So we're at the desks again. But there's a good reason. What is it. Well, I mean this is when we're talking about the Nintenant direct but also next week, Yes, they're going to see a fun little live actual live live, yes, like in person. So this weekend, hello, guess we're gonna be at too many games in Pennsylvania. Yeay, on Saturday, there will be a live podcast at two pm, so you can come. Yeah, that's person point. We should mention that because if you're at the end of time, yeah, if you're in the area, the general Tristate area, that's what it's called. Right, Ye, you're very blurry right there. You go back to the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center and come watch a podcast episode that we're recording live in front of a studio audience. You can participate and ask questions. We have a bunch of games planned and special guests. Yep, special guests. Now we don't have either other plans without me now though we should we can. We'll probably grab someone, but it'll be fun and then that'll be a go next week. And yeah, a signing, We have a signing on Friday at seven. But yeah, we have a signing at some point. I don't know, but they wrope us in we come and we're a double package. Now we're a double feature. I mean they asked. We actually had our panel was back to back. It was me and then you, and we just decided to put them together. So they did ask. But I think it's funny they always announced us in the same tweet. We're always next to each other in the guest list. It's like you can't get one without the other. Now I've roped you into this ecosystems. There's an intend of direct that happened today or yesterday. If you're watching us on Thursday. Had to wait to film because a direct got announced. So we got to get this done a little quicker than usual. So we're back at the desks again. Um yeah, all right, So this was your direct more than anybody's, so I'm gonna let you. I didn't want to watch your video, but I saw a little bit on Twitter. You seemed like it was mid I don't say let people have a little fun sometime, you know, Hey, I'm walking here. Hey, if you know, watch my video right at the start, I say, this was a great direct. If you're a Mario fan, I just got my Zelda, so I'm completely fine that's watched this direct and talk about it. Just I want you guys to know I don't really like Mario, so there was nothing there for me. But I will say, and I wanted you to go first, but Super Mario RPG does have me hyped because I do love that Mario. Because it's not a platform. I gotta be honest, I've never played it. I've never played a RPG, so this will be a way to get me to play it. I bought it so when I first got into retrocollecting, I bought Earthbound and that at the same time, and I started Earthbound. No, I started that first, and then I started Earthbound like a week later, and I loved Earthbound so much. I forgot that I was playing Mario RPG and I never finished it. So this will be my chance of actually finishing up. But I remember really liking the week that I played. Okay, yeah, I never touched it. I remember going over to friend's houses and they had it, but it was not a good it was not a good game to like share with other people. It's forty hour RPG. Yeah, and I've always wanted to try it. I was going to do it a stream of it or something. I was hoping that it would come to Nintenno switch online. But here we are. We got we got a remake. Yeah, I actually I was watching it. What would you call as a remaster? It's a remake. It's a remake, for sure, because we're gonna have this conversation again. A remaster would be if it was just HD. But it's remake. It's mate, they remade the crema. It is kind of just HD. Wait, wait, what did we call I forgot what we called uh, metroid? It was ah, that was that was a remaster, but we called it a remake because they redid a lot of stuff. Yeah, I think we did lean towards that. But then we tried giving it its own name, and I forgot what we called it. But I might be inclined to give this the same name whatever, whatever week, whatever we said Metroid was, that's what. This is. A redo, a redo it. It looks really cool this this I like. I like what they did with it. It basically just looks like Mary RPG, but with good graphics. Uh, it doesn't look like they change the art style much at all. Yeah, some people in my chat because I react to them live. They were like, not sure about the arts style, and I'm like, no, are you kidding me? It's like it is the arts style. It's it's almost in a way. You know when you're a kid and you play these retro games, these old graphics, and then like you don't see them for twenty years and in your head there are a certain way, and then you see them and you're like, man, that aged this. This looks exactly how I would have imagined, how I imagined to be. Yeah, they did such a great job. But do you want to go over the well, I don't want to stop you No, no, no, we should we should stop. Yeah, I want to go deep in depth because my video I went over my good bits. But I want to look at everything because I think it's important or fun to break down a whole direct and have a conversation about was the event good or did we get some good announcements? Yeah? I you you streamed it, I assumed, right, Yeah, so I woke up at ten, opened up my laptop or groggy eyed, and I was falling right back to sleep. That you missed it. It's no, no, no, I watched the whole thing, but it started with five minutes of Pokemon, and I have never seen Pokemon look this bad. No, I no, I know, even my chat and I mean like my chat is going to be full of Pokemon fans right, like we're all Nintendo fans here. Even my chat was snoozing on this. It. The common census I was seeing is that they're just showing us a lot but not really explaining any of it. But we're not also not really seeing much and it just looks bad. Like visually, yep, bad. I saw a lot of Pokemon that I've never seen before. And I've always said that Pokemon's biggest asset is the character design of the Pokemon, because like all these other companies come out and they try to make their own version of Pokemon, but they fail because it's just not Pokemon. They don't have the Pokemon, they don't have the cute animals. They look like shit compared to the Pokemon. Pokemon. I agree, these look bad. This looks like the ones from what I'm seeing. I don't even know if they're new because I didn't get that far in Scarland, Violet. This these what I'm seeing here looks like a knockoff of Pokemon. It's like really sad to see. Well so far, if you'll watch the video, everything we've seen was either in the previous game or they are existing Pokemon, but they do introduce some new ones coming up here, and I don't know, I don't know what they're going for. The color scheme is off to me. The legendary Pokemon they look like weird, cheap knockoff. Yeah, like you're like you're saying, like when a Pokemon company or like a you know, Digiman's that thing guy. These things they look yeah, all of that. They look like like third party knockoff versions, like like the Wish version of a Pokemon game. Yeah. And then even this Legendary I mean, I don't know if this is supposed to be hype, but I don't know what I'm getting from that. It's just nothing here. It's so supposed to be epic and it's not. It's not. And it's also they did the exact same thing with Sword and Shield. They did the same DC trailer where they showed the legendary at the end. It's just carbon copy what we went through five years ago. It's not exciting anymore. And visually it's just so not impressive, especially after Tears of the Kingdom. This whole thing right here, this academy is supposed to be like this big epic new area and it's all stark, white and empty. Yeah, it's like, what happens? It's so bleak? How am I supposed to get excited about this? Every shot they show of this like environments too, like so bleak. So there was a framed dip. I just watched a framed dip and the trail I saw some framed dips in the trailer as well. Um, I don't know, I don't know. It's I have a whole review about this, a whole thirty minute review on how I feel like these games are Lacklaster Year and game Freak don't really know how to design games. But I'm sorry, Pokemon fans. If you are excited, I know that that nostalgia and copium is a heavy drug, and then you can still really enjoy these even even in the current state. But I don't know if I'm getting too old or just getting too over making excuses. I'm just I'm tired. They're they're very out of touch. Now we're older and there and they are also out of touch. Yeah, so yeah, this is just completely unexciting, so I had to be over Yeah, very boring. I agree. The next one, I guess was Sonic Superstars, which we already saw. So this was a really bad exciting and we knew it was coming to switch already. That was another point I made just about the direct itself, the presentation being a little mid is that quite a few things in here we'd just seen them in other events. So we saw Sonic, we saw a Persona Tactics, which is coming up, So it took the wind out the sales. You know, if we had seen this Sonic the first time right now, that would just be another notch in the cap of this direct being awesome. But it is really just what we've seen already. It is good to know that it's coming to switch. Yeah, that's where I'm most likely to play a game like this. I'm not going to sit down on my Xbox and play Sonic. I kind of wanted in my hands on a portable console. Yeah, I'm excited for this. I'm definitely gonna play it, hopefully a lot. But I'm skeptical about a few things, and we talked about them already. On this podcast, like the multiplayer, and this doesn't answer any of those questions. I would right up say local co op, but I was, Yeah, this doesn't explain what happens if one of the characters falls off screen. So I don't I don't know. I don't know how I'm gonna enjoy it. Also, I might not get it on Switch because if I want to play with other people, I can do like a remote play situation on Steam. So I don't know. I mean, am I going on Steam? Am I part of the people? I mean, what's going on? Sure we could do that, but that that's weird though, I well, no, well yeah, but to do to do remote play while you're streaming, because then other people just straight up half a control of your computer, that is weird. I think. I think Valve makes it so that they only have control on the game. But I could also just use a separate device. Okay, that's cool. I could play it on a laptop and stream it through the Elgado or something. We could. We could figure it out. That shouldn't be too hard. Okay, thanks for the invite. Oh no problem, Um, what the Hell's this is a farming game? We're back to farming games. Yeah, Kim Kim and I were laughing about this today. We're like another farming direct really. Yeah, it's called Pallia. The saving grace here on this one is that it's free to play and it's online. It looks like Fortnite, like Visu always looked like Fortnite, like early Fortnite. But it also gives me Disney Dreamlight Valley vibes. But I think, what really, the only reason I think I would want to play this over any of the other cloone games is just the online aspect, because none of the other farming sim sim games have had decent online And if I could just go fishing with my friends and plant some seeds, that could be relaxing. I'm not sold on it. It looks a little a little jankie, but I might try it. It's free, who cares, looks like a lot of people in the lobby. I kind of understand where it would be fun to just like sit around in a game with people, Like when I used to play Destiny, like very actively, we would sit at the tower, which is like the hub world and just hang out there and mess around. Now it's the same with like Animal Crossing, when you would join someone's island, um and you just hang out. People would like just they did get in discord and talk and discord while sitting on someone's island. It's cute. But at least here you actually get to interact and help and fish and do all that stuff together. So I get it. It's free whatever. Yeah. The next game was Persona TA Tactics tact Tactica tact Tactica. I said, Tactitia. Oh, that's wrong. That has to be wrong. I mean, we could just call it Pisona Tactics. It's it. I love Persona man, so this is coming and and I love tactics games. I've talked about that so much. I would defend Mario and Rabbits to freaking cows come home. That's an old expression. There's something about this that isn't doing it for me. I'm not seeing the in depth tactic side that I would like, and I'm not seeing the Persona riz that I like. There's something very bland about this and just lacking personality and style, and I just don't I don't know what it is. Maybe the trailers are doing not doing it justice, but they're they're trying to milk the Persona cow, which is weird because it's not a fat cow. I mean Persona five. I mean it's big in terms of big apgs, but Persona five sales, I mean like two million on Royal. That's that's a good chunk. That's a good chunk. But the Persona franchise has like a like a lot offshoots, doesn't it. Uh? I mean in terms of what you're saying with milking it, Yes, yeah, for sure. Now more than ever they have a lot the shadow of Labyrinth. I have no point here. I just think it's interesting and think it's interesting because you look at like Zeno Blay two for example, So two million copies about the same as Royal. Could you imagine having like four or five spinoff Zeno Blade two games? Like who's buying those? It's like the same thing here. But I bought most of the Persona ones, So I mean, I'm just I'm just I think my point there are a lot of die hard Persona fans and they'll buy it. They'll buy anything, they'll buy whatever brings them back to those characters and JRPG very similar term based strategy. So the crossover is here more so than a dancing game. M okay, what was next? Next was a myth Force, Remember myth Force. I actually thought this looked cool. I think it looks cool as well. This was one of the ones that got my ears perked up. The art style reminds me of that thirty three Immortals art style that we saw before, but this, this reminds me of he Man cartoon. This is this is supposed to mimic old eighties like Hanna Barbara stuff, and it looks awesome that the trailer announcer actually had does a he Man joke at the end, the power of power of Friendship or something he says instead of power of Gray Skull. I hope there's like cinematics and voice acting and stuff, because this looks great. But you don't see any cinematics. You just see just the gameplay. So this is the first time in again a trailer where I actually want cinemat Yeah. Yeah, it's It looks like a dungeon crawler you can you can jump in and out of at any point. Um, and that should be good. It should be interesting. It looks interesting, it looks cool. It's made by a spire they did, which I think, Yeah, yeah, they developed that. I doubt it. It's an aspired beam Dog. Okay, so beam Dog probably made it because the Spire is one of those companies that if you work with Nintendo, you hear with the with the midle lot, they're really good at porting games over to the switch. Them Panic Button have done a lot of work porting games to the Switch. Oh so beam Dog was founded in twenty in two thousand and nine by BioWare co founder Trent Uster, So this could be pretty good. We're doing some research here. They've had a lot of games, Boulders Game, Siege of Dragon's Spear. I was trying to find a list of games they've brought to switch. Yeah, they did, not to the Old Republic. Um they did. I think they've done pretty much every Star Wars game. I think that's the main thing they've done for Switch. Stubbs the Zombie as well. They botched Nights the Old Republic, that port thing that was the first. All of them were great ports, except for Knights of the Old Republic. There was a game breaking bug in the middle of the game that stunted your progression. So if you hit the middle of the game, you just couldn't beat the game that sucks? Do they not fix it? Eventually? Didn't didn't the not say republic to just drop all the DC that they were going to put in the game too, and then apologize and offered people freestyle Wars games. That sounds right, Yeah, that's the thing that happened, so maybe okay also, and then that's fact in this deep dive. Aspia was acquired by Embracer Group recently, and Embrace a Group is the team that makes all the rift of the NecroDancer and coup of the NecroDancer games and also a ton of stuff. They Embrace a Group is a is a what do you call it, like a fund like like a like a holding comedy. Yea. They just they just bankroll a bunch of studio. They just ate up a bunch of studios and are holding them basically hostage now. And they're canceling games left and right. So Embracer Group is not trying to go on a fun deep dive. This is getting dark. So they've got Gearbox, saber Ta, hq UM, and a bunch of others old recently, they recently just bought all of the Western Square games, like the franchises for a tomb Raider and das X and stuff like that. Wow this what a what a little rabbit hole we've fallen down here? Anyway, that's a myth fos where we got it? Next we got splat fests and you got ice cream, all the flavors everybody loves, like vanilla. What do you think's next? Of course it's strawberry. Why why are you Why do you think that's weird? Because I think vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate all the defaults because of Napoleon. Also just but we don't have chocolate. We have mint chip and it Why I don't think that's weird because I love Minship. Well, I love Minship too. It's actually my favorite out of these three. So I'm glad it's here. But at first I was like, why the heck wouldn't you do chocolate? And that I remembered every flavor is the color that you shoot when you picked that team, so you would be shooting dire in Yeah, but you're already shooting come. So vanilla is like a tins of yellow. It's not like, yeah, you're white, Yeah, yours of yellow. Sometimes you need you need to get more regular because it sounds like ya there was white before. Also, that was Mayo you, oh, not mine. No, I'm not talking about me anymore. I'm talking about Splatoon again, changing the subject. Yeah, let's move on. Let's move on. Family friendly, Bob, family friendly. I couldn't care less about Splatoon. I gotta be in white and red isn't good either. Yeah. I couldn't kill us either. I couldn't kill less. I couldn't kill us minship though, team Minship. It's also team Minship. Also, then we finally get Detective Pikachu for the first time in fucking like eight years. Are you excited? No, it does look it does look kind of good. Though, I was kind of interested in it. There was one great voice line in it where he what the hell it is? He says something about coffee, So it was it was such like a like a canned like like it was a good voice club me, like, don't even talk to me till I had my coffee. It was just so stupid. Oh, there was the one who was like, oh, it's a light roast or something. He said, there's a lot of coffee stuff in this. M I kind of crapped on this a little in my video just because I think this is either a mix of the switch showing its age or game Freak if Game Freak did develop this, continuing to show their inability to create visuals in a video game. But I think this game looks visually disgusting, like just like N sixty four, levels of circular things are like square, and like well, if you go back to his coffee cup, you can count the polygons um. I don't know. There's just something about the way. I mean, not something, just it looks bad. I'm not even gonna try and copium or justify it. I think it just looks really bad. I gotta be honest. I think a lot of games in this director looked pretty bad. Oh yeah, and I think it's just a switch showing its age. Also, I think this game like started development on the three D s that they just probably didn't change anything. I didn't want to talk too much crap about the game because I haven't played it. But Kim tried playing the first one, bless you, my God, thank you so much, and she she Kim is a pretty low tolerance baff for like finishing and enjoying a game, and even she bailed on it and said that it was too easy. She just felt like it was piss easy and wasn't having any fun, so very very u. She felt like she was just watching story the whole time and she wasn't into it. So but I never played it, so I don't know much about it. I just liked the idea of a talking Pikachu. Yeah, I think that looks cute. I think the story is probably gonna be pretty good. It looks not the best, but I do think that visually looks better than Scarlet Violet. Wow, that's not hard. They're also showcasing certain points of the game. So I found the voice line. I think he just goes so much for my morning coffee. I'm gonna play it. That's it. That's it. That's the line. I'm like, Oh, I hadn't mute it. Whatever, do it again? Did they hear it? No, you're not gonna be able to hearing no matter what. So much for my coffee. Something tells me, I don't know why I want them to be like my text message tone. I'm watching it. I'm mute. And he does not move his lips anywhere near that line, probably because it's Japanese. Japanese. Yeah, I know, like, doesn't move his lips at all. They're like, you know, this is gonna be translated to a bunch of different audiences. Let's just not even bother. Yeah, why why bother? Yeah? All right. Next, I mean it's interesting that we're getting this because it's been development for like eight years. We haven't heard anything about Detective Pikachu until just now that it was announced. Years ago we were told essentially it was in fact that it was canceled, so it is interesting to see that it's still happening. We got an Ambo like like, yeah, I think they had that Amibo must have come out with the three DS version. I guess it did. It was a big I have it. It's a big ambo. It's like five times big big guy. Next we got the Super Mario RPG. Baby, we already go on talked about this. We don't do anything else. Do you have anything else? No? I mean it looks good, but like we were saying, like we said earlier that this looks like what we imagine Super Mario RPG to look like, but the animations it looks like like, Man, you couldn't have like spice it up like a little bit like with with Mario at the end when he's like grabbing the star and he looks all stubby and fat. There's just like, no like this, there's no emotion or anything to it. Yeah, I guess at all. It's very nineties though. It's very nineties stiff and emotionless, and I don't know. I don't hate it, you know, I get what you're saying, and I would like it the other way too, but I kind of like the nineties vibe I'm getting from it. Yeah, I don't. It's fine. It's fine. We've seen much worse and we've seen much better at the end of the Nintendo Director, which is what I'm most excited about. I think this was my main exciting thing from the event, and really my only takeaway. This was my really only like, oh this is for me. I like this the rest. I'm happy other people are getting things and I might play metal gear, which we'll get to. I think I was snoozing up until this and then everything again. Well I don't want to keep referencing my life because we're not there now, but CHAT was snoozing until this, and then it was big will Use direct saved like that whole eruption, and then from there people were pretty happy with the direct, So the next thing, actually I am excited for and interested in. Yeah, so this was weird. I think this is like the first time we're seeing Nintendo showcase stuff that's nowhere near done. Like things look like a little rough, and it could be because the switch is so old now, but also I just think that there's things in the pipeline that they want to show because they have nothing else to really show. I think they just wanted this to be a real Mario direct, you know, they wanted to throw It's just a cool moment to say, here's Mario, here's a Peach game in his Luigi game. It's just memorable, and I think they were just willing to show whatever they had, which, yeah, it looks very early, very rough. If this is a slash of the entire game as far as what we can expect, I'm probably not excited. But assuming this is just a very early look, I'm down to play a game as Peach. I think that's interesting. We haven't had I think we had a Peach DS game that was like a puzzle game or Yeah. So, okay, so there's some more here. This is officially right now called Princess Peach. Game for Nintendo Switch. So we don't know what this is, but there was. The last Princess Peach game was for the DS. It was called Super Princess Peach and you It was a platformer, but the bottom of the screen had her emotions and you press one of the emotions to do an ability because she's a woman. So really, I know, and I think that they were trying to bury that game because they realized how sexist and weird it was. So it's interesting to see them go back to a Princess Peach game. Hopefully it's a little different. Interesting if it wasn't different at all and they just doubled down. Yeah, but yeah, I suspect this will probably be pretty good. It looks I mean, I don't know. It looks more like a puzzle game. I guess it looks like she's fighting people in like a two D way. It looks is this almost like a beat him up the way it was structured? Yea. From what we see you here, it looks like a two D plane sort of almost paper. But you can walk up and down the plane like you wouldn't beat him up I guess like Yoshi or beat him up, yeah, or beat him up. But it looks like most of this look is her solving puzzles and stuff. Yeah, it looks it looks similar in structured to a Yoshi game, but I guess we'll see. So so they said that that's not coming out till next year. M so they got to that there was one another. One thing I did really like about this direct is a lot of this stuff comes out this year, which was interesting. They're usually they're usually pretty good at ah, not announcing things too far out. Usually, yeah, because they are. They are the kings of doing it the other way as well and announcing something ten years beforehand, like Pickman, Metroid Zelda. But yeah, they're also good on the other side, so this is an interesting way to announce this one too. They you have visually enhanced Luigi's mansion Dark of the Moon for a Nintendo Switch Doc of the Moon Dark Moon doc Moon. Sorry, I just thought it was funny you said Dock of the Moon. I think that's a Transformers game Doc of the Moon. I think. So that doesn't sound like a sentence, I hope my one hope for this mansion's Transformers Dark of the Moon. Okay, Well, this this unless shayah La boff is playing Luigi. It was a movie. It was a movie. Are you ready? I think that this Luigi's Mansion looks really weird. It's like one frame a second. It looks like they didn't do much. It looks like they just took it from the three D s and farted it over. I would need to look at the comparison. I can't remember what the game looks like. UM. I was kind of hoping they were remaking it a bit more because Dark Moon was very restrictive and how you played, and I didn't really like it. It was more linear. I didn't finish it, so I can't really speak too much of it. But the first game in the third game were far more open as far as how you explore the mansion, and I was kind of hoping they were remaking it and like fixing it and like streamlining some of that stuff. But it does sound like it's just a visual enhancement. Um. And of course Megan Fox is playing Peach in that. Um, that's not true. That's Transformers. Oh that's Dark of the Moon right right, exactly right right. It's easy to confuse them like I did. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. The next game is Arkham Trilogy. It's so late for this, like you should what I said, That's what I said. This feels like in the first year or two when we were getting all the three sixty games being ported, it over beefing out our libraries. And it was awesome at the time because we had all these great games we had kind of just play, but now on the go in collections to get one. Now six years in, when our libraries are so bloated with backlog and new things coming out, it's I don't want to say too little, too late, because these games deserve better than that. I mean, these games are awesome, they really are, but for lack of a better expression, it's a bit too little, too late. It's how I felt when Overwatch finally hit the switch. I was like, yeah, too little, too late, buddy, And that was two years ago. Yeah. I love these games, except for Arkham Knight. I didn't like that game. Um, but yeah, it's too it's it's too late for these They should have done this a long time ago. Everybody's played this on other platforms. I'm surprised that they're able gonna be able to get it to run on the switch at least. Yeah, at least they're trying. But especially that the third one with the open world pots where you're you're racing in a car. That's gonna be tough. Who Yeah, so who's plotting though? I wonder is it panic Button? Is it? What's to say there? Turn me Up? It looks like yeah, it's usually if you see a developer on one of these Switch things that you don't recognize, it's usually the person that's a boarding it. I'll look them up. I'll see what they got. These are great games, and I think everybody should try them out. I don't know if Switch is going to be the best place to do that. They're great games, and I'm always glad, oh happy when people get a chance to play something new in a new way. If this is the only way you get to play them, great, But I'm just I think we're looking at it from like these would have done really well for everyone four years ago. Yeah, yeah, it's just now it's like if you're a straggler and you haven't grabbed it yet, and why not check it out? Yeah? Yeah, I'm gonna Turn me Up's website and they're promoting Batman. It takes two. They did it Takes two? Well, that was a really good That was good. Yeah, yeah, Kim and I played that. That was good. They did Tony Hawk, which with Kim and I just bought three days ago because Kim wanted to play it. They did the Borderlands collection. Oh, they did Johnny the Savage Planet on Switch. That was sick. I was actually really surprised with how well that ran on switch. They did Life is Strange, Brothers. They've done a lot of switch work, so I then good, Yeah, I think we can have some confidence here in this Batman all right. Next we have um, what the hell's this thing called? Uh? Looks like Demio? Yeah, looks like Diablo Divinity, you know, I looks like Demio. Yeah, you're right, it was. I was like, wait what and then it said, uh, what the hell's the name of it? Again? Keep friding gloom Haven. I was like, okay, never mind, um, okay, whatever, I'm not Yeah, that doesn't look It's tough. It's one of them genres where sometimes when I happened to be playing one, I'm always like I should play more of these, but then I never really want to. M Yeah, okay, that's all I got to say. Next is just Dance Baby twenty twenty four, they got to stop. Can I go on a slight tangent? Sure? I was about to say, we shouldn't make sure we don't play any of this so we don't get copyright claimed. Do you want to talk about what happened to our last episode? Oh? Sure? Okay, so this is gonna be a slight tangent and then we'll get back to it. Can I call them out by name? Sure? Oh my god, I love this drama. So after our last episode where we talked about the Xbox event and the Ubisoft event, immediately like while we were live, we got hit with a claim and it was four what part was it that you blurred out the Xbox series announcement trailer? Yes, so no no audio, just the video of the Xbox series trailer. So we we got that claim in and you know, we assumed, we thought we didn't really look in it. We were like, all, Xbox has pinned us because we don't ever get claimed ever, and then when we do, it's always just an automated thing from the big companies. Right, So the Xbox has claimed us. So Bob went in and blurred out the Xbox trailer. We disputed the claim and it went away, but it went away after we got hit with two more. So in the meantime while we were waiting, we got two more claims, one from one four the Prince of Persia Ubisoft trailer, and another one for another part of the Xbox trailer. I was working on blurring out those parts so that we could get rid of those when I had a thought, because it was pinging in my brain. I saw the name of the claims and they were in a different language, and at first I didn't think much about it, but then I was like, wait, why is it in a different language, So I looked it up. I looked up the exact name of the two claims that we had got, and it took me to two YouTube videos by the same exact name, a channel named volk e O l K on YouTube. They have five thousand subs and they had uploaded reactions to the events, the Xbox and the Ubisoft event, and they had, as far as we can tell, manually claimed our videos for using the same footage as them. That footage being the Ubisoft and Xbox trailer, showcases that they don't have the rights too. They're not affiliated with Xbox or Ubisoft. They were just claiming us. And at first you might be wondering, why are they doing that, and Bob, you can get in at any point you want to if you want to. But what they're obviously doing is when you get claimed you we initially lost all monetization on the video. We were unable to monetize because we had claims which shut down the video. We can't get any views on it, it doesn't get shared out to the algorithms, and we don't make any money because this small channel has decided to manually claim us. So wait on, it goes into escrow when you dispute it. So when you dispute it, now YouTube because you dispute it, and YouTube's like okay, so you're you're saying it's fine, so you can make money on it, but we're gonna do it in escrow, so you don't get that money. Um, and then if we decide that it's okay, you'll get it. Then if we decide it's not that we pretty quickly, yeah we did, but we were The first claim was the Xbox one them also yes, yes, okay, So what I think happened was that might have been automatic, and then and then they got they can tell you why. I'm going to fast forward a little bit just so I can explain why I tweeted at them. Other content creators replied to my tweet saying it happened to them too, from them and they were coming to their Twitter as well to get answers. So it wasn't just us. It wasn't automated. There's a system in the back end of YouTube where it shows you all matching videos to yours. They're going in there and then claiming all the videos that are matching them, and by doing that on a showcase video, they're claiming everyone else that's reacted to a showcase. Okay, that's more sense, because sometimes it's something like with music, for example, it's something like a label or an MCN that could automatically. Sometimes it even comes up as a manual claim, but it is the MCN that is automatically just claiming things. But this is a relatively small YouTube channel, and YouTube gives everybody the tools to see other stuff other channels that share uh that content. Yeah, so we have that on ours. I almost never look at it, and I only do anything if it's one hundred percent match. YouTube will tell you like there's an eighty percent match hundred percent, And there are other channels that just straight up steal our content and uploaded, or they'll like redub it in like Spanish and uploaded, which I don't care about that, but I can we get claimed and we can't monetize, and our video was enable to monetize for the first twenty four hours, over the first twenty four hours that went in escrow. Yeah, so it seems to me like this small YouTube channel is just farting out content, getting these matches and then trying to capitalize the revenue from because they get to split rev or sometimes they might get lucky enough and get revenue for the whole video, and that seems to be the only way they can make money because their videos get like eighteen views. Yeah, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it's it's very he is why I can't give them the benefit of the doubt. Because when I disputed them and they didn't reply within like half a day, I went to the two videos that they claimed us for stealing. I commented on those videos under my beat them Up's account because I knew with the checkmark would ping them and I said, hey, don't know if you know, but you've claimed to have claimed our video, because you please release the claims. You know what they did. Instead of that, they immediately delete need both of the videos that I commented on, only those videos. That's when I went to Twitter and I commented on their recent tweet and I said, hey, it seems like you have purposely claimed our video and we need these claims removed so that we can get monetized again. Can you please remove them? That tweet I tweeted at them directly because I didn't want to call them out. I didn't want to make a big deal about it. But that tweet ended up getting like two hundred likes because people just found it because they tweeted it. Their tweets never get any likes, so you know, they got notified of this. They have tweeted several times since then. They have not paid any attention to us, and they have not removed the disputes at all. They don't care. This was very much on purpose that our last episode suffered in the algorithm. It's one of our lowest viewed episodes because of them. Because of them claiming and taking our revenue away for reacting to a public event that they don't have any rights to have. And the last part about YouTube system is when you dispute, the person that made the claim gets thirty days before they have to make a decision or reply, so they can hold onto this for thirty days. Sorry, I'm a little heated, so yeah, just dance twenty twenty twenty four. This is the one that we're we're looking forward to this this Nintendo directs. Yeah, no, it's good. I like this. We may as well actually turn the volume on because we're gonna get claimed by anyone. It may as will actually be you be soft, We are gonna get something's gonna happen because I'm saying, and the trailer is pretty much we've never been hit before. We've never been hit before for reacting to things. Never Yeah, you're right, unless unless we've played audio. Sometimes we played audio two along, like with the Mario movie. Uh so much for my morning coffee. Just go to the next one. Uh fucking what is this shit? I don't know some other I'm jpg. I can't even see what is it? Uh shit, here you go silent hope. Oh yeah, I don't care. It's oh god, sorry, I hate there's such a there's a community of people that like these, but it's just another CHIBRPG. I don't care. So so this is another weird case where the animation actually looks really cool, like it looks like an actual anime. Gameplay is bosh. This is how they get you, bob, These these JRPGs. They make these borderline mobile game adjacent video games. But then they'll put in these awesome anime cut scenes that look sick, and they have these characters, and it tricks your brain into getting attached to these chibi characters more than they should be, and then you're willing to play the game because you've seen some anime. Yeah. Maybe maybe I'm just thinking too much into it. Well no, yeah, you get interested in the anime, so you want to play the game. But there's that was a harvest moon cow. Speaking of copyright infringement, we should help someone, all right. Next is Faith Farm you Love? Yeah, yeah, we know. We talked about how I feel like I've aged out of this. I don't know it, But again, this trailer looks more fun. Again. The last one just looked very fairy. This one looks a little less fairy. These things are all blurring together to me. I don't know, I you know what, I'm trying to do justice here because I know it has a community of people that want to play it. I think it looks like another cheaby game. I'm not interested. Hot Wheels all right, Next Manic Mechanics, Next Crooked But cause we're in kind of a rapid fire here spark sparks of hope, DLCs, Rabbits. This, Um, something's weird about the way this looks too. I mean this people were pretty much like the visuals and Mary up as rabbits. But something about this So I'm like, maybe the switch is just old now, Like something's weird here. I am next, I don't even I don't even anyway, I'm getting honestly, and he hits one quick thing. I'll say, I'm getting kind of burnt out on doc, Like it's a lot of you've played this game, You've had a lot of fun, and then six months later suddenly you're obligated to go back. Otherwise you feel like you haven't finished it, even if like you have, and you've like you're kind of done with the game. I don't know if I'm supposed to be excited for d OC. But sometimes I'm just done with a game. I'm like Pokemon. I'm done. I don't need to go back. So sometimes I mean, if you really like the game, then DLC's gives elden Ring doc. I'm excited for that. Tis the Kingdom DC excited for that. If they randomly put out myo odo C DOC, I'll dive into that. But I don't know. Just some things I don't need. Dragon Quest Monsters, the Dark Prince, I don't know anything about this, dragon Quest Guy, dragon Quest boy. I tried really hard today not to be negative, and that's why I skipped a lot of these because I don't want to. It just makes it seem like I think everything is mid But I love dragon Quest. This looks like I don't want to use the term mobile. It kind of seems like you stay in one area and monsters kind of come to you or you find them. It doesn't look like there's exploration and then you fuse them together and then you have battles where you're created together fused army. Um. Maybe there is a little bit of exploration. I can't really tell, but it looks a bit JANKI. It doesn't look as polished as Dragon Quest eleven as it looks kind of bare bones, and yeah, I just mobile. It looks like a mobile game. I don't know. Then we finally got Pickman four. I thought Pickman four was going to be a majority of this direct. I don't know why a lot of people thought that it would have. They would have called it like a Pickman four direct featuring some other news. They they was a direct they just didn't want, didn't they say I announced the direct they would It wasn't a Pickman direct though. Whenever they say something like that, it's usually like a ten minute chunk is like the thing they they highlight. But then the rest is other stuff. Especially around E three, they tweeted so much stuff. They tweeted so much stuff. Well we got another look at Pickman four. I'm gonna try it. I mean, oh, I'll try it. Yeah. Oh there's a demo. There's a demo next weekend. I think, yeah, yeah, so I'll definitely be trying that. I bet you'll try it and you'll never buy the game. Probably. I'm hoping for that. I must not even try the demo. This says features roughly forty minutes of information focused mainly on this House, which styles launching this year, including new details on Pickman four. I think that's why. Well, nothing, I don't know, maybe I'm reading it different, but nothing about that screamed. People were making it seem like we were getting thirty eight minutes of Pickman and two minutes of like a sizzle reel. I thought it was gonna be like twenty minutes of Pickman, but really because there's nothing else, because they don't have anything else going on. Well, to be honest with what we got, I would rather have twenty minutes Pickman and had foregone a lot of the other stuff. That game boy is sick. I like that game boy on Twitter for the game Boy. I played Pickman three and I really liked it. I said this in my video. I really liked it. I thought visually it was very nice for the wi you. The models of the things you had to find, which is mostly fruit, looked really hyper realistic, which I thought was fun. It was a quaint game that I liked, but it didn't really leave a lasting impression on me, and I'm surprised why getting another one, but I will try it. I do like micromanagement, and it's one of them things where when you watch a gameplay of it, it looks really boring, but when you're playing it and your brain's kind of pinging in five different directions, you get into it and it's more fun than it seems like watching someone play Diablo in a way, I guess. Okay. After this, they also announced that they're porting uh, Pickman one and two from the GameCube over to the switch. That is now two more GameCube games on the switch each. Good point. That's a good point. What's that makes it four? Now? Yeah? I mean this? Oh and you want to count Tie the Tasmanian Tiger or whatever? Does that count? I don't know. He's just doing Nintendo games or old games or it's Nintendo games. I think we're at four. If we're not counting that, then probably like six with Tie. Okay, but I don't want to I don't want to add any because there could be more things we're not thinking of other than Tie. Tie is just kind of more popular. I'm sure there's other GameCube games that have come over. I don't think what about what about it wasn't fun Fantasy Crystal Chronicles GameCube? Oh, you're at my wheelhouse, buddy. That was I mean it was it was GameCube. I don't know if it wasn't anything else. Well, this is pretty much confirming that we're not going to get GameCube Nintendo Switch line stuff or guess what, baby, it was GameCube when I was on Switch and PlayStation four, So you can add that one to the list. We got seven now GameCube games they're throwing on the shop for for for money, so you're not gonna get it as part of your Nintendo Switch Online subscription, which is a little unfortunate. But I guess they're doing it as sort of like a remaster or something. Or yeah, that's a good point. I don't know what guys called it. You can probably do away with the idea of a GameCube online service, um mayer, Sunshine, are we counting that? I found a list? I did count that in previously in my brain there was Metroid Prime and Sunshine. But Sunshine barely counts because you can't buy it. This is why I said to not count tie because we have shinks. The Cursed Mummy is another one that was on GameCube and is now uh tie one, tie two. I outcast. Oh yeah, outcast ms of your favorites Crystal Chronicles Ikaruga, which was a very expensive GameCube game that I have and it was hard to find. It's like a shooter, shoot him up game, but I probably never play. Mega man X Collection was a GameCube game Resident Evil zero All right, Mega man X Collection. Fuck off with that Battle for Bikini Bottom. I'm just reading this list, but I agree that shouldn't count. Pac Man Academy did not come out on GameCube. Interesting thirteen, that Wacky gun game, which I think that was a remake that came to Switch. I wouldn't even count that. So that's all on this list. So I mean it's like sub ten I would say, of like actual good games, and like sub five of first party Nintendo games. So yeah, I think if you want GameCube stuff, you're just gonna get it on the e shop. You're not going to get a new Yeah. Well, you guys, that's your own fault because you bought him. You freaking bought him. If you didn't buy them, maybe, but Nintendo have realized that they can make money from you now they're available later today, did my thumbnail today? And old old you? Did you see the title? Uh No, I forgot the title that Nintendo Direct made me retire and all so stupid. So the next game was actually earlier in the Japanese Direct. So I saw John Riggs tweeted it and I was like, where did you see this? And he's like, oh, I watched the Japanese and American ones at the same time. I was like, that's actually a good idea. Yeah, I've been thinking about doing that because the Japanese ones always got a couple of extra things that we don't get. Yeah. So the metal Gear Solid collection, I'm interested in this. I don't know if I'm gonna get it because I have so many other ways to play these games. But it's metal Gear Solid, metal Gear Solid to metal Gear Solid three, and I think that's a solid collection. I'm a little upset it's not the Twin Snakes version of metal Gear Solid one that is not well liked by fans. But I really like the Twin Snakes versions. The way to play the first one. I heard people say it's not because the voice acting is different. It's like way more over the top, and there's the top. I know, that's what I'm saying. That's why it's good. And there's uh, some mechanics that people say break the game, Like there's a first person mode which makes some of the boss fights like really easy. But it's like the visuals are so much better. The over the top action that they added. He's like doing all these fucking backlips and shit, it's so good. And the voice, the over the top voice acting is is incredible. So I'm upset it's not the Twin Snakes version. Now I kind of don't want to play it because I I want to stop my Metal Gear adventures somewhere and this felt like the place to stop. But maybe it's Twin Snakes. It honestly might be. Uh So, I am a little skeptical about the remake of Metal Gear Solid three that we're getting for the PlayStation in Xbox, but I think it might be worth it to start there because that's the beginning of the metal Gear timeline. Oh, It's like it's like starting with yeah, and it'll be modern. I don't know if it's going to be the best Metal Gear game. I think it'll probably be far from the best Metal Gear game, but us think it'll be easiest to get into. I think three. So my favorite gameplaywise is Metal Gear sol At five, But that's bad. That's got a horrible story because it fell apart at the end because they just pulled the plug in the middle of development, so the game never ends. Um. But other than that, my favorite might be Metal Gear sol At three, which is another reason why I'm like remaking that makes a little bit sense. I always saw gameplay clips of five and always made me want to play the game, but the story looked boring. The gameplay loop is so good, and the story was good up until like the way through. Yeah, you finish it, and then you gotta like look finished it. Yeah, then you gotta like look up the ending because like the unfin Yeah, it's really it's really sad. It has one of the best moments in video games that I think can only be It's a story beat that can only happen in a video game, and I'll spoil it for you later. It's one of those things like in the Last of Us with the Doctors at the end, Okay, you know the Last of Us the end with the doctors, where how Yeah, it's it's a situation like that that happens and you're like, oh shit, this is a move I don't I don't want you to ruin it because I have always actually wanted to play five. Five is the one I've always looked at, like if I was to start with want it probably be there. You know, what's a good idea? I tell this to people too. The Phantom Pains was the demo for metal Gear Solid five and it was really good. It was only two hours long, and it's like dirt cheap. I think it's like two dollars on on Steam. So that's pain, Phantom Pain. Yeah, I remember that. No, No, I'm sorry. Fan of Pain was the name of metal gearself five. Ground Zeros is is metal Gear five? Yeah, Brown Zeros is the demo. I remember that being something like that that I might have played it. It's really good. It's it's like a very small condensed version of metal Gear Solid five. Mm. Okay, that's two hours long, what's it. Yeah, it's like a little tiny sandbox. You you you're on like one military base the whole time. But it's it's really good. You can beat the whole thing in like thirty minutes. But really it's like a normal play through. It's like two hours. I'm gonna buy it right now. It's worth it. Has it physical on PlayStation three? I think I might have it? Is my is my bring it? I'll borrow it. I haven't borrowed a game from someone who's so long. I kind of want you to do that. That's so fun. I'll see where it is, Okay, if you can't on PS four, wasn't it on PS four? Uh? Yes? Do you have it on four? Because that's even better? You know what? I have to ask my brother. He has the list of all of our games. All right, let me together. It's fourteen dollars on Amazon right now. If you can't find it or you want a physical, because on Steam it's probably like two dollars. I want to play it on PlayStation. I need the PlayStation experience. Okay, okay, I see it with a keyboard and mouse like an idiot. I'll take a look. Anyway. We knew we were getting a collection of some sort of vital Gear games on other consoles. This one is confirmed. Why is it doing this? Switch? Thank you? This one's confirmed to have the MSX games, the original Metal Gear games not solid, the old ones, and also the Nintendo the NES games. So this is a great collection. This is awesome and it's volume one, So that means there's gonna be another one games because I want four and five to come to switch and I don't know if five can, but four would be interesting. I don't. Yeah, I don't think five ken, but I think that we'll get peace Walker, which was the PSP game, which was very very goodwins. Nobody played it. Now, that's past collection for Metal Gear fans looked sick. They had odd in their comic books and everything. The comic books are sick. The artwork is incredible. The only Metal Gear game I have played other than what we've talked about is the very first any S one, and I didn't like it. That game sucks. Yeah, it was the game Boy game Metal Gear Solid for the game Boy color is incredible. It's one of the highest rated games of all time. Oh my god, it's awesome Metal Gear game Boy. Yeah. The unofficial title is Ghost Babble Metal Meta Critic. You know what, I'm kind of getting this, This idea of borrowing a game from you has got me dashed up. I kind of want to do you have the Do you have the game Boy game? I do? That game is very expensive. Would you be comfortable with me borrowing I don't know. It's okay. If no, yeah, let me let me. Let me find it, because I could play that on a Nintendo game Boy that you made me. That would be kind of It's fucking sick that game. It's okay. If you don't want it, I get it. I'll find it. I'll find you can take some games you're go with. I'll goo with games I try. You better give it back though, and I'm like using it as a coaster, you know what it is. I think I have two copies of Metal Care for the game Boy because I think I think we lost it, and my brother bought a second one and we ended up finding it. Oh my god. Anyway, Uh, next is Vampire Survivors. Uh, this is kind of cool. We uh this is a this is a huge like Steam game. And yeah, people were kind of uh meming on this one when I was live, because to be fair, I was sat there calling everything a mobile game, and then this came up and I was like, oh sick, and everyone was like, are you serious right now? My guy? No, this one is like it's it looks this way intentionally. This is just the way they wanted it to look, and apparently it's really fun. I think what the whole drawer is is you get so many, so many insane upgrades and the levels get filled with so many creatures and enemies. And I think that's why it has to be like eight bit um and that feeling of just power as you level yourself up crazy amounts. Yeah, I get the drawer. I need to play it. It's got call up. I don't know if it's online, but the whole it's got to be online. The whole big thing with this is that you play with just the You just move, there's no buttons, you just move over. Guy. Yeah, it's an auto shooter because all of the different abilities shooting different ways and stuff. So it's a very very simple game. And the reason why it looks like a mobile game is because it kind of plays like a mobile game. But yeah, that's the way it's designed. So this game came out on Steam and it got It was one of those just viral hits. It was just like super popular out of nowhere, and it got a lot of mobile clones. Like a lot of people started just farting out mobile games that were vaguely like Vampire Survivor. So they said fuck it and they released a mobile version of the game, which plays fine because there's only you just move. There's no buttons, you know, so it is kind of a mobile game. You could play it on your phone if you wanted to. It also reminds me. That reminds me there's another game that's full player call Up. I can drop you a link if you can. But I saw when we were at packs. I'm gonna put it in chat. It's with Cappy Barrs and it's like the same concept. You can play with friends. Um it just the visual arts style might be more appealing to some people. Oh but yeah, it's the same concept. It's the same idea. I actually think that I actually like to look at this one more. But I'm curious of playing Vampire Survivors too. Yeah, I mean this one they tried with the art style. You want to it? Is it on the screen? I don't know. Shit, I think it's just auto switching off of this for some reason. Oh I'm clicked on me never mind, I came back to my face. Uh no, yeah, it looks really good. Uh yeah. They have like a cartoony arts style versus Vampire Survivor, which is kind of like it feels like an afterthought. Yeah. The next game is Headbangers Rhythm Royale. This is weird. It's like a it's like a weird cartoony game where you play as birds. It looks like warri Aware, but with weird looking birds. Yeah. I think to me it has full guys vibes. They kind of went with that concept the art style. Yeah. Yeah, everyone's the same thing, but you can get dressed up as different things and you compete in like mini games, and I don't know, man, some of these things you just gotta play sometimes. But right now I'm not excited. Yeah, I'm not too over the moon about that. Next is Pennies, a big breakaway. This I wasn't too jazzed about. But then they said it was by the makers of Super by the team that made Sonic Mania. Yeah. Yeah, I puked up when I heard that. But then the more I watched it, the more I was waiting for something to happen that would make me excited. It very clearly looks like the three D stuff in Sonic Mania or the like vaguely like Sega Saturan Sonic Era. It looks like this probably should have been a Sonic game, and Sega was just like no, and then they just made their own, which is sad because it's really hard to get excited about a Sonic game that doesn't have Sonic in it. Yeah, and it's like it's heavily using three colors and looks very stiff. It's not really like pleasing my eyes all my brain. I like the way it looks. I don't love the character, but I do like the color scheme because it's reminding me of Sega Saturn Era three. D Oh, Okay, I can see that. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Um. I like the penguins a lot, is what I was gonna say. I think the penguins look really cute. As a mascot I'd get, I'd get a stuffed little penguin guy. I think this game is probably gonna be really fun, and it's just again, I think part of what makes Sonic really good is the character design of Sonic. So it's it's the personality and the jazz of it all. I'm not big on Sonic, but the the personality of Sonic makes it fun in the music, so I don't know. Maybe yeah. Next we got Mario Kartate Deluxe, New Levels, No new characters. Oh not even levels. It's new character. Unless I'm misreading the situation, I believe it is just new characters, which I can't really get excited for skin swaps, especially in a game where I used the same character every time. I don't know. My chat was going nuts for it. They were like Cammick was getting spammed in the chat. But I think that might have been like that because he pronounced it weird. Oh okay, all right, Well maybe that's why, because I was like, if it was Smash, I get it. You know, it's a whole new character plays a different way. But for this, I mean, it may as well just be a Goku skin in Fortnight, Like it doesn't change the game for me. I don't know. I'm not a Mario Kart fan, so I don't know. I just tuned out when they said. But the longer this game is getting stretched out, the more I'm starting to hate it. It's been like ten years, I know. I think I'm just getting out though. This is Star Ocean of the second story are now let me tell you why this is the only one of these kinds of games in the event that I'm kind of looking forward to. I've always heard such good things about the Star Ocean games or game or two games. I don't know how many there is. It looks pretty. Yeah. I bought them on PlayStation two a long time ago, and I never got around and playing them. This has a very interesting two D HT three D art style that we've been seeing where you have these hyper realistic, almost Final Fantasy nine environments, but these two D sprite sness characters, and I think they're meshing together really well. So to get to play this for the first time finally and have it look like this, I think that's a win for me personally. Yeah, if you've been waiting to play this type of game and you finally got it in like a new version, then yeah, that's perfect for you. I'm not like a ten out of ten excided, but it was one of them, like, oh, I can finally play that. Nice. I wish I was interest because that game looks very pretty, but I know I'm not gonna like that type of game. Next is Move It Warrio Style. That's not the name of the game, Warrio Ware Move It. This kind of came out of left field. We just had a we just had one, but the last Warrior Ware game was like weird two second little mini games where you barely got to play and you had to pick a character, and the character kind of you. It was like a platform almost. There are different types of warrior Ware games. Well that's that must warrior Ware, Inc. And this is warrio Ware period. Look, I don't know, I guess, but this is what I think of when I think of warrior Ware, and I'm way more inclined to play this, Like, this is something I actually think I might have fun with. I gotta be honest, the last one I boring. I finished it in like two hours and never went back. But the idea of actually using the joycons for what they were intended, doing these crazy motions, and like the idea of like pretending you've got a hoop that you've got to shake off, you know, stuff like that. Uh, it's just fun to play with friends or even just Kim. You know. I'm way more into this. Um. There's a lot of things here that I'm like, Yeah, that looks fun, but I'm not excited for it, And this is one of those that fools in that category. So I will. I really liked the last warrior Wear game. Oh I love this. I like the way the other guy's looking at him. I really liked the old The Last Warrior Wear game. For like two hours, I played the demo and I was like, this game sick. I love this game. And then I got the real game and I was like, oh wait, it's basically just the demo and like that. Yeah, I know, um, and I think the idea of that game is you supposed to play it over and over again. But I didn't want to do that. I felt like I did everything that I needed to do, and I feel like this is probably gonna be largely the same. I'm probably gonna yeah, you know, I'm trying to get excited for it, but you're probably right. It's probably gonna be like two hours, one and done. But I'm gonna enjoy those two hours. I'm gonna have to spend sixty dollars for the for the two hours. It might be fifty. The last one was fifty really, mm hmm okay. So I went to look up, Oh wait, I'm on Warrio Land. Scroll down Warrio Ware. What was the last one? Get it Together? Get it Together? The last one? I'm trying, shut up, Yeah, no it was it was Warrio Ware. Get it together, and now two years later we're getting Warrior ware and move it. That was two yet, no one telling me that was two years ago. I'm it was September. It was September twenty twenty one. Okay, so it's a year and a half. That's not as bad. That's not as bad. Still pretty I mean, this is gonna get come out. This is gonna come out probably at the two year mark, wouldn't you say November? It's gonna come out a little over two years. I'm all freaking out about how how has it been a year and a half since I played that game? It feels like a month ago. Times times blurring by Next, they had a little segment about Nintendo Live, which is going to be in Seattle at the time of Pack's West. Yeah, I got my tickets. Um, I'm super excited. You're not going to that, I'm not. Next was where do they just talk about? Oho? Uh? Yeah? I like, I really like this link ambo for Birth of the Wild. They did one for each of the champions and all the characters and the Guardian and like everything, I think a boccobblin got a freaking ambo. So I've been excited to see what they're doing for this game. Gannon is in his yes please Daddy pose, which is very standard and predictable, but he looks cool. I think the pose they chose for uh Zelda is wonderful because it's it's it's if you played through the story and this is like the moment or one of the moments in the game that's I don't want to say too much, it's sick. It's sick. I'm so glad they did that. And they didn't just have her standing there just in a pose. She's like levitating. I just think it looks sick. Yeah, No, these are really these are really good. Uh. And then finally they have the last thing, which was now there was a rumor that they're gonna do a twody Mario, so I was excited. I already had this in my brain. But I'm so happy it's not just a new Super Mario Brothers, like they're they're finally doing something different with two Dy Mario one thousand percent, and I love that. I love that it's like this like Nintendo Power, like almost claymation, but not really like like animation. Finally, they're like putting a little bit of artistic work into their fucking games. I agree. I'm glad. I want you to keep talking. This is your game. Uh so yeah, it's called U Super Mario Brothers Wonder, So it's just a two D Mario game. This reminds me a little bit like we've had New Super Maribos for so long, and that was good when they made that art style back into on the DS and that would really liked it. When it hit WE, I was like, this is this. We've moved past this. I didn't get burned out until like it wasn't there two Wei games or something. There was two. There was yeah, there was two week games, and there was like a we U one and then the Luigi EU one and they were all the same. When it made it to WE, I was like, all right, this is fine. And then they did it again and I was like, all right, enough, dude, we got something else. This isn't the way to translate this. Some people thought I was insane when I complained about the Deluxe one that came to Switch, and I was like, really, guys, like this is the same thing from the NES, Like, come on, it's time. I wasn't happy about all of that stuff, and the games were just like, Okay, they got less and less, they got less and less created as they came out New Super Mara Bros. Two on the three DS had all of the coins. It's like the whole big say, one of them was literally the same thing as the one before, but they just had a thousand coins instead. Yeah, the worst part about Mary, like the thing nobody cares about Mary damn coins And there was one that was like the same. But now there's a big mushroom and you couldn't chunk through some areas. It's like, yeah, I wanted a new art style and this, you know, it's not that crazy, this new art style, but it's enough to get me excited about it. I there's a lot of like fan made stuff around that's supposed to be around the time of New Super Mario Brothers, Like what would it have looked like if they changed the art style one that I always talk about as a game called Super Mario Brothers Flashback, And I'm always like, they gotta do something like this because it's like a it's like a pixelated but like animated really well like like art style for Mario. And this kind of feels a little bit like that. I can see it maybe because the animation is nice, but also because it's just different, and that's just in my brain. I like, this is just a different I know, this is really cool. This is you can just download this game. It's just just an e XC file if you google enough. Super Mario flashback this it's very short, it's only one world. This is like Super Nintendo Mario, but mashed with some other Super Nintendo games from the day that had a lot of charm and character. This looks like if they made a Super Mario Brothers game for the Game Boy Advance. This is weirdly nostalgic for me in like weird different ways. I really like it. Yeah, I love this, but uh instead of Super Mario Wonder But it looks good and uh, it looks like a lot of the platforming is going to be a little bit puzzly, Like, um, I mean here you are grinding on rails like your son. Yeah, that was exciting. But there's other stuff like there's that weird part where he's a silhouette. Did all the animation looks so fucking sick? But there's the there's the part where you're like silhouetted and you like grow really long extendo legs and stuff. I feel like there's gonna be a lot of weird shit that goes on in this game that's gonna throw you forwards, like he's actually doing mushrooms. Yes, yeah, you're right, Yes, this is all one big LSD trip for him. Yeah. I mean it seems like two de Mario games recently have just been extremely formulaic. That's the silhouetted part. They'd been extremely formulaic, and they didn't really deviate from things you can pretty much just do in Mario Maker. But then people were making stuff in Mario Maker, and they were getting so creative with the things Nintendo would have never done with Mario. And Nintendo is probably like, oh, we should just like maybe break the rules a little bit sometimes. Yeah, and this is them breaking some rules. Yeah, I had that thought too. Like other Mario games, a very clean cut and like you know what to expect. This is just to a to a point where you can speed on it right by, like you know when to jump in advance because you know that this this set piece is coming up. But this one you have like pipes like bending and moving and coming to life, and like all these animated aspects of the world. It's going to make it really hard to actually predict or know what's going to happen in the levels, which to me is way more interesting. It looks like there's more than just your standard platform. There's the other thing. There's missiles being thrown at him, there's a there's there falling through the sky at one point, like, there's a lot of other stuff you're gonna be doing. It always has Raymand vibes to me too, and like the characterization of it all. Yeah, no, that makes a lot of sense. This is also going to have a four player co op. It looks like it has a lot of characters. So Daisy's in it. I think that's the first time Daisy's in a two D Mario game. So that means you have Mario, Luigi, Pete, Daisy, and Toad and we only see the yellow toad now. But there's also a part there's a part where Mario jumps on Yoshi, and there's a part where there's also a part where all four characters that you're that the people are playing as are Yoshi's. So does that mean you could play as a Yoshi or does that mean you get a power up where you become Yoshi. Do you or can you jump on a Yoshi as a Yoshi? Is what I want to know. So this is Wait, that was weird too, that that that was Mario on a Yoshi. But Yoshi had a weird thing on his nose. Oh no, it's like glitch glitch. I think it's because he's struggling. I think he's like getting flushed. He's getting flushed. You're right, very animated. I mean a lot of animated. Yeah, he's getting flushed. They needed to change that, yeah some way. It also looks like there's an over world, so I mean, I don't know that I could take that or leave that. Um, but yeah, I'm very excited about this. There's the part with all four Yoshi's. I wonder how that happens. I wonder if you could pick a colored Yoshi. I don't know. I don't know. How do you get different abilities with the different characters. I'd assume so with Yoshi you would have to at least get a new jump different. I think he is float jumping there. I'll say what I said in my video. I have not like Udi Mario since the Supernintender. I have paid no mind to them. Because they've been a dime a dozen. This is the first one where I was like, you know what, I might play this. It's actually looking kind of fun. Might sweeing me back around on the Mario train. There was a part also where the big flag pole at the end just goes away like he's about to hit it and it just explodes. Yeah, and I love that stuff. That subverting traditional Mario expectations. Yeah, it turns Mario on its head a little bit. Yeah, I'll say you still share lives, which is gonna cause a little bit of frustration for people. Also, the part where it was for you she's there was no float jump, so I don't know. I still don't know how that works. Uh. Something that I picked up on in this is it's way more if it feels like an evolution of Mario in a lot of ways that they're interesting voice acting into it, which is very interesting. I don't know if you've ever had that boofore. I don't think so, so we I mean vaguely in two D Mario. The most voice acting I think we've ever had in two D Mario where the game bay advance ports from the Superintendent like Mario did not shut up. Oh yeah, he didn't shut the hell up. Dull, dull, fucking well, this was I guess what I mean by voice acting is like a character who speaks normally and is kind of narrating or talking to Mario and in the two D games, because you have these flowers now that talk, but more so than just you know, little pop ups or whatever, they seem to be able to communicate what's kind of happening in the world. Um, there's a scene at the end there where this little flower is looking at a gumba just sitting and he goes, what a serene gumba? But then as you hit it, it goes, oh, well then yes, which is interesting to have something like that in a two D Mario game. So Mario games usually give him like some sort of new character as like a sidekick, because Mario doesn't talk, so like he there'll be another character like Flood or something that explains things. But this has a new character that's that companion character, but they actually talk. It's actual voice acting. It's not just you reading it. So that's cool, that's awesome. Yeah, I'm a lot more excited about this than I thought I was going to be about a two D Mario game, Like I was same, I've been wanting a two D Mario game. But I'm like, they're gonna fuck it up. They're gonna do like a They're gonna do like a new Super Mario Billers or some something dumb. But I expected it, but this looks exciting to me. It's like they're leaning almost into now that we've had a Mario movie and Mario has all this personality and character. They're almost leaning into that now, and now they feel more like they can break away from just the straight cut Mario. I mean little animations of like him jumping into the tunnel and his hat falling off and he has to grab it as he goes into the tunnel, things like that. It's just giving Mario way more character than he's ever had before. And I think they feel more free to do that now, which I love. I wonder if there's going to be more characters like why not see I feel like they might be going the route of just fucking put everybody in it. I also like when you hit enemies and it brings up like comic book marvelous awesome. Great, Yeah, that's they really nailed it with with the with the style, the stylization of this game. In New Super Mario Brothers, there's like a float jump, like if you hit the right trigger or something while you're jumping, you do a little twirl and it gives you some more hang time. This it looks like they do like a chest bump in the air, and I don't know if it gives you more hang time or what, but I saw multiple characters do that, and that seemed interesting. That's it excited. This was your direct I mean Mario Metal Gear. Yeah, really, you know, it's funny because I watched it and I kind of, you know, I had to have a mid. I was like, oh, I got Mario APG in this New Mario looks pretty good. And I went into my video kind of assuming everyone would think it's MID, and almost went to make a video like it was MID. And then I started thinking, like, was it though, or am I just not really into Mario and I. I think it's a little bit of both. I think as a presentation, I mean, we just sat here and went through it all, and we had a lot to say, but over half of it, if not sixty seventy percent of it was we didn't even really have to talk about it like a present from a presentation standpoint, I think it was a bit air, but we got some of the coolest Mario reviews we've had in a long time. Yeah, So I don't know. I think it equals out and it becomes a good direct. I think it is a good direct. I mean, yeah, there was a lot of fluff, for sure, but there always is. There always is, Yeah, I usual. I mean more often than not, the direct is not for me. More often than not. There's a lot of like RPG stuff, and I people are stoked about it, and I'm like, all right, I see where you're stoked, but I just I'm just not having a great time. This had a lot for me, and for the majority of it, I was like, this is pretty good. This seems like a pretty good direct until the end and I was like, that's sick. That's sick. I'm happy that we have that. Overall, I still think there's not really that much going on in the pipeline for Nintendo, Like they announced like thirty games or some shit, and there's there's still nothing like that groundbreaking except for two D Mario. Yeah. Yeah, you know, if I wish to be a little bit more hot. I will say that a lot of this was just remakes, and that it was remakes. For as far as what the best things were, they were all remakes, all ports, and then we got a new Mario game right at the end, So I don't know. I can definitely see people thinking that it was a bit made and not getting much out of it, But then I can obviou see people getting a lot of nostalgia and a lot of excitement out of it. I think the more and more directs we have, the more I begin to realize how they are all just opinion. It's all just your nostalgia, what you like, and one person's bad direct is another person's best direct ever. And I saw multiple people in my videos say this was their best direct they've ever done, which to me, legitimately not even being funny, is insane. I think that is an insane thing. I enjoyed some things here, but yeah, I think it's far from the best direct. But some people might, you know, this could just so happen to be the best. I mean, every single from add Too. I think it's oh, I would say, objectively pretty good. I would say, if you were to say is it good or bad? I would have to say good, I am nowhere near in the bad category. For me, I would say mid, And I think as a presentation it was a bit mid. But again, as a Mario fan, if I was one, I'd be losing the kids. I'd be so excited. You have to also look at it from the perspective that Nintendo's winding down their console right now. Also, a lot of this stuff could end up on the next Some of the stuff's coming out twenty twenty four could end up on the next consoles, right right. Um, it is surprisingly getting this much stuff on what is essentially a dying console. Yes, the um. The Mario game Super Mario Brothers Wonder comes out October twentieth. We didn't say that before, but October. Okay, something comes out in the twenty third from this event, it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter. So I mean a lot of stuff. There was a lot of third already stuff, Metal Gear. I don't know if I'm gonna play that on the Switch, but yeah, uhg RPG and Mario Brothers Wonder is really the big and and you know what, I'm gonna play Warrior Ware. It's just weird that we're getting that so soon. So you know what, We've said it all. We've said it all. Baby, you liked it. Though you liked it, it was it was good. Guy. I'm happy. Yes, I'm very happy that we're getting Mario in a two D format, so that's awesome. Overall, I'd say the direct was good. That's what i would say. Yeah, That's why one of the many reasons why I love doing this podcast with you, because we're so similar but so different, and it's nice when I kind of find something a little air and you get so excited for it and I'm so happy for you.
