This week: Feeling Inspired Instead of Inadequate

  • No matter how much you do well, if you see someone else doing something that you think is better, it can make you feel inadequate. How do we stop feeling this way?
  • Instead of complaining, search for tools to be more successful at what you are struggling with?
  • The next time you see someone doing something right- say Thank You!
  • When you start to feel inadequate, start thinking of all the things you do successfully every day. Write down a list and pull it out when you are feeling bad.
  • Feel curious and inspired instead of inadequate. Think about which serves your better.
  • Our brain lies to us. Look for evidence, and tell it to be nice to you.
  • You never know what is going on in other people’s lives, so you cannot compare yourself to them. Everyone has their own insecurities.
  • There is room for everyone to succeed! Don’t feel like someone else’s success detracts from your own.
  • Stop comparing yourself to others. Learn to change your reaction when this happens. Comparison is the thief of joy.
  • Give yourself compassion!
