00:00:00 Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: The BAM out of bio situation. We hold on for dear life to legacies when you think about it, So BAM and Kobe, So this is just second on the all time list, but you know the outpouring of support and love that, hey, Kobe deserves better than this. That BAM should have stopped and maybe you know, paid tribute to one of his idols, Roger Maris and Babe Ruth. You know, people thought, well, somebody's gonna break Babe Ruth's record, it should be Mickey Mannle, not Roger Marris. And he played in one sixty two. Babe had one hundred and fifty four games. How about Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron. How dare they let somebody as dirty as Barry Bonds beat the ultra clean Hank Aaron, Miles, Garrett, Michael Strahan to a lesser degree. I don't think anybody had a problem with that. It was when Michael Strahan moved past Mark Gastudot. But Gastao wasn't a beloved guy. It was just the way that Michael Strahan was afforded that sack against Brett Fahr. But those are just some examples. You'll probably have a few more for me. But Bam out of Bio with eighty three, and it just feels like the old school NBA fan or analyst is like, how dare you make a mockery of the game. Well, no one was there when Wilt did this, But Wilt was chasing one hundred points that night, and nobody talks about that. We talk about one hundred points. Wilt was chasing one hundred points that night. I know the game was already out of hand. Now it was about Wilt getting one hundred points. Bam out of Bio still put up over sixty points through three quarters. You can talk about the fourth quarter, but let's please acknowledge the first quarter had thirty one. That had nothing to do with some scheming game plan to draw fouls. He put up thirty one. Eric Spolster, the Miami heat head coach, then realized maybe there was something special and he was going to let him have a special night. Then you go for sixty two at halftime, So sixty two legitimately sixty two at the end of three I'm sorry, So those are all legitimate. Thank you, PAULI that's legitimate there. Now did the fourth quarter get out of hand? It did, but he still put up eighty three, And I think we get caught up in this vacuum of how dare he do that? You know? And we can't speak for Kobe. I mean I did ask the question of what do you think Kobe would think? Jason Jackson, you know, the voice of the Miami Heat, I asked him. He said, well, that was you know, bam Adebayou's idol. I don't know. I mean, if we have bam on the show, I'll ask him did he give any thought to maybe not going for the record but he has it as the second highest scorer. I don't know if we've ever been that upset about a situation where somebody didn't even break the record. They just broke Kobe's record. 00:03:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, pulling a lot of people who cover basketball, not just fans who might be angry, but serious basketball people. Robert Ory who played basketball, were very, very bothered by the fourth quarter. They said, that wasn't basketball. That was a quest to pass a certain player and get to eighty three, eighty two points and the heat fouling, that's not natural, the throwing the ball off the backboard on a free throw. 00:03:30 Speaker 2: That's not natural. 00:03:31 Speaker 3: They were bothered by the esthetics of how the record was set or broken. 00:03:37 Speaker 2: It's hard to play defense in the NBA now, I think we can all agree everything feels like a foul and bam Outabayo took advantage of that. He took advantage of a bad Wizard's team. But if you're still putting up at least sixty points at the end of three quarters, I have to acknowledge that you had an incredible night. And yes, was the game out of hand, Yes, where they trying to get him to eighty or eighty two. Yes, did the Wizards double team, triple team where they foul? Yes, all of these things, But it still comes down to you had to stop him. Everybody gets to play against the Wizards at least twice a year now. A lot of guys get career highs or season highs against the Wizards. But eighty three still eighty three. And I was looking at the NBA scoring. In two thousand, teams averaged just a little under ninety five points per game. In twenty twenty six, teams are averaging one hundred and fifteen points per game, and I was looking to see how many teams have lost a game this season while scoring at least one hundred thirty points. At last count, I had twenty five games teams scored one thirty and lost. In two thousand, teams averaged ninety one possessions per game. This year nine possessions per game. Back in two thousand, teams averaged just under fourteen to three point attempts per game. This year, teams are averaging thirty seven three point attempts per game. Stat of the Day. Stat of the Day brought to you by Patini America. The official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. Yes, seton one hundred and thirty points and they lost. Yes, I have twenty five games at last count. Wow, why did you? Did you think it would be more? No, I thought it'd be like one to twenty. 00:05:43 Speaker 4: Maybe if you score one hundred and twenty points, you should win the game one hundred and thirty points and lose the game twenty five times. 00:05:50 Speaker 2: I think somebody lost one fifty to one forty seven. Now we've had some double overtime games. But yeah, I'm looking at the numbers here and uh, unless Google is failing me, but you know, I got one thirty one, thirty four, one, thirty seven, one thirty four, one, thirty two, one, thirty six, one, thirty eight, one thirty one, thirty two, one fifty one, thirty five, one thirty three. Yeah, I got twenty five games. Uh, so far, that's crazy. I don't even know if I've tabulated March yet, but that's there. Might be more, might be close to thirty times. Yes, Todd, and you only. 00:06:28 Speaker 5: Have yourself to blame. In the sport of basketball, you're playing offense and defense. It's not like the NFL. It's like we scored all these points. 00:06:33 Speaker 6: And were still losing. 00:06:34 Speaker 2: What's going on the other side of the ball. 00:06:36 Speaker 3: Yes, Baldy, I went back and looked at this and it all goes back to Steph Curry. Steph Curry in twenty fourteen, before he had his breakout season, NBA teams attempted seventeen actually checked that twenty one threes per game. Twenty one threes attempted per game. In twenty thirteen, four years later, it was thirty two threes attempted per game. Every other stat is the same, generally shots per game, per game, shooting percentage. Everything else is generally the same. 00:07:04 Speaker 2: Well, if you're looking back in two thousand, there's eight possessions more per team per game, so that's a lot. Yes, Marvin, It's. 00:07:14 Speaker 6: Kind of like the Ravens at the beating of last football season were to scoring forty points in losing, Like, come on, you can't score that many points in a professional setting and lose. 00:07:23 Speaker 7: Pathetic. 00:07:25 Speaker 2: Well, I feel bad for Bam out of Bio. It's like, how dare you? How dare you score eighty three points? But you know, and some of the dan nets brought this up yesterday that this might be more about Kobe being beloved. If Lebron had scored eighty one and Bam out of Bio scored eighty three, I don't think people would have nearly the problem because Lebron's not beloved. Kobe is beloved, and I think because of that, it's like, you know, Bam, why didn't you stop at eighty one? I think if Kobe were alive and able to ask that question, what would you have wanted him to do? I'm gonna guess Kobe would probably say go for it. Knowing Kobe's mentality, but can't speak for him, but having you know, the number of conversations we've had with him on this show. He was a shark. It's full speed ahead and go for it. Also, when Wilt scored one hundred, has anybody looked at the Knicks lineup? Has anybody looked at the Knicks big men guarding him? The Knicks were one of the worst teams. The Raptors weren't any good when they were facing Kobe. It's like, let's just be fair to the entire picture, the totality of what bam Adebayo did, what he accomplished, And yes, the Wizards are bad, the Knicks were bad back in nineteen sixty two, but nobody brings that up. Nobody brings up that Wilt was chasing one hundred points. 00:08:53 Speaker 6: Yes, Mart, And the fact that Kobe's no longer here with us makes it even worse. If he was here, he may have been able to call off the dogs and maybe send out a tweet or even send like a personal message like they do on like the scoreboard after a game or whatever. And so now that he's no longer here, it makes it even worse. That's the thing about people passing away early, especially entertainers, where it's like he would have wanted this, well, we don't know what he would have won it, and so now you're speaking for him. 00:09:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, Jordan sent just a congratulations to him, but he didn't say, hey, congrats, you made a mockery of you know, the sport in the last month or last That wouldn't have been very nice to probably, but you know how Jordan is. You know, I'm surprised he didn't. It can kind of poke you a little bit, you know, Hey, congratulations on three legitimate quarters that you played. 00:09:44 Speaker 3: Yes, PAULI, I do wonder though, if we had Kobe Bryant on yesterday and you asked him about that fourth quarter, he'd be polite and congratulatory, but I think he may also say did it feel like a basketball game? Did it feel like a competition? Because his was a competition. I could I see him maybe taking a little line like that. 00:10:03 Speaker 2: Maybe maybe, But this is one of BAM's idols growing up, and then you surpass. It's not even the record, that's the amazing part. It's the second best scoring game of all time. Now people are saying, well, you know, if you take away free throws, how many points you know, where would he rank all time? I'm like, but you can't take away free throws. When Will scored one hundred, he had thirty two free throws, he made twenty eight, but you know you shoot forty three. I mean, it's embarrassing that there were that many fouls called at some point at some point, and I had a former official say this to me yesterday. At some point, I know they're making a mockery of it, and I am going to make a mockery of it as well. I'm not calling all of these fouls because you know what's happening here. And then you're just going to say, I'm not gonna let you just keep fouling or get fouls and make this about the free throw line. Now that's a former official saying that, Yes, Pauline, I do have that stat. A network posted this yesterday. If you remove free throws, who's they had the greatest scoring night of all time? Wilt seventy two points, Kobe sixty three points, and then a bunch of Wilt games. Bam would have been seventy third ranked all time with forty eight points in the game. Here we are, shit, did you take away the free throws and take away the three points? I mean okay, all right, Well congratulations bam, you're the second highest scoring game in NBA history. Yeah, all right, the Seaton you got, yes, Marvin. 00:11:47 Speaker 6: And since Kobe doesn't play anymore, I forgot how Kobe's stands are. And they were out in Oh, they they were man, Oh they were mad. 00:11:56 Speaker 2: Imagine if he surpassed Michael Jordan in a game. 00:12:01 Speaker 7: Sorry, you can't do that. 00:12:03 Speaker 2: I got laugh at it. 00:12:04 Speaker 4: Yes, uh, you know what going to be when they realized where Kobe's last twelve points of that came. 00:12:11 Speaker 2: From from the free throw line, I know, yeah, we should look it up. I think I think a considerable number of those were one. Oh, I know. 00:12:25 Speaker 7: Who knew? 00:12:26 Speaker 2: Who knew that you could you could have this kind of accomplishment and you could set people off. Man. All right, so I have a full question. Our good buddy Ross Tucker will join us. That Max Crosby situation is shady at best. And then the GM for the Ravens, Eric Tacosta said, well, we were looking to bring it in Trey Hendrickson and Max Crosby. Okay, Also, Kyler Murray set to I believe meet with the Vikings today. Doesn't sound like there's another suitor for him, but I think it's the right place for him. I thought the Colts maybe if they didn't go in with Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones is the new Kirk Cousins. It's like, how did he get that contract? But he did coming off an injury, paying in forty four million dollars a year. 00:13:17 Speaker 1: Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app. 00:13:28 Speaker 7: Setec gots here. 00:13:30 Speaker 8: I have a podcast empire. 00:13:32 Speaker 2: It continues to grow, and I. 00:13:34 Speaker 8: Have brought it here to iHeart. What do you make of this situation? 00:14:35 Speaker 9: Well, first of all, Dan, I've been in that situation before that Max was in. So you got the right guy today. Would have been the right guy yesterday to Fritzy, but you got the right guy today. 00:14:47 Speaker 2: Wow. Bumped him for Diana and his kids. At Wow, I didn't know you got bumped. Okay, oh yeah, no. 00:14:54 Speaker 7: It's only been like ten years. 00:14:55 Speaker 9: I thought Fritzie and I were like friends or whatever, Like you know, I come on prettym every week whenever Fritzie asks. But I guess if Diana Rossini needs to move it, I get bumped. 00:15:06 Speaker 7: I don't know. 00:15:07 Speaker 2: Okay, hold on, Ross, let me let Fritzy at least have a word here. 00:15:10 Speaker 5: It was less of about more of a reschedule. What happens was Diana was, you know, working the phones and doing her thing, and she initially thought she had to come on earlier, then something changed with who she needed to speak with, and then she had to make it later, and ross was in the final hour, and we thought it would wouldn't serve the show best to have them on top of each other as back to back NFL guest covering a lot of the same topics. So we rescheduled not bumped Rossa today, and we had an extra day to promote it. And that's really how I see it, and I hope Ross doesn't have hurt feelings about that on social media seems to though. 00:15:41 Speaker 9: Well, essentially, Dan, what happened is Diana Rossini was Trey Hendrickson, I was Max Crawsey, and Fritzy is the Ravens. 00:15:51 Speaker 7: I'm a terrible person. 00:15:53 Speaker 9: No I will say this though this is you guys will love this, Okay. Two thousand and seven, I was a free agent. The first day of free agency, I went to the Redskins and they offered me a very modest contract. Of course modest signing bonus, passed the physical the whole deal. Then I fly to Atlanta and in a downtown Atlanta hotel. The next day, we get picked up in a limo. It's just me and Joe Horn. Joe Horn's gonna sign. 00:16:21 Speaker 7: For like over ten million dollars a year. I guess they had the limo anyway, so. 00:16:26 Speaker 9: They let me ride in it and we went to the doctor's office in downtown Atlanta. You know, we get the MRI and we get the whole deal, the scan, we meet with the doctors, We get back in the limo. 00:16:39 Speaker 7: The limo's not moving. We're in the limo outside limit, not moving. All of a sudden, the limo door. 00:16:44 Speaker 9: Opens up and some guy from the Falcon says, Ross, can you come here. I said, okay, I get out of the limo and he's like, I'm Anthony, blah blah blah. 00:16:56 Speaker 7: You failed your physical. We're gonna take you back to the airport. That was it. 00:17:01 Speaker 9: I never even made it to Flowery Branch, the Falcons facility, never talked to the coach, Bobby Petrino, or the. 00:17:09 Speaker 7: GM or anybody. I just went right back to the airport. 00:17:12 Speaker 9: While I'm in this guy's car, I call my agent. I'm like, tell the Redskins we accept. So I actually know what it's like to fail physical. That's evidence that one team can pass you and another team can't. 00:17:26 Speaker 7: And that was my experience with it. 00:17:29 Speaker 9: I had already been cut several times, a little different than Max Crosby, but yes, that is the It was not much of a conversation. Was we're taking you back to the airport. 00:17:37 Speaker 2: Now do the Ravens have to tell Max Crosby what part of him? You know? Why did he fail that physical? 00:17:47 Speaker 9: That is an amazing question. That's the best question I've heard yet. And the answer is no. Because I called the Falcons trainer, because listen, I already played six years, I was twenty eight years old. I wanted to know what they saw, like like, why did you guys fail me on the physical? 00:18:08 Speaker 7: And they started talking about things. 00:18:10 Speaker 9: I'm like, that's not true, like that, like that that I don't have that. 00:18:15 Speaker 7: And then they got another guy on the on the phone. 00:18:17 Speaker 9: He's like, listen, Ross, you had disc surgery at multiple levels. 00:18:22 Speaker 7: We see some chronic whatever, like we're not taking that chance. 00:18:26 Speaker 9: And I thought, okay, but that's an awesome question, Dan, why you're the best interviewer because they don't have to tell you. 00:18:34 Speaker 7: But I wanted to know for my own edification, like for the rest of them, should I just not play anymore. 00:18:38 Speaker 9: If it's so bad I failed physical, maybe I shouldn't keep playing football. 00:18:44 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just trying to sort through this, and I really came to the realization yesterday that maybe this was just buyer's remorse that the Raven's making a move giving up two first round picks, and then going, god, we got to pay him that kind of money. Is he going to want a contract extension? We got to redo Lamar's contract, So it felt like they maybe the reality set in of do we need to do this because this is an awful lot. Why don't we just sign somebody who's not as good for a little less money and we don't have to give up two first round draft picks and Trey Hendrickson, Well, I. 00:19:25 Speaker 9: Would say that in talking with some people in the NFL, that's what most people believe happened. And what I think is so fascinating about it is my initial. 00:19:35 Speaker 7: Reaction was, why don't we go ahead and check the phone records? 00:19:39 Speaker 9: Did you call Trey Hendrickson before Crosby got there? Was it after Crosby got there? But I think the Ravens are one step ahead of me and everybody else by saying oh, No, we were trying to get them both, because if anybody checked, and anybody did research or talk to Trey Hendrickson or his agent or looked at own records, they clearly. 00:20:01 Speaker 7: Were talking with him before then. And so I don't know. I'm kind of with you, And on the pole question, I would say, I don't. 00:20:10 Speaker 9: I mean, do I believe that the Ravens might have had a dream of having both Hendrickson and Crosby? 00:20:18 Speaker 7: Yes? 00:20:19 Speaker 9: Do I think that they thought that was realistic? Absolutely? Not that when there's all these other teams out there, like the Bills and the Bears and the Colts and the Eagles or whoever looking for an edge rusher. Do I think that the Ravens thought it was realistic that they could get too and those other teams get zero? No, I don't. I think what the real question now is is let's all just assume, okay, that they did get cold feet, they did get buyer's remorse. Is that totally bogus? Is that totally bs? Or Hey, is this just business and they realized this was a decision and business is business. 00:21:02 Speaker 7: I think reasonable minds can disagree on that. 00:21:06 Speaker 2: Talking to Ross Tucker's CBS Sports Westwood One, NFL college football analyst and host of Ross Tucker Football podcast. Follow him on social media at Ross Tucker NFL. What do the Raiders do now? 00:21:20 Speaker 7: Well, that's interesting. 00:21:21 Speaker 9: Fortunately for them, they still have the money to take Max back. You know, they're absolutely gonna listen they trade him once. I think if they get an offer that they're still comfortable with that they would still move him. I think now you know, whether it's Max's doctor, the Raiders doctors, there's a lot going on out there, kind of like he said, she said about what's really going on with Max's knee. This might be something where the Raiders revisit it around the draft. It might be something dan where they revisit it in July when they know he can pass a physical, they know he'll be cleared, and then the team that would be trading for him number one would be taking on less risk, and number two, the draft choices that they would trade wouldn't have to be until twenty twenty seven. So on some level, you know, you can be a team where you still take your first round pick in twenty six, but then maybe still get Max Crosby. 00:22:28 Speaker 7: I don't think that this is the end of it. 00:22:31 Speaker 9: I'd say it's fifty to fifty whether Crosby plays for the Raiders. 00:22:35 Speaker 7: Or not this year. 00:22:36 Speaker 9: If I had to bet on flipping that coin, I would bet he still goes somewhere else for a little bit less than what the Ravens offered. 00:22:46 Speaker 2: Kyler Murray, it feels like all signs point towards Minnesota. Tell me why this works and why it might not work. 00:22:55 Speaker 9: Well, it might not work for the same reason. It's never totally worked with Kyler Murray, and that's because of his incredible inconsistency. You know, you would think after seven years that you have a pretty good idea of what you're gonna get from a player on a weekend and week out basis. That is not the case with Kyler. And that's really really tough for any organization, any coaching staff. You know, even like Kirk Cousins, you kind of know what he is and what you're gonna get. 00:23:32 Speaker 7: With Kyler Dan, it's like a week to week deal. 00:23:36 Speaker 9: I mean, there are weeks where and I don't know if it's his preparation or he doesn't adjust as well, if the defense is not what he was expecting, But there are weeks where he looks as good as anybody. He can play an MVP caliber level. He can put the team on his back and play awesome. There's also weeks where he's a bottom ten quarterback. He's very rarely in the middle. He's usually either really hot and plays really well or really poor. I think Kevin O'Connell believes he's seen enough of the really hot days that he can get Kyler to play with more consistency. This whole deal where Kyler is reportedly talking with three to five teams today about twenty twenty seven and doing zooms with them is fascinating. He's basically saying, I'm gonna go do what Sam Darnold did. I'm gonna have a great year for the Vikings. What would your interest level be next year after I do this? I mean, I've never heard of this before, but obviously it's a pretty big bet for the Vikings. They just fired their GM. You know, they're already seemingly throwing the towel in on JJ McCarthy. So O'Connell, I mean, they gotta make it work with Kyler Murray otherwise there might be more changes in Minnesota. 00:25:01 Speaker 2: How often in your career would you ever question the work ethic of your quarterback. 00:25:12 Speaker 7: Very very rarely, very rarely, and if you did, it's a major problem. 00:25:19 Speaker 9: I mean, that's a terrific point because the day as soon as the Cardinals front office in a meeting said Okay, let's give him this massive deal, but we got to make sure he's preparing. I know it's one hundred million guaranteed, but let's put something in there where he has to do four hours of homework a night and can't play video games. Dan, that's the exact second. 00:25:47 Speaker 7: Where you don't give him the one hundred million dollars. You can't do that. 00:25:52 Speaker 9: People don't change that much. People kind of are what they are. You know, I play with Brady a salute psycho. When it came to preparation, you know, most the other guys I was around, you didn't have to question them in that regard. Interestingly, you know, I've had Steelers guys tell me that early in Ben's career he was kind of the last guy to get their first guy to leave, and they still had that much success, and he still had that much success. 00:26:24 Speaker 7: That would seem to me to be very very rare, and the issue for a guy like Kyler. 00:26:31 Speaker 9: If you've ever seen his high school highlights, it's the craziest thing you've ever seen. So when you're in tenth grade and you're basically the state player of the year in Texas at the highest level, you never lose a game for three years. In college, you win the highsman number one pick. He's never really had to do it, you know, He's always been able to play at a really high level without doing it. Maybe this is the wake up call, or maybe O'Connell can just put him in a situation where he can excel without maybe being as much of a student of the game as some of the other guys. 00:27:08 Speaker 2: Are. Great to see it and great to talk to you. And I feel really bad that Fritzi did this to you. And if you'd like for me to suspend him or fire him, then I'll you just say the word Ross. 00:27:23 Speaker 9: No. I think that's a little harsh. I think I'll probably feel better about it by next week. 00:27:30 Speaker 7: I'm just a little hurt. I'm just a little hurt. 00:27:32 Speaker 9: So I was not going to say no though, because of how I feel about you and Paulie and Seaton and Marvin. But as relates to Pritzy, I mean within the last month, Fritzy thought I was doing the Super Bowl. 00:27:45 Speaker 7: In London for some reason. And now he. 00:27:49 Speaker 9: Bumps me because his text said Diana is more attractive than you. 00:27:55 Speaker 7: We want to go with her. And that's the part that really hurt me. 00:27:59 Speaker 2: And I'm get to back Fritzy on that. Yes, yes, Paulie, you know, Ross, you can look at this the other way. You are the one and only featured guest on today's show. Sure on stage. 00:28:12 Speaker 7: I know my mom texted me and said it's the best guest left. Fritzie is. 00:28:17 Speaker 2: We are piling on? 00:28:18 Speaker 6: Are we? 00:28:19 Speaker 2: Thank you? Ross? 00:28:20 Speaker 7: Sorry? 00:28:20 Speaker 2: Ross? You guys, Ross Tucker. 00:28:23 Speaker 1: Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in the nation. And do we have a new poll question for hour two? Oh man, our one? We've got up there. 00:28:43 Speaker 4: Do you believe the Ravens were trying to pair Trey Hendrickson and Max Crosby together? 00:28:47 Speaker 2: You guys want to guess the results on this one eighty five fifteen? Oh boy? Are you close? 00:28:56 Speaker 9: Uh? 00:28:56 Speaker 2: And in which direction. Just to be clear, they don't believe it. The Ravens were going to repair both of them, they would be eighty nine percent. Do not believe that, which I think is funny. 00:29:06 Speaker 9: You know. 00:29:06 Speaker 2: The only thing that I kind of think, like maybe. 00:29:09 Speaker 4: There is some truth to it is that they were able to sign Trey Hendrickson very fast, right after the Max Crosby thing fell apart. So there were clearly already discussions happening. They were clearly talking to both parties at the same time. Man to be able to turn that around that fast, maybe there is some truth to it. 00:29:28 Speaker 2: But I don't know who was in the market for Trey Hendrickson. I didn't hear any other teams because of the asking price. But hey, if Eric Deconsta, the GM of the Ravens, said they were interested in both, then kind of agree, Okay, maybe they were, you know, maybe you were kind of flirting a little bit. Maybe they got buyer's remorse when they were bringing in Max Crosby. Maybe the more they thought of it, the more they were thinking, Man, do we want to give up two first round picks for this guy? Well let's bring him in. Well he's coming in anyway, now all of a sudden, you go, maybe he won't pass his physical. Max, we got some bad news for you. We're gonna have to let you go back to the Raiders. Trey Hendrickson online one. Okay, hold on, Max, see you later and thank you again. But you get Trey Hendrickson. I understand it. Like if I'm the Ravens, I don't give up two first round draft picks. Not granted, those first round picks are going to be well. This one this year was a top fifteen I believe now the one after that would probably be in the late twenties. But if I can get Hendrickson, I think he can give me two years. I know they gave him a four year deal, but it'll probably be two years and if I can get something out of him that he's not Max Crosby. But I don't have to give up those first round picks, and I think those are essential. They're gonna have Lamar restructure his deal. But the Ravens are saying that they were in the market, both of them. 00:31:00 Speaker 7: All right. 00:31:01 Speaker 2: Some of the headlines from last night Italy helps out USA Baseball as they advanced by the way the breakdown of players on team Italy who were born in Italy? Todd, do you want to guess how many of Team Italy were born in Italy? I'm gonna say six, all right, Seaton, I'll be more optimistic, I'll say ten, all right, Marvin? Four? All right? All seven? Three? 00:31:37 Speaker 8: Three? 00:31:38 Speaker 2: Stat of the day, of the day, of the day, stat of the day. It comes that what what of the day? Brought to you by panadi America. The official trading cards of the DP show twenty four from the United States, three from Italy, two from Venezuela, and one from Canada. And Team USA benefits because now you have the elimination round. You have Team USA facing Canada tomorrow night. Italy plays Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals on Saturday. 00:32:14 Speaker 3: Yes, Paul Dan, just to be balanced, I've got USA's baseball roster here, zero players from Italy born out roster zero? 00:32:23 Speaker 2: Yes? 00:32:23 Speaker 4: Does it take away from the World Baseball Classic that it's basically just Americans going by their nationalities? 00:32:33 Speaker 2: Like where's Ireland? Do they? Can we get it? 00:32:35 Speaker 4: Can we field a team of irishmen? 00:32:39 Speaker 2: Soccer? Does this? Doesn't it? With the World Cup? 00:32:42 Speaker 4: I guess I think you have to be a citizen, so I'm guessing that everybody is a citizen of the teams that they're playing for, Like you could have dual citizen, dual citizenship, right right. I'm assuming that that's the case, But. 00:32:54 Speaker 2: I don't know. If I was from the United States and I played for Italy, I would demand that I get dual citizenship. I think you got to give me something other than the opportunity to play in the World Baseball Classic. But it's been fun. I've watched a whole lot more than I thought I was going to, and watched Italy. Now i'd have to go to my twenty three and me and look at that and see who I would play for. How many options would you have? Well, I think I've got a great Britain. I could probably play for Great Britain, Ireland, Wales, Scotland. They're not playing baseball. I got the one and a half percent Esconazi, So team Israel, all right, there's like one percent West Africa. So did they have a team. I'm not quite sure. You start to look at your twenty three and me, and you go, I got some students about you know, whatever happened down through the years here, how do we get you know, some of these countries in there. The one percent two percent, yes see. 00:34:10 Speaker 4: That's my twenty three meters was arguable. It was simultaneously great and the most boring of all time because it was like ninety nine point nine percent you know, English or you know, Irish, UK, British like whatever. It was all concentrated right there. 00:34:26 Speaker 2: But you'll get those stragglers like that one and a half percent. You're like, what happened here? But mine was a little more interesting than I thought it was going to be, because I thought it was going to be all, you know, the Emerald Isle. But turns out that there were some some rogue percentages in there. All right, So Team USA gets Canada on Friday night, and Italy moves on to take on Puerto Rico. A couple of college basketball notes. She had McNeice, not McNee state anymore, Lee High in Idaho. They get their tournament bids, Bobby Hurley's out at Arizona State. Syracuse has a job opening, and I'm thinking Jerry McNamara. Now he's got a tournament bid with Sienna, and then after that, then he takes the two hour and fifteen minute drive from Siana College to Syracuse to take over its alma mater. What about Bobby Hurley joining Danny Hurley at Yukon? Could you imagine him as an assistant coach there? They were on the same team, right, Marvin, Does that sound right? It was correct, Bobby and Danny. Yeah, yep, years ago. I think they were both coaches on the same same team. But was Danny with Bobby at Buffalo or was it Wagner? 00:35:47 Speaker 3: Bobby Hurley was with Danny Hurley for two seasons at Wagner College and one season at University of Rhode Island. 00:35:54 Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, so Bobby Hurley is out at Arizona State. Here's another thing. The same year Indiana football wins the national title, the basketball team goes eighteen and fourteen lost to Northwestern Yesterday by thirteen to get knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament. Indiana's a football school, much to the chagrin of the state that's a basketball state. But for Indiana basketball, like fifteen twenty years ago, this would be a huge deal if this happened to Indiana basketball. Now, when's the last time you talked about Indiana basketball. When's the last time they had a player that you talked about with Indiana basketball. That's what's pretty surprising here. NFL free agency slowing down, although you still have Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray is going to be probably visiting Minnesota or might be a zoom call based on what Ross Tucker was talking about that Kyler Murray wants to know after this season if I have, you know, if I'm correctly reading what Ross Tucker was saying that, Hey, I'm going to go and play for one year. I want to know who's going to be interested in me after this if that's what Ross Tucker was actually describing, that maybe I go to Minnesota. I want to know is somebody you know looking at me long term? That he has three to five zoom calls that coming up this week, which is kind of surprising. I don't know why I would tip my hand and say, hey, we'll be interested in you in a year from now. In the NFL, at that position, things change. Daniel Jones got paid forty four million dollars a year, the new Kirk Cousins in the NFL, and good for him. I was surprised at that amount. But Daniel Jones was a thing there for about ten games and then not a thing after that. Yes, he's going to. 00:37:59 Speaker 4: End on making just an unbelievable amount of money. 00:38:03 Speaker 2: Yeah, can we do career salary game with Daniel Jones? Can with this contract or without? With this contract? 00:38:13 Speaker 10: Salarery salary, salary, salary, salary, salary, salary, salary salary. 00:38:41 Speaker 3: Here we go, two part game. Daniel Jones? How much has he made and will he make after this contract? Based off the minimum he can make? What has he made already? A little hint in twenty twenty three he made forty six million dollars with the Giants. 00:39:00 Speaker 2: What has he made so far? Let's just combine it, Okay, Yeah, let's make it easier. I don't know if it's easier, but make it just one total todd You want to throw out Daniel Jones will make after this contract? How many millions of dollars? 00:39:15 Speaker 7: Two hundred and twenty seven million, Seaton, I'm. 00:39:19 Speaker 2: Gonna say two fifty three, Marvin. 00:39:24 Speaker 6: To eighty one. 00:39:26 Speaker 2: I'm gonna go two thirty nine to five. 00:39:31 Speaker 3: Thrown in the five, five, two and fifty eight million dollars. 00:39:35 Speaker 2: Oh dang, I was close. Yes, all right, congratulations, congratulations Seaton, thank you. Let me see the NFL. 00:39:43 Speaker 4: Get that five million difference that I was off by the fire. I get then that you win that. Dan Jones on what was that to me? Uh? 00:39:50 Speaker 2: NFL is looking at the night before Thanksgiving, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, when there's three games on Thanksgiving and why not cramp another one in there? 00:40:01 Speaker 1: Now? 00:40:01 Speaker 2: Social media was like, oh, you know, I don't like this at all, and you're still gonna watch it. I get the NFL. You can't deny like there's other sports or other events where you go, I'm not gonna watch it. It's the NFL. You'll watch what else is gonna be on? You're gonna be maybe going to the bar usue people on that Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, coming back home and you get together with former classmates. But you're gonna have a game on. And that's what they're looking at Wednesday night, the night before Thanksgiving. I keep wondering what is the downside? I I don't know if there is, because you're going to they have you. It'll be fantasy, it'll be gambling, and it'll be nothing else is on and you'll watch. Yes, Todd wasn't isn't there something to be said? 00:40:53 Speaker 5: Remember the days of like you're waiting once a week, your favorite TV show is on and that's that's the big day, and you can't wait, and they have a tease the end and you and there's something that builds up as opposed to, you know, just having it every day. Wouldn't that take away some of the time. 00:41:06 Speaker 2: Would you want to go back to nineteen eighty five when there's two games, maybe three games available? 00:41:11 Speaker 5: I'd like a few more than that. But I think we're getting to an oversaturating point. I think I think that hurts the NBA. It's definitely hurting MLB, and I just it's there isn't such thing as too much of something. 00:41:21 Speaker 2: I believe that, okay, but how much is too much? 00:41:25 Speaker 5: That's what has to be figured out. But I don't think we need the NFL every single day. As much as we all love the NFL, you know, I wouldn't mind like a day or two break between trying to keep trackable the. 00:41:34 Speaker 2: Game are there's no Tuesday games about what they do once they. 00:41:38 Speaker 5: Get Thursday and they just they keep pushing the envelope. And you know, I don't see a need for like trying to see if every day of the week they could be at least one NFL game. 00:41:46 Speaker 2: So if the if the Broncos play Wednesday Night, it's the Broncos, I'll watch that. 00:41:51 Speaker 5: I don't know if I'm necessarily watching Saints Falcons game on Wednesday night, but if that's the only game that's on, that's how they get you. They have their standalone game. 00:41:58 Speaker 2: So you end up watching anyway, you know, I don't think people tune out or turn away. That's the NFL. You know, as long as the product is good, entertaining interesting, then people are going to watch. Even if you don't you don't bet on the game, or you don't have fantasy attached to this. Yeah. 00:42:19 Speaker 4: See, Yeah, I mean I'm kind of along the same lines as Todd where I do. I do think that we don't need the NFL almost every night. I think that there's probably room for everything else. And I think it's I'll always watch my team, and I'll always watch what the important games are, but it becomes less likely on that, Yes, say that we add a Tuesday game, a Wednesday game, whatever, even Thursdays. I'm kind of like, unless it's a team or a game that I'm really interested in, I'm not watching. 00:42:47 Speaker 2: Yeah, but I think we're different because you know, I think younger fans probably are betting on the game, and they probably are doing fantasy. We're not doing either. Therefore, you're watching these games. And the number of people that I'm around, younger people who say, hey, I got to have a reason to watch this game and they want to put money on it, that's not us. I just think that you know, they have you, you'll watch the game for the most part. I'm with you. On Thursday night. It's like, I don't like Thursday night football. I don't think the quality has been good. I don't think it's fair to the players. I hope they don't do Friday. I hope they don't do Saturday, but they they the NFL wants to push that. They want to push it out to the world, and it's like they take us for granted. Now the expansion is you know, global, everybody's going to be playing a game outside of the United States. 00:43:38 Speaker 3: Yeah, Paul I went back and looked at the Thanksgiving Eve schedule for last year twenty twenty five. There is no football on college or pro obviously, but there was a triple header of NBA games, three games between five and ten pm. And the NBA started this. The first ever ever NBA triple header was last year on Thanksgiving Eve. I looked at the networks. It was all like package shows, not traditional network shows like pre Thanksgiving type shows, holiday type fair Man. 00:44:09 Speaker 2: The NBA every time they must turn around, they go, wait, what's the NFL doing to us? 00:44:14 Speaker 9: Yeah? 00:44:14 Speaker 2: Christmas Day, the night before Thanksgiving? Yeah, Seeton. 00:44:19 Speaker 7: Yeah. 00:44:19 Speaker 4: I think it's interesting that you're just talking about how young people need a reason to watch the game, and that reason, more often than not, currently is gambling. That would be the sign of not having a good product, though, if you need a reason to watch the game other than it's just a good game. But oh well I have money riding on the game, so now I have to watch the game. That would indicate to me that the NFL product is not good, because unless you're gambling, then you're less likely to watch it. 00:44:45 Speaker 2: Well, they don't grow up as fans of teams nowadays. You grow up as fans of players because you're in fantasy. I don't know loyalty wise, if you're watching games, how many games you watch? I just know in my family with my kids, it's I'll watch the Packers game all, they don't gamble, but they have fantasy, so you might be watching it that way. But for us, it's different. I mean, I probably watch more football because I'm not gambling or not doing fantasy, because I had a hard time when I was gambling watching those games and I watched I watched red zone. Man, I'll watch the big game, a full game, and then I'll watch red red Zone. But I think you know kids nowadays, Uh you know tension span. Hey, I got something on it my fantasy team. It's just different than us.
