We got some more coming, but you did. 00:01:52 Speaker 4: You've done some good change. And then tomorrow's media Day. Excited for media football Media Day to get the uh is it gonna be nine hundred? 00:02:00 Speaker 5: So I hope Usually I am very excited about it. I hate saying I'm excited for football. And then people twisted into you know, I'm drinking kool aid and I think they're gonna be great. But I'm just excited about getting out to Krogerfield on Saturdays. There's an open practice fan day. I'm just excited about seeing the team. And that's all hits us Tomorrow. 00:02:16 Speaker 4: Well, here's what I'm excited about. Some fun times and Cincinnati. Last night, Yeah, I don't you know, I know not most people listening probably aren't Reds fans. That's okay, you'll deal with it. Last night. I've had season tickets since two thoy and nineteen and the Reds have sucked the entire time, went to playoffs one year, played a one game playoff against the Braves and didn't score. That's been my history since i've had. 00:02:42 Speaker 2: At your pinnacle. 00:02:44 Speaker 4: This was last night. Was awesome real, Oh, first of all, biggest mid week series crowd they've had since twenty sixteen for these three games. Yeah, last night not full, but close show. Hate people everywhere. I mean there were a lot of Dodgers fans. There are a lot of Reds fans too. There were a lot of dogs. There was sho Hey, you don't, I don't know, you don't get a sense of how popular he is until that, Like, I mean, I don't think I've ever been to a game that had more jerseys of I mean I've seen like when again when the Yankees and Cubs will be a lot of fans of those teams, but I don't think I've ever seen one player's jersey as much as I saw show hey last night. They must make so much money in merchandise on him, you know, they have to write yeah, I mean, think of all the fans he has back home, throw in Japan. Yeah, and then you do this like he's hard to replicate with anyone else. No, I mean, no wonder they paid him five hundred million dollars right he pitches, Even though he didn't pitch particularly great, there was just like a buzz, you know, when he comes out there, he walks. I don't know if he does this on purpose, but Shannon, he walked the entire length of the field by himself. And I looked around and every person in there was taking pictures, even me. I mean, what am I gonna do with that picture? 00:04:05 Speaker 3: Show it to your kids one day? 00:04:09 Speaker 4: Here he is on my phone. And then when you watched him pitch, he has a crazy you know sitting where I do that you can see the curveballs right, His curveball is ridiculous. But uh, game was two to two and then the eighth inning so exciting all right, top of the eighth to two, Dodgers get two guys on case Sam Moule stinks our picture and we bring in the scuzz Bucket. I love the scuzz bucket with his long hair. And they bring him into like a Shannon the Dude rock song. It's like he comes in there and gets them both out scream and then uh, Spencer Steer hit a ball that looked like it would be a home run and he robbed it but then dropped it and they got a triple, and it's it's the loudest I've heard it there. The only time I think it's been as loud, chaining is when you were there when Ellie got the cycle. Oh yeah, that's probably the only time, at least since I've been following the team that it was that loud, and I so much so. 00:05:06 Speaker 3: The Reds are the only team in Major League Baseball that haven't been swept. 00:05:09 Speaker 4: But I can't sweep. 00:05:10 Speaker 3: Are you prepared though, to be swept by the Atlanta Braves. 00:05:13 Speaker 4: That starts, well, I hope not. You're God, I gave Shannon my tickets tonight. You're going to cheer for the Reds. 00:05:19 Speaker 3: Right, absolutely not. 00:05:21 Speaker 4: Remember I've given you my tickets too. I think once before Ellie hit the cycle, when. 00:05:24 Speaker 3: You went that's right, it hits like the reverse curse. 00:05:27 Speaker 4: Maybe maybe that'll maybe half. There was there a little ks R curse for show hey yesterday. Yes there, well, do a whole little segment on show ay. And then he gets injured pitching and they said, might not pitch for the rest of the year. Now, may just be a hitter. 00:05:40 Speaker 5: When I saw that, uh, that little stretch where he just couldn't throw anything, I thought, either ks R curse or he has bet on the Reds one of the two because. 00:05:47 Speaker 4: He is too good to be throwing the way was when he cramped. 00:05:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, my first picture is better than his some of those last. 00:05:54 Speaker 4: Check the prom his last two pitch just went straight into the ground right like he did so he and then they took him out. And then I was listening on the radio last night, they said, may just say no more pitching for the rest of the year. 00:06:06 Speaker 2: Did he stay in the game as a hitter. He stayed in the game is in her because I wonder if they's like the Dodger fan leave. 00:06:11 Speaker 4: He got the last out. That was kind of what was exciting is that they you know, they had a runner on base to out show Hey comes up and uh, he gets the last out of the of the game. 00:06:21 Speaker 2: I'm glad you went. Could you do? That's kind of a history, you know, to see a guy that's gonna be remembered as one of the best ever. 00:06:25 Speaker 4: And then you know, I had strong opinions sharing and the trade deadline coming, they're making trays. I'm I'm evaluating them with my knowledge of the They got some guy named Key Brian, not Brian, but Key Brian, and Uh. I was very excited because every time I've seen a reds Pirate scheme that dude has has killed us. He's killed us every time I see him. Here comes Key. He's the only hitter they had. So when I saw we were getting him, I'm like, yes, that dude's awesome. Here's what I didn't realize. He doesn't hit against anyone but the Reds. He's hit four hundred against the Reds and he hits like two tens and against for the rest of the league. But here's what I'm gonna here's what I'm gonna telling myself. He likes our park. 00:07:13 Speaker 2: Oh that's it. 00:07:14 Speaker 4: You see what I'm saying. He likes our parks. So he's been waiting to come back to this park. There's a comfort there that stats don't show. He exactly he likes. He likes the ambiance. 00:07:24 Speaker 3: I think he likes the pers more than anything. 00:07:26 Speaker 4: Okay, that's not what I want to hear, but he but he So he's gonna And then they got last Friday night, I went and watched him play the Rays and this raised pitcher. He pitched pretty good, and I and I heard them somebody say on the radio, oh, he might be traded, and I thought, what would be nice if we got him? And then we got him by him too, So I actually know the two players that they they got. 00:07:47 Speaker 2: Yeah, kept seeing they were making some moves last night, so they're not giving up there, you know, in the playoffs. 00:07:52 Speaker 4: So I like Key Brian. Everybody goes always the worst hitter in baseball. He can't be worse than Connor. Joe Well, he's a really like a old glove. Guys, the best defender in basement. My understanding is you all need bets at the buddy's the worst hitter. And then the picture that they got. I heard him say on the radio, Okay, there's good news and bad dud. They go good news. He gives up the fewest walks of any starting pitcher in the league, and I was like, that's what I like to hear. 00:08:20 Speaker 2: That's bad news. 00:08:21 Speaker 4: He gives up the most home runs, but luckily they're all solo shots because there's no walks on bays, so that's good. Maybe. Yeah, he's a fresh start. 00:08:33 Speaker 2: Yes, the guy, the guy from the parties he had third basement. 00:08:36 Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, which means we can get rid of Connor Joe. I just he makes me so bad. But exciting night. And now you got the series against the Braves. You're wearing a Braves jersey. They got the NASCAR game Saturday. Are you guys? Are you excited about the Nascar? We probably won't get to talk about tomorrow because it's media day. Are you excited about the NASCAR? 00:08:55 Speaker 6: Garry? 00:08:56 Speaker 4: Kind of like with Kentucky football. 00:08:57 Speaker 5: I'm very excited about this Braves Red series with expectations to lose every game, but I'm excited to follow and watch you all could. 00:09:04 Speaker 4: End our our season. Like if you were to sweep us, that probably would do us in. 00:09:08 Speaker 5: Have you seen where the Braves are in the standing? 00:09:12 Speaker 3: It would only be fitting. We've heard about the Summer of Elle all summer long and how the Braves ended the Summer of La. 00:09:18 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, we kind of need to win to a three at least one. If we were to lose all three, it's probably over. So you all could end the summer of ally. I asked that you not, but you could. I'm ready to tank. 00:09:29 Speaker 5: I'm ready to just lose out where I think we're The Rockies are by far the worst, but we're not. 00:09:35 Speaker 3: Sus now have more wins than the Atlanta Braves. 00:09:38 Speaker 4: That year, eighty six thousand people will be at baseball. 00:09:42 Speaker 3: Do you see the overhead shot of that field? 00:09:45 Speaker 2: Amazing? 00:09:45 Speaker 3: You could just PLoP a major League baseball field in the middle of a track. 00:09:48 Speaker 4: Yes, and how about eighty six that it will be the most people at a baseball game in the history of baseball. 00:09:54 Speaker 2: So what'd you decide to do? 00:09:56 Speaker 4: I don't know, you'd be a part of history. I'm gonna be a last minute decision. I mean, I want to go, but then I just think about that traffic and Bristol is not close, like it seems close, but it's not really close. It's kind of hard to get to just camp. You know, I'm not gonna can't. 00:10:15 Speaker 3: You can't pitch a tent. 00:10:17 Speaker 4: A guy next to me? Will you pitch this tent for me? And then just have him look at me like, I mean please, By the way, you have nice betting that I could that I could use. I'll give you a bud Wazer. I do think it's funny that they said they're going to put the people the pitchers as they come out of the game, put them in the car. I love that, and drive them around. Love it. Are they gonna do that if they pitch badly? Though, Hey, you just gave up six runs getting this car and drive around the track the cart. 00:10:50 Speaker 3: They should drive them out to the mound in the NASCAR car. That would be cool. 00:10:55 Speaker 4: So what else could you do to integrate NASCAR in baseball? I thought of this like a mountain visit. Making a pit stop. You get three seconds on. 00:11:08 Speaker 3: Your arm a little bit. 00:11:10 Speaker 4: Yeah, they all run out there. One of them gets on their knees and yeah, yeah, have you seen the helmets. No, they're wearing advisors. No, they're not wearing The helmets are cool. They have like they look like Nascar helmets that big. I mean they're not they don't put it over their face, but like the they got them painted and stuff like Nascar. 00:11:35 Speaker 2: I got that up in the break. Yeah, I'm gonna watch this because it can be kind of cool. 00:11:38 Speaker 4: I tried to buy one of the hats and they are so they were sold, They've already sold out of all the ones in Cincinnati. I tried to buy one of the checkerboard hats. 00:11:47 Speaker 2: That filled a dream. You want me to buy you one of those white hats, and I got literally the last one. Yeah, it's kind of a commemorative thing. 00:11:53 Speaker 4: Yeah. Well, I'm uh, I'm I'm looking forward to it. I may or may not go, but I do think it'll be cool. Thousand people baseball game, and you're right, that stadium looks insane. 00:12:04 Speaker 5: Yeah, you don't have to be a fan of a team to want to tune into this field of dreams. 00:12:09 Speaker 4: Game. Field of dreams. 00:12:10 Speaker 5: Uh, there's been like basketball has done some unique venues. When North Carolina Michigan State had that like aircraft carrier game or. 00:12:17 Speaker 4: Something like that. It's just you want to tune in for these unique things they're trying out. Yes, I think I have said for a long time I think we should play one basketball game. Uh inkroger Field? 00:12:27 Speaker 2: I agree? 00:12:27 Speaker 4: Do you do you think that would work? 00:12:30 Speaker 7: Oh? 00:12:30 Speaker 4: Yeah, kiss, Kentucky fans would if Kentucky played a game in Kroger Field? Could we fill it up? It feels a good game. The cheap tickets up top, just to just to get them up there. But I mean, I think we could do it. I mean, honestly think if Kentucky were to Let's say we played one of the exhibition games. Let's say that game against Georgetown or Purdue, was it Kroger Field. Wouldn't that be awesome? Don't you think it would sell out? 00:13:00 Speaker 2: I think it would be great. And if it was Purdue, I think it would sell out. 00:13:03 Speaker 4: You didn't it would? 00:13:04 Speaker 3: I mean exhibition game, I don't know, regular season versus Duke Yes, yes, but then. 00:13:10 Speaker 4: The execution, I think you'd be scared to play a game that matters outside because there'd just be a lot But yeah, win and there'd be just things to get in the way. But if you play the game that I think. I don't think they could do it every year, but I think if you had a one time exhibition game in Kroger Field, I do think you could sell it out. 00:13:30 Speaker 5: I think it could to up top. It would need to be like five dollars just to start to take it off dollars. Yeah, and then the tailgating you could do and make a whole day. 00:13:39 Speaker 4: Be so much fun. Now. I mean, honestly, if you played a basketball game there and you were willing to use the field, you can have seventy five Yeah, if you wanted. 00:13:48 Speaker 2: To bleacher seats on the field. 00:13:50 Speaker 4: Yeah. But I think in this world of where they have to get revenue wherever they can, that is something they could do that I think would be as. 00:14:01 Speaker 2: I thinking, for a good game this fan base is with the expectations going into this season, they would pack it for a Purdue exhibition or. 00:14:07 Speaker 4: If they played Perdu at Kroger Field. 00:14:10 Speaker 2: Think we'd be packed. 00:14:11 Speaker 4: You're right, you'd have to make some tickets really cheap. But then what I'd say is what I'd say is like one of our big donors, you know, let's say tickets were five bucks apiece. Well, forget that. If they made them five bucks apiece, I'd buy a thousand and give them away. Check school groups, big groups. You could just make it. 00:14:31 Speaker 5: To where it was a ton of fun for people, and those seats would be very bad that far away with if the court so yeah, so. 00:14:37 Speaker 4: Cheap, You've got the trons that you could see that get people getting in. That's what I'm saying. 00:14:41 Speaker 5: You couldn't outprice people up that high for that game, So make it very cheap and just try to get a re seat full. 00:14:46 Speaker 4: So I think they ought to do it. That's my statement for the day. Hey, if I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven, it's Ask Anything Thursday. We will take your calls and questions. It is Kentucky Sports right ulner back Tekey Sports Radiowa. If I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven, text machine is seven seven two seventy seven four five two five four What person rights, Matt, ask anything question? Do you think people should be allowed shouldn't be allowed to plead the fifth in a trial? Well, it isn't the constitution, so yes, they should be allowed. That was one of the fundamental rights of that you shouldn't do you know what it means to plead the fifth? 00:15:20 Speaker 2: Well, you have your constitutional right not to say anything. 00:15:23 Speaker 4: There you go, well done, I stated a holiday. How many amendments? Do you know? What's the first amendment? 00:15:30 Speaker 2: Uh? Thou shalt not kill? 00:15:32 Speaker 4: That's the amendment. That's ten commandment, the first. I think you know the first amendment, don't you? 00:15:38 Speaker 2: Freedom of the press, and freedom of speech and freedom of religion. 00:15:42 Speaker 4: Look at this guy. What's the second amendment? Right to bear arms? Right to bear arms? What's the third amendment? Very rarely in vote? Uhh, third amendment almost like literally never invoked. 00:15:57 Speaker 2: You should never put a tomato on a sandwich. 00:15:59 Speaker 4: Okay, don't have don't be funny. I'm asking you questions. 00:16:02 Speaker 2: I don't know the third event. 00:16:03 Speaker 4: Okay, what about you. I don't think I know the third one. I know a lot of them. Do you know the third Amendment? It's a hard one. Fourth is the you know the fourth is like people least can't come in your house out. 00:16:13 Speaker 3: War quartering soldiers, quartering. 00:16:18 Speaker 4: Soldiers shank you. You do not have to house a soldier. 00:16:24 Speaker 2: That's in the constitution. 00:16:25 Speaker 4: Yes, if a soldier comes and knocks on your door. 00:16:29 Speaker 3: You don't have to and says I. 00:16:32 Speaker 4: Want to live in your house, you do not have to do it. 00:16:35 Speaker 2: Well, something that hasn't really stood up to the test of time. 00:16:38 Speaker 3: That like a war thing. 00:16:39 Speaker 4: Maybe I know it was a it was at the British. The British during you know, during the Revolutionary War, would would force people to house them. 00:16:48 Speaker 2: That had to be a thing, or they wouldn't put it in the constitution. 00:16:50 Speaker 4: I mean it was the third most important thing. Yeah, they're like, we are not letting people come stay in your house. 00:16:58 Speaker 5: Not a lot going on in the late seventeen hundreds, a few more problems than we have right now. 00:17:02 Speaker 4: That's exactly right, One person says Matt. Louisville fans are mad they're picked fifth in the acc Should they be No, of course they shouldn't be. I mean Louisville's okay. I don't know who's ahead of them, but Clemson should be ahead of them. 00:17:16 Speaker 2: Of course him. 00:17:17 Speaker 4: You beat him last year and finished ahead of them. Miami is probably very good. They spend all that money. What's the other one? 00:17:24 Speaker 5: Florida stated them, they're supposed to be improved to there you go, So okay, they're fifth I mean, Vince can't even put his sweat pants on. 00:17:33 Speaker 6: Is he doing? 00:17:36 Speaker 4: Listen? I love Vince, but Vince does not want to be in Louisville. I don't care what anybody says. He put his sweatpants on inside out. I don't know how you do that, because there's a huge Adida's logo. It's not a small Adida's logo. Have you seen the picture he has his sweatpants on inside out? First of all, physically, how do you get them on? Like? How do you get your Probably not that different, but you got it. 00:18:04 Speaker 5: It's gotta be obvious that your pants are poets. The pockets are now exposed, like the sewing of the logo is what you see on the outside. 00:18:14 Speaker 2: I thought about this trying to give him an excuse, and this is the only thing I could come up with. 00:18:17 Speaker 4: Excuse for wearing your pants inside out. 00:18:19 Speaker 2: He spilt something on the outside and he didn't want to walk around all day. 00:18:22 Speaker 4: Ask you a question, you know, Vince, We love Vince. Yeah, do you think the man's worried about spilling stuff? 00:18:29 Speaker 2: Maybe it was like something really bad all over his pants, and he'd said, I can't walk around with this all day. 00:18:34 Speaker 4: They're black pants. Though they're black pants, you can have lots of stuff on black pants. 00:18:39 Speaker 3: So do you think he was aware? First of all, he can't have. 00:18:43 Speaker 4: Been aware, because why would you choose to wear your sweatpants? 00:18:47 Speaker 3: So maybe he was late. He was in a hurry. He grabbed the first thing he could, fed off the floor, put it on, didn't realize until he got to practice. 00:18:54 Speaker 4: Now it's you're being very nice. 00:18:56 Speaker 3: I've done it before. 00:18:57 Speaker 4: You've worn your sweatpants inside out. 00:18:59 Speaker 3: Now, fans, But I've warren other things inside out and backwards, like a shirt fourn a shirt backwards and the criss cross. I didn't even realize it, So it goes you was your short inside out and bike right. 00:19:11 Speaker 4: I don't know inside out it's different. 00:19:13 Speaker 5: But one time, one time in junior pro basketball, we were warming up and I ripped my tearway pants off and was not wearing my shorts on it. 00:19:19 Speaker 4: So sometimes sometimes things can happen. I can understand that one. Anyway. I think that's symbolic for Louisville's football season. Inside out sweatpants. I'm just telling fifth place they should be lucky to be in fifth place. First of all, I always hear about how powerful the ACC is. Well, if the ACC is so powerful, maybe you deserve to be in fifth. 00:19:41 Speaker 5: Pointyeah, they're actually ahead of Florida State and they got first place votes. 00:19:44 Speaker 4: Georgia Tech is fourth. Well, I could see being a little fit Georgia Tech. But George didn't Georgia Tech. Was it last year? They played George like the final play or something. So yeah, eight five to nine to eighth, twenty two eighty seven? Hunter? What's up? Hunter? 00:20:01 Speaker 8: Hey, Matt, I got two suggestions for you. First one, you also really come to Barkstown. We have a Don Franklin. Probably be an easy get for you all to set up and we show up for everything. 00:20:15 Speaker 4: Well you do in Marstown. You're right, you get great crowds. That's one of the better towns for crowds. Go ahead. 00:20:23 Speaker 8: I'm probably too younger, remember. 00:20:24 Speaker 7: Y'all been here. But anyway, Second thing. 00:20:28 Speaker 8: You're all the NFL show. I like Drew's suggestions, but I have a better one with Matt and Drew. 00:20:38 Speaker 4: It's not bad. It does rhyme, but uh, I appreciate the call. It does right. Appreciate the call. I got a lot of suggestions. I think Cover zero is the best one I've seen. We have the meeting today, I'm gonna bring that up as an idea. Now, though there's a bigger scandal than that, which is which is the suggestions that came from the NFL guy. They may have come from chat GPT, not may. If you put Matt Jones, Drew Franklin, NFL show, that's the exact things that came up. 00:21:16 Speaker 3: Nobody's using their brain anymore. It's all going to chat. 00:21:18 Speaker 4: G But this was this was an NFL guy's suggestion. 00:21:22 Speaker 2: Somebody's getting paid to do this. 00:21:24 Speaker 5: Chat GPT listener on ks board ask chat GPT and put a screenshot of what the top ten were, and it was Jones and for football it was all the ones you named. 00:21:34 Speaker 4: It was the Bluegrass Blitz. 00:21:36 Speaker 5: UK Andrew posted, our boy, Wow, I mean, Shannon, you got it least edit. 00:21:44 Speaker 3: I do you think nobody's gonna go back and check? 00:21:48 Speaker 4: Well? I mean, to be honest, I didn't. But then when you throw it out to the mask. Now, to be fair, he probably didn't think I was gonna say on the radio he'll be on that meeting today. Hopefully he doesn't know that I have kind of mocked his suggestions. But cover zero is a great one because there's you know, it's a double meaning. It's like something they do in football. We have zero ability to cover anything, and it's perfect. Someone suggested play to the nose whistle, which I laughed at that. I think that's very good for our aunts. Blanket coverage is a good backup plan. Why blanket cover because I just lay on the couch under blanket watch football day. 00:22:31 Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, we're able to make a logo where we're in recliners with blankets, just quarterback. 00:22:36 Speaker 4: I think cover zero is going to be the suggestion I take to them for the meeting today. And I'm gonna call the guy out and say, you got those from chat GPT. Let's be honest here. If we're gonna work together, you're gonna have to acknowledge you got those suggestions from chat GPT and we had to do our own. And we had to do our own. Now, if I'm nine two eight, twenty two eighty seven, ask anything, there's gonna be right back. KISR. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay now. 00:23:02 Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage here's Matt Jones. 00:23:07 Speaker 4: This is the new big Tyler Childer song. If there ever comes a time I got rabies, you'd be high on my biting list. It's a great line, great line. That's a great line. It's probably one of my two favorite songs on the new album. So he did a pop up show yesterday at Dinosaur World in Cave City. 00:23:24 Speaker 2: Saw that. 00:23:25 Speaker 4: How about that right next to the Interstate. Apparently you could see him as you drove down the Interstate. He was standing next to that big dinosaur. That where he did it. 00:23:33 Speaker 5: Yes, he said, welcome to the most magical place on the side of the highway. 00:23:38 Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right, so and there. I haven't seen a video of him performing yet, but he was apparently standing there like with the dinosaur next to him, by the big dinosaur, singing. The band was singing right there. They announced it in the morning. You had to be on his like VI or his fan list or whatever. And then they just pulled it out in the Dinosaur World. 00:23:59 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:24:00 Speaker 4: Uh, you know we've done that when they're also be there. So we kind of we kind of paved the way. 00:24:05 Speaker 5: I put some videos on KSR that were shared on like a barren County so you can go to ks R and see a few of them. 00:24:11 Speaker 3: Is he dressed like the guy from Jurassic Point? 00:24:14 Speaker 4: He dressed the guy from Jurassic Dress. 00:24:19 Speaker 5: But anyway, uh, I caught wind of it late the night before and couldn't go. But I thought if there's would have been the best thing ever. 00:24:28 Speaker 4: It was supposed to be a secret in the night before. Everyone in barones like Tyler's coming to Dinosaur World. So if I, if Chile wasn't there, I had gone. I think it would have been awesome. You had to be in his thing. 00:24:38 Speaker 5: It's called the Hickman Holler Hunting Club where you get emails and something went out late Tuesday night like surprise, and it's just too late. 00:24:44 Speaker 2: To get it pull off. 00:24:45 Speaker 4: I love it. I think that's that's very very cool, and for people who got to go, that's really exciting. And the Dinosaur World of all places. 00:24:53 Speaker 2: Yeah, kind of an iconic place. You know, we all kind of laugh at it, but yet it kind of everybody everybody in the state knowing is exactly where it is. 00:25:00 Speaker 4: If we beat Louisville this year, Vince Merrill will have to delete his Twitter. It might be true. Shannon it would be brutal, wouldn't. 00:25:10 Speaker 3: I tell you what? 00:25:11 Speaker 4: Man? Can I tell you? I'm gonna give you a little hit. So we're we we are naming all of our menu items that we can after UK stuff. So, uh, you know, we had the Chili gillspie, but we're adding the klubby Smith. Yes, love that, but we're thinking about adding we have a burger that's gonna be like everything on it and like an egg and all that. And we were gonna call it the grown Man Burger, but we're gonna spell grown g r o. 00:25:39 Speaker 2: A N. 00:25:41 Speaker 4: Shout out? Why not for Vince. I don't know if people will get it, but those that do get it, there it do get it. It's gonna be a grown man. And then on the menu and the description, just say for the big dogs, that's a good idea. 00:25:56 Speaker 3: This is what I do. 00:25:57 Speaker 4: This is this is what you do. You're made for this. 00:25:59 Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm yeah, good at many things, but PINNs and stuff like that. That's that's my thing. 00:26:03 Speaker 4: Then burger and the explanation every where, every word's got to be misspelled to some extent, every single one up them. Let's go to Chief Smith. Go ahead, Hey, Matt, this. 00:26:15 Speaker 9: Is Keith in Ohio. I was just wanting to call and give Luke Fitts a shout out. He turned me on to Kentucky fandom. I grew up being an Ohio State fan for thirty years and then in twenty twenty became a UK fan. 00:26:29 Speaker 4: So it's been a do you enjoy it? So you've been an Ohio State fan? But have you enjoyed your UK experience? That's not a bad duo again, because you're good at both sports. 00:26:41 Speaker 10: I love it, every minute of it. I hang on every every minute of football and basketball. 00:26:47 Speaker 4: Well good, I'm glad. 00:26:50 Speaker 10: Yeah, And I grew up I was like, nag, I love Ohio State football, but I can't see Ohio State football and Kentucky basketball. 00:26:59 Speaker 4: That just so you now, if Kentucky were to play Ohio State in a bowl game, which is very unlikely, do you you would cheer for Would you cheer for Kentucky or would you cheer for Ohio State. 00:27:12 Speaker 9: Cats all day? 00:27:16 Speaker 4: Well? Shout out to whoever your friend was that got you to do that, and appreciate you listening, chief, YEP, I appreciate it, appreciate the call. 00:27:24 Speaker 6: There you go. 00:27:25 Speaker 4: That's kind of exciting. Isn't it. Probably not many people that would commit to making that switch, But how many people switch from Ohio State football to Kentucky football? But you know what, you can't you cannot accuse someone like that of being like a you know, no, this is somebody who that's a man of character right there, Ryan to make. 00:27:46 Speaker 2: A decision like because you know, we every time we go up to northern Kentucky, we hear those stories of those people that say they know a friend who loves Kentucky basketball but also Ohio State football. 00:27:55 Speaker 5: Is Aaron still in college basketball? Yeah, he's in Where did he go somewhere? Oh, it's escape in my brain, somewhere kind of south, I'll get it. Yeah, he's out of the third school now, so he left completely escape. 00:28:09 Speaker 4: But we don't know where he's gone. 00:28:10 Speaker 5: It'll it'll hit me, give me a minute, it'll come up here. Okay, I guess I could use my computer writ in front of me too. 00:28:15 Speaker 4: Yeah that feel. Yeah, he wasn't even Holly. I'm trying to think Aaron Bradshaw will be a junior because he was in DJ Wagner's class. Memphis, Memphis, Memphis, Okay, all right, Memphis, all right, let's go to Cam. Go ahead, Cam. 00:28:33 Speaker 7: Yeah, I had a suggestion for the new radio show. 00:28:37 Speaker 4: Okay, you know again, I'll let it. This will be the last one. But you you Cam, you get to do it right here. 00:28:43 Speaker 7: Okay, all right, don't feel special. Let's go with call it on the air. Okay, kind of a play on the coin toss. 00:28:54 Speaker 4: All right, I appreciate the call. Uh, but we don't take calls on the show, so I don't know that that would be a good but no, but we don't have to do no more suggestions. This is like, honestly, Drew was put in this world to make these jokes. Yes, Drew, Like literally, there's like three people that I know that I was saying this last night. If I ever got asked to like write a movie script or a TV show, there are five people in my friend group that I would make write the show. Drew, Tomlin, Turkey Hunter, Moseley, and Duncan. And that would be my comedy writing team. But honestly, Drew would be in charge of all pun related names. Thank you. 00:29:35 Speaker 5: Me and my idiot friends we practice every day in a group textas keep they are. 00:29:39 Speaker 4: They're too good at it. Corbyn, go ahead, Corbin. 00:29:43 Speaker 6: Hey, man, uh, I just had a recommendation for a spot that you should have a Friday show at all. 00:29:49 Speaker 4: Right, man, I think I think by the way, the key this is ask anything Thursday, just for the record, but go ahead. 00:29:58 Speaker 6: But this is just a recommendation, but you should come down to Carlisle, Kentucky on a Friday, and I could ask my dad because me and my dad listen to your show every day and we would hut you up with the best mill you've ever had. 00:30:09 Speaker 3: Where is Carlisle? 00:30:10 Speaker 4: Are you talking about? Isn't that Where is. 00:30:12 Speaker 6: That Nicholas County? 00:30:15 Speaker 7: It's about Hours County? 00:30:16 Speaker 4: Okay, yes, yes, yes, yes, Okay, I do know where that is now, gotcha. I've been to Nicholas County, and I appreciate the suggestion. We will do one more of the call in road shows. So you call and recommend Carlyle. Then I appreciate the call. I don't think I don't think we've done a show with Nicholas. 00:30:31 Speaker 2: Count say that I don't think we've ever been. 00:30:33 Speaker 4: Tonight that one of the biggest selling points is because before I retire, I want to have done a show in every count h And we're down to I think thirty five or forty that we haven't done, and so that would be nice to get one of them. You remember, did you do one when you were doing the book tour you hit Nicholas County? 00:30:50 Speaker 5: I did. 00:30:51 Speaker 4: There were a handful of places that I hadn't done shows like Mead County, Livingston County. I did it a few, but like I don't think we didn't. You know, Nichols County small, Yeah. 00:31:04 Speaker 2: I just know it because their girls team won the state basketball championship in the nineties. 00:31:08 Speaker 4: Get you you know everything? 00:31:09 Speaker 2: It was the eighties, close enough, Kim Nichols Long Dan Deacons. 00:31:15 Speaker 4: You just thought the girl's name also happened to be the county. 00:31:17 Speaker 2: It was Kis. 00:31:20 Speaker 4: You stay at Holiday and Express last night? No one thing notice. He gave three facts right there, none of which were true. Long days, warm nights, and cold cans in hand. That's what summer's all about. And how about cornbread hemp in few seltzers, big shout out by the way, You know Ram Paul does things. Who knew that in the last year he'd do more stuff I agreed with than ever. There's a new set of code words that football players are using in their interviews, and we're gonna give them to you, and then we're gonna see how many times they say them tomorrow. Okay, I'll tell you what they are. Okay, Welcome back in is Kentucky Sports Radio eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. Uh, folks writing in One person rights, Matt, Uh, have you heard from McDonald's people since your conversation the other day? 00:32:37 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:32:38 Speaker 4: Have you, Matt? No comment. 00:32:41 Speaker 3: Mc tribe, they'll push back. 00:32:43 Speaker 4: Okay, well, you know, I mean the one I go to. Still killing it, still doing well, still doing very well. One person rights, Matt. Have you talked to Vince since he left? Yes? Yeah, just for Louisville fans who who are always like saying I'm always I First of all, I've talked to Vince. I'll you know most of that. I'll just keep with he and I talking. It's been a positive he I don't think he likes that we make jokes, but he also understands that we have to make so he'll be like, why why you gotta say that? And I'll go because you're at Louisville. I told you this would happen. I told him in December. I was like, if you go to Louisville, we won't stop you sit on the air, You'll be little dog or whatever. Like I told him that. I'm also like, you know, he's moved to Louisville. I introduced him to Craig. I did like group text with a couple of big Louisville donors that I know, just so that he would know who they were. That like, I don't you know Louisville fans, may Man, just while I was trying to ruin a program, you don't even know. I want him to lose every game. But like, I mean, I knew somebody that was his that could be helpful to him. I was like, here's Vince, Here's blah blah blah. I hope you all lose every game, but good luck, love Vince. I know his wife, My wife knows her. 00:34:06 Speaker 5: I wish the best for him, except for the actual outcoming results of Louisll football. 00:34:10 Speaker 4: Because I hate when he wears sweatpants inside out. I'm going to make fun of him. I would make fun of you all in this room for wearing sweatpants inside out. If I walked in here with his sweatpants inside. 00:34:20 Speaker 3: Out, which is not too far fetch. 00:34:22 Speaker 4: It probably happened, we would never stop, Shannon, So of course I'm gonna make I mean, of course I'm gonna make fun of Vince. And I actually think me being friends with Vince drives Louisville fans even more crazy, like it really makes them, makes them insanely mad. 00:34:41 Speaker 5: Yeah uh, you mentioned earlier him deleting his Twitter, Like has he done much tweeting since he's been there. I feel like I haven't seen much because it would be hard to just suddenly. 00:34:50 Speaker 4: Flip your I'm not sure, but I mean our fans will never stop if we if we win, oh, I mean we won't because remember at Louisville when he was on the good side. He tweeted from the sideline before the game was over, talking trash. That's right, yes he did. I'm gonna make you a prediction, Vince will try at some point in his life to reconnect here. I don't know that means he'll coach here again, but I don't you think that probably happens. Yeah, he loves election. He loves it, got a lot of friends here. I also, as I take to say this, but I have what there is one person on the text machine. I do not know who they are that I just sends me pictures of Vince at restaurants in Louisville looking sad, and he always just says, you know, he wants to be back at Lexington. I don't know if that guy, if they should get a restraining order on him or what. But I think I think it's mostly because he goes to a what restaurant, But anyway, it is what it is. But like, we're gonna give him a hard time, and I told him that so he can't be upset about it. 00:36:03 Speaker 5: No, when that offer was in front of him, he had to consider that the fan base that he's been beloved for over a decade is going to start joking on. 00:36:09 Speaker 4: It's just the way it goes, all right. So the phrasing that they're using, Ryan is, I was watching interviews with players and I want to see if we hear this tomorrow. Okay, we're going to uh, we're going to count how many times they say discipline, right or urgency? 00:36:26 Speaker 2: Okay, those are the words buzzwords there. 00:36:30 Speaker 4: They are clearly words that have been told because discipline and urgency. So tomorrow when we have guests on here or when they're doing their press conference, I want to see disciplined and urgency. 00:36:41 Speaker 3: Now like ring a bell every time we hear one of those words like. 00:36:44 Speaker 4: Discipline, urgency. Those are the two words that are kind of coming. No one will say the word motivated. They have those people on the internet have completely scared anyone on UK football from saying motivate, which again I don't understand and they should embrace it. But it'll be interesting to see if they say motivated shaneon maybe you put an X, but they don't. They don't want to say. They don't want to say motivated. They do want to say disciplined. Gotta do that. That's good Calzada. 00:37:18 Speaker 5: He said the word motivated, but only to say that doesn't describe our locker room. It makes me think it's intentional about this. 00:37:24 Speaker 4: They are intentionally telling them do not say motivated? And what's wrong with being motivated? But part of me wants to see if I could say, would you say, if I were to give you two words to describe, are you either lackadaisical or motivated? Grateful as the other buzzwords? 00:37:43 Speaker 2: Grateful? 00:37:43 Speaker 4: All right, so that way you get that as a check too, shit, grateful, discipline, urgency. Also we have when we have Mark popon beautiful, beautiful, beautiful, extraordinary, elite. Let's go. Let's go to Alan. 00:38:02 Speaker 11: Go ahead, Alan, Hey, longtime listen. This is the first time caller with you, so it's an honor. Well, first of all, cover zero. That's a great word. It's a clever play on words. I think that's great by any day. Asking Thursday question to you is why did you never accept my core links email? About six or seven years ago when I tried to reach out to. 00:38:27 Speaker 4: You accept your what. 00:38:32 Speaker 11: It's called a core links email, I had a friend of mine reach out to you. I was going through a dark time. Your guys, show really gave me a lot of laps and lightened up my life, and I just wanted to reach out to you some way to thank you. 00:38:46 Speaker 1: Guys. 00:38:46 Speaker 11: I was in a position where I couldn't call on the phone, so I sent an email request to you. It's called core Links for the Federal Prison System. And my friend kind of explained my backstory. 00:38:57 Speaker 4: Well, I don't know. I like hundreds of emails, so I may not have seen it, but I would have accepted it if I saw it. And I do appreciate you saying that we could have all been it all been helpful. That means a lot. 00:39:14 Speaker 11: Yeah, So it's just me saying thanking you guys. You bring a lot of laughter, a lot of joy, and I'm just a big time a Wildcat fan and look forward to this on the days that I'm able to listen to you guys. 00:39:26 Speaker 4: Well, thank you very much and God bless you, and I hope things continue to improve. 00:39:32 Speaker 11: Thank you so much. 00:39:33 Speaker 4: I appreciate it. Yeah, and I'm glad he said that. Please understand, like if you, I try to respond to people, but I can't respond to everything. I either don't see it or something you know. I mean it's like anything. Sometimes you miss a text message on your phone, Now imagine getting all these emails and sometimes things go to your spam. So it's never personally. 00:39:54 Speaker 3: Can't believe you don't remember that email from twenty eight I don't. 00:39:57 Speaker 4: But it's never personal. Promise if I, if I, if I don't respond, now if if if Mario doesn't respond, it is personal. But for the rest of us, uh, it's it's not personal. 00:40:09 Speaker 6: J D. 00:40:09 Speaker 4: Go ahead, j D, hey man, what's up? 00:40:15 Speaker 6: Can you hear me? 00:40:16 Speaker 8: Okay? 00:40:18 Speaker 7: Second, So grown g R O A N. That's the motivational word for the season. 00:40:24 Speaker 4: Right, Well, it's good. It's it's it's to me. It's like you know, it's a good reference. 00:40:31 Speaker 7: It is a good reference. It's a great reference. And then, real quick, so I'm on the I'm on the bandwagon with Shannon Uh with six and six on the season. So my question for you today, really quick is how about we beat Louisville. We're five and six going into that game. Beat Louisville, go to a decent bowl game, and then we make the final four. What are your thoughts? 00:40:57 Speaker 4: Well, I mean, that's a heck of a year, I think, I mean, I think if you told me today, I appreciate the call. Kentucky is gonna go six and six in football, go to a bowl game and make the Final four. I'm gonna say, this is gonna be an awesome year in Kentucky Athletic. 00:41:08 Speaker 2: We're all taking that. Every UK fans taking that scenario. 00:41:11 Speaker 4: I mean, I think you have to take it because six and six to me, again, I hope I'm wrong, but six and six to me is like the best possible option in football. I hope I'm wrong, but you know, I mean, I'm trying to be realistic. And then football or basketball final four is always a great option. So yeah, you tell me I'm going six and six and going to the final four, Drew, I'm signing up for that tomorrow. 00:41:35 Speaker 5: Hadn't seen a final four in a long time, And like you, I'm happy with the Bowl appearance this year. However, looks whatever bowl. Just get to six wins and I'll call that a success. And then we're not even including the women's basketball team. Looks like they're gonna be stats. Yeah, baba, I think we're heading for a great Team's gonna be good. I mean, I think UK Athletics if we could just make the football decent. I think it's set up for a great overall year of UK athletics, but the football is the one, to me biggest question, and we'll see it's gonna be starting here very soon. He if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven a couple of the lines, and is asked, Ay, think Thursday, go over. The UK Hall of Fame has some new inductees and one of Mario's heroes had a tough day yesterday. 00:42:21 Speaker 4: That's next. Not ks are
