<v Speaker 1>Hey everybody, It's Tuesday, March tenth, twenty twenty six. Welcome
<v Speaker 1>to the Giant BombCast, Episode nine hundred and thirty one.
<v Speaker 1>I am your host, Jano show A Happy Mario Day
<v Speaker 1>to those that celebrate. Joining me is not Jeff Grebb.
<v Speaker 1>He is out on assignment. Co Captain of the ship
<v Speaker 1>is driving his ship perpendicular to me. It is somewhere
<v Speaker 1>geographically around me right now. We hope Jeff Grubb is
<v Speaker 1>having fun. Had a wonderful talk yesterday at GDC. Happy
<v Speaker 1>GDC Week to those of you that also celebrate and attend.
<v Speaker 1>I've had a lovely time so far meeting folks over there.
<v Speaker 1>But we have the most celebrated week. Celebrator. That's right.
<v Speaker 1>He loves a themed week, whether it is fishing, casinos, pinballs. Paea,
<v Speaker 1>the human piea of games Media.
<v Speaker 2>Dan reichert Oh, boy, that's right, because Paea, I'm kind
<v Speaker 2>of running through my brain. That's meat adjacent, fish adjacent.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, jumbalaya adjacent.
<v Speaker 2>Oh okay, all right, I'm about to be in New Orleans,
<v Speaker 2>you know what. Yeah, when I come back, I'm going
<v Speaker 2>to be a human Paea.
<v Speaker 1>There we go, speaking about human forms of everything. He's
<v Speaker 1>barely holding it together because the dark Lord is coursing
<v Speaker 1>through his veins, his electronics, his circuit boards.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff Beckler, Hello, Yeah, I'm far from transformation into a
<v Speaker 3>demon just yet. I feel like I've got that mostly
<v Speaker 3>under control. As long as the sun rises every day,
<v Speaker 3>it will prevent me from full transformation into a devil beast.
<v Speaker 1>What if you go to one of those places where
<v Speaker 1>it's like dark for forty eight hours, oh.
<v Speaker 3>Like your your Alaska's or your Nordic countries, and you're
<v Speaker 3>one of the polls.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, good night country or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, I'm not gonna tempt fate. I'm not gonna try
<v Speaker 1>it out. Do you think you transform if you were
<v Speaker 1>like on a submarine for like three days. That's a
<v Speaker 1>good question.
<v Speaker 3>All these scenarios I've not really run through, and now
<v Speaker 3>I'm kind of worrying about I'm finding myself in one
<v Speaker 3>of these things.
<v Speaker 1>The next thing, you know, I'm like some fucking triple
<v Speaker 1>goat headed beast. No Backler.
<v Speaker 2>If you have a submarine situation, you are if it's
<v Speaker 2>like an abyss, the abyss, you're totally Michael Bean, the
<v Speaker 2>guy who just like cracks and just like loses it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I don't think I could hang out on
<v Speaker 3>a seb Yeah. I think the transformation into some sort
<v Speaker 3>of goat demon is like the furthest for my problems,
<v Speaker 3>because I think the claustrophobia would get.
<v Speaker 1>To me first. Speaking about phobia, everyone else in games
<v Speaker 1>media is scared of him and his powers and the
<v Speaker 1>fact that he has pulled the ripcord. We have the
<v Speaker 1>b boy of games media.
<v Speaker 4>Makmanadi paea is a Spanish rice dish cooked in a
<v Speaker 4>large pan, especially notable for the crispy layer of rice
<v Speaker 4>that's cooked on the bottom, called the soccer rot.
<v Speaker 1>And folks news for you. We are all headed to
<v Speaker 1>Packs East. We're not bringing any payea. That'd be very
<v Speaker 1>hard to cook on the show floor. I think they
<v Speaker 1>would frown upon that. We're going to Pax East. That's right.
<v Speaker 1>We have three panels the main show floor stage as well.
<v Speaker 1>There will be a show floor stage in the show
<v Speaker 1>floor and we will be over there. But gang, that's
<v Speaker 1>not it. That's not it. And also it's not just
<v Speaker 1>us flour plus grub headed to packs. We got Chuck,
<v Speaker 1>we got Sean, we got Will. Will's a real person.
<v Speaker 1>It turns out and we're all gonna go over to
<v Speaker 1>Packs East all together, and we are giving away two
<v Speaker 1>pairs of two tickets to Packs between now and then.
<v Speaker 1>And if you are a Premium subscriber, we're able to
<v Speaker 1>offer you fifteen percent off of your Packs East. Cart
<v Speaker 1>can't be applied if you've already purchased a ticket. The
<v Speaker 1>code will be posted in the behind the scenes Premium
<v Speaker 1>section of the discord today. So gang, if you want
<v Speaker 1>to see us Packs East, we'll be there. Three panels,
<v Speaker 1>that's right, three panels yet to be announced. We don't
<v Speaker 1>quite know when they will be scheduled, but as soon
<v Speaker 1>as we get those deets, we will send them over
<v Speaker 1>to you. And we can't go to stuff like Pax
<v Speaker 1>East if we don't have you supporting us at the
<v Speaker 1>Giant bomb dot com slash Join become a Premium member
<v Speaker 1>if you can. Premium gets you access to ad free podcasts,
<v Speaker 1>a whole bunch of shows. We got nine Lives going
<v Speaker 1>up today Marry Me Tomadacci, the Internet's best dating show.
<v Speaker 1>Last week we saw some developments. One of us became
<v Speaker 1>a child. I'm not gonna spoil who I'm a child?
<v Speaker 1>Oh really?
<v Speaker 5>Yes?
<v Speaker 1>Oh I watch that? Yeah, how did I fair? Did
<v Speaker 1>I do? Okay, not nearly.
<v Speaker 5>As well as that episode where you were there for
<v Speaker 5>Actually not nearly as bad as whoever it was who
<v Speaker 5>got turned into a child.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it could be anyone. I'm a child and.
<v Speaker 1>You know, maybe that person becoming a child may actually
<v Speaker 1>have them lose the game unless we find the adult spray.
<v Speaker 2>And somebody might already be courting Shack and might be
<v Speaker 2>a front runner.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, and it's bad bro. And then maybe both
<v Speaker 1>versions of someone is unfortunately getting courted and befriended by
<v Speaker 1>an evil CEO insane man that crashes cars on the regular.
<v Speaker 2>Oh no, yeah, I know that both jans are in
<v Speaker 2>a throutle.
<v Speaker 1>This isn't the polycue I wanted. All right, boys, I
<v Speaker 1>think that's all the housekeeping.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, I want to talk about this. So I'm next
<v Speaker 2>on Blake Club again.
<v Speaker 5>And did you realize the ripcord For the last six
<v Speaker 5>months I think has been me except that one week
<v Speaker 5>when Jeff had to play not Cole again.
<v Speaker 2>I just won the fight in the bank and I
<v Speaker 2>reached the benefits. It's all above board.
<v Speaker 1>I okay.
<v Speaker 2>So Mike has referred a lot to pulling the rip
<v Speaker 2>chord and doing something uncharacteristically mean for the game, picking
<v Speaker 2>a game that maybe he would have previously thought was
<v Speaker 2>too mean to be my game.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>But then he went through Virtuoso and he needed to
<v Speaker 2>strike back, and he pulled the rip chord with this
<v Speaker 2>tough game, And Mike, I had a fucking dream last
<v Speaker 2>night about you giving me my game, and it was
<v Speaker 2>a Polish Sonic mod for the Super Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>Is that.
<v Speaker 2>The dream was like a real time thing, so it
<v Speaker 2>felt like two hours and at the end of the dream,
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh, I'm done. I made it through
<v Speaker 2>SA worried what the game would be. I'm done. And
<v Speaker 2>then I fucking woke up and I was like, shit,
<v Speaker 2>I haven't anything yet, Mike. If I I have one
<v Speaker 2>guess right now as to what the game is, by
<v Speaker 2>the way it is in the mail, or know it's here,
<v Speaker 2>I had Bonk look at it and she stonefaced, just
<v Speaker 2>no sold the shit out of it. So I have
<v Speaker 2>no idea if I guess correctly with my one guess,
<v Speaker 2>will you confirm it here?
<v Speaker 5>We just thought here to okay that I don't know
<v Speaker 5>if I can confirm it.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I'm going to say what I think my guess
<v Speaker 2>is he fa Okay, I've heard it blightening round length
<v Speaker 2>in terms of the uh you know, long plays and
<v Speaker 2>stuff like that, which we saw what happened with VIRTUALO
<v Speaker 2>so and Grub referred to the game pick as targeted
<v Speaker 2>towards me, which to me means adjacent to something that
<v Speaker 2>I like or something so putting together the little that
<v Speaker 2>I know, I think it is a game that I
<v Speaker 2>rented numerous times as a kid, and it pissed me
<v Speaker 2>off unbelievably and I could never get past the first level.
<v Speaker 2>I'm looking at your face, Mike. Is it Wayne's World.
<v Speaker 1>Time? Oh? My god, Wayne, I don't. I hope it is.
<v Speaker 1>I Love Wayne's.
<v Speaker 6>World jpeg of Mike Myers face and then all the
<v Speaker 6>electric like sub wolfers and stuff sucking up in the
<v Speaker 6>first level and you have no direction of where to go.
<v Speaker 2>I hate that game.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sure I would like learn to love it, because
<v Speaker 3>there's no I've never met a Wayne's World thing.
<v Speaker 1>I hate it. I'll just well blake amazing.
<v Speaker 5>Actually yeah, I will neither confirm nor deny dan.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, Okay, right, OK, fantastic back or did they ever
<v Speaker 1>make a Wayne's World pinball machine?
<v Speaker 3>Ooh, good, fantastic question, my friend Jen. I don't believe
<v Speaker 3>they have. I'm just going through the human Wikipedia pinball
<v Speaker 3>that I am, and I don't think they've done it.
<v Speaker 1>Interesting thought. I'm happy to be ch.
<v Speaker 3>You'd be surprised, you know the way. Look, you know,
<v Speaker 3>if we're onto bigger and better things like Pokemon, you
<v Speaker 3>know what I mean.
<v Speaker 5>Oh well, I'm going to the Mario Day event at
<v Speaker 5>the local brewery after work today and that's where all
<v Speaker 5>the pimball machines are. Is it too early to see
<v Speaker 5>Pokemon out in the wild? Is that not out yet?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm not shipping yet.
<v Speaker 3>I actually think they had to delay it a few
<v Speaker 3>weeks for like licensing approvals, And I don't I don't
<v Speaker 3>claim to have all the insider information. There's stuff I
<v Speaker 3>know that I'm just never gonna say other than that.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, no, if I was you. The ones I'm
<v Speaker 3>looking for in the wild right now are beetlejuice, which
<v Speaker 3>they which is like the hottest commodity in the world,
<v Speaker 3>and like people are they They've sold that shit out
<v Speaker 3>in fifteen seconds and it's like super annoying. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I'm looking for those out in the wild. Now that's
<v Speaker 3>that's the one I want to report.
<v Speaker 5>If I see a beetle, thank you sir.
<v Speaker 1>Actually, wait where are you going? Because I could see
<v Speaker 1>what's that?
<v Speaker 5>It's called bird fish in Columbiana, Ohio, Colombiana.
<v Speaker 3>I'll report back bird fish.
<v Speaker 1>Wordfish, right, Okay, all right.
<v Speaker 5>Mario day.
<v Speaker 1>They have it.
<v Speaker 5>They always have a band there and they're playing Nintendo songs.
<v Speaker 5>I want a gift card less time because they're like,
<v Speaker 5>who does what this song is? And it was Laura's
<v Speaker 5>theme from salin Hill two and all my friends were
<v Speaker 5>really impressed.
<v Speaker 1>I was a hero.
<v Speaker 5>So I'm looking looking forward to big things tonight.
<v Speaker 3>No beetlejuice, but they do have I mean I could say, oh,
<v Speaker 3>they got a solid they got a good line real
<v Speaker 3>solid line up.
<v Speaker 1>They got good stuff.
<v Speaker 5>They got that D and D one, they got the
<v Speaker 5>weird Avatar one, they got ton they got that Jaws one.
<v Speaker 1>I love all sorts of good things.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, I would play a Soro d Rail, play that
<v Speaker 3>new Dunge and dragons play that new King Kong. Our
<v Speaker 3>friends at Stern just swapped out two of my machines.
<v Speaker 3>That's what I have in the house now, that is
<v Speaker 3>what we'll be streaming one of these months. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>play those those are phenomenal.
<v Speaker 1>In the D and D one. Is there like any
<v Speaker 1>die on the Yeah, well there's there's die like you know,
<v Speaker 1>implied in the in the the mechanics of it.
<v Speaker 3>Sure, but there's like a gelatinous cube on the playfield Dragon.
<v Speaker 1>It's awesome.
<v Speaker 2>You get to just pick whatever score you want and
<v Speaker 2>when you get a multi ball and it's just improv
<v Speaker 2>you just choose.
<v Speaker 6>Dan.
<v Speaker 5>You just.
<v Speaker 3>It's super cool because you get you choose your class
<v Speaker 3>and the before you plunge. Uh, It's it's fucking awesome.
<v Speaker 1>Anyway. Yeah, I'm I'm a weirdo about that one, but yeah,
<v Speaker 1>fans play that. I said it at the top of
<v Speaker 1>the show. But it's g DC week here in San Francisco,
<v Speaker 1>and man, it's a good, pretty ass week out here.
<v Speaker 1>The sun is out for once. And despite living here
<v Speaker 1>and working into the industry for a hot second now,
<v Speaker 1>I've never been to GDC. Have y'all been to GDC before?
<v Speaker 2>I went to San Francisco and did not like it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I had to go a lot when I was
<v Speaker 5>at Games Beat, like we games be treated like any three,
<v Speaker 5>like this is a big deal. Which I mean, I
<v Speaker 5>always thought I was a little misguided for us because
<v Speaker 5>there wasn't necessarily a ton of news. There was a
<v Speaker 5>lot of people available, so I get it. We could
<v Speaker 5>do a lot of interviews. And I don't know, I
<v Speaker 5>my thing with what it was was always very busy.
<v Speaker 5>Jeff wasn't going very much because he started having kids
<v Speaker 5>and he uses excuse not to have to go, so
<v Speaker 5>I didn't get to hang out with my buddy anymore.
<v Speaker 5>That what I did like was there there was always
<v Speaker 5>at least one really good like retro like game post
<v Speaker 5>mortem or or Ted talk thing. So I'd always goes like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>that's the people who made NBA Jam are going to
<v Speaker 5>just talk about that for an hour, or you know,
<v Speaker 5>the people who made Miss pac Man or was the
<v Speaker 5>ultimate online one. So those were always super fun.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, So I walked around yesterday and then I also
<v Speaker 1>went to the day day of the DEVS event that
<v Speaker 1>Double find an im e bit put on. Shouts out
<v Speaker 1>to Nicky and I don't know what it was, y'all.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe it's this year in particular, because I'm used to
<v Speaker 1>hearing the vibes of GDC not necessarily being for games
<v Speaker 1>media people, but the vibes were like low key, immaculate,
<v Speaker 1>like people are having a good time. People were happy,
<v Speaker 1>and I think they're all dark.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I was hearing some I was I'm hearing people
<v Speaker 5>are very upset about the early closure of the grass
<v Speaker 5>field this year.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, that's stupid as fuck that I don't understand. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>they early closed the grass field.
<v Speaker 5>There's that like Grassy Park right by GDC, and I
<v Speaker 5>guess they put a fence up around it after two
<v Speaker 5>pm or something like all right, Gabe journals, no more
<v Speaker 5>of this.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, oh like outside Moscone.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah they did that because they figured and
<v Speaker 1>found out that people that didn't buy a ticket to
<v Speaker 1>GDC were congregating and having meetings, so they just put
<v Speaker 1>a gate around. Oh no, stop to that.
<v Speaker 5>But if they like networked or something without paying us, right,
<v Speaker 5>But I.
<v Speaker 1>Will say Greb had a fantastic talk yesterday talking about games, media,
<v Speaker 1>games journalism. Some other friends of the website were there
<v Speaker 1>as well. Fantastic time. Probably gonna go later today, a
<v Speaker 1>bit tomorrow.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Guys, Like I definitely feel like I don't prolong there
<v Speaker 1>because everyone looks like they're working, working, and like actually
<v Speaker 1>networking but you're doing great so far. Yeah, you're working,
<v Speaker 1>you're you're you're networking, you're rubbing those elbows, you're shaking
<v Speaker 1>those kissing those babies, and you're not shacking babies. You're
<v Speaker 1>kissing the babies. If anyone wants me to shake their baby,
<v Speaker 1>I will, I will, I'll do that. I'll check them.
<v Speaker 1>I forgot we should.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna say who it is. I'm changing the
<v Speaker 3>subject just ever so slightly, not gonna say who it is.
<v Speaker 1>But we're bringing a.
<v Speaker 3>Super special guest with us to PACs. I just asked
<v Speaker 3>him if I could say who it is, and they
<v Speaker 3>were like, hold on, and I'm waiting, but don't worry
<v Speaker 3>about it. We have a super special guest.
<v Speaker 7>You're You're never gonna guess you're you're your Your brain
<v Speaker 7>will melt in front of your face before you realize
<v Speaker 7>we were gonna be there.
<v Speaker 1>We purposely tell people don't fantasy book with a website. Listen, listen.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm bringing uh uh, you know, we're bringing some folks. Uh.
<v Speaker 3>And I was talking to my kid and he's like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>is my good dad gonna be there? You just talking
<v Speaker 3>about super eye patch wolf.
<v Speaker 7>He goes it's better, Dad gonna be there.
<v Speaker 1>What did you say?
<v Speaker 3>I said, Number one, that's kind of funny. Number two,
<v Speaker 3>you little kid, that's pretty good. Okay, No, kind of
<v Speaker 3>funny is great?
<v Speaker 1>Villa there.
<v Speaker 5>I recently got to impress an I r L friend
<v Speaker 5>because they're like, oh, have you've seen super iPad tooolf
<v Speaker 5>And I'm like, I have interacted with him on the
<v Speaker 5>shows a couple of times, and very recently he asked
<v Speaker 5>me for advice on it for Disney theme park things,
<v Speaker 5>So yeah, his mind.
<v Speaker 1>Have you not you've met John in person? He was there,
<v Speaker 1>lay not a person, not a person? Where were you?
<v Speaker 3>There's the world?
<v Speaker 5>Right right? Believe it or not?
<v Speaker 1>Right? Right? Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>Okay, speaking of Disney, this is this is this skeet
<v Speaker 5>with the Star Wars rage bait doing fantastic engagement numbers.
<v Speaker 5>You should all be very happy with me.
<v Speaker 1>All right, Well, we're playing the se O game, so
<v Speaker 1>let's we might as well now talk about video games, Dan,
<v Speaker 1>I am the most interested to hear your thoughts on Pokemon.
<v Speaker 1>Oh Copia, Oh shit, that game's good. Yeow yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I think I always thought the variety, like whenever I
<v Speaker 2>look at a Pokemon, I'm not like mad. You know,
<v Speaker 2>it's like I've never been a Pokemon guy. I'm just
<v Speaker 2>not an RPG guy. So it's like that's the core
<v Speaker 2>thing of the Pokemon series, those RPGs. So I don't
<v Speaker 2>touch him. But I like Snap. I like the minigames
<v Speaker 2>in Stadium.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 2>It's like you you wrap Pokemon up in a package
<v Speaker 2>of gameplay that I like, and I'm cool with Pokemon,
<v Speaker 2>and it turns out this is a good one of these.
<v Speaker 2>It's like it's it is definitely pulling all the like
<v Speaker 2>animal crossing levers and things like that, but with the
<v Speaker 2>fun gimmick of just like you can just be this
<v Speaker 2>freaky t one thousand dude that like suddenly your arms
<v Speaker 2>can become like tillers for soil and stuff like that,
<v Speaker 2>and like all these dudes are like cool. Like I
<v Speaker 2>made my little leaf hut and I was talking an
<v Speaker 2>owl hoot hoot. I believe yes, who dude, Yeah, cool dude.
<v Speaker 2>We didn't realize we were standing near my house, my
<v Speaker 2>personal house that I put a literal diddo flag on
<v Speaker 2>top of, and uh, he was like, oh wow, this
<v Speaker 2>is cool, Like is it cool if I live here?
<v Speaker 2>And I was just kind of like and I hit yes,
<v Speaker 2>and then he walked into my house and I was like,
<v Speaker 2>this fucking owl and he just stealed my house and
<v Speaker 2>I walked in there and it's like, no, it's just
<v Speaker 2>like my buddy that like he's like my roommate pet
<v Speaker 2>I guess or something.
<v Speaker 1>And I was like, you know what.
<v Speaker 2>If I had to accidentally have a Pokemon to live
<v Speaker 2>with me, that hoodoot seems like an hour, I dude,
<v Speaker 2>So I don't regret it. Uh charming game, It's just
<v Speaker 2>really charming. It's uh yeah, it's got the animal crossing,
<v Speaker 2>a little bit of Minecraft going on there. I like
<v Speaker 2>how there is a little bit of kind of like
<v Speaker 2>questing him, just like Okay, so I got this stuff
<v Speaker 2>and then now I can go to this caves area
<v Speaker 2>and now I can go here and I'm breaking these
<v Speaker 2>things and causing the water to come down and uh
<v Speaker 2>water all the soil, which half my time in this
<v Speaker 2>game is just watering every fucking square.
<v Speaker 5>Soil and I guess it is. Yeah, And I got.
<v Speaker 2>The grasshopper cutter things now, so I'm going around just
<v Speaker 2>cutting weeds and stuff. That's a good time, man, your dude,
<v Speaker 2>Just like the Datto thing is cool, like you learn
<v Speaker 2>to sport, you can barf water and then like you're
<v Speaker 2>going around, you're just creating this fun little town for everyone.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so I never Mike, come on you. I reacted
<v Speaker 1>bigger than I did this time, Jem he called you
<v Speaker 1>out though, It's fine, I know. So I I never
<v Speaker 1>played too much of Viva Pinata. Is this like reminiscent
<v Speaker 1>of like that flow at all.
<v Speaker 5>It has some of those vibes with like the habitats,
<v Speaker 5>And that's one of my favorite parts of the game,
<v Speaker 5>right is Like you know, sometimes the game would just
<v Speaker 5>tell you, like hey, if you put four grass things together,
<v Speaker 5>it'll track a Pokemon. Sometimes you just stumble crossing, and
<v Speaker 5>sometimes it's very specific like put this railway sign next
<v Speaker 5>to this railway track that will attract a Pokemon, or
<v Speaker 5>like you know, like oh you put the grass really
<v Speaker 5>high up or put next to the sea by a
<v Speaker 5>fishing pole. So all that stuff is is a ton
<v Speaker 5>of fun, just these different weird combinations that could attract
<v Speaker 5>the problem. Yeah, that's the Viva Pinata gameplay looks. You
<v Speaker 5>get to do specific things to attract specific pionatas.
<v Speaker 2>I like how it's like weird too, Like even just
<v Speaker 2>the little things you gotta do, Like I'm just headbutting
<v Speaker 2>trees like crazy, you know, and then things are breaking
<v Speaker 2>into a ton of logs. I'm just like inhaling millions
<v Speaker 2>of lumbers and the kind of weird and fun.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's just really smart and like the loop is
<v Speaker 5>really and I love how the loop is kind of
<v Speaker 5>before you even think that what you're really doing is
<v Speaker 5>organizing the town and making it look better. By the
<v Speaker 5>time you kind of just do the mainline quest stuff,
<v Speaker 5>you're sort of there, and then you can see how
<v Speaker 5>if you wanted to get off the main quest and
<v Speaker 5>just really develop the town like crazy and build the
<v Speaker 5>roads and the buildings, you can do that. And I'm
<v Speaker 5>in like the second area now, so I see again
<v Speaker 5>like the bigger loop of oh so now this new
<v Speaker 5>place and it looks even trashing in the last one,
<v Speaker 5>and just again by kind of eating quests sorry to
<v Speaker 5>come together and I can see, oh, I could like
<v Speaker 5>really develop this place and make minds and you can
<v Speaker 5>kind of make an irrigation system for crops instead of
<v Speaker 5>having to water them. So it's like playing through the
<v Speaker 5>quest this one. But I can also see how beyond
<v Speaker 5>that there's gonna be so much game here for the
<v Speaker 5>secos who really wanted to develop. I have a giant
<v Speaker 5>Pokemon map.
<v Speaker 1>Mister Backler, please, hi, just could just try something real quick, like,
<v Speaker 1>just pretend for a second, really pretend that I don't
<v Speaker 1>know anything about this game. Okay, so I need to
<v Speaker 1>know what it is, A and B. I need to
<v Speaker 1>know if Herdier is in it. I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>Herdier is in it. I never gets any fucking love
<v Speaker 1>because there's so many It's a Pokemon. It's like one
<v Speaker 1>of the dogs.
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna look it up Pokemon.
<v Speaker 2>It's a Marty like. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, basically, mister Backlar, if you take Animal Crossing, Minecraft
<v Speaker 1>Dragon Quest Builders, because it's the same developers that made
<v Speaker 1>that mush together and uh with Pokemon inside of it
<v Speaker 1>and around it, and you play as a Ditto, and
<v Speaker 1>a Ditto is the amorphous problem. Yeah, he's just like
<v Speaker 1>silly Puddy. Yes, yeah, And Ditto transforms into their uh,
<v Speaker 1>their original trainer, and then Ditto is pretty much fixing
<v Speaker 1>up and solving the town and attracting all the Pokemon back.
<v Speaker 1>It's very charming the whole time. Now do you think
<v Speaker 1>do you think I would like it.
<v Speaker 2>Do you like Animal Crossing?
<v Speaker 1>Did you Yeah? Did you like starting about? No, that's
<v Speaker 1>that's stupid. Did you like Disney started Bell?
<v Speaker 3>Like?
<v Speaker 1>I think Animal Crossing is just not for me, okay.
<v Speaker 3>Because this is pretty animal cross fun.
<v Speaker 5>It's a bit more to do in this, like like
<v Speaker 5>Animal Crossing would have the hole you're done for today
<v Speaker 5>element to it, especially early on in this game, there's
<v Speaker 5>there's none of that. You just kind of keep going
<v Speaker 5>and keep going and the loop is always satisfying. So
<v Speaker 5>I mean, I like it. I like the new Animal
<v Speaker 5>Crossing a ton sure, but I definitely think this is better.
<v Speaker 2>There is there's like a lot of personality and like
<v Speaker 2>even the little things like oh, we got to rebuild
<v Speaker 2>this Pokemon center and it's not just adding like oh
<v Speaker 2>zero out of three of this thing. It's like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>you got to get all the resources and stuff. But
<v Speaker 2>then there's this like rallying the Pokemon where it's like
<v Speaker 2>we need you. You're the builder, and you're like to
<v Speaker 2>save the community center.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 2>It's like getting all these dudes come up and build
<v Speaker 2>this thing together.
<v Speaker 1>I love that they're constantly punching at the building. Yes
<v Speaker 1>all the time.
<v Speaker 5>Well, it just like you know, you're not just attracting
<v Speaker 5>the pokemon, that's it. You've got to make them more comfortable.
<v Speaker 5>And some of them like can do things to help you,
<v Speaker 5>like some can make turn your logs into timber, some
<v Speaker 5>can make your plants grow faster, some can start fires
<v Speaker 5>where you need them to things like that. So I
<v Speaker 5>don't know, it's just like all feels very exciting. It's
<v Speaker 5>not like a glacier pace like you maybe expect with
<v Speaker 5>these things. Like yeah, there's a little bit of talking
<v Speaker 5>and stuff, but it's not upsetting or it gets in
<v Speaker 5>the thing.
<v Speaker 1>Like the talking and like the writing in this game.
<v Speaker 1>I like that it's been picking up a lot of
<v Speaker 1>heat because it is actually kind of funny. Just like
<v Speaker 1>the pokemon have distinct personalities. I swear one of them
<v Speaker 1>is written like they have a long Island accent. And
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember which specific pokemon it was Charlion, it
<v Speaker 1>could be Charmeilan gives off long Island vibes, right, but
<v Speaker 1>it's just very cute. It's clever with the writing, and
<v Speaker 1>like it's just very earnest in how it's like pushing
<v Speaker 1>me along to like keep engaging with it, because otherwise
<v Speaker 1>I think I would just be buttoning through the story
<v Speaker 1>like any dialogue and animal crossing, I don't care, right.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, Like that is part of the personality
<v Speaker 2>for me, Like that's part of what I like about
<v Speaker 2>animal crossing is just like the weird little personalities like
<v Speaker 2>that's my penguin neighbor, you know. Sure, but like this
<v Speaker 2>is like a leisurely paced for sure, but it is
<v Speaker 2>not a thing. There's no real time clock, so it's
<v Speaker 2>not like waiting forever, waiting three days for something to happen.
<v Speaker 2>After you plant a tree, it's like, oh, okay, if
<v Speaker 2>you put four flower beds next to the water on
<v Speaker 2>the beach, that will be a habitat that a Pokemon
<v Speaker 2>of some sort might show up, and like next time
<v Speaker 2>you walk over there, it's gonna be like, whoa, who's
<v Speaker 2>that in there? You know. So it's not waiting forever.
<v Speaker 2>You kind of get in.
<v Speaker 5>Like the biggest time gate has been like when you're
<v Speaker 5>rebuilding say the poke Pokemon, it's like, that'll be ready
<v Speaker 5>the next day. I'm like, okay, well, there's plenty of
<v Speaker 5>things to do in the meantime.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, some of like the bigger buildings that you wind
<v Speaker 1>up putting together outside of the Pokemon centers, they do
<v Speaker 1>take a I wouldn't say significant amount of time. I
<v Speaker 1>think at most the day, I've seen people's creations that
<v Speaker 1>have spent an obscene amount of time in the game already,
<v Speaker 1>and I this is the part that irks irks me.
<v Speaker 1>But this is more of a personal thing where Wow,
<v Speaker 1>I have no sense of interior design, and you have
<v Speaker 1>made such a lovely, gorgeous home for your hookem on
<v Speaker 1>and I just look at mine and everything, like the
<v Speaker 1>land is just haphazardly shaped, and there's a dirt tunnel
<v Speaker 1>that I haven't finished.
<v Speaker 2>Because like anytime you see like someone in Tears of
<v Speaker 2>the Kingdom made like a working factory or something, and
<v Speaker 2>it's like, man, I'm just trying to get something to
<v Speaker 2>like launch this time and it's not working.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well you.
<v Speaker 5>We're using like that one thing that's like a wing
<v Speaker 5>and a lever in one fand that everybody used.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, here we go.
<v Speaker 5>It's just a satisfying game and it seems like it's
<v Speaker 5>popping off in a huge way. Probably gonna be one
<v Speaker 5>of the big games of the year. Honestly.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, the Dynasty Warriors team is there, like a mega force.
<v Speaker 5>The dragon Quest Builders I know, but the dragon Quest
<v Speaker 5>Builders team, I'm not sure what else they've done. I
<v Speaker 5>can go well right now, which boy, I've always meant
<v Speaker 5>to play those games as I heard, They're really good,
<v Speaker 5>and I like the dragon Quest franchise quite a bit.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of people have been saying that this is
<v Speaker 1>pretty much dragon Quest Builders three in their eyes.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, like they I did like those at yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>yeah that these people did work on Dynasty Words.
<v Speaker 5>That's incredible. That's that's crazy. Gosh, that's really funny.
<v Speaker 1>H I think we should definitely check out some more
<v Speaker 1>multiplayer stuff and just investigate more stuff with that.
<v Speaker 5>I'd like to Yes, yeah, I haven't done any of
<v Speaker 5>the multiplayer stuff either, and I mean, like, I know
<v Speaker 5>we did that stream then I wasn't in it. I
<v Speaker 5>guess I should go back and look. But I'm curious
<v Speaker 5>what that is. I assume you just go to one
<v Speaker 5>person's island and everyone else is kind of just running
<v Speaker 5>around helping. So certain ways, I think you can do that.
<v Speaker 5>But the way that Grubs set it up is that
<v Speaker 5>you went to like a dream island, so it is
<v Speaker 5>supposed to supposedly an island that is supposed to be
<v Speaker 5>on all the time.
<v Speaker 2>The cloud island thing.
<v Speaker 5>The cloud, Yes, that was the one thing I kind
<v Speaker 5>of like. I did it one time the tutorial, and
<v Speaker 5>I know I can go once a day, but I'm like,
<v Speaker 5>it's not really what I want to do right now.
<v Speaker 5>Let's just go to some strange empty island and no.
<v Speaker 1>But then we can build it together though.
<v Speaker 5>Oh yeah yeah yeah it's like a Minecraft server, right, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>that's for the multiplayer part. Sure, like in the single
<v Speaker 5>player games, I go there and collect some resources and
<v Speaker 5>come back. Yeah, I don't want to do that.
<v Speaker 2>It really is one of those ideal podcast games or
<v Speaker 2>if you got something on the background you're half paying
<v Speaker 2>attention to. It's just like, yeah, it's not going to
<v Speaker 2>demand not a lot of cut scenes or voice acting
<v Speaker 2>or anything.
<v Speaker 1>No, no, no, no, no voice acting at all. But
<v Speaker 1>I hope that uh, you know, the Pokemon Company continues
<v Speaker 1>to experiment with Pokemon and give it to different devs
<v Speaker 1>because this is great and I Mikey, I think we
<v Speaker 1>talked about it yesterday on game Miss Mornings. But like
<v Speaker 1>this game is actually selling out right.
<v Speaker 5>Physical costs, selling out, copies, selling out.
<v Speaker 2>That reminds me did any of you hear over the weekend,
<v Speaker 2>what happened with Kayla buying this game?
<v Speaker 1>I heard about it. I hear about I.
<v Speaker 2>Was ready to go to war over this if justice
<v Speaker 2>was not served. Oh no, you fucking She likes getting
<v Speaker 2>physical games with like modern games and stuff. I think
<v Speaker 2>usually she trades them back and stuff like that. It's
<v Speaker 2>it makes sense if you're doing that. She goes to
<v Speaker 2>Game Stop, everyone's favorite corporation, and she went to go
<v Speaker 2>buy poke Topia, poke Pocopia, Poketo Pocopia, Pokepia. This motherfucker
<v Speaker 2>at the register tells her.
<v Speaker 1>Like, whoa, how do you know he fox his mother.
<v Speaker 2>Wait till you hear the story and you'll know. He says, okay,
<v Speaker 2>so yeah, if you're buying this, you can't play it.
<v Speaker 2>He pointed to the thing that said game key card
<v Speaker 2>at the bottom, you know, because it's one of those
<v Speaker 2>game key card things, and he said, oh, yeah, you
<v Speaker 2>can't play this unless you buy this. And he showed
<v Speaker 2>her this fifty dollars SD card and said that, like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you can't play without this, and Kayler's like, okay, I
<v Speaker 2>didn't know that, and like she bought it, and then
<v Speaker 2>she told that story like she was on stream and
<v Speaker 2>she's like, I didn't know I needed like a micro
<v Speaker 2>chippy thing to play this game. And everyone in chat,
<v Speaker 2>including me, was like, what did they tell you? And
<v Speaker 2>she's like something about GameCube and I was like, something's
<v Speaker 2>off here, what's going on out We sussed out it
<v Speaker 2>was game key card, but yeah, this guy said that, like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you need this to play it. So she went back
<v Speaker 2>the next day and the guy, the manager, was like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>you can't return this was opened. And I told her,
<v Speaker 2>I was you make sure you tell them exactly what
<v Speaker 2>you told Chad about how they told you you needed
<v Speaker 2>it to play it, And I guess the guy gave
<v Speaker 2>her a refund, and then she left game Stop. She
<v Speaker 2>saw the original guy that lied to were sitting in
<v Speaker 2>his car eating ice cream, and she specifically just drove
<v Speaker 2>in front of the guy's car to flip him off
<v Speaker 2>in the speed away.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, so her energy I think is cool. It's fine.
<v Speaker 3>I can never I can't blame people who work at
<v Speaker 3>game for line people here, so it's not so they
<v Speaker 3>are like basically held against their will to they are
<v Speaker 3>incentivized like it is.
<v Speaker 1>It is the fault of the corporation. Well, they are pushing.
<v Speaker 2>I worked at the story level. I worked at best Buy,
<v Speaker 2>and they pushed you need to like add on accessories
<v Speaker 2>and periferles and stuff. But you can also just be
<v Speaker 2>a shit bag and like.
<v Speaker 3>Totally totally again, like I have sympathy for people who
<v Speaker 3>are put into a situation that is like unmovable.
<v Speaker 1>It sucks. Should they have lot?
<v Speaker 3>I like that, No, of course, not that deserves a
<v Speaker 3>couple of middle fingers, for sure. I just think it's
<v Speaker 3>crazy that like they're put into this situation of like, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you you you're employed, and you have to be shitty
<v Speaker 3>to be to work here, don't. I mean, like there's
<v Speaker 3>I understand, but these guys get like quotas they have
<v Speaker 3>to hit, Like I get it.
<v Speaker 1>It sucks.
<v Speaker 3>I yeah, I just obviously it's a it's a byproduct
<v Speaker 3>of the corporation and not necessarily like I don't believe
<v Speaker 3>this is an inherently evil person who's just like hmm.
<v Speaker 5>Well, it's just again, it starts off like, oh, you
<v Speaker 5>gotta like sell a lot of accessories, and then I
<v Speaker 5>guess panic sets in.
<v Speaker 3>But and then it's like, oh then I get fired
<v Speaker 3>if I don't all right, well I'm saying.
<v Speaker 1>The whole like gonna lie about Like I'm not defending line.
<v Speaker 2>That's a lot where it's like when I worked there,
<v Speaker 2>it was all about the fun club thing or whatever
<v Speaker 2>turn into game stop pro players player card whatever, and
<v Speaker 2>like there are ways where it's like, Okay, this person's
<v Speaker 2>trading in a shitload of games and buying a bunch
<v Speaker 2>of US games and so it is an easy sell
<v Speaker 2>and and I would feel good about it, being like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>if you're doing a bunch of use games and stuff,
<v Speaker 2>if you get this card, it's gonna pay for itself
<v Speaker 2>next time you do a trade end of this value
<v Speaker 2>or whatever. So like go and get this, you're gonna
<v Speaker 2>get the free game in form of subscription. With it,
<v Speaker 2>you got a year of getting a discount on the
<v Speaker 2>use games. Like there are use cases where it's like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>this serves both purposes. They are getting something that pays
<v Speaker 2>for itself, and I'm also my stats look better for
<v Speaker 2>my job or whatever. But like it's the outright lining
<v Speaker 2>thing that I'm just like that.
<v Speaker 5>I'm not discounting the possibility that the person is also
<v Speaker 5>maybe just very stupid. It's it's some weird twisted way
<v Speaker 5>that she needed she saw this game in his own
<v Speaker 5>mine was like, that's an SD card.
<v Speaker 1>I know what that means.
<v Speaker 3>And like, you know, don't they get like they get
<v Speaker 3>like you know, the sort of like talking points and
<v Speaker 3>the and the kid and like so you're implying that
<v Speaker 3>like they they were sent some literature that was like this.
<v Speaker 1>I don't say.
<v Speaker 5>I don't think this person can read.
<v Speaker 3>I don't think Jean. I think, yeah, it sucks. It
<v Speaker 3>sucks ass, But like you know, I get it. You
<v Speaker 3>can be mad at the people. I'm mad at the
<v Speaker 3>corporation having such.
<v Speaker 2>An insta all timersty company for sure.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I just you know, sometimes you don't got to
<v Speaker 1>tell the company line, especially when you're abused at the
<v Speaker 1>retail level. Hey look we are you know, we are
<v Speaker 1>worship McCall. We're in a good We're.
<v Speaker 3>In a different spot, right So maybe again.
<v Speaker 1>Launch Look continues to drive us all apart. No, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>here's here's my pitch, and I'm gonna put it here.
<v Speaker 1>I put it on our discord. I think it's hilarious
<v Speaker 1>if we call them long looks. I like that better.
<v Speaker 1>Jan that's got a better Mouthfield long Look, long Look,
<v Speaker 1>Launch Look. I can't get into what I can't you're lying.
<v Speaker 1>You're just lying. Now, thank you for your doing a
<v Speaker 1>thing speaking about uh lying, Mike Manatti, you have been
<v Speaker 1>exploring lying in Lies of pe the deal, Yeah, the
<v Speaker 1>whole thing.
<v Speaker 5>I went through, finished the base game at a great time.
<v Speaker 5>Then did the DLC, which came out just last year,
<v Speaker 5>and that is some beefy DLC. I mean they could have.
<v Speaker 1>Called that Lies of p two.
<v Speaker 5>It's like really it's like ten hours of content, right,
<v Speaker 5>like longer than a traditional from Soft deal. So except
<v Speaker 5>it maybe not urchree, right, that was pretty big, so
<v Speaker 5>kind of like kind of on those levels of whoa,
<v Speaker 5>this is like a whole separate thing and it's not
<v Speaker 5>trick at all. Tons of new bosses that you're playing
<v Speaker 5>in there. I can't remember exactly, but like six seven God,
<v Speaker 5>I did not mean to do that, I swear to God.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah it's okay, nobody cares anymore. Good, good, good,
<v Speaker 1>thank god.
<v Speaker 5>But boy, I had a great time with Lies of
<v Speaker 5>Pea because it really is like the greatest hits of
<v Speaker 5>the stuff from the from games that you want in
<v Speaker 5>terms of that kind of like grim atmosphere, uh you know,
<v Speaker 5>the but you have the mechanics like the dodging and
<v Speaker 5>the character building from like say Bloodborn or a Dark Souls.
<v Speaker 5>But then you also got the parrying U do you
<v Speaker 5>make in a secero? And I love the pairying.
<v Speaker 1>Is there any like like continuation of the story at all, Mike,
<v Speaker 1>or is it just like a kind of like branching
<v Speaker 1>off to like a different path.
<v Speaker 5>It's believe it, there's time travelsing in again. So it's
<v Speaker 5>actually kind of a prequel sort of thing here, which
<v Speaker 5>is kind of neat because you sort of see some
<v Speaker 5>characters that you knew a little bit during the main game,
<v Speaker 5>with some characters who are kind of like already like
<v Speaker 5>past their prime or done or like very much in
<v Speaker 5>their prime. And our big threats here and like a
<v Speaker 5>lot of these games, they kind of are like, well,
<v Speaker 5>you beat the basic probably, so these are going to
<v Speaker 5>be the really hard bosses and that is a ton
<v Speaker 5>of fun. Last boss especially is basically a serial killer,
<v Speaker 5>crazy puppet guy who like first is just coming at
<v Speaker 5>you with weird like knives and trying to gut you.
<v Speaker 5>And then the second phase becomes like Angel Satan, which
<v Speaker 5>is you know, his is the thing, so God just
<v Speaker 5>but boy, like you know, It's very much like in
<v Speaker 5>a sec row field of like, oh, I am learning
<v Speaker 5>these patterns, and at first it seems impossible. These these
<v Speaker 5>these combos are like nine attacks a long. How can
<v Speaker 5>I possibly ever get by this? And then suddenly it
<v Speaker 5>just clicks and you have that run and it feels
<v Speaker 5>so freaking good.
<v Speaker 2>I was a little intrigued because I had not seen
<v Speaker 2>the game in motion really until I saw you streaming
<v Speaker 2>a bit over the weekend, and it's like you're flying
<v Speaker 2>around with this like rocket thing, and then like some
<v Speaker 2>of the enemies I love, just like the like weird
<v Speaker 2>robot guards, but not like cool future robots, like weird
<v Speaker 2>old clanking and stuff like. Yeah, I kind of like
<v Speaker 2>the look of this game. So that's a little curious.
<v Speaker 1>That's the thing.
<v Speaker 5>It's like, I do like the whole kind of maybe
<v Speaker 5>steampunk's not the word, but it's kind of this Victorian
<v Speaker 5>creepy robot, which like I find super interesting, you know,
<v Speaker 5>like more so than say, there's a little bit that
<v Speaker 5>Lovecraftian vibe here that's very predominant and a bloodborne but
<v Speaker 5>that's not necessarily always been my favorite kind of aesthetic.
<v Speaker 5>This speaks to me even where yeah, the weapons in
<v Speaker 5>the game in general are cool, but the DLC adds
<v Speaker 5>a ton of neat weapons. My rocket sphere, which one
<v Speaker 5>of the attacks did just on me literally kind of
<v Speaker 5>rocket along with it for as long as I had stamina.
<v Speaker 5>At one point I got just squalls gun blade from
<v Speaker 5>Final Fantasy eight, Like he literally even like rested it
<v Speaker 5>on his shoulder exactly the same way. It was like
<v Speaker 5>the point where was like, man, I wouldn't mind doing
<v Speaker 5>New Game Plus and just playing the whole game with
<v Speaker 5>the gun blade. That sounds like a good time.
<v Speaker 1>Oh that's cool, Okay, I gotta check this out then.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah quick, yeah, before we're off from stuff I did.
<v Speaker 2>I told myself I was gonna maybe in a few
<v Speaker 2>months or something, come back and beat the Demon of
<v Speaker 2>Hatred and Securo. I just streamed it over the weekend
<v Speaker 2>and beat the Deme of Hatred and it's just like, okay, man,
<v Speaker 2>I just I want to just replay that game already.
<v Speaker 2>It's uh now, yeah.
<v Speaker 5>It's because like I'm not usually a DEALC guy, but
<v Speaker 5>something about these kind of souls likes they usually always
<v Speaker 5>have really good DLC that most people just consider part
<v Speaker 5>of the game. Sakro is the one that never really
<v Speaker 5>got that.
<v Speaker 1>I think.
<v Speaker 5>So it's a bit of a bummer in that case
<v Speaker 5>because I could absolutely use uh some more Sacroo. But boy, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I like Liza p a Ton, I think it's just
<v Speaker 5>as good as a lot of even the frum stoft stuff.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe not, but as the tippy top like eldering sacro
<v Speaker 5>for me. But and I know this as sacro some people.
<v Speaker 5>I think it's kind of in that same tier as
<v Speaker 5>like a Dark Soul's Dark Souls three even.
<v Speaker 1>It's too crazy. I feel like I've seen very positive
<v Speaker 1>sentiment with who made that?
<v Speaker 2>Where did this come from? Like I remember like first
<v Speaker 2>hearing man like there's some weird Pinocchio Dark Soul. I
<v Speaker 2>thought it was like a gimmick, you know, like a
<v Speaker 2>meme game or something. It's like, who the fuck made this?
<v Speaker 5>No, it was called Neo Korean game Neo w is Yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's South It's a South Korean game studio. Who like
<v Speaker 5>I think most of the other stuff you've probably not
<v Speaker 5>heard of, right, And yeah, then for some reason they
<v Speaker 5>just made a very very good Souls like.
<v Speaker 1>The Banger Mike. Have you ever checked out any of
<v Speaker 1>the other Souls like games like Wu Kong or any
<v Speaker 1>of those.
<v Speaker 5>I think I played Wukong for a bit. I might
<v Speaker 5>check out there's Wukong and Wu Chong, which so I
<v Speaker 5>can never remember which one was which, I gotta be honest,
<v Speaker 5>but not a ton. I bought the Surge games really
<v Speaker 5>cheap recently.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yes, I remember tam feeling okay about the
<v Speaker 1>Surge games.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>At the time, they were like the first other Souls likes, right,
<v Speaker 5>So I wonder if maybe they got a little grace
<v Speaker 5>because of that, or maybe like the second one is
<v Speaker 5>better than the first one. So who knows, I might
<v Speaker 5>I might look into some of the other ones, like
<v Speaker 5>Kazan whoa Loong Oh you know it's it's see, I've
<v Speaker 5>been on such a kick with these that maybe I
<v Speaker 5>should take a little break. I don't know, but there
<v Speaker 5>he always sort of adjacent, and maybe I would Maybe
<v Speaker 5>I could go back to New three and start that
<v Speaker 5>from the beginning, because I kind of started. I had
<v Speaker 5>that weird play through right now that I with Kayla
<v Speaker 5>where I was kind of running past half of the
<v Speaker 5>game just to get to a boss. But yeah, there's
<v Speaker 5>I don't know. I do like this style of action game.
<v Speaker 5>I'm realizing even more so than say, character action, which
<v Speaker 5>I know is kind of you know, and I like
<v Speaker 5>those fine, like more so than character action or whatever
<v Speaker 5>sort of action you call, like the God of were
<v Speaker 5>cool down action game. I suppose, I don't know, but
<v Speaker 5>something that's very the crux of the gameplay is sort
<v Speaker 5>of reading the opponents right, as long as it involves
<v Speaker 5>that and kind the bit of that pattern recognition, That's
<v Speaker 5>what I'm really into.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, okay, speaking about playing older games, Dan, You've been
<v Speaker 1>checking out Mini Shoot Adventures again.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, And it's like the first time I played it
<v Speaker 2>was on Steam Deck. So it's not like, wow, it's
<v Speaker 2>on the go because that time I played it the
<v Speaker 2>first time. But I'm playing it again and just instantly
<v Speaker 2>having fun with it and just like I think, this
<v Speaker 2>is what this is just all I need games to be.
<v Speaker 2>It's just the thing they did all of the game
<v Speaker 2>things I need.
<v Speaker 1>This is great.
<v Speaker 2>I'm moving, I'm shooting, I'm fighting bosses, I'm solving puzzles.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's still I think I like the art style
<v Speaker 2>more now that it's been more time, because I remember
<v Speaker 2>it feeling like a little more flash gamy the first time,
<v Speaker 2>and now it's like I look at it and I
<v Speaker 2>just think, oh, yeah, that's the mini shoot art style.
<v Speaker 2>It's fine, it's good. Yeah, it's just a tremendously satisfying game,
<v Speaker 2>and like just the way deals with upgrades and stuff,
<v Speaker 2>and how easy it is to kind of slop those
<v Speaker 2>gyms in and out, and it's pretty open as far
<v Speaker 2>as the map, Like it's very easy to just kind
<v Speaker 2>of go well outside of your map region that you've
<v Speaker 2>got unlocked and just kind of explore and level up
<v Speaker 2>beyond where the game would normally have you go. But yeah,
<v Speaker 2>just another shout out. Like I know, I talked about
<v Speaker 2>it constantly when it first came out, but again now
<v Speaker 2>that it's on Switch to Many Shoot Adventures, it's Zelda
<v Speaker 2>Geometry Wars. That just those two things together and turns
<v Speaker 2>out that works very well.
<v Speaker 1>That's why it's oh go ahead back.
<v Speaker 3>Oh sorry I'm saying that's why it's like back in
<v Speaker 3>conversation because of the switch to release, right, Yeah, yep,
<v Speaker 3>I feel like that's like low key a good strategy.
<v Speaker 3>I realized switched to is a relatively new ish platform,
<v Speaker 3>But if you were to like wanting to get that
<v Speaker 3>shot in the arm, I don't know, this is a
<v Speaker 3>perfect game to kind of have like a second victory
<v Speaker 3>lap sort of thing, you know.
<v Speaker 1>And yeah, Dan, we're ever a fan of like old
<v Speaker 1>shoot them ups or schmups?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I always liked them. I never got like, like
<v Speaker 2>there were the bullet hell is where I got at
<v Speaker 2>the point where it's like I never played them enough
<v Speaker 2>to get good at him. Like I remember, I deeply
<v Speaker 2>respected like Ikaruga when it came out right, like oh,
<v Speaker 2>this is like obviously a very good game. But I
<v Speaker 2>just wasn't like I don't know if I wasn't good
<v Speaker 2>enough or didn't spend the time really to get good
<v Speaker 2>at them. But yeah, like nineteen forty two, you know,
<v Speaker 2>anytime I saw a schmup a an arcade, I would
<v Speaker 2>play it in unit.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's like a whole separate fandom. It's it's interesting,
<v Speaker 5>like I kind of peeked behind the curtain less year.
<v Speaker 5>I was like schmuck curious. I'm like, oh, there's like
<v Speaker 5>a whole other community that is just like these are
<v Speaker 5>the games we really like, And I find it fascinating.
<v Speaker 1>I learned that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, when I started the GI I remember I had
<v Speaker 2>to review like a Skullgirls was one of them, and
<v Speaker 2>I I didn't like it, Yeah, or was it?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>It was it looks like it had that type of
<v Speaker 2>vibe to it.
<v Speaker 5>It wasn't anymore a goal gallvillions or something garden.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe it was something that I just wasn't super hot on.
<v Speaker 2>And like the responses I got was like, whoa, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>some people are real into the schmups and very defensively.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, Well speaking about games
<v Speaker 1>that just got to do the thing and they're good,
<v Speaker 1>Mike Manatti, you streamed yesterday Slay the Spire too.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, did a couple of runs for the site, then
<v Speaker 5>played a few more that evening. Boy, it's funny. I
<v Speaker 5>only played the first lay Inspire finally last year as
<v Speaker 5>part as my twenty nineteen apology tour. I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>this is a really good game. Somebody especially spent a
<v Speaker 5>lot of time with Heartstone and and likes card games
<v Speaker 5>that kind of got tired of, like, oh it's another
<v Speaker 5>two months spent fifty dollar on more digital cards. That's
<v Speaker 5>kind of getting hard to keep up with. If you
<v Speaker 5>have the deck build or I just you know, have
<v Speaker 5>a game and I'm gonna make a new deck each
<v Speaker 5>time and have to make that work, but I still
<v Speaker 5>kind of get the same neurons activated in my brain.
<v Speaker 5>It's fun stuff, and this is also very fun. It's
<v Speaker 5>definitely slight the spire too, right, you're doing the same
<v Speaker 5>kind of things. You're making those you know, you start
<v Speaker 5>with the very basic decks and you're trying to get
<v Speaker 5>rid of the basic cards and get better cards and
<v Speaker 5>try to find some synergies of Okay, my deck is
<v Speaker 5>drawing a lot of cards, or the cards that are
<v Speaker 5>strong with that, or ooh, I have a lot of
<v Speaker 5>cards that are getting me shields. They are a way
<v Speaker 5>to turn my defense into offense. You have the different
<v Speaker 5>characters that each have some kind of different gimmicks, starting
<v Speaker 5>off where it's like, oh, this guy heals himself at
<v Speaker 5>their battle too. This is a necromancer and he has
<v Speaker 5>a pet, and you can give the pet more max
<v Speaker 5>help and then the pet can attack and you're right.
<v Speaker 5>So you know, it gets more complicated all the way.
<v Speaker 5>That's very satisfying because just the basic process of trying
<v Speaker 5>to complete a run with each of these characters is
<v Speaker 5>a good time, and then there's challenges beyond that work.
<v Speaker 5>This could just be the game you play.
<v Speaker 1>This could be your.
<v Speaker 5>Game now I have to try it out, like the
<v Speaker 5>co op, which I think is the big new thing here,
<v Speaker 5>which maybe you know because right now, like, oh yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it is Slay the Spire too. It is Slay the
<v Speaker 5>Spire some more and some new, and that's fine. I'm
<v Speaker 5>curious that the co op really shakes things up.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I saw a little bit of Game Informer streaming
<v Speaker 1>the co op, and I just don't know if I
<v Speaker 1>would want to devote like a couple of runs to
<v Speaker 1>having to like balance and work with someone else, just
<v Speaker 1>because the way like I play those games, I'm kind
<v Speaker 1>of just like doing the site reading of like all right,
<v Speaker 1>just rattling through and like, all right, this is the
<v Speaker 1>most optimum build for this run. I'm just gonna blast
<v Speaker 1>through it versus like taking too much time to think
<v Speaker 1>about it.
<v Speaker 5>I bet it's really good, and I bet I'll also
<v Speaker 5>try it out once and probably not engage with that
<v Speaker 5>system anymore.
<v Speaker 1>Who knows. I want to try.
<v Speaker 5>It to, but it's like I'm usually pretty cautious about
<v Speaker 5>early access stuff to like maybe I'll try a little
<v Speaker 5>bit and then I'll be like, oh I want a
<v Speaker 5>wait for this game to be out. This game feels
<v Speaker 5>like I'm playing a full game. Likes, I could see
<v Speaker 5>how they're gonna maybe add you know, they're gonna add
<v Speaker 5>more to it, for sure, more cards and like some
<v Speaker 5>other things, but not in some way that feels like
<v Speaker 5>I'm having lesser experience in some of the early act
<v Speaker 5>Excuse me, some of the early access stuff is actually
<v Speaker 5>kind of charming. Like when it's not final art, it
<v Speaker 5>literally looks like a kid's like crayon drawing of what
<v Speaker 5>something is and it's you know, it says like not
<v Speaker 5>final and I actually love that Art's like, that's some
<v Speaker 5>of my favorite looking stuff in the game is like
<v Speaker 5>some guy drew a star field or like a demon
<v Speaker 5>and yeah, it looks like a first grader did it.
<v Speaker 5>That stuff's fantastic.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, speaking about a game that parts of it are
<v Speaker 1>well parts of it to me feel like it's an
<v Speaker 1>early access Dan, you and I have been playing in
<v Speaker 1>checking out WWE two K twenty six.
<v Speaker 2>Man, if people want to see the long form look
<v Speaker 2>at it, like, I don't think anything we can say
<v Speaker 2>with our voices here can get across just how casino
<v Speaker 2>bullshit this game is. I don't even think there's not
<v Speaker 2>even enough with the actual gameplay that's changed or upgraded
<v Speaker 2>or gotten better or worse or anything to even like
<v Speaker 2>it's that same fucking game it's been for a long
<v Speaker 2>time since like two K twenty two, which is like
<v Speaker 2>a serviceable ish but I still don't think fun wrestling game.
<v Speaker 2>But it is just wrapped now in the most like
<v Speaker 2>as someone who doesn't play like the other like NBA
<v Speaker 2>two K or FIFA or any of that shit, I
<v Speaker 2>just don't like this whole like card thing and this
<v Speaker 2>whole like an app just super aggressive shit, Like it's
<v Speaker 2>new to me. I only see it here. And every
<v Speaker 2>time I go into like a my Faction mode or something,
<v Speaker 2>and I'm hit with four hundred fucking screens of just
<v Speaker 2>like buy this VC and buy this booster, and here's
<v Speaker 2>the sixteen different passes and upgrades, and like I look
<v Speaker 2>at a roster of four hundred wrestlers, which is great
<v Speaker 2>on paper, but then when half of them are great
<v Speaker 2>out and it's like, oh you and b Bray whatt
<v Speaker 2>you have to go through my rise for this. Oh
<v Speaker 2>you gotta go through the trip like ringside pass. If
<v Speaker 2>you want to get the burned version of Bray White,
<v Speaker 2>you gotta get Hollywood Hogan is behind this, it's just like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>this fucking sucks. It's it's just yeah, deeply unenjoyable.
<v Speaker 1>And I haven't actually gotten my hands on, uh one
<v Speaker 1>of these games, like I've mostly consumed them through like
<v Speaker 1>quick looks that we'll put on or just like watching
<v Speaker 1>other content creators do stuff with it. And sometimes I'll
<v Speaker 1>just set up an AI match, not actually just play
<v Speaker 1>the actual game. But since I have the code, I
<v Speaker 1>wanted to dip into the wrestling and give it a
<v Speaker 1>proper shot, because there are people that genuinely really like
<v Speaker 1>the wrestling in these games. I don't know how now,
<v Speaker 1>who they.
<v Speaker 2>Like looking above a fucking character's head and waiting for
<v Speaker 2>a y prompt and then missing it and then watching
<v Speaker 2>that sounds it's a real fun time.
<v Speaker 1>It's it's really cool. And also, Dan, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>what the fuck they're going for, because are they trying
<v Speaker 1>to go for a sim wrestling game or because it's
<v Speaker 1>not Arcadie, Because it's not fun to just jump in
<v Speaker 1>and play. I can't imagine giving this to a friend
<v Speaker 1>that is like, oh, coming over and wants to play
<v Speaker 1>like a multiplayer game. Fucking way no, because like, at
<v Speaker 1>least with any other fighting game, you could parse out
<v Speaker 1>what to do. You could mash buns and still have
<v Speaker 1>a good time.
<v Speaker 2>And here's how you're a finisher, here's how you do like.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>The thing that that's always been the problem with the
<v Speaker 2>wrestling is there's so many different circumstances where it's like, Okay, well,
<v Speaker 2>this guy's finisher is done in the corner, this guy's
<v Speaker 2>finisher is a ray masterio? How do you set up
<v Speaker 2>the six one nine?
<v Speaker 1>How do you like?
<v Speaker 2>If you play these games a ton, you know how
<v Speaker 2>to do it. But if you're just like having a
<v Speaker 2>friend over to you know, like you can have a
<v Speaker 2>friend over and play Mortal Kombat and have fun. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>you know, you don't have to know every movement fatality.
<v Speaker 2>You can still basically understand the language of the game.
<v Speaker 2>Wrestling doesn't work that way, and so like good wrestling
<v Speaker 2>games are the ones that have been boiled down to
<v Speaker 2>like everyone points to the sixty four ones for a
<v Speaker 2>reason or here comes the pain. They were boiled down enough,
<v Speaker 2>they were arcadie enough, they didn't have to be full
<v Speaker 2>on WWE All Star's cartoon land, but they certainly weren't
<v Speaker 2>sims And I don't think wrestling game work as sims.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think they ever really have. And yeah, not
<v Speaker 2>the case.
<v Speaker 1>Here, and we we highlighted in the quick look, but
<v Speaker 1>it is just so mismatched the different wrestler models, like
<v Speaker 1>some of them like, oh, you put more work into
<v Speaker 1>so and so versus other person because other person looks
<v Speaker 1>like shit in comparison.
<v Speaker 2>Trust me, they were gonna very lovingly recreate Triple H.
<v Speaker 2>And then if you're a I don't know, like Maxine
<v Speaker 2>Duprix or something's probably not going to be quite wonder
<v Speaker 2>yeah you know.
<v Speaker 1>And I'm like, how could you disrespect Delo Brown like this?
<v Speaker 1>And no Delo uh? And then you know, Dan, like I,
<v Speaker 1>just for morbid curiosity sake, I went into like the
<v Speaker 1>is it my factions? That is a card?
<v Speaker 2>That's the card thing?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Right? And then y'all know, I like games like
<v Speaker 1>Uma Musume, which is kind of like a management card
<v Speaker 1>game when you boil it down, and I wanted to like,
<v Speaker 1>not that I wanted to like it, but I just
<v Speaker 1>wanted to try and understand it and understand the appeal
<v Speaker 1>because just like Dan, I've never engaged with all the FIFA,
<v Speaker 1>all the NBA two cabullshit with the cards, so like
<v Speaker 1>who is obsessed with this and why? And y'all also
<v Speaker 1>know I like opening like physical cards and stuff, so
<v Speaker 1>I thought maybe it'll like hit that dopamine. There absolutely not.
<v Speaker 1>Some of it is just so purposely obtuse and just
<v Speaker 1>like so poorly designed. But you know, it is designed
<v Speaker 1>in such a predatory way that whoever this appeals to
<v Speaker 1>it is made to exploit their wallets. Yeah, and like
<v Speaker 1>keep engaging with it, and it's just not even fun.
<v Speaker 2>No, And it's just so egregious with this stuff where it's,
<v Speaker 2>like I said in the quick look, but like they
<v Speaker 2>make it seem like there's four different editions of the game,
<v Speaker 2>Like you know, here's the delect edition, Here's the Collector's Edition.
<v Speaker 2>Whatever with this one. It's like here's the King of
<v Speaker 2>King's Triple Ah Edition, Here's the Attitude Era edition, Here's
<v Speaker 2>the Monday Night War Edition. And it's like it made
<v Speaker 2>me think when they originally announced it, it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I guess they're doing like another Attitude story mode. No,
<v Speaker 2>punk is the showcase mode. These fucking mode like one
<v Speaker 2>hundred and fifty dollars or whatever. Monday Night Wars Edition
<v Speaker 2>it's not like you get a bunch of Monday Night
<v Speaker 2>War stuff. You open up like a pack where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I can be Hollywood Hogan and Kevin Nash and wo
<v Speaker 2>style and like in a card on like a card
<v Speaker 2>pack thing for your my faction thing. It's just like
<v Speaker 2>it's a jpeg of Kevin Nash. Look, I love Kevin Nash,
<v Speaker 2>but like, good lord, that's one hundred and fifty dollars
<v Speaker 2>for that and some some currency that it's just not
<v Speaker 2>it's so emblematic of the current state of w DOE,
<v Speaker 2>of TKO, of from what I hear two K and
<v Speaker 2>their sports games. It's just like it's just so gross
<v Speaker 2>and uh, it's overwhelming with that shit.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and I really don't understand this island that they've
<v Speaker 1>made this.
<v Speaker 2>Really weird and stupid. It's it's just another virtual shop.
<v Speaker 2>Let's go to the Nike store, Let's go to the
<v Speaker 2>Jordan store. Let's yeah, it's just insane.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm I'm very I know that there is like
<v Speaker 1>a certain I guess bias that comes when reviewing this game,
<v Speaker 1>and like this game will speak to people or the
<v Speaker 1>people that choose to review it are like, well, I
<v Speaker 1>like the these previous games. I'm gonna go see what
<v Speaker 1>the newest one is. I'm just constantly surprised that they
<v Speaker 1>review fairly. Well, yeah, I really.
<v Speaker 5>Get away with it, like these games, the questions, These
<v Speaker 5>games sell very well, and like you know, like every
<v Speaker 5>once in a while they'll be the one that's so
<v Speaker 5>bad that the reviews are bad. But as long as
<v Speaker 5>they kind of do until the lines not, then yeah, right,
<v Speaker 5>like then you'll get a low eighties score on one
<v Speaker 5>of these.
<v Speaker 2>And I don't know, I just cannot imagine being a
<v Speaker 2>person that sees all that stuff and is not bothered
<v Speaker 2>by how in your face it is with all that
<v Speaker 2>and how constant it is. It's just I mean, even
<v Speaker 2>if the game was good, even if I love the
<v Speaker 2>wrestling engine and the matches were fun and everything, I
<v Speaker 2>would find it very hard to give it a good
<v Speaker 2>score because of all this shit it's wrapped in.
<v Speaker 5>But like, like even like the newer Madden games, like
<v Speaker 5>the average scores are like in the sixties a lot
<v Speaker 5>of the time, right, So like, I guess, oh, the
<v Speaker 5>last one was apparently much better, got seventy nine. Look
<v Speaker 5>at that, So I don't know, back, are you gonna
<v Speaker 5>say so yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Like what what what's really going on? Right?
<v Speaker 3>Is it that someone who puts up with their ship
<v Speaker 3>as a product is like perfect for this ship that's
<v Speaker 3>a video game?
<v Speaker 1>Is that what it is? Like? I don't, I don't
<v Speaker 1>know stuff like yeah, like it's the worst, Like, isn't that?
<v Speaker 2>I mean I think they do kind of target a
<v Speaker 2>certain Like I went to that prece event at WWE HQ,
<v Speaker 2>and it's like they were like having the different wrestlers
<v Speaker 2>come out and their theme song would play when they
<v Speaker 2>came out, and like most of the other people there
<v Speaker 2>were like chanting along to the songs and stuff, and
<v Speaker 2>they were doing like the Pento walk when pent was
<v Speaker 2>like I hesitate to use this phrase, but kind of
<v Speaker 2>mark shit, you know the ones that are just like
<v Speaker 2>on like ya, WWE the corporation. You know, It's like
<v Speaker 2>it's kind of surprised they keep inviting me because like
<v Speaker 2>I have not liked these games pretty much ever, But yeah,
<v Speaker 2>there are a lot of people there that just seem
<v Speaker 2>like they are inviting. It's like, what was it they
<v Speaker 2>slop it up? It was like the remember there was
<v Speaker 2>the whole deal like the Skyrim re release in like
<v Speaker 2>the mid twenty tens and it was one of the
<v Speaker 2>first times. It's like, oh, but as I was sending
<v Speaker 2>this out to enthusiast Skyrim YouTubers before they sent it
<v Speaker 2>out to the igns and game spots and giant bombs
<v Speaker 2>of the world, and it's like, yeah, I think that
<v Speaker 2>might be kind of what's going on here, you know, right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I believe that because reasonable people are like, this
<v Speaker 3>is trash and that's it. That's all you need to know,
<v Speaker 3>Like you send it to reasonable people.
<v Speaker 1>Dan, I think you mentioned like, wasn't there like a
<v Speaker 1>different section for the influencers that were there versus like press.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was interesting because it's like you had the
<v Speaker 2>content creator. Like if you go into WAHQ now, it's
<v Speaker 2>like the lobby has like all these different floors that
<v Speaker 2>kind of like mezzanine type look over the lobby, and
<v Speaker 2>so they set up all these gameplay stations on these
<v Speaker 2>different floors, and like the first couple were all like
<v Speaker 2>content creators, and so that's when like they're bringing out
<v Speaker 2>Drew McIntyre and Oba Fami and Tristrattis and seeing punk
<v Speaker 2>and stuff. They're having to sit down to the stations
<v Speaker 2>and they can play with you and they're doing interviews
<v Speaker 2>and stuff like that, and then like the top top
<v Speaker 2>one they shoved like you know, me and and Roger
<v Speaker 2>from kind of Funny and Marcus from Game Informer and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>We're just kind of like, oh, here's the old Krusty.
<v Speaker 1>Oh.
<v Speaker 2>They they write words and talk about, you know, things critically.
<v Speaker 2>And again I don't mean to like there's a ton
<v Speaker 2>of like great talented people like you know, yeah, you
<v Speaker 2>know it was in the content creator floor and stuff
<v Speaker 2>like that, but they definitely did kind of like shove
<v Speaker 2>the traditional press up in their own little corner.
<v Speaker 1>It's been interesting to see, uh this game more also, Dan,
<v Speaker 1>because I think my social media algorithms are being influenced
<v Speaker 1>by me playing it or just looking up gameplay clips
<v Speaker 1>to see try and see people enjoying this game. And
<v Speaker 1>I don't believe them. I don't believe that they're having
<v Speaker 1>fun because like uh, you mentioned in the quick look
<v Speaker 1>that like you know, John Blood and and his his
<v Speaker 1>homies will kind of like treat it like a match
<v Speaker 1>and set up spots. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And I did have the realization when, like I was
<v Speaker 2>on the new Legacy video where is Macho Tia Juhn
<v Speaker 2>Blood and me, and we did a triple threat, and
<v Speaker 2>it's like I was playing it like I would play
<v Speaker 2>like a fighting game, where it's like I'm going in,
<v Speaker 2>I'm trying to get my moves in, I'm trying to
<v Speaker 2>get a finisher and win the game. And then I
<v Speaker 2>kind of realized as we were recording, it's like, oh, wait,
<v Speaker 2>they're setting up spots and stuff and I'm just running
<v Speaker 2>in trying to like win, and it's like, oh, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>maybe this is because like I don't really know like
<v Speaker 2>wrestling YouTube like that scene at all. It's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I guess I could see why they're kind of making
<v Speaker 2>it more of a show the way wrestling would be
<v Speaker 2>rather than like a competition, you know. So it's like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>maybe I'm just not tracking what this is, you know.
<v Speaker 1>But I feel like with John and then like New
<v Speaker 1>Legacy InCor are doing is very different than some of
<v Speaker 1>these other content creators that I've come across, because like,
<v Speaker 1>I honestly, God don't believe them when they're saying like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this is the best game ever, this is the best
<v Speaker 1>version of this game. Look at these physics blah blah blah,
<v Speaker 1>and like I think you're full of shit, I don't
<v Speaker 1>think you know what a game is. There are a
<v Speaker 1>lot of marks, a lot of marks men, a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people.
<v Speaker 2>Still slopping up the w do stuff big time, and a.
<v Speaker 1>Lot of mark ass bitches.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah that's always been the case. That's why the business
<v Speaker 2>of a rustling has gone on as long as it has.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, at times it's been better than it is now.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about wrestling, it sounds like, you know, we've gone
<v Speaker 1>through multiple rounds of wrestling games, but it sounds like
<v Speaker 1>Dib is going through rounds.
<v Speaker 3>He's who I find out about all the coolest games
<v Speaker 3>from now what there's three of us here, Well, this
<v Speaker 3>is an old game, so pick it for what.
<v Speaker 2>He's a retro guy.
<v Speaker 3>He's this huge retro guy loves what came out five
<v Speaker 3>years ago, back in twenty twenty one, and that is
<v Speaker 3>the game Rounds.
<v Speaker 1>Have you guys ever heard of round Not?
<v Speaker 5>But now I'm looking at it and its like as
<v Speaker 5>overwhelmingly positive reviews and looks like something we would enjoy playing.
<v Speaker 5>It's it's basically the smiley face Ben with guns.
<v Speaker 3>It looks like Yeah, so it's it's like.
<v Speaker 1>A one v one.
<v Speaker 3>Like gun shooting battling where you play five. After each round,
<v Speaker 3>the person who loses the round gets a card upgrade
<v Speaker 3>gets a perk, so you know it imagine like the
<v Speaker 3>way spider Heck is presented, where you're like a randomized
<v Speaker 3>sort of level. Then it's one v one and then
<v Speaker 3>the two of you go at it, and whoever dies
<v Speaker 3>first is offered a pretty substantial perk because there's only
<v Speaker 3>five rounds, so the stakes escalate super super quickly. It
<v Speaker 3>is incredibly fun. You get you have a shield cool down,
<v Speaker 3>and you have a bullet bullet capacity cool down, and
<v Speaker 3>that's it. There's no other kind of like mechanic that
<v Speaker 3>you really have to worry about. You get you can
<v Speaker 3>you know, I've definitely like I guess that's like the
<v Speaker 3>rogue part of it too, where you like you start
<v Speaker 3>to realize, like, oh, if I go down this path
<v Speaker 3>where like I make all my bullets poison and if
<v Speaker 3>you make contact with one you know, shot, then the
<v Speaker 3>other player takes damage over a certain period of time.
<v Speaker 3>We we must have played this for three hours on
<v Speaker 3>Sunday nights.
<v Speaker 1>Cool.
<v Speaker 3>It's really really a lot of fun. I can't believe
<v Speaker 3>it completely missed.
<v Speaker 1>It missed me.
<v Speaker 3>He came home from her friend's house and was just like,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, I missed this. I'm like, well, you
<v Speaker 3>were like two at the time. No, it's it's great.
<v Speaker 3>It really is great. He obviously loves spider Hack. We
<v Speaker 3>still play spider Hack a bunch. I think this is
<v Speaker 3>even more accessible because spider Hack has like a certain
<v Speaker 3>level of like, uh, there there is a bit of
<v Speaker 3>like a skill barrier that you kind of have to
<v Speaker 3>cross where getting into rounds is pretty much uh, you know,
<v Speaker 3>play and you're you and you're off to the races.
<v Speaker 5>Oh, this is this is a landfall. This is the
<v Speaker 5>peak people. Oh oh is it part of well Agroc Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>well that's the publisher. Anyways, I guess so you okay.
<v Speaker 2>This type of game is a great example of, like
<v Speaker 2>you know, earlier we were talking about accessibility, like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>if you had a friend over, you wouldn't put him
<v Speaker 2>in front of two K twenty six because it's not accessible.
<v Speaker 2>I think this type like TowerFall, Samurai Gun Ducky. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>what I'm saying, these are ideal for like you don't
<v Speaker 2>even really have to play games. A lot of these
<v Speaker 2>games have one or two buttons and the simplest concept
<v Speaker 2>you can explain like elevator pitch style, like that's it,
<v Speaker 2>this is the best for that.
<v Speaker 3>He'd you know, and obviously like you know, I mean,
<v Speaker 3>he picked it up super quick and he was fucking
<v Speaker 3>destroying me the first couple of rounds and then I
<v Speaker 3>kind of like figured out what was going on here.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, the variety of perks is really cool. Uh,
<v Speaker 3>they're you know, they're randomized, so you know, you can
<v Speaker 3>certainly like land on you know, some of like the
<v Speaker 3>op ones and you're like, oh, you're in trouble now.
<v Speaker 3>But then they kind of like balance it pretty well
<v Speaker 3>because when it's your your turn to pick a perk,
<v Speaker 3>they kind of meet that level of ability sort of
<v Speaker 3>in kind. So yeah, I think it's really cool. It's
<v Speaker 3>super cheap, cool. Go check it out if you're looking
<v Speaker 3>for like the local Yeah, local local co op, couch
<v Speaker 3>co op, super fun.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if you could play it online. I
<v Speaker 1>gotta imagine, what do you can.
<v Speaker 5>What do you think co op means? It looks like
<v Speaker 5>very cop.
<v Speaker 2>An one forget everyone what the co op means? Everyone
<v Speaker 2>says couch anytime. It's a competitive game. Now it's driven
<v Speaker 2>me in saying for like a decade. It's Cooper. We're
<v Speaker 2>working together as a team.
<v Speaker 3>It's totally so, I mean, so what do you call this?
<v Speaker 3>So what's a better word?
<v Speaker 2>Because we multi it's a multi competitive multiplayer.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but it's but but the couch because couches and.
<v Speaker 2>Local multiplayer, that's what local local?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's local one one on one. Watch. Look now
<v Speaker 1>that's terrible call it that. Yeah, local a local one
<v Speaker 1>v one right.
<v Speaker 2>Local Smash Brothers four player? You know call these video games?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Video Yeah. I was Actually it's funny you say that, Mike,
<v Speaker 1>because I was going to ask Backlar has did checked
<v Speaker 1>out any of the Smash Brothers games, Because based off
<v Speaker 1>of the things he's shown interest in, I can maybe
<v Speaker 1>see a pipeline or he gets in the Smash I
<v Speaker 1>could see him in joying it. I don't think he's
<v Speaker 1>like as Nintendo coded as the world wants him to be. Well,
<v Speaker 1>you don't have to be to play Smash. Those are
<v Speaker 1>like fighting game people, no, like all kinds of random
<v Speaker 1>assholes find their way in that game. I get it.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, he's never had hands on it. I'm not
<v Speaker 1>a big Smash guy. Uh so you know, he he'd
<v Speaker 1>have to be exposed to it through outside forces.
<v Speaker 3>But uh yeah, I don't. I don't think I think
<v Speaker 3>it's worth a shot.
<v Speaker 5>It's gonna be interesting when the next Smash Bros. Comes out,
<v Speaker 5>because I don't know. I'm a I'm a big Smash guy.
<v Speaker 5>So I feel like it's gonna be a surprising amount
<v Speaker 5>of Smash coverage on here and people aren't gonna be
<v Speaker 5>right for it. I gotta figure out what that's gonna
<v Speaker 5>look like. I want to.
<v Speaker 1>I want to. I want to show people what's up Smash. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>coming soon, Smash.
<v Speaker 2>You can play without items on. It's fucked up.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's crazy, right, it's more fun it turns out.
<v Speaker 3>Nope, but yes, uh most not a couch co op,
<v Speaker 3>but more a couch cooperative, No kidding, a couch one
<v Speaker 3>v one, which is fun.
<v Speaker 1>It's it's really it's really a good time. And how
<v Speaker 1>long did y'all play together? It was just like what
<v Speaker 1>like three hours? Three hours? Sounds like a little bit
<v Speaker 1>of a marathon, just like we have checked out marathon
<v Speaker 1>on the website. I check out upf Last week, Dan
<v Speaker 1>Grubb and Mikey played marathon boys. I want to hear
<v Speaker 1>your thoughts.
<v Speaker 2>I like the moment to moment, I think, you know,
<v Speaker 2>this shouldn't surprise anyone that Bungee is incredibly good at
<v Speaker 2>doing gunplay and the guns look awesome, they feel awesome.
<v Speaker 2>Like when I have either AI or other players that
<v Speaker 2>I'm shooting at, I think it's really awesome. I definitely
<v Speaker 2>had to fight through my initial just like there were
<v Speaker 2>a few times I was ready to, like, as it
<v Speaker 2>was explaining a million just weird things to me, I
<v Speaker 2>was just like ready to put it away and be like,
<v Speaker 2>why is everything so fucking complicated now? Like what happened to? Like,
<v Speaker 2>there was definitely that part of me that's like what
<v Speaker 2>happened to?
<v Speaker 3>You?
<v Speaker 2>Gotta campaign? You got some takes on deathmatch and maybe
<v Speaker 2>some objective modes, you know, the classic like Halo Call
<v Speaker 2>of Duty thing, And it just got me thinking a
<v Speaker 2>lot about like is it because extraction shooters and that
<v Speaker 2>type of gameplay is what people prefer now? Or is
<v Speaker 2>it because those are easier to monetize on like a
<v Speaker 2>long time.
<v Speaker 5>I mean maybe a bit of Call, make bit of
<v Speaker 5>Call and b but like you know, like Arc Raiders
<v Speaker 5>is huge. There are definitely a lot of people who
<v Speaker 5>something about this loop is super engaging to them, right,
<v Speaker 5>And it's like the risk of it all. I wonder
<v Speaker 5>if it's a little bit like you know, or things
<v Speaker 5>became so forgiving and a little bit simplified that the
<v Speaker 5>idea of that a world is actually punishing you and
<v Speaker 5>pushing back a lot. It's like it's like the dark
<v Speaker 5>Souls of multiplayer shooters right right, Like we're getting things
<v Speaker 5>kind of easy there for a bit, and now it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>I feel like there's actually consequences if I lose. Then
<v Speaker 5>that makes me feel something again.
<v Speaker 2>But i'd like you say, the dark Souls and multiplayer shooters, Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>but give that to you know, like kind of like
<v Speaker 2>that like campaign, you know, like I can't help I
<v Speaker 2>think like this world and this art design and just
<v Speaker 2>the this game are all top not, but I want
<v Speaker 2>to play a fucking campaign.
<v Speaker 5>So I would up, Yeah, I agree with you, Like
<v Speaker 5>I think it feels really good. And like my biggest
<v Speaker 5>thing with the game is I don't know how much
<v Speaker 5>I like extraction shooters. I don't know how much I
<v Speaker 5>like the whole what am I doing in between matches
<v Speaker 5>kind of thing? I don't know if the whole like
<v Speaker 5>sell my surplus and you know, fiddle with my load
<v Speaker 5>out kind of thing is necessarily anything that's doing a
<v Speaker 5>lot for me, I'd rather just kind of get in,
<v Speaker 5>like to the point where at first it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>here's like the basic show or the basic load out
<v Speaker 5>you can put in. I'm like, I'll do that. Then
<v Speaker 5>it's clear if you do that, you're so weak you
<v Speaker 5>basically have no chanceling. All right, I guess I better
<v Speaker 5>really think about equipping this stuff. And then you're sort
<v Speaker 5>of because of that, you kind of play the game
<v Speaker 5>super cautiously, and that's I think part of the charm there.
<v Speaker 5>But you know, it's it is one of these games,
<v Speaker 5>this open war, A thing can happen. So yeah, sometimes
<v Speaker 5>you are just going to get unlucky. You're gonna be
<v Speaker 5>fighting one person. Another person's gonna come up and take
<v Speaker 5>advantage of that and then shoot you. Now, it also
<v Speaker 5>makes for these amazing moments, right where two people are
<v Speaker 5>fighting for an extraction zone and I'm the character who
<v Speaker 5>can turn invisible, so I just wait for the last second,
<v Speaker 5>pop my visibility, shoot some fog grenades, and just sneak
<v Speaker 5>into the extraction and get out there. So it makes
<v Speaker 5>for these big moments, and again I think that's another
<v Speaker 5>reason why this game is so popular with people. It's
<v Speaker 5>so popular with streamers and that kind of thing.
<v Speaker 2>I think the thing that's failed to get me a
<v Speaker 2>long term into things like Art Graders and Marathon just
<v Speaker 2>fight liking the gameplay is that, like for a game
<v Speaker 2>for a genre that's supposed to be about like getting
<v Speaker 2>this valuable stuff and extracting with it. I feel like,
<v Speaker 2>at least with both of these, which now are the
<v Speaker 2>two extraction shooters I've played, I always get back to
<v Speaker 2>the menus and I'm like, all right, I got a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of fucking I don't know. I got some AMMO
<v Speaker 2>and some metal bullshit, some containers like I don't like.
<v Speaker 2>It's never like I find something in the mission where
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, oh my god, I got to get this out.
<v Speaker 2>This is so valuable and so exciting. Yeah, they never
<v Speaker 2>have that feeling. It's just like it's a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>shit that I'm gonna have to like do inventory management
<v Speaker 2>of when I get back, you.
<v Speaker 5>Know, because you almost can't find anything too exciting because
<v Speaker 5>then you then you would have some giant advantage in
<v Speaker 5>the world with the other players. Right, So the loop
<v Speaker 5>is more about finding you know three coils because the
<v Speaker 5>current mission tells you too. And then there's the permanent
<v Speaker 5>character progression, and that's what people I think, really get
<v Speaker 5>stuck into. It is like, oh, I gotta like get
<v Speaker 5>through all these little factions. And they do so much
<v Speaker 5>of the production and set dressing to make that stuff cool.
<v Speaker 5>Like each time you unlock a new faction, there's this weird,
<v Speaker 5>horrifying like future hell commercial.
<v Speaker 2>For the commercial of like painting these like Neon plans.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, and it's super slick, like like the world building
<v Speaker 5>is is awesome, but it's also like not enough where again,
<v Speaker 5>I'm playing this game where I'm trying to get multiplayer matches.
<v Speaker 5>Then a robot wants to talk to me for two
<v Speaker 5>minutes and I'm like, I'm not listening.
<v Speaker 1>Do you do yod? How does it work if you
<v Speaker 1>just want to go in solo dolo? Can you just
<v Speaker 1>drop in? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>I tried that the other this weekend. I was like,
<v Speaker 2>I'm going to try the Rook thing, because the Rook
<v Speaker 2>was the class that I understood was like, Okay, you
<v Speaker 2>just kind of go in with a pre built thing.
<v Speaker 2>It's solo blah blah blah. You're not gonna level up
<v Speaker 2>much or whatever. But it's it kept saying like you
<v Speaker 2>got too much shit in your inventory, and this is
<v Speaker 2>or not like there might be a button or something
<v Speaker 2>where it's just like I just unload all my shit
<v Speaker 2>into my vault. I just want to be a rook,
<v Speaker 2>like you would think when you pick the rook, it's
<v Speaker 2>like do you want to throw all your shit out
<v Speaker 2>into your backpack or into your vault or whatever. And
<v Speaker 2>I couldn't do it, And so I was trying to
<v Speaker 2>individually take all the shit out of my backpack, but
<v Speaker 2>I didn't have room in my vault, and so then
<v Speaker 2>I have to like decide what stuff to sell. And
<v Speaker 2>it's like I wound up not even being able to
<v Speaker 2>play as the rook because it's like I just have
<v Speaker 2>too much shit and there's not a way to like
<v Speaker 2>offload it. Basically, that'said I do like the Faction stuff.
<v Speaker 2>I do like that there is something that like, even
<v Speaker 2>if it reminds me of like Fortnite quests, where it's like, look,
<v Speaker 2>you're not going to win first place for your royale
<v Speaker 2>every time, but there's all these quests that are getting
<v Speaker 2>you XP and stuff, and it's like, oh, okay, I
<v Speaker 2>rode in three cars or whatever, and I got some
<v Speaker 2>thing for my battle pass. The faction stuff in the
<v Speaker 2>contracts are that way where it's like, Okay, download something
<v Speaker 2>from here and then do this in the same run.
<v Speaker 2>So you have these objectives that are more than just
<v Speaker 2>get shit and get out. So I do like that
<v Speaker 2>because I don't remember that as much in our graders,
<v Speaker 2>you know.
<v Speaker 1>Backlart, you would be so jazzed with this game because
<v Speaker 1>of the sheer volume of fonts everywhere.
<v Speaker 2>Oh good fonts of very.
<v Speaker 1>Good fonts, Like yeah, should I fire this up? Watching
<v Speaker 1>these boys play, I was entertained merely looking at the UI.
<v Speaker 1>That's all right. Sometimes that's enough to like get me
<v Speaker 1>interested for a couple hours. Like I don't know what
<v Speaker 1>type of design it is, but like some of the
<v Speaker 1>guns just have like a gigantic like little mini LCD,
<v Speaker 1>not LCD, but like a flat screen on it just
<v Speaker 1>showing all your AMMO stuff, and like the little PDA
<v Speaker 1>that pops up when you're resing someone, and it's just
<v Speaker 1>like the little crude outline is like, oh that's cool.
<v Speaker 2>That bleeplop remote stuff, the pop up yeah on the
<v Speaker 2>XVILL and all that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I love a good bleep bloop remote. This game
<v Speaker 1>is popular, turns out.
<v Speaker 5>Huh maybe, like it's it's it's.
<v Speaker 1>Hard to tell.
<v Speaker 5>Like, right now the concurrence is thirty seven thousand, which
<v Speaker 5>is a lot bits Earlier in the day, it like
<v Speaker 5>it was peaking at seventy five thousand. It seems like
<v Speaker 5>that peak goes down maybe a little beach day. It's
<v Speaker 5>hard to say, Like those seem like good enough numbers
<v Speaker 5>to me. Is it good enough for Sony and bungeee?
<v Speaker 5>You know, arc Breaders for example, still peaks more, you know,
<v Speaker 5>like like twice as much as that maybe or even
<v Speaker 5>a bit more than that at the moment. So it's
<v Speaker 5>I don't know, it's so impossible to tell what the metrics.
<v Speaker 1>For those are as far steam numbers just steams to PlayStation.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, also thing here, you think that would probably be
<v Speaker 5>pretty well for a game published by PlayStation, right.
<v Speaker 2>I was curious. I'd never really looked at the steam
<v Speaker 2>dB concurrence before, and I did when I was curious
<v Speaker 2>if Marathon was doing well. And I'm looking at like,
<v Speaker 2>nothing will make me feel older than looking at the
<v Speaker 2>steam dB concurrence because it is just a laundry list
<v Speaker 2>of games. I it's just like what is Bongo Cat?
<v Speaker 2>What is you know? Like all these games, like it's
<v Speaker 2>all like super multiplayer stuff, Geometry, Dash, war Thunder, Like
<v Speaker 2>I know I said a million times before, like counter Strike.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know a single person that plays counter Strike.
<v Speaker 2>It is the number one most played game on Steam
<v Speaker 2>by an order of magnitude here, like who are these people?
<v Speaker 2>Is it just a world of game gamers like outside
<v Speaker 2>of our usual audience personal tastes.
<v Speaker 1>And yeah, but like your like counter Strike is huge
<v Speaker 1>in Asia, it's huge in Europe.
<v Speaker 5>Part of it is that for sure. Part of it
<v Speaker 5>is just like not in our circle. Part of it
<v Speaker 5>is not in our country.
<v Speaker 2>Even Delta.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, people still playing Rest.
<v Speaker 2>That's daisy hardest for all the stars.
<v Speaker 3>This is like when my father in law discovered people
<v Speaker 3>like yogurt similar energy and it's like you put you
<v Speaker 3>can put granola and it's delicious.
<v Speaker 2>Like yeah, yeah, the games are so fucking big now
<v Speaker 2>that like I don't know, I've this has been my
<v Speaker 2>entire life is games and careers and stuffing. Like there's
<v Speaker 2>just a whole world of games out there that is
<v Speaker 2>just like massively popular, and I don't know a single
<v Speaker 2>person who's ever played any of them.
<v Speaker 1>And the thing Dan is the you know, these are
<v Speaker 1>games that probably and most likely don't appeal to most
<v Speaker 1>of us. But that's also just Steam. Like there's a
<v Speaker 1>whole mobile audience out there that are playing like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>not even gotcha games, just random RPG bull crap or
<v Speaker 1>Match three stuff. Yeah, it's wilds are big now it
<v Speaker 1>turns out pac Man. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Remember don't you remember during the charity stream, Uh, Dylan
<v Speaker 3>wanted to challenge you to geometry Dash. No, well that
<v Speaker 3>was the note he sent during the donation, and geometry
<v Speaker 3>Dash is very popular.
<v Speaker 1>With people his age. Like a subway surfers.
<v Speaker 3>No, it's like a like an auto It's like an
<v Speaker 3>auto run jumper thing. Okay, yeah, it's it's really hard.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Okay.
<v Speaker 2>Project Zomboid, rim World, Limbus Company project.
<v Speaker 1>I think Project Zomboid I've heard before. Anyway, folks, Balder's
<v Speaker 1>game three is no one knows what that is. Uh, Folks,
<v Speaker 1>that about does it for video game talk. I would
<v Speaker 1>like to watch you guys play some more Marathon because
<v Speaker 1>apparently there's like, uh, drones have become very popular in
<v Speaker 1>the game. It was like a big puzzle.
<v Speaker 2>I got filled in with a random I tried one
<v Speaker 2>random filled crew thing and I had a little drone
<v Speaker 2>guy chased me around and my dudes had drones too,
<v Speaker 2>and I had no idea what that was about.
<v Speaker 1>I love I love it. Also, I'm just very glad
<v Speaker 1>that this game is having even a little bit of success,
<v Speaker 1>because it felt like it took forever to come out,
<v Speaker 1>and it just felt like different I don't want to
<v Speaker 1>say controversy, but like different thing to like misalign the
<v Speaker 1>game after a different thing. And I'm happy that people
<v Speaker 1>are liking it, happy that it's as popular as it is,
<v Speaker 1>and I'm happy to take a quick breaking break and
<v Speaker 1>we will be better. Wait.
<v Speaker 3>Wait, sorry, I hate doing this to you because I
<v Speaker 3>know it's like a buzzkill and you're just like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>I had a.
<v Speaker 1>Good outro going and backlars a piece of shit.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry. It's okay, preemptively sorry. Number one Rim World
<v Speaker 3>not what I thought it was. Number two, number two.
<v Speaker 3>I just got a d M from our special guest,
<v Speaker 3>and Vinnie Caravella says it's okay to say that he
<v Speaker 3>is coming along with us to Packsi'm going to be
<v Speaker 3>on our content with us to packs.
<v Speaker 1>He bear Bear is here.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I hope Vinnie asked me more since you're questions
<v Speaker 5>about Disney.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he's too nice.
<v Speaker 1>That's on the docks. That's actually all three all three
<v Speaker 1>panels are that?
<v Speaker 2>Okay?
<v Speaker 1>Uh, that's right. What would Vincent Caravella's music be if
<v Speaker 1>he did a surprise running.
<v Speaker 2>Man in the Box? Would it just be like sounds.
<v Speaker 1>Like just saws and stuff? It would be the whole
<v Speaker 1>improvement theme song? Ye oh my god. Do you know
<v Speaker 1>an Alison Chains songs Box and Rooster? Yeah? What about that?
<v Speaker 1>I know that that song.
<v Speaker 5>Too, uh because uh, actually my one of my one
<v Speaker 5>of my best friends really likes uh.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, okay, I just always I always suspected the mic.
<v Speaker 2>It's like, oh, I was in But Alison shades those
<v Speaker 2>songs in his.
<v Speaker 5>World of Warcraft p v P highlight videos, which were
<v Speaker 5>pretty yeah fuck yeah, hell yeah, I love that.
<v Speaker 1>Folks. We're gonna go, uh make our own World of
<v Speaker 1>Warcraft p VP videos during the break, and Mike McNaughty
<v Speaker 1>will be back with the news.
<v Speaker 5>Oh my god, mister man, Hi, everybody, I'm newsman. Now
<v Speaker 5>look at me, news news news m J Carty. As
<v Speaker 5>you look at that it's left.
<v Speaker 1>Grub always goes news news, Yeah, sound.
<v Speaker 5>News starting with Donald Glover is the voice of Yoshi
<v Speaker 5>of the Super Mario Guest movie.
<v Speaker 2>I'm a lor y'all don't know, no, no, is it
<v Speaker 2>just saying Donald Glover?
<v Speaker 1>Well that's that's the question.
<v Speaker 5>So okay, So this there was a Mario movie direct
<v Speaker 5>yesterday where basically they just showed the final trailer for
<v Speaker 5>this film that's coming out very soon, coming on April first,
<v Speaker 5>and they're like, yeah, Yoshi's voiced by Donald Glover, and
<v Speaker 5>I'm curious if that means this is like a grout
<v Speaker 5>situation Vin Diesel just as rude a lot, or is
<v Speaker 5>there going to be a sequence where, like, you know,
<v Speaker 5>Yoshi could talk. We know there's a sequence with like
<v Speaker 5>baby Mario baby Yoshi, So maybe a part where they
<v Speaker 5>understand him, or maybe it's a part where Yoshi's with
<v Speaker 5>other Yoshi's and only then they can talk.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know yo saying sentences.
<v Speaker 3>That would be cool though, Yeah, that would make me
<v Speaker 3>care about this movie more. Was just like verbos if
<v Speaker 3>he was just yeah, he was just like, hey, how
<v Speaker 3>are you?
<v Speaker 1>My name is Yoshi? Wow?
<v Speaker 2>It was this sound like Donald Glover's voice.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that'd be sick, huh.
<v Speaker 5>I know what else might make you care about this
<v Speaker 5>movie is that this trailer also gave us a look
<v Speaker 5>at Wart, the antagonist from Super Mario Brothers too.
<v Speaker 1>And you will never guess who the actor is.
<v Speaker 2>Let me guess. I guess Wart would be John c Riley.
<v Speaker 1>Luis Guzman. Oh, that's very good.
<v Speaker 2>Does he look like Ward from like Mario to Wart?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Yeah, you get.
<v Speaker 5>I think he's like running as like like.
<v Speaker 1>It seems like there's a whole.
<v Speaker 5>Part where they are just in a Super Mario two
<v Speaker 5>themed area, and I think that's where Burdo is, and
<v Speaker 5>then nin g So.
<v Speaker 2>Posers on the poster, right.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, that's that's the thing with this movie. It
<v Speaker 5>is the Mario Galaxy movie, but it's also kind of
<v Speaker 5>the Mario Galaxy Odyssey World two movie.
<v Speaker 1>There seems to be no restraint.
<v Speaker 5>It's just all in here because tons of new characters.
<v Speaker 5>We know, Rosaline is there, Bowser Junior. It is probably
<v Speaker 5>the equation so much so that like I no longer
<v Speaker 5>believe maybe they are gonna go that crazy. I don't
<v Speaker 5>think we're seeing Warrio and Wa Luigi unless it's a
<v Speaker 5>post credits.
<v Speaker 1>I think it.
<v Speaker 5>I can see that there's just too much. There's too
<v Speaker 5>much already here.
<v Speaker 2>I think there's it's about time we start introducing more
<v Speaker 2>Mario two stuff into the overall, Like you know, we
<v Speaker 2>just start having them in Mario cardmore. We already have
<v Speaker 2>shy guys, we have Pokey's, but like war Buser being
<v Speaker 2>in the movies, I want to see Mauser fry guy
<v Speaker 2>all those day there was a good lineup of bad
<v Speaker 2>guys we don't really see anymore from too cares.
<v Speaker 5>About War because we have not seen Warp much, so
<v Speaker 5>that that one is actually kind of that's the one
<v Speaker 5>that is surprising and need to meet to see Wart.
<v Speaker 5>So I would I would like to see Wart in
<v Speaker 5>games again, like yeah, throw throw him and Smash Brothers
<v Speaker 5>and Mario Carter.
<v Speaker 1>I forgot about him.
<v Speaker 5>Make him the villain of the next Mario game, even
<v Speaker 5>like the playable in it as a an.
<v Speaker 2>Ally Bouser's inside story and everyone's teaming up against Wart.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, so this movie coming out very soon probably make
<v Speaker 5>a zillion dollars.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah April oh shit, Okay, yeah, Like I guess I'll
<v Speaker 3>see it if did one wants to see it? I
<v Speaker 3>don't know what his temperature is on it. I feel
<v Speaker 3>like he he'll like, I don't think he's like a
<v Speaker 3>day one, like Daddy take me to see this. I
<v Speaker 3>think he's sort of just like if he sees it,
<v Speaker 3>he sees it. I'm sure it will make a ga
<v Speaker 3>jillion dollars.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, but yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I feel I guess I alluded to this in the
<v Speaker 3>first segment, but I do think like Nintendo is losing
<v Speaker 3>his interest. Yeah, yeah, right, It's famously not for kids,
<v Speaker 3>so I guess that track he could.
<v Speaker 1>Just for the old yeah, millennials.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he could.
<v Speaker 1>Just be aging out of it or whatever, and then
<v Speaker 1>something he circles back to.
<v Speaker 5>He'll have a kind of period time there and like yeah,
<v Speaker 5>around that twelve age.
<v Speaker 2>Oh that's why I couldn't play Pokemon because I was
<v Speaker 2>too cool and had to play metal your solid. He's
<v Speaker 2>in that phase. Okay, yeah, okay.
<v Speaker 3>I still think he would take a new Sonic over
<v Speaker 3>a new Man's.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's real fun.
<v Speaker 5>I'm a big Sonic defender. That's disgusting. You need to
<v Speaker 5>talk to him for the movies different That's fine.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm talking about the movie.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry, Dibb has never played a Sonic game, of course,
<v Speaker 3>come on.
<v Speaker 2>That's crazy.
<v Speaker 1>I guess that would not care.
<v Speaker 2>There are a lot of kids that like the Sonic
<v Speaker 2>movies and see him as a movie character and haven't
<v Speaker 2>played the games.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yes, we've had this conversation a few times. But yes,
<v Speaker 3>technology is has he ever seen targeted his wife? He's
<v Speaker 3>definitely Z targeted for sure, But like he A doesn't
<v Speaker 3>think it's novel or interesting, and B is not like
<v Speaker 3>actively searching it out.
<v Speaker 1>I think and all all kidding aside, I really do
<v Speaker 1>think like for people his age, I do think like
<v Speaker 1>Sonic is like got more riz like I think they
<v Speaker 1>I think they mean that's why they made Yeah, people
<v Speaker 1>Sonics cool.
<v Speaker 3>Mario is kind of like the is kind of for
<v Speaker 3>like little baby idiots.
<v Speaker 1>Right, well, what do you look at that way? I
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't know that for it, but it was fine. I
<v Speaker 1>wasn't overly impressed. You look at the movies. I mean
<v Speaker 1>you have Chris Pratt and Chris Pratt.
<v Speaker 2>Is Chris Pratt think Chris Pratt is cool?
<v Speaker 1>No? No, no, I'm saying they think John Ralfhio is
<v Speaker 1>cooler and just has like a better vibe to him.
<v Speaker 1>I always for Ben Schwartz. Sorry, I always been Schwartz, John.
<v Speaker 5>I get it. I get it at thinking of cartoon movies,
<v Speaker 5>I saw Hoppers, the New Picks one over, We gain good.
<v Speaker 1>That's really good. Yeah, that's funny. Uh.
<v Speaker 5>The Teddo's confirmed that its switched to side scroller. Yoshi
<v Speaker 5>and the Mysterious Book were released on May twenty. First
<v Speaker 5>new trailer for this game came out today to celebrate
<v Speaker 5>Mario Day with Just Today March tenth.
<v Speaker 1>Uh. Boy, I'm like I am.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know if I've ever been more cautious about
<v Speaker 5>a video game.
<v Speaker 2>In fact, I don't even think cautious.
<v Speaker 1>Is that?
<v Speaker 7>Like?
<v Speaker 2>I think we just know what this is gonna be.
<v Speaker 2>We've been how many times?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 7>Wait?
<v Speaker 2>Are you a fellow Yoshi's Island fan?
<v Speaker 1>Oh?
<v Speaker 5>I love Yoshi's Island. Okay, and the sequels.
<v Speaker 2>Starting with Yoshi Story, starting with Back on the End
<v Speaker 2>sixty four. Getting disappointed by every new fucking Yoshi platformer.
<v Speaker 2>So I think I've made peace. It's a starfuck situation.
<v Speaker 2>I made peace. I'm not going to get excited about this.
<v Speaker 2>I will play it. I'm sure it'll be fine.
<v Speaker 1>I thought crafted World was like very exciting.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, like the Wii U one and I don't know,
<v Speaker 5>I played through it and nothing about it stuck with me.
<v Speaker 5>It felt like I was just kind of floating through
<v Speaker 5>some experience.
<v Speaker 1>It was the World on fire.
<v Speaker 5>No, that's what I expect from this. Like the art
<v Speaker 5>style looks really cute. It has a bit of that
<v Speaker 5>watercolar watercolor almost uh maybe claimation vibe to it. But
<v Speaker 5>like even the gameplay, I'm like, what is this? It
<v Speaker 5>almost seems more maybe puzzle platformer or I don't know,
<v Speaker 5>I don't think this is the kind of not I
<v Speaker 5>don't know if high auctings the were, but you know,
<v Speaker 5>Yoshi's Island was a challenging, somewhat traditional but just level design,
<v Speaker 5>running and jump been kind of focused two D platformer,
<v Speaker 5>and I don't think that's what YO see them serious
<v Speaker 5>books is to be. It seems it seems you know,
<v Speaker 5>and like, you know, they know what they're doing, but
<v Speaker 5>they've made Yoshi a very young kid targeted franchise now,
<v Speaker 5>and I get why they do that, but it does
<v Speaker 5>make the games less engaging.
<v Speaker 1>Look at this frog now.
<v Speaker 2>Some might say that Island is one of the best
<v Speaker 2>two D platforms of all time.
<v Speaker 5>Of course, absolutely no, it's here to stop us from
<v Speaker 5>saying that. I argue the point, yep.
<v Speaker 3>I'm surprised that this game is not hitting before the movie,
<v Speaker 3>Like I'm surprised that they have are not parlaying them
<v Speaker 3>in a way that you would think you absolutely would
<v Speaker 3>just because Yoshi's a new character in the game in
<v Speaker 3>the movie, and it's like, how do you not draw this,
<v Speaker 3>Like how do you not have these sync up? Maybe
<v Speaker 3>there are other production uh uh intangibles that we're unaware of,
<v Speaker 3>but like, I don't know, it seems like a missed time.
<v Speaker 5>Tendo's never super like, you know, they'll do synergies with
<v Speaker 5>the movie for sure, but you know, in their mind
<v Speaker 5>are already ten Mario and Yoh just some products on
<v Speaker 5>that people will pick up, and that movie is gonna
<v Speaker 5>have a long lifespan. This think comes out first. It's
<v Speaker 5>not like it's totally missing.
<v Speaker 2>Saying hates Money, you got Super Mario, Wonder, Nintendo Switch
<v Speaker 2>two Edition, Bell, Bell Island, bullshit. I mean that's the
<v Speaker 2>big that's the headliner, right.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, I will play again.
<v Speaker 2>I've kind of been looking forward to playing that game again.
<v Speaker 5>Speaking of loving Money, epic is increasing the price of
<v Speaker 5>for Fortnite V bucks in the block pusts announcing this,
<v Speaker 5>they said, the cost of runny Fortnite has gone up
<v Speaker 5>a lot, and we're raising prices to help pay the bills.
<v Speaker 1>But I don't know if I want.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know if I want to talk raise things like,
<v Speaker 5>oh my god, you have the fucking nerve to say that.
<v Speaker 1>Just say that true, Just say that you don't. Don't
<v Speaker 1>say this quote. Do you think we're fucking ass the bills?
<v Speaker 1>That's the quote? Yeh fell.
<v Speaker 3>Just say, just say, no amount of money will ever
<v Speaker 3>be enough. It will never be enough. It does not.
<v Speaker 1>Fucking Fortnite mays eight billion.
<v Speaker 3>Dollars a month. It's never enough. It's never gonna be enough.
<v Speaker 3>Fortnite costs more to fucking run up. Go eat your eat,
<v Speaker 3>eat a butt, eat a butt.
<v Speaker 1>Uh not gonna keep the Yeah, oh I go.
<v Speaker 3>People just like bumming quarters at the bus stop working
<v Speaker 3>for epic.
<v Speaker 1>Chet the fuck out of here.
<v Speaker 5>Nine dollars used to get you one hundred, one thousand
<v Speaker 5>V bucks, Now you get eight hundred. To give you
<v Speaker 5>an example, Uh, the battle Pass, which previously costs a
<v Speaker 5>thousand V bucks, now only costs eight hundred, but completing
<v Speaker 5>it will also only earn the player eight hundred V
<v Speaker 5>bucks instead of a thousand. That doesn't mean that at
<v Speaker 5>least uh, that means the players can unlock the next
<v Speaker 5>battle pass with the rewards from previous one.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, yeah, and this money is not enough, Mike, so
<v Speaker 3>we have to raise the price of this invisible money.
<v Speaker 3>It's just sorry, say the truth. Don't give me this shiit,
<v Speaker 3>Say the fucking truth. Say endless profit. That's what we're after.
<v Speaker 3>It's never enough. Fuck you love epic.
<v Speaker 5>I feel like it's a is this like an interesting
<v Speaker 5>new litmus test for the economy?
<v Speaker 1>Is what it's?
<v Speaker 5>What is the exchange rate on v bucks?
<v Speaker 1>Now?
<v Speaker 5>Oh jesus, what's going on with roebucks? What's happening over there?
<v Speaker 5>So someone let me know. Uh, speaking of money, Nintendo
<v Speaker 5>issuing the US government over tariffs. Oh yeah, this is
<v Speaker 5>this is related to the you know Supreme Court selling
<v Speaker 5>Trump that hey, all those tariffs he did were illegal. Actually,
<v Speaker 5>you know, Trump's trying to still say I got other
<v Speaker 5>ways of doing the terist blah blah blah. But in
<v Speaker 5>the meantime, like a thousand companies are suing to get
<v Speaker 5>money back from that. And this includes Nintendo, which was
<v Speaker 5>really affected by the timing of the tariffs because they
<v Speaker 5>was right when they're getting ready to release Switch to
<v Speaker 5>they delayed pre orders, and that's something they're specifically saying
<v Speaker 5>cost the money was the fact that they had to
<v Speaker 5>delay the pre orders and they had to reconsider if
<v Speaker 5>they were going to launch a thing, and then they
<v Speaker 5>raised a price for accessories and things like that. So yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's pretty interesting to at first it seems like wholl
<v Speaker 5>Nintendo's just going up through the US government. But again,
<v Speaker 5>a lot of companies are right. It's not like Nintendo
<v Speaker 5>is necessarily sticking its neck out here, particularly like they're
<v Speaker 5>they're not in danger of getting targeted in a way of.
<v Speaker 3>No, but I liked what was For example, it's a
<v Speaker 3>pro it's not it's not a protest, it's a it's
<v Speaker 3>an opportunity to recoup value. That's what it is, right,
<v Speaker 3>It's an opportunity to recoup a refund.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, exactly. So that so that's going to be
<v Speaker 5>going through the courts. We'll see how long that all takes.
<v Speaker 5>I bet a long long time, but I bet.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Well, we'll have to pay the US Defense Bill yeah,
<v Speaker 3>of course, and this is great.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah cool cool. I love where all my tax dollars
<v Speaker 1>are going right now? Yeah? Oh brother, Yeah, I'm not
<v Speaker 1>going to pay taxes this year. You can't.
<v Speaker 3>My advice, no you can. It's we're not recommending it.
<v Speaker 3>Do Everyone should pay your taxes. Don't pay your text,
<v Speaker 3>but pay your tax, pay your tax.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just not gonna.
<v Speaker 5>Sega says strong reviews for its recent games aren't yet
<v Speaker 5>translating to better sales. Part of a recent financial result,
<v Speaker 5>Q and A here says the relatively high acclaim of
<v Speaker 5>modern games has not yet translated higher sales, and it's
<v Speaker 5>aiming to improve its marketing and sales practices as a result.
<v Speaker 5>Last eighteen months, saying an Atlas have released a bunch
<v Speaker 5>of games that have scored pretty well, like Shanobi Our
<v Speaker 5>a Vengeance as a Metacritic for eighty seven, two point
<v Speaker 5>museum metacritic of eighty four, that's too low. Metaphor in
<v Speaker 5>Fantasio is a meta crek of ninety four Sonic Racing Crossworld.
<v Speaker 5>It's a meta critic of eighty two that One Day
<v Speaker 5>specified before as being a little bit slower in the
<v Speaker 5>sales front than they expected. I think this is interesting
<v Speaker 5>something I remember. I think something similar with Capcom happened
<v Speaker 5>when and they were turning residueval around at first, where
<v Speaker 5>it's kind of confusing because like Resievil six sold really
<v Speaker 5>well and seven was maybe a little slower. It's like, well,
<v Speaker 5>sometimes the current game is selling based off the reputation
<v Speaker 5>of the previous game, right, so maybe it takes a
<v Speaker 5>little bit to catch up. I better Sega keeps releasing
<v Speaker 5>good games. They'll hit those sales targets like they want to. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>there's probably maybe also a marketing aspect to that as
<v Speaker 5>well that they need to work on.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I hope this doesn't lead to a trend of them, like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, kind of abandoning this good run, this fairly
<v Speaker 1>good run of video games that they've been on, abandoning
<v Speaker 1>that to just try and make a quick buck and
<v Speaker 1>go for something that they think would lead to a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of sales. Because like Schanoby Artivention's great two point Museum, Mike,
<v Speaker 1>you really liked it, Therefore, great Sonic Racing, Eh.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that one I thought. I don't know that one.
<v Speaker 5>I don't like maybe as much as the average critic
<v Speaker 5>on that one, But uh, yeah, Like a metaphor is
<v Speaker 5>interesting because you know huge, I bet that game has
<v Speaker 5>done well. I wonder if Atlas has also maybe shot
<v Speaker 5>themselves in the foot a little bit with the way
<v Speaker 5>with the Persona games, they're like, we released the game,
<v Speaker 5>and then a year later or two years later, it's like,
<v Speaker 5>now here's the super plus version with even more content,
<v Speaker 5>and a lot of people feel burned for buying the
<v Speaker 5>original version.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know if there's a sizeable amount of people
<v Speaker 5>waiting for Metaphor for that reason or something. But who knows.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I guess I never thought that Metaphor could potentially
<v Speaker 1>have that like Deluxe this is the ultimate version with
<v Speaker 1>more story, yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Which, like I don't think it needs to. I think
<v Speaker 5>these games already come out with so much content. I
<v Speaker 5>kind of wrap. I don't love that. Like I never
<v Speaker 5>went back to play percent of five Royality, and everyone's
<v Speaker 5>like it's better. I'm like, yeah, I can't play one
<v Speaker 5>hundred hour game twice. Really, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>It's just a lot uh ea.
<v Speaker 5>Laysoff staff across all Battlefield studios Following the record pricking
<v Speaker 5>Battlefield six launch's laid off a unknow number of visuals
<v Speaker 5>from different Baffeld teams, including employees a Criterion Dice, Ripe
<v Speaker 5>Effects and Motive Studios.
<v Speaker 1>Ig said that.
<v Speaker 5>These the universe being formed, that laborers are taking part
<v Speaker 5>as taking place as part of a realignment across the
<v Speaker 5>Battlefield studios. All the cities are going to remain operational,
<v Speaker 5>although the layoffs will of course impact them. Battlefold six
<v Speaker 5>was the best game of twenty five in the United States,
<v Speaker 5>actually sold a record shattering seven million copies in three days.
<v Speaker 5>It was the best launch ever for a game in
<v Speaker 5>the franchise. Now it does seem like the game has
<v Speaker 5>lost a bit of steam since that incredible launch, so
<v Speaker 5>maybe they're like, well, we needed all those people to
<v Speaker 5>launch this game, not to keep it going, although it
<v Speaker 5>still seems incredibly shitty that you work on the biggest
<v Speaker 5>game of last year and now you are fired for realignment.
<v Speaker 5>Whatever the hell that means.
<v Speaker 1>Sustainable It seems like sustainable behavior.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, so I don't know, that's just that's just
<v Speaker 5>an absolute ton of behte this bullshit.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Battlefield.
<v Speaker 5>They also, of course, for no reason like launched another
<v Speaker 5>attempt at doing a battle royale that nobody played again,
<v Speaker 5>so they keep going to that well with no success.
<v Speaker 5>So no matter how long it's going to be before we
<v Speaker 5>get the Battlefield extraction shooter that people don't really care
<v Speaker 5>about either, because it turns out Battlefield fans want to
<v Speaker 5>play Battlefield. What Yeah, that's wow. Warrior Aware series director
<v Speaker 5>Goro Abbe has left Nintendo grow. Abbe posted on x
<v Speaker 5>that he resigned for the company last month, leaving the
<v Speaker 5>games industrail together. He's going to be joining the Osaka
<v Speaker 5>electro Communication University.
<v Speaker 1>Cool yeah. Abba.
<v Speaker 5>Abbe started as a programmer on Warreland four for the
<v Speaker 5>Game Boy Advanced in nineteen ninety nine. Since then, he's
<v Speaker 5>worked prom mostly on the Warrior series as a director
<v Speaker 5>for games like Why We're a Mega Party Games a GameCube,
<v Speaker 5>Why We're Twisted on GBA all the way up to
<v Speaker 5>the re Since Switch Games, Warriwork, Get It Together, and
<v Speaker 5>Why You Where Move It Dan? You're a Warrioware fan?
<v Speaker 5>Are you like worried about the future of the franchise
<v Speaker 5>or anything like that?
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I.
<v Speaker 2>Like that. I'm happy anytime there's a new warriorwear I
<v Speaker 2>won't say the more recent ones have stacked up to
<v Speaker 2>maybe the older like DS and GBA ones or anything,
<v Speaker 2>but I guess, I mean, if he's worked on all
<v Speaker 2>of these, then obviously he was a big part of
<v Speaker 2>what made those games what they are, so hopefully they
<v Speaker 2>can keep that spirit going forward.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I bet we'll get another Warriwaar game eventually. I
<v Speaker 5>won't wouldn't mind a bit of a break. I think
<v Speaker 5>I think a lot of people really want to see
<v Speaker 5>a Warrior Land again, or even a new a new
<v Speaker 5>something else with Warrio, right, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Something to all those old ones are like, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I always put together these little handhelds and emulation machines
<v Speaker 2>and everything, and they just turn into warriorwear machines. And
<v Speaker 2>it turns out like all those old ones are still
<v Speaker 2>extremely fun and very evergreen, whether it's the GB or
<v Speaker 2>the DS one. So I can always go back to
<v Speaker 2>the old.
<v Speaker 5>Ones, right yeah, Like yeah, just playing normal Warior where
<v Speaker 5>on NSO is actually still kind of a great experience.
<v Speaker 5>I'm almost happy.
<v Speaker 1>Just having that. Uh.
<v Speaker 5>Valve insisted will release the Steam Machine and Steam for
<v Speaker 5>Even twenty twenty six after a blog said it hoped to. So, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>this is the thing where Valve kind of had this
<v Speaker 5>blog post about the Steam Year review toy Tway five
<v Speaker 5>and in it they're like, oh, here's our lineup of
<v Speaker 5>all that announced hardware we announced last year. You know,
<v Speaker 5>there's these memory and shortage storage supplies, but we are
<v Speaker 5>still hoping to ship the stuff. In twy twenty six,
<v Speaker 5>a lot of people freaked out, like.
<v Speaker 1>Hope, what do you mean hope?
<v Speaker 5>Hope?
<v Speaker 1>Hope.
<v Speaker 5>So Valve kind of came out like nothing's changed on
<v Speaker 5>our end and they replaced the word hope and kind
<v Speaker 5>of changed the wording there. But I don't know, you guys, yeah, replaceing.
<v Speaker 5>Let's get people don't like hope these days. Hope has
<v Speaker 5>a negative connotation.
<v Speaker 3>Actually, we've we've replaced the word hope.
<v Speaker 5>I don't know, how are you guys feeling about that
<v Speaker 5>suite of hardware, the control or the Steam Machine. I
<v Speaker 5>want to Steam Frame?
<v Speaker 1>Want it? I want it?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I want it. I'm definitely worried about I'm not
<v Speaker 5>I don't know if I'm worried about the release day
<v Speaker 5>as much as I'm worried about the price. That's the issue.
<v Speaker 5>It's gonna be a lot, no matter what, It's gonna
<v Speaker 5>be a lot, but it could be a lot a
<v Speaker 5>lot because of these shortages, and there's still weird tariff
<v Speaker 5>situations and confusion around that, but especially the shortages, the
<v Speaker 5>RAM stuff. It's gonna be a big issue. And Valve
<v Speaker 5>is now in this sort of unenviable position of kind
<v Speaker 5>of having to navigate these waters before a PlayStation will
<v Speaker 5>have to before Xbox is gonna have to with Helix.
<v Speaker 5>So it's gonna be pretty interesting to see how they
<v Speaker 5>approach us. How much money, if any, they're going to
<v Speaker 5>be willing to lose on the hardware.
<v Speaker 2>Val free tip here, just don't don't make RAM part
<v Speaker 2>of it.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, that's not a bad idea. RAM. Yeah, just
<v Speaker 1>put like the yeah it did, it probably did. It's
<v Speaker 1>pretty good. All kidding aside, I know you're joking, Dan,
<v Speaker 1>I explaining RAM to people who are like over the
<v Speaker 1>age of seventy is awesome, and I reckon everyone does.
<v Speaker 1>I don't.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if I could explain it is it.
<v Speaker 2>That's not the brain. The CPU is the brain, right.
<v Speaker 1>Labor It's a random random access memory. It's like temporary memory. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's confusing.
<v Speaker 5>You have to like read, You have to take a
<v Speaker 5>course in college or two to really understand anything. I've
<v Speaker 5>been listening to books and understand it. Slightly now where
<v Speaker 5>I used to understand it, not at all, but even then,
<v Speaker 5>not really. It's vacant, it's it's it's wild.
<v Speaker 1>It's all switches.
<v Speaker 5>It's all electrical signals that make a one or a zero,
<v Speaker 5>and somehow you get enough of those and you have
<v Speaker 5>a resident evil on your computer.
<v Speaker 1>Why is it just ones and zero's.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like we're just limiting or so many different
<v Speaker 3>we added it to No, no, let's throw in I
<v Speaker 3>don't know, like an exclamation mark.
<v Speaker 1>Or that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love it.
<v Speaker 5>It's like one Jane, that's the news. I'm turning the
<v Speaker 5>show back.
<v Speaker 1>Over to you. Uh. You know friend of the website,
<v Speaker 1>Matt Piscatella, he just posted this on Blue Sky. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>something that Sircana is reporting, And I feel like this
<v Speaker 1>would just be a fun stat to share with everyone,
<v Speaker 1>especially because Dylan may not be into Mario and maybe
<v Speaker 1>Mario's not for the kids. According to this graphic, fifty
<v Speaker 1>percent of people who bought Super Mario licensed products in
<v Speaker 1>twenty twenty five were in households without children.
<v Speaker 2>Wow, yeah, fifty fifty sense it makes experience.
<v Speaker 1>So that also means that maybe Mario gets a little
<v Speaker 1>more adult like.
<v Speaker 3>Zoipe at zero, Mono, finally, jan Finally he lays the pipe.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, I'm just saying, like, would it kill you
<v Speaker 3>to like have Mario grow with his most beloved fida anybody?
<v Speaker 1>What's Yeah, well, you guys are wrong. Can you imagine
<v Speaker 1>if Mario trips in a level he just goes ah fuck,
<v Speaker 1>I mean it just like holds his knee. That'd be fun.
<v Speaker 3>I guess he does that in the first movie. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you know, I don't know. I guess, like I guess,
<v Speaker 3>I'm not like, I guess. I'm not clamoring for like
<v Speaker 3>adult Mario. I just think it's funny that, like everyone
<v Speaker 3>else around him gets progressively older and he's just like
<v Speaker 3>stuck at whatever. Oh no, I'm talking about the fans us.
<v Speaker 5>Always and then those fans he's.
<v Speaker 1>Not McConaughey and dazed and confused, right like, yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Right, I don't I think that. I think what they
<v Speaker 5>got go where Mario is working pretty well right now?
<v Speaker 1>No, I know, I know. But do you think he
<v Speaker 1>still speaks to you?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, you're not the best person. But yes, I'll
<v Speaker 3>I'll do a bit of a non scientific service.
<v Speaker 1>I'm a child and that's important. Mike. You hold onto that.
<v Speaker 8>Yay.
<v Speaker 5>I saw the kids mov last week, and I'll see
<v Speaker 5>another kids movie on on April first, and then Toy
<v Speaker 5>Story fives after that. I think that that's I think
<v Speaker 5>I've only seen kids movies apparently.
<v Speaker 3>This I want to report back. I want to do
<v Speaker 3>a little bit of digging. I'm gonna ask Dib and
<v Speaker 3>some of the friends and just be like, you.
<v Speaker 1>Guys care about like the Mario movie coming out next month,
<v Speaker 1>and like there's a Mario movie coming, and then some
<v Speaker 1>of them will be like two year old.
<v Speaker 2>I was running this weekend and there's a family and
<v Speaker 2>they had their Kurts and all that stuff, and one
<v Speaker 2>of the kids was like walking and you said, I
<v Speaker 2>mean he waved me and he had a Mario kurt
<v Speaker 2>shirt and I said.
<v Speaker 3>Nice and he picked okay, or was just dressed because
<v Speaker 3>he's too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, look, I'm curious, you know, I don't know. I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna show him the latest trailer and just like kick
<v Speaker 3>the times.
<v Speaker 5>But your theory is that Mario is falling out of popularity, right,
<v Speaker 5>that's what you're trying to know.
<v Speaker 3>That is not what I'm saying. I'm just saying for
<v Speaker 3>the for the demo of child that I am raising.
<v Speaker 3>I think perhaps it's like not top of mind that
<v Speaker 3>I still fundamentally believe this movie will make a metric
<v Speaker 3>ton of money from as a result of patronage from
<v Speaker 3>all ages. I just you know, in my little anecdotal experience,
<v Speaker 3>I do think dib is sort of like take it
<v Speaker 3>or leave it?
<v Speaker 1>He could, you know.
<v Speaker 5>As part of that research, I want you to find
<v Speaker 5>out what what is dib and perhaps his colleagues what
<v Speaker 5>is their most what is their biggest concern in terms
<v Speaker 5>of right like?
<v Speaker 1>What is what is?
<v Speaker 5>What is what is the character or ip that they
<v Speaker 5>do think is the best? What is their number one
<v Speaker 5>like when we were kids like turtles?
<v Speaker 1>Right? What is number one? From right about? I think
<v Speaker 1>it will be all over the map, But you're like chapelone.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think that. No, I don't think it's Chapel
<v Speaker 1>so popular. Okay, and then follow up Q to that
<v Speaker 1>back Lauren, then we'll go take a bricky break. If
<v Speaker 1>Mike's done with the news news Okay, all right? Has
<v Speaker 1>Dibb and his colleagues and his cohort consumed that specific
<v Speaker 1>media they're into or have they just seen it in Fortnite.
<v Speaker 5>Oh fuck, answer of the thing they care about the most, right,
<v Speaker 5>Like that might be.
<v Speaker 3>That's why it's so fleeting, Right Like, I do think
<v Speaker 3>a lot of the culture is driven by what has
<v Speaker 3>appeared in Fortnite to some degree, Like he knew what
<v Speaker 3>the Hopper guy.
<v Speaker 5>Like him, we're worried about Fortnite because they can't pay
<v Speaker 5>the bills anymore.
<v Speaker 1>Right time, pour pour one out? I do, yeah, like
<v Speaker 1>he knew the frog from the Hopper movie, because at that.
<v Speaker 5>I think it's more like a blizzard's interesting.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, all right, folks, We're gonna go take a quick
<v Speaker 1>bricky break and we will be back with some emails
<v Speaker 1>and YouTube super chats if we got them right after this.
<v Speaker 1>These are the emails. Yeah, BombCast John bomb dot com
<v Speaker 1>is email dressed. Und your emails too. We've been getting
<v Speaker 1>flooded with emails and I appreciate them. Uh, apologies if
<v Speaker 1>you don't get your email read on the show, but uh,
<v Speaker 1>you know, we try and get through as many as
<v Speaker 1>we can, time permitting. And also thank you for all
<v Speaker 1>the very nice words that people have been sending along.
<v Speaker 1>I have not been doing my best to relay those emails.
<v Speaker 1>General sentiments to these boyos over here, but gang the
<v Speaker 1>heat on the street is generally good too. Great. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so happy that people are enjoying their time with us.
<v Speaker 1>We hope you continue to first email of the show
<v Speaker 1>comes from Phil from Austin. On your most recent talkover
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Indie World, Dan exclaimed link to the past, did
<v Speaker 1>at need DLC? That makes me wonder what if Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>did start releasing DLC for classic games? After all they did,
<v Speaker 1>after all, they did release extra levels for Super Mario
<v Speaker 1>three in Carter reform. Is there a classic game you
<v Speaker 1>would like to see DLC four. I might like to
<v Speaker 1>see extra dungeons added to wind Waker. I know it's
<v Speaker 1>a fan favorite, but I can't help but think it
<v Speaker 1>has some of the weaker dungeons of the three d's
<v Speaker 1>elder games. Parentheses, PS, marry me, Tomadacci rivals some of
<v Speaker 1>my favorite bomb content of all time. You guys are
<v Speaker 1>killing it lately, fist Well, actually a tell of you.
<v Speaker 5>In Japan broadcast they kind of linked to the past,
<v Speaker 5>sort of sequel things. So yeah, you know, even then
<v Speaker 5>there was something kind of like DLC.
<v Speaker 2>They were trying ship. Yeah, the card reader thing. That
<v Speaker 2>e reader is like the most Nintendo way to go
<v Speaker 2>about that for sure. Like even I couldn't get on board.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not buying this thing to play a few levels.
<v Speaker 1>It was hell. It was hell a cool though.
<v Speaker 2>Interesting concept for sure. I think Phil's idea here of
<v Speaker 2>wind Waker. I think there's a He's right about the
<v Speaker 2>dungeons being weaker in wind Waker, but like imagine like
<v Speaker 2>a shadow of the urd Tree type like you know,
<v Speaker 2>Beefy delC of wind Wakers set and like maybe that
<v Speaker 2>high roll from Underwater where it's like you get a
<v Speaker 2>glimpse of like like imagine just that you know, like
<v Speaker 2>remove the ocean elements, which I think is fine.
<v Speaker 5>Just for like a little bit. Yeah, for like this, Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I mean, I like when's dungeons, it just needed like
<v Speaker 5>two more of them, right, So that is a game
<v Speaker 5>that would have really benefited from expansion of some kind. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I think that would have been cool for sure for sure.
<v Speaker 5>But love yeah, yeah, I don't know what some Usually
<v Speaker 5>I'm not really a big fan of the kind of
<v Speaker 5>expansion or DLC. I guess expansion is different, like if
<v Speaker 5>it's like diobolo like to me, like, oh yeah, that
<v Speaker 5>makes sense. Expansion for these from software games that makes sense,
<v Speaker 5>even like Breath with a Lot, which I love, They're
<v Speaker 5>like we added a car and like some new shrines,
<v Speaker 5>I'm like.
<v Speaker 1>I don't do there.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you felt like another like almost a sequel, like
<v Speaker 2>you were saying they have at the Eliza p thing
<v Speaker 2>almost feel like like those, I'll play. But if it's
<v Speaker 2>just like I don't. Here's a couple other things. I
<v Speaker 2>never play those.
<v Speaker 1>I would, uh, like maybe DLC for the original Pokemon games,
<v Speaker 1>for like Red and Blue, like I don't know, maybe
<v Speaker 1>some more gym battles or something like that other Pokemon,
<v Speaker 1>but specifically in that format.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, but that's not what two were, like Scarlett like,
<v Speaker 5>instead of doing like Pokemon Gray or like you know,
<v Speaker 5>the Pokemon Yellow, they do do DLC and we get that,
<v Speaker 5>and again I'm like, I can't imagine engaging with those things.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I think Twisted Metal could add. You know that that's
<v Speaker 2>an easy one. Just introduce a new co.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, yeah, all right, thank you. Phil From Austin,
<v Speaker 1>Simon writes in Hello Bombers, whenever you Midwest boys talk
<v Speaker 1>about cold weather, it makes me realize how different our
<v Speaker 1>countries are. On the last dumb truck. Dan mentioned it
<v Speaker 1>warmed up to a brisk fifty degrees fahrenheit, which was
<v Speaker 1>feeling warm. I'm in Perth, Australia, where our winter average
<v Speaker 1>is about forty six to sixty five men max. It
<v Speaker 1>will very rarely hit thirty to thirty five degrees fahrenheit overnight,
<v Speaker 1>and when it does, it's big news. I genuinely cannot
<v Speaker 1>comprehend the cold temperatures you guys go through over there,
<v Speaker 1>though I hope to experience it one day. Always wanted
<v Speaker 1>to have a snowy Christmas that I grew up with
<v Speaker 1>in the movies instead of swaltering a sweltering hot one.
<v Speaker 1>Is there anything you've heard about other another country's weather
<v Speaker 1>or lifestyle that just blows your mind? How do you
<v Speaker 1>guys fare in hot weather? Of course we have to
<v Speaker 1>deal with hot summers that can be up to eighty
<v Speaker 1>five two one hundred and ten degrees and much hotter
<v Speaker 1>in rural towns that have a cracked one hundred and
<v Speaker 1>twenty two degrees. Keep up the great content of the
<v Speaker 1>site and Pod Simon. I can I can't fathom where
<v Speaker 1>you all live.
<v Speaker 2>I mean I can do the only place that good
<v Speaker 2>I was.
<v Speaker 3>Gonna say, the only place that really blows my mind
<v Speaker 3>where people live is like the northwest Canadian territories or
<v Speaker 3>places where like the winter is just like stuck at
<v Speaker 3>negative fifty fahrenheit like for six months, and they're just
<v Speaker 3>like it's called today and you're like, no, you're good.
<v Speaker 3>How do you do it? I mean, I think that's amazing.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, and then like the you know, there's like
<v Speaker 3>other countries where it's just constantly you know, twelve months
<v Speaker 3>of unbearable Russian winters and stuff like that. Everything else
<v Speaker 3>I think makes sense. I guess I could see how
<v Speaker 3>someone lives in you know, well I can't see how
<v Speaker 3>someone lives in Florida, but I can see how someone
<v Speaker 3>lives in Floridian weather right where, you know, it's just
<v Speaker 3>like that all year round.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's so.
<v Speaker 3>You know, for me, it's like, I what much rather
<v Speaker 3>be cold? Obviously, Like when it warmed up this weekend
<v Speaker 3>and it was like sixty eight degrees, I get I
<v Speaker 3>got mad.
<v Speaker 1>I was like, I'm sixty you know, it's great. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I was just mad.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, oh it's a little warmer if I
<v Speaker 3>know springs coming, I'm a little I'm a little you know,
<v Speaker 3>just to see winter go in such a violent way.
<v Speaker 3>Although I think we're going to get one more week
<v Speaker 3>of like winter temperatures. Yeah, you know that.
<v Speaker 1>That's where I'm at.
<v Speaker 3>But people who live in these like because I love
<v Speaker 3>watching videos of people who are like I have a
<v Speaker 3>cabin in the northwestern Canadian territories that I can only
<v Speaker 3>visit once.
<v Speaker 1>The river freezes.
<v Speaker 3>And when the river freezes, I take my snowmobile out
<v Speaker 3>and I go out there and I have to burn
<v Speaker 3>eleven trees every hour so that I'm survived. And I'm
<v Speaker 3>just like your mother, Your motherfuckers are crazy.
<v Speaker 2>Hey, I could take this type of like Minnesota isn't
<v Speaker 2>like Northwest Canada, col but you will have like long
<v Speaker 2>stretches of negative twenty, negative thirty things like that. And
<v Speaker 2>like the thing is you just if it's zero degrees,
<v Speaker 2>you're not going outside. If it's negative twenty negative thirty,
<v Speaker 2>it's not that different really, you know, unless you're working
<v Speaker 2>outside or something. So it's just like no, you're just
<v Speaker 2>kind of hunkered down. You just make it company in
<v Speaker 2>the house and everything. And I could take that, even
<v Speaker 2>though it is a long winter here and it gets
<v Speaker 2>very cold, I would take that over a place that
<v Speaker 2>gets like regularly over one hundred and humid, Like I
<v Speaker 2>I can't do like super hot, Like I'm not a
<v Speaker 2>fan of that. Like it gets to the mid nineties here,
<v Speaker 2>Like maybe you'll have a day or two that's like
<v Speaker 2>hits one hundred and that's just miserable outside. I can't
<v Speaker 2>imagine regularly sweating through that, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, when I went to Japan two years ago, it
<v Speaker 1>was like during the summer and it was super duper humid.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't realize I could sweat in that many places. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's kind of amazing.
<v Speaker 2>It sucks up your clothes and fucks up the smell,
<v Speaker 2>and like cold is a pain in the ass. You
<v Speaker 2>got to put on all these layers and everything, but
<v Speaker 2>it's like your clothes aren't like fucked up. When you
<v Speaker 2>get back home, you know, you just kind of warm
<v Speaker 2>up and you're not like dealing with the after effects
<v Speaker 2>of it as much, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Mm hmmmmmmm. All right, moving along here, Matt writ sin
<v Speaker 1>with a little tip for folks at home. If you're
<v Speaker 1>a Premium subscriber, Hey, duoters, just wanted to thank you
<v Speaker 1>for taking the time to explain how to use the
<v Speaker 1>RSS feed. Recently, I might be in the minority, but
<v Speaker 1>I prefer watching GB content on my TV because y'all
<v Speaker 1>deserve the biggest and best screen in the house.
<v Speaker 2>Wow.
<v Speaker 1>Thanks, and for me, YouTube is the easiest and most
<v Speaker 1>preferred method of watching your videos. However, as a premium member,
<v Speaker 1>this has one distinct disadvantage. The amazing premium content is
<v Speaker 1>essentially locked to my tablet or phone. Now, with a
<v Speaker 1>power of the RSS feed, I have the Premium video
<v Speaker 1>feed loaded onto my podcast app and I can now
<v Speaker 1>stream it to my TV from my phone.
<v Speaker 3>Now.
<v Speaker 1>I understand that this is probably common knowledge for a
<v Speaker 1>lot of subscribers, but for me, it's a Eureka moment
<v Speaker 1>of the century. So thanks again for explaining the miracle
<v Speaker 1>of modern science to us all. Now you'll have to
<v Speaker 1>excuse me because it's time to watch some Marry Me Tomadaci.
<v Speaker 1>Thanks again, and fuck Ice Matt Matt. Here you go,
<v Speaker 1>you two at home. If your premium subscriber can watch
<v Speaker 1>Marry Me Tomadacci, a new episode of nine lives on
<v Speaker 1>your television screen by using the RSS feed, very easy
<v Speaker 1>to use. I would just add like that's I would
<v Speaker 1>love to have a way for that to not always
<v Speaker 1>be the case where you don't have to maguy way
<v Speaker 1>to do it, so it's, you know, just just if
<v Speaker 1>it helps you feel any better. It's something we are
<v Speaker 1>always thinking about, how do we make that better? Always
<v Speaker 1>thinking about I'm gonna need you boys to look at
<v Speaker 1>a picture here that I've pasted in the email or
<v Speaker 1>I reckon this. Yeah, yes, Matt from Massachusetts, raight say
<v Speaker 1>howdy bombers. With PAX East on the horizon, I wanted
<v Speaker 1>to ask you all, what is the strangest booth you've
<v Speaker 1>ever seen at a convention? For me, it has to
<v Speaker 1>be the booth for Kadella Gaming at PAS East twenty
<v Speaker 1>twenty four. The booth itself was just a larger medallion
<v Speaker 1>you would walk up to scan your badge for a
<v Speaker 1>chance to win a prize. No real games were actually shown.
<v Speaker 1>Turns out it was a stealth campaign for a gaming
<v Speaker 1>section of an upcoming Saudi Arabian city. I've attached the
<v Speaker 1>picture of the actual booth. Have a great day, Matt
<v Speaker 1>from Massachusetts.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't we shoot something there like we were doing like
<v Speaker 2>a tour? Did that actually work up in the trialog?
<v Speaker 2>Or did we just shoot something?
<v Speaker 5>Mightn't the same booth like at the games Calm we
<v Speaker 5>were at. I feel like I remember it.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe no, no man did No Xbox had a thing
<v Speaker 2>where you'd get coins and stuff like that and scan
<v Speaker 2>your coins for prizes.
<v Speaker 1>I think this was there too, maybe.
<v Speaker 2>I mean that would have been like the same year.
<v Speaker 2>I mean that would have tracked Oh right, that was air.
<v Speaker 1>I remember this, Yeah, this gigantic medallion and Dan I
<v Speaker 1>think you and Nikky went up to investigate and we
<v Speaker 1>came with no answers. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it was something shady and weird for sure.
<v Speaker 1>I think one of the weirdest booths was probably uh
<v Speaker 1>one of these. It was probably g fuel at the time,
<v Speaker 1>just like having booth babes and booth dudes like gyrating
<v Speaker 1>and dancing to an floor.
<v Speaker 2>I remember that.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it was always weird, like because like that used
<v Speaker 5>to be the norm, and then there was a few
<v Speaker 5>were like we're still doing that, and they always stuck
<v Speaker 5>out like a sort thumb.
<v Speaker 2>I remember probably like six or something. I mean I
<v Speaker 2>was I was deep in the booth babe era of
<v Speaker 2>E three. I remember going to like the fringes of
<v Speaker 2>you know, maybe Kensha Hall or something like that, and
<v Speaker 2>there was just a fucking like peripheral company was selling
<v Speaker 2>like GameCube peripherals or whatever, like shitty controllers, and they
<v Speaker 2>something about like a fox was their logo or their
<v Speaker 2>name or something. And so they had a bouncy castle
<v Speaker 2>in the middle of the Kentsha Hall or whatever or
<v Speaker 2>not on the fringes. They had a bunch of women
<v Speaker 2>in there and not a lot of clothes thing, and
<v Speaker 2>they pinned foxtails above their butts there, and they had
<v Speaker 2>these girls and they had fox ears on and they
<v Speaker 2>were bouncing around and there was a massive line of
<v Speaker 2>weird dudes waiting to get in there. And you could
<v Speaker 2>take your turn to go in there and try to
<v Speaker 2>grab the foxtails off the girls butts. Oh that's terrible
<v Speaker 2>for GameCube controller company.
<v Speaker 1>I don't get it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I don't know. Big line, biggest line. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Oh that was that Air one mid two thousands, e
<v Speaker 2>threes or something else.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 3>When I used to go to CEES, I would always
<v Speaker 3>have about a half a day to myself where I
<v Speaker 3>would wander the various show floors. If you've never been
<v Speaker 3>to CEES and you're aware of what like an E
<v Speaker 3>three or a uh, you know, packs the size of
<v Speaker 3>that is like Cees makes is like the cost go
<v Speaker 3>to those seven elevens, Like I just can't even like
<v Speaker 3>begin to describe to you just how enormous the Yes,
<v Speaker 3>they have cheap dogs at ces I don't know, I've
<v Speaker 3>never had a hot dog, so I think. So what's
<v Speaker 3>crazy is like you would always find these like booths
<v Speaker 3>were like or you're just like, I don't think this
<v Speaker 3>company understood the assignment, Like I don't think they like
<v Speaker 3>realized what they were supposed to do here, and you
<v Speaker 3>would always like find these like weird little fringy things
<v Speaker 3>and you'd be.
<v Speaker 1>Like, whyn't they they do? What are they in this
<v Speaker 1>hall for? They they sell? It's it's wild.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, I think like that was like the golden
<v Speaker 3>era of just like the most inappropriate uh booth And
<v Speaker 3>you would sort of like you almost went around looking
<v Speaker 3>for things for content because of just how like out
<v Speaker 3>of place and sort of like uh, you know, kind
<v Speaker 3>of bizarre things were. But I yeah, I don't miss
<v Speaker 3>that life that much and having a prop up a
<v Speaker 3>booth that you're not too ber confident and it's got
<v Speaker 3>to be a rough, a rough couple of days.
<v Speaker 5>Jan Jan Jeff Grubs and chat and wants to know
<v Speaker 5>where he should go for tacos.
<v Speaker 1>Well, don't go near Moscone. Leave Moscone. Just go to
<v Speaker 1>Valencia taco specifically, there's so many places. Just go to
<v Speaker 1>the Valencia area and then the first, like Tucker, you see,
<v Speaker 1>it'll be Britas. I'm sorry again, Oh burritos. Oh god,
<v Speaker 1>uh grab, I'll text you a list. I can't. I Actually,
<v Speaker 1>anywhere in the mission is probably good. You might like
<v Speaker 1>El far Alito. I don't fuck with El far Alito
<v Speaker 1>that much. But they own a soccer team in the
<v Speaker 1>Bay Area. That's fun they right, Yeah, one place that's
<v Speaker 1>oh right, let's see. Moving on along U. Speaking about
<v Speaker 1>food suggestions, Chris writes in Hey everyone, the question is
<v Speaker 1>specifically for jan I'll be in Union Square area next
<v Speaker 1>week for work. Do you have any good local recommendations
<v Speaker 1>for places to eat, grab a drink or visit while
<v Speaker 1>I'm there? Love you all, Chris, Chris, Union Square kind
<v Speaker 1>of sucks. The only neat thing there is a Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>store and the cheesecake factory.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's right there in factory Jeff and I love.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, just go there, man, the one we love.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it is, it's the one we adore. We love
<v Speaker 5>that cheesecake matter Dan, Dan and I went to some
<v Speaker 5>weird tourist trap like a bar based around the railcar
<v Speaker 5>thing right after that was fine, Yeah, yeah, that weird bar.
<v Speaker 2>He's Joint is the place to showed Mike Tommy's Joint.
<v Speaker 2>That was one of my main plas.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, Tommy's Joint was really good. And then I mean,
<v Speaker 5>how far away was the tiki Bari went to from Union.
<v Speaker 2>Square Smuggler's Cove that I would say, yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Go to Smutler's Cove. I love that man.
<v Speaker 1>But Chris, what I would suggest go to Chinatown if
<v Speaker 1>you're specifically around Union Square. Chinatown isn't super far. You'll
<v Speaker 1>get great dim sum, great Chinese food, great Vietnamese food,
<v Speaker 1>and then go or specifically go fuck what is it
<v Speaker 1>called Nan King something some of the best fucking Chinese
<v Speaker 1>food I've ever had. But also go to the LiPo
<v Speaker 1>Lounge and get the best Mi tie you'll ever have.
<v Speaker 1>They it's cash only. Go there and get inee briated
<v Speaker 1>and get into a fight in an alley. That's what
<v Speaker 1>I used to do all the time in my early twenties.
<v Speaker 1>So Mike does King House of Nan King is what
<v Speaker 1>it was that there you go, he said.
<v Speaker 5>Jeff says, this hotel's across from that cable car bar.
<v Speaker 5>Oh that's fine. He had a burrito lest night a
<v Speaker 5>Chinatown that was nine dollars and it tasted exactly like
<v Speaker 5>Taco Bell.
<v Speaker 1>That was good. Then grub Actually go to La Tuckeria.
<v Speaker 1>You'll enjoy the burrito. It will be amazing that.
<v Speaker 2>It was always a crowd pleaser when I was on
<v Speaker 2>the West Coast when I would talk about how like, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>Mission burritos are good, but I and I do prefer
<v Speaker 2>the Taco Bell burritos, and oh boy, yeah, oh.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah yeah, I'll do that for the next time
<v Speaker 5>I have to ski up the podcast.
<v Speaker 1>I almost flipped my whole desk, but I know, I know,
<v Speaker 1>I know, I know. It just hurts to me. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>moving on. Last email of the show because I have
<v Speaker 1>to go decompress now comes from ev May. I've turned
<v Speaker 1>to the discord and no one has figured this out yet.
<v Speaker 1>So I've had this track in my head for the
<v Speaker 1>last few days and cannot figure out what it is.
<v Speaker 1>I've scoured my listening history and TV slash movies I've
<v Speaker 1>seen lately, cannot figure it out, so I tried to
<v Speaker 1>create it in garage band. No, I don't remember any words. Yes, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry. Finished. I don't remember the any words or
<v Speaker 1>even the melody, the vocals, just this little loop? Is
<v Speaker 1>this just any song? No? No, no? They ev May
<v Speaker 1>sent in the MP three and I was gonna play
<v Speaker 1>it for y'all so we can know what I'm saying,
<v Speaker 1>like it could be anything. It could be anything. Okay, sorry, Ev,
<v Speaker 1>let's hear it all right, it's sixteen seconds. Let's see
<v Speaker 1>if we can help ev May out.
<v Speaker 2>It's good. I think it's like Kon was like like
<v Speaker 2>a eighties kind of pop sent thing.
<v Speaker 1>I wish, I wish. Can we hear one more time?
<v Speaker 2>The like the dream?
<v Speaker 1>You think it's.
<v Speaker 2>That kind of see that?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, okay, okay, let's let's play it again that.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. Yeah, I like this version.
<v Speaker 1>Uh huh, I don't know. Yeah. I I didn't listen
<v Speaker 1>to it and prior to the show because I was
<v Speaker 1>hoping it would just be a goof. But it seems
<v Speaker 1>like a legitimate ask.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I don't know. I got nothing.
<v Speaker 3>Well, I don't know if we were really expected no offense, Mike.
<v Speaker 1>It was just whoa you can know what? Boy?
<v Speaker 5>When while when Dan showed me pop Star, He's like, Oh,
<v Speaker 5>it'll be so funny if artist shows up, if we
<v Speaker 5>make Mike say if he knows it or not. I
<v Speaker 5>was like, all right, and then of course I knew
<v Speaker 5>all of them because they're very.
<v Speaker 2>Oh you didn't know all of them, you do, like
<v Speaker 2>Mariah Carey and Ringo.
<v Speaker 5>Star like almost all of that where you got or
<v Speaker 5>like you got like you were like, all right, Mike,
<v Speaker 5>we get it.
<v Speaker 1>You know them.
<v Speaker 5>You're like you thought I was disrupting the movie and
<v Speaker 5>I was like, no, you.
<v Speaker 8>Told being the same I know them or not? I
<v Speaker 8>tell you, Oh that is thirty You're insane. That's not
<v Speaker 8>what happened. It was like eighty percent down visionist history.
<v Speaker 1>Chan you were there, say something. You knew every You
<v Speaker 1>knew pretty much everyone. It was maybe like the occasional
<v Speaker 1>like artist, like was am I imagining that? T?
<v Speaker 2>I was in that look and T is in it.
<v Speaker 2>Pharrell is the Roots the road to quest Love, Quest.
<v Speaker 1>Love, and you were Roots and Quirse.
<v Speaker 3>Love because of Fallon and that disqualifies you, Mike.
<v Speaker 1>Oh what do you want me to do?
<v Speaker 2>Right at It's like Snoop Dogg. It's like ever my
<v Speaker 2>mom knows Snoop Dogg.
<v Speaker 1>You know, Okay, you didn't say like that.
<v Speaker 3>He still gets the points. Wait when did you watch
<v Speaker 3>pop Star?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 5>One of the knights.
<v Speaker 1>Oh you went home, so it's like not a backlers,
<v Speaker 1>we can have fu. I was.
<v Speaker 5>Eating so many bagels.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, ah, god, pop Star? What a fuck?
<v Speaker 2>It's incredible.
<v Speaker 1>It's right, Uh, Connor for real? Great, great, great for real?
<v Speaker 1>Uh folks, that about does it. For emails, BombCast john
<v Speaker 1>bomb dot com is the email address send your emails too.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you everyone for writing in your emails. It really
<v Speaker 1>helps boost morale and I try and relay the messages.
<v Speaker 1>If you have anything specific to say to anyone's or whatever,
<v Speaker 1>I will try and forward that over. Mister Manatti. Do
<v Speaker 1>we got any YouTube super chests? Yes?
<v Speaker 5>Uh migsy, says Mike Manaudi. Is there a new Sega
<v Speaker 5>Dreamcast calendar this year?
<v Speaker 1>No? Last year.
<v Speaker 5>I had my Sega hardware calendar. They didn't make a
<v Speaker 5>new fun one this year that I saw, so I'm
<v Speaker 5>actually just using the annual past order calendar I got
<v Speaker 5>from Disney. So that right there is that's the orange Bird.
<v Speaker 5>He was a kind of mascot created by Disney and
<v Speaker 5>the State of Florida to promote the orange farming industry.
<v Speaker 5>So that's the orangebird. They're harvesting some oranges. That's what
<v Speaker 5>I got from March at the moment. Uh, mixy, says
<v Speaker 5>Dan Reikert. Have you watched Bill and Ted yet?
<v Speaker 1>No?
<v Speaker 2>I have not watching Phantom Threat tonight, which I've heard
<v Speaker 2>is very similar.
<v Speaker 5>Very similar movie. Yeah, yeah, I think Napoleon's and both
<v Speaker 5>of them. Steven Beatty says, first part here, you're coming
<v Speaker 5>up on a year of Giant bomb independence. I bought
<v Speaker 5>a year there and then when you nust it at PAX.
<v Speaker 5>What I like to know is what's the monthly or yearly?
<v Speaker 5>Don't give me, Oh, we appreciate your support, tell me
<v Speaker 5>what you prefer you cours, because I fucking love you guys, Smith.
<v Speaker 2>We prefer right.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, well, if the question is what gives us
<v Speaker 3>more money, the answer is monthly.
<v Speaker 1>And you and just paying monthly indefinitely. Uh.
<v Speaker 3>That is the just transparent answer. So if that's what
<v Speaker 3>the If that's the answer you're looking for, there it is.
<v Speaker 3>But however you wish to support is more than appreciate it.
<v Speaker 5>There you go, Mixy's back with a few here, Jan
<v Speaker 5>Will the Giant bomb packs be recorded premium? Question mark?
<v Speaker 1>Generally we we will grab the stream and flip that around,
<v Speaker 1>so most and not just premium, those usually free? Yeah, everyone, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I gotta I gotta ask our our friends there. But
<v Speaker 3>I believe they are recorded regardless.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, the maybe main staged one may be a little
<v Speaker 1>bit of a challenge, but I think they should be
<v Speaker 1>equipped to record that for us as well.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, there's a there's a different wrinkle to the whole
<v Speaker 3>thing this year that will learn when we get there,
<v Speaker 3>and we'll message out how that's gonna work for streaming.
<v Speaker 5>Uh. Next up, Migsy asks Jeff Backler, will you ever
<v Speaker 5>green light the wolf for GBS. I'm sorry what I
<v Speaker 5>thought you would know? The wolf for Game Boy I
<v Speaker 5>assume GBC means game.
<v Speaker 1>Boy Color game. I don't know what that is, Sadly,
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry. Okay, the wolf.
<v Speaker 5>It sounded like you will not green light the wolf
<v Speaker 5>for game Boy Color.
<v Speaker 1>Then are you're saying wolf?
<v Speaker 5>Right?
<v Speaker 1>W O l F the wolf? Okay? I was hearing wolf,
<v Speaker 1>like I understand.
<v Speaker 5>I was in I was in a speech class work
<v Speaker 5>on my l it's too mumble something. Yeah, yeah, I
<v Speaker 5>got a problem.
<v Speaker 1>Was okay? Somebody asked about Dune soon? Yes, okay, we'll
<v Speaker 1>get we'll get to it. We'll get to it, right,
<v Speaker 1>so right, okay, sorry, man just made me think of that.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, okay, I don't I haven't seen any clarification in
<v Speaker 5>chat about what the wolf can.
<v Speaker 3>Be be more specific. I feel bad chatter.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 5>It's okay, Bigs has got another one here, Peeps is
<v Speaker 5>done worth watching? Is it complete?
<v Speaker 1>Now? Mike? Can you do your best Dune? Yell?
<v Speaker 2>Microphone is gonna get so fucked up?
<v Speaker 1>Are people? Are people gonna say it's racist or something?
<v Speaker 1>I do it.
<v Speaker 2>I guess we'll find out depending on how you.
<v Speaker 1>Do it, all right.
<v Speaker 5>I've always seen like that one do movie one time?
<v Speaker 5>Can you play it against yes?
<v Speaker 1>Yes, oh that sounds racist?
<v Speaker 5>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Do it? Can you do it as a panel? Then
<v Speaker 1>I do it now for you. I'll do it because
<v Speaker 1>now Dan's right. I'm scared that it's gonna get eaten
<v Speaker 1>up by your microphone. It won't beautiful, no, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>but it's great. It was perfect. Go watch Dune. I
<v Speaker 1>like Dune Part two.
<v Speaker 2>I like I like them both. I think I prefer
<v Speaker 2>the first one a little more.
<v Speaker 1>Dave Batista is getting acting work, and I support anything
<v Speaker 1>that man is in. Yeah, feel bad.
<v Speaker 5>For everyone in Doom. Seems like it sucks to be
<v Speaker 5>in the Dune worlds.
<v Speaker 1>That's all right, it's not real. Don't worry, just like
<v Speaker 1>a real.
<v Speaker 5>But Mike on Drum says, then Mike sez he will
<v Speaker 5>Requiem story expansion ounce. I did not see that. I
<v Speaker 5>looked into it, so yeah, he just like said it's coming.
<v Speaker 5>Uh the director, here's play that. Well, that's the So
<v Speaker 5>all the Resident Evil games, they always get some kind
<v Speaker 5>of dealc. As much as I love them, I never
<v Speaker 5>play those. It's sometimes you hear like there's some of
<v Speaker 5>them are good. Yeah, there's a Residval seventy one where
<v Speaker 5>your grandpa who punches people. That's supposed to be good.
<v Speaker 2>Speaking of that, let me ask the chat right now, because, uh,
<v Speaker 2>because Grub is out tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm not gonna be
<v Speaker 2>able to start my blight club. But since I've got something,
<v Speaker 2>I'm looking down the barrel with something tough, I get
<v Speaker 2>to play a d light club. So I was gonna
<v Speaker 2>play Beautiful Joe too, because I've never played it quick
<v Speaker 2>in formal to no, because I remember I think I
<v Speaker 2>didn't get as good reviews to the first one. I
<v Speaker 2>love the first one, but would people rather see me
<v Speaker 2>play that reson seven DLC where You're a bunch of alligators?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, because I think that that's.
<v Speaker 2>I'm curious about that. So maybe I'll call an audible
<v Speaker 2>so disregard to the schedule. Changed something there?
<v Speaker 1>I like that, swap it?
<v Speaker 2>Ok, okay, maybe I won't play that.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I think I've heard mixed things about the Rose
<v Speaker 5>DLC for a fine, it's fine, I love it, And
<v Speaker 5>then like four has separate ways of course, and that's
<v Speaker 5>that's good. So I wonder what this will be. I
<v Speaker 5>don't know if you guys have noticed, but like all
<v Speaker 5>the the resident evil fandom is in a tizzy because
<v Speaker 5>really you could see you can see Leon's got a
<v Speaker 5>wedding ring maybe, and everyone's all like, well, who the
<v Speaker 5>fuck is he married to?
<v Speaker 1>So maybe that are they mad that Leon isn't married
<v Speaker 1>to them? Well, some of them are that.
<v Speaker 5>And then some of them have very specific ideas about
<v Speaker 5>who he should be married too, and then they fight
<v Speaker 5>with other people who do. But what if well, some
<v Speaker 5>people want some people want that. Some people what Claire.
<v Speaker 5>Some people wanted to be characters that you knew when
<v Speaker 5>they were children, and other people are like, that's weird,
<v Speaker 5>don't do.
<v Speaker 3>That, And yeah, that's kind of weird that it's good
<v Speaker 3>that these people exist, because I do need to like
<v Speaker 3>envy people's problem.
<v Speaker 1>You know what you think? People said? If I start
<v Speaker 1>wearing a wedding ring and I just don't tell anyone.
<v Speaker 2>It's a good bit. Yeah, it's a good bit.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, people, there there'll be threads like, oh, yeah, who's
<v Speaker 1>Jane's married to the streets. That's who he's married to.
<v Speaker 1>That's right back.
<v Speaker 3>Exactly, I think, Yeah, man, to have those problems, what
<v Speaker 3>a dream?
<v Speaker 7>You know?
<v Speaker 3>Uh?
<v Speaker 1>I feel bad. I didn't get to talk about Resident Evil.
<v Speaker 1>Well we talked about in the review, but.
<v Speaker 3>I was I was a little sticky poo last week,
<v Speaker 3>so I didn't. I didn't get to talk to It's good, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>you should do it.
<v Speaker 1>Spoiler cast.
<v Speaker 5>Sometimes I want to maybe talk about Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So okay, let's unpack that just for a wee minute here.
<v Speaker 3>When you talk about it's just story spoilers, like.
<v Speaker 5>Mechanical things, like some things that happens towards the end
<v Speaker 5>the game, right, like because there's some surprises, some mechanical stuff,
<v Speaker 5>or just like this section of the game at the end,
<v Speaker 5>like in where it takes place.
<v Speaker 3>I think Resident Evils probably like a top five series
<v Speaker 3>of all time for me, like without a doubt.
<v Speaker 1>Yet I know maybe seven percent of the lore.
<v Speaker 3>It just doesn't resonate with me in a way that
<v Speaker 3>means anything. So I have that interesting kind of like
<v Speaker 3>relationship with the series. But uh but yeah, okay, I
<v Speaker 3>feel like if I had every little story.
<v Speaker 1>Beat spoiled to me in front of Requiem, it would
<v Speaker 1>have changed.
<v Speaker 2>Absolutely not for me.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah right. I don't agree with this chat that I
<v Speaker 1>see here saying that Ada is out of his league. Ada,
<v Speaker 1>A'm so lucky to be.
<v Speaker 5>It's just because Ada is like kind of mean and
<v Speaker 5>like it's sexy. Everyone's like, he is allowed to be
<v Speaker 5>a terrorist. I think she's hot.
<v Speaker 1>I mean that's an opinion.
<v Speaker 3>Look, you know what now that she's saying, you know
<v Speaker 3>now that you Sun that allowed to be.
<v Speaker 2>A terrorist is a hilarious What.
<v Speaker 5>The community is like, they like it's fine.
<v Speaker 3>I do think Leon is like a phrasing terrorist though,
<v Speaker 3>I do think Leon like says some of the most
<v Speaker 3>remarkably stupid shit where I'm just like, bitch, shut up,
<v Speaker 3>to shut your stupid handsome face and just like shoot gun.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, this isn't a spoiler, but it is incredible. Like
<v Speaker 5>the crux of that, Gabe is that there's this twenty
<v Speaker 5>two year old FBI agent and her her boss is like, hey,
<v Speaker 5>remember that creepy hotel where your mother was murdered in
<v Speaker 5>front of you?
<v Speaker 1>Someone else has been murdered there. Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>I know that you're emotionally distant. It seemed very uh touchy,
<v Speaker 5>but you're going allowed.
<v Speaker 2>To an best not a field agent at all.
<v Speaker 5>Like I was like, I was kind of waiting to
<v Speaker 5>find out that the FBI director whatever was a zombie.
<v Speaker 5>Like he's.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, she I don't know, I don't know what
<v Speaker 3>she's qualified to do based off like everything she says.
<v Speaker 5>He's qualified to stutter the first word of a sentence,
<v Speaker 5>which he does very well.
<v Speaker 1>Actually every time she does it. I like it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, So it's like, what do you mean I can't
<v Speaker 5>go in there. I'm like, yeah, she's scared. I like it.
<v Speaker 1>Fucking bugs bunny.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's kind of a bugs bunny voice.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Uh Biggsy has given us. Okay, we I gotten some
<v Speaker 5>suffer to help with that one. The Wolf is specifically
<v Speaker 5>iPads Wolf and GBC.
<v Speaker 1>It's not the.
<v Speaker 5>Game Boy color, it's the Giant BombCast naked.
<v Speaker 1>Mike.
<v Speaker 2>I also thought game Boy color.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well obviously game Boy color. All right, Niggsy, you're
<v Speaker 3>paying you're paying us to write these in.
<v Speaker 1>Don't be so cold.
<v Speaker 5>So the super chat you're only allowed to write as
<v Speaker 5>much as you tip for, so you have to use
<v Speaker 5>a preview, I don't think. But to get like like
<v Speaker 5>twenty character Yeah exactly, that is.
<v Speaker 3>That's like cool and dark at the same time. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>I gotta help us pay the bills. Yeah so John, No,
<v Speaker 3>John's back from Japan. I I spoke to John this weekend.
<v Speaker 1>Wait. First off, John's been on BombCast before, and I
<v Speaker 1>think he's been on the BombCast, He's been on the
<v Speaker 1>Power BombCast, and we've had him on the Dump Truck.
<v Speaker 1>Oh maybe it's the dump I'm thinking of. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I think John would be into it.
<v Speaker 3>And also I don't know does John deserve it?
<v Speaker 1>WHOA take your issues with him being cool dad out
<v Speaker 1>of the equation. Hey, this is a look.
<v Speaker 3>Perhaps perhaps there's a there's some truth to that. Perhaps
<v Speaker 3>I am a little resentful about John being the cool
<v Speaker 3>dad that my son never had. That's a demon for
<v Speaker 3>me to exercise.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, I would if John wants to come on
<v Speaker 1>the Giant Bomb cast. John's more than we.
<v Speaker 2>All right, there we go.
<v Speaker 5>I do want to hear about his Tokyo Disneyland experiences.
<v Speaker 5>So yes, I have one more here, and it is
<v Speaker 5>from Rio Raku Dan. Who's the core dude salt steak
<v Speaker 5>or Walauigi solid Snake. Yeah, I mean, I don't know
<v Speaker 5>if cool.
<v Speaker 2>I'm fascinated with Wallaweigi the way I'm fascinated with like
<v Speaker 2>Marty Supreme. He's just like this weird easy worker, you know,
<v Speaker 2>like like solid that's a cool fucking dude. I want
<v Speaker 2>to see Hm shoots some bad guys, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Walawigi would also get someone knocked up and then
<v Speaker 1>immediately leave to go play ping pong.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Waaluigi would have sex with Gwyneth Palultrone shower to
<v Speaker 2>steal her necklace.
<v Speaker 1>That was a fake necklace.
<v Speaker 3>Right now, walawug does appear to be chronically directed by.
<v Speaker 2>A saft safe curred here's a good time.
<v Speaker 1>I think yeah, great, fantastic, Yeah, any more super chats.
<v Speaker 1>Mikey looks like we're all caught up. Thank you so much, everybody,
<v Speaker 1>Thank you everyone, boys. What do we got going on
<v Speaker 1>the rest of this week? Games Morning's popping off Wednesday?
<v Speaker 1>Thursday Friday. I believe Mikey's gonna host tomorrow's EP because
<v Speaker 1>Greb will still be in San Francisco for g DC.
<v Speaker 1>We have a delight club. I think we may call
<v Speaker 1>an audible.
<v Speaker 2>We're downloading End of Zoe right now. The RI seven
<v Speaker 2>DLC punch Alligators so audible. It was Beautiful Joe on
<v Speaker 2>the thing. I still want to play Beautiful Joe to
<v Speaker 2>at some point, but this seems timely. I want to
<v Speaker 2>play this.
<v Speaker 1>You know what. You know what, Dan, I think you've
<v Speaker 1>earned both. Thank you. You know what.
<v Speaker 2>I got some tough stuff ahead. I gotta play a
<v Speaker 2>bad game, you know, janefs determinate amount of time, So
<v Speaker 2>let me have some fun beforehand.
<v Speaker 5>Do you know do you realize that the Blightening Round
<v Speaker 5>started in November?
<v Speaker 1>Jesus Christ, Well you're supposed to finish a quick.
<v Speaker 2>Let'm just ask you this my Blighting Round game. Do
<v Speaker 2>you suspect it will be an actual blightening round.
<v Speaker 5>Well, according to the same metrics you use, Yes for
<v Speaker 5>your research and also grubs research what Yes, Grub on
<v Speaker 5>the line too. No, Grub did what he did for you.
<v Speaker 5>He told me I had this one.
<v Speaker 2>Hmmm, that's missake all.
<v Speaker 1>Right tomorrow, Yes, can I tease this dream? Don't you?
<v Speaker 1>Don't tease it, just say it.
<v Speaker 3>Here's here's the real life truth, folks. We're finally doing
<v Speaker 3>We're finally doing it. The crazy bastards are doing it.
<v Speaker 3>Abby Russell and myself we'll be doing a co op
<v Speaker 3>keyboard build stream. I'm actually gonna rebuild one of my
<v Speaker 3>own personal keyboards, and Abby is going to build her
<v Speaker 3>own brand spanking new keyboard that was gifted to us
<v Speaker 3>by the fine folks at Kinetic Labs, a wonderful New
<v Speaker 3>Jersey based keyboard online retailer, and we actually are gonna
<v Speaker 3>have like an affiliate code you could use to help
<v Speaker 3>support Giant Bomb. You just use the code JERF. We'll
<v Speaker 3>put that on screen tomorrow as well. But that'll be
<v Speaker 3>what five thirty Eastern time Wednesday. We are going to
<v Speaker 3>build some keyboards and it's going to be it's gonna
<v Speaker 3>hopefully be all the ASMR dreams and delights that you
<v Speaker 3>possibly could want out of a stream.
<v Speaker 1>So's it'll be a lot of fun.
<v Speaker 3>Be fun to hang out with that be tomorrow and
<v Speaker 3>Jan you'll be there too, Yes, I'll be there as well.
<v Speaker 1>A new episode of Nine Lives after this.
<v Speaker 5>Wow, while we're teasing things, uh, is it time to
<v Speaker 5>tease what we're going to be up to next week?
<v Speaker 5>Fun little going on?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Oh okay, okay, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Well week from yesterday, right, we have so many things
<v Speaker 3>going up, mikey tell the folks at home.
<v Speaker 5>Yes, our friends at Lego Party actually want us to
<v Speaker 5>check out some new stuff coming to that game, and uh,
<v Speaker 5>they specifically wanted us to check it out in a
<v Speaker 5>couch multiplayer game capacity.
<v Speaker 1>So I love it.
<v Speaker 5>The Chef's going to be coming up to my place,
<v Speaker 5>of course, but I've also have recruited the other Minate
<v Speaker 5>Brothers to help fill out that match. So yeah, we're
<v Speaker 5>going to be checking out new stuff for Lego Party.
<v Speaker 5>I think we're gonna have some an opportunity to give
<v Speaker 5>away the game as well.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, a handful of codes for new subscribers. That'll be
<v Speaker 3>a lovely event next Monday, Yeah, Mike, So.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'm excited. I love Lego Party, so I'm excited
<v Speaker 5>to play some more of it and show my brothers
<v Speaker 5>what's up. I can't wait to see my uh order
<v Speaker 5>brother's reaction video to losing to me at Lego Party.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, all right.
<v Speaker 3>He's really finding every opportunity for premium folks.
<v Speaker 1>We also have Marry Me Tomadacci coming up on this
<v Speaker 1>Thursday as well, Voicemail, dumb Truck before that, you p
<v Speaker 1>this Friday, and the boys are gonna go try and
<v Speaker 1>get some titters in the bank. I mean, this is
<v Speaker 1>the run, come on, that's what we started calling it eternally. No,
<v Speaker 1>I can't have watched Look you can't have is better
<v Speaker 1>than it's any This is the run. It's a bad day.
<v Speaker 1>Like it.
<v Speaker 2>People like it.
<v Speaker 8>It's descriptive and it echoes our other brand.
<v Speaker 1>I don't get what's a home run?
<v Speaker 8>And I didn't.
<v Speaker 5>To be clear, I did not name that launch look
<v Speaker 5>all right? I think Jane did because he agrees with me.
<v Speaker 5>Or what's to a piece?
<v Speaker 1>This is? This is a bad idea. I changed the stream.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't do that. You didn't do plade? Who named
<v Speaker 1>a look? I don't know? Maybe who is changed Jane.
<v Speaker 2>Grubber straungely anti launched look wouldn't have been us.
<v Speaker 1>I think kind of makes more sense. It sounds shitty,
<v Speaker 1>don't be honest, history with his back look, why is
<v Speaker 1>it so bad? But also I think long look is
<v Speaker 1>just funnier.
<v Speaker 2>Look is funnier. It sounds better.
<v Speaker 5>To be clear, it's not funny. We can call it that,
<v Speaker 5>but it's no one's laughing.
<v Speaker 2>Someone said, first look, one's like Chuck first look today,
<v Speaker 2>that first looks better than like everything is better than launch.
<v Speaker 5>We can't do because like what the people like, launch
<v Speaker 5>look is too much like quick look, which it's supposed
<v Speaker 5>to be. They're very similar to things. But you can't
<v Speaker 5>look that's even more like that's well, apparently it's a problem.
<v Speaker 1>The problem is funny. Long look is funny because it's
<v Speaker 1>actually a longer look at the game.
<v Speaker 5>It's it's more descriptivepiness than an hour long look at
<v Speaker 5>that thing.
<v Speaker 1>But that was a question, Yeah, and that's been the joke.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think you could name a restaurant Titters?
<v Speaker 3>Though, yeah, you can't, Like you'd be like, oh, that's
<v Speaker 3>not a Martinitaville anymore, it's a Titters.
<v Speaker 1>Now the Hooters exactly. Well, since Jeff Greb is still
<v Speaker 1>out on assignment over here in San Francisco at g
<v Speaker 1>DC UH, we may call in our own special lifeline
<v Speaker 1>for this is the run and it'll be a great time.
<v Speaker 1>It will be a very very grand time. Titter Also, Gang,
<v Speaker 1>we said at the top of the show, we're going
<v Speaker 1>to be at Packs East, but that is not the
<v Speaker 1>only thing happening with Pax East. We're getting way to
<v Speaker 1>two pairs of two tickets between now and then. And
<v Speaker 1>if your premium subscriber, where we got a code for
<v Speaker 1>fifteen percent off of your Packs East cart can't be
<v Speaker 1>applied to codes or stuff that's already been bought, but
<v Speaker 1>that code will be posted in the behind the scenes
<v Speaker 1>channel on the premium section of the Discord. Boys. I
<v Speaker 1>think that's it. I think we got to get on
<v Speaker 1>out of here. M all right, yeah, all right here.
<v Speaker 1>The character your made be Buster Scrugs. Was that what
<v Speaker 1>it was?
<v Speaker 2>Now that's a Netflix Coen Brothers movie. There was a
<v Speaker 2>super smooth scoop dunbar.
<v Speaker 1>How did I get Buster Shrugs?
<v Speaker 2>That's a good question.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, we just had another We had another super chat
<v Speaker 3>come on from see Brahma snack money for the lego
<v Speaker 3>pee you on.
<v Speaker 6>Thank you, folks.
<v Speaker 1>That doesn't for the drive Popcus. He's been Jeff, he's
<v Speaker 1>been dead, he's been Mike, I've been jan We'll see
<v Speaker 1>you next week, bar another Bruno.
