Now Here's Matt Jones. 00:01:05 Speaker 4: Welcome back. 00:01:06 Speaker 5: I renumber two Kentucky Sports Radio. If I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven. Here it's ks bar and grill. You can come on out and we are open for lunch. Say hi, everybody, Uh go, you know, do a little dance when you walk in. Ryan was Ryan was advocating for the chili Gillespie. 00:01:23 Speaker 2: I just told Jennifer the chili Gillespie is awesome. Here can we put that great corn bread and then put the chili over the corn bread? It's so good, it's perfect this time of year. 00:01:31 Speaker 4: I don't think I've ever heard you more excited about anything. 00:01:34 Speaker 2: Now we've got the lunch combo where you can get a grilled cheese with it, and the grilled. 00:01:37 Speaker 6: Cheese is good. Here's a little secret, get the bacon on the grilled cheese. Why are you whispered secret? 00:01:43 Speaker 4: Yes, yes, it's going really well. 00:01:48 Speaker 2: I've picked up a few pounds, you know, Thanksgiving, Seattle, Christmas, New Year's. 00:01:52 Speaker 6: Yeah, I picked up a few pounds. 00:01:53 Speaker 7: Add bacon to my somebody. 00:01:54 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:01:54 Speaker 5: You know what, when you're when you're on the diet, just just add some bad some bacon, Add some bacon. 00:02:00 Speaker 4: Let's talk for a second about Indiana. Wow. 00:02:04 Speaker 5: Students during the game the other night at Indiana were chanting fire Woodson at Mike Woodson during the game in the first half they were down at one point forty in the game to Illinois at home. They have we were talking about big nil rosters they might have, along with Arkansas and Kansas State the biggest. They paid two million dollars for Omar Diallo, who has been spotted before two games this year, once in a casino and once at a bar the night before the game. The second time, the first time he got warned. The second time he got suspended. 00:02:42 Speaker 4: For a game. 00:02:44 Speaker 5: There's a play that's floating around the internet of him on a loose ball just standing there like literally not even movie. It's one of the funniest things you'll ever see. But it's not just him. The whole team stinks. They You look at their schedule, it's gonna be hard to see where they win games. Will Indiana Basketball Rne ever be good again? And go ahead and say no, it's. 00:03:09 Speaker 6: Gonna be tough. 00:03:10 Speaker 5: Man. 00:03:10 Speaker 2: They thought hiring Mike Woodson they were gonna get what we're getting with Pope, you know, former player, bring back the juice, you know, try to get the program back lunch level. 00:03:18 Speaker 6: We got it with Pope. The Mike Woodson experiment has totally backfired on them, and. 00:03:22 Speaker 5: They, you know the fire Woodson like that, that would never happen in rup now. 00:03:28 Speaker 4: I don't care who it was. 00:03:29 Speaker 5: I mean, the people didn't chant that at Billy Gillespie like that would for Indiana basketball to have people chanting fire the coach in the first. 00:03:38 Speaker 4: Half of a game. It was still the first half when they chanted it. 00:03:42 Speaker 7: It wasn't like a few loud people in the student section. That was a choir in Assembly Hall in Unison cheering fire Woodson. And then I don't know the reporter, but they were in the just the concourse of the mass exodus at some point in the game, maybe halftime. I mean they were flooding out of that arena with a lot of time still on the clock. 00:04:00 Speaker 4: In the second half, like halfway through the second half, the student section was completely empty, like there was no one in the student section. They asked Woodson about it afterwards and he was like, well, I hope we continue to get fan support. And I was like, continue, you know, I mean, it doesn't seem like you have it now. It is amazing to think that Indiana was once a power program, because there are people like, if you're in college listening to this, you don't know that Indiana was ever a power program, right, yeah? 00:04:28 Speaker 6: But Mario player even remember know Indiana being a power game. 00:04:31 Speaker 5: Name your most famous Indiana player, Mario Yogi Farrell. But I just want you to think about that. He comes up with Yogi Feral because okay, who's the best Indiana. 00:04:46 Speaker 4: Player that I was twenty year Yogi Farrell. But that's what that's I mean, it's been that long. 00:04:51 Speaker 6: They don't know. 00:04:52 Speaker 2: They don't know Indiana as a basketball power at all. Joe Sam and these guys a younger generation, they know him as losers. 00:04:58 Speaker 4: Oh big. 00:05:00 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:05:01 Speaker 5: Like if you look at programs that are quote unquote blue blood, Indiana is the one that's had the success the farthest back. I mean even Louisville while they were terrible last few years, you know, mid twenty ten's very good. 00:05:16 Speaker 4: Yes, Indiana's not been very good. 00:05:19 Speaker 2: It's Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller team. That's probably the last time they had a good team. 00:05:23 Speaker 5: That team lost in the second round. They had the one Mike Davis team run to the finals. 00:05:28 Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, but that's it. 00:05:31 Speaker 5: Otherwise, Indiana basketball, it is unbelievable to watch how they fall, and especially when you're like us and grew up with Indiana being a top program every years. 00:05:40 Speaker 4: It's sad, actually it really is. 00:05:42 Speaker 2: Indiana was one of the top three programs for a twenty twenty five years. Now it seems like it's crazy thought put him in that category. 00:05:51 Speaker 7: Krean got him to like two Sweet sixteens, beating Kentucky in one of them. Actually, but uh oh, he missed the tournament like four years Man Miller was there. He didn't make the tournament before that. I had many years not making the tournament. They have just been forgetting. 00:06:02 Speaker 5: They had one really good team and that's the team you were talking about, Cody Zeller and Victor Oladipo and they got upset in the second round. But that's really the only really good team they have had in thirty years, which is which is unbelievable. 00:06:16 Speaker 7: And you can't let it go on that long because, like you're saying, they have to go recruit these kids. I just mess don't even know they existed and had that tradition. 00:06:23 Speaker 4: Everyone just moves on Who's up next? 00:06:24 Speaker 3: Brian and Franklin. 00:06:26 Speaker 4: Brian and Franklin. They found nine eighty seven. 00:06:30 Speaker 8: So this game was artist concerns me a little bit. And the fact of we are everybody super Bowl, and so having said that, assuming no, not, assuming I don't even want to go there. I don't want to breathe that in today. If it were to happen that, say, uh, Wagner hits the last second shot, kind of like the Watford shot. Yeah, which fan base is gonna give us the most crap? 00:07:04 Speaker 7: Is it gonna be. 00:07:04 Speaker 8: The Indiana fan base of past Or. Is it gonna be the Arkansas fan base? 00:07:09 Speaker 5: Nay, Indiana has nothing they can say. I mean, I'm not gonna listen to an Indiana fan say anything. I appreciate the call. Arkansas will give us the most crap, but you know what, they're not making the tournament, whether they beat us or not. I mean that they're just not. So Yeah, we want to win that game. It'll stink if we lose, but it does not. 00:07:30 Speaker 7: Do you agree with me, Drew? 00:07:31 Speaker 5: Even if we lost a game, it doesn't change the overall calculus of that this was the right thing to happen. 00:07:37 Speaker 7: No, not at all. I will wake up the next day, watch football, and by Wednesday of that week moved on to the next SEC game. 00:07:43 Speaker 4: Yeah, I will too. 00:07:44 Speaker 7: I completely agree with you because I'm so excited for the rest of this run, the SEC Tournament, the NCAA Tournament. I will not give Arkansas the pleasure of taking that joy for me if. 00:07:53 Speaker 4: They were good. 00:07:54 Speaker 5: If they were good and then won that game, then that's a little different. 00:07:59 Speaker 4: But they're not. So if we lose, it's a fluke. 00:08:01 Speaker 7: And that would kind of prove I'm not already trying to make excuses if this were to happen, but it would, like I said to me ago, it would be like, oh yeah, John Caliperry won a regular season game to do anything else. Yeah, that was us for the last few years. We know that. Congratulations we flexed after Auburn last year. Have your flex and then fizzle out. 00:08:17 Speaker 2: Yeah, Kentucky's still going to make the tournament, win or lose that game and not affect them our postseason aspirations at all. 00:08:23 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean they to whatever extent. I had a lingering in the back of my mind worry that there would be a world where it could collapse and not make the tournament. That kind of went away with these back to I'm kind of with Yelsov. 00:08:35 Speaker 7: And against ranked teams is a pretty silly record of a resume. 00:08:39 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:08:40 Speaker 5: By the way, somebody suggested that they think the exhibition game against a power team, that that will be how we played Patino in Saint John's. 00:08:48 Speaker 4: That makes a lot of sense. 00:08:49 Speaker 2: I think that's the right answer. Yeah, But would you play it in New York they're talking about it. 00:08:54 Speaker 5: I think'd play the first one here in Lexington. I think Rick would want to come down. By the way, did you see the crowd Rick had for his game against Georgetown Madison Square Garden full rock? Like he has done. You gotta give him credit. He has done exactly what he said he wanted to do there. I mean they were playing Georgetown at like, you know, a regular and they were it was full and rocket. 00:09:14 Speaker 7: That's pretty cool. I didn't see it, but I recently watched that ESPN thirty for thirty about when the Big East was so good and that area just kind of needs the basketball to get back to where her house. 00:09:23 Speaker 4: He's like fifteen and three or fourteen to three, like they're really good. 00:09:25 Speaker 2: They're a tournament team. Yeah, well, you know they're gonna be in our bracket too in the NCAA tournament. 00:09:29 Speaker 4: Probably bring them on. Rick, who's next? 00:09:31 Speaker 3: Shane from Grayson, Shae from Grayson? 00:09:33 Speaker 4: How are you? 00:09:36 Speaker 9: How do they go flers today? 00:09:38 Speaker 4: I'm doing good? 00:09:39 Speaker 10: Hey, Hey, I just. 00:09:42 Speaker 9: Got an over an under question. 00:09:44 Speaker 2: Uh, I'll say that one. 00:09:47 Speaker 9: Does Mark Pope get ejected from any game this year? And almost say it to a time that Kentucky. 00:09:55 Speaker 5: I don't think Mark Pope ever gets ejected. I could see him getting a technical one day. I appreciate the call. I think he said he has one technical in his coaching career. 00:10:02 Speaker 7: Oh, he's got more. I did a deep dive. I watched all of them. Which ones you want to know about? I wrote a post on this last week. He slammed a water bottle one time and the top shot up and covered radio row and water, And I think even he realized I didn't mean to slam it that hard. He had like a look of shot. I mean, does he have he had to last year? He has one that's pretty bad. It was late in the game in the conference tournament about four years ago. Really he argued at Kansas and got one and inspired the team. Even the story's written about it was like Mark Pope fuels By, you come back because they went on like a twelve two run right after it. 00:10:32 Speaker 4: It's hard to see him getting one, though, isn't it. 00:10:36 Speaker 2: Well he did say, oh my gosh, you. 00:10:42 Speaker 3: Know, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if they teat him up. 00:10:45 Speaker 4: So all right, does he get one? Then? 00:10:47 Speaker 11: I thought the answer was definitely noticed over others got to zero point five. There's a different one ejected and getting a tea. Yes, yeah, I don't think he's been ejected. He's been teed quite a few times. 00:10:58 Speaker 6: I could see him getting a technical. 00:10:59 Speaker 4: Not that's why I cannot see him getting ejected. 00:11:04 Speaker 5: No, now I can see him getting a technical because we all have our moments. 00:11:08 Speaker 4: But I cannot see him getting ejected. That's just not happening. 00:11:12 Speaker 6: That's just not in his DNA really. 00:11:14 Speaker 5: By the way, some news here, Bob Yucker has passed away, the longtime baseball announcer for the Milwaukee Brewers. Bob Yuker was still calling games last year. Most people know him, i'd say major League and the Miller like Commerkamer. But he was also a really good baseball player and a great announcer back when, back when I was like in the twenty tens, when they started to get where you could hear online the radio broadcasts of other teams, I would put Bob Uker on. Even though I didn't care about the Brewers. I just liked listening to him because I thought he was so funny, uh and kind of one of a kind. 00:12:00 Speaker 4: Did the National base like baseball? I mean he he was on the World Series in number of years there for NBC. 00:12:06 Speaker 2: One of the most colorful baseball people ever. He just was and I think he really became to start him on those Miller like commercials. You know, it must be in the front road, you know, that's why people got to know him. And then once they found him, he just his star just really started to show. 00:12:21 Speaker 5: He was one of the classic lines ever from Major League Just. 00:12:27 Speaker 7: That's where I first learned of him. But over time, like when the Brewers would have those terrible seasons, he would not hold back from talking about how bad they were. 00:12:33 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, that's a that's a sad to see. I mean, he was, he was. He was one. He was almost like Barkley in some ways. He may have been like the baseball. 00:12:43 Speaker 6: Barkley not afraid to say what was on his mind. 00:12:46 Speaker 4: And he also, I mean his drinking in the booth is like legendary. Yeah, he would. 00:12:54 Speaker 5: There's some stories that like let's say they were playing you know, I don't know, the Padres or something, he would challenge the Padres announcer to go shot for shot with him, and then like it'd be the seventh inning and the Padres announcer would like not be able to speak, and then the UK would be like, you know, we used. 00:13:14 Speaker 7: To be a proper country. It sounds like a great game. 00:13:16 Speaker 4: Who's up next? Let's go to Dubba Dubba? How are you Dubba? Hey? 00:13:22 Speaker 10: Doing good? 00:13:23 Speaker 12: Fellas? 00:13:23 Speaker 4: How are y'all doing doing good? All right? 00:13:27 Speaker 13: I got I got two quick things for you. 00:13:29 Speaker 2: First one. 00:13:30 Speaker 13: The second one is related to the first one on the Indiana and Arkansas thing. I just think that with nil uh. You know, players have a little bit less, you know, motivation for how they're gonna the efforts that they're gonna put in unless they're being kept accountable somehow, you know, I don't. 00:13:51 Speaker 5: I always people keep saying that, and I don't understand why, Like, let me just let me like take omardy'all. 00:13:58 Speaker 13: I guess if you're getting paid, you know. 00:14:00 Speaker 5: Yeah, but but like everyone gets paid like in in in sports, Like do you think I say this a lot? Do you think Steph Curry doesn't try because he's getting paid. 00:14:12 Speaker 13: No, he's already made it to where he wants to, like you, so but. 00:14:20 Speaker 5: All the more reason to keep trying is if you haven't, Like if you're O Mardillo, Let's say you're getting two million dollars right after taxes. When we talk about one point two million, maybe one point one, Okay, So now you're sitting there with one point one. Do you want to play basketball the rest of your life or not? That one point one is not gonna set you for life. So if you want to play basketball the rest of your life, man, you better be good. 00:14:41 Speaker 4: You better keep performing. 00:14:43 Speaker 5: I mean this idea that like you would get one paycheck and stop. Maybe I appreciate the call, but that's just because you're the kind of person who might not be very motivated anyway. 00:14:53 Speaker 7: Drew, Right, Yeah, if I've been playing basketball since I was a toddler and then someone starts paying me for it, I'm gonna go I want to keep playing basketball. I want to get even better. This money's nice, I want more of it. I want this to be my career. I wouldn't go, oh, I got to check. I'm done playing basketball now. 00:15:07 Speaker 5: Look think about Travis Kelsey, how much money he's made. He's got one hundred and twenty five million dollar podcast deal, He's gonna probably marry the richest singer in the world. And yet when you hear him talk about the playoffs, he's like, I'm going to destroy them. 00:15:24 Speaker 7: He almost killed Andy Reid on the sideline last year. 00:15:26 Speaker 5: So people who are motivated are motivated either way. 00:15:31 Speaker 4: And if you're not Ryan, then you're not. 00:15:34 Speaker 2: And I guess there's just certain situations like the Diallo kid from Indiana and the kid at Arkansas. But we had a couple of football players here that I think kind of fell in that trap where Okay. 00:15:44 Speaker 5: Well, you know what you've got. Your job is to search those people out and get rid of them. But the idea that players in general wouldn't be I agree. 00:15:51 Speaker 4: I mean, our dudes this year they're making I'd say everyone in the rotation is making hundreds of thousands of dollars, all of them. Do you get the sense they're not trying. 00:16:01 Speaker 6: Absolutely not. I don't trying, more so. 00:16:04 Speaker 7: Their competitors, and they want more hundreds of thousands of Yeah. 00:16:07 Speaker 4: Exactly right, you know. 00:16:09 Speaker 5: I mean, well, I files Elon Musk, I'd retire, but something makes him keep going. 00:16:15 Speaker 4: Bill Gates. 00:16:16 Speaker 5: They keep going cause like people have a competitive uh nature. That's KSR. Welcome back, Tecki Swartz Radio. One of the things we forgot about Bob Buker he was on Mister Belvidere. 00:16:56 Speaker 6: Was one of the stars of Mister You Gotta. 00:16:57 Speaker 5: Play the next segment, Shannon, the theme song to mister Belvidere streaks on the China. 00:17:04 Speaker 2: Never before Mister Belvidere fans. 00:17:08 Speaker 4: I don't know why I remember that, Like, I haven't thought about that song in twenty year, but I think it says streaks on the China, never man of me? 00:17:17 Speaker 7: Who can I had completely forgot about. Mister you pulled that out of nowhere. 00:17:22 Speaker 4: Well somebody Roby. I wouldn't. I wouldn't. Bedere. 00:17:26 Speaker 5: Yeah, he was the he was like the comic relief guy on on mister. I think he was maybe the dad, and mister Belvidere was the was the housekeeper. 00:17:35 Speaker 4: You know. 00:17:36 Speaker 2: I both said that sounds like a show Shannon would have watched. That's like kind of his. 00:17:39 Speaker 4: I'm surprised you didn't watching. 00:17:40 Speaker 5: All right, so let's talk about I want you know you have often talked about running for mayor of Lexington. 00:17:44 Speaker 7: Run. 00:17:45 Speaker 5: Yes, all right, So people need to know the positions of their future mayor. Have you seen what's happening in New York with the congestion pricing? Tell me about it, all right? So New York passed. You know, there was too many cars in New York, too much traffic. If you try to drive New York City like it was, it. 00:18:02 Speaker 4: Was a cluster. 00:18:03 Speaker 5: So in order to encourage people to take the subway to walk. To find alternate forms, they created a nine dollars congestion pricing. Basically, if you cross in the city at various places, it's nine dollars, okay, And it's had a pretty strong impact, Like there aren't as many cars on the streets, which is allowing it to be easier for people to walk. More people are taking the subway, et cetera. But there are people who say, you know, I want to be able to drive my car. You should never drive your car in New York City unless you have to because even just parking is like fifty dollars. 00:18:39 Speaker 4: But there were people complaining. Some people like it. So here's my question for you. 00:18:43 Speaker 5: We all know Lexington traffic is terrible, awful, absolutely terrible. Would you be in favor of at a couple of places in Lexington where it's particularly bad, maybe out there on Nicholsville Road, maybe out new Town Pike at four or five o'clock, would you be favored for like. 00:19:01 Speaker 4: A one dollar or two. 00:19:04 Speaker 5: Dollars congestion pricing to try to like make it to where it encourages people to do find other ways or it also raises money for the city. What do you think about congestion pricing in a limited administration. 00:19:19 Speaker 2: It for the first time. I'm thinking to myself, I don't think I would go for that. Why well, we don't have a subway or other means of transportation, so we'd have to do a lifts or ubers and things like that. So I think my initial reaction was would be no. 00:19:32 Speaker 4: We have buses. 00:19:33 Speaker 6: Yeah, we have buses. 00:19:34 Speaker 5: That is an interesting point. We don't have subway, so that does make it a little different. But so you would say no. 00:19:40 Speaker 6: I would say no. 00:19:41 Speaker 4: I what if I could show you. 00:19:43 Speaker 5: A study I'm not saying I can that would say there'd be twenty five percent less traffic in Lexington if you did that. 00:19:50 Speaker 2: And you brought up a good point where you said it does raise money for maybe other things a city can use, you know. 00:19:55 Speaker 4: Like maybe better bus SERVI yeah, if if oh, here we go, if we ever did it, I think I would just put it on three roads. 00:20:04 Speaker 2: What three roads nichols Field Road, Newtown Pike, Winchester Road. That seems to be the major arteries that backs up during rush hour, So you put it on those three road just on those three roads. Do you think a dollar or. 00:20:15 Speaker 4: Two dollars would be enough to encourage you not to drive, or would people just still do it and just pay the dollar? 00:20:22 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think most people would like I'm not I'm just gonna drive myself. I don't think that's gonna do it. 00:20:29 Speaker 7: Yeah, we don't have the public transportation and the being a walking city. I think to enforce that, I think that'd be a bad idea Winchester Road or Ryan some where people are walking, because the big part of the reason New York did it too was a lot of pedestrians just everywhere in too many cars. Like we already have a lot of people walking with outside walks out that way as it is. I think you gotta be if you're going to force that your public transportation in your walking areas have to be built up enough. 00:20:52 Speaker 4: We should say something about that Winchester Road. I don't know how many of you all drive on Winchester Road every day, but Winchester Road is like Grand theft Auditt. I mean there are people. 00:21:04 Speaker 5: Walking across the street and like running across the highway and there you're right, there are no sidewalks, which makes. 00:21:12 Speaker 7: It a little loss walks or bad. So they just try to sprint across. 00:21:14 Speaker 5: I mean, Winchester Road is like dangerous and I don't really know what you can do about it, but that some of those sections like New Circle and then the inner like it. 00:21:26 Speaker 4: Is just it is just chaos during the day, one even at night. 00:21:31 Speaker 2: One of the new stations and I'm sorry, I don't remember it was Channel eighteen or Channel twenty seven did a investigation about all these people getting hit by cars on Winchester Road, like in the past year. Drew can tell you this, man, it's been like two dozen. It's been crazy. 00:21:46 Speaker 7: I've been looking dead ahead, paying attention, not on the phone, not listening to music, driving just like I'm supposed to, and you will have a person walk out sadly. You know, you have people out there pushing shopping cars that don't really have a place to go. I mean, they will just step out in front of your because it's. 00:22:00 Speaker 5: It can be blind sometimes and you can't see them see them there. 00:22:04 Speaker 4: It's that's that is a very dangerous answer. 00:22:06 Speaker 7: We got to be a little better at getting people around if we're going to take away cars, at least in New York. 00:22:11 Speaker 5: I kind of get it, though, Yeah, I think it's people were very mad when it first started. But now a lot of people in New York are like, hey, there aren't as many cars. 00:22:19 Speaker 7: This is good in New York. I think they probably should have cleaned the subways before announcing it. They announced like two days after that woman was like on fire, So they should have made it a little better before doing it. 00:22:28 Speaker 3: Who's up next, Jason? 00:22:30 Speaker 5: Jason, Go ahead, Jason nine two eighty seven. 00:22:34 Speaker 9: Yeah, too quick comments for questions? Uh, can we name a player in the last twenty or twenty five years that Cal has recruited and developed into a NBA player draft pick that wasn't already going to be drafted. 00:22:51 Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, there's definitely dudes. I mean, he made Shay Alexander a lot better. He made Tyler Hero a lot better than he came in. For all my criticisms of col, he they were definitely guys he made better during their time here. Devin Booker was not Devin Booker when he came out of high school. 00:23:12 Speaker 4: I mean, there's there were a bunch of those guys. 00:23:16 Speaker 9: Second point, what would be a greater accomplishment this year? Or harder accomplishment? Winning the SEC regular season and tournament title or winning the NCAA Championship. 00:23:31 Speaker 4: Great question, I'll answer it right after this. TJ Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:38 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Nott Jones. 00:23:43 Speaker 6: Yeah, though, now, how did you remember this? 00:23:50 Speaker 4: How about remembering the first line? 00:23:52 Speaker 6: Yeah, the one. 00:23:55 Speaker 4: I can't believe I remember. 00:23:57 Speaker 6: I can't either. 00:23:57 Speaker 5: When was the last time I watched the show thirty years ago? It's not like it's I mean. 00:24:01 Speaker 6: I because it wasn't a very long and it's. 00:24:04 Speaker 4: Not like it's on the streaming service. This is the one that's had to come back like, Yeah, I mean, it's not like The Office that that people still watch. I don't know how in the world I remember this. 00:24:13 Speaker 7: I'm gonna find it when I get home, though, I know that what were like? 00:24:16 Speaker 5: Can you think of shows like Mister Belvidere that like no one talks about, but you watch this, Like I'll tell you one Perfect Strangers. Yeah, there's a show that you haven't seen in with cousin Larry and BALKI. 00:24:30 Speaker 6: I remember that show. 00:24:31 Speaker 7: Yeah, I have a show that I thought I made up in my head because no one talks about anymore. But you all remember I'm a little younger, but dinosaurs that was on like the Yeah you see they were like they were just big dinosaurs. Yeah, I loved it. 00:24:45 Speaker 6: I have no idea what you're talking about. 00:24:46 Speaker 4: I remember it. I remember that little Yeah, I remember that. 00:24:52 Speaker 2: Oh they're like clamation, I mean, it wasn't real that that show. 00:24:57 Speaker 4: They didn't use actual dinosaurs because that would be just a sitcom. 00:25:01 Speaker 6: I think Shannon's impersonation nailed it for me. 00:25:03 Speaker 7: Sinclair's that was their name. 00:25:05 Speaker 5: Oh wow, that's quite Yeah. 00:25:10 Speaker 4: What are other big shows that just have no shelf life? Lighter? 00:25:14 Speaker 5: Like I'll give you one. The Wonder Years was a huge show. When's the last time you've seen that? 00:25:20 Speaker 10: Like? 00:25:21 Speaker 4: Maybe didn't the Terrible Maybe, but. 00:25:23 Speaker 5: Like full House in some of those shows, urcle, you still hear people sometimes mention them, but like the Wonder Yours is just falling. 00:25:29 Speaker 4: Like no one, no one ever mentions that? Is there any more? You could think of like. 00:25:33 Speaker 3: That Valerie Harper, do you know who that is? Valor had had a show called Valerie, and then it was the Holgan Family later I remember. 00:25:41 Speaker 4: And the Hogan Family. 00:25:42 Speaker 5: I remember both of those, and no one talks about those at all. 00:25:46 Speaker 6: Family ties, family ties. 00:25:49 Speaker 5: When's the last time you've heard I mean people know Michael J. Fox, But when's the last time you've heard somebody talk about family ties? 00:25:55 Speaker 4: Well? 00:25:56 Speaker 2: What was the spin off of family Ties of the lady who had the. 00:26:00 Speaker 6: Uh School for Girls? 00:26:02 Speaker 4: Oh? Facts of Life? 00:26:03 Speaker 6: Facts of Life? 00:26:03 Speaker 5: Oh I love Now there's a theme song, yeah, Shane, And that's gonna be the next Segmentake. 00:26:09 Speaker 4: The good, you take the bad, you take them both in there you have the. 00:26:12 Speaker 6: Facts of Life, the Facts of Life. 00:26:15 Speaker 4: There's the time you got a bird about it? 00:26:17 Speaker 6: Be the Facts of Life, Facts of Life? 00:26:22 Speaker 5: Different Strokes, Yeah, Different Strokes. That still comes on sometimes. Do you remember the characters on the Facts of Life? Tuty, Touty, Blair. 00:26:32 Speaker 4: Blair, Natalie, Natalie, and who rode the motorcycle? 00:26:38 Speaker 5: Joe Joe. Yeah, that it is. It is a shame that I remember this like literally my something else in it except the characters on the Facts of Life. 00:26:49 Speaker 6: What was the headmaster's name, Missus Garrett? Garrett? 00:26:52 Speaker 4: Yes, that was a spin off of Different Strokes. 00:26:55 Speaker 5: Missus Garrett was the was was Arnold? And Willis? What you talk about Willis's Housekeeper? 00:27:02 Speaker 4: All right? 00:27:02 Speaker 5: We need to move on before I before I make myself any more sad. So there's a new website that's been that started called fan Steak. 00:27:12 Speaker 4: Have you seen this? 00:27:12 Speaker 5: No, I don't really understand how this is legal, and it may not be legal, but basically, a recruit signs up with fans Steak and fans can contribute money. 00:27:26 Speaker 4: It looks like to try to get the kid to come to their school. Have you seen this? So? 00:27:32 Speaker 5: I think Caleb Wilson has it. I don't know if he officially signed up for it, I'm not sure, but literally teams their fan base can give money and I don't know if the kid gets it or not. Now we are not our people have not signed up yet. I am not encouraging people to do it right because I don't know anything about it. But it is like North Carolina, their fans have put in a decent little chunk of money for Caleb Wilson. You think this is the future, like fans basically bid on the players. 00:28:06 Speaker 7: It just seems so wrong from what we had for so many years. And I hate that fans are the ones having to fork more over, but I mean, it seems like it's heaving that direction. 00:28:14 Speaker 4: And I think the kid only gets it if he picks the school at that school, So like the money gets refunded unless the kid picks the school that you went to. 00:28:25 Speaker 2: I mean, it's not illegal at the moment, so I can see why this is the thing starting to happen. 00:28:30 Speaker 6: It's strange, though, is very it doesn't feel right. 00:28:33 Speaker 4: But it does not feel right. 00:28:34 Speaker 7: You used to have to put one hundred dollars in a program and roll it up and hand it to him. I sty're walking out of the arena. Now you can just pull up your phone and venmo it to him. It seems like, yeah, So I wonder if it'll be something that catches on. There's a handful of recruits on it. Caleb Wilson is one up now. Caleb Wilson apparently is going to announce next week. Are we gonna get him? It's looked good the whole way for a long time, and then every once in a while his story will pop up. The North Carolina is in the mix. It's like, is that a smoke screen or is he really having second thoughts? In my brain? I'm still pretty confident. I haven't heard anything that's changed recently. I think the Tomline. He was put it out today. I don't know if we have the exact date or anything yet, but it's it's around the corner, and I'm feeling good about it. I thought that for a long time. 00:29:16 Speaker 6: Got a little scuttle butt on Caleb Wilson. 00:29:18 Speaker 4: Uh oh, here we go, Shandon. It's not I don't think that's so you don't think so this is not scoop? All right, scuttle butt. 00:29:26 Speaker 2: That Caleb Wilson has already agreed to his NIL deal with Kentucky. But he may have done that North Carolina. He may have got his NIL deal in place at all these schools, but he's definitely got the deal in place with. 00:29:36 Speaker 4: So you but now that sounds like scoop? 00:29:39 Speaker 5: Is it scoop or scuttle butt that he has his deal in place with Kentucky? 00:29:42 Speaker 6: I would say, scoop. 00:29:45 Speaker 4: Okay, so you're. 00:29:50 Speaker 6: So here, But like I said, he may have this deal in place with all these schools. He might, Yeah, but. 00:29:55 Speaker 4: You're scooping that he has his inn il deal set with Kentuck. Yes, all right, Yeah, there you go. Ryan Lemon, when he's confident usually correct. Yeah. 00:30:05 Speaker 2: I'm just hoping he's consistent, and I don't know, I don't know if that makes any difference in him picking Kentucky. 00:30:10 Speaker 6: Right, but they've got any idea of dealing agreement in place? 00:30:13 Speaker 4: All right, who's up next, Derek? Derek, go ahead, Derek. 00:30:17 Speaker 12: What's up? Guys? 00:30:18 Speaker 4: What's going on? 00:30:19 Speaker 12: Are you there? 00:30:20 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:30:21 Speaker 12: Not a whole lot. I wanted to make a comment. I'm so glad that Cal's not here this year. And uh, you know, how miserable would we be right now if he was our coach? And our record would probably be seven losses right now? And I want to tell you a little story that this summer I went to a man's camp for church or retreat and there was about thirty Arkansas guys in August, and they were pounding their chest and they were giving, and they were jebbing all the Kentucky people about how great they were going to be and how stupid we were and how we ran him off, and uh, it was miserablement. I can't wait for next dog. I can't wait for him that. 00:31:04 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean when you so, what is a man's camp? 00:31:09 Speaker 12: Uh, it's just we're a bunch of Christians from uh. 00:31:14 Speaker 5: Or something like that. Okay, gotcha. Yeah, all right, cool, Well, I appreciate the call. You will certainly have something to say to them. This year, there were a lot of Arkansas fans puffing their chest. But you know what, when you puff your chest, you have to be ready when somebody comes and puts a pin in it and de flights it. 00:31:30 Speaker 7: There's a video going around. It's mostly college kids because the language is very vulgar. But I mean they are just dancing on Kentucky about how they're They're bragging about being NBAU and taking the goat and look at them. 00:31:40 Speaker 4: Now, can I give you some more shows? 00:31:42 Speaker 6: Yes, coach love coach. 00:31:45 Speaker 7: We just played the team in basketball, but we. 00:31:47 Speaker 6: Did Minnesota State coach. 00:31:48 Speaker 4: Do you remember who coaches assistant was the dumb guy? 00:31:52 Speaker 6: Vandyke's brother. 00:31:53 Speaker 4: So that's one of the young dumb guy what was his character? Starts with the d right dabber dobber, Well done, give me a break? 00:32:01 Speaker 6: Give me a Break's a good one. 00:32:03 Speaker 4: Do you know the woman that start didn't give me a break? 00:32:06 Speaker 6: I can see her face? 00:32:07 Speaker 4: Okay, but what's her name? Come on, now, you're doing well with it. 00:32:11 Speaker 6: I can't think of it now, Carter. 00:32:15 Speaker 2: Yes, I couldn't think of her name car silver Spoons, Ricky Schroeder. 00:32:20 Speaker 5: Ricky Schroder. Yes, that's how Alfonso with the Carlton dance. That's where he got to start. Do you what is everybody always say about silver Spoons? What was the coolest part of silver Spoons? 00:32:33 Speaker 6: The train? 00:32:33 Speaker 4: The train? He rode the train through the house. That was great. 00:32:38 Speaker 6: Right, well, I'm taking us back to our childhood. I love these shows. 00:32:41 Speaker 4: Yes, uh, two two seven? 00:32:44 Speaker 6: Well, I don't know that one two to seven? Amen? 00:32:48 Speaker 4: Did you not watch Saturday Nights with all the amen about the Black Church? 00:32:53 Speaker 2: I don't remember this one man? You were you guys are at home on Sunday nine. I'm out on dates on Saturday night, are you? 00:33:00 Speaker 7: I was watching Fraggle Rock at the time. 00:33:03 Speaker 4: How about Webster? Oh? 00:33:04 Speaker 6: Love Webster? 00:33:06 Speaker 5: And then of course Shannon knows alf growing pains. Yes, Charles in Charge. Yes, Punky Brewster, Yes, have you seen her lately? 00:33:18 Speaker 6: Chick just saying no, you're. 00:33:24 Speaker 5: Gonna make me have to stop going over this. If you're gonna sit here and talk about the Punky. 00:33:27 Speaker 4: Brewster Punky Brewster grew up, Let's go to break a five nine. 00:33:37 Speaker 5: Don Franklin Auto dot com. Do you remember Never Starts a Blossom? 00:34:01 Speaker 6: Never watched it? 00:34:02 Speaker 11: Anybody know the names of the stars, but I am Ballack. 00:34:07 Speaker 4: And then who was on that show? 00:34:10 Speaker 12: Who? 00:34:12 Speaker 6: Oh yeah, Joey Lawrence. 00:34:13 Speaker 4: Joey Lawrence, well done. 00:34:18 Speaker 6: Well, I didn't know if he said that. 00:34:20 Speaker 5: A lot of younger people have no idea what we're talking about. Well, take a break, right back and. 00:34:24 Speaker 4: Scar facts of life, facts of life. There's a time you gotta grow, you gotta show you. 00:34:33 Speaker 6: Know facts of life. Yes, facts of life. 00:34:37 Speaker 4: In the world never sees what a great you believe in? What you believe? If I'm not okay, I just thought of something. 00:34:47 Speaker 6: What George Clooney on that show for a while for for yes, yes he was. 00:34:52 Speaker 5: Now there are people who got big stars like George Clooney started on facts life. Leonardo DiCaprio started on Growing Pain, Growing Pain. 00:35:00 Speaker 4: He was like, he lived upstairs. 00:35:02 Speaker 5: I don't remember why, what the reason was he lived there, but he lived upstairs. Those are two major actors. Start on really bad television shows. 00:35:11 Speaker 6: Yeah, really great television. 00:35:12 Speaker 5: Show eighty seven. Little piece of news we didn't get to. The portal has changed for college football. They are now moving the date that you can transfer back until after the bowl games, so there will be a ten day period after the semi finals. So it'd be like right now they will they're moving a ten day period after the semifinals would be the only times you can get in and out of the portal, which means before that you can't do it, and the teams will only have ten days. And really it's better for everybody except the two teams playing in the National Championship, because the two teams playing in the National Championship will both have to get their portal. 00:35:51 Speaker 4: Class and get ready for the National Championship. 00:35:54 Speaker 5: But ten days and they're switching it to January, and basically, you know, some schools are already in session and you'll just have to start late. But it's a good idea, I mean, I think this is good. The hope is that you don't get all. 00:36:06 Speaker 4: These opt outs for bowls like you've had these last few years. 00:36:10 Speaker 7: Yeah. I mean, it's been almost two months season since the season ended, and it feels like the portal stuff has been so fast paced over the course of two months, and now we're just gonna. 00:36:19 Speaker 5: Yeah ten I mean literally, they will have to enter the portal and decide where they're going in ten days. 00:36:25 Speaker 7: And you know, these schools and players won't talk to each other before that ten day went to use. I mean, you're gonna have to be ready as soon as that date. 00:36:32 Speaker 5: I'm sure they'll probably talk at least a little bit, but that's I think that's probably I think that's a good change. 00:36:38 Speaker 4: I think that'll make it easier. 00:36:39 Speaker 2: I definitely think the change moving it where they have, you know, after the all the all the bowl games is definitely must needed. But I think they should have expanded more than ten days. These kids, if you're four. 00:36:50 Speaker 4: Schools, the semesters start at these colleges. 00:36:53 Speaker 5: Yeah, So like part of the reason they have to do ten days is you know some colleges that will have been in session for a week or two and you actually do have to get these people enrolled. So I think they felt like the ten days was the amount of time where you could get enrolled at every school if you needed to do it. 00:37:08 Speaker 7: Ecatucky's still trying to add to its roster right now and it's January sixteenth. I mean, we can't pull the Big Z move with every player and just let them start school. 00:37:15 Speaker 4: You know two months out. That was amazing with Big Z, Like he started what like mid October? 00:37:24 Speaker 7: I mean he said down for the midterm. 00:37:26 Speaker 5: Yeah, that was that was, you know, next to the Randolph Morris facts. That was one of the bigger ones. I think we pulled in a long time. 00:37:32 Speaker 3: Who's next, Senda, get done. 00:37:34 Speaker 4: Sindy, get done? How are you? 00:37:37 Speaker 10: I'm doing great. I had no had now clothe that Ryan wanted to be mayor of Lexington? Is that true? 00:37:43 Speaker 4: He does? I mean he is. 00:37:45 Speaker 5: He's taken some stances that will make it hard for him, like that he wants to tear down all of Nicholsville Road to get rid of the traffic. 00:37:51 Speaker 4: But nevertheless he does. I think at some point what to be mayor? 00:37:55 Speaker 10: Well, what's really cool about that right now, guys, is I'm at the Kentucky Leagua Cities Conference at Embassy Lexington, and all the mayors and all the city councilmen through the whole state of Kentucky is right here right now with us. 00:38:07 Speaker 4: Well, there you go, Rian, you should go start. 00:38:09 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just gonna show up right now running pants and hoodie and just kind of walk around, meet and greeting, shake some hands. 00:38:15 Speaker 10: Yeah, well you'll be official member. 00:38:17 Speaker 6: Well. 00:38:18 Speaker 10: The reason why I was calling, though, guys, is I'm kind of not upset. I'm kind of heard about all the stuff that's going on with cal the losing of the games, the way that the fans, now his own fans have done turned on him right now, and I'm just reaching out to all the UK fans is that when he comes here to Kentucky, that we don't give him a hard time, that we just welcomed me in. I'd be like a big brother to him. And I mean, you know, he's still a man at the end of the day, and I imagine what he's going through. 00:38:47 Speaker 4: It's gotta be kind syndicate. 00:38:50 Speaker 5: I get what you're saying, But when you say imagine what he's going through, the dude is making eight or nine million dollars a year, Like I'm sorry for him that it's probably difficult, but like he'll be all right. You know, when you talk about what people are going through, there's a lot of people going through a lot harder things than cal So, like. 00:39:06 Speaker 4: Why I get what you're saying, Like, I he'll be fine. 00:39:10 Speaker 5: You know, he made decision. He can also leave. It's not like he's in a job that he can't get out of. If he wants to leave, he can, So, you know, I know what it feels weird for people to feel like they do because we had so many good memories with him. But I also think, and I appreciate the call. 00:39:29 Speaker 6: A lot of. 00:39:29 Speaker 5: People don't realize what the last two or three years were like. Think about it, Think about how many people left that staff in that office, and how many really good people feel like they just couldn't be around it anymore. 00:39:47 Speaker 4: And then no offense. Look at who followed him there. Those are the only people who couldn't do anything else. I mean, like like it was not there are a lot of people that have a reason feel like they feel. Now. 00:40:01 Speaker 5: I'm not saying that means we should wish ill on him. I don't think you should do that for anyone, but Drew, I get it. 00:40:09 Speaker 7: And have a nice life. But I just want you to lose basketball games. 00:40:12 Speaker 4: You know. 00:40:12 Speaker 7: I wish you good health, he too, family good, Yeah, you know, everything, hope is good. I just want you to lose basketball games. It's basketball. You'll be right, yeah, you know. 00:40:21 Speaker 5: Pat Kelsey seems like a great guy, seems like I bet if he came here, he and I would get on really well. I want him to lose every single time he plays, and I hope he is sad after every game. 00:40:32 Speaker 4: That's sports. 00:40:34 Speaker 2: Caliperry could have just stepped away and not coached anybody, but he chose to coach one of our rivals in our conference that we play every year. Of course we're gonna come after him when he comes in, but we are. 00:40:45 Speaker 4: Thankful for that. 00:40:46 Speaker 7: Yes, John Tyson should be the why on February. 00:40:48 Speaker 6: First, he should. 00:40:49 Speaker 4: What if we did that? What if we showed his that would be really mean. But if when we came to the why, we just showed a picture of John Tyson, like had the Tyson thing and he's the W or. 00:41:00 Speaker 7: Maybe we just spelled Tyson. We have our wife be the right after the tea instead of spelling Kentucky. 00:41:04 Speaker 5: I mean that would be that'd be pretty mean. But who's next? Rihann and I got about a minute go ahead. 00:41:11 Speaker 4: My boyfriend loves this podcast. 00:41:13 Speaker 9: So can you say hey Ethan? 00:41:15 Speaker 4: Hey Ethan? 00:41:17 Speaker 1: Okay, thanks bos. 00:41:22 Speaker 4: All right now I'm done. I can't ever do that, An. I we're just gonna call and say say hey Ethan. I'm not gonna be able to do that.
