What's it called? Donut Time. Donut Time. Is that just the intro? 0:06 Donut Time. Donut Time. We've been sitting here trying to get this going. I've been sitting here ready, and they've just 0:13 been trying to figure out how to getâwhatâs Kalachis? Kalach... What is... pigs? Pigs in a blanket. 0:19 It's been explained to me as pigs in a blanket. And it's a 30-minute drive. Is it? 0:24 It was the first thing that popped up when I searched âKalachi,â Iâll be honest. If youâre not, like, a... if you don't know what a pig in a blanket is, and someone says, 0:33 âWhat's a Kalachi?â and the answer is âa pig in a blanket,â thatâs so unhelpful. 0:40 I'm sorry. I was saying that because on the menu it says: Kalachis (pigs in a blanket). 0:50 Yeah, thatâs what it says. Pigs in a blanket. Nice. And they serve Community Coffee. This place ain't it. 0:56 Letâs just goâCommunity Coffee. Letâs just go to Callieâs. Alright. Hey Paige. 1:01 Lindsayâcan we start? Paige? Lindsay, we're starting. Can we start? We're in this thing. 1:07 Sorry, another Kalachi place. Just go to Buc-eeâs. You'll scratch all your Kalachi needs. 1:13 Okay. Youâll scratch all yourâI donât like Buc-eeâs that much. I mean, also, where is there a close 1:19 Buc-eeâs to here? Crossville. Again... where is there a close Buc-eeâs to here? We would road trip. Work trip. 1:26 The one in Alabama is like an hour and forty-five. There's one in Georgiaâthereâs two in Georgia. 1:34 We went to the one in Georgia, I think. Yeah, I've been there a couple times. 1:39 Weâll do a work trip, you know. A work trip to Buc-eeâs. Buc-eeâs is kind of overrated. It is. 1:46 It is. It is. 'Cause they don't have Mountain Dew Zero either. But it isâseriouslyâthe bathrooms are great. Bathrooms are great. That is honestly shocking to me. 1:53 It's good. I'm not like team Dew Zero or anything, but to be that big and not have it... I am team Dew Zero, and that is my main factor for why I go to 2:02 a gas station on a road trip. And Buc-eeâs doesnât have it. So I go in there and I'm just likeâI don't even want to be here. 2:08 Literally almost every gas station we go to has Dew Zero. And so the fact that Buc-eeâs doesnât is just unacceptable. 2:16 Probably some kind of scandal. Yeah, probably some big scandal. Like the Coldplay one... Probably some kind of scandal. Yeah, probably some big scandal. Like the Coldplay one. Oh, is anybody watching that? 2:25 Okay, so letâs get into it. Because Katching Up With Katie, you know, it's 2:32 usually like, what have we done in the past week? A lot has happened. Not necessarily productive-wiseâjust, like, things have happened. 2:40 So, we went to the lake this past weekend. That was the hot topic. The Coldplay thing was a hot topic during this lake outing. 2:47 Because, like, my mom was there. Her friend was there. They were talking about it. Everyone was having their own separate things. 2:53 And soâAbigail, this was your second or third time going to the lake with us? Third. Third. 2:59 She got to see me have myâbleep this outârocked. And now, for today's sponsor, which is BarkBox. BarkBox Ad Break 3:10 Along with my dogs, Moo and Abigailâs dog, they have loved BarkBox for forever. 3:16 Itâs like a monthly little treat where they get new toys and new treats that are specially for them. 3:23 In each BarkBox, which is monthly, youâll receive: Two toys, two bags of treats, and one chew. 3:30 Now, you get to choose based on your dogâs allergies, your dogâs tasteâif they like 3:35 hard toys, if they like soft toysâto make it special for them so they enjoy it to the fullest. 3:41 Every month, there's a fun new theme, and the box contents are around that theme. This is the Super Chewer box. Weâve already been working on this, 3:49 havenât we, Moo? Yes. Another cool thing is that BarkBox products are made in-house, so theyâre specially made in the USA and Canada. The treats are soy-, wheat-, and corn-free. 4:00 Right now, BarkBox is offering an exclusive deal: Sign up today and get a free extra toy in every box for a full year. 4:07 Thatâs three toys and two bags of treats each month for no additional cost. Again, let me repeat thatâthree toys and two bags of treats free. 4:17 They will add an additional toy every month with this offer. Itâs an amazing deal. You donât want to miss it. 4:23 Information on how to order is in my description. Nowâback to the video. Like, absolutely, 4:31 I thought I was paralyzed. I thought I was going to die. Ohâwhere your glasses came off? Can we put that in here? Katie Crashes at the Lake 4:39 Yeah. Play that clip. Weâll put the clip in slow motion, frame by frame. 4:52 I've already posted it. I've already posted my own humiliation. Okay. I don't knowâwhy 4:57 did he not throw you off? He didnât mean to. 5:03 He made this turn at, like, Mach 5. He insists that he didnât mean to. 5:10 It just hitâyou just hit the wrong way. Itâs my fault. Yeah, itâs my fault for hitting the wrong way. 5:16 Kind of your fault. You donât know how to ride a tube, Katie. And JonathanâI do blame Jonathan a bit, 'cause he was not leaning the right way. 5:24 Jonathanâs tubing experience is different than mine. I learned as a child how to maneuver the tube to stay on. 5:32 Jonathan wanted to get the most, like, air. You know what I'm saying? Right. Of course. Thatâs how he does it. 5:39 And so he was, like, leaning and picking the side up. No. No. I'm likeâno. 5:45 So, I blame a lot of people. I'm the victim of what you have seen. 5:52 And I couldnât move the next day. Iâm honestly feeling way better. I thought I wasnât going to be able to move all week, 5:58 but after the first day, Iâm good. Yeah. I don't know whyâyouâre the young one. Why did you not get absolutely tossed around? 6:09 I just know how to stay on. Okay. I donât know. 6:16 And then, like, Rebecca was there too with her little girls and her husband. And I fully was like, âOh no.â Because you know what? 6:23 Iâve stopped invitingâ I donât invite those. Would you have come? Hey, Iâm going to go ahead and put this out there: Wasnât offended. Didnât say anything. 6:31 Well, weâre talking to Matt. Would you have come? Iâm just stirring the pot. 6:37 Iâve invited them. Weâve had it where it was likeâ âHave yâall left yet?â 6:42 Like, thatâs how committed they were. And we were like, âHave yâall left?â I thought about that. We were out the door. 6:49 And then it was just like... I donât think I didnât want to. 6:54 I donât think I was everâ I'm pretty sure you called me and said, âHey, how can we get out of this?â No, I donât think I was everâ Boss, I was never really on board and committed. 7:07 You were like, âYes, lake day!â We were all, for a moment at least, we were all like, âYes, lake day.â 7:15 Yeah. I mean, it was a great idea. Itâs always like one of those things that we talk about at work, 7:21 and then we leave work, and we donât do it. Like, we donâtâwe donât hang out outside of here. 7:27 I saw a reel about that, actually. Itâs like the graveyard of trip ideas. Well, I think the only thing that made it out of the group chat was Ren Fest last year. 7:36 Yeah. Well, this yearâI didnât even go this year. I mean, Iâll say this: And this year, I didnât. I didnât either. 7:42 Iâve said it many timesâ Iâm not a big lake guy. I donât like the lake. And yâall have tried to convince me, like, âWell, youâve got to do the lake with us.â 7:51 And Iâm likeâwell, I... right. And it would be fun hanging out with yâall, but I would get nothing added out of the lake. What isâwhat is your adversity to the lake? 8:01 What is yourâ I think I genuinely just donât love it. 8:08 Itâs one of those things where I can go, and I will enjoy it for a little bit, and thenâ 8:13 So weâlet me just sayâ And this is why I think weâre like, âYou havenât laked with us.â âCause we donât go on the boat from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 8:21 Yeah. Weâre not like all-day lakers, where weâre likeâ Itâs hot, thereâs no shade, weâre doing it. 8:28 We donât do that. We have breakfast, we go for a little morning toodle on the boat, Lake Life & Tube Talk 8:33 we come back, we swim, we go for lunch, and we go inside and take a nap. And then we might go swim again, or we might go on the boat again, 8:40 or thereâs a place that we might go eat on the water, like fishingâ or we donât even fish that much. 8:45 See, I like the eating. I like the eating parts. I like eating on the water. Yeah. Thereâs like a marina that has a restaurant, and so we take the boat, 8:53 and the boat ride is going thereâ and then we eat there and hang out. And then weâll come back, and there might be some tubing for the kidsâ 9:00 if thereâs kids on the trip, whatever. But we donât do the whole âbe out on the boat all day long.â 9:08 Do a little sightseeing. Look at the houses. You love judging the houses. Critique them. Give them ratings. 9:15 That would be my favorite part. We do that the whole time. Stop. Letâs go. Donât get people excited, Matt, âcauseâ Letâs do this. 9:21 Youâre not going to go. Look, lookâ I will say this. There are so many things that I want to do, 9:27 and I really havenât been on a vacation in like two and a half years. And if I did have a spare weekend to go somewhere, the lake would not be my first pick. 9:35 Can Iâ You know how, like, a few episodes ago, we were talking about how thereâs this one guy thatâs always just like, 9:43 âI just really wanted to do that,â and then time goes by, missed opportunities... 9:49 He just doesnât make the time for it, you know? And then he comes back and heâs like, âIâm just so irritated that I never got to do that,â 9:57 and everyoneâs like, âYou could have, but you justâyou didnât.â I totally agree with you. I will say this, though. 10:05 Iâm not complaining that I havenât got to. Iâm just saying if I do do it, it wonât be the lake. Iâm justâ I actually doâ 10:10 Iâm gonna say this because itâs kind of a crazy thought Iâve been having. Iâve been thinking about just doing it. Becauseâwhatever. 10:17 So my thing right now is golf, and trying to see if I can get really good. And there is a course in New Yorkâ 10:25 itâs like where the Ryder Cup is going to be played here soon. And for the next two weeks, they shut down the course after that to prepare. 10:32 One of the hardest, best courses in the United States. They only do walk-up tee times. 10:37 And so right now, people are driving to New York, camping out in their vehicles in the parking lot, 10:45 in hopes that the next morning, when they wake up, theyâll be in line in time to get a tee time to play. 10:52 And in my head Iâm like, âIâll justâ Iâm going tomorrow. Why not?â What an adventure, right? Doesnât that sound fun? 10:59 How long is the drive? Fourteen and a half hours. By yourself? 11:05 I mean, I donât know anybody whoâd maybe go with me. Well, Iâll beâ 11:11 Thatâs likeâ Thatâs my rush of an adventure right now. Something like that. That sounds fun. 11:18 Matt, what isâwhat would be your adventure this week? Oh my gosh, I can't. We have two seconds here. 11:24 Sheâs looking for your card. Do you want a breakfast sandwich? Sheâs looking for my card. Oh, you want a breakfast sandwich? 11:30 Oh, you'reâ I've been orchestrating. It doesnât work for you. He's been orchestrating this the entire time. 11:38 Well, it was Abigail's idea to use Lindsay. Let me give her a correctâokay, three times. 11:44 So, I think my card is in theâ my car is in theâ 11:51 my card is in the car, which is not at the shop because I got picked up this morning because they didnât want our cars at the shop. Surprise Caller Joins the Chaos 12:02 Okay, so useâ I can just use that money Katie gave me yesterday, and I can just Venmo request if that works. 12:09 There's a bill. Oh, there's a bill. Thereâs a bill because Evan paid me for something yesterday. 12:15 Itâs on the table next to the flower chair, closest to the door. 12:20 Oh yeah, I know. I already saw it. Itâs the one closest to the door. I know exactly what youâre talking about. 12:29 Or down here. I will text you orders. Money, money, money. 12:34 Matt didâ He didnât get our order, though. Oh, I thought you just wanted donuts. 12:42 Gave meâlookedâ What a man thing to do. 12:47 I was trying to keep the podcast rolling. What a man thing to do. The whole time, I was doing this. The whole time, trying to keep 12:53 the podcast rolling. I didnât want to stop. But now that weâve stopped, thenâ IâmâIâm just going to take over and justâ 12:59 Is it Callieâs? But he was doing it on my card, you know. 13:05 And he wasnât even going to ask you what you really wanted. You know, Abigail said, âHey, just get me some glazed.â 13:14 Letâs just go with theâjust glazed. Just glazed. OG glazed. Sure. 13:21 Are thereâwhat are they like? What were they called? Chinklas? What are theyâChunkas? Kalachis? Kajis? 13:28 Tinkas? Chunkas? Look, thatâs like the flip-flop. The sandal. 13:35 [Laughter] I mean, not even three or four of themâchinkles. 13:40 Not even in the same hemisphere. Iâm sorry. I would have loved to have been in there. Kalachis? 13:46 What? They donât have them. Okay. Unfortunately, that was the issue. So Iâll tell herâsome plain glazed. 13:56 Okay. What were we talking about? What was it? You were about to ask me. Play in the lake? No, youâyeah, you asked me what my idealâ Your little trip. 14:04 I want to go to the lake. âCause now Iâm reallyâif anythingâ Iâm in more of a position now to go on the lake. 14:12 We might do a little trip in August. We might do a little lake trip at the end of August. I might do that. Like, I can be at the lake for a couple days and be goodâ 14:19 unless I'm fishing. We donât really go for more than two nights. I was more talking about, like, a couple hours. 14:26 No. And then if Iâm fishing, Iâm good with the lake. I like to go fishing. But I like the mountains. Like, give me a mountain cabin or something. 14:32 We have kayaks, and you can kayak fish. And Iâve been lookingâ Iâve been thinking aboutâ Maddie wants a boat. Obviously, weâre not going to get a boat right now. 14:39 But I want a paddle board. Yeah, like somethingâ I want, like, something like a little pond skipper. 14:44 Like something like a littleâyou know, like a jon boat. Those arenât really cheap either. But a kayak would be cool. We should have a little team fishing night. 14:54 Iâm ready. Iâm so in. Fishing era this year. Yeah. Yeah, Iâm so happy. And then you let the babies just toddle around and BBO. Horse Adventures Coming Up 15:02 We went fishing last night and didnât catch anythingâ âcause Percy Priest has no fish in it. But Iâve been fishing like crazy. Letâs have a little fishing night. 15:09 I have my poles in my car right now. I have a collapsible pole in my car that Iâve never gotten the chance to use. Would like to see if itâs worth anything. 15:16 Nice. We should do that. Canât this weekend, âcause me and Abigail are going to Texas. 15:21 So thatâs one thing weâre doing. Right now, it justâ 15:27 Iâve traveled more this summer than I have in a long time. There were just tripsâ Like, we had a family trip. Me and Jonathan did our honeymoon trip. 15:35 So I just havenât really had the time. But I need to go ride Denver to assess if itâs in 15:42 the cards to possibly show in a class at NSBA World. I think Iâm going to also practice halter a bit as well, 15:49 because heâs going to be shown by a professional halter trainer at the NSBA World Congress and World Showâ which is a new thing that weâve decided on. 15:58 So heâs going to be showing in the performance halter stallions, and I can show him as an amateur and a non-pro in that. 16:07 So I think Iâll at least do that, but I need to go ride him. And I donât really mind if Aaron says, âNo, I think we should wait.â 16:15 Like, I donât think thatâs a bad thing at all. But I justâ We need to go do it so that I can make plans 16:21 and we can figure out what dates weâre going to NSBA World and stuff like that. Because regardless, weâll watch Aaron show him. 16:28 But if Iâm going to be showing, itâsâitâs different. So thatâs what weâre doing this weekend. We get to stay in the giraffe room! 16:34 Abigailâs never stayed in the giraffe room. Iâve only stayed there once. 16:39 So High Point Performance Horses has some exotics. Thatâs where my stallion stands. 16:46 Iâve talked about it beforeâhow they have giraffes. They do a lot of work with giraffe conservation. 16:52 They work with some really amazing people and vets and whatnot. So theyâve got their giraffe sanctuary, 16:57 and then theyâve got their tapirs and their capybaras and all that good stuff. The giraffe roomâyou can actually rent it. 17:04 Iâll put the link in the description on how to rent it. But you can rent this apartment that Gerald the giraffeâ 17:10 he can literally just come up to your window while youâre sleeping. You can pullâheâs a cool dude. You can pull the blind down too. Like, 17:16 you donât have to. Heâs alwaysâ Just open your eyes, and heâs just there. 17:22 So itâs a really cool spot. Weâre going to go do that. Weâll see VS Code Red. Weâll go hang out with Waylon. Weâll see Denver and ride Denver. 17:30 And so weâre just going forâ Is it literally one night? I think itâs just one night that weâre going. 17:35 Weâre leaving tomorrow morning and coming back Saturday night. Yeah, so itâs just a little quick trip. Yeah, so itâs just a little quick trip. 17:43 Usually, we try to plan it way ahead of time, and Matt and Nate come, and we try to make some videos while weâre there and make it a thing. 17:51 And this is just like a âgoing to ride my horseâ type thing. So Iâm excited for that as well. 17:59 There was a little bit of... I donât know the wordâ oh, we have to follow up. There were some issues with our A Little Travel Issue! 18:09 ID formsâforms of identification to fly. Okay, so on theâ 18:15 was it with you or with Rachel that we talked about my passport being gone? I think it was me. It was you. 18:21 Okay. It was on the last episode that Iâwe explained that my passport got lost and we filed a claim. 18:27 People in the comments were like, âYouâll never get it back.â You did? It came this morning. 18:33 No way. Yes! We got it back. Letâs get a picture of it. Soâso we got it back. 18:39 So, Iâwe had to make an appointment to go get our Tennessee Stars on our licenses to be able to fly. 18:46 And the next appointment was like September, because weâve waited this long. So we were like, âOh, weâll just use our passports.â 18:53 And so, I had to hopefully get my passport back in time to fly, which I have. But then she realized her passport was like three hours away at home. 19:03 Soâ So I will be leaving today at 2:00 to go get my passport. 19:09 Is Mom meeting you or are you going all the way home? I'm meeting her in Jackson. Okay. So it's still like a two-hour drive. 19:16 Itâs a 40-minute drive for her, itâs like a two-hour drive for me. So we're going to, you knowâ 19:23 weâll have that just because we already have to fly in August to go to NSBA World. 19:29 And so itâs likeâwe had to do it anyway, because we wouldnât be able to get our licenses back in time before that. 19:35 So anyway. Thatâs fine. 19:41 Yeah. And thenâI mean, we already kind of touched on thisâ but Janice had her baby! You know, thereâs a whole video about that, 19:46 about his little vet visit, so go watch that if you havenât already. Him going out for the first timeâ he is absolutely amazing. 19:53 Did we tell yâall the name? No, we havenât told yâall the name. No, I donât know the name. What Did We Name the Latest Foal?? 20:00 Okay, soâtrash. I heard it with my ultra-hearing headphones. 20:05 So there were two choices. I was going to let themâyeah, go ahead. And then I was going to tell them which one it was. 20:11 Well, you did yesterday. Okay. So we had the two choices. It was either Jack or Trip. TrapperâTrapper or Jack. 20:20 Jack or Trip. And it was either going to be Running Springs Jack on the RocksâR O X Xâ 20:26 because his dad is âIâll Cuttinâ Rocks the House.â So good. Or TripâRunning Springs Triple Shot on the Rocks. 20:33 We decided that Jack wasâ I thought Jack is the stronger option. So literallyâ but now that Tripâs on the table... 20:39 Social media was so divided. Iâve never seen people be so gung-ho for these names. 20:45 Like usually, itâs like, âOh, thereâs a winner here.â Yeah. It was so divided. TikTok loved Jack. 20:53 Facebook loved Trip. It was so divided. And then even at home, it was divided. 20:59 We loved Jack. Lindsay and Rachel loved Trip. Likeâit wasâyeah. 21:04 So I chose the one I liked. We got Jack. 21:10 It was the right decision. Jack and Janice. Like, thatâs why I like Jack. It justâit fits. 21:16 And he justâ I donât know, Iâve been calling him âJack-Jack.â And heâs justâ I mean, RS Jack on the Rocks is justâyeah. 21:22 Think aboutâ think about like if he is a stallion one day, and we make the ads like we do for Code Red and First Things First. 21:30 Think about the ad we can makeâ and itâs like him just sitting there drinking some whiskey. Yeah. Okay. 21:39 A littleâlike, we could do a lot with that. A little AI image of him as a horse in a suit, drinking whiskey. 21:47 Anywayâ No, weâre not doing that. Yeah. Okay. Weâve got to figure out what What Will We Do with the Boy Goats? 21:52 weâre doing with Sprout and Bean, because theyâre boys. 21:58 Theyâre humping. They refuse to keep their aprons on. They are older, so itâs likeâ if you donât know, Abigailâs 22:05 keeping Brown and Spoutâ Brown and Spout. 22:11 Brownâ That sounds like a what? 22:20 I donât know. Do you use âSpain,â or is Spain a name? I donât think thatâs a word. 22:26 That might be the first time itâs ever been said. I think it might be. Iâve never evenâBrown and Spain. That isâthat is a duo that no oneâs ever heard. Next year. 22:34 So sheâs keeping those two. And so, weâthis house was supposed to be done in, like, June. 22:42 It is end of July. It is still not. Forgot about that. Now, sheâs living somewhere. Sheâs not homeless. Okay. 22:50 But weâ I think the drywallâs up? No. I thought it was supposed to go up this week. 22:57 Next week. Oh god, it keeps getting pushed. So weâve got to figure out where weâre putting these little things 23:04 until they can go home. Theyâre going to be grown by the timeâ 23:10 They just need to goâ They just go live in theâ Well, I guess you could put them over there, couldnât you? 23:16 You could just put them over there. You donât have to be living there. Yeah. No, theyâve got to have someoneâ 23:23 You just right down the road I mean, Iâd still go over there and play. But I donât want them to go bond with someone else and then have to leave. 23:33 I see. I see. So, like, put them over thereâ âCause Rebecca had mentioned, âOh, they could come stay with Edward and Jacob.â 23:40 And I also donât want the girls to be like, âYouâre taking them.â Oh yeah. Youâre right. 23:45 Yeah, youâre right. Youâre right. I mean, we have an empty pasture right now at the mini farm. Like, there is a pasture that has nothing in it. 23:52 So we canâ I was thinking about this the other day. We could actually put all the babies over there. 23:57 Because the odds ofâ you know, like, the boys can get mature really early, 24:03 the odds of the girls being mature that early are very lowâat like 8 weeks or whatever. 24:08 So we could still keep their little aprons on, but we could go put themâ 24:14 Or what we could do is we could leave them in the play area and move the older ones over to their pasture. 24:20 âCause, I mean, they donât reallyâ Yeah. They donât really play, you know? So they could go to the pasture thatâs open. Yeah. 24:26 And then just keep all the babies in one area for the time being. Thatâd be good. Oh my gosh, what are you doing? She decided she doesnât like me. 24:34 Oh, she wants to just be right here. So youâre going to be a goat mom. 24:40 And thenâwe were discussing this the other dayâ youâre very duck... duck-ho these days. 24:46 Yes. Iâm very likeâwants ducks. Duck-centered. Focused right now. Letâs Talk About Ducks 24:54 What kind did you say the other day? Youâyou whittled it down. So I have a few: Runner ducks, Welsh Harlequin, Khaki Campbell. 25:08 I really, really want a Call Duck, but Iâm probably not going to get one because theyâre just cute. 25:14 Like, I donât think they necessarily outproduce the other ones or anything. 25:20 Theyâre just really cute. You can have a bunch of different colors, but theyâre very good flyers from what Iâve seen. And I donât want to have to clip their wings. 25:30 So Iâm maybe saving that for later down the road. 25:36 But I want a better handle on duck-etry. And Iâm not gettingâwhat is it called? 25:42 A drake. You knowâfowlery. Fowlery. Fowlerist. 25:48 Youâre going to be a fowler. Fowler. Is thatâ Is that what itâ Yeah, I think so. 25:54 Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Big time. I'm four to start. I think I know the Khaki Campbell. I used to live off McMurray Hatchery. 26:03 I used to go on the website all the time and just shop. Yeah, Iâve been looking. How do youâcan you choose, like, âI just want females. I donât want a maleâ? 26:13 You can pay. You pay more for it. You can either pay forâ You can do sexed or unsexed. 26:24 [Laughter] Or unsexed. 26:34 Theyâre just more expensive. Little horse joke from me. Okay, I have noâ I have zero clue about ducks. How much is, like, four little sexed ducks? 26:42 So if you got four little girl ducksâ like 30 bucks, I think, a piece. You get ducklingsâtheyâre probably four a piece. 26:50 No, no. Not a piece. Like, twoâ Theyâre probably five, six, seven dollars a piece, depending on the kind. 26:56 The chickens are like, you know, two dollars a piece. Okay. Just depends on how rare it is. Okay. 27:02 And then you alwaysâ They always, you know, you have a minimum order. Mhm. I thinkâ Not on ducksâmaybe on ducks, you do. 27:09 The one that I was looking atâ like, a lot of them were minimum six. But I found one that was three, because I only want four. 27:17 I donât want to start out too big. I will say this, thoughâ You know, most of the time, 90% of the time, they all turn out fine. 27:24 But with chickens, like, you goâ You get a hundredâ Thatâs why Iâm gettingâ I ideally would just start out with two, 27:31 but if something happens to one, then I just have one alone. So I want to get at least three, but I think Iâve decided on four. 27:38 Mhm. âCause I think, like you said, I donât think handling four would be that much different than three. 27:43 Well, she was like, âI donât know if I want to commit to four.â Iâm like, if youâre already committing to threeâ youâre already feeding them, you already have an area for themâ 27:51 I donât think four is going to make a big difference. I really donât. I say that as someone whoâs never handled them, 27:57 so I donât know. Iâve had chickens and ducks and turkeys my whole life. From what Iâve seen, you canâ 28:02 like, all the different kinds of them get along with each other really well. 28:09 So I could get, like, two runner ducks and then I could get two different ones. 28:16 Which is probably what Iâll do, because I think I do want runner ducks. Are they flightless? Yeah. 28:23 Are the Welsh Harlequins flightless? I donât think so, but I donât think theyâre as good of flyers. 28:30 Mhm. I could be wrong. I was going to sayâwe would loveâ the duck people are going to fact-check me. Which, you know what, 28:36 just be open to the duck people though, because weâre new to this. Iâm not new to this. Youâre new to this. 28:43 Iâm staying out of the duck-etry. Iâm staying out of it. I will come look at them and say, 28:48 âOh, theyâre really cute,â and then Iâll... I want to be invested and involved as much as possible. 28:54 I thinkâIâm excited. Yay. I saw a TikTok this morning of someoneâ this girl had three, and they were 29:00 like teenagers, I guessâ and she was walking them all. Like, there were three runner ducks and they all had a harness and a leash, 29:08 and they were all just walking next to her dog. It was so cute. Do they live in her house? I think so. 29:14 Right now, I think theyâ To be that tame, theyâd have to. I think theyâd have to think theyâre little babies and live in your house. 29:22 Which isnât a problem. Iâve done the house livestock before. I would do it. Ducks are different, though. 29:28 I would do it. Birds are different. Are you going to kill them? I donât know. 29:33 I donât know if she would kill them or if she wouldâ She loves the goats. She gets so excited 29:39 going over to the goats, and she just wants in so bad. And Iâve taken her in before on the leash, and she just goes up to them and sheâs like wagging her tail and sniffing. 29:46 Maybe we need to go today and do a little âIntroduce Moo to her brothersâ kind of thing. 29:53 âCause I want them to feel comfortable around her too when theyâre older. So maybe weâll go out in the front yard, maybe where itâs a little more open, 30:02 and just let herâlet her meet her brothers. What are youâwhat are you going to do with them? Story About Bella 30:08 Youâmyâokay. I will never forget when I got Bella, my first goat ever. I will never forget this. 30:15 It was theâI wish I could have captured it, because itâs the funniest image in my brain. When I got Bella, she was like, I donât know, 10 weeks old. 30:23 And, you know, because we didnât have our fence finished, I was keeping her in the house. And it was really cold, so I was like, 30:29 âIâm going to keep her in the house for like a month or two, just so that weâre bonded and besties.â So if you were here during the house goat era, it was a fun time for the time that we had it. 30:39 And so I tried to get herâ and she did get to where she was fine with the dogs. It got to where everyone was fine together. 30:44 But at first, I was trying to introduce her one at a time. And, you know, she was wearing a diaper and she was laying with me a bunch, 30:51 because for the first few days I didnât let the dogs in with her, so she was comfortable with me. And I introduced her to Kimmy, and Kimmy seemed fine. 30:59 Kimmy is my seven-pound miniature dachshund, okay? She seemed fine. She was a little frantic and sniffing her and stuff, 31:06 but she didnât seem like she was going to do anything. And so I look downâ because Iâm holding them both 31:12 and they had seemed to settle inâ I thought they were just laying in my lap. Yeah. I look down, 31:17 and Kimmyâs just looking at me with this goatâs leg in her mouth. Oh my gosh. Like she justâ Sheâs just gnawing on it. 31:24 And Iâm like, âWhat is happening?â Because Bella wasnât doing anything. She didnât feel anything. 31:29 And Kimmyâs just got this whole leg in her mouth. And Iâm like, âOkay.â So Kimmyâher prey drive is there. 31:35 She just doesnât have thatâ Itâs good to know she canât do much. I donât think she can do much. Unfortunately, I donât think she has much of aâ 31:42 Sheâs killed one mouse in her life, and that was a big day for her. 31:48 We were proud. We praised. Sheâyou know, I think it was honestly one that was already kind of on the way out. 31:53 Yeah, I donât think Moo has gotten to it. And not necessarily that I want her to, 31:59 but I do think it would be the happiest day of her life if she caught, like, a squirrel or a bird or something. 32:06 I donât want her toâ but I kind ofâ I showed you that video. I showed her a video of a corgi that was with a bunch of hound dogs, 32:14 and they sent the corgi up the treeâ because it was like a tree that was leaning. And this corgi went all the way up this tree, 32:20 and like treed this coon, and got up on the limb with it. It was crazy. I'm like, âShe would do that.â 32:25 She would. She would totally do that. 100%. Alright, she got that dog. Closing Up 32:32 Yeah, she does got that dog in her. Anyway, hope yâall enjoyed todayâsâ I mean, weâ I donât even know what we did. 32:38 I think we justâ I donât even thinkâ Vibed. We vibed. It was a good vibe. We just chatted. 32:43 Anyway, let us know what you'd like to hear about in future Katching Up With Katie episodes.
