[SPEAKER_01]: Today, I'm misunderstood with Rachel, you could tell. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, I have to ask, because I know you worked with Daddy. [SPEAKER_00]: Did he? [SPEAKER_01]: Before the case, he came out. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know for to believe it or not. [SPEAKER_01]: You did. [SPEAKER_01]: I was one of those people like that. [SPEAKER_01]: You ain't never seen that sign. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh! [SPEAKER_00]: I like to be in the gatekeeper. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to know in the secrets and keep in the secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, now I'm on the opposite side of that coin. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm somebody that tells the secret. [SPEAKER_00]: But I got a tip today that Chris Jenner is looking to buy each. [SPEAKER_01]: I went to college with the guy that she's dating. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: How did you kiss him? [SPEAKER_00]: Donald Trump sued me once. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, when he was a celebrity, Hulk Hogan just passed and nobody's remembering that he used the n-word. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so obsessed with Jeff Bezos, a lot of sad twists. [SPEAKER_00]: All of us reminds me of the first season of a really good draw. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they get twisted. [SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to misunderstood. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm your host, Rachel, you could help. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I just landed in New York City to knock out three huge interviews back to back. [SPEAKER_01]: And today, you're getting the first one. [SPEAKER_01]: And wow, are we starting strong? [SPEAKER_01]: Joining me is none other than Rob Shooter than naughty, but nice host, legendary gossip columnist, and celebrity publicist who's worked with Ditty, JLo, Jessica Simpson, and so many more. [SPEAKER_01]: Rob isn't just somebody who reports on Hollywood. [SPEAKER_01]: He's been deep inside it. [SPEAKER_01]: His sources are real. [SPEAKER_01]: His tea is boiling and his credibility untouchable. [SPEAKER_01]: So buckle up because this episode is everything. [SPEAKER_01]: Pardon's affairs, family feuds, oh my, we're driving into the wildest headlines blowing up your feed right now. [SPEAKER_01]: could Donald Trump actually pardon Diddy and Galane Maxwell. [SPEAKER_01]: The latest on the lawsuit with Brigitte Macron going against Candace Owens, who's been calling her a man. [SPEAKER_01]: Our Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau more than just friends. [SPEAKER_01]: The guy that Jennifer Aniston is seeing is someone I went to college with, we get into all the details. [SPEAKER_01]: And what is really going on inside of Hulk Hogan's messy, family feud over his well? [SPEAKER_01]: Rob was there for the rise of duty. [SPEAKER_01]: He sat in the rooms where these headlines were born, and today he's spilling everything unfiltered, unapologetic, and he's definitely being naughty and nice. [SPEAKER_01]: You are not going to want to miss this episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's get right into it with my friend, Rob Shooter. [SPEAKER_01]: I am so happy that you are here. [SPEAKER_01]: You are an old old friend of mine. [SPEAKER_01]: I was trying to remember how we actually met. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't because you were trying to get some dirt. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure that's how when I look through my dress book, most of the people I met, it started out in a little rocker. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in the gossip business. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I want information, and it doesn't always have to be mean or nasty, but I want information, but you popped up on my radar. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think I pursued you. [SPEAKER_00]: And I probably was very annoyed, but you were just charming and you were kind to me. [SPEAKER_00]: We've ultimately became friends. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, I think that [SPEAKER_01]: Listen, for so long, I had people like from TMZ and Daily Mail and whatever being really aggressive and really mean. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, of course, the public was really mean and the words around how they shaped me were mean. [SPEAKER_01]: And I remember thinking, you know, you and another one who a lot of people don't like but Dylan Howard was very good to me, even though a lot of stuff in the papers were not so good. [SPEAKER_01]: He as a human was very good to me and we became very close. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter whatever you do for a living, people watching this listening to this. [SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter what you do, but do it with a little bit of kindness. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I say that. [SPEAKER_00]: Not because I'm a particularly kind person. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a smart person. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: To be kind is a good thing to do, but it's also the smart thing to do. [SPEAKER_00]: I've learnt throughout my life that my biggest opportunities, my biggest moments have come. [SPEAKER_00]: Not when I'm being mean, but when I'm [SPEAKER_00]: being kind plus before I did this, I was a celebrity publicist. [SPEAKER_00]: And that really helped me understand what it's like to be in the middle of a hurricane, which you were in. [SPEAKER_00]: And when I worked with Jessica Simpson, the Jennifer Lopez, or even did a, I knew what it was like to be around somebody where the world just descended upon you. [SPEAKER_00]: And it doesn't matter if you're a regular person or if you're a movie star to suddenly being that [SPEAKER_00]: hurricane is very, very difficult. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm really grateful that I learned it. [SPEAKER_00]: I learned it from being around some really difficult divorces, breakups, situations. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that was part of the advantage that I had. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And also seeing that these people are real people and have heartache, like everybody else. [SPEAKER_01]: Or, you know, it's devastating what happens. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, that fifteen minutes of fame, or those years of fame, is not all people think it's [SPEAKER_01]: Meet up to be right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a lie, isn't it? [SPEAKER_00]: It's never fifteen minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: It might be fifteen minutes in the red hot center of the drama, but it always is on your resume. [SPEAKER_00]: It's always part of your life. [SPEAKER_00]: When you think about people like Monica Lewinsky, it never went away. [SPEAKER_00]: That heat went away, but it never really went away. [SPEAKER_00]: Reality starts like, hey, Goslin, you know, I think it's been on the cover of people magazine consecutively, more than any other star, more than Julia Roberts. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: She's still like, she's not quite in the spotlight anymore, but it's always part of her resume. [SPEAKER_00]: So I tell people all the time, I'm no longer a publicist, but I tell friends of mine, you gotta make peace with this because it doesn't go away. [SPEAKER_00]: It changes. [SPEAKER_00]: It gets a little bit softer. [SPEAKER_00]: It gets a little bit easier. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's always on your resume. [SPEAKER_00]: So it was on your bio. [SPEAKER_01]: On your bio and on your Timston. [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, I want to get back to the beginning though. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to know how you got into this. [SPEAKER_01]: You're not from the United know obviously as you can hear from your accent. [SPEAKER_01]: So where were you born and did you want to be in Gus? [SPEAKER_00]: I was born in Birmingham in England, which is like a rough town. [SPEAKER_00]: I pretend it Chicago. [SPEAKER_00]: It's more Detroit. [SPEAKER_00]: Like it's the second city. [SPEAKER_00]: So London's the big city, the second city, the biggest city after London is Birmingham. [SPEAKER_00]: It's in the heart of the country. [SPEAKER_00]: Aussie Osborne was from Birmingham. [SPEAKER_00]: So sort of a city down on its look, an industrial town where the industry had left. [SPEAKER_00]: Think of Detroit. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a tan that just needed a little bit of, a little bit of love, a little bit of polish. [SPEAKER_00]: It was a rough diamond, and so I grew up in Birmingham, England, and I'm not very good at many things, but at school, I knew everybody's secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: Like on the play crowd it was like dangerous liaison because they because they knew they could trust Yeah, I don't know why they would think that even today I'm not sure what anybody would I think it's because I had a lot of secrets myself I was in the closet I said young gay kid in the town where being gay was not a good thing I'm not even sure it is today and so I have a damaged arm I have one arm that's smaller than the other so I had a lot of issues as a young kid [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of things that make me feel really different. [SPEAKER_00]: And it taught me some empathy. [SPEAKER_00]: It taught me how to listen. [SPEAKER_00]: I love to talk, but I love to listen to. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just by nature. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a very... I'll say curious. [SPEAKER_00]: The cruel world is nosy. [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm a very nosy person. [SPEAKER_00]: I like people's stories. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: You do too. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why you're so good at this. [SPEAKER_00]: I love this. [SPEAKER_00]: This is storytelling. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I'm not in the gossip business. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in the friendship business. [SPEAKER_00]: People come to me because they're a bit lonely. [SPEAKER_00]: People come to me because they just want to chat for, you know, I'm that piano player, Billy Joel in the bar at two a.m. [SPEAKER_00]: and people just want someone to do do. [SPEAKER_00]: And if Diane saw you said to me once, when I couldn't understand why anybody in a disaster would want to talk to somebody on television. [SPEAKER_00]: I think there was an incident where some children fell down a well and Diane got this interview and asked Diane. [SPEAKER_00]: Why would the parents go on national TV and talk about this? [SPEAKER_00]: And she said, everyone has a story. [SPEAKER_00]: Shut up and listen to it. [SPEAKER_00]: Great advice. [SPEAKER_01]: Great advice. [SPEAKER_01]: So what made you come to you and I would say? [SPEAKER_00]: I fell in love. [SPEAKER_00]: So I met this really cute American and he's great. [SPEAKER_00]: We're still together. [SPEAKER_00]: Thirty, yes? [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's gonna. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: I was gonna ask. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, cheers. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a really great guy. [SPEAKER_00]: So I met a cute American and he was easier for me. [SPEAKER_01]: He lived here. [SPEAKER_00]: He was working in Britain. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was at the University of Edinburgh, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I failed Oxford and Cambridge. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the third choice. [SPEAKER_00]: We sat around like the U.D. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to do fail Oxford and Cambridge too, and we want, yes. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so great to Edinburgh at Bruce, was working at Edinburgh, so I met him in Edinburgh thirty years ago, and then I came here for like a summer of fun and romance and kisses, and just like a great summer, I thought to be lovely to come to America, I thought it's going to be like Dallas or Dynasty, or I thought it was going to be so glamorous, and I came to New York, which is like, and so I came to New York, fell in love with New York, but more importantly, fell in love with him, and we've been together since. [SPEAKER_01]: Amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: And then what was your first job in Gaza? [SPEAKER_00]: So my first job when I got here is I didn't have paperwork. [SPEAKER_00]: So I worked in a video store, but it was an old fashion video store. [SPEAKER_00]: They only did black and white movies. [SPEAKER_00]: So they didn't have any x-rated movies. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like the video store not like blockbuster. [SPEAKER_00]: No, no, it's like it's called Mrs Hudson's. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was this old school video school store on Hudson Street in the village. [SPEAKER_00]: And all she rented with like old Betty Davis movies and Marilyn Monroe. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to come in? [SPEAKER_00]: No, and that's why I went out of business and so nobody was in there. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just sat there all day watched movies. [SPEAKER_00]: And I loved it. [SPEAKER_00]: That was the best job I ever had. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I got a job in a PR office through a friend of a friend. [SPEAKER_00]: I was never privileged enough and lucky enough to be able to pick my job. [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't, I wasn't one of those kids that could think about, what would I like to do for a living? [SPEAKER_00]: I needed to make money. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I had to say yes to whatever opportunity came along. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this very fancy PR office, BNC in LA, they opened up a New York office and needed a receptionist. [SPEAKER_00]: And I said, I'll do that. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I started as the receptionist of Bradman Nyman Kafferalli. [SPEAKER_01]: amazing and somehow along the way you're representing these amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's because I'm nosy like I sat at that for a desk and it was before cell phones. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you were a big star and you wanted to call your publicist you had to call the main number and then I would put your through. [SPEAKER_00]: Before I put you through I would have a little chilly chat with you. [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way they probably needed to get on your good side to get you to put that through. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing is when you pay publicists a ton of money. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't always answer your call. [SPEAKER_00]: I was shocked. [SPEAKER_00]: Like these big stars were calling. [SPEAKER_00]: And the publicists were not that into it. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I would share to chatter. [SPEAKER_00]: And then, often too, they didn't want publicity. [SPEAKER_00]: They wanted dinner resolution. [SPEAKER_00]: So they wanted to know what was the hot show in town. [SPEAKER_00]: And because I had nothing to do at the front desk, I couldn't watch old movies like in the video store, I used to read time out, or I used to pour through the magazine. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you called up and asked, what was the hottest restaurant, I would know, no, no, I'd be in there. [SPEAKER_00]: But because I'd read New York Magazine. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I was this fun to have information, which is at the end of the day. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's really been a good gossip columnist, a good publicist. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's all about. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So, all right, I have to ask because I know you worked with Diddy. [SPEAKER_00]: Diddy. [SPEAKER_01]: Tell me some stories. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really tricky because what's going on there is awful and I had to say that right at the top and I know Diddy's supporter anymore when that Tassie tape came out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It was the moment I switched. [SPEAKER_01]: But by the way, before the Cassie tape came out, you know? [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know for to believe it or not. [SPEAKER_00]: I was one of those people like, because you never seen that sign. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, even worse, Rachel, he was charming. [SPEAKER_00]: Of all the clients I've ever had, he was the kindest to me. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: He looked you in the eye. [SPEAKER_00]: He made me feel important. [SPEAKER_00]: He would give me his car. [SPEAKER_00]: I was working late. [SPEAKER_00]: He'd make sure I got home. [SPEAKER_00]: No, what the client cared about that was once in his car. [SPEAKER_00]: And there was a rap song, Garn, and the F word, a gaysler kept coming on. [SPEAKER_00]: He went mad, turned that off. [SPEAKER_00]: My publicist is this gay. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so sorry, Rob. [SPEAKER_00]: When I got a voice that just gave me the challenge. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the oddest thing, but a lot of really twisted people. [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of monsters, a charming. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying it is a serial killer, but Jeffrey Darmer and these people were apparently very, very charming. [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey Epstein was apparently very, very charming. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, when I worked with duty, [SPEAKER_00]: Did he taught me how to be a publicist? [SPEAKER_00]: He was paying me, but really I should have paid him. [SPEAKER_00]: I went to the PR School of Dide. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what Dide does. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not a terribly talented musician. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not a terribly good-looking person. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not a great designer. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not Carl Lagerfeld. [SPEAKER_00]: But he knows how to put on a circus. [SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to put on a show. [SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to change a name. [SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to stage a photo graph. [SPEAKER_00]: He knows how to make himself the center of whatever's going on. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I learned from Diddy how to be a publicist. [SPEAKER_00]: I learned how to write a press release. [SPEAKER_00]: I learned how to stage a photograph. [SPEAKER_00]: I learned how to get attention for my clients, but maybe myself along the way. [SPEAKER_00]: And so my experience with Diddy [SPEAKER_00]: at the time. [SPEAKER_00]: If none of this had happened, if we hadn't found out about all this, I would be saying, did he was my favorite client? [SPEAKER_00]: And now I have to be careful about that because it sounds terrible, but he was charming. [SPEAKER_01]: So what's the latest now with the whole story? [SPEAKER_00]: So he's been found guilty of two very serious crimes, however, that three really, really serious crimes. [SPEAKER_00]: He's been found innocent and so he's [SPEAKER_00]: Trying to get out is in jail at the moment, he didn't get bail. [SPEAKER_00]: I think just today he offered to put up fifty million dollars to get released. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think, did he know in Puff? [SPEAKER_00]: He could pull it off. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He taught me to never accept no for an answer. [SPEAKER_00]: And the other thing he said to me over and over again, and it was inspiring at the time, and now it's perverse, was the road to success is paved with failure. [SPEAKER_00]: So when you fail, you get back up in your try again, which is a really good lesson to teach people, but not a good lesson to teach somebody to get out of jail. [SPEAKER_00]: So it works both ways, doesn't it? [SPEAKER_01]: It works like- So he won't accept that. [SPEAKER_00]: He will not accept that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and he probably, you know, thinks he will ultimately get out. [SPEAKER_01]: What is the worst that can happen? [SPEAKER_01]: Do we know what his actions are supposed to be? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so it's like it's going to, I think the maximum is five years. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: The minimum is six months, but he's already been in for over a year. [SPEAKER_00]: So when they, when they come, I bet I would predict that the legal experts I spoke to said, probably about two years, one of which has already served. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's probably got a year in jail, not good, not a nice place to be, and then he'll come back and he won't disappear. [SPEAKER_00]: He'll fight to come back. [SPEAKER_00]: I could see him going on tour with Kanye West. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: I could see him selling baby oil. [SPEAKER_00]: He thinks, right. [SPEAKER_00]: How can I turn this into? [SPEAKER_00]: How can I turn this into? [SPEAKER_00]: I could be like the spokesperson for Johnson and Johnson. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he could. [SPEAKER_01]: He could as soon as it is. [SPEAKER_01]: How do you think he's doing in jail? [SPEAKER_00]: I think this perverse part of puff. [SPEAKER_00]: that loves all the attention. [SPEAKER_00]: He always used to tell me he was going to be the most famous person in the world. [SPEAKER_00]: Arguably he is. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So there's a weird part of him that will love that we're talking about him. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's part of him too that will be really, really angry that this happened to him. [SPEAKER_00]: It's inconceivable to him that somebody as powerful, somebody as rich, somebody as charming could be in jail. [SPEAKER_00]: And he is. [SPEAKER_00]: And so at the end of the night when you and me go to bed, he goes to sleep in it. [SPEAKER_00]: The prison cell. [SPEAKER_00]: And so that must have an impact. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to think there's some growth there. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to think that he's going to do some good. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd like to think that he has found a bigger purpose than himself. [SPEAKER_00]: But that isn't often what happens with people who are this successful. [SPEAKER_00]: You've met a ton of really successful people. [SPEAKER_00]: And part of the reason did is successful is that he is his own hobby. [SPEAKER_00]: From the minute he gets up to the minute he goes to sleep, he thinks about it today. [SPEAKER_01]: It's interesting because I do think while you're in it, a lot of people are so like, they're convinced that when they get out or when they have that second chance, they're going to change. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to do all this good. [SPEAKER_01]: They're going to rehab everything, but when they get out, they're like, okay, that was in the past. [SPEAKER_01]: Like over. [SPEAKER_00]: Martha Stewart. [SPEAKER_00]: Martha when she went to jail, she was going to stay friends with everybody she met. [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody made her a public show that I thought was good. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they don't. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, they don't. [SPEAKER_01]: And the only person I really have met. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you remember, obviously, you do the whole scandal with Lorraine Obama? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: She spent her whole life dedicating it to domestic violence. [SPEAKER_01]: She's changed her name, her whole life because everybody thought she was crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: And she still maintains that she was abused and that this was marital rape and all these things that were terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: And she's the one person I've met in doing this that has really made her life about what happened to her. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone else has disdain. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Them cells, or take it to use it as a joke to get to the next level. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I know indeed as I do. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he'll use it as a joke, but he's shameless. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I could see Diddy opening a battered woman center. [SPEAKER_00]: The P. Diddy battered woman set. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I could literally see him trying to become a spokesperson for domestic violence, which the irony with them, you know, of what happened. [SPEAKER_00]: We saw that tape with Cassie. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: He might lean into this. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Which by the way, I think would be great. [SPEAKER_01]: And would be good for him. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, remember all that stuff happened with Michael Vick. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And now I see Michael Vick all the time and everybody's kind of resurrected around him and they love him. [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I think he has a couple of pit bowls and, you know, he's on podcast. [SPEAKER_01]: No one ever asked him about what happened before. [SPEAKER_01]: But I would abuse animals. [SPEAKER_01]: Like that's only like the worst kind of a human in my perspective. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so I don't know, everybody [SPEAKER_00]: You couldn't yet Hulk Hogan just passed and nobody's remembering that he used the N word. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody's talking about that he used the F with that gay slurs. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody's talking that there was a sex tape of him and his best friends wife. [SPEAKER_00]: It's amazing how you can change your narrative and nobody does it better than puff. [SPEAKER_00]: Madonna, maybe. [SPEAKER_00]: He's the first one that figured out how to change his name. [SPEAKER_00]: He was dating Jennifer Lopez, and she became Jailo, like, that name changes, such a now stereotypical trick for celebrities. [SPEAKER_00]: We don't remember who invented it. [SPEAKER_01]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_01]: What was there? [SPEAKER_01]: It was one of the first. [SPEAKER_01]: OK, so you did all these interesting things with PR. [SPEAKER_01]: Anyone else that wears it? [SPEAKER_00]: Jennifer, Jennifer, I loved working with Jailo. [SPEAKER_00]: She was smart and tough. [SPEAKER_00]: What's with her being such a love at? [SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't involved in her private life. [SPEAKER_00]: I think a lot of people think that when you're someone's publicist, you're their best friend. [SPEAKER_00]: That isn't the case of Jennifer. [SPEAKER_00]: She's very, very good at putting up boundaries, which I think is healthy. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I only have a sore gen in a professional aspect. [SPEAKER_00]: But the gen I knew on a red carpet, the gen I knew at an interview, the gen I knew, even over dinner, was a really tough, smart, really level-headed person. [SPEAKER_01]: And like an alpha? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, she was boss. [SPEAKER_00]: Jen was the boss. [SPEAKER_00]: She knew what she wanted. [SPEAKER_00]: And I always say after, yes, the next best answer is no, because maybe it gets me nowhere. [SPEAKER_00]: Like a baby's like, what do I do that? [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, Jen was always yes, no, no, yes, yes, no, like just straight down the middle. [SPEAKER_00]: Her Achilles heel was love. [SPEAKER_01]: I was just going to say those exact words. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really sad to watch because then she hears she ends up alone. [SPEAKER_01]: And hopefully she will find something in her life that makes sense. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think everybody was really hoping it would be bad because that was fun. [SPEAKER_00]: I wrote their break up statement. [SPEAKER_00]: So I was working with Jan when she broke up and I remember how she called me to say it's over and then for the second time. [SPEAKER_00]: the first time so yeah and it's so interesting when a public when when a you're a publicist when celebrities break up that statement that's released it takes hours of work so normally you get on the phone I worked for Jessica Simpson when she broke up with Nick make the show I wrote that break up statement and so you write the statement and it's normally like a very generic we love each other still can give us privacy [SPEAKER_00]: and then you have to send it to him, and he has to approve it, and then his people approve it, and then he comes back, and then you change it, and then you fight over this world, or that word, and with Jen Jen doesn't play. [SPEAKER_00]: Jen was like, this is the statement, and it went out. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it wasn't. [SPEAKER_00]: A very boring, but she did not play. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like, this is the statement, and she knew where she wanted it to go, and who, I think, was weekly broke it, and she, she was a boss, and I was like, wow, I wanna be like, oh, when I grow up, and then I see a side of her, when it comes to men, it's so interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's what I think makes people so interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: Even the most organized, the most alpha, the most dominant people we know, they have an aspect to their life where they're not. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Today this episode is sponsored by Balance of Nature. [SPEAKER_01]: If you've ever flipped over a supplement label and thought, what am I even putting in my body? [SPEAKER_01]: I hear you. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I'm such a fan of Balance of Nature. [SPEAKER_01]: What makes these supplements stand out as simple? [SPEAKER_01]: I can actually recognize what's inside. [SPEAKER_01]: The fruits and veggies supplements are made with real, whole ingredients like celery, spinach, cauliflower, shataki mushrooms, blueberries, and mango. [SPEAKER_01]: And their fiber and spice blend, it includes whole apple, cinnamon, flaxseed, and turmeric. [SPEAKER_01]: Ingredients you've probably already used in your own kitchen. [SPEAKER_01]: I love knowing that what I'm taking is made from actual fruits, vegetable spices, and fibers, not a bunch of stuff I can pronounce. [SPEAKER_01]: It's clean, convenient, and easy to add into your routine, whether that's swallowing the capsules, opening them into your smoothie, or sprinkling them on your food. [SPEAKER_01]: And here's the best part, right now my listeners get an exclusive deal. [SPEAKER_01]: Use code understood for thirty-five percent off plus get a free bottle of fiber and spice. [SPEAKER_01]: Just head to balance of nature.com. [SPEAKER_01]: Use code understood and get started with something you can actually feel good about. [SPEAKER_01]: That's balance of nature.com. [SPEAKER_01]: Use code understood. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: But also isn't it interesting that all these people that we think we know because they're on camera, they're in the newspaper, they're so famous. [SPEAKER_01]: We think that makes up who they are. [SPEAKER_01]: But underneath there are so many things, whether it's secrets or just things that are not of anybody's business on who they are as a real person. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like no one knew what was happening with Tiger. [SPEAKER_01]: Nobody knew what's been happening with Ben and Jen and Angelina when all that happened. [SPEAKER_00]: Did your friends know? [SPEAKER_00]: When you were in the middle of it, yeah, some of the very feel. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why it kept a secret because you were very selective about who you tell. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, for me, it was very difficult because my job, I don't know if you remember if we were friends, then I guess we weren't until after this, but I was the gatekeeper at the hottest night. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the world. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, it was in Vegas. [SPEAKER_01]: We had opened up town in Vegas. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was the number one night club in the world. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was the director of VIP operations there. [SPEAKER_01]: So my job was to deal with the celebrities and protect them. [SPEAKER_01]: I can't tell you, I could write a book on the people that would come in and I just had to protect them from their wives, from the girlfriends, from their secrets. [SPEAKER_01]: I had celebrities that would come in that were a list actors in the middle of a movie that was out. [SPEAKER_01]: And they were heterosexual, but we're bringing their boyfriends there and wanted a secret little corner so they could be with their boyfriend. [SPEAKER_01]: I had people who were pretending that they were going through some health issues, but you know, this was the time when, even though it probably was, I'm sure it was illegal, but people were like smoking and nightclubs. [SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't so poo poo, as it is now, right? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I would like to cigarette, and just so they could be like, okay, hand it to me behind your back. [SPEAKER_01]: I had to pretend I was smoking so that they could be smoking it. [SPEAKER_01]: When everyone thought they were in the middle of treatment for some cancer or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like crazy situation. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody asked you about your secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: That's so ironic that you've got all these secrets that you're holding onto and the biggest secret is actually. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, which by the way, and I didn't want it to kind of fell into that. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't want it to be that way. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't trained that way. [SPEAKER_01]: I really was someone who I wasn't somebody who slept with clients. [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't somebody who was involved in any of that. [SPEAKER_01]: I was very legit because I wanted to take care of these people. [SPEAKER_01]: I cared about them like you said. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you wouldn't have had that drop in that then you had you been sloppy. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, let's be clear about that right. [SPEAKER_00]: When the press painted you as someone sloppy or someone messy, there was no way you would have worked for Noah in the hottest club in the hottest city. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he just wouldn't have had to be a terrible little club in like Queens. [SPEAKER_01]: I know I knew what it meant to be the gatekeeper and I cherished that job. [SPEAKER_01]: And also I knew that those people were just people. [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't, you know, they had a job that was in the public eye, but that didn't mean that their love life or whatever was going on in their private life had to be so public. [SPEAKER_01]: So they deserve to have the best night of their life coming out to the hottest nightclub if they wanted to. [SPEAKER_01]: I had to make sure that they were protected when they did that. [SPEAKER_01]: So I love that job. [SPEAKER_01]: I loved it. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to be the gatekeeper. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to know in the secrets and keep in the secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm on the opposite side of that coin. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm somebody that tells the secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm cautious about it. [SPEAKER_00]: There's many many many secrets. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of stuff I know that I wouldn't print. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, I'd argue there's more that I haven't said than I have, but it's a curious job. [SPEAKER_00]: knowing secrets and having secrets and the power that secrets give you and how do you tell that story? [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I was going to ask you about in what you do now being a gossip. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm a gossip. [SPEAKER_01]: So how do you know when too much as too much or that you have a story that if you break this, this is going to change your career. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: My Chris pretty good so I like my piece of the pie so if I was more ambitious I could be Perez Hilton or I could be bigger than I am I could be the Cindy Adams but you know that comes with a lot of baggage and responsibility and so I think I have a really good balance where I have a great private life [SPEAKER_00]: my own life which I'm very, very protective about. [SPEAKER_00]: I run a cleave for somebody who talks about everybody else. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't talk about my own life very, very much. [SPEAKER_00]: But there are things that I don't touch. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I don't do health crisis. [SPEAKER_00]: I knew somebody had cancer and I knew they were in a really bad shape and somebody else broke it and I wasn't jealous. [SPEAKER_00]: It's not my story. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do children's stories. [SPEAKER_00]: If there's something going on for your kids, I don't act people. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like, I've known about gay celebrities and I don't do that and it could potentially what it get me more handsome people would click it. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, I've called my column. [SPEAKER_00]: and my business naughty, but nice. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's who really is. [SPEAKER_00]: I am cheeky. [SPEAKER_00]: I love a good laugh. [SPEAKER_00]: But I'm not a mean guy. [SPEAKER_00]: I definitely are, I will pinch you. [SPEAKER_00]: But I won't pinch you. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't punch. [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't do that by nature. [SPEAKER_00]: It's nothing that I have to pretend to be. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a nice guy, but I'm naughty. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm cheeky. [SPEAKER_00]: I do like naughty does like it makes me tickle. [SPEAKER_00]: I love the juice. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and it's a hardest thing to do Rachel. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very easy to be mean and interesting. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very easy to say hateful, horrible things and have a million people read your column. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very easy to be really nice and really boring. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: But to be naughty but nice, to be interesting but not a complete like a whole. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's difficult, so for me, it's not what I report, it's how I report it. [SPEAKER_00]: And the tone, that's what's so important to me, the tone of it is cheeky. [SPEAKER_01]: Because the people that are listening, like I know and I've listened to some of your stuff, I sit there and give all. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't tell anybody. [SPEAKER_00]: I got a whisper. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like talking about sex. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a real prude in my personal. [SPEAKER_00]: I just don't like it. [SPEAKER_00]: That's where you talk about private parts or bits and pieces and like we don't. [SPEAKER_00]: It makes me giggle. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm in the friendship business. [SPEAKER_01]: So, what do you like back when I first met you? [SPEAKER_01]: It was different because there wasn't as much or any social media as there is. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: You want to have cell phones? [SPEAKER_01]: That's right. [SPEAKER_01]: So, what I'm, are we at Black Bear? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't think you just had a picture. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Paris Hilton was like with a sidekick. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like, I don't recall ever taking pictures of the phone. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think you could. [SPEAKER_01]: And it wasn't like this big texting thing that knows now. [SPEAKER_01]: And there was no social media. [SPEAKER_01]: So my question is, like, what do you think of all these people who are now content creators who sit at their homes and are making a bigger living people that have gone to college for this? [SPEAKER_01]: And or real reporters and know about listen, my first job was at Bloomberg. [SPEAKER_01]: You had to be first, but you had to be factual and you had to know what the hell you were talking about. [SPEAKER_01]: And you had to have at least two sources. [SPEAKER_01]: And you had to protect the sources. [SPEAKER_01]: Now people are out there in their living rooms, you know, that have never done anything in their lives. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're like, well, let me just tell you about Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, and they talk with such authority. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's insane because they're just regurgitating stuff, but they're making money off of it. [SPEAKER_00]: I have different feelings about mixed feelings. [SPEAKER_00]: Part of me is I love entrepreneurs. [SPEAKER_00]: I love people that hustle. [SPEAKER_00]: I was not born a rich kid. [SPEAKER_00]: So to make your own money and to sort of like, pay your own way is really inspiring. [SPEAKER_00]: However, we're seeing a lot of news outlets, including E. News, a lot of the entertainment outlets. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just going to go out of business because there's nothing they can say that is as interesting as a blogger sitting at home, making stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: And they can say it as fast. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, they can't say it as fast and they've got to go through filters of legal through publicists, through managers, through celebrities. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, once you see those filters, and then the delay, we've got to wait till nine o'clock tonight or seven o'clock tonight to say it, it's pretty much irrelevant. [SPEAKER_00]: However, there has to be a place for truth. [SPEAKER_00]: Like my reporting's accurate. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a really good at this. [SPEAKER_00]: I know every gossipy hair and makeup person in the world. [SPEAKER_00]: That's when you get the good gossip from. [SPEAKER_02]: Right. [SPEAKER_02]: That is true. [SPEAKER_00]: He always be nice to her and make her pay no everything. [SPEAKER_00]: I said the green rib of a morning show and there was a celebrity being a little bit difficult to make a person. [SPEAKER_00]: I just winked to make a person. [SPEAKER_00]: That's like I gotcha because they don't everything and so [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's hard actually. [SPEAKER_00]: I sit there and I scroll through TikTok and I get like, but I do this for a living. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: I get fooled. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, oh my god, I can't believe it. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm like, that did happen. [SPEAKER_00]: It just did not happen. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's complicated. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you should find somebody. [SPEAKER_00]: who you trust, who you enjoy listening to, and follow them. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't follow, don't reward people who are just making stuff up because that's cheating. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like somebody that cheated at the test. [SPEAKER_00]: Don't like, you've got, I paid my dues. [SPEAKER_00]: I tell people who want to be me, young people that won a profession like mine. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying, get a job at a legitimate outlet, at least for a couple of years and learn the rules before you learn how to break them. [SPEAKER_00]: like just learn the rules. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: And you gotta be right. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: So true. [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, I love having that in my background. [SPEAKER_01]: I love having to, that I had people older than me that have been doing it for thirty plus years telling me what was right, what was wrong, correcting editing, saying you can't go with this. [SPEAKER_01]: Where are you hearing this? [SPEAKER_01]: Who said this? [SPEAKER_01]: If they, that's here, say you have to get it right from their mouth. [SPEAKER_01]: The other thing that's interesting is that these content creators are becoming famous in their own right, and then [SPEAKER_01]: but they're getting interviews on their podcast or whatever it is now that they have with celebrities that, you know, networks are wanting interviews. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I hate the expression fake it to you make it, but they do. [SPEAKER_00]: It works. [SPEAKER_00]: It does work. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the irony here is that we can sit around it like, oh, it's terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: It works. [SPEAKER_00]: That does work. [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's a very, very complicated place where we're in, but I think find people that get it right and people that you enjoy and reward those and don't reward the others, but you gotta do the work. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no shortcuts, there's not, like, you gotta do the work for me to be mildly entertaining for ten minutes, takes ten hours of my work. [SPEAKER_00]: Have just worked. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I was going to ask you. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so do you, how do you do your, come up with your stuff? [SPEAKER_01]: Do you recycle kind of, you look at all that? [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's all exclusive, so I started this sub stack. [SPEAKER_00]: and sub-stack is basically a platform that you can go on, a lot of writers are on it now, Tina Brown. [SPEAKER_00]: So a lot of writers that were in traditional media, you sign up, you get a newsletter every day, it's basically a newsletter. [SPEAKER_00]: So you sign in, it's Rob Shudder on sub-stack, you're putting your email, and that's all you do. [SPEAKER_00]: So you sign in by putting in your email, and then you get an email from me, a newsletter, and you have it at it. [SPEAKER_00]: I do a newsletter three times a day. [SPEAKER_00]: I have a team, so it's not just some of you, so it's a little office that we have, [SPEAKER_01]: about gossip. [SPEAKER_01]: I went to London. [SPEAKER_00]: No, sure. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's never about me. [SPEAKER_00]: What you said a minute ago, if I can pick up on a lot of people get into this, not to be good reporters or good gossip columnists, but to become famous. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't it's not a [SPEAKER_00]: It's not still you don't care where I went for lunch. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't care what shoes I'm wearing. [SPEAKER_00]: It's never about me. [SPEAKER_00]: This is the mistake that so many people get into on television or in the in the news business they become the story. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually [SPEAKER_00]: This sounds crazy because I'm sitting here with you, but I'm quite shy of how it's all this like I'm not a natural show po today. [SPEAKER_00]: I like to go the people's stories. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I can ever do a post on your Instagram. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me tell you when you're on my face before I go unless you pay me a lot [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_02]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: I don [SPEAKER_00]: tricky part of this is for me, it's not, it's not about me. [SPEAKER_00]: So with Substack, I do a newsletter twice a day and it's three exclusive, really short stories, but just breaking news, something I've heard, like I just, on the way here, I got a text from a friend of mine who's very, very high up at NBC Comcast. [SPEAKER_00]: They're spinning off a, so Comcast NBC, they own Bravo, they own E, they own CNBC, they're spinning off some of the companies. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I got a tip today that Chris Jenner is looking to buy E. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, E for the Kardashians, like, it's just delicious. [SPEAKER_00]: I banged that out in twenty minutes, like, fact shit to it. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's not a thousand words story. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: It's two hundred words. [SPEAKER_00]: So I can do it on my eye first. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just kind of like the headline and two hundred words and some great quotes from a great source. [SPEAKER_00]: And now that's ended the conversation. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I do this Katy Perry, is she dating Justin to do? [SPEAKER_00]: So she was spotted having, um, did Justin single? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yes, broke up with his wife. [SPEAKER_01]: So there would be a great couple. [SPEAKER_00]: There'd be a great couple, but his people, I spoke to people around him. [SPEAKER_00]: And they were like, he went for dinner. [SPEAKER_00]: She's playing Montréal. [SPEAKER_00]: She wanted to see the show. [SPEAKER_00]: She invite, she invited him for dinner, not he didn't vote her. [SPEAKER_00]: He went for dinner with her. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think he paid. [SPEAKER_00]: I love it. [SPEAKER_00]: I love to do pay. [SPEAKER_00]: She couldn't love it. [SPEAKER_00]: But I wanted to know who paid. [SPEAKER_00]: I think he picked up the check. [SPEAKER_00]: And they were like, if they're dated, he does not do. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, I heard that did it was great. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's how dating stars. [SPEAKER_00]: You and your Alice don't. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't say like, because your famous, if you were on a date with somebody, I'd take a photograph and foolish press, press that didn't really know you would be like, Rachel, you could tell dating. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd call you or I call a source close to you and you'd be like, [SPEAKER_00]: She had a nice time. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be a second date. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: There's gonna be a little bit of a happy birthday. [SPEAKER_00]: And so like nobody just dates after appetizers. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a dessert and even then you don't know if you date it. [SPEAKER_00]: I have friends who've been on dates with guys six weeks and the guy aches so sure it's a date. [SPEAKER_01]: It could be six months. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I have a story today, like Katy Perry, and it's very much that she's going home. [SPEAKER_00]: She's smitten, he's very handsome, he's charming. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, hey, like her? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, how could he now? [SPEAKER_00]: How could he not? [SPEAKER_00]: So they're not taking yet. [SPEAKER_01]: OK, good. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I hope that they are. [SPEAKER_00]: But this is the type of gossip that I give you each day. [SPEAKER_00]: Each day, it's just these headlines and a really short story. [SPEAKER_00]: If you can't read my newsletter in five minutes or less, then I've messed up. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not sixty-minute. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, right, right. [SPEAKER_00]: Not too far. [SPEAKER_00]: That too. [SPEAKER_00]: Some people, when they get successful, they become really pompous. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, of course. [SPEAKER_01]: Just shut up. [SPEAKER_01]: Just tell the story. [SPEAKER_01]: Just tell the story. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I have a bunch of things I want to see about then. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: What are your thoughts on Brigitte Macron? [SPEAKER_00]: I think she's tough. [SPEAKER_00]: I think she's smart. [SPEAKER_00]: He's wildly in love with her. [SPEAKER_00]: The rumours have ever been a man or absolutely not true and you will be sued. [SPEAKER_00]: Like she's got a lawsuit about that coming forward. [SPEAKER_00]: I haven't met her, but I'm told she's smart. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what the thing is? [SPEAKER_00]: People have issues when a man's dating an older woman. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but what is it with women? [SPEAKER_01]: Not just people in general wanting to take a powerful woman and say that she's a man. [SPEAKER_01]: Remember when they did this? [SPEAKER_01]: Because it takes a little bomb. [SPEAKER_00]: Because it takes away your femininity and they can't believe some people. [SPEAKER_00]: They can't believe you're a powerful woman without a penis and it's really sexist. [SPEAKER_00]: Why can't she be powerful and strong and him be submissive? [SPEAKER_01]: But it's coming from Candice Owen. [SPEAKER_00]: It is coming from Candice Owen. [SPEAKER_01]: Which is crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we put that's the truth of this. [SPEAKER_00]: I've learned in life that in my business, the people that the crew list to power for women are women. [SPEAKER_00]: Women. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Women support men and gay boys support gay guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Like there is a gay mafia. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm lucky enough to be on the on the how to circle of it. [SPEAKER_00]: But women don't have a women mafia. [SPEAKER_00]: No, they're not that kind of your life, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Have women helped you, or if men? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm very, I have a very small circle. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And very few women. [SPEAKER_01]: It's very few women. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's sad. [SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I very close men, gay men, regular men, straight men. [SPEAKER_01]: But I just identify with men to better because I don't speak in what I call meta messages. [SPEAKER_01]: Like when I say the grass is green or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: I said the grass is green and people are like, well, you made a Memphis and now the other thing I'm like, no, no. [SPEAKER_01]: So, and that's what women tend to do. [SPEAKER_01]: They say something and they mean a hundred and fifty other things. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't do that. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't like to gossip. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't like it when I go to dinners with a bunch of women and all they do is want to gossip about people because it's people that they don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, I probably know those people. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm like, I don't want to gossip about something you read in a magazine. [SPEAKER_01]: And then if it's like gossiping about someone who's like a mom in our school, I don't really want to do that either because people have done that to me where they've talked about me and I don't want to be that person. [SPEAKER_01]: So I try and change that dynamic and like not all women are okay with changing it. [SPEAKER_01]: They want to just talk shit about other people. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, support women. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's not always women against women, but you know, it's, it's a trend. [SPEAKER_00]: You notice that, like I noticed that when sources call me, [SPEAKER_00]: You feel them out. [SPEAKER_00]: You want to know their agenda. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody tells you a story for nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: They tell you a story because they want to promote somebody or they dislike somebody. [SPEAKER_00]: Remember? [SPEAKER_00]: It's a hate is more powerful than love. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I hate to admit that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a awful thing to say. [SPEAKER_00]: But the reason people tell me stuff is often because of jealousy because they don't like it. [SPEAKER_00]: Because they want that story to stand up. [SPEAKER_00]: Most of those calls are made by women. [SPEAKER_01]: So, in terms of this lawsuit, what I found was very interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: It's ninety-nine pages. [SPEAKER_01]: The Macrons have sued using Clark Locke, which is the law firm that was known for doing the Dominion Voting thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's good. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I think that's a really big deal. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they are taking this very seriously. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I saw today that Candace Owens was like, oh, I'm not backing down. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to prove that she's a man. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: She's not a man. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, by the way, if she was a man, okay, who cares? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, why does she need to go after her about it? [SPEAKER_00]: Because it touches her base. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just so weird. [SPEAKER_00]: No, but if you think about trans issues and how that's sort of, that's really fired up a base. [SPEAKER_00]: But it reminds us of angry about trans and people in sports and women's bathrooms. [SPEAKER_00]: My house when I grew up, we had a unisex bathroom. [SPEAKER_00]: The boys and the girls used the way I had one bathroom in my house. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, like, a thirty-two-sand dollar, a great Bob Urban Girl. [SPEAKER_00]: We had one bathroom, boys and girls used it, we're fine. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, but it really, this is red meat. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, Candace is ordinary ones. [SPEAKER_00]: Jeffrey Epstein and trans are the two buttons that are going to make her a lot of money. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: But it seems so dangerous to me because this seems like a real lawsuit. [SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know that she is a network that's going to back her for this to get her out of it. [SPEAKER_01]: If she did, remember what happened with Alex Jones. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he kept doubling down on, oh, you know, Sandy, who didn't have that. [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, I've had his lawyer on my show. [SPEAKER_01]: And when I asked his lawyer, I was like, but how could he really think that? [SPEAKER_01]: And he said, I don't think he really thought that. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he knew it was real, but he had [SPEAKER_01]: it was to the base, it worked for the conversation, it made him a lot of money, and he just kept going with it. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he's like, and then I don't really know what he believed, but I know that he doesn't think it's fake, but he could never really say that. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's insane, and I wonder if she's going to get herself into hot water with us. [SPEAKER_00]: I think she is, but along the way, she's going to build up a support group. [SPEAKER_00]: You're in that place now where you can't tell anybody you can't tell your audience or anything new you have to confirm what they believe. [SPEAKER_00]: So a good example of this is in my magazine days as the executive editor of Arcade magazine. [SPEAKER_00]: I did a cover on Larry Burkhead. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, it was an an an an an an a Colson of some baby daddy and so we paid him a ton of money to do father's days pictures with with Dan Danny Lynn and we paid my ton of money together like Disney land with her and along the way we noticed that the story of fatherhood that he was telling didn't seem to be what we were seeing and he seemed to be kind of an absent father. [SPEAKER_00]: He wasn't quite there was lots of nannies around and we did a cover of him and it was like Larry's twisted double life [SPEAKER_00]: Good headline. [SPEAKER_00]: But we had the receipts to back it up, like the story then detailed, how it did quite fit. [SPEAKER_00]: It was our worst selling cover. [SPEAKER_00]: Because we told the public something they didn't want to hear. [SPEAKER_00]: You can't do a bad story on Jennifer Anderson. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you can't. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't want to hear it. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, let's talk about Jennifer Anderson. [SPEAKER_01]: I love her. [SPEAKER_01]: So I want to college with the guy that she's dating. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: I should just shut up talk. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Have you done the story? [SPEAKER_00]: I have to tell me everything about it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's your life. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you kiss him? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't date him but my best friend it. [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: You see the kisser? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't ask her but I can ask her so for the next time you said to her. [SPEAKER_01]: She speaks nothing but she says nothing but good things about. [SPEAKER_01]: That's good. [SPEAKER_01]: But the thing is is that he has a lip. [SPEAKER_01]: You know this, right? [SPEAKER_01]: He don't know it. [SPEAKER_01]: OK, he has a problem with his leg. [SPEAKER_01]: So what, he's about five six, by the way. [SPEAKER_01]: And my friend was, she's maybe like five eight or something. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, he has a very good looking face. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And has very beautiful eyes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And she said to me, you know, even recently, she goes, oh my God, did you see who's dating Jennifer Anderson? [SPEAKER_01]: The guy I used to date and I'm like, no, she's like, I told you to have him on your show a long time ago because he's a head and a test. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't believe in any of that stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think it's misunderstood. [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, how could I not have listened to my guy? [SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, he's five, six, and he has a limp. [SPEAKER_01]: He walks, is she said, is it a noticeable limp? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you would, yes, she said, she said, she said, she said that she had thought that his one like was, he was born, she's one like short of me. [SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes people will be a shoot. [SPEAKER_01]: But he doesn't. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I read about it. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was something he had some disease. [SPEAKER_01]: And where he doesn't have like feeling. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, so he, he walks with the, so not to be rude. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's a great guy, but I will say five, six, walking with a limp. [SPEAKER_01]: And now dating Jennifer Anderson, this guy has had a stride. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's not getting better than that, so he better. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: I hear he's a really nice guy. [SPEAKER_00]: So my report and on it is that he's a very sweet guy, his charm and his Greek. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So she likes that. [SPEAKER_00]: And her friends like him, what they're worried about is some of her friends are worried about he sells books. [SPEAKER_00]: He's been on more repoverished. [SPEAKER_00]: Like he does know how to play the media. [SPEAKER_00]: So land in, ending up with Jen is something they're always nervous of. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think that's always the case. [SPEAKER_00]: If you meet somebody that's in the public eye, I'm sure you're friends sometimes are suspicious. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, oh, he's just after your parent, a famous, I don't know that's the case with him, but [SPEAKER_00]: Her other group of friends are worried about how he's gonna handle this spotlight. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Because this is a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: I think he's, he looks, listen, he has like, five hundred thousand followers. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's built a big base on his own before her as being a hypnotist, which I think is a little strange. [SPEAKER_01]: By the way, you know, he went to the business school at UNH. [SPEAKER_01]: We went to UNH. [SPEAKER_01]: And he was in the business school there. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think he worked on Wall Street afterwards. [SPEAKER_01]: And so he was a business guy. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he quit all that to get into help because of what was going on with this leg. [SPEAKER_01]: And so this is a real, she makes me like, more like, I love them. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe the way we should find out. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm betting the way he found her is that he hired him as like a hypnotist. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, she, I was told she was a fan of his work. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay. [SPEAKER_00]: He's books. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you have several books out there. [SPEAKER_00]: And before they dated, I got somebody in my office to deep dive and she'd like some of his Instagram posts. [SPEAKER_00]: So this started through what he does for a living. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think Jen loves herself, help writers. [SPEAKER_00]: Her genre that she really, really focuses on, so maybe that's not about I wish them the best. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone wants Jen to fall in love and find that they're happy in a certain place. [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be like he's the Meghan Markle. [SPEAKER_01]: Remember when I ever in love to for like a minute? [SPEAKER_01]: And they were like America's Princess. [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be like America's Princess. [SPEAKER_01]: It'll be like America's Princess. [SPEAKER_01]: Finally, she found that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: Poor guy, poor Jim. [SPEAKER_01]: Good luck to you, Jim. [SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's talk about the Elaine Maxwell. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, as of today, the House Oversight Committee rejected her request for a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: A bold request. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, well, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So here's what I want to get into about this. [SPEAKER_01]: This could be, and I know the magma fans are going to just have a meltdown. [SPEAKER_01]: The biggest scandal of our time since like water game or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, no one's, I mean, people are talking about it, but people aren't really getting it. [SPEAKER_01]: First of all, I don't believe that he killed himself. [SPEAKER_01]: I really don't. [SPEAKER_01]: I had a guy on my show last week who was a for five months, spent five months on nine South, which is the unit that Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in. [SPEAKER_01]: He said that there was absolutely no way you could have killed himself. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't work like that. [SPEAKER_01]: You're not given sheets. [SPEAKER_01]: You live on like a cement bed. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like somewhat soft, but he would not call it, you know, like mattress. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, there is no way that you can hang yourself. [SPEAKER_01]: I did remind him that remember Kate Spade hung herself from like a door knob. [SPEAKER_00]: I worked for Kate. [SPEAKER_00]: You did. [SPEAKER_00]: I was so grateful. [SPEAKER_00]: How terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: I loved her. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you think there was something weird there? [SPEAKER_01]: Who hangs just up from a dorm? [SPEAKER_00]: I think she had changed medication. [SPEAKER_00]: She was she was seen in a doctor I heard. [SPEAKER_00]: Kate was so special to me. [SPEAKER_00]: I traveled with her and I really loved her. [SPEAKER_01]: That must have been devastating. [SPEAKER_00]: I was devastated. [SPEAKER_01]: But was she do you think leading up to that? [SPEAKER_01]: She was just beyond depressed or something? [SPEAKER_00]: I think depression and [SPEAKER_00]: mental health issues. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm having issues with her health management. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and she really never wanted to be that famous. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, she didn't really enjoy what she had a kid. [SPEAKER_00]: She had a kid. [SPEAKER_00]: She had a daughter who, you know, it's a lot, but Kate breaks my heart. [SPEAKER_00]: But what you were saying about Jeffrey is so important because the law enforcement people that I've spoken to said exactly the same. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then there's a minute missing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So that I want to talk about that too. [SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people I just heard this on the news again, and I heard it before, but then [SPEAKER_01]: there is a for people that don't know this the FBI came out and said that there's obviously you know they have video I guess it's video not audio right in the prison there is a minute a full minute that's missing and the police have come out of nine south whatever that's called now it's changed his name has come out and said oh that's a normal thing there's a one minute point where they said they changed the tapes so it certainly I think a midnight happens to be the moment that he killed himself now we're told that the FBI does have that minute [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: So the tape exists. [SPEAKER_00]: Tape always exists. [SPEAKER_00]: So even if you hit delete, it still exists somewhere like the offensive. [SPEAKER_00]: If you've ever watched a hate line, you know, it never goes away. [SPEAKER_00]: So so that is a story. [SPEAKER_00]: I met him. [SPEAKER_00]: So in my, I ripped near me, Campbell and Tyra Bank. [SPEAKER_00]: So I'd go to the Victoria Secret. [SPEAKER_00]: Fashion shows and he was always there. [SPEAKER_00]: I think Victoria's Secret was one of his clients. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I saw him and like duty, he was charming. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Good looking. [SPEAKER_01]: But you didn't see him fumbling young women. [SPEAKER_00]: Nobody was too smart for that. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Like D.D. [SPEAKER_00]: too. [SPEAKER_00]: They're too smart to do it in public. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I used to, I laughed when the D.D. [SPEAKER_00]: Stank scandal broke and everybody thought he was having like eyes, wide shits, oranges. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right, right. [SPEAKER_00]: On forty-second streets. [SPEAKER_00]: It's at Brianna's and I was like, no, if he'd done that, we'd all know. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Like what we found out through the trial is it was him, Cassie, and a sex worker and a tripod. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: That was it. [SPEAKER_00]: It was three people in a room, two of which weren't talking. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, um, [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, to digress to that, do you think we're going to hear Justin Bieber's having his meltdown because of all that? [SPEAKER_01]: No, because the tapes would come out. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Would have those tapes? [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think we're done with that conversation with the question about Justin Bieber still a conversation that I think people are going to have? [SPEAKER_00]: But I don't think it's indeed related, but it's still an isn't during a while when you said this is as big as water guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Rachel, this drip drip drip, the first rule of PR is just don't pull the information. [SPEAKER_00]: Or even the bad. [SPEAKER_00]: Just do it once. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: And then you can move on. [SPEAKER_00]: We've talked about celebrities bouncing back and having careers, Michael Vic and the, you know, who've done terrible things. [SPEAKER_00]: They should just... But you're so right. [SPEAKER_00]: Just get out there. [SPEAKER_01]: And then again, once you live with no skeletons in your closet, it's so much better. [SPEAKER_01]: It is better. [SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to have anything. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you keep your big secret? [SPEAKER_00]: Was it months or years? [SPEAKER_01]: It was, you know, a year. [SPEAKER_01]: But don't forget, I felt like my life was secrets because I was covering up. [SPEAKER_01]: I had other people's secrets. [SPEAKER_01]: So it didn't seem all that much different. [SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, I just felt like everything was one big secret. [SPEAKER_01]: So I felt like it was years. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you have secrets before? [SPEAKER_00]: I grew up with secret. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so to remember, I dated P.K. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all comes play. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was a secret because he was getting divorced from a Loretta his first wife. [SPEAKER_01]: I hate bringing it up because people talked to me about it all the time because he's on the house wisely. [SPEAKER_01]: Beverly Hills or whatever was. [SPEAKER_01]: But like, P.K. [SPEAKER_01]: is a great guy. [SPEAKER_01]: Great guy. [SPEAKER_01]: I have nothing bad to say about him never well, but he was a client of mine when I worked in the nightclub industry. [SPEAKER_01]: And for a year, we were just friends and he was a client. [SPEAKER_01]: And then somehow I fell in love with him because he was so charming. [SPEAKER_01]: And he is a charming guy. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: You know, now I forget why I was talking about this. [SPEAKER_00]: We talked about secrets. [SPEAKER_01]: So I felt like I couldn't tell people about that because he was a client. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and he spent like four hundred and fifty thousand dollars in my club probably to get my attention. [SPEAKER_01]: And also he was divorced. [SPEAKER_01]: It's not fine. [SPEAKER_01]: Final from Loretta and he cared about his kids so much. [SPEAKER_01]: Those three kids that he never talks about now because they're now he deals with Doreak's kids that he has with them. [SPEAKER_01]: But you know, and also don't forget you remember the, um, [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God, David Boryonis. [SPEAKER_01]: Didn't, I got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Of all your boyfriend's, I thought he was the cutest. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, he was cute, but he was a total dick. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, he, listen, I sound like an idiot saying, but I'm very smart. [SPEAKER_01]: But at the time, again, I was running, and I club, he comes in, we meet, and he's obsessed with me. [SPEAKER_01]: From the moment he looks at me with those eyes, like in Buffy, the vampire's layer, he's like, you know, the one. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, oh my God, me, like, what do you mean? [SPEAKER_01]: and I didn't watch Buffy the Vampires layer and I didn't know any of that that I knew who he was and he acted like he was in love with me and had been his whole life and he said [SPEAKER_01]: I want you to know my wife and I are getting a divorce. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm we live in the same home. [SPEAKER_01]: I live in the garage because he had a son with her and they were close and it was all amicable. [SPEAKER_01]: So we were hot and heavy from that minute and then it come I come to find out she's pregnant and he says I just want you to know it happened before you know when something went [SPEAKER_01]: whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's going to be fine. [SPEAKER_01]: And we're just going to be amicable. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was like the thing with Tom Brady. [SPEAKER_01]: Remember when he had a baby with Bridget and he would already had already moved on and was dating. [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm thinking, all right, fine. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm traveling with him. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to London. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing all sorts of things. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not hiding that he's with me. [SPEAKER_01]: He's taking pictures with me. [SPEAKER_01]: Next thing I know TMZ is breaking the story that he's in the hospital with his wife, forget her name, Laura, maybe. [SPEAKER_01]: And they're terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: I feel bad that I don't remember her name. [SPEAKER_01]: And I find out that they're fully together. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was the mistress. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, well, I could've got to hang me. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's amazing to me how people think. [SPEAKER_00]: And you don't have to be a superstar to think this, that you can keep these secrets. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: It's arrogant. [SPEAKER_01]: But it was arrogance that he thought he could do anything. [SPEAKER_01]: And by the way, he had cheated on her a million times. [SPEAKER_01]: I found out later. [SPEAKER_01]: And she had found out. [SPEAKER_01]: And they had also to problems. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think the baby was the resurrection of their relationship. [SPEAKER_01]: I think there's another conspiracy where because with all the money he has, I think that there was another body that was killed. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it was someone else and I think he is somewhere. [SPEAKER_00]: you think he got a hat. [SPEAKER_01]: I do. [SPEAKER_01]: I do think that. [SPEAKER_01]: Why would he kill himself? [SPEAKER_01]: Why would he think it's over? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he had similar to Diddy. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the idea that it's never relevant. [SPEAKER_00]: We're going to figure a way out. [SPEAKER_01]: And if someone killed him, why haven't they killed Gillian? [SPEAKER_01]: Because she has the same information. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: So to me, I think he got a [SPEAKER_00]: I, when Harvey Weinstein went to prison, I said to a friend of mine who worked with Harvey, who knew Harvey, I said, he'll kill himself. [SPEAKER_00]: And they said, narcissists don't kill themselves. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't. [SPEAKER_00]: They always think again, they'll be the sister. [SPEAKER_01]: They think they're going to leave. [SPEAKER_00]: And like, that's where Harvey's done. [SPEAKER_00]: He's kept fighting, fighting like, did he? [SPEAKER_00]: He's going to keep fighting. [SPEAKER_00]: part of that club. [SPEAKER_00]: And so for him to kill himself is an anomaly. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, something that is hard to explain. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when I saw him a Victoria secrets, he was like a kind of charming. [SPEAKER_00]: It was not ogling young girls, but I think that [SPEAKER_00]: He, that wasn't a place where he could be that powerful. [SPEAKER_00]: It was about getting people alone and getting people to his island. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: He was more powerful to show how much he had and what. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it is a weird world. [SPEAKER_01]: And so you broke or I saw that you were saying Trump may pardon her. [SPEAKER_01]: Do you believe that that's I think it's already happened. [SPEAKER_01]: What kind of an idiot? [SPEAKER_01]: What that is such a dumb move that everyone's really gonna think he's guilty. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't you think? [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Donald plays by the rules that everybody else does. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that's a terrible luck even if you're a huge magazine. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought I thought partying people on January six. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a terrible luck and it clearly wasn't. [SPEAKER_01]: But the Magga people thought that they thought that was on their behalf. [SPEAKER_01]: But do you think they will agree with this moment? [SPEAKER_00]: No, I think for the first time I have a Teflon Don, who is just placed by different rules. [SPEAKER_00]: Two or three of the scandals who had had would bring down any other celebrity and nothing seems to stick to him. [SPEAKER_00]: Epstein is sticking. [SPEAKER_00]: There's something about this and his base. [SPEAKER_00]: that is not going away. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think this is a base that believes in conspiracy theories, believes in powerful people getting away with stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's some truth to that. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot of truth to that. [SPEAKER_00]: And so this plays into that. [SPEAKER_00]: But I believe you'll aim will get apart. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's new reporting today that duty will. [SPEAKER_00]: the elf and Donald were close in in the nineties and so they're saying now he might give powerful pardon which on the surface looks so crazy why would you do that maybe to to gin up support in in the black community maybe but I don't know what the lane [SPEAKER_00]: what the lane, the benefit us, unless the benefit is that she keeps an eye on shots. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And it could be that. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, see, I only think the reason to do it is to open her mouth. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you only partner to say, okay, but we want all the details, you know, but for him, it's. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but we don't get details about that. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: So not as like you can name everybody else. [SPEAKER_01]: And probably, and that's what he does best, right, deflected. [SPEAKER_01]: So he may say, listen, Clintons. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll part, I'll part you. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But I want you to implicate everyone else. [SPEAKER_01]: And I want you to actually come out and say, I had nothing to do with this. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's my prediction. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's always it happens. [SPEAKER_00]: My Trump sources. [SPEAKER_00]: It's amazing because I don't do politics like something. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's celebrities. [SPEAKER_00]: But Donald is a celebrity. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been to Trump Tower. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been with Melania. [SPEAKER_00]: I know the Trumps because they were celebrities. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, reality stars. [SPEAKER_00]: And so it's like if Jennifer Anderson became president, I'd be an expert. [SPEAKER_00]: present actual report in because because of Jen or if like you've got to ask you to get what's in the Senate I'd be a great Senate report because I understand that world of celebrities and so even though I don't do a lot of reporting on the Trumps I have great sources in there you know I've been in Trump tired as they've got they've got a convey about what's it called a turn style yeah [SPEAKER_00]: So when you drive in, your car spins around and spits back out. [SPEAKER_00]: So I know the inner workings of Trump Tower, probably better than many political reporters. [SPEAKER_00]: Donald Trump sued me once. [SPEAKER_00]: Like when he was a celebrity, he sued me. [SPEAKER_00]: I interviewed Marla Baypoles on camera. [SPEAKER_00]: It was like this. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it wasn't in a Starbucks. [SPEAKER_00]: stalking her, I didn't follow her into a bush and recorder. [SPEAKER_00]: We were on a TV show with cameras and she told me about him running for president. [SPEAKER_00]: This is long before he ran. [SPEAKER_00]: I think she said he wouldn't do it because of the kids and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I got a legal letter from Michael Cohen. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's like, it's a camera. [SPEAKER_00]: They didn't care, they're still going to suit. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like, but... So did you have to take it down? [SPEAKER_00]: No, we'd never, I was Mark Cuban's network, and Mark Cuban had as much money, maybe more as Donald Trump for the time. [SPEAKER_00]: So it ultimately didn't come down. [SPEAKER_00]: So Donald has had this sort of amazing history of threatening lawsuits, and then he never falls through on that. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right. [SPEAKER_00]: But the threat often can make it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you can settle, you can, but we didn't back down. [SPEAKER_00]: But... [SPEAKER_00]: that the Trump stuff is so interesting to me because we know this world, he would come to your clubs. [SPEAKER_00]: He would hang out in places we would go. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd be at dinner parties. [SPEAKER_00]: And before he was the president, when Donald turned up, people always thought he was tacky. [SPEAKER_00]: People always thought he was vulgar, but he was great fun. [SPEAKER_01]: He was so fun. [SPEAKER_01]: But people don't realize they're fun. [SPEAKER_00]: But it invited me. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it was him or the production company, but I went to the season premiere, the finale of the apprentice, which was a live taping. [SPEAKER_00]: I think Joan Rivers won. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was so much fun to be there. [SPEAKER_00]: Now you can't say that without obsessing a lot of people. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, right. [SPEAKER_00]: But he was like a joke in a good way in New York. [SPEAKER_01]: He was like called me and he asked me to be on the apprentice. [SPEAKER_01]: And then I had lunch with Michael Cohen. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course. [SPEAKER_01]: and Michael Cohen told me the whole thing, this is how it's going to be. [SPEAKER_01]: And I forget who the girl was. [SPEAKER_01]: And I've run into Michael a few times. [SPEAKER_01]: We keep trying to remember we thought it was Britney Spears. [SPEAKER_01]: It was someone who they were going to have as like my nemesis. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's very thought out like that, which I didn't know. [SPEAKER_00]: They plot it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the Grizzly's great TV and what Donald's learned about being the president. [SPEAKER_00]: He treats the presidency like a television show. [SPEAKER_00]: And every day we get a new episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: He's brilliant. [SPEAKER_00]: He's funny. [SPEAKER_00]: He's funny. [SPEAKER_00]: They know you're going to hate her. [SPEAKER_00]: If we put two pretty girls in the day, well, hey, to two gay guys in and then they'll fight over them. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, just it's like it's socially engineered. [SPEAKER_00]: And you can see them pulling the strings and they do it. [SPEAKER_00]: You wouldn't be good on me, apprentice. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I ended up choosing to do was filming the same time as celebrity rehab. [SPEAKER_01]: And I really felt to connection with Dr. Drew. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was really having a hard time. [SPEAKER_01]: The whole world hated me. [SPEAKER_01]: And so I felt like I need to go into a place where I can really figure out what's happening plus they decided to pay me four hundred thousand dollars. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank you very much. [SPEAKER_01]: And the apprentice, it was favorite nations. [SPEAKER_01]: They gave you twenty five thousand, whatever it was. [SPEAKER_01]: But I was doing it for the Red Cross. [SPEAKER_01]: I would have been the first person that my charity would have been the Red Cross. [SPEAKER_01]: And I really believed in that. [SPEAKER_01]: And they had helped me. [SPEAKER_01]: They gave me a hundred thousand dollars when my fiance died. [SPEAKER_01]: And I used that to buy an apartment. [SPEAKER_01]: It was amazing because I got kicked out of my apartment because Andy was paying rent. [SPEAKER_00]: That's when you first popped on my radar, it was nine to eleven. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we're on the cover of the daily. [SPEAKER_01]: I was on the cover of every single newspaper in the world. [SPEAKER_00]: It was really beautiful. [SPEAKER_00]: Like so media. [SPEAKER_01]: It was like New York's tragic face, the New York House, put it out. [SPEAKER_01]: And you have that picture frame. [SPEAKER_01]: not well not framed. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's an iconic photo of the museum. [SPEAKER_01]: That's how it's everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: And that same photo ran on every single paper in the world. [SPEAKER_01]: So every September, eleven, someone from as far as New Zealand will call and a new subject. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to give it up. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we say no, let's be on your resume forever. [SPEAKER_00]: Like Tiger World, that world. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you remember we were having drinks at Batino? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: This little restaurant in Chelsea. [SPEAKER_00]: And we left in this paparazzi outside. [SPEAKER_00]: And you kissed me. [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Like you kiss me, and then afraid to bite at the post. [SPEAKER_00]: Rachel's texting me. [SPEAKER_00]: Rachel's doing that. [SPEAKER_00]: And the photo editor was like, I'm sure there's a big old guy. [SPEAKER_00]: I think they're like, you do know. [SPEAKER_00]: I laughed at him. [SPEAKER_00]: But that was how immediate. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, within twenty minutes that picture was on the photo desk of the New York Post. [SPEAKER_00]: And had I been straight, I would be going to the cover. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And probably people were like, oh, you're the guy that used to date Rachel, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Quickly, before we add, I just want to ask about Hulk Hogan. [SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, you died this week. [SPEAKER_01]: It's terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: What is the deal? [SPEAKER_01]: I saw that two or three years ago, his daughter Brooke had taken herself out of the will because she did not like the incoming life. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm told that all the money's going to the new wife, that the children are not in the will. [SPEAKER_00]: I think this though. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it sounds really dramatic because we know that family because of reality TV. [SPEAKER_00]: So you think a punk lit the wife on TV in the two kids. [SPEAKER_00]: But life moves on. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're divorced, you get your divorce, you figure out your settlement and you move on. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't expect my help. [SPEAKER_00]: the public might expect it because we know you were a couple. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, when my brother got divorced, they figured it out and he's not going to leave anything but he dies to his first wife. [SPEAKER_00]: And so I don't know why we would expect this to be any otherwise, all his money is going to go to. [SPEAKER_00]: I think in him sky, the wife, they seem pretty happy together. [SPEAKER_00]: She seems sweet. [SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to like rebuild their lives. [SPEAKER_00]: I think the sun is going to try and pick up the WW in the baton of his dad. [SPEAKER_00]: It's very hard when kids try to step into their parents. [SPEAKER_00]: They never can. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember who would have [SPEAKER_00]: Who ever has been bigger than their parent? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe you could argue maybe lies up in LA, but Judy Garland's pretty big. [SPEAKER_00]: But there's very few, like a donness kid, so they're never going to be whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Remember, Muhammad Ali is dodged, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I think that I'm quite. [SPEAKER_00]: I know if my mom, my dad was a boxer or my mom was my daughter, I don't have a flower shop, like I'm not getting addicted to this thing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not getting addicted to boxing. [SPEAKER_00]: So yes, all the money, but it's not as much money as I told the estate's back, twenty-five million. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of money there, but it's not hundreds and hundreds of millions. [SPEAKER_01]: Right, okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Any other story that you want to break? [SPEAKER_00]: Can I just talk about my new crush, my silly Lauren Sanchez? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so obsessed with Jeff Bezos and a lot of sadgers. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it's about them. [SPEAKER_00]: I do know what it's about them. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, first of all, he looks great. [SPEAKER_00]: He looks great. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And she looks... No, no, no. [SPEAKER_00]: I love. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't pretend to be anyone they're not. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't tone it down and they don't care. [SPEAKER_00]: They are rich. [SPEAKER_00]: And they look so rich. [SPEAKER_00]: And she looks... And he likes... Look, look, look. [SPEAKER_00]: And I just... It's the author. [SPEAKER_00]: Ticity, almost reminds me of the first season of a really good bravo show before they get twisted. [SPEAKER_00]: Right before they know the cameras are there. [SPEAKER_01]: I just feel like we would all love to be a fly on the walls and know what their sex life is like. [SPEAKER_01]: Because they are both injecting a lot of sex after. [SPEAKER_00]: What does that do for your sex life says that increases? [SPEAKER_00]: Increase. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure they're fucking old. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure that I hope they are. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, me too. [SPEAKER_00]: I hope for that every day. [SPEAKER_00]: And I hope she reaches over to the earnest person pulls out a scarf and says Jeffrey time here. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: They're probably very boring. [SPEAKER_00]: You're watching Netflix. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so into the daily beast, I think I get a higher and lower and a Jeffrey Porter. [SPEAKER_00]: Just to cover them. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, now that they're married, I wonder how much more, like, what's so exciting about them? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, now, remember, he bought the Bond franchise. [SPEAKER_00]: So he owns James Bond from the Bond family. [SPEAKER_00]: So maybe she'll be a Bond girl. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, good news. [SPEAKER_00]: There's rumors of him buying to network. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe she'll be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_01]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She might be a Barbie. [SPEAKER_00]: She [SPEAKER_00]: and somebody married a rich guy and, you know, and, yeah, people are cruel on women like I'm telling you. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm very glad I'm on Maggie. [SPEAKER_00]: Boy, I'm got him a gay guy, but it likes easier. [SPEAKER_01]: It's unfortunate for Megan because she moves to another country where she thinks that this is going to be the most exciting thing that's ever happened to her. [SPEAKER_01]: Everyone hated her. [SPEAKER_01]: She moves back here, then the americans hate her more than the people in your heart. [SPEAKER_00]: What do you do? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe this is a terrible comparison. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it is. [SPEAKER_00]: You will hate it. [SPEAKER_00]: What do you do when you're that much hate? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, did you see that part, Cassie did recently? [SPEAKER_00]: It was all four. [SPEAKER_01]: Why does she talk like that? [SPEAKER_01]: It just does do that. [SPEAKER_00]: Because she's not comfortable being who she is. [SPEAKER_00]: And that would be my question to her, like when I was a publicist, one of the most important questions I asked is who are you in four words? [SPEAKER_00]: Jay Lekord answer it did he could answer? [SPEAKER_00]: Who are you? [SPEAKER_01]: What do you think Jay Lekord answer? [SPEAKER_00]: Jennifer, I think it was powerful and strong. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't just want to do this. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a king. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm funny. [SPEAKER_00]: I know nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm nice. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm silly. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, just what are your words? [SPEAKER_00]: Who are you? [SPEAKER_00]: And then be those every day. [SPEAKER_00]: Write them down on a post it. [SPEAKER_00]: Stick them on your mirror and remind yourself every morning who you are in four words. [SPEAKER_00]: Who are your four words? [SPEAKER_00]: You're sexy. [SPEAKER_00]: You're smart. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, who are your four words? [SPEAKER_01]: Mine would be resilient. [SPEAKER_00]: You love resilience. [SPEAKER_00]: That's a good one. [SPEAKER_00]: And resourceful. [SPEAKER_00]: That's for words. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, there's on the mirror, and then the day she don't feel like that reminds yourself, I'm these four things. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who Megan is, and I don't think she knows. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, quick, like last many questions. [SPEAKER_01]: One celebrity you really admire. [SPEAKER_00]: I really, really love. [SPEAKER_00]: Elizabeth Taylor, because she used her celebrity to help people. [SPEAKER_00]: She took on courses that were not popular. [SPEAKER_00]: It would be very easy for her to not do aids, but to do some sort of red cross charity. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm not taking away from her process of wonderful charity, but it'd be very easy. [SPEAKER_00]: I love celebrities that are smart and I'm a gay guy. [SPEAKER_00]: I like pretty, I like beautiful women with great diamonds. [SPEAKER_01]: One celebrity who's done it completely wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Meghan Markle's probably the best example. [SPEAKER_00]: Just everything she touches, she messes up like whatever you've been looking for, whatever you think you're doing, do the opposite. [SPEAKER_00]: It's okay. [SPEAKER_00]: But it ain't working. [SPEAKER_01]: craziest rumor you regret covering or not covering. [SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, I found out once Julia Roberts had a new boyfriend and I didn't do the story. [SPEAKER_00]: Somebody begged me not to do the story and I didn't do it in ultimately the story, Kendra. [SPEAKER_01]: and was that who she's married to? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because she was cheating. [SPEAKER_00]: People forget she was married. [SPEAKER_00]: He was married? [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was a slopp. [SPEAKER_00]: I love how he, I love how history's get first. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like Ariana Grande and her boyfriend boom. [SPEAKER_00]: First of all, I went there, but Bratina, do you lead a very, very, very, very little. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's not so fuzzy. [SPEAKER_00]: I think every year. [SPEAKER_01]: Most misunderstands celebrity. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Britney Spears. [SPEAKER_00]: Just Britain. [SPEAKER_01]: Why can she have no friends? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, why is no one around her? [SPEAKER_00]: I've been around her. [SPEAKER_00]: I think she has really severe mental health issues. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think the Brittany we see on TikTok and Instagram is a real treat, Brittany. [SPEAKER_00]: So don't be surprised by that. [SPEAKER_00]: Be surprised by how polished we thought she was. [SPEAKER_00]: She never was. [SPEAKER_00]: She was manufactured. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'd argue that if Brittany wasn't Brittany, she'd probably be in a mental institution. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's just heartbreaking. [SPEAKER_01]: Last question for you. [SPEAKER_01]: What is the most misunderstood thing about you? [SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, that I am. [SPEAKER_00]: Why is it because the people don't think I'm mean? [SPEAKER_00]: I think people, this is really true for people think I'm really nice. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm nice, you're nice, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm nice, you're right, you're. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm more like, you know, I call myself not even nice. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm more naughty than nice. [SPEAKER_00]: I have to force myself to be nice. [SPEAKER_00]: Got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Not force, but I have to remind myself, what are my words on my mirror is nice. [SPEAKER_00]: I remind myself be nice. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you've always been here to me. [SPEAKER_01]: I really appreciate it. [SPEAKER_01]: I love our friendship. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm so happy you did this and it's like, yes, you are. [SPEAKER_01]: So moved back to New York. [SPEAKER_01]: Come back here. [SPEAKER_01]: Come back here. [SPEAKER_00]: Come back here. [SPEAKER_00]: Come back here. [SPEAKER_00]: Come back here. [SPEAKER_00]: Come back here.
