<v Speaker 1>Don't don't be bad. It's the Internet. You're busy. Let's <v Speaker 1>do this for November fourth, twenty twenty four. For the <v Speaker 1>next hour or so, let me help you sort through <v Speaker 1>the world of gaming on Game Mess Mornings Live with <v Speaker 1>Me Jeff Grubb. Today, Mario and Luigi Brothership reviews have dropped, <v Speaker 1>and a secret PS five pro feature has leaked. But <v Speaker 1>first please join me. Welcome to today's co host the <v Speaker 1>Game Mess Mornings. It's Emma Fife. Everybody, Emma, how are <v Speaker 1>you doing? <v Speaker 2>Uh? You know, I'm I'm all right. I'm alright, Grub. <v Speaker 3>It was, you know, a rough week last week, but <v Speaker 3>I'm here and happy to be talking about video games. <v Speaker 1>Yep. Same. Absolutely. We had a very successful Extra life <v Speaker 1>stream over the weekend that went very well. All hung <v Speaker 1>out a Dan raised a bunch of money, twice the <v Speaker 1>amount of money we raised the year before, so we <v Speaker 1>got the forty five thousand dollars to forty and fifty <v Speaker 1>dollars when it was all said and done. <v Speaker 2>Amazing. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, we punished in a variety of ways by everyone donating, <v Speaker 1>and we really appreciate it. It was. It was an <v Speaker 1>awesome time. I don't regret a second of it. It <v Speaker 1>was very memorable, although there are many things that happened <v Speaker 1>that I don't remember because so much stuff happened in <v Speaker 1>I don't know the eighteen nineteen hours we were streaming <v Speaker 1>or something like that, but yeah, it was. It was <v Speaker 1>an incredible time. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, I hear you have a new hair seign. <v Speaker 1>Kind of got a little bit of a mullet going now. Yeah, absolutely, <v Speaker 1>we'll see, We'll see how along that last. <v Speaker 3>I think that like you're kind of rocketed though, to <v Speaker 3>be honest, like it's working. <v Speaker 2>It looks nice. <v Speaker 1>That's not the worst thing to happen. I'll have to <v Speaker 1>go get it cleaned up a little bit. Let's just <v Speaker 1>say the gingerbread man that gave me the mullet was <v Speaker 1>not a professional hairstylist. <v Speaker 2>Got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, just get it cleaned up. <v Speaker 2>And I actually think it's working. <v Speaker 1>Yes, absolutely, yeah. I got sent to the noubs hole <v Speaker 1>many times. It was not a pleasant experience. I was <v Speaker 1>the only one sitting there to watch the entire thing, <v Speaker 1>which was a three thousand dollars donation from Joe Beezer, <v Speaker 1>and I got that, I think because I won Mario Party, <v Speaker 1>so my reward. <v Speaker 3>I'm sorry Dan Records never lost Mario Party on the internet, <v Speaker 3>not even. <v Speaker 2>In my presence. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, well he lost this time and I won, <v Speaker 1>and he was actually in the last two turns, got <v Speaker 1>sent for fifteen minutes into the Noobsole, so he didn't <v Speaker 1>even see the Indian Mario Party even though Joe Beezer <v Speaker 1>was working against us and was trying to help Dan. <v Speaker 1>Joe Beezer sent many of us into the noobs hole <v Speaker 1>and let Dan play against bots for several minutes. But <v Speaker 1>maybe the dumbest thing we did do was when the <v Speaker 1>clocks fell back for a daily savings time, we created <v Speaker 1>a save at what was at one am, and so <v Speaker 1>at two am when the clocks fell back two one <v Speaker 1>am again, we reverted Mario Party back one hour and <v Speaker 1>undid all of the play we did in that time. <v Speaker 1>And really it helped because I was doing terribly and <v Speaker 1>then we reverted the clocks and I started to win. <v Speaker 3>So that's kind of amazing that you were because like <v Speaker 3>just based on the time, you were able to revert <v Speaker 3>back to what it had been at that time. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, we just did. We did a safe state on <v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch Online. <v Speaker 2>And that's really cool. <v Speaker 1>It was it was a lot of fun. Yes, I <v Speaker 1>was in last place at the time of the reset, <v Speaker 1>so uh and and I won. That didn't make it <v Speaker 1>that much better. Still, it played way too much Mario party. <v Speaker 1>That was the worst thing that could have happened. But yeah, <v Speaker 1>it was an excellent time. Thank you everybody who donated. <v Speaker 1>Thank you everybody who gave, you know, one dollar to <v Speaker 1>three thousand dollars, everyone in between. It all helped it <v Speaker 1>all go, helped k you med. So thank you everybody <v Speaker 1>who came out for that. And if you just watched <v Speaker 1>as well, that was great too. Just thanks for hanging <v Speaker 1>out with us. It was a very good time. All right. <v Speaker 1>Let's explain what we do here most weekdays, I, Jeff Greb, <v Speaker 1>will help piece your gaming life back together. That includes <v Speaker 1>breaking news and maybe even some of our own original reporting. <v Speaker 1>For all these topics, I'll get the input of a <v Speaker 1>bona fide expert who will make me look smart. If <v Speaker 1>you are watching live on twitch welcome. You can always <v Speaker 1>listen to the show later on podcast feeds by searching <v Speaker 1>for Game mess Mornings, or find the RSS on giant <v Speaker 1>bomb dot com. You can also catch the show later <v Speaker 1>with chapters and timestamps on YouTube. Hello YouTube all right, <v Speaker 1>we have a lot to get into, so let's start <v Speaker 1>the morning mess with Mario and Luigi Brothership. Reviews are in. <v Speaker 1>I believe it's like covering around a seventy nine or <v Speaker 1>an eighty on Open Critic Right now over At Shaq News, <v Speaker 1>Ozzi Maha gave it a nine out of ten and <v Speaker 1>says Mario has ventured into a mass into massive worlds <v Speaker 1>before he's even served the cosmos across different galaxies. Rarely <v Speaker 1>has a world in any of his games, felt this connected. <v Speaker 1>Mario Luigi Brothership is a game about building bonds, the <v Speaker 1>kind that Mario shares with his cherished brother, Luke Kemp <v Speaker 1>at games Radar Plus gave it four stars, says despite <v Speaker 1>a few lurches here and there and some so so expiration, <v Speaker 1>Mario and Luigi Brothership offers an enjoyable voyage with smooth <v Speaker 1>sailing and a ponderful script that brings the laughs. It <v Speaker 1>has a new developer and an extra dimension, but the <v Speaker 1>same dedication to humor and brotherly love. Logan Plant at <v Speaker 1>ign meanwhile gave it a five out of ten and said, <v Speaker 1>apart from its great battle system, Mario and Luigi Brothership <v Speaker 1>is an incredibly disappointing revival that suffers from boring gameplay <v Speaker 1>and dialogue, a bloated runtime, shockingly bad performances, shockley bad <v Speaker 1>performance excuse me, and a fundamental misunderstanding of what made <v Speaker 1>the series great. <v Speaker 3>Wow, it feels like the last reviewer played a different game. <v Speaker 2>You know what It's like? Yeah, it's wild to me. <v Speaker 3>I don't know if you ever have the experience of <v Speaker 3>your like at a movie theater and you leave and <v Speaker 3>you hate the movie and every single person you interact <v Speaker 3>with as you're leaving. The screening of Star Wars Rise <v Speaker 3>of Skywalker is like I loved it, and I'm like. <v Speaker 2>You did I see a different that movie? <v Speaker 1>What are you talking about? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, exactly exactly so yeah, but. <v Speaker 2>But please continue. <v Speaker 1>Well yeah, so that's it for the reviews I wrote. <v Speaker 1>I wrote down here I get a chance I got. <v Speaker 1>I was able to get a copy early and I <v Speaker 1>played a little bit of it, and I I see <v Speaker 1>where Logan's coming from. I think that the game itself. Listen, <v Speaker 1>the combat is good, and that's what Logan points out <v Speaker 1>is like, that's fun boy. It's like I wish that <v Speaker 1>combat could just be what it's like in the paper. <v Speaker 1>Mario games that would kind of fix a lot with <v Speaker 1>paper Mario. The combat's very good. I feel actively engaged. <v Speaker 1>All the brother moves are very cool. You get upgrades <v Speaker 1>and you get the gear that that makes you feel <v Speaker 1>like more survivable, and then you know, you get a <v Speaker 1>hammer and now you got a hammer move in combat, <v Speaker 1>and that's great. I'm kind of I think of like <v Speaker 1>three hours in or something like that, three three and <v Speaker 1>a half hours in, and I feel like I'm waiting <v Speaker 1>for it to get started. I'm waiting for like, it <v Speaker 1>just doesn't have the juice. It's uh is boring, it's bland. <v Speaker 1>I'm waiting like, yeah, there's some puns here or there, <v Speaker 1>but it doesn't have the sort of liveliness that you <v Speaker 1>got from Superstar Saga or many of its sequels. Sure, <v Speaker 1>the exploration does feel very basic. It's you're going around <v Speaker 1>these these these small islands. The way the game works <v Speaker 1>is there was a connected, uh sort of like continent <v Speaker 1>that had all these countries connected together. There's a big tree. <v Speaker 1>The tree died, someone did something to it, we don't <v Speaker 1>know who, and so all these lands got disconnected and <v Speaker 1>now they're islands floating in the sea. You're on a <v Speaker 1>ship shaped island called ship Shape literally called ship Shape. <v Speaker 1>It goes through the sea on current, on the currents, <v Speaker 1>and you can choose different currents, similar to spirit tracks. <v Speaker 1>Actually we're signed here, but so you'll find these different islands. <v Speaker 1>And as you find these different islands and complete what <v Speaker 1>you do on these islands, you connect them back to <v Speaker 1>ship Shape, and so you're bonding them together. And I <v Speaker 1>think one of the cool things is as you're waiting <v Speaker 1>for Shipshape to travel on the currents to other new <v Speaker 1>islands that you haven't explored before, you can spend some <v Speaker 1>time going back to these previous islands that frequently have <v Speaker 1>opened up new avenues of exploration after you've done like <v Speaker 1>the main quest there. So there's reasons to go back. <v Speaker 1>But the main quest themselves in each of these areas <v Speaker 1>is there's just not much to it. You're just kind <v Speaker 1>of going from like very basic things. It feels very <v Speaker 1>kind of like Beyond Babies first RPG in a lot <v Speaker 1>of ways, and just like they didn't want any friction <v Speaker 1>here at all. The I think in earlier Mario Luigi games, <v Speaker 1>you would get these brother moves that Okay, you have <v Speaker 1>the hammer, so we're gonna hit Mario with Luigi's hammer, <v Speaker 1>turn him into a ball, send him through this thing. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I think that stuff will be in this game later on, <v Speaker 1>but as it stands early on, and none of that <v Speaker 1>stuff is really factoring into solving puzzles. And a lot <v Speaker 1>of it comes down to these You're controlling Mario and <v Speaker 1>Luigi's behind you, and then Luigi and you can you <v Speaker 1>could hold down the L button on the controller and <v Speaker 1>Luigi would just go do his own thing and and <v Speaker 1>he'll like solve something for you, and then you're still <v Speaker 1>controlling Mario. And in the previous games it was like <v Speaker 1>I felt like I had full control over both at <v Speaker 1>the entire time. Yeah, and I was like, there's a <v Speaker 1>small thing, but I find it very frustrating. In the <v Speaker 1>earlier days, you could roll your thumb over A and <v Speaker 1>B because A he was always controlling Mario. B he's <v Speaker 1>always controlling Luigi. That still happens here. But as you <v Speaker 1>roll your thumb over it like that would do like <v Speaker 1>an offset jump, so you could go up platforms really smoothly, <v Speaker 1>and it felt like, oh cool, I'm getting both these <v Speaker 1>brothers up up these few steps. And here every time <v Speaker 1>I do that, Luigi will jump straight up and stay still, <v Speaker 1>and so Mario's getting ahead of them, and Mario's doing <v Speaker 1>the jumps just fine, but Luigi staying back there, and <v Speaker 1>so they get like disconnected, and I just didn't feel <v Speaker 1>I can control both of them. So yeah, it's it's <v Speaker 1>been fine, Like I think, it's sure, it's a fine game, <v Speaker 1>but it's just it's it does not live up to <v Speaker 1>my expectations so far. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's a bummer, I mean just because like one <v Speaker 3>of the things is that you know, I've been thinking <v Speaker 3>about recently and you know, talking about with my husband, <v Speaker 3>is that like I've been enjoying these kind of littler <v Speaker 3>surprise games that Nintendo's been dropping, like Super Mario Brothers <v Speaker 3>Wonder for example. Last year, I absolutely loved it was <v Speaker 3>so fun to play two player. <v Speaker 2>And then you know this year you had Legend of. <v Speaker 3>Zelda Eco's Wisdom, which again it was like announced earlier <v Speaker 3>this year, came out this year and you know, isn't <v Speaker 3>giant full scale like a Breath of the Wild Tears <v Speaker 3>of the Kingdom, but is a very fun and satisfying <v Speaker 3>game with interesting mechanics. You know, in some ways, I <v Speaker 3>actually can draw some similarities between something like an Echoes <v Speaker 3>of Wisdom and a Super Mario Brothers Wonder in like <v Speaker 3>the changing of perspectives, because you know, I mean you've <v Speaker 3>played Echoes of Wisdom. It's like sometimes you're it's like <v Speaker 3>a top down sort of isometric you're running around, and <v Speaker 3>then other times it switches to the side scrolling platformer <v Speaker 3>and that like that's all really fun and it's playing <v Speaker 3>with those mechanics and it does so fairly seamlessly. So yeah, <v Speaker 3>it's a it's disappointing to hear that, like Mario and <v Speaker 3>Luigi Brothership is not like keeping up that tradition of <v Speaker 3>being like a not mainline title exactly but still being <v Speaker 3>a fun kind of smaller experience. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. I mean, for me, Mario Luigi was always the <v Speaker 1>Mario RPG franchise that really hit best. Yeah, and that <v Speaker 1>this Super Mario RBG was very special. But right, yeah, <v Speaker 1>we've had we've had Paper Mario, We've had Mario Luigi. <v Speaker 1>I thought Mario luigis Superstar Saga is a great, like <v Speaker 1>one of my favorite games of all time. Inside Story <v Speaker 1>is also really good, and there's been like various levels <v Speaker 1>of quality from the rest of the games in the series. <v Speaker 1>I like, I even like the dream one, even though <v Speaker 1>that one is deffinitely going yeah over explaining everything and <v Speaker 1>really holding your hand on everything, and here it's like, <v Speaker 1>maybe it's doing that, maybe it's hold in your hand, <v Speaker 1>but there's just not much to hold your hand through. <v Speaker 1>It's all so basic at least early on. And if <v Speaker 1>it does get more like in depth later on, if <v Speaker 1>it does require more of you, I'm not expecting that, <v Speaker 1>but if it does, it might be a little too little, <v Speaker 1>too late. <v Speaker 3>Do you think that this is because I mean, I <v Speaker 3>found I didn't play the full game. I played the <v Speaker 3>demo because there was a free demo of the Princess <v Speaker 3>Peach game earlier this year, and I remember playing it <v Speaker 3>and I went, you know what, this is not for me. <v Speaker 3>This is for children. <v Speaker 2>I would have gobbled this up as a child. <v Speaker 3>And I think that you know there that there is <v Speaker 3>a place for those games that are four kids. But <v Speaker 3>then I think also that you know, you take something <v Speaker 3>like again, I just rolled credits on eCos of Wisdom, <v Speaker 3>so it's like very fresh in my mind that I <v Speaker 3>wouldn't say Echoes of Wisdom is a difficult game per se. <v Speaker 2>You can, but they have. <v Speaker 3>The option to turn the difficulty up, which is great, <v Speaker 3>and it is totally playable by children, but still absolutely <v Speaker 3>enjoyable for adults. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's what's missing here is that I always thought <v Speaker 1>that Mario Luigi games would have been fine for any kid. Sure, yeah, <v Speaker 1>and then but they're also just quality games, and this <v Speaker 1>is this is I think this is a game that <v Speaker 1>kids could enjoy, will enjoy. Actually sure, yeah, and and <v Speaker 1>that's okay, that's fine. I'm not gonna take that away <v Speaker 1>from it. I wouldn't, but yeah, it's not then also <v Speaker 1>just a great game on its own merits it is. <v Speaker 1>It's okay. I think it's very I think it's very fine. <v Speaker 1>It's a good foundation. I hope it does well. I <v Speaker 1>hope that the acquire the team that worked on this <v Speaker 1>succeeds here enough that Nintendo would be like, Okay, let's <v Speaker 1>let's do it again, but let's like really get him <v Speaker 1>another chance, let's get the juice this time. And yeah, <v Speaker 1>but as it stands right now, it's just not there. <v Speaker 1>All right, I got another set of reviews for you, Slitterhead. <v Speaker 1>Slitterhead is out. Let me actually double check on this <v Speaker 1>on Open Critic. I'm gonna refresh see where it's at. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>it's still at sixty six on Open Critic, twenty nine <v Speaker 1>percent of critics would recommend the game. According to Open Critic, <v Speaker 1>not a great result there, let's see here. Tristan Gilvy <v Speaker 1>from ig and gave it a five out of ten. Says, <v Speaker 1>like a bloody blade blade worn down by a few <v Speaker 1>too many battles, Slitterhead grows increasingly dull over time and <v Speaker 1>ultimately just doesn't cut it. So it's pretty good turnphrase there. <v Speaker 1>James Trouton at The Gamer gave it four stars, says <v Speaker 1>Slitterhead is an incredibly inventive game with a brilliant and <v Speaker 1>novel idea at its core. It's the exact kind of <v Speaker 1>release we should be uplifting, a new ip that pushes <v Speaker 1>graphics and trends and trends aside to try something fresh. <v Speaker 1>Abby Stone at pc Gamer gave it a seventy out <v Speaker 1>of one hundred. Said a flawed but fun action slaughterfest <v Speaker 1>with a great NPC possession hook. This is the new <v Speaker 1>one from at least one of the people involved in <v Speaker 1>early Silent Hill games. Yes, that's why it got some attention. <v Speaker 1>Sounds like rough around the edges, and I believe even <v Speaker 1>the creators of the game were saying, like, yeah, it's <v Speaker 1>gonna be like early Silent Hill games where it's it's <v Speaker 1>kind of rough, But I don't know any any interesting <v Speaker 1>still checking this out. <v Speaker 3>You know, from an aesthetic point of view, absolutely like <v Speaker 3>this is completely by Jay. It looks like weird body <v Speaker 3>horror and I like horror games. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, I don't, I don't know. <v Speaker 3>I'm curious to try it because again, it's like I <v Speaker 3>do atiate as you know you quoted in the one <v Speaker 3>review that they're you know, it's a it's an original IP. <v Speaker 3>I do think that in gaming we are getting stronger <v Speaker 3>representation of original IP than we necessarily are in like <v Speaker 3>movies and TV, though even that is. <v Speaker 2>Shifting a little bit. <v Speaker 3>So again, I I want to support people who are <v Speaker 3>doing something new. <v Speaker 1>Definitely, yes, same and and you know, or like even <v Speaker 1>like something new while trying to pet something that is <v Speaker 1>established or lost and they're definitely going for it here. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>and I think it might be worth like trying out <v Speaker 1>and still work a and maybe maybe this is like <v Speaker 1>the genre. Maybe this is my perception of the genre. <v Speaker 1>A subpar horror game doesn't feel like the worst thing <v Speaker 1>to spend your time, right, It's like a subpart actually <v Speaker 1>to venture games a subpar platform? Are those? Why would <v Speaker 1>I waste my time? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? <v Speaker 1>I bet this could still be very interesting totally. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>but we'll see how it does. I mean, maybe it's <v Speaker 1>also one of the things like hey, Sliterhead two really <v Speaker 1>brings these things together. Sure, but but I don't know. <v Speaker 1>I wonder if, with Silent Hill to the remake coming <v Speaker 1>out doing very well, being really well received, if that <v Speaker 1>doesn't create much of a chance that there's not a <v Speaker 1>lot of oxygen left in the room for the fandom <v Speaker 1>to go pay attention to this instead. I don't know, <v Speaker 1>what do you think? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I agree, it's like it's interesting timing with the <v Speaker 3>release of Silent Hill, the Silent Hill to remake, because, <v Speaker 3>as you say, that has done very well, that has <v Speaker 3>largely positive reviews. So I'm more interested in playing that <v Speaker 3>than checking this out. <v Speaker 2>But I'm not uninterested in this. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and it does. I mean, they're maybe it's like <v Speaker 1>less of a horror game than even what maybe we're <v Speaker 1>giving it credit for. It looks like there's a ton <v Speaker 1>action in this tree. <v Speaker 2>It does look like there's just a lot of action. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know. Your arm flings off and you <v Speaker 1>can use it as a weapon. That's pretty cool. That's rad. <v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, anyway, slitterhead, I think this is coming out <v Speaker 1>this week as well at Yeah sixty six on Open Critic. <v Speaker 1>I'm sure more reviews will come in soon. All right, <v Speaker 1>let's see here. I'm gonna turn off these headlines because <v Speaker 1>that's broken today. Everything's there, we go, Okay, let's get <v Speaker 1>to the next story. A PS five Pro feature will <v Speaker 1>make some PS four games look even better. This is <v Speaker 1>a secret feature that people are discovering as more and <v Speaker 1>more information gets out about the system, which launches later <v Speaker 1>this week, November seventh. It's November fourth right now. This <v Speaker 1>is from Amid armaudon Yeah Arma Gaudin at game Rant. <v Speaker 1>A new report suggests that the PlayStation five Pro will <v Speaker 1>have an option that will allow or enable players to <v Speaker 1>enhance the image quality of some PlayStation four games. Well. <v Speaker 1>The PlayStation Five's pros primary focus has been the PS <v Speaker 1>five enhanced titles, it seems like it's capabilities extend to <v Speaker 1>the previous console generation as well. Sony announced the PlayStation <v Speaker 1>five Pro earlier this year, and it got a mixed <v Speaker 1>reception from the community. Blah blah blah. Anyway, there's a <v Speaker 1>future called something along the lines of enhance PS five <v Speaker 1>or PS four games, and it's like and then it <v Speaker 1>says it like a little subtext below that, it's like <v Speaker 1>one toggle and it says, hey, some PS four games <v Speaker 1>will get improved. And if this doesn't work, it might <v Speaker 1>cost and glitter. Just just turn it off if that <v Speaker 1>starts happening. I think that this is probably going to <v Speaker 1>be some sort of AI upscaling, some sort of machine learned. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's exactly what I was going to say. It <v Speaker 2>sounds like an AI kind of thing. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and the machine learning could it could definitely do <v Speaker 1>something like this. I think some people have begun looking <v Speaker 1>at it a little bit more closely here or there not. <v Speaker 1>We haven't seen a ton of stuff this, But of course, <v Speaker 1>the first game most people went to was Bloodborne. I <v Speaker 1>saw one person shot where it was difficult to notice <v Speaker 1>any difference at all. Maybe zoomed in on some stuff, <v Speaker 1>it's like, maybe this thing looks a little sharper than <v Speaker 1>this image over here, but I know maybe it looks <v Speaker 1>better in motion. Maybe that's where like the it really benefits. <v Speaker 1>But do you think there's a reason that it's like <v Speaker 1>they haven't talked about this features like they don't want <v Speaker 1>to like promise too much, but maybe it'll be a <v Speaker 1>little bit better. <v Speaker 2>I definitely think it's they don't want to promise too much. <v Speaker 2>To me. <v Speaker 3>This feels like, hey, we're experimenting with this, so the <v Speaker 3>feature exists, but we're not going to advertise it as <v Speaker 3>being a feature because we're not super confident in how <v Speaker 3>much of a difference it's. <v Speaker 2>Really going to make. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, and I'm like hopeful that like, hey, every little <v Speaker 1>thing that makes me feel better about PS five pro <v Speaker 1>might be like, well, when I do go to get <v Speaker 1>one of those things that every little future will you know, <v Speaker 1>benefit it and make me feel better. But it's like, <v Speaker 1>I don't know, looking at those early comparison shots, not <v Speaker 1>seeing much there saying okay, is this sort of a <v Speaker 1>placebo effect that they're putting in there, and that's why <v Speaker 1>they're not really talking about it. You know. PS five <v Speaker 1>already enhances a lot of PS four games because PS <v Speaker 1>they built that like capability and when they did PS <v Speaker 1>four pro, like, there will just be some games that <v Speaker 1>just get enhanced in the background, and PS five will <v Speaker 1>do even more of that. And at a certain point <v Speaker 1>when you're running those games that are that don't need <v Speaker 1>a lot of horsepower on something that does have a <v Speaker 1>lot of extra horsepower and is already upscaling things to <v Speaker 1>look really go to four KTVs, it is going to <v Speaker 1>be hard to notice the smallest differences, so we'll see. <v Speaker 1>But hey at PS five pro out this week, will <v Speaker 1>get a lot more information on this once it's out <v Speaker 1>in the wild, and I think we'll probably have some <v Speaker 1>more coverage of it here on Giant Bomb, and I <v Speaker 1>know they'll have more over a game spot as well. Okay, <v Speaker 1>let's take a quick break when we come back. Final <v Speaker 1>Fantasy producers talking about Xbox and their plans for releasing <v Speaker 1>games on that system going forward, and a lot more <v Speaker 1>right after this, all right, right back into it as promised. <v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy producer claims Square plans to release games simultaneously <v Speaker 1>on Xbox going forward. This is from Jordan Miler at VGC. <v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy producer Naoki Yoshida has said that Square Inex <v Speaker 1>plans to release games simultaneously on Xbox going forward. In <v Speaker 1>an interview with four Gamer for Fantasian Neo Dimension, Yo <v Speaker 1>shoulda known by fans as Yoship said that Square plans <v Speaker 1>to launch games on all platforms simultaneously more and more. <v Speaker 1>Of course, we want you to play it on play <v Speaker 1>it a lot on other platforms as well, he said. <v Speaker 1>This time we will also release the Xbox Series X <v Speaker 1>and S versions at the same time, and the future <v Speaker 1>Square Enix titles will be released simultaneously on each platform <v Speaker 1>more and more. But since this is close to the <v Speaker 1>first release, we would like Xbox users to play it <v Speaker 1>as well. Earlier this year, yo should Have said that <v Speaker 1>he'd like to release Final Fantasy sixteen on Xbox platforms. <v Speaker 1>During an interview with Video Games, yo should have said <v Speaker 1>what was asked if he could offer any news on <v Speaker 1>a potential release for the game on Microsoft consoles. Of course, <v Speaker 1>we did announce the PC version of the game, so <v Speaker 1>looking towards the Xbox version, we do want to wanted <v Speaker 1>to release on Xbox, he said, But when it comes <v Speaker 1>to the specifics such as when the game would be <v Speaker 1>available and such, we are not in a position to <v Speaker 1>be able to share anything. But of course I want <v Speaker 1>to say that it's not as if there's zero hope, <v Speaker 1>and we very much, very much do want to achieve that, <v Speaker 1>so players should not give up in terms of their hopes. <v Speaker 1>We've known that this has been like the way the <v Speaker 1>wind is blowing. They've explicitly said this before, but they <v Speaker 1>keep coming back to this as like a reminder of like, hey, <v Speaker 1>Xbox fans, we're not just not forgetting about you. We <v Speaker 1>plan to fully incorporate you into our our launch plans <v Speaker 1>going forward and in between like the next big game <v Speaker 1>launching and now we are also very much concerned with <v Speaker 1>getting games that are exclusive to other platforms or not <v Speaker 1>on Xbox over to Xbox. I think this is like <v Speaker 1>a good start for Square Enix. I we've talked about <v Speaker 1>this before, Emma, and I think we've both agreed that <v Speaker 1>this is not necessarily the solution to everything that ails <v Speaker 1>Square Enix. <v Speaker 3>But no, it's a start, right, It's definitely a start, <v Speaker 3>And I think you know, the only thing probably at <v Speaker 3>this point that it's holding them back from knowing exactly <v Speaker 3>when these things are going to get releases on Xbox <v Speaker 3>is their contracts with Sony. You know, there's there's timed exclusivity, <v Speaker 3>there has been for a long time, and then they've <v Speaker 3>always been able to do the PC ports. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, I mean again, it's. <v Speaker 3>It's really interesting that because you know, we lived through <v Speaker 3>the great console Wars of Your where games really were <v Speaker 3>not on multiple platforms, and now it's really standard for <v Speaker 3>games to be released on multiple platforms simultaneously unless they <v Speaker 3>are developed specifically by Microsoft Xbox, you know. <v Speaker 2>Like for them or like Sony Santa Monica. <v Speaker 3>So look, you want to reach as many people as <v Speaker 3>you possibly can. I think again that Xbox has never <v Speaker 3>been the go to for sort of your your massive <v Speaker 3>scale JRPGs. But then they have their contract with Saga <v Speaker 3>Atlas for the Persona games to go onto game Pass, <v Speaker 3>so I think that you're capturing more of that audience. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 3>And again those things are on game Pass, so those <v Speaker 3>people are kind of getting a taste for those things <v Speaker 3>and they think, maybe I want to play this Final <v Speaker 3>Fantasy game and then you make it available for sale <v Speaker 3>on Xbox. <v Speaker 2>That makes perfect sense. <v Speaker 1>Yes, it's you know, the Xbox audience at this point <v Speaker 1>is like they're looking for games to play. Sure, a <v Speaker 1>lot of people are just like, I'll just get stuff <v Speaker 1>on PC now, But there is still a dedicated Xbox <v Speaker 1>console audience for sure, absolutely, And it's the kind that <v Speaker 1>can you know, I think they have at the very <v Speaker 1>least been somewhat trained to pay attention to Square innx <v Speaker 1>games because or the kinds of games that Square x <v Speaker 1>mix anyhow, because there have been several successful JRPGs on <v Speaker 1>game Pass. Now, you know, I think there was a <v Speaker 1>dragon Quest eleven. Yeah, Dragon Quest eleven was one that <v Speaker 1>went on there. I think what reports were it did <v Speaker 1>very well on game Pass, and I think that on <v Speaker 1>audiences like we, hey, give me a big game on here. <v Speaker 1>I'll pay attention to that point. <v Speaker 3>And also like if Square could get a contract going <v Speaker 3>with game Pass. There are so many other RPGs that <v Speaker 3>they make that are not Final Fantasy, that are even <v Speaker 3>not Dragon Quest, which I would say is you know, <v Speaker 3>in terms of their you know, big RPG franchises, that <v Speaker 3>is their second most popular one. It's certainly extremely popular <v Speaker 3>in Japan. It does not have the same kind of <v Speaker 3>popularity in the US. But like, you know, there's all <v Speaker 3>the Octopath Traveler games, I mean all two of them, <v Speaker 3>but they're you know, those games are fun. There's you know, <v Speaker 3>I had another example and it has. <v Speaker 2>Gone out of my brain because my body does not <v Speaker 2>know what time it is. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, the Saga titles, Oh, the Mana titles, The Secret Legend, <v Speaker 3>et cetera of Mana and I think that those would <v Speaker 3>all do very well on a game pass kind of situation, <v Speaker 3>any sort of subscription service you just get this game. <v Speaker 3>Those games would get more attention because people would be like, <v Speaker 3>oh cool, I like JRPGs, I'm. <v Speaker 1>Going to try this yep, and you know Jamie h <v Speaker 1>and the chat mentions, like you know, you could put <v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy seven Part one on game pass, oh yeah, <v Speaker 1>and that would offer up a real easy pathway for <v Speaker 1>people like okay, I'll play that and mile the second one. Well, <v Speaker 1>here's two, and as you're like finishing up two, you <v Speaker 1>know three will be out within like a year and <v Speaker 1>a half of that, Like yeah, two years of that <v Speaker 1>at the most that that feels like maybe not the most, <v Speaker 1>but like possibly within two years. It's like, Okay, now <v Speaker 1>you've created this really great runway to get fans on <v Speaker 1>board in a way that even a PlayStation five didn't have, <v Speaker 1>because if you didn't play a Final Fantasy seven Part one, <v Speaker 1>it's like, well, I got to go get that first, <v Speaker 1>and I guess so now I'm gonna just go buy <v Speaker 1>that cheap and then now at this point, I'll just <v Speaker 1>wait for Final Fantasy seven Part two to be cheap, <v Speaker 1>so Yeah, I think that there is some benefits that <v Speaker 1>the Xbox can present to a company like Squering Nix <v Speaker 1>that is different and unique, and yet at the same time, <v Speaker 1>they got to just figure out their games. They got <v Speaker 1>to figure out what what the future of Final Fantasy <v Speaker 1>looks like. They have to figure out why they've been <v Speaker 1>so afraid of embracing what makes those games special in <v Speaker 1>terms of, you know, turn based combat and why that's <v Speaker 1>worked out so well for everyone else that's stuck with <v Speaker 1>that and not. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that is really fascinating to think of, because, as <v Speaker 3>you say, you look at Sega Atlas very specifically, you <v Speaker 3>you know Persona five and Persona five Royal and now <v Speaker 3>you know, like a dragon, Yeah, Yakaza Lake Dragon metaphor Refontasio, Like, <v Speaker 3>there's so much turn based combat that is working super well. <v Speaker 3>And the thing about the Yakuza games very specifically, is <v Speaker 3>that you have your two flavors of Yakaza, you know, <v Speaker 3>you have your beat them up games. The new Pirates <v Speaker 3>game is a return to form with the classic uh <v Speaker 3>you know, brawler. <v Speaker 2>Type so fun. But people like turn based RPGs. <v Speaker 1>They do, yes, I mean and I the Yakuza games <v Speaker 1>are have never been as popular as they are now <v Speaker 1>as they become more turn based. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, totally, totally. <v Speaker 3>And it's like, look, I happen to love the combat <v Speaker 3>system in the Final Fantasy seven regames. <v Speaker 1>I think it's one of the best things that are great. <v Speaker 3>They are great, absolutely, yes, but I also respect the <v Speaker 3>people that are like, I love this game, but I <v Speaker 3>am a turn based RPG type of person. <v Speaker 1>So yep, you know yeah, and you know Sigatliss Jamie <v Speaker 1>Chass points. I hear that they credit going multiplatform to <v Speaker 1>the increased sales of A Persona and Yakiza, and it's like, oh, yeah, <v Speaker 1>I mean Sega Atlas the they this is a company <v Speaker 1>that has seemed to really figure things out in this <v Speaker 1>last year or so. It's really come together for them. <v Speaker 1>This is at like following in the footsteps of Capcom, <v Speaker 1>that is like the biggest multi platform publisher in Japan, <v Speaker 1>uh and that is really paid off. And now it's <v Speaker 1>Square Knicks and Konami's sort of like being like, can <v Speaker 1>we replicate that? Yeah, Konomy seems to be doing that slowly. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>they're making a lot of money, but that's like they're <v Speaker 1>they're they're making even more now that they've done this <v Speaker 1>and Square Knicks meanwhile, has been the one that's been <v Speaker 1>holding out the longest to being like, hey, let's get <v Speaker 1>our money just from Sony, and they seem to have <v Speaker 1>been paying the biggest price for that. And then I think, <v Speaker 1>you know, going multiplatform, having more people to sell your <v Speaker 1>game too, that is clearly the number one issue they're <v Speaker 1>solving that. After that, figuring out the identity of your <v Speaker 1>biggest franchises is going to be the more challenging problem. <v Speaker 1>But you know, if you have a little bit more <v Speaker 1>leeway in terms of who you're selling to, maybe that <v Speaker 1>gives you a little bit more slack to work with <v Speaker 1>in terms of solving those problems. Yeah, all right, Pokemon, <v Speaker 1>the trading card game Pocket is reportedly already bringing in <v Speaker 1>the big bucks. This is from Jim Norman at Nintendo Life. <v Speaker 5>Yep. <v Speaker 2>I I not believe. <v Speaker 3>I just need no, I just need to interject that <v Speaker 3>I cannot believe that it took this long to get this. <v Speaker 1>Yep. So they've had tcgu Live, which is like to <v Speaker 1>be more really antiquated PC game app that they put <v Speaker 1>on I think they put on mobile quite some time ago. <v Speaker 1>It's been available everywhere, but it is for the biggest <v Speaker 1>fans of the trading card game, so they could play competitively. <v Speaker 1>It's not been like super accessively accessible to like new audiences. <v Speaker 1>That is the exact opposite case with Pope, which makes <v Speaker 1>it very simple. It simplies the game itself, like the <v Speaker 1>plane of the game, but then it ships the emphasis <v Speaker 1>from playing competitively with other people, which you could still <v Speaker 1>do in the game, to collecting the cards, which is <v Speaker 1>the thing that really makes them the money. So now <v Speaker 1>it's making them a lot of money here, Jim Norman <v Speaker 1>at Nintendo Life Rights. Pokemon trading card game Pocket arrived <v Speaker 1>on mobile last week, and after racking up an impressive <v Speaker 1>ten million downloads in the first forty eight hours, it <v Speaker 1>has reportedly been pulling in some beefy revenue numbers over <v Speaker 1>the weekend, as reported by Mobile gamer Is. The mobile <v Speaker 1>market research firm app Magic estimates that TCG Pocket has <v Speaker 1>been bringing in a suite three million dollars per day <v Speaker 1>since launching, racking up twelve million dollars in its first <v Speaker 1>four days on the market. To make things sound even <v Speaker 1>more impressive, this is the firm suggests. Put this the <v Speaker 1>firm suggests puts the trading card apps revenue more than <v Speaker 1>three times higher than Pokemon Go for the same period, <v Speaker 1>which still brings in an estimated one million dollars per day. <v Speaker 1>You know, that puts it, like well on it on <v Speaker 1>the pathway of being one of these games that makes <v Speaker 1>a billion dollars in a year, right, So oh yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 1>it's it's a huge launch. I think it's in terms <v Speaker 1>of having the ten million dollars downloads to be ten <v Speaker 1>million downloads. That makes it one of the highest installed <v Speaker 1>apps of all time in terms of like a one <v Speaker 1>week period. Uh, it's definitely in like the top five. <v Speaker 1>I think it might be in the top three. Uh. <v Speaker 1>And yeah, Pokemon still has the juice when it comes <v Speaker 1>to attractive players getting people to spend money. And this game, <v Speaker 1>you know what, we were hanging out over the weekend. <v Speaker 1>Mike was just on there all the time waiting for <v Speaker 1>new packs to unlock. He hasn't monetized yet, but you <v Speaker 1>could just see like him sitting there waiting for that. <v Speaker 1>Some people are not going to be able to resist <v Speaker 1>that urge. And the whole way it works is you <v Speaker 1>get two free packs a day, one every twelve hours. <v Speaker 1>So if you want more packs, you know, just go <v Speaker 1>buy more packs. You basically just buy some energy to <v Speaker 1>unlocked packs early, and people are rushing to do that <v Speaker 1>because they just want to have a chance to get <v Speaker 1>new cards. The collection mechanics of seeing what cards you have. <v Speaker 1>Knowing that these three card expansion packs that you can <v Speaker 1>select from they have five cards in them, each have <v Speaker 1>different sets of cards in them kind of encourage people like, Okay, <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna focus on this one so I know I <v Speaker 1>have a better chance of getting what I want, and <v Speaker 1>then I could see it completed in my collection. It's <v Speaker 1>well engineered to make a lot of money. It sounds <v Speaker 1>like it's doing exactly that. <v Speaker 2>It does not surprise me at all that Manati is <v Speaker 2>into this game. <v Speaker 1>He's not the only one. Shan was definitely playing. I <v Speaker 1>think Kayla was playing. I've like started, but my kids <v Speaker 1>are just kind of getting the Pokemon in general, so <v Speaker 1>it's like we'll kind of do this together. I've been <v Speaker 1>opening pacts with them so I can. Like when I <v Speaker 1>found out if you don't open the packs right away, <v Speaker 1>they just sit there and you don't recharge new packs, <v Speaker 1>I'm like, Oka, I should open these so new cards. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, it looks, it looks great, it plays great, <v Speaker 1>It's snappy and clearly people just like you know, humans <v Speaker 1>like collecting things, and this is really playing on that. <v Speaker 1>It's working very well. <v Speaker 3>I have an idea for the Pokemon company, because you know, <v Speaker 3>there was the slogan of Pokemon go to the polls. <v Speaker 3>Wouldn't it be great if you could go and vote <v Speaker 3>and then for as a reward for voting. <v Speaker 4>You get energy to unlock new facts in Pokemon Trading <v Speaker 4>Card Fighter. <v Speaker 1>Yep, it's see. I don't know, I think that's what <v Speaker 1>it's called. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, that's the title, right. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. And you know, I'll admit when I see like <v Speaker 1>friends on social media sharing images of like the very <v Speaker 1>rare charizard card and it's digital, doesn't it doesn't matter <v Speaker 1>in my brain. I'm just like, oh, that looks fun. <v Speaker 1>That looks yeah, I wish I had one of those two. <v Speaker 1>I don't know why. I've never really played the card game, <v Speaker 1>the Pokemon card game, but I I'm going to spend <v Speaker 1>some more time with this app myself. I'm going to <v Speaker 1>try to like get a deck, going play some games <v Speaker 1>against the computer. See if I enjoy. Because I've liked <v Speaker 1>a card game in the past, maybe this one will <v Speaker 1>be good. And you know, if it's if I feel like, oh, <v Speaker 1>I could start, I could see myself going on the <v Speaker 1>path of spending a lot of money on this and <v Speaker 1>really I'm just having fun play in this game. Maybe <v Speaker 1>I'll just go back and play the game Boy Color <v Speaker 1>TCG game that they released on Nintendo Switch Online that <v Speaker 1>I've always been to play, and I'm like, I'll just <v Speaker 1>go play that instead. I like the idea of a <v Speaker 1>card game RPG that's always been Yeah, it's. <v Speaker 2>Just there for you to play. Yes, exactly, don't have <v Speaker 2>to spend any more money, huh. <v Speaker 1>I could just get the same experience, but in an <v Speaker 1>RPG setting. Yeah, that sounds fantastic. That's how That's what <v Speaker 1>I've done with golf. I'll I'll just go play Mario <v Speaker 1>Golf instead. Play that RPG. <v Speaker 2>That's better than real golf anyway. <v Speaker 1>Exactly, all right, Moving along here, Nintendo shares why it <v Speaker 1>created the Nintendo Music App. This is from My Nintendo News. <v Speaker 1>In an interview with Nippon Television News, a spokesperson for <v Speaker 1>Nintendo explained why the company made the Nintendo Music App, <v Speaker 1>which lets Nintendo Switch Online members listen to music from <v Speaker 1>Nintendo classics both old and new. In the palm of <v Speaker 1>their hands. Roughly translated, here's what Nintendo shared with the <v Speaker 1>news outlet. We believe that game music is an important <v Speaker 1>and valuable piece of content in order to expand the <v Speaker 1>number of people who have access to Nintendo IPS, and <v Speaker 1>Nintendo Music is a service that allows us to deliver <v Speaker 1>the game this game music in a way that is <v Speaker 1>unique to Nintendo. You can enjoy the unique features of <v Speaker 1>Nintendo Music, so just being able to enjoy music along <v Speaker 1>with screenshots and being provided with playlists based not only <v Speaker 1>on game titles, but also on various game related themes <v Speaker 1>and perspectives, perspectives such as characters and music during battles. <v Speaker 1>We believe that if Nintendo Music reminds you of your <v Speaker 1>favorite game and experience, it will also inspire you to <v Speaker 1>want to play the games again. Yeah, I mean I <v Speaker 1>have a kind of From the outside, when this was announced, <v Speaker 1>this seemed to me like this is like a easy <v Speaker 1>value add to Nintendo Switch Online to kind of make <v Speaker 1>people feel a little bit better about continuing that subscription <v Speaker 1>every year and then, and they did do it in <v Speaker 1>anttendo way. The app does feel a little bit different <v Speaker 1>than any other music app, doesn't feel that special, but like, <v Speaker 1>oh yeah, some of the stuff does feel like I <v Speaker 1>am going into a Nintendo curated experience, fair enough. Sure, <v Speaker 1>I don't think this is a thing that, like a <v Speaker 1>year from now, people are not going to be talking <v Speaker 1>about the Nintendo Music app all that much, Right, I don't. <v Speaker 3>Think anybody is signing up for Nintendo Switch online for <v Speaker 3>Nintendo Music, let's put it that way. <v Speaker 1>I agree. <v Speaker 2>I bet everybody's reaction is okay, cool. I love video <v Speaker 2>game music. I listened to video game music all the time. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, it's like, all right, yep. I think a <v Speaker 1>lot of people listen to the video game music, so <v Speaker 1>it's like, I, yeah, I like Nintendo be like we <v Speaker 1>should be taking more advantage of that. Sure, and yeah, <v Speaker 1>again you're doing in a very Nintendo way, But I <v Speaker 1>don't think that this really changes much for most people. <v Speaker 1>And well, yeah, maybe not everyone has YouTube Premium, So <v Speaker 1>the ad free feature of Nintendo Music for people that <v Speaker 1>are already subscribed, maybe that's a little bit of a <v Speaker 1>benefit for a certain audience, probably a large peap who <v Speaker 1>don't have YouTube Premium. For me, it's like it's so <v Speaker 1>much easier to go find the stuff on YouTube, so <v Speaker 1>I'll just keep totally. <v Speaker 3>There's also just like really good reinterpretations of video game <v Speaker 3>music all over Spotify, So you know. <v Speaker 1>Yep, it's hard to sort of just justify it on <v Speaker 1>its own, but I do. I did install the app, <v Speaker 1>I have access to it. I will maybe occasionally take <v Speaker 1>advantage of it, but I, like I said, I bet <v Speaker 1>within the next it probably won't even be a year. <v Speaker 1>It'll be a couple months. I will forget about it, <v Speaker 1>and then I'll either get a new phone or something <v Speaker 1>and I won't remember to install, and I'll never use <v Speaker 1>it again. And then maybe like a year from now, <v Speaker 1>they announced some new feature or new big drop of music, <v Speaker 1>and I'm like, oh, okay, I'll install it again, use <v Speaker 1>it for a couple of days, and then the same <v Speaker 1>process will begin a new But yeah, I hope. I <v Speaker 1>still hope this doesn't discourage them from just like putting <v Speaker 1>music out on other services, but they really have never <v Speaker 1>really done that much. I know we always talk about <v Speaker 1>the mechanical license thing of them not wanting to Nintendo <v Speaker 1>doesn't like to share, yes, and they don't like being <v Speaker 1>compelled to to enable people to be able to cover <v Speaker 1>their music. Like I looked into this a little bit <v Speaker 1>more someone mentioned like I've been able to cover Nintendo <v Speaker 1>songs before that works. I think that Nintendo does still <v Speaker 1>do that. But I think if you release certain songs <v Speaker 1>in the United States, mechanical license has become compulsory. You <v Speaker 1>can say they cannot say no to you decide to <v Speaker 1>cover their song. Now you still have to pay them, <v Speaker 1>you still have to go through and they can't. I <v Speaker 1>think what they're like, we usually will say yes, but <v Speaker 1>we want to control that. We want to have control <v Speaker 1>over that, and we'll give you the mechanical license, and <v Speaker 1>you still got to pay us, of course, but but <v Speaker 1>we want to be able to say no if we <v Speaker 1>choose to do so. And so I think I still <v Speaker 1>tend to believe that that's why Nintendo doesn't usually go <v Speaker 1>down the pathway of releasing certain things in the United <v Speaker 1>States that would make that mechanical license compulsory. But again, <v Speaker 1>who knows. Nintendo's a weird, weird company, and I think <v Speaker 1>this is the latest example of that. <v Speaker 2>Absolutely. <v Speaker 1>All right, A few story, A few more stories here. <v Speaker 1>A reminder, Nintendo will report its earnings overnight tonight, so <v Speaker 1>on Giant BombCast tomorrow we probably should have some news <v Speaker 1>from that, you know, it's gonna be like, how the <v Speaker 1>switch is doing. Have they been able to keep up <v Speaker 1>with the pace they expected to in terms of hardware sales? <v Speaker 1>Probably not, but how certain games that have released have <v Speaker 1>been doing. You know, Super Mario Party, Jamber re released. <v Speaker 1>I don't think inside the reporting period, but maybe they <v Speaker 1>have some updates on that as well. They do that sometimes, <v Speaker 1>But then you know, they're gonna be talking to investors <v Speaker 1>who are going to say, why am I still invested <v Speaker 1>in your company? And Nintendo might feel compelled to say, <v Speaker 1>here's a little bit more information on switch to. That <v Speaker 1>could happen, In fact, if they're going to be pretty <v Speaker 1>hard for them to go through this, you know, the <v Speaker 1>Q and a session with investors and not have to <v Speaker 1>answer something about switch To. <v Speaker 2>Right, Yeah, absolutely. The thing I'm most curious about is <v Speaker 2>theme park earnings. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they'll definitely talk about theme park because I mean, <v Speaker 1>and they have the new theme park opening up soon, <v Speaker 1>so that'll be part of that revenue outlook as well. Yeah. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I mean I bet that's doing very well for them. <v Speaker 3>Oh yes, As somebody who spent many years in theme <v Speaker 3>park world, I will tell you that that is more <v Speaker 3>lucrative than basically any other venture. <v Speaker 1>Yep, and it's it seems like the kind of thing <v Speaker 1>Universal seems very happy with, and they're both gonna keep <v Speaker 1>expanding all that. Hey, I wonder if we even get <v Speaker 1>talk of Hey, Mario, the movie was a little bit ago. <v Speaker 1>We're following soon. Maybe here's a little more info about <v Speaker 1>how we're expanding our efforts working with these various movie <v Speaker 1>production companies. Here's an update on Zelda that we're doing <v Speaker 1>with Sony Pictures. All that stuff is on the table <v Speaker 1>for sure. But the biggest sort of lighthouse to keep <v Speaker 1>an eye open for is going to be what is <v Speaker 1>Nintendo going to tell investors about its plans for the <v Speaker 1>rollout of switch to because this will be the last <v Speaker 1>investor Q and A like for sure before they reveal <v Speaker 1>it publicly. Yeah, for sure. The next one will be <v Speaker 1>will be after March, right that we're in November now, <v Speaker 1>and then the three month period will happen. Maybe there's <v Speaker 1>one in early but yeah, either way, like they're going <v Speaker 1>to be in the thick of it because by March <v Speaker 1>thirty first they will have to have talked about because <v Speaker 1>they said they've already told in vesters they're going to <v Speaker 1>do that, you know, borrowing into any sort of catastrophic thing. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, I think we'll probably get a little bit <v Speaker 1>of a tidbit here or there about switch to that <v Speaker 1>we can fill out some of this information about that system, <v Speaker 1>although don't expect a full reveal or anything like that. <v Speaker 1>Finally mentioned it earlier. PS five Pro is out this week. <v Speaker 1>They do have a list of the fifty enhanced games <v Speaker 1>that will be available at launch. You know, it's things <v Speaker 1>like EA Sports College Football twenty five and Call of Duty, <v Speaker 1>Black Ops six and Lies of Pete and Power World <v Speaker 1>and No Man's Sky. So it's like it runs the gamut, right, <v Speaker 1>it's all. I think fifty games that have like bespoke <v Speaker 1>improvements for Final or for PlayStation five Pro is pretty respectable. <v Speaker 1>That that's a good number. Like you're probably gonna find <v Speaker 1>several games that you've already owned that are going to <v Speaker 1>look seriously better, right, Yeah, definitely. <v Speaker 4>I am still not sure if I'm gonna get one, though, <v Speaker 4>I am very sure that I am not going to <v Speaker 4>unless Sony wants to send me one for three ninety nine. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean what, yeah for real? When I when <v Speaker 1>I've seen it, it's like, this is impressive that some <v Speaker 1>of these improvements do look really really noticeable, But I <v Speaker 1>don't know. Yeah, I guess I'm just not playing my <v Speaker 1>PS five enough to justify I'm not playing any console <v Speaker 1>other than Switch enough to justify it. So that that does. <v Speaker 1>That hasn't stopped me in the past, So we'll see. <v Speaker 1>We'll see as we get closer. All right, I think <v Speaker 1>that is going to do it. For the headlines, Let's <v Speaker 1>get to the poll question. Last week, I asked you <v Speaker 1>about a dragon fight pick one dragon Age the Veilguard <v Speaker 1>or dragon Quest three HD two D sixty shows dragon <v Speaker 1>dragon Quest three HD two D for went with dragon <v Speaker 1>Age the Veilguard, So pretty pretty close fight. <v Speaker 2>But wow, I love seeing the love for dragon Quests. <v Speaker 1>I think a lot of people are excited about that one. Also, <v Speaker 1>that's the more mysterious one now, but when this was out, <v Speaker 1>people were beginning to play Dragon Age the Veilguards. So <v Speaker 1>maybe it's like, now I know a little bit more. Uh, <v Speaker 1>maybe I'll put my hopes and dreams in the dragon <v Speaker 1>Quest instead, But that game also has come out before, <v Speaker 1>so I don't really know what that means. I I, hey, <v Speaker 1>I really want to play Dragon Quest three HD two D. <v Speaker 1>I think it looks really good, and I know that <v Speaker 1>that's one of the people's like favorite dragon Quest games, <v Speaker 1>so oh yeah, go forward to it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, absolutely, I'm in on dragon Quest. <v Speaker 1>Got a new pole Quest. We'll get to that here <v Speaker 1>in a second. Before we do, though, emm A Fife, <v Speaker 1>why don't you tell people what you have going on <v Speaker 1>where people can find you on the internet all that <v Speaker 1>good stuff. <v Speaker 5>Okay, well you can find me voting as is my <v Speaker 5>right and civic duty here in the United States of <v Speaker 5>America if you are in the US, don't forget. <v Speaker 2>Tomorrow is the last day to vote. <v Speaker 3>And then I'm at Emma Fife everywhere on the internet. <v Speaker 1>Ye yeah, I was trying to get out there for <v Speaker 1>early voting, but it was they like moved my poll <v Speaker 1>place further away from me for some reason. It was <v Speaker 1>all consolidated, so it was very, very busy. So I'm <v Speaker 1>gonna go to the local one that will finally be <v Speaker 1>open tomorrow early voting and yesterday, so there's this day <v Speaker 1>in the middle where it's like you should still be <v Speaker 1>able to early vote. They're like, no, we're gonna shut <v Speaker 1>it down and you gotta wait for your pole place <v Speaker 1>to open. Whatever. I'm gonna go do it tomorrow as well. <v Speaker 1>First thing, ye, drop off the kids, go right there, <v Speaker 1>get in line and do it. Get it done. Yeah yeah, everyone, Yeah, <v Speaker 1>go out and vote. If if everyone votes, will get <v Speaker 1>exact what we deserve, right, I think. <v Speaker 3>So that's fair. <v Speaker 5>I guess. <v Speaker 1>All right. Let's see here, new poll question. PS five <v Speaker 1>pro is out this week. How do you feel about it? Now? <v Speaker 1>Are you getting it? Won it? But I'm waiting? Or <v Speaker 1>not getting it? Those are your three options. We'll try <v Speaker 1>to get that up on YouTube dot com slash at <v Speaker 1>Giant Bomb under the community tab there you can vote <v Speaker 1>for yourself in the meantime that we'll get the results <v Speaker 1>of that on Games Mornings here on Giant Bomb on Wednesday. <v Speaker 1>Speaking of Giant Bomb on Tuesday, like we mentioned, BombCast <v Speaker 1>is back. Look out for that. It'll be a good <v Speaker 1>time talk about We'll talk about more. Mario and Luiju <v Speaker 1>talk about a bunch of games we've been playing. Call <v Speaker 1>of Duty. Maybe be able to talk. I think we <v Speaker 1>might be able to talk about the PS five pro <v Speaker 1>pretty soon. Not exactly sure when that's all gonna break, <v Speaker 1>but later this week we'll definitely have some coverage of <v Speaker 1>that as well as expected voicemail dump truck. Expect probably <v Speaker 1>the return of a Blake Club. I know we missed <v Speaker 1>last week. It was a hectic again. Layoffs happened. It <v Speaker 1>was devastating, kind of really through a wrench in the works. <v Speaker 1>But we're still here. We're gonna keep making stuff. So <v Speaker 1>Blake Club will be back, and yeah, I kind of <v Speaker 1>expect a lot of the other shows to return as well. <v Speaker 1>All right, Emma, I think that's gonna do it. Thank <v Speaker 1>you so much for hanging out with me today and <v Speaker 1>talking about video games. I really appreciate it. <v Speaker 2>Of course you got it. <v Speaker 1>Thank you all as well for listening and watching. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>give your love to Jan he's we'll see how he's doing. <v Speaker 1>Guy can't catch a break, right, just can't catch a break, <v Speaker 1>oh joh. So we're gonna let him take it easy. <v Speaker 1>But yes, thank you everybody once again for watching. We'll <v Speaker 1>catch you next time. Until next time, have a good one, <v Speaker 1>take care of yourself and goodbye.
