<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Game Mess Mornings with Me Jeff Grub,
<v Speaker 1>your host from GiantBomb dot com. Thank you for tuning in.
<v Speaker 1>In this episode, we're gonna be talking about a fifty
<v Speaker 1>foot Mario attacking New York City and Tad Howard knows
<v Speaker 1>that you want more fallout. It's gonna be a good
<v Speaker 1>one because we have John Martin on the show. John,
<v Speaker 1>how are you doing great?
<v Speaker 2>Jeff, I'm doing really well. How are you doing? You
<v Speaker 2>all packed up?
<v Speaker 3>No? I am not. I am. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I had a bunch of stuff to do last night.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't even get all that stuff done. But things
<v Speaker 1>are in motion, you know. I got some laundry still happening.
<v Speaker 1>I have some half finished projects. I gotta get all
<v Speaker 1>completed before I go, but looking forward to it. I
<v Speaker 1>am leaving tomorrow for the Bombiton.
<v Speaker 3>Everybody.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna be heading to the East Coast and that's
<v Speaker 1>five pm. We're gonna go for twenty four hours on Monday,
<v Speaker 1>so join us. That's Eastern time, five pm Eastern of course,
<v Speaker 1>and so yeah, we're gonna go, get set up, make
<v Speaker 1>sure everything's good to go, hang out a little bit.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Really, I'm really looking forward to it. It's gonna be
<v Speaker 1>a good time.
<v Speaker 3>Same here.
<v Speaker 2>I have Tuesday blocked off.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that everyone should take that day off. And we said,
<v Speaker 1>as we said, if you can't get it off, quit
<v Speaker 1>your job.
<v Speaker 3>Don't do that. Ye yeah, how you've been doing otherwise?
<v Speaker 2>John good?
<v Speaker 4>Over the weekend Like last week, I got like a
<v Speaker 4>bit of a cold and so kind of just meant
<v Speaker 4>was filling lousy Thursday, Friday and over the weekend, so
<v Speaker 4>just plenty of time for games in sleep, so playing,
<v Speaker 4>been playing a lot of games and now just feeling
<v Speaker 4>you know, the energy level is right now. I'm very
<v Speaker 4>excited big Friday energy. Very excited for the show.
<v Speaker 3>Me too.
<v Speaker 1>And you know what I say, we get on with it.
<v Speaker 1>Let's get started here and explain ourselves. For Giant Bomb
<v Speaker 1>Video Game, Dufases and Jeff Backlar and we like to
<v Speaker 1>make fun stuff and we need your help to do
<v Speaker 1>that because we are independent games media out here on
<v Speaker 1>our own, but only with your support are all things possible,
<v Speaker 1>including stuff like the Bambaton, stuff like going to SGF,
<v Speaker 1>doing stuff for the Game Awards. All that stuff is
<v Speaker 1>possible because your support, as well as all the fun
<v Speaker 1>things you see us doing day to day. We really
<v Speaker 1>appreciate everyone who has come through and has provided their
<v Speaker 1>ongoing support by going to GiantBomb dot com slash Joint
<v Speaker 1>and becoming a premium member, and if you want to
<v Speaker 1>become part of that, do the same.
<v Speaker 3>We really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 1>As far as this show goes most weekdays, I Jeff Grubb,
<v Speaker 1>will help piece your gaming life back together. That includes
<v Speaker 1>breaking news and maybe even some of our own original reporting.
<v Speaker 1>For all these topics, I'll get the input of a
<v Speaker 1>bona fide expert who will make me look smart.
<v Speaker 3>You are watching live on twitch Welcome.
<v Speaker 1>You can always listen to the show later on podcast
<v Speaker 1>feeds by searching for game Mes Mornings, or find the
<v Speaker 1>RSS feed on GiantBomb dot com. You can also catch
<v Speaker 1>the show later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 3>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the morning mess with Pokemon Legends ZA selling
<v Speaker 1>very well. In fact, it sold over five point eight
<v Speaker 1>million copies in one week. It's really solid for that game.
<v Speaker 1>It's also Pokemon. It's very predictable that it does this well.
<v Speaker 1>But I'll say that this one does seem like it
<v Speaker 1>is delivering on some of the things that game Freak
<v Speaker 1>needed to hit with the game that came after Scarlet
<v Speaker 1>and Violet, And at the very least, it doesn't seem
<v Speaker 1>like Scarlett and Violet is hurting this game, and this.
<v Speaker 3>Game is standing up on its own merits in my estimation.
<v Speaker 3>What do you think?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, no, I mean Za is off to a
<v Speaker 4>really good start, helps that it's a really good game
<v Speaker 4>this time. Yeah, this is kind of the primary game
<v Speaker 4>I've been playing all week. I'm like twenty seven hours in,
<v Speaker 4>I'm like rank B, so I'm in the end game now,
<v Speaker 4>having a blast doing it. It has been kind of
<v Speaker 4>like a dream game as someone who has grown up
<v Speaker 4>with the Pokemon franchise, and it really is kind of
<v Speaker 4>a culmination of a lot of things I've wanted to
<v Speaker 4>see As soon as I played Nino Cooney on the
<v Speaker 4>PS three, I've been like, why can't we just control
<v Speaker 4>the Pokemon? And we're getting closer. I really do like
<v Speaker 4>the emphasis on trainers still and the you Have the
<v Speaker 4>Legends series just kind of keeps on surprising. It's been
<v Speaker 4>my favorite thing they've done in many, many years.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it seems like it's kind of designed to.
<v Speaker 1>Like win people over a little bit that have been
<v Speaker 1>lost from the Pokemon fandom, Like, hey, here's some things
<v Speaker 1>that are very familiar, some characters you're really gonna like,
<v Speaker 1>some spaces that are also very familiar. And then here's
<v Speaker 1>just something slightly updated about the combat, and we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>maybe have.
<v Speaker 3>A little bit more of a focus for you to.
<v Speaker 1>Get into the flow of the of the loop here
<v Speaker 1>pretty early on, and it's like, yeah, that's it doesn't
<v Speaker 1>take much. People really like these characters already, so just
<v Speaker 1>giving them a solid game is going to work out
<v Speaker 1>just fine. And five point eight million copies, that's selling
<v Speaker 1>very well for sure. All right, let's keep going here though.
<v Speaker 1>Fallout four getting an anniversary edition and coming to Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Switch To. This is from Andy Robinson at VGC with
<v Speaker 1>US the Game Studios is announced Fallout four Anniversary Edition,
<v Speaker 1>a console and PC bundle that will also come to
<v Speaker 1>Switch To. Anniversary Edition bundles the ten year old RPG
<v Speaker 1>with its six official add ons, in addition to over
<v Speaker 1>one hundred and fifty pieces of Creation Club game mods.
<v Speaker 1>But has announced on Thursday. This is very similar to
<v Speaker 1>some of the stuff they've done before with some of
<v Speaker 1>their other games, especially Skyrim, but their Fallouts having a
<v Speaker 1>moment right now thanks to the TV show. This seems
<v Speaker 1>like a good start, right Like, this is the game
<v Speaker 1>that I think people are most likely to go back
<v Speaker 1>to if they are watching the TV show because it's
<v Speaker 1>the most recent, like real big release in the Fallout series.
<v Speaker 1>And continuing to sort of prep you know, prop that
<v Speaker 1>up and making it a little bit better here or
<v Speaker 1>there probably goes a decent way of sort of satiating
<v Speaker 1>anyone who's like, man, I really want to play one
<v Speaker 1>of these video games now that I really watched.
<v Speaker 3>I really enjoyed that show. How do you feel about it? Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>I mean fall At four was one of the first
<v Speaker 4>ones I played. I played a good amount of three
<v Speaker 4>back in the day, but kind of dropped it because
<v Speaker 4>it looked a little drab. I'm a little biased. Fall
<v Speaker 4>At four takes place in Boston. I've grown up in
<v Speaker 4>Massachusetts my entire life, so it's been kind of fun
<v Speaker 4>seeing where everything is now. My hometown is apparently a creator,
<v Speaker 4>so that's fun. But yeah, no, for sure, this is
<v Speaker 4>a game I actually revisited within the last couple of years.
<v Speaker 4>It was definitely a pandemic game. Me and my friends
<v Speaker 4>were playing it at the same time, I was kind
<v Speaker 4>of lapsed. But I think this is very smart. It's
<v Speaker 4>definitely one of the most accessible ones already, just in
<v Speaker 4>terms of it being available. I'm on our platforms and
<v Speaker 4>it reaching a bigger audience I think is great for that. Obviously,
<v Speaker 4>the season two push is going to be very, very strong,
<v Speaker 4>and they're probably hoping to get those numbers up, Like
<v Speaker 4>how seventy six that's that's the subtitle kind of got
<v Speaker 4>that huge boost after that first season of the show. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I think it's a good game, and it's definitely one
<v Speaker 4>of those things where we are in the waiting cycle
<v Speaker 4>for what is Fallout, Like what's the future of Fallout?
<v Speaker 4>We know they're working on it, but we don't know
<v Speaker 4>how long it's going to take. I forget, I don't
<v Speaker 4>know if they've like fast tracted above an Elder Scroll six,
<v Speaker 4>but I'm assuming Elder Scroll six is where we next
<v Speaker 4>see the testy game works proper.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, I mean it's a good game.
<v Speaker 4>Not the best game in the series in my opinion,
<v Speaker 4>just for some narrative reasons, but it is a really
<v Speaker 4>good time. Definitely the one I would recommend to people
<v Speaker 4>new to the franchise.
<v Speaker 2>So great to see this.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's kind of the easiest one to recommend, and
<v Speaker 1>it's like, well, if you like that, then we have
<v Speaker 1>some other ones to tell you about, for sure. But
<v Speaker 1>it's just like this is the right one to point
<v Speaker 1>them too, and they like, it does feel like this
<v Speaker 1>could work right obviously, like for the Last of Us,
<v Speaker 1>when that TV show is doing well, and then you
<v Speaker 1>have those games, games that just you know, have either
<v Speaker 1>been remade or came out recently enough that they just
<v Speaker 1>obviously look like games that could come out today.
<v Speaker 3>For sure.
<v Speaker 1>When you have that, that's like, yeah, of course that's
<v Speaker 1>going to work. First of all, that's an audience that
<v Speaker 1>was already into the narrative and the story, and now
<v Speaker 1>they're going to get a chance to play that narrative
<v Speaker 1>in that story in games that kind of look better
<v Speaker 1>better than just about anything else.
<v Speaker 3>That just makes sense.
<v Speaker 1>Wicher, even when that show was going off on Netflix,
<v Speaker 1>which or three really getting the benefit of that.
<v Speaker 3>It's like, yeah, Witcher three is definitely.
<v Speaker 1>Among the crop of games that's like, oh, that's kind
<v Speaker 1>of timeless in a lot of ways. It looks about
<v Speaker 1>as good as a game needs to look, and it
<v Speaker 1>has all the stuff in terms of storytelling and characters
<v Speaker 1>that that audience would like as well. I think Fallout four,
<v Speaker 1>even though it's a little bit older than some of
<v Speaker 1>those other games, just a little bit, but you know,
<v Speaker 1>it's also running on with this technology that can kind
<v Speaker 1>of feel crufty sometimes and stuff like that. So I
<v Speaker 1>think even this should still be able to go most
<v Speaker 1>of the way. But clearly they have to be frustrated
<v Speaker 1>that they don't have something more recent to tie to
<v Speaker 1>this TV show, right for sure.
<v Speaker 4>I definitely, like, I don't want to say it caught
<v Speaker 4>them blindsided, but with the talent that it was involved,
<v Speaker 4>you would think more of a regular you know, like
<v Speaker 4>a like a slate of things coming up beyond just
<v Speaker 4>more seventy six like expansions, updates, that's kind of been
<v Speaker 4>just a continuing thing. So there's not something like bright
<v Speaker 4>shining newns to get people to want to try this.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, this game is like ten years old.
<v Speaker 4>I didn't really realize it got like a next gen
<v Speaker 4>graphics update last year, so that definitely helps. Or I
<v Speaker 4>think I must have known but just completely forgot because
<v Speaker 4>so many other games coming out, But yeah, I I think, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>they might have been blindsided, but they're clearly kicking into gear.
<v Speaker 4>I think they are probably going to be thinking of
<v Speaker 4>other ways purpose repurposing, like older games, may a Fallout
<v Speaker 4>three to kind of like fee to us in more
<v Speaker 4>of a like Oblivion remaster remake remastered Is that the term?
<v Speaker 3>Ye for that one.
<v Speaker 1>It's like I think they call it a remaster, but
<v Speaker 1>it's like all the visuals are upgraded. I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>I don't really care anymore. Remake, remaster, we can call
<v Speaker 1>them whatever we want.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, same deal with like Metric Prime. It's just
<v Speaker 4>like I don't I don't doing anymore. But yeah, I'm
<v Speaker 4>I'm assuming we will hear more about Fallout in like
<v Speaker 4>the coming years. But yeah, but the show coming out
<v Speaker 4>seems like it'll be a good push for the holiday season.
<v Speaker 4>It's in a lot of new places that I think
<v Speaker 4>people will want those beefy RPGs, even though there's a
<v Speaker 4>lot coming out now, including some very stylistically similar to them,
<v Speaker 4>even releasing like this week.
<v Speaker 3>Yep. Definitely.
<v Speaker 1>I've been playing Outer Worlds to and enjoying it a ton,
<v Speaker 1>and it's uh if that game can make the case
<v Speaker 1>that Hey Fallout Fans of the TV show if you
<v Speaker 1>want something very similar, come over here. I don't know
<v Speaker 1>how easy that case is going to be to make,
<v Speaker 1>but they could try to do it.
<v Speaker 3>Oh well.
<v Speaker 1>Todd Howard, though, is teasing even more Fallout is coming,
<v Speaker 1>So here we go. This is from Eddie mccooch at
<v Speaker 1>GameSpot does this. Todd Howard has teased that even more
<v Speaker 1>Fallout is coming, with many taking that to be a
<v Speaker 1>suggestion about the game but the next games in the series.
<v Speaker 1>This would be no surprise given that Bethesta first revealed
<v Speaker 1>it was making Fallout five years ago or a new Fallout. Essentially,
<v Speaker 1>he just was like talking about all this new stuff.
<v Speaker 1>It was Fallout Day. That's where the last story kind
<v Speaker 1>of came from Fallout for Anniversary Edition, and he acknowledged,
<v Speaker 1>we know you want new Fallout, and I think you
<v Speaker 1>know there's been some reporting in the past that they
<v Speaker 1>are fully working on the next Fallout, Fallout five, but
<v Speaker 1>that is going to happen after Elder Scroll six, which
<v Speaker 1>is still deep into development and isn't due out for years.
<v Speaker 1>So it goes back to the thing we've always talked
<v Speaker 1>about with Fallout and years, but that this seems busy.
<v Speaker 1>Is there any other way to do something with this
<v Speaker 1>series other than like we're just waiting for that studio
<v Speaker 1>to get done with Elder Scroll six. And in the meantime,
<v Speaker 1>is Fallout five after you know, a Starfield something that
<v Speaker 1>we even have a lot of faith in. I'm someone
<v Speaker 1>who thought Starfield was okay in some ways, but definitely
<v Speaker 1>see its flaws and I think those flaws could show
<v Speaker 1>up in a Fallout five as well. But I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>how are you feeling about all this, the future of
<v Speaker 1>Fallout and kind of this ongoing promise of more coming
<v Speaker 1>at some vague point in the future.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think on the whole it's probably a bit
<v Speaker 4>easier of a time getting a bit more excited about Fallout.
<v Speaker 4>It's like a known quantity. But just in terms of
<v Speaker 4>like the format of a Fallout game, there's a lot
<v Speaker 4>more moments a moment. Stuff is wandering on one plane
<v Speaker 4>of existence. You're not like traveling through space. You're not
<v Speaker 4>zero gravitying and like and them, you know, bunkers on
<v Speaker 4>the Moon or something.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't.
<v Speaker 4>I played like fifteen hours of Starfield and had a
<v Speaker 4>good time, but it didn't really feel like I needed
<v Speaker 4>that itch quench at the time. But yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 4>again eld Elder Scroll six, that's that's still a big
<v Speaker 4>priority for them.
<v Speaker 2>It hasn't gotten.
<v Speaker 4>That like like outside media push that Fallout has gotten,
<v Speaker 4>and I think Fallout has had that bigger touch recently
<v Speaker 4>to kind of explode a bit more than just another
<v Speaker 4>Elder Scrolls game. People have been fervorished for this, So yeah,
<v Speaker 4>it's just kind of a matter of time of like,
<v Speaker 4>how are they gonna market this, how are they gonna
<v Speaker 4>allocate resources?
<v Speaker 2>Big question?
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I am looking forward to it. It should
<v Speaker 4>be a lot more no pun intended, but like down
<v Speaker 4>to Earth like, it seems like it'll be a lot
<v Speaker 4>easier to create that nice immersive emergent like moment to
<v Speaker 4>moment gameplay.
<v Speaker 1>In the meantime, while we kind of wait for them
<v Speaker 1>to suss this out, and in addition to Fallout four,
<v Speaker 1>they also have a new Fallout New Vegas fifteenth Anniversary
<v Speaker 1>bundle that they're prepping over there. Obviously that's an Obsidian game,
<v Speaker 1>but it's been it's it's you know, it's under the
<v Speaker 1>whole the same umbrella. Yeah, but so Bethesa said that
<v Speaker 1>they're going to put that out with an ultimate edition
<v Speaker 1>PC code, a statue of Victor, one of the characters
<v Speaker 1>from the game.
<v Speaker 3>And then a bunch of other like little goodies in there.
<v Speaker 1>So this this feels like the thing that is supposed
<v Speaker 1>to hit pretty hard once the show is out and
<v Speaker 1>has introduced all the New Vegas elements to that audience.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like, yeah, I think that they're gonna say, hey,
<v Speaker 1>go try Fallout four for now, then watch the show.
<v Speaker 1>Then New Vegas will be ready, and then I just
<v Speaker 1>what I expect to happen after that is there will
<v Speaker 1>be a substantial gap before even something like Virtuos who
<v Speaker 1>did the Oblivion remaster that we were talking about, could
<v Speaker 1>get onto remaking Fallout three or something like that. But
<v Speaker 1>you know, I do think that that probably does happen
<v Speaker 1>at this point, or if it didn't, I'd be confused
<v Speaker 1>because it seemed like that Oblivion game did very, very well.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, I think if that's if this is sort
<v Speaker 1>of the cadence, then there will probably be a big
<v Speaker 1>gap even after that Fallout three remake remaster, if we
<v Speaker 1>do get that before Fallout five is here. But it
<v Speaker 1>still feels like this is starting to soften the blow
<v Speaker 1>a little bit.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, I don't know it.
<v Speaker 1>Feels like we ended up here because Microsoft kind of
<v Speaker 1>mismanaged this series or couldn't figure out a way to
<v Speaker 1>capitalize on something that was already very hot and then
<v Speaker 1>was going to do even better because of the show.
<v Speaker 4>Right, Yeah, I mean this is kind of like the
<v Speaker 4>same deal with like kind of really utilizing that Halo
<v Speaker 4>show that was coming out, and then a lot of
<v Speaker 4>people didn't like that, and then Halo Infinite also disappointed
<v Speaker 4>a lot of people. I had a lot of fun
<v Speaker 4>with Halo Infinite, but it definitely wasn't what a lot
<v Speaker 4>of people wanted at the time. It also just didn't
<v Speaker 4>have multiplayer campaign co op, and that's what Halo kind
<v Speaker 4>of has always been to me, that like multiplayer aspect.
<v Speaker 4>So yeah, this isn't the first time that Microsoft not
<v Speaker 4>knowing how to really double down on a extra media release. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I we'll see more. I'm sure there's Gears of War
<v Speaker 4>movie coming up, and there'll be a new Gears of
<v Speaker 4>War game. We'll see if that happens. But yeah, it
<v Speaker 4>definitely feels like they kind of dropped the ball a
<v Speaker 4>little bit or just let them off, like hang out
<v Speaker 4>in their walls guarden and like we're making all this stuff,
<v Speaker 4>but we're not really thinking about the other stuff that's
<v Speaker 4>going here. It's just like we're working on these things
<v Speaker 4>in parallel and we'll see what comes out first.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we could probably move on from that. Let's
<v Speaker 1>actually take a break. We're gonna do that when we
<v Speaker 1>come back. Plenty more headlines to get into. If you
<v Speaker 1>want to skip out on these, you can go to
<v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com side.
<v Speaker 3>Joint become a premium member.
<v Speaker 1>There's a premium version version of the of the audio show,
<v Speaker 1>premium version of the video show. Those don't include ads.
<v Speaker 1>But in the meantime, we will be right back.
<v Speaker 3>What's that. Can you hear that? Folks?
<v Speaker 5>It's oh god, it's coming down the pike.
<v Speaker 2>It's the Giant Bambathon. My goodness, folks.
<v Speaker 5>We are one week away or less, depending on when
<v Speaker 5>you're hearing this. That's right, The Giant Bambathon is coming
<v Speaker 5>your way, live from the East Coast five pm Eastern
<v Speaker 5>on Monday, October twenty seventh to five pm Eastern on Tuesday,
<v Speaker 5>October twenty eighth.
<v Speaker 3>Take Tuesday off. Listen.
<v Speaker 5>We had to do this on a Monday night. We
<v Speaker 5>know it's during the week. Take Tuesday off. Take it off. Now,
<v Speaker 5>get your requests and that's right, twenty four hours of
<v Speaker 5>local multiplayer shenanigans, gimmicks, fun, hullabaloo, all this uff, Pyro Balley,
<v Speaker 5>who know no Pyro. We had the confetti cannon last time.
<v Speaker 5>That didn't work. Well, We're gonna have a lot of fun, folks.
<v Speaker 5>It's gonna be the five owners of Giant Bomb.
<v Speaker 3>You know who we are.
<v Speaker 5>And we also have Chuck and Sean flying out to
<v Speaker 5>join the festivities. That's right. Remember Monday at five pm
<v Speaker 5>and to Tuesday at five pm. Take Tuesday off work.
<v Speaker 5>We're gonna be there live on Twitch on YouTube. Check
<v Speaker 5>us out. It's gonna be a lot of fun and
<v Speaker 5>uh we'll make it worth your while. We got some incentives.
<v Speaker 5>We got some we got some stuff you might like
<v Speaker 5>to see. I got things. I'm biting my tongue on.
<v Speaker 5>I'd like to say some of these incentives, but you'll
<v Speaker 5>have to tune in Monday night, five pm Eastern.
<v Speaker 3>Be there the Giant Bamathon. It's Game Mess Mornings.
<v Speaker 1>We're back, John Martin, Jeff Grubb, We're gonna get back
<v Speaker 1>into it real quick.
<v Speaker 3>Someone.
<v Speaker 1>Occasionally people will send us stuff, especially for Black cloaks.
<v Speaker 1>They want to see us suffer, and someone is talking
<v Speaker 1>about sending us a the d the Mad Cats DC Panther,
<v Speaker 1>which is a Dreamcast controller that was built specifically for
<v Speaker 1>the video game Kiss Psycho Circus.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>And so I'm like, well, all right, that's SEMs like
<v Speaker 1>a match made in Heaven. I gotta so we can
<v Speaker 1>get our hands on that bad boy. And then I
<v Speaker 1>have a couple of people in mind who I'd like
<v Speaker 1>to see play that game. So we'll see, We'll see everybody,
<v Speaker 1>all right, let's get back into it. Battlefield six is
<v Speaker 1>battle Royale mode could be a shadow drop for next week.
<v Speaker 1>This is from ediem Koo at game Spot. But this
<v Speaker 1>is the reporting going around and after some data mining
<v Speaker 1>that this will drop on the twenty eighth of next week,
<v Speaker 1>I believe is what people are expecting. H And also
<v Speaker 1>that lines up with what I have heard as well. John,
<v Speaker 1>this is gonna be like, correct me if I'm wrong.
<v Speaker 1>This is their free to play big push like alongside
<v Speaker 1>of Battlefield six. This is the thing that was always
<v Speaker 1>meant to get them to one hundred million players at
<v Speaker 1>some point, the thing that they talked about early on.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like it could have a pretty big pop off,
<v Speaker 1>but I don't know what is what do you think
<v Speaker 1>the appetite is out there for a Battlefield battle Royale?
<v Speaker 4>So it's interesting, right, like because Battlefield and battle Royale
<v Speaker 4>never really mixed to my head, but in terms of
<v Speaker 4>appealing to the mass market in terms of they're not
<v Speaker 4>like Battlefield really hasn't had that huge space in the
<v Speaker 4>shooters scene. Like it's definitely had its own niche, and
<v Speaker 4>that niche is big. It's like million bigger than most
<v Speaker 4>games could ever dream to be.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, for sure.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I mean this is the one that, like
<v Speaker 4>you said, this is gonna be what people are gonna
<v Speaker 4>be testing out. This is gonna be how people are
<v Speaker 4>trying out the gameplay for the first time, how they're
<v Speaker 4>going to be seeing, whoa, this is what Battlefield does.
<v Speaker 4>That's actually really sick, Like are we gonna have like
<v Speaker 4>exploding like buildings and stuff? And yeah, I know, I
<v Speaker 4>know Call of Duty Wardzone also has that kind of stuff,
<v Speaker 4>but on this grandiose, next gen kind of scale, I
<v Speaker 4>think that's going to be very big. It's definitely going
<v Speaker 4>to get me to get a lot of other people
<v Speaker 4>who are curious about like being in the know and
<v Speaker 4>being able to talk about a Battlefield six without having
<v Speaker 4>to drop that seventy eighty dollars price tag. I think seventy.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I think this is a very smart idea.
<v Speaker 4>It speaks to a market that has grown up in
<v Speaker 4>a space where shooters have been a little bit more segmented.
<v Speaker 3>Like you have your.
<v Speaker 4>Hero shooters, you have your traditional first person shooters, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>and you have like battle real games like that's been
<v Speaker 4>a huge push recently. So it's going to be a
<v Speaker 4>big I don't want to say make or break because
<v Speaker 4>I think with the word of mouth, it's going to
<v Speaker 4>contribute to a lot more people trying this.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm curious.
<v Speaker 4>I wonder if it'll hit like Apex Legends numbers or yeah,
<v Speaker 4>if it even goes beyond that, it's a it's a
<v Speaker 4>big question mark.
<v Speaker 2>But I have hope. Seems like it's going to be
<v Speaker 2>a good time.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And you know, I saw someone in a chat say this,
<v Speaker 1>and I think this is right that they've never publicly
<v Speaker 1>confirmed if it is free to play or not. Let's
<v Speaker 1>let's sum for second, it's not what do you what
<v Speaker 1>do you think that does? It's like to me, it's
<v Speaker 1>like that because all of the other ones, for the
<v Speaker 1>most part, are free, including war Zone, which would be
<v Speaker 1>this huge competitor that you would it would be such
<v Speaker 1>a tough comparison.
<v Speaker 3>But there does still seem like a lot. There's a
<v Speaker 3>lot of momentum.
<v Speaker 1>Still around Battlefield six and it has sold a lot,
<v Speaker 1>so they still would be able to get a lot of.
<v Speaker 3>Players in there.
<v Speaker 1>But to me, it's like, I don't know, why are
<v Speaker 1>you talking about one hundred million players if you don't
<v Speaker 1>have a major free to play component, because we're not
<v Speaker 1>We're not talking about this game selling one hundred million
<v Speaker 1>copies in no way.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean I can't imagine that a side mode
<v Speaker 4>for like twenty to forty That's what I assume if
<v Speaker 4>it did cost anything.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, that's a mode in Battlefield six. Maybe that's
<v Speaker 1>the way it is.
<v Speaker 4>Right, Yeah, and then maybe just download the launch truth
<v Speaker 4>be told, I have not tried Battlefield six yet. I
<v Speaker 4>have just built my PC this year, and I was
<v Speaker 4>kind of worried about doing stuff with the Colonel, but
<v Speaker 4>it seems like it's a good time.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of my friends are loving it.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I just don't really think that selling it
<v Speaker 4>for twenty to forty dollars will boost that numbers and
<v Speaker 4>the way that you want in the way that will
<v Speaker 4>be sustainable in this weird EA purchased world. I think
<v Speaker 4>you really got to show to I guess it's not
<v Speaker 4>shareholders anymore either. It's like you want that micro transaction
<v Speaker 4>money to keep other projects you're taking taking a chance
<v Speaker 4>on afloat.
<v Speaker 3>Yep, it's I think that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, people point out there was a Firestorm, which was
<v Speaker 1>a similar thing that was in Battlefield twenty forty two,
<v Speaker 1>and that was behind the paywall of buying the game,
<v Speaker 1>and it didn't it didn't work out, and so yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I think to me, like there's only maybe there's the
<v Speaker 1>only circumstantial evidence, but the circumstantial evidence of saying one
<v Speaker 1>hundred million players screams to me that this thing.
<v Speaker 3>Has to be free to play. So we'll see.
<v Speaker 1>Again, this thing's got a shadow drop, so I think
<v Speaker 1>we won't get all the official details until the moment
<v Speaker 1>where it becomes available, so we'll know in that moment.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, I'm I'm interested to see what it can do. Mostly,
<v Speaker 1>it's a kind of an academic curiosity to this point,
<v Speaker 1>like an established franchise doing what we think it's going
<v Speaker 1>to be a free to play battle rayale. What does
<v Speaker 1>that do in the year twenty twenty five. Is that
<v Speaker 1>something that could still really move the needle, because I
<v Speaker 1>think probably, but who knows, Maybe gamers have moved on
<v Speaker 1>and it's like, Okay, this is something we will try
<v Speaker 1>out very briefly and then fall off of because it's
<v Speaker 1>very familiar in a lot of ways.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know, we'll see, uh.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, Assassin's Creed Shadows is coming to switch To finally
<v Speaker 1>and officially confirm this. It is due out December second,
<v Speaker 1>and they'll have that cool Ubisoft you play Ubisoft Connect
<v Speaker 1>cross saves in the cloud, which I've found to be
<v Speaker 1>actually very useful. So this is a game that maybe
<v Speaker 1>you've already bought somewhere or started playing somewhere.
<v Speaker 3>Well, now you could take it with you on the
<v Speaker 3>switch too.
<v Speaker 1>They showed off a pretty lengthy trailer where the game
<v Speaker 1>looked pretty solid, but of course we're gonna have to
<v Speaker 1>see it for ourselves. But it does seem like Ubisoft's
<v Speaker 1>finding their footing on the switch To and I think
<v Speaker 1>this game should do all right on there.
<v Speaker 3>What do you think?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean, if it has that poor quality that
<v Speaker 4>uh Jould, I oh my god, Star Star Wars Outlaws,
<v Speaker 4>Star Wars Outlaws, thank you. Yeah, I was downloading that
<v Speaker 4>last the demo on the Switch last night. I don't
<v Speaker 4>even know how I forgot that name already, but uh yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I mean, like obviously Assassin Creed, big name. It being
<v Speaker 4>somewhat comparable to the main consoles, I think we'll have
<v Speaker 4>a lot of Nintendo fans really interested in trying that.
<v Speaker 4>We've gotten those kind of skilled back like et CEO Trilogy,
<v Speaker 4>the Black Flag Duology or whatnot, and I think those
<v Speaker 4>have charted in the past, especially when they go on
<v Speaker 4>sale because soft. But yeah, no, this is something I'm
<v Speaker 4>interested in as someone who got it for free buying
<v Speaker 4>I think my one of my graphics cards or something
<v Speaker 4>and trying it for a little bit, but it not
<v Speaker 4>being on Steam, it being on the Ubisoft platform, having
<v Speaker 4>that cross Saves and societyd and't buy it. I honestly
<v Speaker 4>will probably give it a shot. I'll give Shadows a shot.
<v Speaker 4>I think this is kind of only good news.
<v Speaker 3>Really.
<v Speaker 4>There's it is sixty now, right, like the dust is settled.
<v Speaker 4>We know at sixty dollars. There was some like weird
<v Speaker 4>missed reporting or something. It was like seventy, it was eighty,
<v Speaker 4>it was sixty, but dollars.
<v Speaker 1>Right, this is the one where it's like I think
<v Speaker 1>it got reported in euros and then that threw things off.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, something like that.
<v Speaker 1>I can't remember the exact details, but yeah, I think
<v Speaker 1>they said you could pre order it now at sixty dollars.
<v Speaker 3>You know that cool?
<v Speaker 1>You know, I think people expect YOURSEFF games to be
<v Speaker 1>maybe even less than that these days when they're getting
<v Speaker 1>ported later.
<v Speaker 3>But because you know, that's that's the switch tax, that's
<v Speaker 3>the switch to tax.
<v Speaker 1>Of like, we're putting this out on Nintendo, on a
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo system, you should maybe feel a little bit lucky
<v Speaker 1>that you're even getting this game, which.
<v Speaker 3>Is absurd because we're going to buy it.
<v Speaker 2>We're in a service exactly.
<v Speaker 3>It's absurd.
<v Speaker 1>But I bet that's the way they like try to
<v Speaker 1>justify it and keep the price higher than it is
<v Speaker 1>on other platforms.
<v Speaker 3>For sure, we'll see.
<v Speaker 1>I hope this game works out well because I do
<v Speaker 1>want major third party publishers to keep putting their game
<v Speaker 1>out on the switch to and you so it's kind
<v Speaker 1>of like a little bit lighting the way of that
<v Speaker 1>just a little bit, all right, new Halo project getting
<v Speaker 1>announced today, at least that's according to the reporting. Later
<v Speaker 1>this week, Microsoft will announce a new Halo release. That
<v Speaker 1>was from a story from Jason Tryer earlier this week,
<v Speaker 1>referencing today, there's gonna be it's like a Halo competition,
<v Speaker 1>Halo Championship sort of thing. A.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know the details because I don't really care
<v Speaker 1>all that much, but I do know that they're going
<v Speaker 1>to announce something new today. The rumors going around it
<v Speaker 1>will be is that it's some sort of Halo one
<v Speaker 1>remaster of some sorts, and that it is a going
<v Speaker 1>to be coming to PlayStation. And again, some of that
<v Speaker 1>comes from you, Jason Tryer, some of that comes from
<v Speaker 1>other places. But I think that the likely scenario here
<v Speaker 1>is that, yes, this is going to be something smaller
<v Speaker 1>in terms of scope as a reason to get a
<v Speaker 1>Halo game out on PlayStation.
<v Speaker 3>And what do you think about that? John? Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>I mean you can see for yourself. I'm both shuddering
<v Speaker 4>from excitement. I'm moving so fast, I'm like.
<v Speaker 2>Blurring out excited to be at RBS.
<v Speaker 4>I'm excited, excited to be playing another version of Halo one. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I'll try to get the blurry just figured out. But yeah, no,
<v Speaker 4>I mean obviously this is the big step. This is
<v Speaker 4>the big one. Where this is I mean the kind
<v Speaker 4>of break that glass in case of emergency sort of deal,
<v Speaker 4>Like they want people to remember what happened with Alo,
<v Speaker 4>they want to remember where it kind of came from.
<v Speaker 4>And yeah, well we'll see how this goes. It's it
<v Speaker 4>being on PlayStation potentially anyway would be that big leap.
<v Speaker 4>And it's just like, I mean, there shouldn't be any
<v Speaker 4>doubt now that like Microsoft is practically a third party
<v Speaker 4>at this point. But that's the big hurdle, that's the
<v Speaker 4>big leap, and that's going to be the big test.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, for it did really well. I wonder if
<v Speaker 4>Halo I don't know, Console wars are so stupid, but
<v Speaker 4>I didn't know if there would be any pettiness. I
<v Speaker 4>think people would just like to play those games because
<v Speaker 4>they've not had an opportunity to. It also gives Microsoft
<v Speaker 4>a way to resell all of those games individually if
<v Speaker 4>they're breaking off Halo one from releasing a master Chief
<v Speaker 4>collection or something, so hey we'll get a two, we'll
<v Speaker 4>get a three, we'll get a rech remastered. I don't know,
<v Speaker 4>but like, yeah, I mean I love Halo still Microsoft
<v Speaker 4>with standing, so I would definitely check it out. I'm
<v Speaker 4>always down to replay Halo one with my buddies, So
<v Speaker 4>it's kind of an exciting assitement announcement for me.
<v Speaker 2>What about you, You want to go back to.
<v Speaker 1>Halo, Yeah, I mean, I'm like curious to see it,
<v Speaker 1>and uh like because you know, they did master Chief Collection,
<v Speaker 1>which was some remastering, and then it also had like
<v Speaker 1>a full suite of Aline multiplayer stuff to get the
<v Speaker 1>sense that this is not that and you know, Halo
<v Speaker 1>is about multiplayers. So if that's not included here, especially
<v Speaker 1>when it goes over to PlayStation, how exciting will it
<v Speaker 1>actually be for people?
<v Speaker 3>Do they Maybe they have some other solution for that.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe they are also going to put out master Chief
<v Speaker 1>Collection on PlayStation.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe they or that and switch.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe they are going to just put Halo Infinite out
<v Speaker 1>on these other platforms and be like, hey, we'll do
<v Speaker 1>this for now while we get the next real major
<v Speaker 1>Halo release with a full multiplayer sweet ready. But in
<v Speaker 1>the meantime, this game's still fun to play, and you
<v Speaker 1>can play it on PlayStation now, So yeah, I'm curious
<v Speaker 1>to see how.
<v Speaker 3>It's all going to work out.
<v Speaker 1>I do think that the PlayStation audience will probably perk
<v Speaker 1>up at a little bit, but I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>it's going to do even do forts Horizon numbers just
<v Speaker 1>because it's sports.
<v Speaker 3>Horizon's this kind of perfect modern game.
<v Speaker 1>It's so good in all these ways, and this feels
<v Speaker 1>like a little bit of an afterthought or a or
<v Speaker 1>maybe maybe a more fair way of putting it is
<v Speaker 1>like an appetizer. Here is something to get you used
<v Speaker 1>to the idea of Halo, and we'll go from there.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know hundred percent agree.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, No, Forsa is kind of that last bastion of
<v Speaker 4>like the arcade racing games. Besides just indies there, they
<v Speaker 4>seem to be kind of the only people doing it
<v Speaker 4>to just like not even just create a sim but
<v Speaker 4>just create a game that's fun for everyone. Yeah, if
<v Speaker 4>Halo does I have a multiplayer that definitely timbers my
<v Speaker 4>expectations a lot.
<v Speaker 2>That's going to be a big buzz killed.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I I with these Microsoft games coming to
<v Speaker 4>place in PlayStation, coming to switch, it's it's always interesting
<v Speaker 4>and exciting to see what that kind of brings in
<v Speaker 4>the future.
<v Speaker 3>Yep, all right, let's keep going here.
<v Speaker 1>Fortnite Cross the Simpsons leaks reveal battle pass lineup and
<v Speaker 1>map of Springfield. We kind of talked about this earlier
<v Speaker 1>this week, and now we get a little bit more
<v Speaker 1>details from more data mining. This comes comes from Blair
<v Speaker 1>Marnell at GameSpot. The rumors about a Simpson themed Simpsons
<v Speaker 1>themed season of Fortnite began earlier this year, but it's
<v Speaker 1>been picking up steam in the last few weeks now.
<v Speaker 1>Some apparent leaks have revealed which Simpson's characters will be
<v Speaker 1>in the battle pass and what fans can expect from
<v Speaker 1>the map of Springfield. According to this leak, the battle
<v Speaker 1>pass includes Homer Simpson and his wife Marge Simpson.
<v Speaker 3>Weird way of putting it.
<v Speaker 1>Ned Flanders appears to confirm a previous rumor, and there's
<v Speaker 1>and there's no sign of Bart, Lisa or even Mo
<v Speaker 1>although one of the one of the like key art
<v Speaker 1>pieces has Bart in like a little mech like running around,
<v Speaker 1>so I bet Bart, I bet Bart does show up.
<v Speaker 1>There's other other kinds of cosmetics, and then there is
<v Speaker 1>the map of Springfield, which is it's like we speculated
<v Speaker 1>earlier this week. It is the normal Fortnite map for
<v Speaker 1>the most part, with a lot of Simpsons integrated on
<v Speaker 1>top of it, including like the nuclear power plant in the.
<v Speaker 3>Northeast or whatever. And it looks it looks really good,
<v Speaker 3>it looks really fun. It gets me.
<v Speaker 1>It's the kind of thing that really does make me
<v Speaker 1>go I should play more Fortnite, which is the whole idea.
<v Speaker 1>That's that's the whole idea of why they keep doing
<v Speaker 1>these things. It's crazy how frequently they have these things.
<v Speaker 1>Right now, they are like still like finishing up the
<v Speaker 1>K Pop Demon Hunter stuff. This Simpsons stuff is getting
<v Speaker 1>started here soon, and they also have Halloween like activations
<v Speaker 1>inside the game happening at the same time. It's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh god, that game is just a NonStop parade of distractions.
<v Speaker 1>But again, that's the kind of the star of the
<v Speaker 1>show for that thing, right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, member Barry's the game is what I've
<v Speaker 2>described it as for.
<v Speaker 3>The longest time. It's definitely.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's fun too, Like I mean, that is a
<v Speaker 4>game that a lot of my friends are playing because
<v Speaker 4>it's free to play, so even if they spend a
<v Speaker 4>couple dollars on a scan and gets them to play
<v Speaker 4>for that much longer. New seasons like this always have
<v Speaker 4>a lot of people excited. I'm curious to see like
<v Speaker 4>kind of the overlap of the Simpsons and Fortnite audience,
<v Speaker 4>Like people who watch early Simpsons might like it, but
<v Speaker 4>like for new people who don't really know the Simpsons
<v Speaker 4>out of side of like TikTok shorts, it's gonna be interesting.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, this is just another one of those. Because
<v Speaker 4>and he pumped a lot of money into epic games
<v Speaker 4>like a while ago. This definitely seems like one of
<v Speaker 4>the first things they were thinking of doing beyond the
<v Speaker 4>Star Wars and the Marvel and all that kind of stuff.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, it's interesting. I definitely will be playing, maybe
<v Speaker 4>even just like I don't know, I think there's like
<v Speaker 4>you could probably do single player just to like make
<v Speaker 4>your own Simpsons hit and run kind of deal, because
<v Speaker 4>he refused to making that stuff. But yeah, I mean,
<v Speaker 4>like that's a lot of what these UGC games are
<v Speaker 4>nowadays is just making your own fun. So yeah, it
<v Speaker 4>seems like a good sandbox to kind of mess around
<v Speaker 4>with for a little while.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and it's I learned this when I got the
<v Speaker 1>kids the K Pop Demon Hunter stuff. The community really
<v Speaker 1>does roadblocks the hell out of these things. Now, they
<v Speaker 1>like take all these assets and build games on top
<v Speaker 1>of them, and a lot of.
<v Speaker 3>It's just really bad crap, but kids don't care.
<v Speaker 2>But it's literally described as brain rod.
<v Speaker 1>Yes literally, yeah there proudly brain rot and it's but
<v Speaker 1>you know, I maybe you could do some fun stuff
<v Speaker 1>with the Simpsons characters that way.
<v Speaker 3>I guess that's interesting to me to a certain point.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think anything is gonna be like, like is
<v Speaker 1>going to feel like a full fledged hit and run,
<v Speaker 1>but maybe someone could do like a fake one of
<v Speaker 1>those in Fortnite. Now, all right, The Mario Balloon will
<v Speaker 1>make its debut at the ninety ninth Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
<v Speaker 1>This is from my Nintendo News, but that you know,
<v Speaker 1>that's the story of fifty one foot Mario is gonna
<v Speaker 1>start showing up in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, gonna
<v Speaker 1>have his Super Mario Galaxy flying pose. It sounds like
<v Speaker 1>so this feels very much like, Hey, we're getting ready
<v Speaker 1>for the movie coming out next year, which I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>It's I'm almost surprised Mario's not been in there before.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe he has, but you know, if he's not been
<v Speaker 1>in there consistently like Snoopy or whatever, I'm like, Mario's
<v Speaker 1>got more juiced and Snoopy these days, right, so more
<v Speaker 1>interesting from that perspective maybe.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm a huge mark for the Thanksgiving tape parade.
<v Speaker 1>I like Thanksgiving a lot and seeing Mario and there
<v Speaker 1>will be like, all right, that's pretty cool.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean that's kind of what it is nowadays,
<v Speaker 4>is just seeing clips from upcoming musicals that you're kind
<v Speaker 4>of interested in hearing about and characters there. I yeah,
<v Speaker 4>it would be weird if even like late eighties early
<v Speaker 4>nineties that Mario didn't have some like kind of crude
<v Speaker 4>resemblance to like any Super Nintendo era Mario. But I'm
<v Speaker 4>you know, I'm excited for Mario. I was also excited
<v Speaker 4>when they added Monkey de Lofy from One Piece, which
<v Speaker 4>I really love, and then they like deflated his hat,
<v Speaker 4>which is kind of his like trademark thing. So I
<v Speaker 4>hope like we don't see like a saggy deflated Luma
<v Speaker 4>or something that would be a sad sight to see
<v Speaker 4>and honestly, probably i'd be devastating.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I yeah, exactly, so we'll see I expect
<v Speaker 1>them to kind of keep like turning up the volume
<v Speaker 1>on Mario hype as they get closer to that second movie.
<v Speaker 1>This will be right around the fortieth anniversary of the games,
<v Speaker 1>so the Super Mario Brothers Games. They will likely mention
<v Speaker 1>that we know that they made a big, you know,
<v Speaker 1>significant portion of that most recent direct about Hey, if
<v Speaker 1>the fortieth anniversary of Super Mario Brothers, here's some DLC
<v Speaker 1>for Super Mario Brothers Wonder, here's a few other things.
<v Speaker 1>But they're probably gonna want to continue pushing Mario into next.
<v Speaker 3>Year as they do get closer to the movie.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think that mostly just takes the form of
<v Speaker 1>reminding the more casual consumer that stuff like Super Mario
<v Speaker 1>Brothers Wonder and Donkey Kong Bonanza exists. So if you
<v Speaker 1>want to like take your excitement for the movie home,
<v Speaker 1>you could just go buy these things. Or do you
<v Speaker 1>think they try to have something new whatever the scope
<v Speaker 1>of that might be.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if they do show something new.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, we're getting closer to the holidays, so marketing
<v Speaker 4>for the new movie wants to kind of take place.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, see universal as the come like student they
<v Speaker 4>own illumination that makes uh the Super Mario Brothers movies,
<v Speaker 4>So they I would assume Nintendo and them would want
<v Speaker 4>some kind of brand brand synergy. Yeah, that Mario Wonder
<v Speaker 4>DLC is a good call out. Donkey Kong Bonanza, really
<v Speaker 4>good call out. People are still playing those games and
<v Speaker 4>still discovering them for the first time. Yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 4>this is this is coordinated. They're probably gonna walk past
<v Speaker 4>the Nintendo headquarters and they'll probably be like, yeah, stay
<v Speaker 4>on the top floor and look for Mario.
<v Speaker 2>It'll be good time. Pikachu will be there too. Uh.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, definitely some brand synergy is going on here. And
<v Speaker 4>I don't know if we'll get anything like a new
<v Speaker 4>game announcement that would be wild. Like the only thing
<v Speaker 4>close I can think of was like Jimmy Fallon having
<v Speaker 4>like a look at the Switch and the Right of
<v Speaker 4>the Wild super early also NBC, So maybe there's something there.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but even like even like separate from the parade,
<v Speaker 1>like they probably yeah, like because this is like clearly
<v Speaker 1>just a run up to the glasses or smudge and
<v Speaker 1>I was trying to clean up, but I didn't do
<v Speaker 1>a very good job.
<v Speaker 3>I think even as we like run up to the.
<v Speaker 1>Movie, though, though, they'll just like want to be like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>like we're all in on like Galaxy related stuff, but
<v Speaker 1>they already put.
<v Speaker 3>Out Super Mario Galaxy one and two. Again, I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>I bet they will try to like make a big
<v Speaker 1>deal out of Mario as they get close to the movie,
<v Speaker 1>but I think they've probably shot their shot with the
<v Speaker 1>stuff that they have available to them.
<v Speaker 3>Short of announcing a new three D Mario.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, yeah, which like we're still like I believe we're
<v Speaker 1>probably closer to a three D Mario than like, Oh,
<v Speaker 1>the fact that Donkey Kung Bananza came out last year
<v Speaker 1>might suggest because it does seem like they tried to
<v Speaker 1>build up another team to sort of take on that
<v Speaker 1>project while some of the other people that were in
<v Speaker 1>charge of Mario Odyssey must have been working on something else.
<v Speaker 1>What could it be? And I am choosing to believe
<v Speaker 1>that is a three D Mario. But do you think
<v Speaker 1>we get to a like I think the movie comes
<v Speaker 1>out in like April or something like that. Do you
<v Speaker 1>think we get to that and by then there were
<v Speaker 1>they will have already announced a new three D Mario,
<v Speaker 1>or do you think this is something that still happens
<v Speaker 1>quite a bit later.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, I'm leaning toward happening in quite a bit later.
<v Speaker 4>Like I mean, obviously, we have their yearly February direct
<v Speaker 4>that usually happens for something in the morning, but like
<v Speaker 4>that usually pushes games coming out within the financial or
<v Speaker 4>not the financial yet, but the calendar year.
<v Speaker 2>Twenty twenty six, so it's possible.
<v Speaker 4>I'm on the hopium. I really want to three D Mario.
<v Speaker 4>Donkey Kong was my favorite, Like I loved Donkey Kong,
<v Speaker 4>one of my favorite games in recent memory, and it
<v Speaker 4>would be really cool to see Mario evolve even a
<v Speaker 4>bit further. Let's see what they can do with kind
<v Speaker 4>of that increased hardware. I'm always interested to see that.
<v Speaker 4>I would love it to be next year. I don't
<v Speaker 4>really see it, and they're still supporting Wonders, So it's like,
<v Speaker 4>I don't know what you do short of like a
<v Speaker 4>Mario RPG. Maybe they have the uh Dragon studio that
<v Speaker 4>made the remake Arte Forzer or something.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe they are pumping on a new game. They made
<v Speaker 2>all those beautiful models and CG.
<v Speaker 4>So maybe it's just I mean, the boring answer would
<v Speaker 4>be we have new DLC for Mario's Conniverse where we're
<v Speaker 4>going to like sixty four levels or sunshine levels in
<v Speaker 4>World or something and we can explore.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, I'll take anything for World.
<v Speaker 4>It is kind of crazy, especially having seen like what
<v Speaker 4>is a cumulative like one hundred ten minutes of Kirby
<v Speaker 4>air Riders, and it's like, Wow, there's a lot of
<v Speaker 4>content here, and you're slowly looking over to the next
<v Speaker 4>booth over and it's like, well, how are you justifying
<v Speaker 4>that extra ten bucks?
<v Speaker 2>It doesn't really make sense.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, yeah, you know, I uh yeah, I'm hopeful.
<v Speaker 1>I think I'm with you on the opium, but I
<v Speaker 1>think the realistic thing is we probably get that Mario
<v Speaker 1>game in like twenty two, twenty seven, and so they
<v Speaker 1>probably pulled off on talking about it anytime soon. All right,
<v Speaker 1>let's do the poll question that was all for the headlines.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see are you going to play Outer Worlds two?
<v Speaker 1>That is up on our YouTube channel where you could
<v Speaker 1>find our post. I'm gonna say yes because I am
<v Speaker 1>playing it. So did forty nine percent of respond It's
<v Speaker 1>almost half of respondents said yes they're going to play
<v Speaker 1>Outer Worlds two fifty one percent said no games doing
<v Speaker 1>pretty well in reviews. It's kind of like right in
<v Speaker 1>the same zone as many of the Cityan's recent games
<v Speaker 1>avowed and Outer Worlds won. I think Outer Worlds two
<v Speaker 1>is my favorite of theirs of those three so far. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it just it feels like the most fully fleshed out,
<v Speaker 1>fully realized.
<v Speaker 3>So I think people are gonna have a good time
<v Speaker 3>with this in this one. It is on game Pass
<v Speaker 3>if you are still.
<v Speaker 1>Subscribed to that, I guess, although I get the sense
<v Speaker 1>that many in our audience are no longer actually subscribed
<v Speaker 1>to that, but by.
<v Speaker 2>The game fine too. Yeah same here, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Uh yeah, ignore the post of time on this pole.
<v Speaker 1>It happens, Sean, that just happened. We're busy, all right,
<v Speaker 1>let's see here, no new poll question because we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>do the bomb twelve here in a second.
<v Speaker 3>So let's get the rest of this stuff out of
<v Speaker 3>the way.
<v Speaker 1>John Martin, why don't you tell people where you can
<v Speaker 1>find you on the internet, what you have going on,
<v Speaker 1>all that good stuff.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, you can follow me on Blue Sky, John Martin,
<v Speaker 4>I think, just John Martin. You can follow me on
<v Speaker 4>YouTube at JAMN zero sixty five. Also John Martin trying
<v Speaker 4>to hit five hundred suscribers by the end of the year.
<v Speaker 4>I've been streaming a lot more, I've been making more videos,
<v Speaker 4>and then we had a video from like five years
<v Speaker 4>ago just absolutely blow up. So that's been really fun
<v Speaker 4>to see. On top of just Giant Bomb people just
<v Speaker 4>being the sweetest people ever.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, so.
<v Speaker 4>Kind of just working on that love coming on the show,
<v Speaker 4>all that good stuff. I don't know, I'm just always
<v Speaker 4>I'm always lurking in the chat, so you can always
<v Speaker 4>find me on GiantBomb dot com.
<v Speaker 1>And thank you to everybody. Let's see we got more
<v Speaker 1>happy on Giant Bomb today. Let me get the counter
<v Speaker 1>so I can double check and make sure that we
<v Speaker 1>have the exact stuff here. Let's go with yes, we
<v Speaker 1>shout up a quick look popping off a little bit
<v Speaker 1>later for Outer Worlds two, and then at three pm
<v Speaker 1>Eastern time, we're gonna be doing upf or we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>play Powerwash Simulator two. We might mix in another thing
<v Speaker 1>or two, but definitely that game. So come hang out
<v Speaker 1>with us. It's gonna be a good time. In the meantime,
<v Speaker 1>let's see anything else I should talk about before we
<v Speaker 1>get to the bomb twelve. Yeah, let's talk about the
<v Speaker 1>bombathon one more time. Everybody, Bombathon on Monday, five pm Eastern. Uh, definitely,
<v Speaker 1>just come hang out with us. It's gonna be a
<v Speaker 1>good time. We're gonna do a lot of fun stuff
<v Speaker 1>there in those primetime hours. So if you've got to
<v Speaker 1>go to bed, if you got work the next day,
<v Speaker 1>first of all, quit your job. But then job, But
<v Speaker 1>you quit your job when you are falling to a depression,
<v Speaker 1>if you fall asleep because of that, then you can
<v Speaker 1>still just focus on those primetime hours and we understand.
<v Speaker 1>And then there's gonna be some nightmare stuff in that
<v Speaker 1>and in the middle of the night, it's gonna get weird.
<v Speaker 1>I think that's the best way to describe it. It's
<v Speaker 1>gonna get weird and you're probably not gonna winn to ma.
<v Speaker 1>That's so definitely quit your job. All right, let's see here,
<v Speaker 1>let's do the bomb twelve. Let's get to it, please,
<v Speaker 1>Sean and I think the audio should work on the scene. Now,
<v Speaker 1>let's see what happens. Good, We're good. All right, there
<v Speaker 1>it is. Here's the bomb twelve. Everybody. Let me go
<v Speaker 1>ahead and read off what we have starting with number twelve,
<v Speaker 1>and as always, these are the twelve games that really
<v Speaker 1>matter to people who are really playing games. Starting off
<v Speaker 1>with Keeper, They're in the number twelve spot. Number eleven
<v Speaker 1>is Hollow Night's Silk Song. Number ten is Clear Obscure
<v Speaker 1>Expedition thirty three, Number nine is Dispatch, number eight, Silent
<v Speaker 1>Hill f Number seven is Ninja Guide In four, number six,
<v Speaker 1>Absolute number five, Battlefield six, number four, Hades two, number three,
<v Speaker 1>Ghost of Yota, number two Pokemon Legends z A. And
<v Speaker 1>that means number one is as you all predicted, Ballpit.
<v Speaker 1>Ballpit is your number one game of the week for
<v Speaker 1>the Bomb twelve. Is impressive. I saw the people over
<v Speaker 1>at Tensley kind of being like, this is what's going
<v Speaker 1>to happen this week, and they were right, and I've checked,
<v Speaker 1>I checked. There was no funny business. This is just
<v Speaker 1>legit winning the Bomb twelve. So shouts out to the
<v Speaker 1>folks over there beating out Pokemon as just this with
<v Speaker 1>a prophecy foretold. All right, if you want to have
<v Speaker 1>your say in the future of the Bomb twelve, I
<v Speaker 1>try to put out a form link each week where
<v Speaker 1>you can go ahead and submit the game that you're
<v Speaker 1>playing and that will tell us hey, this game belongs
<v Speaker 1>on the Bomb twelve and we do that each Friday. Meantime, though,
<v Speaker 1>I think we should probably wrap up the show and say,
<v Speaker 1>John Martin, thank you so much for hanging out with
<v Speaker 1>me today and talking about video games.
<v Speaker 3>Man, I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 4>Chef always dream, always a pleasure. Very excited for next
<v Speaker 4>week or Monday and Tuesday. It's going to be a
<v Speaker 4>great time.
<v Speaker 3>Yep again, come I hang out with us everybody.
<v Speaker 1>It's going to be a really excellent just chill twenty
<v Speaker 1>four hours with that is going to be punctuated by
<v Speaker 1>some crazy and dumb stuff the Giant Bomb Way, don't miss.
<v Speaker 3>Out on all right, thanks everybody for tuning in. We'll
<v Speaker 3>catch you next time.
<v Speaker 1>Until then, have a good one, take care of yourself,
<v Speaker 1>have a good one, and thank you Sean for all
<v Speaker 1>your help this week.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Sean, let's go,
