Now here's Matt Jones quarterback. 00:01:05 Speaker 4: I remember two Exhucky Sports Radio eightf I'm nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. All I wanna talk a little bit about an announced with this mad this morning. For those of you who didn't see Kentucky Sports Radio today, there was a merger. We acquired UH Cats Illustrated, and by we, I mean KSR, the website, which I no longer own, but I still own the name. KSR. On three Sports owns the website and UH. Because I own the name, when they do stuff like this, I have to be a part of it. I was happy to hear the news. Justin Rowland and Jeff Drummond, who are named you probably if you follow Kentucky know they'll be joining KSR. I have a long explanation on the website about kind of what's gonna happen. Long story short, House of Blue, which is the Cat's Illustrated main place, will join KSR, but will remain separate so that they can the people there get to have their own little community. So they'll be the KSR community and the House of Blue community. Justin and Jeff will work on House of Blue, but then Jeff Drummond will do baseball for Kentucky for KSR. If you're a message board person, you can learn more about all the details there. I wanted to give a more big picture thing because I'm a big person about history. Okay, so let's just do a quick history of covering Kentucky sports. Kat's pause was obviously like the first major fan side it was print. So I'm really starting with the internet, all right. So when the Internet first comes online, Kentucky fans gather. The first place Kentucky fansgether were AOL forums on America Online. Did you know that? 00:02:51 Speaker 5: No. 00:02:51 Speaker 4: I did the America Online Kentucky Forum, which Jeff Drummond was one of the main people did. He was like twenty years old. Wow, And that was like the first place on the Internet where Kentucky fans gathered to talk about kentuckhuh America Online for then a number of other small sites got created. One was called Kentucky Sports report R. 00:03:17 Speaker 2: I remember I. 00:03:18 Speaker 4: Discovered that site online in like nineteen ninety eight while I was at Transylvania. There was Wildcat Faithful. There was something called Wildcat Nation. There was something called Alliance Sports Kentucky. All of these various like fan sites popped up. I remember in college getting on logging in creating my account mcglore fifty two on Kentucky Sports Report, and I was like, look, there's all these people talking about Kentucky. 00:03:49 Speaker 2: How exciting. I was involved with that. You were on Kentucky Sports Report. I gave him reports. 00:03:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, wait a minute, you gave reports to Kentucky Sports Report. Yeah. 00:04:00 Speaker 2: If we had something in the newsroom at Channel eighteen, we would have put it on Kentucky Sports Report because Larry Vaught got me involved with it. 00:04:07 Speaker 4: I remember you being on it. I didn't know it was because you were reporting. 00:04:11 Speaker 2: You were the reports. 00:04:12 Speaker 6: It would have been Kentucky's Sports without you. 00:04:13 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and shit, didn't he added the reports. 00:04:17 Speaker 7: I didn't know Ryan was a contributor. 00:04:19 Speaker 4: I didn't eat a contributor, which it's hard to get into right for our right, But he wouldn't do. 00:04:24 Speaker 2: You guys never asked me to write. 00:04:25 Speaker 4: He had he'd already reported everything, a lot of reports. So all of these sites exist. So in the late nineties early two thousands, it's kind of a free for all and people are creating blogs and all this, and I go, you know what, I want to create a blog, and I Create, Create Kentucky Sports Radio, and so for many years there were all these different sites. Then starting in the late two thousand, like two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight, two thousand and nine, things started to consolidate. You had some of those sites I just mentioned went away. Cat's Pause became the official rival site, and that was the major site for a long time. Cat's Pause. I had Kentucky Sports Radio and that kind of became the second major site. And then there was a site called Kentucky dot scout dot com. 00:05:21 Speaker 2: You remember that one. 00:05:22 Speaker 4: That one's gone over the years. It was kind of me and the Cat's Palls, Me and the Cat's Paws. Well, I don't know what happened. Cat's Pause leaves goes out on their own, and Cat's what was Cat's Paws becomes Cats Illustrated. My point is to say, now Cats Illustrated is joining KSR. And what I think is exciting is thirty years of Kentucky fan interaction online, literally thirty years going back to the UK America online for them all the way through the various iterations, and there have been more. I mentioned some of the big ones, but there were many, many others. They all kind of condensed into these two entities that are now one entity, and Kentucky Sports Radio KSR has now in many ways become the last thing standing from thirty years of Kentucky fans finding themselves on the Internet and discussing and like celebrating the cats with each other. And I'm really proud of watching that history because I've been a part of a lot of it. I wasn't there at the very beginning, but I was pretty close and watching all of that business develop and all of those communities develop, and now you kind of are with one and it is neat and to see all that history, including Jeff Drummond, who was there at the beginning, to all come together in this moment where you have Tyler Drew, Justin Rowland, Jeff Drummond, et cetera. In one point, you. 00:07:13 Speaker 2: Should be proud. You know, you guys are kind of the last one standing, you know who. I never would have thought back in the day that Catch Paul's would be the guy that would come into you. Thought it might be the other way around. But you guys have withstood the test of time. And now Jeff Drummond, like you said, man, he's got his finger on the pulls just as much as anybody in this in this market. 00:07:29 Speaker 4: He does. And you know, when I started the website, it was really about business. It was initially about fun and then slowly became about business. And I realized, look, there's all these there's all these sites where you have to pay. Will be free. 00:07:45 Speaker 2: That made a big difference. 00:07:46 Speaker 4: Will be free. And at the time, the economic model of the internet it worked. People spent a lot of money on Internet advertising and we were able to flourish and everyone else we kind of left everybody else in the duck. 00:07:58 Speaker 2: Huh. 00:08:00 Speaker 4: It's now become full circle that because of social media, it's harder to just be free. You have to have a free component and a paid component. And now we will be both the biggest free and the biggest paid component, which is like just business. It's just how you have to do it now. But Drew, you've been there for a lot of this. You kind of started in like two thousand and nine, so it's crazy to see all of these thirty years of things come together to one place. 00:08:33 Speaker 6: It is crazy how much the landscape has changed, even before the news today And you know, you all don't go all the time, but you walk in these press conferences and it's. 00:08:42 Speaker 2: Like, who are these people? 00:08:44 Speaker 6: But then the ones still standing, I mean, Jeff Drummond's still at all of them. In fact, I'm love to work with Jeff. He's I don't have a lot of friends in media, but when I go to things, always friendly with Jeff, love to work with him. I know Justin's not local. I don't know him as well, but glad to add them. But just seeing how much has changed. But we're just still logging into this thing. It's different, it's added more people, it's gotten much better. But I remember when I started almost seventeen years ago, and you know, we got made fun of a bit, laughed a little bit. People didn't think we'd be there very long. We're still here and still growing. 00:09:12 Speaker 2: Frat boy journalism. I used to call you guys, you guys, well, you were. 00:09:15 Speaker 4: That shit and it was kind of like him whining about the woman in Jackson. 00:09:18 Speaker 7: I'm sure didn't like you guys. 00:09:20 Speaker 4: Of course he did. 00:09:22 Speaker 7: He was a real news guy. 00:09:23 Speaker 2: Now he was a real news guy. 00:09:24 Speaker 4: And I remet listen, when I first started, there were fifty people at every press conference. They didn't think I should be there. It was very controversial. The first time I got a press critage. 00:09:35 Speaker 8: Huh. 00:09:35 Speaker 4: People were very mad. They said, I, you are not you should not be here. 00:09:40 Speaker 2: What's a blogger? Why are they giving him a credential? 00:09:43 Speaker 4: And now essentially it's the last one state. 00:09:48 Speaker 2: Yeah, would you guess should be very proud of that. 00:09:50 Speaker 6: And the ones hanging on or doing the blogging things. 00:09:53 Speaker 4: Hanging on have just done what we've done. And there's a whole new generation of kids. And I saw this at the game Saturday night. I don't know who any of them are. They are all these kids, they're all twenty one to twenty seven, and they're all trying to make it and they're all doing their own thing, and I wish it's funny now they attack us the way I used to attack the mainstream media, But I wish them the best, Like they're trying to fulfill their dreams too, So you know, I'm not gonna do to them what people did to us. We had a couple of them just attack us on Friday, and I got mad, and then I also thought, well, I probably would have done that back in the day, So instead I wrote them private notes and was like, hey, so you know, like I'm here to help you. I'm not trying to fight with you. But it's funny how it comes full circle from me typing in mcglore fifty two and from Jeff drumming logging into AOL in nineteen ninety five, and now you get to this right now. 00:10:52 Speaker 6: Jeff had to wait for people to get off the phone so he can we could comment on sports. 00:10:57 Speaker 2: I have a question. So there for a while I was like, right, and Scout, where are they now in the. 00:11:02 Speaker 4: I don't know if Scout even exists. Rivals is now part of ON three, so that's gone. Yeah, And then I think twenty four to seven sports still exists, which what is left of the Cats pauses there, gotcha, So that's kind of the landscape. And then the Harrold leader in the career journal exists, but they're not nearly as many people read that as used to. 00:11:25 Speaker 6: So to nerd out, we already had great baseball coverage the last couple of years, but Jeff is gonna step in and help with that too. I think baseball coverage specifically is going to have a huge bump with he and luck At sharing the beat this year, and it's gonna be a good season, so you know everything's getting better. Rolling will be a big asset too. But I'm excited to see baseball get even more coverage with more people. 00:11:45 Speaker 4: I totally agree with you about that wild cat, Cory, go ahead. 00:11:49 Speaker 9: What's up, Matt. I was just gonna say, years ago, would have been mad at Mario. 00:11:54 Speaker 4: Heck yeah, he would have been mad. He would Ryan would have been doing He would have been one of the people online complained about that. Lady, Cory, you know it. 00:12:03 Speaker 9: Yeah, And another thing got give more Pope credit running the offense through moreno Moreno. If I said it right, Malachi Malach, he looked like Amrio a little bit. Man. I don't know if it was talking about the post game, but we did a lot of just sending it to him and then run and cuts off of him. I ain't up. 00:12:25 Speaker 4: I appreciate the call. They did a lot more playing through the post. They played through Moreno Some did it a couple of times with Garrison did it a couple of times. Like they played through the post a lot. They also played through the post with Cam at the post, who would then kick out and then he would run out for three. I just thought there was so much more movement in the offense. 00:12:43 Speaker 2: So the question is is that's because Lowe was not out there. 00:12:46 Speaker 4: I think it was happening any way, but I think that just exacerbated it even more. There are people who will tell you that when we started shooting poorly at the beginning of the year, the staff became convinced we have to run different offense because we can't shoot, and it just didn't work for the personnel that they had. And now they're going back and saying, probably we're gonna have to run the offense we were gonna run, and we better hope we learned to shoot. Yeah, I think that's kind of what it's gonna be. We're gonna run the offense that I run, and let's hope it we learned to shoot. That's the way I think they're gonna have to do it. 00:13:20 Speaker 6: They were so fun last year as we saw a Mario could bring it up the court and that five out and Mary could hit anyone with a pass. I know Marina and Garrison they got a little bit of that. Looking back at Mario Williams was a unicorn and now with this team, Pope needs to get back to having a guy on the block. And run things completely different because the five out with this group, it just didn't work. It just didn't work. 00:13:38 Speaker 10: Donnie, go ahead, Donnie, Yes, a few things. First time caller from Madisonville. 00:13:46 Speaker 2: Who are hey? Shout out? 00:13:51 Speaker 10: So First Colin Chandler. His shot looks all cord this year compared to last year. Forget the technology. We got twenty assistant coaches. Figure out what he's doing. 00:14:09 Speaker 4: Am I right? Do you make three threes? 00:14:11 Speaker 2: He was on one of the few guys that actually hit one against Missouri too. 00:14:14 Speaker 4: Yeah. I think it's hopefully that's turning around a little bit. What's your next day? 00:14:21 Speaker 10: My next question? My next one is Brenda Garrison went over always got the ball. If he will work to get open o Wake and hit him with his eyes closed because he's played with him so much. And my third thing is in football, Will Stein, we have got to have a dude on the defensive line. 00:14:50 Speaker 4: They know that, they know that I appreciate the call they've got. They've been trying to get one or two. Those are very expensive guys, but they I do think that's a position that they are are. That's one of the ones along with wide receiver. They're trying to get a final a final piece. Start the new year off straw and by taking care of yourself and that includes your skin. Prioritize your skin health rind whether it's persistent act me, fine lines, or a spot you've been meaning to check. We've talked about it. Are you gonna get that check? 00:15:18 Speaker 8: Yeah? 00:15:19 Speaker 2: I got this spot on my face. I gotta get checked out. 00:15:21 Speaker 4: Well, how about the Kentucky Skin Cancer Say, don't forget to check it out. Kentucky Skin Cancercenter dot com. Go see one. It's you need to go to get that checked out. 00:15:30 Speaker 2: Yeah, you were. You were worried about me the other day. 00:15:32 Speaker 4: I am worried about you. That's why you need to go to the Kentucky Skin Cancer Center dot com. We'll take a break right backs Cancer Welcome back, Turkey Sports Radio. UK women got their second top five win of the year last year yesterday, first time in the history of UK women's basketball they've won two top five games in a season. They beat Oklahoma at home in front of a great crowd. You know, drop the game in Alabama, but then come back and beat number five Oklahoma. Huge win for a Kenny Brooks. Yeah, kind of thriller. They were tired. 00:16:02 Speaker 6: I believe in fifty seven late in the game, and Jordan Obi scored four straight points to give Kentucky the win. Fourth quarter defense O Kahoma didn't score for like the last four minutes, so pulled away late. Claire Strack another big game. She's just we don't talk about her enough this year for how good she's been had another double double. They're just looking so good there. And you know, if you're gonna drop one and then win that when I'm fine with the results of dropping Alabama. Now I'm showing you can contend in such a hard league. 00:16:26 Speaker 2: You talk about you on the toughness of Jaalen Lowell man that Tony Morgan was cramping up. She could hardly walk up and down the floor, but she stayed out there doing everything you could to stay on the court. It was kind of a. 00:16:35 Speaker 4: Great atmosphere there. I thought about going, but we had the NFL stuff with all those playoff games this day, so I didn't. But I heard it was awesome in there. 00:16:42 Speaker 2: It sounded like it was awesome just watching it on the broadcast. 00:16:45 Speaker 4: Yeah, the big win. 00:16:46 Speaker 6: We move into the top five. Now you're sixth. You beat the fifth ranked team, News just to take their spot though, come on, just give it to them, Okay. 00:16:53 Speaker 4: I hope they move up. UK baseball. By the way, preseason rankings came out today, they're eighteenth. 00:16:59 Speaker 2: Nice. Very cool. 00:17:01 Speaker 4: Somebody wrote I saw one of the guys at D one Baseball said Kentucky might have the first or second best starting rotation in college baseball. 00:17:11 Speaker 2: Wow. 00:17:11 Speaker 4: Really they got some transfer from Houston Shannon who can like make the ball go? 00:17:17 Speaker 7: Oh really like that? Yeah, well that kind of pitch anybody can hit. 00:17:21 Speaker 2: You can't hit a pill pitch. 00:17:23 Speaker 7: So he's just gonna have a no hitter every game. 00:17:25 Speaker 4: It's gonna be crazy. He's he's got electric stuff. So I'm excited about baseball program. I think he will played at Houston and now he plays for US. 00:17:34 Speaker 2: Nice. 00:17:35 Speaker 4: So uh. By the way, going to the back at the basketball game Saturday, very cool RUPs Runts were there. Pat Riley gave a speech to the crowd. It was neat I talked about on the post game show, all these little kids coming up and getting pictures with them. I thought that was really. 00:17:49 Speaker 2: Cool, very historical moment, you know, to be these guys pushing eighty years old out there and one of the most beloved teams in our history of college UK basketball, and it was so nice to see how the crowd responded to him. He said, guys were bringing their kids down to get their pictures taken with some of their idols and such swag. 00:18:06 Speaker 4: He does just swag when you were eighty years old, and good. 00:18:13 Speaker 6: To see as many of them out there were. But then when Pat's addressing the crowd, he's like thanking the fans. He's like, I realized most of you weren't even here to watch us, but we think you. 00:18:21 Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't get they didn't play his speech, but everybody talked about how awesome it was. Like he got emotional. 00:18:27 Speaker 4: He did get emotional. 00:18:28 Speaker 2: You know, he hasn't. 00:18:29 Speaker 4: I don't know that he's talked a lot here. You know, sometimes he didn't even come for a long time. 00:18:34 Speaker 6: I say, even said that I never got a chance to thank you when I left. That might have been the first time he's really talked to the fans. 00:18:40 Speaker 2: To me since I've been here. I think this is just like the third time he's ever even been here, because you know, he's usually he's involved with he. 00:18:45 Speaker 4: Was coaching GM right or something like that. 00:18:48 Speaker 2: Right, So I'm glad they gave him a chance to kind of address the crowd a little bit. 00:18:50 Speaker 10: It was. 00:18:51 Speaker 2: It was awesome. 00:18:52 Speaker 4: Yeah, very nice, Cindy. Go ahead, Cindy, Hey, thanks for. 00:18:56 Speaker 11: Taking my call. A couple of things. On Saturday, we were sitting behind the student section behind the eruption zone. My friend saw will Stein hugging this really big man. We were like, something's going on, okay, Then the students started going crazy. Well, my friend ran out to the end of the aisle and she said, I'm getting my picture made for this guy. She said, I've got no idea who he is. So we have a great photo of her hugged up with Beau Barnes. And it was so good to see will Stein engage with the crowd and to see the Cats play hard and bring home a win. And I'm very happy that we would. 00:19:40 Speaker 4: Well, let's talk about the Bau Barns thing, because I think it was awesome. Cindy, you explained exactly what happened. I appreciate the call. So Bau Barnes is on his visit, okay. And I heard from some folks at UK that were maybe like, hey, you know, maybe we should get the students to know bow Barnes is here. So before the game, Shannon, you know, I I don't know any. 00:20:07 Speaker 2: Students, Josiah there you go. 00:20:11 Speaker 4: Well he wasn't there. 00:20:12 Speaker 2: He was there? 00:20:13 Speaker 4: Well, I didn't see he would have been good to know at the time, but I kind of went to the front row there and a Channon and I was like, Hey, there's this guy named bow Barnes. What does he looked like? I don't know, but he's probably on your phone. Right he comes out start chanting, you know, like boom boom, what at the heck of a chance it'd be a good to what else you gonna chant. 00:20:42 Speaker 2: Bow barns ooh Barnes or. 00:20:48 Speaker 4: How about boa? Or he could do like the CALIPERI just bo So anyway, now, I don't know if they did when he came out. I'm not sure if they realized it was him, Okay Smith, they might. 00:21:06 Speaker 7: Looked like well, but. 00:21:07 Speaker 2: Maybe they looked it up. 00:21:09 Speaker 4: Okay. So point being, will Stein and bau Barnes end up standing right next to the student section, right over there where Mitch scowls during the games. You know what I'm talking about, right in front of the bench, yeh. And bau Barnes apparently whispered into Stein's ear I'm coming here. Will, like I think they thought it was possible, but they didn't know for sure. And he like celebrates like jumps and hugs it. Well, the students all see it, and apparently then Will looks at the students and goes, he just committed bou Barnes. And then the students go crazy, and of course all the stadium or the arena now sees it happening. 00:21:51 Speaker 5: Huh. 00:21:51 Speaker 4: And it all happens right there. It was a spontaneous moment that unless you were sitting right there in the student section, apparently you wouldn't have seen. I had already left when it happened, but that was, uh, that apparently occurred. 00:22:01 Speaker 6: I love that moment, surprising him. Also, this is a huge recruit, this saidn't just one guy on your list. This is I might have been the player you mentioned earlier, top recruit out of high school. But to do it in reparena like that, get the reaction was awesome. I think even gave Mitch a little dep And. 00:22:14 Speaker 4: In terms of portal now, it's hard to get surprised because they have to work out these deals. But I think from what I understand talking to people, they were genuinely spread. They didn't expect him to say that at that. 00:22:26 Speaker 6: Moment mid game. It makes me wonder where in the game was it like the the Brother's Pizza cam. Was it the Snacker. 00:22:32 Speaker 4: Moy He saw we saw money money and decided I have to be He just couldn't stop tapping his feet. 00:22:38 Speaker 6: He's like, oh, this is fun. 00:22:39 Speaker 4: See that's like one of those spontaneous things. That's kind of a cool moment that happened at the game. 00:22:43 Speaker 2: Yeah, you said a spontaneous moment, but it was scripted perfectly for him to do that at that moment at the game. Scripted scripted means it was played. This was spontaneous for him to go up to coach, I want to commit right now here at the game. I'm telling him. He like he got involve in the mold that that will was surprised. 00:22:59 Speaker 4: Yeah, now you know I wasn't. I didn't, but I'm told he was genuinely so that they thought it could happen, but they didn't know it was gonna happen in that moment. 00:23:07 Speaker 6: Very cool during the game. 00:23:08 Speaker 2: You can do that the game like. 00:23:10 Speaker 4: It was during the time out of the. 00:23:11 Speaker 2: Game, perfect get the crowd involved with it. 00:23:13 Speaker 4: Students were there and they were going booh, boo boo. Actually, I don't know if they did. That's what I was hoping they would do it. I'm seven, take a break, be right back. Ks R. 00:23:25 Speaker 2: TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:28 Speaker 6: He'll make them pay. 00:23:30 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:33 Speaker 7: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:35 Speaker 4: Welcome back, Teke you Sports Radio. I don't know for people out there, there's gonna be a lot of people that will care about this announcement, and they might not know. The kh SAA scoreboard, which is where you would get the scores Shannon of all the games, right, basketball and. 00:23:50 Speaker 2: Football's RYE Herds. I always said ry Hard's. I'm not for sure exactly how to pronounce. 00:23:55 Speaker 4: It r I h E r d s dot com, but it was you could link it from the KHSAA website. Right. Yes, it is shutting down. You just bummed me out in June. This is where people got the high school scores for like twenty five years. You news directors, that's where you got the score. 00:24:13 Speaker 2: We got a score girls basketball soccer, baseball. They had all the scoreboards on there. I can't believe they're gonna it's gonna disappear. And the history of years past, it's all right there, all gone. Come on, man, some website. 00:24:28 Speaker 6: I was just say when one door closed me, there's one, some. 00:24:30 Speaker 4: Website that would do it up on the get that. Yeah, but I don't even know how do you even run that thing? I mean, I'm not gonna spend Friday. 00:24:39 Speaker 7: Nights put that scores up. You get to call people say what was the score in the high school? 00:24:43 Speaker 4: Got the score? 00:24:44 Speaker 7: Some had to report it. 00:24:45 Speaker 6: Because sometimes they would even have the box score would be very detailed. 00:24:49 Speaker 2: Yeah they would, He's right, not all of. 00:24:51 Speaker 6: Them would, but some would send in the full box, they. 00:24:53 Speaker 4: Say, But not gonna do it anymore. 00:24:54 Speaker 2: Bummer, you just bummed me out. 00:24:56 Speaker 6: No, no this. 00:24:57 Speaker 4: I mean, well, there's a website that could go for it. 00:25:01 Speaker 2: But I mean, who's doing all that work? 00:25:03 Speaker 4: It ain't gonna be me. 00:25:04 Speaker 2: Hey, Ryan Lemon, there you John's report dot co a Friday night. 00:25:11 Speaker 4: What are you doing? 00:25:12 Speaker 10: Right? 00:25:12 Speaker 7: Yeah, he's doing pa work anyway somewhere might and. 00:25:15 Speaker 4: You're not getting paid to do a George Rogers Clark tennis match. This would be a better gig for you. 00:25:19 Speaker 6: It'd be good show preps. When Matt asked you the put them all out. 00:25:24 Speaker 4: You could sit there by the phone. You can talk to all those people as they call in. 00:25:27 Speaker 6: No, he wouldn't get him off the phone. They'd start talking about something from the text because you would take forever. 00:25:33 Speaker 2: I feel like you'd be good at that. 00:25:34 Speaker 6: Man the right, right hurt hers. See we're onto something here. 00:25:42 Speaker 2: What a bummer? 00:25:43 Speaker 4: Yeah, well apparently that just got announced today too. I didn't have anything to do with that one. Ray Davis First Team All NFL. Oh, can we do better than that? Nobody's right there you go. First time someone's been All in the FL first Team All NFL from Kentucky since DERMANI DAWs. 00:26:01 Speaker 2: Was it really that far? 00:26:02 Speaker 4: It's gone that far? He was for kick returning. Yeah, right, has not been a first team All Pro from Kentucky since DERMANI Doss. 00:26:10 Speaker 2: There are two All pros that are on this show. 00:26:12 Speaker 6: Don't forget the other one. 00:26:13 Speaker 2: Devin Key also named All. 00:26:15 Speaker 4: Pro and Key All Pro. 00:26:17 Speaker 2: Congratulations, So two of the six special teamers have been on this show. You expecting that, Well, he led the NFL in special teams tackles, like he almost made the Pro Bowl because he led the league in tackle set the Denver Broncos record for special teams tackles. 00:26:34 Speaker 6: I hadn't kept up with him that close to but when that Broncos graphic popped up with their All Pros and I saw his picture, That's how found out. I was stunned. I know he's been playing well, but first team All Pros. Another conversation, super Bowl. 00:26:46 Speaker 2: Don't think I'm gonna try. 00:26:49 Speaker 4: I don't think I'm gonna try that. 00:26:53 Speaker 7: He's not gonna try. He really doesn't want to go. 00:26:59 Speaker 2: You guys won't take me. I want to go. Have Dante take me. 00:27:01 Speaker 4: Don't think I'm gonna try. Don't dare me to try. I'll say this, How about this, We'll make a deal with Okay, if Devin Key makes a Super. 00:27:14 Speaker 2: Bowl, Yes, say it, we'll road. 00:27:17 Speaker 4: Trip out there. Yeah, you can come with say it instead of flying. 00:27:20 Speaker 2: I don't have to go to your special fancy. He doesn't even have to go. 00:27:24 Speaker 7: He can do a road trip without having to go, or not have to go. 00:27:26 Speaker 4: But I'll welcome you to go if you If Devin makes it, we'll dry and we'll make that our road trip and you can go. 00:27:33 Speaker 2: Well, thank you. That's very sweet of you, and that would be fun. 00:27:36 Speaker 4: Get on the road, drive to San Francisco. 00:27:38 Speaker 6: I'm out on the Broncos. 00:27:40 Speaker 9: Now. 00:27:40 Speaker 6: We were so excited about our flight. 00:27:43 Speaker 4: It's for you. We owe it to Ryan and then you can sleep, you know. Okay, here's we'll let you sleep with Mario. No Billy loses his room. You get to share the room with Billy. 00:27:55 Speaker 2: Because you're on the road ninety of the time. Shannon's my roommate. 00:27:59 Speaker 4: Well, we all have single rooms. But I'll tell Billy, if the Broncos make it, you're staying with Billy. 00:28:04 Speaker 2: I mean, that's pretty amazing. From Masters In Station to the Super Bowl. 00:28:06 Speaker 3: I gotta be there, I mean to Billy, because Billy has to be up at six am out in California to do the. 00:28:11 Speaker 2: Preview'll help, Yeah, I'll carry whatever equipment you need me to the Okay, you're working for us that way, I am Yep, I'm set. I think that'll work. 00:28:21 Speaker 4: They saved the NFL money because they need it. 00:28:24 Speaker 6: Why aren't we saving the NFL money? How about you all picked me and Mario and Billy up at the airport when you get there, No, Brian's coming, We'll go. 00:28:31 Speaker 4: It'll be fun, great content, Brian. 00:28:32 Speaker 8: Go ahead, Brian, Yeah, man, thanks for taking my call. I'll tell you there's one sudden change I've noticed. I think it's fixed a lot of things that actually started in the Missouri game. Obviously we finished bad, but uh, I believe it started in that game, and it's carrying over. 00:28:49 Speaker 10: One. 00:28:50 Speaker 8: They took the center and they moved into the short corner. 00:28:53 Speaker 4: Yes, yeah, they took the generally it's a four, although sometimes they have Morino at the and he would do that. But you're right, generally speaking, yes. 00:29:04 Speaker 8: So they took either the four to five like you were talking about, to that short corner, which actually gives open drives early on in the shot clock, and then they don't work it back to the post till they get a shot at the end. But I do believe it's allowed Yellovich and other players like that pass that he was able to make the give and goal with Brandon Garrison where he passed up the three, and then even Denzel Aberdeen. His decision making has changed over the last couple of games. I think, so. 00:29:32 Speaker 4: Switching that offense switching that offense has allowed Yelovich to play, It's put Aberdeen in a more comfortable spot. I think it's been great for everybody except maybe Diabote. 00:29:44 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you're right. 00:29:49 Speaker 8: Yeah, I agree, because in dia Bote he even changed starting shooting threes again, and that's that's not his. 00:29:55 Speaker 4: Game, No, it's not. I appreciate the call. I think that's probably the best way to play to get the best out of this team they can, although it probably means not playing Debote as much I can. 00:30:06 Speaker 6: Find with it. At this point, when they weren't being physical or fighting early in the year, you needed him, they've picked that up a little bit. And it's not just that he can't shoot. Some of his passes have been awful. 00:30:15 Speaker 4: Yeah, and he just when he gets the ball, he heads down and just throws it into the backboard and he doesn't really have touch, so it ends up either being a miss sometimes he draws a foul, but he does it. You know, it is what it is. And he's a grump. 00:30:31 Speaker 6: I love that clip in the Indiana game. 00:30:32 Speaker 4: Whereas I'm not trying to be rude, he's just a grump watching him. I mean, he's just always he's. 00:30:37 Speaker 2: Always always mounted somebody. 00:30:39 Speaker 6: Yeah, the clip, I think it was Cody Figure. It's there's just a clear divide between what they're trying to do and what he's trying to do. I think even yellslippery and like I'm just trying to play basketball or something like that. He's just not fitting in. He's not to whatever they're trying to run. Austin, go ahead, Austin, he guess. 00:30:56 Speaker 12: They're taking the call. So this is the first game I got to go to you on Saturday this year, and the first one in the in the Pope era. But for the first couple of minutes when we were falling behind, all the offense guys were just kind of standing still. And then once he got them moveing doing that weave action, that's where everybody got got open and we got open looks. And I think that we still have better athletes than ninety percent of the teams that were playing. It's just the execution. So to keep that going, I think that's the that's the way to move forward. And then on the football side, will Stein has got me more excited than I've ever been for football, so much so that I'm looking to sell everything I owned to try to get season tickets and beggarbar. 00:31:36 Speaker 4: I bet you can make them, make it happen. You may not have to sell everything, but I'm excited too. I appreciate the call. Bo Bo Bo bo Bo may just sent me a picture. This is Bow with the woman in the crowd. Look a look out happy. 00:31:50 Speaker 2: Oh that was that's probably the caller. Well, yeah, I heard that call happy. 00:31:54 Speaker 6: What about what about Bow? See a t s? Yeah? Bo picked cat, try that out. 00:32:01 Speaker 4: I like mine. 00:32:02 Speaker 2: I didn't want to say one more thing. Yes, I turned in the post game basketball show not to hear you talk about Mississippi State because I knew you'd have to be. You were excited about the Bears. 00:32:10 Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm gonna do that. R after the break, I want. 00:32:12 Speaker 7: To talk about We don't have to do that. 00:32:14 Speaker 4: We're gonna talk about Bears. We got to talk about Shannon's packards. Billy play the clip of me celebrating No this morning. Billy recorded me through. I was connected for the post game show and Billy was able to record. Oh, we got to hear that me watching the final play. 00:32:31 Speaker 2: We got to hear that. 00:32:32 Speaker 4: Yeah, but you can bring him in there. I think it's on his phone. We played it on cover zero last night. I'm twenty two eighty seven. Let's see, let's do let's do, uh what Don Franklin? Is that what I want to do? 00:32:44 Speaker 10: Sure? 00:32:45 Speaker 4: Because because I want to talk about my friends at Don Franklin, because they want to talk about me. Well, I don't know if they do or not. You can ring in the new year with a new ride at Don Franklin. Choose from thousands of new and certified pre own vehicles. We will make fun of Shannon's packers for blowing it and my bears are bearing down and grat and cheese. That's next. Working back Techi Sports Radio. I was just saying to you guys, they have this new technology. Now. If you have clear when you fly, like you don't have to show anything at the airport. You just literally just you walk up, give your face and your end. 00:33:35 Speaker 2: People that fly all the time. Why isn't everybody do it? 00:33:38 Speaker 4: You got it in New York, I think they have it in Cincinnati. It's a little scary chinning that like they can just like look into our eyes and they got everything you need. 00:33:46 Speaker 2: Yep. 00:33:46 Speaker 4: But like they know you've booked a flight, they know everything about you from your facial scan and it makes it to where in New York and Cincinnati it takes me one minute to. 00:33:57 Speaker 7: Get which can be it? 00:33:58 Speaker 3: But you hope it doesn't ever like Malfo function or screw up and just start letting. 00:34:01 Speaker 4: It be true. And that's exactly right. And also one day, when everyone has it, it won't be as convenient anymore. But for right now, when nobody has it, it's literally one minute. So like you know, when you get on a plane, you have to show your boarding pass, show your ID, the guys to look at it. Now, none of that you just get and you're in what's. 00:34:20 Speaker 2: The say won't send you to Dave Fleming's game and wants them Dave Flimming. 00:34:23 Speaker 10: To your Earth. 00:34:25 Speaker 4: Nothing physically makes you get on the plane. You still choose your plane. Just scam through there, Okay, I didn't even think about your stupid day, Flemming. I was trying. Just is what I get for trying to treat your concern for real? 00:34:39 Speaker 6: This camera technology tells me a lot about what they know about us. I just did this this weekend. I had a hat pulled down. I looked nothing like myself. My head was lowered. I'm like, there's no way they knew that was me. They knew they do. I also like, well, I'm not gonna get all conspiracy theory, but you know, I don't. 00:34:56 Speaker 4: Know they're gonna have They already do have a record of all of us. But I saw one of the things they said, like, you know, you see all these videos. I'm not trying to argue about the ICE videos. I have my opinions, but who cares. But like, you'll notice all these officers are now like taking pictures of everything. There's a theory that like it's just to have a phone record of everybody and what everyone drives, what everyone's face like in one system, which they probably can do now anyway. But still it's like a little there's gonna come a point like you'll be able to find anybody's anything sure, which I don't think is good, Shannon, But I think it's just reality. 00:35:36 Speaker 7: Like you pretty much already can you probably can come, probably can addresses phone numbers? Yeah, I mean Google. 00:35:44 Speaker 4: What never happened to good old privacy? Right, zero privacy, there's zero price. 00:35:49 Speaker 6: I saw Instagram had a big leak, millions of infos out. I'm like, good, add it to all my other leaks that have happened in the last week. 00:35:55 Speaker 4: I don't know if you I'm subscribed to this like security service, and they'll be like, your block has leaked on the dark web. 00:36:01 Speaker 7: We're just leaking everywhere. 00:36:02 Speaker 4: And I'm like, what do you want me to do about that? Like when they tell you your your social Security numbers? I'm dark with what we are supposed to do? What are we supposed to do? Like go to dark web and go leave me alone? Like like, what are you supposed I don't know. 00:36:13 Speaker 7: What they'd rather not know about it, you know. 00:36:15 Speaker 2: I mean, there's nothing I can do too late and change it. 00:36:19 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:36:19 Speaker 6: See, I just go to the dark web and right up myself. That way. I like to worry about these concerned Here's everything. 00:36:23 Speaker 2: I have all right, bears win. 00:36:25 Speaker 4: What a victory. 00:36:27 Speaker 2: Unbelievable, What a victory. 00:36:28 Speaker 4: One of the great comebacks in the history of football, the best Bears win since we won the Super Bowl forty years ago, and it was two Shannon's Packers favorite parts. One guidence stands great and cheese loved it. 00:36:43 Speaker 3: Okay, but here's the thing though, that means that guy walked around for hours with a block of cheese in his pocket. 00:36:48 Speaker 4: That's weird, weird, totally weird, totally weird that he carried around a block of cheese and got greater through. 00:36:54 Speaker 2: Security to do that. 00:36:55 Speaker 7: You can bring a greater into the stadium and the UK I. 00:36:58 Speaker 4: Can't bring anything into a game, and this man can bring a cheese grater and a block of cheese into the game. What do you think get a coach in the locker room saying blank the Packers. 00:37:09 Speaker 7: I'm fine with it, man, I mean, obviously I have to like the Bears, but I go for it. I don't care. It doesn't bother me. 00:37:13 Speaker 4: Right, So I was pacing you. Gotta think about the timing here. Okay, the postgame show is about to start and I'm watching the end of the game, so I'm trying to keep up with Billy giving me the time cues. But I'm also pacing throat. But I'm connected to the postgame show. Huh, so Billy can hear me, And so I'm trying to not be as wild as I normally be, because normally I be yelling like yeah, because I knew Billy could hear me. But Billy did catch This is the moment where the Bears make the final play drew to win the game. That was me just in my house screaming after the Bears get the final I'll. 00:38:05 Speaker 2: Tell you that's why I tuned into the postgame show to hear you go crazy about your Bears win. 00:38:09 Speaker 4: Really worried that I was gonna have to watch the final plays on the air, and what if they would have lost. I would have been. 00:38:16 Speaker 7: Been used to it. He's a Bears fan. 00:38:18 Speaker 2: Yeah, I would have been used to it. 00:38:20 Speaker 4: But what an awesome win, great environment. We were talking about, how fun would it have been to be there? 00:38:24 Speaker 6: Soldier Phil looked crazy. I mean to help being the Packers who've had your numbers forever? 00:38:30 Speaker 10: Now? 00:38:31 Speaker 6: Was it there on and two against Green Bay in the playoffs to have that home game, that opportunity to finish the job the way they did with that comeback. Couldn't ask for a better win, and I don't think y'all are done. Talk about the Broncos going to San Francisco. I'm I'm excited to see your Bears in San. 00:38:43 Speaker 2: So the Broncos go to San Francisco. 00:38:45 Speaker 4: Ryan goes, If the Bears go to San Francisco, I'll get my fingernails dune. 00:38:50 Speaker 2: Wow, I did see that A's fingernails painted? 00:38:54 Speaker 4: Yes, no, I will. I'll go get what do you call that a manicure? 00:38:58 Speaker 5: Yes? 00:38:59 Speaker 4: But what people pay things on their fingers the nails painted. I will do a thing. Make the super Bowl. 00:39:08 Speaker 6: Yet a good spot. 00:39:09 Speaker 4: No, no, no, I'll do like he does where he's got all the little like I'll get like a little Bear's. 00:39:14 Speaker 2: We can get b E. A. R. S on one hand on your fingernails right there, So. 00:39:18 Speaker 4: If they make it before we go, I'll do that. 00:39:22 Speaker 2: I'll tell you one thing that was very cool after the game. The Bears fans didn't want to leave the stadium. I know, it looked so fun. Why would you want to? It was like what twelve degrees or whatever it was, and they did not want to leave the stadium. 00:39:32 Speaker 4: You don't have a dough that atmosphere with the coal that night, like you don't get that inside. It's true that needed to be outside for that to happen. Brad, go ahead, Brad. 00:39:45 Speaker 5: Yeah, man, this is the first time long time, who was? I missed the first half of the show, so I apologize if you all have touched on this. But at the game Saturday night, Seneca Driver, the number one tied in and in the state, was there and him and will Stein had a pretty cool interaction there during one of the halftime things. So I thought that was pretty cool. And the second thing, I've heard a lot of people talk about o Way possibly a lot of times, maybe taking some plays off, for maybe not being the best team player and all that, But being there at the game, man, I do that at all. Nobody tries as he does, Nobody gives as much effort as him. I mean, they were throwing slobber knockers at him and he was just still. 00:40:32 Speaker 4: Since I got to take up for him, I think you should. I appreciate Cal. He's been great since SEC play, I really do. I think he's been excellent. Cod Poe, go ahead, Poe. 00:40:42 Speaker 13: Hey, God bless us. I'm glad you're all in full force again. 00:40:46 Speaker 4: I wish Yeah, me too. 00:40:49 Speaker 13: Uh, I wanted to ask Ryan would probably be if he's heard any scuttle, but he'd probably be the best one to answer this. There's a Keith Lee kid out of Martin County as a sophomore. Last year, he ever thirty seven once a game at Paintsvil. But he's in Martin County this year. 00:41:13 Speaker 4: Poe, quickly give me a question quick? 00:41:17 Speaker 13: Well are we looking at him? 00:41:19 Speaker 4: All right? What do you think? Scuttle? 00:41:20 Speaker 2: But I think they brought him in just for a visit. But I think you know he's getting recruited by more Head Eastern those schools. 00:41:25 Speaker 4: You think that s winds up being what he does? 00:41:27 Speaker 9: Probably? 00:41:27 Speaker 4: All right, Let's go to DraftKings promo code KSR bet five you can win up to three hundred dollars with the NFL playoffs. Bet on DraftKings tonight Peyton, Steelers and Texans. Ryan, who you got Texans? 00:41:41 Speaker 2: I can't believe the Steelers snuck their way into the playoffs. I'm going to Texas even though they're at home. Texans getting three points, well, three road teams won this weekend. 00:41:48 Speaker 6: What do you think I'll take the points? They're getting a Phil goal at home Pittsburgh. I'll say Aaron Rodgers has one more playoff winning him even though that Texans defense is so good. 00:41:56 Speaker 7: Sh I think Pittsburgh at home, I think that Rodgers gets it done. 00:42:00 Speaker 4: You're giving me three. I'm gonna take three, and I'm gonna take the Steelers. 00:42:04 Speaker 2: I'm the only guy going Texans tonight. 00:42:05 Speaker 4: Yeah. I think the Texans can win the game. I think they're better. But you're giving me three at home on a Monday night in Pittsburgh. It's gonna be cold. 00:42:11 Speaker 6: It's gonna be cold. I took the points at home with your bears. 00:42:16 Speaker 2: So road teams are hot this weekend. 00:42:18 Speaker 4: All right, thank you all very much. We're here tomorrow at the bar, Wednesday and Thursday. I have trivia Thursday, and then Wild Eggs and Tates Creek on Friday. It's been KSR. Send me a trivia
