Episode 119 - Demetrian Titus - lead up to, events of, and post of Space Marine 2.
On Today’s cast we close out (for now) our Titus coverage. We open with his discovery by the inquisition from his statis prison by Inquisitor Thrax. From there, we follow his adventures with the death watch that lead him to the surface of Kaduku leading to his reunification with the Ultramarines. Then we go into the events of Space Marine 2 and their totally dissimilar plot elements from Space Marine 1. After we go over his absolutely incredible secret level episode. And we then close on what we know leading up to the 500 worlds campaign due out in 2026!

[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Forty K-Lorecast. [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Forty-Kloricats with me, John Barsadian, Brett Chester. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy, today we'll be finishing our coverage of Titus starting with the lead at the Space Marine, too. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, for now, the problem is that the GW to the classic thing, like they told us in the end of November that the 500 worlds will be coming out late 2025, so either within the next six weeks or early 2026, yeah, March, it'll be March. [SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, until then, we'll do this because it has to, that has to come out. [SPEAKER_00]: I have to read all of it and then we can do a cast on it. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll get there. [SPEAKER_00]: So, for the hit of the cast, we clearly show in the Lord of Warhammer 40K Universe, releasing every Monday at 7 p.m., again, Eastern Standard. [SPEAKER_00]: That's important. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they would have figured it out. [SPEAKER_00]: But the everyone who's done a really great job of following and commenting, it is amazing seeing our ranking overall is great, but more importantly, just nice having discoverability, having people come in, we're still getting constantly new people to the cast. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's because of all the comments and likes you guys have done, Spotify, iTunes, etc. [SPEAKER_00]: Are telling people, hey, this guys are kind of cool to listen to, give them a shout. [SPEAKER_00]: So, awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: If you like the show and you want more of it, click on the show notes to our YouTube page, Brad and I do a every two month-ish Q&A. [SPEAKER_00]: We have one that would have happened about a week and a go. [SPEAKER_00]: We can have to go at this point. [SPEAKER_00]: So you can go there. [SPEAKER_00]: Great little spot for us. [SPEAKER_00]: And then in 2026, we're hoping to launch a couple extra shows over there. [SPEAKER_00]: We currently have the history of 40K, which covers the history of the tabletop game. [SPEAKER_00]: But the hope is that a few other shows kick out next year, just more amount of gigs and schedules down in some turnaround times. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's how we're doing this stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: We have a Patreon, a big thank you to everyone who's been contributing already. [SPEAKER_00]: It allows us to actually get some of this other stuff going. [SPEAKER_00]: We can get stuff like engineers for audio. [SPEAKER_00]: We can get some help on video which allows us to do more because I just, unfortunately, have a job so I can't do this full time. [SPEAKER_00]: So thank you for that. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for that. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for being on Patreon or allowing us to really expand out what we're able to do. [SPEAKER_00]: It means a lot to us. [SPEAKER_00]: Patreon is $4.99 a month. [SPEAKER_00]: That gets you [SPEAKER_00]: the show and the history of 40k ad free, but last week we covered what it, you know, where you would go if you like it cold. [SPEAKER_00]: And this week for only 427 in euros, you can go somewhere that has over 300 days of sunshine a year. [SPEAKER_00]: I also do like that this point, our cast is a global measurement of the US dollar. [SPEAKER_00]: because every week I get to, we do Euro like once a month, and I keep watching, I keep listening to it move around. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, Cyprus, Cyprus is located in the far east of the Mediterranean Sea. [SPEAKER_00]: It's held to some of the oldest relics in Europe, dating back 9,500 years, making them actually older than Egyptians' society. [SPEAKER_00]: Cyprus has been a key part of the Mediterranean as it was important to the Greeks, the Romans, the Persians, the Ottomans, and actually some others. [SPEAKER_00]: The reason for this is they're a critical stop on the Silk Road. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a nice island that you can put supplies on and defend them. [SPEAKER_00]: So pretty cool thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Also as part of the British Empire at one point because who wasn't? [SPEAKER_00]: A couple of fun facts about Cyprus. [SPEAKER_00]: They have the world's oldest wine. [SPEAKER_00]: Come on, Daria. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a desert wine. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been around since at least 2000 BC. [SPEAKER_00]: And for the record, it's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: I've had it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: You're sweet. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't like sweet things. [SPEAKER_00]: You're a penny on sweet things means nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't like cake. [SPEAKER_01]: I was waiting for that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, I don't like any of these sweets. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't like cake. [SPEAKER_00]: No one wants to hear. [SPEAKER_00]: It's too sweet. [SPEAKER_00]: Shut up, Brad. [SPEAKER_00]: The other thing is that Alan is so beautiful that the Greek goddess Aphrodite, they believe she was born there. [SPEAKER_00]: And fun one. [SPEAKER_00]: They're an island of cats. [SPEAKER_00]: The lore is that the island got over on with snakes, and so on brought cats there to eat all the snakes, and they did, so now there's more cats than people there, no word in current snake or mouse populations, but they're cypress, now you know, lastly we also have our discord, great little good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good, good [SPEAKER_00]: If that's a little community, great massive community you guys can jump into, great place to talk to Brad and I ask those questions for more importantly, talk to other people who have similar interests to you. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the real value there. [SPEAKER_00]: You need to go in there, tons of literature recommendations, tons of ideas, great spot for people to explain to me when I get things wrong, which drives me nuts every time, but I do and I own it, it just sucks I get it wrong, even though having notes in front of me, but whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Great community. [SPEAKER_00]: We've had painting competitions now, meetups. [SPEAKER_00]: There's a whole bunch of stuff going on in there. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's a really great place that if you're either, but they're a veteran of 40k or new to 40k, come on in, join it and have some fun with us. [SPEAKER_00]: But, speaking of having fun, Titus, incarcerated by the order of Malias. [SPEAKER_00]: He's on, let's just say he's on ice right now. [SPEAKER_00]: So at the end of our last cast, we got into the fact that Titus had been imprisoned by Thrax and Inquisitor for the Ordo Malias. [SPEAKER_00]: Thrax had tried to find the corruption side of Titus and had found there was no one. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, whoa, John, let's to be fair. [SPEAKER_00]: He wishes he was only just captured. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus is fine. [SPEAKER_00]: We're being honest, Titus was [SPEAKER_01]: It means he's fine, but he's also not happy. [SPEAKER_01]: He's unconscious for part of the time. [SPEAKER_00]: Really? [SPEAKER_00]: Of the two of us who spent more time unconscious on an operating table. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, me, my father had it hurts also with a hurt. [SPEAKER_00]: It hurts when you wake up. [SPEAKER_00]: I thought my point is that's the thing. [SPEAKER_00]: When you wake up, they do. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, except for the fact that when Titus woke up, each and every time he woke up, it was, hey, man, what am I woken up? [SPEAKER_01]: Get it being woken up for? [SPEAKER_01]: Torture, sweet, even though they didn't call it torture. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, let's let him order the detail, but the thing you were in the hospital for last time, I think you would have preferred to have been asleep during it. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so much. [SPEAKER_01]: I would have [SPEAKER_00]: Why do I have to be conscious for this? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we've got to ask you questions while doing this thing to you. [SPEAKER_00]: This feels inappropriate and I don't like any of you. [SPEAKER_00]: So, but back to Titus, who had a similar experience. [SPEAKER_00]: So, Titus have been captured by Thrax. [SPEAKER_00]: after months of testing, his mind was proven to be clear. [SPEAKER_01]: Keep popping them out. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about what happened on that. [SPEAKER_01]: Because Titus is out, he tries, he's, Thrax is just dead set that Titus has corrupted. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's effectively just poking him with a stick. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he puts him in stasis, pops him out of stasis, pokes him with a stick, puts him back into stasis. [SPEAKER_01]: And this happens like multiple times. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the problem, the issue is, and this is kind of a, I don't know, GW did call this out in that after Threx dies, the order of Malias, you know, he died of corruption. [SPEAKER_00]: It was pretty quick corruption, but he was corruption. [SPEAKER_00]: The order of Malias didn't get involved. [SPEAKER_00]: They want to go figure out how they lose one of their own to corruption. [SPEAKER_00]: So instead of conclave of inquisitors into looking at the Threx, [SPEAKER_00]: And when they get there they discover his like facilities is not bottom of the galaxy of some random world he's got this special prison I mean they find tightness in them actually they find more than just tightness [SPEAKER_01]: and it was all people that he was poking with states because he was dead set that they were all corrupted. [SPEAKER_00]: But again, when I look at throcks, I don't see throcks as being like, we have corrupt inquisters and throughout the lore quite a lot of them actually. [SPEAKER_00]: And my opinion, throcks is not one of those ones who follows the corruption years and spends years in it. [SPEAKER_00]: Throcks was just a person who was obsessed with corruption. [SPEAKER_01]: and he saw I think in time to see so also he also saw the fact that he didn't want to be wrong I get that like a lot for everything we have yeah you see don't actually come on man. [SPEAKER_01]: He knows he had that whole like a told you is corrupted you know like he is definitely not corrupted he'll eventually be corrupted. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just put him in the freezer and see how it goes. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I took a different way. [SPEAKER_00]: I saw Therax as seeing Titus as being an ultimate weapon and it's less about trying to it's more of like the last of us. [SPEAKER_00]: It's the idea of whatever's inside of Titus would be the greatest weapon for the Imperium ever. [SPEAKER_00]: I need that weapon. [SPEAKER_00]: That's where I think this went down to. [SPEAKER_01]: So they're trying to deadpool him? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dead, but whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: What's her name in last of us? [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I'll think of it in like two minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's what I think of more of that. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a better weapon. [SPEAKER_00]: The appearing is full of blanks, right? [SPEAKER_00]: The blanks are not special. [SPEAKER_00]: For those of you who may be Yeah, but they wreck people and it feels terrible too. [SPEAKER_00]: But for those of you who don't know the blanks, because they maybe you're just in the tightest cast alone, we call the blank is someone who's resistant to the warp and we call them blanks because they appear as a void within the warp. [SPEAKER_01]: I was just by saying, now resistant to the war, the resistant to the war because of the fact that they don't show up in the war, but they also pull away the war. [SPEAKER_01]: They also make everybody sad at that next team. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's a side effect of it. [SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is, like, a sisters of silence, ever-saurus assins, they're all blacks. [SPEAKER_00]: And so their pat their powers are so much they can even diminish the power of a Cycle but as Brad was just saying they also affect people around them because people are all Warp sensitive and they cover this in one of the more recent books that our soul is actually tied to the warp And so if you put someone around them that creates that disrupts that you feel almost detached from your soul So you feel that's something around them. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not fun being around them [SPEAKER_00]: It's like making a phone call and elevator. [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of how I like to describe it. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're around a blank, where yeah, you're technically on the phone, but it's not really all the way working and you're not quite there. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think facts and the inquisition saw in Titus, this same blank power but without the blank negative. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is because Titus is not a blank. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just resistant specifically to chaos, which is a huge deal. [SPEAKER_00]: In fact, it's like maybe the biggest deal in all of the imperium. [SPEAKER_01]: Also because if you can utilize war power and not be corrupted you have powerful powerful people Yeah, that's the great. [SPEAKER_00]: That's already. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's what it is. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not that dissent. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a great night without the psycher thing And you'll have to imbue the emperor and do him. [SPEAKER_00]: So you could actually take him and clone him a bunch You have like a chapter of Titus is which I think is titan eye. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been I've taken Latin. [SPEAKER_00]: I've done Latin [SPEAKER_00]: What's been 30 years like to glad and I think it's I think it's us I from not mistake is a I if yeah, there is yeah, us I. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, Titanic. [SPEAKER_00]: Titanic whatever you probably shouldn't call it the chapter Titanic [SPEAKER_00]: This the second company of type the second company of Titan I are here. [SPEAKER_00]: That's better than supplicators Fallen stars these are actual titles guys Fallen stars the Goth chapter the contenders Which are the same contenders are the worst thing because by the way Rocky one good movie every other Rocky movie not good And then my favorite that terror tigers are watch out here come the terror tigers [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's that are, great. [SPEAKER_00]: Those are your two options on terror tigers. [SPEAKER_00]: It sounds, it, terror tigers sound like a six year old soccer club. [SPEAKER_01]: I need to get a terror tigers chapter going now. [SPEAKER_01]: So I can just have Tony the tiger and a bunch of tiger marines. [SPEAKER_00]: Just to get to sit there, every, I could 3D print you a carry in case. [SPEAKER_00]: That would just, that would be a frosted flakes box. [SPEAKER_01]: Pour them out. [UNKNOWN]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But every time he's going to come, he had to go, RARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR [SPEAKER_00]: he couldn't figure out how to turn tires to no mass weapon, but he wanted to. [SPEAKER_00]: So he figured I'll put you in stasis. [SPEAKER_00]: We're figuring this out. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to end the arch enemy with this [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I have to start. [SPEAKER_01]: He has to be corrupted to be an ass. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, all the inquisitors are though. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's just that's part of being inquisitive. [SPEAKER_01]: Just some way to agree or not. [SPEAKER_01]: I just think that he was kind of a big shit head. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he started off as a douche and then at the end, he got corrupted. [SPEAKER_01]: But he was doing questionable stuff, which inquisitors do constant, because they are. [SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, I view Threx a weird thing to do, but I view him as a detective who works like special victims units. [SPEAKER_00]: It just, I think Threx is just so messed up from what he has to deal with all day every day. [SPEAKER_00]: He's just the second he thinks you're a problem. [SPEAKER_00]: He just is like, all right, I only want to deal with this problem anymore. [SPEAKER_01]: I got it. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I got the feel that even for inquisitors. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm probably wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Everyone else is going to watch us. [SPEAKER_00]: No, it's Rax is just a straight up bad guy. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm like, yeah, I'm trying to add some complexity to it, because otherwise, otherwise, otherwise I'm tagging us a boring. [SPEAKER_00]: You're like, oh, this is a bad guy with you. [SPEAKER_00]: All bad things. [SPEAKER_00]: Is this a cartoon for seven-year-olds? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, why don't we just add some back story making it more interesting? [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, we also should mention that Titus' abduction by the inquisition did not go unnoticed or without protest. [SPEAKER_00]: Calgar himself spent over a hundred years constantly recommending the return of his brother. [SPEAKER_00]: He wanted at first an update, where is he? [SPEAKER_00]: And then just like, [SPEAKER_00]: why is he not back and the inquisition just ignored it. [SPEAKER_00]: So eventually Titus was marked as MIA and during this time, Cato secaryus became the leader of the second company. [SPEAKER_00]: Cato entices actually having interesting relationship because their stories, it's actually impressive, [SPEAKER_00]: they overlap in the lore, but GW read content just enough that they don't. [SPEAKER_00]: It's pretty good. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, I like it quite a bit though. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, I dig it though. [SPEAKER_00]: Because when you first think that the reason that Cato has two models currently, yeah, it really is like the way that that if you look at the writing and timing on the writing, they found basically a way to make these two overlap both as captains of second company and not have it be an issue. [SPEAKER_00]: So, [SPEAKER_00]: The inquisition arrived at Therax's base, and they find not only Titus, but about a dozen other space marines all in Stasis, all a bit accused of heresy, it's mentioned to a ton of testing that they'd all passed, but... Oh, it's just what, let's throw that out there. [SPEAKER_01]: This is a bigger deal on this. [SPEAKER_01]: Because everyone, this is why I think Brexit's a piece, because all of these guys would have been instigilled if you would have found any sort of corruption, but he kept all of them in Stasis. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's why I just screw up and again, I'm literally writing something for GW to think didn't write, but I'm coming up and saying, I think it's because he wanted to turn them into something else. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it says much that, oh yeah, you passed all my corruption tests. [SPEAKER_00]: You passed the light detector. [SPEAKER_00]: We're doing another one tomorrow and then tomorrow and then tomorrow. [SPEAKER_00]: I see it more as a, I think you should just accept he's a whole bag of douche. [SPEAKER_00]: But I really, it's just that's such lazy writing that I just refuse to accept it. [SPEAKER_00]: So, what happens next is kind of funny. [SPEAKER_00]: The Ordo Mallis has now found a bunch of imprisonment of starters, which they're all have done nothing wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: And they decide to not do their traditional thing, which is just kill them all and burn the place down, because that's usually what the equation does when confronted with evidence of their own failure. [SPEAKER_00]: Is they do the naked gun, nothing to see here, fireworks store, move a log, move a log, [SPEAKER_00]: nothing to see here. [SPEAKER_00]: But in this case, the English actually decided, I my opinion, that the information gleaned from Thrax was a value. [SPEAKER_00]: And there was enough evidence that Titus wasn't a heretics, they released him and the other ones. [SPEAKER_00]: sort of, and I say sort of because the Imperiums weird, they have a galaxy-wide communication ability, but unless the message is important, the whole thing fails. [SPEAKER_01]: Then it's never goes through, ever, ever, ever. [SPEAKER_00]: It's basically like being on an iPhone on the AT&T network in 2007. [SPEAKER_00]: That's Jesus, is that who you worked for, right, Brad? [SPEAKER_00]: Indeed, I do, is that the one where if you were on the iPhone and you made a call to someone who was also on the iPhone and you could see that person, the call would go through. [SPEAKER_00]: That's about it. [SPEAKER_00]: I had the same network as two cans with a string, but. [SPEAKER_00]: Despite his discovery and release, no one tells the ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: So they don't know that Titus has been found, and he's saying that I've never been a heretic nor will ever be a heretic, and he joins the death watch not because the prove anything. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, he doesn't because there's no word from the ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus was taken by the inquisition, assumes that the ultramarines aren't reaching out to him, because they're ashamed of him. [SPEAKER_00]: And therefore, what he decides to do as well, I'm going to go, if I even a pant and crusade, he just is like, all right, well, the alternatives don't want me. [SPEAKER_00]: I still love the Imperium. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to serve the Imperium as a still not heretic. [SPEAKER_00]: And he joins the death watch. [SPEAKER_00]: But he joins the death watch as a black shield. [SPEAKER_00]: And so for those, again, who were, didn't listen to it real quick, [SPEAKER_00]: When you join the Death Watch, your chapter paints your armor black for you, but they preserve one Paul-Drin. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't remember if it's left or right. [SPEAKER_00]: It's only one of them. [SPEAKER_00]: It's always the same side. [SPEAKER_00]: And that Paul-Drin will contain your original chapter's territory. [SPEAKER_00]: So when you fight for the death watch, you've got your ultramarines, your silver scars, or whatever it's going to be, your terror tigers. [SPEAKER_00]: They're not welcome the Death Watch. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm tired. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm tired. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm tired. [SPEAKER_00]: The terror dire, you've got that poldron, and everyone knows that's who you're with, but some people join the death watch because of a problem. [SPEAKER_00]: Either their chapter fell, the common one is that their chapter fell to heresy, and they were loyal, then they joined. [SPEAKER_00]: Others have made a mistake, because part of a penitence to the chapter. [SPEAKER_00]: These ones were two death watch buttons, and they're known as black shields, because it's a black poldron. [SPEAKER_00]: So, Titus assumes he's lost the honor of his chap there and he enters the death watches a black shield. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, and because of this, Titus goes in semi-shamed, also he's been gone for a while since no one's seen. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, about 100 years. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: But 100 years. [SPEAKER_01]: So for whatever reason, he just decides to enter with sec and decides to be noticed. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he chooses a new name when he joins the death watch, basically throwing off his old identity because of all the things that are happening right now. [SPEAKER_01]: and you have to think though he hasn't heard anything at all. [SPEAKER_01]: So there is a whole lot of man. [SPEAKER_01]: I did a lot of good work, but all these dudes talked a wild amount of shit about me, possibly being corrupt and doing all this stuff, and then my chapter didn't come back for me. [SPEAKER_01]: Well crap, like what is happening? [SPEAKER_00]: It's a nullist now joins the death watch and he's the same badass he was as an ultramarine it's not known how many engagements he went on or how many he knows he killed but it's a lot it's a lot a lot and he was he was engaged with the death watch for a while it wasn't like [SPEAKER_00]: this tiny. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it wasn't a little six week adventure. [SPEAKER_00]: He was there for a long time. [SPEAKER_00]: And to be fair, Titus had decided long ago that he was ready to die as a nameless member of the death watch. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what he just accepted. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the tear, all this happens in the tear and it's come back. [SPEAKER_00]: And the tear and it's come back. [SPEAKER_00]: So high fleet the Viathon, which is our 10th edition, 40k, is the backdrop of Space Marine 2. [SPEAKER_00]: This is a high fleet, the violent is entered the galaxy from everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is the largest tiered invasion ever by a magnitude, by the way, not like, oh, last time there was 10 million territons in this time is 11. [SPEAKER_00]: It's like, no, last time there was a billion territons. [SPEAKER_00]: And this time there's a quadrillion. [SPEAKER_00]: And by actually taking both those numbers and adds zeroes to them, because there's a lot of territons. [SPEAKER_01]: Several eaten. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: What happens is as high-fleet Leviathan's coming to the galaxy, all the Watts fortresses activate, and they launch these full blown assaults into the creeping turn-invations, because what the Imperium has learned is that you want to eliminate or at least kind of, you want to, yeah, you have to, one of the things that the Imperium has learned overfighting the turn-ins for. [SPEAKER_01]: years and years and years now is you can't fight them full on because you end up giving mass biomass to the ternids and then it's almost like fighting in fantasy undead where you keep having more and more soldiers. [SPEAKER_01]: So what you have to do is the ternids fleets put out tendrils and they put out forces that go and you chop off pieces of those tendrils [SPEAKER_01]: And that's how you effectively fight the tiernances, slice off pieces of the fleet as you go. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: And what they're trying to do is effectively make it so a forceful assault is more effective. [SPEAKER_00]: The issue for the Imperium is that we're going to throw guards and even space marines at these things, but we need to not to bounce when they hit there. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to weaken them. [SPEAKER_00]: One of them, the areas that they target is their recidious system. [SPEAKER_00]: So kill team Cassarian is deployed to Caduka, which is one of the planets there. [SPEAKER_00]: The plan was to assault deploy a virus bomb into the high fleet. [SPEAKER_00]: This would then blunt the assault temporarily, because Tierenets will obviously adapt to anything, but this would give the guards a chance to muster and deploy full force back in and maybe save the plan. [SPEAKER_00]: But the death watch were not the only support being sent there. [SPEAKER_00]: The most noble of all of the chapters had been sent the Ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: The whole thing, John. [SPEAKER_00]: Give it the whole thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank the Emperor, because it's way better than the child murdering flame guys. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Very much. [SPEAKER_01]: Study everything. [SPEAKER_01]: Leviathan enters the galaxy. [SPEAKER_01]: Every world gives immediate beacon. [SPEAKER_01]: They are spamming the button for the nurse to come into the room. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: We need some help everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, the sky is black. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's a real thing, actually, when the tear nets come in, they blanket the sky with so many bugs you can't see. [SPEAKER_01]: But everything is coming. [SPEAKER_01]: Leviathan's so big, it's just hitting kind of everything. [SPEAKER_00]: All the systems are getting overwhelmed at the same time. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and what ends up happening is the Ultramarines begin deploying forces. [SPEAKER_00]: The Ultramarines, the plate are not a great spot, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: The plague wars have just devastated Ultramar, but the cool thing about the Ultramarines is that they recognize when [SPEAKER_00]: the needs outweigh anything else. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they could sit on ultra mar and build up their forces, but in doing so, there would be no imperium to go back to. [SPEAKER_00]: So they send everyone all over the place. [SPEAKER_00]: The Ultra means deploy forces to assist in feeding this high fleet that is everywhere, including first captain Severus Agamon and Severus. [SPEAKER_01]: Agamon, it's not, yeah, I just can't, I'm calling him that. [SPEAKER_01]: Agamon, I did that last time, but doing it again. [SPEAKER_00]: But more importantly, Chief Librarian Tigerius. [SPEAKER_00]: That's going to come up to you, to you, to you rock, to you really well. [SPEAKER_00]: So back to this thing, kill team Casserin arrives and could do coup before the old trimmerings get there. [SPEAKER_00]: And their Corvus Black star is somehow not prepared to fly through what Gargoyles. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a really cool scene, but I'm going to call out like, how does the Ordo Zeno's not prepared to fly through Gargoyles? [SPEAKER_00]: See, like, that's like a number. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, the number one thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, it's specifically designed to take out Zino's threats and somehow gargoyles, but hand in the tailpipe took it down. [SPEAKER_00]: This is like saying, hey, we've built the best boat ever, but don't put it in water. [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of what we got here. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't get this. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a cool scene. [SPEAKER_00]: Now just one little bit here. [SPEAKER_00]: If you haven't played space during time, let's see a little bit, John. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, let's do, let's start with not a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: When we say a little bit, I mean flashing me on lights over top of the Vegas casino. [SPEAKER_01]: We are going to spoil space marine to the video game. [SPEAKER_01]: So unbelievably bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Spoiler alert, second spoiler alert. [SPEAKER_01]: If you're still here after this one, [SPEAKER_01]: Well, either you played it or you're willing for us to spoil it, let's continue now. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, so Nullis gets separated from his kill team because they're all dead. [SPEAKER_00]: And he's able to recover the tox and it fights his way to the planetary defenses to replicate it and then fire it into the atmosphere. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess maybe it's a stratosphere, what else to do? [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, in doing so, the swarm is temporarily abated allowing the forces of the Imperium to organize and fight. [SPEAKER_01]: while doing this, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no [SPEAKER_00]: And as he's about to die, an ultramine soul blade squad teleports in. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, this soul blade is just a silly name for a strike force, because it can be either a start is or such as a battle. [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if it's supposed to be soul blade, like they're from the system soul, or so low blade, it's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: It's blue. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so blue. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so you. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's not, but that'd be a lot fun. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: They've got music. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: But no, this is saved by the squad and brought back to the Ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_00]: Tiggy. [SPEAKER_00]: Because apparently, as soon as they got into the system, Tegirius could sense Titus. [SPEAKER_00]: This is Tegirius is the most powerful walking around Psychohuman Cygrya, because Impers kind of human, but outside of that, it's Tiggy. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That said, kind of, it's taking, and he, all of a sudden, senses the lost captain's second company, and taking, just locates him almost immediately. [SPEAKER_00]: This is wild, tightest of fighting to the Earth, by the way, and orders at the, like, go get him. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they teleport down, they grab his body, and they actually bring it back to the righteous fury, which is the capital ship of the Ultramarines. [SPEAKER_00]: However, Titus is a little bit worse for where. [SPEAKER_00]: Turns out, it turns out, right fighting a Carnifax mono-emano, like Kingsbury's style, is not ideal. [SPEAKER_00]: And so they give him extra gene seeds and organs, which, by the way, [SPEAKER_00]: It's also a group of kind. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but it's a really weird thing about it. [SPEAKER_00]: So you're really injured. [SPEAKER_00]: You super beat up. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, let's do extra surgery on you and put more stuff in you because it My name is means he'll faster and stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: So, but also how do you going to feel from the initial surgery? [SPEAKER_01]: How did you do it like they jumped to a lot of I better yeah Yeah, we're you just way better than right after like yeah 100% I jumped up and ran Yeah, I was like we have also did you know if you watched me three two though You play the game when he comes out from the Rubicon surgery and they show him shirt off You're like You have all of the scar tissue he had oh, it looked like they were operating out him with samurai soren's yeah [SPEAKER_01]: caught up. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back after a quick break. [SPEAKER_00]: So after he's recovering or before recovery, it's not only clear when he does this tiger, tigerious does another like psychic phone call to Marnius Calgar. [SPEAKER_00]: And he tells Calgar, hey, we found Titus and also I scan Titus and there's no hint of corruption this all in which Calgar goes good enough for me and reinstate Titus is an ultramar. [SPEAKER_00]: Just full stop. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And for no reason whatsoever because we just didn't have enough lieutenant models in the game. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: There's millions of them. [SPEAKER_01]: Titus gets a demotion. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, you're the emotion because, again, GW had to fit him in because, you know, cater stuff, I mean, yes, but just like you're like, hey, man, you went through all these other things. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, we are docked you down. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, and they're also was a current captain, a big, it actually makes sense. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you have, our caron is currently in charge, and you think about it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's tight. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been a week for 120 years. [SPEAKER_00]: It'd be weird to be like, hey, it's, it's at our caron, our caron, a caron. [SPEAKER_00]: I know you would do a good job in leading the second company, rockin' and rollin', but here's this dude who hasn't been around for 130 years, wearing a put him in charge. [SPEAKER_00]: Does he know what a theory it is? [SPEAKER_00]: Actually he does now, but he might not have back then. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, he would have back then. [SPEAKER_00]: But the put me, he doesn't know as much, but he could still be in charge. [SPEAKER_00]: Why would that matter? [SPEAKER_00]: So they don't, they can't attend it. [SPEAKER_01]: He just funny there, you just wait, tennis gets a broad deal quite a bit. [SPEAKER_00]: the most in his time. [SPEAKER_00]: But once he wakes up, Titus first meeting is with a very angry chaplain who is more than happy to inform Titus that in effect he had brought back to the chapter against the wishes of said chaplain. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, we learn more later as a wife, but Titus wished to return to the death watch actually. [SPEAKER_00]: He comes out. [SPEAKER_00]: Go to it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so kind of just go continue my watch in which case the chaplain informs him. [SPEAKER_00]: Know your vigil is over. [SPEAKER_00]: You've been declared free of corruption and if you really want to redeem yourself, you're going to have to do it as an ultrimary. [SPEAKER_01]: So hold on, given the second part though, but also. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, man. [SPEAKER_01]: You're totally [SPEAKER_01]: you got it. [SPEAKER_01]: You're going to redeem yourself. [SPEAKER_01]: We got no corruption whatsoever. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, if I think you even eat your breakfast a little bit awkward, I'm going to shoot you in the back of the head. [SPEAKER_00]: And also, you're not going to let it tell anyone where you've been or who you are. [SPEAKER_00]: So a bunch of bunch of people are going to get this random new dude showing up. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll hollow fellow. [SPEAKER_00]: Hello, fellow, space marine. [SPEAKER_00]: I was like, what is going on here? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so Titus then put in charge of a two-man crew of Gajrael and Kairan, and Gajrael was the former squad leader and now got demoted to not squad leader for Titus. [SPEAKER_00]: So Titus, you know, it's a nice little chain effect. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus gets the motive. [SPEAKER_00]: Gajrael gets the motive. [SPEAKER_00]: There's probably some other person who got demoted, someone else that kicked off the squad. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: Gadgetrel is written to basically be the newly androce, which is super annoying for the record because this game is a pretty solid We're not going to go with rip off, but it's not that this similar for space marine one. [SPEAKER_00]: I assume it's significantly better in the space. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, by a human space marine. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so I also didn't hate him as much as I did landress. [SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I just think in space marine three we're going to get [SPEAKER_00]: Titus having to fight a Xenos invasion that then turns out to be a chaos invasion and no one's going to believe him and then he's going to overcome it and everyone's going to come around to his side because that's basically two in a row now. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, so at first, God's real is thrilled, serving that Death Watch is a big deal and so being led by someone with this much Xeno knowledge is kind of a privilege. [SPEAKER_00]: But then, they discovered Titus was a black shield, meaning that he'd done something to offend the chapter, which makes him less cool. [SPEAKER_00]: This is important part of the game. [SPEAKER_00]: But first mission, or maybe the second mission, Titus and the crew were sent to recover the assets from a crash thunderhawk. [SPEAKER_00]: The crew were all dead, but there's an artifact present. [SPEAKER_00]: And when he touches it, Titus loses consciousness. [SPEAKER_00]: Also, the crew of the thunderhawk worked not killed by tyrannids, but by chaos forces. [SPEAKER_00]: Surprise, surprise. [SPEAKER_00]: Because again, there's a denows invasion, but actually, it's a cover for a chaos. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, Titus gets a big flag. [SPEAKER_01]: He gets a [SPEAKER_01]: Commander Sheppard with the beacon kind of flash when he touches. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but anyway, this time the evils are a thousand sons and no one knows their motives yet. [SPEAKER_00]: So Tyuson's crew were then sent on another mission to track down a missing tech priest. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is because this tech priest is viewed as having important information for the Imperium, basically. [SPEAKER_00]: They have to use a cogeotator in order to track his location. [SPEAKER_00]: And when you use a cogeotator, everything in the Imperium is coded. [SPEAKER_00]: So you have to use a code to access the cogeotator, which that code though was a full admin credentials basically. [SPEAKER_00]: So Titus goes into it and starts looking at stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: Finds this? [SPEAKER_01]: I love this part because Titus goes, yeah, I need to find out where this book is in library. [SPEAKER_01]: Or I can also look up the entire library of Congress, which is what he does immediately. [SPEAKER_00]: So he discovers something they're called Project Aurora and looks into it further and Titus discovers that the artifact in Project Awards, what he had touched before, is the same thing from Space Marine One, back on Greya. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like stirred. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not thrilled. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just called the powers of thinking this point, but he's not thrilled by that, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: They tracked on the missing tech priest named Luz. [SPEAKER_00]: And when they rescue him, Luz spills the beans to Gadriel and Cairon, that Titus was the former captain of the second company and disappeared after the chaos incident on Grya. [SPEAKER_00]: At which point, Gadriel gets suspicious makes a pouty face. [SPEAKER_01]: He's lame. [SPEAKER_01]: He's not the address lame, but still lame. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's whole thing is silly. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus was reinstated by Calgar. [SPEAKER_00]: Feels like you can take that one at face value. [SPEAKER_00]: Just throwing out there. [SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, let's talk about what happens here. [SPEAKER_01]: Titus is bent rightfully so. [SPEAKER_01]: He's had nothing but bad shit happen, and then he just wanders up and goes, really? [SPEAKER_01]: We're still just, hey man, what's going on with the cursed item? [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe if we poke it a couple more times, something good will happen. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So he's been on a shape. [SPEAKER_01]: He knows that nothing good's going to come of this. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't know why it's still being actively used or at least investigated. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's what happens is he goes to acaron and tells him, hey, [SPEAKER_00]: We need to call Calguard, tell him that truth about product Aurora, because the bad point he knows, product Aurora is going to backfire. [SPEAKER_00]: Akaron tells Titus that kind of, tell guys, just right out, the shadow of the warp is locked out. [SPEAKER_01]: This is actually a real thing. [SPEAKER_01]: For a change, there's a reason that communications don't work, because the tiered shadow of the warp actually blocks [SPEAKER_01]: everything. [SPEAKER_01]: It blocks communication, but it blocks psychic communication also because it's a giant. [SPEAKER_01]: But it's almost like wild white noise everywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: You can't get through it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a tight as a solution. [SPEAKER_00]: It's quite just kill the hive tire to get a work won't it? [SPEAKER_00]: And Akron goes, well, yeah, because, man, so they go into a venture and they kill a hive tyrant. [SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of how that goes. [SPEAKER_01]: Significant by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Pretty cool. [SPEAKER_01]: It's also a pretty cool animation. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a cool animation It just seems a little bit easier than I think it should be but whatever who cares. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean while we use your Calgrish It's also a one-player game. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're just rolling out with Titans. [SPEAKER_00]: It's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: I've been between this and Rogue Trader I like Rogue Trader more than this, but in the game Rogue Trader you do some stuff really. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know you can't do that There's like you're not beating a Lord of Change just [SPEAKER_00]: Also, if you haven't played road trader, that is such a game that feels like it's space Marine 2 is a better kind of like enjoying a 40k game. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a shooter game, but man, road trader is deep because data and the expansions are really good, but I digress. [SPEAKER_00]: They tie this after killing the high of tyrant goes the atropathic choirs in the message to Calgar, at which point as he's trying to do it, the lead astropath starts accusing Titus of being a heretics, right, pointing on that thing, you're trying to kill Calgar. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what you're really doing, blah, blah. [SPEAKER_00]: And Gadriel's like, yeah, I knew it, and he attacks Titus, which is dumb, and then while the two of them are having, they're not full fighting, but they're kind of doing that like sparring thing where no one's getting hurt yet, a gunshot occurs, and it's Kyron just having killed the Astropath. [SPEAKER_00]: And then the Astropath turns into a chaos sorcerer named Lord. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're so Lord, thank you very much. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Drain into Lord Imura, who had possessed the Astropath. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, funds turn on Cairon, he's from Culf, which actually is a big deal because of how old that makes him. [SPEAKER_00]: But those who don't know at the outbreak of the heresy, the word bears attacked the planet Culf. [SPEAKER_00]: They basically, they're using as a staging ground to both devastate the Ultramarines, but also perform a spell that would bring about a massive workstorm to keep the Ultramar's that part of the galaxy. [SPEAKER_00]: Kyron was there as an Ultramarine, meaning that Kyron is 10,000 years old, which they totally just gloss over and became. [SPEAKER_00]: Plus, I would say they blew off. [SPEAKER_00]: because I actually missed this to us and I played through it and I read it like what I went back and played it again. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, so I guess he mustn't put a stasis for injuries and then when call made the primarismarines, he was one of the ones that he would then converted over for the early Rubicon conversions. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Cairo says 10,000 years old. [SPEAKER_00]: It's basically him and what's the space we'll have dread not? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so he's almost your nage, but not in a dread not. [SPEAKER_01]: He's basically both awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so funny on this because he's so There's your a trainer. [SPEAKER_01]: You're corrupted and all this and all of a sudden he just goes ah [SPEAKER_01]: No, we're not. [SPEAKER_01]: You have my sword, my shield, my action, just like, workers, we fair, Goddriel. [SPEAKER_00]: I think what they're trying to get to is that Goddriel trusts Kyron to the end of the earth. [SPEAKER_00]: Kyron was on call, and says, yeah, look, I can kind of sense corruption. [SPEAKER_00]: And since that was corruption, so I shot the astropath. [SPEAKER_00]: So now, [SPEAKER_00]: Gadriel's all on team Titus, and the three merry men are all aligned and ready to go kick ass and chew bubble gum. [SPEAKER_00]: But unfortunately in the 41st millennia, there's a massive shortage of bubble gum. [SPEAKER_00]: So, now we're getting the game starts to move a lot quicker now. [SPEAKER_00]: We get a lot of reveals, so they refer to Arcaron, Titus shares his findings, and a spy. [SPEAKER_01]: So why does he just shoot him in the head at this point in time? [SPEAKER_01]: Because as soon as he finds, he gives him his findings, they go, oh, that's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: And you were there for the first time. [SPEAKER_01]: And everything went to shit. [SPEAKER_01]: What if we do exactly the same thing again and see if the results differ. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so this time, despite everything Titus says, they go nice, but we know how to use it better this time. [SPEAKER_00]: There's no way it'll happen again. [SPEAKER_00]: So they go to the world called Demirium, which is a grave world, so it's where, you know, it's very important people, but used to be a Necron Tomb world, still a Necron Tomb world, I guess, technically, but whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: And the mechanical Morse plan was we'll just combine Necronteknology with the power source to make the ultimate anti-warb weapon. [SPEAKER_00]: Except the power source. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a Necronteknology. [SPEAKER_00]: Exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I got a script plan. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll use Necronteknology. [SPEAKER_00]: I'll look at buying it with other Necronteknology. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm going to use it to do stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: And it also, you literally drew this up in the garage, and you're like, this will 100% 60% maybe, who knows, flip it going, work for sure, I hope. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so eventually they get the weapon and they get into a battle with the evil sorcery in Iraq and they defeat him and they activate the weapon right at him because the idea is we're going to take all we're going to attack your work powers and in what is basically a clone of space marine one it turns out that they were wrong and opens a giant portal the image and a ton of they believe it yeah kind of zimch demons come pouring through [SPEAKER_00]: And it looks awesome in the game, otherwise the cinematics here are incredible, just the writing's not. [SPEAKER_00]: But after retreating, the Ultra means kind of lick their wounds and like, well, what are we going to do next? [SPEAKER_00]: And they decide that the Aurora project has polarities to it. [SPEAKER_00]: And right now it's making more warp. [SPEAKER_00]: But if we flip it the other way, it'll take the warp away. [SPEAKER_00]: Or in space balls terms, we take it from suck to blow to blow. [SPEAKER_00]: Which I wish they just done yeah, I wish they just done that in the mood and it would have been a bunch of just do a little space balls or much I would have been happy so [SPEAKER_01]: But let's, to be fair, this, the, what they're doing in the story is okay, but what happens in the cinematic, in the game is holy crap, bad to the bone. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, this, I'll be honest, this game came out and when it released, there was, it was fairly buggy. [SPEAKER_00]: I stayed away from it originally and the whole reason I ended up playing the game was this one scene. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is the scene where the ultramarines are holding out, like I guess, last hope on a rock as an endless sort of demons, hell, broots, thousands of songs are bearing down to them. [SPEAKER_01]: Flying, there's people at this is the inch everywhere, yeah, if they'd kill Gar, if the vitric's Garg, just jump out of, well, you thought you're home, yes, but the federal hall comes in and start shooting at them. [SPEAKER_00]: Then yeah, a bunch of [SPEAKER_00]: Ultraman's deployed down and Calgard just steps off the ramp and lands. [SPEAKER_00]: It just walks towards Titus while shooting, like not even looking. [SPEAKER_00]: And his vitric scarter slashing things down and walks up the Titus and goes, you have information for me out here. [SPEAKER_00]: So what's going on today? [SPEAKER_01]: He put on the, he definitely pushed the extra pumps on the boots and by the asking because Caligar is just windmill kicking people. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's awesome. [SPEAKER_00]: And they then, I'll be, rather the troops go after him, Imaro just gets cornered and he tries to flee into the immaturian with Project Aurora, in which case Caligar, Titus, [SPEAKER_01]: They roll it to a cast portal with absolutely no thought, just like I got this yellow swag and it's they end up dueling a Lord of change and Amara in the battle in the game It's very very cool don't get me wrong, but this if you were reading this and you know Lord you a child This was yeah, but it's such an epic battle though. [SPEAKER_00]: It's cool. [SPEAKER_00]: It's cool, but you would I roll so you're fighting a Lord of change in the warp. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you drag-o? [SPEAKER_00]: I'm man. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly. [SPEAKER_00]: Dragon. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So I guess maybe it's no. [SPEAKER_00]: Dragon didn't do it. [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they can do it too. [SPEAKER_00]: But I know that eventually, while Mora is fighting and all this stuff's going on, Titus flips the thing back from blow to suck and evaporates all the work power from him, destroying him. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, banishing him permanently. [SPEAKER_00]: So he's one of the, it's a true death for him. [SPEAKER_00]: They get back on the ship and Titus is confronted by the chaplain again. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I know I'm not letting you make even half what this dude is. [SPEAKER_01]: In the game, he comes up and he doesn't say this, but this is what I got, which he's like, I knew you were good all along, man, and you were gonna do good stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, put the chaplain in the airlock and fire him out. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, the chaplain takes his helmet off. [SPEAKER_00]: It turns out it's Leandro's. [SPEAKER_00]: But he does warn him that if he faulted it, he believes he is redeemed. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus has redeemed himself, but he faulted towards chaos. [SPEAKER_00]: Leandro's will still kill him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, let's get, so there's a bit more about this game if you play the multiplayer with a flesh and a bit more of the backstory. [SPEAKER_01]: But I, I kept saying that I don't like it, I hate it as much as Lee Andrews from the first, but I didn't want to say anything to him now because we did make it a little spoiler for ourselves. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: But he's still sucks. [SPEAKER_01]: That's why I was so mad about him. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the reason this sucks is that Titus called Leandro's a failed ultramarine for his inability to distinguish between reality and the codex. [SPEAKER_00]: And now Leandro's is permit promoted to a position of authority where he tells the ultramarines how to interpret the codex. [SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, but let's jump on to secret level. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you haven't seen the secret level, it's 19 minutes of your life, most of it's actually adds. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, like, Santa 12 minutes. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just go watch it. [SPEAKER_00]: We'll wait. [SPEAKER_00]: But in it. [SPEAKER_00]: And message comes in, the squad is made up of Titus Metaris, who's a blade guard that who actually we realize later recruited Titus as a boy. [SPEAKER_00]: It carous in Levanton who have no purpose me giving their names out because they're present. [SPEAKER_00]: They do cool stuff, but that's the extent of what you need to talk about their name. [SPEAKER_01]: And then they show up and they realize they're all wearing red shirts, but continue. [SPEAKER_00]: So they're sent to destroy a chaos shrine on the world of, oh, Zashu? [SPEAKER_00]: Zashu? [SPEAKER_00]: Zazhu. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, I'm not even chatting to help you with that. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a, it's projected as a suicide mission. [SPEAKER_00]: So bad. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they're trying to basically get the shield down so they can bomb this place in the first place. [SPEAKER_00]: Look, they didn't figure where it is. [SPEAKER_00]: Those are the shield that they didn't know where it was. [SPEAKER_00]: There you go. [SPEAKER_00]: It's both. [SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be fun to find it. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is just absolute badassery. [SPEAKER_00]: You've got epic fight scenes that the four of them make the way to the shrine. [SPEAKER_00]: You need to watch it. [SPEAKER_00]: It is a very good representation of what a space marine versus regular humans looks like. [SPEAKER_00]: It is unpleasant and it's cool as hell. [SPEAKER_00]: But the whole thing with this, a couple of little cool elements to it that they will don't realize and they watch it. [SPEAKER_00]: He's dragging this sarcophagus with him. [SPEAKER_00]: And as they, it's hard to see, it's hard to see, it's dragging along. [SPEAKER_00]: And you don't really know why, but he keeps dragging it. [SPEAKER_00]: So whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: When they get, let's back up a little bit because I do want to say, we can't we give a couple of the awesome things that happen. [SPEAKER_00]: We have to fight. [SPEAKER_00]: It's 12 minutes in life. [SPEAKER_00]: They can go watch. [SPEAKER_00]: It's what, let me, let me lie. [SPEAKER_00]: Brad, I love you to death, man. [SPEAKER_00]: But you will not do as good of a job as a visuals. [SPEAKER_00]: Actually, we'll just do. [SPEAKER_00]: Challenge accepted. [SPEAKER_00]: I think we both know you're going to go it's really epic. [SPEAKER_00]: This guy kills a dude with an ax. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, just go watch it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's insane. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so cool. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so cool. [SPEAKER_01]: He just ignores the bike. [SPEAKER_00]: I know, but I might get fans. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it'd be like me trying to explain like, oh, here's the end of Star Wars. [SPEAKER_00]: So what happens? [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that sounds lame. [SPEAKER_00]: No, if you watch it, I would be awesome at it as someone who maybe better. [SPEAKER_00]: There's 170 hours in the listening to you. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, so they get to the statue of Zinge and we figure out what's in the casket So he pulls out and it's like Imperial psych or pops out because eyes are covered up And it's a killer field. [SPEAKER_00]: So this is one of my favorite things in the game is that we talk about Geller fields. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I've got a killer field people like oh, so it's like a machine you have to keep demons out [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, sort of, yeah, kind of, but it's also a human being that powers it. [SPEAKER_00]: Does that human be getting to walk around and do stuff? [SPEAKER_00]: No, we lock it in a casket forever. [SPEAKER_01]: He's in a box. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but in the back, also, but remember, [SPEAKER_01]: 40K, everything in 40K is a nightmare. [SPEAKER_01]: And this guy is actually in charge of defending people from the nightmare, yeah, by being his own nightmare. [SPEAKER_00]: For every nightmare. [SPEAKER_00]: He's an imprisoned human psycher. [SPEAKER_00]: And when he pops, that he creates a force field. [SPEAKER_00]: So that way, when they start shooting at the giant statue to try and do damage to it, they can then put a beacon to bring in the strike, that statue doesn't just warp them out of existence. [SPEAKER_00]: The problem is that there's a mutant sorceress, that's what that thing is who've seen it, but the mutant sorcerer. [SPEAKER_00]: And that is hiding in the statue and goes, well, this is an ideal, and jumps down, because the thing about a geiler field is it does a good job of keeping psychic powers out, but does a terrible job of keeping things out. [SPEAKER_00]: And the mutant sorcerer just kind of throws a knife at the guy, and so he dies. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, without the Gellerfield around them, the space marines are, unfortunately, they're no longer immune to the powers of the warp. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, three out of the four arcs. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's not completely immune. [SPEAKER_01]: However, it's cool because in the game the effectively he's casting warp time. [SPEAKER_01]: He's slowing down time, stopping it, and then he's mentally assaulting, which I love in the show how they do this because in the game it was always, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: Actually assaults your soul mentally assaults you know, I mean, let's call it that was they stole this completely from Nightmare and demonstrate because Don't make it less cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_00]: That's what that's what this is. [SPEAKER_00]: So the Psycho goes into them and then freezes them and goes into their brain and in their brain makes them see their worst fear and then manifests that fear in reality. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what Robert Engling did, who is not dead. [SPEAKER_00]: I had to look it up by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: He's not dead. [SPEAKER_00]: They could have used him for this. [SPEAKER_00]: It would have been cooler. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all I'm saying. [SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to rip off that mirror on it on street, I don't care about anyone involved with that franchise except Robert England. [SPEAKER_00]: He's a treasure. [SPEAKER_00]: So they should have allowed him to come in there or at least put a weird sweater on the mutant siker. [SPEAKER_00]: Whatever. [SPEAKER_00]: But mutes are kills Icarus, then Levanton, it turns them ataris. [SPEAKER_00]: And actually, when he shows, or she, what it shows, the Taurus, is a vision of Titus turning trader. [SPEAKER_00]: It's where Titus, because Titus, we see Titus, he's in a chaos outfit, basically. [SPEAKER_00]: in that tightest stabs, but terrace, which then manifests in real space. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why if you see that tightest doesn't actually stab him, it's in his mind, he stabs him again. [SPEAKER_00]: Just watch Nightmare on the Long Street. [SPEAKER_00]: That's all makes complete sense, who you've seen at Nightmare on the Long Street. [SPEAKER_00]: Because again, [SPEAKER_00]: Why are there words that realize I also have like they write these things like somehow I haven't seen the movie if you're gonna do it pick a movie like no one's seen But not like hey, remember that I'm straight. [SPEAKER_00]: I go it. [SPEAKER_01]: What if we rip that all their part though? [SPEAKER_01]: Because you find out and you realize that he tried to show Titus is greatest fear which is [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, I forgot to have any. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't have any and he proceeds to put a pummeling on him. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, tightest just doesn't have fear. [SPEAKER_00]: That's the thing, but it's nothing to exploit and tightest. [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't feel pity. [SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't feel remorse or fear. [SPEAKER_01]: He will, he will not stop until you're dead. [SPEAKER_00]: just quoting the terminator because I'm much more like GW. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I've also seen that movie if you want to rip that one off. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Necrons. [SPEAKER_00]: So says why can't the extent of an army of darkness? [SPEAKER_00]: Like that was just I've just say the keep stealing from like all these movies. [SPEAKER_00]: Just give me one one army. [SPEAKER_00]: Just want to remember me and that just says give me some sugar bank. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're just good, bad on the guy with a gun. [SPEAKER_00]: That's an easy one that could fit into this anywhere, but they keep going with alien terminators. [SPEAKER_00]: So, anyway, Titus lays that the sorcerer and turns back to Materus. [SPEAKER_00]: Materus, you know, it's a suicide mission. [SPEAKER_00]: This is it, they're dying. [SPEAKER_00]: So, he calls in the Orbil strike. [SPEAKER_00]: And when he calls in the Orbil strike, the response he gets back from the Orbil is die well, brothers. [SPEAKER_00]: Materus is like, look, I'm 400 years old. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm happy to die. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus is kind of like, yeah, I'm just not done yet. [SPEAKER_00]: So he picks up Materus and carries him away from the blast zone. [SPEAKER_00]: They don't show that, which is kind of like, but he starts murdering, all this by later. [SPEAKER_00]: It's a that's the part of I see you're jumping ahead. [SPEAKER_00]: I want to talk about this whole thing So he calls in an orbital strike and the period time it takes a little bit to launch Tastes up a pickup, materous and leave or Beto strike How far did Titus run with another space Marine on his back and how fast did he run? [SPEAKER_01]: Just get a good 40. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just run that out there. [SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm more than a 40. [SPEAKER_00]: This is like, you know, can you in marathon? [SPEAKER_00]: All right, but [SPEAKER_00]: While they're sitting at a Brad's point, but he puts Matteras down, and the cultists are coming in tight as she goes, I'm gonna go kill these guys, so someone picks us up, and that's exactly what happens. [SPEAKER_00]: Could you know, just, yeah, so much, hundreds, thousands, and just I'll just, I have a combat knife, we're gonna just go do this for a while. [SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_00]: That gets us to kind of basically modern Titus. [SPEAKER_00]: And we did get another update recently. [SPEAKER_00]: Titus has now been promoted to a captain. [SPEAKER_00]: He's back at the second company, but there's a backstory there. [SPEAKER_00]: So I do want to cover some of that backstory at the very end of this. [SPEAKER_00]: Timeline-wise, GW did a good job. [SPEAKER_00]: We did not do the Marvel timeline well. [SPEAKER_00]: And this reality is this, I hate that. [SPEAKER_00]: I get them to have a choice, but I hate it. [SPEAKER_00]: So, Titus disappeared due to being incarcerated by Thrax, then the second company was without leader. [SPEAKER_00]: So, then CalGar made Keta Secarius, and we covered Secarius on an Ultramarine's cast, which you should listen to, because an Ultramarine's cast, and you should always listen to it, and it involves the Ultramarines, because the Keto is super badass. [SPEAKER_00]: He's the Sigusman of the Ultramarines, he leads from the front, and he leads from the [SPEAKER_00]: But he has a little bit of a history of overly charging forward, and sometimes, you know, he's always victorious, but there's some questions about you. [SPEAKER_00]: We have to lose that many people, single small blemishes, but. [SPEAKER_00]: He eventually achieves titles like the valor crest and the champion of McRag, which is a super righteous title, by the way. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and a huge pain in the ass to paint. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be honest, like valor crest, you put a valor crest on a model. [SPEAKER_00]: That means congratulations. [SPEAKER_00]: You'd better be a at least an A minus level painter because that I hate painting crests. [SPEAKER_00]: There's never had a problem because you never painted one. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I didn't say that I did. [SPEAKER_01]: I've just said I've never [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, why can't, if you want to, if you want me to put the model in my army, instead of a valor crest, just have a valor paint this with lead belcher and then known oil and call it a day. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what you'd crest, that's what it should be called. [SPEAKER_00]: Leadbelcher, known oil crest. [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't be happy with that, but he also is the champion of the Craig, which is a bit more badass. [SPEAKER_00]: Because what that means is anytime the honor of the ultramus is challenged, he steps forward to defend it, and the stories around Kato are brutal. [SPEAKER_00]: He and his retinue, that still hate that word. [SPEAKER_00]: We're traveling back to Ultramar and got lost in the warp. [SPEAKER_00]: And the last note that they put out was they have breached the hole they are here. [SPEAKER_00]: after that nothing. [SPEAKER_00]: So Sikaris is declared dead. [SPEAKER_00]: If you want this nor ultramarine cast, we can talk more about how he was very much so not dead and he fought his way back and he's now back in the galaxy, but he's leading Gilliman's vitric scarred. [SPEAKER_00]: So it's just a boss mode. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, it's the ultimate position of like power and authority in respect within everyone was going to die through the rules. [SPEAKER_00]: But while Sikaris has lost to the warp, a new cap, the second company had you promoted. [SPEAKER_00]: And this is Akaron from the game. [SPEAKER_00]: Karan has no lore outside of the game and a paragraph that was added later. [SPEAKER_00]: So he is later credited as being all over the place with the second company, plague wars, pariah nexus, vigilists, and of course fourth-teranic war, but he just died. [SPEAKER_00]: He died because there was a genes that are called invasion on the infected world of trig. [SPEAKER_00]: And he got there and discovered that it's a cool story because what happens is a survey vessel and some Morty and guards were near the planet and it got destroyed because obviously the geese like I didn't want to get downed out. [SPEAKER_00]: So Cairon and Icaron, because we have to kill Cairon off too, both get sent to lead an attack on the world, which is just all geese. [SPEAKER_00]: I was just saying it's all [SPEAKER_00]: and they discover how massive this is, and acaron, and all of the ultramate is going to the highs and lock the highs down. [SPEAKER_00]: So no one can get in or out of them and then just spend a bunch of time killing as many of them as they can until they all died. [SPEAKER_00]: Later, reinforcements arrive and they're able to basically mop off what's left because the damage, alcohol, and Kyron did. [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it was just a two of them, so the second company was there. [SPEAKER_00]: And they clear up. [SPEAKER_00]: But now again, the second company has a vacancy. [SPEAKER_00]: In this time, it's Gilliman, who promotes Titus to cap in the second company. [SPEAKER_01]: Hold up this, because Gilliman's like, hey, man, welcome back, you're captain, you're back to the captain of the second company. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, as he side note, I've got a small task I want you to do. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, he gives him, he takes him to, hey, here's your promotion. [SPEAKER_00]: So you get the extra paint on your armor. [SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm going to take your armor. [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just going to coat it the way I used no oil. [SPEAKER_00]: But this time it's going to be plot armor. [SPEAKER_00]: because it is all you're going to need it all of this stuff here you go it's it I mean not and I'm not talking like a nice little brushing of it he got dunked in it and then pulled out like all right like I kill he's fallen ball I'll be more killy style but his mother realized but just didn't twice that way it covers everywhere [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he, he, Gilliman has tied this to fortify the Borders or Ultramar, which is known as the 500 worlds. [SPEAKER_01]: And the 500 worlds haven't been great. [SPEAKER_01]: So he has, he's like, hey, man, do this. [SPEAKER_01]: Also, I need this done by, like, next Tuesday because I kind of want to spring from here on the next part of the Crusade to reach [SPEAKER_00]: take the challenge what this whole plan is that Gilman is back in the galaxy he's taken control of the imperium basically and realized that he needs a force to help him go out in the galaxy looked around and said well there's only one force that's actually capable of doing but I need him to do that's the ultramarines so he then so he fully invests in the ultramarines [SPEAKER_00]: And it tells Titus your job is to make it so Ultramar is the best, which it already was. [SPEAKER_00]: But find the betterest of the best part of the galaxy, because I'm going to use this to want you campaign to go fix the galaxy, basically. [SPEAKER_01]: This is the Herkulean, you know, kind of her effort, he's screwing down. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to close this out, like, hey, man. [SPEAKER_00]: figure it out, you know, he's an ultrimer in the course of figure it out. [SPEAKER_00]: God, like can't you figure this isn't he's not a salamander, you know, Jesus, I wish I could hate for this. [SPEAKER_00]: I wouldn't make fun of Spacel players because there was really, yeah, Spacel was actually that good at that stuff. [SPEAKER_00]: He's like, was it something that was done personally to the Spacel? [SPEAKER_00]: In which case they're amazing? [SPEAKER_00]: It's done to somebody else. [SPEAKER_00]: Was they honorable? [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe we're involved, but otherwise, [SPEAKER_00]: So what we're getting into with the 500 rolls is going to be the close of 10th edition. [SPEAKER_00]: And then we'll get to know that this is what we're going to launch into. [SPEAKER_00]: What we know about the 500 worlds is that the net crowns are going to be part of it. [SPEAKER_00]: Again, very heavy ultramarines were already starting to get new detachments, new rules. [SPEAKER_00]: So the big question for all of us is, are they going to ruin the end of 10th edition the way they would end of it? [SPEAKER_00]: That's what, I mean, those have us been playing long enough. [SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly what happened. [SPEAKER_00]: And the eighth, we got second awakening at the end of eighth edition. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the end of second awakening, we were all really ready for ninth edition because it was unplayable. [SPEAKER_00]: So... [SPEAKER_00]: your move, GW, your move. [SPEAKER_00]: We will be covering the 500 rows in depth, obviously, because both it's interesting and involved with all chemerines. [SPEAKER_00]: So, but we're gonna stop here until those books come out and we've read them and digest them and have a cast on it. [SPEAKER_00]: Next week, we're stepping back a bit in time to four, four, four of them, 41, and the sighting of a chaos, premark, Armageddon. [SPEAKER_00]: 1.0, not 2.0, or 3.0, or 0.0, or negative 1.0, whatever, this is going to be fun. [SPEAKER_00]: This battle is super cool. [SPEAKER_00]: So with that, John Barsotti, Brad Chester, this guy. [SPEAKER_00]: See you all next week.
