[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you so much for joining me today on Misunderstood. [SPEAKER_00]: It is so fun to see you. [SPEAKER_00]: You look amazing, and I just love seeing you smiling, and I'm just really happy that you're here. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so happy to see you, too. [SPEAKER_00]: We go back. [SPEAKER_00]: I know, we really do. [SPEAKER_00]: So what people don't realize is that I think we originally met in New York City because our daughters went to school together. [SPEAKER_00]: Your daughters and your above mind. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think they had some sort of after school thing together. [SPEAKER_00]: I can't even really remember. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, but that's when I first remember meeting you was through school. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, obviously through Harry, but through school. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I think at the first time was through school. [SPEAKER_01]: And then the next time was through Harry. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, obviously. [SPEAKER_00]: So we have that connection. [SPEAKER_00]: Which we'll get to later. [SPEAKER_00]: It's been quite a week in the world of the housewives. [SPEAKER_00]: So I just kind of want to talk about that for a second so we can move on from that conversation. [SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, [SPEAKER_00]: In pop culture this week, let's, I mean, obviously a lot of other shit was going on. [SPEAKER_00]: But Jill Zaryn has been all over the news. [SPEAKER_00]: She's someone that you and I both know very well. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think it's, you know, we need to like address it for a second for people who don't know who've been living under a rock. [SPEAKER_00]: She made some comments during halftime show about bad bunny and viewers quickly, you know, she got very swift backlash viewers called her tone deaf, ignorant, racist, all sorts of things and very quickly she was fired by the E company, Blink 49 who was putting on the reunion show called The Golden Life. [SPEAKER_00]: So, where do you stand with all of this? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's really hard because we know her as a person and a lot of people don't know her as a person. [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, what are your thoughts on this whole thing? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, um... [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's the whole thing has just sort of rocked my world to be honest. [SPEAKER_01]: I know Jill since 2011 and she's been coming to me for a couple of years to do different kinds of shows and none of them really came to fruition. [SPEAKER_01]: And she came to me for this one. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really this show, this reboot in Florida, is really like she created this show with a producer and she brought the girls together. [SPEAKER_01]: And so just watching the whole thing happens so fast like one minute she's getting the girls together and she's putting a fun show together, you know, the golden girls sort of remake and you will where we are now. [SPEAKER_01]: And the next minute, you know, she's announcing, you know, this great new show and then the next minute she's fired from the show and she's, you know, headline news. [SPEAKER_01]: That was a shocking to start with that. [SPEAKER_01]: Personally, I sort of felt a little involved because she had been calling me about this show since last spring. [SPEAKER_01]: And then she called me again with a producer in November. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was not, the fall through it didn't happen. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm always like the red head of stepchild reason and how it's white blan. [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm okay with that. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, and then she spoke very, very out of turn and then the next thing you know she was fired. [SPEAKER_01]: So what do I think about it? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I was thinking about doing the show. [SPEAKER_01]: I hadn't gotten far enough in the process to, you know, commit or not commit, you know, but I would never think about doing a show with somebody who I thought was racist. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And I've known Jill since 2011 since I joined Housewives, even though we didn't work together, we became friendly and, um, right away. [SPEAKER_01]: And, [SPEAKER_01]: I have never seen Jill, I've never thought of Jill to be racist. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was really the thing that's done, that was just the most awful about her tirade. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Was, you know, that, that comment about how there were no white people in the show. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was just the, the, the kicker. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think it was just a completely stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: comment, I don't think it came from like a hateful place. [SPEAKER_01]: I just, I don't, I think it was completely stupid. [SPEAKER_01]: It came off as completely racist, but I don't think she's racist. [SPEAKER_01]: And I understand what had to be done, I'm sure that, you know, sponsors were calling in and concerned. [SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of online, you know, hate and fall out. [SPEAKER_01]: But I think it just, it made me sort of sit back and think to myself, okay, well, this is a cautionary tale. [SPEAKER_01]: Keep your mouth shut. [SPEAKER_01]: If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. [SPEAKER_01]: And personally, I love the show. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was really, I thought it was really fun. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was a great show. [SPEAKER_01]: But that doesn't matter. [SPEAKER_01]: You can love the show. [SPEAKER_01]: You can hate the show. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you can, but you just can't say, [SPEAKER_01]: racist things against anybody. [SPEAKER_01]: There's a no tolerance for that, for certainly by me and by anybody. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that I think that, you know, it's a good thing that people won't tolerate racism. [SPEAKER_01]: It should be equal across the board. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: There shouldn't be racism against anyone's, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I always taught my kids that skin color is the same thing as hair color and eye color and just like, you know, you don't treat someone differently because they have brown eyes or blue eyes or blonde hair or brown hair, you don't you'd same thing for skin color right and what's happened historically is, you know, terrible terrible and we have a responsibility today to the extra sensitive to fix that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And in that way, it was a stupid thing to say. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think you couldn't have said it any better. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think anyone's actually said it as eloquently as you. [SPEAKER_00]: I agree with a hundred percent with what you said. [SPEAKER_00]: I couldn't even repeat what how I feel because it is so hard in your head to make sense of it. [SPEAKER_00]: And you made sense of it really well. [SPEAKER_00]: It's hard as someone who's known her that I've never seen that side of her and so it was hard to watch that and hear it and see the fallout knowing that I don't think it came out of a place of really being you know thinking that I think it just the wording was terrible it was stupid to say and you know the fallout has been something that [SPEAKER_00]: I've, you know, have taken it really personally because a similar situation happened to me, right, where the whole world turned on me. [SPEAKER_00]: So I know that feeling. [SPEAKER_00]: So I've been dealing with Jill on the aftermath and I think maybe you've been in touch with her or you tried to I know, but, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: It's it's been very difficult as imagine anyone. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, let's put aside the fact that now she lost a job that you correct. [SPEAKER_00]: She's been working on this for ages, right? [SPEAKER_00]: She has been trying to get back on TV. [SPEAKER_00]: And as we both know, she's the one that came up with this idea, brought it to Blink 49, got them to work on it. [SPEAKER_00]: she picked the cast. [SPEAKER_00]: You were, you know, someone she was talking to. [SPEAKER_00]: She was also talking to me. [SPEAKER_00]: I spoke to the same producers with her a couple months ago, and she was talking to me about being on the cast because they weren't going to be all housewives. [SPEAKER_00]: It was going to be some housewives and some not originally. [SPEAKER_00]: And obviously it didn't turn out that way. [SPEAKER_00]: So I've seen it from the beginning, and she was so into it. [SPEAKER_00]: And [SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's a cautionary tale in people are just things that you say, you've got to be very careful, no matter what your platform, but there's no tolerance for racist remarks and as that should be the case, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I do worry about her, but I also I have been in touch with her. [SPEAKER_00]: I watch these, I see these articles. [SPEAKER_00]: And it really is everywhere. [SPEAKER_00]: And I do feel like it's a lot of it is herd mentality. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you've heard a lot of people in the news are also saying very similar comments, which were just as bad, like Megan Kelly, or there have been some other people. [SPEAKER_00]: But I think the herd mentality is really jumped on this. [SPEAKER_00]: And as someone in that seat, that is really mentally, it really makes you mentally unstable. [SPEAKER_00]: Like I wanted to check on her to make sure she was OK and not jumping off a bridge. [SPEAKER_00]: Because you can't sleep. [SPEAKER_00]: you don't know when it will end. [SPEAKER_00]: You don't know if you should apologize or not or say something where you don't even really have time to reflect and react because so much is coming at you and your own friends are turning on you and if they're not turning on you they just don't want to talk to you they've disappeared because they think you're a bad look and they don't want to be seen. [SPEAKER_00]: And I think [SPEAKER_00]: What happened was really interesting because the production company, you know, fired her so quickly, but I think they really quickly realized she's bad for business, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this kind of a show is based on people wanting to come and watch and they [SPEAKER_00]: And again, we all know in housewives. [SPEAKER_00]: They love the toxic relationships, and they love all that. [SPEAKER_00]: But they're not going to come and watch if it's something that really is affecting them, that they're personally triggered by like racism or any of these comments. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's why it happened so quickly and swiftly. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's just my thought on that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that it's really interesting [SPEAKER_01]: has become one giant reality show. [SPEAKER_01]: So I remember, you know, when I started out doing, [SPEAKER_01]: reality television, you know, this show, Roni, or all of the housewife shows, they thrive on aspirational stories and lifestyle, they thrive on, you know, they love rags to riches stories and come back stories. [SPEAKER_01]: But the biggest part is the drama. [SPEAKER_01]: So when I when I started the show and there were two girls arguing and then I was just I just started I think it was Heather and Remel and I remember the producer came to me and said you know pick aside pick aside because they want everybody involved in the drama. [SPEAKER_01]: And since the beginning of time, people really are drawn to conflict. [SPEAKER_01]: And that's why people love, they watch it and they love to watch the housewives and they like to, you know, the girls will be arguing and then everybody picks a side and you know, and then the audience then picks a side. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, right. [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody loves to, you know, hurl at, [SPEAKER_01]: the opposing side that they're not on. [SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like this country is like that, like the politicians and the red and the blue has become these two conflicted sides, where people love to join a team, and people love to attack everybody else on the other team. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, you know, it's just Bethany, you know, sort of ranted, [SPEAKER_01]: yesterday about this whole problem. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: How it's she's right or white and there's no in the middle and there's a lack of conversation and she made a good point. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if I say something dumb, you say something dumb, it's like, I would rather somebody say, hey, that's dumb, let me explain why and like learn from it. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's my issue if I don't learn from it, right? [SPEAKER_00]: And yours, and whoever's. [SPEAKER_00]: But there's never the conversation anymore. [SPEAKER_00]: If this is what I believe, and this is why I think what you said was wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: It's just like this person is awful, or you know, or they're great. [SPEAKER_00]: And there's no in the middle, and you have to pick aside. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's really become absolutely terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: It's ruined personal friendships. [SPEAKER_00]: And then ruining people's lives in a bigger scale because the media takes a hold of that narrative. [SPEAKER_01]: completely. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, and it's like, if you, I'm like, afraid to say things. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm like, like, I feel like I, I'm like, I don't want to know what my politics is about. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: That's ridiculous. [SPEAKER_01]: Especially because I'm not, I'm not maga and I'm not so not woke. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's just, it's absolute. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm like, you know, I basically go back and forth all day long between Fox and CNN and I like to get [SPEAKER_01]: All different perspectives return everything and there's different issues where I feel different opinions on different outcomes in different ways to handle them, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, it's the black and white worldview that everybody has and the piling on and then, oh, you're, you're, you know, you're maga, you're rogue and I hate you, it's just insane, it's, it's isn't it isn't that as bad as racism? [SPEAKER_01]: I agree, I mean, is it not, is it not like someone because they're skin color, you know, I don't know, up there with not liking someone because of what they believe in, yeah, I mean, I think it's just as ignorant and it's religion. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think it's terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so divisive and it's just it's made this country really hard to function in. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I've become, I think you and I are similar. [SPEAKER_00]: We're like recluses some. [SPEAKER_00]: a little bit. [SPEAKER_00]: I have my little world and it's a lot of because of what I went through maybe and I'll ask you in a bit but like if it's because of what you went through being on the show but a lot of it is because that external stuff and people thinking they know you and commenting on anything you say or where or how you look when you're in public. [SPEAKER_00]: is a lot, became a lot for me. [SPEAKER_00]: So I like to interact with people that I know, and then at our age, I don't really bring new people in my world, it's really hard and you're right. [SPEAKER_00]: I go back and forth, I'm in the middle, but I also know what I think is right and wrong in terms of how people are treated. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't like when people are made fun of, or [SPEAKER_00]: you know a lot of on both sides there's a lot of that and it's I don't want that toxic arguing anymore I mean I feel like we grew up in that that was like normal to see a lot and especially you with the show you are on but like that's how I want in my life I don't want arguments all the time it gives me so much anxiety. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really terrible. [SPEAKER_01]: And again, I think that our society has just become one big reality show with everyone thriving on conflict and hating on people who are different. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, hating on people who have a different point of view. [SPEAKER_01]: What is that? [SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's, it's, it's so exaggerated, it's, it's just toxic, it's really toxic and there's no room for, there's very little room for conversation and I think part of it is the press because there isn't really any news anymore, there's only opinion channels. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: CNN is blue and Fox five is red and they it's like if you watch one, you know, you could along enough, you'll really just like the other side, right, and vice versa. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: And it just, I just think it's very toxic and there's shit and they're showing the most toxic clips that they choose, right? [SPEAKER_00]: So you can look at one and be horrified at what you're looking at and you can look at another and be just as horrified. [SPEAKER_00]: So unless you're somebody who knows that and knows to think down the middle and, you know, and really look at the facts, like you get swayed one way or the other. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, yeah, and I was at I was living in a blue state in New York for my whole life and then I moved to a red state and, you know, I, I think that intelligent people are people who have open minds. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think intelligent people are the ones who have the best schooling or who are so street smart or or quick-witted. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, all of those things are intelligence, but the most intelligent people, in my opinion, are the ones with open hearts and open minds. [SPEAKER_01]: And when I came to Florida, [SPEAKER_01]: to Miami. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought, well, we're going to the cowboy land and the one thing I did was I listened to people. [SPEAKER_01]: I have friends and family members who I don't agree with. [SPEAKER_01]: My own father, I often don't agree with. [SPEAKER_01]: I have good friends that [SPEAKER_01]: I, I don't agree with them on everything, and I listen, and I listen, and I do really understand different points of view now. [SPEAKER_01]: I really understand, you know, and I don't think there's always solutions, you know? [SPEAKER_01]: I, I, I, I think it's, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: terrible to go around and kick people out of this country who've been here and separate people from their families. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's horrible. [SPEAKER_01]: And I also think it's horrible that there are people here who are criminals and who are bringing drugs into our country. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, I don't... [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not like picking a side and hating one. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, what can we do to make this better for everybody, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, what can we do to make it to make it right? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think anybody wants drugs in our country and killing our people. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think anybody wants, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: people who are in this country, you know, hardworking people to be to be thrown out and separated from their families. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's heartbreaking all of it. [SPEAKER_00]: It really is. [SPEAKER_00]: And no, I agree with you and, you know, speaking of intelligence, just listening to speak, I forgot how smart you are. [SPEAKER_00]: This is why you need to be back on television and you need to be seen again because people really don't realize like you're really Intune with everything and very well spoken. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I just I really don't know. [SPEAKER_00]: So let's go back to a little later topic. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's go back to the golden life So as you said you thought you might be part of it and then I guess I got announced and were you kind of like taking off guard like wait, what happened? [SPEAKER_01]: I was, I think that, you know, in typical housewife family, in typical housewife fashion, you know, all the girls like no one gave me like a real heads up. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like talking to people and then, um, and I was like, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: I spoke to this producer and for like an hour and a half on the phone about what was going on. [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, to be honest, it wasn't like I wasn't just like, oh, I'm going to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: I was, you know, I don't really think about whether I'm going to do something like this until I have a contract in my hand. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Because I've learned that there's no reason. [SPEAKER_01]: And so [SPEAKER_01]: I was, I was just like talking to the producer for an hour and a half and I spoke to Jill and I actually, I was asked to see if I could film in my building and in, you know, and I live in the beach and so I was sort of sort of seeing kind of the home in the beach and can we film here and I was just sort of like, [SPEAKER_01]: You know, getting the temperature of what was the situation here, and then [SPEAKER_01]: And then the next thing I know it's on the news that this show is starting. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, well, gee, I couldn't somebody have given me a little heads up. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, like, hey, we decided to go with the OGs or with the girls who have bigger followers, accounts, or whatever, but, you know, I'm so used again. [SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, I'm very used to being the red head of stepchild in reality television. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm very comfortable there. [SPEAKER_00]: That's very funny. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Wait, and it's more upsetting when my teen daughter is like screaming at me. [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, obviously, obviously. [SPEAKER_00]: So what are your thoughts on the show in general? [SPEAKER_00]: Like, do you think it will do well? [SPEAKER_00]: Did they tell you much about like the storyline? [SPEAKER_00]: Because for me, all I heard is, you know, that they're, you know, we obviously know three of the cast I think already live here, three now. [SPEAKER_00]: I think you're going to rent down here. [SPEAKER_00]: And it's just going to be about them launching or something. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, what do you think about the storyline? [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I think that those girls are all really, um, a really fun and great and they have, you know, a fan base already. [SPEAKER_01]: So I can't see how it wouldn't do well and seeing them older now and. [SPEAKER_01]: sort of retired in Florida. [SPEAKER_01]: I think it could be a really adorable, funny, fun show. [SPEAKER_01]: And that actually was the appeal to me. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was what was sort of pitch to me that they were going to make it funny and not mean and not cut throat. [SPEAKER_01]: And I liked that aspect of it. [SPEAKER_01]: That I was drawn to. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think describe a women can get away with not being cut throat to each other though? [SPEAKER_01]: I think you can, I think you can, but you need to have, then you need to have a lot of humor. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And you need to have other aspirational stories in there. [SPEAKER_01]: I think the typically housewives has just too much drama. [SPEAKER_01]: And... [SPEAKER_01]: But it's not the drama that producers want. [SPEAKER_01]: What happens is it's like you're like gladiators with tits in this arena, okay? [SPEAKER_01]: And you're all trying to sort of create the drama and sometimes you get blindsided. [SPEAKER_01]: And what happens is sometimes you hurt people and you don't mean to. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, for example, I'll give you a great example. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I, I had a scene where I was making up with Ramona with a fight and then we were talking and nobody really had any story lines and story lines are really important for these shows. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, talking to her and I was like, oh, yeah, you know, and Carol's being such a bitch. [SPEAKER_01]: Like I don't understand, and we were off camera. [SPEAKER_01]: And she was like, really, what happened? [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh, I've got the book and this and that. [SPEAKER_01]: And she said, and I was like, I don't understand why she's being so, you know, so like, up any, but the book, she had a book, right? [SPEAKER_01]: She had a ghost writer and all this time. [SPEAKER_01]: And then, [SPEAKER_01]: And then Ramona was like, you need to bring this on air. [SPEAKER_01]: This is great storyline. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to bring it on air. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, OK. And I wasn't really that close with Carol at that point. [SPEAKER_01]: She had distance herself from me for whatever for stupid reasons. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway. [SPEAKER_01]: as he would get up in the storyline. [SPEAKER_01]: So I was like, okay, but the point is that I had no idea that by saying that I heard that she had a ghost writer would be so upsetting to her. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I thought she would just say, like, no, I didn't have a ghost writer, like, you know, if we told you that. [SPEAKER_01]: And we, you know, duke it out for, you know, a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: And then she would say, I didn't. [SPEAKER_01]: And I say, okay, I believe you, we're done. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: but it ended up being this big thing because she was really, really crushed by it and really upset and then she wouldn't even speak to me and the whole thing blew up and you know, it gets egged on by production and I just think that like I think I played really dirty but I didn't really mean to and then she played dirty and then she like attacked my husband in blogs and stuff and it got like very dirty and I could see the end up that it was found out she did have a ghost writer [SPEAKER_01]: You know, to the best of my knowledge, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: And I certainly, I was accused left-right and center about, you know, making it up and lying. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't lie. [SPEAKER_01]: And I definitely heard that from my publisher at the time. [SPEAKER_01]: And I would never just make something up, you know? [SPEAKER_01]: But like, the cook hair is right anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: She couldn't have handled it here. [SPEAKER_00]: Definitely. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And it just became very ugly. [SPEAKER_01]: And the point is is that, [SPEAKER_01]: That's how the show gets really ugly, is that there's like a lack of communication, people sort of get divided, and then everyone's tries to conquer, and then you just have politics, which is the conflict of one girl versus another, or team girl, A versus team girl, B. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you have the audience, the fans weighing in and attacking the side that, [SPEAKER_00]: they don't like or you know and it's just it's toxic it's like politics yeah for sure it's it's it's it's just the same it's the same thing and everyone loves it because it's like you know it's conflict and people love conflict so i'd love for you to give our the listeners some juice could you know all these girls so let's go through this cast for a second just give us your two cents on whatever your the first thing that comes to mind like how they'll do or how you think they'll be this season or whatever so let's start with Sonya [SPEAKER_01]: I think that Sonia is TV goals. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she, as a person, she couldn't hurt a fly. [SPEAKER_01]: She's such a nice person. [SPEAKER_01]: She's funny, she's well-meaning. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that she's always reality goal. [SPEAKER_01]: She could carry the show. [SPEAKER_01]: And then with her eyes closed. [SPEAKER_00]: OK, Ramona. [SPEAKER_01]: Ramona is just you never know what you're going to get with Ramona. [SPEAKER_01]: She's like a box of chocolates and she's very moody and I think it's like, you know, it's like a, I think the audience has like a love hate with her and sometimes it's like watching a car crash and sometimes you know, she can be endearing, you know, right, but people do like to watch it. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Kelly. [SPEAKER_01]: just so beautiful and cool and chic. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think before the housewives, I think I saw a picture of Kelly carrying a broken bag. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's when I found love with a broken bag. [SPEAKER_01]: Like her and Almic Pearson both had the broken. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I was like, oh my god, I have to have one of those. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, she's just chic. [SPEAKER_00]: She's always been chic for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you think she'll do well? [SPEAKER_00]: This sees that. [SPEAKER_00]: Like do you think she'll do well on the show? [SPEAKER_00]: Because I know she's a little quirky, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, she kind of stands out in a different way. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I've never worked with Kelly, but you didn't you need a balance, too. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you have like strong Ramona and Cookie Sonia, you know, maybe just a lighthearted, you know, quirky Kelly is perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: And that whole, that whole scary island with her, is like, you know, there's nothing real about that about her either. [SPEAKER_01]: She's a lovely, lovely person. [SPEAKER_01]: She's normal, sweet, right. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Luanne. [SPEAKER_01]: Luan, I knew before the show, ever. [SPEAKER_01]: She's, Luan's great. [SPEAKER_01]: She's just, you know, she's, she's a strong personality. [SPEAKER_01]: She's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: She's nice. [SPEAKER_01]: She's level-headed, you know, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll, she'll [SPEAKER_00]: you know, done some enhancements. [SPEAKER_00]: I think Ramona and Sonia have been vocal about the fact they got facelifts with which look really good. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I've seen them both in person. [SPEAKER_00]: They look great. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Anne, I don't ever think I've met in person, but all I can say is on screen, she looks fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: Like she's a really beautiful woman. [SPEAKER_01]: She looks even better in person. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you know, when I met her before the show ever, like in 2008, 2009, she was just beautiful. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And tall and glamorous. [SPEAKER_00]: OK. Now, Darinda, it's been said that she's just been announced. [SPEAKER_00]: She's joining the cast. [SPEAKER_00]: People are saying it's to replace Jill. [SPEAKER_00]: I heard she was joining the cast before this whole thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she definitely, she was already signed before the whole Jill Fiasco and I think she's obviously, I never work with Miranda. [SPEAKER_01]: I had dinner with her once. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she's super sweet. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she looks like Princess Diana with a little more edge to her. [SPEAKER_01]: I think she's, you know, really fun and really great TV and she's really soft skin. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but I think they're great and I was that's the thing the two things that I was drawn to I was like, okay, when they came to me I was like, okay, I like these girls, you know, I can you know, I like these girls and I would be I would you know I would be the only one that that's married [SPEAKER_01]: on the show, right? [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm also a kids at home. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Nobody else has kids at home. [SPEAKER_01]: But so I thought that could be different. [SPEAKER_01]: That would add something different to the show that I do of kids at home. [SPEAKER_01]: And I am married. [SPEAKER_01]: And I like those girls. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, I don't, I don't know Bethany very well at all. [SPEAKER_01]: We could talk about that in a minute. [SPEAKER_01]: And I also, you know, I don't know [SPEAKER_01]: After all that bad blood, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: But these girls, I mean, I adore them all. [SPEAKER_01]: We share a bond, having done the show together. [SPEAKER_01]: And I thought, okay, like the door wasn't, I wasn't slamming the door in this one. [SPEAKER_01]: And I can Florida. [SPEAKER_01]: I live here full time. [SPEAKER_00]: For real, it's not like you're coming down here. [SPEAKER_01]: For real, like they're all here part time. [SPEAKER_01]: Some of them are just going to come and film. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, with my family. [SPEAKER_00]: So, um, what are your thoughts? [SPEAKER_00]: Well, first of all, have you talked to any of these girls since they, since it was announced? [SPEAKER_01]: I have. [SPEAKER_00]: I have. [SPEAKER_00]: And so, um, are they like we need you? [SPEAKER_00]: We want you on. [SPEAKER_00]: We want you to come to our events. [SPEAKER_01]: One person, yes, yes, it was, we need, we need housewives, we need you, we love you and then, you know, there's, there's just, there are budgets to think about and dynamics and the end of the day it's up to production. [SPEAKER_01]: Bethany made a post, I think Bethany's really bright and unfiltered as we found out and she did say something that I, she said two things about this show that I could not have agreed with more. [SPEAKER_01]: One was that she has to protect her piece and I feel the same way. [SPEAKER_01]: I live on the water with my family. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, I cook a lot of meals, I have dogs, I help people who, you know, have our newly amputees and all of that, you know, fills my heart with everything that I need. [SPEAKER_01]: And so that's like the biggest thing, like, you know, it would do in a show like this. [SPEAKER_01]: you know, disrupt my piece, you know, especially if it's going to be one of these, you know, cut through, you know, crazy, crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: And also, but you've been open about suffering from anxiety, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: So that that goes with what you're saying. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, could it disrupt your piece, bring up this anxiety? [SPEAKER_00]: Have you found that being off TV has helped with the anxiety? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, people still know you just as much. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that fame, that bravo of the fame never goes away. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you know, I, it's not the being on TV or being with the girls that really makes me feel anxious. [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe that exacerbates my anxiety, but that's not really, that's not really it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's more about just like, I mean, that's part of it, I guess, I take that back. [SPEAKER_01]: It is part of it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like disrupting my piece. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like, is the whole stress of filming and the dynamics of the drama and you walk a very tight rope between, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: keeping the friendships alive and keeping the drama alive and keeping production happy. [SPEAKER_01]: And making sure that you can look in the mirror at the end of the day and all that. [SPEAKER_01]: And that drug will could exacerbate someone's anxiety. [SPEAKER_01]: It could exacerbate everybody's anxiety. [SPEAKER_01]: And then there's the audience, the fans, who love you, or hate you, or both. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's, you know, you don't have to have very thick skin to do this show. [SPEAKER_01]: I do have pretty thick skin, and if I didn't, I got it from doing the show, and so I just have to think about protecting my piece. [SPEAKER_01]: Again, I didn't get so far, I didn't get far enough down doing this show to really think about it seriously. [SPEAKER_01]: But that I really understood what Beth and he was saying about protecting her piece. [SPEAKER_01]: And she also lives in Florida with her daughter, [SPEAKER_01]: And I totally get that, and I have to also, my kids are teens now, one of them is an adult, two of them are teens. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know Harrison. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, when their children doesn't really matter, but when their teens, and they don't like the way you breathe, everything matters. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's a lot to think about. [SPEAKER_01]: And the other thing that Bethany said that [SPEAKER_01]: I thought was really, really smart was that she would never go on as a friend. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I'm not Bethany. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't pretend to be, she's up here, and I'm down here in the housewife land. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, she, but she said that she wouldn't want to go on because [SPEAKER_00]: as a friend because they pay you five dollars and then they just use your your footage, right, as well as they use your leg mass and just wear the shit out of it for free and everyone comes to watch for that snippet of time as a friend. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: They've milked my leg through my leg toss, like, you know, for ten years, right. [SPEAKER_01]: And I never got any residuals or anything for that. [SPEAKER_01]: And so it's like the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like I don't really see myself going on as a friend and, you know, [SPEAKER_00]: for $5, like unless it works for you, unless there's a trade-off. [SPEAKER_01]: Unless there was something I could leverage out of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and, you know, I don't see that right now. [SPEAKER_01]: And Reeve was like, you know, because we do get invited to parties and stuff, or, you know, we're not big party years, but he's like, well, better make sure if we go to someone's party that we're not being miced up. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we better, you're right. [SPEAKER_01]: We have to make sure we're not being [SPEAKER_01]: like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so funny. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, so, um, you know, that's basically the whole story about, you know, the show and and, um, um, but we could talk about Bethany. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's talk about Bethany. [SPEAKER_00]: So you never, you guys never overlapped on the show. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, but she, um, [SPEAKER_01]: No, but Bethany, Bethany definitely had a part and getting me on the show to start. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, I was gonna ask you, how did you get cast? [SPEAKER_00]: What if I told you that the idea that you only get parasites when you travel to some exotic country is flat wrong. [SPEAKER_00]: Millions of Americans carry parasites right now, often without symptoms. [SPEAKER_00]: For example, it's estimated that millions in the United States have been exposed to toxicara, a parasitic worm, yet most never even know it. [SPEAKER_00]: Paracites do not need a plain ticket. [SPEAKER_00]: They can enter through tap water, sushi, under cooked foods, or contaminated produce. [SPEAKER_00]: Some strains live in all stages. [SPEAKER_00]: Eggs, larva, adults, hidden in your gut, releasing toxins that sabotage your energy and digestion. [SPEAKER_00]: That's why I'm excited about Parify. [SPEAKER_00]: Kim Rogers 30-day full spectrum parasite cleanse. [SPEAKER_00]: The kit works by clearing parasites, worms, Candida, and heavy metals. [SPEAKER_00]: Targeting parasites in all life stages, supporting gut health, detox pathways, and toxin removal. [SPEAKER_00]: It's taken orally daily for 30 days with precise dosing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually doing it myself right now. [SPEAKER_00]: I started with the lymph cleanse than I'm doing the purify. [SPEAKER_00]: Want to dive deep? [SPEAKER_00]: I did a full interview with Kim Rogers, the warm queen herself, where we expose all the myths. [SPEAKER_00]: Understand the facts and show how to protect your body. [SPEAKER_00]: Listen to that episode if you haven't already. [SPEAKER_00]: Meanwhile, go to Rogershood.com and use the code Rachel to get 10% off of your order. [SPEAKER_01]: Bethany and I have a mutual friend, and his name is Jake Spitz. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I know Jake. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: I've no Jake for 30 years. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I went to I grew up with him. [SPEAKER_01]: We went to Ethical Culture and Fields since together. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my gosh. [SPEAKER_00]: And I went to Nightingale. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's how I knew him. [SPEAKER_00]: Because because he was best friends with my boyfriend that I had when I was 13 Jason Strauss, who then I dated again in my 20s and later in my 30s and Jake would come when we lived in Vegas because Jason opened up town. [SPEAKER_00]: So. [SPEAKER_01]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: I've known him for that. [SPEAKER_01]: You and I really, you and I really have a long history of overlap. [SPEAKER_00]: I know. [SPEAKER_00]: Very funny. [SPEAKER_00]: But sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: Go ahead. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, so that's how I, so that's how Jake came to me, you know, years ago and said we interviewed for the show and I was like definitely not those women are crazy and he's like just I want them to know. [SPEAKER_01]: Was that my husband? [SPEAKER_00]: That's fine. [SPEAKER_00]: How many years though was the show out before you even talked to them? [SPEAKER_01]: Three or four? [SPEAKER_00]: And it was a huge help, right? [SPEAKER_00]: It was a huge hit at the beginning. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's a long time ago. [SPEAKER_00]: I kind of forgot. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a huge hit. [SPEAKER_01]: And they wanted to change up the cast. [SPEAKER_01]: So they let go of Jill, Alex, and Kelly. [SPEAKER_01]: And they hired me, Carol, and Heather. [SPEAKER_01]: Got it, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And Bethany was like, you know, I hired this girl. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, she's got one line, blah, blah, blah, whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, it was just, you know, Bethany, Bethany is. [SPEAKER_01]: And that was at the only, you know, I, so I don't really know Bethany well at all, like she credits herself with getting me to show. [SPEAKER_01]: And she, uh, one sort of attacked me. [SPEAKER_01]: on Twitter or something, she attacked me because she was on the show, like her second round again, and they, and I was just being interviewed when they asked me about the alcohol and the toxicity and all that, and I, again, I don't lie. [SPEAKER_01]: And I said the truth, which is that I was asked to do a scene with Ramona, my second season, and we were supposed to make up, and the producer asked me to do a [SPEAKER_01]: with Ramona. [SPEAKER_01]: And I asked him if they could please fill the shot with water because I didn't want to drink alcohol that night at all. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was also taking on some antibiotics. [SPEAKER_01]: And he said, now, you have to take a real shot. [SPEAKER_01]: And I did feel like very pressured and very weird. [SPEAKER_01]: But anyway, that's not the story. [SPEAKER_01]: The story is that at the time Bethany was on the show when she sort of attacked me on social media. [SPEAKER_01]: And she said, you know, I take offense to this, you know, it's not true. [SPEAKER_01]: have like some sort of reality reckoning where she was saying the inverse was true. [SPEAKER_00]: So and brought the only thing and brought all these reality people with her to come down on Andy Cohen and all the production about the fact that they were abused or whatever with being made to drink and act out. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: And I, you know, listen, I can only tell you my experience with, you know, one product that one producer and that one scene. [SPEAKER_01]: I can, I always said there's, there's alcohol around, but the girls also a lot of the girls we love to drink a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: if it's the girls or the production, what came first, took another the egg, but besides that one incident where she sort of attacked me and accused me of lying on social media, I agree with what she said about collecting her piece, I agree with what Bethany said about not going on as a friend, I'm protecting your own business, what are as small or as big as that is. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, she's an incredible incredible [SPEAKER_01]: marketing genius, Bethany, and she's just this incredible fusion of authenticity and and marketing, and she's fast, you know, she's like really fast. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, you know, where everything's so fast today, you don't. [SPEAKER_00]: you know, she's not scared of anything. [SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't filter herself like last night. [SPEAKER_00]: She's getting out of the shower and she's going with the, you know, telling her version of something. [SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, I think some people rub them the wrong way. [SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, this is her and she is authentic. [SPEAKER_00]: And you've got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Whether or not you kind of like it or you don't. [SPEAKER_00]: It's, I mean, she's authentic. [SPEAKER_00]: And that's a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually loved her shower post. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was great. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was really great. [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it was spot on. [SPEAKER_01]: She said, she was just unaffraid and confident and like, you know, because there's been this backlash about also she posted a video and then she took it down and then she posted another video. [SPEAKER_01]: She changed it. [SPEAKER_01]: Her point about, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: Saying things wrong or saying things out of turn, making mistakes, saying things you may not mean, saying things that are off color, and for God's sakes, you know, let's stop killing each other, let's, let's, let's, let's bring each other up, you know, let's help each other out instead of like, gotcha, you know, and when you asked me to come on this show, I really appreciate it that you will like, listen, there's no gotcha moment here. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, in this climate, I really appreciated that. [SPEAKER_01]: I really, I really trusted you. [SPEAKER_01]: And I also think you're super smart and super kind and generous. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, it's like, let's, let's look, lift each other up. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's all, we're all in the same team here. [SPEAKER_01]: We're all in this team called life, you know? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And we're all in this team called America, you know? [SPEAKER_01]: So, we can either bring each other up or we can come together. [SPEAKER_01]: And, I don't, you know, I'm not that well-versed in politics. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not that well-versed in a lot of things. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I certainly fall into different opinions on different things. [SPEAKER_00]: Um, let's talk a little bit more about you being on the show. [SPEAKER_00]: So, so, did you find that it was easy for you to get cast or you're to go through a number of different trials with them? [SPEAKER_01]: Now, I was, I was cast, I mean, I, I was interviewed once and I was nine months pregnant with my daughter and I, I absolutely did not want to do the show. [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I just like, you know, not interested in nursing on camera and, um, and then the next year they came to me, they just hand to me, they handed me a contract. [SPEAKER_00]: Now, let me, um, how did Harry come into the whole thing? [SPEAKER_00]: because listen, I got to tell you as we both know, but Harry also lives down in Palm Beach and you know, I've also had a long friendship with Harry. [SPEAKER_00]: And I go to dinner with Harry or I'm out with Harry or even walk by Harry. [SPEAKER_00]: Harry is the biggest star of all the Bravo people, I feel like. [SPEAKER_00]: To this day, I mean, you can't walk two feet without somebody pushing me out of the way or throwing me a phone to take a picture of them together. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: No, yes, it's insane. [SPEAKER_00]: It's really insane. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And then people will say, oh, my God, you remember the episode here here and Harry, he's so funny because he'll be like, Oh, ha, ha, yeah, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And when they walk away, he'll be like, I have no idea what they were talking about. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember that. [SPEAKER_00]: singing at all. [SPEAKER_00]: But it's funny. [SPEAKER_00]: He's very beloved. [SPEAKER_00]: And he was a big part of the show. [SPEAKER_00]: So did he come on after you with you? [SPEAKER_00]: What happened there? [SPEAKER_01]: Um, production loved the fact that all the girls, you know, had a connection to Harry. [SPEAKER_01]: I was married to Harry, you know, we have a son together who's now 24. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, and all some of the girls were friends with Harry, some of the girls had slept with Harry, so they ate it all up. [SPEAKER_01]: He came on, um, gosh, he came on. [SPEAKER_01]: Was he on when I was there? [SPEAKER_01]: I think he came, I think he was on when I was on. [SPEAKER_01]: And then he came out a lot more when I was off. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so he remained after you. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, got it. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so it wasn't that you brought him on and then he had these relationships. [SPEAKER_00]: These were relationships he already had. [SPEAKER_00]: And it was just coincidence. [SPEAKER_00]: So he became part of the cast, kind of. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a friend of whatever that is. [SPEAKER_01]: Because Harry has relationships with all the women in your city. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my God. [SPEAKER_01]: Now, Palm Beach. [SPEAKER_00]: Right, well, that is true. [SPEAKER_00]: Congratulations, Harry. [SPEAKER_00]: But you got to love them. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they still talk about them. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure he will probably be in some scenes from this new show. [SPEAKER_00]: Wouldn't you think? [SPEAKER_01]: I would definitely think he's going to be on the show. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, definitely, definitely. [SPEAKER_01]: And I think that would be really cool. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think it's in my film. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I filmed a scene with Harry and our son. [SPEAKER_01]: And Harrison, I think way back then, I don't remember. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it aired. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if it got on the cutting room floor. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't remember. [SPEAKER_01]: But I do. [SPEAKER_01]: I love Harry. [SPEAKER_01]: Harry is always the nicest person in any room that you walk into. [SPEAKER_01]: And I just love him. [SPEAKER_01]: He's like, he's like, [SPEAKER_01]: Read and I consider, read considers Harry his brother. [SPEAKER_01]: I think Harry and Reed speak more often than I speak to Harry. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's really funny, and this whole... [SPEAKER_01]: like merging family situation because like sometimes Harry can't reach Harrison, sometimes Harry can't reach me. [SPEAKER_01]: So he always calls Reed and Reed always is available to talk to Harry. [SPEAKER_01]: And like there are times where like, you know, Harry and I are not as good as parents as Reed is Harry and I have gone to Reed over the years and been like, what do we do? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, that's great. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, read it's such a great stable human being. [SPEAKER_00]: So that's an obvious person to go to. [SPEAKER_00]: But that is so funny. [SPEAKER_00]: And I love hearing that you and Harry are on good terms. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, completely. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, Harry came over here around Christmas time with a girlfriend and that was, we had a good time. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, good. [SPEAKER_00]: OK. [SPEAKER_00]: So you mentioned before the scene where you threw your leg. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about that because it was an iconic scene. [SPEAKER_00]: Was that planned? [SPEAKER_00]: because I will tell you I just watch it again today to remind myself and it looked like a very quick I don't know if how that you just quickly said, you know, I'm as real or this is the only fake thing on me and through it on the table. [SPEAKER_00]: It was fantastic. [SPEAKER_00]: But had you planned that? [SPEAKER_01]: I did, I did plan it. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I couldn't plan it on 100%, but the girl's at all gone to Montana, I didn't go and they came back and production was like a Viva. [SPEAKER_01]: Montana was so boring. [SPEAKER_01]: They were like, it was so boring. [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, oh no, and then they were like, telling me that the girls are really mad I didn't go and I was like, okay, I was like, [SPEAKER_01]: What can we do? [SPEAKER_01]: They were asking me to create, to make something fun because this season was so boring. [SPEAKER_01]: I sat with some of the members of production. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, okay, let's make sure there's a tablecloth in the table. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know exactly what's going to happen, but if they start to come at me, [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'll, you know, maybe I'll, I'll take off my leg and make a big splash, you know, about that, and I'll, you know, try to get, you know, rubbed up. [SPEAKER_00]: So did the argument that Heather started was she was that real like was that her real emotion or was she like, egging you on or what was because wasn't it Heather you were fighting with? [SPEAKER_01]: I think so. [SPEAKER_01]: I think so. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I think she would probably was fighting with me, but you know, I don't think that. [SPEAKER_01]: Let me, I think she was like, you know, mad that I didn't go on the trip. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that was about it or that I was lying on my pelvis and they just just, you know, if you step away for a second, okay, if you have a group of friends and one person's not feeling well and they can't go on the trip, what other friends say to that person, you're a liar, you don't really feel well. [SPEAKER_01]: They'd like, oh my god, feel better. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we'll bring you back like pictures and we'll bring you back to things from the gift shop. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, no one's like, you're like, like, the you're lying and, you know, that's all production. [SPEAKER_01]: That's all let's make some drama. [SPEAKER_01]: So Heather definitely definitely wasn't really mad at me. [SPEAKER_01]: She was also being prodded by production. [SPEAKER_01]: I spoke to Heather actually last night. [SPEAKER_01]: I love her. [SPEAKER_01]: She's a sweetheart. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, she's just amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: She gave me some really good tips about menopause too. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, you'll have to tell me too. [SPEAKER_00]: Both of us, we were texting each other. [SPEAKER_00]: I got your text at like 230 in the middle of the night. [SPEAKER_00]: I texted you at like 430. [SPEAKER_00]: But by the way, I had read yours because I was also up. [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, let me think fell back asleep. [SPEAKER_00]: wrote you at 430. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's terrible. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's a whole nothing. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm asking, how old are you? [SPEAKER_00]: 51. [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: You know what? [SPEAKER_01]: Enjoy it. [SPEAKER_01]: Because every year, just it's worse and worse and worse. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I'm 55. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh my God. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, um, so that was, the Lexi was planned. [SPEAKER_01]: It was planned to, you know, make a splash and make entertainment. [SPEAKER_01]: And I, I like to entertain people at my own expense. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, I have no problem making fun of myself. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't take myself too seriously and that to me wasn't like such a big deal. [SPEAKER_01]: When as soon as it was done and the cameras went down we were all like some of the people with party were applauding and you know, we had their naval laughing and it was just really funny and fun and anybody knows me knows that I don't whip off my leg and throw it across the table. [SPEAKER_00]: would hope not. [SPEAKER_00]: But that's interesting because I think, you know, a lot of people wonder, or they, I think they know now. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a lot of this emotional escalation is part of the job, right? [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I did, did you see this as a job, or you felt like you are being filmed for your life. [SPEAKER_00]: And this was going to help you write a book or have a hair extension line. [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this was a job. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a job, 100% a job, and I understood the assignment, which was to create drama and create storyline, and to deliver, and it was almost like a tight rope of walking that job and surviving, because if you don't create drama and storyline, you're off. [SPEAKER_01]: but you get if you create too much storyline and too much drama, you're also off because you could become toxic. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like this really weird tight rope that you're walking and doing this show. [SPEAKER_01]: You definitely wanna do it more than one season. [SPEAKER_01]: And but also it would be nice to get a hair extension line or get a shampoo commercial or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's really hard as a housewife to get those things because you're always wrangled up in stupid drama. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And Bethany's been a good example of taking that and then making that her business as opposed to having to be on the show to make money. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: You know, and I guess Lillian has her singing show or her cabaret that she created out of it. [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, how's your dad? [SPEAKER_00]: Your dad was a huge part of your storyline. [SPEAKER_00]: People will want to know. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, so my dad is break. [SPEAKER_01]: He's 90. [SPEAKER_01]: He's in great shape. [SPEAKER_01]: He's in perfect physical shape and perfect mental shape. [SPEAKER_01]: He lives alone down the street from me here in Miami. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, no way. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's he dating 90. [SPEAKER_01]: And he's still is going out with young women. [SPEAKER_00]: No way. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, why oh my god, love him. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's really funny. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he would love you. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to come over. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to come for dinner. [SPEAKER_01]: I love or I'll bring him when I come to Palm Beach right now to see you. [SPEAKER_01]: He's just he's so he's so he's so he and I completely disagree on almost everything. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, you know, going back to the first example. [SPEAKER_01]: You can, you know, love people and disagree with them. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Blink 49 should be listening because your dad should probably also make a came out on the show. [SPEAKER_00]: I think people would love that. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, he was like, either loved or hated. [SPEAKER_01]: Like Harry, when my dad walks down the street, people want pictures with him. [SPEAKER_01]: Still? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, still, it's crazy. [SPEAKER_01]: People love my dad. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I got a lot of complaints about my dad online understandably. [SPEAKER_01]: He was so crude. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I would ask him before every scene. [SPEAKER_01]: I would be like, please, please. [SPEAKER_01]: just to behave yourself and I swear I think he almost just was like more raw just to get my go. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my gosh. [SPEAKER_01]: It was awful. [SPEAKER_00]: He did a great job because he really owned who he is though. [SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean? [SPEAKER_00]: Like he was his own character. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, he's, he is in real life a real character. [SPEAKER_01]: He's, and he's really, really brilliant. [SPEAKER_01]: He eats like a book a day and he always has. [SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, my dad's dad was graduated from Saint John's Law School when he was 18. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_01]: So there's like this real like lineage of intelligence that's going on on my dad's side. [SPEAKER_01]: It's really, um, [SPEAKER_01]: it's really amazing so my dad's really smart and he's just he's also like a wackadil you know like he's just like he is he is sometimes just no filter you know [SPEAKER_00]: Right, but that's what makes them lovable to most. [SPEAKER_01]: But he's like, and he loves Harry. [SPEAKER_01]: He was here when Harry came over. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, God. [SPEAKER_01]: He and Harry love each other. [SPEAKER_00]: Good. [SPEAKER_00]: Good. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, all right. [SPEAKER_00]: So for people that are listening in are now obsessed with you again, if they had forgotten about you a little bit because you haven't been on screen, what's next for you? [SPEAKER_00]: Look, what are you doing every day? [SPEAKER_00]: Are you obsessed with members only? [SPEAKER_00]: By the way, have you seen it? [SPEAKER_01]: No, no. [SPEAKER_01]: I haven't. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my gosh. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you watch reality TV at all? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't watch reality because it's not fun for me, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I like always see is the behind the scenes and all that. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: So we heard you like to cook, scripted. [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry. [SPEAKER_00]: You love to cook and then like are you watching something every night or you don't have like your favorite shows with read. [SPEAKER_01]: No, yeah, so read and I we watch a lot of scripted television. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: We just we just finished landman. [SPEAKER_01]: Me too. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, we was good. [SPEAKER_01]: We watched, um, we just watched New Remberg. [SPEAKER_01]: That was really good. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't know. [SPEAKER_01]: We have we've been we're like, we're kind of like, oh, like we fall asleep like nine o'clock and we're up at like four or five. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's true. [SPEAKER_00]: That way, there's nothing better than finding a really good show. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like I haven't we hadn't seen the diplomat. [SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, that's been out for years. [SPEAKER_00]: I guess, but there's like 26 episodes and like two seasons. [SPEAKER_00]: So that'll really take you a long time. [SPEAKER_00]: But like I love things like that. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I did. [SPEAKER_01]: I love the diplomat. [SPEAKER_01]: I want to watch masters of the air. [SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen them? [SPEAKER_00]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: Have you heard of it? [SPEAKER_01]: Especially really good masters of the air. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, yes. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, what am I a little am I? [SPEAKER_01]: We moved to Miami in 2022 full time. [SPEAKER_01]: We started during the pandemic. [SPEAKER_01]: And we live on the beach. [SPEAKER_01]: We just love it. [SPEAKER_01]: It's like very chill. [SPEAKER_01]: I love cooking in my kitchen overlooking the ocean. [SPEAKER_01]: I cook a lot. [SPEAKER_01]: I have two dogs and I have two kids at home, teenagers. [SPEAKER_01]: One of them is going to hear from colleges soon, so I'm going to only get to have one child in my house soon. [SPEAKER_01]: That's what I'm going to really come and visit you. [SPEAKER_01]: Right. [SPEAKER_01]: Can't wait. [SPEAKER_01]: And I continue to the best thing that happened from the show for me, which happened more afterwards, was that people come to me a lot to get help with being an amputee, a new amputee. [SPEAKER_00]: That's got to be amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: And I've been an amputee since I'm a little girl, so it's very easy for me to pull people out of the depths of sadness and to let them know they're going to be okay. [SPEAKER_01]: So I do a lot of that and the reason that people, you know, know of me to help them is because of the show. [SPEAKER_01]: So for that, I'm just forever grateful because that's what I like to do, I like to help people. [SPEAKER_00]: So is there like a charity or something that people, if they want to know more about that or they're listening and they want to meet you and ask you questions like where would they find all that information? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, absolutely. [SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, first of all, I'm really open on my Instagram account. [SPEAKER_01]: I try to answer all the comments, so anybody can send me DMs or messages. [SPEAKER_01]: I try to answer that. [SPEAKER_01]: I am answering that. [SPEAKER_01]: There's it's not anybody else. [SPEAKER_01]: There is there is an organization by a beautiful young woman who I counseled her name as Allie Truett and the organization is called Stronger than you think and about two years ago she had just graduated from, do you know the story? [SPEAKER_01]: No. [SPEAKER_01]: It's unbelievable. [SPEAKER_01]: She had just graduated [SPEAKER_01]: And she was on her way to Harvard with some fabulous job in between, on her way to Harvard Business School. [SPEAKER_01]: She went to one of the islands, I forgot, a Turks and Kakers. [SPEAKER_01]: She went to Turks and Kakers. [SPEAKER_01]: And she was snorkeling with her friend, who was also had been on this one team at Yale, so they were strong swimmers. [SPEAKER_01]: And the boat was far away from them and a shark. [SPEAKER_01]: was really aggressively attacking them and it took her for leg. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_01]: I know. [SPEAKER_01]: And anyway, she came to me through Robert Birchabac from Shark Tank. [SPEAKER_01]: And you know, she's just like this young blonde girl from Connecticut. [SPEAKER_00]: Now that you're telling me this, I remember seeing it, I think. [SPEAKER_00]: Was it in the paper or something? [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So this girl, [SPEAKER_01]: This girl, who's who's a beautiful family too, this girl, a year later, was participating in the Parallel Olympics in one a medal for swimming. [SPEAKER_01]: And she also started this organization, of which I'm on the board of, called Stronger Than You Think. [SPEAKER_01]: and she raises money to help people learn how to swim because it's an important skill, but also for people who need prosthetic women, young women who need or women who need prosthetics. [SPEAKER_01]: Insurance does a pay for prosthetics. [SPEAKER_01]: They pay for the bare bones minimum and it's so wrong because people need prosthetics to walk. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the insurance companies have no problem paying for, um, breast reconstruction, but, you know, a limb for swimming and a limb for skiing and a limb for walking and a limb for running, nope, they only allow you like one limb, and it doesn't have any cosmetic skin over it. [SPEAKER_01]: So my prosthetics have this very, um, sophisticated silicone skin on top, [SPEAKER_01]: as opposed looking down, it just like metal, and that's an out-of-pocket huge expense. [SPEAKER_01]: I think that everyone is entitled to that, especially women who care about it, just as much as women are entitled to have reconstructed breasts after cancer. [SPEAKER_01]: So, anyways, stronger than you think raises money and helps buy prosthetic limbs for women right now. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm on the board, so stronger than you think. [SPEAKER_01]: It's on Instagram. [SPEAKER_00]: We put it on the show in the show notes to make sure that, thank you, thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Any donation is not too small, and it's an incredible order. [SPEAKER_00]: Do they have fundraisers at all during the year? [SPEAKER_00]: Do they have fundraisers or anything during the year? [SPEAKER_01]: They do, they do, they do. [SPEAKER_00]: All right, I mean, we'll put that in the website, everything, on the, in the show notes. [SPEAKER_00]: But it was so good to connect with you. [SPEAKER_00]: I cannot wait for you to come to Palm Beach and have dinner with your family. [SPEAKER_00]: And they will live here. [SPEAKER_00]: And why, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, we can go there. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm never in Miami. [SPEAKER_00]: I feel like going to Miami is like going to Texas. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't know it. [SPEAKER_00]: It's scary. [SPEAKER_00]: It's, there's so much traffic. [SPEAKER_00]: It's so complicated. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true. [SPEAKER_00]: So it is. [SPEAKER_01]: It's intimidating. [SPEAKER_01]: It's, I don't even really, that's funny. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't really even like. [SPEAKER_01]: go around Miami all that much. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just sort of like living on my little beach playground and I go to dinner here and there, but I totally get it, I totally get it. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: And I hope that we will see you on our screens soon as a friend of as a cast member, whatever, but I think that there is one more thing. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm talking with some, I am talking with some, [SPEAKER_01]: women. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to say you're there. [SPEAKER_01]: But you know what? [SPEAKER_01]: I was thinking about doing a show starting reading just the way Jill created a show. [SPEAKER_01]: I have some ideas to create a fabulous show. [SPEAKER_00]: Amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: Can you share anything with us or you want to keep it quiet? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to keep it quiet for now. [SPEAKER_00]: OK, but I love you, at least. [SPEAKER_00]: Said that. [SPEAKER_00]: Well, I wish you the best of luck with that. [SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, there's room for everyone, right? [SPEAKER_00]: And you are so smart and fabulous. [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that people want to see you. [SPEAKER_00]: And I would be shocked that that wouldn't happen for you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: It's so great talking to you. [SPEAKER_00]: So we're talking to you. [SPEAKER_00]: So again, what's your Instagram that people can re-evolume? [SPEAKER_01]: It's at a Viva Dressher.
