Episode 3 - Heresy Rises - Horus Heresy Pt1

[SPEAKER_00]: Hello and welcome to Forty K. Lorcast with me, John Barsati and Brad Chester.
[SPEAKER_00]: This guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've come a long way and finally we've reached the year thirty one thousand and five.
[SPEAKER_00]: We've now spent about three hours talking about for the last fifteen thousand years of history.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to spend three or five or more hours talking about seven years of history.
[SPEAKER_00]: So buckle up because this is about to get detailed.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're about to jump into probably the most exciting part of Laura of forty game, which is the true origin story.
[SPEAKER_02]: With the game is actually built late nineties.
[SPEAKER_02]: When I first found out about forty K, I read the Horace Harrison, which is the basis of the game.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everything that they did is the the huge civil war that split the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: broke to the impaired broke slash made the Imperium to what it is right now and set the stage for literally the game of Forty Kay.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is what it's based off.
[SPEAKER_02]: It expands wildly from here, but this is this particular time.
[SPEAKER_02]: These events that will be going over and then next two three three.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're honestly guys, we're just gonna talk and we're gonna cut them to an hour and then put the next one up.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're gonna, this is gonna go for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: If it sounds like a long diet tribe, it shouldn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is probably the most exciting lore in the game.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we have this story.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's really what is based on.
[SPEAKER_02]: And we've got to a point where the Imperium has pushed out into millions, literally millions of worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they are wildly successful.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we've lost battles.
[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't lost any real and gay.
[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, we have lost any battles or lost engagements.
[SPEAKER_02]: We are the dominant race in the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Humanity has met a smattering of the I have to quote again what the inquisition calls the lesser races.
[SPEAKER_02]: We haven't really met that much resistance from anyone else.
[SPEAKER_02]: The L.R.
[SPEAKER_02]: the space elves broke the sky and they are effectively fleeing and working with the oh yeah, we lost ninety percent of our race.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're dealing with that.
[SPEAKER_02]: Orcs are orcs.
[SPEAKER_02]: They're never going to be the orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where we're going to start
[SPEAKER_02]: It's true, but I'm saying, the works are the big.
[SPEAKER_02]: Orcs are a big issue, but works aren't typically a coordinated issue unless a great war chief has called a one.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's actually where we're going to start this one.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to start with Bullonore, which I'm going to say right now, you can rename a planet later if you want, but it doesn't change what it was.
[SPEAKER_02]: It works strong home.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so works an important piece of the game that you're going to hear me say over and over again.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's orcs are never be will have one to forty two episodes on orcs Brad wants to do Eldar forever.
[SPEAKER_00]: I want to work forever.
[SPEAKER_00]: We will give it how is solid fifteen minute episode at some point.
[SPEAKER_00]: I just can't get it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, well, well, well, it seems to it's a day of maybe ten.
[SPEAKER_00]: Tau exist boo next episode.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to start with at the end of the great crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: But this stage mankind has reconquered the the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_00]: They have brought old worlds back into the fold very millions of systems have been brought in.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there was one persistent problem that they would run to lost versions of mankind and they could conquer them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They would ride a Zeno species and they would kill them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then there were the Orcs and the Orcs actually were an issue.
[SPEAKER_00]: They get to the system and then Ulnar is one of the planets in the system.
[SPEAKER_00]: Ulnar is where the Great Orcs sits.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a giant or a army.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we say giant or a army just like it works.
[SPEAKER_00]: You've ever seen a North tend to carry a pistol and a club that do not work unless they believe exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it took nine primaries, a hundred thousand space Marines, eight million imperial army with the disoldiers, thousands of starships and over a hundred walking Titans to defeat these orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: At this battle, they finally defeat the Orcs at Olinore.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it becomes like this great achievement for mankind.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, the biggest thing is is that the Orcs were kind of centralized here.
[SPEAKER_02]: The Orcs had been one of the biggest thing that was problem for the Imperium taking on the Orcs was
[SPEAKER_02]: New York's operate in war bands.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have big the biggest and the best rocks.
[SPEAKER_02]: However, many people we can get together with them, but they're all over the place.
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't really have a centralized structure because you're it seemed like they were always stomping out fires, but another fire would show up.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they were
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a big deal for them.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is why they went so hard in all in our, is it was a chance to take care of this persistent problem that had been going on for literally hundreds of years.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and orcs are, and for those who don't know, you don't want works on your planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: They ruin the property value.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, severely diminished property value, also kind of murder every ten every single person there.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be the Emperor's big push.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to conquer Olenar.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to stamp out the York.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he brings the full party.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fourteen legions are present with nine prime marks.
[SPEAKER_02]: In a legion is legitimately thousands of space brands.
[SPEAKER_02]: and uncounted imperial guard.
[SPEAKER_02]: They effectively have the Navy with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Each of the legions has its own army Navy Air Force and they are the Marines.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they have millions of guys with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: So it's not like a few guys showed up.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, like the Marines are there.
[SPEAKER_02]: But the Marines come with a posse.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of like you're talking about the three hundred story.
[SPEAKER_02]: When they're like, there was only three hundred guys there.
[SPEAKER_02]: Wasn't there like a thousands of other guys there?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, they were there, but not really.
[SPEAKER_00]: So at the end of this, an old one was kind of a big moment.
[SPEAKER_00]: They defeat the orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: And now they defeat the orcs.
[SPEAKER_00]: They should decide to pave the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they should bring in the ad mech, who then destroy all the work structures, pave the planet and they have a giant parade.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is the end of the great crusade.
[SPEAKER_00]: Effective.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have this unified.
[SPEAKER_02]: But this is also the beginning of what's the beginning of the end because this set the seeds of doubt because they have possibly the biggest uniting moment that they've had.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's literally a two hundred year crusade that is now at the pinnacle.
[SPEAKER_02]: We're celebrating it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then bad English dad says,
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to take off and they go, what are you going to do?
[SPEAKER_02]: He's just like, I'm going to do some stuff where a terror, what kind of stuff, you know, stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then he effectively smoke bombs and leaves.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he doesn't just do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now it is the emperor leave and not tell them where he's going, but he also, specifically, why he's going?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, or why he just says, all right, I'm out.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the first thing he does is, is well received.
[SPEAKER_00]: He makes Horace the leader of the military.
[SPEAKER_00]: He makes him the warmest.
[SPEAKER_00]: You are the warmest.
[SPEAKER_00]: However,
[SPEAKER_00]: just the military.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is interesting.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor does something that I think my perspective is a smart move.
[SPEAKER_00]: He decides not to hand the reins of the Empire over to his, what I'm going to call them children because they are.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is that hands the reins to mankind.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he just he creates a council of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be
[SPEAKER_02]: The highlights of Tara have been sucky since the beginning.
[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know what?
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going a lot of disagreeing with you.
[SPEAKER_02]: Fair enough.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, I'm going to go with everybody listening.
[SPEAKER_02]: I could hand it over to my hyper intelligent able to handle anything or I can find the most corrupt bureaucrats ever and say you need to rule my millions of systems.
[SPEAKER_02]: What bad could it happen?
[SPEAKER_00]: But the flip side is one of those people that he could have handed over to was lower bar.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, another one of them was Lehman Ross, who might have just, look, you're handing it over to Bobby G. Move over to the line.
[SPEAKER_00]: We know how this works itself out.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what the emperor does is he handed over to a group of quote unquote mortals because one of them was Malkador so quote unquote, you know, Kellboro Hall of Mars, Byzantine Valdor, the Masters of the Astronomic and the Masters of the Telepathic are then then the Adeptis Administrator, which is a
[SPEAKER_00]: laziest naming I'd ever seen where we're gonna go with we call everything a depth this cool with them and well they're in charge of administration I cannot think of a lame or title that a depth is an illustration but anyway so that's what they name it and so this is not well received by the prime march to expect to take over because they're super humans and graduates they're well it's not even that
[SPEAKER_02]: in all the stories that put it there, the emperor has always kind of, I don't know if he's ever just straight stated it to them, but it has always been implied, or at least from them inferred, that they were going to rule this new imperial amount.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were going to inherit, they were going to inherit dad's business.
[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were as sons, they were going to rule over his empire.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that was always what was thought, always one hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: And now they're being told not only are they not inheriting it, but they're actually going to have to listen to the people that they could physically crush with one hand without even thinking.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like they are these people don't even compare with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're also in their mind smarter than these people.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I, you know, it probably were however the emperor had a different opinion.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the reason the emperor had a had a slightly different opinion was because he actually just spent a bunch of time with these guys and realized that his while they weren't quite thunder warrior level of violent, they were pretty violent, man.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is a mission.
[SPEAKER_02]: And most of them had serious flaws.
[SPEAKER_02]: And that's actually what most of the stories will get into a lot of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: The products are so powerful that lore-wise, in the novels and all the stories, you have to give them personal flaws.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one wants to read that story.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is, though.
[SPEAKER_02]: So you have to make things in most of the times, primarx fall is because of their own personal issues, not outside sources.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's always internal things that bring them down.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so surprise, surprise, the primarx.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're getting really up.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're happy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace is in charge of those some of them are a little bit less happy.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're us.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the flip side, though, is that they really are sitting there saying, this, the emperor betrayed us.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so now you've got super powerful beings who are feeling a lot of emotions.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a mildly famous franchise that circles around what happens when you're very powerful and you let your emotions overtake us.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, may or may not involve light savers.
[SPEAKER_00]: But that's where we're at.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so that's kind of, this moment is, this is effectively the launch point.
[SPEAKER_00]: From here, now the seeds of doubt, the seeds of corruption, the seeds of trader.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now can exist because while up until this moment with the exception of one, all of the, well, we'll backtrack in a minute.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, let's do those together.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we've got this, the stages set for chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: than lords of the gods of the warp, to Weasel O'Reyen, because there wasn't before we had a pretty much united front.
[SPEAKER_02]: Even if we didn't have everybody completely unified, everybody had the same goal working forward.
[SPEAKER_02]: You had people with purpose, now you had people with, I'm no real purpose.
[SPEAKER_02]: They were going to continue on.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because there was more, but like, they don't have an end goal because you were told you got to the end and now you're doing bonus DLC.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I mean, at the same time, at the same time, I think one thing to keep in mind is that these are like your powerful beings, but they were reporting to the most powerful being in the universe.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there's no, there's no overseer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now who has gone and now I'm looking for your brother Eric from accounting is now telling me that this world has to pay attention.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not paying.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, it's also both.
[SPEAKER_02]: You have Eric from accounting that's giving you over to hanging in the guy that's in charge of carrying this out.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: Is your literal brother who you're cool with because he's the most charismatic guy in the family, but he's also he's not your dad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: Dad, it was like the most powerful being on the planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go over a couple of flaws for a week.
[SPEAKER_02]: I get to set the stage on.
[SPEAKER_02]: But I guess chaos was there always has been there and the gods were being born, but the emperor and his infinite wisdom, even though he's a smartest guy in the imperial, this house was occasionally makes bad decisions that are horrible.
[SPEAKER_02]: Like never telling a son's about what he's doing for one, but two, the emperor's view on chaos was
[SPEAKER_02]: I won't let anybody know about cast because knowing about cast empowers cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: So if no one knows about cast, then they won't power up cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: So that was his view on that.
[SPEAKER_02]: The problem is is he didn't let others know that needed to know that cast existed.
[SPEAKER_02]: So we go back to, hey, we've had the seeds of doubt.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, for one of his sons, Lord God, the primary of the word bears,
[SPEAKER_02]: This was a big deal because Lorgar was obsessed when he took over new planets that he put up huge planetary idols-based statues, huge places to glory for the Emperor, and then he got publicly censored for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: He got put down.
[SPEAKER_02]: So the emperor said publicly, chest ice stamp for doing this.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not because the emperor, again, we go back to our early episodes.
[SPEAKER_02]: The emperor wanted to push forward and period the man that was not based on religion, only science.
[SPEAKER_02]: Lorgar was setting him up worship of the emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's dive into Lorgar.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think one of the more important parts of this from a lower standpoint is that because Lorgar oddly is kind of how this whole thing goes down.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he's how he was the first contact with the cascads, any of the named characters in the Imperium, I've got anything.
[SPEAKER_02]: And it said, after Lordgar and this is a ways before this.
[SPEAKER_02]: And what happened is Lordgar had chastised, Lordgar had told now, he got publicly put down.
[SPEAKER_02]: And after that happened, he was ashamed of set everything else.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the cascads, effectively all of them,
[SPEAKER_02]: slowly whispered to Lordgar, we are actual gods.
[SPEAKER_02]: We will give you somebody.
[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, they, they were very subtle about it at first, but over a long period of time, they said, we will give you a proper being to worship.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think let's hit it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about Lordgar for that.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Lordgar is going to be the first primar we should probably dive into a little bit and talk about the history of Lordgar.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as we discussed before, Emperor had his project in the Himalayan mountains,
[SPEAKER_00]: And out of nowhere, chaos infects these growth tanks and sends them to worlds all over the place.
[SPEAKER_00]: And each of them ends up in different levels of bad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some are real bad, some are kind of bad, some are, oh boy, Lord guys are weird one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lord guy lands on a planet called Colchis.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going with Colchis.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, but I'm continuing on with what is the caucus?
[SPEAKER_00]: It's caucus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sochis is such a better way.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, caucus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, the H is silent because English is on one language.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it lands on caucus.
[SPEAKER_00]: And caucus is this lake.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's at theocracy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they also, well, it's at theocracy that worships the cascads, but it doesn't worship the cascads in their name.
[SPEAKER_02]: They have effectively avatars in place of, you know, they have, yes, you are worshiping this god.
[SPEAKER_02]: You're like, yeah, but it's really, really.
[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's not.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's, it's the god of the wind.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, you totally have seen through the disease.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've been looking at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the whole planet's ruled by these guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, Lord Garland's, he's discovered by a guy named Corferon.
[SPEAKER_00]: Corferon comes up a lot in their future.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Corferon is a outcast priest, basically, because he was two into the chaos gods for everyone else who was into the chaos gods.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because he wanted to do the actual.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because the other ones were being tricked by, effectively, because they really did think they were worshiping the win.
[SPEAKER_02]: The sun gods.
[SPEAKER_02]: His plan had almost a
[SPEAKER_02]: I think if they wanted to mace it on Egyptian, but it's a conglomeration of whatever.
[SPEAKER_02]: But it's all these older elemental type gods that were actually, yes, guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: But they, where they were getting actual power from, was those?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he raises Lord God.
[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, initially his version of raising it is kind of drunk stepfather.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, just yells at them, abuses.
[SPEAKER_00]: And guy, I treat Lorda like garbage.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then Lorda realizes that, oh, yeah, I'm a genetically engineered giant man.
[SPEAKER_00]: And goes, I'm not going to take this anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: So then also Lord, it's that core fair on gets kind of cool when Lorda ends up supplanting him and everyone else.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Lorda is now running the planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: But what do you think about Lorda is one of Lorda's powers is, I guess, future site?
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: kind of he saw the emperor coming and wanted to he built trines to the in the thing but he did this choice he but with that that's the width when he first meets him the emperor comes down and destroys all shrines and publicly as the ultra marines just
[SPEAKER_02]: bring them down.
[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
[SPEAKER_02]: And kind of doesn't give him or just says, don't do that anymore.
[SPEAKER_02]: Just really give him how wide whatever he's just like, hey, man, I've been doing this for the past ten years.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he goes, yeah, I'm going to kill it all in a day.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then they go on the, they grab Lord Gargoyle, the crusade.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then he, he start, he still makes
[SPEAKER_02]: all of these worship worlds for the emperor.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he got censored for.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's what he got chastised for.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was actually, it wasn't even for just doing that.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was for taking too long because he would raise all these basically worship words.
[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's enough actually like doing what all of the other primers are in conquer the world move on.
[SPEAKER_00]: He would sit there.
[SPEAKER_00]: He would establish a religion.
[SPEAKER_00]: He would help.
[SPEAKER_00]: He would educate them on the ways of the emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as in worship the Emperor, as a God, as a God, as a God.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he would do this at every planet.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he was way behind what he was supposed to be doing because he would literally wait until all of this happened and then he would move on to the next system.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there is a very solid monty python like Brian here where it over and over again.
[SPEAKER_00]: The emperor is saying I'm not the Messiah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not the Messiah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not the Messiah and Lord our kept going will only the true Messiah with it would deny.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a little bit, but this all kind of leads lead the Lord Gar into, eventually the Emperor really does, just that's it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We publicly puts it down, and that's core, her, you pronounce it.
[SPEAKER_00]: KHU are.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not sure.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've heard it with Kirk.
[SPEAKER_00]: As certain blunt the Emperor says, that's it, a piss.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he shows up to one of like, he invites in quotes, all of the word bears to their favorite planet, which is Kirk.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it capital, which is Kirk.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then while they're sitting there, the ultrimer is shook and bring the thing to the ground while they watch.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then the emperor appears in front of all of them and tells them all to kneel.
[SPEAKER_00]: And when the emperor tells you to kneel, it's not like one of those like, hey, you should do it because you don't want your head.
[SPEAKER_00]: Got off.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, you just kneel because he's the most powerful being of the damn.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't even know why you're doing it.
[SPEAKER_00]: But this is kind of a weird thing for Lorgar, because the being that he's worshiped, because most powerful being on earth, just showed it was most powerful being on earth.
[SPEAKER_00]: But also just killed him for worshiping and killed his favorite city, and all the citizens for worshiping it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now the Lorgar's new view point is rather than becoming like an atheist, saying there are no gods.
[SPEAKER_00]: He goes, I just was worshiping the wrong gods.
[SPEAKER_00]: In the cast, God say, yep, you're right.
[SPEAKER_00]: So at this point, Corferon, you know, his dad, who is now been converted to a space marine, will cover that in another episode and that one twice to live.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And his buddy, Ericus, who's, yeah, there we go.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just, the word bears are so much.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are just no worse.
[SPEAKER_00]: But anyway, they decide the best way to help their buddy, Lord, go around and take them on a walk about into the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: We could go really deep into this if we want to talk about how they actually had to do this while the were custodian guards surrounding him at all times, because he ever really didn't want him doing this thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, sorry.
[SPEAKER_02]: I had to look on for our notes because John put one of my favorite things.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I want to see if we're very.
[SPEAKER_02]: They go to K, Katie, Katie.
[SPEAKER_02]: Which he has a parenthesis.

[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he does not think it's a bad idea.
[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't think it's going to have consequences later.
[SPEAKER_02]: He thinks that this is everybody should actually be worshiping these guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: They know the answers.
[SPEAKER_02]: They can see the future.
[SPEAKER_00]: They are all powerful.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so, Lord, our now has decided that the best thing to do for all of mankind is for all of mankind to come under the influence of chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: And how's he going to do that?
[SPEAKER_00]: And now we're going to jump back to the present back to the present.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now we've got a situation where Horus is sad.
[SPEAKER_00]: One of the things Horus is upset about is that the empire has changed.
[SPEAKER_00]: It went from an empire of conquest of kind of excitement.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's a warrior.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not even that though.
[SPEAKER_02]: It went from he was all he was fighting.
[SPEAKER_02]: He was doing the bad things so that I'm going to go from a serenity.
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a terrible person, but I'm fighting for the better play.
[SPEAKER_02]: I will never live in that place.
[SPEAKER_02]: But Horace always thought he was going to live in this
[SPEAKER_02]: Beacon of glorious everything's awesome.
[SPEAKER_02]: And when he looks back and goes, have a fighting this whole time for this bureaucracy laden just carrying an anchor while you're swimming over your bureaucracy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's so wide.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's so far reaching.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's millions of world.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is literally an empire of paperwork.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he's looking at it of wait a second.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is this really what I've been
[SPEAKER_02]: because he believes, Horace is a real belief, most of the primaries.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were all the primaries.
[SPEAKER_00]: They weren't following orders.
[SPEAKER_00]: They genuinely believed in that.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's a hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: That the emperor is the solution here.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now, Horace's side and all the primaries are set.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is Lord Gareth's moment, effectively.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Lord Gareth has been setting this up for a while.
[SPEAKER_00]: He never knew how he was going to do it, but he can see that a few of you, and so Lord Gareth
[SPEAKER_00]: realizes.
[SPEAKER_00]: So one thing that Lorco started doing early on was the infiltration of these things called warrior lodges.
[SPEAKER_00]: And more than full.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, more than full is the name of horses, the little wolves.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he wants to infiltrate everyone's upper tier.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is where the primers go for
[SPEAKER_02]: The only place they can go because there's they call it a large of equals because everybody's a views.

[SPEAKER_02]: So he wanted to infiltrate these because he knew this is the best place.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like let's get everyone in a room and we can very quickly hear people speaking candidly and then this way it allows me mostly Arabists actually that he just sucked.

[SPEAKER_02]: Airbus was the one and this is the big focus.
[SPEAKER_02]: Airbus was the one that was assigned to horse with a little wasn't the son's of horse.

[SPEAKER_02]: But there was word bears agents in our lodge.
[SPEAKER_00]: Every lodge and there's their goal here is to kind of keep everyone along where we're going.
[SPEAKER_00]: Wargar's goal in here is to figure out who he can turn.
[SPEAKER_00]: who he can bring to his side, and some he had to, or was being the one he has to.
[SPEAKER_02]: There's people that you can, again, you're going to have a split.
[SPEAKER_02]: And this is not even just stories.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's just period.
[SPEAKER_02]: It was a fact.
[SPEAKER_02]: They knew that there was going to be a civil war.
[SPEAKER_02]: However, he needed at least half, which they got.
[SPEAKER_02]: But you need at least half these guys, but you need certain people to come.

[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a human civilization that actually was living side by side with Zenos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because in the first millennia, this was kind of okay, not really, but whatever.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they were, like, we talked about prior episode and Brad brought up that some of these worlds that went dark were a single planet that made up camps.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that planet probably got killed.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there were other ones where it was actually star systems that were able to still, because they were close enough, with faster than light drives, they were actually able to build a mini empire.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the economics were probably the largest ones.
[SPEAKER_00]: Send about thirty star systems.
[SPEAKER_00]: They were incredibly advanced because not only did they have the dark age of technology, which wasn't really a dark age.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was just an age of technology.
[SPEAKER_00]: They had that stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: They'd also met Xenos or aliens species who brought their own technology.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so they were this light years advanced civilization that when mankind met, it was this really don't want to fight them because it's probably going to cost a lot alive.
[SPEAKER_00]: So why don't we just try to be cool.

[SPEAKER_02]: They actually in the stories, would you read the horse?

[SPEAKER_02]: They just don't have space marine technology.
[SPEAKER_02]: They don't have genetic engineering technology, but their weaponry is actually slightly better.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, actually, we'll get to what happens in a second, but there's some really cool weapons that they kind of pull out and know where.
[SPEAKER_00]: While they're there, they need with Horace, and it's a happy meeting, and they take them a little tour of their city, and their city has them using them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the museum, there's some stuff from their wars with chaos, because when you defeat a dark god, it's really important to keep all his shit around
[SPEAKER_02]: And there might be an unbelievably powerful sword from Nurgle, the god of plague and pestilence.
[SPEAKER_00]: Grandfather Nurgle.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know where, while everyone's hanging out, there's an explosion.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it turns out that someone stole, said sword.
[SPEAKER_00]: What are the few things in the galaxy that could actually hurt?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a primer.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's now happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: So there's now the interacts attack and the space rings discover that what they thought were a little decorative crossbows that guys have there are things much like what Chewbacca has actually is pretty nasty and can shoot through power on it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the being turned on, they were treated.
[SPEAKER_00]: That space Marines fled the system because the interacts were attacking.
[SPEAKER_00]: They fought their way out.
[SPEAKER_00]: Even though man kind of conquered the galaxy, they were not necessarily the most powerful thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, but they leave.
[SPEAKER_02]: No one knows what happened to go back on that.
[SPEAKER_02]: One of the reasons that the Imperium boss, I guess, man kind keeps winning at this point in time is we just have more.
[SPEAKER_02]: We have millions of worlds so we can lose a battle or never gonna lose the war because we are so willing to throw bodies at you that it doesn't matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now we're gonna get to the first part of Horace's fall.
[SPEAKER_00]: And one thing I want to circle back to is talking about
[SPEAKER_00]: Man kind doesn't know chaos exists.
[SPEAKER_00]: Magic doesn't really, there's no belief in magic or any of this stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's aliens, and that's about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: They believe they're aliens.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't believe in nirgle or corn or any of these things.
[SPEAKER_02]: Because they're wrong for it.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is why the epic so terrible at this.
[SPEAKER_02]: Ever knows about this in the entire time.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's hung out with them.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, the reason that they weren't in terror at birth was because of the chaos, guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: So these guys don't know anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: So message comes through Daven.
[SPEAKER_00]: Is it planet?
[SPEAKER_00]: And they have a moon.
[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a governor in the name Eugene Tempa.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he has turned his back on that one.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Horus, go deal with this.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horus grabs a couple of his buddies.
[SPEAKER_00]: and gets there.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's the planet look like when he lands?
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a fully, nergal again, the god of pestilence of the disease.
[SPEAKER_02]: The entire moon is that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, sludge.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's decaying sludge.
[SPEAKER_02]: It effectively is what it actually is.
[SPEAKER_02]: dead everything all creatures decaying and that is what the ground is actually made up of billions of bodies from animals to creatures to the people to everything.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is just decaying yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so Horus has to go through this and this is why I brought up the chaos thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've never seen this before.
[SPEAKER_00]: This isn't an alien world.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: Something is wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: And remember space marines are immune to toxins.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they're obviously here, they're struggling.

[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing is, is also, they have wildly attuned senses.
[SPEAKER_02]: And they all know something's wrong, but they don't know what.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the things that Space Marines are built to fight, that they're built for is their immunity to poison their extra lungs or healing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're not meant to fight dark god power.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this planet's throwing them off a little bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're actually struggling.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, now the zombies arrive and it is, you know, an unending plague of zombies.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's not walkers.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was just saying.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I was saying, but it's not your walking dead.
[SPEAKER_02]: Here's a few random zombies.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is
[SPEAKER_00]: All of the zombies figure out a bolter's getting through them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Horace decides to figure out where Eugene Tambe is with the governor and we're going to go confront him and maybe if we just kill him, it'll solve the problem.
[SPEAKER_02]: That's part about this is this guy has absolutely no bearing in history except for the fact that he's the guy that started World War I by killing the Archdiocese.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Basically.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the eventually they get to a ship that he's just sitting inside of it, which is also decaying and Horace confronts him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is a man.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is not a primer.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a spaceman.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a man.
[SPEAKER_00]: who moves with the secret primer.
[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know what to say.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's never met a cast infused anything.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So a regular guy but infused by the powers of cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he's not prepared for what this guy does.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this guy flies.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he moves around.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace can't do anything.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know where during the fight, he stabs Horace.
[SPEAKER_00]: Then he is killed.
[SPEAKER_00]: He gets obliterated.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, he was always going to lose, but he did get a, he did get a neck in, which actually, he really only really did get, he didn't help him.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the, enhancing he got a point in fighting.
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't exist anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Another guy got stabbed lightly with a point stick.
[SPEAKER_02]: But because of the fact that this is a chosen weapon of a god of pestilence.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's the thing is the blade he got stabbed with is an interesting blade.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's the one that was stolen from the hitter X. And we can now reveal.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eribus.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Eribus handed it to him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eribus secretly went down to the planet, gave it to him.
[SPEAKER_00]: The blade corrupted this governor.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the whole thing came from this blade.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what's important here is Horace has just been stabbed by a blade.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, this blade's pretty cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: This blade, actually, if you speak the name of your target into the blade, it will create a poison that targets that person.
[SPEAKER_00]: And can't effectively can't be cured.
[SPEAKER_00]: So now you've got a primar, who's the most next to the emperor, one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've got healing rates.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you can shoot them with a bolt or they couldn't care less.
[SPEAKER_00]: You should have a lascan, they couldn't care less.
[SPEAKER_00]: whatever, but he just got pinprint by a blade and he is sick, really sick, he is struggling.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they take him off world and this is when they discover all the problems.
[SPEAKER_00]: Effectively, Horace is dying.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then
[SPEAKER_02]: with the usual set up from the bad guys making a problem, then only they have the answer to the apothecaries, which are the surgeons, maybe they're they're the everythings.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're the medics.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're the medics.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're the medics.
[SPEAKER_00]: They're the medics.
[SPEAKER_02]: Horace is going to die.
[SPEAKER_02]: He is suffering from, and he's not so suffering.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's not only just an uncurable disease.
[SPEAKER_02]: It is a, hey, every nerve selling your body is on fire.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to slowly, you're going to watch effectively your favorite person ever because you're genetically designed to be that.
[SPEAKER_02]: These are currently dying.
[SPEAKER_02]: The worst death you can think of.
[SPEAKER_02]: And
[SPEAKER_02]: Arabic shows up and says, I think I have a way to cure Horace.
[SPEAKER_02]: But...
[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna have to do it outside of what is normally allowed.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he tells that to his lodge, his closest advisors, the people that love him the most and goes, I mean, guys, you shouldn't do this because we're not allowed.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you allow us to bring Horace away from the doctors and over to our shaman,
[SPEAKER_02]: over to our devil worshiping.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know every shaman's told always totally go into the serpent lodge, whatever, great name for a place you go to healed.
[SPEAKER_00]: The problem is that the Luna wolves have two choices.
[SPEAKER_00]: Their choice number one is to follow the emperor's guidance and watch Horace die.
[SPEAKER_02]: And to be fair, to be fair, everything that's going on right now that they want to do is strictly already been told that this is something you do not do.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't ever go again, the Emperor knows about cast.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he tells them not to go with witchcraft and sorcery and they, you know, anybody that could do that is a no, no, you don't.
[SPEAKER_02]: You don't go into this.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's only about science.
[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot let these people, he knows that it's because he doesn't want cast to get a foothold.
[SPEAKER_02]: But again, he doesn't tell anybody.
[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't tell them why.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just keeps doing this.
[SPEAKER_00]: So unfortunately, fortunately, whatever you want to call it, the Luna world's a great.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they take Horace dying body to Daven, which is one of the moons that is under the word bears.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in Daven, they take him into a serpent watch.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's not a cleansing ritual.
[SPEAKER_00]: In any way, shape or form.
[SPEAKER_00]: This was a way for them to basically take horses' soul out of his body and throw it into the game of terium so he can hang out with the chaos gods.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he has a wildly long premonition where they show him the future.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the future is the emperor.
[SPEAKER_02]: They telling this.
[SPEAKER_02]: The emperor is went back to Tara to
[SPEAKER_02]: get all the power of the Imperium and have himself become a God to be worshiped as a God, and that is why he left all of his sons away.
[SPEAKER_02]: And effectively tells him that some of the other Prime Minister he doesn't like as much are going to also be part of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: just straight up going, you don't really like this guy.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, he's going to be the best.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they tell him that the whole reason that his father left him is to plot against him, become a God, leave him behind, and kill him and all of his brothers.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so this point
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace effectively said, well, what do you guys want?
[SPEAKER_00]: And the chaos gods, of course, say, well, we're just, we're going to be left alone.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're not trying to do anything bad here.
[SPEAKER_00]: We just, the emperor was really, he's beaten us up.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's doing all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you just, we can help you.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you just overthrew him, then we can go back to our in material.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we could just hang out over here doing what we do.
[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys ruled in the funny thing is he at least has the good sense to not trust them.
[SPEAKER_02]: But for whatever reason, he does trust the vision.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he's really worried that his thousands of space marine brothers are going to be killed.
[SPEAKER_02]: Kill.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the emperor's going to do way with them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this stage, John, going to, you know, I will be honest, I have a thousand sons army, I like thousand sons, but I'm a turn on Magnus now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Magnus tries to help.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Magnus, because he is in, we've covered Magnus a little bit, but Magnus is
[SPEAKER_00]: the cycle of all of the power.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we see the cycle.
[SPEAKER_00]: Magnus is, what would you rack Magnus on most powerful cycles in the universe?
[SPEAKER_00]: But he's, he's literally top three.
[SPEAKER_00]: So because it's emperor, then you can go with, like an l-drat though.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's probably l-drat now.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's, well, he's, how about this?
[SPEAKER_02]: We're, we're having a debate about the top psychors.
[SPEAKER_00]: in the universe of, he's the trillion of, of trillions of magnets that's been told over and over again.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Magnus goes, okay, and then just keeps doing it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Magnus actually senses his brother in the in material and goes, and thinks his brother is dead.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he jumps in to see, hey, why, why, why are you dead?
[SPEAKER_00]: In horror, no, not dead.
[SPEAKER_00]: What's going on?
[SPEAKER_00]: Hangin' out with these guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's chaos, gods.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Magnus does try to do the right thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Try to tell them, no, these guys would be... She does several times.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, so I'm gonna refer to it with Magnus takes a lot of L's.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what he does.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's very good at taking else.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he tries to convince him of all the lies, tries to convince that these guys aren't telling the truth, but apparently he sucks at it and Horace just kind of blows Magnus off and he makes a deal with chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the deal he makes with chaos is to overthrow the emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: and in return they will cure him because one of them did this to him and they will support his army and we'll get more to how they support him later, but they do quite a bit of stuff like shielding him via the amateur because remember the one thing that we should probably discuss here quickly is
[SPEAKER_00]: the way that the mankind's empire functions, the travels, and talks through the warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: Chaos runs the warp.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they can, they want to, they can use their powers to make it so that doesn't work so good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or only works for some people and not so well for others.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace at this point has converted so now he wakes up.
[SPEAKER_00]: The loonables are thrilled because Horace is awake and he's cured.
[SPEAKER_00]: This weird demon ritual worked.
[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not going to be problems with absolutely no application.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is great.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks, Eribus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Let's all trust you more now.
[SPEAKER_00]: Even though you're the weaseliest weasel of all time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Horace is now with chaos and he has to pick who he wants to bring on board.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it goes through a long process.
[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them are easier.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think he kind of picked up Angron pretty quickly.
[SPEAKER_00]: That was
[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pretty angry on already felt a cast.
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't even know if he grants still knows if I actually I still believe if Angron had gotten to pull in our first he would have hung out with the orgs and it'd be like actually this is awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually just going to go be in work now.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's got a few others left sitting around him.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fullroom.
[SPEAKER_00]: being a big one, more terrian, and of course, Lorgar who's already is there.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lorgar's already there.
[SPEAKER_02]: And Fulgrim is not actually there yet.
[SPEAKER_02]: Fulgrim actually takes a long time.
[SPEAKER_02]: He actually convinced converts Fulgrim in a long process where he
[SPEAKER_02]: is a really good story though because full-gram I would go into later but like I'll just touch on it now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Full-gram falls because he's the most vain of all the primarx and legitimately doesn't really turn to chaos at first.
[SPEAKER_02]: He just gets manipulated to his pride just kind of you won't do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, well, that becomes basically how these guys mostly turn it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think Mortarian was an interesting one.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mortarian.
[SPEAKER_00]: Angron didn't really turn.
[SPEAKER_00]: Angron just kept being angron and it turned out that made that made him pass.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mortarian, he's able to bring over because Mortarian's got some issues with the Emperor as it stands.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, he was told that, well, he had some issues period, but like the big thing is, Horace tells him, and again, Horace's superpower is charisma is effectively telling any story he wants.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he convinces more tearing, one hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_02]: Our dad is trying to become a god, and he's going to kill us.
[SPEAKER_02]: And more tearing, who already had some long story had some doubts in the first place becomes super, he's also
[SPEAKER_02]: Mortarian should be an honorary dwarf.
[SPEAKER_02]: He already hold to grudges like no one's.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're carrying told his dad betrayed all of mankind and Mortarian just went, oh, not just me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the Mortarian in late August, like he's kind of his fall is pretty sad in my mind that they more care.
[SPEAKER_00]: Everything about Mortarian and Terry's fault of chaos is pretty sad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fulgram, let's spend some time with Fulgram.
[SPEAKER_00]: I actually do want to talk about Fulgram and his legion.
[SPEAKER_00]: Fulgram's super power, super flaw is, is that he's just likes being pretty.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's Lee's vein, but he also wants perfection.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_02]: In all things, but it becomes perfection and excess.
[SPEAKER_02]: Weirdly enough, there was a new cask on who is all about vanity and existence.
[SPEAKER_02]: So weirdly enough,
[SPEAKER_02]: He starts getting whispered.
[SPEAKER_02]: He starts getting inner circle members of his that say, why are we not doing this?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why aren't we the best?
[SPEAKER_00]: Why aren't we this?
[SPEAKER_00]: And Fulgram fall is it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's he's slowly just gets absorbed by slenash.
[SPEAKER_02]: And then he also starts to purge people around him because
[SPEAKER_02]: you're holding me back from being perfect, the best.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so this is kind of what starts happening within these legions.
[SPEAKER_00]: But there's only a few of them at this stage.
[SPEAKER_00]: A few legions where chaos is really getting it.
[SPEAKER_02]: While it's happening, we're going to swing back to Magnus, the Jesus, taking another L. Now, then this is not an L. This is a capital L on the top of a casinos.
[SPEAKER_00]: So for those of you who are new to Warhammer, you will hear the phrase, Magnus did nothing wrong, Magnus did everything wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: I am on the latter part of that.
[SPEAKER_02]: So Magnus, okay, the Emperor didn't tell anybody, this is as usual, the Emperor's father.
[SPEAKER_02]: Magnus was told one million times, do not necessarily.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Magnus tries to contact his dad.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, let's look at what his dad's really doing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what his dad is really doing is what end around in chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_02]: He is effectively trying to duplicate what the elves did, which is create a way to travel, then bypasses the warp, which basically goes into, we said it, I think, in episode two, it's like stranger things.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the upside down.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the, it's the world between worlds.
[SPEAKER_02]: He's trying to make a web way gate is what it's called.
[SPEAKER_02]: What they work.

[SPEAKER_02]: They are definitely protesting this pipeline.
[SPEAKER_02]: They are looking to blow.
[SPEAKER_02]: So they're looking for any.
[SPEAKER_02]: opportunity, but they're literally standing next to what he's doing and waiting for any tiny breach in this.
[SPEAKER_00]: He talked before about Geller Fields.
[SPEAKER_00]: He has surrounded his project with Geller Fields.
[SPEAKER_00]: He did nothing is coming in.
[SPEAKER_00]: The Emperor begins bottom of the Himalayan Mountains.
[SPEAKER_00]: He could have done this on the plains of the Serengeti.
[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't matter.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he was to be in a mountain fortress like Dr. Evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's what he wants to do.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's in the and his Dr. Evil fortress working on this thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's surrounded by these fields that keep slight energy up.
[SPEAKER_00]: Magnus discovers.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wants to do the right thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: And in the brothers are turning the chaos.
[SPEAKER_02]: Worst way ever, instead of just sending a message, which actually he got a guy pretty quickly says, I have to tell him right now.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: And the best way to tell him is to use my sorcery powers, which are powered by the warp.
[SPEAKER_02]: to tell Dad, well, in doing this because he's crazy powerful, he punches a hole through his defenses and literally lets a demonic infestation in a giant incursion happen in the middle of his dad's work.
[SPEAKER_02]: Also, not exactly super excited that he was working effectively underwater and his son pickaxe, too.
[SPEAKER_00]: And literal demons begin pouring into the capital.
[SPEAKER_02]: But not just a couple guys went into this thing.
[SPEAKER_02]: All of them.
[SPEAKER_02]: They've been massing everywhere around here because they can't get it.
[SPEAKER_02]: And there's just armies like infinite hordes of demons sitting here going, you guys ready?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we've got forty six million lines of us ready to go.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so now in the it's at a cool little work that she's got the basement working on his new thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now he has to commit soldiers and troops to fighting the demons, which by the way, he's told everyone don't actually exist.
[SPEAKER_00]: blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[SPEAKER_00]: This sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Emperor doesn't really listen to what Magnus is saying.
[SPEAKER_00]: These two busy yelling at him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And eventually, we're covered this a little bit later.
[SPEAKER_00]: He decides to send a space wolves and this is sort of silence and the custodes to go dealing the situation that is kind of does.
[SPEAKER_02]: because yeah, he sends it the force, but Horace actually finds out that this is that happened from the cast gods.
[SPEAKER_02]: So Horace context, Lehman Russ, the primar of the Space Wolves, and just says, you need to go, where is the farthest place I can possibly have you away from what I'm going to do?
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: Over here.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: What you go over there, and you also, instead of like doing what dad said, which was, you know, grab matters and bring him back.
[SPEAKER_00]: You need to tell him.
[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you need to exterminate.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, actually, he burns prosperity.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So this is, you know, and we're going to cover.
[SPEAKER_00]: Magnus is next couple of big big losses in the coming episodes, but they're coming up.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's kind of, but that's also, but Brian would just talk about there was an important.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is also a big inflection point for Horace Horace now is committed to the revolution.
[SPEAKER_02]: Well, this is the thing that Horace is an orc here, because he was a, I can't say on winning Palm because he's not so many times he could turn back.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_02]: So he's, it's a tragic story, but it's also a, hey, man, here's these, you know, if it's being different, you could have got off the bad guy expressed way at these fifteen exits, and you decided not to step up.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so you were prideful.
[SPEAKER_02]: You also were convinced that you are better than the Emperor in ruling.
[SPEAKER_02]: You will make the Imperium better and the entire time he's being infused with power.
[SPEAKER_02]: So not only am I I agree with you guys.
[SPEAKER_02]: I am going to be better.
[SPEAKER_02]: But also on clearly stronger faster, I have new powers.
[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, this is the right decision.
[SPEAKER_02]: And he effectively does what most clients do in books and real life says, I'm going to have to do bad things.
[SPEAKER_00]: But it's for the greater good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now he's on the path.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's made his decision.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to kill my dad.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to earth.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're overthrown this empire.
[SPEAKER_00]: But he's still not ready to go yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a couple of his brothers on his side.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the other problem he has is that even within his own legions, his legions in the other legions,
[SPEAKER_00]: It's what's all the lesions he's gotten so far.
[SPEAKER_02]: This is a big thing because they do it.
[SPEAKER_02]: Everybody that's corrupted is told in different.
[SPEAKER_02]: He convinces him in different ways.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's all different.
[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same message word of different likes, which is you gotta get everybody on board and wink wink.
[SPEAKER_02]: If they're not on board, you got to do something above that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So Horace then realizes that it's on him to do this something.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what he's going to have to do to make this revolution work is yes, and everyone unifies.
[SPEAKER_00]: I've got to purge allegiance.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to have to go through it, figure out who's loyal, who's not loyal.
[SPEAKER_00]: This goes back to the warrior lodges.
[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks to the warrior lodges, they know.
[SPEAKER_00]: They actually do have, they've got their list of loyal, not loyal, no extra mark.
[SPEAKER_00]: Poor Garvin.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you kind of see throughout a lot of this stuff.
[SPEAKER_02]: He likes the bad decision.
[SPEAKER_02]: He is wildly that
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, tactical brilliant.
[SPEAKER_00]: In every story we hear about Morris, he's an incredible tactician.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he decides to do his best at a trap.
[SPEAKER_00]: At that point, we're going to conclude this episode because the next one is going to be the opening of the rebellion.
[SPEAKER_00]: At this point, Magnus knows Horace knows not a lot of other people know.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he's about to make sure everyone knows.
