<v Speaker 1>All right, everybody, tonight's episode of Wrestle Magic, we're going
<v Speaker 1>to be giving a review. Two that's are known company's
<v Speaker 1>pay per view that we have watched recently. It's free
<v Speaker 1>on YouTube if anybody wants to join in and see
<v Speaker 1>it as well. Kings of Colisseum two from Major League Wrestling,
<v Speaker 1>and of course joining me tonight will be the Gardner,
<v Speaker 1>Michael gross Garner. How you doing then?
<v Speaker 2>I'm doing fantastic, my nephew. How's the UK treating you?
<v Speaker 2>It's fridgid over here in Louisville. It's about twenty six degrees.
<v Speaker 2>We've got the snow melting, but now we've got a
<v Speaker 2>whole new front coming in. Thank you Snowstorm Blair for
<v Speaker 2>all of that. But what's your snow situation? Your temperature
<v Speaker 2>situation like over there, my friend.
<v Speaker 1>That's more close to forty degrees, I would say, we
<v Speaker 1>don't really have any snow, but the fog and just
<v Speaker 1>the dismal, cloudy weather. You know, it can really affect
<v Speaker 1>us out here. And for anybody listening that is from
<v Speaker 1>the UK, some vitamin D pills or something. Man, we're
<v Speaker 1>in for that on haul of kind of that depression.
<v Speaker 1>So do what you gotta do get through it. But anyways,
<v Speaker 1>back on topic, So MLW. I haven't really heard too
<v Speaker 1>much about this company, Michael, I know you know more
<v Speaker 1>about them, So why don't you introduce the audience and
<v Speaker 1>tell me a little bit more about it as well.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So MLW was founded by Court Bauer, who was
<v Speaker 2>a former writer and producer for WWF, WWE, whatever you
<v Speaker 2>want to call it back in the day. I was
<v Speaker 2>actually founded in two thousand and two. The reason I
<v Speaker 2>discovered MLW is because back in two thousand and two
<v Speaker 2>I wanted to see where a bunch of ECW alumni went.
<v Speaker 2>And it turns out that Joey Styles was doing commentary
<v Speaker 2>for MLW because he believed it was the most legit
<v Speaker 2>product that was out there as opposed to XPW, CZW,
<v Speaker 2>so on and so forth. Well, then the company stopped. It
<v Speaker 2>ceased operations for many years, I think like ten twelve
<v Speaker 2>years something like that, and then came back out. Actually
<v Speaker 2>it was maybe shorter than that, maybe ten years. It
<v Speaker 2>didn't have a large tenure. I know a lot of
<v Speaker 2>ECW alumni had wrestled there. I know Steve Krino was
<v Speaker 2>part of a group called the Extreme Horsemen. I know
<v Speaker 2>that Dusty Rhodes had made an appearance there. CW Anderson
<v Speaker 2>I think has been exclusively there, so ceased operations and
<v Speaker 2>then came back about in twenty seventeen. Now here's what's
<v Speaker 2>very interesting about MLW, back before Triller bought Fight TV,
<v Speaker 2>and you could still watch a lot of free independent
<v Speaker 2>wrestling on Fight TV. In twenty I think twenty nineteen,
<v Speaker 2>I wrote my first article for WWE podcast dot com,
<v Speaker 2>my first or second article might have been my second article,
<v Speaker 2>and I was talking about British wrestling and WWE the
<v Speaker 2>NXTUK product, and I was asking my question of the
<v Speaker 2>whole article was what was wrong with it? And the
<v Speaker 2>answer was that we didn't have enough viewers to actually
<v Speaker 2>support the WWEE nxt UK product. So in it I
<v Speaker 2>talked about how basically my wrestling week was watching Raw
<v Speaker 2>or catching highlights from it, depending on my work schedule,
<v Speaker 2>and then I would watch.
<v Speaker 3>On Fight TV.
<v Speaker 2>I would watch one hour of Ring of Honor and
<v Speaker 2>one hour of MLW and maybe some NXT because it
<v Speaker 2>still was a lot of star power in NXT. And
<v Speaker 2>then I even wrote that I was guilty of not
<v Speaker 2>watching enough NXT UK, so that's how I got back
<v Speaker 2>into MLW. Now when I did, a lot of interesting
<v Speaker 2>things have happened between then and now, especially with the
<v Speaker 2>birth of AEW. This is a little history, so police
<v Speaker 2>folks understand that where I'm coming from right now is
<v Speaker 2>actually explaining why you.
<v Speaker 3>Haven't seen MLW.
<v Speaker 2>So MLW made a lot of bad content television contracts
<v Speaker 2>once Triller bought Fight and it couldn't be broadcast for
<v Speaker 2>free anymore the broadcasting rights.
<v Speaker 3>Of course, there was some YouTube stuff.
<v Speaker 2>There's always going to be YouTube stuff, but then it
<v Speaker 2>went into BN and do Zone DAZN and they lost
<v Speaker 2>rights on both at that point when AW came about.
<v Speaker 2>This is this is very interesting that this is all
<v Speaker 2>happens at the same time that AW comes about. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>there was the big giant talent raid, so every indie
<v Speaker 2>and every major star that might be in a smaller
<v Speaker 2>promotion like MLW was raided. MLW was raided blind, So
<v Speaker 2>they had people like low Key, they had MJF, they
<v Speaker 2>had Yeah, MJF was there, Brian Pillman Jr.
<v Speaker 3>Davey Boyce Smith Jr.
<v Speaker 2>There was a whole bunch of most of their main
<v Speaker 2>events seen and major players were Alexander Hammerstone, who's with TNA. Now,
<v Speaker 2>all these people were raided, and then there was a
<v Speaker 2>giant lawsuit. It was called the contract tampering lawsuit. Now,
<v Speaker 2>there was two things that happened during this period, and
<v Speaker 2>I promise I'll keep this history lesson a bridge, folks,
<v Speaker 2>But there's two things that happened during this this this
<v Speaker 2>this that was very important. One, they had switched commentators.
<v Speaker 2>They at one point when they had reopened, they had
<v Speaker 2>Jim Cornett as a commentator, but things didn't work out
<v Speaker 2>between he and Court and some of the talent because
<v Speaker 2>he's very outspoken about the talent, people like Sammy Callahan,
<v Speaker 2>Callahan and so forth. The other thing was when they
<v Speaker 2>got when when Jim Cornett left, they replaced him with
<v Speaker 2>one mister Bruce Pritchard. Now this talent rate happens, Bruce
<v Speaker 2>Pritchard leaves, okay, and all of a sudden there's a
<v Speaker 2>lawsuit from MLW and Court Bauer about contract tampering. Now,
<v Speaker 2>who else would know about their contracts? Who else would
<v Speaker 2>know buyout clauses. I'll tell you it wasn't Jim Cornett.
<v Speaker 2>Now there's been a lot of speculation it was. It
<v Speaker 2>was Bruce Prichard. I don't think it's ever been public
<v Speaker 2>like that, But what happened was a major lawsuit, and
<v Speaker 2>in that lawsuit, of course, MLW had lost its TV
<v Speaker 2>rights on BN and his own I think it might
<v Speaker 2>still be on BN, but I'm not positive. Okay, so
<v Speaker 2>that's something you might you might want to check me on.
<v Speaker 2>But the WWE actually lost in court to MLW and
<v Speaker 2>court Bauer. The result of that was that the WWE
<v Speaker 2>fired it's same lawyers it had for twenty plus years
<v Speaker 2>or more, who were ironclad when it came to the
<v Speaker 2>courtroom and hired MLW's lawyers and had to pay out
<v Speaker 2>the nose or MLW for those contract tampering for accusations.
<v Speaker 2>So that's a little bit about MLW. After that, it's
<v Speaker 2>been hard to find as far as TV goes. I'm
<v Speaker 2>going to check right now on the Google machine and
<v Speaker 2>see if I can find where it's broadcast. But I'm
<v Speaker 2>pretty sure it's mostly going to be YouTube at this point.
<v Speaker 3>And let's see. Oh.
<v Speaker 2>Another interesting thing was at this time a lot of
<v Speaker 2>wrestlers before MLW relaunched as a promotion, court Bauer had
<v Speaker 2>started his own podcast network, MLW Radio or MLW Network
<v Speaker 2>and a lot of famous podcasts were on there. Then
<v Speaker 2>all of a sudden, I started hearing how podcasts were
<v Speaker 2>leaving that channel left and right, and that's because he
<v Speaker 2>was going to relaunch the promotion and they didn't want
<v Speaker 2>to be not necessarily associated with the promotion, but not
<v Speaker 2>necessarily how do I put it, They don't want their
<v Speaker 2>rights going to the promotion. So that that's another interesting
<v Speaker 2>legal fact that had happened at this time. So if
<v Speaker 2>you'd ever heard of MLW podcasts, that's basically where it
<v Speaker 2>came in. So I'm not really seeing here on their
<v Speaker 2>website where exactly they broadcast to these days, but I
<v Speaker 2>know that a lot of the stuff is on you YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>And let's see, they are based out of The promotion
<v Speaker 2>was founded in Philadelphia, but I believe they run almost
<v Speaker 2>all their shows out of Florida, at least they were
<v Speaker 2>in twenty nineteen, twenty twenty when I got back into them,
<v Speaker 2>So you know, take it for what it's worth. That's why.
<v Speaker 2>Because being out of Florida, they had access to a
<v Speaker 2>lot of Lucha libre, a lot of Cuban as well
<v Speaker 2>as Mexican wrestlers, which is very interesting because they had
<v Speaker 2>a very strong working agreement with Savio Vega for a
<v Speaker 2>long time, who serves as a conduit between Puerto Rico
<v Speaker 2>and America as far as talent exchanges. So that's what
<v Speaker 2>I got on that. Now let's explain what they've been
<v Speaker 2>doing these three for views. They've always used the Colisseum theme.
<v Speaker 2>I think that's from the old days when Colosseum Video
<v Speaker 2>was part of WWE.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, and I don't think that.
<v Speaker 1>WWE uses that name anymore. Obviously with TKO, they don't
<v Speaker 1>use the Colosseum them, so they call it the Kings
<v Speaker 1>of Colisseum series. It's been very interesting and everything I've
<v Speaker 1>seen from MLW has been very interesting.
<v Speaker 3>The thing about the promotion.
<v Speaker 2>Also is because it was born out of Philly, it
<v Speaker 2>is a hardcore promotion. It's very much about blood and guts,
<v Speaker 2>people getting hurt, people getting sacrificed, seeing all kinds of
<v Speaker 2>things turned into weapons. But let's get down to this show,
<v Speaker 2>this particular show. First of all, let's precurse it by
<v Speaker 2>talking about the show before the show. Before there was
<v Speaker 2>a Twitter or x exchange between Court Bauer, the founder
<v Speaker 2>and owner of MLW, and Eric Bischoff and Bischoff kind
<v Speaker 2>of made a remark about how he'd like to produce
<v Speaker 2>a show, so they allowed him to. But because Bischoff's
<v Speaker 2>name was tied to it on YouTube, it got way
<v Speaker 2>more views than the prior kings of Coliseum, So they
<v Speaker 2>decided to use his influence and let him influence this
<v Speaker 2>one again. So if you folks would like to know
<v Speaker 2>anything about it, let's talk about it right now, all.
<v Speaker 1>Right, So starting off, let's just go over the match
<v Speaker 1>card real quick. I'll just list them off real quick,
<v Speaker 1>and then we'll have that checklist to go off of
<v Speaker 1>to help us through this. So starting off, there was
<v Speaker 1>the non title gravity gamble match, which, honestly, you guys,
<v Speaker 1>this kind of reminds me of a Do you remember
<v Speaker 1>feast or Fired in TNA?
<v Speaker 3>Absolutely? I remember Feast Fired.
<v Speaker 2>It was such a such a terrible, terrible, terrible idea,
<v Speaker 2>and it's a hard way to find out you're getting
<v Speaker 2>fired right there in the middle of the ring, but
<v Speaker 2>go ahead, exactly, and for anybody that doesn't know, So
<v Speaker 2>the idea basically was a imagine that it's almost like
<v Speaker 2>money in the bank, except.
<v Speaker 3>There's four briefcases.
<v Speaker 1>They're all on polls on the corners of the ring,
<v Speaker 1>so it's almost less ladder match, more on a pole match.
<v Speaker 1>And then basically every single briefcase has either a title
<v Speaker 1>shot in it. For I believe it was ex Division,
<v Speaker 1>the main title, the tag titles, or one briefcase that said, hey.
<v Speaker 3>You're fired.
<v Speaker 1>So it kind of made me question, like, would I
<v Speaker 1>even want to participate in this match? I get it,
<v Speaker 1>I would want to fight for the championship and everything.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like there's other ways to go about this.
<v Speaker 1>But the nice thing about this match was having multiple briefcases.
<v Speaker 1>There wasn't one that said you were fired.
<v Speaker 3>The only.
<v Speaker 1>Really bad one, in my opinion, was one that was
<v Speaker 1>just empty, which, honestly, at that point you saw the
<v Speaker 1>briefcase as kind of a weapon at least you can
<v Speaker 1>use that, but they didn't really exploit that too much.
<v Speaker 1>They just you know, we'll get into that later. Anyways,
<v Speaker 1>next match was a tag team match between Atlantis and
<v Speaker 1>Atlantis Junior going up against Blue Panther and Dark Panther.
<v Speaker 1>Now I don't know much about these guys, but I
<v Speaker 1>know that that it was very CMLL produced, which Puca
<v Speaker 1>Dibre style I really do like. But this wasn't really
<v Speaker 1>my cup of tea. We'll get into that a little
<v Speaker 1>bit later, okay. So next was the MLW Women's World
<v Speaker 1>Featherweight title. This match was all right, not too bad.
<v Speaker 1>The next one was a singles match between Donovan die
<v Speaker 1>Jack and Kenta. After that was a three way match
<v Speaker 1>between Averno, I don't even know how to say this
<v Speaker 1>guy's name, Springey and Maskata do Drada.
<v Speaker 3>Not actually a bad match.
<v Speaker 1>I actually enjoyed that one, and then a former Lindsagerada
<v Speaker 1>by the way, really okay. And then the final match
<v Speaker 1>was MLW World Heavyweight title match, which was between Matt
<v Speaker 1>Riddle and Satoshi Kajima. Now, interesting fact, and they pointed
<v Speaker 1>this out on the show. I believe Satoshi Kajima was
<v Speaker 1>the original MLW champion. At least that's what they alluded
<v Speaker 1>to on the show. But either way, I believe so too,
<v Speaker 1>but I'm not positive. So yes, yeah, I believe so
<v Speaker 1>as well. The way the show kept like going back
<v Speaker 1>to it, it made it seem that way, so I'm
<v Speaker 1>willing to say, yeah, I think he was the original.
<v Speaker 1>Once again, guys, I don't know a whole lot about
<v Speaker 1>this company. I'm not gonna lie to you about this
<v Speaker 1>kind of stuff. If I don't know, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>But in this case, I'm a pro wrestling encyclopedia. We
<v Speaker 1>all know this, and I've only known what I could
<v Speaker 1>see over the years, and then when they took it
<v Speaker 1>off Fight TV, when Fight went know payment only basically,
<v Speaker 1>you know, it's it's been very hard to learn anything
<v Speaker 1>more about it.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, you can try to catch up as much as.
<v Speaker 2>Possible on online, but you know, if it's not really
<v Speaker 2>part of like irregular watch rotation, it's going to slip
<v Speaker 2>through the cracks like it did with me exactly. We
<v Speaker 2>can't really keep up on everything, but we want to
<v Speaker 2>give them some recognition at least.
<v Speaker 3>And you know, it's a free show.
<v Speaker 1>So can you really complain all that much if it's
<v Speaker 1>not the greatest product in the world, And you know what,
<v Speaker 1>who cares anyway, So we're going to dive.
<v Speaker 3>Right into it.
<v Speaker 1>So starting off with that ladder match in the beginning,
<v Speaker 1>Gravity Gamble. That's an interesting name for it, but all right,
<v Speaker 1>So essentially it's kind of like money in the bank.
<v Speaker 1>You've got instead of one briefcase, though, there's five briefcases,
<v Speaker 1>and inside some of those cases are weapons where you
<v Speaker 1>can use them against your opponents as you take down
<v Speaker 1>that case. Not a horrible idea, it's just not the
<v Speaker 1>greatest executed. Michael, Do you want to start off with
<v Speaker 1>this one?
<v Speaker 3>My lord?
<v Speaker 2>This this match was just this, this reeked of knock
<v Speaker 2>off ECW, knockoff WCW. And of course they kept talking
<v Speaker 2>about how it was the brainchild of Eric Bischoff and things.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to see in my wrestling matches anymore.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to see people getting their head stabled.
<v Speaker 2>There's no reason for it, Okay, I don't want to see.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, it was just okay.
<v Speaker 2>So some of the latters they had were wrapped in
<v Speaker 2>barbed wire, a little excessive. You have different briefcases that
<v Speaker 2>you're going to We start out the match with a
<v Speaker 2>cheap shot, and then you've got the Andersons, which is
<v Speaker 2>c W Anderson and Brock Anderson, who is the son
<v Speaker 2>of legendary Arn Anderson. And basically it just the match
<v Speaker 2>wasn't very fluid. It was very choppy, it was very chunky,
<v Speaker 2>it was very what's the term I'm looking for.
<v Speaker 3>It just wasn't very fluid.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and so.
<v Speaker 2>It's like the camera work wasn't the greatest camera work
<v Speaker 2>in the world. I'm not going to try to bag
<v Speaker 2>on because honestly, the production for especially in Indie, was
<v Speaker 2>a lot stronger than I expected the production to be
<v Speaker 2>for a company.
<v Speaker 3>I can say that.
<v Speaker 2>There was a lot of a lot of interference spots
<v Speaker 2>in this match. Of course, there's a character named mad
<v Speaker 2>s Krueger. He's been with them for a while. He's
<v Speaker 2>kind of like their cane is the way I would
<v Speaker 2>describe him. He wears kind of like a Jason Vorhees
<v Speaker 2>mask from the movie where he went to outer Space,
<v Speaker 2>but it's all black and he just looks like, you know,
<v Speaker 2>this crazy madman. You know, a lot of Mad Max
<v Speaker 2>kind of like the Humongous was okay, And so there
<v Speaker 2>was just a little gratuitous violence. There's going through too
<v Speaker 2>many tables, there's different sized ladders, there was knocking people
<v Speaker 2>into there's just multiple ladder spots, just so many ladder spots.
<v Speaker 2>And of course then you had the rogue horsemen as
<v Speaker 2>they call them, come out and try to help their
<v Speaker 2>guy win.
<v Speaker 3>And you know, just.
<v Speaker 2>Some of those briefcase shots were the worst shots I've
<v Speaker 2>ever seen a person take. Would you agree with that?
<v Speaker 2>Like they were so light, like just.
<v Speaker 3>Tapping them like tap tap.
<v Speaker 1>This was something that I actually sent a message to
<v Speaker 1>you about while I was watching. I was like, dude, okay,
<v Speaker 1>so I'm gonna go off quick rant here. Sorry to
<v Speaker 1>take over into your spotlight here. But this dude, Takira
<v Speaker 1>came out and they introduced him as the King of
<v Speaker 1>the Death Match, and he is giving shots to people's
<v Speaker 1>heads that looked like Hulk Hogan showed him how to
<v Speaker 1>give a chair shot or any kind of a weapon shot.
<v Speaker 1>And the entire time, I'm thinking, this is the King
<v Speaker 1>of death Match. You're telling me you're going to take
<v Speaker 1>a title like that away from somebody like Anita from
<v Speaker 1>FMW or Terryer, Dory Funk or McK foley or anybody
<v Speaker 1>that actually deserves it. And you, mister, if you ever
<v Speaker 1>go back to f F FMW excuse me FMW and
<v Speaker 1>you want to see some death matches, just look up
<v Speaker 1>mister Pogo.
<v Speaker 2>This guy was insane. He and you know Nita went
<v Speaker 2>at it. But that's neither here nor there, because.
<v Speaker 1>Neither one, either one of them would have been a
<v Speaker 1>bright spot in this match exactly. And it was like, look, man,
<v Speaker 1>I get it. We want to protect our wrestlers today.
<v Speaker 1>We don't want concussions. We don't want CTE anymore as much.
<v Speaker 3>But I'll tell you some of the.
<v Speaker 1>Other guys in that match, they were giving really good
<v Speaker 1>chair shots that looked pretty harsh. I'm not they did,
<v Speaker 1>they really did.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it was.
<v Speaker 2>It was a hodgepodge. It was a back and forth.
<v Speaker 2>We didn't know what we were really getting. So you've
<v Speaker 2>got these guys doing these these jit like seriously, there's
<v Speaker 2>there's k fabe and then there's these shots. And these
<v Speaker 2>shots were just, oh my lord, they were just so
<v Speaker 2>gone awful. And then, of course did you experience on
<v Speaker 2>your end when when all the lights went out, when
<v Speaker 2>it went completely dark on the on the.
<v Speaker 1>Feed, Yeah, it just went black for like a good
<v Speaker 1>I want to say, thirty seconds to a minute. And
<v Speaker 1>it's just like, wow, I can hear the commentary and
<v Speaker 1>they're saying a lot's going on.
<v Speaker 3>I have no idea. It's just a dark screen right now.
<v Speaker 1>And then I tried looking at the YouTube video like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>maybe my feed's wrong or something. Nope, that's just how
<v Speaker 1>the video is. That's it can't see.
<v Speaker 2>I've got a Roku TV, and I thought my TV
<v Speaker 2>was broke, and I was like, what the heck, So
<v Speaker 2>I just hit like the fast forward button and I
<v Speaker 2>was like, oh, wait a minute, it's just their production.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm thinking like someone stepped on a cameraman's court
<v Speaker 2>or something like that. Now here's here's the thing about MLW.
<v Speaker 2>They also have a baby ring, as I like to
<v Speaker 2>call it. There they look like WCW rings, but maybe
<v Speaker 2>even smaller. The WCW ring was an eighteen by eighteen
<v Speaker 2>a WWE rings in twenty by twenty. These things look
<v Speaker 2>like sixteen by sixteen or maybe eighteen by sixteen. They
<v Speaker 2>weren't all that big, and they it kind of cramps
<v Speaker 2>everything and makes it look indrific. And I hate to
<v Speaker 2>say that, and I know rings are expensive, but for
<v Speaker 2>some of these people that you have on contract, a
<v Speaker 2>ring is not that you know, not that bad of
<v Speaker 2>it a purchase option, I would say. So it's just
<v Speaker 2>one of those things that's a pet peeve of Bye.
<v Speaker 2>I've always hated the baby ring, so to speak, but
<v Speaker 2>that's just one of those things.
<v Speaker 1>That you know, I'm kind of like, what the heck,
<v Speaker 1>you know? So all right, getting past that, go back
<v Speaker 1>to this match. I mean, it's basically a glorified money
<v Speaker 1>in the bank. I've never been a fan of money
<v Speaker 1>in the bank. For those who don't know, one of
<v Speaker 1>my least favorite pay per views or pos whatever you
<v Speaker 1>want to call it, or one of my least favorite
<v Speaker 1>of all time of anything has been money in the Bank.
<v Speaker 1>I never liked a briefcase, and some idiot carries it
<v Speaker 1>around and then it makes it higher than the IC
<v Speaker 1>and US title, which I think is silly. Those are
<v Speaker 1>the workmen's titles, and those are supposed to be the
<v Speaker 1>stepping stones to be becoming a world champion. I also
<v Speaker 1>don't like the fact that some people cashed it in
<v Speaker 1>and they look like complete and other best way to
<v Speaker 1>put in jackasses when they screw up and get beaten
<v Speaker 1>the second or they know that the person they picked
<v Speaker 1>for money in the bank just does not connect. So
<v Speaker 1>with that being said, the only thing that was missing
<v Speaker 1>was Judy.
<v Speaker 2>Bagwell in a briefcase. Shout out to Marcus Alexander Bagwell
<v Speaker 2>please friend of the show.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, I mean stapling. It was just stupid the briefcase.
<v Speaker 3>They had nothing.
<v Speaker 2>And of course, so the winner in this match is
<v Speaker 2>mad Skrueger, who is, like I said, they're Kane, who
<v Speaker 2>was just this ginormous beast, and he used to be
<v Speaker 2>in a lot better shape. I'm not saying he's in

<v Speaker 1>intro man. He's been playing a lot of the gopher

<v Speaker 2>of things I want to mention is I believe Matt
<v Speaker 2>Scruer is part of the group Contra. Now, when Contra started,
<v Speaker 2>this is going to be very interesting, folks, it was
<v Speaker 2>Simon Gotch. You might know him as one half of
<v Speaker 2>the Vaudevillians Joseph Sammel, which a guy never really knew
<v Speaker 2>that much about. I just remember that on Triller or
<v Speaker 2>Fight TV they would do like these promos where he
<v Speaker 2>was inside a limo and all these strippers were dancing
<v Speaker 2>on him with thongs like in his face and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>And then another guy who was the enforcer. You might
<v Speaker 2>have heard of him. He's called Jacob Fattoo, and he
<v Speaker 2>ended up beating a man named Filthy Tom Lawler for
<v Speaker 2>the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and held it for like
<v Speaker 2>eight hundred something days. During those days, it was concurrent
<v Speaker 2>with his cousin, somebody named Roman Reigns going for a
<v Speaker 2>thousand days. So that's a little bit of trivia three folks,
<v Speaker 2>and you kind of wonder where some of the influence
<v Speaker 2>might have come from. Well that's an idea, all.
<v Speaker 3>Right, good bit of history there. So my opinion on
<v Speaker 3>that first match.
<v Speaker 1>Interesting idea, but not very well executed, and it felt
<v Speaker 1>way overproduced. And when I say that, I mean they're
<v Speaker 1>sending up things way too much, and it made it
<v Speaker 1>feel like the flow of the match wasn't really that good.
<v Speaker 1>It was like they're taking time to set up one
<v Speaker 1>ladder in between the other ladder's rungs, so it's like perfect, yes,
<v Speaker 1>the ladder, and then you've got one guy that's like
<v Speaker 1>trying to spear the other dude off of it. And
<v Speaker 1>if you watch closely, well you don't even have to
<v Speaker 1>watch that closely. You can see he can't run on
<v Speaker 1>that ladder like that, and I understand that's a safety
<v Speaker 1>concern at that point, and he's not trying to bash
<v Speaker 1>his own head open for the spot, but he like
<v Speaker 1>almost walked on the ladder to give the spear to
<v Speaker 1>mad s Kruger. And it was like, man, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it looks like crap. I'm not gonna lie. I'm not
<v Speaker 1>gonna try to sugarcoat it. At this point, it really
<v Speaker 1>didn't look good.
<v Speaker 2>And then well, that's a good producer would have said, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>let's have a brawl on the outside, so we could
<v Speaker 2>pan to that in crowd reactions. While you're setting this
<v Speaker 2>up so that all we get is the spear. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>and when we pan him back, like I cut you off,
<v Speaker 2>so please go ahead.

<v Speaker 1>Another thing like you mentioned about that barbed wire ladder,
<v Speaker 1>What is the point of a barb wire ladder? Like,
<v Speaker 1>there is no functional reason to have a barbed wire ladder.

<v Speaker 2>to the wrestlers. And I remember one guy handed I
<v Speaker 2>think it was either Sam or Tommy Dreamer a barbed
<v Speaker 2>wire brick, and they looked at him and said really,
<v Speaker 2>and just dropped it on the ground because it made sense,
<v Speaker 2>like a brick will hurt somebody, barbed wire will hurt somebody.

<v Speaker 2>it to him, you're cutting the hand of the person
<v Speaker 2>who you're giving it to your favorite wrestler. And as

<v Speaker 1>you see Matt Scruger's on a ladder.
<v Speaker 3>He's trying to get to the case.
<v Speaker 1>That dude Akira comes in and he's like kind of
<v Speaker 1>stopping him from getting up to the case, and Akira
<v Speaker 1>ends up like setting up a chair, keeps like trying
<v Speaker 1>to keep a mad s Kruger at Bay, who's still
<v Speaker 1>halfway on the ladder, goes up on top of the ladder.
<v Speaker 1>After he set up this chair next to the ladder,
<v Speaker 1>everybodys thinking, oh, he must be setting up a pretty
<v Speaker 1>big spot. The guy goes for the briefcase. Dude, what
<v Speaker 1>are you doing? Why are you setting up a move
<v Speaker 1>and then going back for the case.

<v Speaker 1>Move like that, you gotta exploit it quick and then
<v Speaker 1>get right up back on that ladder. That would have
<v Speaker 1>looked good, but instead he set up his own downfall. Instead,
<v Speaker 1>he gets put through the chair because he immediately went.

<v Speaker 1>It didn't make any sense. He was like, why, okay,

<v Speaker 2>my only prayer. At one hundred and forty five pounds
<v Speaker 2>and almost fifty years old. Now I'm not going to
<v Speaker 2>like showboat and like moon their friends and like, you know,
<v Speaker 2>whistle around and do other goofy things I guess you
<v Speaker 2>might do in a street fight. Before I go for
<v Speaker 2>the brass knuckles, I want it to be over. I
<v Speaker 2>want to be one, you know, then I can moon
<v Speaker 2>his friends and everything else and act like a goofball.
<v Speaker 2>So that's the best analogy I can put forward for it.
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't really make sense, I guess to some folks.

<v Speaker 2>a real fight or something is at state, you know

<v Speaker 2>And it's not like people. They were betting on every
<v Speaker 2>horse race, especially during the Kentucky Derby. They're betting on
<v Speaker 2>every horse race. But you don't go to the all
<v Speaker 2>you can eat buffet right before bidding ends. You bid first,
<v Speaker 2>then you get your food and then you rejoice if
<v Speaker 2>you want. And I feel like these people, like I
<v Speaker 2>might miss this round of horse racing because you know,
<v Speaker 2>they got Filet Mignon up there, which was delicious, by
<v Speaker 2>the way, Maverick delicious. So anyway, let's let's talk about
<v Speaker 2>some more on some more of these matches. But this,
<v Speaker 2>I think is part of MLW's problem is well, the
<v Speaker 2>production overall, as far as screen quality, what you're seeing
<v Speaker 2>what's going on is not bad. It is more or
<v Speaker 2>less the camera shots. A lot of indies and even
<v Speaker 2>WCW had this problem. AW had this problem too, like
<v Speaker 2>let's film the worst possible angle and see somebody punching
<v Speaker 2>the apron instead of punching their opponent.
<v Speaker 3>Things like that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, but last thing for this match, honestly, they
<v Speaker 1>just overproduced it and it was just too much done
<v Speaker 1>to try to look cool and try to have these
<v Speaker 1>great spots, but then they didn't execute them very well.
<v Speaker 1>And it's like, Okay, I get it, there was potential here,
<v Speaker 1>but you flubbed it.
<v Speaker 3>It is what it is.
<v Speaker 1>You know, maybe try again another day, But there's got
<v Speaker 1>to be a better flow to these things going up
<v Speaker 1>when you're close to winning and then just getting distracted
<v Speaker 1>by the possibility of winning. When you just set up
<v Speaker 1>a possible spot, there's no reason for me.
<v Speaker 2>You just the best way of putting it that really
<v Speaker 2>is of getting distracted by my possibility of winning.
<v Speaker 3>It's literally anum.
<v Speaker 1>He got thrown on the chair that he set up
<v Speaker 1>himself because he got distracted trying to go for the case.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, that is the end of that match for me.
<v Speaker 1>I was kind of okay with their cane character winning.
<v Speaker 1>I thought, you know what, the guy's a big beast,
<v Speaker 1>having this kind of a contract, it could work for them.
<v Speaker 1>This guy is probably the one who seemed the most
<v Speaker 1>legitimate throughout that match anyway, So shout out to that guy,

<v Speaker 2>So anyways, last thing I want to I don't want
<v Speaker 2>to say on that is that one of the one
<v Speaker 2>of the competitors his name. They call him Fighters by
<v Speaker 2>the way, which is something I like because Courtbauer does
<v Speaker 2>try to take his his product very serious. So they're
<v Speaker 2>not referred to as wrestlers. They're all call them fighters,
<v Speaker 2>which I think is kind of cool. It's a little
<v Speaker 2>bit different, a little bit more unique that one of
<v Speaker 2>the competitors, one of the fighters was named Matt Justice.
<v Speaker 2>For all of you out there, he is not the
<v Speaker 2>son of Sid. He's not Sid Justice's son. You might
<v Speaker 2>know the said Vicious or Psycho said, his son's name
<v Speaker 2>is Frank.
<v Speaker 3>I know him, all right? Going forward? Nice? All right?
<v Speaker 1>So next match Atlantis and Atlantis Junior defeating Blue Panther
<v Speaker 1>and Dark Panther. Hey, I'm all for Luca Liibree style,
<v Speaker 1>but man, this match just it felt like I was
<v Speaker 1>watching old WCW when they would bring in certain older
<v Speaker 1>wrestlers from yesteryear that they weren't really at the top
<v Speaker 1>of their game anymore, and you could tell, but you're
<v Speaker 1>still going to clap for them anyways, just because you're
<v Speaker 1>happy that they were there. It wasn't terrible. There were
<v Speaker 1>some nice spots to it, and I'll be honest with
<v Speaker 1>the guy. Dark Panther was the only one who really
<v Speaker 1>impressed me throughout it, But overall.
<v Speaker 3>That was kind of a poor match.
<v Speaker 1>I'm really not impressed with it, unfortunately.

<v Speaker 3>was a match.
<v Speaker 2>So basically it's like you said, like if you didn't
<v Speaker 2>have Ray Psychosis or Hoovey on a show WCW back
<v Speaker 2>in the nineties there was a bunch of Hodgepod wrestlers
<v Speaker 2>they brought in, who I still think are a bit
<v Speaker 2>of a leg up from what we have now. In
<v Speaker 2>this actual match, now, Dark Panther was pretty good. I
<v Speaker 2>love the fact that it was a blue Panther had
<v Speaker 2>to take off his mask. He was only allowed to
<v Speaker 2>wear it to the ring. Yes, because once you lose
<v Speaker 2>your mask in a wager. In Mexico, I think it's
<v Speaker 2>called lucha de pestius something like that.
<v Speaker 3>That once you lose a wager, you cannot go back
<v Speaker 3>on it.
<v Speaker 2>And it's obviously once your face is exposed, it's exposed
<v Speaker 2>for life. So and here's the trivia question of today,
<v Speaker 2>of course, who or why why did most Luca wrestlers
<v Speaker 2>wear masks?
<v Speaker 3>Why do they?
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't really tell you off the top of my head.
<v Speaker 1>I know it's a big part of their culture, and

<v Speaker 3>That adds kind of a mystique to them as well,

<v Speaker 2>Because a lot of them were business professionals like doctors, denist's, lawyers,

<v Speaker 2>actual part of real, real, actual Loocha trivia. So these
<v Speaker 2>guys kind of looked like definitely elder statesmen. You have
<v Speaker 2>a couple of elder statesmen in there, and then you know,
<v Speaker 2>Dark Panther was probably the highlight. But these guys were
<v Speaker 2>definitely not hitting the gym anytime soon. So they looked
<v Speaker 2>like your your second tier folk that came out to w.
<v Speaker 3>Back in the day.
<v Speaker 2>You had your Super Colo and Liz Mark Junior and
<v Speaker 2>stuff like that. Who They weren't out of shape in
<v Speaker 2>the same way as like Chubbier. They were just like
<v Speaker 2>their tights didn't fit them because the might have been
<v Speaker 2>too thin or something like that.
<v Speaker 3>They look like El Dandy. If anybody remembers El Dandy
<v Speaker 3>and the Viano's, that's kind of like what they look like.
<v Speaker 2>But they did their best. They wrestled their heart out.
<v Speaker 2>To be honest with you, I wasn't disappointed with the
<v Speaker 2>match completely. I thought that for the age constraints, it
<v Speaker 2>was pretty amazing. And if you go back to the
<v Speaker 2>golden era of WWF and you saw a match like that,
<v Speaker 2>you had been impressed, especially with the fact that some
<v Speaker 2>of them could actually spin the ropes to six point
<v Speaker 2>nine white not quite but close to six poet nine
<v Speaker 2>type maneuvers. What got me at the end was the
<v Speaker 2>frog splash. Do you think that's just a little kiss up?
<v Speaker 1>Uh? Potentially, But I always kind of question about that,
<v Speaker 1>Like whatever I see anything that is, I guess I
<v Speaker 1>could call it a to go out to ask is
<v Speaker 1>it a kiss up? And it's always just kind of
<v Speaker 1>gonna loom my head because we're never gonna know. Really
<v Speaker 1>that could just be that guy's normal move at this
<v Speaker 1>point is a popular one that's honestly really cool to see.

<v Speaker 1>killed one so far, so it was only like the
<v Speaker 1>biggest competitor WWE ever and you know, multimillion dollar company,

<v Speaker 2>our featherweight title match?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, so the MLW Women's featherweight title. Now I kind
<v Speaker 1>of liked that they brought in and it was a
<v Speaker 1>title versus hair match, but I kind of wished it
<v Speaker 1>was hair versus hair. So it's like, both do have
<v Speaker 1>something physical on the line, and if yes, one side
<v Speaker 1>we or two of one, then the other still gets,
<v Speaker 1>you know, to shave the head of the other. Although
<v Speaker 1>then I saw what the title holder had looked like.
<v Speaker 1>It looked like half her head was shaved anyways, so
<v Speaker 1>it was like, I guess it wouldn't have really done
<v Speaker 1>that much to her ego or anything she heared yet
<v Speaker 1>half her head shaved.
<v Speaker 3>But I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>The match itself was not bad, I will give it that.
<v Speaker 1>I thought that it had some great women's technical wrestling.
<v Speaker 1>The characters I couldn't really get behind. The title holder.
<v Speaker 1>What was her name? It was Jeni Kai Jani Kai. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I am not a fan of her character. I don't
<v Speaker 1>know what it is about it. It seems like a psycho
<v Speaker 1>martial artist, which it's cool, but it's just not something
<v Speaker 1>that I'm really that prone to watching. And seeing the
<v Speaker 1>way that she interacted in the ring, she did hold
<v Speaker 1>the character very well. And then spoiler once again, guys
<v Speaker 1>at the end when uh del me exo, when's it?
<v Speaker 3>It's a very refreshing moment.
<v Speaker 1>And then seeing how everybody really went nuts for her,
<v Speaker 1>and even somebody came out and like got the crowd
<v Speaker 1>riled up even more, like, come on, she just won
<v Speaker 1>this title and it's been out of anybody else's hands
<v Speaker 1>for the past like a year or something like that,
<v Speaker 1>and give her some props.
<v Speaker 3>I kind of respect that. You know.
<v Speaker 1>It was refreshing to see and I thought, honestly, the match,
<v Speaker 1>it flowed, Okay, I didn't see anything horribly wrong.

<v Speaker 2>And in a weird way, I kind of find Kai

<v Speaker 2>L Zelena de la Rena as like part of her
<v Speaker 2>production role. I also loved the fact that Kai kept
<v Speaker 2>twisting it was it Delexpo twisting her hair. Yeah, kept
<v Speaker 2>twisting her hair, pulling her hair out like she really wanted.
<v Speaker 2>It seemed like the prize of the championship wasn't as
<v Speaker 2>big as the hair, which I thought was really cool
<v Speaker 2>because it was telling a story, which is something that's
<v Speaker 2>a lost start, especially on the indies. So you know,
<v Speaker 2>and I hate to call MLW and indie because if
<v Speaker 2>you beat if you beat w D in court, you know,
<v Speaker 2>you're actually pretty important. I would say MLW, it's it's
<v Speaker 2>probably the fourth promotion.
<v Speaker 3>You know, you'd go because Ring of Honor doesn't count.
<v Speaker 1>It's it's it's under the AW umbrella. That makes sense, right,
<v Speaker 1>So you go WWE, a W and then TNA, especially
<v Speaker 1>with the merge now working with with WWE, and then
<v Speaker 1>MLW and then most everything after that, your your game
<v Speaker 1>changers and your mcw's and stuff like that are all
<v Speaker 1>going to be your smaller promotions that are still getting
<v Speaker 1>some kind of local TV.
<v Speaker 2>So I think that, honestly, I did not mind the match.
<v Speaker 2>I think that given more time, in a little bit
<v Speaker 2>more producer production as opposed to television production, that this
<v Speaker 2>could have been a better match. And I think that
<v Speaker 2>they could tear the house down instead of just putting
<v Speaker 2>the house up.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, I enjoyed it a lot, and I
<v Speaker 1>would agree to an extent. However, I will always believe
<v Speaker 1>that NWA is kind of that number four. They're on
<v Speaker 1>TV now, I guess so they have made a deal
<v Speaker 1>with CW from what I've heard, So I would say
<v Speaker 1>NWA is kind of in that fourth spot. But I
<v Speaker 1>would say fifth would be for all the indie companies.
<v Speaker 3>At that point, you know what I mean.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's it's it's kind of hard. It's all like
<v Speaker 2>I hate to say it, like this like Third World Country.
<v Speaker 2>After you get past AW or TNA. Really after you
<v Speaker 2>get past t and A, it's like all, you know,
<v Speaker 2>the scraps of whatever, and I'll fight for this and
<v Speaker 2>you fight for that. You know, it's it's almost territorial again.
<v Speaker 2>But it's it's definitely like that one thing I am
<v Speaker 2>going to say, and this has always been a pet
<v Speaker 2>peeve of mine, when someone does a cradle suplex, they
<v Speaker 2>always call it a Fisherman suplex. First of all, go
<v Speaker 2>back to wrestleming you to watch Harley Race's finisher, it's
<v Speaker 2>called a cradle suplex. After that, Mister Perfect used it
<v Speaker 2>two times. They called it on TV Wrestling All Stars
<v Speaker 2>and I think Spotlight a cradle suplex. Then they dropped
<v Speaker 2>them on Kurt Hennig mister Perfect, made him mister Perfect.
<v Speaker 2>Then they called it a Perfect plus plex. Somehow in
<v Speaker 2>the nineties they started calling everything with a cradle of
<v Speaker 2>Fisherman's hook. I don't like that it's a cradle.
<v Speaker 3>It's and I'll.
<v Speaker 2>Tell you what, if anybody could resurrect Harley Race and
<v Speaker 2>try to tell him that they're miscalling, is moved good

<v Speaker 1>One of the top three toughest of all time. That's
<v Speaker 1>about all I mean. Me personally, having done amateur wrestling
<v Speaker 1>for a couple of years, I kind of see it
<v Speaker 1>differently because to me, a cradle is something completely different.

<v Speaker 1>and it's different. But regardless, Yeah, honestly, that was one
<v Speaker 1>of the better matches of the night, and I actually
<v Speaker 1>enjoyed that one a little bit more. Was refreshing, even
<v Speaker 1>though I didn't really like one of the characters, and
<v Speaker 1>I was like, yeah, I'm fully pulling for XO.

<v Speaker 1>So the next match itself was Donovan die Jack versus Kenta. Now,
<v Speaker 1>this match was something that I also really enjoyed. To
<v Speaker 1>be honest with you guys, it was a little shorter,
<v Speaker 1>and I think it was a little bit better off
<v Speaker 1>that way. I think that sometimes you don't need matches
<v Speaker 1>to go twenty thirty minutes. Sometimes it's nicer just have
<v Speaker 1>that ten minute out when it's like, okay, do what
<v Speaker 1>you guys can do and just have fun with it.
<v Speaker 1>And that's kind of what it had looked like. And
<v Speaker 1>it's also nice to see that Donovan dye Jack. His
<v Speaker 1>finisher looks a lot like I don't know how to
<v Speaker 1>explain this, but a reverse GTS almost because he has
<v Speaker 1>his opponent upside down when he holds him up well
<v Speaker 1>facing the ceiling, I should say, whereas yeah, you know
<v Speaker 1>Kent do's GTS well GTS sleep I guess they called
<v Speaker 1>it or something like that. He has his opponent facing downward,
<v Speaker 1>and it's kind of nice to see. I enjoyed watching
<v Speaker 1>this actually, and yeah, it was different. It was a
<v Speaker 1>match that I really enjoyed, even the finish of because
<v Speaker 1>it seemed like they were kind of going back and
<v Speaker 1>forth and really trying for their finishers until die Jack
<v Speaker 1>finally hits his and flipping them over instead. It looked, honestly,
<v Speaker 1>just a different twist on the move and I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this isn't something I really expected to see tonight, but
<v Speaker 1>I was happy to watch it, and you know what,
<v Speaker 1>I have a little bit more respect for die Jack
<v Speaker 1>after that I thought he moved pretty well through this match.

<v Speaker 2>Well, you know I was I was following Diejack's career
<v Speaker 2>since Ring of Honor, and he was part of that
<v Speaker 2>that brilliant let's buy up a wrestler and they're the
<v Speaker 2>person they go against a lot and.

<v Speaker 2>It was him and Matt Riddle that used to fight
<v Speaker 2>a Lot and Ring of Honor and uh so when
<v Speaker 2>they brought that to NXT, it didn't pan out that way. Obviously,

<v Speaker 2>who don't know, will they tell? Will you tell them

<v Speaker 2>Kenta is a failed careersman. Last I knew he was
<v Speaker 2>actually one of the Bullet Club, but he didn't have
<v Speaker 2>Bullet Club year when he came out. But then again,
<v Speaker 2>what's that even mean anymore? That's so played out at
<v Speaker 2>this point. You know that jumped the Shark at least
<v Speaker 2>three years ago. So I did like the David and
<v Speaker 2>Goliath match here, especially the sleeper sleeper situation he does
<v Speaker 2>with die Jack because it looks pretty legit. The only
<v Speaker 2>thing I thought was really funny was who was who

<v Speaker 2>the suffocation angle an angle from the camera, but all

<v Speaker 2>This one is another one where it could have used

<v Speaker 2>slam and then he's blocking it with the slaps pretty cool.

<v Speaker 1>and I appreciated that he was. He was kind of
<v Speaker 1>everything that he needed to be. He was in the
<v Speaker 1>way when his guy was about to be losing. He
<v Speaker 1>was that just new sense for his guy's opponent, and
<v Speaker 1>that was exactly what a Jimmy Hart or I want
<v Speaker 1>to say, Bobby the brain Heenan probably would have done
<v Speaker 1>it as well. Oh yeah, those guys would have definitely
<v Speaker 1>have been the exact same way. So you know what,
<v Speaker 1>shout out to that guy, you know, props to him.
<v Speaker 1>He did very well I thought with the agent role
<v Speaker 1>or whatever you want to call it, the manager role.
<v Speaker 1>But aside from that, so next match, it was a
<v Speaker 1>three way match between three different Loocha doors now the
<v Speaker 1>CMLL takeover portions. I was hoping for more out of these,
<v Speaker 1>but this last match was entertaining. It was a little spotfesty,

<v Speaker 1>It did what it did, and it wasn't horribly disinteresting.

<v Speaker 2>that's why I gave it some credit. Of course, we've
<v Speaker 2>got you know Dorado, you know, a former Lindsay Grato

<v Speaker 1>wasn't a spotty finish, but honestly they did have good
<v Speaker 1>chemistry together. I shouldn't really be as harsh on them.

<v Speaker 1>everything else that I had seen at that point. And guys,
<v Speaker 1>after you watch so much just crap in front of you,

<v Speaker 1>really feel like watching it anymore. I'm not gonna lie
<v Speaker 1>to you guys, That's just how my mind kind of

<v Speaker 2>Like I said, I thought it was was matched in
<v Speaker 2>the night. Some of the things I didn't like is
<v Speaker 2>when the show showing the surrounding areas of the ring
<v Speaker 2>and you see like some of the pads pulled back
<v Speaker 2>in the hardwood things like that, Like there's better ways
<v Speaker 2>to do visual production to make it look a little
<v Speaker 2>bit more professional. But honestly, I think these guys worked there.
<v Speaker 2>They worked their tails off on this match, and they
<v Speaker 2>were really trying to steal the show, and to this point,
<v Speaker 2>I really thought they did steal the show. I really
<v Speaker 2>think that they all did a great job as far
<v Speaker 2>as selling as much as they could with the Lucas style,
<v Speaker 2>as far as trying to tell a story. It's just
<v Speaker 2>the rings aren't big enough, that's for one. And the
<v Speaker 2>space outside the ring for them to do their stuff
<v Speaker 2>over the ropes and through the ropes or everything else
<v Speaker 2>that wasn't big enough either, So it takes away from
<v Speaker 2>their Lootris style. So you have to cram You've got
<v Speaker 2>all this energy that fits in fifty feet and you
<v Speaker 2>have to cram it into twenty five feet. So just faster, faster,
<v Speaker 2>go go go, go, go go, and the story you know,
<v Speaker 2>while it's being told, it's not as great of a
<v Speaker 2>story I can tell you, you know, you know, the
<v Speaker 2>the goalielocks and through theirs, but I could also just
<v Speaker 2>skip to you know, the bear at the end, you know,
<v Speaker 2>the baby Bear, and you're like, where's I know the story?
<v Speaker 3>But what happened to mom? And pop up? You know,
<v Speaker 3>let's get there first.
<v Speaker 1>So that's that's kind of the way I saw this match,
<v Speaker 1>if that makes any sense.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, that makes enough sense.
<v Speaker 1>It was overall good, it's just you know, after everything
<v Speaker 1>surrounding and up to it was just mid in my opinion,
<v Speaker 1>it's like, yeah, you know, you're kind of just drained

<v Speaker 1>So moving on to the last match, MLW World Heavyweight
<v Speaker 1>Title match between Matt Riddle and Satoshi Kajima. Now, yes,
<v Speaker 1>Matt Riddle and this guy's got crazy history about him,
<v Speaker 1>and overall this wasn't terrible, but I don't know the
<v Speaker 1>mac itself, just it being ten minutes felt really short
<v Speaker 1>for a world title match, and I wasn't crazy impressed
<v Speaker 1>by it, but it did enough just for.
<v Speaker 3>Me to be like, Okay, that's the end.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you to an extent, which is a horrible way
<v Speaker 1>to feel at the end of a pay per view.
<v Speaker 1>I shouldn't be looking at the main event and go, oh,
<v Speaker 1>thank God, but it's good enough for me to walk
<v Speaker 1>away from it. At that point, I thought, riddle winning
<v Speaker 1>it from Kojima. It seems ceremonial passing of the torch
<v Speaker 1>almost in a way, but not in a good enough sense.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know how to put it. Besides, it seems
<v Speaker 1>like Kojima is kind of just walking away from it
<v Speaker 1>when I don't know. He doesn't seem like he really
<v Speaker 1>is showing that much of his age. He is older
<v Speaker 1>for sure, But I don't know this match. I just
<v Speaker 1>wasn't crazy impressed by it. But it wasn't the worst
<v Speaker 1>thing I've seen. I don't know, Man, help me out

<v Speaker 2>It's a very strange match to put it the best,
<v Speaker 2>Because first of all, Kojima is storied. He's in Japan.
<v Speaker 2>He's known as everything. I mean, he's been there forever.
<v Speaker 2>He's held a lot of titles in Japan, and everybody
<v Speaker 2>knows that he's a legit fighter.
<v Speaker 1>Now. Also, and I made this case a month, many many,
<v Speaker 1>many many times. Matt Riddle legitimately fought UFC. Matt Riddle
<v Speaker 1>legitimately beat the living snot out of people. And we're

<v Speaker 2>down in MLW, not in AW or even TNA, you know,
<v Speaker 2>because I know those contracts have to be bigger, and
<v Speaker 2>I know MLW has a working relationship with so many
<v Speaker 2>plete people and you can take so many indie bookings

<v Speaker 2>was never He was somewhat top tier, but I wouldn't
<v Speaker 2>put him in the upper echelon of the Japanese wrestling
<v Speaker 2>as far as what I grew up with, as far
<v Speaker 2>as what I knew, you know, And maybe it's the
<v Speaker 2>youth movement of Japan right now, but I don't get it,
<v Speaker 2>Like I don't understand why they even facilitated the title
<v Speaker 2>change onto him at sixty something years old. He definitely
<v Speaker 2>has something in the ring. I'd definitely rather watch him
<v Speaker 2>wrestle than Rick Flair or Jeff Jarrett, and nothing against Jeff.
<v Speaker 2>I love Jeff Jarrett, but I'd rather watch him wrestle
<v Speaker 2>than a lot of people. I could see Kojima working
<v Speaker 2>in NXT seriously at his age against people, but as
<v Speaker 2>a player, trainer, coach, like he's not only teaching them,
<v Speaker 2>but he's also wrestling as a character like as Satoshi Kojima.
<v Speaker 2>And it could work down there because these are up
<v Speaker 2>and comers, so to speak. It could work, you know,
<v Speaker 2>I could see him wrestling maybe even called up in
<v Speaker 2>like an Andre the Giant Battle Royal or something like that.
<v Speaker 2>But in this situation, being the top dog, it just
<v Speaker 2>makes no sense. That's the way I put it with this,
<v Speaker 2>and that's kind of how I felt about like this match,
<v Speaker 2>But I didn't see it as horribly terrible.
<v Speaker 1>Also, I'm gonna give this a five out of five.
<v Speaker 1>So there is one other thing that I do kind
<v Speaker 1>of think about with this. It could have built up
<v Speaker 1>somebody else. Rental is not somebody that's gonna benefit from
<v Speaker 1>beating Kojima. No, And who's really going to benefit from
<v Speaker 1>getting the title from Riddle. Maybe there's somebody out there,
<v Speaker 1>But looking at his track history, it's like, man, you're
<v Speaker 1>really kind of a guy who can't seem to stay
<v Speaker 1>employed because allegations.
<v Speaker 3>But you know, smoke, there's fire here.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And it's kind of just annoying to see when
<v Speaker 1>it's like, okay, is it really that big of a
<v Speaker 1>deal that you just beat out a dude who can't
<v Speaker 1>seem to stay employed. It would have made a little
<v Speaker 1>bit more sense for a sort of up and comer.
<v Speaker 1>I would have even took Die Jack getting the title.
<v Speaker 1>I thought that could have been a somewhat better move,
<v Speaker 1>just for somebody to be Okay, this guy's kind of
<v Speaker 1>an up and comer, but he's shown he's got some talent,

<v Speaker 1>champion for a little bit. And I think it could
<v Speaker 1>have built him up a little bit more. Even if
<v Speaker 1>he is a yeah he fell from Grace from WWE
<v Speaker 1>or whatever, it's not as big of a deal. I
<v Speaker 1>feel like he just would have had a better run
<v Speaker 1>with it, or any other up and come or really
<v Speaker 1>if they could upon a good enough match, or maybe
<v Speaker 1>if they prove themselves enough, And maybe that's probably part
<v Speaker 1>of the problem with MLW. Maybe they don't feel like
<v Speaker 1>anybody else is really up to that point yet, or
<v Speaker 1>maybe they just wanted, you know, maybe they've got this
<v Speaker 1>Bischoff era thing that's going to be going on, and
<v Speaker 1>he's kind of calling the shot and saying, hey, well,
<v Speaker 1>let's have our two biggest stars go against each other
<v Speaker 1>right now, So then you know, that's our first pay review,
<v Speaker 1>and then after that we can build off of them.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe he's got a whole plan in mind that we
<v Speaker 1>don't see. I don't know, And honestly, I don't really
<v Speaker 1>trust his vision that much. I mean, watching this whole show,
<v Speaker 1>it felt reminiscent of somewhere between when he took over
<v Speaker 1>in TNA and back in Nitro.
<v Speaker 3>It felt fishy of Bischoff the entire time. And that's
<v Speaker 3>all it felt like.
<v Speaker 1>And all I was thinking was I'm expecting to see
<v Speaker 1>the nWo just pop out at some.

<v Speaker 2>on each other because who you can believe is going
<v Speaker 2>to take out a UFC fighter than a former UFC fighter.
<v Speaker 2>But I remember seeing like when Jacob Fatu, you know,

<v Speaker 2>wonder about their contracts. What are they getting out of

<v Speaker 1>recommendation that was kind of based off of peer pressure.
<v Speaker 1>This past couple of weeks, friends of mine wanted to
<v Speaker 1>see the new Nols Sparatu movie, and I was kind
<v Speaker 1>of thinking about it and thinking, you know, maybe I'll
<v Speaker 1>go ahead and see it. That seems like a cool idea.
<v Speaker 1>But then I decided I don't watched the original, but
<v Speaker 1>one from like nineteen twenty two. But we'll say, guys,
<v Speaker 1>if you're interested, it's actually pretty good. I never really
<v Speaker 1>had sat down and watched a silent film before, but honestly,
<v Speaker 1>it's not bad. This is a pretty enjoyable experience for me,
<v Speaker 1>and I would recommend it to anybody. The original nos Sparatu,
<v Speaker 1>the Symphony of Horror. It's got an interesting story to it,
<v Speaker 1>it being old timey, the acting and everything is just
