gonna be a good one. We got a legend on
the show. Listen, this is you know what I'm saying.
He's our resident chef in the building. You know, we
always criticized my man Jeff about his food takes and
the stuff that he decided to do in like nice establishments.
He puts ketchup on stak and he's been finding some
support out here.
We want to see, how do you feel about that.
I've never been around.
It's very it's very hood. I see where JT coming from.
You know what I'm saying, because ketchup really and it's
got to be hindes. I ain't never been a hunts cat,
you know what I'm saying. Hans go with everything, bro,
So like I'm trying to peep game, like, okay, if
he in a nice restaurant, you gotta hide it though,
I'm bringing the bottom. Damnt you in a place in
la like you in l a U at State forty eight?
You actually I get some ketchup and you ain't got
no fries, no where. Okay, So he ain't just all the.
Way prize line he lied, Bro, You're still a little
side to ketch up.
So do you do you do you get steak sauce
at all?
Do you do?
Because I don't like, like, honestly, I like a one.
No here, I get it. Are now I got it?
Like one time we went U.
You don't do the.
Highest fifty seven joint because that one, that one's got
a different taste, like that's a little bit more tanging.
No, he just won't catch. I just want to catch.
He's gonna keep it. Section eight Still somebody right my dog?
Young not yall, young tig how you what? I'm good? Man?
They talking about the ketchup. It's gonna be a legendary pie.
Man got we got a legend in the building.
Man, come on, man, like we said, man, legend in
the building. Man, he's been around entire lives entertaining man movies,
TV comedy.
We got the one mister Bill Bell and the Big
Dog Slide.
Man. Man, I'm excited to be here with y'all. Man,
I like what y'all doing that they don't tell y'all
like where the podcast is though. See that's the thing
that's scary about like these podcasts, because you think everyone
is gonna be in this high rise building, like when
you come to. You gotta want to come to y'all
because when you roll up, it looked like an episode
of Being Man.
What season?
Yo, it's bad. The streets is live right now. So
when it because the funny part. When we pulled up,
I was like, when we turned the corner, I was like,
I don't think.
They're here because this is.
It looked like the joint when you drop off the
keys and you roll. But but when you come inside
and super I'm just joking repair buildings.
Say your first house had your best house right right
on your way up. I feel man, listen, appreciate you
pulling up. Man, We got so much talk about listen
to you to it. Man, you're a hooper. Man, yes, sir,
Now I got out here.
Be here. You know I'm saying.
He's been going around playing a lot of celebrity podcasts
and shut the top, billing y'all thing y'all trying to
jump into space?
Man, what's going on? We got t listen.
Listen like I'm still hooping relatively good, like I ain't.
I ain't really explosive like I used to be. Like
if I crossed across you one of two times, I
ain't got no more left because I just don't have
the pop pop I used to have a pop now.
And then not gonna sit down like you know what
I'm saying now.
I'm jump shoting mid range. You know what I'm saying.
I'm giving it simple because like unless I play with
casts that really who I be nervous at these LA
fitnesses and stuff now because it's always like them three
four dudes. They ain't never play organized basketball nowhere. They
run into you, they undercut you. I think they run
right into you with their whole head. You gotta play
like kind of like safety wise, you know what I mean.
When I make it, it's like yeah, yeah, yeah, I
want to get out. I wanted to. I want to
cardio at this point. But like before COVID, it used
to be offish in LA. I used to play up
in a uh Santamona of College on Sundays when I
wasn't working, and Baron Davis would be up there. Uh
uh Paul Pierce. I've seen him up there a couple
of times back in who else was up there?
Crazy?
Uh? What's my man? He always smiling.
Man.
He played for the Lakers. He got in trouble, he
was dating is he is he Nick Young? Yeah, Swaggy
I love Swaggy. He talks so much, tra I love.
I love Swaggy Pee. He always smiling while you're talking.
Trashus. That's a wild hoop session.
BD here and a few gang Game members. The next thing,
they hoop like it was used to be live oops man.
And if you lose, you will be mad because they
had the three courts, so like you're trying to make
it to the middle court and if you lose, you,
oh my god, you'd be waving. You might have to
wait like five six games. That's how good it was.
Who the best celebrity? Lit you in saying who that can?
Who all your years and was in this space some
third thirty years. Yeah, I'm gonna tell you right now,
right now off the top, Chris Brown, I would say,
because I would say Breezy is probably one of the
most athletic guys that I didn't know was that athletic,
Like well, we was. We used to play the Entertainment
League in l A And and he was playing and
he was really good him. Uh flex tank tank It
tank It actually played but he played football basketball. He
used his found in the first quarter oh my god,
be fouling. Just sht out you okay, and then he'll
sing you, sing to you.
So it's weird.
But no, no, but for real taking play. Who else
I played with that was pretty good? That shocked me. Uh,
Julie White, Okay, yeah you can play, Yeah can play.
We want to between you and him me and we've
had some really good battles.
It just to pens. Uh now I kill him.
But a couple of couple of games he caught me slippy,
Like Jeet is tricky because he's like he's kind of like,
uh unexpected quick, you know what I mean, because he
could get valued real quick and whatever. He's not jumping
over you now, but he got he got speed, like
and you know, how to get to the cup.
So I give him respect. You know what I'm saying.
Living up in Jersey, you know what I'm saying. Rutgers
many hoops growing up or you know what I'm saying.
Are you tacked in with Ruggers basketball at all?
Yes?
Yes, yes, So I got to take you back. So
y'all was probably like in third grade then, but some
of the best Rutgers players that when I was at school,
we had John Battle. John Battle was a guard that
made it to the NBA. Roy Henson He uh, yeah,
the NBA he played. Did he play in Atlanta? Yeah,
I think so. I don't know why that popped in
my head. See, anybody else made it to the league.
Not in basketball, but in football. We had Ray Rice.
We had Ray Rice and maybe another other football player
that made it, But not many guys that I knew
doing my span made it. But I played. I played
with a lot of great street ball players, you know
what I'm saying. Back in the day. Like when I
first came to the game, in the early nineties, it
was nothing to play, not to play in the summer
league even like if you could hoop, you could get
on the.
Team, you know.
That was that was a big deal in the East Coast,
like some of the leagues was big. So like if
you knew somebody or you hoop, you could probably get
on the team and be like, you know, coming off
the bench or whatever, but you could play, you know
what I mean. They would let like casts that they
knew play. But one of the best street hoopers I
ever seen in my life outside of skipped to my
lou guard wise, was this dude named Ali. Moo oh yeah, damn,
nothing like that in my life. A blue black on
God had everything. I mean, it was like, let me
give you like ninety two ninety three. I will never
forget this bro. He might have shot evenbody went fifteen
for fifteen, Like it was just unbelievable. He was going
on every way, pulled back floater from the three, going
through don'ke it. I was just like, yo, he's unguardable,
like it was a show in a show, and he
was doing like moves that you ain't seen before, like
like he was doing euros then and we ain't even
know what to call it, Like he was doing tricky
street shit.
Did he travel? We was like, yo, yo, he was
one of them.
Oh that's a New York Elizon for sure.
Yeah he was. We watched basketball.
I remember playing in a game with with Skip right
and now everybody this is we ain't had no back then.
You know, we had to t MO. You know, we
had the little trap fos and shit. So it wasn't
no internet and ship. But in New York cast was
talking about my Skip. They was like, yo, man, you
don't look don't look at him. Don't look at his waist.
You can't guard him. He got it on a string
and he was like what they was like, Yo, I
swear to god, bro, if you if you look at him,
he's gonna put you on the ground. Oh my god, Bro,
I was trying to guard this dude. It was like
I was bro. I went on everything. I was over here,
I was over there. I was like, yo, go get him.
Bro.
Hey, yo, my manet you know what that's when you
know you can't guard Hey, my.
Man, I'm good. He played man Rutger.
Uh.
We played at Uh. It was in New York like
it used to be. So many great celebrity like uh,
some of League Jones.
It was.
It was really an interesting time in the early nineties
because the.
Rutger was the Rutger was must do.
But all the all the pros was there, Like you
couldn't play at the rook unless she was a pro.
Like I never played at the Rutger like that, but
the Rutger was dope to go to. Did you ever
go to the Rutger? Nah? I never was able to
make it. Like we going when we visit and I
want to ask you want to just see somebody? I
wanted to see I want to hear you to my
talking ship.
Everybody was coming through the rug. Did you do it?
Nah? I ain't playing at the rookie you ain't never
want to. Yeah, I played that dykeman, I ain't play
It's the same thing.
But the Rutger was just more of a uh, you know,
a New York kind of like historic thing, like from
when Kobe put up crazy numbers. KD came through like
everybody who was bron did Brian never do ittle?
Fat Joe versus jay Z, but like something happened you
like you said, Fat Joe jay Z.
See that that was the kind of ever we was
in where it was like ballers, guys who were like
good hoopers with pros, and I used to play in
a lot of them. I remember one of my favorite games.
I don't know why you're making me think of this,
one of my favorite games I ever played with pros
was we played at University of Maryland. Penny was in
the Larry Johnson was in the league, Scottie Pippen was playing.
Yo.
This is let me tell you how crazy, this is,
how crazy it was because you could play in the
summer league back then, the pros didn't have no restrictions,
and I played the game with Larry Johnson hurt his back.
Damn yo off.
You know how freakisly athletic Larry Johnson was rand My
mom was the first lebron.
Okay, oh think about size athleticism.
I mean he was probably one of the most athletic
three fours.
I get anxiety comparisons for him.
For Larry Johnson, I could see that, but I'm just saying, like,
when have you ever seen another athletic Larry Johnson?
Especially then? Hell not, let me tell you.
It was so crazy, right, Penny was coming down, you know,
and Penny was really nice, tricky looking off Ally's you know,
he was like, to me, a baby magic. So Penny
came down, boom boom boom, did some real quick cute
ship and just threw it like this. L J came baseline,
but it was a little behind him. He caught it
and still made it bow and then he just went
down and everybody's like, oh ship. He was rolling around,
and that's he never been the same. I remember the
game and that's when they stopped letting him play. Damn
if it ever come up, he'll remember.
Damn show.
I'm giving it real, Keeping it real has the fun
like Barbie work Tonight be here.
Well, yeah, b pull up, I need to drink. Oh god,
damn this for breakfast? Yeah what you're having?
We got to that? Okay, like prestigious me.
Okay we grown?
Yeah, we stay gonna catch up. You know I'm saying.
We still drink all fast around here for sure. Now
on this show, we like to play a lot of
unnecessary videos on here. Okay, sure, here we gotta have tradition.
Go ahead, loved the first one. Shout out to my guy,
h Jermaine Jackson. He is a well we can start there,
Jamaine Jackson. Is he talking about the shot shouts? I
got kept on stage?
Now? Being here?
He had to take it a little quip by his hair.
Found out that apparently his hair on the side is
not paint.
It's his fro. You know this. Let's go ahead and
play the clip for more context.
I can't. I can't take it. You can't help.
It's so crazy. You could be giving us Tonight's lott
on numbers the passport to Sally May.
He keeping a straight face. What do we look about?
He said, he gotta be seventy You think he's seventy.
I'm gonna say seventy one. So Jermaine fifty something, man,
I don't know, I'm gonna say seventy one.
We got wars Heaven seventy one. Oh ship, I just
threw that off there.
So he said, it's all his hair. Be hand, it's
not paying, it's his fro just spat it down. Looks
it looked like the stuff that you do your roof with.
Oh god, you know, you know, like when you get
a leak and you don't want to pay the roofer
you go get, but you gotta heat it, you know.
That's what it looked like. You know, like they'd be like, yo, Jamaine,
we gotta the roof leak and go up there. He'll
just lay his head on there.
You gotta heat that.
Ship up in the ceiling. Really, it's the ship and.
You got to put the mon You gotta use a
web month somebody here do construction.
How big is the bucket?
If my bro I think what you do is when
there there there, I think whenever there's a construction site
and they're doing it, he just go see that bucket
and put his head in there.
And then we get in the car he just lay
it down.
He got a ponytail. Thought it was just playing with me.
If he ever came to my comedy show, I got
a whole hour. I will take his ass up. You
can never go to a comedy club of the hair.
Hell no, he got a little weight. I don't understand
the front though. That's different.
He cut that out.
It's a tunnel, sugar daddy.
But if your sugard, if your sugar daddy looked like that,
he better be taking care of you like that got
to be like, you know what, girl, I'm just I'm
gon ride it out.
He got three more years. I can do three.
Listen when you yo.
But the thing that's so interesting, it's like you know,
and you know this ship, you know, being in the
league and ship. Some people just so eccentric, right, I'm like,
Deebo Samuels throw me off. Deebo Samuels is so talented, right,
but his gear be killing me. Never with Yeah, he
Debo bugged out with it. You know what I'm saying,
Be like, where is he going? He looked like he
just got out a baby off tub with He got
chains on and lip gloves all constant.
But but but he but but he powered up. Yeah,
that's you pulled that pick up? Yo, I did?
I did you look at it? Look at the depot
doing out of pocket? This one right here with the
thigh meet got a little sox and whatever he was
on his version. Listen, it looked like people are scared
to say stuff. Yeah, yeah, because he looked like he bit.
People like you.
Man, I was just playing.
Take it to your show though, like crowding gage with
you love that ship.
That's what people want to hear.
Like comedians, we just want to be in the moment,
like I got scripted ship. That's really really funny. But
I love just being off the rit with it where
you know, I'm just thinking fast, you know. And that's
the beauty of repetition of being doing a lot of
shows and stuff like that. But if Jamaine Jackson or
Debo ever come to my show, stay in the back.
That's what I'm saying. How far back do you go?
Like you mean hard?
Like know what I'm saying, Like if you like, are
you that I can see you?
Yeah? It has to be it has to be natural.
Like for instance, like if I see it and I
think it, I gotta say it like that's just you know,
that's that's a rule.
You know what I'm saying. You like that? What? People
love that about you.
That's why Charles Barkley so damn funny, like saying stuff
on TV like what but it'd be funny because it's
so honest.
And I think the best comedic people do that.
Yeah.
Now I want to ask you this, would you go
front row on your first day to a comedy show?
Would I depend on who I'm with, depend.
Are you dressed to If you look nice, nine times
out of ten you're not gonna get hit. But if
you think think back when Death Jim came out, Martin
was wearing motherfuckers out and if you had an outfit
that was real crazy Martin going right there, and that
makes greatest. Yeah, he is the greatest of that. Martin
would didn't even have to do his set. He was
tearing motherfucker. I used to love that about Martin. Boy,
that's yo, that's them to yo. That's my class. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
that's my class.
That's crazy. Jamie and her too, Jamie.
Yeah, I was on, I was on Joe and Jada
and I said, Yo, we really actually got the best
comedy class ever. Bro, like we probably forty deep. We
probably forty deep in talent. Like if you want to
go through the lineup is crazy. You just said we
got Dave, we got Chris, we got said, we got
d l we got Chris tu du.
What you see what I'm saying. And Eddie Griffin, Steve Harvey.
That's basically everybody that in college that you grew up.
Definitely we were doing and we were all And here's
the dopest thing about it. For the cats that you know,
Bruce Bruce and I'm just rattling names. It was the
first time we ever got a chance to be TV
stars to think about, like we it was making sitcoms
back then that like, so look at all of us
got shows, Like I had a big deal at NBC.
Uh I got I was on the w B said,
and Steve was on the w b H.
Jamie w was on Fox?
Who was that? Who else had a show back then?
Martin Martin's on Fox as well, Steve Harvey's. Damn, I'm
drawing to blame Eddie. Eddie Griffin had a show with Flax.
They did Voice and Space always had knock them in.
So like there were a lot of opportunities that we
got from being very funny that you said.
That, because we talked about it over here all the time,
Like we don't have those same sitcoms like you used
to have those spaces just.
Like look forward to it. Yeah, like you got.
Mike got his Thing on Netflix, was like, is there
a possibility to return it or times that have changed?
They just looking at different direction now. No, I think
we could do it now because we want to see us.
You know if that's why platforms like to be are
doing really well in my opinion, because no matter whether
it's good or bad, we still want to see us.
If we were to put up good content, good shows.
That's why podcasts are really good because people want to
see us being funny and authentically us. So if we
were to put up a great show on any platform,
people will watch it. I think so I would watch it.
I'm looking for I'm watching reruns and shit, that's a
fact all I watch.
Yeah, I watch reruns.

Was on MTV Rocking Jock, That's what it was.
That was my ship. Man. How old were you when
you was watching? I had what year was it? From
ninety two?
From right from ninety I was on MTV from ninety
one to ninety eight, right, So we were doing it
every year, and it got bigger and bigger. And this
is why I love the nineties. It was so dope
because I got a chance to meet some of my
favorite heroes. You know, you know, I played ball with GP,
Kevin Garnett was fresh in the league, Rick Jeter, Alex Rodriguez.
Uh also the kid to play baseball, King Griffy Junior.
Man. It's like who else played from that was in
the league?
Uh? That go up there, Brian and Knight? Uh you
see me there? Who was in the middle right there?
Did that be famous?
Right here? That's what you want to beam. I wanted
to do because it was you. He was what was dope?
Brock rocking jockey was kind of silly, but we was
actually playing and it was actually the celebrity game. But
we had all them bullshit baskets.
Did you remember? Right?
Fun?
Like Gary Payton to this day got the most points
I think you got.
Remember he had like one hundred and seventy five points. Yo,
he figured out how to get the fifty to fifty
was way up and.
He did the fifty and it fell into twenty five.
I was I want to get on this game so bad.
I was like six or seven. That's dope. You remember that? Though?
It was fun.
That's a fun era, real celebrity speaking of basketball, Go ahead,
loaded up man, My boy Scott been piled almost sorry,
d real tragic right here. That show to God, he said,
come on.
God is good.
The cameras at crashed out.
He said, what is love? Love ever sing? They've never
seen that before? What happened has happened. Just gonna let
it happen, Okay, let it ride.
You got to gotta love. You want to love.
I was gonna have obviously, even to a company for
so long has the guidelines gonna change with taking a
little bit different.
We can't say nothing. Yea, Bernie Mack wouldn't made it.
Bernie Mac when hell, Bernie with.
A crash, the boys in the choir. Okay, heavin New York,
Bernie with a crash. I remember the first time. This
is so funny.
I'm gonna do it in a comedic way because it
was the first time I ever seen it before.
Right, so I forget.
It was the NFL Draft and I think his name
is Mike saying miss mister sec everything worldwide. He was
like he was, he was everything right, So I was like, yo,
because I don't you know, I don't know anything. So
I'm like, I love I love sports. I love football, basketball, whatever.
So I'm like, yo, my man, s he's moving like that.
That's dude is crazy. So I'm like so, I'm like
invested in it. So I'm like this. I'm like, yo,
I'm watching it. I'm like, yo, I know he gonna
go big because I was watching him kill. He was
like a baby Lawrence Taylor, right, So I was like,
dang man, this dude, Mike sam Boy, this Blue right,
I know he's going top five blah.
Blah blah.
Right, so I'm watching the Dragon.
I had to say, sorry, said because it just caught
me on card, so you know you don't expect.
That on that.
So we had the crib, you know, when we drinking
and stuff, and because I always watched the cap, you know,
I'm keeping it one thousand, right, So I'm like, oh, man,
I know my man, Mike said, when poor some of
this motherfucker Man. I know Sam about to get it.
I know he's going top y. I'm drinking and stuff.
And they said give it up for Mike's damp and
up and then my man turned.
I said, we hone.
Then he kissed my man in the mouth of the cake.
I said, just yeah.
Time.
I was like, okay, congratulations.
Now speaking about that, we could get off of it.
But you and Jamie Fox like that on the episode.
Oh yeah yo yo yo, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
Remember I had the big time coming.
But see, that's the thing that I love about the nineties.
In that era, we could joke about stuff and not
be offensive, but we talk about you know, we pushed
the line a little bit crazy. But now if you
were to do that same thing on TV, man, they
might cancel your show. I don't think that's fair. I
feel like we should be able to laugh and like,
you know, lungs were not being disrespectful. You feel me
like we know, you know, we know what we're dealing with.
But I'm saying like in a respectful way. Humor is
humor facts bro like on some real funny shit, like
why is people like Oh like I did a joke
one time, I said, and I put this up.
I was like, yo, man, whatever whatever was wrong with you?
Back in the day.
It used to be your nickname, Like think back when
you was a kid and you was in the hood,
to be like yo, you know crosside Larry Man. I
ain't saying to me all right, it used to be
whatever is wrong with you? Your club with Willie? Yo,
he can't play today? Oh hey, miss Willy Willy not
coming out now? His foot, his food some wrong for today.
It's like you know what I mean, bow leg and
Shirley whatever you and y'all.
And then we used to say midgets. You can't say
that now you got to say little people. And I
had a funny situation right with this little person. I
want to say midget so bad, but I shouldn't be drinking.
So listen, I'm in the club right and I keep
hearing a voice, so you know how the bar is
like we tall guys, so the bar's probably hitting us,
like mid right here right so up here lives a
lot of people.
And and I hear a voice say help, said, what
is going on?
Man? You hear that?
And Yo, my man, can you help me? And I
look down. It's this little midget lady. She said, I've
been down here trying to get a drink. I said,
are you serious? You've been right there that with you?
She was like yeah, I was saying help. I was like,
you know, can you tell the bartender I need a drink?
So I picked her up and put her on the
on the counter like and she said thank you. Everybody
busted out laughing, But that was just me being the
comedie in the moment, because I was like, if you
stay down, ain't nobody.
Can see you? Nobody. I thought that was a kid.
I was a kid. I thought we should.
I was like, that's a real kid.
Okay, bad, But she was that size, the solid.
They like baby people always, they feel like them bullies.
You know they're tight.
That you never picked up a pity.
But that's what the experienced that always you see that
at the backup, and they always got a wagon on them.
Girls do they always be streussed. So you sound like you,
my dude, I could talk to you.
So.
So back in the day, we're in New York, right,
I don't know why you making me think of so
when in New York and it was this one girl.
She's a little Puerto Rican, a little person, a little
cutey though she had a bubble. They coming every every national.
I didn't know that, And so me and my boys
used to be talking like that, like we'd be like, yo, man,
if she was just a little taller. Though you know,
you know, cats don't act like they won't do it,
but they talk about it, man, real talk me if
she could get some regular hands on because I think
them no hands throw you off.
The crazy. I thut.
That little hand.
Touched me on the outside because the fats be stubby.
I got construction work. The niggas say that. Can we
say this?
Yeah, I'm sorry, I should have never had this whole
fashion crazy what you're talking about too? Yeah, but so
you sound like you like you wanted my boys. That's
how we be talking back in the day. It was
this one cute, little Puerto Rican little person and she
was she was adorable too, and she was so nice.
But she was actually really pretty girl. And we used
to be like, man, she used to do all the parties,
hand out the flys for the next party thing. And
so me and my boys we drinking in the club
like real tall dog everything. You might catch me, but
we ain't never seen what you man, He's like he
got like I got, I keep I keep betting there
like a spar the game.
I love this podcast. I love this podcast. Appreciate thank you,
thank you for the cocktail. I want to ask you
about like the movies, man, Yeah, like how to be
the player? You know what I mean. I kind of
lived my life a little bit like that.
Okay, little something for about a twenty one, about twenty five.
Okay, you had a four year like a college.
Yeah, you you know what I mean. I was inspired
by that movie. Man, What went into that role?
Like?
What made you take that role? Like that?
What I I was just getting that real money, you
know what I'm saying.
At first, you know, like when you're getting the league
yet first you get that first solid contract, you know,
you know you straight you seven figures with it? Would
you buy first? Crazy purchase a crib? Tid of living
in apartments and stuff? So most cats was my cars.
I just bought nice crib off the rip because my
big thing was I want something to put my car in,
you feel, I mean, I didn't want to have a
car and you know, be at the bullshit apartment type shit.
So the first thing was a crib. So I'm really
I'm single, you know what I'm saying. I'm gonna getting
that like first level of like cool success that's starting
to happen. Then I get this movie, right, so I'm like, damn,
this movie kind of lie. So I figured when I
read the script, the first version of it was the
character wasn't very likable.
He was very arrogant.
So I was like, that's not gonna work. So I'm
talking with Mark Brown and I was like, he can't
be arrogant because no one's gonna like him. I said,
he gotta be charming and funny so that the stuff
he doesn't that he's doing is not going to come
off offensive. He's got to be like almost getting lucky,
you know what I mean. So we went back and forth,
and he was like, yeah, but I like them notes.
I was like, yeah, we could think about it. Women
got to watch it and want to like it. We
can't just have dudes in the theater and they get
in a fight with their chick because this dude is
just smashing everything moving. I said, what it's got to
be is like he's in the candy store. He just
got the best day of his life. He can get
any candy he want today. And it's basically because how
to be a player is basically the best day of
your life. You're getting all the chicks you want, you
having the most fun, and you're bringing your friends.
That's really what the movie is.
So and so with that kind of energy, I was like,
I am going to bring so much fun to the
character that women won't have a chance to get mad
at me. That's just gonna be like he is stupid
as hell, Like oh my god, he got another girlfriend,
he got this right here. And then the dudes will
be like, yeah, nigga, I do that's me all day.
Yeah.
And I have had guys from every age group say yo, man,
I was in high school, Me and my brother used
to watch that. My mama used to want us to
watch it. I have guys in the twenties, thirties, forties,
and fifties that watched How to Be a Player, and
that was what thirty years ago, twenty seven, I don't know.
But it was.
It's amazing to do a movie that make people feel
like that. I don't know if I could do that now.
But look at the cast. We had Bernie mac pierre,
We had Natalie Deasel, we had AJ Johnson rip, we
had Gilbert Gottfried in there. We had.
Anthony Brown was in there, he was playing.
Uh. Who else I had? And I had at least
Neil Yes, wow, let me think, let me think, Let
me think, let me think somebody else. Oh. Oh, we
had Goldie Max Julian, who was a wonderful person. So
my sister passed away that Natalie Sell. We lost a
few cast members. Uh.
We also lost Bernie obviously, we lost Max Julian and A. J.
Johnson.
So, I mean, you know, it's a blessing that their
legacy is still moving, you feel me. So I think
that was a wonderful thing.
It's like you have a cult classic, especially in our community,
Like that's a classic. Yes, what's that feeling like because
we see a lot of movies that, you know what
I'm saying, people might like, but it's like that.
They don't love it, Like, yeah, everybody loved this movie.
Perre was a horrible wing man. Oh yeah, he's low
key a hay mass niggas. Yeah, loky he said no, scream.
No. Like this podcast, we talked about how people get
treated like outside of their character in the real world,
we would have treated Pere back in the God Yeah,
I want to do people feel like that about him
down like because people treat me like, you know, they
like me because they feel like I'm that guy, like
you know what I mean. A lot of rappers just
be like, yo, I'm in the club, like Bill Bellamy
or they a lot of songs, like I'm in a
lot of songs. So it's like, whatever that character is,
it resonates with cool, It resonates with being being on,
you know what I mean, Like I'm on, I'm up.
So like if you play a lame character, I wanted
to do people be like man, yo, order they be
giving Pierre.
He never told me that.
I wonder I would that he was funny though, as
funny as hell, but I'm saying you that movie. Man,
it's like everybody can relate to somebody. Yes, I got
an uncle like you know Anthony, or a just anybody
like all them characters are relatable to the neighborhoods. I
had a dude a couple of months ago said that
he did his whole closet because of that, because of
how to be playing.
He wanted all his sneakers lined up, and I forgot
about that. I was like, yo, yeah, my closet was
kind of limb. He had lighting in it.
Yes, it was kind of dope. Yeah, And I had
to And I'm gonna tell you how much that movie
affected me. So when I did the movie, I went
after I had the movie, I had never had a
loft before. I went out and found me a loft
bro And so now this is so crazy, how art
in Matta's life. So I literally lived in a real loft,
like I had a three, three level loft, just like Drake.
It was so crap.
I was like, yo, man, I'm really living in shit.
Because it wasn't that it wasn't a lot of people
who had lost because that's when it was converting, you know,
old schools and warehouse buildings into like lawful apartments and stuff.
So sure I would ask you this question.
Obviously, still on the road, still good money, still doing
stand up, How would you tell yourself to start doing
comedy in twenty twenty six because Louday, it's like we
don't see as many stand up We see a lot
more Instagram comedians skits like those are the more popular things.
How would you start in today's era on the ground.
So I think what they're doing is is wonderful because
you ain't got to wait, you know what I'm saying,
Like you showcase, you are funny, you can tell a story,
you can think of something really quick. I think that's
the beauty of technology. Now does not mean you're comedian
yet you could be funny now, you know, it's a
lot of these cats do skits and you got to
edit voice over, yes, sir, But that stage with a
microphone and just some water and the stool, that shit
hit different. And that's like trying to guard this nigga.
And you play at La Fitness and when he going
full throuer and you like, oh man, I'm mister La Fitnis,
not today for your pro So that's what that's where
you gotta you know, you gotta go.
Okay.
I can get on like this, but I gotta do
practice to get there, you know what I mean, Because
comedy is an art form like it is. Like I
tell my son, it's like shooting shots. You gotta get
shots up. You cannot be a shooter without shooting. You
cannot be become a great shooter if you're not in
the gym pot up shots. I tell my son shit
all the time, say, bro, you're never gonna be a
great shoot unless you shoot a lot of shots. Now
you now the ones you missing, You're gonna start making
because you shoot. It's just like some of them bad
jokes I did that, I've messed up. If I was
practicing more, that gap closes. Now my set is better,
you feel me. It's the same thing. And you know,
and not just telecats. Don't cheat the game. You know
you could get famous on it. You can get famous
on the internet. I love these dudes that's killing, Like
Mojo Brooks, that dude he fully enough, motherfucker. Daisy Banks
funny than a motherfucker, DC Young Fly funny than a motherfucker.
These cats. Off the top of my head, I think
they have the best of everything. Why they're really really funny.
They are not cheating the game. They are talented, and
they embrace their fan base. They don't just get Like
I was just talking with DC the other day. We're
working on a movie. He was like, yo, man, I
gotta keep feeding it because that's what that people know
me from. He didn't go, oh, now that I'm big
on this and that he's still funny, and that's the beauty.
Like for me as a OG, if I think of
something right now, I'll be like, damn, man, I'm gonna
go on my car real quick. Let me get my
camera in because I got an idea and I could
that ship. A lot of that shit go viral, because
if I'm waiting for my special to come out or
I'm waiting for the movie to come up, y'all might
not see the movie. You might not see my comedy special.
But if I put up them little commercials that keep
me relevant, especially if I hit you know, Jermaine Jackson,
I do something body's haircut, I do. I pick a
topic that's so right now, Like you know, the Diddy
thing right now is crazy. It's in the culture, it's
in the people's mind like, oh my god, did you
ever go like you know, like people people like thinking
about it, like because back in the day, you know,
maybe going to that party would have been a thing,
but now you like, did you go fair? Oh god, everybody, Yeah,
you wouldn't saying COVID speaking about the internet. Like during COVID,
them stories said they don't get.
You said some ship, I said, Bill Cloud.
But you know, but the thing about me, well, I
don't think people get mad at me because I'm never
mean about it. I'm just telling you my perspective, Like
I just did this thing where it really happened when
I met Manny Fresh. And I'm a big Many Fresh fan,
but I never met him in person. But I love
Manny Fresh, right, And so people's like, you say, why
would you do that? But it's true. So to think
about Many Fresh to me because I love music, right,
So his own style, his own sound. I don't know
if you know how many artists. I mean, he's the
he's the mastermind behind you know, Lil Wayne and you
know Cash Money. He was doing this is when nobody
knew who Manny Fresh was. They just knew the beats.
So I've been following his career, but I was I
never met him right. So I was in Houston and
my boy a, who do my security?
When I'm there?
He was like, yo, b man, you know Many Fresh
is in town. He got a little joint. You gotta
pull up. It's gonna be crazy. I said, Oh my god.
So I get there and I'm like, man, I can't
wait to meet Many Fresh. So I get into the
VIP and I'm looking cause I'm thinking Many Fresh probably tall,
you know whatever.
And I'm like standing around looking and.
Person djaaning and I'm like, yo, he must have a
warm up joint, you know, because they don't come out
right away. I got there probably like a quarter to
twelve twelve thirty. I was like, man, he ain't coming out.
But every time I look over there, it was like a.
Stud and she was like, yo, what's up? Like, oh,
he helping them people out?
You know.
I'm just honest, but I'm drunk. I'm drunk. I'm looking.
I'm like yo, this stuff keeps saying what's up? But
I'm like yo, I'm like yo, you know, I never
see this stuff. Dj I was like, Okay, this stud
is doing either she's doing a thing. So so that's
like once your team and I'm like, yo, aw man,
I'm about to leave. Man, I'm waiting to meet many fatt.
She said, why you ain't saying he right there? I
was like, what, I ain't know the study.
From the this bro I told the story. People that.
Start following me this. It wasn't a mean story. This
is like I didn't know, especially off that liquor. It
definitely yes, I'm drinking. I don't know, man, And everybody's like,
you crazy. I'm like dog because he ain't got no
facial hair, no eyebrows, and that's the hair.
Stood here cut right.
I was crazy about that story we had with the
villet with my nephew did the same exact thing like
many first he like.
No, like like, were you crazy? He did the same exactly.
But so so you know, I'm not loud, you know
what I mean?
Everybody, It's just like people don't think I'm that tall.
Like when people meet me, they'd be like, oh, that
ain't no bill bailing me, Bill bailing me little. And
then when they meet me, they'd be like, damn, b
you kind of tall. I'm like, I don't know what
I look like on TV. You know what I'm saying.
It's the same kind of concept, and especially when you
meet celebrities like like I remember the first time.
I met y'all mean. Oh man, man, you ain't never
seen nothing like this, Like, you know.
Like I didn't know a human being could be that
big for sure, y'all mean was unreal.
I was like, god damn.
And he played basketball And that's crazy because you know Shaq,
like that's failing me.
So like, yeah, craz Shack is regular to him. If
you don't see y'all mean, Shack's the biggest guy in
the world. And then you put y'all mean next to Shaq,
Shaq looked like he was sixteen or six nine.
It was crazy.
So that's that's the concept. That's why now you have
one of my favorite skifts. He said, crackass came out right.
No crackhads my favorite Instagram Man.
Crackheads can't lie, man, crackheads. Everybody got a cousin, a
friend that's a crackhead. But the thing about crackheads to
me that's funny is they tell you what you want
to hear to get the crack. Like they're not gonna
they'll tell you anything, you're gonna do better. Yeah, you
know that stuff gonna kill you. You're gonna stop right, yeah,
And I'm gonna give you this money. And when when
you when they see you about to get it, they
start doing like this, nobody do this. It's all wrong
because because they be excited, you could give a crackhead
twenty dollars. It's like they hit the lottery and everything
that you're trying to continue to say that, they run.
So you'd be like, listen, I'm gonna give you this money, dog, okay,
and I want you to get you something to eat, bro,
and get you some new socks.
And they be like as soon as you put it in. Yeah,
you feel like you don't get them to get that crack.
I don't want to say what I really want to,
but they just they're just more grateful than the other
people that be outside.
You're gonna be right. Yeah. I love a good crackhead, bro.
Support like everywhere.
But here's the thing about cracks, because it's a joy
when you give them that dub, it's a joory.
Yeah that makes you human.
Yes, I've seen a crackhead fall off the roof, get
up and keep walking.
Oh god, that's all my uncle hired for his construction staff.
So we see that all the time.
Youads, Yes, bro, I ain't gonna shout this coupley because
you know right right, I don't want to.
Up the business. That's a real company, that's my brother ship.
Bath.
It's a bad shout out. If you don't do it,
don't do it. Don't do it. Though, if we got here,
who's some of your favor players currently playing the league?
I know you still tapped in.
Oh man, I love so many players. Man, Okay, all right,
let me go. Guards.
I'm gona do. I'm gonna go by position, so my
guards right now, shay, yeah, killing the game. Anthony Edwards, Uh, well,
he's not playing, but I love Jason Tatum. I hope
he comes back healthy. Who else is currently playing that?
I love watching him get busy? Uh, let me go, Steph. Obviously,
I'm going down the West coast.
Uh do do do do do do do do?
Kd Well, Katie really a three but he a fucking guard,
but sure, let me go, let me go east. Jalen
Bronson little little big man, a little bit man, little
foot work. Jayleen Bronson, got if Jalen Bronson was six
six sixty seven.
It's already crazy.
But I think he might be five to eleven maybe
maybe five ten, maybe six foot the most cook everybody.
I love his head, he'd be crazy.
Uh. Who else on it? I'm going down the East
the East. Oh h Darius Garland, can't nobody guard him?
Super tricky. Uh Donovan Mitchell another one my favorite, going
down on the East coast.
Uh, Miami, you're a Laker fan. I love the Lakers.
I like I like Luca.
I just don't he don't play good enough d for
for me, Like he don't help me, like you know
what I mean. Like I love Luca offensively. I think
he's unguardable. He's he's he big slow.
So let me ask you this question, PERP. We just
had a debate, me and him. He taking Jalen Brown
or Luca right now this year?
Don't move the gobos, that's what that's the if I
if I gotta, if I gotta be one hundred. If
it's not just about buckets, I'm going with Jalen Brown.
Thank you. That's all I want.
Listen making money moves. Last night, Jalen Brown is aver
drop fifty fifty.
It was mad.
He didn't get that Player of the month but drop fifty.
But this is the thing like about basketball that I
could share with you that from my perspective is there's
certain guys that do certain things really, really well.
And they lock in on that. Luca is all offense.
And that's cool.
If you know you need a bucket. Okay, cool, Who's
gonna lock down?
Luca?
Not locking down nobody in the playoffs, Bro, he not.
He don't extend the energy that it takes to play
d So how he helping you? He turned sideways, He
laying cast roll. So y'all just catching him on this
bad day.
No, no, loca, no no, I'm just saying, Bro, in
the playoffs, we gotta get to the playoffs.
I'm a Laker fan. He do it, Okay, he do
his thing, and a player, he's not gonna guard.
No. Now, listen, Bill, That's why I'm paying nigga Bill
belling me, Jamie Foxx.
I'm paying your other niggas to do this other ship.
Okay, I'm here. But you're a big guard, right Yeah.
It's the thing, Bro, At some point you gotta guard
because you can't.
You can't. This is why, Okay, see so dope, they
play defense.
For real.
Nineties God damn Detroit Piston's defense.
So when you're playing them, right and they all on
the floor, they all tipping, they all they're trantic about it, right,
So so we gotta play seven games of that?
Bro, you cooked for sure.
I'm tired.
I'm just I'm just saying, for player, if you just
going out to hoop, is Luca bro he unguardable brow
when you're doing the team and all this, but if
you put four definitors or three two defenders around? Okay,
but if he I'll tell you how Luca can help us.
If he averaged a double one and assists, that's that
that will help him. Because if he can come off
the pill, he don't need forty a game, he don't
need thirty five. Luca could do twenty five.
And ten every night easily, about thirty.
He's doing thirty five and ten, he's doing he's doing thirty.
I'm fo hey, Luca, I'm sorry, I got my numbers.
What you would saying today numbers thirty three.
I'm just saying.
I'm just saying, conceptually, if you're trying to win, you
know what you're saying You can't ask Lebron at this
point in his career to do all of that. You
hire these young guns, you know, maybe we grab one
more piece somebody that's gonna rock out. But Lebron and
Luca are ball dominant. It's very hard hard to have
a team when the ball don't move like that. So
when you gotta when you got a team. This is
why the Patients, to me, was was dope when they
was winning before Tyreege got hurt.
The pall is like fling flint.
Don't nobody care? Who get thirty? Don't nobody care? When
when the Celtics, when the Celtics were at their best,
they was moving the ball. So the better the better
teams that's playing like the community, they win because you's
hard to guard them niggas like you stuff. So so
case in point, I don't know why you got me
talking about because I love basketball, But the thing that's
the hardest thing to me to watch is when the
ball be sticking because everybody watching, you know, or Lebron,
who I love the goat. Whatever, Lebron need eight dribbles,
he not Lebron or Jordan. No, Lebron is the goat
of this decade. He's not the goat of basketball. Jordan
Michael Jordan, I whatever, No, I'm just being honest. I'm
just Michael Jordan. But of this decade of twenty years
that I've been a fan of basketball, Lebron is the
greatest player that I've seen in this era.
Lebron is the best basketball player in the last thirty years.
I'm just giving it to you.
Yeah, I was watching Lebron since she was in the
ninth grade, So I'm invested.
I've seen it.
When they said when they was like, yo, he gonna
be the next I was like, Okay, well he's only
in the tenth grade. He's playing in the arenas. He
did everything they said, be a witness. Oh he's stronger, bigger,
he's killing NBA players in eleventh grade.
He did all that. So fact. I mean, so you're
taking over Mike. Okay, no, not over team. So you
started team and you start a team when we're doing
what we're doing. He starting team with Jordan Jordan and
Lebron in the prime thro both. Yeah, you're just starting.
We're just starting the team. Bro, this show, you got the.
I'm going with Mike on I gotta go with Mike,
we're starting, Yeah, because we Mike, Mike, Mike is that
It's that that nucleus for you. Now if if we're
building a team different, a different type of team. Because
to me, what cast On ever talk about is Lebron
is magic. Nobody even give him that. Stop trying to
compare him to Michael Jordan's compare him to magic. He
has all those attributes, leadership on the floor, pass the ball,
He's unselfish, He's unguardable, stronger, bigger than any guard. He
can get to the cup. He fixed every part of
his game since he started. Lebron has fixed every flaw
in his game.
It's the fact, oh he.
Can't he can't close. He closed, he can't play with
his back to the baskets.
Like the greatest. To me, do what you describe, It's
not like the great It's only sound like the greatest
of you know what I'm saying, Like, how do you
feel I think he the greatest ever? I mean yeah,
I mean I grew up in there, so Mike. I
think Mike is like somewhere over there. I can't believe
he like real, Like that's how good.
Saying what I'm saying in your experience. What you witnessed.
Lebron is the go to eyewitnessed both live and I
can only separate it like this.
It's like almost trying to say Michael Jackson and.
Chris Brown they both great. They don't have to be
greater than the other. They're both great. They're just they're
striking in different decades.
I don't think Mike, I don't think.
We who closing your concert? Then you got the money
to afford both of them who closed your Michael Chris.
It's not about who better. I was just Michael Jackson closing,
but Chris Brown on his ass. Mike might have to
do another move work. I knew.
Because Chris Brown is flipping.
Three hour shows. You have been to Chris Brown show?
Yes, yes, christ special hits. You get a headache. You
forgot it like you were like, oh, I know Chris Brown.
What that's right?
He definitely don't need to open up. Let me tell
you how crazy Chris Brown show is and nobody says this.
Chris Brown can do another tour with just the features
he was on. God, yes, all besides, I'm just doing
features. Him and Drake can do that.
I'm just gonna do a concert with the features I did.
I'm not gonna do my other stuff. That's how good
they are. That's how much content they put out. What
artist CEO generation you think could do something like that?
Besides R Kelly, what side arenas? Oh, it's so many
people besides I love R Kelly.

Uh So R Kelly had a row like we was
all in the same row, and he bought Hennessy for
the entire row, right, and so I had met Rob
many of times, but this is like the first time,
Like I'm drinking with him, like real, He off the.

times I hung out with him, he was so dope,
I mean, and just a genuine kind of dude. Like
he would take every he would get us all drunk,
he take us all out, like he was he and
he was a hoper too.
He liked to play ball, so I used to with
him sometimes.
It was fun.
I respect man, and I see I see you respect Hill.
Let's scoud your generation. He always off the course of
what he did. That's his life, you know what I mean.
But we're just talking about the music music. I don't
know if it's another epic uh person of my decade
that could really kill it like that.
Well you gotta go with like shot, eh.
Lauren Hill, or he'll just be on time. Yeah, Lauren,
He'll not gonna come. But I'm trying to think right now,

Whatever, I think.
I remember seeing Katino in my mind. So anyway, we're
rolling up in the club. We all fly.
It's a bunch of bad chicks in the VIP. So
imagine walking to VIP.
It's the one where all the couches along like this,
you sitting looking this way, you sitting this way, and
Kells is all the way at the back looking this way.
So I gotta step up and walk in and I
see Kells. I said, oh shit, Kills for something, you
go like you do like this, like what up, nigga?
You in the game nigga, you live here.
