With it being Championship week, this is the last fifteen transactions episode of the season, and this week's Late Round podcast schedule is a little bit different too. I'm obviously doing this episode today and then I'm planning just one more episode this week, which is the sleeper show that's gonna drop on its usual day Thursday. So two more episodes of this fantasy season, and there are the two episodes that help you most with your lineup decisions. I'll still be doing content for week eighteen over in the Late Round Fantasy Football Patreon, so if you're playing in one of those bizarro leagues that go through Week eighteen, I can still help you out. There just won't be any podcast episodes around next week. I won't be going anywhere in the offseason either, so I really hope you stick around. I just wanted to give you an update on what's happening this week Championship week now before we get into the transactions. Add Justin Jackson, So gamescript didn't really favor the Lions rushing attack this past week against the Panthers, but even still, Jamal Williams suffered a leg injury late in the third quarter against Carolina, So yeah, he probably wasn't gonna have a big game, but he also got hurt and that injury could end up being nothing, but it could also end up being something. And since it's Week seventeen, you might as well jump on the notion that it could be something. Justin Jackson is next in line for Detroit. He's been playing between twenty percent and forty percent of the Lions offensive snaps during this final stretch of the season, and Detroit's been a team where they split that backfield up. So if Williams were to miss Week seventeen, not only would DeAndre Swipt benefit, but Justin Jackson would too. Add Tyler Algier. Tyler Algier just keeps getting it done. He was mentioned last week on this show and he ended up playing over sixty percent of Atlanta's snaps and week sixteen, that was a season high for him when playing alongside a healthy Cordero Patterson. But more importantly, Algier had a sixteen percent target share this past week. That was his best mark of the season. In Week seventeen, the Falcons get the Cardinals. That could end up being a neutral or even positive game script for Atlanta. So with his current usage, Algier would be a great play, and he's still out there in over fifty percent of Yahoo leagues. Add Johan Dotson. So just a few weeks ago on this show, I talked about adding Johan Dotson and the logic behind it was pretty straightforward. He's a talented wide receiver and you want talent on your fantasy rosters. In his two games since that point in time, he scored twenty and a half in nineteen point six PPR points. He's now hit a twenty two percent target share in three consecutive games. So I'll say this again, he's still out there in seventy seven percent of Yahoo leagues. You want talented players, so you should be rostering Jehan Dotson ad Royce Freeman. So this has yet another repeat transaction. But Royce Freeman saw even better usage in Week sixteen than he did in Week fifteen. His running back rush air went from fifty eight percent to sixty seven percent week over week. He had a thirty eight percent snapshare in Week fifteen and Week sixteen, it was fifty seven percent. In Week seventeen, Freeman and the Texans their four point home underdogs to a Jacksonville Jaguars team that's been average at best against running backs this year and justin fantasy points allowed. So if the Texans can keep this game close, Freeman has a shot to be usable. Ad Isaiah Hodgens. So, the Giants had a great matchup for their wide receivers in Week sixteen and then included Isaiah Hodgens. He had a twenty seven percent target share. He scored almost twenty three PPR points. He's averaged a twenty percent target share per game over his last four That's the type of usage that you don't want to leave on the waiver wire. Ad Rashid sh Heat So can we really walk away from that game in Cleveland this past weekend with any real takeaways? Probably not a ton, but we did see Rashid Shaheed run the most routes for the Saints. Chris Alaves banged up he didn't play this past week, so New Orleans is lacking a pass catcher. If a Lave can't go again this weekend, then Shaheed has some allure even in a tough matchup against the Eagles ad Brock Party. So if you listen to this fifteen Transactions episode last week, you might remember a stat that I threw out about Brock Party's efficiency. In twenty twenty two, NFL quarterbacks have thrown a touchdown pass for every one hundred and seventy one or so passing yards. After Week sixteen, Perty's passing yards per touchdown rate and has four games with significant action is about one oh six, so the league average is one seventy one. He's throwing a touchdown for every one hundred and six passing yards. Now, if this were the beginning of the season, I'd likely be saying that regression was going to hit. But we've just got one more week of this, and in that week, the forty nine ers are facing the Raiders. They're the second best matchup for quarterbacks and adjustin fantasy points allowed this year. So not only is Perdy playing well, but the weapons and scheme in San Francisco can help maintain these touchdown numbers to some degree. He's a super solid streamer this week, and a game where his team has close to a twenty five point implied team total add Daniel Bellinger. I honestly can't quit Daniel Bellinger. The Giants took advantage of good wide receiver matchups in Week sixteen, and Bellinger finished with just a five percent target chair. He still ran the third most routes on the team, though, and through Saturday's games this week, he had run the most routes at tight end across the entire league. There's no reason for me to sit here and sell Bellinger as anything but a desperation type play at tight end during the final week of the season. I don't think Daniel Bellinger is likely going to be a league winning player for you, but it's not easy to find tight ends getting that much run, so Bellinger makes if you're desperate, add Gardner Minshew. So right now, at the time of this recording, I have no idea if Jalen Hurts is going to play this week or not. If he doesn't, Gardner Minshew makes plenty of senses of streamer. Once again, he made some costly mistakes, but the Eagles weren't afraid to have Minshew let it loose. He threw the ball forty times for three hundred and fifty five yards against Dallas. The Eagles have good pass catchers and a good environment around their quarterback. That's gonna help Minshew stay relevant. And in Week sixteen, the Eagles get the Saints. New Orleans is a better matchup for Minshew and Philadelphia than Dallas was his past week, so Minshew's a good ceiling option once again, as long as Jalen Hurts doesn't go. Obviously, add Romeo Dobbs so Christian Watson hurt his hip in Saturday's win over the Dolphins. He missed the entire second half that allowed Romeo Dobbs to get more love in that Packers offense. He played sixty one percent of the team snaps. That was the second highest a wider receiver on the team, and he ran the second most routes too. That resulted in the sixteen percent target chair, which comes one week after he had an eighteen percent target chair unlimited routes. This Watson injury is definitely one to keep an eye on. It doesn't sound super serious right now, but you never know what this kind of stuff, and Green Bay gets one of the best matchups imaginable in Week seventeen, they get the Vikings. Minnesota is the top opponent for wide receivers and the justin Fantasy points allowed, So that makes Dobbs an even more important add this week hold Aaron Rodgers. So look, Aaron Rodgers didn't really come through in Week sixteen despite a good matchup, but it's tough to ignore his opponent in Week seventeen. Like I just talked about, the Packers get the Vikings. Since Week four, the only two quarterbacks to finish outside the top twelve so QB one status against this Minnesota secondary, the only to have been Taylor Heineke and Matt Ryan. In other words, most competent quarterbacks are doing really well against them. They've allowed the most passing yards in football, and they've allowed the fourth highest adjusted net yards per attempt rate, and ad Justin Fantasy points allowed pegs them as the eighth best matchup for quarterbacks. So there's a chance that Aaron Rodgers has a big game. Even if you don't use him this week, you probably don't want your opponent to have them either. Ad Hassan Haskins, So the Titans don't need to win in Week seventeen to make the playoffs. Their season is going to come down to a Week eighteen game against Jacksonville for the AFC South title. So this is all speculation right now, but do they really have to play their starters this week. We're likely going to get more answers as the week goes on and they play on Thursday nights. We'll get those answers really soon. It's just not a bad idea to pick up Haskins right now off the waiver wire in case Derek Henry does sit now. I will say it's not the best spot in the world for Haskins. The Titans are ten point underdogs in the game, with a forty two and a half point over under according to Fandals Sportsbook, so they're implied total against Dallas. This is not very high. Haskins was the only non Derrick Henry running back to play snaps in Week sixteen, but they could easily go with a committee too. It's not like he'd walk into a Derrick Henry workload. Like I said, this is totally speculative, it's just not a bad move to make during the final week of the season. Add Jamichael Hasty. So this same logic for Tennessee and Haskins works for Jacksonville. Jamichael Hasty too. Week seventeen, doesn't matter, so why trot your studs out there in case they get hurt. Travis Etn may not see his normal workload. That could allow Jamiael Hasey to do some work, especially considering Jacksonville gets Houston. Houston is the best matchup for running backs and a justin Fantasy points Allowed, so I think Haskins is a fine ad, but I would actually prefer Jamichael Hasty over Haskins. It'll just be important to read reports throughout the week to see if either Tennessee or Jacksonville is playing arrest starters for that big Week eighteen matchup. Add the Detroit Lions defense, So look, the Lions played like absolute garbage in Week sixteen defensively at least, so it's understandable if you're not really feeling them in Week seventeen. With that being said, they get the Bears this week. Defenses against Chicago have ranked in the top twelve and weekly scoring in eight consecutive weeks. According to Justin Fantasy Points Allowed, the Bears are the fifth best matchup for fantasy defenses, and that's because they're allowing the highest sack rate in football by far. This game has a high over under, but I do think Detroit's a high risk, high reward play. Add the Jacksonville Jaguars defense. So the Jags get the Texans in Week seventeen, and according to Fandels Sportsbook, they're four point road favorites in the game with a forty four and a half point over under. That's not bad. The Jags have also been playing a lot better defensively of late, and that's led them to ranking as a top six fantasy defense in three consecutive games. Now, I will say this, Houston's been tougher than expected over the last few weeks as well, but I do think that Jacksonville at least makes some sense against one of the worst offenses in the league.
