All right, I'm going to Jamar Chase. Did you see spit or no? 00:01:07 Speaker 3: Yes? I did anyway spit. Yeah. 00:01:10 Speaker 1: I sent the link to Danny G the moment I thought I saw a spit. I believe that Jamar Chase did spit on Jalen Ramsey. Is it the worst this ever? We might get to that later this hour, So I'll start thinking, did. 00:01:23 Speaker 2: Our video guy spot break it down like the Zeebruder film, like like frame by frame like Keith Hernandez and the and the Sein film. I mean, dude, look, you don't know what's credible and what's ai in today's world. But if you watched the ES ESPN link Danny G then I sent you over the weekend, you clearly see him spitting. 00:01:43 Speaker 1: So I don't know how there's any debate about it. He's just lying and cover his ass. But is that the most gruesome of all disrespectful things. 00:01:51 Speaker 3: You could do? 00:01:52 Speaker 2: Uh? 00:01:52 Speaker 3: We'll get to that later. 00:01:54 Speaker 1: Plus I want to talk to some Jake Paul and more because it seems like the fight is official. Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua. We'll explain, But any final things about things that made you go, hm, you know, I was talking to Danny g Off the air Rich We were talking about how, you know, what was the Dolphins doing in that situation? Even though they won, right, they could have went for a field goal, they made it more difficult for themselves. Danny g is saying that, you know, there's a lot of hype about them possibly going on a run and still making the playoffs with this momentum. And are there any other like sort of four win teams that you could see doing that. 00:02:26 Speaker 4: There's like one or two sports personalities out there that are having hot takes of the Dolphins are going to run the table the rest of the way and make the playoffs. It would be incredible, But they did keep their slim playoff hopes alive heading into the buy. 00:02:39 Speaker 2: Who told you, Mike McDaniel, do you have a contestant ready, Danny g for Last one Stanley Road. 00:02:44 Speaker 4: We have a board of contestants that buyer is going to choose. Real all right, I want to play. 00:02:49 Speaker 3: Let's do this. 00:02:49 Speaker 2: It's our favorite game we do every Monday here on FSR. 00:02:52 Speaker 5: Hit It. 00:02:53 Speaker 6: You have five seconds to battle for your sports trivia lot man. Put your electronic devices down and pick your sports knowledge. It's CNRS Last one standing. 00:03:11 Speaker 3: Last one standing. 00:03:13 Speaker 4: All right, we are early with this game on a Monday this week. I have four categories ready to go if needed a tiebreaker. Each contestant gets five seconds to stay alive in the round. If you run out of time or you answer incorrectly, Iowa Sam takes you out with his big bad buzzer. You don't want to hear that. We keep battling until you are the last one standing. If you win two of the rounds, you are the top dog. Here are the contestants. Eleven time winner Steve Cavino right over there. Oh in Texas. Fifteen time winner Rich Davis, I mean sixteen, might as well say it after today. Come on, he's confident enough though, to beat thirty six time winner Dan Byer. Dan team to play. Gonna go to the studio line see who's playing for a CNR nerve football? Idb use you for this? Would you love to travel to beautiful Phoenix, Arizona, South Bend, Indiana, Corpus Christi, Texas or Lansing, Michigan. 00:04:09 Speaker 5: The guys are just in Phoenix. Let's keep the vibe going. Is Eddie Piero of the Nines? 00:06:38 Speaker 7: He has six? 00:06:40 Speaker 3: Yeah? I thought it was gonna be way higher. 00:06:42 Speaker 7: Some of the other kickers and teams spotty? 00:06:45 Speaker 3: Uh oh, let's see Bears had three Commanders four, Seahawks five. 00:06:54 Speaker 7: Seven. 00:06:55 Speaker 5: By the way, the Commanders let go of Matt Gay today missed two kicks in Spain, so they let him, Jake Movie. 00:07:02 Speaker 2: And dB Pinero is hurt for the Niners, so they might be looking for a new kicker as well. 00:07:06 Speaker 7: Yeah, that Titans kicker has been busy this season. 00:07:09 Speaker 3: Vikings six. 00:07:10 Speaker 4: All right, so buyer on the board. As we go to the third category, the pig skin calculator, you have five seconds to name. 00:09:00 Speaker 7: Call me. 00:09:01 Speaker 4: You have five seconds to name an NFL team who leads to the league in turnover differential this season? Okay, that's subtracting the total number of giveaways, interceptions and fumbles lost from the total number of takeaways, interceptions and opponent fumbles recovered. Got it? Sixteen on the boarder, we'll take the top sixteen Pigskin Calculator. Covino, you're gonna be at first starting right now. 00:09:23 Speaker 3: Go, let's go Steelers. Steelers are on the list with eight. Rich, give me the question one more time. Okay, turnover differential this season? 00:09:34 Speaker 7: Who leads? 00:09:34 Speaker 3: Okay? That is that is Rich Davis's sixteenth win. 00:10:37 Speaker 3: Dude, you're lucky number. 00:10:39 Speaker 7: Yeah, I didn't. I feel like he uh he, he came showed up one. He sort of got his rocks off in the left. You know, he didn't even like hang around and cuddle or anything. 00:14:38 Speaker 4: Yeah, he's like literally rode off into the sunset with his cowboy boots there. 00:14:42 Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to take his victory away, like he just won and bounced like. 00:14:47 Speaker 3: What a sound of him running riding away into the sunset. 00:14:53 Speaker 5: And he did it with zero cheating today. Yes, I mean like that's I mean, that's man, that's amazing. 00:14:59 Speaker 1: Well, over the weekend, we had a blast. We were in Arizona. We had a good time. Then he dipped off back to Austin. He had some other stuff to do, and I told him we'd save the fight talk for the second hour because I'm not sure if Rich really cares that much. I know he'll watch, he'll watch, but does he care? 00:15:15 Speaker 7: Do you care? 00:15:16 Speaker 3: Is the question? 00:15:16 Speaker 1: Because it seems like it's official, like Danielle official. You guys know who daniel official is. Yeah, oh yoh yeah, And it's official. Apparently. I'll believe it when I see it. But they're saying it's happening. From the Zone to MVP promotions to Netflix, everybody's saying it's happening. 00:15:36 Speaker 3: It's official. 00:15:37 Speaker 1: Jake Paul, we'll face Anthony Joshua in a pro heavyweight fight on December nineteenth in Miami. So wow, you could hate on him all you want. When you really think about what he's doing, it's sort of wild, Like you need Kojones of steel to get in the ring with a former heavyweight champ, but not just any champ. A guy who like sort of owns the fight circuit overseas, like they were begging for a Fury Joshua fight, a guy that sort of took back the heavyweight division, a guy that beat a klitch. 00:16:11 Speaker 2: Go. 00:16:11 Speaker 3: You know, we're talking to. 00:16:12 Speaker 1: A mastadon that stands six foot six, two hundred and fifty three pounds. Is he passed his prime? Jake Paul wants you to know that he's in his prime, But Anthony Joshua sort of has some battle wounds, some wear and tear. He isn't necessarily in his prime, but he's not retired by any means. Do I think he's gonna beat Jake Paul? I do, and I'll tell you why. Eight seven, seven ninety nine one Fox. That's the number. I want you to chime in because it looks like it's happening. 00:16:42 Speaker 3: Guys. 00:16:43 Speaker 1: As of today, it's official. We talked about it, I believe on Thursday Friday last week, like, oh whoa, we're here in rumors today Official twelve nineteen in Miami. Here's why I'm impressed. Let's start with the positives. Jake Paul, say what you want, think what you want. The dude brings a crowd. He provides for a lot of fun nights for people. It brings people together. Fight night, yo, bro, who's coming over. We're having a party. That's fun. I'm not going to complain about that. Does it take away from legitimate fights? I mean, he's trying to be legitimate, but look what he's doing. He's going from Gervonte Davis. And by the way, that fight's not happening and it's not his fault, so we can't hate on him there, right, Gervonte got in some some uh, some trouble. Let's just say that some legal some legal issues issues. Travonte Davis though, five foot five, one hundred and thirty four five foot five, one thirty five, So people were saying, oh man, why is he fighting such a little a small fry. Why doesn't he pick on some of his own size? This is a weird fight, but it made for an interesting fight, but it did sound stupid, right, but that fight's gone, Jake Paul says. He says a way to be like, Yo, we support women. Screw that dude, you know, we'll figure something out. And he doesn't just pick any random heavywe he picks a heavyweight who's still in the mix, a guy that people still talk about, a big name, Like, really, I understand you might not, he might not be a household name, but in the world of fighting, especially overseas, a really big name. Anthony Joshua six foot six, two fifty three. So did I make that clear? He's going from a five foot five, one thirty five, which he was training for. Now he has to, you know, full on train for a guy who's over a foot taller and weighs over one hundred pounds more. That's not easy to do. That's unprecedented. Who's ever done that before? Who's trained for a guy that was a foot smaller and one hundred pounds less? And now he's training for a fighter and a fight that's bigger than him. So Joshua six foot six and he's ripped. Like, if you don't know who Anthony Joshua is, he looks like a movie star, like he looks like a guy that Rocky would fight. He looks like a Vander Holyfield in his maybe not his cut. He's that Olympic level sort of fighter, great shape, impressive. 00:19:04 Speaker 7: He also has slurred speech like Rocky. 00:19:06 Speaker 1: Well, Anthony Joshua, let's put it in perspective. People are saying, you know, Jake Paul, how could you take this fight? And he's like, you mean Anthony Joshua. Yeah, he's still in it, but you mean it. Stiff punch drunk Anthony Joshua, Anthony Joshua. In his last few fights, he lost two fights to Alexander Usik in twenty twenty one. In twenty twenty two, then he won three or four more fights. He beaten Ghanu like convincingly, but then he lost again in twenty twenty four. I remember and Ghanu not a real boxer. But Daniel Dubos sort of whooped his ass, knocked him out in his last fight in the fifth round. So he was knocked out by Daniel Dubas in twenty twenty four in England. And we've seen him sort of rattled and off his rocker, and like you said, Danny g just saying a little too much, grabbing the mic, a little punch drunk. 00:20:00 Speaker 3: Anthony Joshua is not the same guy that he. 00:20:02 Speaker 1: Was, so Jake Paul is seeing this as a vulnerable opportunity. And Jake Paul's great at sherry picking those guys that he thinks he could beat. But let's put it in perspective once again. The biggest guy that I know that Jake Paul fought is Tommy Fury, because that was a full on guy his size, and Tommy Fury was only six foot point eight five. That's the brother of Tyson Fury, and Tommy Fury is no threat in the heavyweight division. 00:20:31 Speaker 3: And guess what, Tommy beat Jake Paul. 00:20:34 Speaker 1: So, just like styles make fights and we see it in the NFL, just because this team beat that team doesn't mean that team will beat this team. Same thing does apply in boxing, right, That's where we get this from. Styles make fights. Just because Tommy Fury beat Jake Paul doesn't necessarily mean that Jake Paul will lose Anthony Joshua. But I'm pretty certain he will. I don't think think he's gonna go from losing Jake Paul lost. I don't think he's gonna go from losing to Tommy Tommy Fury, who's essentially sort of a no name in the heavyweight division in boxing. For the most part, was he was a reality star who fought and had a fighting name, and I wish him the best, but he's not like a great boxer. So if he lost to Tommy Fury, who's significantly smaller than Anthony Joshua, you you mean to tell me, you mean to tell me that Jake Paul as ferocious and as heavy punching as he is and as as he has a set of weave woves made him steel, like we said, is gonna beat even if he's punched drunk. And Anthony Joshua, who's six foot six, two fifty three and who has battled the biggest heavyweights in the game. Dude, he's fought everybody that's available. Like I said, he shared the rounds. He shared the ring with Klitchkohs. The only guy he didn't fight really for the most part was Tyson Fury. That was the dream fight could still happen when he wins. Do you think Jake Paul has a shot? Guys, we've doubted him before and he's come through. He's impressive, but you think he's gonna be a goal a former gold medal, former heavyweight champion in Anthony Joshua. I have to give that a resounding Rocky Balboa. Absolutely, No, not happening. It's not happening. And then here's the silver lining. He proved to everybody that he's not scared to take a punch. He's not scared to get in there with a heavyweight, bona fide heavyweight, former champ. He's not scared to trade punches with a guy like that. And if he shows up, it's a moral victory for Jake Paul. 00:22:41 Speaker 3: So even if he. 00:22:42 Speaker 1: Loses, he still wins. So he's willing to take that fight, and it's a payday for Joshua. Can't blame him for taking it. Is it beneath him the payday? Isn't I'm surprised that it's not happening in England. It's happening in Miami. So again your thoughts, it's official as of today. Is this a classic case of Anthony Joshua being punch drunk, being vulnerable past his prime and Jake Paul seeing that and thinking he could capitalize or is this Jake Paul biting off a little more than he could chew and maybe he cherry picked a little too hard. 00:23:19 Speaker 5: Isn't this isn't this how the cycle was going to go? Like at some point, like Jake Paul just couldn't fight a bunch of Rando's is not the word, but you know what I mean, Well, it was he. 00:23:32 Speaker 1: Was bouncing around from you know, the Nate Diaz is of all the smaller boxers to who else did he fight? Mike Mike Perry? He fought, Yeah, he fought a bunch of it is Rando's Julios sar Chivins Junior, you know, was the last fight that he won. 00:23:46 Speaker 7: Like, isn't this like this? 00:23:47 Speaker 5: It had to go at this point because otherwise you're not getting any value for what you're presenting. So if he loses, and I've and I've always felt that the Jake Paul is watching him hopefully get his face beat in, I think he understands that as well. Yeah, right, like in that angle of it. But if he's not, if it's not happening against certain Randos, or or even if it is, there isn't the true nature of it, like it was always going to come to this point. So whether it's Anthony, Joshua or someone else, someone had to at least fight Jake Paul because otherwise there doesn't seem to be much of a reason on why Jake Paul was doing what he was doing. 00:24:31 Speaker 1: Well, the thing is here, here's my surprise, and I completely agree with everything dan Meyer said. Right, this was bound to happen. I thought we'd get like a more of a cruiserweight name, more of a Canelo level fight. Not even Canelo, but of that weight class. Uh, you know, one sixty eight one to seventy five pound fighter. He went straight to Hey, he went from one thirty five. Oh, by the way, here's a little caveat that I'm reading. By the way, let me give the proper source here. Here's the surprise that he went from a smaller fighter and smaller fighters to a full on bona fide heavyweight. 00:25:05 Speaker 3: I'm reading here that there is some. 00:25:09 Speaker 1: Sort of weight clause where Joshua can't weigh more than two forty five. 00:25:17 Speaker 3: So that's a. 00:25:17 Speaker 7: Little My wife gave me that weight clause. 00:25:20 Speaker 1: Also, Danny g you got to abide by that or you can you can't participate, and that would be his lowest. 00:25:28 Speaker 7: Just fifty pounds away. 00:25:29 Speaker 1: That would be his lowest since the USK loss in twenty twenty two. So now you're putting a bit of a weight clause because I think Anthony Joshua walks. 00:25:37 Speaker 3: Around at two fifty five ish or whatever. 00:25:39 Speaker 1: So he hasked the weigh below two forty five because you know Jake Paul's one ninety, you know, two twenty at the most in between that range. But I want to take a look at the last four fights just to prove what Dan Byer was saying is true. His last four fights, he fought Ryan Borland TKO, Mike Perry TKO exactly, and then he fought Mike tythe in there he remembers that was that even a fight we don't even know. That was an eight round unanimous decision. And then he fought most recently in June julios A Sarchavs Junior, and that is sort of a weird fight, you know, again, very odd, very random, unanim's decision victory. Anthony Joshua has fought real solid heavyweight contenders. He fought uh Sick twice and lost, but he fought Usick, he fought Daniel Do want that guy's no joke, right. So he's in the ring with sharp and heavy punching heavyweights to him. If he loses to Jake Paul, that's a joke. If he loses to Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua retires, that's the end. So I think when you have that much on the line and you came with that sort of stature and that pedigree of a Golden medal winner heavyweight champion, you know, he was like the pride of Britain for years. There's no way in the world this guy loses. And that's that's my take on it. 00:27:04 Speaker 3: That's it. 00:27:04 Speaker 4: Do you think that Jake Paul could get hurt? One of the headlines you don't play boxing, right yo. One of the headlines this morning Boxing Legend warns Jake Paul could get killed in Anthony Joshua fight. Boxing icon Amer Khan has weighed in on the upcoming fight. He says that he wants to give Jake Paul warning that this could turn into a dangerous mismatch, and then he talks about how he thinks it could be bad. 00:27:31 Speaker 7: That's why Paul's health. 00:27:32 Speaker 1: To go back to what dB was saying before, that's why I'm surprised that he's willing to get in a ring with a guy this strong and this big. I thought he would have at least climbed the ladder a little more and pun of guy like like a Mere Cohn or something. 00:27:44 Speaker 5: Yeah, but this is this is you know, let's walk the tight rope across the Grand Canyon. You know the best of tight ropers say, don't do it, you could die. 00:27:54 Speaker 7: That's what that like? 00:27:55 Speaker 5: That like comment that that feeds into this of the reason on why then you would buy them fight and watch the fight. And I'm not saying that people are subscribing and trying to pay up the money for faces of death. 00:28:06 Speaker 7: Or or whatever. 00:28:08 Speaker 5: But when you have people and fellow boxers making those comments, I don't take that as like analysis. I take that, well, that's a way to try to get people to watch this thing to think that there is some sort of danger in it, when really, to your point about the Mike Tyson fight, I don't think that. I don't think that there is. I don't think that that's what this is. I don't think that's what the whole Jake Paul thing is. That Jake Paul didn't get into this to die in the ring, and so like to me, like I hear something like that, like that just adds to the hype of why you would want to buy it, but never really was a part of it at all. Like that, Jake Paul's not going to die in this fight. He's not going to get hit, He's not going to die in this fight. That's not what's going to. 00:28:54 Speaker 1: Feel you're saying a little bit though, Dan and I agree with everything you're saying, but it feels like you're saying that it could be not fixed. Yeah, it's exactly what I'm It's a wink wink sort of deal right where it's a show. We're all getting paid, we're putting on a show, but who wins that show? 00:29:08 Speaker 7: The whole thing is a show. All of it's been a show. 00:29:11 Speaker 3: Yeah, I hate that though. 00:29:12 Speaker 1: You know, you might be right, and there's a lot of people that feel that way, and I'm glad. That's why I'm glad you brought it up. But there's a part of me that's that doesn't want to believe that. 00:29:22 Speaker 4: But this is Netflix. Does that make you feel any different? It makes me feel like it's more of a show because it's on. Yes, all right, yeah, but I mean that that's not con having to sell pay per views though, I mean, how many of us have Netflix? 00:29:38 Speaker 1: To me, that feels like there's con believing this is a legitimate and real fight. But there's always going to be the naysayers, and I can't say they're wrong. I can't say you're wrong, Dan Byer, because I don't know, you know, when there's that much money on the line, Hey, look, maybe there is an agreement, maybe there is an understanding. 00:29:55 Speaker 3: I hate that. 00:29:56 Speaker 1: I hate that being even a possibility, But of course it. 00:29:59 Speaker 5: Isdavid Blaine's gonna sit in an ice cube. We spoke with the guy who's lived in Antarctica and says that he's got max three hours? Can he last four days? Find out that's what it is? Find out December? 00:30:13 Speaker 3: What is it? 00:30:13 Speaker 1: December nineteenth in Miami on Netflix? 00:30:17 Speaker 7: Again? 00:30:18 Speaker 1: What are your thoughts? I don't think if this is a real fight, I like to believe that it is. Jake Paul has proven a lot. He's taken it serious. I give him all that credit, But if it is a real fight, I don't think he has a shot at all. If he looks decent against a guy like this, again, is still a good look at moral victory? 00:30:40 Speaker 5: Can I ask this because I'm not saying that the work that Jake Paul has done is a joke. I'm not trying to discredit any of that. But if he wanted to be a boxer, wouldn't he have gone up in the ranks of what normal boxers would do? 00:30:57 Speaker 1: Yeah, he was putting on shows. Yeah, what's the most intriguing plot? Yeah, most that's true. I mean it's a great point. He sort of did it his own way for that reason to sell tickets and to get pay per views or buys or deals with Netflix. So your thoughts on a eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox. We're gonna get to that. But uh, first and first mostly our guy who's hanging the great Dan Byer's got an update. 00:31:22 Speaker 5: My goodness, cove what today it's been. Let's start off in college football, where Virginia Tech has made it official They've hired former Penn Stated head coach James Franklin to be the hokies new head football coach. Takes over for Brent Prye, who has fired in September. Now, the Hokies host Miami coming up on Saturday, likely we'll see James Franklin be introduced in the final game of this season for Virginia Tech, but he is going to take over as the new at football coach at Virginia Tech starting next season. The Athletic reports that Ole miss is given at football coach Lan Kiff in a deadline of November twenty eighth to decide if you'll leave to take jobs at either Florida or LSU. The NFL ell suspended Bengals wide receiver Jamar Chase for one game after he spent on Steelers defensive bac Jalen Ramsey during yesterday's game. Chase will appeal that suspension. Week eleven ends tonight with the Cowboys and Raiders at eight fifteen Eastern time. Commanders today release kicker Matt Gay. On Thursday, it's the start of week twelve, the Bills will take on the Texans. Texans quarterbacks C J. Stroud remains in concussion protocol and didn't practice today. More Quarterbacking News. Falcons QB Michael Pennix Junior headed to YR after aggravating a bone bruise injury and his knee. ESPN says that there's also some damage to the acl and that Pennix isn't expected to play again this season. Atlanta won't to have Drake London against the Saints in Week twelve out with a knee injury. Packers head coach Matt Lafleur wouldn't rule out running back Josh Jacobs for the Week twelve matchup against the Vikings despite a knee injury, and the Athletics says the Jets will switch quarterbacks as Torod Taylor would start in Week twelve against the Ravens, with Justin Fields heading to the bench. Cleveland dot Com says the home of Browns quarterback Shutor Sanders was broken into on Sunday while he was making his debut against the Ravens. Spurs center Victor weben Yama's going to miss a few weeks of action because of a calf strain, John Moran's got a calf strain of the Grizzlies guard's going to miss two weeks because of it, and Lakers head coach Jj Reddick says it's to be determined on whether Lebron James will make his season debut tomorrow against the Jazz. After Lebron practice with the team today, go back to you. 00:33:17 Speaker 1: Thank you, Dan Byer. So lots of NBA to get to if we have time. We got to took Monday night football Cowboys Raiders and that Jamar Chase story dB Spin on Jalen Ramsey. He's gonna appeal the one game suspension? How do you appeal it when like you could see it like we're seeing it. I see, how do is? Is everybody not. 00:33:36 Speaker 3: Seeing what I'm seeing? I'm so confused by this. 00:33:38 Speaker 5: I know, four hundred and forty eight thousand dollars is what he would miss with a game check, plus another fifty eight thousand dollars for an active bonus, so he could be out five hundred thousand dollars. So maybe that's why he's trying to exhaust all of his opptions. 00:33:51 Speaker 1: But when Jamar Chase is saying, and it didn't happen, but everybody who sees the clip sees it happening, I mean, is he just sort of punching the just. 00:34:00 Speaker 4: Pull a Mike McDaniel when he was seen outside that Buffalo fan bar. 00:34:03 Speaker 1: Oh yeah, Ai, it never happened, Like we are you insulting my intelligence? But am I supposed to believe that it didn't happen when my eyes are seeing it right in front of me. I don't know what that even means. So maybe we'll talk more about that in the worst disrespects. But there's another story too about Abdual Carter of the Giants. We definitely got a hit on this too, Abdual Carter of the Giants and what he did. He's a top draft pick, but he made a big mistake. Put it that way. We got more Coveno minus Rich here on Fox Sports Radio, Life from the Fox Sports Radio Studio, Stick Around, ooh Oohoo, Covino and Rich minus Rich. It's Covino and Danny g the Super Producer and Dan Byer Dan Squared. And I always say I'm the coolest guy in all the land on the ones and twos. Spotty's on the videos again. Covino and Rich FSR on YouTube and please check got over Promised. 00:35:00 Speaker 3: I really love our bonus pod. 00:35:02 Speaker 1: It's all the stuff that we can't fit into this show because Rich talks so damn much over promise. He always over promises things we never get to. So we have a whole show for that that you could watch and be a part of. Over Promised. Episode one seventeen is available, Covino and Rich FSR. 00:35:17 Speaker 3: Hope you had a. 00:35:18 Speaker 1: Bills, Bears, Jaguars, Rams sort of weekend. Hope all your team's won, and hope you're excited for Monday night foosball. But speaking of football is a few stories, but this one I find to be interesting. Abdul Carter of the Giants, the New York Football Giants get this. Abdul Carter was bench for the Giants opening series Sunday because the rookie was asleep at the team facility and missed the recent walkthrough. A source told ESPN. I believe Athletic also recording on this too, and Carter didn't play during the opening defensive series and the Giants home loss to the Green Bay Packers. The linebacker took accountability after the game for the incident, which happened so nobody. 00:36:04 Speaker 4: He says he wasn't asleep. He says he was doing recovery. Nonetheless, that's on me. And then later he posted on x when the hate don't work, they start telling lies. 00:36:15 Speaker 1: The hate don't work. I've always said that they start telling lies. So I'm dual Carner's just a rookie, dude. The word is that he fell asleep. He's saying, nah. 00:36:24 Speaker 4: Not just any rookie, dude, he's a high draft pick, he's a top draft pick. 00:36:28 Speaker 3: But falling a sad look. 00:36:29 Speaker 1: Even if he was getting some treatment and he fell asleep during the treatment, maybe that's kind of understandable. No, Like, I mean, maybe why did anyone wake his ass up for he's at the facility, Like, hey, dude, you gotta get out there. If he's there, why didn't anyone look for him to get him. That's another weird part of the story that I'm not following. I mean, it's no one's job to look out for this guy in that way. But Yo, guys, if I ever fell asleep in a kitchen over here because I had a rough night or someone was giving me a massage, I would assume that Dan Byer would be Yo. Cavinos almost show time. 00:37:00 Speaker 5: Yeah, because we've worked together for a while. But if you're the new kid on the block, or you're the first round pick the first of all, the thought that like all fifty three players are going to be friends in a locker room is one that I think people always that is true to think of, and it's like it's not you probably have like about six guys maybe your position group as it is, and there are veterans in his position group that should have but it's maybe those veterans aren't interested in necessarily helping him out. 00:37:24 Speaker 3: Points out that reality. 00:37:25 Speaker 1: You're right, Like I'll tell you, I was shocked when I found out that not all players know each other's name on the team. You would think that as a kid too. You just assume they're a team. So you just assume your whole life that they all know each other. And there's a lot of times where they don't know each other each other at all. Yeah, you know the defense offense, maybe it's a rookie like you said, or a player that was just a choir. 00:37:48 Speaker 3: They don't even know that guy yet. 00:37:50 Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's another thing I play here. So we talked about like why the Giants made the move that they did in firing Brian Dable and promoting Mike Kafka but also keeping Joe Shane. I think that Mike Kafka has a legitimate shot at keeping this job full time. What does he do he makes the change to Jameis Winston. They have a chance to meet the Packers yesterday. If there was an interception in the end zone. They had to lead in the fourth quarter. If their first round pick is sleeping late or not making it to the meetings on time, put your foot down, show that you have control of that locker room. So that's responsibility of a new head coach trying to prove his worth. 00:38:30 Speaker 1: So it's a conflicting story. I don't even know who to believe. So again, Abdul Carter again benched. So he was bench. He said he took accountability. They're saying he was sleeping. He's saying I was getting treatment. So that's not the case. He's saying that's not true at all. They're making up lies. Why would they be making up lies about their high draft pick, their rookie player. Why would they want to build this reputation around a guy like this? 00:38:54 Speaker 3: I don't know. 00:38:55 Speaker 1: But is mercury in retro grade? Have you ever heard that? By the way, is mercury metro grade? Because a lot of my friends, this is a true story that on a personal level, have been oversleeping where they've never slept before. My brother, get this. My brother was a no show at one of his appraisals. My brother's an appraiser. He was a no show the other day and his boss called me up. His boss is an old friend of mine, but still called me up. I was like, Hey, where's your brother at It's not like him to not show up. I was like, what do you mean he didn't sho up? Becase he didn't show up for a job. I contacted my family. He wasn't answering the phone for hours. Oh my parents, my family. Everybody freaked out and thought the worse, like, oh my god, either died in his sleep, got in an accident, or the dummy overslept, And sure enough, luckily, thankfully he overslept, and he's like, oh my god, bro, nobody woke me up. It's like those responsibility is that? And then that happened to three other people I know, like in the same week, and now I'm hearing this story, so I'm like, what the hell is going on? Wake the guy up. 00:39:59 Speaker 5: Kean Coleman of the Bills was a coach's decision inactive on Sunday because he missed a team meeting on Friday. Some say he was late. One report said he was late, another said that he missed it entirely. But it's not the only one. And if you're the Bills trying to fight for a playoff spot and trying to go to a super Bowl, Kean Coleman would be a big part of playing against the Buccaneers. 00:40:19 Speaker 7: Now, as it turns out, Josh Allen didn't need him. 00:40:21 Speaker 5: And but that's that's I don't say it's the risk you take, but that's what you have to do, is you have to make these decisions whether they're going to help or hurt the football team, because it's a bigger, bigger picture sort of deal. 00:40:32 Speaker 1: And it's been like an ongoing sort of theme because just last week we talked about one of our colleagues that fell asleep on the set and when we were doing TV in New York, and he got fired from it as a result as your guy's fault. Though yeah, it clearly it was a boring show, So doesn't make. 00:40:47 Speaker 7: It think calling him out, I meant galling about it, and. 00:40:49 Speaker 1: We called him out, But playfully makes you think of the things you slept through. It makes me think of that Dwight Gooden terrible Dwight Couodn' story where he missed the parade. Remember he missed the parade in eighty six. Well, anyway, it. 00:40:59 Speaker 4: Makes me hope that we get a lot of offense at least tonight, so we're not falling asleep during Monday night football. 00:41:04 Speaker 1: Exactly. Good luck to your raiders, Danny J. Anything we're looking for. 00:41:09 Speaker 4: The over under from Vegas is fifty right now, let's let's pray for the over all. 00:41:13 Speaker 3: Right, enjoy your Monday night football. See you in a promised land.
