<v Speaker 1>use AI to edit. It saves you so much time.
<v Speaker 1>I tried AI and it was shit. It took me
<v Speaker 1>the longer to edit with it because I'm going through it.
<v Speaker 1>I had to fix the problems a It's just easy
<v Speaker 1>for to do it myself, Okay, I Man.
<v Speaker 3>We tend to sort of whenever we talk about AI
<v Speaker 3>on this on the show or any of our shows,
<v Speaker 3>it tends to be kind of like, ah, we're worried
<v Speaker 3>or FAI. And I get the feeling that the tide
<v Speaker 3>is turning in a lot of ways. I think a
<v Speaker 3>lot of people are kind of like whether it's high
<v Speaker 3>up in business, because you know, everyone was like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>he's going to take all their jibs now. A lot
<v Speaker 3>of people say, oh wait a minute, it costs AI
<v Speaker 3>like six times the cost of humans to actually do
<v Speaker 3>the same thing, and it'll often hallucinate or break down
<v Speaker 3>or just not do it as well. And then you've
<v Speaker 3>also got on a ground level or a more human level,
<v Speaker 3>people going, well, wait a minute, you know, shouldn't Ai
<v Speaker 3>be doing jobs like, you know, sweeping mind fields and
<v Speaker 3>that way we can you know, paint pictures or write
<v Speaker 3>poems or some shit like that. And so there's a
<v Speaker 3>bit of a backlash against it as well, and on
<v Speaker 3>the personal front, Dano's against it. But there we go.
<v Speaker 3>I tried it. I was like, nah, this is that easy.
<v Speaker 3>This is hard, right, Yeah. I mean I saw some
<v Speaker 3>video the other night on YouTube or wherever. But it
<v Speaker 3>was clearly one of those things where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>Ai is going to do the instant subtitles for me,
<v Speaker 3>and all the subtitles not they weren't all wrong, but
<v Speaker 3>it's like, that's not how you spell that word, and
<v Speaker 3>that's not the grammar for that word, and that's not
<v Speaker 3>even the word that and said.
<v Speaker 1>And sometimes you watch Netflix and you can tell they
<v Speaker 1>just used to auto translate. And I said, Nikola, if
<v Speaker 1>you're hearing impaired, you would completely be lost on what's
<v Speaker 1>going on because that was completely incorrect.
<v Speaker 3>Went for Nicholas said, yeah, I work in that industry. Palso,

<v Speaker 1>I'm like, because my grandmother's death and it's like, if
<v Speaker 1>she's watching this, that what they just said is wrong.

<v Speaker 1>So this is the latest edition of Trios of Horror, obviously,
<v Speaker 1>and I always go on excited for Trios of Horror.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know about you, but there's.
<v Speaker 1>Always this level of this is going to be at
<v Speaker 1>least fun, even if it's going to be fun.
<v Speaker 3>And I watched this.
<v Speaker 1>We get these episodes now on Tuesdays used to be
<v Speaker 1>Wednesdays now a day earlier, so Tuesday, which is pretty
<v Speaker 1>much just the day after America, which is great on
<v Speaker 1>Disney Plus. And I was ample to watch the first
<v Speaker 1>thing in the morning last Tuesday, and I was pretty
<v Speaker 1>underwhelmed by it when I first watched it. That's disappointing,
<v Speaker 1>I thought, Yeah, I thought last year was also very underwhelming.
<v Speaker 1>What happened with me was two years ago. I think
<v Speaker 1>it was someone wrote a segment called Simpson's World, which
<v Speaker 1>is the one where they go into like a m
<v Speaker 1>Mister Rowe, but no West World.
<v Speaker 3>West World.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, it was an altered reality kind of thing,
<v Speaker 1>and it was Simpsons fancy and go visit Springfield and
<v Speaker 1>it's all the greatest Simpsons moments and that's right. And
<v Speaker 1>I also had the anime parody. It was just the
<v Speaker 1>Barbara book is how you say Babaduka? But Marge was
<v Speaker 1>the It was really really solid trios of horror and
<v Speaker 1>last years was really disappointing. They had that venom thing
<v Speaker 1>and it just didn't work for me. This one here,
<v Speaker 1>I'm going hopefully they can get back to where they
<v Speaker 1>were the before. Didn't really like it, and then I
<v Speaker 1>rewatched it, taking some notes, and I enjoyed it more
<v Speaker 1>the second time, maybe because I knew what was coming up.
<v Speaker 1>I can sort of, you know, relax a bit more.
<v Speaker 1>It still wasn't that great. It was it was, it was.
<v Speaker 1>I'd give it a B at most.
<v Speaker 3>I think I would probably go B minus or a
<v Speaker 3>C plus, mainly because I agree with you, I mean
<v Speaker 3>in a lot of ways. But what really struck me
<v Speaker 3>as like, you guys are showing off your references here,
<v Speaker 3>you're showing off we've seen this, we want to poke
<v Speaker 3>fun at that, that kind of thing, and what is
<v Speaker 3>a goot an example? Oh look, I mean all through
<v Speaker 3>I mean look last Days of Chris Go. I was like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>well this is clearly Jaws, but you've also throwing and
<v Speaker 3>stuff from the Blob remake and and even the stuff
<v Speaker 3>with a Homer and Bart. It's like, well they're doing
<v Speaker 3>characters from Smoking in the Bandit is that what it is? Yeah? Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I was like lost. Yeah, so it's and it's got
<v Speaker 3>that whole seventies thing about it, which I get. You know,
<v Speaker 3>Jewels are seventy five, and Smoking the bandit is seventies
<v Speaker 3>six or seventy seven or whatever. The blobbers in the eighties,
<v Speaker 3>but it was eighty eight the reboot, I think. So yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's like, oh, okay, are you showing off that you've
<v Speaker 3>seen these things, which is very sort of like currency
<v Speaker 3>on the internet or online or whatever's like I know
<v Speaker 3>what you did there, Yeah, I see what you're doing.
<v Speaker 3>And it felt like the jokes were kind of third
<v Speaker 3>or fourth down the line into instead of like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>we're going to make fun of this, or we're going
<v Speaker 3>to pay tribute to that. Yeah, write some good jokes
<v Speaker 3>in there, please.
<v Speaker 1>I think what'stood out to me in particular is this
<v Speaker 1>is the first time where I've seen or a long
<v Speaker 1>story based around a character who's voice by someone else. Now, yes,
<v Speaker 1>and it was just so off putting is off the
<v Speaker 1>right term, but I felt a.
<v Speaker 3>Little sort of disconcerted. Desert. Apologies for mispronouncing your name, sir.
<v Speaker 3>It's spelled desert as in Sahara desert, but it's got
<v Speaker 3>an accent on the yes. Apologies.
<v Speaker 1>Yea man from Becker We all know he is now
<v Speaker 1>the current voice of Lou, And I'm sorry, but it's
<v Speaker 1>just not it, you know. I mean all credit to
<v Speaker 1>the guy, but I'm sure there are many African American
<v Speaker 1>voice actors out there who could nail the Lou voice
<v Speaker 1>more so. And it's a shame that there seems like
<v Speaker 1>the unnamed talent out there aren't getting chosen over people.
<v Speaker 3>Who are relatively well known.
<v Speaker 1>Relatively well known, which is a shame I'm watching this
<v Speaker 1>going this is it was distracting because it didn't it
<v Speaker 1>didn't even sound like he was trying to be Lou.
<v Speaker 1>No and if you're going to take over a character.
<v Speaker 1>We spoke to Billy West recently. It's going to be
<v Speaker 1>coming out in the podcast very soon. He took how
<v Speaker 1>he took over did bugs money in Space Jam, he
<v Speaker 1>took a and a Stimby, and how he tried to
<v Speaker 1>pay tribute to the divisional but also put his slight
<v Speaker 1>little spin on it. But this just feels his responsibility
<v Speaker 1>was Yeah, his responsibility was to the character more than
<v Speaker 1>anything else. But this just feels like it's just a
<v Speaker 1>different voice. I mean, at least put a bit of
<v Speaker 1>a deeper Yeah, you.
<v Speaker 3>Know, that's the thing. I mean, yeah, I mean Lou's
<v Speaker 3>always been kind of a peripheral character. I mean, you
<v Speaker 3>wouldn't even call him a supporting character in the way
<v Speaker 3>that you call maybe Lenny and Carl supporting.
<v Speaker 1>I like the choice, if this was like Golden, I
<v Speaker 1>wouldn't have minded Lou being the choice to be the
<v Speaker 1>chief Bodie say in this story. But it just the
<v Speaker 1>voice just was just felt distracting to me.
<v Speaker 3>I guess. So, yeah, I mean, I think something I've
<v Speaker 3>always liked about Treehouse of Horror is that, you know,
<v Speaker 3>the main characters usually be put into the main character Roles.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I understand where you're coming from in terms
<v Speaker 3>of like, oh, okay, well this is unexpected twist that, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I mean, and I do play it for a halfway
<v Speaker 3>decent gag. That's with Eddie. Oh no, with the star
<v Speaker 3>was yeah. Oh and now in charge it is Luke. Yes.
<v Speaker 3>Actually I didn't see that coming.
<v Speaker 1>My authority and now he's a new chief Eddie, So
<v Speaker 1>I thought that was good. But the violence was also
<v Speaker 1>quite good throughout this well yeah, I mean the violence
<v Speaker 1>is always good in chance, and it feels like now
<v Speaker 1>they're more open to just being more gory because there
<v Speaker 1>was always deaths in the early ones, but now their.
<v Speaker 3>Gory death well we got the thirty sixth this is
<v Speaker 3>it Treehouse of Horror. Yeah, I mean, I you remember
<v Speaker 3>in the early ones, you'd have March coming out saying
<v Speaker 3>maybe a kid shouldn't be watching this or whatever, or
<v Speaker 3>you know, be careful or whatever. Yeah, giving that yeah
<v Speaker 3>that morning, because I don't think i'd let the kids
<v Speaker 3>watch this. Oh no, it's pretty gruesome, it is. Yeah. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>but that's what your without the gore. No, it's what
<v Speaker 3>you're there for now, and it's going to become a yeah,
<v Speaker 3>Halloween tradition or a Treehouse of Horror Tradition's like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>we're going to get a big gory here. If you
<v Speaker 3>see it at the right age or whatever, all the
<v Speaker 3>wrong age, you might be like, oh my god, that's
<v Speaker 3>that's a ska for life, or that's like, oh my god.
<v Speaker 3>I still remember when I saw that when I was
<v Speaker 3>a kid. But yeah, I think most people are going
<v Speaker 3>to be like, okay, well I paid my ticket, I'll
<v Speaker 3>take the ride. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>I feel it was a very sort of and my
<v Speaker 1>environmentally friendly mantra to this episode as well.
<v Speaker 3>Certainly with the with the book ending episodes go on
<v Speaker 3>with Plastic World. Yeah, maybe not the Krusty Halloween Special Quiet.
<v Speaker 1>Which was my favorite segment of the three. I talk
<v Speaker 1>about that in the moment, but yeah, I just thought
<v Speaker 1>I'm definitely watching it going. They're trying to preach a
<v Speaker 1>little message a little bit. They did it in a
<v Speaker 1>way they didn't feel too in your face. I think
<v Speaker 1>kids can sort of watch Plastic World because there's too
<v Speaker 1>much gore, skin, his head explodes and whatnot, But take
<v Speaker 1>the gory out and I think there's a good message there.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, we are drowning the planet in plastic.
<v Speaker 1>But it's not an original concept. I mean, we've seen
<v Speaker 1>Walley Wallly is the same thing.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, very much.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, but I really liked this second segment. So
<v Speaker 1>what was it called the.
<v Speaker 3>Rusty Halloween Special?
<v Speaker 1>So it's called the clown Knight with the Devil, which
<v Speaker 1>is a takeoff of the Late.
<v Speaker 3>Really, I didn't see that title at all.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm not sure if the title was there, but
<v Speaker 1>as Cord clown up with the Devil, that's just what
<v Speaker 1>they called it.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, Yeah, because I just saw the Crusty Halloween Special
<v Speaker 3>and in like a sign because with last Days a Crisco,
<v Speaker 3>they had it on the Cinema Marquee and that, and
<v Speaker 3>so when I saw that, I thought, oh is this
<v Speaker 3>the tail? And yeah, so not that interesting.
<v Speaker 1>But it's called clown Night with the Devil, which is
<v Speaker 1>I take off Late Night Devil. That's what I've never
<v Speaker 1>seen Late Night in the Devil. It's been recommended to me.
<v Speaker 1>But it's a similar kind of concept to this.
<v Speaker 3>Right, and it is indeed, and it's the physical media

<v Speaker 3>have all manner of spooky stuff. But it's also like
<v Speaker 3>found footage of like we found footage from behind the
<v Speaker 3>scenes of that Fateful night on that talk show whatever.
<v Speaker 1>Kinde of my favorite moments. It's just al but as
<v Speaker 1>the voice of Satan, going found footage into the Netflix always.
<v Speaker 3>Good when you've got interest doing voice was Yes, we're a.
<v Speaker 1>Stringer bell as Satan. I thought was great. Now we're
<v Speaker 1>discussing off air. There was one guest voice, because it
<v Speaker 1>was all the guest voice in this one that stood
<v Speaker 1>out to me. I think it's just because I watched
<v Speaker 1>A House of Dynamite and it's just maybe he's just
<v Speaker 1>in my mind. It's just I was always on my mind.
<v Speaker 1>But misinter was going, is.
<v Speaker 3>That Elber it is? It is? Yeah, I think for me.
<v Speaker 1>For me, what I like the most about that second
<v Speaker 1>segment Clanut with the Devil was just the animation, the
<v Speaker 1>way they obviously playing on a nostalge for kids whorew
<v Speaker 1>up in the nineties. But you're watching it and you go,
<v Speaker 1>if you took this out of this Triosa of Horror
<v Speaker 1>and just put this in Trios of Horror at nine,
<v Speaker 1>it would feel the way they captured the nineteen ninety
<v Speaker 1>five vibe I thought was really cool.
<v Speaker 3>No, they did a good job with that. Absolutely, and again,
<v Speaker 3>like last day as at Chrisco, it's more than a
<v Speaker 3>Late Night with the Devil. Have you seen the movie? Nope?

<v Speaker 3>you haven't. Yeah, all the stuff with I guess it's
<v Speaker 3>mister Teeney and there's some him going a bit a
<v Speaker 3>bit wild, Yeah, ripping off faces. Yeah, that's directly lifted

<v Speaker 3>chimps running wild. I mean I've said there's many times,
<v Speaker 3>like several nightmares I can tell Oh, yeah, they don't

<v Speaker 1>Bit of that, and then rough Wigan obviously becomes He's
<v Speaker 1>just sort of like a vessel, isn't in the end

<v Speaker 1>the manager managers like I only made the deal with
<v Speaker 1>the TV special no him, and it burns a circle
<v Speaker 1>and it's great reveal of it being But I just
<v Speaker 1>really enjoyed the second segment, and the third one was
<v Speaker 1>obviously the Plastic World, which is the story of that
<v Speaker 1>is essentially we're ruining the world with plastic as a
<v Speaker 1>mad Max.
<v Speaker 3>It's a bit of a yeah you mentioned Wally before.
<v Speaker 3>It's a bit of a horror take or a bit
<v Speaker 3>of a post apocalyptic, a mash up of say Furiosa
<v Speaker 3>or Fury Road.
<v Speaker 1>And Wally apparently water World as well on a bit
<v Speaker 1>of water World in this. I've never seen water World.
<v Speaker 1>I've been told not to bother with water World.
<v Speaker 3>What's fine?
<v Speaker 1>Really isn't the movie that ruined Kemocrossas Simpsons told me
<v Speaker 1>across his career.
<v Speaker 3>Costa was really flying high in the early nineties, could
<v Speaker 3>do nothing wrong. Ah, this is post that Tin Cup
<v Speaker 3>was after was after Water War? Really yeah. Yeah, but
<v Speaker 3>say let's go from eighty nine Wolves. Yeah you got
<v Speaker 3>Field of Dreams, dancing with Wolves, Robin to Prince at
<v Speaker 3>Thee and the Bodyguard, which was a huge hit. Of
<v Speaker 3>course if the Bodyguard, Yeah, and there's something else in there,
<v Speaker 3>I'm sure. But then it's like, oh know, okay, I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna make this post apocalyptic action movie. Set it on
<v Speaker 3>the water, and making movies on waters not easy. And
<v Speaker 3>he's like, no, it's gonna be great. It gonna be great.
<v Speaker 3>And the budget just sort of went up when up
<v Speaker 3>went up, and it was just a perfectly okay action movie.
<v Speaker 3>And yeah, but everyone was like, oh, Kevin, you flew
<v Speaker 3>too close the sun, buddy, and you blew all there's money,
<v Speaker 3>and look, I think it's made its money back over
<v Speaker 3>the time. And it's yeah, it's certainly not terrible.
<v Speaker 1>It's a great stunt show. I believe it somewhere it
<v Speaker 1>does a sun show. Apparently it's still awesome to this day.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. But because it wasn't an automatic hit on the
<v Speaker 3>in the vein of everything else that he had done before,
<v Speaker 3>it's like, oh, he's lost it.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, they do make the joke on The Simpsons where
<v Speaker 1>he's playing the water World game it takes two steps.
<v Speaker 1>It's like insert more quarters. It's like, yeah, the budget,
<v Speaker 1>that's Itah. But yeah, so I would give this. I'd
<v Speaker 1>give it a B. I think I just I really
<v Speaker 1>like the second segment after rewatching it. The first time
<v Speaker 1>I watched it, I was like, I don't know what
<v Speaker 1>you're going for here, and then learning about it being
<v Speaker 1>a parody of Late Night with the Devil or something,
<v Speaker 1>I was like, Okay, at least appreciate what you're going
<v Speaker 1>for there. Plus, the world was fine, it just felt
<v Speaker 1>very I don't know what would you call.
<v Speaker 3>It just felt there.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, the animation was kind of weird as well, so
<v Speaker 1>it's basically like two D animation on.
<v Speaker 3>With a bit of three D. Three D. Yeah. Well,
<v Speaker 3>I admired the looks of these more than it. I
<v Speaker 3>thought they were all very well put together, and Simpsons
<v Speaker 3>looks the best it's ever looked. Now. Sure, Yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>think I really admired or really appreciated everything that sort
<v Speaker 3>of went int themes like Okay, oh we're gonna throw
<v Speaker 3>in a bit of this and a bit of that.
<v Speaker 3>It's going to look fantastic. It's like I would have
<v Speaker 3>traded maybe thirty percent of that for thirty percent more
<v Speaker 3>just cool jokes or fucking joke or yeah. I mean,
<v Speaker 3>it just felt more like you get this as opposed
<v Speaker 3>to boom. Yeah, the wait Zinger is here, no, no,
<v Speaker 3>but as what you said about Plastic World being just there.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I've taken I know, notes lots of points
<v Speaker 3>about the first two, not many about Plastic World. It's like,
<v Speaker 3>what can you really say about this?

<v Speaker 3>All right, well, do you have any favorite moments in episode? Yeah? Well,
<v Speaker 3>I mean from Last Days of Chris. I just I
<v Speaker 3>think it's really the first indication that they're doing Jaws
<v Speaker 3>is when you see Quimby for the first time. He's
<v Speaker 3>wearing May of Vaughan's anchor suit. I thought that was
<v Speaker 3>pretty funny. Are you also MOA's quint in this that's right?
<v Speaker 3>Calling him a turd Monger's like, that's pretty ballsy. Also,
<v Speaker 3>there's a that famous shot in Jaws where they zoom
<v Speaker 3>in but dolly out. Yeah, dolly zoom that's bad. So yeah,
<v Speaker 3>like that very much. What do you think of the wife?
<v Speaker 1>I didn't the wife her occurring bit the Buttle last
<v Speaker 1>mile was like, you're trying to make this something.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, okay, you're making a payoff. But it's like when
<v Speaker 3>you're at the Earth Casino, I was like, oh, I
<v Speaker 3>didn't get the jack, but I got like maybe like
<v Speaker 3>five coin. Yeah, it's not not a huge payoff.

<v Speaker 1>because she deserves to be mentioned. It is Brotie Gupter,
<v Speaker 1>Brodie Gupter. Is she trying to take the mickey out
<v Speaker 1>of Chief Brodie's.
<v Speaker 3>Wife in Jaws? She doesn't seem nonchalant about the you know,
<v Speaker 3>she's all well when she sort of sees the in Jaws,
<v Speaker 3>when she sees the book and sees the sharking like
<v Speaker 3>get out of the water.
