00:00:31
Speaker 2: Welcome everyone.

00:00:32
Speaker 3: It is Kentucky Sports Radio, Wednesday, January eighth, on a snowy day here in Lexington, Kentucky got another inch of snow and so things are are back to a little hazardous. But we're here at the Kasbargrill. It's wingsday, you know what I mean. If you're gonna leave your house, you might as well get wings and see us.

00:00:52
Speaker 2: We're here.

00:00:53
Speaker 3: It's just us today right now, you know, because people are scared of snow in this state.

00:01:00
Speaker 2: They so scared, just get out and get in it. I don't know if that's official advice.

00:01:04
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's probably not the best advice.

00:01:06
Speaker 2: Why don't you shut up? Clarks pubbing shop. Paul Line say, twenty two eighty seven, I'm just kidding.

00:01:10
Speaker 3: Text machine a vision glass seven five two five four in this distant sponsored by the T J.

00:01:16
Speaker 2: Smith lofics. You call TJ. He'll make them pay. Guys. It's you know, we woke up more snow.

00:01:23
Speaker 3: It's supposed to be negative forty one degrees here tomorrow scientifically, and then uh Friday and Saturday more snow.

00:01:33
Speaker 5: Yeah we got I didn't know where I was supposed to have more snow last night. I woke up there's another inch of snow here. Georgetown had like two inches of snow, but they're talking like another eight inches maybe on Friday.

00:01:42
Speaker 2: WHOA what I think exactly?

00:01:46
Speaker 5: Jim Caldwell put out a map this morning, and you know Larry loves Jim Caldwell. Yeah again he said three to eight inches.

00:01:53
Speaker 6: But why are you?

00:01:53
Speaker 3: Why are you believing Jim Caldwell because Larry does Okay, but that was when he was in Hazard.

00:01:58
Speaker 5: He's moved to LEXI Nwice big time.

00:02:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, but they got the promotion bad better technology and oh he did wym T had had more doppler.

00:02:06
Speaker 7: I just went to Jim's profile. Why am I blocked by Jim W. K.

00:02:09
Speaker 2: White.

00:02:09
Speaker 3: Oh, you're blocked by modeled.

00:02:12
Speaker 6: I'm blocked blocked by meteor.

00:02:14
Speaker 2: Wow, you're getting blocked.

00:02:15
Speaker 3: I was gonna see this mapp or model run with Jim Caldwell. Why are you blocking Drew? Yeah, well you probably deserved it.

00:02:21
Speaker 6: Because else could have done to Jim Caldwell.

00:02:24
Speaker 3: You probably made a smart and you know what, Larry's not gonna like you anymore because because he liked Jim Caldwell.

00:02:30
Speaker 6: How am I going to know the forecast?

00:02:31
Speaker 2: I don't know. So you're saying eight inches?

00:02:33
Speaker 3: Yeah, well, first of all, three to eight, you're just airing on the side of eight.

00:02:37
Speaker 5: Yeah, I've got the map here if you want me to read it.

00:02:40
Speaker 2: How do you read a map?

00:02:41
Speaker 5: It's this is his what he posted right here.

00:02:44
Speaker 3: I'm interested to see how you read okodness, So he posted a paragraph he said, I'm just gonna read it. Snowshowers are cranking out some decent totals. I'm gonna be very real with y'all here. This is one of the roughest wintery periods in years. I'm talking about significant events, and these showers today the system can bring us our region anywhere from three to eight inches. There you go, and then another one may come Monday and Tuesday with a few more inches. You believe that this is crazy, This is wow. Look at Mario. He looks like the end of times are coming. You know what, though, I like it. If you're gonna have snow, just have it.

00:03:17
Speaker 5: I'd rather have the snow than the ice. Our roads I think in Lexton were worse today than they were yesterday.

00:03:22
Speaker 3: It's all right, it's fine, it's all of mentex me as you could have come to work yesterday then yes, because he's here today, that's exactly right. If it was worse today then yesterday, why weren't you here yesterday? What we did the show your day? I hadn't got out of my house yet. But by the way, his neighbor was here at the bar yesterday, Shannon, Yeah, and he said that when he was listening to Ryan complained, he was cackling. He said, you know, Ryan's driveway is like three inches long. He said he could have got He was like, he could have got so easy.

00:03:51
Speaker 6: But interesting.

00:03:53
Speaker 7: I almost wrote that on ks board because I also know Ryan's is your driveway even the length of your car.

00:03:58
Speaker 3: You're kind of like on you say you couldn't get out of your driveway. It's like you don't have a driveway.

00:04:03
Speaker 5: Well, you know, it's a driveway, typical driveway going into two car garage. Yeah about the you know it's.

00:04:09
Speaker 6: Not but it's it's not like a it's a big avenue.

00:04:12
Speaker 2: It's not like my driveway where you have to go up on top of that hill.

00:04:15
Speaker 5: There's no way I can get up your driveway.

00:04:16
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:04:17
Speaker 3: Well, hey, either way, if I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven. Kentucky loses last night to uh Georgia. Ryan and I watched a lot of the game here. It was, you know, similar, not as bad as the Ohio State game, but similar in the sense that got behind, kind of stayed behind the whole time.

00:04:38
Speaker 2: One time cut it to five.

00:04:39
Speaker 3: In the second half, but really stayed down nine to thirteen most of the most of the game. And you know my take, I think there's there are two kinds of Kentucky fans in my opinion, the fans that watch that game and say we got out tough, we got out physicaled, we didn't deserve to win in the the guy who say we got cheated. The officials were terrible. I think, you know, there were some officiating errors, but I also think we just got beat and we got out physical and out tough, and it's it's a little worrisome because it's about the third or fourth time that's happened.

00:05:19
Speaker 6: Yeah, the time.

00:05:20
Speaker 5: It's the second true road game at Clemson at Georgia, and I felt like in both games, man, the defense, that of the posy team just took us out of rhythm. You know, like you said, you and I watched the first half here. It was hard to watch.

00:05:31
Speaker 3: A lot of turnover and half was worse with all the foul calls, and that second half went like an hour forever.

00:05:37
Speaker 5: But you know, just they had six turnovers the whole Florida game. I think they had like seven in the first half. How many two footers do they miss in the first half? I mean, it was you gotta get Georgia credit. They definitely took Kentucky completely out of rhythm and took him away with more what they wanted to do.

00:05:50
Speaker 3: In the first half, Lamont Butler played well or we might not have scored, right, And then in the second half, you know, it was just it was just a sloppy, fat and we again, offensive rebounds killed us, like, I mean, we gave up. We've given up fifteen offensive rebounds a game for two straight games.

00:06:08
Speaker 2: You're just not gonna win like that.

00:06:10
Speaker 7: No, and you're thinking about physical or the refs. I'm down to talk about those refs forever. I mean they were horrible, but Kentucky lost that game because they were bad at basketball, not because the refs. Yeah, I mean Andrew Carr, he has had some critical buckets for this team. He's a good player, but he wanted no part of somto that were battling inside. At one point, instead of blocking out, he would turn and like just face guard them and use both hands just to try to keep that was doing.

00:06:35
Speaker 3: So I'm glad you brought that up. And again you're right. I mean, this team wouldn't be good without Andrew Carr. So none of this is to say he's not he's not a good player. But we've talked about and I talked about this on the show. When you play basketball, Mario, I think you played once or twice. You know, they teach you as a big guy, finger elbow butt, Yeah right, that's how you That's how you rebound. Yep, you finger you elbow and you butt like that. Okay, I just rammed into Ryde for those of you on the radio.

00:07:03
Speaker 5: But you had to demonstrate what to do.

00:07:05
Speaker 3: It looks like Andrew Carr only got the finger part because he just pushes the person and of course one time it ended up in that melee that got on the floor. But like we we don't box out, I mean, we do not box out, and then when the other team is more aggressive and we don't box out, they get the rebounds. And Mariy Williams and Andrew Carr are two of the worst people I've ever seen it boxing out, oh way. And some of those guys will box out, but then guys can jump over them because they're little. I don't our bigs do not box out. And Mariy Williams when it puzzled me. I mean he's a big, strong dude man. He can be able to clear a lot of space down there. But I don't know of this.

00:07:43
Speaker 5: Maybe the fundamentals he was taught growing up, he just is just not ingrained in him when he gets out there.

00:07:47
Speaker 2: It was odd you think they don't teach boxing out in London.

00:07:50
Speaker 5: Maybe they don't.

00:07:53
Speaker 6: That's that's elementary stuff. Okay, I bet they teach it there.

00:07:56
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:07:56
Speaker 7: Also one thing that I think I don't I don't want to come off complaining about officiating, but it seemed like on one end, you know, Georgia was allowed to wrestle, and if Amari did anything, he was getting called.

00:08:07
Speaker 6: Not that Amaro was playing.

00:08:08
Speaker 2: He sounds like you.

00:08:10
Speaker 6: When when he was backing up the guard, that was pretty horrible.

00:08:13
Speaker 7: We can we can at least call that Amari was being physical and that instance the guard fell down, he got called for that tiki tac foul and he went right the other way, and Somto just credit's getting away with him playing well.

00:08:22
Speaker 6: Somto was just beating people up.

00:08:24
Speaker 2: You're you're complaining, you're complaining about officiating.

00:08:27
Speaker 7: You're not let me I'm genuine talking about Somemto owned Kentucky, that's why they lost. But to give Mari one little ounce of credit. The one time I did show him show some fight, he got called.

00:08:35
Speaker 3: That was a foul. That what Amari did was a foul. He ran that guy out of bounds. You're not allowed to do that. You're allowed to establish position, you're not allowed to play. I'm not listen, don't get me wrong. There are a lot of calls that I think were wrong, and I think Georgia got more calls in Kentucky. But on that one, that's a foul. He ran that guy out of bounds. You can't do that. You can establish position, but you can't back somebody up. Most of the time Samto got the ball, he just out muscled them. I mean he just and we didn't box them out. So I can't really, I can't really complain.

00:09:11
Speaker 2: Now.

00:09:11
Speaker 3: I will complain about the fact that they got some calls on shots that we didn't get, which led them to shoot more free throws. But for people who are acting like the game was just ridiculous, they called only they only called five more fouls on us than then in total. The difference was theirs were shooting fouls often. And part of that is our guys don't want contact. When they go to the basket, they don't they move like when they shoot layups, they move away.

00:09:39
Speaker 2: From the contact. Right, Georgia jumps.

00:09:42
Speaker 3: Into it, and when you get referees like that, you're gonna go to the foul line.

00:09:46
Speaker 6: Right was seeking it. He wanted it.

00:09:48
Speaker 3: He wanted it, and so did Newell and so I mean, like you're they want the contact, and when you get trigger happy refs, then you're gonna go to the line.

00:09:57
Speaker 5: I'm wanna ask you this then, because as we're talking about, Jack givens his up and on the show that's getting a lot of play where he said, if you're the more physical team a lot of times, that will lead you to get more calls.

00:10:06
Speaker 2: Yes, that is he is one hundred percent right about that.

00:10:10
Speaker 3: When you get officials that have decided to call it close and you don't know that until the game starts, the more physical team is going to get the calls. They just are because they put themselves into the contact. Jack's I listened to the end of Jack of the Game and Jack knows more basketball than all of us. Come on, Jack said, we're not gonna get calls if we avoid contact.

00:10:31
Speaker 2: Huh.

00:10:31
Speaker 3: And we avoid all of our guys except maybe O Way avoid contact. They do not want to get hit, all of them. And in a game like that, you're gonna look, you're gonna get hurt by that.

00:10:43
Speaker 5: I think you're right. I think oh wait, is the only guy that's not afraid to take contact and still go ahead and try to finish. Yet it seemed like last night when the offense got out of sync, ball got in his hands and he was taking it straight to the hoop. You know again, I think a.

00:10:55
Speaker 3: Combination though drew of all of what we're talking about, including your your thing about the calls.

00:10:59
Speaker 2: Was it that little sequence that I think lost us the game.

00:11:03
Speaker 3: The game had been cut to five, right, they have the ball, they come down, they miss a shot, Carr does not box out Somto. Samto gets the rebound car then they call the flagrant foul. I don't know if it was a flagrant. It probably wasn't a play on the ball. Somto still scores. My man, if you're gonna get a flagrant, you can't let him score, true, right, you can't get an a one on a flagrant. Smto misses the free throw, right, but then they get the ball. But then they miss the shot, so actually it didn't cost us any points. We come down the court, Oway has a wide open three in the corner. If he hits that, Ryan, I think it cuts it to four.

00:11:45
Speaker 2: First of all.

00:11:46
Speaker 3: If Car boxes out, or if Oway hits it, oh Way misses it, then they call that flop on the off side rebound, which was not a foul. The Jackson Robinson Knight when blue Cane goes flying and acts like he gets that would.

00:11:59
Speaker 6: Have been a highlighted game. We won. We could make fun of that. That was hilarious.

00:12:02
Speaker 2: That was hilarious, But.

00:12:03
Speaker 3: It was also a big call because then blue Cane comes and makes the free throws and it's a nine point game, and we.

00:12:08
Speaker 2: Never really after that Drew had a shot.

00:12:10
Speaker 7: Oh not at all. I'm the amur thing I was. I'm not complaining about the ref even though I think you're trying to put that on me. I'm saying, that's the one time I saw Maury fight and that's what we got out of it.

00:12:18
Speaker 6: It's like he looked up and thought he had a chance.

00:12:20
Speaker 7: To get physical because he had a mismatch, and it didn't turn out to anything otherwise.

00:12:24
Speaker 6: All the guys were getting shoved around.

00:12:26
Speaker 5: The Brandy Garrison even came in.

00:12:28
Speaker 6: With some energy.

00:12:29
Speaker 2: He thought he played pretty well.

00:12:31
Speaker 6: He's such a I.

00:12:33
Speaker 7: Actually yelled, well, I can't say on the radio a little heck yeah, but uh that three pointer he took that hit the glass and then did dud Adam Stratton on the website compared it to a cornhall bag getting the board and just kind of sliding in. He had so many moments where I'm yelling, what are you doing? But then he had thirteen points eight from the field. Had a thing, but he's another one. He was trying in there, but they just that one.

00:12:54
Speaker 3: Session where he ended up dribbling coast to coast and it looked like it went off six of.

00:12:59
Speaker 2: His body parts.

00:13:00
Speaker 3: But then he made the layup and so you were like, okay.

00:13:03
Speaker 7: Lamont Butler twice though, Lamont wide open calling for the ball, and he just shook him off and he dribbled and turned it over. So it's like he will give such a good thing and then the very next possession it turns it over, something takes it away.

00:13:14
Speaker 5: I want to tell a story about the Brandon Garrison three pointer. It hit the back and went thud. You put your head down and then you didn't even know this.

00:13:22
Speaker 3: You looked at like, what happened When I saw it thun, I was like, well he missed. I looked down on my phone and it went in and everybody's clapping. You're like, what happened? Did that go in? No way that went in?

00:13:32
Speaker 2: Uh, well it did.

00:13:34
Speaker 3: I don't know how one more thing that I just this goes to the aggression and not wanting to contact. These guys don't take layups under the goal if they're going to be contested. They get the ball into the goal and kick out. The only guy that takes it up his own way, and he got blocked twice for doing that on dunks, but at least he's taken it up. In the first half, they had three or four layups where they saw.

00:14:00
Speaker 2: Aw someone coming and they passed it out.

00:14:02
Speaker 3: They do not like to take contact, and Ryan, it's I think that that frustrates me, especially in a game like that where you're gonna get to go to the line if you'll take contact.

00:14:12
Speaker 5: Yeah, you're right. There was at least four times I think in the first half where they had the ball in the lane instead of maybe to mustle them, try to take the contact, get a bucket, hey kick it out.

00:14:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's not kicking out for a better shot. It's kicking out because you don't want to get fouled.

00:14:26
Speaker 6: There's a long list of things that went wrong. We've hit a lot of them.

00:14:28
Speaker 7: But the moment I knew the game over was over was in the first half, Jackson Robinson threw it to Travis Perry in the corner when I think Jackson could have dunked it, he was under the reck he was already ozero for three from that point. When I saw he didn't want to lay up, I thought we were not getting anything from Jackson Robinson tonight if he's not taking open layups.

00:14:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, and we did so It's it's a there's a lot more to get to on it. We'll take your calls. Eight five, nine, eighty seven. Frustrating game, but this is gonna be the road in the sec Do you think, well, think about this. Do you think these guys can win a tough road game. That's one of the things I think we have to figure out. Because we've got a bunch of them coming up. We'll take a break and be right back. It's KSR. Welcome back Turkey Sports Radio. First of all, big shout out to Meg Subtles who sent me. I guess this is for Christmas, but I just got it KSR playing cards.

00:15:21
Speaker 5: They are really cool.

00:15:22
Speaker 2: Shannon, you would like it. You are the queen, by the way.

00:15:24
Speaker 3: In your in your Dorothy outfit, your Dorothy out end. Ryan is h he's the king. Be proud of who you sell. I'm the Ace with the picture of me as a kid. But then they also have two mimosas yes, right, three candles, uh, four white swim tags.

00:15:44
Speaker 6: These people know what I mean.

00:15:45
Speaker 3: They have five sister jeans, six toilet stores, seven Kentucky Joe phrases, eight calculators, which is Ryan working on his ades hopefully, nine banners, and then ten cracker barrels versus outbacks. So big shout out to Meg. Like a lot of show references in there.

00:16:03
Speaker 5: They're looking. They were very cool. I like the Joker too. At the end too.

00:16:05
Speaker 2: You got a picture of Joker Phillips. Yeah, Joker Phillips. So that was nice of Meg. Thank you to uh cool to Meg the gift.

00:16:12
Speaker 6: There's no hiding that she's a long time listener with those references.

00:16:15
Speaker 3: Some deep cuts of those are some deep cuts. So one person rights, Matt, you are completely wrong. We win that game if the officials call it fair. People want Kentucky to lose. I mean, okay, if that's what you want to say, we lost by thirteen. I don't think that's the officiating. But uh, I mean, look, Georgia got the calls, but you're gonna get calls at home, you just are. And I agree with Jack. When you initiate physicality, you're gonna get more calls. So there's only two games in UK history, Drew, I said this last night that I think we lost because of the officiate.

00:16:51
Speaker 2: One is a game that got you and I sued, yes.

00:16:54
Speaker 3: We lost that game because of the officiat We should have been the national champs at you. And the second is when they called the technical on Isaac Comphies for slamming the ball, because that wasn't a technical and it was the end of the game and he didn't need to call it and we would have won with that. Beyond that, their calls that bother me. But like when you lose by double digits, you lost by double digit. Yeah, no, last night the officials were horrible. But when I'm listing the reasons Kentucky lost, they're not in my top five. I might start with Jackson Robinson. Kobe Bray hit one three, you got out rebounds. So does that worry about Jackson Robbins, Yes, very much.

00:17:27
Speaker 7: So, Like we've focused on the officials, and again I got ten more examples how bad they were about is a very very tiny issue from last night. Kentucky wouldn't have won that game if there weren't officials in the arena. Kentucky was bad at basketball last night. Both those things can be true.

00:17:40
Speaker 2: You worried about Jackson rows very much. So.

00:17:42
Speaker 7: I mean that's t why Clemson. He played a little better, didn't shoot it well. But when games get tight, somebody puts a little four arm on him and it's getting physical, he completely shies away, it seems, and it's we have a couple examples, but it's enough that I'm worried moving forward because there's no easy games left. That's gonna be game. He's got to play better. I mean we won't be great without him playing better. I mean we just won't.

00:18:06
Speaker 3: He's this roster is built around him being the star. And if he's not the star, we just don't have enough Ryan to beat pet good teams without him playing. At least he doesn't have to play great every game, but he's got to play well, agreed.

00:18:22
Speaker 5: If you want to be the guy, if you're supposed to be the guy, then games like last night you need to be the guy. You know, we saw this second first game second of the year, Duke, he just disappeared in big game.

00:18:32
Speaker 2: He's only played really well.

00:18:35
Speaker 3: In one big game and that was Gonzaga. He played really well against Gonzaga. But besides that, against these good teams, he has struggled this year.

00:18:43
Speaker 7: If not for saving them against Gonzaga, because he did save him that was when they were fin he moved to point guard. The Marquee games, he's almost been a complete no show across the board in all of them.

00:18:53
Speaker 2: And he missed those three.

00:18:54
Speaker 3: He had three open threes at the beginning and the last one was an airball. And that's when you were like, uh uh oh. I mean when he shot that airball, that was that really was an uh oh to me.

00:19:06
Speaker 2: I don't, I don't.

00:19:06
Speaker 5: I don't get it.

00:19:07
Speaker 2: Man.

00:19:07
Speaker 5: You know, it's not like he's a rookie. He's an experienced player, played a lot of minutes. And when you, like I said, when you're supposed to be the guy, teams just you know, need you to do something, and like he regresses like that is a non factor.

00:19:18
Speaker 2: Now.

00:19:19
Speaker 3: I said when Pope came that if you look at his history, this is what he has, which is he'll beat great teams and then he'll sometimes.

00:19:28
Speaker 2: Throw up a dud. Is that just what this year is gonna be?

00:19:31
Speaker 3: Like, We're gonna beat some great teams and then we're gonna just throw up duds.

00:19:36
Speaker 7: Seeming that way, And honestly, if we go back to October, I mean, this is kind of what we knew all along. I think we all just got so excited about Duke and Clemson that we just thought, well, we gotta beat Georgia. But we knew physical teams in the SEC were gonna give them a problem. We didn't know george was gonna be this good before the year, but that's the team they played last night.

00:19:53
Speaker 6: Is what we knew would would be an issue.

00:19:56
Speaker 7: So yes, it's a concern, But also didn't we all kind know this is what we're gonna get this season.

00:20:02
Speaker 6: Yeah, but now, I mean, you know, it don't make it Philly better.

00:20:06
Speaker 3: I feel like I did after the Clemson game, which is all right, But if you could go beat gonzaga'll be all right.

00:20:12
Speaker 2: So if you can go beat Mississippi State, it'll be all right.

00:20:15
Speaker 3: I don't know if we will, But then again, I didn't think we beat Gonzaga and we did.

00:20:18
Speaker 5: Yeah, I agree with that, man. I'm telling you I watched them Mississippi State in Vanderbilt last night. Mississippi State is good. I mean, they're really good and it's gonna be tough.

00:20:25
Speaker 3: But you could say we're really good. I mean, Florida just beat Tennessee by thirty and we beat them.

00:20:32
Speaker 5: How about Tennessee only scoring forty six points and we scored over fifty in each half against Florida.

00:20:37
Speaker 3: I didn't obviously watch any of that game because we were playing, but that's crazy.

00:20:40
Speaker 6: Didn't they have like fifteen at halftime?

00:20:42
Speaker 5: Fifteen at halftime? Yeah?

00:20:43
Speaker 3: I mean that's they're the number one. It's the third worst loss for a number one team in the country ever.

00:20:48
Speaker 5: That's gonna say, when's the last time a number one team got beat that bad?

00:20:51
Speaker 3: It's the third lost ever, third worst loss by the number one team ever. Can we talk just a second about the about the broadcast? Yes, I mean, so, first of all, we were in here and the sound I was I thought something was wrong with this with this bar because I was like, it's not loud. There's I can't get any I turned it up as loud as it could be, and there just wasn't any atmosphere, and then people were writing me in saying it's like that everywhere. It sounded like the announcers were announcing through a tin cup in a closet in Nevada, and then that sound would get.

00:21:29
Speaker 2: Loud soft, loud soft.

00:21:32
Speaker 3: That was like a high school production of that game last night?

00:21:36
Speaker 2: Am I wrong? You neled it?

00:21:37
Speaker 6: There was a dunk in the first half.

00:21:39
Speaker 7: I turned abby and said, as soon as he dunked, it sounded like they cut to a high school feed because it just got so much louder. The guys screaming had like the muffled noise where you're too close to the mic, and then it went soft again, and then there'd be a big play, and it's like someone's in a lab to turn it up the volume and then turning it back.

00:21:55
Speaker 3: So I think what's happening is I think that the SEC and ESPN. The games that are on ESPN are being broadcasted by an ESPN crew, but the SEC network games, as I understand it, are being broadcast by local student things at the school where you are. So I think we got like a Georgia's student production. The announcers are from ESPN, but everything else and you can tell it sounds awful during the game.

00:22:23
Speaker 6: Yeah.

00:22:23
Speaker 5: Each school's got their own broadcasting department in the broadcasting that does their all their events, and I think they do they use that homeschool broadcasting.

00:22:31
Speaker 3: I watch random games like Seattle versus you know, UC Irvine, and they sound better than that game did last night, Like.

00:22:41
Speaker 2: They gotta do something that was awful.

00:22:43
Speaker 5: It sounded like it sounded like a high school game, and that had to be the stream because the commercials were allowed. No problem with commercials.

00:22:50
Speaker 2: It had to be the thing.

00:22:50
Speaker 3: You can't You can't let a bunch of college kids produce the nationally televised SEC game.

00:22:57
Speaker 2: We'll be right back. It's KSR now Sports Radio walking back. It is Tucky Sports Radio.

00:23:09
Speaker 3: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, what is that?

00:23:14
Speaker 2: What is that? Alan Color? Why does he tag me in all of his tweets for his show?

00:23:17
Speaker 5: I don't know.

00:23:18
Speaker 3: He just wrote no filter, no one sorry, k Y Sports Radio.

00:23:22
Speaker 2: Ha ha. It's not even English.

00:23:26
Speaker 3: What does that mean, Shannon, no filter, no one sorry, k Y Sports Radio.

00:23:33
Speaker 2: Ha ha.

00:23:33
Speaker 4: What that means is please retweet me so people will see.

00:23:36
Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not doing it. Alan I guess I didn't mention it here, but I mean that's not even English. I like Alan, but like, you don't have to tag me on all your show, on all your show tweets.

00:23:46
Speaker 5: I love Alan and we'll go to my grave calling him a good friend. But he does tag me like every day for his promo and it's all no filter.

00:23:54
Speaker 4: When we learned that you can remove the tag, right.

00:23:56
Speaker 2: No filter. The people accusing him of having a filter, All right, I'm just you know, just do.

00:24:06
Speaker 4: What Mark Weinberg did, did to you? Take the tag off?

00:24:09
Speaker 3: Right?

00:24:09
Speaker 7: Yeah, he takes the tag off. Yeah, he tweeted the tweet. Now it's on there twice. What he retweeted his tweet. He retweeted his own tweet. Yeah, it's on their tweet. Now you're up there twice in color. Retweeted on color.

00:24:20
Speaker 2: But he just tweeted it. I know, so he retweeted.

00:24:23
Speaker 6: He's emphasizing it.

00:24:24
Speaker 2: He retweeted twice the tweet. He just tweeted.

00:24:28
Speaker 3: All right, whatever, no filter. No, he's just emphasizing that there's no filter. One person rights, Matt, do you think you say Jackson Robinson? Hey, guys, guys, how about how about Kobe Brea. Is he the reason we win or lose based on making threes? He's only made four in our three losses.

00:24:47
Speaker 7: I think there's a combination to both of them not playing well in big games. Kobe Brea had, you know, the two road games that combine three three pointers at Clemson in Georgia. You're not winning that way.

00:24:58
Speaker 5: I'm gonna I can give Kobe bre A pass last night if he was sick and they weren't even sure.

00:25:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, he was sick, that's true.

00:25:03
Speaker 5: I can give him pass.

00:25:04
Speaker 3: And I think Jack or Tom one of them kind of hinted that maybe they there are a couple.

00:25:08
Speaker 2: Other guys were a little under the weather too. That might be like a bug going around.

00:25:12
Speaker 5: Well, maybe that's the case, but there's it was very obvious, like the only guys that showed up to play last night, to really show up to play with Lamont Butler and don't take away, it's a lot of the other guys didn't even show up.

00:25:23
Speaker 2: I didn't go take it.

00:25:24
Speaker 3: Played hard, but I think he played poorly. Yes, I think Lamont played hard. I think Brandon Garrison played hard, and I don't I don't want to say I don't think any of the guys didn't play hard. I just don't think they were in it. Like they weren't physical enough in the game. I don't think anybody was like dogging it. I just don't think you know, they're just not physical.

00:25:44
Speaker 6: It's had a bad game.

00:25:45
Speaker 7: There're two stats that, really I think that stand out showed how bad it was. Not just because they were getting beat up if you watched the game, but they had more turnovers than assists for only the second time all season. They were number one in the country going in the game. The other time was it Clemson. So both times both row games. And then you hit six total three pointers. One of them was Brandon Garrison and one of them was Asley Almanor. When you get four threes from everyone else, you're not winning games.

00:26:10
Speaker 3: I will say Kobe Brea had three go in and out. I mean he had three go in and out, and it might be a different game if those three go in instead of in and out.

00:26:19
Speaker 6: So there, and like the cleansing game.

00:26:21
Speaker 7: On the other end, they went and banked in some craps and we've got guys rattling in and out.

00:26:25
Speaker 2: Dude, the bank three, I mean that drives me crazy. When and that.

00:26:29
Speaker 3: By the way, there were two swings like that were big into the first half. Kobe Braa gets an open look that could have cut it to seven, in and out, they come down hit a three, were down thirteen.

00:26:40
Speaker 2: That could have been a seven point game. Instead it's thirteen.

00:26:43
Speaker 3: Then in the one you're talking about, they bank in a three, we come down Brea in and out. Both of them. You just sit there and go, well, maybe it's in your night when that happens. Who's up first, Roger, Roger, go ahead, Roger, Oh, thanks for taking my call.

00:27:00
Speaker 6: Began with.

00:27:02
Speaker 8: The way they played last night was athetic and the referees didn't help us, But that that wasn't the reason we lost the ball game. When is this team gonna get in the gym and learn how to rebound? Fifth year seniors? And another thing I like to say, Kobe Bray I should be starting over Robinson. At least he will shoot the ball and make a lot more than than Robinson ever thinks about.

00:27:26
Speaker 3: Maybe yeah, I think the reason he doesn't start is on the defensive end. I appreciate the call because he's not but you know, if Robinson's not gonna score, then you're gonna you know, Robinson came off the bench at BYU and was their leading scorer, so maybe you know, I don't know. I mean the starting lineup to me, I mean were we were ahead first ten minutes a game.

00:27:47
Speaker 2: So I don't think it was the starting lineup necessarily that that was the issue.

00:27:51
Speaker 7: A lot of times when you bench a guy at this point, you worry about his confidence, especially a guy like that though, but with Robinson, he's at least done it. So if you're gonna try it, that's one guy I think that would be able to accept the coaching. Well, I'm not saying they should do it, but across the board, his stats were better last year at by you everything you look at as a six man, maybe he'd be open to it. I don't know if it worked, but if there's one guy that might be willing to try, it's a guy who's six point.

00:28:15
Speaker 3: I mean, he's done it before. That's that. That is a that's a that's a fair point.

00:28:19
Speaker 2: Uh.

00:28:20
Speaker 5: You know, Lamont Butler did everything he possibly could last night to help that. He's he's the heart and soul of this team, man.

00:28:25
Speaker 3: But he did have I do have to say we have a tendency when we get down in the second half, we try to go one on one.

00:28:33
Speaker 2: Which is not this team strength. Nope.

00:28:35
Speaker 3: And Butler had three straight possessions. He tried to get to the rim, missed a layup, and got blocked twice. Like three was three straight possessions where he tried to just take a guy and I'm not I get it. He's trying to make something happen. But I don't think Drew that's what we're good at.

00:28:52
Speaker 7: No, And that just showed how bad the offense has gotten. It got to that point. I thought what Butler did best last night, not that it mattered because they lost by so much, but defensively, he had four steals and they were pretty impressive steals. I mean he went in there and just took those away all four times. It was some of the best defense he's played. He didn't play good end. You're right, who's up next?

00:29:11
Speaker 4: Joseph?

00:29:12
Speaker 6: Joseph?

00:29:12
Speaker 2: How are you? Joseph?

00:29:16
Speaker 1: Morning, guys, I'm tired this morning. A long game last night, I think.

00:29:20
Speaker 2: It was it was two hours.

00:29:24
Speaker 3: The reviews, let me say this, they gotta stop with these reviews. Anytime it might have been a foul to the face, like they there were like eight reviews, that's what in the second half.

00:29:34
Speaker 2: That's way too many.

00:29:35
Speaker 3: The only foul, in my opinion, that should have been reviewed was the car pulling him down.

00:29:40
Speaker 2: I understand why you review that.

00:29:42
Speaker 3: One, but all the rest of them were he might have gotten touched in New Fate, like, you gotta stop.

00:29:46
Speaker 6: That out of bounds. I don't think they got it right after review.

00:29:49
Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean you gotta stop that. Go ahead, man, Sorry, Shandon, we got I'm sorry, say your phone I don't know, must have been in the snow or something.

00:30:01
Speaker 2: We got it. We couldn't.

00:30:02
Speaker 5: It was breaking up, and there were a couple of times like Kentucky were trying to get back in it, and then the review would like kill all the momentum.

00:30:09
Speaker 3: You know, the reviews were it's too many, and then they get in this habit. I think when they do it, then they feel like the coach is like, why don't you review this? Why would you review this?

00:30:17
Speaker 2: And then they feel like they have to review everything, which takes forever.

00:30:20
Speaker 7: Yeah, oh, Dug shallows an apology. I've made fun of him forever for being the review guy. But that crew last night was at the monitor most of the game.

00:30:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, a little bit of a change real quick. But have you been watching these fires in California?

00:30:33
Speaker 6: I saw an image today that's crow Is that bad till this morning?

00:30:36
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:30:36
Speaker 3: They said eighty mile per hour gust of winds have made it, and like they don't know which direction it's going to go. The Los Angeles Fire Department asked for like, if you're a fireman in the cities around and you're not doing anything, will you come help. That's a little worrisome because it's like, oh no, you don't even have looks.

00:30:55
Speaker 2: It looks off. I mean, it looks scary. It looks like something out of a movie.

00:30:58
Speaker 7: I saw a picture from a flo coming into lax and it looked like Armageddon out their window, out towards wherever the fires are wild.

00:31:05
Speaker 3: And then you know Steve Gutenberg's out on the road trying to help people. It's like Steve Gutenberg are official spokesman for the fires.

00:31:11
Speaker 2: I mean, I you know he was.

00:31:13
Speaker 3: But they said people got so scared, and you understand this, They got so scared that they just jumped out of their car and went running and left their car in the street. But then the problem was people can't get out because you've blocked the roads with your car. So they were taking bulldozers. Did you see this? And just because Gutenberg was like, if you're gonna leave your car, at least leave the keys in it, they weren't doing that.

00:31:38
Speaker 2: They took bulldozers and just bulldozed the cars off the road.

00:31:42
Speaker 5: Man.

00:31:43
Speaker 3: So like all these were just like there's piles of cars on the side of the rod because people just had gotten up. But imagine how terrified you have to be to jump out of your car and start running on the interstate.

00:31:54
Speaker 5: Yeah, they said they're moving so fast. It's three football fields a minute are being burned up. Three football fields a minute. I mean, that's that is crazy. It is crazy because those strong winds are just there's no you can they can't even drop the uh the fire stuff on the flame because they because the winds just blow the stuff everywhere, you know what I mean.

00:32:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, they fire scary.

00:32:16
Speaker 3: Yeah, because these are like neighborhoods. This is not like out in the Canadian wilderness.

00:32:21
Speaker 7: This is like neighborhood and you're helpless, just really relying on the weather to throw you something.

00:32:26
Speaker 6: Ow would you do?

00:32:27
Speaker 3: Like I saw a thing that there was a guy Shendon that said he had to. They told him, you have five minutes to get out of your house. What would you take? He said, like like they said, grab some stuff. You got five minutes to get out of your house. So you had five minutes to get out of your house. And what are you taking?

00:32:43
Speaker 4: Pictures and myself? That's it, that's it, that's.

00:32:47
Speaker 2: It, pictures in yourself. What about you? What do you take it?

00:32:49
Speaker 5: I think when you said the comply mind, get grabbed my medicine, my financials, and maybe my hard drive. And I'm walking out with that.

00:32:55
Speaker 6: Your hard drive?

00:32:56
Speaker 5: Yeah, on my computer.

00:32:57
Speaker 2: What's on your hard drive?

00:32:58
Speaker 5: All my business stuff and personal stuff?

00:33:01
Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't have the cloud.

00:33:03
Speaker 5: I'm taking the hard drive.

00:33:06
Speaker 6: Are you just taking only the hard drive? Just a hard drive?

00:33:09
Speaker 2: They say you got five minutes where you're going.

00:33:12
Speaker 6: I'm gonna I'm gonna get my wife, make sure she's out.

00:33:15
Speaker 2: That's a good start. You just leaving your dogs in there? Oh?

00:33:18
Speaker 5: I forgot about my dogs?

00:33:19
Speaker 6: Yeah, cowboy hat?

00:33:20
Speaker 2: You just you cowboy take the cowboy hat?

00:33:23
Speaker 3: Well, I mean were just by that cowboy cost a lot of money.

00:33:28
Speaker 7: That I'm not a big items guy, so I I mean, if I saw something on the way out but I'm nothing comes on my mind, I'd run and make sure I had it.

00:33:36
Speaker 3: I don't know if this is sad, but like, I don't know if i'd take anything, Like I've got pictures on my phone now of everyone.

00:33:44
Speaker 9: But like old family photos from Yeah, I don't know that's what I'm talking I.

00:33:49
Speaker 2: Just I think I just leave. I don't know what I mean. There's stuff I would want to take, but I can't take. I would look stupid carrying a bag of shoes or like, you know, I wouldn't.

00:34:01
Speaker 4: You have to take what you want.

00:34:02
Speaker 9: It doesn't matter if you look stra No, but I would feel your escape, Yeah, your house is I think.

00:34:06
Speaker 2: I just feel like.

00:34:07
Speaker 3: If I'm alive, then I'm okay, because like I do sort of live in existence where at any moment, I could just get up and go and I think it'd be all right.

00:34:19
Speaker 5: You'd probably want to grab your medicine, and.

00:34:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, I would need to get my seizure medication. I would assume though if I lost that someone would give it. Like, I don't feel like if I didn't have my caizure medication in the world would just.

00:34:29
Speaker 2: Be like all right, dude, you're on your own now.

00:34:32
Speaker 5: I think you grab that and your laptop. You think you'd walk out.

00:34:35
Speaker 9: We run these PSAs all the time on the show. You're supposed to have a go bag? Do you have a go bag?

00:34:41
Speaker 2: No? Who has a go bag? Well?

00:34:43
Speaker 4: I think that's what the PSA the PA PSA set.

00:34:46
Speaker 9: It says like, if we need to get out in case of a family emergency, you need to have a bag that has all of it.

00:34:51
Speaker 2: They want to stab a bag like at all times, ready to go.

00:34:55
Speaker 4: Your go bag?

00:34:55
Speaker 2: Does anyone do that?

00:34:57
Speaker 4: I don't think you have a go bag.

00:35:00
Speaker 2: What's in the go bag? Shoes, just an extra pair of clothes. Wow, I didn't even think about having a go bag. Maybe I need a go bag.

00:35:11
Speaker 5: I need to go bag.

00:35:12
Speaker 3: It's a little scantily. It's a little like doomsday though, if you like. But then I guess for those people, they probably wish they had a go bag. All right, all right, we'll take a break. He if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, it's KSR, Welcome back, Tuckie Sports Radio Court Physical therapy. If you're starting exercising, which I know a lot of you are ko rt dot com court physical therapy. No, no needs to be in pain. What's your name, young man, James? You don't need to be in pain? Oh yeah, there's no reason being pain. I only you need to go to court physical therapy. Maybe your dad does, he can be in pain. Court dot com. That's k RT dot com over seventy locations around the state with court dot com. Apparently they call them bugout bags. I guess cause you're bugging out as you're scared.

00:36:00
Speaker 6: Is that what?

00:36:01
Speaker 3: Uh?

00:36:01
Speaker 2: But they're called bug out bags.

00:36:04
Speaker 5: I guess maybe if it was in my area, I might go ahead and put one together to throw my car just in case. But I don't have one like normally.

00:36:10
Speaker 3: Apparently they say you need one one person rights, Matt. I don't think you would need a bag, because don't. Isn't half of what you own in the backseat of your car already?

00:36:19
Speaker 6: Great?

00:36:19
Speaker 2: It's a really good point.

00:36:21
Speaker 6: We should change the question for you. What if you had five minutes to get out of your.

00:36:23
Speaker 2: Car trouble, Then I'm really in trouble.

00:36:26
Speaker 6: The possessions are you getting this?

00:36:27
Speaker 2: There's a lot of.

00:36:28
Speaker 3: Stuff my you know, my medical records, although they're long gone golf clubs.

00:36:32
Speaker 6: The WrestleMania chair.

00:36:34
Speaker 2: Yeah, the WrestleMania chair.

00:36:36
Speaker 3: It's gonna be tough by Jar Pickles for Pittsburgh, you know, the the key to the Somerset.

00:36:42
Speaker 2: Key to Somerset.

00:36:43
Speaker 3: Speaking of towns, did you see what happened in you know, in London they had a school a city council meeting.

00:36:49
Speaker 2: It's trend. It's it's viral all over the country.

00:36:53
Speaker 3: It's people very upset about the shooting and they get up and they you know, they have public comment. People just used it as a chance to uh, they were going at him. One guy was looked at the mayor and he was like, do you even live here? Is this something we can watch?

00:37:09
Speaker 6: By ton?

00:37:10
Speaker 2: I saw it on on TikTok.

00:37:11
Speaker 3: You can like it's like six parts and in one of the parts, the guy just looks at the mayor and goes, I don't even think.

00:37:17
Speaker 2: You live here. And he was like I do live here, and he was like, no, you don't. And I was like, this is this because you know.

00:37:23
Speaker 3: It's one of these things that people are understandably upset about the guy getting shot in his house, but now they're like bringing up all the grievances that they might have and uh, it was quite a quite.

00:37:33
Speaker 7: A scene speaking their piece, like uh, definite speaking their piece. But where was the old speaker piece used to It was Whitesburg's Electric County. I do you know, I mean, I understand why those people are upset.

00:37:44
Speaker 3: We talked about it, and now it turns out it was city police going into the county, which technically they're maybe not even.

00:37:52
Speaker 2: Supposed to do, and so it's just it's a lot.

00:37:55
Speaker 5: Well still, you know, we've talked about the fact they did it on the middle of the night or late at night, when you really you could have waited until the next morning for a weed eater. All this dimmed over a stolen alleged weed eater that they already had captured the guy who did guy was already in jail.

00:38:10
Speaker 2: That's that's what's crazy. Who's nack ship. Let's go to Madison, Madison. How are you?

00:38:15
Speaker 10: How you doing, Matt?

00:38:17
Speaker 2: I'm good.

00:38:18
Speaker 10: Hope you I hope you've got enough snow. I got more than that bargain for you. Okay, But I got a couple of things you said. I think I read correctly. You said on a postgame show if we go twelve and six in the conference. In eight and ten we get in the tournament? What seed would y'all see us getting? And two? Who would we need to root for in the Alabama South Carolina game.

00:38:49
Speaker 11: Well, we're getting a little heavy and we're still about thirteen.

00:38:52
Speaker 3: There's still a lot of games left. I think, in general, appreciate the call. I mean, I'm gonna be rooting against all the good teams because we want to have a chance to uh to move to move on. Auburn's winning the SEC, by the way, last night confirmed it. Yeah, I mean Auburn's winning the SEC. They may only lose a couple like Auburn's. Auburn is the best team in the country in my opinion. Do you agree with that?

00:39:15
Speaker 2: Yeah?

00:39:15
Speaker 6: I caught the tail end last night where Texas tried to find some magic. Auburn won it.

00:39:19
Speaker 7: But the two full games I've seen at Auburn they were a little earlier in the year. I mean, it was just unbelievable. Broom is so good. Broo would block a shot, go the other way, dunk on someone, come back, block a shot, Brood go out of three.

00:39:30
Speaker 2: He's amazing.

00:39:31
Speaker 3: And did you see the perfect example of referees doing too much. Broom gets smacked in the face. Did you with like a minute and a half to go, did you see that he gets smacked in the face. He looks at the referee and he's like, he smacked me in the face. He doesn't call it, so the dude just hits a fourteen foot fade away jumper on the way down.

00:39:49
Speaker 2: The court goes he smacked me in the face, and they gave Broom a technical.

00:39:52
Speaker 5: Yeah, get it to give him a technical.

00:39:54
Speaker 3: I mean that was like, I mean, I'm not taking up for Auburn, but that was like I hate when referees make a mistake and then punished the player for their mistake, and.

00:40:02
Speaker 5: They showed the replay. Broom didn't cuss him or anything. He just said, he hit me in the face.

00:40:06
Speaker 2: It was and he did hit him in the face. Yeah, he hit him right in the face.

00:40:09
Speaker 4: Who's next, Mark Anthony?

00:40:11
Speaker 2: Mark Anthony, how.

00:40:11
Speaker 5: Are you, hey?

00:40:13
Speaker 11: Fellows? Good morning, Matthew. I have to agree with you about the sound the end, but it's been that way forever. If I'm trying to watch Darrin open them in the studio, got a cranking way up and then a commercial comes on, bloke, head off. They need to stick to damn thing. They got my money, so they need to I understand. I kind of don't understand how the fowls were twenty five to twenty and yet the free throws were thirty eight to nineteen.

00:40:42
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's aggression.

00:40:45
Speaker 3: It's it's our free throws or our fouls were often like you know, going after loose balls or like getting you know, getting bumped out on the top of the key. Their fouls were when they went up to shoot, they went into the defender and like you.

00:41:02
Speaker 2: Know, when referees call that you have to do it. I want I encourage you to go back and look.

00:41:07
Speaker 3: If you watch and see on layups how we move away from contact and they moved towards contact, well.

00:41:16
Speaker 11: It's probably so. And rebounding we have got to fix. We've just got although the rebounding wasn't It was like seven rebounds apart, which not outrageous, but it's just I mean, when you need to have one, like when we got it down to fath and just could not close it any further because we just couldn't.

00:41:33
Speaker 2: Couldn't get a rebound.

00:41:36
Speaker 3: Pope mentioned that on the end Pope said in big plays, couldn't get the rebound, appreciate the call.

00:41:41
Speaker 2: Did you think it was a walk drough when he slid down the court?

00:41:44
Speaker 7: Yes, you know, I get you give him a little bit of room to slide. He went half the lead of the court. I mean one of the ones where I'm thinking, what are these guys doing tonight?

00:41:54
Speaker 2: So the rule says you can slide, but you can't flip over. I thought it looked like he flipped.

00:42:02
Speaker 3: But still there has to be like a reasonableness, like if you slide from one end of the court, like it's a slipping slide.

00:42:07
Speaker 2: At some point it's got to be a walk.

00:42:09
Speaker 5: Right, And you could see Coach Pope on the sideline was losing his stuff during that moment. I thought that might get his first technical, but it didn't come.

00:42:15
Speaker 2: It didn't come. You wouldn't you think you'll get one this year?

00:42:18
Speaker 10: No?

00:42:18
Speaker 3: No, yeah, Mormons don't get technicals. We will take a break come back. I re number two wingsday here at Ko's Bar,
