<v Speaker 1>This is WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre and you're listening to
<v Speaker 1>the WWE Podcast show.
<v Speaker 2>The one that everybody wants me God tell you somebody.
<v Speaker 3>Stand for sixteen so your ass's mind.
<v Speaker 1>You can acknowledge me.
<v Speaker 2>Welcome everybody to the WWE Podcast on this election Day, Tuesday,
<v Speaker 2>November fifth, twenty twenty four. I hope everyone is enjoying
<v Speaker 2>their evening. Depending on who you're voting for, of course,
<v Speaker 2>or did vote for, will depend on how you feel.
<v Speaker 2>But hopefully you take a break from all the madness,
<v Speaker 2>all the anxiety, and a lot of people out there
<v Speaker 2>have the anxiety for whatever candidate that they chose, and
<v Speaker 2>so you know, we'll hopefully get you a break from
<v Speaker 2>that and talk wrestling. We're gonna talk pro wrestling here
<v Speaker 2>and I'm going to do that in just a moment.
<v Speaker 2>But as always, I want to invite you to go
<v Speaker 2>ad free with us at Patreon dot com, slash ww
<v Speaker 2>podcast or on Apple podcast if you want to just
<v Speaker 2>get rid of the ads you hear throughout the show.
<v Speaker 2>Not a bad thing to do. So let's jump into
<v Speaker 2>pro wrestling, guys. Take you away from the anxiety ridden world,
<v Speaker 2>and let's talk about some fun stuff. Let's talk. I
<v Speaker 2>don't even know where to start. I mean, it was
<v Speaker 2>a jam pack show, crowd was hot. Let's start with Sammy, Zay,
<v Speaker 2>Jay Us and Jimmy Us, a trio that we knew
<v Speaker 2>we're going to get back together. We knew that eventually
<v Speaker 2>this would happen. But it's not as easy as it seems.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's not as easy to bring these men back
<v Speaker 2>together as really it should be. And I think WWA
<v Speaker 2>has done a nice job, especially on Raw this past week,
<v Speaker 2>of putting on some tension we saw on Crown Jewels.
<v Speaker 2>Sammy's ain't accidentally kick Roman in the face. There's still
<v Speaker 2>some kinks to be worked out. There is there are
<v Speaker 2>there are issues to still be patched up. Everything isn't
<v Speaker 2>just gonna be smooth sailing, and that makes total sense.
<v Speaker 2>I really like how they've gone about this, where it's
<v Speaker 2>been very much a realistic scenario and not everybody's just
<v Speaker 2>gonna forget everything and every you know, we're all buddy
<v Speaker 2>buddy again, and Jay rather Jimmy calling out Sammy how
<v Speaker 2>Sammy can't be trusted, and then Sammy going right after
<v Speaker 2>Jimmy and running down his record of how he can't
<v Speaker 2>be trusted, and Sammy's saying he's out, and Sammy leaves,
<v Speaker 2>and then we have Jay telling Sammy, hey, your family,
<v Speaker 2>and I hope to see you on Friday Night SmackDown
<v Speaker 2>where all four of us can have a chat. Now,
<v Speaker 2>forget about the brand split. I haven't. I know many
<v Speaker 2>people have just totally not even it's not even entering
<v Speaker 2>their mind that we aren't supposed to have Ja and
<v Speaker 2>Sammy on SmackDown, and we shouldn't have Jimmy and Roman
<v Speaker 2>on Raw. Forget all that. I mean, WW is hoping
<v Speaker 2>you won't care. I do, but it is what it is,
<v Speaker 2>and we're getting the reunion and we're getting the match
<v Speaker 2>that we all know we're going to get at Survivor
<v Speaker 2>Series that we knew eight months ago with the Roar
<v Speaker 2>Games match. But on SmackDown, it's almost going to be
<v Speaker 2>must see TV because the last time that these four
<v Speaker 2>men were in unison was what a year ago when
<v Speaker 2>they were all together maybe more, where they were all
<v Speaker 2>just in, you know, in sync with one another. It's
<v Speaker 2>been a while and it's going to be fun to
<v Speaker 2>see how do they approach one another, How does Sammy
<v Speaker 2>and Roman deal with the the accidental halluva kick delivered
<v Speaker 2>to Roman on the pl e. What issues do Samon
<v Speaker 2>and Sammy and Romans still have to hash out? That
<v Speaker 2>is the one I really want to see and all so,
<v Speaker 2>do we see the return of Paul Hayman on SmackDown?
<v Speaker 2>Is that something that we'll finally see? I think it's
<v Speaker 2>probable because he is going to be the finishing touch
<v Speaker 2>on an otherwise nearly complete OG bloodline. And I think
<v Speaker 2>it's going to be a massive ovation for Paul Haymon.
<v Speaker 2>When he comes back. Roman will be the one to
<v Speaker 2>introduce him. He's gonna look around and he's gonna, as
<v Speaker 2>I've said, my guess is or how I would do
<v Speaker 2>it to say, you know, we almost feel complete, but
<v Speaker 2>I feel like there's something missing. I feel like there's
<v Speaker 2>someone missing. I feel like we need a wise man
<v Speaker 2>bam pop through the roof. Paul Hayman's going to get
<v Speaker 2>the probably the biggest ovation he's ever gotten in his
<v Speaker 2>entire career, and it's going to be a complete bloodline.
<v Speaker 2>Paul Hamon is going to be the icing on the cake.
<v Speaker 2>And who knows, maybe even Paul Hamon gets a shot
<v Speaker 2>in at Survivors series. You know, hits solo with a
<v Speaker 2>chair or hit somebody with a on sure, a kick.
<v Speaker 2>It'd be fun to see Paul Hamon get a little offense,
<v Speaker 2>just a one or two moves, not asking him to
<v Speaker 2>do a moon salt, just an easy shot with a
<v Speaker 2>chair or some kind of retribution on the Og Blood
<v Speaker 2>or the Rogue bloodline. So anyway, that wasn't what happened
<v Speaker 2>on RAW. But I'm projecting out to SmackDown this coming
<v Speaker 2>week with Roman and all three other members of the
<v Speaker 2>Og bloodline in the ring at the same time. It's
<v Speaker 2>gonna be mussy and we're looking forward to seeing what
<v Speaker 2>that brings.
<v Speaker 1>Now.
<v Speaker 2>But all right, let's talk a little bit more about RAW.
<v Speaker 2>We're going into depth here. Starting at the top of
<v Speaker 2>the show, and we had Live Morgan come out with
<v Speaker 2>Raquel and Dom while being introduced by Mike Rome and
<v Speaker 2>Morgan's at her Revenge Tour is officially over. Now she's
<v Speaker 2>on her world tour. That's nice. It tells you that
<v Speaker 2>she's in a new chapter of her career. Right the
<v Speaker 2>Revenge Tour is over. She's destroidery Ripley. You know, her
<v Speaker 2>orbital bone and around her eye has been shattered and
<v Speaker 2>all the rest, So yes live and Rhea's Story's not over,
<v Speaker 2>but it is for now. So she said she's done
<v Speaker 2>everything she ever said she would do, and she claimed
<v Speaker 2>to be the greatest Women's Champion of all time, and
<v Speaker 2>Don was interrupted. As always, we get Jade Cargill coming out,
<v Speaker 2>and I was hopeful for a moment that, holy crap,
<v Speaker 2>are we actually going to have a Jade Cargill one
<v Speaker 2>on one match? Is that something WW would dare do?
<v Speaker 2>Yet after they acquired her feels like two years ago now,
<v Speaker 2>so that I thought, for a moment, then might do that.
<v Speaker 2>And then no, wait kidding, Here comes Bianca bell Air
<v Speaker 2>and yes they're tag team champions, but we've seen many
<v Speaker 2>instances where tag team champions still compete in a singles
<v Speaker 2>match on television. That's not uncommon, but they didn't do
<v Speaker 2>that here. If she has her crutch, Bionca Belle Air,
<v Speaker 2>and my god, I need Bianca to do something. She
<v Speaker 2>is just a I'm getting to the point where I
<v Speaker 2>feel like they're wasting Bianca's best years because she's been
<v Speaker 2>at the back of the line, or rather in the background.
<v Speaker 2>I think there's better way to put it. Bianca Bellair
<v Speaker 2>has been in the background of the women's division for
<v Speaker 2>way too long now, and she's too damn good to
<v Speaker 2>be back there. They if the Jade Cargill thing ain't happening,
<v Speaker 2>and then it's not happening, let's go. Bianca Bella Air
<v Speaker 2>has been in the shadows of the women's division. That
<v Speaker 2>needs to change because if not, they're hoping that Jade
<v Speaker 2>Cargill is going to be the next uh, you know,
<v Speaker 2>future inductee into the Hall of Fame down the line.
<v Speaker 2>Right now, she's not even she she's not even in
<v Speaker 2>the whispers of the most faint uh hopes that she
<v Speaker 2>is in the Hall of Fame right now, she is
<v Speaker 2>nowhere near it. She shouldn't even be uttered in the
<v Speaker 2>same sentence as hall of fame. But that's what they
<v Speaker 2>in this investment of Bianca bell Air helping out Jay Cargill. However,
<v Speaker 2>let's continue on here, we have bel Air said they
<v Speaker 2>haven't forgotten about the confrontation from last week, and Cargill
<v Speaker 2>said if they wanted a piece of the Tag team champions,
<v Speaker 2>that was their chance, or this was their chance. Morgan
<v Speaker 2>questioned why they were so angry after successfully defending their
<v Speaker 2>titles and asked if it's because Bellair thinks she's the best.
<v Speaker 2>Then said, Cargill thinks the same thing about herself, and
<v Speaker 2>she's trying to sew seeds of dissent between bell Air
<v Speaker 2>and Cargill, which we could only hope, but it doesn't
<v Speaker 2>look like that's happening. And then Morgan said, bel Air
<v Speaker 2>and Cargill pretend to get along, whereas she and Rodriguez
<v Speaker 2>have a real friendship. That's when Adam Pierce comes down
<v Speaker 2>and he's he's on like level ten. He's on level
<v Speaker 2>ten because I guess what Randy Orton did to him
<v Speaker 2>at the plee. But he's to the ring like these
<v Speaker 2>two women were, you know, armed with you know, shotguns.
<v Speaker 2>The tension between the tag team, the Women's Tag Team
<v Speaker 2>Champions and Rodriguez and Morgan did not warrant the reaction
<v Speaker 2>of Adam Pierce. It didn't jive. I mean that's how
<v Speaker 2>he acts when you have like a seth Rollins and
<v Speaker 2>Bronson Reid interaction that they're just like, no, we're not
<v Speaker 2>doing this. It's like, Okay, these are just four women.
<v Speaker 2>They're not going to kill each other. That they're not
<v Speaker 2>you know, they're not armed with any anything that could
<v Speaker 2>do a lot of damage. His reaction was just a
<v Speaker 2>little bit over the top for the situation, but we
<v Speaker 2>did have him announce a Battle Royal to determine the
<v Speaker 2>number one contender of the Women's World Championship. He also
<v Speaker 2>said bel Air and Cargo are going to be in
<v Speaker 2>that rumble, the Battle Royal, I should say, and that
<v Speaker 2>it would start right now. So in this we had
<v Speaker 2>Kyrie saying Eo Sky, Sonya, Deville, Shanna, bezer Lywer, Valkyria, Zelina, Vega, Natalia, Maxine,
<v Speaker 2>pre Caden, Carter, Katana, Chance, Ivy, Nile, Alba, Fire and
<v Speaker 2>eilid On. And if you think I remembered all of
<v Speaker 2>those just from my own memory, you are dreaming I'm
<v Speaker 2>reading off of my screen right now. Okay, I'm nearly
<v Speaker 2>not even close to that smart so okay, but this
<v Speaker 2>Battle Royal here lasted twelve minutes and forty seconds, to
<v Speaker 2>be exact, and I think the right person won here,
<v Speaker 2>the right person won, and sure the match I don't
<v Speaker 2>know how I knew anyone could say, Really, a Battle
<v Speaker 2>Royal is ever a good match. It's it's never really
<v Speaker 2>ever one that you just knocks your socks off. It's
<v Speaker 2>just a it's the poor man's royal Rumbles what it is,
<v Speaker 2>and it was fine. It came down to Sky in Valkyria.
<v Speaker 2>There was some back and forth and then the finishing
<v Speaker 2>touch was Sky hitting a German suplex on the apron
<v Speaker 2>lyra Valkia fellow the floor. She was eliminated. Eosky wins
<v Speaker 2>and I like this, I really like this. But the
<v Speaker 2>crowd didn't. They were very very quiet when Eo Sky
<v Speaker 2>won this, and so I felt for Eoski in that moment.
<v Speaker 2>But really, what is her character done lately that would
<v Speaker 2>warrant a massive reaction? The answer is nothing. So while
<v Speaker 2>the crowd was into the match, they weren't into the winner.
<v Speaker 2>And that's a little bit unfortunate. But I don't you know,
<v Speaker 2>I'm not worried about it. This is still Saudi Arabia.
<v Speaker 2>We're getting back to regularly scheduling, schedule programming by going
<v Speaker 2>back to the United States. So I'm not worried about it.
<v Speaker 2>So Eosky wins. And then the reason I say it's
<v Speaker 2>the right answer, of the right decision to have Eo
<v Speaker 2>Sky win is because every time she's on a big stage,
<v Speaker 2>she delivers. Yes, her run is SmackDown Women's Champion when
<v Speaker 2>it still was the SmackDown Women's Championship was very underwhelming,
<v Speaker 2>and that had a lot to do more with the
<v Speaker 2>booking and the way that she was positioned by Creative
<v Speaker 2>of being a back roll character taking a back seat
<v Speaker 2>to other storylines. I mean, that's not her fault, but
<v Speaker 2>every time she's put out a big stage, like she
<v Speaker 2>was with Bailey at WrestleMania, they kill it. She kills it.
<v Speaker 2>So her match is going to be a lot of
<v Speaker 2>fun when she does have it with liv Morgan, and
<v Speaker 2>I think there's gonna be some people who believe that
<v Speaker 2>she can win. And is this a babyface term for
<v Speaker 2>EO Sky Maybe temporarily, but they need to find an
<v Speaker 2>identity for EO. She's too damn good to keep out
<v Speaker 2>of the ring, all right, So we got more tension
<v Speaker 2>with the New Day backstage. She said they would have
<v Speaker 2>won the Number one Contenders match last week, but Chad
<v Speaker 2>Gable got involved, and Kingston said the Raiders didn't win
<v Speaker 2>straight up, but he didn't think that was the issue.
<v Speaker 2>Woods then asked him what his problem is?
<v Speaker 3>All right?
<v Speaker 2>We got a WYAT six video then airing, and it
<v Speaker 2>showed old footage of the Miz, telling Bo Dallas and
<v Speaker 2>Curtis Axel that he would make them stars and that
<v Speaker 2>their families would be proud of them. Then Ms was
<v Speaker 2>seated in a chair wearing a mask, and Dallas spoke
<v Speaker 2>and removed the mask and a piece of tape from
<v Speaker 2>Miss's mouth. Mis said, he's not with Final Testament. It's
<v Speaker 2>all the big misunderstanding. Dallas laughed and said that the
<v Speaker 2>and put the tape over Miss's mouth again, and Dallas
<v Speaker 2>said they never cared about the Final Testament. They wanted Miss,
<v Speaker 2>and he said, for Dust you are, and Dust you
<v Speaker 2>will return. And so the Mizz is being held captive. Sure,
<v Speaker 2>he's abducted, and it's fine. No one cares apparently from
<v Speaker 2>a management spanpoint anyway. But we then had Goldberg on
<v Speaker 2>a footage of him airing on a college pre show
<v Speaker 2>saying he's going to have a retirement match. Sure, I
<v Speaker 2>already talked about that at length on my previous show
<v Speaker 2>or two about my really just kind of my disinterest
<v Speaker 2>or really, you know, it's not even maybe disinterested, it's
<v Speaker 2>just I guess apathetic reaction to that. As I've said,
<v Speaker 2>a Goldberg run in is the same equivalency of the
<v Speaker 2>number of moves he does in an actual match. So anyway,
<v Speaker 2>I could have just done with a run in and
<v Speaker 2>the spear and a good old nostalgic moment for those
<v Speaker 2>WCW fans. All right, So we then got the New
<v Speaker 2>Day versus war Raiders, Eric and Ivar. This match was
<v Speaker 2>nine and minutes in change, which ended with war Raiders
<v Speaker 2>getting the victory. The finish here was Kingston coming into
<v Speaker 2>the ring, putting Eric down before hitting a boom drop.
<v Speaker 2>Kingston was setting up for his finish. That's when Woods
<v Speaker 2>came onto the apron tagged himself in. That's always one
<v Speaker 2>of the telltale sides of a crumbling tag team. When
<v Speaker 2>the partner has an advantage and things are going well
<v Speaker 2>and the other tag team partner tags himself in. That's
<v Speaker 2>always a telltale sign. And then Ivar put Woods down
<v Speaker 2>and tagged out and then tagged out. The war Raiders
<v Speaker 2>hit the war Machine finish and got the victory. Continues
<v Speaker 2>to drive a wedge between Kingston and Woods and I'm
<v Speaker 2>all for it, baby, all right. Sammy's ain comes out
<v Speaker 2>and I already went through this. He's spoke in their language,
<v Speaker 2>and Jay comes out. Jimmy comes out and I kind
<v Speaker 2>of went through this already and it was well done.
<v Speaker 2>Sammy's ain. I don't know if he's ever cut a
<v Speaker 2>promo that doesn't involve him yelling. So that's a thing.
<v Speaker 2>He's got the Dolf Ziggler effect or the Nick Namath effect.
<v Speaker 2>Every promo that he ever does, ever, has to be screaming.
<v Speaker 2>In the ring, everything's yelling all the time, which he
<v Speaker 2>doesn't have an annoying voice, and he's very well spoken
<v Speaker 2>in the faces love him. But at the same time,
<v Speaker 2>everything can't be at a level ten. And that's just
<v Speaker 2>his deal. And he's been he's a successful guy, so
<v Speaker 2>there is that. And it's just my personal preference not
<v Speaker 2>to always go from zero to one hundred, all right,
<v Speaker 2>because here's the thing. When you yell, then it means something.
<v Speaker 2>But if you're not yelling, it's like, oh, he doesn't
<v Speaker 2>have his regular promo voice on. I shouldn't feel like
<v Speaker 2>your regular promo voice is yelling. That shouldn't be your default.
<v Speaker 2>But what the hell do I know? I'm just a fan, okay.
<v Speaker 2>Jackie Redman then interviewed Seth outside the building congratulated him
<v Speaker 2>on his win over Bronson, Reid and Rollins. Put over
<v Speaker 2>Reed for taking everything he had and getting up for more.
<v Speaker 2>Rolind said he has no doubt that he and Reid
<v Speaker 2>will do the dance again, but he has gold on
<v Speaker 2>his mind, and Rollin said the three of the best
<v Speaker 2>in the world and Dominic Wostereo would fight it out
<v Speaker 2>in the main event. All right, So then we get
<v Speaker 2>Dragon Lee versus Chad Gable with Selenavega and Ivy and
<v Speaker 2>Ile at ringside and twelve minute match. The twelve minute match.
<v Speaker 2>Not a ton of selling in this match, as you'd imagine,
<v Speaker 2>very much, just kind of gymnastics performance, but hell of
<v Speaker 2>an athletic match if you're into that, and that's kind
<v Speaker 2>of what pro wrestling has transformed into over the last decade.
<v Speaker 2>Dragonly did beat Chad Gable, though in twelve minutes. This
<v Speaker 2>is the finish which I like to present every time.
<v Speaker 2>In case you didn't see it, Ray Mysterio comes out,
<v Speaker 2>caused Nile to release the hold, and Ray checked on
<v Speaker 2>Vega and Gable grabbed Ray while Ivy Nile distracted the referee.
<v Speaker 2>Ray kicked Gable and then Dragon hit Operation Dragon and
<v Speaker 2>got the victory. So I don't know what this means,
<v Speaker 2>probably nothing, but you still get a very good wrestling match.
<v Speaker 2>I do worry about Chad Gable right now, who's kind
<v Speaker 2>of faded into the background over the last several weeks.
<v Speaker 2>He was on fire with American Maid and his his
<v Speaker 2>his whole rivalry with the with Otis really fell flat.
<v Speaker 2>I can't believe we still haven't got a finish to that.
<v Speaker 2>The whole build, the entire build. Remember when he was
<v Speaker 2>abusing physically and emotionally and mentally Maxine dupre and and
<v Speaker 2>and Otis. Remember that for weeks and weeks and weeks
<v Speaker 2>and the big payoff guys, Otis shoved down Chad. Can
<v Speaker 2>you believe it? I'm sorry, this is a this is
<v Speaker 2>a big drop ball. I mean, if Chad doesn't have
<v Speaker 2>much to do right now, go back to that. Give
<v Speaker 2>us some some reminders, some video packages. W's got a
<v Speaker 2>world class video editing team. You're telling me you can't
<v Speaker 2>jack up some of those pieces of footage. Have them
<v Speaker 2>talk about it again and at least have a match too.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, it's again, You'll never be able to get
<v Speaker 2>back to the peak of Otis's support from the crowd
<v Speaker 2>and waiting for him to just clock Chad Gable in
<v Speaker 2>the face. But it's just it's it's just crazy. We
<v Speaker 2>haven't got that. It's crazy. You just it's like a
<v Speaker 2>sneeze that never happened, you know what I mean. And
<v Speaker 2>then it's super annoying, right, you can feel the sneeze coming.
<v Speaker 2>You're waiting for it, and you're waiting for that release
<v Speaker 2>because it's just it's just like, ah, that's much better,
<v Speaker 2>and it's just huh huh, and you just like it's
<v Speaker 2>kind of like a half not even half a sneeze.
<v Speaker 2>It's just kind of like withers away, and you're like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>it's so disappointing and you can't get it back. That's
<v Speaker 2>how this feels. The Chad Gable otis feud. I'm the
<v Speaker 2>only one talking about this, but it's not I'm not
<v Speaker 2>gonna lose sleep over it, not gonna scream about it.
<v Speaker 2>I'm just disappointed, is all because I know that they
<v Speaker 2>could have still and I guess they still could have
<v Speaker 2>a really good couple of matches, okay. Jackie Redman then
<v Speaker 2>interviewed Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser. Kaiser caught off a question
<v Speaker 2>about Gunther losing a Crown jewel, and Gunther cut off
<v Speaker 2>Kaiser saying that though while he and Cody disagree on
<v Speaker 2>a lot of things, Cody wasn't lucky and he's not undeserving.
<v Speaker 2>He said that on that night, Cody was the better man,
<v Speaker 2>and on the fatal four way shot for the title,
<v Speaker 2>Gunther said there would be of three very capable performers
<v Speaker 2>and dom Guntherer mentioned Seamus, then looked at Kaiser and
<v Speaker 2>recalled him, saying that Kaiser wanted to take care of things.
<v Speaker 2>Gunther said it's on him and to be better. Then
<v Speaker 2>looked at Kaiser and said both have to be better.
<v Speaker 1>Now.
<v Speaker 2>Many people have speculated this could be the start of
<v Speaker 2>a baby face turn for Gunther. I hope not. The
<v Speaker 2>reason I say that is not that I don't support Gunther.
<v Speaker 2>I a massive supporter of Gunther. I just don't think
<v Speaker 2>they've gotten everything out of his heel character. Yet switching
<v Speaker 2>him to a good guy is not going to come
<v Speaker 2>naturally for fans yet. Now. The Kaiser Gunther relationship has
<v Speaker 2>been frayed pretty severely over the last few months. Sometimes
<v Speaker 2>they're together, sometimes they're not. You can hear their tension
<v Speaker 2>backstage and their promos undercutting each other. Am I ready
<v Speaker 2>for Kaiser and gun through to break up maybe, and
<v Speaker 2>maybe that's eventually how he loses it Kaiser screws Gun through.
<v Speaker 2>But Gun there right now is in a good position
<v Speaker 2>where you have top babyfaces coming after you, like Seth Rollins.
<v Speaker 2>Although he's still tied up with Bronson Reid for now,
<v Speaker 2>you have eventually see him Punk coming after you. You
<v Speaker 2>have Damian Priest. We'll talk about that. So there's still
<v Speaker 2>some juice left to squeeze out of his heel run.
<v Speaker 2>So I don't want him just suddenly turning into a
<v Speaker 2>babyface over the next couple of months. I wouldn't even
<v Speaker 2>entertain it until past Russell Manya forty one. But again
<v Speaker 2>my own opinion here. Okay, we then had Seth Rollins
<v Speaker 2>versus Damian Priest versus Seamus and Dominic Mysterio in a
<v Speaker 2>fatal four way for a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship.
<v Speaker 2>So I really enjoyed this match. I think that it
<v Speaker 2>could have I mean, if you put this on a
<v Speaker 2>ple I think you they could have easily Maine event
<v Speaker 2>to the show. I mean, yes, even Dominant Mysterio. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>this was the makings of I think of hell of
<v Speaker 2>a pl matchup. But we got this to decide who's
<v Speaker 2>going to face Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship, and
<v Speaker 2>that person was Damian Priest. In about seventeen and a
<v Speaker 2>half minutes, we had even you know, it's even cool
<v Speaker 2>to see Seamus in there, a guy that has been
<v Speaker 2>largely forgotten in the main event scene has really reached
<v Speaker 2>the legacy part of his career, Hall of Famer I think,
<v Speaker 2>And it's just yeah, well, I don't think Seamus has
<v Speaker 2>a ton of years left in him and you don't
<v Speaker 2>ever really think that he's going to be at the
<v Speaker 2>top of the card again. It is cool to see that,
<v Speaker 2>you know, he can main event anytime he wants, and
<v Speaker 2>he is just a hell of a specimen and a
<v Speaker 2>warhorse for the company and one that I don't think
<v Speaker 2>gets a whole lot of attention. What I like to
<v Speaker 2>see Gunther and Seamus one more time, sure, I think.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, that's what really put Gunther on the map
<v Speaker 2>and a lot of people's minds is the shamous match
<v Speaker 2>matches that they had, their series of matches. My god,
<v Speaker 2>the chess welts is what really comes to mind. It's
<v Speaker 2>the first image you have of those matches and the
<v Speaker 2>chess chops in my just man, so seeing those two
<v Speaker 2>lockhorns one more time would have been a lot of fun.
<v Speaker 2>Not yet, as Damian Priest wins here and the finish
<v Speaker 2>was Dom hitting a frog splash on Seamus had him
<v Speaker 2>beat presumably, and then Priest broke it up. Dom hit
<v Speaker 2>Priest with a six to one nine and then fouled
<v Speaker 2>up with the frog splash attempt, but Priest caught him
<v Speaker 2>and gave him South of Heaven. Priest covered Dom and
<v Speaker 2>got the three counts. So Damian Priest defeated Dom, Seamus
<v Speaker 2>and seth Rollins in a fatal four way. And after
<v Speaker 2>the match, Gunther came in the ring went face to
<v Speaker 2>face with Priest. Cole said Priest will get his rematch
<v Speaker 2>quote somewhere down the road. Gunther and Priest stared one
<v Speaker 2>at one another to close the show. So, no, we
<v Speaker 2>don't know when that's gonna happen with Priest and Gunther,
<v Speaker 2>And we already kind of knew this was coming anyway,
<v Speaker 2>if you remember, prior to Crown Jewel, Priest approached Gunther
<v Speaker 2>backstage and said that you know I'm coming for that,
<v Speaker 2>and I think so they they're planning the South. This
<v Speaker 2>wasn't clearly a last minute decision. They still have big
<v Speaker 2>plans for Priest. Do those big plans include Priest winning
<v Speaker 2>back the world title? Most likely not. I think they've
<v Speaker 2>they experimented with that. I think largely it was this
<v Speaker 2>It was a success. Yes, I think the Priest World
<v Speaker 2>Championship run was largely a success that many of us
<v Speaker 2>didn't think it would be. He was called a transitional champion.
<v Speaker 2>Fans said it before it was put on air that
<v Speaker 2>he's a transitional champion, and he continued to over deliver
<v Speaker 2>and surprise with victory after victory. Was he in the
<v Speaker 2>grand scheme of things still kind of a transitional champion?
<v Speaker 2>You can make the argument, but I think what really
<v Speaker 2>is the most important thing coming out of this is
<v Speaker 2>that Damian Priest is a guy that can be put
<v Speaker 2>in the main event. He's found his character, He's found
<v Speaker 2>who he is. Is there room for expansion, Yes, there is.
<v Speaker 2>Does he need to add something to his music or
<v Speaker 2>maybe his promos? Maybe? But people will always remember him
<v Speaker 2>as one of the leaders of the Judgment Day, one
<v Speaker 2>of the founding fathers of the Judgment Day, although that
<v Speaker 2>brain trust is really edge. However, he was one of
<v Speaker 2>the ogs of the original Judgment Day and he can
<v Speaker 2>go in a main event. Did he have some flops
<v Speaker 2>and flubs in some of his matches, Yeah he did,
<v Speaker 2>he did, But you know, I don't remember those as
<v Speaker 2>I point them out. If I didn't remember them, that
<v Speaker 2>I wouldn't. But my point is those aren't what you
<v Speaker 2>really think about with Priest. You think about him in
<v Speaker 2>the time and the Judgment Day, you think about him
<v Speaker 2>as world champion, his interactions with Dominic Mysterio, that's what
<v Speaker 2>you really think about. And right now, that's a good
<v Speaker 2>foundation to lay for Priests to move forward here and eventually,
<v Speaker 2>we don't know when get a title shot against Gunther
<v Speaker 2>for the world title, the World Championship, and when loser draw,
<v Speaker 2>which I think it'll be a loss, it'll continue to
<v Speaker 2>elevate Priest and put him in the minds of fans
<v Speaker 2>as a main eventer, as a real threat to a champion,
<v Speaker 2>because we saw him do it before and defend it
<v Speaker 2>several times successfully. So I'm really making a case here
<v Speaker 2>for Damian Priest because he's I think the real deal.
<v Speaker 2>He's the real deal. And when does that title match happen?
<v Speaker 2>Clearly doesn't look like Survivors Series otherwise they would have
<v Speaker 2>said so, So I don't think it is Survivor's series
<v Speaker 2>because they would have really told you that right now,
<v Speaker 2>because then you could have said, oh, well, we have
<v Speaker 2>our first title match for Survivor Series set. So the
<v Speaker 2>question is, if it's not at Survivor Series, and it
<v Speaker 2>doesn't look like it is right now, what does Gunther
<v Speaker 2>do at Survivor Series? Does he go up against Punk?
<v Speaker 2>Maybe Punk has been vocally targeting Gunther or he did
<v Speaker 2>prior to the Hell in a Cell match with Drew,
<v Speaker 2>but also Drew McIntyre. What do they do with Drew?
<v Speaker 2>He's been mi A for a while, deservingly so, so
<v Speaker 2>it's perhaps both Punk and Drew target Gunther and there's
<v Speaker 2>some kind of triple threat because those two guys are
<v Speaker 2>still looming out there. Hopefully they've healed their wounds up
<v Speaker 2>and off in the coming weeks to suit up again
<v Speaker 2>for Survivor Series, And that would be a one year
<v Speaker 2>anniversary for Punk's return to WWE. Unbelievably, it's been a
<v Speaker 2>year since his return, so that could be a great
<v Speaker 2>place for Punk to go. Does Punk win Maybe I
<v Speaker 2>will say this, If Punk does win, that would set
<v Speaker 2>up the world title picture nicely for WrestleMania. I don't
<v Speaker 2>think he will whoever faces gun Threat Survivor Series. If
<v Speaker 2>guntherre ends up indeed defending the championship at Survivor Series,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think they're gonna win because Gunther still deserves
<v Speaker 2>a much longer rain, and in fact, I wouldn't have
<v Speaker 2>him lose till sometime next year. I don't need gun
<v Speaker 2>through on a Roman Reigns run, but I think he
<v Speaker 2>needs a significant run. And yes it does include the
<v Speaker 2>amount of time in a run does mean something. It
<v Speaker 2>doesn't just have to be about the opponents and the
<v Speaker 2>quality of the matches. Those are important, but the length
<v Speaker 2>of the run also does have a big impact, and
<v Speaker 2>Gunther does deserve I think at least three four five
<v Speaker 2>more months as world champion. He just fits the role man.
<v Speaker 2>He just looks the part. He's not your typical heel either.
<v Speaker 2>He's about respect, he's about great competition. Yes, you have
<v Speaker 2>Kaiser in there, who occasionally helps Gunther out, but even
<v Speaker 2>Gunther is seemingly getting tired of Kaiser around. That relationship
<v Speaker 2>is on again, off again, here there gone back, you know,
<v Speaker 2>so he doesn't rely on Kaiser and at this point
<v Speaker 2>they should split. I don't need every heel having playing
<v Speaker 2>the numbers game or cheating to win. You can just
<v Speaker 2>have a heel that is badass, and Gunther is that guy.
<v Speaker 2>He's a He's a man's man, a sportsman, a competitor.
<v Speaker 2>He's about respect, He's about just you know, having having
<v Speaker 2>people that push him to the limit.
<v Speaker 1>Right.
<v Speaker 2>He is a heel that is non traditional in this
<v Speaker 2>day and age, which is why I think when they
<v Speaker 2>eventually do decide to go full fledged babyface with him,
<v Speaker 2>fans will fans will flock to his babyface run. Now,
<v Speaker 2>when does that turn happen? I hope it wasn't hinted
<v Speaker 2>on raw Again. I may make case at the beginning
<v Speaker 2>of the show. I don't want it right now because
<v Speaker 2>there's still some some matches to be had with him
<v Speaker 2>as a heel. But what what does it look like?
<v Speaker 2>I think changing his music would help. His music is
<v Speaker 2>not now. I don't need a Cody Road sing along ballad, right,
<v Speaker 2>but I do needs something maybe a little bit more,
<v Speaker 2>a little bit more less depressing, to say the least.
<v Speaker 2>Although I don't have any issues with his music. I
<v Speaker 2>like his entrance actually, but I think in WWE's mind
<v Speaker 2>when they turn gun Through babyface, even if it's as
<v Speaker 2>a world world champion, they're probably going to modify his music,
<v Speaker 2>and that's what that's the case. I would actually argue
<v Speaker 2>for that they do. But he's got his look down
<v Speaker 2>with his suit. Now. Suits are overused today too. We
<v Speaker 2>have Cody doing it, Seth Rollins did it for a while,
<v Speaker 2>others have as well. The suits are kind of the
<v Speaker 2>the new kind of the new top trend right now
<v Speaker 2>for stars in the company and so this. But the
<v Speaker 2>suit just fits gun Through in a way that it
<v Speaker 2>doesn't with others. But the fans respect the hell out
<v Speaker 2>of Gunther. He's been a heel almost since his entire
<v Speaker 2>career as well. They know that he is legitimate. He's
<v Speaker 2>not this smarmy little worm that sometimes gets to roll
<v Speaker 2>up like a dominant mysterio character. He looks the part.
<v Speaker 2>He's got all the tools, his promos have improved. He's
<v Speaker 2>actually a funny dude. Now, So, before I get to
<v Speaker 2>my next point, I do think it'll be successful when
<v Speaker 2>they do it. But as I'm thinking about it, Goldberg
<v Speaker 2>is likely going to be on the radar and it
<v Speaker 2>probably could have It could happen at Survivor Series, which
<v Speaker 2>is maybe why they didn't go with the priest matchup.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not saying Goldberg versus gun throa at Survivor Series.
<v Speaker 2>I'm saying Gunther could come out, cut a promo, run
<v Speaker 2>down the crowd, talk about how great he is, and
<v Speaker 2>here comes Bill Goldberg spear, the security gets him and
<v Speaker 2>pulls Goldberg out of the arena, and that's a setup,
<v Speaker 2>or that's well, I should say, the another piece of
<v Speaker 2>the foundation being laid for the Gunther Goldberg match that
<v Speaker 2>likely takes place at WrestleMania, which I don't want. I still,
<v Speaker 2>I just don't now. Gunther could cost gun of Rather,
<v Speaker 2>Goldberg could cost Gunther the world title, which he maybe
<v Speaker 2>he drops it to Seth or drops it to Punk,
<v Speaker 2>and Seth and Punk have their match for the world
<v Speaker 2>title at WrestleMania forty one. Lots of places you could go.
<v Speaker 2>But given that they didn't say that the match with
<v Speaker 2>Gunther and Priest is happening at Survivor Series, it would
<v Speaker 2>lends you to believe Goldberg and Gunther are going to
<v Speaker 2>have some interaction at Sarvivor Series that sets the table
<v Speaker 2>for a future In four months or so, a match
<v Speaker 2>at WrestleMania forty one. That's my thinking. Love it or
<v Speaker 2>hate it. I hate it. I hate it from the
<v Speaker 2>perspective if it's WrestleMania, I don't like the match to
<v Speaker 2>begin with. But if it's going to cannibalize a WrestleMania
<v Speaker 2>moment for Gunther, that's the problem I have. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I would even argue it could happen at the Rumble,
<v Speaker 2>don't do it at WrestleMania because we know that you
<v Speaker 2>are You're really you know, you're really hamstringing Gunther here
<v Speaker 2>if you do that on a big stage like WrestleMania,
<v Speaker 2>because then you know what kind of match you're gonna
<v Speaker 2>get with Goldberg. Two moves, tops, jack hammer, maybe maybe
<v Speaker 2>a closed line thrown and there are maybe three moves,
<v Speaker 2>a closed line of spear and a jackhammer. That's kind
<v Speaker 2>of all he's got in terms of tools in his
<v Speaker 2>tool belt. And that's all it is. Power power, power, finish, finish, finish,
<v Speaker 2>I've got nothing else one, two, three. So I don't
<v Speaker 2>want that happening at WrestleMania because Gunther is too good
<v Speaker 2>of a wrestler to have that kind of match at WrestleMania.
<v Speaker 2>That that's not fair to him. Not fair to the
<v Speaker 2>fans either. I think the fans would turn on Goldberg
<v Speaker 2>and WrestleMania if that happened, and really even in a
<v Speaker 2>regular match here with Goldberg and Gunther, irregardless of the
<v Speaker 2>actual place it happens, I think the fans may have
<v Speaker 2>a chance at actually turning on Goldberg. But maybe it
<v Speaker 2>happens at Royal Rubble. I'll push it up because I
<v Speaker 2>don't want it at WrestleMania. So maybe Goldberg Gunther at
<v Speaker 2>what first February first, something like that for Royal Rubble. There.
<v Speaker 2>I booked it out for you guys. So there it is,
<v Speaker 2>all right, Well, let's let's get into a little bit
<v Speaker 2>more a wrestling news here as we roll on and
<v Speaker 2>let's uh, let's let's go a little bit of wrestling inc.
<v Speaker 2>I love the work they do over there, Big Big Wrestling. Inky.
<v Speaker 1>So.
<v Speaker 2>Rickosche recently appeared on a podcast with Chris Van Vliet.
<v Speaker 2>I've actually had Chris on the show Good Guy, and
<v Speaker 2>it was revealed that she had other aspirations outside of
<v Speaker 2>the ring. But Rick, ashe I said this, he said quote,
<v Speaker 2>I think ring announcing was only supposed to be the
<v Speaker 2>way in to progress. She wanted to be a character.
<v Speaker 2>That's when she's been her whole life. She's been stage
<v Speaker 2>performing her whole life, drama club to stage performing, to
<v Speaker 2>traveling the world doing stage performance. So that's kind of
<v Speaker 2>what she hoped. And then I think once WrestleMania happened,
<v Speaker 2>I think she was like, that's the highest I'm going
<v Speaker 2>to get quote when you're just a performer. I guess
<v Speaker 2>announcing because now she's getting hate because she didn't enjoy announcing,
<v Speaker 2>but she enjoyed making the universe feel emotions. She enjoyed
<v Speaker 2>using her voice to help promote and help move the
<v Speaker 2>company forward. But just literally the act of saying coming
<v Speaker 2>to the ring and weighing two hundred and thirty pounds,
<v Speaker 2>this's just my example. It's like having where I carry
<v Speaker 2>be put as just a ring announcer, you don't get
<v Speaker 2>any of the other stuff. According to Ricochet, Irvin Samantha,
<v Speaker 2>her girlfriend, specifically wanted to ascend to a managerial role
<v Speaker 2>similar to Paul Hayman, and also previously suggested the idea
<v Speaker 2>of becoming a general manager w general manager one day,
<v Speaker 2>much like nickoldas Adam Pierce and Ava over at NXT.
<v Speaker 2>In general Ricochet noted that Irvin is focused on being
<v Speaker 2>quote a stage performer. Recent suggests recent reports suggests that Irvin,
<v Speaker 2>a former contestant and am America's Got Talent, is now
<v Speaker 2>looking forward to getting involved into more music projects. So,
<v Speaker 2>Samantha Irvin obviously a beloved character in the company. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know why anyone's given her really any hate for
<v Speaker 2>saying that she didn't really like announcing. I mean, it's
<v Speaker 2>a lot of jobs people do that they don't like
<v Speaker 2>that they have to fake that they really love doing
<v Speaker 2>because you're paid to do it. So the fact that
<v Speaker 2>she didn't love it isn't really any of our business.
<v Speaker 2>The fact is that she gave us some memorable moments,
<v Speaker 2>and as Samantha Irvin pointed out, the whole WrestleMania moment
<v Speaker 2>with her getting emotional over Cody's win is forever going
<v Speaker 2>to be remembered by fans. Is probably her most impactful moment.
<v Speaker 2>Not being able to contain herself hearing the rock come out,
<v Speaker 2>and all of her recorded tiktoks of her reactions to stars,
<v Speaker 2>and the genuine love she's seemingly had for the for
<v Speaker 2>pro wrestling seem to be real. And so I'm not
<v Speaker 2>gonna falter for not loving it. How many times do
<v Speaker 2>you guys go to it? Who has a job that
<v Speaker 2>they really love? Why is it required that we love it?
<v Speaker 2>It's not required that we love it. It's required that
<v Speaker 2>we do a good job at what we're paid for doing. Right,
<v Speaker 2>We're being paid to do a job, do it well.
<v Speaker 2>Loving it is not irrelevant. I mean, that's not a
<v Speaker 2>job qualification. It's not saying on a job posting. It's
<v Speaker 2>like they must have six years of managerial experience, you
<v Speaker 2>know this and that, and then one of the billet
<v Speaker 2>points is and you also must love doing this.
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>No, So I'm not gonna get on her for that.
<v Speaker 2>I could care less. But it is kind of interesting
<v Speaker 2>that WWE decided, hey, nah, we're not gonna let you
<v Speaker 2>do that. We're not gonna let you be in a
<v Speaker 2>managerial role. I don't know that part of what happened
<v Speaker 2>with Samantha Irvin. It's kind of weird that they wouldn't
<v Speaker 2>allow her to at least get a crack at it
<v Speaker 2>and say, hey, you know, we'll set something up, keep announcing,
<v Speaker 2>we'll fit you in, you know, you know, and see
<v Speaker 2>how it goes over the coming year. Maybe that's what.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know what the conversation was. And the reason
<v Speaker 2>I say it's interesting is they have already made Babyface
<v Speaker 2>ready to go. I mean, the fans would have gravitated
<v Speaker 2>towards Samantha Irvin instantly. They already loved her. The connection.
<v Speaker 2>She had a hell of a connection with the fans.
<v Speaker 2>She was iconic on the mic. She rose quickly to
<v Speaker 2>Tony Chimmel levels even beyond, and in some some people
<v Speaker 2>look at her as the best ring announcer of all time.
<v Speaker 2>In WW that's fair, that's fair. I mean, there is
<v Speaker 2>the Fink, there is Lilian Garcia who's currently now on
<v Speaker 2>the raw side things. So there are some contenders. But
<v Speaker 2>it wouldn't be outlandish to say that Samantha Irvin is
<v Speaker 2>the greatest ring announcer of all time. That you could
<v Speaker 2>certainly make the case. But my point is you have
<v Speaker 2>already made baby face that already has a connection with
<v Speaker 2>the fans. You don't have to worry about that. She
<v Speaker 2>has the yet factor. Now let's get to it and
<v Speaker 2>see what we can squeeze out of this. Can we
<v Speaker 2>do more? She said, she wants to do more, you know,
<v Speaker 2>Let's see if there are other elements we can bring forth,
<v Speaker 2>and they didn't want to go that road.
<v Speaker 1>Now.
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't mean she'll never be back in the company.
<v Speaker 2>She very well maybe, But if she's gonna be doing music,
<v Speaker 2>then I would imagine that she loves that right now
<v Speaker 2>and that's the path that she wants to go on,
<v Speaker 2>and good for her. So I wanted to just give
<v Speaker 2>my thoughts on that. One more story that I'll touch
<v Speaker 2>on here. According to Wrestling, Inc, Is the idea that
<v Speaker 2>Wade Barrett could be stepping back inside the ring, and
<v Speaker 2>on Tuesday, Barrett opened up about the possibility. He spoke
<v Speaker 2>with p W Mania and he revealed who he'd he'd
<v Speaker 2>be open to challenging if he decided to step back
<v Speaker 2>into the ropes, but also reminded fans that he's satisfied
<v Speaker 2>with his current role and isn't necessarily looking to lace
<v Speaker 2>up his boots again. He said, absolutely it would be
<v Speaker 2>Drew McIntyre. He's someone I go way back with and
<v Speaker 2>very close friends with over the years, and he did
<v Speaker 2>a little smack smack to me a few weeks ago
<v Speaker 2>on RAW. I haven't forgot about that. I'm not going
<v Speaker 2>to make a major deal of it, but he's lucky
<v Speaker 2>he stopped where he did. If the opportunity arises, obviously
<v Speaker 2>it's something I would consider and think about. Could I
<v Speaker 2>deliver here? But could I deliver something here? But similarly,
<v Speaker 2>that's a hard word, right. Similarly, absolutely thrilled with my
<v Speaker 2>commentary role. It's not something I'm looking to step away from.
<v Speaker 2>There's always a tiny, tiny chance, but don't hold your breath.
<v Speaker 2>And he says he doesn't have the same itch to
<v Speaker 2>scratch that some veterans do. And so the idea is
<v Speaker 2>the door's open, but it's a small door, right, And
<v Speaker 2>if he did, it would be against against Drew McIntyre,
<v Speaker 2>one of his true, real life close friends, and that'd
<v Speaker 2>be awesome. I mean, I wouldn't mind seeing wayde Barrett
<v Speaker 2>come back. But I also really enjoy him on commentary.
<v Speaker 2>Has he said stupid things and gone over the top
<v Speaker 2>and made proclamations that are absolutely and ridiculous At times
<v Speaker 2>he had I've called him out over the years, but
<v Speaker 2>I really like him in the role. It's tough to
<v Speaker 2>find a guy that is consistently good in that role.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, look at the revolving door that they have
<v Speaker 2>had on Roll over the last few years. My God,
<v Speaker 2>how many men have sat in that desk outside of
<v Speaker 2>Pat McAfee, who is I mean, it's just a natural,
<v Speaker 2>But the other ones that have just been a revolving door.
<v Speaker 2>And you have the anchor there of Corey Graves, but
<v Speaker 2>you have Wade Barrett who just feels right and he's
<v Speaker 2>good at it, and he's smart, and he's also been
<v Speaker 2>in the ring, so he has the knowledge of what
<v Speaker 2>it's like to be in there and can give that
<v Speaker 2>perspective that other announcers can't, including Cole. So I think
<v Speaker 2>Wade Barrett, do I want him to step back in
<v Speaker 2>the ring if it's a one off for a four
<v Speaker 2>short short run. Sure, I mean fine, as like a
<v Speaker 2>rumble appearance for nostalgic reasons. Bad news Barrett is a
<v Speaker 2>rumble participant. Sure, they've done that before. They've done it
<v Speaker 2>to Pat McAfee, who was un commentary while it happened,
<v Speaker 2>So that's fine. But I don't necessarily I'm not craving
<v Speaker 2>a Wade Barrett return, and he doesn't seem to be either.
<v Speaker 2>And also, you don't have to kill your body if
<v Speaker 2>I'm him, I'm sitting there going hey, listen, I don't
<v Speaker 2>have to throw my body on the ground seven days
<v Speaker 2>a week. I'm getting paid a hell of a wage.
<v Speaker 2>It may not be as high as the actual wrestlers,
<v Speaker 2>but it's still a hell of a wage, a healthy wage.
<v Speaker 2>I'm the one of the lead voices of Raw, and again,
<v Speaker 2>I don't have to worry about concussions and life ending
<v Speaker 2>injuror life life altering injuries and everything else. So I'm
<v Speaker 2>cool if he never steps from the ring again too.
<v Speaker 2>So all right, well, a little bit of news with
<v Speaker 2>a little bit of a Raw review as well, and
