He was a one to fifty one that year or one nineteen twenty one, twenty twenty two he was a one to fifty one ops. It was one o eight. Then twenty four he was one h two. So the numbers have kind of slowly gone down a little bit. And then last year he was in eighty seven and he only had twelve homers. The problem with him and the Cardinals people say it is he's lost his power, Like he'll hit you some singles, but he has no power, so you throw him into this Diamondbacks line up. He doesn't strike out a lot, which is nice for the Diamondbacks. He does take his walks, he puts the ball in play. He's not a high he's not a ton of an OHIGOOBP guy. His defense will be solid and if you put him in the six, five, six, seven range in that lineup. I think he'll be fine. I think especially going to Arizona from Saint Louis, which listen, in Arizona is a better place to hit than Saint Louis. Power might go up a little bit. He gets some games in Colorado, he gets some I think this is a nice move for the Diamondbacks. Listen, they were allegedly rumored to be in on Bregman. They clearly weren't going to the numbers that Pregnant got. So this is not a bad fallback option for the Diambacks. It's only two years. It's only two years.

And then all of a sudden they woke up and they were eight years behind, you know, knowing some people from behind the scenes and the Cardinals they were years behind on some of that stuff because they had certain things established in the big leagues. The minor leagues are just like, Okay, we'll just keep status quo, status quo. So he has to change that infrastructure and what people need to understand too. He's been at it for a year talking to him outside of the show, because I wasn't on the day that he was on. There's been a lot of change that's already like, hey, you know what, we can keep some of these coaches, but we need to add more in this area. We've seen success added in this area. And so for me, if I'm a Cardinal fan, I say, heck yeah, time Bloom, Heck yeah, we got all this money off of our roster. It's almost like getting free agents, Like they freed up this money off the roster. And I don't think the Cardinals are going to spend it, but I think hein Bloom. His one chance of setting an organization back on the right track was with the Red Sox, and you look where they're at now.

And it sucks if you're a Cardinals fan, but I think you guys have one of the right guys in the right place in charge to help this go faster than some other teams can do it.

Remember they had a deal to Houston and they ended up Houston pivoting quickly to Christian Walker. They couldn't find a spot for an Olan and he Zach paratees, Yeah, they added him too, that's true. And then apparently this time around, according to Katie Wu, who writes for The Athletic and is a host now on Dodgers' territory, but it is very connected with the Cardinals, she said that the talks this time around were like, Hey, we need more flexibility on your no trade list, and in exchange, we will be more flexible about how much money in the contract we eat so that we can make sure a deal gets done. They were not going to go into another season with Nolan there. It's not like he was bad for the club. They just want to move on. They want to get the youth movement going, they want to save money. They're not a playoff team this year, and so credit to both sides for agreeing to make sense, get this done, send him to a spot that he's probably pretty happy with. As we talked about many times in the show, most guys are a West Coast guy, go to Arizona. He's a West Coast guy.
