NXT Review: Vengeance Day Contract Signing, Blair Davenport vs Karmen Petrovic

that being said, we only have one question for you. Are ye we
thought? So let's get the show started right now. Alright, everyone,
this is Memphis Bart coming to you from Mullet Manner and we're going to do
the NXT review for one twenty three, a little over a week away from
Vengeance Day. So yeah, we start off with a good little recap of
everything, and then they go straight into a semi final match in the Dusty
Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament, and it's, uh, it's the wolf Dog.
Now, it's the it's a Baron and Brawn going against Axiom and Nathan
Fraser. And of course Baron comes out wearing a some kind of a wolf
dog kind of hat on his head there. But anyway, and we get
a Rock and Roll Express, you know reference in this match with the teamwork
that Axiom and Nathan Fraser have and that's pretty high praise. That's pretty pretty
high you know praise there to do to mention them. So but yeah,
the guys come out and they really jump on them. Right at the first
they just go ahead and jump on them and it catches Bran and Barn off
balance. So yeah, they it's a pretty good match. You know,
they kind of do a little you would think it would be a beatdown immediately,
but the way that they started the match out and they just go after
him everything, it's pretty good. But finally finally they catch old Nathan Fraser
and you know, you know, kind of throw the beat down to him.
There's even a power slam where he catches them off the top rope that's
really really good. But yeah, we're gonna have end up having a big,
a big, a big deep six by Baron and On Axiom and it
just flattens them and it might be the finest deep six that I've seen out
of Baron this whole time. So yeah, they're gonna end up getting the
match. But because of the size difference, I was really amazed at how
everything you know was, you know, they looked, they looked really good,
and I have to give them that. So I have to to say,
if you're gonna have that kind of big guys going against with a size
difference is is such. You gotta have somebody that can work like these two
guys like Axiem and Frasier. You know, Baron does the you know that
big, big, big deep six on him and then Braun puts the spear
spear spear remember know what was it the gore gore of Let's see. Yeah,
pretty good match, though, pretty good match, I have to say.
Uh. Then they go to a little promo where you got drugging off,
uh and he got Josh Briggs. They're giving a little a little push
to mister Briggs there, you know, but he comes out and kind of
calls out dragging off, and of course you know he's gonna you know,
you know, he's up for it. But Trick whooped there. Trick Trick
comes in and uh yeah, he's saying that to hey, you know,
I need to make sure that Dragon drugging Off is good for the upcoming match
at Vengeance Day, and uh, even Josh Briggs mentions that maybe Trick needs
to go back into Mellow's back pocket. Hm hmm, yeah, yeah.
So we're getting a little exciting there, a little exciting uh. And then
we have a sighting at hbk's office. That's right, HBK is now promoted.
Drum roll, drum roll, drum roll. Uh. Well, Ava
comes out of the office and uh Stephen Regal mister, Regal mister comes out
of the office and he congratulates Ava on being the new GM. So there
we have it. Ava is the new uh, the new boss. So
we'll see what kind of angles and what kind of storylines they can right off
this kind of you know, maybe she's not the greatest thing the ring,
but maybe they see something with her on the stick that they could use her
in the future. So you know, she's got a little clout, but
she still gotta earn it, still got earn it. But then we've got
a promo with Wren a new wrestler or new uh lou lady wrestler, and
she seems overwhelmed and Valen Henry comes out and because her first match is against
Slash against Slash Legend, yeah, so yeah, you know, Valin comes
out, gives her the old hip hip parade and we'll see where that goes.
But yeah, they're going to have the match. You know, they
got Lash coming out with Meta for Mensa and the whole crew. No m
and uh, yeah, the match pretty good, you know if it you
know, if it's her first match on TV, then I got to give
her little props on that because I haven't seen her on TV at least.
And as far as the match itself, it's not a squash, it's not
a JEBBRONI, it's not anything like that. But you know, Aren gets
here, It gets a few shots in there and gets a little time.
But you're gonna have lash Legend when in this one because she is so much
powerful or so much more you know more, yes, more powerful and u
and her size is just they've got to do a push with her coming up.
They've got to, I just but anyway, yeah, she gets the
win on this one. But yeah, what does the future hold for lash
Legend? Will only have to wait and see because that's all we do.
Day. But then we got a little ODM, a little out mud out
mud and scripts Reggie. But it seems that they arrived at Tony Dee's place
without a reservation, and uh yeah, they kind of threw a little beat
down on the place there. You know, they had you know, their
crew there to kind of clear it out. So and they sent a message
too. Tony Dion stacks that, hey, you know, we'll see you
soon. And they've they've got to go over last week's Joe Gasey and die
Jack because you know they're pushing die Jack, so you gotta and Gasey is
you know, they've definitely been pushing him. So they do a quick little
spot about what happened last week and getting ready for what may happen very very
soon, like a match is coming up, and they're really really pushing this
two K twenty four game, you know, where you can bring the old
guys back. Now I don't play games or you know, any of that
stuff, but it looks mighty interesting, I have to say, you know,
but let's get back to the review. It's got du Chac going against
Joe Gasey and h Yeah, pretty good match. Gasey always put on to
me, always seems to put on a good, good, solid match,
and die Jack of course has gotten better and better and better. So good
match, you know, I can't you know, Gaysey comes out and jumps
on him and and every time die Jack, like die Jack puts him to
a wall, and you know, does thee where Braun has been sparing people.
But he keeps coming back, you know, like at the start of
the match, he jumps on die Jack and uh stays on him. Uh,
so they never really get going. So they never really get a match.
Officially, I don't believe, so as far as I could tell,
they ruled this a no contest. So uh, yeah, the storyline will
go on with Die Jack and mister Joe Gacy. So let's turn the page.
Uh little Bob Singer there. Uh, well, let's see where we're
at. We got uh, we got Ariana Grace uh and she's doing a
little, a little promo because they've got Elektra Lopez has showed up looking for
Lola Ice and she's hot on the trail for Lola Ice. So she storms
in the ladies locker room and where miss Grace is ands uh you know,
of course, demanding, you know, for somebody to tell us something something
where she get but she can't find her. So there we go from there,
and then we got oh, we got mister Lexis King doing a little
spot about Trey bear Hill and pretty much you know, telling him that you're
insignificant. Uh. The only reason you're getting this time is because of me.
Uh, And we're gonna give you a little push push. Uh so
yeah, and then we have my new favorite big guy that hopefully they'll do
something with, and that's Von Wagner and mister Stone and uh they're they're doing
a little training, a little football training, little physical training out there and
uh you know mister Stone, uh you know, got the kids out there
and they're all, uh yeah, they're all doing a little spot, not
a bad little spot. Everything up to now has actually been you know,
pretty good. Can't complain, you know. Uh, but you're going to
the match with uh Lexus King and Trey bar Hill and uh, now this
was this was about as close as you could get to a squash to at
your Bronie match. It's about as close as you could get. But it
was not Uh. Bar Hill makes some good moves, a couple good comebacks.
You know, he's a big guy, doesn't look very very Native American.
He's one of those ones. It's like I'm one sixty four. But
no, I could be totally wrong there. I don't want to say that,
but Lexus King kind of kind of has his way in this match.
As I said, Barry Hill gets a couple of little spots of offense.
But in the end it's gonna be Lexus King that pulls this out. And
then they've got to go back to uh yeah, to Trick and Mellow because
Mellow is still trying to pass this advice you know, you know to him,
he's like, man, dragon Off is playing you. Dragging Off is
playing you. He's got you, you know, fighting twice in one night.
So that is the thing with Trick and Mellow. Do not trust dragon
Off because you know, Trick seems to kind of going, hey, look
man, he ain't done me wrong yet, so until he does, I'll
think okay. But all right, we got Barry Hill, we got the
Metal Oh oh, we've got no Am Dar's talk show, the super Nova
Sessions. That's right, folks. He's out there with Mensa and uh you
know, they've got Lola Ice on the show. You know, of course
after her and Electra Lopez split up after the battle roll where you know they
had the big bra ha ha and uh so, yeah, they're they're setting
up a match for show on that one. Let me see, what did
I let me see? Yeah? Yeah, that's pretty much on that one.
I thought i'd written something clever, you know, maybe I've written some
very uh phyl philosophical or meaningful but uh no, no, no, no,
not necessarily. Uh. And then you've got Tony Thorny d and Stax
you know, given their rebuttle too, uh uh to the guys and uh
to you know, to Stax Bridgie and saying, hey, look we will
see you. It's very very soon. But then we go to the sad,
the sad, sad saga of Chase you you know, which was once
a very striving you know, uh it was so you know it was a
fake university, okay, but uh it's been brought down to its knees by
a gambling scandal. And so now, hey, the guys are here to
get the money, money, mint of money. They gotta get some stuff.
If it ain't got you ain't got no money. They gotta some stuff.
And you know what the irs takes when they want to get their money,
all your stuff. It doesn't matter if Grandpa Paul gave it to you,
It just doesn't matter. They will take it as jerie lee un That's
a whole other story. But yeah, they come in and they take all
the stuff. So yeah, and then you're gonna have the match. Actually,
with Scripts up Regie. Uh and he's got otm out out the mood.
They're out there with them with Jada Parker and he's going up against Dragon
Lee. Uh you know, and and Dragon Lee. Uh is is definitely
definitely better as far as in ring and ring ability and just overall wrestling.
But I have to give credit. I hate to do it, have to
give credit. Where credits do Reggie? H I mean Scripts, I mean
Scripts, Reggie, no one, man, I got that back with Scripts.
He can fly now, he can flip and flop and like a fish
out of water. Now he can he can fly and he does in this
uh so uh you know. And and to tell you the truth, this
is one of the few times that Dragonly is gonna be the larger competitor in
the match. Uh. He was. He is bigger than Scripts. Uh.
But yeah, the match is you know, pretty good, pretty good.
You know, both the guys do good. You know, dragon Ly
definitely running this match. Uh. And he's gonna get the win. I
guess he would get the win. Yeah, he got the win because uh
don't eat d and Stacks and and uh Arianna, they all show up and
uh and during this match. Now, oh, but for me has come
out because he hasn't given an actual answer to Dragon Lee on his rematch.
But he's up in the Muffet skybox. They're watching the match, and then
after the match and everybody's thrown down. Yeah, mister Femi comes out and
says, I've thought about it, I've considered it. Yeah, well let's
throw down at Vengeance Day. So yeah, so they're gonna throw down at
Vengeance Day. So Dragon Lee gets his rematch, and then from there we
go to this new fitness guru Bryn. Yes she's that good. I don't
remember her last name. But Blade and and Nophie are contemplating their future.
They're past and the fact that they hut they got you out so hard,
you know, they hurts. They're on a losing streak, so they're trying
to figure out what do they need to do to get off of this losing
streak. And that's where old Brin, you know, she's out there giving
them the rah rah and everything. But she comes up with a plan and
she tells them to like like some high school stuff, right, five reasons
the match was good, five reason the match was bad, or something to
that effect. But we will see where they're going with that in the future
kind of kind of funny, you know. And if he and Blade I
could see them doing. They're good with the stick, So yeah, this
guy's a limit for him. But you got a little promo with the Lady's
Champ Lira by Kira and Tatum Packsley and you know they're talking rocks and angle
kind of you know, they're you know, I was trying to let Tatum
you know that was a one time deal that we tag teamed up and uh,
and that she needs to concentrate on Roxanne. So Tatum takes that as
if she eliminates Roxanne, then she would concentrate on her. So we've got
a little, uh, you got a little uh uh weirdo stuff going on
there for sure. Uh, let me see. Then we've got uh,
Carmen Petrovitch going against Miss Blair Davenport. Now Carmen has got they say that
she's a third degree black belt. She has definitely got some training, and
she's definitely been getting into ring and uh and working out getting ring time because
she has gotten a lot of lot better since the first time I saw her
on NXT. Now Blair, Miss Davenport, she's bad to the boat.
So and she's gonna end up pulling this win off after a big double stomp.
But uh, you know, Carmen, as I said, she's gotten
better at that MMA training and everything. It looked really good. The match
looked good. So yeah, some upcoming Blair's you know, definitely in the
storyline. But uh yeah, Carmen's done kind of niched herself a little spot,
I believe for some future endeavors. Uh. And then now, yeah,
we go into Rich Holland doing at a little promo and he's saying that
hey, he really doesn't doesn't need anybody that he's going to take on gell
Us by himself. Take him out, wrap him up, put him up
a tree, throw him in the shack, put him in the truck.
He gonna get rid of him. Yeah, but he says he's he's gonna
do it himself. So yeah, what else can you ask for there,
folks. But we're going now to where we've got dragging off. He's coming
out to the announcer's desk to do a little announcing on the main event there
and it is a trick going against Josh Bridge. Now this is actually good
I think for Josh Briggs, because Briggs is a big guy, and he
is so much bigger than most of the guys that he's out there with.
But now that he's in the ring with Trick, a little different world here
because Trick's about six three six four. I think he's a little bit bigger
than I am, and Briggs is definitely I think he's about six five six
six. So these some big old guys, uh and they weren't good in
the ring. Now Briggs is getting there, his time is still you know,
it's still off, and that's that's just gonna come, you know,
along with time. But now Trick whooped, Trick whooped Trick. Trick is
freaking just come along like Gamebusters. Man. He is, I mean,
wow, his development amazing. But uh yeah, the match itself is good.
And like I said, Briggs is timing's little off. Just some of
his moves they just weren't as crisp and it probably wouldn't be as noticeable if
Trick a known point so good, I mean, and Trick's trying to cover
what he can. But you know, Briggs, it's just gonna take a
little time. But you know, they gotta have Dragon Off involved in here,
So dragging Off is hollering at Trick every time he gets thrown outside,
but eventually one time, let me see if I get this right. Uh
Okay, Briggs goes to kick Trick, but he hits draggon Off and then
Mellow comes out and grabs dragging Off to keep him from getting involved, and
then Trick he ends up pinning Briggs. Okay, and then Briggs jumps Trick.
Okay. It's a lot of excitement towards the end. So this is
pretty good to go back and watch. I mean, Briggs does have some
good moves. It's not like I'm saying this is any kind of a Jabbroni
match at all. It's just that Trick looked that much better. But uh,
we're gonna have, you know, because now now Mellow's ticked off.
But yeah, we've got Trick coming out of here, and you think that
that's the end because they got to separate them and do all that stuff.
So go back and check this out, folks show. But they kind of
ended it kind of weird. So that's the last match, okay, So
okay, but then you've got THEA and JAC doing their plotting to take over
the world. And Lexus King comes out and kind of makes a little move
towards THEA like hey, hey, hey, and THEA says no, no,
no. Uh. And then you've got Riley Osborne coming out to defend
her honor, which she seems very happy that he does. So you know
what that's leading to, We're gonna have a match between mister Osborne and mister
King coming up for show. But then you've got to you got to no
quarter catch crew promo, and I hope they do some of them because the
guys definitely look like they're in shape. I mean, they're doing all the
stuff. But yeah, we'll we'll see how that goes. But they go
from there to a kind of a kind of a pumped up third up.
It's a Mellow and Trick coming back, and Trick kind of pushes Mellow and
you know before so Mellow's telling them, man, you gotta wake up.
Drag it Off is the bad guy. He's the bad guy. Everybody who
look at the bad guy. So yeah, he's telling them to wake up.
Uh. And then we go to finally in the show, folks,
we go to Ava the new gym, and uh, she brings out Roxanne
and uh, Lyra to to sign for the championship. So you know,
I'm expecting the typical, uh they're gonna fight, but here the ending of
the show, you know, just wasn't so happy with it. They did
their little talking up in there and uh, you know, give each other
flowers and the whole deal. And then right after they agree, hey,
you know we're gonna have a good match out of know where, Tatum Pasley
comes and puts Roxanne through the table. So yeah, and of course the
champ is a little ticked and Tatum looks a little confused. So as the
story turns, so wow, looks like that's gonna be it. Guys,
we are trying a new video or video and audio system out here at mullet
Manor so hopefully it sounds okay. If not, we will have it fixed
for next week. But we're going with it this time. And I was
