How's your back? How it feels like I have undone all the good that was done? I went for my first massage today. Nice, and it's something I've been talking about for about five years. And you had about forty five minutes of feeling good and now you're just all feel like I did. It's back up was a bummer. Well if we can work that out with the help of Jeff Gerstman. Isn't that the Russian stuff you're supposed to hurt for a while? Well, I mean, is that the one where ladies and high heels walk on your back? Massages is. I mean, it's different than chiropractors. That's I know, but a deep I was just talking to somebody got its like I felt like sick afterwards because of all the toxins that were released. That's what I heard too, and I was kind of hoping for that. But you grasp crystals, crystals while this is being done, and I think that's when it's supposed to. Yeah, she did say I might be sore, but you know, I am now judging all massages by this one person who gave me massage, Like, oh that's what massages. Okay, wait, holding you did? Your wife just gave you a quick little shoulder rub down, just punched me in the kidneys. That sent me on the way happy money. Damn. It felt great for a while and once I stopped peeing blood after the shock war off. No, it was great. It was an hour long, which sounds like a really long time, but time flies by when you're thinking about all the weird things with your body that this person is now exploring that. Yeah, you know, you just want to avoid that part. Just move on. It's a detour sign right there, And like like, oh, it feels good, but I still feel shame. Yeah that's Oh nobody's been down there the while. Uh yeah, it was cool, but I actually did want, like, thinking back, I want one of those like crazy just man handled me. This is a huge dude, I want you to roll me into a ball and guy in the white polo shirt. No, no shirt, just like like Zangeef style, like dude in a towel. Hey yeah no, it doesn't even speak English, like daw start punching me in the back, laid down, Yeah, okay, all right, like a Turkish bath. Just kind of like pounding the crap out of me because like when she was in there, I mean there are parts that actually hurt and like you know, I'm not gonna be like stop. Uh those felt the best after she stopped, you know, like released the pressure. So I kind of like want more of that. I mean, I'm just masochistic. I don't know learning things about then I played super meat Boy and that was great. The pain really came on. Anyway, enough about my massages, never enough about your massages. You know, I may I'll go back someday. It's one of like it's after every trip I've ever been on, like working and working around out here in California, crazy California with your hippie weed. I've always been like, yeah, I should go for a massage after that, because my shoulders of killing and everything. I never went. So I felt like this was, you know, four years built up and I was just gonna spill out of my mouth or something like that. Such start throwing up in the middle of that's TGS two. Yeah, there goes that four to interview. What, Jeff, how you doing? I'm doing all right? Yeah, yeah, I don't know. How was your weekend? That's okay. I went out for pancakes, height pancakes at a firehouse. You went, You went to a pancake pancake feed. Oh where was the pancake feed? Point racer at the firehouse. The firehouse is like a fundraiser. Yeah, yeah, never heard of it. It's like six bucks, and you know it's like they got going pan hang out and have a fireman's surview, pancakes and eggs and sausage and stuff, flap jacks. They were giving kids. They were giving kids rides and fire trucks. I thought about hanging out trying to they have the bucket truck, but it was raining out, so no, that the plate sounds like a weekend end or anyway. And that was Sunday morning, so the rest of Sunday, Yeah, went straight out the window. We were just like God's naptime. I like the smell of a firehouse, Like there's like a weird plastic rubb there's a rubber smell to everything that I really enjoy. And I think I could identify the smell of a firehouse. It's more of a breakfast smell. Yeah, make all that food in there. So it wasn't really they had all the trucks outside, you know, it's like people eating where the trucks are normally parked. Smell the trucks. I had not smell the trucks. It was raining. It was raining really hard, so it's a bummer. Yeah, the smell of the truck probably would have been washed off in the rain. That new truck smell. My dad was a volunteer fireman, so I used to go and smell the trucks and the foodsball table. Was that his job? But that food ball table smell the truck? Is he a truck smell? No? But they had they had clean up every week or and they had just washed the trucks every so we'd go hang out. Fire has have awesome bars. If you got to see the bar in the fire house, I feel like that's like in the stipulation, like awesome bar like in the firehouse. Yeah, totally. I didn't see any of that. I had of crazy people have bars in the workplace. Yeah, it seems wildly. Guys have to put out fires. You know you're gonna gonna be putting out of fire, might as well have one or two in you. That's a good point. I see some holes in logic, but I'm gonna let it come and let it. I totally felt like when I was growing up, it's like yeah, fuck yeah, like you gotta especially volunteer fire back like you do this like not even that's just like I'm not even getting paid. I gotta put out some fires, risk a couple of shots. Fuck, it's the least you could do. Yeah, just make them braver. Plus they can like blow fireballs ball yeah, like I don't know, trying to dig the flask out of their shoot when they're just like no, I gotta get there. They were fun guys at that firehouse. They were a bunch of funk man. They could drink they could would probably help ye big huge, Yeah, totally. They're great bunch of guys. Chili Firehouse Chili, Yeah yeah, great Christmas parties. You know, pancake feeds at the Firehouse pretty regularly in Yeah, this is the first time I've ever been to a pancake feed. It was just like the word feed just brings to mind like a trough. You know. I could have gone back up and gotten more. I opted not to. It's like four h would do it, uh, yeah, you know, and yeah Kiwanis Club, Yeah, would do would do a pancake feed. Guys that would wear a fez think about civics. What was what was the shriner's right, yep, what was your what was your like charity fundraiser, food event of your youth? Don't I don't know what that means. Clearly there has to be like we gotta have some kind of like, you know, waffle I don't think, yeah, chili feed or like plenty of stuff like that around, but I have literally never ever been to one, and so you're even at least aware of that stuff. Yeah, we did more. We did more distributed fundraising, like candy sale. Those kids candy bars were good dud. Did you sell candy bars as a kid raise money for your local something? X insert x here told us to do it break dancing club. My dad would just that money. My dad would just buy a bunch of them because they were some good ass candy bars. My neighbor was a real profit here though. He bought candy on his own and sold it at school nice, like twenty five cents, Paul. He didn't get busted at school for that. He did. Yeah, there were kids selling gum dingers at school. When I was in elementary school, it was hairheads. Gotcha's gotchas were the big thing. Were those super sour things? Right? Yeah? Pleasant to eat? But I think this is before the big sour craze of the what was the eighties? Earlier? What was the I was just eating a bunch of warheads earlier? Yea over the weekend. I wasna. That was back when candy was candy. I was about to ask what was the hot equivalent of the gotcha? Was it the warhead? Yeah, it's like super hot? Oh no, the warhead was the sour? Oh okay, the hot hot hot regional brands or something. I don't big red gum that's the oh spicy, oh Jesus hot like Centnamon, but more so like this like three in his mouth. I like this, And I just I just hit the kmart over the weekend and bought a bag of they have just sour candy, just one of the big like Halloween candy bags bags, just like you're just all the sour candy, like, like, are you talking like Smarties? There were some, there were some extra sour Smarties. I also bought a separate bag of the Smarties because yeah, you like you like some Smarties around Halloween time. Yeah, any any I mean anytimes, but like when it's around time Halloween time, you can kind of justify it easier to find. I think, yeah, that's true. Also, I just have a box of full sized TwixT bars that I bought for myself like two to three months ago, and I've only eaten like one or two of them because I'm like, that's a lot of candy bars. So I think if anyone, if anyone comes by for Halloween, they're getting full full sized candy bars. World world will get out fast. And then what's gonna happen when those things go? You're just gonna I gotta go back to Costco. Somebody's gonna egg your house. I we won't be back home by the time trick or treating happens. It's like Sunday or something that shit owned. Yeah. I'm trying to decide if I want to go out. I don't know, Like I got some options. It's like a zombie party. Yeah. Oh man, this is actually maybe Saturday. Maybe all the parties aren't Saturday. Being hung over on Monday morning. I don't know. It's worked out for me so far. I don't know what I'm gonna do. We'll see. Halloween has has passed me. I have enjoyed. I have done the like just stay home and watch horror movies and hand out candy. Thing that's pretty good. Drink whiskey. Yeah that's not bad. Yeah, just hanging out. That's right, blizz Con did happen this week? What's gonna happened? And they sell online passes and also direct TV passes. Just watch it on television. Isn't like the direct TV pass? You buy that and then you get a pet or something. Isn't there always some attachment? Yeah? There was a zombie zombie merlock I think was the pet this year. I bet that things already like five hundred bucks on eBay or something. I would think that people would understand that they only need to pay it was like fifty bucks for the past forty yeah, I think they would do that. They been doing it for so long now that Pete I have to imagine to get ahead of most of the people that wanted one would But yeah, there'd be some people that like, yeah, I guess I'll be some people that forgot. There's always some sucker out there, Yeah, especially you know us based that big Yeah. Any highlights from the from the blizz Con. Didn't watch any of the panels yet, tried to circle back around and see some of those. I did watch a lot of StarCraft matches. Who won between Fruit Dealer in a Boxer I don't know, and I don't want to know because I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, But they were not part of the tournament, right, Yeah, exhibition. It was a good idea because, like the way Bob characterized it, to me, this is a good analogy. Was its kind of like Kobe playing Jordan. Yeah, you know, it's like the all time great versus like the guy, the current hot guy. Yes, you know, Kobe's not exactly nothing comer, but he's like in Bob's mind he still is. But yeah, I mean it's kind of like, yeah, the current, the current like star versus sort of it. Yeah, so I saw they announced that it was it the demon Hunter class. Yeah, that was the last three class, which is like that sounds like the class you'd want to be when you're hunting a devil. Okay, I shouldn't be the witch doctor. No, how about the army guy. Are we going after witches? Hope? Do we need the heal witches? These witches are sick. Call the witch doctor. Hey, we're going after a giant devil. Who are you? I'm a demon hunter? Oh? Perfect, great, Great that works out. It's kind of busy. I don't know if I want to join. I've got this one thing that kills demons. Great, just come with us. Yeah, we were going this way. I was gonna go pray and my friend here is ready to heal any sick witches. So that guy just yeah, he just screams a lot. He hangs out, he has night terrors, so trying to stay in his tent if you can help it. Uh So Yeah, so demon Hunter last of the classes. So now now they're they're they're done with those announcements from back in three years when the game comes out, I was gonna say, so next year they can announce that's coming out in twenty thirteen, and then delay it in twenty twelve, and then rework all the classes yep, and then Diablo three Part one twenty fifteen. Oh, they did it. They did announce the PvP stuff. Yeah. I don't know, this is this stepping on the toes of news too much? Or should we just talk about this now? Yeah? Yeah, PvP arenas, which is kind of cool. So I guess there's no more consensual PvP in the game itself. Okay, you gotta go into arenas. I didn't. I didn't play Diabo two online. I don't know about your guys got bad apparently. Yeah, the griefing was just just about intolerable from you know, especially with it when there was a lot of hacking going on. You know, it was hard to you had no chance. Yeah. Yeah, you just have guys walk up and it's like, oh, my ear is gone. So it's kind of I guess it's cool that they're splitting that stuff out. Yeah, Like, if you want to play PvP, you go into the arena. That's it. Also, I like that if you have a hardcore character and you go in the arena and you lose, character's gone. Nice gone like one loss with a hardcore character in the arena and that character is done. Death is death, man. I don't call it hardcore unless you mean it. It sounds like they're gonna do like ladder type stuff. There's gonna be seasons sort of like and and it sounds like there will be ladder stuff, but there won't necessarily be like the hardcore like ranking stuff. It'll be more about like kind of constant player progressions. So you will fight and even if you lose, you will progress somehow. So like doing seasons and stuff like that seems a little weird for a game like which click click click click click. Wow, it's kind of StarCraft as well. Hey watch it comes. But if it's but if you're in an arena and then it's like click on that guy, right, so yeah, not click on a bunch of different things and click on that guy and then push three and then click on it again. Well that's cooling down, hit six and click on. So yeah, so I'm also curious to see how that stuff work out. But they detail that's still no release date for autow three. Uh what else? They said that Cataclysm is gonna be releasing day of digitally along with the regular retail you can actually preloaded and you can Yeah. Yeah, so it's great because you know they use that Torrent distribution method. Sure, sure it's great for their bandwidth bill but maybe not so much for like day one adoptees. Adoptors always, it's always a thing. So is there a start date on that? Is that is seventh December? Wow? Yeah, it has a date. I don't I believe it is this doubt the same day as Tron I was going to play that. You know, I'm thinking about I think I might have to turn it on. My dude might have to play that. He should be just making new characters. You've been turning on dudes for years, true, big Russian dude, just commit now, new characters now. I want to handle your back, please please do and no fold me in half the other way. Is there a new classes and cataclysm it's all they're like a Worgans, It's but there's new race class combinations. I think they've got all of them, right, Yeah, I don't. I don't think there's anybody that body can't be. So the Goblins and the Organs are the new races, and then they could be paladins or whatever those things organs don't have. Yeah, I know that was a big uproar over that. What do they just like it don't turn into Yeah, they just go they're just worgan they just start running. That makes sense, Uh, forget all that, Okay, Blizzard dodah. So yeah, So they also said that they're going to do some or that they have done some custom maps for StarCraft two, all kind of inspired by existing games. There's a but the one that matters, a Left for Dead inspired one, and which I guess it's just sort of like the zombies come out at night level. It's based on that mission, yeah, of StarCraft two. Uh and so yeah, so one of them is StarCraft. Yeah, they're just hold straight up make a doda in the in the StarCraft two engine. I thought that happened like day one. Well there was some somebody made one in the beta and put it out. Yeah, this is like the thing that you'll just be able to get and play. And but what are like the hero like what it were? They they're all actual Blizzard heroes. So like I think Elden is in there there actually cross game. Yeah, they're makes actual name like Sylvanas from Craft and stuff like that. I think they're actually just like pulling those models from the other games. I'm not mistaken up res my bit. I don't know. I'm not sure what they're doing. I think they said like some characters from like Diablo would be appearing, so I don't but using the Doda name, which Valve has filed a trademark for. Yeah, I love it happened. I love that this is getting interesting and more like, I love that they this is they found a way to make this more confusing. Yeah, it was just like up until this past weekend, it was just a bunch of impotent rage. Yeah, but now kind of makes this even more interesting. Yeah, I have photographic proof of of Gabe noul At Blizz playing that playing playing the StarCraft Doda, so he is even like, all right, what the fuck are those guys doing and what does this mean to us? Hopefully everybody will be cool about it. I think it's it's past it's past that point. So yeah, it's like they are on a collision course. The only way for it to be cool is for one of them to say, like, all right, you're right now, somebody's gotta work, not gonna do somebody has to blink right right, m you know, maybe they work it out. Yeah, I don't know. The plot thickens. I don't fight. That sounds awesome, sounds ugly. Yeah, the last beloved PC development. We don't We don't have to worry about PC games after that, right, those two clash just blow each loses, goes to consoles. Who's up for Stalker three? Let's go play some more. That'd be a big bummer. Those guys need to worry about making games, you know. But it kind of doesn't matter what either of those companies are doing and and all this, like that's not really like what does bass Hunter think about all this? Like that's that's what really. Yeah, he's working on a new concept album too, about Doda too, But it's about bl your dodabouts album story of the Daga Flash of Heroes. It's like twenty one twelve man. It's a concept album like the Wall, the whole thing saying that, like Guitar Hero is actually gonna be Doda three man. Uh, yes, there will be a Dota mod for Guitar Hero. Great great Doda everywhere. Yes, I thought that he bejeweled and the StarCraft mash up looked pretty interesting. I haven't seen any of the shop. I haven't seen the images, but the description sounds great. It's like you play you play Bejeweled on half the screen. The other half is like tower defense or something or The thing that's awesome about it is that it's not tower defense versus AI. It's two versus two human players. Okay, so this is all free, it's all free, all coming out for all all. You need a StarCraft two. But yeah, like you play the match three on one side to build up mana and then you cash the manna into like send out specific units on the tower defense side against the other side. So it's like, man, it's it's crazy. Games are weird. It's just what. And then there's another one based on Iron Chef called I Your Chef. Yes, I don't know even know how that persons, no idea whatever my eggs Benedict for ire, I don't know. Jimmy Rayner could make it mean chili, I betty could? I bet he could too. Fay Caravella, Hey man, how's your chili? It's pretty It's all right. It's what kind of what do you use? What? What's your go to? I go vegetarian. Chili. Yeah. Uh, and I like get hot yeah, spicy short of beans, uh, mostly black beans. Put a little pinto in there maybe, yeah, kidney beans as well. It's softened up nice. Yeah. Man though, but haben narrows, that's that's the key. Yeah, that's pretty hot. Yeahs. Also, these little I don't know what they are there in all the Chinese supermarkets near me, These like really shriveled up little peppers, you know what they are? Like a dark red like yeah, chili peppers. All those things are the double Yeah, put some of those in there. Any actually think those are seahorse penis? Is that what that is? Does I feel? Really? You know? I know they're invigorating. Yeah, you want to grind that up? Yeah? No sprinkling on my hot dog before I eat them? Hey? What's I saw you playing a lot of Fallout New Vegas over did I can see everyone swallow? The thing would pop up and say playing fall Out New Vegas and I would look at it go, of course he is, so I'm playing it on the PC. And that game was so much more fun on the PC because you reach like a lockpick, like a lockpick thing like a check and it's like it's too hard for you, and you're poping up the console and say, no, it's not good. It's like player dot whatever it is, seven hundred, can you actually exceed like this? I don't know. I like I've actually been using the console. It's like one of those I forget what my gateway console thing was. But there was something where I got screwed. I got caught in an out and like something like my character was stuck and I was like, all right, one, that's gonna break it. And I opened it up using the cont turned clipping off for a second. You turned it back on. Now you're just like clipping the every wall. Yeah. So now it's like every time I hit a mountain and it's like twenty minutes to walk around here to get that clip right through. There were definitely parts of that game where I spent like an hour trying to get up to the top of a mountain and I just fly because there were lake lurks or you know, some monsters or even just up there or something. Yeah. I was like, there's only one way up and it was just well guarded, and I'm like, dude, there's no way I can make it up. And I wish that I eventually ended up using a seuth Boy, but I wish I could have just like the top of that I've done, I think I think I might actually get the PC version and just play through it again. It's like that I'm trying to not do too much because you know, a lot of that game, a lot of the fun in that game is also kind of leveling, leveling up and the challenge up and stuff like that. But like lock picking stuff, yeah, I don't find for me. It's like it's like they're sectioning you off from parts of the game that I would never see. Speech paths and stuff like that, Like it was. It's why I ended up maxing out speech by the end of the game, because I wanted to make sure to see as many different things as I could. But there are definitely things that came up where it was like, oh, you don't have the luck rating to pursue this speech path, or you can't hack this computer, or I was like, man, I really want to, like, like for the fiction's sake, I'd really like to hack this computer and see what the messages say. Well, it's because it's I don't think I'm gonna go through it again. Yeah, So the way I play those games, and it's kind of the way I play a lot of RPGs, I'll put all my points into the speech or whatever charisma because I, you know, a lot of those games it's not just Fallout. You know, a lot of the joy comes from the funny dialogue or the what you can do to guys and get thee Yeah, and it's almost like you want to get those perks too, and yeah, all that stuff. So I always max out, especially for Fallout in particular, it's maxing out speech, science, and repair because those are the things that like I want to see all the weird options I can get. Fall Out New Vegas seems like they do this more than Fallout three? Did they set up everything really cut and dry of like you can do this if you have a high enough speech. You can do this, if you have a high enough science, right, or you could do this if you have a high enough repair, like most quests almost have like one of each year. Yeah, okay, well I have to go this path because that's what i'spect. Yeah, so, like I don't remember that being such a thing and fall Out of three, where it's so obvious being like literally just on the menu. It's like do you want to repair it? Do you want to do the science option, or do you want to talk to a dude and fix it. So I kind of feel a little cheated putting money into or putting points into science and repair, because I feel like they're always giving me the option to do either. I haven't hit something yet where it's like you can only repair. Definitely, somewhere's one or the other. There's definitely some medicine checks also, So the medicine. I hit a medicine one whereas I was talking to a doctor and it's like you, well you don't have a high enough medicine thing. Hold on, so I'll talk to you in a second. I can't play it that way. I'd be so afraid of medico no, because I would just not I would not have any sort of a game experience and it would just be like warped to end. Yeah, well that's the thing. So, like I've been trying. I actually put it back, the medicine back down after I did that thing, because I was like, I still feel a little bad doing it. So I was like, ah, I'll just leave this year. So the big things that I changed were I kind of feel like I'm tailoring to how I play games. I changed to carry weight right away, like the encumbrance, so it's like, God, that would be so tempting. So it's like, now it's up to like four fifty, and I maxed that out right. Yeah, it was like I'll just take everything, take all, take all. I my lock pick. I put up to like seventy five right away. And there was one other mission where it was kind of I don't know how far it end, but it seemed kind of early on where they wanted me to. I had to check like five radio stations for the military, and they were like scattered out throughout the waste land, like real far and a lot of areas that I hadn't visited yet, and I was like, oh, I don't want to move on until I hit this area. I was like, check out, what's going on. We're getting We're getting kind of weird reports from these five stations or whatever. So one of the command ends and the console it's like okay, okay, and I felt real bad, so I walked it back because I was like, man, I probably missed a bunch of stuff on the way there. But yeah, so that's so clipping the or kind of like movement stuff, because movement is super slow in that game, especially if we're wearing heavy armory. His agility make you go faster if you think so, Okay, so I might max that out. Yeah, so I'm just trying to make it more enjoyable. Yes I'm cheating, but like I don't know, I feel like I'm cheating to make the game more fun for me. Yeah, it's as long as you're seeing the fiction, you're still getting the best parts of that experience, Like that's that's really yeah, And the gameplay is everything you know it to be be already basically there. And as much as you know it's tempting to put my gun skill all the way up, like I'm still leveling that up. I haven't pushed up my levels at all. I did once, but then I kind of put it back down. I just want to see if I could have. You found the shooting, like the Ironside stuff to be better on the PC since got mouse control, But it's all dice rolls anyway, like you aim at do ted just like to me, it's like that stuff's just kind of gotten the way. Yeah, I don't use vats as much, I think as I did in the early game now, but it's mostly because the I feel the companions are actually really good. I have Boone with me, and I have a robot with me as well. Really yeah, so I just walk around and it'll go into the kill cam before I even see dudes, like they're Boone's like sniping dudes. That's to be kind of frustrating and something, because it actually, whenever it happens, it turns you to face Boone. Yeah, so you'll be running away and all of a sudden to go and then you'll be like running the wrong way. Oh wait, wait wait, I gotta turn back around. Yeah, it's kind of weird, and like I never even saw the dude, so it's just like slow motion monster's head coming off. I had a dog for a good long time that would just run off and kill guys and I'm like whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Like what's It's kind of weird. But they're Boone's pretty strong, So dudes will kind of run up and I'll have my shotgun or something get ready to kill him, and he can pick off like three dudes before I can take out one. So I'm waiting for my copy to show up, but you saying, yeah, I'm hanging out with this guy named Boone and a robot. I'm like, oh god, weird robot. He's like one of those little floaty ones at the enclave still, and he plays like this little cell phone jingle that, for some reason in the mix of the game just stands out so much it sounds like the cell phone is going off. Yeah, I still haven't gotten used to it. Every time a bad guy appears, it's plays this little jingle that sounds like it's coming from another room in my apartment, Like, oh, yeah, I know it's in the game. Yeah, so I don't know. I'm using the console. I feel like to to tailor the game to make it more fun for me and also get me out of spots where I feel like it's broken, like when I get stuck in a mountain. Yeah, like okay, oh no, clip and walk on, or like I don't think this guy is supposed to be here, so I'm gonna move him over here, like that kind of stuff. I would have done that for the end of the game when I played it through it on three sixty had I been given the option because I had a companion break on me and basically was put into the end game, which was combat, which I was not necessarily spect for. Yeah, with no help. So yeah, pretty messed up. So it's cool to kind of have the console, like seriously like for that stuff. There's also weird things in that game about the faction stuff. That's probably the biggest armer in that game. I don't enjoy the faction or the quote unquote disguising yourself with other armor. Like I feel like I've had armor on because it's the best armor I had, and then walked up on the dude who's like, hey, just start shooting me, and I'm like, ah, christis because I had that stupid armor on. I need to back up, reload a safe, take that armor off, and go talk to the guy. Realize I'm gonna fight him anyway, it's no other option. And then I don't know. It tells you once in a while it's like, hey, you're still wearing NTR armor. Yeah, okay, great, Yeah, but I don't know, there's never been I have not found a point yet where I need to disguise my right I have. I played for the whole game and never found one spot where that actually benefited me at all, So that part's kind of a bummer. And then and I think we mentioned this on last weeks and I'm want too far into it. The stealing stuff from dudes, your enemies with giving you bad karma, Ye, so stupid, Like I just killed everyone in this house. Everybody loves me for killing him. Now you're gonna dock me for stealing his fucking guana steak off the that's bad form. Man, Stealing from the dead is bad no matter who. It really seems like they should have just dispensed with the whole karma system. Yeah. I never saw one point in the game where karma made a difference, so it was kind of a weird. And that sounds like kind of doesn't matter though, Yeah, I guess. But I only had like one positive karma moment in the entire game, and like ten or twelve negative ones. But it never said like you're a scoundrel. Never. No, Yeah, I just got bad car. I just gave up on it. Now, just steal stuff when that pipe it even goes into anything, or if it's just like just text on the screen, Yeah, it's just like, oh, well we left it in but it doesn't hook into anything in the in the engine. It's just it seems like they did kind of say pretty explicitly, like the REP systems what actually matters? Like, yeah, carm is in there, but REP is what really matter. It's almost like it's just there as a legacy feature for people who expect it, I guess and wants to keep sharing about stuff. Is there any way to bring up the character wheel without talking to a guy? Do you always? Okay? Anyway? It's very much of my the Fallout experience, like it is like if you're walking through the waste Land, you're just making the fall Out you want. Yeah. So, having played fall Out three on the console and now playing fall Out three New Vegas on the or Fallout New Vegas on the PC PC, for me, I don't know. I'm enjoying it. The way to Go for Mere looks better. It looks great. I fired it up for like thirty minutes on and man, yeah it looks it looks so much a game pad. Yeah, using the masses, the vibration and stuff seems to again like the locks doesn't have it doesn't matter? Yeah, does it? Does it have a game pads? Of part of you messed with that. I haven't plugged one any I mean fall Out three did, Yeah, but it's this one isn't games from Windows, so I assume it probably does. There is I think a console command to just unlock whatever you're selected on. So yeah, I haven't tried that one yet. I am afraid I'm gonna break the damn game. Like I'm afraid eventually you get in there and mess around with the insides too much and the whole thing just explodes. But or like I'm gonna I'm gonna do no clipping, get to the top of a hill and have broken it because you were supposed to walk by this guard you know, in the front of here, and you will never trigger. But then you already have a save going. Yeah, And like I walked into this house and like, I mean, it was like when you were clipping through a lot of walls and fall Out three and stuff, you were getting to places you weren't supposed to be or couldn't have gotten, and like the stops streaming in the world properly, okay, sure, and it's like, okay, what what's happened here? Like and also like when I played the game, there was it looked like somebody who hadn't already hacked the damn thing already. Like the first character I walked up to was the woman with the dog eighty or Sally or whatever Sonny, and the damn dog's eyeballs are on the side of its head, like outside of its sockets. And I was like, well, let's go great, So I want to know if you guys took the wild Wasteland perk. I did trait a trade trait? Yeah, I did as well. I didn't realize the difference either until they never showed up again, the traits and the perks. I was like, oh, these perks are all we starting ones are traits and everything else as a perk. Yeah, OK, so the traits of those never get reproduced then, right. The traits have negative effects as well as positive ones, so they're all like, you know, if you want to kind of customize your character in a specific direction, you can. I ended up looking at those and going then the negatives were too bad to want to mess with, so I just took wild Wasteland. Oh, you don't have to take any you don't want to, and just winning with that. And there were a couple of times they denote when those moments happen, like a little fall guy all up here in the in the corner of the screen dot yeah, and that most of the times that happened like there was no corresponding thing. I was like, okay, what is what is? What? Am I supposed to be weird about the only time that anything happened and I was like, oh, okay was when three housewives with rolling pins attacked me after coming out of a building. I'm pretty wild. Yeah, so I could have been running around with a rolling pin and beating people with that, but I was like, at that point, I was encumbered enough already when I string around dumb goofy weapons. So uh yeah, I haven't seen too much of that either. I saw one chair somewhere and it did the sound. It was like a lookout point or something like that with balloons or I don't know. I don't know. I'm enjoying a lot playing playing a bunch of it. But hell is busted. No, I wouldn't say. I wouldn't say supremely busted. It's fucking fall out of here. Pretty. It's weird, you know. There's just like dog's eyeballs on the side of his face, like, what are you gonna do people doing? They're weird walk in their house when they're going to sleep and walk up to them and trigger their get out of bed animation to come talk to me and like, Hi, I just wanted to buy something great and I'll just do your animation go back to bad stuff like that. All just you know that that general kind off the engine is running kind of thing. I can see why they went Steamworks. They had a patch out for the PC version in like twenty four hours. Yeah, after a lunch. I have not seen it three sixty at some point too sure as of this morning, I hadn't Oh you you hadn't taken anything. Well, I don't have the game on three sixty. I saw people asking or saying there's still no patch on the Xbox as of today. All right, then I did not have that, which I was glad about. I know a lot of people had lost, like steam Cloud. Yeah, yeah, they did fix it. I don't know. I'm having a good time. It seems like an urgent thing to get. Absolutely. I feel like Fall that's a great game to be able to customize your experience like with the consoles. Yeah, and in a sense I don't feel like the game is fully out yet on the PC because there's seriously, I mean there's so many like really uh sort of experience enhancing mods on the way, but also just some of the crazy UI enhancements and like you know that mod with like one hundred extra country Western songs is coming and stuff like that. It is totally a game that I feel like lends itself to being beaten to ship, Like the engine just wants to be broken. Like you want gun skills that are way beyond whatever the game was supposed to do. So you're killing dudes with a bb in one hit or something like it just asked for it, Like they're they give you know, they give you the bloody mess perk right there. It's like, now blow the blow this guy up. Just you know, they give you the tool set to make their broken game kind of fun and broken. Yeah, it was frustrating and broken. Yeah, and you know I played again. I played through the other one on the on the console, and it was I had a really good time doing it. But this is this is a different kind of this is a dirty kind of same was appropriate, Yeah, sames appropriate for a game with an amber UI and I'm enjoying it a lot more in my play style too, right because I don't feel like I'm gonna miss anything, Like if I miss anything, I can spawn it in front of me. Like, oh man, I totally miss that whole quest and that gun. It's like I can't go back to that place where that snow globe is here it is right now, the snow globe in front of me, or here's this mini gun right now. Uh So that's fun and all the perks. Just give them to yourself if you if you miss him, does any of its disabled Steam achievements if you start using those those commands? I don't think. So. It didn't warn me at all, and I did get another Steam achievement after I had done my lock picking, so it would only be fair from like the other one. Yeah, keep if you're gonna have it Fall three. Yeah. I think Bethesda has proven that they don't give a fun so it's funny, it's something, it's just something you don't see anymore, like the valves. So yeah, so they also played a costume quest. Let's talk about how far are you in costumes? Oh wow, Okay, I only played a little bit of it. A fun game as well. Yeah, pretty simple. Yeah, not a lot going on, but in terms of gameplay, but good, good art direction, funny dialogue. Yeah, the costumes are funny. It's it's weird they backload the game with like five costumes right away. So at the end of the game, I was just wearing them to see him, like I wasn't you Like you were saying causures for the first time near the end, and it's like you're getting for like one battle and it's like moving on to like next cost them already. So yeah, that part was kind of weird. But I don't know, that's fun scoofy watching the costumes. The battles can get a little tiresome. It that was my only fear. Yeah, in the in that style of RPG, if it's if the battles are not fun, but you're getting like those the battle patches, and those are changing up the battle a little bit. Yeah, but like I don't know, maybe maybe I didn't get too deep into it, but they are. I use the ones that I thought, like increase your damage, like yeah, I'll use that one over a kind of a poison this guy like nah, yeah, I've got the like uh basically at the perry like the counter attack counter that's the best one. I got the counter attack, and I've got they got a free hip, and I got the eggs. I put the eggs on somebody for a bit. You can egg someone to stun them, also do a little bit of damage. I mean, it's pretty like, it's pretty simple as an RPG, it's not. It's cute and it's not mind blowing. Story is kind of funny and good personality. Yeah, and she's two hundred points if you're interested in that kind of thing. Easy rag. Yeah, really first play through, even like the find every costume and all that stuff, you pretty much find every costume by playing it. Yeah. Man, we get achievements back up and running, that'll be great. Yeah yeah, but but even without the achievements the game. Yeah, it's it's hard to not get all the achievements, like you kind of have to try. There's only one we have to jump over the robot has his heelis and you have to like jump over all the ramps and it was the only one I was missing towards the end. But you can go back for all that stuff. Okay, great, I wasn't sure. I'm starting to sweat, Like do I need to go and find all the ramps right now? They open up portals to it's it's like three worlds and kind of just warp between them. Cool. Feel some urgency to play that game before Halloween, like after that, likes, it won't matter it definitely. I felt like I was kind of bummed that wasn't on the East Coast because it's all fall and kind of like leaves on the ground and you know that's a red yelling. Yeah, but seasonal games, I like it. Yeah, here's a game that is appropriate for this man year specifically. They could. I have a strong feeling they could really nail a Christmas game if they wanted to. Yeah, they just pop out a really good, kind of somewhat dark Santa Claus games, Like they could do the next next April, Get your Double Fun Resurrection. I was just doing it in December, my downloadable Christmas game. Like, I feel like Double Fun could totally hit that. Say that for the Eastern game, they should just do all the major Harbor Day All Saints. Yeah, yeah, you just make those part of the Costume Quests series. Costume Quests All Saints, Costume Questions costume quests wearing all Saints Stay costume that look like close I'm Matthew. I mean yeah. But like costume quests, Christmas sweaters yep, 'ch just you have to wear different types of Christmas sweaters and they imbue different amazing pass the great allow you to survive. The great thing about Costume Quest is how psyched the kids are about Halloween. Oh yeah, and their costumes. They believe in it fully, yeah, and and fighting monsters and all the other crazy business that's going on in the story. And you do run up against like adults who are like, oh that's adorable. That's you know, there are monsters, that's that's. Maybe they franchise this whole quest thing. Maybe it makes some kind of puzzle game. It's get your Yule Tide Quest had quests. Uh so, uh yeah, I think that's about it. Maybe a little borderliness, still poking, peaking, peeking on the borderlands. That's cool. That's cool, man, Jeff. You played some DJ Hero too, right, I did? Yeah? I played all of it. I want to. I want to I want to play that game. Watching playing a little bit last week and watching you play some hearing you play something, it's good. It seems good. Yeah, that game I watch, I watch you play. Yeah, and it's the greatest game I ever made, the coolest sh sounds. All the sounds that are out are awesome. What you're doing to make those sounds come out look awesome. Yea. Even the way that you like smack around the controller. Yeah, it can be. It can be a lot of fun. Oh, listen that that's great. You don't want anything to do with actually playing it. I don't know. I think I do. I just I didn't really get into DJ HEROD one, and it seems it seems kind of similar. It's very similar. Yeah, you know, I don't know why. I've kind of tricked out the gameplay a little bit by adding some additional things for you to do. It's the same controller, but you know, it's like hold down the button now instead of just tap it. It's a revolution. But the first time you see it totally, you're like, oh my god, this changes everything. This is all the freestyle sections and stuff, Like the freestyle crossfade sections I think are awesome because it does what a cross fader does. Their freestyle scratch sections are less awesome. It's not really one to one Oh, like rewinding and kind of moving. Yeah, you're not really, It's not what it would sound like if you're really scratching a record. Like it almost seems like they have a sample in mind for how the records should be and you're just kind of moving that back and forth. Yeah, because if it was actually years it would sound really bad. Yeah, exactly, it'd be really bad. There's some basic stuff like if you go backwards with it, it has a rewinding kind of kind of sound, and you know, there's some basic stuff they get right, but it's not like one to one right control over one of the tracks, the pro turn table, Yeah exactly, it's just achieved by taking a turntable from the other one and plugging it into the cross fader. I thought that was a thing. I was really surprised when it was Wait, you don't use you can't use too. No, I totally can't. Uh. I did like the samples that they you can trigger during the song or samples from the song. They are, Yeah, that's cool. They're appropriate to eat and specific to every mix. And sure enough the diplo set is where the air horns are. Yes, very good. Okay, so you can't always have that if you want no, no, it's it's just for that. Those those well, I gotta say something for DC Man, such a design gaff. Not just have all air horn. I want the button because whatever you get to that section, all you do is just hammer the button as fast as you can see. You don't do that anymore because they're actually grading you on how well you do on all those for your style sections have news for them. I am still going to do that. I'll just whatever. I'll just make that noise myself during those sections. Yeah, let's go. I'd say, just don't wait for those sections, just make make that that noise and anytime you feel it's appropriate, just want another button on a turntable that just does that. I think I'll just have a just get an airhorn, a dub box set up, you get a dub siren going, and then you'll just have it at all times, tape it to my DJ hero exactly to just hit the big red button. I feel like, you know, it's it's cool what they're doing, and I actually really do like the music in this game. Yeah, but as time goes on, we as a society to get further and further away from turntables or from scratching specifically, Like there's just not a lot of cutting and cross fading in today's dance music. So it's it's a little weird for like, here's test, here's it's like, no, that's if you star how it works. If if I mean if you actually sit and start thinking about the role of the turntable and vinyl and and all that stuff. Well, you know, vinyl slize this place. I mean people are using it to you know, with in conjunction with laptops, and they're specially coated vinyls, and there's serroutos and all and and and you know, CDDJ turntables and all that crazy shit. But it's just like it's like, in twenty years time, the thing, like the fact that you know, making this weird noise on a record was the basis for an entire genre of music will seem fucking insane. Yeah, and like and now that genre of music has moved beyond that largely. So it's like there's there's less hip hop. I think in this game, it definitely feels like there's less. There's still a good amount, But Grandpa's music was so weird. Now it's it's it's a lot more it's a lot dance here, it's a lot more electronic stuff. It seems like so it's a it's good though it's it's it has Snow's Informer in it. It doesn't get much more hip hop than that. That is a dance smash, dance hit, kance hall, hip hop hip and also that track does not have the mc shan part on it, so it is not hip hop. You get to sing it bad? Yeah, yeah, They've got a vocal section in the game, like you can pick up a mic and actually it'll it'll tell you to sing songs and did it, Brad, did it? It sucks? Yeah, it's straight up that stuff is bad. It's like it was so that you'd said even before I came out, like this doesn't seem like maybe the best idea because I'm repeating, you know, because like the samples, the vocal samples are being cut up as part of the mix. It not like karaoke's like you know how the song goes, and so I am ready to sing this song. It's like, okay, are you ready to see even if even when you if you go and memorize the mixes and get comfortable with the way that the vocals are being cut back and forth and the way the lines are being opped up. Even if you're doing it perfectly, it still sounds like garbage. Like you are not everything to the experience. Yeah you are. You are subtracting from the quality of the music you are hearing, even if you are getting one hundred percent vocals and you're actually being great. So you're actually being graded on this, not like in the first one was just like yeah, doo, a microphone if you want to whatever, you are being graded yeah, yeah, Like I feel like the better thing is just they should have had the microphone just for like a hype man. The first game was you just hook it up and just go into the microphone if you want to. Yah, how how well can you say both adult skate nights. That's right, like that kind of stuff, Like they start freestyle and like breaks for that stuff. Billy, your party room is ready three two one party announcement and they've got they have mega mixes in there, so you know, most of the songs are just like one off mixes, like one song mash with another song, but they also have just sets of songs that are all worked together. So you'll go through like five five mixes, but it blends them all together in a really smooth ways, like six or seven of these in the in the whole game, and and that's all well done and stuff. You're like, oh wow, it's actually like this is how a DJ would actually do a thing at a club, you know, just constant music for those are preset. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you can't just put those together on the flow. I think it's like I want to say, it's like four songs, five songs, some some of them something like that. Yeah, you're playing for a while. It's probably one of three. Most of them are three, but some are four. So but you're still going for a little bit and it's cool ten minutes, Yeah, yeah, maybe a little longer. I would have liked to have seen more of that stuff or even some way and this is probably asking a lot, but if they could have found a way to make every mix in the song blend into every other mix, so if you create any playlist it'll all work together as one long thing, that'd be great. It's ridiculous, that's that's stupid, but understand why that would not be feasible, But man, that'd be cool. The lack of dub horns and the lack of daft punk. There's daft punk not as not as Characters has a little bit of daft punk in there as the character, very very end loved that in the first game, Unlock daft Punk. I don't have to worry about any of these are the characters. Well, when you're playing through the single player mode, you can't even play as any of the license DJs. Oh, you're playing through Empire mode, you have to pick one of the employee DJs, so you can't play as the Rizza, which that's no good. So do you think this series has legs it's going to keep going? I think so. I think I think they'll at least do I think they'll at least have one more of these where it'll be like on the rise. And I feel like if they do a DJ Hero three, you know, and have another year to really think about where they want it to go and remove all the vocal crap and and figure out some kind of pro mode equivalent with a second turn table or some kind of other gameplay thing. Yeah, uh, that'll kind of be the pinnacle. Uh. This this game, this series feels like it's on the rise, whereas most others feel like they're done. Sure there's some innovation still down here. Yeah. Did they dump the guitar stuff? Yeah? Okay, yes as yeah act nice one. Yeah. My fear would be like Activision freaking out and sacrificing DJ Hero somehow for the sake of Guitar Hero. Like it's all one game now, Guitar Hero versus DJA Hero Go. Yeah, something like that. We just made it one game. It's just Hero Hero Hero Hero Hero. You'd play all over all the games on once. There's nore did you hear anymore? And it never stopped making this and they didn't do it. They did on the control you just use the skateboard. Oh yeah, yeah, so I played a bunch of that. What else I saw you saying something about polynomial and three D. Yeah, it's got three D support in't it. Yeah, we saw that during the quick No. I have read blue glasses that I got with a skateboarding magazine and they work. Yeah. I was playing that in three D a little bit over the weekend. Uh. State of the art. It's pretty awesome. It lost like five hours, just can't remember, it was like fifteen minutes. But yeah, it's like splitting headaches. Yeah, like all those particles and all that when they're going crazy and kind of coming right at you and all this stuff. It looked pretty good there for a little bit. It was neat cool. Uh, And I played a bunch of rock band three. Yeah, how's that going for you? That keeps fucking great? I do? I like it. I like it a lot. I think it's the pretty much the stopping stuff, right, you know, this is it civilization, They've done it, like that's yeah. The pro guitar stuff, I think it's really awesome. Keys is a lot of fun. I guess I was a little Yeah. I think the pro stuff answers the fucking question for everyone who's like, why don't you just play a real instrument? And it creates a meaningful way for you to kind of start down that path. Playing playing the keyboard is awesome, uh, And being able to play bass guitar parts with the keyboard controller is also awesome. I was surprised at how quickly I chewed through basically like what they present as the career stuff, because it's not there is a progression to it, right, but like I feel like over a weekend, but just like kind of every everything you're doing feeds into that progression. So it's like, yeah, if you dedicate yourself to playing a bunch of it, you get through it. But it was like a weekend, and I was like, I it was a hard it was a hardcore weekend for sure. But it's an experience I've never had with any other rock band game because the rock band games always at some point just straight up require you to get a bunch of dudes together, right, So it's like I can do you know, I can do a certain amount on my own, just as a you know, a single player billion star. Eventually I'm gonna need to get more dudes together to keep this going. And I yeah, the way that they structure at rock Band three, it's like it all just it all flows. So if I'm doing you know, challenge stuff, if I'm doing gigs like the road show stuff, Yeah, whatever is I'm doing, it's all all feeding towards that. Do they not unlock everything from the start or do you have to unlock song? You unlock clothes and stuff as you complete some of the challenges, so they'll be like, you know, you got ninety percent medium guitar achievements like they have there. They have obviously they have achievements, but there's an in game goal system that might as well be achievements, and some of them do some of them can actually map. Yeah, but they have a lot of those, and each one of those you'll get fans for completing them, and some of them come with with clothing as well. I would just like to let people know there's an achievement in that game for playing a certain number of songs featuring bands with Dave grohling them. They have to be downloaded songs. Yeah, the description does not state that in the retail game. In the retail yeah, So what they did is is the game has twelve hundred and fifty possible achievement points. So it's like they kind of just rolled out their DLC add on stuff right out of the gate and applied it all to these downloadable songs. So it's like there's a thousand points for just getting the game, but then they have these others for like queen songs, for like getting a play twenty downloaded songs, getting a streaking a nine and in this one nine Nails song. I know we talked about this last time, but that series really needs a subscription service at this point. It's some kind of just like take take my ten bucks for the month. I'm gonna have a parties and we just want to play all these songs. But I want to keep it. Yeah, but I feel like they've mastered it. I feel like they've they've figured out how to like marry everybody. Like it's the way that people actually play those games now is the progression, so you don't end up in that situation where it's like, oh, I've topped out as much as I can get on my own. Fuck, I'm never ever going to see the rest of whatever they've made. Not that it's that big of a deal because I can still just play all these songs whenever, but oh well, like now it's all fed right into it. You can see that kind of at your own pace, depending on how rugged you are with it. But it's easier than ever to get a group of people together and play that game. Like all that over shell nonsense totally works. It's it's even well even just the from what I saw a little bit, I saw the kind of jump and jump out change difficulty in the middle of a song and drop out stuff is really really good and really important. Although Guitar Hero has been doing that for a couple of years now, so it's good that they are taking that stuff. But it's it's not a brand new idea. It just seems like I kind of agree with Jeff. It just seems like they I don't know the kitchen sink is in. Oh yeah, I don't know what else? Yeah, else it goes. I don't understand how you make a rock band for after this, like you kind of don't. That would be my I guess you're out of instruments too, like pro what turntables? Oh man, that's would it be? They just said, fuck it, we're just gonna support that thing, not even gonna make our own whatever. Yeah, I just go for it. Maybe they just maybe they start focusing on Dan Central and it's you know, they meet somewhere down the road Dan Central and rock band Mary no Shaker hips like Elvis while you play the guitar. That's a yeah, that's a the rock band. Three hell of a game. When's that out? It's out this week? That's out now? How much can you put could you spend if you want? I was into dollars. I don't know what the official price is even on like the pro guitar, but I know it's one fifty I think, isn't it. It's also not out until I think fifteen. I think that's what we've been told in an unofficial capacity. So I mean eb's listing it, are they okay? I could go look right now? Uh well, I know they are listing it for eleven fifteen. I don't know if that's the actual date or just some kind of place holder, but that's Are they even doing new drums for this or they're just symbols. The promote stuff is the symbols man the keys, the keys, the key, the key tar is just a that's where that's where you're finding the fun. That was where I like when I was when I was kind of like making my run at the career stuff, I was almost exclusively playing the keys because because you know, you're playing songs with keys in a minute's fun to to kind of experience it's this different instrument for the first time, and but it still uses you know, it's the five note track, it's a it's a familiar innered face, but it's crazy because you were doing it with the other hand. So it's it's you know, no different, it's no different than the than you know, the guitar parts where it's like, you know, you've got the five buttons, except that you are using all five of your fingers. Did you go through the tutorial stuff? Yeah, they've got a list is one forty nine Okay, so one fifty for the guitar and then a billion dollars everything else. Man, yeah, I don't think I'm ready, but yeah, the keys stuff feels really good. And just the fact that, okay, you hit a song that doesn't have keys and it just jump over to one of these other instruments and keep going right. Uh. And yeah, just the shifting that that movement from one hand from you know, from the left hand to the to the right hand for the keys is kind of an interesting little bump in then see all the crazy leaderboard stuff they're doing. What do you mean, Like, so they've got like the obvious leaderboards like here's your number of fans and all this stuff. They have leaderboards for a lot of the goals, so they'll be like, uh, the goal in therefore staying overdrive for ninety seconds, so they have a leaderboard in there for how long you've stayed in overdrive and it's all it's online leaderboard and they've got you know, like drum Streak and you know, Basse Cameron pull offs. It is total across all modes, that game is constantly telling like popping up in weird spots of like what rank I am in some in some thing like there are I know, there are a shitload of them, like the track It's it's like a lot of really weird things they're tracking, which I thought was pretty cool. And then the data I've seen seemed that seemed that exotic. But there's a whole menu like you just got a dig It's it's like a few layers down. But there's like twenty different leaderboards for weird shit in that game. I need to find out so and I you know what, at first, I was put off by it, but I have come around on the change and character designs that they've made. Yeah, Like it's weird because like a lot of the same like objects from hair styles and things that you saw from Rock Band and Rock Band two are still in there. They've just kind of I don't know, I feel like grown up the models a little bit. They don't see It's slightly more Beetles e right, and it's just kind of it doesn't seem it's I guess, or it's like the Beatles tech applied to the rock band designed aesthetic or something like the new dashboards. It's it's I mean, it's close. It's almost like that where it's like, okay, just the proportions are slightly different, but the tone and the style hasn't really changed to the point that a lot of the actual clothing items are are identical. Uh. I appreciate the Yeah, the way that they've kind of streamlined the clothing acquisition stuff, clothing store stuff is way better too. Oh man, not having to like jump out to like because you remember this the store or whatever. Well, because it was like when you were searching for stuff to buy, it was like, Okay, I want a shirt, it was like, well you have to. We have it broken out by style, so you go to the to each style section and then go look at the shirts and each one. You can still do that, but then while you're in one of those sections you say, or while you're looking at shirts and say, all right, jumped to this other style and it's just like a button press away. So so they also have a new store as part of this is kind of insidious and a little and a little gross, but everything that's in there is terrible micro chance. Yeah, you can buy T shirts with band logos on them for your rock band guys, not your Xbox guys, for a dollar pop. So it's like, I wanted this Door's T shirt right now. It's all doors and like Jimmie Hendricks spinal tappin like Bob Marley, man, if you want to anyone, yeah, if you want to make your band uncolone, yeah, exactly, like you're gonna wear someone else's T shirt. Come on, it's your choice. Don't wear your own T shirt, don't wear anybody else. A sucker who is willing to pay a dollar for a virtual Bob Marley shirt deserve to have that dollar taken, I guess. So, uh so I need to I need to see what the deal is with the controller stuff, with the Midi stuff, because you know, I have my MIDI controller at home, and yeah, if I can, it's USB. But I don't think that works, right. You need the converter. Yeah, and they sell that already. I don't think that's actually out yet. I think that's coming out with the because I think the real guitar controller requires that thing. Uh yeah, I think I think that stuff still a little confusing, and they haven't really been forthcoming about compatibility with different like electronic drums and and different keyboards. Let up. I think it's just because there are so many different ones out there, it's kind of hard to know. Maybe I'm ready to reop everything. I have self rock Band one drums, and uh, you know, maybe it's time I buy the billion dollar bundle and say you to my name. Definitely, I was playing. I was playing on some rock Band one drums for the first time this weekend in a long time. Like even just compared to the rock Band two guitar hero drums are still the quiett of the bunch. I haven't play anything on the ions. I don't know, but yes, shocking, holy shit between rock Band one and two. How much quiet are the drums got. It's a market improvement. I don't like ka taking rand stories Steven Totelo did about Freeze Pop Current Incarnation tours using one of their one of those keytar controllers. Really yeah, using shows. I just I'm worried about the money I'm gonna have to show out to get back in the game. At this point, you already have one hundred guitars, right, I'm gonna buy that pro guitar you forgure that's one fifty. Like what's the keyboard bundles that's one hundred or with the game, so that's two fifty. And another set of drums with the symbols probably like one another one fifty. I don't know about that much. I don't think it's that much. Yeah, if you, if you, if you're gonna start to actually lay out some cash, just get there. I need like a rock band room at that point. It's it's mostly all been about balancing Taran Desert because that that is the specific matchup. It's not even to the point at the pro levels where people are saying like X faction is too powerful or not powerful enough. It's literally like this matchup, like this faction against this fact's messed up. Right, So PRODS largely not a part of the major changes. They did have some tweaks, but it's ready for TNT. You're ready to do some fighting getting there excellent to try to play some more before then. I playing StarCraft two. There's a night throw now and join us. And I only concerned is that me and Norm both are ProDOS players. Yeah, that's thirty three percent of the game being tapped there for our thing, for our show. But that's okay. I also ended up playing a little bit more SIMS three for the PlayStation three than I anticipated. We got a copy last week. I noticed that you've got a job and maxed out your karma. How did you find that out? I've read about it on the inner really like, like on fucking Twitter and fucking Facebook, like on both services, fucking both see like, I totally feel like I saw that as well, and I immediately thought they should if they're gonna do it. They should make it. So you make a Twitter account in SIMS from your SIM and he tweets that stuff, Like I think that the tweets should just be in Similish. So it just comes out of this fucking nonsense on your account. You're saying it wasn't the SIMS three, but you're saying it wasn't already nonsense. You're dude, should totally have to have a computer, and one of the options should be tweet and like he's like under his account, like tweets about his progress, you know what, and that's how you find out how he's doing. Boy, sure, I'm hungry. I'm willing to sacrifice myself and my social networking just to let people know what's going on. This is what they've done, yep, this is what's in the game. You know, a couple of clicks. It doesn't take much for you to just annoy the shit out of everyone with the dumbest thing from your game. How much of what makes you know the SIMS three, the SIMS three on the PC work on consoles, like they have to do some crazy shit with the interface and controls and stuff, but it's like a lot of it's pretty smart, and it's you know that you look at the Sims in the past on consoles, it's always like, well, we made this game that basically features characters that look like Sims, but this is not right. Yeah, it's always been. This is not identifiable as the Sims, as people who really like the Sims know it. So what kind of coke do you want? What do you want? Get that coke? Coke? You don't want the explicit, Like you don't want because because then you actually would hear the exact same conversations over and over again. Right now, it's like, well, it sounds like I'm hearing the same noises, but it doesn't really matter because it's just noises. But if you heard someone have the same bullshit small talk conversation with someone else whenever they interacted on that level, this is terrible. It was out this week. We should probably talk about Okay, I brought I brought to you? Asked about StarCraft? Is that was my kind of opening up to I'm not ready to dive into it tomorrow? So I want you to go see you seem hesitant. Here's the game, the bargoes up. Let's let's do it. Yeah, let's talk about Fable three. What do you want to know? How is it? Is that game good? It's like, yeah, it's okay. It's a lot of high points and low points. I don't know. It's Fable two dominated so much of this podcast that I'm like starting to feeling its starting to feel like I'm being back, like stared into a corner. Here, tell me about Fable three. Now, Like, what what do you want to know? Uh? Do you get a dog? You start with a dog. Okay, how are the choices? Do you feel like they are weighty? Oh? Man, there's game mechanics and the storyline. Uh, collectively take a sharp left turn towards the end of the game. How how far towards the end of the game? How much you have before I be are left? You might like this last segment of the game game. I don't know. I didn't particularly care for the way it was implemented, saying if I'm an idiot. Oh, I mean it's a matter you like a piece of shit. You might really like this. Do you like Asshole Cake? Yeah, you probably really like. It's one of my favorite magazines. It changes a good bit. I mean my favorite cake cover band. All I'm saying is that either I have to like tell you everything about why that happens, or we talk we only talk about the game leading up to that. You've said that that there are like just design decisions throughout that that lessen the experience for you. You talk about just like, yeah, like what what basic things about it are bad? Even before that stuff happens, Like when it's just a fable game and you're just questing and you're roaming around albeit and all that stuff. They had the issues with the interface and the last game, so instead of like making that interface better, they threw it out the window completely gone. I don't know much. I don't know how much of this stuff is old hat because it's been in preview coverage like I did. They showed like at E three, they showed like the room with the little map table and ye other rooms for seeing stuff like I I And when they were showing off, I was like, okay, like going having a place to go to to like see what your ship's gonna look like, because fresh out of Fable two, it was maddening how much time you've been like, Okay, let's try this piece on back all the way out, wait for it to load up, look at it. Nope, that's not what I want. Go back into the menu, wait for it to load like it was. It was a grueling, fucking prom that aspect of that, like dressing your character up and stuff like that, Like it's tremendously streamlined. Yeah, that little thing is way better with changing like brightness or audio can literally I mean you can literally cycle through the outfits with triggers and they happen instantly, and you can take stuff on and off. But that that little hub like they call it the Sanctuary, is just this bizarre like intermediate step between being in the game world and getting to anything that you want to do, like looking at the map, save menu, saving your game, changing the volume of the audio, like you have to go to like bodily heliport your guy to this little hub and run up to like the panel on the wall that lets you do that stuff. I did see you. You showed me how you're circumventing it by hitting the guy. Was it hitting it? Yeah? So I finally figured out you could at least get the little window that has like it's like just just save game, turn on subtitles, audio and stuff like that by things you would normally get by hitting start right like because when you hit start, you go to the hub, so like you just pop the Xbox Guide and then turn it right off immediately, and that would bring up that little a little kind of tech menu, which was weird. Like like you said, for some of that stuff, like for going to the armory, you can see all your swords on the wall. That's pretty cool, you know, Yeah, changing all your outfits that makes sense, but making you go to that place and run up to the map table and hit the map button to go to the map and then hit the quest log button when you could just map quest log to like down on the dpad, because all it is is a window. It's just a little UI window that pops up over top of the map once you've gotten there, Like, why can't there? I can't. I'm no game designer, but I can't imagine any reason you couldn't just shortcut that. The fact that that there's nothing assigned to the back button on the controller, it's just like maddening. When you told me that, I'm like, okay, that's I was ready to be like, okay, I'm willing to buy into some of Mola news bullshit on on some reasons of why you do this or the effectiveness or of this or that. But it's like, but if you're not even doing anything with the back button, buttons are going to waste on the controller. I went to the man in service of this this weird little hut thing, like how often do you crack open a manual at this point every game? Well, the day you're weird cover to cover just like reading manuals, Like yeah, you look at the control and user license agreement and screw me over. Well, dude, way to put your notes? Okay, fair enough, down did your graft paper? I mean I looked in the manual at the controller diagram to make sure I wasn't missing something, and the back button is just conspicuously sitting there on that diagram with nothing pointing to it. It's so weird that a little bit that seems like the sort of thing that would cause a level of outcry that would lead them to eventually patch that in. I don't know, we'll see. I mean, there's no, there's no The mapping system isn't any better right than fable two. It's like exactly like you'd pull up a map of I remember the map was kind of atrocious and and uh, it's not as functional as it could be. It's okay, do you have a compass point? Are you? Are you on the map at all? Not really know, Like it doesn't give you a good proper frame of reference for like, okay, I am at this building, I need to walk down three houses internal left, Like it's still not that informative. So I feel like I've I've talked to you a fair amount about kind of these mechanical interfacey things, but like the actual crux of this game. Have they thrown out the whole like your impact on the world and the world evolving because of that? Oh not at all? Is that still? Like that's what's part of the thing. I don't want to be that hard on this game because that's that's the bummer. Like underneath all that interface stuff, it's like it's a good Fable game. Yeah, Like it feels like Fable and it plays well. I mean I like to combat. So here here's what Fable two did. Along with Ryan was saying that I think made Fable to stand out and I kind of bigger way than Fable one. Uh. They broke the game up into chunks of time so that you would be able to do actions and then let like ten years pass and come back and rarely kind of see the impact that those choices made over the course of like ten years, like this town is totally gone, or this guy which went from a little village to like that's totally built. Yeah, no, I wouldn't say anything. Well, so they're about three phases of that and Fable two where you're a little kid, yeah, not like adolescent. It's not old man with a couple of minor exceptions. It's nothing that profound at all. I just saw you in Bowerstone Market and I kind of went a little yeah, which is probably good then that that you've reviewed this, because clearly done that is not I don't know. I don't know. I know people who were madly in love with Fable two who've played through this game, and we're pretty disappointed. You've also said the atmosphere seems a little more industrialized. Yeah. They One thing to do really well is is make Albion feel like it's moved on like this is they don't say exactly like maybe forty fifty years after the last game, because you're the offspring of you're you're the you're the younger child of your character from the second game, although you don't import that character. Uh yeah right, No it doesn't. It doesn't directly, but I mean doesn't even look at that stuff at all. I'm actually not sure because I didn't have a Fable two save on my console. Okay, I think they've said that it does not pull anything. I was talking to Scooter over at one up, so you know, you can play male or female character. I played a male character. And it referred to the hero king like the monarch has passed away, like when you start the game that that hero is dead. But all the chatter was like, oh, your father the great King. And then Scooter was saying when in his game it was like the heroin Queen, you know, I like talking about the legendary queen or whatever. But he also played a female character. So I don't know if that came from his choice of character or because he said he had a female Fable two character on his drive. I don't. I don't know, but if it's I mean, I have like three characters on there, so which one would it even pick? Yeah, I don't know. That's You're probably right, I would assume I actually need to go make a female character just and mess around with that. But what were we talking about? Yeah, okay, they built but I mean right, yeah, well yeah, so you uh, you pick your character. You start up like you're you're the younger brother of the king or the younger sister. Yeah, who is the older brother? Logan, he's a Guy's a dick. He is he is running Albion into the ground. He has a real jerk uh reaver from Fable two. If you remember him, Stephen Fry. Yes, character is like the king of industry. Now he's like the head of it's it's a very industrialized nation. It feels very like sort of like mid Victorians colonial. Yeah, yeah, like all the all the soldiers are wearing red coats with like muskets. Yeah, and it's tons of like real industrialized, lots lots of factories and smoke stacks and like Urshan's work, you know, very like a dirty polluted kind of Dickensian in a way. Yeah. Like that's one of the things that really attract Like I found appealing about about Fable two over the first fables, Like the first fables like this is you know, medieval, and then they kind of started getting you know, some some more modern elements into it, into as far as it's like setting and like almost seemed punk but not not explicitly. And so to see them keep evolving that kind of aesthetically further advanced that really smoothly. That's that's that's definitely too. It's credit but yeah, it's just that interface stuff. Like I was willing to give the game a pass on on on those issues, but then I ran into this late game stuff that just I can't wait to get into it. That's such a bad taste in my mouth, like the way I was just deeply disappointed in the way it concluded. But I mean, you feel like the it wasn't telegraphed enough, like the multiple options or that's I d know the problem it's and it's hard to talk about without you knowing what the scenario is. But I mean, you know, there's a huge degree of variability in the way the ending of the game plays out. Yeah, but like I felt like I had a good handle on all the options and like all the things I needed to do to kind of make it happen the way I wanted to, and then all of a sudden, it jumps forward in time at one point, and like you lose the chance to implement some of those things that you were planning to do. Fable two is it was pretty explicit about like when those you should go say goodbye. Yeah, like this needed that badly because it like I I barreled past a point of no return without realizing I was doing it until after the fact, and it auto saves every time you do anything, so there was no way to go back and change anything. The humor. It's hilarious. It's like the good things about the Fable series are in full effect here. Pretty good, okay, far on a guy's face. He throws up, good all the ass cake on a guy and yeah, watch him vomit. Yeah right, I'm married a lady. You got some, you got some had a kid I had This was an Ai lady. Okay, I had a kid with her, and then I co opt with Scooter and married his lady, and then we had a kid. And then he met my other wife or she met my My wives met, Yes, my baby mamas got together and had that interacted. He since he was playing a character, he was able to interact with my other wife. I don't know there was married. There was no catfight option. I understand they did. Yeah, they've improved the co op, but good separate screen on that. Yeah, like you like you bring your full character into the other person's world now split up at least within the same area. So like if you, I think, if you fast traveled to Bowerstone, the other person can't leave Bowerstone, I think, but it's not like within the screen, absolutely not. Yeah, like you can totally run and you can t was one person's camera control too, and the whole thing U And you know, since you're bringing your fully leveled character in, you can you can gift pretty much anything you have to the other guy, which is kind of cool. Is there an achievement for some shared items? There's like fifty like epic or heroic weapons in the world, and like you have one Pokemon style like you, not all of them will show up in your playthrough, so you have to find other players that have the ones that you All right, yeah, how you doing get weapons? Great, Let's get on the let's get on the giant bomb forms. I know, honestly, you've just I don't I don't doubt the stuff being fucked up at the end, but you you've danced danced around it so specifically. It's like, man, now, I like, I really want to play this game just so I can see what the fucked up thing is. The turning point they may have talked about in the preview coverage, I don't know. I didn't, Okay, I haven't ever really kept up with that stuff. I'm bomb that there's not more importing from Fable too, that I have so much money and Fable too, especially if I turned it on at this point. I want that to be in the treasury of this goddamn king. I didn't actually turn it on not too long ago because there was that Geames on demand thing happened and I got it. Yeah, just let's give this works and and yeah, because it does the like, all right, you're back here, let us give you all the money we've been saving. It's like I have all of that exactly why they didn't do that because everybody in that situation where yeah, for too long for everyone not to be just. And I started in a busted state because I started with all of that. Yeah, pub game games money, dirty mind. I had a lot of pub games money too, filth pub games money money money is still not a big deal if you grow horns and and get angelic and all. I played as good as I could. I was trying to be the benevolent glow. You get a halo, you get your chicken. When I finished, No, when I finished the game, I got like an extreme good emote, which you use when you interact with somebody and then you like sprout these sort of like energy angel wings. Second, you don't run around with like horns or a halo or anything like that, but your weapons change, right, your weapons involved a little bit, not a ton as you level them up. Yeah, the appearance starts to look a little more badass, I guess. And do you feel like you could speed run that game if you wanted to do a second play through? Yeah, you could probably do it in six or eight hours if you can. If you did, if you skipped all the side stuff and just get well, I mean there's yeah, I guess, I don't know. There's no achievements that that that reward that really maximum goodiness. And talking to some other people who have finished it, like the ending is don't seem to vary all that much, or at least the way the ending can mainly vary doesn't really have to do with your line. Man. I had like really vastly different play experiences going through Fable too Evil, and yeah, I would believe that, Yeah, a lot more fun on the evil side, Like the quest stuff was a lot faster too, because you're just killing everybody. I don't need this quest. And and talking to some of these people who have finished it, yeah, like sounds like a lot of stuff can vary, but it's just well, we'll have like our real Fable three discussion and like a well know when you guys, when you guys have finish it and we can actually like talk freely about there's DLC comes out. So you get a dog, you get a dog in the game. Yeah, yeah, there's a dog, confirming the dog could fir Well, I'm just wondering if I've seen first DLC will be the Dog Resurrection DLC. So yeah, there is totally a thing about the ending. Yeah, which is what pissed me off so much that I could totally see them ret conning or fixing in a DLC. I mean, it's just I don't think it's a spoiler because I think the reason you put in a dog, as Peter Millon, you said, so you can get emotionally attached and the only way to really got killed that damn dog. Yeah. I knew that was coming in Fable two from like, don't put the dog in the game unless you're gonna kill the dog. The dog all cute and your fun companion, unless there's a reason for that, unless the dog is the villain, which would be even better. That would be just walking on the dog and your wife. No, no, I'm four times to bust the stoners. I'm talking about the shooter MMO that I don't I don't. I don't really care for Real Time World's game. That yeah, that died. It's dead. But apparently the patcher is still patching and apparently information is being disseminated through the patcher. Of course, why wouldn't it be like what like like there may be APB may not die apparently through the patcher, which you know, you don't know who the sources for this the I don't think you're saying that right. Uh. They're saying that the administration period is almost over, so the U, you know, all of their British bankruptcy law or whatever. They're finding buyers for the game, and apparently there are several people who are interested in running the live game at least that's what the game's patcher is saying. Right, If you can't trust that, who can you trust? While we're on While we're on the news of shooter MMOs, the guys who make Global Agenda are making a Tribes shooter MMO. They have the Tribes license. Any anyone here, any I know people get crazy about the tribes you ever know, I played a bunch of I know that they hear those people and they get and they get excited about it. But then and and then I was bought and skiing or just about all I remember. I think I missed that somehow. So one of the most memorable things about Tribes was stolen from Mork and Mindy. Yeah. Great, great Tribes. Great Tribes is like like the first online big thing, right, it was. Tribes in a lot of ways was like the big precursor to the battlefield games. Like I remember when forty two came out and everybody was like, holy shit, this is amazing. I was like, I was right on board. I thought it was amazing. But also it was like, Tribes did this large scale battlefield plus vehicles thing, Like you're ordering up the vehicles out of out of generators. Yeah, flying around with them. It really it was just like the mixture of vehicles on a large map. You know. It wasn't like a tight corridor like quake kind of level. It was I think, or I no, tribes kind of originated. I just know that ever since Tribes came out, every other piece of tribes nude news is met with fury by tribes fans. Tribes fans are never happy with anything announced about tribes and tribes too is coming off. Yeah, starting from tribes too. Everybody hated tribes too. Why are you making tribes too? You thought this did an injustice to the Castylvania franchise, that it deserved to forge new ground. But wasn't the last innovation of Castlevania's simply Symphony of Nights stealing Metroid's gameplay That is a similar situation where they wholesale copy the methods of another franchise. They just didn't well with what they just did good things what they stole. So is the complaint really that Lords of Shadow stole God's of War, God of War's gameplay, or that they did such a shitty job innovating on what they stole. Yeah, I mean my complaint is that I'm tired of games of play like that and don't do a whole lot else. I Mean, the thing is that when when Symphony of the Night did that, there hadn't been a Metroid game in quite a few years. Yeah, so it wasn't like, oh, we're going into this thick in shadow complex worked, right, You're just like, oh, dude, like they haven't made one of these on a like a TV right a long ass time exactly. Whereas these you know, character action third person character action games and of the God of War Breed are plentiful. So it's you know, there's there are a lot more modern comparisons to be made, and I think Castlevania kind of made that shit its own at a certain point, which yeah, yeah, they were the only ones doing it. It has like a white and then a charcoal one, and on the back of the box they actually advertise in a small thing on the corner you can mix and match the turntables to create four unique combinations. I'm surprised they didn't also count up like I'm surprised they did not use the term remix your turn tables remix controllers to how you want to rocket all this ship for these assholes with the yea God damn so much for your marketing wizardry. Last question, do you ever see the DJ Hero franchise planning on allowing you to bring the songs from past games into future titles? I think it's really kind of a bummer that that's there is no title update stuff or the imports stuff and d here. Yeah, they're gonna release an update that'll let the DLC work from DJ Hero one in DJ Hero two, but it sounds like there's no export from the first game. It's a bummer that that feels like it should be standard operating procedure for We've hit that point, like both Guitar Hero and rock Band are pretty pretty great about that. If you if you stick with one of those franchises, if you have bought all of the rock Band games, where you have bought all of the Guitar Hero games and the imports stuff, you will have a whole lot of damn music. And there's still some good mixes from the first game that you know would still be fun to play and and be interesting to compete in with the game's new kind of competitive stuff and leaderboards stuff and and all that happens. Yeah, too bad, Although at the same time, I'm I'm going to chalk that all up to just insane licensing agreements.
