The Shadows Are Watching You

True Scary Story

From strange visions and eerie dreams to unexplained appearances in the dead of night, this dark presence lingers — watching, waiting. Is it simply a manifestation of family turmoil or a sinister entity targeting them? As Natalie shares her True Scary Story, we’re left questioning whether this figure is a spectral warning or something more dangerous.

<v Speaker 1>Welcome to True Scary Story. Natalie recounts terrifying encounters with
<v Speaker 1>a shadowy figure. Is there a dark force tying these
<v Speaker 1>events together or is it all a coincidence. My name
<v Speaker 1>is Edwin and here is Natalie. It's True Scary Story.
<v Speaker 2>I'm originally from Chicago, Humble Park. My mom was a
<v Speaker 2>single mom. We lived with my grandfather. We would move
<v Speaker 2>around a lot. They didn't have the best relationship. Unfortunately,
<v Speaker 2>he had practiced black magic. When we left from Homa Park,
<v Speaker 2>we moved to a small town in a suburb close
<v Speaker 2>by my grandfather, grandma uncle. They lived upstairs. It was
<v Speaker 2>a constant arguing, that's why a lot of negative stuff
<v Speaker 2>came into the house. He would do everything in his
<v Speaker 2>power to try to get us away from my mom,
<v Speaker 2>as if he wants bad things to happen to my mom.
<v Speaker 2>We always had a weird vibe in our house. My
<v Speaker 2>older sister would constantly say, oh, there's someone here. I
<v Speaker 2>feel something. There's negative energy. I don't know what it is.
<v Speaker 2>That didn't make us feel secure, especially when we had
<v Speaker 2>spirits and negativities around us. My mom got pregnant. We
<v Speaker 2>moved in with my mom's boyfriend right next to this
<v Speaker 2>church in the area where we are. That's when the
<v Speaker 2>downfall really happened. My mom would work really late, we
<v Speaker 2>would hardly see her. One day, she called me downstairs.
<v Speaker 2>She says, she really need to talk to me. I
<v Speaker 2>was actually pregnant. I didn't tell her because of how
<v Speaker 2>young I was seventeen at the time. She's like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I had a dream that your grandpa came into my
<v Speaker 2>dream and he said, please be careful, watch your surroundings,
<v Speaker 2>be careful who you're around, who you let enter it
<v Speaker 2>to your house. And I thought, Okay, she's gonna tell
<v Speaker 2>me I'm pregnant. Then she starts crying and I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>what's the matter. I'm like, oh my God, Like she
<v Speaker 2>knows that I'm pregnant. And she says, I seen someone
<v Speaker 2>and then said someone, Like, what do you mean? And
<v Speaker 2>she says, I see in a shadow And you're the
<v Speaker 2>only person I'm telling this to. To paint out this picture.
<v Speaker 2>My mom and stepdad and little sister. They lived in
<v Speaker 2>the basement. There was just one room that was finished.
<v Speaker 2>The rest of the basement was really old and we
<v Speaker 2>had originally bought this house from an old couple who
<v Speaker 2>her husband had recently died. She felt like it was
<v Speaker 2>a man. She's like, oh, maybe it's the man's spirit.
<v Speaker 2>He's here, but why does it feel so evil? Back
<v Speaker 2>when she saw him, she was in the room holding laundry.
<v Speaker 2>She felt presence looking at her, but there was no
<v Speaker 2>one else. Everyone was in school, my stepdad was at work,
<v Speaker 2>and my little sister was like three months four months old.
<v Speaker 2>When she felt his presence, she turned over to look
<v Speaker 2>at the first door where the entrances to the basement.
<v Speaker 2>She sees the man in the black shadow. She screams
<v Speaker 2>and asks, who are you? What do you want? Immediately
<v Speaker 2>picks up my little sister because at first, she said,
<v Speaker 2>she thought someone had entered the house. Out of nowhere,
<v Speaker 2>the man leaves. My mom was like, did I imagine this?
<v Speaker 2>Am I seeing something? Am I tired? She stayed in
<v Speaker 2>the basement for like an hour. She went upstairs. She
<v Speaker 2>checked the dining room, kitchen, bathroom, everywhere. She didn't see anything.
<v Speaker 2>This was months later. It was pretty early, seven thirty
<v Speaker 2>eight in the morning. I walked downstairs, laid down, drifted
<v Speaker 2>back to sleep. Like I said, it was pretty early.
<v Speaker 2>It's really hard for me to wake up. I'm a
<v Speaker 2>very deep sleeper. Something heavy was in the presence of
<v Speaker 2>the room that I was in. I felt someone was
<v Speaker 2>watching me. I look up and there black shadow is.
<v Speaker 2>People ask me, how does he look? What is he wearing?
<v Speaker 2>It's literally nothing, he just black the shadow. I was
<v Speaker 2>so tired, I just went back to sleep. In twenty seventeen,
<v Speaker 2>we moved to a bigger house, a couple towns down
<v Speaker 2>to fit the entire family. My dog, he would constantly
<v Speaker 2>like bark at the walls or bark at the window.
<v Speaker 2>For some reason. My son, every single night he would cry.
<v Speaker 2>He would wake up cry. We would put him on
<v Speaker 2>our bed and we would find him at the bottom
<v Speaker 2>of the bed or like on the floor. I was
<v Speaker 2>slowly starting to think maybe it's the presence of my mom.
<v Speaker 2>When my sister was a couple months, my sister was
<v Speaker 2>diagnosed with a tumor in her eye. None of us
<v Speaker 2>has any genetics of having tumors or cancers or anything
<v Speaker 2>like in that nature. My mom was confused, Oh why
<v Speaker 2>did this happen to my child? My mom went to
<v Speaker 2>a tart or we'd call them, like a white witch,
<v Speaker 2>the goods kind, not the evil kind, and they had
<v Speaker 2>told her there's someone who was wishing bad upon you, you,
<v Speaker 2>your daughter, and my stepdad. So my mom went and
<v Speaker 2>did this kind of religion. I don't know what it is.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like that plays a part of why negative
<v Speaker 2>stuff happens to us, because my mom would try to
<v Speaker 2>find the easy road. If it didn't work, go to
<v Speaker 2>another religion. And I feel like my mom was allowing
<v Speaker 2>different spirits to come into our home. The last religion
<v Speaker 2>she's in, they would do sacrifices to like animals, chickens
<v Speaker 2>and goats and things like that. She would make us
<v Speaker 2>go with her. Sometimes. I would find her sometimes putting
<v Speaker 2>pictures up of her boss and lighting up a candle
<v Speaker 2>and wanting to wish bad upon him. She initiated me
<v Speaker 2>to be and this practice that she was in. I
<v Speaker 2>told her, are you sure this is holy? This is
<v Speaker 2>what this is for? So I can be closer to God?
<v Speaker 2>And she's like, yeah, this religion, this practice gets us
<v Speaker 2>closer to God. You wear like these beads around your neck,
<v Speaker 2>like different colored beads. When I moved out of her house,
<v Speaker 2>lay those bees on the table and I was not
<v Speaker 2>gonna take that with me because I'm like, I'm not
<v Speaker 2>part of it. So it was like, why are you
<v Speaker 2>haunting me or coming after me? Like you can stick
<v Speaker 2>with my mom. Eventually, my sister got better from the
<v Speaker 2>tumor in her eye, but negative energy latched onto my mom.
<v Speaker 2>When we went to a new apartment a couple times over,
<v Speaker 2>everything was fine. We never fought. My son was great.
<v Speaker 2>He was the happiest baby ever. That's when I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>maybe it is my mom because whatever someone put towards her,
<v Speaker 2>it's latched onto her. I'm gonna keep my distance. We
<v Speaker 2>moved into this apartment nearby. That's the one that I'm
<v Speaker 2>in right now. A couple of years ago, in twenty twenty,
<v Speaker 2>my husband decided to go with his best friend to Vegas.
<v Speaker 2>It was just gonna be me and my two kids.
<v Speaker 2>I asked my sister if she can stay, you know,
<v Speaker 2>and help me. I put one to sleep in his
<v Speaker 2>room and one to sleep in mind. My sister tells me, oh,
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna go run do something. This was at nine
<v Speaker 2>thirty ten o'clock at night. I told her wake me
<v Speaker 2>up when you get back so I can sleep with
<v Speaker 2>the baby. And she says, okay, fine, I'll see you.
<v Speaker 2>Give me your keys. Blah blah bah okay. I fell
<v Speaker 2>asleep and woke up in my dream. I look up.
<v Speaker 2>That's exactly how I left it. The TV's on, my
<v Speaker 2>son's next to me. My eyes are adjusting, and I
<v Speaker 2>see the shadow man. It's been forever since I seen him.
<v Speaker 2>In seconds, he was from the door right next to
<v Speaker 2>my shoulder, and he grabbed my shoulder. I start yelling
<v Speaker 2>and screaming. I can feel it in my body that
<v Speaker 2>I'm screaming. My sister wakes me up and it's her.
<v Speaker 2>She was so scared. Shit, are you okay, calm down,
<v Speaker 2>it's me. I told her. I'm like, oh, there was
<v Speaker 2>a man by the door. He was in my dream,
<v Speaker 2>standing right there looking at me, and then he grabbed me.
<v Speaker 2>And she was like, oh, that's why you screamed. I
<v Speaker 2>barely touched you. I was tapping your shoulder for a
<v Speaker 2>good minute, calling your name. I asked her, are you
<v Speaker 2>sure you didn't grab me. She's like, no, I was
<v Speaker 2>just tapping you, like with my hand. I sleep with
<v Speaker 2>my oldest son, he has special needs, and my husband
<v Speaker 2>sleeps literally just across the room for me to sleep
<v Speaker 2>with my youngest son. A couple of weeks ago, we
<v Speaker 2>were talking the light was on. The fan was on high,
<v Speaker 2>so I told him he turned down the fan. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know why you have the fan so high. Turn
<v Speaker 2>it down and turn off the light before you leave.
<v Speaker 2>He says, okay, Vive, turns out the fan, turns off
<v Speaker 2>the light. I love you. I'll see you to orow morning. Okay.
<v Speaker 2>From there, I don't even remember going to sleep. I
<v Speaker 2>am in my dream. I see my husband walking out
<v Speaker 2>of the door. I don't see his face, just in the
<v Speaker 2>back of his head and his body leaving the door.
<v Speaker 2>I'm screaming, babe, you sgrat to turn off the light.
<v Speaker 2>And then something immediately clicks in my head. Wait, this
<v Speaker 2>already happened. I look up and the minute I look
<v Speaker 2>up to the light, it turns off on its own.
<v Speaker 2>The black shadow is standing inches away from me. I
<v Speaker 2>grabbed the phone, turn on the flashlight, and I'm pointing
<v Speaker 2>to his face. It's all black. He slowly backs up
<v Speaker 2>to the corner. I jump up, turn on the light
<v Speaker 2>from the string. He's gone.
<v Speaker 1>Now.
<v Speaker 2>I wake up fully and I'm standing in real life.
<v Speaker 2>Turned on my hand on the spring to turn on
<v Speaker 2>the light. With my phone in my hand, with the
<v Speaker 2>flashlight on, I'm looking around. I'm like, where did he go?
<v Speaker 2>Where did he go? My son sounds sleep. I turned
<v Speaker 2>off the light quickly again, took my phone, went to
<v Speaker 2>the other room. The minute I opened the door, he
<v Speaker 2>wakes up and I'm like, did you hear me calling you?
<v Speaker 2>And he's like, oh, I thought that was a dream.
<v Speaker 2>I swore I heard you saying babe. But I felt
<v Speaker 2>like I was dreaming because I was falling asleep. So
<v Speaker 2>I told my mother in law the next day. She's
<v Speaker 2>a really religious person, and she's like, you really need
<v Speaker 2>to pray. My sister already told me that she had
<v Speaker 2>an experience with this shadow man. Also, this is another
<v Speaker 2>sister that experienced it in my house. It's almost the
<v Speaker 2>same experience. She was laying in the couch in my
<v Speaker 2>living room. She felt something watching her. When she turned around,
<v Speaker 2>the man was by the door looking at her. She
<v Speaker 2>just turned back around and went back to sleep. When
<v Speaker 2>I would talk to my husband about this, he asked,
<v Speaker 2>what if it's your grandpa who passed away. I considered
<v Speaker 2>him as a father. It can't be him because if
<v Speaker 2>it was him, why would my grandpa hide his face?
<v Speaker 2>What does he want? I want to see? Who this is?
<v Speaker 2>Why does this person keep bothering us? It doesn't hurt us,
<v Speaker 2>It just watches us. That's the disturbing part. Why are
<v Speaker 2>you watching us? What are you trying to gain from
<v Speaker 2>watching us? I hope he doesn't bother my kids. I
<v Speaker 2>wouldn't want my kids to go through that and be scared.
<v Speaker 2>They do have their moments where they're like, I don't
<v Speaker 2>want to go to the living room unless you turn
<v Speaker 2>on the light. My oldest son, if I get up
<v Speaker 2>to use the bathroom, or if I get up to
<v Speaker 2>get ready, he runs to my side, like he could
<v Speaker 2>not stay by himself. He'll run to the next room
<v Speaker 2>to be with my son, my other son, because he
<v Speaker 2>would not be by himself. I don't want them to
<v Speaker 2>experience anything.

<v Speaker 2>wasn't allowing me to send it. I filled out the form,
<v Speaker 2>but then the whole EMO turns blank, like it's still
<v Speaker 2>blank to this day. So my husband know my baby
<v Speaker 2>doesn't want to send. He's like, oh, I was trying
<v Speaker 2>to tell you something. The man doesn't want you to
<v Speaker 2>expose him.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you very much for listening. Keep it scary everyone,
