Episode 52 - The Death Guard pt 1- The origins of Mortarian and Typhus

[SPEAKER_00]: We said we were going to cover Typhus, but there's already writing the episode and turns out we have to Typhus and Mortarian because there's no other way to tell a story.
[SPEAKER_01]: Let's talk about who's a huge liar because I said I wanted to do Typhus and John said no problem.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do Typhus and then I got an email and it was not Typhus.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's because the problem is like we can't like just start talking about Typhus and covered none of the backstory of Barbara's.
[SPEAKER_00]: being true.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a bit that why it's like the year we're not going to be valuable pretty quickly, but the whole beginning.
[SPEAKER_00]: Anyway, before we begin the cast, please, as always, like and comment, I've noticed you were all doing this and it is objectively hilarious because I have to approve all of the comments.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we're going to start as a type is kind of the main thing we're talking about here is type is and why are we talking about it?
[SPEAKER_00]: GW has a certain way they like to write characters.
[SPEAKER_00]: And as much as probably on it's personally, I'm not, I'm not huge into chaos in a table top.
[SPEAKER_00]: I have a deathguard army.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, and a thousand suns army.
[SPEAKER_00]: But whatever, it's not important.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the reason we're doing typhists is that they write their chaos characters better than any other characters in a story.
[SPEAKER_00]: Actually, the chaos characters are better than a lot of the imperium characters.
[SPEAKER_01]: I think the chaos characters and a lot of people are going to be mad at me for this because of loyalists.
[SPEAKER_01]: The CAS characters are written better because CAS is driven by personalities.
[SPEAKER_00]: You see, I actually thought it was different.
[SPEAKER_00]: I thought they wrote the CAS characters better because chaos on its surface is just evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's genuinely evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I think GW, it's easy to write a Vulcan.
[SPEAKER_00]: Vulcans, he's a knight in shining armor, or a Lehman, or a Lehman's little bit in a little bit loopy, but it's easy to write a sanguineous.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to write a good character because they're motivated by doing good.
[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they have some stumbles along the way, but their motivation is good.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's to write an evil character is tough because it can turn people off.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like you don't want to make the evil faceless evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't write, you can't write a Jew-carry as rebel, as rebel, as rebel.
[SPEAKER_00]: That guy in the name sucks.
[SPEAKER_00]: As rebel, that it's hard to write a lot about because he is in, he is pure evil.

[SPEAKER_01]: They are chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wait a second.
[SPEAKER_01]: So they are kind of unbound.
[SPEAKER_01]: So you need the strongest of personalities to drive these people to if they have a reason for them to be together for one, but also to make them interesting because if you just go we fight evil
[SPEAKER_01]: That's boring.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think what they did well with the chaos characters is they wrote a fall.
[SPEAKER_00]: They wrote a reason behind them.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we talked about this, like, you know, Typhus was born mortal, just like, you know, Arman and Abadhan, who we've covered before.
[SPEAKER_00]: However, I will be honest, Typhus is a little bit more of the pure evil of the whole group.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he embraced it.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he didn't.
[SPEAKER_00]: Typhus didn't fall to chaos, but he was not happy about everything that happened.
[SPEAKER_01]: Typhus just went, this is awesome.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Typhus is, he's closer to Eribus, I think, than really any of the other main characters.
[SPEAKER_01]: Typhus is, which, Typhus is neutral evil.
[SPEAKER_01]: I would say he's not care to give a kid.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is.
[SPEAKER_00]: I would.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to move lawful neutral lawfully.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, actually, I think I think Types isn't always very structured.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: He found evil embraced it and went.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I can this make.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's how it's a lawful evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think him and Arab is thinking about lawful evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think my thing of like neutral evil is more like more tearing.
[SPEAKER_00]: It means more neutral evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's just he.
[SPEAKER_01]: At this point time, I think more tearing is more counter key because he just doesn't.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's mad at.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I do the box and you have the nine lines.
[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, anybody that doesn't know D&D.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you do the nine boxes, he's in the bottom.

[SPEAKER_01]: That was the ultimate and softballing one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's had his goddamn mind.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, but yeah, Typhus is rough and so we're going to get into that because the truth about Typhus, that he has a main motivation and that is normal.
[SPEAKER_00]: He wants to do everything for normal and we'll get there.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are a question you might ask when I listen to this, if you're not really that in depth with the lore, it's why we're doing Typhus not Mordarian.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just two reasons one, there's actually more about Typhus.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mordarian took almost a ten thousand year break from the game.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mordarian also doesn't want to be part of
[SPEAKER_00]: But that's part two.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they part wanted.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's just more tearing just like just disappeared from the Lord.
[SPEAKER_00]: Typhus was like at the after the fall at the gates.
[SPEAKER_00]: Typhus, more tearing just kind of went and brooted in the eye of terror.
[SPEAKER_00]: Typhus was like, nah, I'm not done yet.
[SPEAKER_00]: And went back at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: The other one, too, is exactly the bread's point.
[SPEAKER_00]: Mortarian just, you know, he just wasn't that interested in even doing anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's a lot like Magnus in this game is that he was never looking to be part of this.
[SPEAKER_01]: He also made the shitty day, and I know I'm getting D&D and I got again, but like he made the ultimate, man, don't make a wish before you read the the small print.
[SPEAKER_01]: He made that deal when they were stuck in the warp and has been just kind of dealing with his shitty decisions ever since.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, all of his, is it more terrarians a much better character study, but the problem is just, I'm candidly, he got a new model in two thousand seventeen's.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what made him kind of, he keeps launched back in the lore then prior to that.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was really tight, because types had a model since I think third edition.
[SPEAKER_00]: He was also the person leading the lead.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what I'm saying.
[SPEAKER_00]: Where is it?
[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about Typhus.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the reason we're going to talk a bit more on Typhus is like Typhus.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's the chosen of Mergarine.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and he also, of all of people who talk like Arman hates chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Abadon hates chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Typhus loves chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Typhus and Nervole, but then the note I made here is that directly that weird married couple who'd be up for thirty years and are legitimately best friends, that we all see them like, why?
[SPEAKER_01]: They're definitely wearing the sweaters where they have to be together.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like they are they would not enjoy each other more.
[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why we're going to focus it more on Typhus because the idea here is for us to cover deathguard at the same time.
[SPEAKER_00]: So after all that, let's tell them we're tearing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if we're tearing.
[SPEAKER_01]: But there's no deathguard without my tearing.
[SPEAKER_01]: Mortaria, Mortaria's actually pretty goddamn cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: I love this story.
[SPEAKER_01]: We gave him shit, but he has a good story art.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love, I love the origin story of Mortaria.
[SPEAKER_00]: It just, it actually, all of Mortaria stories are good.
[SPEAKER_00]: You just feel kind of bad for him.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that, which is a weird, human, human magnetistic, that weird bit.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're like, you just feel bad for them.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then he's random moments.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's technically trying to do the right thing most of the time, but
[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is that you go to key points in the story, you're playing the video game.
[SPEAKER_01]: We were just talking about games.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he chooses the evolution.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like that's the problem is he's trying to do well.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's trying to do the right thing.
[SPEAKER_01]: And then you get to
[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, I'm done with act one of this particular game.
[SPEAKER_01]: You've got a big choice to make and Morton.
[SPEAKER_00]: Morton.
[SPEAKER_00]: Morton's pick makes a wrong choice.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
[SPEAKER_01]: He always made the wrong choice every time.
[SPEAKER_00]: So let's dive into Mortarian.
[SPEAKER_00]: So as we've said before, while ago, is the emperor was looking to make a group of business super beings that could help lead humanity out of the darkness and conquer the stars.
[SPEAKER_00]: He did this by making a deal with the chaos gods.
[SPEAKER_01]: I do love the fact that you always do that.
[SPEAKER_01]: He didn't make a deal.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, he did.
[SPEAKER_01]: He made a deal that he instantly, as he was walking out, he was like, fingers crossed.
[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't really count.
[SPEAKER_00]: He went into there.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he decides just to tell them, it tells the chaos guys to write off the debt that he has with the most kind of history.
[SPEAKER_01]: He took on a loan for infinity money, then went,
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, back to see.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I'm declaring bankruptcy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And it suit is the first payment came in.
[SPEAKER_01]: He went, oh, I'm never going to pay.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it was never going to happen.
[SPEAKER_00]: He then goes back to Tara to his super underground vault, which we've shit on enough times, then he doesn't need to build a secret hidden layer in the Himalayan now.
[SPEAKER_01]: Dr. He will.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just good.
[SPEAKER_00]: It is funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: It was his hidden secret laboratory in the underneath the Himalayan Mountains, which was also under the Golden Palace.
[SPEAKER_01]: We joke about this, but every single thing he just said is one hundred percent.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is canon.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is canon lore in like the tenth edition godex.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not picking it on third edition.
[SPEAKER_00]: They said one stupid thing.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've been saying this for ten editions.
[SPEAKER_00]: So any clarity years of lore?
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, it says happened.
[SPEAKER_00]: So at some point he's growing his primarks and of that and the chaos gods go screw you and they grab all the primarks and send the different places all around the galaxy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And this feels like it's actually a random though.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is the chaos gods kind of
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think I don't think it was random.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it was more like the trials.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was I think the chaos gods knew that mankind is corruptible and primarks are just as corruptible.
[SPEAKER_00]: I think the primarks tried to put every because they couldn't grab it.
[SPEAKER_01]: They put most of them in shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the idea was it even will take we did dark angel before will take the lion.
[SPEAKER_00]: the lion should have turned a chaos on that planet.
[SPEAKER_00]: But watchers.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the watchers in the dark saved them.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_00]: Lehman should have turned a chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: Lehman's two baller to fuck.
[SPEAKER_00]: But growing up on Fenris, he should have turned to chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: And or died.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's what all of these were designed as a test.
[SPEAKER_00]: And even though all but two, if ish passed,
[SPEAKER_00]: They then later half of them fell.
[SPEAKER_00]: The goal that they had, the chaos guys had was to show the, they saw the flaws of mortality.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this made it easier for chaos to overtake their souls.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is why we talked about leaving Russell those guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the line that we wrote was,
[SPEAKER_00]: Chaos is like vampires.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have to invite them in.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't chaos can't turn you to chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: You have to turn you to chaos.
[SPEAKER_01]: But the chaos is trying to set up a situation where you will invite chaos in.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to make things so shitty that you need their help then they can corrupt you.
[SPEAKER_00]: Or in the case of Conrad Curse, which apparently is his name.
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to, by the way, I'm never changing my name.
[SPEAKER_01]: I know I'm wrong.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they don't really make you embrace chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: You just become chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: They don't make you invite chaos and you just kind of just start doing it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And that's what they say.
[SPEAKER_00]: So the primarks because they were, they still had complete autonomy over their own lives.
[SPEAKER_00]: They had to turn the chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so they, the chaos got to put some of these primarks in horrifying.
[SPEAKER_00]: air is literally the situations and I really do believe more tearing got the worst one with Barbara's.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Conrad.
[SPEAKER_01]: No, Barbara's is worse than Conrad.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's the worst planet, but however he got picked up by no one.
[SPEAKER_01]: being the night hunter as a child, you know what, we'll go back.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll go like, I just, we're gonna do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna do it.
[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna do the night hunter.
[SPEAKER_00]: We'll, we'll discuss this more in death, but I, I really do believe Barbara is in the center.
[SPEAKER_00]: Barbara is the planet is he.
[SPEAKER_00]: If you're trying to turn someone to chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this place sucks.

[SPEAKER_00]: In the sense of like, the difference is, I think, let me, say this way.
[SPEAKER_00]: If your goal is to say you need to turn to chaos to be saved, Barbara's.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let's talk about barbarous, barbarous, should never have existed.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, barbarous is also weird because the regular populace actually lives in the less toxic part.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but let's dive into what barbarous is.
[SPEAKER_00]: So barbarous is a planet that was colonized during like the early age of technology, which is fifteen thousand years.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, for and by the way, no reason.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a toxic world has always been a toxic world.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: The farther you go up, so hey, I went high up in the atmosphere.
[SPEAKER_01]: What is it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Clouds have acid and it's really weird.
[SPEAKER_00]: Again, unfortunately, this is where John's knowledge of physics gets annoying, like apparently a barbarous when you go up as the air becomes thinner, like it would in every planet that's how gravity works, somehow the toxic levels get higher.
[SPEAKER_01]: It apparently doesn't rain.
[SPEAKER_00]: It must be, I don't know if the toxins are lighter than oxygen, but they're able to push the oxygen down.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care anymore.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, move on.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's referred to as a perpetual poisonous fog.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the higher you go, the worse it is.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now again, what a point out, during the age of technology, mankind had better technology than they do currently, and they currently can terraform.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they also could have made this.
[SPEAKER_00]: This didn't have to suck, but a beautiful world.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, back to what the water was.
[SPEAKER_00]: There are these toxic clouds that basically sit, not to anything above sea level is toxic and the higher you go.
[SPEAKER_01]: All the living rewards lived effectively in the mountains.
[SPEAKER_01]: You don't have to be huge mountains.
[SPEAKER_01]: It just was mountain.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So we don't know exactly when what things happened there.
[SPEAKER_00]: What we know is that the mankind that settled there kind of eat doubt in existence in these lowlands, the lower parts.
[SPEAKER_00]: But then at some point in a dark age of technology,
[SPEAKER_00]: powerful psychers erupted on on the planet, which is actually that lines up pretty well out of the lore.
[SPEAKER_00]: We have that time that as a dark age technology came into play, you saw psychers be prevalent amongst humanity.
[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so these psychers, one of the cool abilities they had and cool and heavy air quotes here, unless you look cool, if you're them, shitty, if you're not, as they could now survive in the toxic cloud.
[SPEAKER_01]: They also came down.
[SPEAKER_01]: They are effectively in
[SPEAKER_01]: I'm using so much D&D today.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Screw it.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's fun.
[SPEAKER_01]: They went.
[SPEAKER_01]: They came down like random magic users emptied their spell vaults and then just walk back into the poison gals and went, you can't come back after me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, one note on them, too, is depending on which book you read, they're referred to as like Xenos and not Xenos.
[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of, I read this as they were just abhuman.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't quite, where they were called.
[SPEAKER_01]: People can disagree with us on this, but I just think that they were abhuman because they evolved to be able to be there.

[SPEAKER_01]: And they were, why I think they're probably wildly mutated because they were psychers.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and they probably were, and the truth is we're going to get to in a second, which God they were all working for.

[SPEAKER_00]: Psychers eventually became warlords and they began just kind of conquering the planet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they're more looks because they would fight each other.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's why I like the term warlords.
[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, technically, you're not wrong.
[SPEAKER_01]: These weren't great guys.
[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, no, these were warlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: And what they would do was, which is actually kind of, let me go with the funny here.
[SPEAKER_00]: is they actually for necromancy is necromancy is funny because the thing was is I find this funny because the reason why it's funny is you've got it so you've got these warlords all right and they're all in different mountains effectively and they want to kill each other because they're all just warlords who want to conquer each other
[SPEAKER_00]: and you've got this population of humans in the lowlands.
[SPEAKER_00]: But those humans can't go into the mountains unless you kill them and then re-animate them as what is basically a plague bear or a poxwalker and then send your army of the dead.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it was just what ends up happening is these warlords are fighting each other with zombie armies and every time their zombie army gets like depleted they go down to the local population kill a bunch of them with their zombie army raised them as new zombies and then send them off the fight.
[SPEAKER_01]: Which is a big deal because it makes enforces the we hate these guys more Yeah, because you're just trying to go about your shitty shitty shitty wait for it shitty life.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
[SPEAKER_01]: And then a guy comes down and murders you and everybody else.
[SPEAKER_01]: And turns you into zombies.
[SPEAKER_01]: For the soul reason that the last time one of these guys got together, one guy said some shit to the other guy.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now he's determined to kill him.
[SPEAKER_01]: And now you have to suffer because one dude said he didn't like the way that the dude's shoes looked.
[SPEAKER_00]: And Barbraus is like this for five thousand ten thousand years.
[SPEAKER_00]: We don't really know that's the whole thing for several of the times.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: Eventually with more caring comes into play is that more caring at appears on Barbraus like all the primers do as an infant.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so he just a baby crying and it appears in the field of at the end of a battle, just crying.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so one of the most powerful warlords named Nacar, Nicar, was wandering the battle.
[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, that's on the names like just again, go with Eric.
[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll be easier for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's wandering the battle field after his victory.
[SPEAKER_00]: And he hears the cry of a child.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he begins searching for it.
[SPEAKER_00]: When he comes upon it, he's actually about to kill it and then has a realization that
[SPEAKER_00]: This child is taking full breaths of air to cry and no human could ever be at this altitude and do that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he goes, well, this thing's cool.
[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to bring it with me and I'm going to make it my champion.
[SPEAKER_00]: But the care is
[SPEAKER_00]: your evil.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he doesn't do this and say, let me go help you out.
[SPEAKER_01]: They don't say this.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's, uh, he would be a litch if you're talking about fantasy tropes.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, very much so.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: This guy is, he's your pure evil, but it's he's extended his life.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what he does is, so first off, he tries to fear how powerful, martirian is.
[SPEAKER_00]: He doesn't name him by the way, martirian just translates to child and death, which by the way, if you
[SPEAKER_00]: If you go to Latin, that's actually effectively what it means.
[SPEAKER_00]: So, more death, audience, son of Aries.
[SPEAKER_00]: So again, every now and then GW just decides to say, yeah, just Google translate a name for me.
[SPEAKER_00]: And then that's where we go.
[SPEAKER_00]: So his name translates to effectively the death son of Aries.
[SPEAKER_00]: which, by the way, is actually a cooler name than anyone else has been given.
[SPEAKER_01]: But he true.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're just really, really, really, really.
[SPEAKER_01]: Do the desk sound of the guy who wore it?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's a death sound of the guy who wore it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what he does, which is just super dark, is he brings more tarient further and further up the mountain until more tarient can't survive anymore, then moves him down like five feet and builds a fortress right there.
[SPEAKER_01]: So, Martarian is always, Martarian lives his entire, effectively shyly through adolescence.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm about to die, but I'm not quite, did you see Deadpool?
[SPEAKER_01]: He does that in the tube forever, like his whole life.
[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I will say there is one positive here.
[SPEAKER_00]: This is a story of a space marine, not succumbing to poison.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
[SPEAKER_01]: You know what, I was, I read this last night, by the way.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I was debating because you skipped a lot.
[SPEAKER_01]: And I didn't know if it skipped, I don't know why.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Nicar does while trying to poison maternity death.
[SPEAKER_00]: begins teaching him how to, like, like, warfare and all this stuff.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's teaching, moratorium, battle, strategy, even some of the arcane techniques that necary, which was a huge mistake.
[SPEAKER_00]: Colossal mistake.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the care is just couldn't be happier because his idea is that he's going to turn moratorium effectively into his warrior slave, which he kind of does.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but he also thinks
[SPEAKER_01]: in the writings, he actually thinks this is said in the books and a lot of the stories.
[SPEAKER_01]: The characters thinks that Martarians go to stay loyal forever, even though he's been just God damn, it's not even awful.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's been sinister to him his whole life.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, my other complaint is like, the character's whole goal is just to conquer this shitty planet of barbarous.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there's a very, like, the term that I'm using here is urinal, the turtle, which I know a lot of you haven't read.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's like, you just should be trying to conquer the galaxy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Eventually, more parents are asking a bunch of questions about the people that are being turned to his zombies and the characters.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the stories written that Mortarian sees some of the captured lowlanders and realizes they look like him.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mortarian is about three meters tall, which means he's about close to ten feet tall and met in ways close to a ton.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he sees someone who's maybe six foot and like two hundred pounds.
[SPEAKER_00]: And it was, oh, they look just like me.
[SPEAKER_01]: Well, probably wait.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's been starving to that.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he's basically seeing like, you know, a normal, like human being, actually, it would be a normal farmer effectively.
[SPEAKER_00]: And going, wow, he looks just like me.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you could take three of them.
[SPEAKER_00]: But I guess they did look more than, more than, like, then, then they carried it.
[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, more terrian decides that, well, decides or realizes, pick your, what you want here, that he belongs to the lowland people.
[SPEAKER_01]: And just, well, that's wasn't this, because he realizes that everything he's done up to this point,
[SPEAKER_01]: has caused the suffering of people.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he has a legitimate moment of clarity of, oh shit, is my entire life been me causing horrible suffering to everyone down besides me.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he has that, oh shit, moment of, I'm the bad guy.
[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, very much so.
[SPEAKER_00]: The only part of the story is kind of funny.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's more tearing and just,
[SPEAKER_00]: Bricks out of the fortress and runs down the hill.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the car just yells, hey, stop.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that was lame.
[SPEAKER_00]: Just does nothing about it.
[SPEAKER_01]: But also has no spells to stop him from going.
[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe he couldn't affect them.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, to be fair, more tearing technically is wildly more powerful than again.

[SPEAKER_01]: He finally sees his people for the first time and realizes even though he's the pinnacle of human evolution basically.

[SPEAKER_01]: and understands their play, understands.

[SPEAKER_01]: He's a genius.
[SPEAKER_01]: They're all, they have the key to understand.
[SPEAKER_01]: He immediately sees what's happening and disseminates everything about their life.
[SPEAKER_00]: You know, one of my favorite parts about this, though, as we just were discussing, that he sees these people, Catherine, like, wow, they look just like me.

[SPEAKER_00]: The people of Barbara, when they saw his terrifying ass, he is a monster in their eyes.
[SPEAKER_00]: They've never seen any being this large.
[SPEAKER_00]: He is, he's also, because he's never been outside.
[SPEAKER_00]: His skin is pure pale.
[SPEAKER_00]: His eye.
[SPEAKER_00]: his eyes have a hollow stare.
[SPEAKER_01]: He did a book back that up a little bit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we need to do something about this, but to kind of to help Martarian out right around the time he gets down there, a different warlord, not Nicar, attacks the village he gets to.
[SPEAKER_00]: And the villagers always just get their asses handed to them in these battles.
[SPEAKER_00]: There's zero, seven thousand.
[SPEAKER_00]: Martarian just grabs basically pointed stick at this.
[SPEAKER_00]: And kills every single zombie.
[SPEAKER_00]: the warlords runs away up a mountain and does the double middle finger at the top of the mountain you can't do anything I'm in toxic and martyrian runs up the mountain and cuts his head off.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is actually it's amazing.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're not selling this.
[SPEAKER_01]: Read his book.
[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this is this is cool.
[SPEAKER_01]: This is more the guy one hundred percent thinks.
[SPEAKER_01]: You can't come up here to do absolutely anything.
[SPEAKER_01]: A more tense, giant ass.
[SPEAKER_01]: And they've described it in detail as he's lumbering towards him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And Martarian is almost instantly elevated the savior of Barbara, which is the normal story of most of the primers.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he then takes all the teachings of the care and teaches them to all of the people across all of all of Barbara's.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they start, you know,
[SPEAKER_00]: developing tactics.
[SPEAKER_00]: They start fortifying themselves.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's a future invasions.
[SPEAKER_00]: All of a sudden, some of the, now that they're able to survive combat, they actually have enough people to actually start making warriors and they begin to go on the offensive.
[SPEAKER_00]: One such, you know, of these people was a person, many of Cala Typhon, who will be later known as Typhus.
[SPEAKER_00]: So just, there's, there's my, like, we're getting the Typhus guys.
[SPEAKER_01]: We're shadowing.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: So it's actually, this is cool, is shit.
[SPEAKER_00]: So moreitarian than, this is where this, this books, I, I actually didn't like the, and the book got a little bit lame at the end of it, but I like to be getting part of the material and book is good.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he starts teaching us.
[SPEAKER_00]: So everyone, he's, he's teaching his warriors had a fight.
[SPEAKER_00]: He's, there's warriors are coming from other villages to come learn the ways and go back to their villages.
[SPEAKER_00]: So what they do is they start first off.
[SPEAKER_00]: He starts a, you know what?
[SPEAKER_01]: No, John, he starts a global revolution.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's not even trying to start a group.
[SPEAKER_01]: He inspires the populist.
[SPEAKER_01]: And he's so basically he's so influential.
[SPEAKER_01]: by not even trying to be influential.
[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what I think it's so inspiring.
[SPEAKER_01]: He's him just doing what he does trickles down on a global scale.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's that that whole.
[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the next that we're going to do here is he does is I'm going to compare it to the game civilization.
[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to do it on he then starts picking off warlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: You can't take the, that's it.
[SPEAKER_00]: I, from a civilization, you build out, you build out, and then you have to start actually reach to a point where you can't grow your civilization anymore without conquering.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so they start solving the problem.
[SPEAKER_00]: So he does is he starts working with the Smiths and this heart to sign breathing apparatus as an armor because this toxic fog, we didn't mention earlier is it's not just that it's toxic to your lungs.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's also acidic.
[SPEAKER_00]: It'll burn your skin off.
[SPEAKER_00]: So they start building armor, breathing apparatus, they can go in, and they start killing basically up all the mountains, all the lower level warlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: And they, they, they, in our success country, easy because these warlords
[SPEAKER_00]: arts there it's been what can ten thousand years and they're they're so corrupted with power yeah they they have the thing that you could actually show up can't even it doesn't even I actually don't think their fortress is actually had walls yeah probably would have just been like yeah my territory's marked
[SPEAKER_00]: like they couldn't imagine or if I had walls facing the other warlords.
[SPEAKER_00]: But if you just came up from the lowlands or like loving comes from that direction, who cares?
[SPEAKER_01]: Like it's inconceivable that you could act that there would be an actual threat to them from the populace.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so what happened is over time more terrible just picking off one after another until there's only one more Lord Laugh this and the care now the care does know his stuff and he put his fortress so high up that no one can get there absolutely no one and so and this is just it rightly more terrible this is a big deal because we have to give him actually do
[SPEAKER_01]: He's due, because he's far enough up in the atmosphere that your armor will just melt.
[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you're not going to melt.
[SPEAKER_01]: You will.
[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a, hey, my guys were, oh, cough, cough.
[SPEAKER_01]: We couldn't quite make it.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's, I give you this because the fact that the Emperor shows up and does Emperor stuff, which is, if I would have an actual conversation with someone, well, the Emperor did, the Emperor does this in the worst way possible.

[SPEAKER_00]: The point where they actually were fighting side by side for a lot of this and became very close friends.
[SPEAKER_00]: However, this starts to become afraid with the arrival of the emperor.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, afraid?
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, this is what we start to think of.
[SPEAKER_00]: It eventually becomes a nightmare between two of them.
[SPEAKER_01]: I can't say.

[SPEAKER_01]: You're like, hey, man, I came over and murdered everyone you knew.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Typhus, as with all these stories, is one of the first souls of Barbados to be converted into a space marine, which they do all the time.
[SPEAKER_00]: Although I did realize that I wrote this, I was like, oh, all the times that they converted someone from a regular person to a space marine.
[SPEAKER_00]: It's supposed to be super hard, and they have many times they fall to chaos.
[SPEAKER_00]: Like every, so maybe that was the reason they wrote about it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And we're always like, so we have to like, adopt children and shove organs in the tournament to something.

[SPEAKER_00]: So anyway, but anyway, the thing about Typhus is that this conversion for him went seamless and to keep point about that is Typhus not only does it actually go seamless for him, but he all he becomes almost a super soldier like deadpool ass.

[SPEAKER_00]: Except for the peep from Barbara's, which makes sense because Barbara's is not, remember, even they never terraformed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's not a lot of people there, but they're losing like,
[SPEAKER_00]: Less than fifty percent of the people who go through the process.
[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, which is unheard of.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so, more Terriens able to grow it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And this is why it's because everyone from Barbaros is inherently tougher.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can just handle the toxins.
[SPEAKER_00]: They can handle all the pieces being shoved into them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Any different levels, the warlords were obviously Nurgle psychers who are raising armies of rotting undead to police.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, that's what he was like, this is, this is my favorite place and he was just having that time of his life at it.
[SPEAKER_00]: And so this is why you see the people and actually had an innate resistance to toxins, they could survive better.
[SPEAKER_00]: Neurgo knew eventually they were all coming over and his view, but
[SPEAKER_00]: what I'm getting at is what Nergal did was he kept giving these people better and better toxic resistance.
[SPEAKER_01]: He gave them gifts without asking for anything in return.
[SPEAKER_00]: Because he wanted a population to be high.
[SPEAKER_00]: That's the case.
[SPEAKER_01]: Because he knew that in the end, you're all going to be mine.
[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to, you don't have to, you don't have to pan a devil's deal, you don't have to do anything.
