00:00:12 Speaker 1: That's a really fucking movie, oldrad, thank you for. 00:00:15 Speaker 2: Telling us that. Oh sorry, good morning, and welcome to a recap of day what was it? 00:00:22 Speaker 3: Day four? Yesterday? 00:00:24 Speaker 1: Day four, but second route, first day. 00:00:26 Speaker 3: So it's still so confusing. 00:00:28 Speaker 2: Anyway, welcome to the Renee Stoves Tennis Podcast with my buddy Andrea Pekovic, and we're ready to give it a good old review of yesterday's play. Another incredible bunch of matches, oh my god, and some huge upsets, some aha moments, I call them when it comes to some sixteen year olds doing some damage on the WTA two. I mean, it's crazy how many There was three sixteen year olds that were left in the drawer at the astral Open as of yesterday's But anyway, let's start with mirror on Hreva just absolutely smoked on Sheber. 00:01:03 Speaker 3: What are your thoughts on that. 00:01:04 Speaker 4: I was so impressed because I made after she had that run in Madrid and every she was on everyone's raider, so charming, so natural. We'd all remember the Andy Murray moment where she's. 00:01:15 Speaker 3: Like, he's so cute, Like really, girl, I think. 00:01:20 Speaker 1: I also like him. 00:01:21 Speaker 2: I also, but the way she said it was just your type he doesn't have like scraggly hair. Actually always I always like, I always liked him, but that was just such a charming moment. And so I made an effort to go out at the French Open in the Qualities to see her there. She qualified that the French Open, and I thought, man, this girl is really good, but she doesn't have that punch, you know, because she was so solid, such a great competitive mind, great back, and really great surf. 00:01:48 Speaker 3: Like very nice motion. 00:01:52 Speaker 4: Yeah, the second serf is really good as well. It's like has a lot of cake, it's fast, you can't really attack. And I was like, oh, she's really good, but she to play. And this is to be fair, it's not like I'm saying, oh she can't you know, she's not that good. She was fifteen. 00:02:06 Speaker 1: What I was saying was like, I wonder if Martin is at fifteen. 00:02:10 Speaker 4: No, that's not but I just in my mind I was like, oh, if she plays against the Saballenca or a Rebeccena or a Sciantec, I wonder if she can hang with them, because she was just lacking that punch. And so yesterday, and mind you, this is a few months later. This is not like three years later. She was hitting the living daylight out of the bar. I was. 00:02:32 Speaker 1: So thrown away. I was like, what is thrown away or blown away? Blown away? 00:02:39 Speaker 3: English is not good? 00:02:40 Speaker 4: And no, I was so blown away because an improvement of this category and such short amount of time from fifteen to sixteen was absolutely mind blowing. And she still had the consistency, she still had the amazing footwork, she still had the great serf. 00:02:56 Speaker 1: But now she can hit a winner. Now she can. She was dominant. 00:03:01 Speaker 2: She's so quick as well, and she ran down that one drop shot that ons here that nobody would have gotten to. Well, maybe a couple of players would have gotten to, but she hauled us up there. And I was like, damn, this girl can move. So she was just too good, She was too creative, She was you know anytime. 00:03:15 Speaker 3: But but can I just say, yeah, that's. 00:03:17 Speaker 1: What I wanted. 00:03:19 Speaker 3: Yes, what is the minister of misery these days? And I don't know what's going on with her? 00:03:25 Speaker 2: I mean we got a little bit of an insight into you know, what happened at Wimbledon and why she didn't want you know, why she wanted to win so badly and have a family and all that sort of stuff. 00:03:33 Speaker 3: And that's all, okay. 00:03:34 Speaker 2: We know now, but if you're going to continue to play, you have got to find joy in what you're doing. You've got to have passion for what you do. And I see ans out there, and I don't know if it's just she's got the weight of the world on her shoulders. I don't know what's going on, but she looks fucking miserable. 00:03:50 Speaker 3: And it's got a change. 00:03:51 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:03:51 Speaker 2: I mean, if I was in her coaching bux, honestly, I'd be like, if you don't show joy on the tennis colle from the get go, from the first. 00:03:58 Speaker 3: Point, I can't work with you anymore. 00:04:00 Speaker 2: Like you've got to sometimes put that onus on the player because you know, unfortunately these coaches get paid. 00:04:06 Speaker 3: By that player and it is their livelihood. 00:04:09 Speaker 2: I get it all, but you gotta be to the person that says I'm done. 00:04:13 Speaker 3: If this doesn't. 00:04:14 Speaker 4: Change, well, I will say not. Every player needs to have joy. Like you wouldn't see joy on my face when I was playing, or you wouldn't necessarily see joy. 00:04:24 Speaker 2: But you're one hundred percent it's competitive. What I see on you and Serena is passion and competitiveness to not want to fucking lose yes with an and so so someone like you is out there and like you're grinding away and trying to hit winners everywhere, and it's like, oh, I see the passion of what you're trying to do. 00:04:41 Speaker 3: I don't see passion. I don't see anything from. 00:04:44 Speaker 4: Once well, and that's the I think that the problem with her are two things. 00:04:48 Speaker 1: One it's not only that she looks. 00:04:52 Speaker 4: In like a competitive manner tense like a lot of other players do, like Djokovic for example, she looks miserable, so that's a big difference. 00:05:00 Speaker 1: And the other thing is yeah, right now, And the other thing is with aunts. 00:05:05 Speaker 4: She and Carlos Alcaraz for me, are in the category they need to have fun and they need to play the game to play well, like not everyone is. Like there's some people some players need to work the game to play well, but some players need to play the game to fail. And exactly Roger, Carlos Alcaraz and Jaburt and you saw, I don't know if you saw the interview with Sascha Zverev at the French Open when he beat actually Francis Tiafo is the same one when he beat Francis Tafo. He gave an interview in the in the German media and they asked him like, what was your game plan today? And he was like, honestly, just to suck out the joy of life. I did not want him to have fun. I did not want him to engage with the crowd. I did not want him to have any glimpses of joy for the game and for the occasion and for being on center card. And I think this is exactly how you can That's why Carlos has problems with Novak, you know, and against Veref too, because these type of players, they need to feel the joint, they need to feel the crowd, and it's just this type of player that needs it and Aunts is so far away from that right now. And I don't know why that is. What did you think of her game specifically? Did you do you think it's just mentally or do you think there's also something lacking in her game? Well? 00:06:19 Speaker 2: I think that I think the joy and passion for having fun out there and competing is not there, and that affects the footwork, and she was horrible with the footwork, Like the back she missed so many backhands, just regular easy backhands, mid court ish or just inside the baseline into the net. 00:06:36 Speaker 3: I was like, the hell, like, there's. 00:06:39 Speaker 2: Just there's nothing there. It's not serving well all of the things. And I know she's healthy. I mean I spoke to her coach a couple of days ago and she was like, you know, she's happy, she's healthy, you know, and when she's healthy, she's happy. 00:06:49 Speaker 3: And I'm like, well, okay, great. 00:06:51 Speaker 2: That was before her first round and then she walked on the court and I was like, she doesn't look happy. She still looks miserable. That was against a girl that had never played a Grand Slam match in her life. That should have been time for her to find her joy again, you know, to play against somebody that she knows she's going to beat if she plays half decent. Anyway, but she's out of the drawer and mirror Andreva. On the other hand, she is without question a future top tenor there's no question can she win a Slam? I think so she's sixteen for fox sake, I mean, honestly, so anyway, I think she's a superstar. And you know what, if I'm doesn't want to have the passion, you got a sixteen year old. 00:07:24 Speaker 3: They're gone, I got it. Yeah, I'm gonna take it well. 00:07:27 Speaker 4: And for me, just the most mind blowing thing is the improvement this little of the time. 00:07:33 Speaker 3: Yeah, and strong and she's strong. 00:07:35 Speaker 2: It's going to give a shout out to Alex Demonor, who went out there and we talked about Naldi. You're a guy to watch for this year. Oh my god, I was courtside for that match. 00:07:44 Speaker 4: Alex Dimanor is playing fucking well, really unlocked another level. 00:07:49 Speaker 2: It's unbelievable how well he's playing. Like, he is not missing, he is going. 00:07:53 Speaker 3: After the ball. 00:07:54 Speaker 1: That's exactly. 00:07:55 Speaker 3: Yeah, he's always been a backboy. 00:07:57 Speaker 1: Yes he's going. 00:07:59 Speaker 4: Yes, Yes, he's got a bit more pop on his surf withne so good. 00:08:03 Speaker 2: Like, oh, he looked great and sixty three six love six to three. I mean he just smoked a Naldi. He Analdi on the other hand, needs my back end volly His back in volley is so bad. He missed like ten backendvollies yesterday. That was so easy, and I was like, oh dude, you gotta work on that. Change your grip everything. 00:08:20 Speaker 4: Anyway, Ah well, I have the best coaching for that because I didn't have a great back and don't come to the net. 00:08:26 Speaker 3: Well, that's a problem. 00:08:28 Speaker 2: Saberlenka beat the younger Throughvertova yesterday. 00:08:31 Speaker 3: For Autova of course got through qualifying. What is she fifteen? 00:08:34 Speaker 2: Oh no, she's sixty's lord anyway, Sablenka just smoked her. 00:08:38 Speaker 3: She's looking great, getting through the draw easily. 00:08:41 Speaker 2: Hadaj Maya won her match against Corneva, another young player who of course. 00:08:47 Speaker 3: Won the Australian Open Juniors last year beating Mirror Andreva. 00:08:51 Speaker 2: So you know they're still they're all getting through the draws and stuff. But Hadaj Maya was way too good. And can we talk about Novak Djokovic, Oh my god, he was. He was very fortunate last night to not be down two sets to one. 00:09:04 Speaker 3: Now I didn't say he was very. 00:09:05 Speaker 2: Fortunate to win, because I know he would have probably, but to not be down two sets to one because Alex Properin had that rat, he had that set on his racket. 00:09:15 Speaker 1: Yeah, yesterday love forty. 00:09:17 Speaker 2: Love forty, and he played the dumbest backhand down the line at fifteen forty. And Jim Couriers said a great thing on on the coverage. He said, why are you trying to hear you don't have your kill shot, be the shot that's not your kill shot, right, In other words, go for that shot down the line with your forehand, with your back hand, you mean like not, don't redline your weekend. 00:09:42 Speaker 3: Basically, yes, And that's what he did yesterday. 00:09:44 Speaker 2: He obviously panicked, you know, and tried to go for the cheap backhand down the line. I don't know why, and he missed it by quite a significant I mean, one thing, if you missed it by an inch, but he missed it by oh mile. And then I think Novak is so smart and so seasoned he probably went, oh, he's himself, I've got this, and he did. He won that tie break seven four, and you could tell that Novak. There's no question Novak's under the weather. Yeah, he looks sick. 00:10:08 Speaker 3: I said it the other day when he has a cold. 00:10:10 Speaker 2: Or I watched him do a press conference a couple of days ago and I went, oh, he sounds sick. And everyone's like, what are you talking about, and I said, listen to him. So anyway, there's no question he's not one hundred percent, which is why he's lucky not to go. 00:10:21 Speaker 3: Down two sets. 00:10:22 Speaker 2: Storm because the physicality of coming back from that with the Aussie crowd, like getting behind Popham and prop them can play. 00:10:28 Speaker 3: He doesn't give you a lot. 00:10:29 Speaker 2: I mean, he's got a huge, big fourhand, but in the end he finds the way. 00:10:34 Speaker 4: He always finds a way under the weather, over the weather. And you said something interesting to me. 00:10:40 Speaker 1: I came back. 00:10:41 Speaker 4: I had the last match of the day and I came back at two am, and the first thing you said to me, oh my god. Today was the first day that I thought, Jennison I was going to win this tournament. Are you still standing behind this? And the next morning, you know, sometimes in the middle of the night you say. 00:10:58 Speaker 1: Things you don't really mean. 00:11:00 Speaker 2: You say things the night before if you've had too many drinks, which I had not had. 00:11:03 Speaker 3: But I will say, Yanick Sinner looks so good yesterday. 00:11:06 Speaker 2: And I know he's playing a qualifier, okay, but he looked so good. And the freshness that he must feel going into the next rounds. And then you've got Novak who's really struggling. But Novak's done this before, I know, I know, calm down, you know, Novak I picked to win. 00:11:22 Speaker 3: This tournament by a long shot. 00:11:24 Speaker 2: But then I was like, yesterday, I was like, if Alex Poprin can take a set and almost two sets off of Novak, and then you know the five setter in the first round, and you said it, people are starting to say, maybe I can beat him. 00:11:38 Speaker 3: I don't know, but to. 00:11:39 Speaker 2: Do it over five sets is a whole different story. But Yannick knows he can beat Novak. He beat him twice in the space of three weeks last year. Yes, best the three, but still I just think Yanick Sinner, all of a sudden, has just let everybody know I can. I think I could win this tournament only because Novak's not looking at his best. 00:11:57 Speaker 3: Long way to go, I know, but Yannick looked old last night. 00:12:01 Speaker 2: Cocoa Goff got through in straight sets, but it was a battle in the first set, and dol Hide really should have won that first set. 00:12:07 Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't see that. I was calling match at the same time. 00:12:10 Speaker 4: I was calling actually the Sigermond and storm Hunter match at that time. But I just saw that Coco was up four to one and forty fifteen to go up five to one, and then all of a sudden, it was five hours and. 00:12:20 Speaker 2: It really could have flipped and Caroline had an opportunity when that first set, But oh that's Coca looked like to you play wise, scratchy, Yeah, fourhands scratchy, serve is okay? Back in as always Yeah. 00:12:32 Speaker 4: Second, So you not the US series Cocoa Gough or not the Washington Cocoa goth okay that I saw, and not the Cincinnati so much. 00:12:43 Speaker 3: But here's the thing, it doesn't matter because she's winning. 00:12:46 Speaker 2: And Coco has said often, you know, in the post match interviews, including with me, she said, I don't I know I'm winning with my game B and that is huge, as you know, Petco, like, if you're not at your best and you're still winning, it kind of feels good that you're getting through. Knowing that, and Moran deeper into the tournament, she goes, she's only going to get better and her draw is pretty good, you know what I mean. So I think she's going to face these types of players and I think she's going to find a way to win. And then when she gets in the semis and finals, then we're going to see where she's really at because she will play Sevealan KF Sevalanka gets to the semifinals. 00:13:18 Speaker 4: Well just one word on the past Thompson, because I called a possible upset there. 00:13:25 Speaker 1: I was wrong. I admit it. Shame on me, shame, shame, shame. 00:13:29 Speaker 3: I did too. 00:13:30 Speaker 4: I thought that John could win that match and he kind of choked, did choke. It felt like he thought too that he could win and he. 00:13:37 Speaker 3: Just that second set eight six in the time break. 00:13:39 Speaker 4: But it has to see yes, But I have to say one thing. The second the third set, sorry, that's steph one six to two. He was playing so good and when you watch him at his best, you're like, how is this guy not a consistent top three for the past five years? 00:13:55 Speaker 3: He is so good. 00:13:56 Speaker 4: The way he moves up to his forehand and takes the balls on the rise as the back end is dodgy, okay, but when he's confident, he hits through it. He plays the size and he's the guy right now who plays the best at the net. He's so good at the Yeah, he's so good, and that would be the extra he is, but it's not part of his game. 00:14:15 Speaker 1: But he can do it when he needs to be. 00:14:16 Speaker 4: Saw it against Madia dev because he knows he's not going to play five hundred times back and forth. So he has to come forward, and he did it. But with Steph, it's part of his game and that's what's so beautiful to see. And that could be And you know how every player has to have a bass time, but to be a champion, you need something extra, and I feel like Steph's extra could be that netplay if he just got everything else under control. 00:14:38 Speaker 1: But I think that netplay could be. 00:14:39 Speaker 4: The little bit of extra to win big tournaments and be a champion. 00:14:43 Speaker 2: When you want to come into the net and win matches from there, you have to be calm. 00:14:47 Speaker 3: You have to be calm. 00:14:48 Speaker 1: You have to be calm. 00:14:49 Speaker 2: You can to see the ball and to have the finesse to hit the right volley with the hands or the knifing it. 00:14:57 Speaker 3: And so I think he's anxiety. And he has anxiety out there. You see it, and he walks faster, he walks. 00:15:02 Speaker 2: Slower, and the dad yelling at him is like, oh my god, there's so much anxiety when I watch him play. If he has that, he's not gonna win against the Novaks, et cetera, because they're going to make him play one more volume. 00:15:13 Speaker 4: Well, I'm just a little side for the Steph fans, he went back to his old serf. So in case anyone was wondering, I said, the living hell was going on. 00:15:22 Speaker 1: He went back to his old surf. 00:15:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, but I saw him bring his foot up for a second serve. 00:15:26 Speaker 4: Yes, yes, me too a few times on the second serf, but on the first surf he was back to that. 00:15:31 Speaker 2: Anyway, Avanessian, you called that match against Maria Sakari. 00:15:36 Speaker 3: Sakary just sucks in Grand slams. What is happening? 00:15:40 Speaker 4: I will say avan is a very very dangerous player. See, she is a counter punches. She takes the ball up the line so seamlessly, and Maria and similar to Steph honestly, because she has so much anxiety, she just couldn't see those down the lines like we would call him. And then it's always easy from the booths, you know, there is nothing to lose. But we would see her teeing up for like, oh, every time she had a shot when she would go up the line, and Maria was always caught off guard. And then another thing. Game plan wise, she's not good. And I think it's not because she's not good in general. I think it's because she loses clarity when she panics. And the thing was she was hitting the ball. Okay, she didn't play a terrible match, but she was hitting everything through the chord. She never opened up angles, and Avanisian loves to move on one side line side to side. The moment zack Curi managed to hit a bit of a spin where she had to move out, or hit a bit of an angle where she moved it in the moment, Avanisian had to leave that perfect line for her. Yes, she either got an unforced error or she got a short one that she could attack, but she just hit through the chord. And then, of course it seems like your opponent is playing the best tennis of her life because you're playing right into her strength. And this lack of clarity is just something she needs to solve if she wants to play well at Major's Again. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: She was not gonna have like she's gonna have continued like a clarity because she loses her shit, you know, and she's like yelling at Tom. 00:17:04 Speaker 3: Liked stop just stop. Just I mean, I'm like, what is going on? 00:17:09 Speaker 2: You cannot be yelling yelling at your coach on the sideline from your chair. I mean, it's one thing if you're down close to him on the baseline, like we see rebarking and sometimes yell at it, spray at her coach like okay, shut the hell up, like that's sort of not normal, not good, but normal, like you understand. But she's at her chair yelling all the way over the other side of the court, down the other end to tell the coach to shut up. Like, girl, yeah, you either got to get a new coach in a whole new coaching teams. Because I can tell you right now, if I was coaching her, I'd get the fuck up and walk out because I'm like, I'm sorry, these are the things that I'm telling you need to get better at. 00:17:51 Speaker 3: I think she needs to slice her backhand a lot more. 00:17:53 Speaker 2: I think she can do it, but she has to improve it because when you go slice down the line, there's so many ways that she can actually improve and use her athleticism. Talk about coming into the net, she should be coming into that a little bit. 00:18:05 Speaker 3: More, using your speed, using your athletic ability. 00:18:07 Speaker 2: So a lot of girls don't like to come into the net too, because well, first of all, they can't bolly, but also they don't want to get lobbed. You know a lot of girls don't move well back for a lob. She can move, so you know, there's so many little nuances, and make the clarity clear to her on the court how to play a match, and if you can't, then tell her, for example, watch the balls down the line in a clarity way and in a calm way, in a non toxic way. 00:18:32 Speaker 3: It's never going to change. Well, when you have the opportunity to do that. Now, you could have her come over and be like, listen, you're playing great. 00:18:38 Speaker 2: When she has an easy bought just cover the line okay, and then you go okay, you take it in and then you go play. But when she's so hectic and telling you to shut the fuck up, it's never gonna work. 00:18:47 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:18:48 Speaker 4: Well, I will say for her that she, as I mentioned before, she didn't play terrible. 00:18:53 Speaker 1: Her shots were okay, like she was. 00:18:55 Speaker 4: She didn't really get through with the surf, but that again is the same thing. In the end, she did it better. She started serving that that slice wide a bit more. But she was hitting the ball really well, like strong and hard and serving one hundred and eighty k's an hour. But as I said, the girl stands far behind, so it was all into her strength. 00:19:10 Speaker 1: And that's what I mean. 00:19:12 Speaker 4: Serena is now a bad example because she's the best of all time on the women's side that we had. 00:19:16 Speaker 1: But I think these maybe Coco is a good example, right. She is good in adapting, she's good and like, ah, I'm not playing this is not working. 00:19:25 Speaker 4: Let's try something else, Let's try and play the ball high. 00:19:28 Speaker 1: And Maria just sticks with her thing. 00:19:31 Speaker 4: And then I think to her, it felt yesterday like the other girl was playing the match of her life, and to a. 00:19:36 Speaker 1: Certain extent she was. 00:19:37 Speaker 4: But Maria didn't see that she had a lot of tools in her back because she was not hitting the ball. You know, sometimes you see somebody's not feeling the ball and then you can do nothing you can do. You can maybe run and put the ball in and help the other one, you know, sacrifices herself, that's what you can do. But she was feeling the ball. Well, you could see that she was feeling good about her tennis. It was just that she felt like she couldn't hit through the girl and she had no other way to be. 00:20:01 Speaker 2: So many unforced errors on basic shots. 00:20:04 Speaker 4: Stuff towards it was always starting to herself right, but it was always like the twelfth shot, right, It's not like she. 00:20:11 Speaker 3: Missed a couple in the end. 00:20:13 Speaker 1: That was terrible. 00:20:15 Speaker 2: The girls serving and she's like missing the return. I'm like at thirty all to break. 00:20:18 Speaker 3: Back like that is bad. 00:20:20 Speaker 4: And also that's what we kept saying that in the booth, the girl like she has a great game, but the one weakness in her game as her serf. She was thirty serving one hundred and forty ks an hour first serf. Yeah, that is seventy five miles as a professional tennis pot. Yes, and Maria just and this just comes to tell you, like how stuck in her waistep she gets. Because Maria almost up until the end returned on her same normal return position that she has when she plays a rebuccina that serves two hundred miles an hour, you know, and so you have to make adjustments the other Just because it's a first serf doesn't mean it's good. She's just it's a nick lester who I call the match but said it's just the point starter. There was such a great phrase, because that's what it is. The girl wants to run, get into the long rally and then take your pace and move it up the line. That's her game, that's her whole thing. And Maria gave her exactly that over and over and over again. Yeah. 00:21:14 Speaker 2: Well, if you can't think clearly, I mean, you know my rule, my three seas composure. Okay, if you have composure, you can have clarity. When you have clarity, then you have to have commitment. The three seas. That's the low bottom line. And she doesn't have the three seas and that's going to cost her going forward. 00:21:32 Speaker 4: And now, Renee, can you take the Ben Shelton one by her own? 00:21:36 Speaker 1: Because I have to get ready. I have to go. 00:21:37 Speaker 3: Oh, come on, Ben Shelton looked a little bit up and down. You can do this. I want to talk about tim of Fever. 00:21:43 Speaker 2: Okay, great upset over Wasniyaki wasn'eyko was. 00:21:46 Speaker 3: Upset and to love, but Tim of Fever was in the match. She just didn't know it because she's so young and inexperienced. She was losing her mind. Her a coach. 00:21:53 Speaker 2: She was telling him this and that back chatting in the first set, and I was like almost every game and she's bitching and complaining only. 00:22:01 Speaker 3: Because she's young and inexperienced. 00:22:03 Speaker 2: And then you could see her maybe at too love just go oh fuck it, yeah, just start complaining. And she managed to get back into the mauch and in the third set she was by far the better player. 00:22:12 Speaker 3: She out hit was Niyaki. She was as patient as was Niyaki. 00:22:17 Speaker 1: She was incredible. 00:22:18 Speaker 3: Oh my god, she was serving. 00:22:19 Speaker 2: Well like this kid came to play in the end, and at twenty years of age was Niyaki. The way she did coming back and getting through qualifying. Now this is five matches and she's played. She's a good player. 00:22:30 Speaker 3: It reminds me a little bit of put in Saber. 00:22:33 Speaker 1: She's the same, like. 00:22:34 Speaker 3: I literally say more on. 00:22:36 Speaker 4: It on the forehand side because put in her legs to kind of spin it. But I called her match against Corney, her first round match. 00:22:43 Speaker 1: I called that and. 00:22:44 Speaker 4: Somebody said to me, oh, man, there are so many young kids who are now in the second round. 00:22:47 Speaker 1: I don't even know them. And I was like, this tim a favor. She can play. 00:22:50 Speaker 3: She's really good. 00:22:51 Speaker 2: The one thing that every person that I spoke to talk to about her because I was. 00:22:54 Speaker 3: Doing the match, I want to know a little bit more about her. They're like, oh, she's a fighter, yeah. 00:22:58 Speaker 2: Oho, that's what locker room reputation follows you everywhere, and hers is She's a fighter and she showed it yesterday. 00:23:04 Speaker 3: Ben Shelton looked awesome. 00:23:06 Speaker 2: Alisha Parks upset over Layla Fernandez. 00:23:09 Speaker 3: Alisha now will play Cocoa Goff. 00:23:12 Speaker 4: The two young Americans, and Alicia Parks and Cocoa GoF have the two fastest serf in the tournament. 00:23:18 Speaker 3: Does surprise me? I can tell you. 00:23:21 Speaker 2: Alicia Parks is one of Serena's hitting partners before the US Open, in her last US Open, and she was fucking clocking. 00:23:28 Speaker 3: The serf so big. I looked at like, where the hell is this girl from? She was serving harder than Serena. 00:23:34 Speaker 1: Where is she from? 00:23:35 Speaker 3: She's from Florida, I think, I believe. 00:23:37 Speaker 1: But anyway, what do they grow there that you can surf like this? I should have grown up? 00:23:41 Speaker 3: I know you should have, Alex. 00:23:42 Speaker 2: I mean, Rublev looked great against you Banks, and he's looking great. 00:23:46 Speaker 3: Taylor Fritz looked great yesterday. 00:23:47 Speaker 2: And Francis Ta all the Americans is out to Marshak. 00:23:53 Speaker 3: So how you say it? 00:23:54 Speaker 4: March I think Marchek is a man cat in Serbian I don't know. 00:24:01 Speaker 1: If it's the same, and. 00:24:02 Speaker 3: Check how there would a man cat a male cat. He was not a you know what yesterday he played. 00:24:08 Speaker 1: He was not a small cat. He was a man. 00:24:10 Speaker 3: He was a man. But he looked I will just saying. 00:24:15 Speaker 4: I will say one thing before I really have to get ready, similar to Anabur doesn't look as joyous on court anymore. It doesn't look like he's enjoying playing the game anymore. I don't know what it is, do you know. 00:24:27 Speaker 3: Maybe not winning anymore. I don't know. I don't know what's going. 00:24:30 Speaker 2: On, but. 00:24:31 Speaker 4: It doesn't look as happy to be on core. You know how entertaining is and how charismatic. I feel like some of the charisma has not like all of it. You still love to watch him and you still see him in the hall way laughing, but it just seems like something is burdening. 00:24:46 Speaker 1: Him a little bit. 00:24:47 Speaker 3: It's called expectation, That's what I think it is. 00:24:51 Speaker 2: But anyway, Taylor looked great and I just want to write at Marta Costup played an unreal match yesterday want ten six and a third set tybroke against Mertants. That was great to see. 00:25:00 Speaker 3: And Caroline Garcia just proved once again. 00:25:03 Speaker 2: Why she can't be a top ten player for more than two months? 00:25:08 Speaker 3: Plays the match of her life. 00:25:10 Speaker 2: Against Naomi Osaka, serves out of her fucking mind like she's Serena Williams goes out and loses too. 00:25:16 Speaker 3: Freck from Poland who is a decent player. 00:25:19 Speaker 4: She's a decent player, but she really yeah, she too is a counterpuncha so she uses the pace of Garcia, but she got broken so many times. And girlfriend was serving twenty aces against Namio, so fourteen of that. 00:25:32 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, in Naomi, it's not a bad returning. 00:25:34 Speaker 2: I mean, crazy Paula Badosa looked great. She smoked Paplachenkova two and three. It's nice to see Paula back, Yeah, I mean, and that's a great win. Seb card again and Amanda A Nissa Mova. I just want to throw that name out there because no one is talking about her. Look, she needs to get better. I think she'd be the first to say that she needs more matches. But fuck me, I tak is there a girl that hits the ball more pure? 00:25:59 Speaker 3: I know? 00:25:59 Speaker 4: I mean, it's I played and I'm just gonna tell the story and then I really have to go as I've been saying this entire time, I lost the worst set I ever lost to somebody where I really thought I was playing okay and I had no chance. Was against against Samanda and Lisimoma and but homebook on grass, which is her best surface arguably, and I was playing really well, I thought, and I lost six to one and the one game I was lucky, lucky to hold sir, and the winners were just singing past me, like, and I was almost crying. I never cried during matches. I cry after matches all the time, but I never cried. I was almost crying because I didn't know what to do. Needless to say, a year later, I retired because I was like. 00:26:43 Speaker 2: This new breed of players, did you are you the one that put her into semi retirement for six months? 00:26:48 Speaker 3: But I think it's great what she did. 00:26:50 Speaker 2: She went away from the game because she wasn't happy like on she both probably needs to do, and she found her joy again. 00:26:55 Speaker 3: I mean, before you go. 00:26:57 Speaker 2: Before she served out the match the other day, she started smiling because the crowd were going crazy and she was just like, oh, this feels great. And I talked to her about it and she was just like started laughing and then she said, oh girl, get it together, Like what if you lose this point. 00:27:11 Speaker 3: Lose the match, you know. 00:27:12 Speaker 2: But to see the joy on her face when she went to surf for the match the other day, not the second round, it was the first round was against sam Sonova, was unbelievable and it was so nice, you know, to see a young kid who's kind of gone through a little bit up and down lost her father. We don't talk about that enough and how much that would have affected her to come back out now and be playing the tennis she is. I'm so happy that she's back because she to me, I said years ago when she was doing well, she can win a Grand Slam. 00:27:38 Speaker 3: There's no doubt about it. Anyway. All right, guys, that's a wrap up. I know there's a lot more matches hatching off. One atcha very one Kadjikova one. It's all looking good. 00:27:47 Speaker 2: We cannot wait for today's play because Eager Chiontek is back on the court today against oh just Danielle Collins. 00:27:54 Speaker 3: I mean, god damn. 00:27:55 Speaker 2: She has some unbelievably tough drawers over the last couple of years. But anyway, there's so much more on the cards. We'll see what happens. Thanks for joining us today. Hey see you tomorrow. How do you say, Listen to you tomorrow, Morgan Morgan cheese, cheese, Bye guys, Thanks again,
