He's on the videos, and we welcome back good champion, super Bowl Champion Damn biers Is TV.

00:01:07
Speaker 1: Hear that twinkle in his voice when he did the update.

00:01:09
Speaker 2: Oh my goodness, sounds like hes like that that little extra in his voice, like like a teenage boy who just lost his virginity. It's so cool because he was there, I present, and he was at the Super Bowl. He's our resident Seahawks fan. But all those weeks, all the back and forth, all the banter of the NFL, it all came down to Sam Darnold, the Seahawks, and Dan Bayer.

00:01:33
Speaker 1: Ye long, oh man.

00:01:34
Speaker 4: I'm telling you, I didn't think that this team could do what they did, and it surely was surprising. But when you look at how they did it on Sunday, I don't know about you, guys, and from all the people outside of my world, I've heard that, yeah, wasn't a great game, and I fully understood that as it was going on. But when it's your team, you're so locked down.

00:01:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't care. You thought it was the greatest day, right, And I hear you.

00:02:01
Speaker 4: When they went up nineteen nothing, I'm like, Okay, I think they've got it, and then boom the Patriots score immediately It's nineteen seven, still like twelve minutes or so left on the clock, and I'm thinking, okay. Then when they picked off Drake Mayham, like Okay, well that's probably gonna do it. And then it wasn't until the nuos who uh stripped from on the Devin Witherspoon sack that really sealed the deal.

00:02:24
Speaker 1: But even in the.

00:02:25
Speaker 4: Fourth quarter, it was still still a little nerve wracking. If you had a dog in the fight, well, congratsman.

00:02:30
Speaker 2: Throughout the show, we'll be getting more insight from Dan Byer because I want to hear his reaction on you know, halftime and more of the game.

00:02:37
Speaker 5: But he was on the field, all right. He was one of the sugarcane This is bush league. Is what I call this bush league. I put it on the group text.

00:02:47
Speaker 2: Right, he didn't sneak in as a sugarcane plan. He actually had a ticket, so he was there thing credential. I have a meme that sort of goes with what Dan said, and it's the frustrated in the guy, you know, the meme of the Indian guy, like.

00:03:03
Speaker 1: He's like a squid word a little bit.

00:03:05
Speaker 2: When you win the Super Bowl, but people only talk about what halftime show they watched, you know what I mean, Like we shop praising the Seahawks and Dan Byer and his fandom and Buddy or Kid Rock, Right, what about everybody's talking about bad Bunny anyway, Again, We're Covino and Rich live from the Fox Sports Radio Studio. If you miss any of our show today throughout the week, remember the podcast goes up. Danny g puts the best of up. Search Covino on Rich. Wherever you get your podcast, rate it five stars. We can hear him YouTube dot com. Slash at Covino on Rich FSR. YouTube dot com, slash Covino on Rich FSR. We were supposed to have Fernando Mendoza, as everybody knows, but it didn't happen, but we got a cool pick out of it. Well you can see all that in fact before you get into uh, the final thoughts we have on bed Bunny and Kid Rock, and it goes back to the nineties, a whole backstory we'll explain. Plus we'll talk about fights in the NBA, desperate attempts to get that woman in your life back. You ever mess up and you go to desperate measures to get someone back. Plus, I saw Iron Mike in the lobby. He's waiting to do some trivia.

00:04:22
Speaker 1: Was too much.

00:04:22
Speaker 2: We'll get to all this, but I want to say what's up to Stu Gotts because I feel like since we met this guy, he has only had our back.

00:04:29
Speaker 1: Is it last named Gotts, first name, Stu, Stu got got this guy?

00:04:34
Speaker 2: Is that I pat This guy has only seems to have been a good fellow so far. I'm I'm a fan of Stu Gotts being added to the lineup and producer Mike, the whole team there, great guy, fun guy.

00:04:45
Speaker 1: I have been a longtime fan for sure, and.

00:04:50
Speaker 2: I feel like every day now he's been getting our back with this Colin thing where Colin stole it was.

00:04:56
Speaker 1: Just great content getting our back, maybe stirring the pot.

00:05:00
Speaker 2: It's kind of how I'm glad he's on our side.

00:05:03
Speaker 5: Maybe throwing gasoline, Yeah exactly, I.

00:05:07
Speaker 1: Thought we handled it Gasolina, No Daddy Yankee state homes.

00:05:10
Speaker 2: But I I will say, I love the fun of the vibe that Steve Gott says bregaging because this Colin Fernanda Mendoza thing just won't go away and I sort of love it to the point where our good pal, the producer from Colin Touey, reached out and he's like, guys, I have nothing to do with this, Like we now have Colin's producers, Like we were sniped. But it wasn't from Colin. It wasn't from his producers that were pals with. Okay, it was some other ancillary producer there.

00:05:42
Speaker 1: It happened.

00:05:43
Speaker 5: It was a freelance talent booker that was there on site at Radio.

00:05:46
Speaker 2: Row, and we already said that you know, yeah, of course we were disappointed, but we weren't mad at anybody, but we were there on standby to add insult to injury. We planned for this interview and we were excited about it for weeks and then we had to sit there on stage and watch Colin interview Fernando from.

00:06:07
Speaker 6: A screen.

00:06:09
Speaker 2: Like we were actually to day. You know what I mean, come back, Do you guys understand what we're saying?

00:06:14
Speaker 7: No?

00:06:14
Speaker 2: Dare I say I don't think I could use some of these.

00:06:16
Speaker 1: Words on the air, But like there's a category I porn for this.

00:06:19
Speaker 2: When a guy just sits there and he's like I felt like I was the dude sitting in the chair watching you know, someone with my girl.

00:06:26
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly what was happening.

00:06:27
Speaker 5: You guys are upset. I got a Fernando tattoo in San Francisco on Wednesday.

00:06:31
Speaker 2: And by the way, we did know the night before, but we did show up the next morning just in case we were able to squeeze some time out of it and make it happen anyway, Fernando Gate. The thing turns out we weren't able to, So we had a watch like, oh, but I just love the fact that but we understood.

00:06:46
Speaker 1: I understood it.

00:06:47
Speaker 2: I don't want to pack on behalf of everybody. I understood our new Palce du Gots. I mean talk about a teammate. This guy's a clubhouse Guy's a locker room guy? Is he?

00:06:56
Speaker 1: I mean I like to think that he again, just nothing better.

00:07:00
Speaker 2: I have one bone to pick my ste guys, nothing better than someone that stirs the pot.

00:07:04
Speaker 1: So him is he?

00:07:05
Speaker 5: That whole crew their fun and we hung out with him at the staff are They're good guys? Whose name I forget?

00:07:10
Speaker 2: And I feel like I talked to him the most, the young kid.

00:07:13
Speaker 1: That kid. Don't feel bad about forgeting him. He don't know.

00:07:16
Speaker 5: Yeah, he said, you guys were the same guy.

00:07:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, he don't know.

00:07:18
Speaker 5: If I'm he said, you're a rich Covina.

00:07:20
Speaker 2: Because I forget the kid's name and I met one hundred times. But he's such a he's such a good young kid, is he? Of course we all know from ESPN and and Stu Gotts, but a good team is he ripped handsome? That guy Goody is real good, Tierra, No, when is he joining the team. It's just Cavino is mad because he went down one notch of in shape hosts on Fox Sports Radio, like, now you're behind Jonas LeVar?

00:07:40
Speaker 1: Are you behind a lot of people?

00:07:41
Speaker 6: Now?

00:07:41
Speaker 5: Look at two days in a row. Though Stu Gots has claimed that Fernando was his interview and because he wasn't going to be there on Friday, he graciously gave it to you guys because it was happening in his time slot. Wrong, Buzzer, No, it wasn't. It was in the morning. We all to wake our butts up early, which is why we were on the sta age during Colin's show West Coast.

00:08:02
Speaker 1: I'll let him think.

00:08:05
Speaker 2: He's he's our pal as our back. I'm cool if we were on the Traders, we'd have a little alliance with Steve Gotts. Right now, let's uh, you know, let's vote off so the music. Let's let's give the facts. Then here from the source, right, we're the source, Danny g Spot our team. We coordinated this interview a long time ago. The facts are we were supposed to interview Fernando Windows at Radio Row.

00:08:27
Speaker 1: It was one of the biggest gets for super Bowl Week.

00:08:30
Speaker 5: He was on our list to start the week, he.

00:08:32
Speaker 2: Was on our list. We were really excited about it. We were prepared to do it. We found out the night before that, man, we're not going to have the time because Colin's getting the interview. We didn't know how that happened. We assumed that someone saw his name on our list and they tried to snag it. Turns out it was a third party booker that sort of swiped it. Colin had no knowledge of it, neither did his producers that were pals with Two. We and the rest of the crew. We did show up anyway.

00:09:03
Speaker 1: We did show watched the whole thing list because two.

00:09:08
Speaker 5: Is our boy. We filled in on Colin before him for a long time.

00:09:12
Speaker 2: Were we disappointed, Yes, I'm not gonna pretend like I wasn't. You know, this is what we're there for, right, We're there and we're excited about it. We were prepared for it. And did we have to watch in misery and add salt to the wound. Yes, So, no, we weren't happy about it. Did we understand? Yes, here's a deeper question. Would we have done the.

00:09:32
Speaker 1: Same thing had we given the opportunity? Hmmm?

00:09:35
Speaker 2: Did you talk about did on stage and say it out loud that if one of us tackled Fernando while he was sitting there on the herd, that it would have went down in sports infamy.

00:09:47
Speaker 1: I did say that I'll blame Rich for that. Rich.

00:09:50
Speaker 5: Share with the class really quick, what your theory was.

00:09:52
Speaker 2: Well, Fernando Mendozo was sitting on a chair interviewing, being interviewed by Colin TV. Was like way too close to the end of the stage. And I said, if someone randomly just tackled him off this platform and he got hurt, they would go down in like infamy.

00:10:11
Speaker 1: Is like the guy that he mania. He didn't have to get hurt.

00:10:15
Speaker 5: You said, you said if he broke his arm, he broke.

00:10:17
Speaker 2: His all sudden he's responsible for the NFL Draft going into it. Would have to be super thirsty for fifteen minutes of fame and you know what run on the field. In today's world, there's a lot of people that would be willing to do that.

00:10:28
Speaker 1: That's the weird part about it.

00:10:29
Speaker 2: Well, anyway, my point was, I doubt Colin even knew we were supposed to have him.

00:10:34
Speaker 1: He didn't.

00:10:34
Speaker 2: We went to Colin's party, I don't think like two days before that, we talked to Colin. He said he was real happy for our success here at Fox Sports Radio.

00:10:42
Speaker 5: And said, wait to see what I do in two days.

00:10:44
Speaker 2: And Colin has always had our back, so this has nothing and you know what, two week music, I'm not kissing ask Those guys are always great when we fill in for Colin. But I really did feel like, I don't think, don't know what you could say on Fox Sports. I felt like the guy definitely in the porn that's sitting in the corner watching someone else bang his wife. I felt like I was just there on my stage. I don't know what I could say. But he said that, well, I didn't know how to know what words are allounded. I mean, I think you could have found a more eloquent way of saying.

00:11:12
Speaker 1: But I felt like, here, I am maybe you shouldn't have interviewed Fernando Mendoza. His virgineers can't handle that.

00:11:17
Speaker 2: But I'm saying, I like, I was there just sort of watching what should what should have been ours, But I used saying that Colin didn't know and I like to think that, but I'm hearing otherwise, Sam.

00:11:32
Speaker 8: Coleno and Rich look, I'm sorry I had to come in and take Fernando, but stars attract stars. The big dogs want to eat with other big dogs, not Cobado and Rich start.

00:11:47
Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, we ate starle Pie is what happened. But you know, I don't know how to feel about it. We've been getting so much feedback about Fernando Gate ever since this happened.

00:11:57
Speaker 1: And let it be known, we weren't the guys a star.

00:12:00
Speaker 2: What we did was our due diligence as radio broadcasters, true professionals, because we teased it all week, right, so when it doesn't happen, we had to explain that, hey, it was still on Fox Sports Radio, just not with us, however, and we carried on with our interview. We interviewed Big Mike Instead. However, Danny G. Danny G run up something very interesting at where I was, Sam, would we have done the same thing?

00:12:24
Speaker 1: And to be honest, you're damn right.

00:12:26
Speaker 2: So whether Colin knew or not, I get it now if you told me, because I saw that our pals a the odd couple, Rob Parker and Kelvin, guys that we are friends with, Guys we had a cocktail with guys that we respect. They had Christian McCaffrey to start their show one of the days. If they said, YEO, rich Niners guy, you want to swoop McCaffrey, I would have been like, sorry, Rob Parker, right, you don't think I would have done that.

00:12:52
Speaker 1: So I don't blame anyone. Yeah, I'm not saying an.

00:12:56
Speaker 5: I don't think you would have done that. If McCaffrey was on their list all week.

00:13:00
Speaker 1: Say let me tell you.

00:13:01
Speaker 5: I understand you're saying that now, but I don't think you would do that.

00:13:05
Speaker 2: There's etiquette involved, and I honestly think.

00:13:08
Speaker 1: That there is.

00:13:10
Speaker 5: And that's why Tooley was upset about this and called me because he's like, I don't want you guys to think that I would do something like that to your teammates.

00:13:17
Speaker 2: Nobody's thinking that. You know who's saying that, and you know what, but speaking for you guys.

00:13:24
Speaker 1: Are you saying that he's just stirring the platform?

00:13:26
Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I'm glad he's got our bag, but I feel like there's some of that too.

00:13:31
Speaker 7: I did see Christian McCaffrey on the list. I did know he was gonna be with the Odd Couple, and I did say I respect the Odd Couple, but if his schedule should change, we would gladly take him. I said, specifically to our talent person, I don't want to steal a guest away from the Odd Couple.

00:13:48
Speaker 2: And you know what, though, you should have said, you should have been like, oh, I heard Rob hates Christian McCaffrey in the nine. I would never because I respect other people. Shows who's got the respect it. That's what it comes down to, and if it's not, you work harder. So you know what, props to Colin. It motivates me, man, It motivates me to not let stuff like that happen again.

00:14:11
Speaker 5: When we took that picture with Fernando and left the convention center, Rich told all of us, you know what, we got to work even harder.

00:14:18
Speaker 6: That's it.

00:14:18
Speaker 2: Well, you know what I did learning list I did have that it's fuel to the fun. They have that real life thought. Like I said, you know what, we had a really good week. You know, I'll tell you guys, we signed an extension here. Ah, that's big news. Come on, I'm burying that little fun fact. But we had a good week and every things here at Fox Sports Radio are great. We love everyone we work it with, and so we were having a we were like a high and I said to Cavino, by the way, that's big, big news. I was saying that that the little let the presses know, let the people know, the little Fernando Mendoza kicking the huevos, this little thing.

00:14:55
Speaker 1: I said, you know what, guys, it's probably a good thing. You should know what.

00:14:57
Speaker 2: It reminds us that we're not coling yet. We're not damn Patrick yet. We're not there yet. We're still busting our ass. So if anything, Yeah, but you know what, we're no slouches either, bro, so you know. But besides, I'm not a schoolboy either. But besides that nice steak we had and some of those nice dumplings in Chinatown and San Francisco. It was nice to have a little piece of humble pie because it keeps you hungry.

00:15:16
Speaker 1: Dude.

00:15:16
Speaker 2: Why did Tom Brady win seven Super Bowls? Because he always played with a little bit of a chip on his shoulder. Yeah, it's a tostito, bro, And I've stayed hungry ever since nineteen eighty something when I listened to Twisted cists. You stay, I sot you eat someone's girls scale cookies in the lobby. I just stayed hungry because de Snyder told me to. Not because not because Colin Cowhart sniped our greatest guest of the week. But if you want to hear it, hold on the podcast and thank you Stu Gotts and crew for having our back real quick and again starting trumble.

00:15:46
Speaker 1: Do you want to finalize this?

00:15:47
Speaker 2: I'm texting Tooey from the Herd and he's like, I would love to call in and give their side.

00:15:52
Speaker 1: Oh man, if he wants to call by all means yes, Danny, can you connect with you.

00:15:56
Speaker 2: I'll connect with you, you know, And they really bring the people in. You have to realize how disappointed we were. It was a debate in itself to even show up the next day. I didn't want to go. I was like, what am I gonna go there and get denied? And that's exactly what happened. But I think it was It was like I said, it was sort of embarrassing yet funny to be on a stage five free from Fernando while he was on a video on.

00:16:19
Speaker 1: The It's because we're good sports. It's only miliating, is what it really is.

00:16:22
Speaker 5: There's always a chance.

00:16:23
Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was humiliating. You got the footage. Danny g has footage of what we had to watch. We had to watch Rinanda Mendoza on our stage. We were present at on our stage watching him be an interviewed on medic screen.

00:16:36
Speaker 1: Like Kuey Herman was.

00:16:37
Speaker 2: Can I tell you the funniest part about it, Because you know Danny's a huge Raiders fan and Dan Byer, you'd appreciate this because you know the setup. dB was there all week doing his thing on the stage. Colin when anyone needed to tap into Colin on the herd because it's the biggest show, right, he's the big dog, He's the big dogs. There was a setup, a camera and a little tiny set where people could patch.

00:16:58
Speaker 1: Into the herd.

00:17:00
Speaker 2: During a commercial we see Colin on the screen and Fernandoman does is like I'm not hearing anything, and he signals over to Danny like you come here, man.

00:17:09
Speaker 1: He's like, hey, man, what's going on.

00:17:11
Speaker 2: Danny walked up to like, yes, Fernando, I'm sorry, Yes, Fernando.

00:17:17
Speaker 1: You're supposed to be on our show.

00:17:18
Speaker 2: But anything you need, and and watching Danny be like, no, you're there in a commercial.

00:17:24
Speaker 1: How you doing, man, Danny g o.

00:17:25
Speaker 5: Fernando nice to me.

00:17:26
Speaker 1: You Watching their little interaction, I was like, oh man.

00:17:29
Speaker 2: And again, at least Danny had his moment, but Fred had his moment. We got to congratulate and we got our photo op, but we didn't get the interview. Wait again, I want people to understand that me, I'm speaking on behalf of me. Rich can say whatever he wants. Steve Covino know the difference Me Covino. I'm not complaining. I'm just displaining. I'm not hating.

00:17:51
Speaker 1: I'm just stating.

00:17:52
Speaker 2: I'm trying to give you the facts because you're hearing a lot of bs from Stutts, respectfully, and you know now Collins producers, I'm telling you the facts. I'm not hating. I don't care I moved on from it. Whatever, dude, whatever you think you you think you're gonna get invited to the Volume Party next year? Hell yeah, because I haven't said anything wrong. You you get out of here.

00:18:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, let's say.

00:18:16
Speaker 2: Had to Towey, super producer of the Herd A good dude, what's up, Towey?

00:18:21
Speaker 9: What's up?

00:18:22
Speaker 1: Rich?

00:18:22
Speaker 9: You are definitely not getting invited to the Volume party next year?

00:18:25
Speaker 1: Good I'll be there chilling with you. Colin middle Cough the whole crew. Yeah, by the way, I love the relationship.

00:18:33
Speaker 2: By the way, the funniest relationship is Cavino and middle Cough because they're like cut from the same cloth, that kind of guy.

00:18:39
Speaker 1: He's just a little more angry than me.

00:18:40
Speaker 2: He's like real serious, you know, like I kind of like that fire I see inside. You love Travis Matthew has I do. I love his hats, I love his style. So Tooey, just know, regardless of what ste God's says, I'm not mad at you, bro, Just tell us what happened. Yeah, give Towey from your side of things. This is not something you or music did.

00:19:02
Speaker 9: So no, absolutely not no. Okay. So here's what. First of all, I had no idea this was going down on Friday or Saturday or Sunday or yesterday. We'll till yesterday, okay. So on Thursday afternoon we got a text from Page. Page was the booker that FS one hired for the week to go and kind of man things from on site that week. So she sent us a text group text and me and a couple of the producers on the TV side and said, Hey, would you guys be interested in for Dana Mendoza tomorrow? She said around ninety five ten o'clock. We said sure, whenever he's available. Would love to take him. Whenever he's available. I knew, and I told Danny g this earlier when I talked had him booked. I saw a post, a social post that went out. I think it was Wednesday or Thursday. You guys were having him on Friday. I knew he was going on your show Friday at some point, I didn't know what time, but I assumed you guys were taking him. But at no point did did I say to her or anybody say to her, hey, you got to take Mendoza and put them on our show and take them off theirs. I don't care what you have to do. Okay, that did not happen one hundred percent. All we said was we would love to have him whenever he's available. And that was the last thing we heard from her until later Thursday she said, Mendoza's good for ten o'clock.

00:20:20
Speaker 1: You know, I'll be honest.

00:20:21
Speaker 2: You know what my takeaway is, who's this page person? And she's off my Christmas card. I'm saying, who is this page person? Let's hire her? Because she did everything she could.

00:20:33
Speaker 1: She said, f you.

00:20:33
Speaker 2: Comedo, Rich Colin healthy Colin hired her to freelance with you guys.

00:20:39
Speaker 9: No I got to applaud her now, honestly, no, but Rich, I don't think it was her. I don't think it was her. Now again, do I know that for sure? I do not know that for sure, But I will tell you this, I think that somewhere along the lines, maybe it was the Rep. Maybe it was the Rep's decision. We don't know.

00:20:57
Speaker 1: I get it. But you guys, again, we're gonna.

00:21:01
Speaker 2: If we're gonna get them on Fox Sports, we're gonna we're gonna get them on TV and Collins Show. Uh, forget these Covino and Rich characters.

00:21:10
Speaker 9: I mean, at these events like this. You're always at the mercy of the rep right, and I have a hard time believing Page would have ever done something like that. And I'm almost I'm almost I'm gonna I'm gonna say one hundred percent promise she did not do that, because there's no way someone like that would have done something that without running it by any of us. First, Hey, guys, here's the deal. You can have the ten, but that means Cabo Rich can't have them like that would not That's not something she would have done.

00:21:33
Speaker 2: Well too, Sorry you got tragged into this man like Fernando. Gate's a big deal. I guess they've been talking about it for the past two days.

00:21:40
Speaker 9: Apparently they are, and Stu won't stop talking.

00:21:42
Speaker 2: About it, so you know, all right, Well, hey man, thanks for hitting us up, for making time and show us her side of the side.

00:21:49
Speaker 1: Of the story.

00:21:50
Speaker 5: Tooey, who do you guys have book next week on the show on the Herd?

00:21:54
Speaker 1: Anyone you want to swipe? Well? Hey, Tooy, thank you, brother.

00:21:58
Speaker 5: Appreciate you.

00:22:01
Speaker 7: Page the woman I was killing a thief every time I walked by the their table.

00:22:05
Speaker 1: Perhaps up.

00:22:07
Speaker 4: It's just pretty simple, and I just I'm just gonna ask Greg, Greg, are you a loser.

00:22:11
Speaker 1: Or a winner in this situation? What? Like, what would you think that you are in this situation? I'm a winner. There it is. I'm a winner. He's a winner.

00:22:21
Speaker 4: By the way, I also have Greg's pick to win the AFC North next year the Bengals.

00:22:29
Speaker 2: Thank you, buddy, Thanks to Listen Rich having some fun again. Steve Gott's already stirring the pot. I sort of love it. It's awkward burgers, man, I live in serve because Colin is like, what are these guys targeting about? This is the kind of drama we needed after that Super Bowl. Yeah, no, we had a great time. You can see all the pictures, you could see the videos everything at Covino and Rich on social media and on our YouTube page. And you know what, the NYG has exclusive footage behind the velvet rope of what we had to win. He has the footage that we were subjected to watch. And like you said, Rich, is kind of like watching your girl with another dude and you have to sit there and just that's what it is.

00:23:15
Speaker 1: Deal with it.

00:23:15
Speaker 2: But well, we'll make sure you guys get to see that. And speaking of drama, and he's got it up there right now. And at you oh the YouTube channel spots got it up right there. That's what we had to watch right there. And speaking of at Covin and Rich, the clip we posted from yesterday show, Oh my goodness has gone like mildly viral because said yesterday Rich that you didn't think people were making this political. I was so wrong. I was, as Fonsie said back in the day, we're wrong. I was wrong because I said, you know what, I don't know if anyone's really mad about bed Bunny. I think it's like a bunch of fake rage on social media. Our post about bed Bunny, which was down the middle sort of hey, wasn't political. You were a business thing, my business decision.

00:24:00
Speaker 1: The NFL.

00:24:00
Speaker 2: Hey he doesn't speak English, maybe it's not for you. We took a pretty like, hey, it is what it is, approach man. The opinions were kind of gross. Wow, so a thought on And by the way, let me make some clear. It's not that the fact that you can't have an opinion, of course you can, is that you're willing to like cross.

00:24:16
Speaker 1: Lines and own it.

00:24:18
Speaker 2: It's like I see your profile picture with your beautiful family and you have no care in the world to say all this negative and mean stuff on a public platform on social media. That's that's craziness to me. Well, there's a relax, get a grip there. There's a deep thought I have about this bad buddy thing. So well we'll touch on halftime next. Plus we'll talk some NBA fights. We got Tyson trivia, so a lot to get to on an action pack Covin.

00:24:44
Speaker 1: On rich Tuesday.

00:24:45
Speaker 2: Have you ever wiped with a piece of dry single ply toilet paper and wondered is this as good as a guests?

00:24:50
Speaker 1: Well, it's not.

00:24:52
Speaker 2: It gets a lot better thanks to wet extra large cleaning power of dude wipe Dude.

00:24:57
Speaker 1: When we say extra large, we mean.

00:25:01
Speaker 2: So no matter what the size of your mess, from top to bottom, cheez dudes, as you covered for a confident clean, They're comfortable. They comfortably clean up whatever t peet leaves behind. No more maintenance wipes, debris, no way, irritation, not a chance. Time to make the trade, traded the season and switch from TP to wet extra large dudewipes and start experiencing the confident clean of dudewives made from one hundred percent plant based natural fibers coming in a variety of sense and sensations like mint chill, like our buddy Drew Maac always uses him, and I'm like, man, you smell you smell minty fresh?

00:25:34
Speaker 1: What is that?

00:25:35
Speaker 2: And years ago he was like, dudewives and man, it works works to protect your which sent is calling you since you were just kissing as a schach shape Bob. Okay, yeah, he has a little hint of Shay Shape. Joined the movement for cleaner movements and a skid free life. You've been really hoping for that. I know available Amazon and major retailers nationwide. Dudewipes best clean pants down. Okay, no colin swipe in Fernando just keeps me hungry And as d Snyder said on this classic album, stay hungry. And by the way, health is wealth. Sending good vibes to D Snyder he had to cancel his fiftieth anniversary reunion tour. You're gonna send well wishes to my dude, Francisco Lindor, who looks like he's gonna miss opening day A little tweaked up already heard about that, man, I heard heard and rich perhaps you heard about us one.

00:26:36
Speaker 1: Hundred and sixty two games. I'm not worried about.

00:26:38
Speaker 2: It, No, no, not yet. But we do have meaningful baseball in March. And I heard Lindor wasn't playing anyway. So I'm ready for the WBC and ready to get into your phone calls at eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox and Covino and Rich Life from the Fox Sports Radio studio.

00:26:53
Speaker 1: Facing a peak season, looking for a new team member.

00:26:56
Speaker 2: Workforce solutions from Express Employment Pros makes hiring easier.

00:26:59
Speaker 1: Visit Express us dot com.

00:27:00
Speaker 2: To find the office and see how Express can help you hire smarter and faster. Now, we're giving away prizes today like we always do on a Tuesday. We got some Iron Mike trivia, some multiple choice trivia, so stand by for that. We got to talk some Olympics and more football talk, more super Bowl time. I said, I had a thought about the Super Bowl halftime show to sort of just put a little bow on this football season.

00:27:25
Speaker 1: Right, We've seen it.

00:27:28
Speaker 2: We watched it all every week, every game. You were spending time in the witching hour with Hanson. I had five TVs going. We watched the full season of football. Rich was just listening to Hanson, which is totally different now you watch Scott Hansen, Rich Rock's out to him. I just listened to Umbop and Dan Bayer, congratulations again to him and all the Seahawks fans Wes and Vegas and all our other pals. Joel McHale, who else, Chris Pratt, Rain Wilson, congrats again, Dan Byer on your Seahawks now time. People you know love to hate or love or make a big deal about the super Bowl halftime show and Bad Bunny got the world in a tizzy. Man, the feedback we got from our clip posted at Covino and Rich yesterday, especially on Facebook, people are are vicious. It's usually X where people are the most vicious, but yesterday for us.

00:28:24
Speaker 5: It was politics. Facebook.

00:28:26
Speaker 1: Uncle, you know what, No, I think X is still the worst.

00:28:31
Speaker 2: Well, the feedback we got and we're pretty down the middle on it.

00:28:35
Speaker 1: Again.

00:28:35
Speaker 2: Keep in mind Covino here, and you may see me as a half breed Latino. I don't know, I don't care to be honest, but I'm a rock fan. I'm a Metallica guy. I would have preferred to see Metallica. My expectations were low for bad Money. I'm not a Bad Bunny fan. However, the amount of pride he brought to that performance, the fun, how could you not witness and.

00:28:57
Speaker 1: At least appreciate the the culture.

00:29:01
Speaker 2: You know, you could say something, it wasn't political, it was cultural, it was business for the NFL.

00:29:06
Speaker 1: You could simply say it wasn't for me. I didn't like it.

00:29:09
Speaker 2: But a lodge barrier, like we said, we understand everything's for you. We've talked about this before. Where like baseball, for instance, when they speed up the game and make different changes, what an old timers say, Hey, I look baseball the way it used to be, and it's like, well, you're gonna die soon.

00:29:23
Speaker 1: People are so matters.

00:29:24
Speaker 2: People as a society need to lighten up, you know, honestly, you.

00:29:28
Speaker 1: Know old boomers baseball.

00:29:30
Speaker 6: I remember even Roger.

00:29:31
Speaker 2: Morris, Hey, you got like you're on a ticking time clock. Times almost over for you.

00:29:35
Speaker 1: They're trying to get.

00:29:36
Speaker 2: The young fans, so it's not always for you and international fans. You know how many people I had to convince that it's an international play. There were people leaving comments like dude, that's a reach, Like it's a reach. They got nine international game scheduled next year, and you got it. That's just the beginning Cup. That's the goal here. International. There's a sense that once the schedule goes to eighteen games, which it will small time. I'm thinking, bro, every team will get two bye weeks and they'll be an opportunity. I bet at one point where every team plays one international, one international game.

00:30:07
Speaker 1: It's gonna happen. In the next decade.

00:30:10
Speaker 2: Every team will probably play one international game, there'll be two bye weeks, and the game is global. Now, Cave, you know you brought up an interesting thought about one of your favorites, Pavaratti.

00:30:21
Speaker 1: No, I just find it interesting.

00:30:23
Speaker 2: Everyone's talking about the language barrier, and I totally get that. You know what I did recently with Rich at a jingle ball. I watched a K pop band and enjoyed it from start to finish. I didn't understand a single word they said, but I can appreciate the artistry and the performance. You think I speak that I do not, So when people complain about that, I'm like, have you never seen Pavaratti perform? Do you speak a Taian? Are are you having problems with that? How about Gangnam Style? You aren't dancing to cy when that came out, you don't feel the fun and the vibe when he's dancing, or you know, if you're a rock guy, you never listen to Ramstein, or you have a problem with it.

00:31:05
Speaker 1: What's the problem. If people just want to complain, that's the problem.

00:31:09
Speaker 2: Not everything's for They make it political when it's business, it's cultural and it's business. And I think people are really lame and small minded for for not seeing past that.

00:31:20
Speaker 1: I really do. That's my honest opinion. I'm not hating anybody.

00:31:23
Speaker 2: I'm not mad at it, but the feedback we got was ridiculous. With that said, you're allowed to say I didn't like it because I only knew one bed Bunny song and I was like, all right, yo, he's putting on performance, not for me, but my expectations were low reach, so I was pleasantly surprised. I looked as Ricky Martin, I looked at his gaga. All right, Now back to the game. I think people like you know, were wildly overreactive. Dan Byron, you were there in in the sugar cane.

00:31:52
Speaker 1: I was not. That's a false, that's a lie. What's going on? I don't know, man, it hurts ste God say it so it's got to be true. Let's bring get Greg. Let's get his thoughts on the map.

00:32:02
Speaker 2: Okay, dB, when you were there at the stadium, I heard that it was let's be honest, there were a lot of white people that are like, what's going on? But I heard there was I heard Rich Eisen say that the crowd there were a lot of Latino fans that were going bananas, a little mixed review.

00:32:17
Speaker 4: And that that could be I have felt specifically with these last two halftime shows.

00:32:23
Speaker 1: Now I've been I've been.

00:32:24
Speaker 4: To every Super Bowl except two since Super Bowl forty so, and that was around the time where they started to make the change. The Nipplegate was super Bowl thirty eight.

00:32:35
Speaker 2: Forget not only was he the sugar cane this year, he was one of the sharks with Katy Perry.

00:32:39
Speaker 1: I don't know if you're like I thought.

00:32:40
Speaker 2: I wasn't sure if that was true, but this fun fact he was backpack kid that did the philosophy so.

00:32:46
Speaker 5: Many different roles. I'm multifaceted.

00:32:48
Speaker 4: The event is made for TV, yeah, and so it just does not translate in the stadium. It's different when you have a band because it's like a live concert sort of feel. So when we had those strings of the Who and Prince and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, like there's it just it felt like a concert at halftime.

00:33:11
Speaker 2: A fifteen minute concert versus a fifteen minutes like performance.

00:33:14
Speaker 4: Yes, and that's what this is. So it doesn't translate into the standium as much as you would want to get a sense of it. Like last year the Kendrick Lamar, it didn't translate when I was there, and then you watch the thing and you're like, wow, that's crazy. Have you got to see this? But that's truly what it's like when you're at the stadium. We're a very very small small portion when you're at the game to be able to take in what the performance is. So I don't think we're necessarily a fair you know.

00:33:39
Speaker 2: You can't really comedy fifty people when one hundred and fifty million people are watching.

00:33:44
Speaker 1: Yes, yes, well you know now that we got.

00:33:46
Speaker 2: dB, let's get an update and then I have a thought about the halftime show to wrap this all off.

00:33:50
Speaker 1: What's up? D Yeah, you mentioned and met short stuff.

00:33:52
Speaker 4: Francisco Lindorman need surgery to repair that fracture in his wrist. Six weeks could be ready for opening day. David Sterns did say that Wan Soda is going to play left field instead of right field.

00:34:02
Speaker 1: For the Mets coming up in twenty twenty six.

00:34:04
Speaker 2: You know, it's funny to be the Mets emphasis on defense and analytics. They have three guys in the starting lineup that are gonna be playing new positions.

00:34:12
Speaker 1: So so much for that I gutting in New York Mets. There it is.

00:34:16
Speaker 4: The Detroit Tigers are bringing back Justin Verlander on a one year deal. Soon to be forty three year old spent the first thirteen years of his career in Motown. At the Olympics, US women's hockey team blank Canada today five to nothing in the preliminary round, while men's figure skating American Ilia Mallinin is in first place after the short program. It's a silver medal for mixed doubles curling pair Corey Tc and Corey Dropkin, as the US fell to Sweden in that gold medal match. A six to five. Lebron James is out tonight for the Lakers, as is Luka, Doncic, Austin Reeves and Marcus Smart. They will face the San Antonio Spurs Raptors forward Brandon Ingram replacing Warriors guard Steph Curry for this weekend's All Star Game. Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel told the reporters they plan on keeping will Kee Campbell left tackle entering the twenty twenty sixth season. Rams tackle Rob Havenstein is retiring after eleven seasons, and Clint Kubiak is the new head coach of the Raiders. Asked today about Max Crosby's future in Las Vegas.

00:35:13
Speaker 2: Spoken to Max Crosby and is he a guy you could see anchoring your defense here for years to come?

00:35:18
Speaker 8: I did you know?

00:35:19
Speaker 5: I got to drink cup of coffee with Max this morning. I loved talking ball with him, and you know, look forward to continuing those conversations.

00:35:25
Speaker 8: He was I think he was the first one in here is more than working out.

00:35:28
Speaker 5: So I fired me up.

00:35:29
Speaker 4: That's for Danny g and for Iowa Sam. The Detroit Bowl has come to an end after twenty nine seasons. It will not be played again. Goodbye to the Motor City Bowl, Miney Clain Bowl, Minikey Cark here. No, no, no, you're right.

00:35:42
Speaker 1: It was Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. It was Little Caesars for a while. Then what was it? What was the other one? Quick Clane Clain Bowl? Yeah, well things come to an end.

00:35:50
Speaker 2: Io was Sam usually a Mac team in there. Two thoughts dB, Max Crosby, our buddy Jason Fitz. I think sort of broke a story on Yahoo where it looked like he was leaving. But now it looks like there's a possibility that Max Crosby stays Raiders.

00:36:05
Speaker 1: So far one day into the Clint Kubiak era.

00:36:07
Speaker 2: And I know he's not who he was, but what do you say? The Detroit Tigers have a pretty good rotation. If you look at Scoobale, Valdez, Verlander, that's it out. That's a pretty in a world where pitching is pretty dicey on most teams, pretty good starting rotation for Detroit. So good things for you Tigers fans. All right, we got more Cavin on wretch.

00:36:25
Speaker 1: We'll talk a.

00:36:25

00:37:53
Speaker 2: I don't understand and take it off. Do we have alternate programming for Py? Because I don't understand his words. I can't translate the fun he's having right now. I canna lie the song Gangam style, it's our video, guys, Spot over there? What's up, Spotty banger bro Spot's wedding. I don't know if I was drunk or high or whatever I think. I don't know if I've ever had a more joyous moment in my life other than like the birth of my children. When this song came on at Spot's wedding, me and Cavino ran to the dance.

00:38:30
Speaker 6: Floor like.

00:38:32
Speaker 1: That was the best time I've ever had.

00:38:33
Speaker 5: This When you put Spot on your shoulders, you know what?

00:38:36
Speaker 2: In my mind I'm gonna think I did, Yeah, No, And then we put them in a chair and start hoisting him wedding?

00:38:41
Speaker 1: Was that moment just not for some reason like memorable. You got to release the footage one day and I feel like it was only the three of us. Is there footage of us looking.

00:38:51
Speaker 2: I was like, these guys high drunk or bull a buzz hit right at the same time, which is rare.

00:38:57
Speaker 1: It's like lightning in a bottle. I don't dance on the dance floor. I really don't.

00:39:01
Speaker 2: Anyway, I don't like it because he's not speaking English. Live from the Fox Sports Radio studio, it's time for our tire rack play of the day. It's Cavino and Rich and the pistons and the hornets were throwing punches last night.

00:39:13
Speaker 1: He got heated.

00:39:15
Speaker 6: JD on the dribble, right back down on Diabate and a whistle going on. Oh, Diabate is so long, boy, Diabate is He's facing suspension here, there is no question about it. And now Bridges strows the punt. Oh now, oh man, that's a bounty brook. Yeah, there go.

00:39:41
Speaker 5: After review, fighting fouls have been assessed to the following players, Diabate and Bridges from Charlotte, and Duran and Stuart from Detroit.

00:39:49
Speaker 6: Those four players have been ejected from the game.

00:39:51
Speaker 1: Damn.

00:39:51
Speaker 2: Every time I hear Diabate, I think of Gary Delabate boo. We saw at Radio Row Super Bowl and and it was great to see him do you bought they found by during it got ugly last night heated man of ninety seven to one the ticket Pistons Radio Network and that was our Tiract play the day for over forty years. You know, Tyrack's when hooking you up finding the right tires for how, what and where you drive, ship fast and free back by road as a protection with convenient installation options like mobile tire installation tirack dot com the way tire buying should be.

00:40:23
Speaker 1: Now, one last halftime.

00:40:25
Speaker 2: Note and we move on, And I want to talk about the origin of alternate halftime programming because a lot of times.

00:40:30
Speaker 1: People are like, why did Kid Rock even have a show?

00:40:33
Speaker 2: Millions of people watched him, abut six point one million tuned in, and you know he has the number one hit on iTunes today he added a verse to a Cody Johnson's song Till You Can't and it's now number one.

00:40:46
Speaker 1: So I mean, he did his thing, whether you like it or not.

00:40:49
Speaker 2: I mean, listen, people have had alternate halftime shows with mild success. I mean, you talk about a few million people, which is still big versus one hundred and practically fifty million people.

00:40:59
Speaker 1: But it all goes back to the nineties ninety two. In fact, in Living Color, No Sam hit me.

00:41:06
Speaker 2: Up with one of my favorite sketch comedy shows of all time. Before ninety three. Before ninety three, the halftime show meant Diddley's squat. It was a bathroom break, and it was Gloria Stefan and like winter theme, nonsense, people juggling, Yeah, you know, someone on a unicycle, Like no one cared and keenan ivory weigh and saw opportunity to capitalize on the millions of people that were tuned into the Super Bowl. So he said, Hey, join us on Fox, which was a new network at the time. Join us for the half hour. We'll have Jim Carrey counted down. You won't miss the game. Join us for an in Living color live special alternate programming. And you know what, they got so many people tuned into Fox that the very next year NFL booked Michael Jackson and the rest of his history and never looked they had nothing new that a little countdown clock when the game's starts again. So we all have in Living Color to thank for all these big Super Bowl halftime shows we have today.

00:42:07
Speaker 6: Tada
