<v Speaker 1>Welcome on into the Non Tender Podcast. I'm joined today
<v Speaker 1>by a YouTube hero legacy creator. Honestly unbelievable that this
<v Speaker 1>is happening, and I appreciate it so much. James from
<v Speaker 1>a d G n oh, thank you, Thank you so
<v Speaker 1>much for being here.
<v Speaker 2>You do that every week, young man.
<v Speaker 1>We also have Sully and guys stream up on his
<v Speaker 1>phone and we're gonna talk about a lot today maybe
<v Speaker 1>or maybe maybe not. Maybe we'll just sit here and procrastinate. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>is everybody ready?
<v Speaker 2>Let's do it? Ready now?
<v Speaker 1>I was telling my wife this, but I've been on
<v Speaker 1>YouTube a long time as well.
<v Speaker 2>James.
<v Speaker 1>No, I have been on YouTube for a minute and
<v Speaker 1>I've met a lot of people and I never get
<v Speaker 1>like the starstruck. It usually just I don't know, it
<v Speaker 1>doesn't really affect me. This is like, this is the
<v Speaker 1>time for me, honestly. This is and I mean like
<v Speaker 1>we've been we've been talking, we email, we've been emailing
<v Speaker 1>back and forth for a little bit, and this is
<v Speaker 1>something that you have we we've been talking about doing
<v Speaker 1>for a long time, like a couple of years now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, we ran into it, tried some conventions before, very
<v Speaker 3>different environment.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we were saying that usually thanks thanks for having
<v Speaker 2>me here. This is a cool setup. I'm just I'm so,
<v Speaker 2>I'm honestly on it. I'm just on it.
<v Speaker 3>I love that that I have fire behind me. I
<v Speaker 3>really love I figured it was appropriate.
<v Speaker 1>I asked Justin what, like what color I should do,
<v Speaker 1>and he was like color and he just wrote back fire.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, okay, that would work.
<v Speaker 1>So I there's honestly so much to talk with you about,
<v Speaker 1>and also like we want to do a little bit
<v Speaker 1>of our show again still with like some news, and
<v Speaker 1>we've been you know, I mean, I know you've been
<v Speaker 1>playing Poco, Pia.
<v Speaker 2>Poker beer you met Copia. I always say, I don't
<v Speaker 2>think it would have helped.
<v Speaker 1>Poker and beer does sound pretty good. Now I'm just
<v Speaker 1>trying to think how that works. I don't think it
<v Speaker 1>would have helped if I had pronounced it correctly. Give
<v Speaker 1>it to me again, Copia. I know you've been loving Pocopia. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I know that wasn't going to help. It's it's the
<v Speaker 1>latest switch to release. Oh okay, yeah, So I I
<v Speaker 1>want to cover some of that stuff a little bit
<v Speaker 1>because I want to see your reactions to some of
<v Speaker 1>the newer stuff and get your thoughts on that. But
<v Speaker 1>for the most part, I just want to hang out
<v Speaker 1>with you today and chat with you about your interests
<v Speaker 1>about the last twenty years this year on YouTube, right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's crazy. Well, the channel will become twenty years
<v Speaker 3>old this April. Oh, congratulations exactly. That's I mean, I
<v Speaker 3>don't even know where to begin. Like what you I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you pioneered video games on YouTube. I mean, that's that's undisputable.
<v Speaker 3>I mean we had Scott in here a couple episodes ago,
<v Speaker 3>and it's it's funny having YouTube back to back because
<v Speaker 3>a lot of people call Scott your son, but that's where.
<v Speaker 2>My dad's name is Scott. Whoa.
<v Speaker 1>There's definitely something there. Scott will tell anybody that he
<v Speaker 1>was heavily influenced by you. I mean his content speaks
<v Speaker 1>to that. It's it's a very similar structure and concept,
<v Speaker 1>which is why you and him and I know that's
<v Speaker 1>why it was an honor for him to get to
<v Speaker 1>work with you too. And you've made a bunch of videos.
<v Speaker 1>Your last video on your channel was with Scott, that's right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. And I was going to say, I don't know
<v Speaker 2>if it's a spoiler, but yeah, Scott.
<v Speaker 1>Scott obviously was in town a couple of weeks ago.
<v Speaker 1>We know that here at the podcast. So I think
<v Speaker 1>YouTube did a little something. And I mean, you influenced
<v Speaker 1>so many people, So I mean, I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I don't think even though I wouldn't say
<v Speaker 1>I was directly influenced by you to begin with, I
<v Speaker 1>was definitely Game Chaser influenced and Retroliberty influenced. I mean
<v Speaker 1>those guys were influenced by you, you know. And then
<v Speaker 1>as my content grew and I got more into YouTube,
<v Speaker 1>I shifted towards reviews and I started adding skits into
<v Speaker 1>my content. So definitely grandfathered in. Did you get did
<v Speaker 1>you get anything from YouTube this year? Because I saw
<v Speaker 1>some creators that were on the platform for twenty years
<v Speaker 1>got a gift?
<v Speaker 2>Oh really, Okay, I've heard it. Yeah, Oh maybe maybe
<v Speaker 2>soon next? What what made you?
<v Speaker 1>And I know you probably get this question all the time,
<v Speaker 1>and I just I want to ask it quickly. You
<v Speaker 1>don't have to go into crazy detail, but what what
<v Speaker 1>gave you the idea to do what you did on
<v Speaker 1>YouTube in two thousand and six before anybody else?
<v Speaker 2>Oh let's see.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so every time I answered, I kind of try
<v Speaker 3>to answer it differently, and I kind of re evaluated
<v Speaker 3>every time I think back to it, like, well I
<v Speaker 3>did I because sometimes it runs a little deeper. I
<v Speaker 3>mean when I created the first two nerd videos, I
<v Speaker 3>had just graduated college and everything was really serious, and
<v Speaker 3>it was always like, you know, putting all this effort
<v Speaker 3>into you know, I spent a whole year working on
<v Speaker 3>one senior film because that's what you do, your your
<v Speaker 3>senior thesis is your last year. And after all that
<v Speaker 3>and all the hard work that went into it, I
<v Speaker 3>was like, I just want to do something just fun
<v Speaker 3>for a moment, something really and who would have known
<v Speaker 3>then I kind of turned into this whole thing. But
<v Speaker 3>that even then it the first two episodes were two
<v Speaker 3>thousand and four, so they just sat on the shelf,
<v Speaker 3>and then two thousand and six YouTube is here and
<v Speaker 3>launched some time I think early two thousand and six,
<v Speaker 3>So then yeah, everything just took off. You never really
<v Speaker 3>know what new technology is going to come or what
<v Speaker 3>new platform, so you just be in the right place
<v Speaker 3>at the right time. So who knows what's coming next?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, sure, Well I think TikTok already took that man
<v Speaker 1>recent many things.
<v Speaker 2>Probably that makes sense.
<v Speaker 4>I mean you originally started doing like reviews for like
<v Speaker 4>Screw Attack, right, and then eventually like did you pull
<v Speaker 4>them off and then put them on your YouTube channel?
<v Speaker 2>Kind of started with.
<v Speaker 3>YouTube where I guess I'll start with the VHS tapes,
<v Speaker 3>then I'll start with YouTube. Then on Screw Attack we
<v Speaker 3>would premiere them, so that came after I think, but
<v Speaker 3>I think by the Ninja Turtles episode they were on
<v Speaker 3>screw Attack first YouTube like a week later, and then
<v Speaker 3>through Screw Attack, I got to deal with game Trailers,
<v Speaker 3>which was a Viacom owned site, and then they would
<v Speaker 3>That was the first time he became a paying job.
<v Speaker 3>So basically I was working for Viacom for a while
<v Speaker 3>and since then things have been a little more independent
<v Speaker 3>since then, after all the years I've gone by, and
<v Speaker 3>then I just do it directly on YouTube, yeh, and
<v Speaker 3>working with Screenwave, which is a you know, independent company
<v Speaker 3>more like mom and pop, you know. So yeah, that's
<v Speaker 3>kind of the whole trajectory of everything.
<v Speaker 1>We were Sally and I, I mean, how long you've
<v Speaker 1>been doing YouTube for now?
<v Speaker 4>So my channel is fifteen years old this year, but
<v Speaker 4>I've been doing it since like two thousand and nine, so.
<v Speaker 1>Where I'm thirteen or fourteen years in or something I
<v Speaker 1>started in twenty thirteen. And something that Sally and I
<v Speaker 1>found most interesting about you and your career is you've
<v Speaker 1>been through every single possible YouTube algorithm change or anything
<v Speaker 1>that shifted, and that you've been through literally every single
<v Speaker 1>visual layout too, Like, yeah, have you like found one
<v Speaker 1>of the changes more challenging than the other. Was there
<v Speaker 1>ever a point where you had to shift what you
<v Speaker 1>were doing? I mean it's more challenging now.
<v Speaker 3>Like before, I think we were able to rely more
<v Speaker 3>on just the ad revenue, and now it's more brand
<v Speaker 3>deals we have to sell, like do a commercial, like
<v Speaker 3>direct to the advertiser. So YouTube has changed a lot
<v Speaker 3>over the years. So yeah, it is definitely a lot
<v Speaker 3>harder now, especially if you're starting a channel now, I
<v Speaker 3>can imagine it must be very I.
<v Speaker 1>Can't imagine doing a Yeah, people ask me a lot,
<v Speaker 1>like you know, these conventions and you get asked like
<v Speaker 1>what what do you recommend for a new creator? And
<v Speaker 1>I always say short form At this point, I say TikTok,
<v Speaker 1>I say Instagram because and starting a YouTube video with
<v Speaker 1>long form content now, like especially like, you know, if
<v Speaker 1>they want to get into doing retro nes reviews and
<v Speaker 1>stuff like that, like I can't imagine, which I think
<v Speaker 1>also speaks to like how impressive your career is to
<v Speaker 1>gash you up, because not only have you been doing
<v Speaker 1>it for twenty years, but consistently the same thing and
<v Speaker 1>still very successful, like more successful at what you're doing
<v Speaker 1>in the tried and trued formula than most other channels today.
<v Speaker 2>That's how do you feel about that? Oh? Thank you.
<v Speaker 3>It's strange because it's like my life has changed a
<v Speaker 3>lot over the past twenty years of but the videos haven't.
<v Speaker 3>So that's the one constant that I always have that
<v Speaker 3>I can always go back to. So it's like every
<v Speaker 3>time I put on the NERD uniform and go into
<v Speaker 3>the whole thing, it's I just feel like it's it's
<v Speaker 3>reliving the exact same moment in time as it's always been.
<v Speaker 1>It's really cool though, because you get to like keep living.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not in the past, I guess, but it's like
<v Speaker 1>your present never changes. Yeah, get to keep doing what
<v Speaker 1>you love. Was it now? Was it a choice? Was it?
<v Speaker 2>Was it a challenging choice? To grow a beard? I
<v Speaker 2>got tired of shaving it.
<v Speaker 1>Its I like, because you do look way more badass,
<v Speaker 1>like walking in with the leather jacket too, huge contrast
<v Speaker 1>from what you have on the thumb. Now, well, this guy,
<v Speaker 1>I mean he's not just a YouTube but you're also
<v Speaker 1>in a band.
<v Speaker 2>You're in rex Vipa, which is your band rank? Like,
<v Speaker 2>did you start that basically? I mean it was me
<v Speaker 2>and uh.
<v Speaker 3>I remember discussing it with some of the guys at
<v Speaker 3>screenway before, like it was kind of just this idea,
<v Speaker 3>you know. I was talking with Justin and Kieran back
<v Speaker 3>in the day, like, hey, let's start this band. It
<v Speaker 3>sounds like a cool thing. And then I remember talking
<v Speaker 3>to Adam who's the bass player in the band Square Painter,
<v Speaker 3>and yeah, we were in Portland actually we were just
<v Speaker 3>talking about before they said, Uh, I brought the idea
<v Speaker 3>to him and he goes, why the fuck are we
<v Speaker 3>not doing this right?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? That sounds like yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And I was working with James Ronald for a long
<v Speaker 3>time too epic game music. He was doing a lot
<v Speaker 3>of the same tracks.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so you hear a lot of music he's done
<v Speaker 3>in the Nerd episodes a lot of times. And then
<v Speaker 3>we reached out to him, and then he connected us
<v Speaker 3>with James Harding and then and everything just kind of
<v Speaker 3>fell in the plays and then I met Brad and Dino,
<v Speaker 3>but Dino the weird weird saying, you know the keyboards.
<v Speaker 3>I went to school with him back in a ninety
<v Speaker 3>nine two thousand year. That was at the freshman year
<v Speaker 3>of college, and it was kind of cool to just
<v Speaker 3>kind of like, you.
<v Speaker 1>Know, bring it all back. Yeah, very cool. And you
<v Speaker 1>did a movie. Yeah, you made a movie, which, by
<v Speaker 1>the way, I was look at what that was twenty fourteen.
<v Speaker 2>We released it. We finished in twenty fourteen and released it.
<v Speaker 1>Which is crazy to think that that was only eight
<v Speaker 1>years of doing YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>You jumped into a movie. Oh yeah, yeah, I guess.
<v Speaker 2>So that's pretty cool. Are you a film major? Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>in college, I was a film major. Yeah, that's like
<v Speaker 2>your passion. Yeah, of course, videos and stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>It was kind of like, you know, if I wasn't
<v Speaker 3>playing Nintendo or something, I was just messing around with
<v Speaker 3>a video camera. Yeah, And I remember my parents would
<v Speaker 3>sometimes the rent a video camera or borrow it from
<v Speaker 3>somebody for our birthdays and events like that. Back then,
<v Speaker 3>it was such a big deal to have something like
<v Speaker 3>that that I could record, you could record yourself and
<v Speaker 3>play it back. That was crazy back then. It was
<v Speaker 3>such a novel idea, and they were so expensive that
<v Speaker 3>we couldn't really I wasn't allowed to touch it really
<v Speaker 3>because something would happen to it. But then eventually they
<v Speaker 3>started to come down in price, I think, and then
<v Speaker 3>they had the Compact HSC cameras, and when that came out,
<v Speaker 3>my mom got it as a graduation gift actually, and
<v Speaker 3>then I started you know, borrowing it kind of, and
<v Speaker 3>and as time went on, it gradually became.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, right, what was the first thing you ever filmed? Like,
<v Speaker 1>what did you start like filming on a camera?
<v Speaker 3>It was super eight. I can make myself sound older actually,
<v Speaker 3>Uh yes, super eight. We would film uh some stuff
<v Speaker 3>on that and I remember you wouldn't get to see
<v Speaker 3>it for a while because you'd have to send the
<v Speaker 3>film out get developed and you know. But yeah, a
<v Speaker 3>lot of my early films were all eight millimeter but
<v Speaker 3>nothing worth, you know, I didn't make movies or anything.
<v Speaker 2>They were just like crap. But uh.
<v Speaker 3>That when the video camera came out again, it was
<v Speaker 3>just all experiments, all just kind of just goofy stuff
<v Speaker 3>and then as time went on, it just got more.
<v Speaker 2>And more serious.
<v Speaker 3>Yea, and yeah, so it was just kind of like
<v Speaker 3>a steady or a you know, gradual kind of evolution.
<v Speaker 1>I had a similar thing we had my friend had
<v Speaker 1>a video camera and we just started doing stupid little
<v Speaker 1>skits and like music videos, and eventually they got more
<v Speaker 1>and more complicated, and we were like should we put
<v Speaker 1>these on YouTube? And then that's ow it all. And
<v Speaker 1>I remember I made my channel in twenty thirteen, and
<v Speaker 1>I remember at the time thinking I'm too late to this.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, you know, this has been around two thousand and six.
<v Speaker 4>It was primetime for like gaming creators of people, it was,
<v Speaker 4>But I just remember feeling at the time. I was
<v Speaker 4>like I was looking at channels like yours, Game Chases,
<v Speaker 4>Metal Jesus and all these like one hundred thousand million subchannels,
<v Speaker 4>and I'm like, what am I going to do in
<v Speaker 4>twenty thirteen?
<v Speaker 2>The future? It was also like taken over YouTube at
<v Speaker 2>that time.
<v Speaker 1>And perspectively though YouTube was on there like eight years
<v Speaker 1>old that yeah, I was still seven years old, which
<v Speaker 1>is kind of crazy to think about. Yeah, but what
<v Speaker 1>I love about a lot of what you do with
<v Speaker 1>your content too I mean your movie was based around
<v Speaker 1>like et phenomenon, which was you know, obviously borrowed off
<v Speaker 1>the back of you covering the game on your channel.
<v Speaker 1>Then when you made your own games, which that's the
<v Speaker 1>next thing. You have band, you have movie, you have YouTube,
<v Speaker 1>and then you have three video games, all of which
<v Speaker 1>are on the switch. Yeah, yeah, you have you can
<v Speaker 1>show my screen.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Angry video game Nord one and two Deluxe were your
<v Speaker 1>first ones we were talking. They were released somewhere around
<v Speaker 1>twenty twelve and twenty fourteen, something like that. And then
<v Speaker 1>last year in October, you released this one Angry video
<v Speaker 1>game Nord a bit which is a very mega man
<v Speaker 1>by it and all of it is baked in with
<v Speaker 1>your humor and with references from your shows and your career,
<v Speaker 1>and it's like everything just comes together, and like everything
<v Speaker 1>that you do to incorporate video games and your brand
<v Speaker 1>and your identity, it's just so smart.
<v Speaker 2>It's so clever.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, thanks so much. Yeah, I take no credit for
<v Speaker 3>the design of the game. I mean everybody who worked
<v Speaker 3>on these that are really good job. I remember that
<v Speaker 3>the old ones with Sam Betto's Freak Zone games and
<v Speaker 3>then this one here retroware did it, and they the way. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>are they just like collectible different shells? Yeah, did different colors.
<v Speaker 3>Programancer did the like the design and everything of the game,
<v Speaker 3>and then uh Mega Cat Studios did the.
<v Speaker 1>The back says sorry I hadn't read it. Uh it
<v Speaker 1>says do not put cartridge and toaster, do not immerse
<v Speaker 1>in diarrhea, dumb clean with benz in a rolling rock
<v Speaker 1>or other such sulvents.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, or all your games based off of like references
<v Speaker 4>and jokes you make from your videos and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Like basically reference.
<v Speaker 3>I'm glad they put it in the like original type
<v Speaker 3>of Nintendo says retrowear on it. And they also have
<v Speaker 3>the instruction manual and I think even that little piece
<v Speaker 3>of styrofoam you remember in.
<v Speaker 2>The Nintendo game.
<v Speaker 3>So it's like they made it really legit. So it's
<v Speaker 3>literally a classic Nintendo game. Yeah, that's awesome.
<v Speaker 1>So now that I've I've gassed you up for ten
<v Speaker 1>to fifteen straight minutes, which I was contractually obligated to
<v Speaker 1>do part of your part of your visit, do you.
<v Speaker 2>Want to talk about some stuff? Oh? Sure, stuff, Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>go for it.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I'd love to know, I mean, right now and
<v Speaker 1>for you guys watching you you Patreons. The bonus episode
<v Speaker 1>today is going to be all about Pacopia. We're going
<v Speaker 1>to like, did I say that right this time?
<v Speaker 2>Pedia? Sorry? I say it wrong every time.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna gotcha about that mostly in the bonus episode
<v Speaker 1>we won't subject James to it, but I would like
<v Speaker 1>to know what is your relationship like with the switch
<v Speaker 1>and the switch too, like the current generation? Oh yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>because I look through your channel and there is there's
<v Speaker 1>only one video on your whole channel that even mentions
<v Speaker 1>the switch to and it's your abgen game coming to
<v Speaker 1>Switch too, So what is your current relationship?
<v Speaker 2>Do you have a do you have a switch to?
<v Speaker 2>I do? Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like in general, I feel like if you
<v Speaker 3>don't own a switch at all, it's probably a good
<v Speaker 3>idea to get a switch to. But if you already
<v Speaker 3>have a switch, I'm not so sure of getting a
<v Speaker 3>switch to is that necessary? But I did get a
<v Speaker 3>switch to. It was a special arrangement with the children
<v Speaker 3>and everything because you had to switch though, right, we
<v Speaker 3>had a switch okay, And actually was kind of funny
<v Speaker 3>their opinion of it after having gotten it there like, well,
<v Speaker 3>this isn't that special?
<v Speaker 2>I was telling you Mario Kart and Donkey Kong Bonanza.
<v Speaker 2>Oh we did?
<v Speaker 3>We actually beat Donkey Kong Bonanza.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we really loved that one. The final boss pissed
<v Speaker 2>me off. It's diff it's difficult.
<v Speaker 1>I had to help my god son beat that one
<v Speaker 1>because it was the only thing in the whole game
<v Speaker 1>he couldn't do.
<v Speaker 2>He got there and he just couldn't beat that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's tough, especially if because I think he did
<v Speaker 1>a lot of just like skipping to the end. And
<v Speaker 1>if you do that that last fight, I'm actually for
<v Speaker 1>sure it bites you. I actually talk because when I
<v Speaker 1>tried to help him, I was like, my god, We've
<v Speaker 1>got to go grind some bananas, Like I can't do this.
<v Speaker 2>This is too hot. So you like okay, so you
<v Speaker 2>guys like Donkey Kong. Oh the music? I love the
<v Speaker 2>music in that game.
<v Speaker 3>There's like all the different animals that you get, like
<v Speaker 3>the elephant.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, Zebra Zebra that when you play?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, like why is there not an official soundtrack to
<v Speaker 3>that game? Could Rex Spiper cover one that?
<v Speaker 2>You know what?
<v Speaker 1>Deebra you would love to Yeah you should. What about
<v Speaker 1>Mario Ca? So you like Mari Yeah, yeah, yeah, we
<v Speaker 1>love that, you know, playing that a lot.
<v Speaker 2>Well, your kids might like. Is Pcopia Nintendo product?
<v Speaker 1>Like, yeah, it's Pokemon. Hey, okay, it's not. It's not
<v Speaker 1>one of their mainline games. It's one of us spin
<v Speaker 1>off but it's more of like an Animal Crossing type
<v Speaker 1>of vibe.
<v Speaker 2>Did you ever play Animal I kind of get it now.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, uh we did actually a while ago.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, we're gonna talk about it in a bonus
<v Speaker 1>episode which we won't subject you to, as I said,
<v Speaker 1>but I know I don't know about Sally actually, but
<v Speaker 1>me and Night have been addicted.
<v Speaker 2>Have you been addicted? So all last week I was
<v Speaker 2>so busy.
<v Speaker 4>I was actually out of town for a couple of days,
<v Speaker 4>so I didn't get a chance to play it yet.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I'm gonna wait till next week. You're gonna I
<v Speaker 2>feel like you're gonna like it. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>So it's it's like Minecraft Light mixed with Pokemon mixed
<v Speaker 1>with Animal Crossing and the game I was talking about
<v Speaker 1>it last week on the show. I didn't realize how
<v Speaker 1>big this game is because they do like a cool
<v Speaker 1>nintender thing of like, you know, did you ever play
<v Speaker 1>Teas of the Kingdom?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we beat that one also.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, when you're playing and like you find
<v Speaker 1>the depths and it's like they didn't promote that at
<v Speaker 1>all or talk about it at all, and you just
<v Speaker 1>found it while you were playing, and it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>this game is massive and really hit a lot of that.
<v Speaker 1>This game did a similar thing where they really only
<v Speaker 1>show you like this like beginning area and they're like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>cute Pokemon, Oh like the what you can do, But
<v Speaker 1>then you find out they are multiple ma massive worlds
<v Speaker 1>and it's like a big expanding story And I don't
<v Speaker 1>know if you have any interest in.
<v Speaker 3>This, you know what, it looks familiar. I think they
<v Speaker 3>might have played it. I'm looking at they just came out.
<v Speaker 3>It came out weeks ago. It's like very okay, probably
<v Speaker 3>earlier Pokemon game.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. It also has like a like an art style
<v Speaker 2>that is very familiar. Maybe let's it's very animal crossing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Anyway, this is like the hot new thing. It's
<v Speaker 1>actually it's rated like a ninety on Medical. It was
<v Speaker 1>at which is like the highest rated. What's bonanzare at? Now?
<v Speaker 1>I think Bonanza is like pretty close to that, but
<v Speaker 1>I think this is the highest rated like switch to
<v Speaker 1>games and the highest rated Pokemon.
<v Speaker 2>Games whole time.
<v Speaker 1>That's cool because we were looking for something there because
<v Speaker 1>we after don Yeah, yeah, because we played Metroid Prime
<v Speaker 1>four and Metroid we didn't get very far.
<v Speaker 2>We eventually just gave up.
<v Speaker 3>I was gonna say, what do you think, Well, I
<v Speaker 3>didn't have this problem with Donkey Kong Bonanza, and we
<v Speaker 3>were just thinking, Okay, let's move on to the next
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo product, like something brand new, and this will be something.
<v Speaker 2>Find Sorry that was me.
<v Speaker 1>I never had this problem where I had to every
<v Speaker 1>like every five minutes, I'd have to look it up
<v Speaker 1>to see like what to do next because I can't
<v Speaker 1>figure out what to do? Okay, and then I'm like, eventually,
<v Speaker 1>like this isn't fun anymore because I'm just so stumped
<v Speaker 1>all time.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, why am I getting stumped?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's I mean, they some of it isn't intuitive.
<v Speaker 1>There is that NPC that yells at you all the
<v Speaker 1>time if you're not doing the right thing, that tries
<v Speaker 1>to nudge.
<v Speaker 2>You in the right direction, tries to but yeah, but
<v Speaker 2>the game's not I hated it.
<v Speaker 1>I have an hour long video on my channel where
<v Speaker 1>I just kind of tore it apart, so I'm right
<v Speaker 1>there with you.
<v Speaker 2>Trust me.
<v Speaker 1>It only gets worse and completely avoided. Like the whole
<v Speaker 1>back quarter of the game is just grinding out, boring. Pointly,
<v Speaker 1>you didn't miss anything, Okay, so that's disappointing, but yeah,
<v Speaker 1>yeah it is. Well, then, what would you say, is
<v Speaker 1>like your favorite error and generation of Nintendo experience because
<v Speaker 1>you've been I mean, I sorry, I got you a question.
<v Speaker 1>I was going to say I was born alongside the
<v Speaker 1>NES but I did grow up with it, but I
<v Speaker 1>wasn't really like super conscious. You've been through it all.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I mean it was just Atari when I
<v Speaker 3>was a kid. Yeah, but uh, Nintendo was huge. It
<v Speaker 3>was just like the first time playing Super Mario Brothers.
<v Speaker 3>I just remember getting to the end of level one
<v Speaker 3>thinking that was the end of the game.
<v Speaker 1>Wait a minute, wild to me because I had that
<v Speaker 1>with Karina on sixty four because I only played any
<v Speaker 1>S games, So to think that you had that with nys.
<v Speaker 2>Coming here, Sorry, Yeah, that's wild.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, just the fact the screen scrolled and there's more,
<v Speaker 3>it's like, oh, wait a minute, just the fact you
<v Speaker 3>could pause the game.
<v Speaker 2>That was crazy to think about that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but I remember Superintendo more actually, like I feel
<v Speaker 3>like that one was that was really my prime system Superintendo. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>because I think I was more aware when that one
<v Speaker 3>came out. It was like, Okay, this is the next level.
<v Speaker 3>I never even heard of that, like a sequel to
<v Speaker 3>a console that was new. Yeah, and having to explain
<v Speaker 3>to parents why you were you needed to have another Nintendo,
<v Speaker 3>Like well, don't you already have a Nintendo's Like no,
<v Speaker 3>this is Super Nintendo.
<v Speaker 2>That Nintendo games that can play it on the Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>And that's why some many people would like they would
<v Speaker 1>just label it generally as just a Nintendo. They didn't
<v Speaker 1>know it was a Super Nintendo and then sixty four
<v Speaker 1>and anything like that.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, yeah, the Super Nintendo.
<v Speaker 1>I get it because like that that that console had
<v Speaker 1>some of the best games to this day, and it
<v Speaker 1>was just before they went like three D and like
<v Speaker 1>the sixty four graphics have not aged that well. So
<v Speaker 1>even like the great games from back then, like either
<v Speaker 1>the graphics or the controls like Double O seven for example,
<v Speaker 1>you know hasn't aged the best, but Supernintendo has aged
<v Speaker 1>so Nomine Wine and they're making like indie games now
<v Speaker 1>and then like in like the games that look like
<v Speaker 1>Super Nintendo games and just polishing up the visuals because
<v Speaker 1>it's such like it's timeless. Seah, I get that, and yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I get that if it helps anything. My my first
<v Speaker 1>console was the WI, so I'm a bit on the
<v Speaker 1>how old do you think that guy? Yeah, take a
<v Speaker 1>wild guest kind of first consoles the WI that's based
<v Speaker 1>on his visuals. Yeah, take a while. Twenty five close, Okay.
<v Speaker 2>I'll take that.
<v Speaker 1>Twenty three right, a little running gag because when we
<v Speaker 1>started the show, everyone thought that he was older them. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>you're nineteen ninety right, I'm ninety three, ninety three, I'm
<v Speaker 1>ninety ninety so I like the same.
<v Speaker 2>Two so I'm the youngest here.
<v Speaker 1>But even then, like, I see what you mean in
<v Speaker 1>terms of like kind of being wowed by like something
<v Speaker 1>that you could never really experience on a game car
<v Speaker 1>console before, like being able to pause. I feel like
<v Speaker 1>for me, like even going back and playing some of
<v Speaker 1>the then as the sny S, the N sixty four,
<v Speaker 1>I think I have much more of an appreciation for
<v Speaker 1>them because if it were for them, we wouldn't be
<v Speaker 1>at the wee point. And even further than that, switch
<v Speaker 1>to and you know more consoles like that. So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>really cool. Mm hmm, okay. I have a couple of
<v Speaker 1>questions of things that, like, I want to get your
<v Speaker 1>thoughts on that we talk about on this show a
<v Speaker 1>lot recently on your channel, you did a whole conversation.
<v Speaker 1>It was a it was a it was a refreshed
<v Speaker 1>conversation with Scott on Digital Verse streaming kind of.
<v Speaker 2>In that vein.
<v Speaker 1>I was wondering what you think of gamekey cuts now
<v Speaker 1>on switch to what's your thoughts on these as far
<v Speaker 1>as like video game preservation goes or just buying seventy
<v Speaker 1>dollars to get a game a game key cut that
<v Speaker 1>has no data on it?
<v Speaker 2>Do you have any opinion? Key card? Is it just
<v Speaker 2>like a card with that just has various games on it? No?
<v Speaker 2>So with me. So Nintendo's first party games are all
<v Speaker 2>on the cartridge. That contridge is like sixty four gigs.
<v Speaker 1>It just contains the game, so years from now you
<v Speaker 1>can stick that in and play it. Games like this,
<v Speaker 1>which is fun of fantasy is a game key card.
<v Speaker 1>It's a one megabyte cartridge essentially that proxies a download
<v Speaker 1>and then you download the whole game. So the game
<v Speaker 1>actually isn't on this cartridge, but it is a physical cartridge.
<v Speaker 2>Interesting, so what do you do with that?
<v Speaker 1>After you you still have to use it. It acts
<v Speaker 1>just like a physical cost. So every time you want
<v Speaker 1>to play, you got to put it back in. Wow,
<v Speaker 1>so you take it out and that like disables.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, essentially.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, So I guess the only purpose for it really
<v Speaker 4>is if you're trying to resell the game.
<v Speaker 2>That's how I see it at least. But it's still
<v Speaker 2>a digital copy. Yeah, I don't see if. I don't
<v Speaker 2>know if I get the point, because.
<v Speaker 4>So it's a digital copy, but you need the key
<v Speaker 4>card to access the digital version of the game. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>and it's like that the key card works, is like
<v Speaker 4>the initiator to load it up.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I just wonder, like what's the point? It's like, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I remember when there was when.
<v Speaker 3>I used to edit on Avid, it was like like
<v Speaker 3>that at the time, I guess the industry standard video
<v Speaker 3>editing software, and I remember having that you had to
<v Speaker 3>have a dongle with They called it a dongle. It
<v Speaker 3>was basically the same concept that's a key it's a USB.
<v Speaker 3>It actually sucks because it would take up a USB
<v Speaker 3>port on your but you'd have to put that in
<v Speaker 3>to use the software. And then I remember Final Cut
<v Speaker 3>didn't have that, and I was like, well, wait a minute,
<v Speaker 3>it has no dongle, Like.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, that's awesome. Why would I need a dongle?
<v Speaker 4>Makes sense, probably to prevent people from like cracking it
<v Speaker 4>and like, you know, being able to use the software illegally,
<v Speaker 4>like pirate and whatnot.
<v Speaker 2>For sure, Yeah, I guess, yeah, but that's that's the
<v Speaker 2>way they handled it back then. I suppose.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>The reason why Nintendo did this is because like this
<v Speaker 1>game's ninety gigs, so it just it wouldn't fit on
<v Speaker 1>any cattridge anyway. So this was their solution. But interesting,
<v Speaker 1>it's a big talking point in the community because essentially
<v Speaker 1>there's no way of owning the game physical, so you know,
<v Speaker 1>at some point when goes down or we lose access
<v Speaker 1>the digital games, it's not the same as when we
<v Speaker 1>have the collections.
<v Speaker 2>You know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's right, that the any the countries just have
<v Speaker 1>like disc rot is a thing, right or like cottage degregation, degregation,
<v Speaker 1>what's the estimated timeline on that.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know about the cartridges, but I do know
<v Speaker 3>that a lot of my DVDs at least don't play anymore.
<v Speaker 2>Really, I don't know that. Oh you want? You know
<v Speaker 2>some really crazy is the Virtual Boy? I tried.
<v Speaker 3>I tried to get that thing to work recently because
<v Speaker 3>I wanted to show up my young youngest child because
<v Speaker 3>he was interested in VR and stuff, and I was like,
<v Speaker 3>you want to see what VR looked like back in
<v Speaker 3>my day? And the Virtual Boy? Now the screen is
<v Speaker 3>all glitchy. So the thing is, when I made the episode,
<v Speaker 3>it still worked. So it was like more time has
<v Speaker 3>passed between the review of it than when the thing
<v Speaker 3>actually came out.
<v Speaker 2>So that's the time that killed it, between the review
<v Speaker 2>and now.
<v Speaker 4>No.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I feel like I need to turn mine on
<v Speaker 1>and check mine. Now did you see that they re released.
<v Speaker 2>The Virtual Boy? Oh? I did? Actually, yeah, you could
<v Speaker 2>grab that and show them that. I guess.
<v Speaker 1>It's kind of cool. You know how it works? They
<v Speaker 1>really it's identical. One for one, it looks exactly the same,
<v Speaker 1>but the internals are missing and you just slide the
<v Speaker 1>switch to or the switch one into it and then
<v Speaker 1>it plays it on the switch and you just stare
<v Speaker 1>into the red Oh it's actually pretty cool. Well, it's
<v Speaker 1>as cool as.
<v Speaker 2>Cold as it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, but it reproduces the three d BA, so
<v Speaker 1>if you wanted to show them, you could do that.
<v Speaker 2>Gigabar mine.
<v Speaker 1>All right, So that's a lot of like current nintender,
<v Speaker 1>we don't have to go on and on about that.
<v Speaker 1>I am curious on a few things because your channel.
<v Speaker 1>Something I love about your channel that I would I
<v Speaker 1>don't think i'd ever have the balls to do personally,
<v Speaker 1>is to break away from what the channel, I guess
<v Speaker 1>is more known for and just do something that's purely
<v Speaker 1>your hobby and for fun, which I would say is
<v Speaker 1>like your your reviews of your movies and a lot
<v Speaker 1>of like nineteen fifty months to movies, and you did
<v Speaker 1>a whole video when You'll love for film Noir. And
<v Speaker 1>what made you stop wanting to do that? Was it
<v Speaker 1>purely just you wanted to change or you just you
<v Speaker 1>had this passionate love you wanted to share.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, back as a kid, I would, I didn't. I
<v Speaker 3>didn't have the Internet, so I didn't have like connection
<v Speaker 3>with people to talk about like uh, I didn't really
<v Speaker 3>get a chance to meet many people who appreciate the
<v Speaker 3>same films. I don't know anybody else who liked Godzilla
<v Speaker 3>by the way, and now it seems like everybody.
<v Speaker 1>All of a sudden not the original, but it seems
<v Speaker 1>like a bit of stolen ballot, because even I love
<v Speaker 1>Godzilla now and I've seen like two movies.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So at the time, I was basically putting like a
<v Speaker 3>book together. This was back in the nineties actually, just
<v Speaker 3>like it was almost like a scrap book because I
<v Speaker 3>didn't have any right to print it, but I was
<v Speaker 3>I was like doing photo copies at the library to
<v Speaker 3>get the image as I needed, and I was like,
<v Speaker 3>you know, printing it out, typing out my own reviews,
<v Speaker 3>saving them on floppy discs, all that. And I remember
<v Speaker 3>putting this book together. I think it was called like
<v Speaker 3>the Classic Monsters. It was a very simple title, and
<v Speaker 3>I never did exactly finish the book or even get
<v Speaker 3>it published in any way.
<v Speaker 2>But I did make.
<v Speaker 3>Monster Madness, so that was kind of like me completing
<v Speaker 3>that childhood idea but in a video form.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. So yeah, yeah, so.
<v Speaker 3>Basically just reviews of movies and yeah, what's your favorite
<v Speaker 3>monster movie? Oh man, well, you know King Kong. I
<v Speaker 3>guess that's my second favorite film ever. So yeah, okay, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I I want to say I my friend Billy who
<v Speaker 1>you two have so much in common?
<v Speaker 2>Did you did you guys get a chance to talk
<v Speaker 2>about that?
<v Speaker 1>Because he loves those Billy Chaser, He loved those monster movies.
<v Speaker 1>He had so many of those monster movies. He was
<v Speaker 1>showing his son a bunch. There was one he had
<v Speaker 1>just bought that was like this giant spider. And then
<v Speaker 1>also his his love for movies too, because he was
<v Speaker 1>inspired by you two.
<v Speaker 2>Oh wow, to make his movie obviously.
<v Speaker 3>Oh that's amazing. Yeah. Then a few times at conventions, Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I saw a picture of you guys. You like double
<v Speaker 3>screen movies together?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we did. Yeah, the the game Chaser game. That
<v Speaker 2>was cool. Brendon, what time are we at?
<v Speaker 1>I can't hear you if you said anything, No, No,
<v Speaker 1>we're at Okay, do you want to roll the sponsor
<v Speaker 1>and then we'll get back in perfect.
<v Speaker 2>Let's do it.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you so much, and now a word from our sponsor.
<v Speaker 1>Oh wait, you told me that I was going to
<v Speaker 1>do it, And now a word from our sponsor. This
<v Speaker 1>episode of the Non Tender Podcast is sponsored by Cloud
<v Speaker 1>Leopard Entertainment, the publishers of the hit game which is
<v Speaker 1>actually it's really good back to the Dawn, which the
<v Speaker 1>non tender have been playing. In fact, Sully has the game,
<v Speaker 1>has his game pulled up on his switch, Yes, and
<v Speaker 1>he's going to be playing a.
<v Speaker 2>Little bit of it while I tell you guys about it.
<v Speaker 1>So right now, Back to the Dawn is out on
<v Speaker 1>switch and switch to for the same price of thirty four.
<v Speaker 1>There's no switch to upgrade cost. It's just pure game.
<v Speaker 1>It's pure game. It's sixty hours of gameplay. If you're
<v Speaker 1>looking for the full completionist, that's a really good deal
<v Speaker 1>for this game. The best way I can describe it
<v Speaker 1>is if you've played a Disco Elysium.
<v Speaker 2>Have you guys seen that game?
<v Speaker 1>It's a lot like this game, both in its visual
<v Speaker 1>presentation but also in its concept where you're, well, the
<v Speaker 1>story is different here, But this like deep rich RPG
<v Speaker 1>where you have a lot of decisions in your dialogue
<v Speaker 1>and the things you do every day, and every conversation.
<v Speaker 4>You have matters, exactly, every single conversation, every answer you
<v Speaker 4>give also matters.
<v Speaker 2>Look at this. Look at this.
<v Speaker 1>So Back to Don't is a, as I said, a
<v Speaker 1>story rich APG set in a high security prison ruled
<v Speaker 1>by factions and buried secrets. So when you start the game,
<v Speaker 1>you get two options. You get to pick between Black
<v Speaker 1>Panther or Thomas the Fox, and one is like, one
<v Speaker 1>of them is an investigator and the other one's a journalist.
<v Speaker 2>Which one did you pick?
<v Speaker 4>So I was gonna choose the and I wanted to
<v Speaker 4>choose the investigator, but then they said his story was
<v Speaker 4>like hard and I was like, I kind of got
<v Speaker 4>hesitantd So I chose the journalist. And then you could
<v Speaker 4>choose between three different style journalists.
<v Speaker 2>Wow.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, So I'm assuming all three pads lead you to
<v Speaker 4>prison if you choose. Well, actually, I don't know because
<v Speaker 4>I was being a good Samaritan at the beginning of
<v Speaker 4>the game. I was trying to be bribed by a
<v Speaker 4>government official and then I said no, and then I
<v Speaker 4>got set up.
<v Speaker 2>They put drugs in my trunk.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I was set in a prison, so I think,
<v Speaker 1>no matter what, well, okay, you're gonna end up in prison.
<v Speaker 2>When that happened, I was like I should have probably not,
<v Speaker 2>you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, reminds me of lit little bit in that in
<v Speaker 1>this I haven't said, this is going to make sense
<v Speaker 1>until I explain it. But Madua's mask because every day
<v Speaker 1>in Majurea's mask, for example, all the characters are doing
<v Speaker 1>a certain thing and you kind of know where to
<v Speaker 1>expect them. It's kind of similar here. There are a
<v Speaker 1>lot of events that happen each day at a very
<v Speaker 1>specific time, and you have a journal to keep track
<v Speaker 1>of all of it as you go along, exactly back
<v Speaker 1>to the Dawn here on Steam has very positive and
<v Speaker 1>overwhelmingly positive reviews and five stars. It's a very well
<v Speaker 1>received game. And yeah, you can also grab it on Steam. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but obviously then ten no folks play on the switch. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but yeah, this game is getting a lot of love
<v Speaker 1>and rave reviews again, and a lot of like a
<v Speaker 1>lot of really cool like two D HD art style
<v Speaker 1>like here, like this shot is really gorgeous.
<v Speaker 4>Of Oh yeah, the city shots are incredible, especially the
<v Speaker 4>street view ones. It really does feel like you're in
<v Speaker 4>like a New York City style vibe or a Philly
<v Speaker 4>City style vibe.
<v Speaker 1>Boost All right, I got more to say here. Each
<v Speaker 1>storyline delivers over twenty hours of engrossing mystery where every
<v Speaker 1>choice matters. You navigate a prison ruled by three powerful games,
<v Speaker 1>interact with forty seven uniquely crafted inmates, and uncover layers
<v Speaker 1>of intrigue through dozens of memorable NPCs with over one
<v Speaker 1>hundred hand crafted quests, multiple escape routes, each with its
<v Speaker 1>own risks and rewards, several possible endings, and more than
<v Speaker 1>five hundred thousand words of gripping narrative, which, by the way,
<v Speaker 1>I saw there's also a Japanese option if you wanted it,
<v Speaker 1>and it's like cool, like they sound like badass in Japanese.
<v Speaker 1>So you can check out Back to the Dawn. It's
<v Speaker 1>out now on Switch and Switch to. I was telling
<v Speaker 1>my life about this game. Oh yeah, there's a demo
<v Speaker 1>as well. Oh it is, so they can check out
<v Speaker 1>the game if they want the demo. It's probably gonna
<v Speaker 1>be that first prison section. Yeah, I mean, that's I
<v Speaker 1>love when games have a demo. It's also like the confidence.
<v Speaker 1>We we like doing these interactive spots where we get
<v Speaker 1>to play the game a little bit and show it
<v Speaker 1>off while we talk about it. We had a lot
<v Speaker 1>of fun with the well, I don't know if I
<v Speaker 1>should mention another sponsor, but we had a lot of
<v Speaker 1>fun with the last one where you were playing the
<v Speaker 1>horror game, and I think a lot of people liked
<v Speaker 1>it too, so yeah. I have a lot of fun
<v Speaker 1>with these. So thank you Cloud Leopard for letting us
<v Speaker 1>do another one. Thank you guys for supporting the sponsor
<v Speaker 1>linked down below. And now we'll get back to the
<v Speaker 1>episode with James. I almost said, Jimmy, I don't know
<v Speaker 1>if I don't know if I like that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, Jimmy, that's good. Okay, back to the episode.
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad you couldn't hear the end of that because
<v Speaker 1>I caught you Jimmy, and I don't know if you.
<v Speaker 2>Would like being called Jimmy.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yes, while so while that was playing, we were
<v Speaker 1>over here in real time talking about something and I
<v Speaker 1>found it really interesting that you said that you still
<v Speaker 1>I know you still scripted a lot of your videos,
<v Speaker 1>but the fact that you still edit them I think
<v Speaker 1>is crazy after all this time, because I have passed
<v Speaker 1>ninety nine percent of that off at this point.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, Well, a lot of people do help with editing.
<v Speaker 3>We've a guy named Sean who edits a lot of them.
<v Speaker 3>I edit some of them. We kind of split up
<v Speaker 3>the editing work, and there's there are some videos where
<v Speaker 3>it's podge where it's like I'll edit whenever there's any
<v Speaker 3>effects or like a cinematic scene or something where it's
<v Speaker 3>you know, really specific to you know, my own vision.
<v Speaker 3>But then I'll hand it off to somebody to do
<v Speaker 3>color correction and tweaking and all the audio stuff that
<v Speaker 3>I don't want to deal with.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so it's it's it's.
<v Speaker 3>Easy, yeah, because when somebody else can take the rest
<v Speaker 3>of the editing away from you, then you're able to
<v Speaker 3>start writing the next one, and that keeps you going
<v Speaker 3>in an assembly line fashion.
<v Speaker 1>Well, also, you have kids now, yeah, and I imagine
<v Speaker 1>that that was probably a big shift and change in
<v Speaker 1>the way that you approach content, because I know that
<v Speaker 1>I've been going through that the last ten months.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you just had a kid, right, Yeah, Oh congrats,
<v Speaker 2>by the way, thank you.
<v Speaker 1>He's coming actually you say justin It does feel like
<v Speaker 1>just he's coming up on his first birthday wow, which
<v Speaker 1>is actually pretty crazy and kind of hot breaking, as
<v Speaker 1>you would know, for parent reasons, because you miss when
<v Speaker 1>they're like td.
<v Speaker 2>A one would Yeah, I don't know about that.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it was like as soon as one of them
<v Speaker 3>got got under control, than we had another one.
<v Speaker 2>What's what's under control?
<v Speaker 3>Well, not really much anymore, but it just seems like
<v Speaker 3>it's it'll be different problems as the year going, but refreshment.
<v Speaker 2>You're in the early phase. So what's uh, how's what's happening?
<v Speaker 1>Right?
<v Speaker 2>How's it going? Oh? Lord?
<v Speaker 1>I don't talk about this much in the episodes, so
<v Speaker 1>as you know, the first like few months is what
<v Speaker 1>they call the newborn trenches, right, And that's pretty brutal.
<v Speaker 1>I mean it's a lot of like figuring things out
<v Speaker 1>and like not getting any sleep. It kind of got
<v Speaker 1>easier for a bit. The little guy kind of figured
<v Speaker 1>out his own bedtime and he would sleep through the night,
<v Speaker 1>and but he was still in that like infancy stage
<v Speaker 1>of just like kind of like unaware of things and
<v Speaker 1>would just like sleep when you held him.
<v Speaker 2>It's really calm.
<v Speaker 1>Now he's in that crawling around Tyrn. Wants to yank
<v Speaker 1>on every outlet, wants to play with every remote and phone,
<v Speaker 1>doesn't want to touch his toys. It's incredibly fun and interesting,
<v Speaker 1>brightly colored and loud toys. He wants the silent TV
<v Speaker 1>remote and if he doesn't get it, he will scream.
<v Speaker 1>So that's where I am right now. Okay, yeah, your
<v Speaker 1>hair losing my hand? No like does yank your hair?
<v Speaker 1>My hair is up all the time now because he
<v Speaker 1>will yank. I was actually saying to Kim, I've been
<v Speaker 1>seeing myself with my hair up so much the last
<v Speaker 1>year that it looks weird to me down now, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm kind of thinking about just cutting it.
<v Speaker 2>Off, kind of like you gotta be it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, that's what's so why when you got to
<v Speaker 1>be It's why I asked that question because for me,
<v Speaker 1>a lot of my looks been my long hair this
<v Speaker 1>whole time, and I think about cutting it as like
<v Speaker 1>like will people stop watching?
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, it's a big change. Yeah, it goes way back.
<v Speaker 2>But I've been thinking, yeah, yeah, that's.
<v Speaker 3>The thing because like between episodes, like when I when
<v Speaker 3>somebody's not shaved for a while until the next time
<v Speaker 3>I filmed, but almost by habit, I shaved before I
<v Speaker 3>film almost all the time, and then last ball or whatever,
<v Speaker 3>I was just like, fuck.
<v Speaker 1>It, let's just see where it goes. And then the
<v Speaker 1>comments were probably like bid, looks good.
<v Speaker 2>So you just kept it? Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. So when am I out of the woodwork here
<v Speaker 1>with the little one, when does it get easier?
<v Speaker 2>Does it? It's just like new a new challenge time.
<v Speaker 3>It's just you're you're ascending the levels in a game,
<v Speaker 3>it's just going to become more brutalized. I mean it's like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>what what year's most bru I don't know anymore because
<v Speaker 3>it's brutal in different ways.
<v Speaker 1>But like, yeah, so when I'm around my godson he's
<v Speaker 1>eight now, so at like eight pm, his mom will
<v Speaker 1>be like, hey, go go take a shower and go
<v Speaker 1>to bed.
<v Speaker 2>And then he'll go take a shower and go to bed.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, So I mean like that's a lot easier that like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, my little guy starts screaming, we have to
<v Speaker 1>make him a bottle, give him a bath, you know.
<v Speaker 3>You know, I will say, as soon as the diapers
<v Speaker 3>are over, then okay, like you don't got to clean
<v Speaker 3>up somebody else's sht.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, how did you find as someone who's made a
<v Speaker 1>career of talking about ship, Oh, you find having to
<v Speaker 1>deal with it all the doctors.
<v Speaker 2>In real life. It's no fun.
<v Speaker 1>And actually sometimes like my wife will say, like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>why do you get so grossed out by that?
<v Speaker 2>Because that's what you talk about all the time, did you? Okay?
<v Speaker 1>I have I have so many things I could pivot
<v Speaker 1>on that one. Yeah, because I was gonna all right,
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna put it. I'm gonna ask this, put a
<v Speaker 1>pin in it, and go back to it. I forget
<v Speaker 1>because I was gonna say, when you had kids, did
<v Speaker 1>you start rethinking talking about that stuff in your videos.
<v Speaker 1>I'm just gonna ask that question. We weren't pin in it, So, okay,
<v Speaker 1>did you? Because I don't. Your content hasn't really changed
<v Speaker 1>that much. No, yeah, Like the process is exactly the same.
<v Speaker 3>Like you sit down, play the game, write notes, write
<v Speaker 3>the script, then film it and.
<v Speaker 2>Then move on to the editing.
<v Speaker 1>And however you split up the editing with people, then
<v Speaker 1>you know that's so when are you going to let
<v Speaker 1>your kids watch your videos? Or they already seen your videos?
<v Speaker 2>You know what? It's like.
<v Speaker 3>They both kind of approach it differently. The older one
<v Speaker 3>doesn't really you know, it's not really much of a thing.
<v Speaker 3>It doesn't really ask about it or anything. And but
<v Speaker 3>the younger one asks a lot of questions. It's curious, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>very curious about it, and I have to answer a
<v Speaker 3>lot of times. And she also sees all the things
<v Speaker 3>in the room. She sees like the plush dolls of me.
<v Speaker 3>She's like my face on all these day games, it
<v Speaker 3>kind of yeah, knows that it's a thing. Yeah, and
<v Speaker 3>you know, will very shyly ask questions about and everything.
<v Speaker 3>And but I have yet to actually show them any
<v Speaker 3>episodes because I'm not just going to put it on
<v Speaker 3>unless they ask.
<v Speaker 1>That is I guess it is a bit strange. I
<v Speaker 1>hate when people watch my content. Yeah, I can't imagine
<v Speaker 1>being different.
<v Speaker 3>And like the language is like, okay, Like if I'm
<v Speaker 3>just saying like fuck this game, like that's not not
<v Speaker 3>not really a big thing. But if I say like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>like what's behind that door, it's oh, it's this game's
<v Speaker 3>mom bent over getting fucked.
<v Speaker 2>It's like I don't want to explain. No, no, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>not now for sure. Yeah I could see that. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean I I try and stay family friendly
<v Speaker 1>in my content, which is funny too because I started
<v Speaker 1>doing that because I figured the algorithm would like it more.
<v Speaker 1>I meanwhile, there's you being super successful just with every
<v Speaker 1>sway you can possibly have.
<v Speaker 2>You dropped the C word in any episodes I have before.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and of course that word was it was never
<v Speaker 3>directed toward a person.
<v Speaker 2>There's more and more used. The way they'd stay in.
<v Speaker 1>The UK, Australia yeah, I'm big on the same in
<v Speaker 1>Australia off the internet.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, wow, but it's it's become yeah yeah, of
<v Speaker 3>course once again never directed toward an individual. Yeah yeah,
<v Speaker 3>but since it's become more of like a hateful kind
<v Speaker 3>of word, it's like, that's that's off the table now.
<v Speaker 4>We don't have you ever had to deal with any
<v Speaker 4>like limited add issues or anything like that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, because of that, I think actually I was.
<v Speaker 3>It was from a review of a led Zeppelin movie
<v Speaker 3>The song remains the same. There was a clip in
<v Speaker 3>there of their manager who would get very pissed off
<v Speaker 3>all the time, and he was shouting and he said
<v Speaker 3>the word, and then I think the video got demotized.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, clip YouTube doesn't like that one. That's like one
<v Speaker 1>of the only no no words that like made you
<v Speaker 1>reevaluate maybe the way you write your scripts or like
<v Speaker 1>just for that one.
<v Speaker 4>You never know, just using profanity like excessively in general,
<v Speaker 4>or like maybe some of the jokes.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, I mean a lot of.
<v Speaker 3>Times I do think, yeah, it's like, okay, well this
<v Speaker 3>video it's probably not gonna like I mean, I don't
<v Speaker 3>think like the algorithm is gonna like promote it as
<v Speaker 3>much with all the cursing in it, and and you
<v Speaker 3>always hear about that kind of thing on YouTube, like
<v Speaker 3>there was a big the swearing apocalypse or something.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, it was from the profanity like people using Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>you were allowed to use it within the first thirty
<v Speaker 4>you get.
<v Speaker 2>Like I remember that one. Yeah. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Even now, sometimes it'll be like, oh, this video is
<v Speaker 3>now eighteen and over.
<v Speaker 2>You have to say, yeah, bunch kid friendly or anything. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So I do think about that, but I don't let
<v Speaker 3>it change the way I make the videos because I
<v Speaker 3>feel like if once I change the way I make it,
<v Speaker 3>then you know, that kind of defeats the whole point
<v Speaker 3>of everything.
<v Speaker 4>Anyway, you've been recognized at like your kid's school, Like
<v Speaker 4>you have to see your dad looking at you like that.
<v Speaker 2>I know that face a minute.
<v Speaker 1>I know that fella usually has a T shirt with
<v Speaker 1>pens in it.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, actually, I'm thinking I might have.
<v Speaker 3>But usually anytime I've been to this school has spend
<v Speaker 3>more like a professional kind of functions.
<v Speaker 2>So it's like, yeah, like a.
<v Speaker 1>Socker game or something with the other parents and you
<v Speaker 1>see one just staring at you from across the field.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sure it's happened, and I just forget by now
<v Speaker 3>because like I'll think more about the times where it,
<v Speaker 3>uh you know, happens in public in general. Yeah, so yeah, mhmm.
<v Speaker 3>It hasn't happened too much to make it uncomfortable or anything.
<v Speaker 3>It's just, uh, you know, it's a it's always nice
<v Speaker 3>to know that people are watching the show and everything.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, for sure. Yeah, all right, Can I play
<v Speaker 3>a game with you?
<v Speaker 2>Okay?
<v Speaker 1>So usually Sully plays the games, but I I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>get to if I don't look, don't look at this.
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna give you some speed round questions, okay, and
<v Speaker 1>you need to answer them as quickly as you can. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>but you can take time if you want. Are you ready?
<v Speaker 1>Favorite console of all time?
<v Speaker 2>Bear? Favorite? Uh Superintendo? Okay, most overrated game of all time?
<v Speaker 2>Oh right, game. I don't know you're gonna love the
<v Speaker 2>next question too. I don't know. Maybe are you scared
<v Speaker 2>to say? I'm not sure. I'm trying to. I'm trying
<v Speaker 2>to think of what what I can sider overrated. I
<v Speaker 2>mean like huge games that you're like, why is this
<v Speaker 2>one so big? Pac Mann? That's an interesting and I'm
<v Speaker 2>with you. I've never really understood Packed.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I mean, it's a good game, but the
<v Speaker 3>fact that it's recognized as there's there's people people of
<v Speaker 3>like older generations than me who only know pac Man.
<v Speaker 2>It's like if you say video game, it's well, what
<v Speaker 2>about like Mario Donkey Kong?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Why, Yeah, I guess I get interesting. I mean
<v Speaker 1>maybe Tetris in the same way.
<v Speaker 2>I almost said Tetris. Yeah, but.
<v Speaker 1>It's unique. What about most underrated game boy?
<v Speaker 2>Uh?
<v Speaker 3>Crazy Creatures on any Shoa crazy?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, check, I don't check it out. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>write that down, Crazy Creatures.
<v Speaker 2>I guess it is under write down game that you've
<v Speaker 2>bought more times than you'll admit.
<v Speaker 1>Usually what that I bought more time? Like I bought
<v Speaker 1>most like a single game you bought multiple copies?
<v Speaker 2>I mean maybe.
<v Speaker 3>Contra because I know I sold it and I probably
<v Speaker 3>got it back, so it's kind of how many times
<v Speaker 3>do you sell it? I only once, But I can't
<v Speaker 3>think any other games that I bought more than once.
<v Speaker 1>A lot of people would say something. I mean, you
<v Speaker 1>don't have to say this one, but like Resident Evil
<v Speaker 1>Fur or Skyrim, there's do you mean when it gets
<v Speaker 1>re released? Yeah? You just have to buy it every time,
<v Speaker 1>like fire Red and Leaf Green just came to the switch,
<v Speaker 1>people bought it for that time.
<v Speaker 2>I know.
<v Speaker 3>I've done that with movies a lot, where it's like
<v Speaker 3>you go from VHS to DVD. I've done it on purpose,
<v Speaker 3>actually before I bought King Kong on every format of
<v Speaker 3>I have it on laser disc, I have it on
<v Speaker 3>c ED.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I have two copies on C D C ED. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>capacitance electronic disc.
<v Speaker 2>I don't even know.
<v Speaker 1>It was a very secure format that existed. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 1>say between eighty one and eighty four. Oh and actually,
<v Speaker 1>are they in the big like white rectangle things. Kem
<v Speaker 1>and I were at a thrift store the other day
<v Speaker 1>and we saw that and we were like, what the
<v Speaker 1>hell is that thing? We've never seen them before, but
<v Speaker 1>they looked really cool. Oh, stacked up together, they were
<v Speaker 1>like giant kind of vinyl discs.
<v Speaker 3>To have the player, you have to be real lucky
<v Speaker 3>and and and most of them don't work anything. You're
<v Speaker 3>probably very like obsolete at that point. Yeah, oh wait,
<v Speaker 3>that's my questions. Don't showing my started going to tangent. No,
<v Speaker 3>it's good, I'm bad. I like to learn something new?
<v Speaker 3>All right, do you have Okay, this is I don't
<v Speaker 3>know if you'll have I don't know. We're gonna have
<v Speaker 3>a gunna ask it. If Nintendo vanished tomorrow, who would
<v Speaker 3>replace them?
<v Speaker 2>Wow? Will Sega come back as a console? As a console?
<v Speaker 1>I mean they're still making games and sometimes they then
<v Speaker 1>they're pretty good.
<v Speaker 3>But as a consoles your answer? I mean realistically, I
<v Speaker 3>guess PlayStation probably?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Uh, physical games or digital I mean it does
<v Speaker 1>get old to kind of blow in them all the time.
<v Speaker 1>But if you're going to get physical, get the a
<v Speaker 1>v HN eight bit.
<v Speaker 4>Isn't it interesting how Nintendo tell you not to blow
<v Speaker 4>in the car tridge, but it only works when you
<v Speaker 4>blowing in.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's the time tested, uh solution. Yeah, what's your
<v Speaker 3>what's your theory on that?
<v Speaker 1>I I think it's just like some kind of weird luck,
<v Speaker 1>Like it's just it's like a magic spell almost.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's no logic behind it or science.
<v Speaker 1>It's just happens. Yeah, you've reviewed so many bad games.
<v Speaker 1>If you could delete one from existence so that it
<v Speaker 1>never existed, what game would it be?
<v Speaker 3>Oh? Wow, let's yeah, the last Ninja was really bad.
<v Speaker 3>I remember that one, for me to find it that
<v Speaker 3>recently after so many years of making games or making
<v Speaker 3>game reviews, it was like like, wow, like how did
<v Speaker 3>how does there still exist the terrible game?
<v Speaker 2>And like irought it up to you.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well, my my buddy Mike actually brought up to
<v Speaker 3>me because he found He's like, oh, this is really bad.
<v Speaker 2>You got to play it? And then I did.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, oh my god, this is how do we
<v Speaker 1>miss this one garbage ship? Okay, so last Ninja's your answer.
<v Speaker 1>There's actually there's some coming up that are pretty bad too.
<v Speaker 1>It's great that you're still finding them. Yeah, yeah, you
<v Speaker 1>think that all be I mean even if I managed
<v Speaker 1>to review every Nintendo game on the original system, then
<v Speaker 1>it's like you still have so many other games. Do
<v Speaker 1>you think the pound for pound, like like taking quantity
<v Speaker 1>into account, do you think that was Like do you
<v Speaker 1>think motion Nintendo's any s games were bad?
<v Speaker 2>I feel like that's very possible.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think that was more bad games then than
<v Speaker 1>there were than they're on now if you count like
<v Speaker 1>all the unlicensed games. Oh yeah, like third party kind
<v Speaker 1>of you know, yeah, I think I think very possibly.
<v Speaker 1>And everyone wanted to like get into the gaming industry,
<v Speaker 1>and so they're just putting whatever they can on the
<v Speaker 1>cartridge and people would buy it. So I think that
<v Speaker 1>makes sense. Uh, franchise that you'd reboot if Nintendo gave
<v Speaker 1>you the keys?
<v Speaker 2>Has there been a ghost and goblins? L there is?
<v Speaker 1>Maybe that would go to would you do it in
<v Speaker 1>the same like side scrolling fashion, just like an updated
<v Speaker 1>out style.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, that's a good question. They never made a three
<v Speaker 3>D you know, I have a both. It's gotta be
<v Speaker 3>a hybrid hybrid two D like two D three D
<v Speaker 3>type of thing.
<v Speaker 1>If they like a big open worldg yeah. I mean
<v Speaker 1>if if it doesn't feel at all like the original game,
<v Speaker 1>then don't don't even bother. But I was a spiritual
<v Speaker 1>successor to that Maximo. Wasn't that like GameCube, PlayStation, PlayStation?
<v Speaker 2>Multiple multiple? Okay?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I like, and uh, would they do some those
<v Speaker 3>hybrids like in a Super Mario Odyssey where you jump.
<v Speaker 2>Into a wall and then it's like, okay, this is
<v Speaker 2>when Dad gets cold, Dad.
<v Speaker 1>This is my favorite part of the game for these
<v Speaker 1>two seconds, and then what YouTuber do you think deserves
<v Speaker 1>way more recognition?
<v Speaker 2>Hm?
<v Speaker 3>Hm, you watched much YouTube? Not enough, But I'm trying
<v Speaker 3>to think. I'm like, oh, I don't want to single
<v Speaker 3>anybody out. Then well it's it's singling someone underrated. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>who could? And it doesn't have to be gaming. It
<v Speaker 3>could be anything. I feel badnsed because I don't want
<v Speaker 3>to forget anybody.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, I can't just pick one, you know, Okay, then
<v Speaker 1>don't Then who's the worst YouTube? But now I'm gidding.
<v Speaker 1>That was my last question. I'm trying to think what
<v Speaker 1>I would answer for YouTuber Sully Sully and Night. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think I watched too many smaller creators these days.
<v Speaker 1>I probably should probably says something about me. Mhm, all right,
<v Speaker 1>what else? What else you guys want to I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I have questions for days. But if you have anything
<v Speaker 1>that you want to chat about, you guys want to bring. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so this is your favorite console?
<v Speaker 4>Is it purely based off of nostalgia or is it
<v Speaker 4>because the games you would say are like better than today's.
<v Speaker 3>Well let's see. I think I think Nintendo was the
<v Speaker 3>more experimental one, but Superintendo was like when they perfected everything. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>but I know I've heard it both ways. Some people
<v Speaker 3>like Nintendo better, something like you know, Nintendo sixty four,
<v Speaker 3>you know, it's it can go anyway. But uh, I've
<v Speaker 3>always like Superintendent the best.
<v Speaker 4>I think it's a superintendent or not that any Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>but it's close close enough.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, like the original Zelda and then Zelda link
<v Speaker 3>to the Past.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean that's a night and day difference, I
<v Speaker 4>would say, saying with like the original Mario Bros.
<v Speaker 2>Like super Mario Bros. Yeah that makes sense. Yeah, how much?
<v Speaker 2>How much long are you going to do YouTube? I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, it's a good question.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean it's it's like if I stopped,
<v Speaker 3>like let's say I stopped right now, then I'm not
<v Speaker 3>just gonna survive off of not doing this, So that's
<v Speaker 3>then I would have to find another job, and it
<v Speaker 3>would be another job that would would probably not be
<v Speaker 3>as fun. So it's like, why would you stop doing
<v Speaker 3>something that's really fun and you get to be creative
<v Speaker 3>and there's really no restrictions.
<v Speaker 2>You get to do whatever you want.
<v Speaker 1>You get to like drink beer and curse and shit
<v Speaker 1>all over the floor or whatever it is.
<v Speaker 2>Why on right? Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so you're gonna do it like until you retire then,
<v Speaker 1>so like what sixty sixty five will get again? I
<v Speaker 1>get I mean unless, like I I think that's great. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, I mean if if another show I did,
<v Speaker 1>like because I do various things on the channel, but
<v Speaker 1>if another thing I did were to get the same
<v Speaker 1>traction as the nerd, and I can see it shifting over.
<v Speaker 1>But in the past twenty years, the nerd is the
<v Speaker 1>bread and butter. So of course, yeah, you know, I
<v Speaker 1>can't put that down. That's interesting to see that. Like
<v Speaker 1>we're kind of getting to a point where creators who
<v Speaker 1>have been doing this for like twenty plus years or
<v Speaker 1>now like contemplating, Hey, what else can I do if
<v Speaker 1>the one thing I've been doing for years isn't working
<v Speaker 1>anymore or I don't feel like doing it, Like, what
<v Speaker 1>else can you do? What does even like retirement look
<v Speaker 1>like for a YouTuber?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? That before.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, there's gonna be a lot of people sitting around
<v Speaker 3>playing games in the retirement, so it start streaming. I think, Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna fish.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I've been so excited to retire because I want
<v Speaker 1>to stop fishing. Yes, I'm not even getting and I
<v Speaker 1>don't have time to. Yeah, am I when am I
<v Speaker 1>gonna fish?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? And I want to be that fishing granddad. Cool? Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you'll go fishing with me. I'll try.
<v Speaker 1>I've never done. I mean, I'm sort of but like
<v Speaker 1>in video games, that would be a fun video, you
<v Speaker 1>and me going fishing.
<v Speaker 2>People watch it.
<v Speaker 1>I would have loaded to my channel just fish, just fishing.
<v Speaker 1>That would be really fun. Actually yeah, oh no, I've
<v Speaker 1>only been once. They went my granddad when I was young.
<v Speaker 1>But there's something about fishing in video games if it
<v Speaker 1>has like a fishing minigame or side.
<v Speaker 2>You play the fox Cry games, you hear, I mean
<v Speaker 2>only a little.
<v Speaker 3>I worked it into an episode a long time ago.
<v Speaker 3>It was one of the far Cry games that was
<v Speaker 3>supposed to be really bad on We crazy thing.
<v Speaker 1>Now that we is like twenty years old, and that's
<v Speaker 1>what's fresh console. I know when he was born ninten
<v Speaker 1>or sixty four turns thirty. I think this year, don't
<v Speaker 1>we don't have to do that, James. We don't have
<v Speaker 1>to bring that up.
<v Speaker 2>That's making me.
<v Speaker 1>Switch turns ten next year. The Switch one turns ten
<v Speaker 1>years old next year. I just simply don't have to
<v Speaker 1>do that. I don't like that. I don't like that
<v Speaker 1>you're doing that. No, I was going to say in
<v Speaker 1>Far Cry, there's in like three, four, five and six
<v Speaker 1>or something. They have these really robust fishing elements and
<v Speaker 1>you could do it. Co Op and me and my
<v Speaker 1>high school friend because he's back in Australia. We would
<v Speaker 1>just ride around the game and we do all the
<v Speaker 1>fishing spots and go fishing and then something just so
<v Speaker 1>calming about I don't know, I just want to go fishing.
<v Speaker 2>My dad likes fishing a lot. Bring me along. Yeah
<v Speaker 2>that's right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, you bring me along then, but usually I
<v Speaker 3>drive the boat, not very well, but that's that's usually
<v Speaker 3>what I would do when he fish.
<v Speaker 2>Let's let's take Scott and Scott was fishing. Yeah, yeah, Scott.
<v Speaker 1>That would be really interesting like that. You know I
<v Speaker 1>I have had a lot of questions. Is there wait,
<v Speaker 1>is there anything else that you you mentioned your book?
<v Speaker 1>Is there anything else you want to touch on that
<v Speaker 1>you've done, Because you've done it, you've done a little
<v Speaker 1>bit of everything.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't. We didn't even talk about the fact that
<v Speaker 2>you wrote a book, really which is.
<v Speaker 4>Jack of all trades book, movie, games, music, film, like
<v Speaker 4>YouTube like that.
<v Speaker 1>You do you have a TV show, you want to pitch,
<v Speaker 1>you want to get a gold medal at the Olympics.
<v Speaker 4>Like super Secret Athlete.
<v Speaker 1>Hm hmmm, what if you could do from here? If
<v Speaker 1>you could do one thing, what would it be? Would
<v Speaker 1>it be other than YouTube? Like another movie? Another book?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think I'm I've been trying for years and
<v Speaker 3>years since NERD movie, but it's not feasible at the moment.
<v Speaker 3>But I do want to make another film. I've written
<v Speaker 3>a new one. Actually, the last one I wrote. Uh,
<v Speaker 3>the last one I wrote I turned into a book actually,
<v Speaker 3>so I basically like adapted my own screenplay.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, gnome cave, I saw that.
<v Speaker 3>It's uh yeah, yeah, it was very therapeutic to very liberating,
<v Speaker 3>I should say, to be able to take what I
<v Speaker 3>could have spent years and years filming and going through
<v Speaker 3>all this trouble and solving all these logistics to make
<v Speaker 3>because you know, it's a pain in the ass to
<v Speaker 3>make a movie. It's like it's a miracle any movie
<v Speaker 3>gets made. But doing it as a book, it's just
<v Speaker 3>me sitting at the computer, just writing.
<v Speaker 2>So this wasn't a sequel to a movie. This was
<v Speaker 2>just a movie you wanted to make.
<v Speaker 1>Oh and the other one I wrote is now going
<v Speaker 1>to be just it's written for a movie.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's written more feasible to make so uh that
<v Speaker 3>one would would take quite some years out of my.
<v Speaker 2>Life to make that. Yeah, based on what I've learned
<v Speaker 2>from making the Nerd movie. Okay, can I have a
<v Speaker 2>bit pot in your next movie? All right? I was
<v Speaker 2>reading in the background.
<v Speaker 1>I don't have to say I don't have to say words,
<v Speaker 1>you know how like if the extras don't say words,
<v Speaker 1>they don't have to get paid. I'm fine with that. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I'll just be back there. I'll be walking a coffee shop.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I think I think we hit everything I
<v Speaker 1>wanted to talk about. I mean, I do have some
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo news, but I just feel like you were probably
<v Speaker 1>not really.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know though.
<v Speaker 1>That's cool, yeah, because you know, we're always looking for
<v Speaker 1>new stuff to play because I play more current games
<v Speaker 1>with the children and uh yeah, and then when I
<v Speaker 1>making the show, it's always like digging up these old obscure.
<v Speaker 4>So how often do you like play a game for
<v Speaker 4>your channel and then script?
<v Speaker 2>Like? What is the process?
<v Speaker 1>Like?
<v Speaker 2>It's kinda yeah, it's like half and half, I guess. So,
<v Speaker 2>so you play a game, how long do you like
<v Speaker 2>complete it in? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Like It's usually like, if I'm doing it for the show,
<v Speaker 3>I'll play the game until I have enough material for
<v Speaker 3>the episode and clips, and then.
<v Speaker 2>So you don't like necessarily want like play it all
<v Speaker 2>the way through. I do a lot of the times.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of times we'll end up beating it or all.
<v Speaker 3>I get halfway through it or something and I have
<v Speaker 3>enough material and everything. But then I'll get Mike to
<v Speaker 3>record the rest of it for me, and if he
<v Speaker 3>finds anything later in the game, because then at this
<v Speaker 3>point I'll be writing it. Yeah, and then if he
<v Speaker 3>finds something he's like, oh, yeah, you should put put
<v Speaker 3>this in there, and oh let me check it out.
<v Speaker 3>It's like oh yeah, yeah, yeah definitely. So it's a
<v Speaker 3>combination of stuff.
<v Speaker 4>Are you always going into it with the mindset of
<v Speaker 4>like trying to like be angry at the game?
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, Like if I get pissed off and I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>oh this is good. Wait wait till they hear about this.
<v Speaker 2>So you don't really enjoy the games really, you're just like.
<v Speaker 1>Looking for Yeah, it's a weird type of enjoyment because
<v Speaker 1>it's like you're you're getting pissed off, but you're.
<v Speaker 2>Also making Yeah, it's a win.
<v Speaker 3>It's like, you know, I don't know what what there's
<v Speaker 3>there's some kind of psychology to it where uh, people
<v Speaker 3>will do something on camera that is uh not something
<v Speaker 3>that preferable and do something stupid or maybe something painful
<v Speaker 3>or whatever to get attention, you know. Yeah, and if
<v Speaker 3>people are being entertained by what you're doing, it kind
<v Speaker 3>of takes away ja.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, you're suffering from Yeah, all right, we can
<v Speaker 1>do a couple of these.
<v Speaker 2>Some side quests, beautiful animations.
<v Speaker 1>We'll do a couple of these, and then we'll get
<v Speaker 1>out of it because we are we are running late
<v Speaker 1>today and we still have to do a bonus episode
<v Speaker 1>and then you apparently I.
<v Speaker 2>Was gonna say, can I say you're getting up real
<v Speaker 2>early for a flight?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well it's probably on the site of Game on Expo.
<v Speaker 2>I'll be in Phoenix this uh this weekend. Check it out, guys. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>all right.
<v Speaker 1>The first little bit of news here is that Yoshi
<v Speaker 1>and the Mysterious Book is twenty gigabytes. How do you
<v Speaker 1>feel about that, James?
<v Speaker 2>What do you think?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's not really a huge It's more interesting because
<v Speaker 1>like Donkey Kong was nine gigabytes. So the kind of
<v Speaker 1>conversation that we would have Wonder podcast would be, what
<v Speaker 1>the heck is happening in Yoshi and the mysterious book
<v Speaker 1>that's apparently twice as big as Donkey Cart?
<v Speaker 2>Well, I guess that's the mystery. I guess that's the mystery.
<v Speaker 1>And also it was given a release date and a
<v Speaker 1>price and a price, so the race date's May twenty first.
<v Speaker 1>And the next conversational point, this is the little things
<v Speaker 1>we do here on this channel we read into things,
<v Speaker 1>is if Nintendo were dropping this news now in the
<v Speaker 1>middle of March, sorry, I mean to click on that,
<v Speaker 1>it probably means they don't have a direct plan anytime soon,
<v Speaker 1>because this is the kind of information that we usually
<v Speaker 1>get in a direct, not like a random two.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe after the Mario movies settled, the dust is settled,
<v Speaker 2>will get a direct. Maybe.
<v Speaker 1>Actually we didn't talk about this, but we have, we
<v Speaker 1>we have. You want to be watched the movie, the
<v Speaker 1>Maria movie. Did you watch the Yes Maria movie? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, we love it. Yeah yeah, And there's a new
<v Speaker 3>one coming out April fools Day, right, yeah, not a joke,
<v Speaker 3>it's a real thing, not a joke.
<v Speaker 1>Well that everyone in the Nontendo crew is going to
<v Speaker 1>go see it at midnight, so I assume you're coming
<v Speaker 1>with us.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, I will probably be seeing it with the
<v Speaker 3>children that day.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it so it's midnight Wednesday.
<v Speaker 1>Well it comes out April first, so it's a midnight
<v Speaker 1>screen thirty first Wednesday. Yeah, at twelve or one am.
<v Speaker 1>So technically you would be driving there on your Wednesday night. No,
<v Speaker 1>you'd be driving there on your Tuesday, on your Tuesday night.
<v Speaker 1>I always thought that, like movies, even like a big
<v Speaker 1>one like that, I thought they would see that for
<v Speaker 1>like a weekend release, but to kind of put it
<v Speaker 1>out like the middle. I think they did April first
<v Speaker 1>for the first movie too. Maybe it was April. I
<v Speaker 1>don't think it was the first, but there was some
<v Speaker 1>time in April. I remember looking it up.
<v Speaker 2>But so you're like, you like the first movie?
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, yeah, we love it. Actually the Littlest One.
<v Speaker 3>She I think that was like her favorite film. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it makes sense. Illumination.
<v Speaker 4>They're like they make movies specifically for you know, the
<v Speaker 4>generation Alpha.
<v Speaker 1>What do your kids know about Galaxy Mario Galaxy? Any
<v Speaker 1>reference there? Or they're just excited to see the next movie.
<v Speaker 3>Well, I get uh are the biggest one for us.
<v Speaker 3>The one that they kind of you know, started with
<v Speaker 3>was Super Mario three D World.
<v Speaker 4>Classic, So yeah, it's about the full three D experience though.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's a that's a really good game. Though. Did
<v Speaker 2>you play the Bouses Fury Attachment? Yes, we did.
<v Speaker 1>Actually we didn't like that one as much, okay because
<v Speaker 1>it wasn't call up.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, but uh, you know they're familiar with Rosalina
<v Speaker 3>and everything. Even though they didn't play Super Mario Galaxy.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, they still Yeah, there was Little reugh Sences Galaxy.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we decide we old book tickets for the midnight
<v Speaker 1>so actually we're gonna go watch that with Nathaniel Bandy
<v Speaker 1>you've heard them, another YouTube creator. We're gonna go watch
<v Speaker 1>it with him at midnight and then we're going to
<v Speaker 1>review it, I guess the next day or something, Nathaniel.
<v Speaker 2>The Morning's right.
<v Speaker 1>We used to try to do that kind of thing,
<v Speaker 1>but it never really Yeah, it was. We didn't see
<v Speaker 1>any spike in views for doing that.
<v Speaker 4>It's probably not. It was a weekday. Everybody probably has
<v Speaker 4>a job that they have, like.
<v Speaker 1>You're going to the midnight screening, but most people would
<v Speaker 1>have not seen it yet. Yeah, and then they're going
<v Speaker 1>to sit and what you talk about it spoiled. It's
<v Speaker 1>not like a game release where like you're playing it
<v Speaker 1>and then yeah, the ability to show it, which is
<v Speaker 1>why I was thinking, like, because we were talking about
<v Speaker 1>do we do the show on Wednesday so it's more
<v Speaker 1>fresh rather than Thursday.
<v Speaker 2>But it gives people a day to watch it.
<v Speaker 4>That's what I was going to tell you, because it's like,
<v Speaker 4>how do you know people might not want to be spoiled.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, they want to probably do it on setting, but
<v Speaker 1>that's what we're gonna do. Viewers watching at home and
<v Speaker 1>you again, I watch it at midnight.
<v Speaker 2>I'm probably gonna see it on the weekend with the kids. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>you can buy the special Yoshi popcorn bucket and all
<v Speaker 2>that stufft the coin block. Oh yeah. See again.
<v Speaker 1>That's the good spot that you're at with your kids though,
<v Speaker 1>is you can just take them to the movie.
<v Speaker 2>So it's for us.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we'd have to get a sitter and then I
<v Speaker 1>have I'd have to wait until the weekend to get
<v Speaker 1>the city.
<v Speaker 3>Well, it's hard because it's like if there's something that
<v Speaker 3>you want to see, that's that's like a horror film.
<v Speaker 3>It's rated R or something like that. Then it's you
<v Speaker 3>get to make a special rage man. Yeah, get a
<v Speaker 3>sitter or something. But I typically don't see movies in
<v Speaker 3>the theaters unless it's something that I really really want
<v Speaker 3>to see because it comes out on streaming so fast.
<v Speaker 2>What was the last movie you saw in theater?
<v Speaker 1>Oh?
<v Speaker 2>Boy, let's see. I think it was bad.
<v Speaker 1>Guys too, I want to see another kids.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Did you see the Godzilla honest one? Oh? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>Oh I love that one. Yeah, it was amazing. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's a good movie. And I think we're getting a
<v Speaker 2>new one that another zero. Uh no, it's Godzilla.
<v Speaker 1>It's something minus. Going to look it up. It's a
<v Speaker 1>minus zero. Yes, one, that's cool. Eventually, Yeah, god Zilla
<v Speaker 1>plus one at some point.
<v Speaker 2>So it's basically Godzilla is.
<v Speaker 1>Invited to a party and he gets a plus. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>the plus one will be must be marthor.
<v Speaker 2>Prod of me forgetting Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I was saying that Kim the other day that I
<v Speaker 1>kind of miss back in the day going to the
<v Speaker 1>movies and just watching something like silly and fun and
<v Speaker 1>wacky that was out, because now it feels like we
<v Speaker 1>only have a drag ourselves out when it's like a
<v Speaker 1>big blockbuster c G. I fist that like you're a
<v Speaker 1>superhero movie or some superhero movie.
<v Speaker 2>We went to watch Wicked one. Yeah, my wife dragged
<v Speaker 2>me into that.
<v Speaker 1>Fortunately we ended up I think because of the baby.
<v Speaker 1>We watched Wicked TV. Seen the Wicked movies. Yeah, we
<v Speaker 1>saw both of them. We watched two at home, and
<v Speaker 1>I'm glad we did because that one was that one
<v Speaker 1>wasn't as good as one. I thought that was bad
<v Speaker 1>like the second one. I I.
<v Speaker 2>I remember.
<v Speaker 1>We watched the play. Also, we've been to the you've
<v Speaker 1>seen the play then, yeah, yeah, the play. The play
<v Speaker 1>would help.
<v Speaker 3>The littlest one that was just acting up so much
<v Speaker 3>at the play like that had to like take her
<v Speaker 3>out of the room and everything.
<v Speaker 2>It was like, you're missing the best part.
<v Speaker 3>No, just like it's sometimes in public, like it can
<v Speaker 3>you know little children gonna be difficult.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it makes sense.
<v Speaker 1>I took my godson to watch the Back to the
<v Speaker 1>Future Musical because he loves the movie, The Charlie and
<v Speaker 1>the Chocolate Fact, the musical one. He's seven, okay, so
<v Speaker 1>I took him to watch the Back to the Future
<v Speaker 1>Musical and I didn't know what he would think. And
<v Speaker 1>as soon as it started, he like sat up and
<v Speaker 1>like he was like, Oh, something's happening, which is pretty cool.
<v Speaker 1>But it's like a two and a half three hour
<v Speaker 1>long with an intermission, and I could tell like twenty
<v Speaker 1>minutes in that he's like, I've seen enough, okay, And
<v Speaker 1>then about half an hour and he lent over to
<v Speaker 1>me and he goes, how much longer is? Like I
<v Speaker 1>knew that was like three hours long. I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>by getting that buddy getting there? So he was pretty fidgety.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, well, I remember like being difficult in films when
<v Speaker 3>I was a kid as well, Like I remember my
<v Speaker 3>dad would take me all kinds of movies.
<v Speaker 2>He takes me like James Bond movies and stuff.
<v Speaker 3>And I even have some memories, I think, very foggy
<v Speaker 3>memories of like just being obnoxious and like crying and
<v Speaker 3>making loud noise and stuff and then him having to
<v Speaker 3>like put me on his shoulder and carry me out.
<v Speaker 1>And our guy's been pretty good every time we've done
<v Speaker 1>and gone anywhere, like flight, so we've had to take
<v Speaker 1>or restaurants. But on Valentine's Day we tried to go
<v Speaker 1>out for breakfast with him and as soon as we
<v Speaker 1>say he's in high chairs now, as soon as we
<v Speaker 1>sat him down, he just wasn't having it. He wanted
<v Speaker 1>to grab everything on the table.
<v Speaker 2>Everything has to get se like the middle of the table,
<v Speaker 2>and he was pissed about it because he could still
<v Speaker 2>see it. Yeah, and he would.
<v Speaker 1>We We did get to the point where by the
<v Speaker 1>time the food was there, Kim took a couple of
<v Speaker 1>bytes and then had to go take him out into
<v Speaker 1>the car. And I was like, I'll take it to
<v Speaker 1>go and I'll pay, but she took my wallet and
<v Speaker 1>she did she was dealing with him and didn't check
<v Speaker 1>the phone. So I was sat in the restaurant for
<v Speaker 1>like ten more minutes and she kept coming over and
<v Speaker 1>was like, can I get you anything.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, I'm just waiting for my wallet. I
<v Speaker 2>guess I could have.
<v Speaker 1>I just felt like it would look like I was
<v Speaker 1>dying and dashing if I like, maybe leave your phone
<v Speaker 1>or something. Maybe I should have, But then I was
<v Speaker 1>scared because like, you get on my phone, you get everything.
<v Speaker 1>I get my bank by YouTube, did your watch off?
<v Speaker 4>I don't know something to show them. There's your coad
<v Speaker 4>or your jacket maybe or something like that.
<v Speaker 1>But it was also because it was Valentine's Day and
<v Speaker 1>we will worry that he was like bumming everyone else
<v Speaker 1>out in the restaurant.
<v Speaker 2>That was like, well, we got a sitter and now
<v Speaker 2>this kid's screaming.
<v Speaker 1>That's our biggest like fear, is our kids screaming and
<v Speaker 1>ruining someone else's day.
<v Speaker 2>Because like the plane, that would be like the.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, well, we never really knew if we wanted to
<v Speaker 1>have kids, and before we were like kid people, like
<v Speaker 1>having a kid forces you to be anytime any kid
<v Speaker 1>would cry anyway, we would be like, well that parent
<v Speaker 1>is not a good parent.
<v Speaker 2>This is horrible.
<v Speaker 1>But then then it happens to you and you're like
<v Speaker 1>sometimes there's just nothing you can do.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, restaurants are there was a period of my
<v Speaker 3>life I remember restaurants are impossible, Like you just can't
<v Speaker 3>go to restaurants.
<v Speaker 1>Do you have like a traumatic memory of one time
<v Speaker 1>your kids just just embarrassed you.
<v Speaker 3>I just remember like the knives and the forks, like
<v Speaker 3>trying to grab all them, and and when you're pushing
<v Speaker 3>everything to the table, there's only so much room on
<v Speaker 3>the table and you're trying to like get everything out
<v Speaker 3>of reach. And eventually like you're asking, uh, you're asking
<v Speaker 3>them like, don't bring any utensils.
<v Speaker 2>Don't bring this, Like.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I have to pick them up sometimes and put
<v Speaker 1>them on my knee because that calms them down a bit.
<v Speaker 2>But then and I'm like, I'm even like.
<v Speaker 1>This and like he's over here on my knees so
<v Speaker 1>he can't grab anything.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, at least those days are over for me.
<v Speaker 3>No more so it does get well, no, but uh,
<v Speaker 3>you're just like now they're they're all starting to grow
<v Speaker 3>up more so they're you know, like I said, just
<v Speaker 3>just different problems as you get older. I'm sure my
<v Speaker 3>parents love problems with me at this point. Yeah, because
<v Speaker 3>oh yeah, I mean I can I can remember. It's
<v Speaker 3>like the same stuff coming back to me now. So
<v Speaker 3>it's the circle of life. Yeah, you give your parents
<v Speaker 3>a lot of trouble and then your kids give you
<v Speaker 3>a lot of troubles.
<v Speaker 2>That's the way it goes. Like yeah, yeah, so anyway,
<v Speaker 2>that's Yoshi. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>The any other thing I thought might be interesting to
<v Speaker 1>really dive into is Nintendo is currently suing the government.
<v Speaker 1>But if we get into that, it's political adjacent and
<v Speaker 1>I never know really how to approach those topics, but
<v Speaker 1>I will say that rather than approaching that, we do
<v Speaker 1>have the Nintendo suing the US government YouTube tier list.
<v Speaker 2>Oh pretty cold if you guys had any interest in this.
<v Speaker 1>So this is oh the YouTubers that covered Nintendo suing
<v Speaker 1>the government, And I gotta say Bob and I were talking,
<v Speaker 1>this one in eightier is clearly the best one.
<v Speaker 2>The blueshell that is clearly an S to a thumbnail.
<v Speaker 4>Are they ranking the thumbnails of the videos or just
<v Speaker 4>the videos of themselves?
<v Speaker 2>Thumbnails? How do they?
<v Speaker 1>I think it's like like a clickbait angle.
<v Speaker 2>Nice presentation.
<v Speaker 1>This this one here is actually friend of the show
<v Speaker 1>Monato Max, who comments in every single stream that we do.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure why they got an S. And then
<v Speaker 1>it's solid and I think this one's good. This one
<v Speaker 1>looks like an epic wrap battle of history.
<v Speaker 2>That's the US over tariffs, where Maria's punching like the yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that's my thumb question. But what is S stand for?
<v Speaker 2>Super Low would be the top?
<v Speaker 1>So I think because S special, like it's that much
<v Speaker 1>more better than a tier that like it's special tiers.
<v Speaker 2>I guess I've a question.
<v Speaker 1>S was always like the perfect rank and For me,
<v Speaker 1>it always goes back to Devil May Cry.
<v Speaker 2>Whenever you would you played Make Cry.
<v Speaker 1>You had a stylish media and as you attacked enemies,
<v Speaker 1>you'd start at D and as long as you didn't
<v Speaker 1>get hit and you kept chaining things, it would go
<v Speaker 1>all the way up to S, double S and triple.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I always thought I always think of that.
<v Speaker 4>Sonic also has that too, where it goes like the
<v Speaker 4>different ranks, and then S is the highest ranks you
<v Speaker 4>want to get, like S rank on all.
<v Speaker 2>Your I think it's very much a video game. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>it's a video game anywhere else.
<v Speaker 3>I do remember the early days of school, like probably
<v Speaker 3>like elementary era, like superiors. You were satisfactory, yes, and
<v Speaker 3>then he was like exemplary or no. Oh yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>know there was O for outstanding. I think that was
<v Speaker 3>of an A sometimes or or in the place of
<v Speaker 3>an A.
<v Speaker 2>I don't remember.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's we had any pluses growing up in Australia.
<v Speaker 1>We just did A, B, C and D and D
<v Speaker 1>was essentially like the lowest. There was no WOW, and
<v Speaker 1>F to me has always like as an American thing
<v Speaker 1>has always seemed so extreme because there's no there's no
<v Speaker 1>whole letter to go to and it just stands for fail.
<v Speaker 1>It's just like you have failed this and is your
<v Speaker 1>F F minus.
<v Speaker 2>I like that idea is if you get an F plus,
<v Speaker 2>it's like.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, or even like the flip side that you get
<v Speaker 1>a minus, you're like you did really good but not
<v Speaker 1>quite not quite the best. How bad you have to
<v Speaker 1>do to get an F minus? That is that is crazy? Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we only we only went to dun negative minus. There
<v Speaker 1>you go, barely pasted high school too. I got a
<v Speaker 1>lot of d F plus plus mom.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah degrees. That was that the phrase something like that.
<v Speaker 2>I think we're good. I mean I had a fun show. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>If there's anything else you want to touch on all
<v Speaker 1>anybody wants to talk about, but I think we've said
<v Speaker 1>a lot of it and we said we said it all.
<v Speaker 1>And I think this was a good like getting to
<v Speaker 1>know you episode, and and like obviously our respect for
<v Speaker 1>you as a creator and what you've done. And I
<v Speaker 1>think if you ever come back to the show, it
<v Speaker 1>would be good to just sit down and chill with
<v Speaker 1>you and just bring you along for a ride and
<v Speaker 1>talk about some modern fun stuff, moder and stuff. But
<v Speaker 1>also just like as you said, shoot the ship would
<v Speaker 1>be great. Yeah, yeah, thank you so much for coming,
<v Speaker 1>and I do hope you come back sometimes.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, see you guys again soon sometime.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah around we gotta go fishing next time.
<v Speaker 4>Scott's out here, We're going to do this fishing thing. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>is there? What do you want people to check out?
<v Speaker 4>I mean your channel obviously, but do you just want
<v Speaker 4>me to leave links to everything below?
<v Speaker 2>Oh? Go to the channel? Go? Yeah, subscribe to the channel.
<v Speaker 2>I guess sure. Yeah sounds good. Yeah, you got the
<v Speaker 2>games if you haven't already.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, that's it from us for today's episode, right, have
<v Speaker 1>I forgotten that? I think we have their super chats?
<v Speaker 1>We could do the super chats? Yeah were there was
<v Speaker 1>there a lot of them.
<v Speaker 4>By the way, Justin says that this is superior from
<v Speaker 4>the Japanese school system. They do letter grades, but s
<v Speaker 4>is better than a Well that makes sense because video
<v Speaker 4>games come from Japan.
<v Speaker 2>All right. I learned something new all the time. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, that's what our show's all about. Just learn and yeah,
<v Speaker 1>not getting facts aron all the time, not at all,
<v Speaker 1>Professor Rock with a two dollars super chat. I really
<v Speaker 1>hope everyone enjoys the show today. We did professor, thank
<v Speaker 1>you so much. We have a bunch of new members
<v Speaker 1>Prophecy Girl, grizly Nick, thank you, Mary Fate. Actually three
<v Speaker 1>years of amazingness on this podcast. Oh this was a
<v Speaker 1>member re up for thirty six months. Wow.
<v Speaker 2>That's three three years years. Wow. Actually, that's crazy that
<v Speaker 2>what has given us?
<v Speaker 1>No wonder now I wonder what the four year anniversary
<v Speaker 1>soon will bring for Nintendo Non Tender God. As I said,
<v Speaker 1>I barely passed high school. Greg, what is James and
<v Speaker 1>the Nintendo Cruise Mount Rushmore? You know what's so funny?
<v Speaker 1>I actually had that as a question in here. I
<v Speaker 1>was gonna ask you something about Mount Rushmore. Okay, let
<v Speaker 1>me finish this one and then I'll try and find
<v Speaker 1>my question for AVG and episodes or cinema massacre stuff
<v Speaker 1>in general. During that ad read when we were talking,
<v Speaker 1>I mentioned that my favorite episode ever of yours was
<v Speaker 1>the Mega Man episode, which I think was at the
<v Speaker 1>ten year mark. It was your tenth yeah yeah, and
<v Speaker 1>you you like did it back to the future thing,
<v Speaker 1>which is why I loved it because it's my favorite
<v Speaker 1>movie where you superimposed yourself back into your old skits
<v Speaker 1>and kind of retold the story and it was so brilliant,
<v Speaker 1>and I gotta tell you it's so inspirational that over
<v Speaker 1>the years I have always thought about doing it myself,
<v Speaker 1>but I haven't never really shot anything in a way
<v Speaker 1>where I think I could easily put me back into
<v Speaker 1>something that was even something that was iconically recognizable like
<v Speaker 1>all your episodes, like you were just positioned in the
<v Speaker 1>best place to be able to do something like that,
<v Speaker 1>and you weaved the story. So I remember watching it
<v Speaker 1>in awe of like this is a YouTube video, Like
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't I couldn't believe it was a YouTube video.
<v Speaker 2>So that was that was my favorite personally. And then
<v Speaker 2>you mentioned.
<v Speaker 4>One, Yeah, there's all the two Adventure of Link. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>the jokes were like hilarious in that one, and the
<v Speaker 4>editing too, like for the time and YouTube like although
<v Speaker 4>like it was still in the the weird four x
<v Speaker 4>three format, you know, still you go back and watch
<v Speaker 4>it today in the age like incredibly well.
<v Speaker 2>Oh cool. I dropped a couple of power.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I dropped a couple of I said shit a
<v Speaker 1>couple of times in this podcast, which I did for you,
<v Speaker 1>by the way, because I never swear, so I'm not
<v Speaker 1>going to drop an f bomb right now because I
<v Speaker 1>don't want people to clip it.
<v Speaker 2>But I was laughing.
<v Speaker 1>I was catching up on some episodes the other day
<v Speaker 1>and I was laughing at the f Osama bin laden
<v Speaker 1>and like your reaction to it of just like utter
<v Speaker 1>disbelie to watch it three times.
<v Speaker 4>That was good, likeing you now you're not the same
<v Speaker 4>guy on the videos. That's like the alter ego angry
<v Speaker 4>video game. This is James and the guy we watched
<v Speaker 4>his angry video game.
<v Speaker 1>I was gonna mention that to the similarities between you
<v Speaker 1>and Scott as a person, even like that that the
<v Speaker 1>the to talk about Scott for a second. The fact
<v Speaker 1>that he was inspired by you and did content like
<v Speaker 1>you is so interesting to me because he's so similar
<v Speaker 1>in the way that when he's in his videos, he's
<v Speaker 1>Scott and he's loud and comical and funny. He's like
<v Speaker 1>the sweetest personally, and in a podcast setting he's so different.
<v Speaker 1>He's sweet. Well, when he was on the show last
<v Speaker 1>he was giving me a lot of he was Scott
<v Speaker 1>a bit more, but he's a lot more relaxed and
<v Speaker 1>in and in life. He's a lot more like chill
<v Speaker 1>and relaxed, and you are exactly the same way, like
<v Speaker 1>you too, like him being your son Canic canonically online
<v Speaker 1>makes a lot of sense because very similar in in
<v Speaker 1>content and in personalities. It's just interesting to me, I
<v Speaker 1>would say, real quick for me too. My one of
<v Speaker 1>my favorite episodes of yours was the Nintendo uh uh
<v Speaker 1>not what I call it, like not the peripherals, but
<v Speaker 1>like the Zapper, the super scope, but all like the
<v Speaker 1>because I remember, I remember, at least for that one.
<v Speaker 2>I was watching that.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like our family computer at the time, and my
<v Speaker 1>dad walked in and he's like, what the.
<v Speaker 2>Hell are you watching? As you're dropping all these like
<v Speaker 2>curse words.
<v Speaker 1>And isn't it wild to think? And I'm so sorry, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>thank you for bringing that up. He was born three
<v Speaker 1>years after you started your channel. Yeah well wait that's no, no, no,
<v Speaker 1>three years but four years before before sorry before Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I'm not that young before.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's what your channel looks like. That's how China.
<v Speaker 1>Wow, okay, look at isn't that crazy to think about?
<v Speaker 1>Even I sometimes get people say I grew up watching you.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm like, that's literally my childhood and the stuff. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I hate feel but I hate it.
<v Speaker 1>I think That's also what makes it, at least to me,
<v Speaker 1>like more like I appreciate that even more, like seeing
<v Speaker 1>how like you've stuck with it for like this entire time,
<v Speaker 1>and like hearing people say, oh, yeah, I watched that
<v Speaker 1>when I was a kid. You know, I watched that
<v Speaker 1>with my family at leah blah h whatever like that
<v Speaker 1>I think really kind of solidifies as to like, you
<v Speaker 1>know why you're such a prominent creator in the face
<v Speaker 1>like that so really cool And yeah, so the good
<v Speaker 1>news is I did watch the rest of the video
<v Speaker 1>after he yelled at me, so we were good on that.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, we contractually only had to guess up James
<v Speaker 1>for fifteen minutes and we've done it the whole You
<v Speaker 1>did it the whole time, and that that was no contract.
<v Speaker 2>I'm kidding.
<v Speaker 1>For people that don't get that, Greg with a five,
<v Speaker 1>what is James? And untender Oh already answered that, sorry,
<v Speaker 1>did we did?
<v Speaker 2>We? Answering? I think the question I was going to
<v Speaker 2>ask actually is who's.
<v Speaker 1>On your mount rushmore of YouTube creators, because I was
<v Speaker 1>interested to see who inspires you. But I feel like
<v Speaker 1>we kind of got to that in the speed round
<v Speaker 1>and you didn't really want to answer it. So I
<v Speaker 1>want to make you like when I created YouTube, there
<v Speaker 1>wasn't quite as many people.
<v Speaker 4>He was the one who pioneered that type of He
<v Speaker 4>would be the mountain.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I mean if there wasn't mount rushmoll of YouTube creators
<v Speaker 1>and one of them was a gaming like cut out
<v Speaker 1>for a gaming creative.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I think I get it now.
<v Speaker 3>So it's more like people who have inspired me before,
<v Speaker 3>who did something did something kind.
<v Speaker 2>Of like what I ended up. Yeah, we could do that. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So, like I know Joe Bob Briggs horror host Monster
<v Speaker 3>Vision back in the day, like he uh, basically I
<v Speaker 3>had never seen anybody review something in that way before
<v Speaker 3>where he was just so loose about it. This is
<v Speaker 3>on cable TV back then, and and when cable TV
<v Speaker 3>wasn't quite as like like.
<v Speaker 2>He was a little bit looser.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, And it was just you know, late night program
<v Speaker 1>just showing all these horror movies and stuff, and he
<v Speaker 1>would ramble about stuff that had nothing to do with
<v Speaker 1>the movie, like you would.
<v Speaker 2>He would talk.
<v Speaker 3>About legends, yeah, whatever was on his mind, and he
<v Speaker 3>would just tell jokes and stuff. And I've never seen
<v Speaker 3>that before, So I think that was he'd definitely be
<v Speaker 3>on my Mount Rushmore.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, that's a I'm afraid of that. Yeah, yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>got a pinned. I want to check that out. Good
<v Speaker 1>old Dallas boy. Uh dragon hot, says Wooden James on
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Together dream Team.
<v Speaker 2>Have you do you know who Jojo Seaware is. I've
<v Speaker 2>heard the name. I think, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>She She has this meme where she just says it
<v Speaker 1>in a really weird voice. She's like, dream guest on
<v Speaker 1>my podcast, and it just it became an online meme
<v Speaker 1>and every time I thought about you being on the
<v Speaker 1>podcast a dream guest on my podcast. Sorry, I just
<v Speaker 1>saw a dream team when I thought of that. Never mind,
<v Speaker 1>you're gonna ignore me. Just embarrassed it.
<v Speaker 2>Together in my mind, I'm like, wait, I think I
<v Speaker 2>heard that before. I don't know. It is just it
<v Speaker 2>is so irrelevant.
<v Speaker 1>I don't even know what themes in general you think
<v Speaker 1>some I guess yeah, have you seen memes of you? Uh?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, probably I got.
<v Speaker 1>You Booty, I hershy with a five dollars in honor
<v Speaker 1>an AVGM. What's everyone's favorite anis game? They were asking
<v Speaker 1>the chat. Although I get mine's Maniac mansion Mania and
<v Speaker 1>the music of Maniac Mansion.
<v Speaker 2>I've been wanting to do that one for a long
<v Speaker 2>time actually.
<v Speaker 1>As as a good vime. Yeah, like it's I just
<v Speaker 1>want to play it. That's why have you have you
<v Speaker 1>you just want to play it again? Yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 1>because you played, like you know, like sometimes I'll do
<v Speaker 1>something like like Earthbound. There was an earth Bound episode
<v Speaker 1>where it was kind of it just started as me
<v Speaker 1>wanting to play earth Bound and then even that that's
<v Speaker 1>kind of a unique case because I didn't know it
<v Speaker 1>was going to be an episode when I started it,
<v Speaker 1>and then it became an episode. But yeah, no, Maniac
<v Speaker 1>Maniac Mansion is different from most games that I've reviewed,
<v Speaker 1>So that's why it would be a unique episode.
<v Speaker 2>It's different to most games on the ne e S.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's just a great point click adventure with so
<v Speaker 1>much character and great music. Is really great music. Do
<v Speaker 1>you even have a favorite Anis game? I mean it
<v Speaker 1>was kind of a little basic for me. Mine was
<v Speaker 1>Blades of Steel. Oh no, that's not basic, that's I mean,
<v Speaker 1>it is kind of I didn't play, so I didn't
<v Speaker 1>play it on the n e S. I was surprised
<v Speaker 1>to hear you say it, yeah, because I feel like
<v Speaker 1>if you didn't grow up in the era.
<v Speaker 2>That's such a random. My sister's played a lot of
<v Speaker 2>likes and is growing up.
<v Speaker 1>I'm sorry to keep interrupting you.
<v Speaker 2>I forgot about Blades of Steel. I had that. I
<v Speaker 2>haven't thought about that, and so that my favorites is.
<v Speaker 1>That, the one with the fighting. It's I yes, yes, ye,
<v Speaker 1>yeah all the time, and that was the best part
<v Speaker 1>you just try and get into. So we had that
<v Speaker 1>my sister on her Wii, so it was a virtual
<v Speaker 1>console game on the Wii, and we would play it
<v Speaker 1>and we would just get in fist fights the entire
<v Speaker 1>time we played Blades of Steel, but actually just got
<v Speaker 1>that physically, like on an ne E S cartridge for
<v Speaker 1>the first time. So it's in my collection. That would
<v Speaker 1>be pretty cool. But Sully, we got to get through these.
<v Speaker 1>But do you have an ne E S Probably super
<v Speaker 1>Mario bro. Thank you for that. Thank you for that, brother,
<v Speaker 1>Sorry you going probably a good answer though, answer super
<v Speaker 1>Anthony with a twenty five dollars super chat. Holy, thank
<v Speaker 1>you so much, super Anthony. Just sharing my appreciation for
<v Speaker 1>James who has inspired me as a creator since I
<v Speaker 1>discovered the channel in two thousand and eight and in
<v Speaker 1>Massacre two hundred is still one of my of the
<v Speaker 1>best YouTube videos of all time. Super Anthony, thank you
<v Speaker 1>and thank you one James's bath, uh Grizzly with a
<v Speaker 1>five dollars. What's your favorite Harry Potter game?
<v Speaker 2>Have you played one?
<v Speaker 3>There's one on game Boy Advance. I think I played
<v Speaker 3>Once You're on the Broomstick. I don't remember.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that sounds about.
<v Speaker 1>The first and second one on PC and on GameCube
<v Speaker 1>because I played them both and they are different games,
<v Speaker 1>because that was back in that era where a lot
<v Speaker 1>of those license games would get a release on like
<v Speaker 1>every console, and every console was a completely different version
<v Speaker 1>of the game, like developed by different people, and those
<v Speaker 1>Harry Potter games, they were both different and they were
<v Speaker 1>both good. It's my answer. I don't know if you
<v Speaker 1>guys have a Harry Potter game. Harry Potter, Okay, the Problematic.
<v Speaker 2>One, Thedwoods. I mean that is just like the Brother
<v Speaker 2>the Wild very part.
<v Speaker 1>It was a pretty it was you just can't talk
<v Speaker 1>about you could use the yeah everything.
<v Speaker 2>John Castiello became a member. Thank you.
<v Speaker 1>We had a two dollars super chat from somebody called
<v Speaker 1>MHI that redacted their message and then I guess it
<v Speaker 1>was bad. A new member just came in right then Dan,
<v Speaker 1>Evil Robot, and then ten dollars from Brown Electrons, big fan,
<v Speaker 1>James ten pounds, ten pounds, thank you. How come you
<v Speaker 1>bought an older car just to get your iPod to work?
<v Speaker 1>Wouldn't it have been easier just to replace the stereo
<v Speaker 1>and iPod connector before having to purchase another car?
<v Speaker 2>I have no idea, my guy. That's a common for you.
<v Speaker 4>If I remember, I'll tell you, but I don't remember.
<v Speaker 4>Did you do that? Did you ever buy an older
<v Speaker 4>car to get your iPod to work? Is that something
<v Speaker 4>you did? Is it a video you forgot by an
<v Speaker 4>older car to get my iPod? That sounds funny, but
<v Speaker 4>I don't think it's like. I don't know if I
<v Speaker 4>can take credit for that.
<v Speaker 1>I have no idea what that's a reference to either,
<v Speaker 1>I don't remember. And that's the show. Thank you guys
<v Speaker 1>so much. I'll leave links down below for the sponsor
<v Speaker 1>and also for James. You can check out AVGN. I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure I'm sure you've heard of it. I appreciate. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I know I've said a lot, but thank you. It
<v Speaker 1>really this was cool, This was awesome. And I hope
<v Speaker 1>you get to do it again sometime. Absolutely, these are
<v Speaker 1>all the vip patreons that support the show. And we're
<v Speaker 1>also about to do a bonus episode. You don't have
<v Speaker 1>to do that, you can get out of here, but
<v Speaker 1>we're going to do a bonus episode all about poke
<v Speaker 1>Pea Pa Copia over on Patreon and also for YouTube members,
<v Speaker 1>exclusively for you guys. And I have a lot to say.
<v Speaker 1>I want to show you my game. I want to
<v Speaker 1>show you some of the things I've been working on
<v Speaker 1>and the Pokemon that I found. Uh, it's gonna be
<v Speaker 1>a lot of fun. And I want to hear your
<v Speaker 1>thought your thoughts hasn't had a chance. If you enjoyed
<v Speaker 1>the episode, like leave a coming down below and possibly subscribe.
<v Speaker 1>If you're listening to the audio, you could rate it
<v Speaker 1>five stars if you wanted. And uh, yeah, we almost
<v Speaker 1>got to the top ten chart again. Last we were
<v Speaker 1>I think we were thirteen Apple Charts again.
<v Speaker 2>There we're almost there.
<v Speaker 1>We're trying to break that ten. Uh, and that's everything.
<v Speaker 1>When these run out, we're out of here. When this
<v Speaker 1>runs out, we're out of here. Well three two, one,
<v Speaker 1>bye bye.
