Speaker 1: Chandler throws it to oh Way the right baseline.

00:00:02
Speaker 2: He spins into the paint.

00:00:03
Speaker 3: Goes up and stores him to tie a game.

00:00:08
Speaker 4: Santa Clara coming the other way. Dom Aluga right side comes into the circle, throws it back to Graves three seconds a three good with two point four to play into Oh Way, no timehouse for Kentucky.

00:00:20
Speaker 2: Long three for the win. Oh oh man, oh the time? Excuse me? My ties it up? See do you welcome everyone?

00:00:36
Speaker 3: It is the local Toyota Dealers chs or postgame show. We are taking over Cardinals Stadium. How about that big win? That's right Bush Stadium, I guess is what they call it here.

00:00:49
Speaker 2: These folks can't even hear.

00:00:50
Speaker 3: Me on a speaker, and everybody else doesn't even know what goes what's going on?

00:00:54
Speaker 2: But the Cats win one.

00:00:55
Speaker 3: We will always remember on a shot that will live in Kentucky lore for a long time. As they win in overtime eighty nine to eighty four. Matt Jones and Ryan Lemon, we are here right outside of your Cardinals stadium.

00:01:09
Speaker 2: I love that stadium. That's Busha Stadium.

00:01:12
Speaker 3: I have to tell you that this was You know, if you go to home games at Rupperina. You see where they do the entrance and they play a minute and a half of the greatest highlights in Kentucky sports history. This shot will be playing on that for the next seventy five years.

00:01:30
Speaker 2: You got to see in person. Those of you that win.

00:01:34
Speaker 3: One that will last forever is the Cats get a much needed win to move on to the second round where they'll almost certainly play Iowa State, and also to get a chance to keep advancing. And otega Oway thirty five points, eight rebounds, seven assists. Only four players in the history of the NCAA tournament have ever had an NCAA Tournament game like that with thirty five points, eight boards and seven assists. Let me give you the names, Screw Robertson, Bill Bradley, Larry Bird, and now otaga Oway is the fourth one.

00:02:07
Speaker 2: That's a pretty unbelievable list.

00:02:09
Speaker 1: Today otega Away submitted himself as a Kentucky basketball legend for the rest of his life.

00:02:15
Speaker 3: A lot of people don't realize he also broke the record today for most points ever by a two year player at Kentucky. He broke Bill Spovey's record today during the game. It's him first Bill Spivey second, Antonio Reeves third. Now for history for two year players, I have to tell you Ryan, and then before we get into more details, you also got to give it back a big shout out.

00:02:36
Speaker 2: It was Beg time. It was Beg time.

00:02:39
Speaker 1: It was BG time, Peupenny time, Yes, it was.

00:02:44
Speaker 3: How about Brandon Garrison has seven rebound six blocks, six blocks, including two huge ones in overtime.

00:02:52
Speaker 1: To block a three pointer on the primter like that late in the game is huge, and do it twice. He did it twice and then only that got the block written down the floor, got the feed for a dunk after you blought that shot that one time.

00:03:02
Speaker 3: We won't talk about, oh way on that point. No, he didn't want I didn't seem did you all seem? Wha took the exact amount of steps. But Brandon Garrison, I you gotta give him a ton of credit for playing. But this will be remembered as an way uh otega away defining legacy game and that shot we were talking about. You know, how do you rank it all time? It's hard to know. I guess we kind of need to see what they do in the tournament. If they get beat by thirty next game. Maybe we don't remember it as much, but it's for postseason shots, you know what you're talking, like Tony Delk in the ninety six championship game for the coroner Aaron Harrison shots. Over the years, a lot of our other ones have actually ended up being in losses, like the Patrick Sparks game.

00:03:48
Speaker 2: But this one ends up in a win. That's just amazing.

00:03:51
Speaker 1: It will be one of the greatest NCAA tournament shots in Kentucky basketball history.

00:03:55
Speaker 3: I think it's one of objectively, that's a shot we'll see for fifty years just at the NCAA tournament period. Yeah, I mean that sequence where he scores, they hit the three, we come back and tie, and there's no timeout, so it just goes back and forth.

00:04:11
Speaker 2: They'll play that.

00:04:13
Speaker 3: I mean, that's you know, it's not lightner, but they'll play that like that. That's gonna be. It's certainly gonna be like they play the dude from Carolina that hit the shot against.

00:04:22
Speaker 1: How many times we've seen that Bryce Drew last second shot and the Tis Edney last second shot. Those were a kind of jumpers and labs. This was nearly a half corny.

00:04:31
Speaker 2: I don't know about y'all. I heard him call it. I heard you know what's crazy?

00:04:37
Speaker 3: Mario and I were standing there before the game and we were bouncing those balls.

00:04:41
Speaker 2: Did you notice how much people are, you know, issues with the ball.

00:04:45
Speaker 3: And I remember thinking I wouldn't sho And I was watching Kentucky warm up and guys were shooting off the glass and none of them were going in, and I thought, I think these balls are just two inflated. You're not gonna be able to bank shots in.

00:04:56
Speaker 2: Well I was wrong. He banked in a thirty five footer with that enfloy ball.

00:05:00
Speaker 1: You know you mentioned go the shots Brandon and I hit it last second shot to win.

00:05:03
Speaker 2: Again.

00:05:03
Speaker 3: Those are good, those two Brandon night shots. Yes, against Princeton and Burnon.

00:05:07
Speaker 1: Hatton throw in Welling in from like three quarters court one time, I think an NCAA tournament game. But this the pressure of what could have been. That could have been the end of the era of Mark Stoops era if he misses that shots.

00:05:18
Speaker 3: Mark Stoops, Mark Pope, and it also wouldn't have been the end.

00:05:23
Speaker 2: Getting he's getting a little worked up.

00:05:24
Speaker 3: He's just excited. He's excited. He's getting a little worked up. That's Okay, let's let's just talk a little bit about what happened down the street. First of all, can I tell you the story where I watched it?

00:05:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, so I'll be waiting to hear this, all right.

00:05:38
Speaker 3: So I found a little alley way where I could watch and pace back and forth. So I did that the whole first half. I just was walk watching and just walking back and.

00:05:47
Speaker 2: Forth in the arena. In the arena. First half.

00:05:49
Speaker 3: We get to the end of the first half, they take the lead, yes, and I go, all right, I'm out.

00:05:53
Speaker 2: I can't be left at halftime. So I walked.

00:05:56
Speaker 3: I walked down here to a park like two blocks away, and I said there, and I watched it on my phone, and I guess, I mean, these these these girls right here, there's a child. There's like a child's volleyball girl's volleyball tournament going on. So there, those kids are everywhere, right and I'm sitting there and I'm holding my phone like a crazy person, screaming the entire time, just yelling and screaming. When Aberdeen hit that three to put us up seven, I start thinking, Okay, we got this, let's get in the mode.

00:06:24
Speaker 2: We're good.

00:06:25
Speaker 3: Then they come back and go up four, and I'm sitting there going, Okay, now, what do I say if the season has ended, how do we look at this blah blah blah? When Oway makes that shot? Thankfully, there might there might be security footage somewhere in that park.

00:06:42
Speaker 2: I just start running and going ah.

00:06:45
Speaker 3: And then I look and like, no one's there, and these people are staring at me.

00:06:49
Speaker 2: But I couldn't help it. I was way too excited.

00:06:52
Speaker 1: You're the crazy, wacky old man in a park pull of a female volleyball players and they're like.

00:06:57
Speaker 2: What are you doing here? That makes it sound much worse than it was. I think it was a right.

00:07:02
Speaker 3: So we get to overtime, and in overtime we're up four I think, with like forty eight seconds or something after the Garrison ones. So I walk into this like hotel bar to try to watch the end of it. And I don't know if you all have ever done this, but I'm so into it. I'm staring at my phone and I've got my head down staring at my phone, and I end up walking up and this was one of the most embarrassing things in my life. I walk up and I get like, right here next to a woman that's a stranger, and I don't see her because I'm looking at my phone.

00:07:32
Speaker 2: And then I look up.

00:07:33
Speaker 3: And I am three feet from her nose and she has a look on her face like what are you doing?

00:07:39
Speaker 2: What is wrong with you?

00:07:40
Speaker 3: And I I had to apologize. So I was a little out of control, but you know what, it was worth it.

00:07:46
Speaker 2: We got the victory. We is who he is.

00:07:48
Speaker 1: We Kentucky basketball fans. We celebrate like we want to celebrate. So if that's how it helped you, if you help Kentucky Wild catch win by doing that.

00:07:54
Speaker 2: To day yet, I think you can do it for it. How many of you guys were in the arena? All of you?

00:07:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much.

00:07:59
Speaker 2: I mean you were there.

00:08:02
Speaker 3: Talk to me about what it felt like in the arena during that period.

00:08:05
Speaker 1: First of all, I was kind of surprised how many Santa Clara fans were there. They had a more of a turnout that I thought they were going to.

00:08:10
Speaker 2: And now I was State fans. I'm sure cheered for them too.

00:08:12
Speaker 1: And the whole first half, you know, we were kind of living and dying by three and not hitting them, And I think I could just feel our fan base just kind of tense up. You can just feel it in there, and I think they stayed tense until always basket went in the end the game. I don't know a lot of people were scared to death of that game in there.

00:08:26
Speaker 3: Even though the game stayed closed the whole time. I actually think it was two completely different games. In the first half, I actually thought we played excellent defense, like some really good defense, but offensively we got away from a gameplay. We didn't go yeah, we stopped going to the basket. We were shooting threes, but not even shooting good threes. We were shooting like contested threes or off the bounce threes. Then in the second half, I thought our offense was much more efficient. We were driving the basket, kicking it out for threes. Those were better looks. Guys were finishing. Diabate was great. I need to mention him. He ended up with seventeen points the game. Garrison was great, Aberdeen made big shots, and then of course Oway gets thirty five.

00:09:05
Speaker 2: But our defense kind of disappeared.

00:09:07
Speaker 3: We started and we couldn't poor Moreno and Yellovich kept dropping offensive, kept dropping rebounds, giving them second chances. But the key thing is with four minutes to go, four minutes to go games essentially, Todd and the question is are you gonna be able to out tough them?

00:09:24
Speaker 2: And this team did it.

00:09:25
Speaker 1: You gotta give credit to both Diabatee and Garrison on the defensive end there, they got physical with their big guys. I think that really bothered him. And then always as good as he was offensively, he was getting it done on the defensive end too. He was trying to slow those guards down and got hot and did a good job.

00:09:38
Speaker 3: So Chandler finally made one that was a big one. You know, he'd missed all those open shots and then he hit one. He got a steal at a big point in the game there, as.

00:09:47
Speaker 1: Well as that stretch where AOC hit back.

00:09:51
Speaker 3: And Chandler, I saw you, I saw you, tweet AOC. You got some nice replies to that. I'm really happy, obviously for the fans. I'm happy, you know, I'm a fan. I'm happy for myself. I'm really happy for the team. You know, this team has for a lot of the year felt like it underachieved.

00:10:11
Speaker 2: It's been frustrating at times.

00:10:13
Speaker 3: I did I really didn't want to see him go out losing like to this team. Nothing against Santa Clair, who I actually thought played really well spent in the second half, although I did have a bad interaction with the Santa Clair fan right out there. I was just standing there talking on the phone to Billy, and she walked by and goes, you, people from Kentucky are so smug. And I wanted to be like, look, come on, you're in Santa Cla. You're in San Francisco, Lady, like, come on, that's a different level of smug. But they were pretty upset. I mean, and I would be too. You haven't made tournament thirty years. If you're a Santa Clair fan, that one will stick with you forever.

00:10:50
Speaker 1: Yeah, cause I'm sure they thought they won the game. Of course, kid hit the three point with two seconds left. Game over, we win. We've just knocked off big mighty Kentucky.

00:10:59
Speaker 3: So now Iwa State is gonna beat Tennessee State. This isn't a game. But you all may not have seen this because you might not have been watching. Their best player got hurt at the beginning and is on crutches, Joshua Jefferson, So he's an All American and if he doesn't play, that's a different game. Now they're still winning by thirty tonight. But if he I hate to see any kid get hurt, especially in the tournament.

00:11:20
Speaker 2: I think he's a senior too.

00:11:23
Speaker 3: But if he doesn't play, that game looks completely different than what it than what it looked like. He's a Ford, he's a forward. That kind of is the kind of dude we struggle to match up with. So just something something to watch.

00:11:35
Speaker 1: Hey, you hate for anybody to get hurt, but if it opens up a better path for us, you know. And Virginia was getting beat by Hodge Virginia in Virginia one.

00:11:43
Speaker 3: Alabama's losing right now or no, they now took the lead to Hofstra. But but so Virginia has has won. Tennessee's about to play Miami of Ohio here in a few minutes, but we will.

00:11:52
Speaker 2: Be playing Iowa State. People have asked what time.

00:11:55
Speaker 3: They will not announce that until after the In the late games tonight you and I were talking about. I mean, I think the thing to watch is if Saint John's and Kansas both win tonight, so that they play each other, then I think that'll be the five thirty that'll be their big game. It's primetime game, and I would guess if that happens, they'll put us at that game. Before it that like two to it's like two fifteen or two thirty. If one of those teams loses, then I think they might put us in that five to thirty game because CBS CBS's last games at five thirty. Then the other games are on tbstn T. I would be surprised if they put Kentucky on the other networks. So my guess, if I'm guessing, if both Kansas and Saint John's win, I would guess will go too fifteen two thirty. If Kansas or Saint John's loses, then I think we would play five thirty.

00:12:52
Speaker 2: That's the complete gas. But that's where where.

00:12:54
Speaker 1: I if I would say it hangs on a win. That ticket on Sunday is gonna be a hard win to game.

00:12:58
Speaker 3: Are you guys gonna go on Sunday? I do think that's going to be to be a hard ticket. I think it's and if Purdue. If Purdue wins tonight and you have Purdue, Kentucky, and Iowa stayed in the same session, I do think that will actually be a very difficult ticket to get.

00:13:13
Speaker 5: If you did it.

00:13:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, Kentucky fan earlier told me he was trying to get one real quick, and I think the cheapest Nak found was like two hundred and fifty already.

00:13:18
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be expensive.

00:13:19
Speaker 3: This guy has the thing that says he bets his friend he couldn't get on the show.

00:13:22
Speaker 2: Five dollars? What's your name? Yeah? You all right?

00:13:25
Speaker 3: I can't believe Ryan already hated him the headset. I wasn't gonna do that, but I'll tell you what. It's five dollars and you came and we won. What's your name?

00:13:32
Speaker 2: Caden Cayden? Where are you from?

00:13:34
Speaker 1: Henderson?

00:13:35
Speaker 2: Henderson, Kentucky in the house? What do you think of that win? Dude?

00:13:38
Speaker 1: That was electric.

00:13:39
Speaker 2: I've actually never been to a UK game. That was my first time. That was your first game. Well they're not always like that, all right, Kate.

00:13:47
Speaker 3: And the only way I'm gonna let you be on this show is you lead this crowd and one more c ats chant why we go to break take that off first and let him go?

00:13:55
Speaker 2: Ready, no you started?

00:13:59
Speaker 3: Oh there you go. We're gonna take your calls.

00:14:09
Speaker 2: Guys.

00:14:10
Speaker 3: You all will have a hard time hearing me now, But I thank you guys very much for coming. It is an awesome win. Enjoy yourselves. The Missouri pep rallies coming here in a minute. Boo, we'll see, We'll be right back.

00:14:23
Speaker 2: This is the Local Toylet Dealers KSR postgame Show. Welcome back. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show.

00:14:33
Speaker 3: Uh seven seven two or seven seven four five two five four is the text machine a f I'm nine two eight oh twenty.

00:14:38
Speaker 2: Two eighty seven.

00:14:39
Speaker 3: I have seen some people sort of downplaying the game on on on Twitter or on Facebook, and Sarah, I'm not listening to any of that.

00:14:48
Speaker 2: You go, you know, yes it's Santa Clair. I get all that.

00:14:51
Speaker 3: But if you can't enjoy this game, if you can't enjoy a half court or just inside half court shot to send it to overtime and an overtime win in that environment like that is why we do sports like That's why you're a fan is for moments like that.

00:15:07
Speaker 2: So for me, I'm hearing no slander. This is nothing but joy.

00:15:11
Speaker 1: Today we were long overdue to celebrate a big win. I like to be North Carolina their homewise.

00:15:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean Wisconsin is at home. I mean, there's but I don't evenk it almost doesn't even matter.

00:15:21
Speaker 2: Me about that.

00:15:21
Speaker 3: You you play sports to have moments like that, moments of elation, you know, I tweeted out there's a whole commonwealth of students in high schools, grade schools, middle schools who their teacher put that on in their classroom today, right, And some of them have sent me videos. Some of them even said, Matt, I'm not gonna write it on social media because I want to get in trouble for my principal. But like, think about what it was like for them to be sitting in there. They'll remember that for.

00:15:51
Speaker 2: The rest of their life. They really will.

00:15:53
Speaker 3: They'll remember sitting there and watching that for the rest of their life.

00:15:57
Speaker 2: In that moment, how can you not love it?

00:15:59
Speaker 3: The video at ks Bar, it's and if you haven't seen yet, insane at ks Bar today when he hit it, Drew ends up on the uh up standing on the bar doing a Ryan Lemmon.

00:16:09
Speaker 2: Up there, it's just awesome, Like, how can you not love that moment?

00:16:14
Speaker 1: And they will always remember otega Oway now like we remember some of these last second shots over the years, we will, you know, like you said, you mentioned Tony Delks three in the corner against Circus. We can all can see it. These kids have watched those games in their classroom today, will always remember Otega, even one from how.

00:16:28
Speaker 3: You agree with me that ends up on that montage the place forever.

00:16:31
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, absolutely it will.

00:16:33
Speaker 2: It has to. It's one of them.

00:16:34
Speaker 1: Like I said, it's one of the most historic shots. The fact that tied a game in the NCAA tournament descended in over time is one of the biggest shots in UK history.

00:16:42
Speaker 3: And if they were to make some kind of run, right, if they were to beat Iowa State, or to beat Virginia and Tennessee in the sweet if they were to make some kind of run, that's the moment. Yeah right, Like that's the moment and sports in life. But sports is a game of inches. You miss, that is a completely different conversation we're having. You make that shot, and it's like, you know, you've been washed in the blood and the lamb, and we don't even have to think about anything, and I can get ready for our next game.

00:17:13
Speaker 1: A great, wise old philosopher said, sports is awesome.

00:17:17
Speaker 2: Sports is awesome. Yeah, I remember somebody said awesome.

00:17:20
Speaker 3: Yes, all right, So we will be in Saint Louis now for the next couple of days.

00:17:23
Speaker 2: Happy, let's get started. Now.

00:17:25
Speaker 3: Let me just say, Billy has the flu and is literally like as sick as I've ever seen Billy. But because no one else knows how to run the UK games, he came in today. Billy, you're a trooper. Thank you very much. You're doing okay?

00:17:40
Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm here, guys. Thank you though, for saying that you.

00:17:43
Speaker 2: Can hear it in his voice.

00:17:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, but thank you for coming in, Billy, that you seriously even know how sick you are.

00:17:48
Speaker 2: I appreciate it, all right. Who's up first? Dustin? Dustin, go ahead, Dustin, Matt and Ryan, how are you all doing amazing?

00:17:59
Speaker 7: Do you think this is a legacy game for Brandon Garrison today?

00:18:04
Speaker 2: I think two people's two players.

00:18:08
Speaker 3: I do think this is a kind of legacy game for two players because Oway, I think was always gonna be remembered as a really good player, but he kind of I think a fan's mind will move one notch up. I mean he's and not maybe not into the all time greats, but into the all time wow we I think what happens with Oway is what happened with the Harrison Twins, right, I mean what in some ways the Harrison Twins are thought of as much is a little bit higher than they would have been because of those postseason shows. I think, oh wait, and then I think Brandon Garrison, who has been a very controversial player, including to yours. Truly, even if he never plays here again, even if he never plays here again, I'm gonna have fondness for the guy because of today. Right, I'm gonna have fondness for him because of today. Because that, Really, I don't think you can help but feel something positive for him because of that.

00:19:01
Speaker 2: I do think it will change the way fans look at him.

00:19:05
Speaker 1: It absolutely will, because he had a big game in the SEC tournament. He's BG big game Brandon, That's what it's gonna be.

00:19:10
Speaker 3: And he also did such a Brandon Garrison thing, gets the blocks, gets us the win, and then fouls with two seconds to go. Like that was Brandon Garrison in a nutshell. He fouls out with two seconds to go when he completely didn't need like if you, if you, it was the quintessential Brandon Garrison game.

00:19:26
Speaker 1: You lose your head at the moment.

00:19:29
Speaker 2: Really, it's exactly as Brandon Garrison to a t.

00:19:33
Speaker 8: I if last question for Ryan, Ryan, have you hate a donut yet since your Donuts plus summer?

00:19:40
Speaker 2: Appreciate the call? He asked, if you've eaten a donut since the donut challenge?

00:19:43
Speaker 1: I've had a donut with icing on it, but not a regular donut. I can't eat a regular donor.

00:19:47
Speaker 2: You can't look at him anymore.

00:19:48
Speaker 1: I can't do it. I'm just not ready yet. If he's got icing on it, and for whatever, that's okay.

00:19:52
Speaker 3: Mario was walking around doing interviews here of the player's Right State nearly pulled it off on Virginia.

00:19:59
Speaker 2: That would have had on Tom creen.

00:20:00
Speaker 3: Tom Crean said Virginia would roll him, and I was like, I think Right State's gonna win, even though I didn't believe it.

00:20:05
Speaker 2: Tom Bright again, Who's next?

00:20:07
Speaker 1: Drew at chs Bar?

00:20:10
Speaker 2: Oh, John, It's true, Franklin at ks Bar, Drew, how are you? Oh?

00:20:15
Speaker 7: I couldn't be better?

00:20:16
Speaker 2: Guys.

00:20:16
Speaker 5: What a what a game?

00:20:18
Speaker 2: What a finish?

00:20:19
Speaker 9: What a Brandon Garrison.

00:20:20
Speaker 3: Toime, Yes, So tell me what that environment was like in there. I saw the video, but it looked awesome.

00:20:27
Speaker 5: Well, it was amazing.

00:20:28
Speaker 10: We had beg chants throughout the game. I had to call in to make two points.

00:20:32
Speaker 2: One, I agree with you.

00:20:33
Speaker 10: Because anyone that has any negativity right now just needs to shut up. That was amazing and we will be.

00:20:38
Speaker 5: Talking about O ways shot decades from now. And two, as you just asked, chs Bar was awesome.

00:20:43
Speaker 10: When I got here, there was.

00:20:44
Speaker 2: A line out the door.

00:20:46
Speaker 10: Yeah, we got a little nervous, a little uncomfort full of times when that shot went in. That was an all time moment with the fan base. And I know you guys are in Saint Louis, but I wish you guys could have been here to see the ks Bar crowd too.

00:20:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, I do too, and I appreciate everybody that was in the group because I was by myself in a park Drew.

00:21:01
Speaker 2: But nevertheless I got to enjoy it as well. I heard that.

00:21:05
Speaker 10: Yeah, I just wanted to come in and check in some Chaos Bar. We're loving as much as you all, and enjoyed the postgame show. H Ryan, get it together.

00:21:11
Speaker 5: But what a game.

00:21:12
Speaker 10: Now, let's go on and win the next round.

00:21:14
Speaker 3: I appreciate that record here is amazing, and he'll be there Sunday as well. So you got uh all weekend long will that listen as somebody who owns a bar. The difference in the bed of people that will be at the bar tonight and tomorrow versus what it would have been if we lost is quite substantial.

00:21:34
Speaker 2: So that will be good. Who's up next?

00:21:37
Speaker 3: Then?

00:21:38
Speaker 1: Ben?

00:21:38
Speaker 2: Go ahead? Ben?

00:21:40
Speaker 5: Hey you guys.

00:21:42
Speaker 11: So I was ready to give up when they hit that shot in to go up with the two months, two seconds left, and then all of a sudden, I feel if they go away, pull up, you know, pull up a Harrison shot and just thinking in like that, I was where I was there when they made it shot in Michigan back in twenty fourteen, and I can always say that that's the first time I felt something in a long time with Kentucky basketball. You know, I just really appreciate him take it away, and I hope he understands and feel belove from Kentucky. He's going down h for in history for sure. And my hope Aberdeen feels the same way. And DJ and all those guys. I hope they all right.

00:22:14
Speaker 2: That's exactly right. Oh, I appreciate the call. You're exactly right.

00:22:20
Speaker 3: I mean, O way, you know, there'll be somebody else in twenty years doing this show. Who will sit there at some moment in the future at Kentucky Basketball and they'll go, you know, it was like Jack giving shot in seventy eight and Tony Dell and then you know Andrew Brandon Night, and now take Away's name will be in that like that's a that is a cool thing that you know, you get to have for your whole life.

00:22:43
Speaker 1: That's what I said. He cubmitted himself at Kentucky Basketball lore forever with that that he just because it was like almost a half court john and he banked it in to send it in over time.

00:22:53
Speaker 2: Let's talk about on that play real quick if you want. So.

00:22:55
Speaker 3: It's getting some attention online if you watch the replay, Herbs tries to call time out and they don't give it to it. Now a lot of people are whining about it. I'm gonna give a preemptive response. He clearly did try to call time out, but he didn't do it immediately. I think he did do it before they inbounded it, but not immediately.

00:23:17
Speaker 2: And just a little note, I had a coach tell me.

00:23:22
Speaker 3: Coaches are told if you want to call time out, there look towards the baseline official. The mid court official is watching the ball, so he may not see you, so you have to so coaches know, look towards the baseline official. Herb Sindek is chasing the referee running down the court. He did try. I understand why he's frustrated. He started his press conference by going, I tried to call it.

00:23:47
Speaker 2: It's on video. I watched the video. He did try to.

00:23:50
Speaker 3: Call it, but A he looked at the wrong official, and B he waited like a second or two before he did it. And so I think if either of those things he had done differently, they he would have given it to him.

00:24:01
Speaker 2: But they ended up not doing it.

00:24:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of times, like after the shot, the official even glanced over real.

00:24:06
Speaker 2: Quick and and and he did.

00:24:07
Speaker 3: If you go watch the video, the official looks real quick at Herb, sees nothing, starts running down the court, and then he starts chasing after him.

00:24:15
Speaker 1: Huh.

00:24:15
Speaker 3: But there was an official on the baseline he could have He could have done it, and then he didn't do it.

00:24:19
Speaker 1: That hesitation really costs.

00:24:20
Speaker 3: So that hesitation costing. Now, you know, I get while he's frustrated, but like, some of that's on you. If you had done it immediately, you would have would have gotten it.

00:24:28
Speaker 2: But he did.

00:24:28
Speaker 1: Oh take it? What he hit the shot?

00:24:29
Speaker 5: Anyway?

00:24:30
Speaker 2: I agree. By the way, also, I would say to her, why didn't you foul?

00:24:35
Speaker 1: Right? Right?

00:24:36
Speaker 3: Should found moment that ball gets inbounded, you should fail. And I also know one thing. You remember the guy who talked trash before the game, saying Jack Gulky was his favorite March Madness player.

00:24:46
Speaker 2: I want you to go watch the replay.

00:24:48
Speaker 3: When Graves makes his three, that guy runs down the court and starts celebrating. When Oway gets the ball, he comes in to close out and he's about.

00:24:56
Speaker 2: A half a second late.

00:24:58
Speaker 3: And if he hadn't been celebrating like Jack Golky, he probably would have cut him off and stopped him. But he's about a half second late getting back because his celebrating ass decided to do that instead of play defense. So I'm just saying a lot of people made mistakes there that they could have could have done something.

00:25:17
Speaker 1: Ghost of Jack Golky little karma right there? Sounds like that's right.

00:25:21
Speaker 2: Who's next?

00:25:21
Speaker 6: Autumn?

00:25:23
Speaker 2: Autumn? Go ahead, Autumn.

00:25:26
Speaker 12: Hey, Matt, I'm gonna try to say this without crying, But man, when Otagan hit that shot, I just lost it. Pears We're streaming down my face and I just felt the frustration of this season, like leave my body. Exactly a year ago today, my mom was diagnosed with liver cancer and she has thought and as she is still here by the grace of God, and I just feel like when that shot within that was for her. And I'm so excited for this team, and I love this team so much, and I love Mark Pope, and I just pray that we as a fan base realized how blessed we truly are to be a part of the best fan base, the best team in all of sports, and that's Kentucky basketball.

00:26:09
Speaker 2: That's really nice. Can I want to go back for a second. What's what was she? What's your grandmother's name?

00:26:15
Speaker 12: It's my mother. My mother's name is Debbie.

00:26:18
Speaker 2: Debbie.

00:26:18
Speaker 3: So Debbie got to she got she watched it today. Yes, okay, that's awesome. Well, first of all, we're praying for Debbie. I think it is. I'm gonna say, Otaga made that shot for Debbie, aren't you.

00:26:31
Speaker 1: I think he did.

00:26:31
Speaker 2: That's exactly right.

00:26:32
Speaker 3: And thank you for listening and calling in and God bless you.

00:26:38
Speaker 8: Thank you all go Cat, go Cat.

00:26:40
Speaker 1: I think then Michael Fhonn even picked him up when he let it go, he said bank for Debbie. Did he say bank for Debbie? Called bank and said that was for Debbie.

00:26:47
Speaker 2: I didn't hear him say it, but I believe it.

00:26:49
Speaker 1: Yeah, michrophone picked it up.

00:26:51
Speaker 3: Mario, I want you to come here real quick for a second because I want I want Mario went in the Mario went in the locker room after the game while we came here. So, Mario, you you were in the locker room after the game, right, Yes, I was. Tell me what those guys were like, a.

00:27:06
Speaker 13: Lot of smiles, everybody laughing, joking around. We had jaylen Lowe interviewing all of his other teammates. A lot of media was waiting for take away to return to the locker room. But there's a lot of good vibes in the locker room.

00:27:18
Speaker 2: Yes, what did you do when they when he made the three?

00:27:20
Speaker 13: I was recording, so I tried to like record the last minute shot, but I panned to the Saint Clara's student section, so I.

00:27:27
Speaker 2: Kind of missed the We'll take.

00:27:29
Speaker 3: A Why were you showing the Santa Clara student section? Who wants to see that.

00:27:32
Speaker 2: I thought it was over. You were What do you think about Beg time?

00:27:36
Speaker 13: Oh Beg's beach. Is the man touch money, baby? So that's touch money. That's all what it's about.

00:27:42
Speaker 3: Man touch money. All right, thank you, Mario, appreciate it. Who's up next?

00:27:46
Speaker 6: Jackson?

00:27:47
Speaker 2: Jackson? Go ahead, Jackson.

00:27:51
Speaker 6: Man, Matt.

00:27:52
Speaker 5: I know you're a lawyer.

00:27:54
Speaker 14: Can I is this ground to sue for emotional distress?

00:27:57
Speaker 3: I know because you had no damage. We won, so you cannot sue. I'm sorry you got just enjoy it.

00:28:05
Speaker 14: I feel like I went through every emotion depression in that two seconds, and then when that shot went in, I I I'm I'm out. I'm a male man working and I think these people will probably think I'm insane and I don't care.

00:28:20
Speaker 2: No, they were watching it in a while, they were watching it too.

00:28:25
Speaker 14: But again, like y'all said, just a great shot. I'm like, you know, under Pope and under even the last few cal years, it feels like we've had good tournament wins and have good wins in general, but we haven't had like a moment to remember we've had wins, we haven't had the moment. This feels like that moment.

00:28:46
Speaker 2: This is that. No, you're right, there hasn't been. I appreciate the call.

00:28:49
Speaker 3: The last moment for Kentucky basketball in the postseason, It's really been a moment was when Tyler Hero hit that shot against Houston in the Sweet sixteen and took us to the That's kind of the last postseason moment that Kentucky's had, and now you have it here with this one.

00:29:08
Speaker 1: But this one, like we've talked about, it just so much more dramatic. We were about to bow out of the first round of the NCAA Tournament to Santa Clara and he banks one in from half court.

00:29:17
Speaker 3: I will say to the people in Kentucky, We're gonna need you from a crowd perspective Sunday.

00:29:23
Speaker 2: There's a lot of Iowa State fans here.

00:29:25
Speaker 3: We had more fans in Santa Clara, but we probably didn't have more fans than Iowa State in the arena.

00:29:31
Speaker 2: No, so we and Purdue, if.

00:29:34
Speaker 3: They win, we're gonna need an invasion of the Blue because there will be a ton of cyclones here on Sunday and Kentucky is gonna need to h to match the crowd.

00:29:44
Speaker 1: God just they tried to buy a ticket for Sunday. Now it's up to three hundred.

00:29:47
Speaker 2: Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. A tummy.

00:29:50
Speaker 3: You get three good teams all close. Who would Purdue play if they a Miami.

00:29:54
Speaker 1: Or Miami or Missouri.

00:29:56
Speaker 2: They could have to play Missouri.

00:29:58
Speaker 1: If Missouri ends up in that final four with the Oh.

00:30:00
Speaker 2: My god, I didn't even think about that.

00:30:02
Speaker 3: If it's Missouri Perdue Iowa State in Kentucky, now that's a hard ticket.

00:30:08
Speaker 2: I didn't even think about Missouri. Wow. Well, we need Miami to win because they won't have it.

00:30:13
Speaker 1: It be kind of a home game for Missouri.

00:30:15
Speaker 2: Wow.

00:30:16
Speaker 3: But maybe Missouri fans would buy up all the tickets and then we wouldn't give them to.

00:30:20
Speaker 2: Diawa State fans.

00:30:21
Speaker 1: That's fair.

00:30:21
Speaker 2: Yeah, but there was there was a good Kentucky crowded way.

00:30:25
Speaker 3: It wasn't quite what it normally is, I think, but it was a It was a good crowd.

00:30:29
Speaker 1: You know, we had ours our one section was all blue and then we were kind of spread out.

00:30:32
Speaker 3: They were spread out it. Yeah, yeah, all right, we're gonna take a break. A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. We'll take a break right back. This is the Local Toy Dealers KSR post game show.

00:30:44
Speaker 2: Welcome back.

00:30:45
Speaker 3: It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame show. Shout out to these UK fans. This is the greatest group of fans. They're standing out in the sun and it's hot here. I don't know what it's like in Kentucky, but this is how hot sun. They can't even hear the calls. They can barely hear me. And they're still out here. And that's why you're wearing a hoodie. Man, you gotta be really uh no, he's not even worried about it. Look, it's no big thing.

00:31:07
Speaker 1: But you need he was chat out where. It's sports and social here at Ballpark Village and their manager, Drew is a big Kentucky Wildcat fanash in Northern Kentucky or everywhere.

00:31:16
Speaker 2: We are absolutely everywhere.

00:31:18
Speaker 3: Also, we get tomorrow nothing to do but watch games.

00:31:22
Speaker 1: Well, it could be one of my favorite days of the year. Laying around on the couch all day.

00:31:26
Speaker 2: You're gonna have to be stressed.

00:31:27
Speaker 1: Ordered door Dash Matt pays for watch ball games all day.

00:31:32
Speaker 2: I mean we can go out of the house.

00:31:34
Speaker 1: No, I don't prefer not.

00:31:35
Speaker 3: Okay, well, there's there are places to go that She's been giving me recommendations all weekend and they've been good stuff.

00:31:43
Speaker 2: So af I've nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven.

00:31:46
Speaker 15: Do you.

00:31:48
Speaker 3: How do you feel about Iowa State? I mean especially all right, so they're gonna lose. He led the team in rebounding. Joshua Jefferson's second scoring. I think he's like third team All American. He is on he is in a boot and on crutches, So I'm just gonna assume it's unlikely he plays. They'll be the favorite. They can still beat us without him. They're still very good, but I do think we have a chance.

00:32:11
Speaker 1: I saw Iowa State just kick the snot out of Kansas, and ever since I saw that, it has scared me to death. And then they played Arizona like to the last second in the tournament, the Big Twelve Tournament.

00:32:21
Speaker 2: They're good.

00:32:21
Speaker 1: I mean they're very very good, but they don't scare me key like I said, Kentucky may I'll have.

00:32:26
Speaker 3: They play a style that we've done better against this year generally speaking, and I think the the Joshua Jefferson was the position where they had the biggest advantage on us.

00:32:38
Speaker 2: So I do think, you know, I mean, I.

00:32:42
Speaker 3: Will probably even pick them, although on the pregame show, I'll probably pick Kentucky because that's just what I do. But but I do think I think Kentucky has a legitimate job. And then I like, I mean, if we get in the next round, I actually think the next round would be would be easier than this round.

00:32:58
Speaker 2: Yeah, depending on how it works out.

00:33:00
Speaker 1: You know, I didn't get to watch any of this game, but they obviously had no trouble in Tennessee State.

00:33:04
Speaker 2: I thought that would be closer than it wasn't.

00:33:06
Speaker 3: No, Yeah, so Miami, Ohio and Tennessee are tipping off right now as well. Who's next, Anthony, Anthony, go ahead, Anthony hey.

00:33:16
Speaker 10: Man just wanted to ask you, what time is it?

00:33:21
Speaker 1: BG time?

00:33:23
Speaker 16: It's BG time?

00:33:25
Speaker 10: Josh Jefferson, justin Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson. It don't matter, catch by nineties.

00:33:30
Speaker 3: Yes, I appreciate Jefferson starship. Whatever you want, We'll still do it.

00:33:36
Speaker 1: I think this is the Kentucky team. I didn't know we'd ever had a run at a Final four, but capable of pulling off some upsets.

00:33:43
Speaker 2: There's two things I also think are worth noting.

00:33:45
Speaker 3: First of all, whatever else you want to say about this team, at no point this year if they ever given up in any game, well that's not trueact they.

00:33:52
Speaker 2: Gave it up in a couple of games, but in.

00:33:54
Speaker 3: General they have fought through the vast majority of games, and they have in other situation where teams have given up, they you know, they've shown resilience.

00:34:05
Speaker 2: Secondly, when Mark Pope built.

00:34:06
Speaker 3: This team, We've had a lot of criticisms with how he built it, and I think a lot of them are valid. But in his mind he was building it around veteran, tough leadership. Well that certainly showed through today with Oway, Garrison, Diabate and Aberdeen being the four guys that took him. He was almost kind of validated for today for how he built the team because those guys are the ones that came out and played.

00:34:30
Speaker 1: I haven't seen a box score, so I know about minutes played, but they played West Aberdeen, Chandler. All three of those guys played at least probably forty minutes or more.

00:34:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, let me look, I'll pull it up, but you're right.

00:34:40
Speaker 1: They and then the three big guys kind of rotated between Maul and Garrison, and uh, well.

00:34:45
Speaker 3: There was forty five potential minutes and let's see Oway played forty three, Chandler forty two, Aberdeen thirty eight, Diabate thirty two.

00:34:57
Speaker 1: Yeah, jasper true.

00:35:00
Speaker 2: But Kim Williams hid a big three.

00:35:02
Speaker 1: We won't even talk about that.

00:35:03
Speaker 2: Williams.

00:35:04
Speaker 3: Cam Williams hitting an important three when he hit.

00:35:07
Speaker 2: It, so that was that was a big one.

00:35:08
Speaker 1: He didn't get a lot of minutes, but just when he comes in he can just do that. Yeah, how important is that gonna be? I said this on social media.

00:35:15
Speaker 3: Oway was the first person on the court when I saw him get there this morning, and he was the last person to leave the court.

00:35:21
Speaker 2: Uh, playing it, you know, getting ready for the game.

00:35:23
Speaker 1: You understand this is it, man, this is his last run. He's a senior.

00:35:25
Speaker 3: Everybody's gonna focus on the half court shot. That take to the basket to tie the game right before. It might have been just as hard a shot. I mean, it was contested. He had to do his O way thing kind of physically get in bank it in.

00:35:37
Speaker 2: That was a great shot too.

00:35:38
Speaker 1: When he hit that shot, I thought, that's what we'd be talking about here in the post game show. Was that crucial drive and shot.

00:35:44
Speaker 3: That's kind of a quintessential Way shot right there, dude, Like, that's what he does as good as as anybody we've had.

00:35:49
Speaker 2: Who's next, Matt.

00:35:50
Speaker 6: While we're talking about him, Let's give our Johnny Rocker personal injury attorney money maker of the game. Injured, get small town compassion with big city results when you call the Rocker at two seven oh three two one four four two nine and oh way. Stat line of thirty five, eight and seven hasn't been done in the NCAA Tournament since Larry Bird in nineteen seventy nine. He is our Johnny Rocker personal injury Attorney moneymaker.

00:36:12
Speaker 2: Of the game. That is a really amazing stat.

00:36:16
Speaker 3: Larry Bird, Bill Bradley, Oscar Robertson thirty five eight and seven and otago.

00:36:23
Speaker 1: And otaga, oh way.

00:36:25
Speaker 2: I mean, that's crazy, isn't it. I Mean, he was.

00:36:27
Speaker 1: Close to getting the triple double in the NCAA Tournament going to Dwayne Wade territory. But that's a little amazing numbers.

00:36:33
Speaker 3: I mean, Brandon's numbers were kind of wait, kind of wild too. I mean, Brandon Garrison was not triple double, but he was like triple something.

00:36:42
Speaker 1: Yeah. Well you mentioned Debote had like seventeen points to like eight rebounds, almost about.

00:36:46
Speaker 3: Brandon Garrison had ten points, seven boards, six blocks.

00:36:53
Speaker 2: It's pretty nice.

00:36:54
Speaker 1: Blocked a three point shot and then came back and blocked another three point.

00:36:59
Speaker 3: Seven and six is quite a game. Who's next, Deacon, Deacon?

00:37:03
Speaker 2: Go ahead, deacon.

00:37:05
Speaker 7: Hey, how's it going, Matt.

00:37:07
Speaker 10: We're down here at a PCV where UK's doing some spring break and the condo is just erupted.

00:37:12
Speaker 5: I mean, we went absolutely ballistic.

00:37:15
Speaker 7: They said they heard I bet that would be fun, absolutely unreal.

00:37:19
Speaker 3: I mean, actually, you know, there are a lot of places this game would have been fun. I do bet a condo for a UK fans on spring break that would have been a fun place to watch it too.

00:37:28
Speaker 5: Oh, it was unbelievable. Modiabotte is not a puppy. He's a big dog for show.

00:37:33
Speaker 2: Yeah, I appreciate the call. I mean, mo, we talked about it.

00:37:36
Speaker 3: Seventeen points, big shots, especially in regulation there at the end.

00:37:40
Speaker 1: And he hits some big free throws.

00:37:42
Speaker 2: He did hit a three, hit a three again.

00:37:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, they step of the free thrown out thinking, Oh no, you.

00:37:47
Speaker 2: Know, it's interesting.

00:37:48
Speaker 3: If Colin Chandler just hits half of his open threes, did we win this game easily?

00:37:52
Speaker 1: Yeah?

00:37:52
Speaker 2: You know, he just was off in the first half.

00:37:54
Speaker 1: I think he missed his first five three point at ten.

00:37:56
Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he was saying he was what one for eight or something? But uh, but but you know we won. So who's next? Matt, Matt, Go ahead, Matt, Matt, all right?

00:38:13
Speaker 6: All I hung up on him.

00:38:14
Speaker 3: I'm sorry, all right, go ahead, Mike is next, Mike, Go ahead, Mike.

00:38:20
Speaker 5: What's up?

00:38:21
Speaker 15: Guys?

00:38:21
Speaker 5: I just want to say, you know, I thought, you know, he gave Johnny Rockerd over all the way, and I get it, but I think I would have given it to Garrison at all the way. We win this game with that Garrison, man, you know, I've I'd give him hell all year. That's the guys. I'm spree. I ain't gonna lie, but you know, and I was frustrated with all the way from the shots he took in the mid game. But you know, we don't get too many moments like it. This will be one we all remember forever, and we just we just got to build off this and I'm telling you right now, I think Soakes comes to Kentucky. I think things change next year.

00:38:53
Speaker 3: I appreciate it. I hope, thank you, guys. I hope, I hope you're right about that. We'll see. But I mean, Garrison, no one has taken no one has taken more.

00:39:06
Speaker 2: Frustration than Brandon Garrison, certainly for me.

00:39:09
Speaker 3: I think I've said on here he might be my most frustrating player in a long time. But I also have I can't dislike him really because there's just something almost childlike about him, you know, and so it was great to see him have this game.

00:39:25
Speaker 1: I tell you what I admire about Brandon Garrison's that he was a starter, got bench because for lack of effort a couple of times, but then he ended up. He picked it up after that, like he didn't sit around, hi Pount. It's like he became a better player coming off the bench once he figure out what his role was gonna be.

00:39:40
Speaker 3: I can't remember his exact wording, but Pope was talking about Away on the post game show and he said something like, you know, we go at it sometimes. I think their relationship is kind of interesting. I think that Pope loves the guy. I also think they kind of maybe fight a little and bicker, but you know, they got to share that moment.

00:39:56
Speaker 2: There's a great video of Pope's reaction to those shots.

00:39:58
Speaker 3: It's awesome that yet, Yeah, it's on. I just tweeted it out. It's a very cool.

00:40:03
Speaker 1: Videon cal Perry almost he welcomed that back and forth.

00:40:06
Speaker 3: Yea like Cal used to love doing They loved doing that, and he kind of I think Cal kind of respected guys who would do it. Yes, if you were good, it's now, if you were good. He didn't like that, but if you were good, he would Who's next?

00:40:17
Speaker 2: Mad?

00:40:17
Speaker 5: Is that?

00:40:18
Speaker 2: Matt? Go ahead, Matt? Hey?

00:40:21
Speaker 16: So where do we rank? O?

00:40:21
Speaker 5: Ways?

00:40:22
Speaker 9: Shot with Aaron Harrison? Three big shots in twenty fourteen, and then just of the comments that I've noticed because our helpside defense looks a little slow and we switched too many ball rooms and then we get caught underneath. I think that hurts us a little bit. But our defense came up.

00:40:37
Speaker 3: It did happen, that didn't happen. But I actually think that was intentional. I think they did not want to give up open threes, so they were kind of making Santa Clair. They were not rotating until the last second to kind of keep them from kicking out on threes. I actually kind of agreed with that with that mindset. The problem is they made some tough shots at the rim in that second half, which kind of heard us.

00:41:02
Speaker 16: Yeah.

00:41:02
Speaker 9: I think the the help toide flyden Over is about a step to flow, especially with Marino, but we recovered.

00:41:08
Speaker 3: Uh yeah, Uh what about Pierre Rondo at North because it's.

00:41:13
Speaker 9: Too early to start recruiting him.

00:41:15
Speaker 3: Oh, I think there are They're definitely recruiting Rondo's kid, Are you kidding me? Eighth grade and he scores twenty three points in the state tournament.

00:41:21
Speaker 2: I appreciate the call. They're definitely we're going to recruit him already have probably.

00:41:25
Speaker 1: Why not offer him now in a middle school kid, Go ahead and make him the offer, because I wonder he's such an elite player, how many years he will actually play in Kentucky before he gets chipped off to the overtiming leader one of these other programs.

00:41:36
Speaker 3: North Laurel nearly upset Saint X, say next one, but North Laurel had a shot and at the end to win.

00:41:42
Speaker 1: North Laurel already you know, they knocked off Warren Central in the first round, nearly took down the favorite Saint X.

00:41:46
Speaker 2: Did Grayson County win?

00:41:48
Speaker 1: The Grayson County beat Great Crossing in the second game.

00:41:51
Speaker 3: Today, Yes, eight, five, nine, two, twenty two, eighty seven, will do one more?

00:41:54
Speaker 2: Who's next? Bill? Bill? Go ahead? Bill?

00:41:59
Speaker 7: Hey guys, first time, long.

00:42:02
Speaker 2: Time, who what what's up?

00:42:05
Speaker 16: Hey?

00:42:06
Speaker 7: I just got to tell a story of my dad is in a rehabilitation nursing home ninety one years old. I had to make a phone call to the establishment to make sure that they had the game on. Okay, they did, They did get the game on. Me and Dad watched the game. This game will go down in history as one of the greatest games that I ever watched, just because I was with my dad and this shot by oh Way, Well, this show, by this shot by old Way will be remembered for fifty years, maybe one hundred.

00:42:43
Speaker 2: And I appreciate me. They're starting to.

00:42:45
Speaker 5: Watch it in person and belove it.

00:42:48
Speaker 3: That's thank you, guys, Well, thank you sir, God bless you and your dad. That's that's a very cool story. I love this stuff.

00:42:54
Speaker 2: You know.

00:42:55
Speaker 3: There there's obviously been a lot of negativity something this year and you know, I understand that some of that. Obviously, we've had criticisms. You know, there were there was stuff yesterday and and all that. With all that said, Kentucky fans at their core, they want moments like this. This is what it's about. We've just even the calls on this postgame show. It's an example of what we've talked about. And this is why I love doing this and talking to you is for moments like this, and that's why I think it's.

00:43:32
Speaker 2: Such a cool day. We'll take a break, come back final segment.

00:43:35
Speaker 3: It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show working Back. It is the Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame Show final segment celebrating a huge win. Uh in the Bluegrass. We've had multiple days of these daylight shows where Terry Viners has to sit there and wait on us until we finish, and UH, I enjoy.

00:43:54
Speaker 2: It, to be honest with you, and I enjoyed this with victory.

00:43:58
Speaker 3: So, Iowa State looks like they're gonna cruy Tennessee State, Utah State leads Villanova, Tennessee up a couple on Miami, Ohio, and Bama looks like they are gonna take out the pride.

00:44:07
Speaker 1: You know, we said this last week in Nashville at the SEC Tournament. We as a fan base, we deserved these moments. It's been a long time coming for us to have a moment we could celebrate. Got to celebrate with everybody at Tin Roof down there in Nashville. Kept to celebrated here at Sports and Social today in Saint Louis.

00:44:21
Speaker 3: We need we needed this, let's all. I mean, if we can win Sunday, there's no reason not to think about it. We can win Sunday. Then you go to Chicago and you play Friday night. I mean we'll have that Chicago arena packed with people. We will, we will have it absolutely fact. Oh, you gonna have to drink mine.

00:44:43
Speaker 2: I know, I know, you know. That's not my.

00:44:48
Speaker 3: Thank you very much. This guy's bringing me drinks. He must not be a listener. But that does anybody want this?

00:44:54
Speaker 2: It's just lemonademade. Shut up, it's not lemonade. I don't want to. I don't want to.

00:45:00
Speaker 1: You know, he'll drink it right there.

00:45:01
Speaker 3: Hey, come here, Mario, you'll drink it. Oh you already got him one. Well I'm sorry I can't do it, but uh, Brian'll drink them both.

00:45:10
Speaker 1: I'll drink them both.

00:45:11
Speaker 2: I'll drive you home.

00:45:12
Speaker 3: Brian.

00:45:12
Speaker 2: There you go, all right, who's next, Brian? Brian? Go ahead, Brian?

00:45:17
Speaker 17: How you guys doing just elaborate kind of like you were asking about the temperature at eighty two and the sun is shining bright on my old Kentucky home today.

00:45:26
Speaker 2: Oh that's great. That's what it is here too, That's awesome.

00:45:30
Speaker 5: Yeah.

00:45:30
Speaker 17: I just wanted to reiterate and say, uh, could you guys, would you say or not say that Modiabante's game today may.

00:45:39
Speaker 2: Be the best as a UK wildcare that he maybe? I mean, I don't know, I'm not going Yeah, I can't think of one better.

00:45:47
Speaker 3: I mean, I think he's been really good in the last ten games of the season or so this year.

00:45:53
Speaker 17: Yeah, I think with with you know, his experience in NC Double A, you know, and then him going to the final four year, it seems like he just really enjoys the spotlight. And I know down the stretch when old way you could tell you he's get a little fatigue playing all that time. He came up with some huge buckets and he was six of eight.

00:46:11
Speaker 3: He did feel he was six of eight from the field he got. I think you're exactly right, got huge buckets down the stretch. There is something to be said.

00:46:22
Speaker 18: Go ahead, yep, yeah, between him and BG, like I said, you know, I mean, oh way, not to downplay any part of his game at all, but between those two guys today, if we didn't have them, we definitely would have struggled to win, if not win.

00:46:35
Speaker 2: I agree, I appreciate the call.

00:46:36
Speaker 3: I think we I think one thing, like I said earlier, about to kind of validate some of Mark Pope's philosophy on this team. Again, it has not been perfect. I actually think you know, it wasn't the best belt roster. But part of his thought process in Aberdeen and Diabate was those guys have tournament experience, they won't get rattled. Played thirty nine minutes, one turnover his point guard with a bouncy ball, with a bouncy ball, diabaatee h seventeen points, eight boards, and you know, doing doing his thing. So I think, you know, part of what they part of what he thought was as we get down the stretch here, I want guys who've been through these wars, and he had them and they showed up to that.

00:47:23
Speaker 1: Bringing Brandon Garrison and Diabte off the bench is quite a weapon he's got sitting over there, and they both need to have been playing. The callers said their best here during tournament time.

00:47:31
Speaker 3: And I still think there's a better game out there for Kentucky, I do.

00:47:36
Speaker 1: I mean, I think that's your best from Colin Chandler.

00:47:38
Speaker 3: Yet at all you have not and you really haven't gotten in the last few games a lot from Mareno, yep, that's still out there to have out there. And so you know now, I mean you've gotten. You're not gonna get performances like you got from Away all that often.

00:47:51
Speaker 1: Right, he can't go up for thirty five on Sunday.

00:47:54
Speaker 2: He could. You probably don't want that. You probably want him to have to, you know.

00:47:59
Speaker 3: I mean Kentucky had twenty nine points after saying sixty points in the last twenty five minutes.

00:48:04
Speaker 2: Thing.

00:48:04
Speaker 1: Yeah, our defense was doing the job. Our offense stunk it up in the first half. I'm sitting by an Iowa State fan and he leans over and goes, is this usually what UK tries to do offensively? Just jack up three pointers? After that?

00:48:16
Speaker 2: It was bad? You were you in the crowd yeah.

00:48:19
Speaker 1: I sat with Bill Meck in the first half in the crowd, Bill Mack, because here's a superstar lineup. Well, Bill Meck obviously is a Kentucky fan, but he went to Iowa State, so in between games he had an Iowa State shirt. All he was gonna put on over hiss Kentucky show.

00:48:32
Speaker 2: Oh what's he gonna do Sunday?

00:48:34
Speaker 1: He's all Ohio State. I mean, he's all Kentucky.

00:48:37
Speaker 2: He's all Ohio State. That would be a weird decision.

00:48:39
Speaker 1: Iowa State was his college girlfriend, Ukazy's wife.

00:48:43
Speaker 2: Okay, all right, good four more? Who's next, Thomas Thomas? Go ahead, Thomas.

00:48:50
Speaker 9: You guys have covered all the main points, but I would tell you, uh, casino in Orlinsborough's pick, did Bonte pulls up for a three pointer by screaming no he.

00:49:00
Speaker 2: Yes, Yeah, that's all I want, dude, That's exactly what we win.

00:49:05
Speaker 19: Yeah.

00:49:06
Speaker 17: No criticism.

00:49:07
Speaker 9: There's nobody who criticized.

00:49:08
Speaker 17: This game was a memorable Kentucky victory and the ANTAA Tournament.

00:49:12
Speaker 3: I totally agree with yep, appreciate the call. I mean you can say we could have done this better, we could have done this better. But there's one goal in March. And that's just a win. And that's what they did.

00:49:23
Speaker 1: Best Kentucky NCA Tournament wins since Houston.

00:49:26
Speaker 2: That was a big People forget that Houston team was good.

00:49:29
Speaker 1: Such twenty eighteen? Has it been ninetiers nineteen, nineteen nineteen, that's a long time to have a win like that.

00:49:36
Speaker 3: That was a really good win because that Houston team was good and we had Hero and Johnson. We didn't play particularly great, but made the plays down the stretch to get the win, and then we thought had a great chance to go all the way because uh Carolina got upset and we lost Auburn.

00:49:52
Speaker 1: In the Auburn I had a chance to beat Over because the one of their top players.

00:49:56
Speaker 2: Yeah, one of their top players was out. That's exactly I forgot about that. Who's next, Darrel, Darryl? Go ahead, Darryl.

00:50:03
Speaker 8: Hey Man, how are you doing?

00:50:04
Speaker 2: Body Wall?

00:50:05
Speaker 8: This is Nolan's Papaul, the one that was sneaking on his laptop.

00:50:09
Speaker 16: Yo, they ain't class and listening to the game. I'm going to put it.

00:50:13
Speaker 8: To rest on that final time out. I looked at the video and Aberdeen is underneath the basket. You can't see him on the video, but he had already grabbed the ball before. He's kind of caught time out. I slowed it down, I stopped it. I made it go, but he grabbed the ball. Instance he grabbed and he cannot call time out.

00:50:31
Speaker 2: So if you look at that, is that the stuff? Is that the rule?

00:50:35
Speaker 8: One hundred percent? He didn't call it time out?

00:50:40
Speaker 2: Absolutely, Well that's the rule. Then that's that's interesting.

00:50:43
Speaker 3: I didn't you taught me something because I didn't know that's what the rule was. If you grab the ball, because you're right, he does have the ball.

00:50:51
Speaker 8: It's exactly if you take the video and you keep hitting the stop button, so everything picks that ball up. That hand is I'd extended his time out.

00:51:02
Speaker 16: I've watched it several times.

00:51:03
Speaker 8: But everything sneaks out. You can't sit on video. He's like the ball because the refree didn't pull it to you. So he grabs the ball and Herb's not quite done that motion for a time out yet, so that the.

00:51:15
Speaker 2: So you know what, Herb did not deserve the time out.

00:51:18
Speaker 3: I appreciate that s not deserve I must assume you're telling me the truth, sir. I appreciate the call because I want to believe Daryl Darryl I think was his name.

00:51:27
Speaker 2: I want to believe him. If if the rule is that.

00:51:30
Speaker 3: When you grabbed the ball, they can't call time out, it is true Aberdeen did have the ball in his hand. So if that's the case, then it was too late for Sindak to call. I must trust that guy knows the rule, because I didn't know that was the rule.

00:51:43
Speaker 1: All the Kentucky fans are going to break down a film like this at the end of the game to see if the guy got a chance to call a timeout.

00:51:49
Speaker 3: I hadn't seen Herbsindak in about twenty five years, and I would not have known that was Herbersindek.

00:51:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, I had.

00:51:54
Speaker 2: I had not seen him since I think, what did he coach n C State?

00:51:57
Speaker 1: In C State?

00:51:58
Speaker 3: I think that was the last time I'd see him, so I didn't even realize that was that was him.

00:52:02
Speaker 1: He's been in Santa Clara for nine ten years, something like that.

00:52:05
Speaker 3: I think I didn't know. I thought if you had told me where is herbs and Dad, I would not have known. And now I, uh, now I do.

00:52:14
Speaker 2: Who's next, Mike, I'll actually do three more? Mike? Go ahead, Mike, is it me? Yes, if you're mon, Yes.

00:52:27
Speaker 16: Hey, this is Mike.

00:52:28
Speaker 15: Hey.

00:52:28
Speaker 8: I just wanted to call and say I love your show and I love Ryan Lemon too.

00:52:32
Speaker 5: He's a good guy. And uh uh, well I got I got one statement? How about him?

00:52:38
Speaker 1: Pat?

00:52:39
Speaker 5: See?

00:52:40
Speaker 15: How about Tim kah pack cat See appreciate.

00:52:51
Speaker 2: It, Man, appreciate it.

00:52:51
Speaker 3: Show, appreciate it. Thank you, sir. Ryan Lemon is a good guy. And you gotta be hot in that shirt.

00:52:57
Speaker 1: I am sweat running down my boxer shorts right now sitting here.

00:52:59
Speaker 2: In the Yeah, I had a deal.

00:53:01
Speaker 3: You weren't going to mention that word botch of shorts, anything having to do with undergarments.

00:53:06
Speaker 2: You're not gonna mention who's next? Brandon? Brandon, go ahead, Brandon.

00:53:12
Speaker 16: Hey, guys, I just want to say, what the hell of the game that was. I was one of the unlucky for you that had to work, and I'll tell you what. I had it on my phone, I had the radio going, had customers backed up for thirty minutes after that last little bit going into overtime, and it was all worth it.

00:53:28
Speaker 5: And I just want to say make.

00:53:29
Speaker 3: Them wait, I agree, like, listen, if they're not watching the game, that's on them.

00:53:34
Speaker 2: They need to wait.

00:53:36
Speaker 16: They shouldn't even Yeah, they shouldn't even been out running around. Well, hope Billy gets stilling better. We love the pre show. In the case, our show just great. Win.

00:53:45
Speaker 2: Thank you guys, Thank you very much.

00:53:47
Speaker 3: We'll do one more and then we'll call it a day and spend the next thirty six hours getting excited until we have.

00:53:53
Speaker 2: To play again. Who's next? Hanner Tanner? Go ahead, Tanner Tanner.

00:53:58
Speaker 19: Hey, Billy first of all, could feel better, buddy, Matt Ryan, I'm glad you guys are saying what you're saying. This is what March is all about. There's gonna be time to question substitutions and recruiting classes. It ain't today. Today's a day to be a out of control Cats fan. And speaking of which, Josh, you gave up on the Cats two months ago. It ain't too way, buddy. We're playing Sunday. Come down to the B list. I'll buy your beer, because if it's March and the Cats are playing and you ain't watching, then what are you really doing?

00:54:27
Speaker 2: A Cat?

00:54:29
Speaker 3: Thank you very much, and Josh, get your tail down to the B list, and thank you all very much, all of you that are here.

00:54:36
Speaker 2: Yeah, appreciate it, especially for sticking around in this in this heat.

00:54:41
Speaker 3: Listen, this is what this is why you this is why you're a fan. Are for wins like this and games like today. You can put everything else aside. There'll be plenty of time, as he said, to talk about rosters and talk about this and talk about that. For today, Kentucky gets a huge win. Otega Away makes a sh that all of us will remember for the rest of our lives. And the Cats move on, and who knows what happens on Sunday. My guest, just a complete guess, is Saint John's and Kansas win. We'll probably play at two thirty on Sunday Eastern. If Saint John's or Kansas loses, we might be five five thirty. That's just a guest, though they won't announce it until late tonight after the games. Thank you all very much, Billy, go get to feeling better. So Sunday you're one hundred percent. We'll be on the pregame show whatever time the game is. Two and a half hours before that, we will be on the air. See you guys later the Cats win. This has been the local toilet Dealers KSR postgame show,
