Hey everyone, It's Tuesday, March the twenty two, twenty eleven, and you're listening to the Giant Bomb Cast. I'm Ryan Davis joining me today in top form mister Vinnie Caravella. Hey, top hat, how's it? How's it going? One year headphones? You're listening for Special Stake and losing my hearing. I noticed it at the panel when you guys could hear stuff, and then I couldn't. Yeah, I felt really weird. And now I'm starting to notice it more and more. I think we were in an odd position with where the speakers were. I think it's very very directional. Like I think I was just worried I was catching being on the outside edge. I think I was like catching some of that side speaker there. I don't know. I wouldn't worry about it because I have terrible hearing, I know, which that's what freaked me out the most. When I was like, what are you saying, You're like, oh, he said, this is I know You're hearing is terrible. Uh So, yeah, I'm worried. Yeah, I mean, you'd have to have to be a backslide, you know, traveling under duress, put on both on here you go strap it on, get in. I figured I can even it out right if I if I keep one ear off and then this one re all loud, it'll basically just like if I hear better around this year. Yeah, that'll fix it too. Yeah, just works. Talk loudly into the other. I need to balance it out and then push the game for both of them back up. Also here and ready to strap it on, mister Jeff Gerstman. Hello, how's it going? That's good? Sometimes I have trouble hearing people in loud in crowds and stuff like like if people are talking in a bar, like sometimes serning and like picking out a voice. Yeah, sometimes not gonna be that can if it's like a high pitched voice. Yeah, raised the hand hewn, Yeah, when are you gonna start making noise? I can hear it. I can hear it. My hands up with the same plot looks like rubbing his eyes and coughing, rounding out the quartet. Mister Bill of Health himself, Brad Shoemaker, how are you doing, sir? You you caught what everyone else was cooking last week? I got strapped on last week. You certainly did. That's a fun one, huh. I think it's the same thing you had, I think, so, so you know how that goes. Just then just kind of passed around, just days of like aches and chills and fever, and yeah, I hadn't had it. I hadn't had a good fever like that. Like I'd been sick, but I didn't had like a proper in bed and delirious all day debilitating. Yeah, he's like I can't can't move, can't sit up, can't even get to the store to get the drugs, to care enough to try to eat or knock me out. Oh yeah, definitely. I'm just gonna lie here, gentlemen. We're here. We're back, finally here, thank god. No more. Yeah, we've got We've got no trade shows, no lengthy trips, no corporate parties, just just we're just actually hosting a corporate party for in Texas. Yeah, loosened. That's me to come out do fifteen minutes. And you know, it's like they gave me a bunch of names of people in the company and I gotta try to work them into the acts, and well, you know it's like, well whatever, for thirty five thousand dollars, I'll do it. But it's just like seeing Dale Rogers, you cocksucker. I was drinking in the back with at garbon hams Ron and Davis. Those guys, man, those guys sure are horrible drunks. It's true. We had to have an intervention last right. Now, are you doing doing all right? Fantastic? Yeah? How are you doing? I'm great? Wow? Yeah, all right, I'm fantastic. Then I'm I mean, I'm on the It's it's been a it's been a rough month or so. Okay, so I'm feeling on the mend. And that's good. Done with this roller coaster, Yeah, true, with it just gonna everything's gonna be awesome. Now gone to merrill ground. Indeed, system I took my ride. Uh yeah, doing all right. I am looking forward to stability. I like a I like a good system, a little routine, good clean system. Yeah, a little bit of the same thing every day. Yeah, that's trying to refine a system and then something comes in like you know, a bulldozer and and messes up your systems, right, whatever whatever you may call it. Uh yeah, what's called the monster. I installed Dragon Age to the second one and uh start follow up two Dragon H two two and started playing some of that on the PC personal computer, and uh, you snaked a new video card. I saw I did, so I thought my my computer was running. Apparently my video card doesn't do Direct x eleven and apparently Direct x ten and Direct x eleven are very similar. So I had direct x eleven enabled and then the way they phrase it is enabled if available. So I had that running and it wasn't running that well, I'm on machine. Uh so norm let me borrows. Yeah, just kind of frame rate stuff, and uh, it's real weird because that game seems to run really fast. And I remember when we did the quick look for the console, looked like it was going really quickly. It seems maybe a little bit slowed down, but it runs so fast that like when it drops frames, it's like guys just exploded for no reason. Like it's just like things are happening so quickly, like fires just raining out of these skys. You didn't even see the swords strike, yeah, and people vanity rogues are vanishing and fires handling out of the sky and just I'm like clicking and if the framework goes low enough, it's just dudes exploding here and stuff happening there. So that's awesome. It's weird because it just feels like you're not in control of anything. You're just like, all right, well I'm gonna unpaus it. Man, everybody's dead. So I think that's one of the things that Drag A two really addresses, is that sense of control. So not having that well kind of. So I put this new video card in and apparently it's just Direct X eleven. Support is really bad on the PC version of a who knows what's running on three sixty like Direct X but on the seven. Yeah, so on the PC apparently it's just poorly supported. Is the word on the internet streets? Is it just is that just a DA two thing or is it just Direct x eleven across the board? Is not? I don't know enough about it, but it sounds like it's a Dragon age thing. So there's beta drivers out for my video card that I have in there now which address some of that issue. So I'm running the beta drivers and it seems a little bit better. But it's fun to be running beta video car drivers. Yeah. Well, there was real bad stuff where just like swaps of textures which is black and that that's how supposed that the blight, uh and so you rotate the camera and they start doing we don't know the meaning of. So it fixed that, but the framework it's still not as high as you'd expect it. And on the direct ext nine it runs fine. So it's weird. I don't know. I don't feel strongly one way or the other. It's Dragon age two. Yet I do see what people are starting to say about you kind of revisit these zones over and over again. That could get a little annoying. My main issue so far, and I'm about ten hours in, I've like already lost the thread. So they just like they just stack up these quests you just talked to it kind of like an MMO. You're just stacking up all these quests, and then as soon as you leave an area takes you to this kind of main map, and when you hover over zones that you can go questing in, it'll list the quests, but not that the description of anything. So if you didn't pay attention to what, you know, what the hell is duty? I don't know. I'm just gonna go in there and kill a bunch of dudes and then it's gonna say you completed this quest. You're like Okay, So that's kind of where I'm at now. Just accept every quest I can from everybody, hit the main map, go to the zone that has the biggest list of stuff to do there, kill everybody there, and then it's like, all right, well that's done. So is that always all the quests are kill everybody here? So far it's it's either kill everybody here and leave, or kill everybody here and pick up the piece of loot you need. And then you pop back out to that map and it tells you, Okay, now you need to go here for this quest. You know. I was like, okay, I go here and it's like, oh, that's the turn in for it, and like, I guess I solve that quest. So I'm like, usually I'm very on top of that stuff, like the whole story narrative, but the way they present it, I'm just kind of like, I don't know everything's going on. What do you think of that that overmap? I don't mind it. It makes the world feel a lot smaller than than maybe kind of traversing. I mean, Dragon Age the origins had that kind of same thing, except the zones felt a lot bigger. Yeah, these feels traveling you did, but it also had that map. You'd walk outside his zone and then you'd hit some other other spot. It felt a lot more connected though. Somehow it felt like as you were moving east, you would continue moving east and this is just very kind of symbolic of where you are. Yeah, this is kind of near this other thing. Yeah, or like you're starting in this town and then zoom out, you just warped this mountain kind of thing. It's streamlined for sure, and that's you know, that's what the folks say. The other kind of thing that bothers me is I'm picking up all this lute, and you can only put armor and apparel on your guy. It seems like everybody else is locked to some kind of like mass effect style default armor. And I don't know if you can pick one of those full suits up later on. But I'm a warrior and I have kind of the best warrior gear, which was uh, the Blood Dragon armor for me, which was some unlocked somehow, I don't know. Tripping over Twitter or you know, looking at Facebook or something, I think that's just because I had Dragon Age. I think that's just having Dragon Age, which is starting to get really weird now because the Blood. Dragon armor was an unlock in Mass Effect, which was like, hey, we're gonna tie this into Dragon Age. Yeah, but then in Dragon Age, is it the same armor as you had in Mass Effects? It's well, it's got the same pattern on it, it's got like the blood on it. It doesn't look like a space suit. Neither did. No, it's not the same, but it's it's just weird, like it's coming back around to be a now an unlock in I also got, and I also got the the dead Space yes for putting in your code online or did it just read your save on the three six? You know what? So I don't. I've not not even put in dead Space two into my system. I have played the first dead Space, so I'm not sure where is happening where it's pulling that from. But I started up the games like here's you get. These things just threw up their hands. At some point it was just unlock everything for everybody. So that armor is really good. So back to my point, which is I've got this really good armor which feels like it's way beyond anything i'm finding right now, like just twice as high armor as anything I'm picking up. But I'm a warrior, and I'm picking up all this other stuff that's like, oh, this is great for a may is great for a rogue, is great for whatever. I can't do anything with it but sell it because the other members of my party can't wear it. So it's kind of like a little takes the joy out of it picking up loot when you're like, well, I'm not going to find anything comparable for another couple of levels here because everything's kind of lame, and all the stuff that is good that I can't wear I have to just basically sell because my party can't use it. It makes you feel a little bit lame, Like you know, a great magician, you can do weapons though weapons and shields and amulets and stuff like that. But I don't know. That feels a little Yeah, I feel a little handcuffed. Yeah, that seems like a choice where yeah, it's it's all about them trying to streamline it more. But if you're gonna have the party there at all, like, let me let me decide if I want to tinker with it, because I'm just gonna I'm gonna auto level everyone. I'm not gonna muck around with the stats like that. But it's weird, Like I kind of felt like it worked in you know, people make the same army. The argument that's what they did in Mass Effect too, right for Mass Effect one is they got rid of all that stuff, But in Mass Effect Too they also got rid of picking up loot like apparrell items in general. So it's like it's not like you picked up guns and everything and suddenly like nobody could use them, and they got rid of the inventory for that man, Yeah, yeah, pretty much. And this just said it's like, well, we kept the inventory, but you can't really use it. Consider this, like with all of that gear, they would have had to have made that stuff work with every mage that you can possibly have in your party. I'm like two hours into that game and I already have two majes that I can choose from. Yeah, Whereas it's like with with the Hawk, it's either male or female. It's gonna be that same basic model. So I do like the way that they looks like they put more work into making this stuff look unique. I got this pretty sick shield and the armor looks good, so it's more stylized. In general, I like they find I feel like they gave dragon age. Oh look with these games, I still don't like the way the elves look. I mean it's just like post Avatar elve syndrome. Well, they definitely they weirdoed them up. Like if you go back and look at the dragon Age one, I like the way that they made them look. Really they just look like dudes with point They look like comic con elves. Now they look like Okay, no, these are not just makeup elves. They look a little deformed, which is kind of scary, racist, racist motherfuck elves. Elves look deformed and dragon age too, But what about dwarves. They gross you out. They look the same, you know, like little people now like like big little people. Yeah, I don't want them using the same drinking fountain as well. They can't too short, great, just go use the tall drinking fountain. Yeah uh so yeah, you know, like I said that, ten hours in just kind of like running down the list of errands at it's basically like shopping. But there's also there's also like, if you know, to be fair, if you do lose the thread that game has in game documentation for what you've done this far, and they have a codex, you're saying, yeah, they do Uh, you hit start and there's a central radio mania that that looks kind of familiar, right it is? Yeah, uh not in the PC. Do you do your menu? Think you have like a fawn icon bar at everything right, yeah, at the bottom, which is uh. The game does not seem hard so far. I'm playing on normal. Maybe that was a mistake, but it's a lot of just kind of like mash one and until it recharges and then click the right button until you're playing as a warrior. Yeah, you're liking it. I am, Like I said, dude's exploding. It's kind of weird. I mean, obviously it's their stylistic choice for that stuff, and sometimes it's really fun. It just seems odd. Guy, just I feel like into action or like, yeah, the action is now finally matching the blood shed yeah, of of Dragon Age. It's like I find myself pausing it less. I haven't had a problem with it yet, and once I encounter our problem, I will probably start pausing and dictating stuff. I wasn't the first one, but this one just seems like it seems like they want me to just go in there and not pause it, Like they just want me to swing that sword at a dude as many times. Yeah, and like don't don't take your time because man, because you're gonna have a lot more of these fights. Yeah. So yeah, okay, so far, like again, not strongly one way or the other, but we'll see as time goes by. Ten hours in so far, I've heard so many different play through stories of that thing. Yeah, I have no idea where I am. You might be, Yeah, like in a half hour, I like I said, I lost the thread somewhere, whereas like after that we did in the quick like after that, spend a year here and like we'll move on. I remember all that stuff, and now it's just I don't I think I gotta go return an amulet to somebody. I think that's the main place. Yeah, but sometimes sometimes I'm on a mountain. Sometimes you're up on a hill. Sometimes you're in a cave. Yeah, or this or the the other hill right or the other. No, there's just one case. One. I saw some people complaining that there are dungeons in that game that are identical, like different dungeons, like prefab kind of construction style, the same thing. Yeah, I've heard that too, but it's I haven't played enough or become familiar enough to even recognize that this is a place instead of a list of things I need to do. This was counting on. Yeah, just kind of like, oh, hover over this, there's five things to do here. This looks from I don't know, this kind of looks familiar. I'm too busy watching dudes explode. This guy's just blowing up constantly. I don't know what's happening, assassins. It's hot on the scenes, blowing up. I don't know what this group of enemies supposed to be. They say assassin. There was another group of assassins? Here Are they all the same? Guy? Know? I wish? Uh, what else is going on in the paper? There's that I played some retributions some more hammer uh retribution which is the warm two retributions you standalone add on or two. Jumped into a little bit of that. Uh, that seems really cool sometimes, what I mean, dragon age, I think I should just quit out of this. She talked to my horn about that. Sometimes made it three times. Yeah, well, there's like five campaigns in there. It's kind of crazy. Uh So I'm actually a lot of shit into those games. Those are well made games. Yeah, but I think it's different than the other two iterations in that series, where I think it's this is a little more RTS and little a little less just kind of hero units, is what I hear. I made it that far small squad stuff. Yeah, a little less of that and a little more like, oh, you know you'll have re sources, build build an army. Uh. But then that's basically popped into some of that played. Some of that got pretty much into like the first tutorial mission and then some sort of gas powered hammer and then yeah, and then I was like, should probably play Dragon Age. Are there powered hammers in those games? There's powered ount know, man, it's like a rocket powered hammer or something crazy. Yeah sounds great, but you know you're pretty far away. So again dudes exploding there. But it makes more sense in there when guys explode. Uh, try a little more bulletstorm and then called it a day. I haven't managed to fish that either. I don't know what I mean, aside from the getting sick part, Like, yeah, I think I would have if GDC and pacts and didn't roll up, but it kind of distracted me long enough where I was I was really feeling it, and then I was like, oh, now, times really a strong pool. I'm in a different place, bulletstorm. It's just it's not you, it's me. It's me. It's that man who played you doesn't exist anymore. We've we've growed up, we've grown apart. Yeah, I can you tell me about this this thermisy you're rocking here? Dave had a thermis and he said, I poured my coffee and like eight thirty and I pop it open at four o'clock in the afternoon. It's piping hot. So I said, all right, I'm gonna buy it. And I'm gonna see it's twenty bucks zo jerushi. It's got Japanese text on the side of it. They also make rice cookers. I cookering. It's very good. I hear good things about the rice cookers. Uh so yeah, claim not false. It seems to be. Are you guys getting paid for this on the side? What just happens? No? No, because it's this thing is awesome. Dave has one of these two and I'm super impressed by by this. As I use it. Thy Caramella from giant bomb dot Com lock on it say, can't throw this gun at you? So yeah, it actually does work? Will it keep cool cold beverage is cold, yes, all right, I think will then I don't know, only on high the thermis technology has moved, like with battery rechargeable battery technology, so like my my memories of a thermis are late. One my members of thermis is like this says Duke's hazard on the side. Yeah, but like I don't know, like my apple juice or whatever is lukewarm by the time I open it. And same thing with rechargeable batteries, where they like rechargable batteries kind of suck. Yeah, but apparently we rechargeable batteries are good now. They are pretty amazing really Yeah, so yeah, I try to tell you this months ago. And also thermis technology actually works now, so the Japanese have figured it out. Yeah, it's because it's got a slim form factor. I think it's it's the seal on the lid because I have so many coffee carriers and things that like have a lid. But if I would if I would turn it upside down, but it's still like kind of oozes around the seal, right, yeah, it would be it would be game over. So being able to like have this end of the day throw it back in my bag and ask for it my name. No, seriously, are you guys? Are we getting I get in on this? Being paid in yeah, you have to start drinking coffee, man, Being paid in rice. There's only just water in here now keeps the water cold all day. I know two members of the Wishy media family have been using them, and like them, I want to get in on this, and I just wanted to, well, come in different colors. They do come in different colors. Is there a travel size? There are smaller size? I was. I was just concerned about getting one that would look too much like the others. If it's gonna be you know, multiple in the in the office, well, I was. The last thing that is is fantastic about this is I get coffee in the morning and then we get up and we have to walk away from her, you know, just quick look or something, and then I come back and all that coffee getting poured right down the drain. What can I do about it? It's what are we getting? I don't even get this for free? I just tell Dave's nothing to just belief in a product, man, man, and the product that money will come to you. Belief in a product. Let's get paid. That's it, all right? And you know any other games? Something else? No? Thess how was the Adjustment Girl all right? Yeah? Yeah, smartly written. Matt Damon's good. Did you uh are familiar with the Dick original? No? Okay, but that dude's got to run out of short stories at some point, right, he's been dead. No, there is a finance suppoint. No, No, they're gonna he wrote Philip K. Dick loved amphetamines almost almost as much as he loved like paranoid, weirdo sci fi delusions, almost as if one led to the other. You could say that, Jeff, you could say that his appetite for meta amphetamines uh fueled much of his writing. Uh so dude wrote a lot. Dude would just hold up in a cabin and just like right for fucking months. But I do you think some of these movies that are are based off of stuff are based off of like a three paid short story? Yeah totally. Let's let's flesh this out. Let's make this not at all about what it was originally about. So my Adjustment Bureau review is smart dialogue on the whole thing. But the deliveries and some of the dialogues are conversations, pretty funny. How's uh, what's it? Emily Blunt? She's cute. Yeah, she's attractive, fine actress. I don't know. I like to look for a butt. She Once she's on screen, the movie gets a little better if you know what I'm saying. Know what I'm saying. That's a weekend. Jeff Gersman, Hello, You and Brad Shoemaker are just got just finished moments ago lengthy live stream of Chrisis Too. It was like an hour that kid, it's not a quick I think an hour ten minutes. Yeah, I know, that's that's quick. You guys. You guys were in it for a while, so yeah, I don't. And you also just wrote and posted a full review of Crisis Too. Both of these things are you are two for two, so I'm not sure how much you guys want to talk more about Chrisis Too. Yeah, it's it's Crisis He was now available in stores now it's uh PS three PC Xbox three six. I haven't seen the PS three version. Heard some bad things about the demo and heard some some bad things about you know, like the line count and all that stuff that if you blow it up to teddyp it starts to look a little rough part noise at line counters. Yeah, I know that game is pretty cool, Like the suit stuff does what it's supposed to do, and that's provide you with a unique experience that doesn't feel exactly like every other first person shooter that has come out over the last few years. It's not quite as open as maybe maybe the original Crisis, and it definitely feels like they have try to kind of split the difference between let's say, you know, your your call of duty, like your kind of corridor, like we're on a rail, let's let's go, this is the direction guided experience, and then giving you these open, more crisis the areas where it's like, okay, there are five guys here, what are you going to do about it? So kind of split trying to split the difference between those two styles. Yes, and it sounds like that maybe made it a little disjoyed at times. Yeah, definitely, there are parts where, yeah, it feels like it's jerking back and forth between the two things. But but generally speaking, uh, it does both things relatively well. And it's just fun to stealth. It's just fun to to turn in, you know, mostly invisible and play like the Predator and slip up behind dudes and stab them. And when you play, do you make the predator noises? Sometimes? Sometimes I do. Yeah. I hurt my ankle over the weekend making those noises. In fact, that's number one cause of ankle injuries. I know the Predator, I know, yeah, And it's it's it's entertaining to go through and use the suit to just kind of toy around with guys, and by the end of that game, you're so much more powerful than than most of the enemies you're facing. That Uh, it's it's almost silly. It kind of you kind of break the game by the end. How does it look that it set your three sixty ablaze? It looks fine, It looks okay, Oh, it probably looks better than looks good. It looks good. Yeah, the frame rate is not great. And that is where we are, Brads in the three are we now qualifying three sixty stuff? As we say yes for an Xbox game? I guess yeah. I think like artistically it looks all right, and there's you know, maybe a little too much repetition on the enemy design. Uh, squids and robots, suids and robot suits that you know that they don't look quite as cool as maybe that sounds, but they still look all right. Yeah, decent lighting. Like I said, I wish that the frame rate was was more stable. That would that would make all the difference in the world. There's also some some texture kind of pop in like level of detail stuff and objects that kind of one. So we saw a little of the PC version when it bittered up for the lighter frame rate, but better lighting looks really nice. I think trucks on the PC they slow it down a lot for the for the console, which even you know you're playing with the mouse and frame right stuff specifically, it just looks a lot smooth. It seems like you're even running faster, and obviously the turn radius on the mouse it's a lot faster, but it just seemed like everything was whipping around a lot faster when you're on the PC, and then when you went back to the CON so I was like kind of metered a little bit, and you know, I think I might have just been stealthing more when you're playing three sixty. Uh see, seemed it seemed seemed the move yeah on the on the PC. Yeah, some funny thing about that game when you go to the graphics settings, Uh, the only real setting that you can turn on v sync and set resolution, but like the only real setting is like how good do you want to look? And three settings are high, very high, and extreme. There's no medium, So they've gone like McDonald's on that, there is no small. Exactly what do you want if your PC is not at least high? I don't even bother medium and larger. I have a king size PC, California King, so it's a little bit wider. I don't know if that's comparable or not. I think that's a smart move. There's no low setting. Well, it is also maybe a little weird that they don't give you total control over. Yeah, they did not see any kind of advanced button in that game, which was maybe a little strange, but you know, I heard other people talking about having to go into console commands. I figured that was probably the case. Funy setting stuff, I mean, I think it's not even setting like kind of standard for most stuff like anti aliasing and yeah, I mean the first game was the king of that stuff, because I can't remember what the whole scenario was, where like it only worked in d X ten on certain US or something. The first one basically everybody wanted to I think that's what it was. I think it was around the time the Vista came out, but nobody wanted to run it in d X nine whistles and you had to do this like huge Eyeli edit to get all that stuff working. And I heard this, this one doesn't even support eleven, nor does it support ten. It only runs in nine? Is it? That is scuttle? But I forget what the breakdown is because they don't they don't surface that stuff, right, Yeah, yeah, that's something that you could probably look at the box requirements or the Steam requirements or whatever figure it out. But also, no quick saves. Yeah, no quick saves. You know, it's I shrugged my shoulders. I mean, I don't personally care that much either, but it is kind there's kind of an expectation on that platform. Yeah, but well, design game doesn't need quick saves, you know, yeah, designer and that's the sort of stuff that you know, you kind of have to. Yeah, it's a lot of people will kind of do that where they get in this mode of like every game must have quick save. No, that's we need to move forward. Stuck in the past forever. You check point it well, and it's fine, it's well. So the problem is they don't necessarily check point it all that well, especially if you're playing really slowly and steal thing through a lot of stuff. You'll spend half an hour, you know, silently killing all of these guys and then mess up and eat it and be like, oh great, that's here. That's totally sucks. All right, Well then that's a yeah. But I think the solution to that is, you know, better checkpointing not necessarily let you let you save anywhere. We don't really you don't really need it. I could see more of the option of, like, you know, if you have a really kick ass PC and you're like, this is gonna be the game I'm gonna show off to my friends and my wife, like this is why I spent all that money on my PC, and you're like, it looks pretty good, man, I just need to get under the hood and turn on I don't even know what options right Emotropic, yeah, filtering and by linear try got it, buffering, I got to force it at the driver level. Stupid game doesn't do Yeah, I don't know. I need more Giles Giles. Yeah, there were options in Dragon Age two, which I think sometimes I just feel like they make shit up. Needs to tesl tessellate harder, splines, need to particulate way harder, just because to introducing me to the word boca, which I had never Apparently, that is the stuff that goes out of focus in the depth of field. The the stuff that is out of focus is called the boca. That game had some other weird stuff in the options that I was like, what, yeah, all right, sure, I live in the Bocaca Spanish for a mouth. There you go. True again accurate, three for three, killing it, killing it this one. Brad any any of your thoughts of watching Crisis Too for a length. I don't what he said. I think, yeah, yeah, he sumed it up pretty well. I mean I haven't played it really, but you know, the suet powers look fun. The suit powers also make the multiplayer work, you know, the multiplayers very much. Check it out this team deathmatch. Check it out. There are perks. Check it out. You get attachments for your weapons. Like it's very much in the Call of Duty style, but the modern first person shooter with yes, with with with persistent player progression and such yeah, but the suit is what makes it work. The suit is what makes it interesting and how you use it and how you kind of outfit your stuff and your stuff accordingly and if you like that. Stuff like translates from using against AI to using against live dues, not perfectly. You know, when you're when you're cloaks, you're not totally invisible, so you know, if you're it's easier for humans to see you than it is for the AI. Sure, but at the same time, if you're not going around checking every single corner, you're gonna run into these situations where like, oh, that was the time there was a dude cloaked there, but I didn't pay close enough attention to notice him. Sure, now I'm dead. Ah, So the cloak does work. The cloak can be effective, but I almost hate more when they do the thing of like, okay, we have to grossly modify the ability, like I almost rather than leave the fucking ability the same between the multiplayer and the single player and have it be like, well, okay, you know, AI obviously isn't as smart about this stuff, is Well, the one thing they do really change is how much energy is used by your suit and multiplayer versus single player, imagine a lot more, a lot more. Well though it's it's it's different. It seems like it uses less for running, but when your cloaked, it just goes down. That kind of makes sense. Yeah, you can't stick cloaked for for all that long. Is any of your single player stuff come over? Its completely in the mid totally separate, but new game plus. Yeah you can. Yeah. You find a tags and suit upgrades in the single player and those stick with you. So if you want to start over and play it on hardest super Soldier they call it, you can. You can go in with your your good upgrades. Like are there factions or sides or something? Multiplayers? Everybody have suits. Everybody has suits. Okay, Yeah, that's just a conceit that they make. You're all super soldiers. Yeah, you all work for abstergo Okay, everyone's in their own personal animals, right, And Kristen bell is there? Kirsten Belle, Kirsten Belle, Kristen Kristen isn't it's Kristen? Sure? Moving on, Kirsten Dunst, Kirsty Alley. There we go, Okay, nailed it? Four? Yes, Brad and Jeff talk to me about the three DS. There's a three DS right here. Let me let me grow up on it. So, wait, what color is the talking you're talking about three DS? That's its cosmo black? And what's the blue called blue? Skirboys? No blue? Something blue? Fabulous blue blue? Awesome blue? Why why is the lid so damn shiny as our protector on it? Or is that just the way it is? Okay, now we can have our it seems perious discussion. So you're supposed to keep talking over this? I can't. Yeah, do you know what you're charlie? Right? Job? That speaker is not as loud as previous. It's not very loud. Yea or dspeaker that's cranked all the ways as it goes. Yeah, and that's a microphone yep, yeah, yeah, it's got some decent throw to it or I don't know, it sounds it sounds good. It's clay. I'm blowing out. I'm blowing out. Yeah. I can hear these assholes playing out there pointing out that. Let me see try tone d DS so weird. Three D does not work through the pop screen very well, you guys, it's weird, is it? Blue pops filtering out I kind of work peculating. Should we have two three DS's in the house? Yeah, passed to the left here. Uh, what have you guys been playing? What do you think of the thing? So I just I just cracked that one open yesterday. I am already what appears to be halfway or two thirds of the way through pilot Wings Resort. Unless there's some crazy hidden mode that hasn't opened up yet. That sounds there's a second Wahoo Islands. Actually there is. It's where there. No, it's already been revealed. It's where it's where the two t rexes are. It's Wedge Island. I've been there and back. I have seen it. I went, I went to Wedge Island. I went to Wedge Island, and then I flew a hang glider back to Woo Woo Island. That's you know, I think that's that's the common mode of transport. It's pretty much how you do it. It took a rocket pack over there, though, So I mean, is it is it pilot wings? Yeah? Rings, You fly a plane, fly a rocket pack, and you fly a hang glider through rings, say parachuting, you land them. One mission of the jet pack popped off and then I had like a like flying squirrel suit. Did I kind of glide through some rings? Oh, let's see some of the missions. You take pictures while you're flying around? Is it all standard control or are you motion controling? Nothing. I get the sense they're maybe gonna shy away from a lot of most controls for stuff like that because it totally breaks the three D. I mean, it's it's yeah, it's you kind of have to choose either you're gonna showcase the three D. Are you to showcase the most? Definitely in either or proposition? Yeah, unless you're playing Steel Diver in case you have to stand up and rotate around like a lunatic to do both. Or Face Raiders, But yeah, I will I will accept that. For Face Raiders. Face Raiders Raiders, I think like Star Raiders, but with faces. You know what, it's it's a stupid little gimmick, But Face Raiders might just be enough to get me to get one of these shows. Face Raiders and the ar cards together make a realpelling package, you stuff. I watched Jeff mess around some of the r stuff, like it's those things are amazing, Like it's all just sheer proof of concept, Like these are not much. It's cool that that stuff is in there. But after doing it like twice, I was like, okay, d dragon coming out of my stove top. Yeah, but then how many times do you want to once? I'll probably I agree with you. Yeah, uh yeah. It's it's the thing that I'm like, Okay, I have never seen anything like this before. They really take it to an extreme, having having seen a lot of games. It's you know, it's rare and very nice to have that experience, for sure. I'm sorry, I'm mesrized by this. I'm gonna hand this back to you. In sound recording booth looking at street pass stuff for sound recording thing, and there was a top ten playlists around. Don't know, I already have. I believe I already have the maximum two day allotment of activity or sorry play coins. Really okay, already I have over two thousand steps on this DS today because it resets at midnight? Does the number reset? I fucking love those number steps. I had it. I had it in sleep when I walked from the bus, which is like, what is that like eight blocks or something. Oh, it's just in my bag and can you just shake it? Yeah, totally I got the full ten coins yesterday by shaking it. How long? Probably ten minutes? Wow? Yeah, I feel like I don't know. This feels to me like the the first modern handheld in a long time. Like it has things like the I don't know, the persistence UI that you can pop up at any time, the friend code stuff that's you know, a lot more pervasive and system wide. I feel like it is still a friend code, Yeah, it is, but once you get the friend code traded, it acts like an Xbox Live friends list, Yeah, which is mind blowing. Does it take long for that stuff to sink or come down? Jeff the only one on the friends list for this. I've had guys like pop on and off of it, and it's you're not sitting there like trophy style trying to sink right, No, no, no, no, that's cool. That makes it way more useful. Yeah, you can see it actually shows what they're playing. It does presence, so it's like they're currently playing this game. You're like, wow, wow, that's kind of cool. Interesting spying. Granted, that's kind of like a generation old feature right point. Yeah, but when you compare it to what the DS was and what the PSP was, It's like, okay, cool, and they do any other handhelds. It's like it's no longer a new a new feature, but they do it elegantly. Are there any other handhelds? I mean the iPhone? Do you count that as a handhelde? I think everyone involved does, And I think the forthcoming three DS port of Angry Birds would probably say so. I wonder if that'll run better than the PSP one probably hope. So I've traded my phone number with you. I already have your phone. I can just call you and say, hey, what are you playing Angry Birds? He'll be like, I'm playing Dragon Age two PC. WHOA, so it works multi platform? Yeah, dude, that sounds awesome. Right, I'm trying to unlock the sword, exchange these numbers the phone put phone numbers numbers? Alright? To that? And what are you playing? A new playing street Fighter? I've been playing a lot of street Fighter. I started playing Ridge Racer yesterday, and I've played some Steel Diver. You're playing Ridge Racer while I was driving in a car. Yet, that's pretty rough. Drift. I did tap to drift. No, there's like the weird one button drift mode. But you don't have to turn it on. Okay, So I'm just playing regular Ridge Racer, so regular in fact, that the very first course is the course from Ridge Racer one. Oh yeah, and not a good nostalgic way, No, not at this point, because they dragged those courses out time and time again. Yeah, those have been in the last several Ridge Racers. So it's just it's really hard to care about anything that's in that game. And and like menu wise and u I wise, I feel like the PSP games did it a little better. But that's you know, how have the load time has been in Ridge Racers, specifically because I played a pre released version of that and granted and you know, not optimized, but shit, did that take forever to load? Uh? I mean if you haven't noticed like four or five races, I don't really noticed any And it's clearly been addressed because it was real bad minutes. That's the first game since we've got these retail units that I have had to turn the three D down on. That's the one that messed me up. That event. But yeah, you haven't played Pilot Wings yet, No, I haven't. I don't know what it is about that game, but I can barely play it with any three D on at all. My big question to you guys was gonna be after spending a lot of time with it, have your eyes adjusted? Is it doesn't seem more natural? It hasn't been an issue with Street Fighter at all. I can kind of leave it on. It's not a big deal, but I think and I think it looks cool. Yeah, yeah, don't seem fun to me too, just too. I don't know what it is about pilot wings. I tried moving it all the way up and it looked like just two images separating from each other. See. That didn't happen to me with Ridge Racer. It was like the car was sticking out way too far compared to the track. Yeah, so it's really hard to keep track of everything, like the car. It was. It was hard to look at the car. I would lose I would it would snap for me, and then I would something would happen and I would lose it and I would be looking at a mess and then like I fight against my eyes to get it back, and like I turn real fast, and then yeah, that was a weird one. I mean people have said that the two D stuff, he's gonna be terminology's weird for this stuff that is locked on a two D side you or not that is like not a first person to shoot or a driving game where you're kind of like going into the screen. Right, Maybe works a little bit better for three D stuff than stuff with depth like Pilot Wings or Ridge Weight. So yeah, maybe that's just maybe that's the issue with the three D I don't know. Yeah, I was hoping that you guys would be like, oh no, you totally get used to it now, everything should be three D. It just it kind of seems like my three D world. It almost seems like every game has its own sweet spot to me. With a slider like Pilot Wings, just basically so you can tell it's actually changing rendering modes when you slide it all the way down, because there's like a little blip, you know, like it flickers and then it kind of comes back in two D. So if you basically if I push it just past that to where like it pops, there's a notch on it does it feel like it's just when you push it all the way down, it's in two D. But so so like just passed that point for piloting. It's just like the tiniest little bit of depth is like the right place for that game for me. But then I think Free Fighter. I had it all the way up and it's fine, I notice any problem. Like with the Ridge Racer. I got it about halfway up and that was like, okay, I can think I actually keep track of the car and ALLA. A few weeks ago it was kind of around halfway. Do you think it's a distance the screen thing? Is that is that? I've heard that's a factor. I don't know if you can adjust it as you move it closer. Somebody like Will or somebody was saying that people with correctional lenses and like if you wear glasses or contacts, like you have more of an issue with it. So I don't know. I don't know. I do not wear those things. How does it play aside from the three D ND on the first stage being recycled? Is it good? Yeah? Yeah? It plays like Ridge Racer. You know, you can there are nitrous boosts, you can do an ultimate charge and muscle cars. You unlock it more cars as you play. It's it's totally a Ridge Racer game. It's it's not really frame rate teams. Free Solid Yeah, yeah, it's fine, you guys, it's not. It's not like the framework could be better ian the framework is. It is definitely smooth for what it is, but it could be a higher frame rate overall. Have you guys noticed any two D three D frame rate having nothing nothing like the thirty sixty split in The Street Fighter? Did you notice that when you're playing at all, It's not it doesn't seem like that. It doesn't mean it's not that big of a deal, but it's not. Yeah, but is it like a full like half split? Is it actually like thirty to sixty? I don't even know if it's that perp. I don't know it. It's really hard to tell. Like, if you look at it long enough, you're like, okay, yeah, the frame rate does seem different here, it definitely looks a little smoother, Like I wonder if the reports of that were kind of exaggerated. Maybe I'm coming out of that event hard to say. Well, I mean, if you if you think about just like the basic like you are literally having to render the screen twice, right, it makes sense simple but be done. But yeah, it's I don't know how computer chips work. Yeah, neither do I don't look at me, bi transition, my olone, hell of ones and zeros, electrons, electron talk to electrons, they'll they'll help you out. Get electron on the phone. Loose electrons, free, free electrons, free radicals, free electrons. All those guys the nineties, see you guys at Bonnaru. So I think comes out this weekend? Right? It does this Sunday? It's out? Really? Yeah? I get street pass ready, there you go? Yeah, for all the people I'm gonna meet, Like, come on, we go hang out at the game stop. Hey, it's gonna pull up next to people and peek into their car and I'm just gonna hang out in the parking lot with a trench coat on with my street pass I'll set up and a shotgun. Yeah, and a shotgun. So much new stuff to learn about this thing, like what a street pass? What a spot pass? What are play coins? Yeah? This? How does the backwards captability work? Like there's yeah, you messed with that stuff. Like let's talk about backwards compatibility, Bradley. You put in the new Professor Layton, and and by new I mean the newest US release the time there's a you know, there's a full on three DS laden out in Japan though, damn it, I know, I know. So what's gonna happen here? Do we have to wait? Like? Do we have to wait through the next two DS? Layton's maybe they'll get the three DSL retroactive. You think they'll just jump ahead to the three DS one. Sure that would have been a great thing to launch with. I sure hope. So you know what your launch lineup is kind of crappy. That would have been a good game they have. They have a new professor laden game would not have saved like the for me, it would have. It would have been like you would have been able to say, like, Okay, here's one game. But you know what I would have been Yeah, I would have been able to say, here is one game I want to play for this thing instead of a zero the I will say the volume of games they're launching with is is pretty solid all things considered. Sixteen the number is fine. Yeah, it's just you run out that list. It's like this seems three. It just it seems crazy that like pilot Wings is sort of the Marquis Nintendo title on this line. Yeah. Yeah, Nintendo not representing me as much as as some would have liked, like, if they just got an Icarus and Warrock Arena out, I think everything would be fun. It's pretty funny. They put out a press release yesterday just kind of alerting people to upcoming like midnight launch opportunities for the three DS, and they mentioned I believe they mentioned every single one of the Day one games, and then they also say, we also have upcoming games from Nintendo and the list is Super Mario, Mario Kart, What's Animal Crossing? And Paper Mario and just for three out of the four things for them to mention as like upcoming games that don't necessarily have titles or whatever yet is to have Mario in them, Like it really took the wind out of my sales about this whole platform. Or it's like, oh, it's not that I don't like Mario, but Jesus, really that's where you're going. It's like, yeah, you know, like launch quarters and even the stuff that they're saying, like you know, other upcoming games like star Fox sixty four three D like ay, that's able name, uh and I'm not a big enough star Fucks sixty four like that. Just they're getting into nostalgia for the n sixty four which at that point it's like no, thanks, uh if you want and sixty four nostalgia, it is Akarine of Time and it's super Mario sixty four like in terms of just like big hey, one of those is coming. Yeah, and one of them already came to the regular DS. So you're done seven years ago, yeah exactly, so come back again three d oh man? What if they do that bringing out Hybrid Heaven but not blast Core Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I'm like, we'll know it's gonna get into Like when's that East Store open up May and to May campdown starts East Shop, Yeah, shop right, but if you need us, we'll be at the East Store. Mean meanwhile, you could be cramming your old DS cards in there. Tell me so, yeah, we we put in an on that Yeah, tell me about let me tell you cramps, carts in that thing, shove it on in there. I put in I put in Laden and the Phantom Hourglass, the Zelda. So I'm just gonna open this give you guys visual reference here. So the screens if you put this thing next to a DSi last night and I was like, wait a minute, these screens are smaller like physically, these screens are smaller than both of the screen, not even an xcel A straight up regular DSi. These screens are smaller. So the top screen is smaller and buy well, it's wider okay, but not as it's maybe about as tall or not quite as tall. But the lower screen, the screen straight up smaller, small But you know, the trade off is that the pixel density is very high on these things. It's much higher resolution. Okay, So anyway, the point is when you play DS games on these screens, you are stretching a much smaller number of pixels across a much higher resolution screen. Like the filtering they use or whatever it is to make that stretch happen does not look super great. So is it blurry or what would you rather have? Like jaggy edges or blur? I don't know. I wish I kind of wish they gave you the option because you kind of I mean, when you have to always take Jackie edges, which always I mean, you're kind of damned if you do. Damn if you don't, mean, it's not goody sacrifice. When you have to re rise like that, it seems like the two D elements like so all of Layton because it's a two D game top to bottom. But even something like Zelda with two D like menu elements like the hearts and you know all the little heads up stuff. Yeah your phone away from that's that's not my phone. Yeah sorry, Uh. Two D stuff does not look good stretched like that at all. The three D stuff seems damn it actually because it might actually be the d S or yes, Pat sitting on the mixer's it's probably the d S. Anyway, that stuff could look better. The three D stuff looks a little better when it's stretched than the than the two D. But the three D like go off. I don't know if it actually goes off and it doesn't do anything, it doesn't it it goes off like when when the intro to Street Fighter is is playing. Oh and it's only in two D. The three D light's not shots that lights, but that's light's only there to say like, hey, this tree D here if you want to see it. I don't forget. So with the backwards compatibility, you can actually hold select when you boot the DS game and it'll run it one to one on the screen like it won't do any stretching. But at that point you are using, You're you're using about this much. I know this play as well on the podect third of the screen or something probably yeah, probably about a third to a hat like center it uh like it kind of centers it to the unit, like so the bottom of that screen, on the top of that screen, so it centers it to the hinge basically basically, Yeah, which is crazy because it looks insanely sharp at that size. Huh. But it's also like postage stamp size at that point, and you're trying to like it's like smaller than the original DS totally. Yeah. How'd you find that out? I just read about it online somewhere, so I'll tried it, and, like I said, it looks great, but like, trying to actually move a stylus around that size that amount of real estate is not easy. So I'm gonna hang on to my DSi for DSi games or ds games. Have they mentioned anything with transferring over purchases? Yeah, that's all May, right, that's all in the May update. Okay. Yeah, So now I'm really worried because all this great DSiWare software, when you transfer it over, am I gonna have to run it? You know? Stretched out crazy. Is it going to like brick your old DS? Right? Like? Is that stuff even still gonna be able to play on? Like? Like can you have it in both places? Right? I bet not? I bet you have to move it? Yeah. Do you think there'll be a hardware solution or you think it'll be like some online and will it? Will it move over? Like save data for some of this downloadable? So I'm deep into a cave story game on the DSi, I mean, I'll have all my notes and I want to make sure that all this stuff moves over. Has they just gotta transcribe them into the new built in to spend your program and take some notes? Have what do you do with that? What do you do with the notes that? Well? So you can actually like you can scrib I believe you can scribble over a screenshot of the game you're currently playing. So if you hit the home button in the middle of like, oh god, I gotta draw a map here to get through this area, and you can kind of annotate it and that seems more useful. You can export it to like your camera roll and get it off the SD card that way? Is it in three d uh? No? But if you you know it probably actually is so when you take So I took a note, I went into the note taking program, scribbled a bunch of crap, and then exported it to the camera. And then you can do graffiti over images that are on your just over photos or whatever like that. When you do that, what you're drawing is a layer above the actual image. So it's three D that way. It's kind of crazy looking but kind of cool at the same time. I think Brad's taking a three D picture. Yeah, have you tried three D pictures? Like a little weird? Have you tried putting your thumb over like one of the things when you do a three D picture? Try it right? No, what is that? How's my three D look? I stretched out arm and tried to it's it's opening the camera application. No getting you maximum looks like that notorious Big album cover, but converted into flash where the hand moves back and forth. No, I did that. I forget what it was. It was like the official side for us, stupid like that. It's like your hand is coming out of the screen. It's ridiculous. Oh, come a at you hold on, put it, put it into the microphone so people can hear. People can hear it. Yeah, yeah, that's totally out in three dimensions. Take a picture and cover one of the cameras. I'm thinking they'll just have like fifty percent one dark darker ye no, oh god does it know? My head was just showing you like half the picture. You can actually see enough of my skin tone. That's just like covering the screen like you're getting into one eye, you know what I mean. No, I can't do that. I don't know much about getting in one eye on Jeff, you play anything else you want to talk about. I have a brand new person more computer. How is Yeah, you went to the test dude and said, helped me build an awesome new computer that's not quite out? Yeah? Sure, absolutely, yes what happened? Then you tell the straight that was what I thought? Yeah? No, I said, I'm thinking about getting a new PC soon, and they said, well, we're just about doing to build one on the internet. We should do that. And I said, yeah, okay, just tell me what to buy and I'll buy it. So we'll give me a list. I went down the list and bought it all and then they built it, and then I brought it home and then started crashing. But that's now it doesn't work out. There's some chips that stuff that I had installed, So why installed all that? I think right now, maybe one of the hard drives I put in might be so I have like m P three's and video on the D drive and it seems like most of my recent lockups have been when I've been accessing stuff on that drive. But uh, power supply you got in that thing? I don't know. I think it forget of course Courser's pretty good. Could be that three slot video card Monster things. The things is big, like I said, Yeah, I went on the list it and just bought exactly what they said and they built it and that was that. So it's kind of like I don't really remember what a lot of that stuff was. Computer parts, computer parts you can see tested. Yeah, yeah, the whole video is up there. We put it up and yeah, it knows more about your computer. So I had to iron some stuff out. But it seems to be running mostly fine. Black ops crashes every time I run it, and I don't know if that's just black ops or what, but yeah, it's it's intended performance. Yeah, yeah, it seems like I would be but dude, need for speed hopper suit runs pretty well. That already looked pretty good before. But how does track Mania run? I saw you playing some of that track Mania runs are great, track runs, fantastic, good. Good to know. I've got it running an Ultra running Ultra before, but Ultra means it. That means it. Wo. Yeah, So I'm interested to see how Crisis Too runs on it. And because all all of the things being equal, that seems like the version to play. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. I mean and even if you're if you're like Super game Patty about your shooters, I mean, Crisis Won had game pad support, so you could totally play it that way if you want. Like, the game feels really tuned for a game pad in terms of enemy placement, and you know, there's nothing so intense or snipery about that game that you're gonna So it's gonna be your battlefield three rig Yeah. Yes, it's it's my everything. It's your computer. It's my computer. So yeah, what's what's the fate of the old computer. It still totally runs. I'm still kind of moving stuff off of it. I don't know, I don't know. It's I now have three totally functioning desktop PC's in my house. Yeah, one's running kind of messed up Ubuntu install and I need to fix. Yeah, you can run set and that thing. Yeah, I got this other thing one that's running Window seven home server. Put folding it home on it. Yeah, yeah, I could do homeserver, but like, it's it's not a it's not the right wattage for for that. It's not though I had been leaving it on all the time anyway, So maybe it's not that big of a deal. This new machine a lot quieter. Yeah, case is really nicest, fractal design case pretty cool. Gosh what else? Yeah, hopper suit looks really nice. I played some home Front. That game is not good. How far did you get into it? I played about an hour, so probably about a quarter of the way through, right. Yeah, Like the voice acting seemed completely terrible. I thought, I thought, you know, it's like I'm playing with everything turned all the way up. I thought it looked like crape, you know, just textures and all the stuff, just geometry just looked real low rent h real low rent texture pack. Not Yeah, and looking for it and messed around with the multiplayer a little bit. You know, I didn't really much care for the way it was structured either, so it's it's yeah, home Front seems like a bad game to me from from what I played of it. Uh did not did not care for it at all on the PC. Uh what else? Yeah, that that's uh should maker with Romania is pretty awesome. Well, what was the game when you when you boot a PC that you're like, I want to go see what this looks like? Was that needs for Speed? I didn't have one, Like, I got it all running and just went, oh what do I do now Steam? And started looking down the list of everything I had. I just went like, man, I like, I don't really care, and I went, okay, I'll see I need for I'll see a Happer suit plays and then I was like, okay, well, I guess I need to all half lif two and all this other source engine stuff for Gary's mod eventually anyway, so we get some of that stuff, but that doesn't look you know, it's all right, it's like lock that something. I wonder if Crisis has a computer been built now at this day and age that can run Crisis ultra high whatever? Fantastic? Yeah, quite well, that was the when that game came out there that there's not even a computer alive today, they could run this. They were right, they were I think they were right. Yeah, but then who knew. But two years from now nobody would be playing Crisis anymore. I could have or that I don't like. I really don't like. I don't I don't like Crisis first. Yeah, I actually not like the first Crisis. But what you have said about Crisis too intrigues me a lot more than the first Crisis Dead because I I always felt like like the cry Tech games were crazy tech demos that sad didn't didn't like Far Crime and games like Far Far second. I don't know, I think that's selling a short. It was just not a very focused game. It was super open ended, like not very well directed right right well. And then also like every bit of like like any shred of coverage of their games, like all they would talk about was the tech. Yeah, maybe they were selling themselves short, but like it seems like they've made more of a game this time around. I just didn't really enjoy the sandbox stuff from that first game. So it's like a lot of people were like, dude, through this guy in the air, and I kind of did that once and went like, yeah, you can totally do that and didn't want to, like spend hours doing it. I thought Crisis Warhead was a better campaign because it was a little more focused on the first crisis. But but you're you're you're right bright. It's the lack of focus that I didn't care for. They never never really encouraged you to go anyone way. It was just sort of like, here's a giant. So I just felt super lost. I know what I like, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm not sure if me walking to this village and then everyone shooting at me is the yeah, is what's supposed to happen? Or you know? Yeah? So that was my problem with the previous Craft game. So a little more direction and a little narrow path that sounds appealing to me might be the crisis too. Bread Shotmaker's just what's up with stars Cracking? Oh man? Uh, I watched a lot of it. It's the latest, we just had the we just had the finals. There's too much of it. There's too fucking much StarCraft on what right now saying it's become Texas hold him? Yes, we like it was the one good one and then everyone else decided they wanted to get into poker, and then they were like nine poker shows on TV. All of them were your TVO's Full Poker, and you got to that point where each each one of the shows had kind of pros that were on that shows. So you always just saw like, oh, Dan mcgran news over here, this one. But it's like you don't want to see that. You want to go back to the World Poker Tour where it actually the announcers are pretty good and it has all the dudes on it, and you're like, yeah, is that is that exactly what StarCraft two has becomes? You're just pulling my leg now right, No, exactly, we're gonna get like the Xbox Live games, like weird StarCraft tournament knockoff things where you're kind of like it's not really StarCraft, but there you're playing as a dude computer. I want to I want fucking StarCraft League Tycoon. I want to have the strategy Tycoon game. So that's one in my own gaming league. So that's what GSL has morphed into and it is amazing. Uh. They started this thing up called Team League where so like all these guys are have always been on Team it's a great name, I know. I mean from the beginning, these guys like you know the house we went over there to, Yes, like that is a team. You know, they have a manager, they have a who like he they have a house. They have a house. But I mean they have like corporate sponsorships. You know, they're the ones that get like bink and uh, I don't know really bink. Yeah, it's like sponsored by rad Game Tools. Totally. These guys, I mean have you seen what they wear. They wear jumpsuits that look like NASCAR drivers with like logos, all those sleeves and every sort of what poker became, you know, it ended up with like every you know, even the guy that wore the cowboy hat to the table. Eventually that cowboy hat at a fucking full tilt Poker dot Net logo on it. Totally and really like professional gaming, everyone that's tried to get it on television, everyone that's tried to make it a big thing. Their their pitch is always like this is gonna be the next poker. So like all of them, like Emil, like you get the impression that they're all focused on trying to make it exactly like that, right, which is messed up because poker got bad fast. Yeah, this is getting better in a lot of ways. So basically the team league, I mean, these guys were always on teams, but in the past it was every man himself. Like you would have a guy on a team eliminating somebody else from his team because it's you know, there's only os. Yeah, yeah, totally, totally. I mean, you know, there's only one grand prize and only one guy is gonna win it, so you know, and if the team wins it, it's good for the whole teams or whatever. But anyway, the whole point of this team league thing now is that they basically it's like it's two teams against each other, and like the coaches each pick a player to put up for the first slot, and like they go at it and whoever wins. It's like, all right, now, let me see who I got left to take on? This guy who I know plays tearing and does this stuff. Do they have to like set lineups? Yeah? So is it just like is it is it just Teken team battle? It's well, I mean pick four dudes in a row. No, no, no, because every time one of their guys loses, they get to pick on the spot who goes after that, like based on the strengths of the guy they're going up against. There's like all this sty and drama. It would be way more interesting if they had to set that stuff in advance, because then it's like your your you know, your baseball bench, where it's like you got you gotta have your your rotation in because just to factor in for possible scenarios. They definitely do that. They just do it on the Like an MVP who was considered big surprize, the best player in the world probably at the moments, pretty good wrestling, Yeah, he like he is. He was. He was definitely the closer on his team, Like they saved him for the end, so then he got beaten, upset. All that upsets. So, like you don't understand the level of drama that is going on between these teams. It's like the meta game. It's amazing. It is a meta meta game at this point, Like they're playing a meta game between the different players and the factions that they play in the game. And then there's like another layer of strategy on top of that. Now, so when did they do that? Between leagues? I have a league League team I'm not ready for five layers of abstraction yet in the competition, I'm still still the game to beat. Yeah, yeah, So so the end of the last Team League got just a little anecdote there was there was an instance in one of the games where a guy like went for a crazy gambit and it looked like it was gonna work. And I didn't even know you could do this in this game. But the most basic type of unit on each side, like the Zurgling for instance, there's some way to make it dance, like literally, there isn't. I didn't even know. I didn't I didn't have any idea how to, you know. So basically this guy went for his gambit, it worked like he was totally gonna sinch the win. He fucking made his guys dance instead of attack when he shouldn't have, and it blew the match and he lost. And yeah, it was just like such arrogance, And like the players from the other team physically approached to the booth of the other team after that match, and we're like replicating the dance in real life. Just so much shit talking going on, like back and forth, match after match, they kept beating each other. It was like they're like they're like Mortal Enemies now basically, like it's so much drama, it's ridiculous, it's awesome. Uh, And I how you get people with eyeballs on the screen anyway, There there's too much Craft now actually to watch and coming from somebody who was too sick to do anything but watch StarCraft for the last like five days, and I still overdosed on it and there's still too much. Are there are there other leagues that do the subscription type stuff? Was the only one really commanding the rates at the moment that they are? It's you know, it's it's anywhere from like five too. It's so it's five bucks for a team league season which is like a week long to like fifteen to twenty for for the month long. And they've still mostly got the boss players absolutely, without a doubt. MLG has has some pretty good players, some of the some of the foreigners in Korea have just left Korea to come back over here for some of that stuff. There's the new North American Star League starting up, which has not really gotten off the ground yet. Was that the thing with this secret countdown thing? Yeah? Yeah, yes, many questions still surround that I have not been clarified yet. There's a ton of stuff going on to Europe right now. Team Liquid is running their invitational which is actually sponsored by uh I think it's Poker Strategy dot Com. Familiar with that site, No, but I think that's the site. It's something to that effect. But it's the logo is literally it's like Poker Strategy dot Com, Liquid Open three or whatever you know, or TSL three. I don't know how poker is actually getting involved in competitive StarCraft. Eventually all this stuff gets run by crime hopefully hopefully it's they've been running in Korea for a while now. There was that Oh yeah, so what happens when the next uh I guess expansion for StarCraft two comes out? It does it? Everybody have to adopt it. It's a change the multiplayers? Then you know, there's definitely there's a splinter into like different or do they patch the multiplayer for everyone and everyone gets the same multiplayer? No, they will ever do that because they wanted to buy Yeah, totally totally, like they have to. They have to leave the existing game as is. So do you think they start splintering into different leagues that like we play version this, we play version this, or we just all move on to something else, My ladies, I mean, you think that the multiplayer is actually going to be different from like, oh yeah, to the next game. My layman's perception of how StarCraft went was that as soon as the brood War took off and everybody he's playing that, nobody played old StarCraft anymore. And I think Warcraft three may have been the same way. That's the most modern example. But people still play brood War in the despite StarCraft two. Absolutely, But that's a different game, Like that is a that is a sublimely balanced you know that, Yeah, that's a refined game with a decade of history and metagame solution behind. You're proposing that everybody just moves on to the next iteration. I would I would assume that there would only be one active version of a given game at anything competitively right, Like I would, I would think all these leagues would move on to like part of this war or whatever. And you think, you think battle and this is purely speculation, you think Battle that will start segregating games. Do you think if you just you just let's see, I mean, they would they would have to say the other option would be to give everyone the upgrade stuff for free, right like assuming assuming there will be new units on each side, as there always are. Right, So you think if I've got if I'm up to date, I can pick to play. Yeah, that's exactly how it Workraft three was it was do you want to play Rana Chaos? Do you want to play Frozen Throw? I think with bred War and you could play. I mean, they can't. They can't tell people all of a sudden you can't play the game to be paid for, even if you're not buying the new one. But what effect do you think that's going to have on the pro leagues. I think everyone's going into immediately upgrade to a curve, right, Yeah, like a couple of seasons that are run on the old version while everyone is playing the new version to figure out how the strategies change. That's very possible. But Blizzard has been so closely involved in these leagues, especially the GSL, that I could see they're being a pretty quick change over because I mean most players will probably getting on betas and stuff anyway. It's absolutely you know they'll be giving feedback all along. Crazy dude man, Blizzard must have data by now, right, if they're if they're watching all these matches and getting feedback to tune that hell out of their next I guess. But I mean, I don't think you know, they're not balancing the game just for those people like the Ultra Ultra high end. No, no, but the data on matches anyway, so I think they pulled data from every match so that ever gets played. So I don't know, like a game, if it data, I've hit a wall in that game. I think I'm done. I believe I want to see it. I don't know. Llow me no. When Dota two comes out, I'm going to switch to the competitive I'm probably above average micro, but the awful macro in that game. So I'm thinking maybe I should just be playing a game that's all micro, which is what those games are. So see, now you're you're just gonna become purely a StarCraft spectator. Yeah, I'm kind of thinking it might be going that way. My team league association, we should get a fantasy league going on. Anyone doing a StarCraft fantasy league, Is anyone set that up? I'll totally join your StarCraft fantasy only if it's team league, all right, that's all I want to play. So we were talking about doing a baseball fantasy league. But I guess that that guy's shot down in the office. I already thought they did do that. They much madness thing. But yeah, Tatum had pitched out the idea of doing it, pitched doing it. That's very funny. That is good. I thought it was. I was pretty happy with how that that worked out. They're big laughs in the room. As long as the comics from the back or laughing. That's all I'm playing for, let me tell you. Uh yeah, no, I guess it's you know, it goes on for too long, and there's a billion teams, and so it's apparently of of the types of fantasy leagues you can do, baseball is it's the most grueling, most involved. Yeah, the most involved. Play a lot of games in a baseball season two a lot of games. Yeah, gotta do something all summer. Hey, it's called sitting on a couch, get drunk. Watch baseball. March thirty, first start of Summer Day's opening day. We quick. Yeah, our buddy Mike just got back from watching the A's in spring training down in Zona. Oh is that where he was here? Yeah? Yeah, he took the family down, fucking Raley Fingers mustache. Yeah, and he and he met Raleigh Fingers and got it. Yeah, yeah, you mock him. Now he's got an autograph for all the fingers baseball and mustache signed. Yeah, he signed it with his mustache mustache on mustache contacts. Well no, I mean, really, fingers, his mustache is what signed the baseball. Okay, all right, Okay, that's who I mean. His hands are pretty shaky these days, but the mustache sure can hold the pen. True mustache is sentient. Indeed, it's making all the shots. It's why he was down in Arizona. Did you play video games, Ryan Davis? No? Yeah, really, God, I can't remember something. Yeah. I beat stacking too, and I guess there's an expansion coming out for that, which was weird because it's not out, but the achievements are in. I played some Trenched a while ago. Oh man, we're just caught like definitely, Like yeah, it's been a real time warp these past few weeks, just like between like, yeah, it's definitely it was a lot of stuff, like almost three weeks ago. I mean, it's it's starts for me. It starts with Dice like this whole whole nightmares. Definitely, like coming back from Dice like I really had, and then foldings like all right, Dice, going straight back to the next things. Oh Jesus, something's happened with fancy pants that it was a thing and warp game cool. We played some game. Yeah, we played some games at packs and then played some other games. Okay, I played some of the games you guys talked about. Yeah, it's played some Da Vinci is missing, Mario is missing. Yeah, we played some assass Creed Brotherhood. Mario's missing, Mario is missing. That is more Assassin Creed Brotherhood single player content and two new multiplayer modes and a bunch of new models and some new I think a couple of new maps also, is it a new single player content and the way that a sass decreed too, you got single player content and it's DLC or is it better than that? More well streamlined and it o. But I mean like we only got like maybe three missions into it, but the well already that's that is probably better than the has created tub uh DLCI. Yeah, well there was that one that we accidentally finished during the TWI book. Yeah, it was like, oh, I guess that's the end. Okay, Well, it's this seems like a carousel of just different modes, like, all right, this is this mission type. They're yeah, they're they're hitting a lot of familiar mission types from the main campaign in in Brotherhood. But uh and you know, for you know, for good and for bad. Some of them are like, Okay, this is a fun mission type and I enjoy doing this, and some of them not so much. We definitely, yeah, we definitely hit a wall when we were trying to record that quickly yesterday. We just had to we had to do We had to ditch record. It's like, all right, we are stuck in a horrible loop of just failing this mission over and over again in horrible ways. So it's our our our momentum and enthusiasm is in the ditch. So take a deep breath, take a break. That's right, Count to ten, come back to it. And yeah, the multiplayer stuff seems like it might be enough to get me to play mores Aster keyed Brotherhood multiplayer. I think people are still playing that. Yes, yes, had no problem getting into a game that. I mean, there's I was definitely reminded doing that quick look with with Vinnie yesterday. Uh, they's still nothing quite like that. Like that, what they figured out for their multiplayer in that game is is fairly unique. I know a lot of people like to make the comparison to the Ship, but like only in like the most high level concept of you know, trying to sneak around and you don't know who's trying to kill you. But like everything else, the pacing and the just the the action feel of it is it is so much different. Uh. Yeah, I liked. I liked what I played with that. I'll play more of that. Yeah, you know, we're inside of two months till we find out what the next game is going to be. Yeah, according to how goes your assassins? Oh, I put it down after after I finished two. As much as I wanted to play the next one immediately for for story reasons, I was like, if it's more of that, I should probably break it up a little bit. Yeah, because two was already kind of feeling a little repetitive. But but they like the things that made it repetitive are gone. That's I mean, that's definitely great. Time for combat is a lot faster. I'd say still give it, give it a couple of months. Really give it. I'll take it a little time. I'm on break next week. About playing it next week. If you're gonna sit around and do nothing all week, then sure I might play through it next week. We'll see, but yeah you can. And also, you know, while whatever, the ending of that game will stay with you. Uh and they remind you of Brotherhood you mean no two? Oh yeah, well Brotherhood, yes two has Yes, it's gone nowhere. I'm just yes, yes, you're right about that. Yes, that was a crazy when when the lady turns and looks at the camera. Yeah, I definitely had that. Oh shit, yeah that's a yeah, that special moment in that game. Definitely definitely. All right, news, we should talk about some news, so I don't know what you guys talked about for news, so we can talk about everything there was, which wasn't much. Yeah, Tip Bombs going to Paxis twenty eleven shop. No, we'll be there, Cumber Panel Friday night, Thursday night. We're gonna be the Core Brattle Theater from the Core Brattle Theater. Brattle manticor Tribes is coming to Xbox, Lab, Arcade and PC. Do you guys know about this? Yeah, tribes ascend, tribes ascanned. All right, well, I don't talk to you about that. Whatever. A shull snowman going there, Vinnie, he's fallen apart. Who broke him? I don't know. He's missing a leg is joints are all come out. It's having a bad boo. Eve Online is donating ISSK for Japanese disaster relief. Yeah, that's pretty awesome, so are they. They're letting people donate their ISSK to like an in game funds converted into real money, and yeah, let's going to the Red Cross. I think PlayStation three, you can actually just there's an aid for Japan thing on there. You can just give money that way too, just like by aid. Yeah. Rock Smith, did you guys talk about rock Smith a little bit? Rock Smith? Yeah? Smith up some rock. I'd rather Smith up some rocks. Yeah, get the baking soda, you put the you fill the jar and then you put the jar inside the pot. And basically I'm over the stove. That's all rock Smith over the stove, and that's and that's all you know about making crack cocaine. Yeah. Uh. Mass Effect two arrival DLC to be the last of the Mass Effect two dls. See. Yeah, about thirty minutes from now we will be seeing rivaling all up in offices. Bring her save. No, I'm sure this isn't gonna be a debug scenario. Think you save on there? You can't. That doesn't work. They've released screen shots. You know this looks like Mass Effects. Yeah, it's got that mass Effect font on that screen. I don't want to alarm anybody, but looking pretty much. And this is supposed to kind of the bridge lead into Yeah, this is the bridge to the next take it to the bridge bridge. So at the end of this, the Normandy will explode again. Yeah, well but not before they separate the saucer section. Sure that thing doesn't surprise or does it? Is there a battle bridge on the Normandy? Is there a battle bridge on the Normandy? It's eat room, shepherds, Shepherd's quarters. Yeah, I guess, guys, I really liked Mass Effects too. Yeah, that was pretty good. I guess. I guess. Tricia Helford just posted on Twitter yesterday that she just finished her first session for Eady and Mass Effect three. Oh man, because he's a playable character. Hopefully all it downloaded Eady into Morton's body. Dy back in the third one, confirmed died in my mission. He was I like that character. If you can even call that a character, is I think by the end of the game it was. It was a character. It was some good banter joke her. That was well the jokes. Character needed it. He needed a boil unshackle me. He needed something because he was kind of a lonely man. Yeah, he wasn't serving much of a purpose. Yeah, by himself, I could feed my damn fish. Yeah, my relationship with the jos mass leg He could have hobbled up to the quarters and fit the damn fish walks behind him slowly. That's what Kelly Chambers was for. Did your Kelly make it? I thought she got good. So I almost have finished this redo of the last like correct right some wrong where Kelly will fight. You know what, She's probably not even gonna be in the third one at all, But what if she's like the President. I need her to be alive, President of Space, President Space, Kelly, feed my fish. You want to be in good with her? Better not have broken her heart. It was gonna go bad for you. He was gonna fall. You would catch up. Basically, you see the nicest thing things are gonna go bad, much like they went for Gun Loco, which has been canceled. There's there's two Loco, too much madness, too many men in bunny suits, and whatever other random ass bullshit they were trying to get. The whole thing was like it was a bunch of urban vinyl made into video game form with some vinyl designer dude doing the design work. So that's not coming out kid Kid Robots style. Yeah, here's one hundred dollars action figure that came. Just look. It looked like it was destined to become the club. To me, I don't know, like I you know, I like it when anyone at least tries to go crazy. Yep, as hard as it is, I'll Boil Loco works out for them quite well. They make a delicious classic chicken burritos available now the chicken. Yeah that the burrito's good too. I would totally. I'm not getting paid by them either. But you want to talk about some apoil Loco. Do they have that up here? Jeff? There's one near us near us that's it's mostly a so cow thing, But what's so loco about it? It's crazy delicious. There you go. I like that tagline it is. It's the crazy chicken yea and macaroni and cheese. It'll blow your mind. It's fucking it's no joke. You wouldn't you wouldn't think because it's you know, it's it's Mexican style roast chicken. So it's a lot of burritos and and tacos and Tamali's and things of that nature. But then also just on on their sides. Man, He's like, and you can get some fucking mac and cheese. So they're chicken in it? No you can? You can? You sounds like a missed opportun Yeah, make that happen yourself. All right, I'm starving. We should we should go to Alpoil Loco. I agree, alright, stay down there until e three candles one up near us. Oh really yeah yeah, yeah, it's not far. I'm serious about go to the Loco. I would to Loco's. We have plans, all right. Hey remember last week, Jeff when we did T and T. No you don't, oh yeah, okay, yes, yes, And we were also simultaneously having our company Saint Patty's a party. Yes I can't that, uh man. There were a lot of people here believe there were guys with video cameras filming stuff in here. Yeah, shout out to Game Revolution. I don't know, shooting a video in the middle of our office. I don't know what the fuck for. I don't know if any of that ever anywhere. Yeah, you know what what you were doing? Did jose fit into the bar or like, do you have to like stoop? He goes like seven feet tall? He's not, He's not that, but he's pretty tall. He's not actually, he's really tall. He's not talling Sean Cannons. No, hmm, how about Micro? Yeah? Micro was here, wandered in so and like so so yeah, I was hearing people's like whispers during the party, like hey, Micro's here, and I just chalked up to, oh, you know, there's like executives from Twitter and Facebook and ship here, So I figured this was some sort of It's like, I knew he was local, so I figured it was just someone must have known him or something. But yeah, some sort of connected there. But no, apparently his production company is just around the corner. And he smelled a party wow, and just fucking rolled in Micro style party sense was tingling, got in his rowboat came on down Wow, and then saw the studio. I was like, hey, what do you guys do? It's pretty awesome. So Norman and Drew got to have lengthy conversation with Micro, and I think Drew was still riding the high off of that. Yeah, Norm plastered Twitter with pictures. Oh, they were both very excited about that. Norm Micro and a Corgy seemed that it's very like a very affable guy. Yeah, and he was like, you know he was wearing micro gear like that was Yeah, he was. He was recognizable as as Mike Rowe because it's like, no, that's that's just what he always looks like. Just just stepped out of a filthy occupation. Yes, a well worn baseball Captu Roy looking jacket kind of thing. Yeah, something like that. Something like that. But back to the T and t uh we also had. So we were in theory playing Super Street Fighter four on thurs and I throw it down last week, but I would say within the first thirty minutes or so, four members of the Double Fine team showed up at the office and and we invited them to the sets. So we pretty much spent most of that show just talking to the Dull Fine guys and taking questions from the chat about double fine stuff, and someone at some point asked about said, hey, you guys are gonna do any DLC for you guys and plans for DLC stuff like, uh, maybe, I don't know. And then the next day they announced, Hey, stacking DLC right coming at you, the Lost Hobo King. You like you'd like to think we'd spurred that along a little bit, And I think the time was probably just right. No, I don't. I'm hoping no one of of power we're watching what was going on on that show. Uh much love though to the to those guys for showing up and being game. Indie rock Cliffs, Yeah, and you're rock Cliff Pasinski doing a great job on doing a great job on never living that down on Trenchers. I will buy that deal later in April. Lost Hobo King, I don't know what that means. It means that there's a hobo king and they can't find him, and then you got to stack into some dudes to find him. Charlie is recovering a fragmented crown and then reforging it in order to restore a hobo to power in the Kingdom of Camelfoot Hobo King is missing? Is it that hobo from the beginning of the game, I have to LEVI I have to imagine. Yeah, I like the idea of that dude as a king, So yeah, Hobo King that wants in future Hobo King. Like the game is segmented very well to probably accommodate, like one more area. You know, there were four I get to the ship? How how many I get to? It's how four? Ship is the second one? Four? Yeah, so I bet this will be number five. That was the tragedy of going back into stacking to S rank. It was they already put those achievement. Yeah, so you didn't even get the S rank. Yeah, that's just now you have to buy the dlcim is show how they get you so easy? Dudes so easy? What's that get them? Then? I know? Well, if the game's not out, the d L season not out, when's it coming out late April? Okay, a month? I have to wait. Oh, when's a wrenched out summer? That's a while. If anything's for Xbox Live r K at this point, it's summer. Yeah, anything anything that looks good on Xbox Live Arcade. I almost felt coming out Summer warp game Summer, So we're shooting for summer. Yeah. I almost felt yeah, everybody was like Summer of Arcade. Yeah, definitely definitely shooting. We're shooting. We would with a major promotion and just say we would like to be in the summer would be good. So whenever that happens, we feel all that free promotion and marketing money might benefit our products. I think we met some XBLA gentlemen at Packs and I think we oh yeah, we relayed our choices. The horrible part was after randomly at that lunch table, right after about the sixth game that we saw that was just like Summer, and it's like, oh man, everybody can't make it shows that shadow playing a game of Summer. Like Microsoft XBLA booth alone at Packs had like six games in it, and I think they only do five for that thing. So it's like, already somebody's got to go. Yeah, not counting all the third parties, So Fire Pro Wrestling has to go. You don't think that's on that list of for the stuff that was at the Microsoft were in there. There is always and it's almost like the ups and downs are built into that program, like you've got to have like a Castlevania HD. And I feel like I feel like Microsoft is probably more invested in that Fire Pro game than just bout any of these others. Maybe, what with all the avatar nonsense, window Man, maybe it'll be twice as long this year. The summer keeps going by all ten of these games. No, no, now they's following its, following it up with the Summer Cookout right, Summer hot Dog Competition. I'd like, I didn't get the sand wich about this. I liked that Shoot Many Robots game that we saw at at Packs East. How many robots are there any fucking dude? A ton? How many of them did you shoot? Fucking dude? Is not a number? Fucking well, it should be because that's how many of there working, Alright. So we played, we played through all the structured level demo stuff, and then they just had an infinite shoot robots thing that run. I just kept on shooting like this empty room, like we we built well, it's like they said, we built this to test how many robots we could actually have on screen. They started shooting the robot gun at you exactly start getting out, falling out of the ceiling, it's like, yeah, some more robots. Yeah, uh, kind of you know, Metal Slug, but with more directional shooting controls. Uh, definitely controls that takes them getting used to. Yeah, it's not like dual analogue. It's like you hold one trigger and then you use one of the sticks for aiming. But it's not always that way. So, but you can move in shoot at the same time. But you also have a lot of other like these secondary abilities that are associated with all this gear that you can unlock from shooting robots, backpacks and pants. Yeah yeah, and there's also guns. What abilities to the pants confer It depends on the pants y. Yeah, some of them will let you do like I like I sliding kick things. You can Beer is your health So you're still talking about the game. Uh yes, but not exclusively. You can wear you can get a beer hat, which then expands how much beer you can carry so that you can re up your health. M Yeah, it seemed interesting. Uh yeah, yeah, great, crazy. Uh what were they saying there? They were saying they were getting a lot of comparisons of like a mix between Metal Slug and Borderlands, And I see that from kind of the dusty post apocalyptic aesthetic that they're going for. Yeah, but then also like crazy Lute and you know a lot of do I get fat if I eat too much of food? A lot of that kind of carrot on stick stuff. Again, I'm talking about the game in the game. No, otherwise we should we should talk later. M M. Yeah, yeah, shoot made Robots. That game has some fucking promise. I hope, I hope that that goes well for Yeah, but little for that summer Xbox Live Arcade. Actually no, you know, they have not announced any platforms yet. Sure, but they were very candid. They're like, fucking we have Xbox stores here. Again, We're not gonna yeah, we're not gonna full you on that, but we're trying to get it out wherever we can. So that's kind of like news. You can guys can sign up for the beta for Infamous to uh mission creative Mission creator stuff now if you if you want to, Oh, we should say news wise. I watched the live show on Friday. We're even giving away a bunch of codes, yeah, given away something else. We're giving away a shiploaded We're giving away five Roku boxes show Yeah, which those things are dope. I really I really think for for what they do, I mean they're dope when the app that is built for it is dope too. Yes, that helps. So there is there is a whiskey media app that exists. I hear it's dope. Dope. It is quite dope for that summer. It's fresh summer doesn't promote dopamine response. Yes, so it's actually really Yeah. You can actually log in with your your account and access HD videos with it. You can watch live streams from it. Yeah, it's pretty cool. I watched you guys play Crisis too through. I watched Jeff live stream the live stream from it. Yeah, I shot the screen of the Roku from my phone and then he watched that, and then then we watched that, and then that was weird. And then we played the Crisis to Roca Box Team League and I have my boxy and then I like my box. Yeah. No, I mean it serves the same purpose. It's just that the Roku. But the Roku has the sweeter app to access our videos on it, so and the less stupid looking case. I like that. It's it's cheaper and smaller. Yeah, it doesn't. It doesn't. It doesn't do it. It's cheaper and does all the stuff that I use my boxy to do. So it's kind of yeah, I wish I had anyway, I mean, I don't think it does. Does it do look the home networks? I believe it does. It doesn't. Okay, forget that thing that is. I mean that's the difference is this is like you can use this for your Amazon stuff. You can use this for the Netflix stuff and Whiskey Media stuff. Whisky Media. So there's actually there's a whole bunch of other apps you can go and browse through the ina in Device app Store. We've got crazy MLB packages and all that other nonsense. So so we're gonna give away like five of those. We're just that's not that's not like Roku giving them to us. I think take just like this is awesome. By five these were giving away. We haven't decid how we're gonna give them away yet, but we figured out we have five and we're gonna be giving them away. We have show a bunch of codes for Torchlight XBLA Brad confirming Halo. We're just looking at its phone, okay, the Halo Reach, matt Pack and Socom Beta codes. Yeah, there's a lot of those members only show this week for free show the following week. Want access to some of those codes, We're gonna be data. Let me doing that stuff, all right. We have companies, so we're gonna crank through the rest of this program here. All right, let's talk about new releases. Yeah, Crisis Too, as we said earlier, is out. The Medieval. The SIMS Medieval is out, which is a is that a pack for the SIMS one, the SIMS three. It's the SIMS Medieval. I believe it is stand alone. It's just all crazy medieval stuff. So they're they're shipping a whole shipload of three DS games this week, you know, getting the software out in front. So if you want to go and buy copies of Ridge Racer or Tom Clancy's Ghost recon Shadow or a bunch of other ships, Rayman Asphalt, Lego Star Wars three. Uh well, if you want to buy Lego Star Wars three four, just about anything, you can do that because they put it out there as that. Street Brotherhood comes out of the PC this week. I don't believe it will have a DLC support. PlayStation Move Heroes is out this week, the PlayStation three. Yeah, they're acting like this track Mania game is gonna come out for the we this week. They've been acting like that for the past year and a half, I think so. Yeah, they keep up. Also not a good not a conversion. They continue with the lies. On Xbox Lab Arcade this week, we have Swarm from the hot Head, the guys who brought you Debts Bank, and the Penny Arcade Adventures that's coming out this week for a dollar amount that is equal to fifteen bucks. Also, Ghostbusters as Sanctum of Slime is hitting this week for ten bucks. That's only tell Yeah, we'll do a quick look at that. Cool. I've got it, although I think it doesn't unlock until tomorrow, so we'll do it tomorrow. On the PlayStation Network, that MK demo is available for everybody as of last week. What did I say, already said PlayStation Move Heroes, right, yeah, well that's still coming out for the PlayStation christ too. Blah blah blah, Ghostbuster Sanctum Slime and Swarm and also that Battle Los Angeles game in PSNY this week. That's it for new releases. Let's do some emails, you guys, Yes, let's can do it. Okay, pomecast at champbomb dot com. First email comes in from JP from Buffalo. Hey, guys, I recently discovered that friend of mine only uses his index fingers when operating the top buttons of PS three controller instead of using his middle fingers for R two and L two. Thinking he was crazy, I asked several friends and they're the same as him. Do you guys use your middle fingers to press the R two and L two buttons on a p S three normal? Normally? I think it depends what game. Yeah, if it's a game that actually requires you to use all four simultaneously, then then I will get four fingers up there. Normally it's just my index fingers. Yeah, if that game requires it, I stopped playing that game. So he's the crazy one. Yeah, really really don't like the feel of the lower triggers. I just don't not as triggers, like if you're if some things are okay for yeah, I should feel like I feel like I don't get enough throw on them to even be great as like you know, I mean there's a reason why they swapp most shoulder button stuff between Xbox and NPS three. Yeah, you know. Uh. Michael Bergvall from Sweden, Hello, Giant Bomb. I recently saw the sweetest TV commercial for some kind of Nintendo we bundle and the voiceover guys stated that Mario, the World Champion of Video Games is back. Is this accurate? Can someone be called the world Champion of video games? I was gonna say Billy Mitchell, And if so, who is it? Batman? I hope it's Batman. I don't think Batman be very good video games. He was figuring it out. That's what Batman does. He like, you know, Sadoku, Like he probably really like pe Cross the Three or something. Yeah. Probably, uh, I'd probably would be pretty killer, professor. If you had to pick up a world Champion of video games like Mario has probably been in the most Yeah, he's I can argue that there are more Mario appearance games than any other franchise in the history of franchises, and includes Disney Dynasty Warriors. Warriors will eventually surpass Mario. I think that's uh Simione from Toowoomba, Australia just making stuff up. Uh Yo, what happened to movie license games? What do you mean what happened to them? They're still happening. Yeah, Like Rango just came out of Battle Los Angeles. Yeah, they still suck, that's what happened to them. Congratulations. Actually, I have not played Rango, so I can't say for certainty that sucks, but I do know it has an eight level taken straight from the world of Minecraft. Oh wow, I heard Battle Los Angeles not good. Oh yeah, it's heard Rango is pretty good. Hey, I heard Rango is not terrible. Battle better than terrible. But any weird cut scenes that managed to check it out? Yeah, you look perplexed. I'm doing all right. Next email comes in from Pat and Brooklyn. For the first time, the roster of games that this year's EVO does not include a version of Street Fighter two. The oldest game on the list is Tech and six, which came out in two thousand and seven. Is it safe to say that this is the rebirth of fighting games or a weird fluke? For reference, the games at EVO twenty eleven will be Marvel Firus, Capcom three, Super Street Fighter four, MKU Tech and six in Blaze Blue, Continuum Shift. I think that that speaks to the popularity street Fighter four. I also feel like we've we've now finally like we finally hit the the the post Street Fight or four world where there are enough. Yeah, there's enough like newer games to warrant, you know, not having to dig back into all the old stuff. Plus Street Fighter two and four arguably kind of scratched the same image. Yeah, I'm kind of surprised that three is not represented there. Also, I do believe that there are sponsors involved in this process and that that's might that that might have some kind of impact on the game selection in some cases. So I'm not too sure exactly how that works, but he plays. Yeah, I don't know. I bet that after they do their online street Fighter three third Strike that I wouldn't be surprised to see that and make some kind of resurgence or something like that. Maybe that's still happening summer summer that umail. This next next email comes in from Bradley. Hey, Bomb cast crew, I just got a quick question after listening to the email section of the glast podcast where Vinnie said I can't even see color yet, I'm not ready for three D. This got me wondering, Vinnie, does the traditional red blue three D glasses effect work for you? I don't know, you've never tried those No, what do you guys see three D? All right, maybe it might work. Okay, it doesn't. See I see three D with right blue glass? Yeah, like I wouldn't say it looks awesome. It's not like it. Oh yeah, it's a poor Does it look as shitty for you guys as it looks for me? Probably it looks. I was playing Bulletstorm in three D with those glasses because the video card can do that. Yeah, like, like stuff will work, but I assume. I assume it's probably probably different since my reds is messed up, So I don't know. But my blues are good. Blues are crazy on that stuff. H Dwayne writes in to ask is there any word yet on the Classic, and he uses a k Classic costumes being offered for pre order bonuses. If there will be available as unlockables through the crypt in the game, It's hard to say. Some people started hacking apart that demo, like digging through all the files in it and all that stuff, and they found, I guess, the full game stories in there, so people started pulling lines dialogue out of that. The full roster, of course is in there, you know, the achievement and trophy list. Got out there, and that's how people started talking about cyber sub zero being in the game, and there was some indication that some of this stuff might appear in the crypt which is going to be a huge you just buy it out with. Yes, you might just be able to unlock it through normal play at least costumes, maybe not the fatalities. I don't really know. After you told me that people don't even get their pre order bonuses, I'm completely done pre ordering stuff not having it. No, just I was done with that before. I don't think she might be done with games. Yeah, all right, we're over. The last appearance from I'm calling it, calling games God. That made me so mad I've been I don't pre ordering. I think I thought, like I told you you're on the bus yesterday. I think I think Symphony of the Night was the last game that I pre ordered with the intention of getting the bonus that came with it. Fulfill that I think. I think in this age of Internet fulfillment and everything is just a code now, I think it's probably happening a little more frequently or more consistent. Oh well, I mean that's just that's just dirt baggy Game Stop employee for themselves either all those codes end up on email. Yeah, I'm sorry, bubbled back up again. Oh no, it's it. It fills. Like That's what makes the whole pre order thing so awful is like it seems like Amazon is usually good about that stuff. Yeah, and the times that they have not been able to fulfill, like when there was that they start paying you. Yeah they were. Yeah, they were being very good on their end about it. Like cap coms fucking us up. So here's fifty percent of this thing. Look, they're still sucking us up. So we've got you. So yeah, do your pre ordering through Amazon, and usually with video games, they will give you, you know, release day. If you pre order it long enough an advance, you get your released day free shipping. So it's a company you can feel good about supporting, no doubt, because they do their fucking job. You get from reptile, all right, that's not bad. Get a ninja, all right. Last emails comes from Chris in London, UK dear bomb Squad. As a frequent commuter in city working stooge, I spend a good chunk of my day riding the rails. I assume he means on train As a results, I do a lot of my gaming on portable systems, the iPhone for the DS and to some extent the PSP. Naturally, I'm quite interested in picking up a three DS. However, something has been bothering me. Is the three D functionality going to piss off other people on the bus slash train? I haven't been able to get my hands on the device. I'm not really sure how intrusive it is for non players, since you guys have probably now spent a bit of time with it and hopefully have played it on some form of public transport. Was hoping you could help me out, Bradley. I have found that all those objects like floating around above the screen, people really seem to get distracted by that, Like they don't care for it. It's just running hands in front of you. Yeah, like turtle shells, just like flying out of the screen directly at people's faces. Man, they just see I mean you have to be locked in, yeah, face forward. Yeah. If you care about other people seeing your games while you play them, then the three DS you will not want to play it in three D. Yeah, it's hard for it's definitely to look at it and seeing It's a good point, but do you think he's talking about the motion stuff or do you think he's talking about the actual looking up. I mean, that's that's that's a good question. Also, it's like you, guys, it doesn't sound like a ton of the games thus far have been real heavy and you and you know motion stuff on a train is going to end up being real crazy anyway. It would be super frustrating to play that stuff. Yeah, excellent. Hopefully that answers your question, sir, and thinks ever your route who wrote in once again BombCast at john bomb dot com is the email address. We've got to go. We've got to go see some Mass Effect two. Hell and damn, I've already played that. I already seen that game two. They made more. That's it for this week's editional job bodcast. Thanks for listening. We're back next Tuesday with another Nation of the gibroadcast.
