But the game starts tonight, So let's do our NFL predictions we always do. Give me Ryan your super Bowl? Who is gonna make the Super Bowl this year? I think one year you said like Texans and Commanders and that was that was like three. 00:02:49 Speaker 2: Years ago and it was terrible. What is your prediction this year? I'm gonna go. 00:02:55 Speaker 5: My team I think that I'm gonna go with this year is the Detroit Lions. 00:03:00 Speaker 2: That's not a huge surprise. 00:03:01 Speaker 5: I think they're they're they're what they did last year. And plus I really like the uh a'man Saint Brown. 00:03:09 Speaker 2: I think he's great. 00:03:10 Speaker 3: You said that like you were just reading the name for the first time to make sure I said it right. 00:03:14 Speaker 5: So I'm gonna go the Lions over the Uh Chiefs. 00:03:20 Speaker 2: Lions over the Chiefs. 00:03:21 Speaker 3: Well, I can't get too mad at you because I'm taking Chiefs over the Lions. I'm got the You know, at this point, you can't bet against Patrick Mahomes. I mean, like, until Mahomes lose, I'm I'm getting Mahomes like I wasn't Brady until he doesn't make it, I gonna keep taking him. So I'm gonna say, uh, they basically got they might be better than they were last year. Honestly they have they have better players. So I'm gonna take Mahomes over the Lions. What about you, Shannon? 00:03:48 Speaker 1: I like the Chiefs as well. It's hard to pick against them for the NFC. I'm gonna pick my Packers. I think they've got a good. 00:03:55 Speaker 2: That's not a crazy one. Chiefs. Oh, you're taking Packers. 00:03:58 Speaker 1: Take that if I'm gonna take the Packers to the Super Bowls. 00:04:02 Speaker 2: Right, So you're taking Packers over Chiefs. 00:04:04 Speaker 3: That's a little bit of an extension. 00:04:06 Speaker 2: All right, what about you? 00:04:08 Speaker 4: I don't want to be lame, but I've already given this pick on fade this sticking with it. I have the Chiefs like everyone else. I think they have one more ring in them and then the decline will start after this season. Uh And I have Chiefs beating the Eagles, who bounced back after their defense was terrible last year. I think they get back to Tush pushing and they get back into Super Bowl. I don't have Jason Kelce to Tush, but uh, they I think they were better than they were last year. They fixed some things in the secondary, and I think they'll be back. 00:04:34 Speaker 3: Okay, give me a surprise team. What's the surprise team you think kind of comes out of nowhere? Uh and is better than people think. Ryan, like Houston was that team last year. What's what's your team this year? 00:04:47 Speaker 2: I'm gonna say the Falcons? Falcons? Okay, why the Falcons? 00:04:51 Speaker 5: Just because with Joe Sina were going over some teams last night in our Survivor League and I like the Falcon schedule. 00:04:58 Speaker 2: I thought, I want to pick who is the Falcon? It's quarterback Matt Ryan Steve Bartowski. No, do you really know? I do not know. 00:05:07 Speaker 3: I mean it's Kirk Cousins and they drafted a quarterback. Yeah, so I mean Kirk Cousins. You might want to know the quarterback for the team that is, you're going to be your surprise team. My surprise team is not a huge surprise because people like him. But I'm taking my Chicago Bears. I think we're gonna have my man, Caleb Williams. I saw on a thing they asked teams. They ask fans of teams, are you optimistic about your team this season? Number one was the Detroit Lions fan base. Number two was the Chiefs, and then number three was the Bears. Wow, we are more excited than we've ever been. Caleb Williams is good. I think they're gonna be like the three seed or I think we're well, they probably won't win the division, so they'll be the five seed, but they're gonna I think they're gonna win like ten, ten or eleven games. 00:05:55 Speaker 2: I'm taking the Bears. 00:05:57 Speaker 4: I'm gonna say, you know, there's so many teams that are in the conversation this year, it's hard to pick a true sleeper. But I hate saying I think Aaron Rodgers has one more great season in him. I think I think the Jets are actually gonna be good. Their defense is good, Rodgers has weapons. It's unfortunate what happened to him last year. I think he has one last ride and they have a good season. 00:06:16 Speaker 2: All right, what about you, Shanton. 00:06:18 Speaker 1: I wanted to pick the Jets since he picked him, though you know the Bengals finished last place. 00:06:22 Speaker 3: That's not a surprise that you can't take that because that's just because Joe Burrow was hurt. 00:06:26 Speaker 2: You can't pick them. 00:06:27 Speaker 3: Okay, then all right, I'll let you take the Jets. 00:06:31 Speaker 2: You can't take you can't take the second best quarterback in the NFL and say it's a surprise team. 00:06:37 Speaker 4: That's not a I think you have the second best odds in the AFC, third maybe behind the Ravens. 00:06:41 Speaker 3: Yeah, well, all right, so I like all those all of us kind of taking a little bit of of a chance tonight. 00:06:47 Speaker 4: I'm putting together at anytime, touchdown, Parlay, I'm gonna get crazy with my with my boosty boost going little Kelsey, little Henry. Yeah, trying to side on the third. 00:06:55 Speaker 3: We'll talk about we are going to have a thing where you can follow me and Drew. But it's everything's taken a long time to get worked out because there's so much going on right now here at the start of the year. 00:07:05 Speaker 2: So we'll we'll talk more about that later. 00:07:07 Speaker 3: Now, the question was do players get their money in an nil lump sum or do they get it over the course of the year. 00:07:16 Speaker 2: The answer is it depends. 00:07:18 Speaker 3: Sometimes it's a lump sum, sometimes it's the course of the year. Generally speaking, how most players are getting their money is they get a lump sum that is a significant part of the money, and then the last part is paid when the season is over as a way to make sure that they stay to the end of the year. So it's I think it tends to be from what I've heard you here, like forty. 00:07:43 Speaker 2: Twenty percent, forty percent. 00:07:45 Speaker 3: At the end of the year, something like that, And I think that's generally how it is. But the reality is the players can negotiate what they want, but most schools are kind of standing firm and saying you're not getting the last one until the season ends. 00:07:58 Speaker 2: And that's kind of how it is right now. 00:08:00 Speaker 4: The basketball players last year, I know I had monthly, but they all kind of negotiate their own turn. 00:08:04 Speaker 5: There's no standardized contract for this kind of just between the athlete and the business. They can negotiate and write their own contract however they want. 00:08:12 Speaker 3: Most of the players though, are saying an X amount up front, and what you've seen at some schools is they get told that amount and then it's not there and they've left, right, So, I mean, there are but it really is a free for all people. 00:08:25 Speaker 2: And this is why. 00:08:26 Speaker 3: Ultimately Congress is gonna have to get involved because it is a free for all. The players for the most part, have all the leverage because they can just go somewhere else. So it is kind of up in the air. And at every point, Drew, yes, it just I don't. It can't go like this forever. I mean, some of these players are getting outrageous amounts of money, and the people writing the checks, I don't think they're all getting the return they're expecting in some of these investments. Yeah, well we shall see, but it is. But yeah, I think the answer your question, that's how it generally works out. Eight eighty seven. Who's up next, Dan, Dan? Go ahead, Dan, Hey. 00:09:09 Speaker 6: Matt, Look, this is the. 00:09:12 Speaker 7: Best football seventy one. I mean, we've finally got a quarterback, I think, the best quarterback since Tim Cash. Our defensive line, our linebackers the best we've ever had, and our receivers no doubt thats we ever had. Let me ask you this. If there's a weakness, I think it may be on the offensive line. 00:09:41 Speaker 2: I think that's fair. It's it's questionable. 00:09:44 Speaker 7: And the defensive black field. 00:09:48 Speaker 3: Yeah, I like our defensive backfield generally speaking. I appreciate the call, but I think the offensive line is is is the is the weakness? I you know, like I said, I was worried about the fact that our right tack got beat five times on Saturday night, but he was lining up against a guy that has NFL potential. 00:10:08 Speaker 2: And it's a small sample size. 00:10:10 Speaker 3: Right We played a half and five minutes, so I don't want to say it's a disaster. But remember his backup is Courtland Ford and he's out for the game, so he's gonna have to play like Minci is gonna have to play, and he's gonna have to play well. And that's the only thing I can see that is worrisome to me Ryan going into this next game. 00:10:29 Speaker 5: Yeah, if there is a question, it is just kind of the right side of the line. I think the left side of the line played pretty well. They're gonna be solid. That right side. I think they're still trying to get it solidified. 00:10:39 Speaker 4: The safeties have four guys that have played a lot, we all know their names very well, but they still need to be a little better and take the next step forward. I think Brad White even called him out a little bit this week in his post practice interview, saying the safeties need to improve. They've all got experience at this point, they just need to make a jump forward. 00:10:55 Speaker 2: Do you. I mean. 00:10:58 Speaker 3: When you look at this game Saturday, the ten point spread is still insane to me. I mean we talked about it on Fade This. Drew and I did Fade this yesterday and we talked about it just ten points a lot, like it's a lot, and this is an SEC team that has beaten US two years in a row. It feels like our fans believe this is gonna be easy and I just can't get there. 00:11:23 Speaker 2: Am I just not should I get there? 00:11:26 Speaker 4: You should get there? I mean, can always be proven wrong. But their quarterback looked really bad for in his first start last week, and they lucked into the points they got by getting turnovers. So as long as Kentucky doesn't turn it over, I just don't see the sellers the quarterback turn it into something in six days and having a good game on the road in the SEC. As long as Kentucky's offense can get in the mid to high twenties, I don't think South Carolina you get anywhere near that. 00:11:52 Speaker 2: You just think South Carolina cannot score. 00:11:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean Old Dominions not a good team. They're pretty comparable to Southern Miss, and South Carolina needed two key turnovers just to get points. 00:12:03 Speaker 5: So do you think that ten points bread is more based on not Kentucky looking that good but South CANi looking that bad? 00:12:09 Speaker 3: I mean preseason it was like six and a half. So it's changed three and a half points, which is a lot. But I I don't know. Maybe they stink. I mean, maybe they stink. I hope they do because we need this win. 00:12:22 Speaker 4: But they do have that good pass rush and the stars, that freshman that's lined up against men. 00:12:27 Speaker 3: So if you're talking about if you're talking about weakness versus strength, their strength is lining up against our weakness. Their defensive line is their strength, and our offensive line at least the right hand side is our weakness. And you're right, they have a freshman that is clowney reincardinated. They've got a freshman that's gonna be. We're gonna be hearing about him for three years. He's gonna be a top five or ten pick in three years, and he's gonna be lining up against the guy that had all the problems in the first game. And that's the one part I'm gonna be those first few plays. I'm gonna be watching and seeing does he get beat because Mincey was so slow off the ball, Like one time the guy got a off sides, but for the most part he was just getting beat a lot. 00:13:11 Speaker 4: Really, both positions we just named. The line has to have a good game and I think they'll be fine, and the safeties need to be better. Their quarterback didn't seem like you could throw it. He runs a little bit. They've added Rocket Sanders who was at Arkansas, so they're gonna try to run the ball. If Kentucky makes him throw, if it gets a little lead in South Carolina start throwing, it's gonna be a very long night for South Carolina. But they can run the ball and they can rush the passer. 00:13:33 Speaker 3: Eight two eighty seven, We got a couple of lines. Give us a shout. Let me tell you a little bit about court physical therapy. You know, I was told by some folks that if you have vertigo, court physical therapy could help if you considered it. 00:13:47 Speaker 5: Oh, I'm going Wednesday, you are, Yeah, I couldn't get into Wednesday, but yeah, I'm going. 00:13:53 Speaker 2: Wait a minute, today is Thursday. Yeah, next Wednesday. I couldn't get it get into here. 00:13:58 Speaker 3: You're saying they got so much business yues. So yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's how many people are going to court. They can't even get Ryan lemon in. 00:14:06 Speaker 2: Wow, it's court physical therapy. 00:14:08 Speaker 3: If you have pain, no reason being pain, Say you have vertigo, say you're just not able to move as well, you get older, get a fixed go to court physical therapy. Don't need a doctor referral. There's one near you. It's ko RT dot com. We will take a break and be right back here at Kentucky Sports Bar and Grill. 00:14:24 Speaker 2: This is KSR Walter back. 00:14:28 Speaker 3: It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at the Ksbar and Grill. 00:14:32 Speaker 2: Af im nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Come on out. 00:14:34 Speaker 3: Remember the game tonight, get here seven o'clock six thirty something like that. Well, games for today, so you can get there. I mean, honestly, you're a free person. You can get there whenever you want. But but if you uh, you can do the boosty boost one hundred percent profit boost today. It's really good. Let me ask you about the Western Eastern fiasco. 00:14:54 Speaker 2: I love this story. 00:14:55 Speaker 3: So Western's playing the Eastern for the first time since what the eighteen sixties? 00:14:58 Speaker 4: When was the last time they played? Played once in sixteen years? Once in sixteen. 00:15:03 Speaker 3: Years, they renew the rivalry. Eastern is going to Western, that's correct. And I guess Western wanted to have a white out and wear their white home uniforms, but Eastern said, sorry, we're wearing white. And I guess does the road team get to decide. 00:15:23 Speaker 4: Road team wears white unless both teams agree to make a change. 00:15:26 Speaker 3: Road team wears white unless both teams get to choose. So Western comes out and says no, or Eastern comes out and says, no, we're wearing white. 00:15:33 Speaker 2: We're Eastern. Western goes, come on, we want to have a white out. Can we wear white? Eastern says no. 00:15:39 Speaker 3: So Western puts out a statement that's like, well, we already announced the white out. 00:15:44 Speaker 2: You know what. 00:15:45 Speaker 3: Eastern, though, is screwing it up. Do you like the pettiness on the Eastern Western wearing white rivalry. 00:15:54 Speaker 5: You're right, it is so petty, but I'm here for every second of it. 00:15:58 Speaker 2: I love it. 00:15:59 Speaker 5: And if you know the history between these two schools, they hate each other, especially when it comes to football in the years past, hate each other. 00:16:07 Speaker 2: I love it. 00:16:07 Speaker 5: And so as soon as I heard the story, I knew Shannon the dude is this has got ham written of. 00:16:12 Speaker 2: It's such a hell move for Eku. I feel like saying, Hey, I don't care, you're having a white out. Guess what. 00:16:17 Speaker 3: We're still going so ek Us like a twenty point underdog or something in the game. 00:16:21 Speaker 2: Do you like that? Ek Use? Like, you know what, Western? Shut up? 00:16:24 Speaker 3: We're wearing white and you can white out and your fans will be cheering for us. 00:16:28 Speaker 2: Do you like that? Why? 00:16:30 Speaker 1: Yeah? Why does Eastern Kentucky have to play along and change their color of uniform because of what Western Kentucky wants. It's within their right to wear their whites on the road. If they want to do it, let them do it. 00:16:41 Speaker 2: I love it. 00:16:44 Speaker 3: You like the colonels. Probably it's also you versus Billy a little bit here too. 00:16:49 Speaker 1: It is, But I mean, like, how hard, Is it? If you're Western Kentucky to go? You know what, We're not doing a white out. We're gonna do a red out. Everybody wear you're red. It's not that hard, it's not that difficult. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: How you doing so? You're not leaving us? 00:16:59 Speaker 3: Are? 00:17:00 Speaker 2: Okay? I was just making you like it. 00:17:03 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm a Western Kentuckian. I would normally side with the Hilltoppers here, but I love that Eastern is doing this. You know, as we said, it's a long time rivalry that ended because Western jumped up to a new level. They've kind of just left Eastern behind. Now if they're renewing the rivalry this season, Eastern's coming in hot. They're not waiting till Saturday. They're rivalrying already. And you know they wear the whites in the way. Why do they have to change so Western can have even better atmosphere? I agree with what they're doing. Is it? 00:17:30 Speaker 2: We're not having a white out? Are we Saturday? 00:17:33 Speaker 3: I saw a post about it, but it looked to me like somebody, just some kid, just announced it, which I don't really. 00:17:39 Speaker 4: All of our random Twitter accounts try to create events. 00:17:42 Speaker 3: Look, I appreciate the thought from the random Twitter accounts. I like your excitement, I like your movement, but don't announce whiteouts or blackouts or blue outs that are not the outs, because then when they have the actual outs, people will not know that the outs are the actual outs. So like, if you're Kentucky dot football, dot happy, don't announce a white out because people get confused. And then, so as far as I can tell, there's no official you. 00:18:11 Speaker 4: Haven't seen UK announce it white out. 00:18:14 Speaker 3: If UK announces it, then get on board with it. But we can't announce our own white outs. There are sixty five thousand people in that place. It's hard enough to get them to do something when it's official. 00:18:25 Speaker 2: You can't like get. 00:18:26 Speaker 3: Them to do it when it's unofficial, or you will confuse people. So I appreciate the intent, Ryan, but but people need to not do that. 00:18:33 Speaker 5: We're getting better when we're trying to do these things, we are getting We're getting a little better. 00:18:36 Speaker 2: Agree with that we are getting better, getting better. I want to I say that for the fans. 00:18:41 Speaker 3: I kind of used to be a believer that we're not capable of doing that, and we are doing better. So but but let's in order to make it work don't be like today, I decide it's a peppermint out, like, just let them do it. 00:18:56 Speaker 4: We don't want to be Western. We want to match our teams so that our players are playing on Yeah, they'll announce that on Friday. 00:19:03 Speaker 2: Okay, all right, who's up next? 00:19:04 Speaker 4: Cathead? 00:19:05 Speaker 2: Catthead? How are you? Cathead? 00:19:07 Speaker 4: All I got? 00:19:11 Speaker 3: Oh? 00:19:11 Speaker 2: Okay, we don't wait on bluetooth. 00:19:14 Speaker 8: Go ahead, Uh yeah, I've gotta. It's a just a weird question. We're talking about the n I l's and all this conference movement got me thinking the other night, you know, USC traveling all over the country now being in the Big Ten, do you know what it costs for a team to travel? Just say, like Kentucky, you'll. 00:19:35 Speaker 2: Look this up. 00:19:35 Speaker 3: I think, Drew, we were to unfade this you how much did you say col was paying? 00:19:39 Speaker 2: California was paying? In the acc didn't you give it? 00:19:42 Speaker 4: It was there paying? How many miles they were traveling? 00:19:44 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's got it. It's it's insanely expensive, sir. To your question, I mean, so when all goes so like when Kentucky goes on a road football game, they are chartering a plane a commercial airline. I don't know what that costs, but like private planes are like ten thousand dollars, so like a commercial plane, I. 00:20:08 Speaker 2: Can't even imagine what it costs. 00:20:10 Speaker 3: I'm sure you UK gets a deal, so I'm sure like they're not playing paying market value, but it. 00:20:15 Speaker 2: Is still expensive. 00:20:17 Speaker 8: And oh yeah, what about all the equipment. 00:20:19 Speaker 3: Well, it goes on the plane, although there are some some equ truck, so like the plane can't take like all the helmets and all that stuff. So so col for instance, I did see a story about this. When they play a road football game, their equipment trunk truck is leaving like Monday for cow and driving all the way across the country. And they've tried to schedule it where they have two road games in a row, not for the team. Team's gonna fly back, but then the truck will stay there. The truck will stay on the East coast so that it can go to the next one before because otherwise they're just gonna be driving back and forth, sir all year long. 00:20:57 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's crazy. 00:20:57 Speaker 8: That's what got me thinking about it or not. When I saw us in the LSU, I was like, because they're in the Big ten now they gotta be I mean in cal same way, just like you said, Uh, it's got to be ridiculous what they're paying to get these teams back and forth just to be in a certain conference. 00:21:10 Speaker 3: Yeah, I agree. I appreciate the call. I'd be interested. What do you think Let's just take a guess. What do you get costs to charter a jet? Airplay like a like a commercial chip, So. 00:21:19 Speaker 4: Just the flight. I was gonna do the whole number. 00:21:21 Speaker 2: Let's do the gas too. I mean I was. 00:21:24 Speaker 4: Thinking like a trip, like hotels, everything, just playing. 00:21:26 Speaker 2: Put aside the hotels, just the plane, in the in the jet fuel. How much do you think it costs twenty twenty five thousand? It's more than that. I think it's more than that. 00:21:34 Speaker 3: Nap because uh, you know, you just get a small jet and it's ten thousand. 00:21:38 Speaker 4: Yeah, they're taking a lot of people. I will say thirty thousand an hour. 00:21:45 Speaker 2: I'm gonna I think that's you. You gotta do it by the hour. 00:21:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm gonna say, I'm gonna go twenty. I think that's a good guess. Twenty seven thousand an hour? 00:21:53 Speaker 2: What do you think? 00:21:53 Speaker 1: Shit, Uh, probably about I would say a little bit more, maybe thirty five to forty. 00:22:00 Speaker 2: Okay, I don't know that we're gonna get this. 00:22:03 Speaker 4: I'm just probably went a little highest. 00:22:04 Speaker 3: We're just we're just saying numbers. But I mean, I don't know it's gonna be expensive. I'm sure UK and the schools get a deal, but it's not like Mark Pope can use BRT Setzer or Joe Kraft's plane to fly to a recruit, but you can't do that with a commercial airliner. I don't know anybody that owns a commercial jet. So we'll take a break. Bear it Back's KSR. 00:22:30 Speaker 2: TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:22:34 Speaker 1: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:22:38 Speaker 2: Here's Matt Jones. Welcome back Tukey Sports Radio. 00:22:40 Speaker 3: If I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven for a plane big enough to carry the UK football team, charter costs are thirty thousand dollars. 00:22:48 Speaker 2: An hour nail, which is exactly what crew said. 00:22:52 Speaker 4: I thought charter planes a lot. I saw. I found a Yahoo story where Nebraska said they pay an average of one hundred and seventy five thousand in a charter flights. That's that's right there, we were guessing if you're doing back. 00:23:04 Speaker 2: And forth, like you're doing that multiple times a year. 00:23:09 Speaker 3: Now, you know, Now, with the exception of their Kentucky flies charter for their basketball team, most teams do not do that. I mean a lot of the big teams do Power five, but like Morehead State does not fly charter. They fly commercial. I would I think most of the UK's teams that are not basketball or football fly commercial. So when I'm in an airport, I see college teams all the time, of all kinds of sports flying. Yeah, so they're flying. They're flying commercial flights for the most part. So really it's the football And like I said, I mean, Kentucky basketball flies charter. But you know, I remember one of the things with Cal is that UK wanted them to take a bus to Nashville, and Cal was like, we're flying charter, And that was always a you know, do they fly to Knoxville? 00:23:58 Speaker 2: They flew to Oxville. 00:24:00 Speaker 4: Well, no other football team drives. Team drives because they stop at colds and practice. 00:24:06 Speaker 3: The football team drives to Knoxville, and I think the football. 00:24:09 Speaker 2: Team drives to Nashville. 00:24:11 Speaker 3: But the basket it was always a point of contention that Cal was like, we are flying to Nashville, and I think UK was like, come on, man, it's one hundred grand, Like can we can we can we take a bus and they're like and Cal would be like no, I could. 00:24:29 Speaker 4: See Cal flying himself private without the team. 00:24:33 Speaker 2: I mean record that happened many times. 00:24:37 Speaker 3: I mean Missouri, there were there were many situations, including after the NCAA tournament when we lost to Saint Peter's when he flew separately from Indianapolis instead of going with the team after losing in the NCAA tournament. 00:24:53 Speaker 2: I mean, that, unfortunately, was something that happened. 00:24:58 Speaker 5: I mean, it's the only time in the UK called team is ever in a bus is when they go to Louisville and then I think that's the only time that they. 00:25:03 Speaker 3: Actually that's probably the bus. I mean they I know they flew to I mean remember when we went to Indianapolis for the NCAA tournament. They put now the NCAA plays for those fights when you when you go to the NCAA tournament. The NCAA I think does pay the flights of the teams there for the NCAA tournament. 00:25:21 Speaker 2: That's the one part I think that gets paid for it. Who's up next? Kentucky gas Man, Kentucky gas Man, how are you? 00:25:28 Speaker 6: I'm doing great, guys. So un I took your advice on the which game to go to. So me and somebody I've got tickets that for a lot of games Saturday. 00:25:40 Speaker 2: Okay. 00:25:40 Speaker 6: That's something in the past that I've really never done, is take to make a day out of it same time. So so I'm looking, I'm looking. 00:25:51 Speaker 2: For I got your day, you want your name? You want you here? Okay? 00:25:57 Speaker 6: First off, off, one thing, we're definitely done for sure. We want to sark at KSR and come and take in the bar there. 00:26:03 Speaker 3: All right, So you want your day, I'll give you your day. Yeah, we're for Saturday. We're actually opening early. We're opening at ten, So I would say get your day started, get here around ten, spend a couple hours here. Then, since you don't go to games normally, you know, I like people to stay through the pregame show. But if you never go to a game, you ought to go experience a tailgate lot. So get on here. If you get here at ten, you might have to uber to the stadium because the buses don't start till like what one, maybe twelve thirty. So get to the stadium, walk around, go to the cat walk, walk around. You might even you might even get to the end of sec Nation or something like that. Go inside early. That's a mistake. I think people may go inside early. Watch the teams warm up. That's how you get to know the players, especially if you only go to one game. 00:26:51 Speaker 2: I would do that. Then watch the game. 00:26:54 Speaker 3: If you have kids, after the game, go to that little walk I told you where the players come out. Your kids will get to meet the players. Take pictures for kids. It's like their favorite part of the game there when they walk there. Then take the bus, come back here, maybe have dinner at the bar, watch whatever the night game is. Then again, if you're not in Lexington a lot, go out downtown since the game is gonna be over at like eight thirty, At six thirty or seven, I. 00:27:20 Speaker 2: Have to have dinner. You can go downtown. 00:27:21 Speaker 3: Lexington's downtown on a game night, especially if we win, is fun and that's how I would make a day of it. Maybe even at some point between the your morning here at the bar and the game, walk on campus and go to the campus bookstore. I was there two days ago. The selection of stuff they have is crazy. Or you can go out in Nicholsville Road, Kentucky Brandon, they have a ton of stuff too. But that's sir, what I would do if I was coming to a game that I'd only do once a year. 00:27:50 Speaker 6: So do I need to pass the park there when I get to the bar. 00:27:54 Speaker 3: No, you just have to have come in and you have to go to one of these restaurants and eat. If you do that, then you're fine to then go h and leave your car. But we do make sure you can't. We watch, just so you know, we have people watching to make sure you don't just park the car and then get on the bus. 00:28:09 Speaker 2: We don't the restaurant. 00:28:13 Speaker 6: I'm gonna say catch by three touchdowns. 00:28:16 Speaker 2: That would be awesome. Three touchdowns, Ryan, What do you think? 00:28:19 Speaker 5: I think the Kentucky's gonna win three touchings a lot. I think Kentucky's defense is just so good and Southndized offense is kind of struggled, it looks like after their first game. So that's that's where they could hold them down and make maybe make that gap a little wider than it should be. 00:28:32 Speaker 3: When you think about Memphis, So Memphis, Penny lets his whole staff go. Report comes out this morning of multiple n CI NCAA violations, including direct payments from university folks to basketball players. We are one month and a half before the start of practice and Penny has no staff at all. You're never gonna convince me that the entire staff did it except him. Everybody knew except the head except the head coach. 00:29:04 Speaker 2: What do you make of? 00:29:05 Speaker 4: All of it came up because someone wrote an anonymous letter to the INCA snitching on them. 00:29:10 Speaker 3: It seems Penny's that person. Like an anonymous snitching. 00:29:14 Speaker 4: It seems Penny's clearing house to maybe save face and maybe blame everyone else. I don't know, but what a mess to have on your hands, right as you're about to get your team together and start preseason practices here in a few weeks. 00:29:25 Speaker 3: I remember when Penny took that job, it was a little bit like Dion. Everybody said, well, he's revolutionizing the game, he'll get all the players, he'll blah blah blah. 00:29:34 Speaker 4: The membory. 00:29:34 Speaker 3: He brought Larry Brown in to be an assistant coach, and it was, Oh, they're gonna be this, They're gonna be that, not gonna happen. 00:29:41 Speaker 5: Right, Is anybody really shocked that Penny Hardaway got in trouble for skirting the rules a little bit? I don't know how after I read that this morning, I don't know how he They saved his job and I guess they just didn't want to have a complete new coaching staff going into the season on a month and a half and away. 00:29:56 Speaker 2: But how did he survive? It must be that they like have to figure out how to keep going. 00:30:01 Speaker 4: You know the letter and it's just an anonymous letter with the allegations, but it mentions him by name is facilitating a lot of the payments. 00:30:08 Speaker 2: So how did he survive? 00:30:10 Speaker 3: I guess, yeah, we gotta have Yeah, we gotta have someone coach the team. But it is interesting how Penny was Dion before Dion, And I'm kind of the belief. I don't know if Dion's gonna get in trouble for cheating, but I think the Dion experiment is going to flame out too. 00:30:27 Speaker 2: I mean, I think both of those. 00:30:30 Speaker 3: You know, style matters a lot, but substance also matters, right, I mean, take the guy at Notre Dame. 00:30:36 Speaker 2: What's the name of the coach at Notre Dame, Marcus free that's not a flashy guy. 00:30:42 Speaker 3: Although I will tell you every woman i've seen turn on a Notre Dame game. 00:30:46 Speaker 2: Is like that. 00:30:47 Speaker 3: See you're shaking your head over there, Marcus Freeman is like every woman is into Notre Dame. 00:30:55 Speaker 2: You didn't know that. 00:30:56 Speaker 3: Let me give you a challenge, do a chance, because whose Notre Dame plays? We turn on the Notre Dame game in front of your girl and see if she doesn't look at you and say, who's that? I'm just telling you, well, Abby. 00:31:11 Speaker 4: He's a Notre Dame fan. She always watches them. So now I'm gonna have to look closely, like are you watching the football? 00:31:18 Speaker 2: You think she was watching that close when Lou Halks coached. 00:31:22 Speaker 4: I think she grew up as a fan. But I'm still gonna I've got my guard up now. 00:31:26 Speaker 3: I'm just telling you I've seen twice situations where friends of mine's wives have had the Notre Dame game on and go, wait a minute. 00:31:33 Speaker 2: Who's that really? 00:31:35 Speaker 3: I'm just telling you, But what I was gonna say is he was more substance over flash. He's quiet, Yeah, he doesn't say a lot, and they just went in one at a and m Dionce kind of the opposite, and you know, maybe it'll work. But last year he won four games, and we'll see what happens this week. They played Nebraska this week. 00:31:56 Speaker 2: Right, Yeah? 00:31:56 Speaker 4: Were they looking at Charlie Wise that way? Notre Dame? Maybe it's just a position, is really that handsome? 00:32:02 Speaker 2: Interesting? 00:32:02 Speaker 3: So they go from Lou Holtz to Charlie Weiss and then Brian Kelly. You think there was like a rule where the female boosters were like, look, you gotta do better freaking. 00:32:15 Speaker 2: Some hot guy next time. 00:32:17 Speaker 4: We can't. 00:32:19 Speaker 2: We got a little. 00:32:20 Speaker 3: Bit better at some point. Actually, one person writes, Matt, I agree. I'm a female listener. I agree that coach is hot. What do you think women would rank the UK basketball coaches in hotness? 00:32:34 Speaker 2: This is a tough one for us to do. 00:32:38 Speaker 4: For the young Patino first number one? 00:32:41 Speaker 2: Is it young Patino? 00:32:42 Speaker 8: Oh? 00:32:42 Speaker 5: Yes, young Patino had this state on its edge. 00:32:46 Speaker 2: Yes, old Patino still had something. 00:32:49 Speaker 3: I mean Patino never really stopped that, all right, So he's first. 00:32:54 Speaker 2: Who's last? Eight off? 00:32:56 Speaker 4: Eight off? 00:32:59 Speaker 2: Nothing? 00:32:59 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:32:59 Speaker 3: I mean you don't think Adolf was like, you don't think ladies are like eight off could have been just over time? Would what about this ranking? Would you go Patino, col. 00:33:13 Speaker 2: Billy, Tubby, Eddie, Joe, b Adolf. 00:33:20 Speaker 5: That's pretty good. Billy probably thought of himself as number one. 00:33:23 Speaker 2: Or number two. I think women liked Billy. Yeah, I think there was Remember. 00:33:29 Speaker 3: I think there was a there was a Billy moment. There was definitely a Billy moment, and then there was like, Okay. 00:33:35 Speaker 2: Billy, that's enough moments. 00:33:41 Speaker 5: So I don't know if you flip flop yeah Billy and Cal there or would you flip flop? 00:33:47 Speaker 2: And because you got we think of cow at the end, but Cal when he got. 00:33:52 Speaker 4: Here full swag. 00:33:54 Speaker 2: It was a very swaggy Yeah, moro. 00:33:58 Speaker 4: Don't put a social video social media video out. It wasn't ranking the coaches. 00:34:02 Speaker 3: Let's not do co star ranks the hotness of Kentucky basketball coaches. 00:34:06 Speaker 2: But we will do the football coaches after the break. I'm just kidding. 00:34:10 Speaker 3: If you're looking to make your tailgate the talk of the game, no cha. A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text machine seven seven two seven to seven four five two five four one person rights. Matt, you're talking about the basketball coaches. How do you think ladies would rank the KSR crew? Oh, that's I'd be careful saying that I'm last. 00:35:04 Speaker 2: No, I'll go ahead and put that on the table. Wait, man, are you just volunteering last? Absolutely, you're putting yourself behind Billy. Yes, I am, definitely, But Billy poor Billy. Okay, So I actually think this. 00:35:17 Speaker 3: I actually generally speaking, I think if you were to do a poll, I'd say Drew would probably come first in most rankings. 00:35:27 Speaker 4: Because I'm off the market. 00:35:28 Speaker 2: It adds to the peal. 00:35:30 Speaker 3: But I think they're having having seen on the ladies of KSR page and other things. I think there are Drew people. I think there are Shannon people. I think there are Matt people, and I think there are Mario people. 00:35:41 Speaker 2: Mario's swelling there are I think there are no. 00:35:45 Speaker 3: I mean that I think that those four can go in a lot of different rankings. 00:35:50 Speaker 2: I think Billy's a certain fear, and I'm a certain sat and Ryan is a certain yes. 00:35:57 Speaker 4: But Ryan has his people no right. 00:36:04 Speaker 3: First of all, the thing that the reason you would rise up the rankings is because you'll say that like that's why people, that's why people would love you. 00:36:12 Speaker 5: But you're right, there is a swelling contingent of ladies that are all about cute little Mario. 00:36:17 Speaker 3: No, there is the other four would have their packs, and Mario's pack is growing. Shannon has the rocker chick pack, it's Matt has the I like successful men pack, and then Drew has the chiseled beard, so like those it's like it's like a baseball cards, and then and then Ryan is the bubble gum that comes with the baseball cards. 00:36:51 Speaker 4: I think we should put out a calendar. 00:36:52 Speaker 2: We should do a calendar. 00:36:54 Speaker 3: Max Duffy has a pack too, but the Accent Max has the pack no doubt. So like there's a lot of packs, we have a lot of variety. Yes, well, something for everyone, and Ryan is for for all. 00:37:08 Speaker 5: I'm glad you made me the bubble gum. I thought you'd made me the rapper. I think the bubble gum over the rapper. 00:37:14 Speaker 2: Who's up? 00:37:14 Speaker 4: Net Oh? 00:37:15 Speaker 3: First of all, I gotta do this DraftKings game tonight. Remember they have bet five You get two hundred and fifty dollars, So if you haven't signed up yet now through Sunday is that deal promo COKSR. 00:37:27 Speaker 2: It's the best deal they do all year. 00:37:29 Speaker 3: So if you've never signed up, use the COKSR bet five, get two hundred and fifty dollars in bonus bits. It's crazy tonight. Kansas City is a three point favorite against Baltimore. Who you got against the spread? Kansas City and Baltimore drew. 00:37:43 Speaker 4: I'm expecting a great game. I'm gonna take Kansas City just because it's at Arrowhead and the Chiefs are the Chiefs, but I'm expecting it to be very close. 00:37:51 Speaker 3: There's a time the home team won this game every time, but in the last couple of years, the road team has pulled off upsets. I think New England lost once at home. I think the Lines maybe beat Kansas City last year. I could be wrong, but I'm taking Kansas City to cover as well. 00:38:04 Speaker 2: What about you, Yeah, because like Drew said, it's at home. 00:38:07 Speaker 5: Lamar may be the best player on the field, he may be the start to night, but Kennsas City will win the game. 00:38:11 Speaker 2: What about you, Shannon, I'm taking the Ravens and the three taking the. 00:38:14 Speaker 3: Ravens, all right, So Shannon takes the Ravens. Three of us are going to take the Chiefs. And that's your pick of the night from DraftKings. Who's next? 00:38:21 Speaker 1: Grassy Creek? 00:38:22 Speaker 2: Grassy Creek? How are you. 00:38:25 Speaker 9: Boys? I'm doing the best. I appreciate you taking my call. I love you boys. I'm glad Ryan's failing better. And I say this with love. Man, and I could be wrong, but since Europe you've been exercisely with Ryan and Bob. And it's life when folks from the Hills moved ohin and come back to visit. 00:38:42 Speaker 3: You know, first of all, I'm from the Hills. Ryan's not all right. So Ryan's from Indiana. I need you to remember that. 00:38:49 Speaker 2: And Ryan is my brother that I like to give a hard time about. 00:38:54 Speaker 3: But when it comes to uh, but there's nobody who would do more for me and vice versa than Ryan livit. So, I mean, I appreciate you, and I appreciate you listening. 00:39:04 Speaker 2: I love you too. But Ryan and I our relationship. 00:39:09 Speaker 3: When people comment on it, they don't know the stuff that happens behind the scenes with Ryan on a day to day basis. 00:39:17 Speaker 4: All right. 00:39:18 Speaker 9: I appreciate that. 00:39:19 Speaker 3: I trust you all that this is a show. This is a radio show. This is an entertainment show. The version of me and Ryan we are ourselves. But I don't interact with Ryan every day giving him a hard time. This is a radio show, and we've both been through a lot of hard things and we've both been through them together. Same with Drew, same with Shannon, and same with Mario and Billy as is growing. 00:39:44 Speaker 9: That's why we love you boy. 00:39:45 Speaker 2: Thank you very much. I appreciate it. 00:39:47 Speaker 3: I mean, remember how many shows go fifteen years and there's been no personnel changes. 00:39:51 Speaker 2: Good point, Yeah, you know, I. 00:39:53 Speaker 3: Mean, I mean that I was talking about that with KSR the website. Think about how long ksre the websites happened? How many personnel changes? Do you know any media organization that has had less personnel changes than we've had? 00:40:08 Speaker 2: No? And this business people usually change in one or two years. It's turnover. Yeah, so we are good to our people. What were we gonna say? I'm gonna disagree with the color. 00:40:18 Speaker 5: I think European mat has been a good match since you got back from I AM your tour. 00:40:23 Speaker 2: Now, maybe maybe UK didn't agree with you, deal with you yesterdays. Listen, you can do stuff to me, but you can't do stuff to. 00:40:30 Speaker 3: My people, right, so you're staying. So Mario didn't get credentialed. It made me mad, and yes I did get upset because UK, not just UK. Everyone should encourage a twenty four year old young kid. 00:40:45 Speaker 2: That's as eager as he is. 00:40:48 Speaker 3: He should be encouraged for the job, not discouraged like we can't. One of the things I hated when I started was that the other media tried to keep me and Drew from succeeding. And I said, when I'm old, I'm not doing that. I'm going to encourage the younger people. And I AM was just suggesting that everybody else should have the same view. 00:41:07 Speaker 2: And everybody else should also get Shady rays. 00:41:10 Speaker 4: Good transition, great. 00:41:11 Speaker 3: Transition, perfect transition.
