#562 - Bobby, Morgan1 and Mike D Do a Q+A: Favorite Concerts, What They Wish They Were Better At, Why Bobby Blacklists Guests
Bobby sits down with Morgan 1 and Mike D for a laid-back Q+A that ends way more honest than they planned. They trade stories about the best concerts they’ve ever been to, from childhood shows to the ones that still feel unreal. They also admit the things they secretly wish they were better at on the air, off the air, and in real life. Bobby then pulls back the curtain on why some guests get quietly blacklisted from the show, how those decisions are made, and what it takes to get back in good graces. Along the way, there are side trails, a few awkward confessions, and some moments they almost talk themselves out of sharing but leave in anyway.

00:00:07 Speaker 1: Welcome to episode five sixty two of the Bobby Cast. It is me also with Morgan Number one and Mike d. So I want to tell a story about this album right here. This is a old Chro Medicine Show Christmas vinyl if you're watching on YouTube, you can see it here and signed by all the guys of All Crow Medicine Show. And so yesterday I went to a record store in town called Grimey's and Grimes If you ever come to Nashville and you're looking for a cool record stores, probably one of the top three. Mike, Yeah, I would say number one. I would say number one, two, But I'm not cool enough to know the top record store, say number one. I know two record stores that and Third Man that and the one that Jack Why Does. That's the only ones that I know. And I've been to Jack Whites and it's cool, but it's really small, yeah, and this one's a lot bigger and they have older vinyls. So I go in and I was looking for some records, not to play, but to just have put up on little stands inside of our new studio. And so I'm in and I'm looking for Counting Crows August and everything. After I'm looking for a Food Fighters record. I'm looking for like old Buddy Holly stuff, just stuff that I like. And when I get to Grimy's, there's a lot of cars in the parking lot and it's two thirty in the afternoon, and so I have to drive all the way around. Not a huge parking lot, but I have to drive all the way around just to find an open spot. And I'm like, dang, what's going on here? So I walk in and there's a band that's playing the small stage in the record store, and so like all that's interesting. It's a bluegrass band and they don't have like a solo microphone for the person. They have one of those microphones, and everybody kind of gathers around while they're playing their instruments. And okay, cool, I picked today where somebody's showcasing their music. But I'm still gonna look for the records that I want. I'm not gonna pay much attention to it, but if it's good, maybe I'll take an Instagram story and post it up. So they keep playing the same song over and over again, and I haven't really walked up to the stage yet, but they played this song four times in a row, and like, man, these guys must have just one song. And so finally they're like, okay, I think that's good, and I walk a little closer to it because I'm trying to find like the used albums because vinyl's expensive. I it's like forty bucks for a new one. So I was trying to find used stuff because again, I just wanted to use the more than anything, just like the case, what would you call this leave? Yeah, thinks and so I realize it's all cro medicine show up on the stage. Now, I have met Ketch a few times. I've played the opry, when he's played the opera, he's done the radio show. Has he ever done this podcast? No radio shows, though, so I know catch enough. If I saw him at a grocery store, i'd say hi. If we were close enough, I wouldn't chase him down, Like I don't know, I'm not well to go chase him down to say hi. But I know I'm well enough that if we're in the same place, for sure, And so he comes up and again I'm gonna be honest with you, guys, I didn't know they were there. But I do enjoy Alcro Meta the show and rock me Mama like a wagon will catch comes up. We got dude, thanks for coming to the show, Like, oh my god. I was like, yeah, I wouldn't miss it. I don't think I said I wouldn't miss it, to be honest. I think I said something like yeah, like something very nondescript like yeah about that. It's definitely why I'm here. And so they were rehearsing. It's why they kept playing the same song over and over again. I didn't realize, and they put Christmas hats on, and that's when I realized they were playing the show. And then people started a jam pack into the record store and so he's like, man, thanks for coming. Let me get you a record, and they got the whole band to sign it. And then I also had to get home. I got a pregnant wife and it's almost five o'clock and so I got a pregnant wife and she was expecting me to get food and bring food back too, And so they were starting the show, but I didn't want to walk out before they started the show because I just had this whole conversation with him about Arkansas, about he's now engaged to mall tuttle. They just got engaged, and I hope that that's not a secret. You may look and see if that's up good anywhere. So when they start playing, I watched a song and then I slowly backed out, like I just so everybody, this is one of the check out Old Crow Medicine Shows Christmas album. Oh CMS Xmas. You can see it here. They engaged. What's it say? 00:04:27 Speaker 2: Yeah, story came out twenty minutes ago. Is what I'm seeing. 00:04:30 Speaker 1: Oh that's great, Well this is going to take a minutefore he posted. Anyway, okay, there you go. Well good. So what I'd like to say, because I was not totally honest about it about why I was there is support them stream their music or check out their vinyl Old Crow Medicine Show Christmas. There you go. That's what happened yesterday. And then I posted the picture on Instagram and more than one person was like, why are you at a show on a weeknight? So I wasn't. It was like four o'clock in the afternoon and I was trying to find vinyl. 00:05:00 Speaker 2: I assumed you were like filming a special or something or doing a segment with it. 00:05:04 Speaker 1: An Old Crow medsage jokers and a special. 00:05:06 Speaker 2: He has to be going out for content if he's at a weeknight. 00:05:09 Speaker 1: Yeah, well it wasn't I posted it at night. Yeah, but it was an afternoon and I kind of walked in on that. So I have Morgan here as well. I think we should talk about I don't think it's a mess up. I think there was just a bit of confusion. So oh man, I was very excited because there is a former Navy seal that has a massive podcast named Sean Ryan, and I consume his podcast mostly through clips, which I think is how a lot of people consume a lot of stuff. But I watch enough of it. I recently just watched one of this woman who escaped North Korea. Have you guys seen that one Sydney clip? They're crazy like that at night, they didn't even have electricity, like it all get shut off in North Korea, Like she didn't even know what was outside of North Korea, obviously because they have such a propaganda machine. And Sean Ryan was asking her like how did you escape? Like how did you know when do escap? Because they will just shoot you. Those guards on the North Korea South Korea border, the ones from North Korea. I've seen enough videos where people have tried to escape. They just shoot and kill you. They don't like to escape. She said. They picked the absolute coldest, most miserable day in North Korea to escape because they knew the guards wouldn't want to be uncomfortable and be standing outside. 00:06:18 Speaker 3: And so I gotta do what you gotta do. 00:06:20 Speaker 1: Yeah, but you don't even know what's out there, right, You don't even know if you're escaping what you're escaping too. So I'm watching this video and I was just actually just purposefully taking notes because I like watching a lot of what this guy does. There was another one with a hacker. We brought a hacker, and the hacker was like, this is how we set up and hacked people, and he basically hacked him in the studio. 00:06:42 Speaker 3: Was it a tutorial that we could go back and watch and learn how to do ourselves. 00:06:46 Speaker 1: I didn't show you how to hack, but it did show you, he said. I've put up a free internet, and if you get onto this free internet, the first thing that you do is it brings up that screen. Like if you go to the airport and you get on the airport WiFi, it brings up that hey, do you agree to accept? And you go, yeah, you don't even read it, just click accept, and he goes, I can build one of these anywhere and label it anything, and as soon as the screen pops up that looks official, and you type in your name and you know your email, addressing password, whatever, I got it. I have everything I need from you. Man. 00:07:14 Speaker 2: That's one skill I wish I had me too. 00:07:16 Speaker 3: The same. 00:07:16 Speaker 1: Yeah, coding, I won't even have to go to hacking. I won't even back up have a step like even like general coding of like building websites or apps. That would be cool, but then I'd probably want to learn to hack after I learned to code. 00:07:28 Speaker 2: I learned that on MySpace when you'd build your own profile, I'd like very early like JavaScript, I'm like, I can build a web page, and now I want to hack somebody. 00:07:36 Speaker 1: So I was taking notes on Sean Ryan because I said to Morgan, hey, we should get him on the show on this podcast, because I'm a big fan and I know he lives here. And so we have people that we work with that if we're like, hey, we'd like to have this person on, they go and do Hey, would you come on this podcast, this is who it is, this is the reach of the show. And Morgan like a day later, was like, we got him. 00:07:59 Speaker 3: I was so oh jacked because I knew you were going to be excited. 00:08:02 Speaker 1: I was super excited. He has like five million followers on just YouTube. Right, it's a massive show, and I thought, man, he must like be a fan if he said yes in like twelve hours because it is a massive podcast, and not only do I watch it and like what he does, I thought it'd be really great for our audience because I think I'd probably interview him in a way that he probably doesn't get interviewed a whole lot. So pretty pumped about it. We can't find the perfect day and Morgan's like what about this day? And like cool, at this time, it's a schedule conflict. We moved all this and so I was telling my wife. I was like, yeah, I'm taking notes on the Sean Ryan stuff and get I get her like educated on who Sean Ryan is. And we're finishing up our episode of lots to say, our NFL show and that's Matt Castle, the former quarterback in myself and Morgan's filling it because Brand is not here this week. Like running cameras and as we're about to walk out, Morgan's has hey, uh, when you need to talk, You're not gonna like this, and everything's a game to me. So I said, let me guess. 00:09:10 Speaker 3: And you guessed worst things yelling. 00:09:13 Speaker 1: Our new guy quit. Okay. Yeah, I was like, dyaling quit already and she was like no, And I said, okay, somebody die. She said no. I said, okay, I'm just gonna get this again darker. So why don't you tell me? And she said that they had booked Sean Ryan for the show, but they had booked the wrong Shaw Sean Ryan. It was like a random musician in town that they found. I don't know how they found him. 00:09:40 Speaker 3: Instagram, no idea, no idea and the what gave it away to us. Mike actually texted me while we were recording Wants to Stay? 00:09:49 Speaker 1: Is that when you found out too? 00:09:50 Speaker 3: That's when I found out, because oh, you had just found out. 00:09:52 Speaker 1: You weren't waiting for the perfect moment. 00:09:53 Speaker 3: You had just I had just found out, and my heart sank in the middle of recording that podcast, and Mike just hit me on text and was like, hey, the spelling of Sean looks wrong, and this email they've looped us in with looks like some sort of music email. 00:10:08 Speaker 2: And I was yeah, because I saw the spelling of it, and I was like, maybe they just spelled it wrong initially because you just say the name, you don't know how it's written. And his name is written a Shawn and in the email it said it in the wrong way. I'm like, no way, the actual Sean Ryan is misspelling his real email. I was like, this has to be the wrong guy. 00:10:26 Speaker 1: Oh no, man, how bad did it suck when you realized he had to tell me that. 00:10:31 Speaker 3: I was, It's a pretty bad I only ever want to give you good news. 00:10:36 Speaker 1: I wasn't angry. I was disappointed, but I don't think it was. It also wasn't your face. It wasn't your fault, and I never was like, this is your fault. I was just like, Oh, that sucks. 00:10:49 Speaker 3: But I felt it was my fault because I'm like, I should have caught the misspelling of the name, and I didn't. 00:10:55 Speaker 1: So the people that reached out, did we spell it wrong and send it to them wrong? Yeah? 00:11:03 Speaker 3: I forwarded your email. You had Shawn's name and a couple others, and I forwarded it on and said these people are based in Nashville. Would love to get these folks on. 00:11:12 Speaker 1: So it could be my fault them. 00:11:13 Speaker 3: But I don't want to blame you because I have a set of eyes. I know you're typo kind of guy alive. Yeah, and I didn't spell check and that is my fault, not yours. 00:11:24 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:11:25 Speaker 3: So but still, if you get that email, are you not thinking? 00:11:29 Speaker 1: I completely understand. 00:11:32 Speaker 3: It's one of those things. Man, it's my fault. 00:11:35 Speaker 1: So I was pretty jacked about it, and they go, well, let's just cancel. Well then I start to feel guilty because here's this guy, Sean Ryan, not the famous one, that's the former Navy seal who can probably take a little rejection because his whole life has been probably fighting adversity. But this musician who I'm not even sure which one it. There's like four sewn Ryan. I don't even know which one it is. Like, you guys can show me a picture of them? Who how many followers on Instagram do you have? 00:11:58 Speaker 2: Yes? Twenty four point eight thousand, twenty four point eight thousand, Yeah. 00:12:03 Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, that's great. This guy gets an email or a DM going, hey, do you want to come and talk to Bob Blones because we usually play some of this on the Barbone Show. Yeah, we do this podcast. This podcast has a really big following. And I was just thinking about him because I had said to Morgan, yeah, we should probably cancel that. But then I just started feeling guilty. I was like, this dude in my mind, got an email going this is this is coolest? Keep him a break. I'm not even sure what he does. Is he a singer songwriter? Is he just a musician? 00:12:35 Speaker 2: Do we make a singer songwriter? 00:12:38 Speaker 1: Yeah? 00:12:38 Speaker 3: Okay, I mean do you want to see his Instagram? 00:12:41 Speaker 1: Yeah? Let me see what it looks like. So I went up to the house. Oh okay, it kind of looks like it looks like the the wrestler them his dad. Was it like a loocha door? 00:13:04 Speaker 2: Oh Mysterio son? 00:13:08 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Mysterio Jr. I don't know if it's Ray Mysterio Jr. Or if it's whoever that is dom right, Yeah, Morgan's supposed boy, that's it. He kind of looks like him. Yeah. So I started to feel bad and we're gonna have him up. 00:13:24 Speaker 2: Could you imagine if we never caught it and he showed up day of recording and we're. 00:13:29 Speaker 1: Like, what is happening right now? Because that's what that would have been. In my mind. I would have been so confused. 00:13:33 Speaker 3: We would have caught it because he sent over some talking points, say. 00:13:37 Speaker 2: That we have talking point yeah, all right, saying that stuff never got sent and he just showed up Dale. What would you have done if a different Sean Ryan walked in. 00:13:46 Speaker 1: I would have just rolled. It would have been hilarious because you guys would have known that I knew, and I knew that you guys know. But I wouldn't have wanted him to feel weird. And I think I would have just been very generic and vague with questions because I feel like I can interview anybody. If you give me like five questions, I can find a place that we're gonna be able to talk about something and we have in common. It would have been weird, I would but or I thought, man, the Internet makes people look way different because this guy black hair, and then he has a bald head. So I said to Morgan, I said, hey, I don't want this guy to feel like we were messing with them. I feel bad that we had asked him to come up and he had scheduled it. So he's going to be on an episode soon. I don't know how good he is. I've not heard anything he's done, but I said, he has to know the backstory and if he has a sense of humor about it, I want him to come up because that would just suck. If somebody was like, hey, we want to have you up and I was like, oh, this is my big break and like, oh we we meant to book Robert Bones, I'll be like, oh, god sucks. 00:14:48 Speaker 2: We were trying for Bobby Jones, Yeah, the all golfer. 00:14:50 Speaker 1: We thought you were like his grandson. So yeah, So in one of the episodes coming up, and I don't know how long we're gonna do with him, but we're going to have Sean Ryan, the one that's not the Navy Seal. So that happened yesterday. We're still going to try to get Sean Ryan the Navy Seal. I think it's going to be a little more difficult than this was. Because we got a yes quickly on this one. It was like yep, for sure. I was like, dang, that's quick. Like he must I thought to myself, he must be a fan of the radio show, or like I've heard about it. Little did I know he probably hasn't at all. So, yeah, that's happened there. I do have some Q and A stuff that I want to go through in a second. 00:15:27 Speaker 4: Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor, and we're back on the Bobby Cast. 00:15:41 Speaker 1: I was reading the story about Cash Mattel, who is the director of the FBI, and this kind of comes back into Nashville a little bit. And so the story from him is he has been either using or abusing his private FBI airplane to fly Toshville to see his girlfriend, who is a country singer. And the first time that this story hit it was to come and watch her, as she's saying at a wrestling event, Are you guys familiar with the story? Yeah, And so instead of debating whether it is a misuse of the airplane, because if you're director of the FBI, you cannot fly commercial anyway. So I don't have an opinion because I don't know enough about what they're allowed to use the plane for and what they're not allowed to use the plane for, because he's been going on golf trips. He's been going. But if you can't use public, if you can't fly commercial. What are you supposed to do? Not really the topic here, but it's imagine you start to date somebody and their last boyfriend was the director. 00:16:40 Speaker 5: Of the FBI. 00:16:42 Speaker 3: Hard to follow. 00:16:44 Speaker 1: Not only hard to follow because he might be I don't know about cash Pel because I don't know him. Let's assume cash Hotail's, for the sake of this story, a huge goober and a loser. Maybe it's not hard to follow, but I would just be worried that if he still wanted to be with her. You're talking about hacking and like making my life miserable. I wouldn't want to date anybody that had just dated the head of the FBI because of the access that they have to all of my stuff. 00:17:11 Speaker 2: You just planned things on your laptop. 00:17:12 Speaker 1: Absolutely shut you down. 00:17:14 Speaker 3: Are you fired from your job? 00:17:16 Speaker 1: Anything? Find out? Have you audited? Just called her buddy at the IRS like I think, and I don't know her, and they kept calling her country SUPERSTAR'M not sure how many streams she has on anything. I had never heard of her, but that doesn't mean she's not a superstar. 00:17:35 Speaker 3: But I don't know that she is. 00:17:37 Speaker 1: I think how hard it would be to or how much. It would suck to have to follow someone that dated the director of the FBI, because if he was still in love with her, you know, he's going to ruin the life of the person that's dating his ax that he still wants to be with. 00:17:50 Speaker 2: Her highest stream song has about half a million streams? 00:17:54 Speaker 1: Not bad. 00:17:55 Speaker 2: What's her name, Alexis Wilkins. 00:17:59 Speaker 1: Real streams? Bought streams? How about the rest of our songs? That's the most next one is like three sixty eight. 00:18:04 Speaker 3: Okay, what's her monthly listening? 00:18:06 Speaker 1: That's Belieble. 00:18:07 Speaker 2: Her monthly listeners is fourteen thousand. 00:18:11 Speaker 1: That checks out right sort of. Yeah. 00:18:13 Speaker 3: I mean, if I'm not going to say anything. 00:18:15 Speaker 1: Bad, but you're starting after us. How do you even buy bots? Because one of the things that artists do now that I read about is they buy bots to lift their streams, and labels buy bots and then it comes out a lot of times the pop stars. But I'm sure it's happening in the country music space too. Does they may know where you can buy bots? 00:18:37 Speaker 2: I don't know specifically, but you essentially have to find like a clickfarm. 00:18:40 Speaker 1: Yeah, but where do we find? Where do I find that? 00:18:42 Speaker 3: Are you trying to find one. 00:18:44 Speaker 1: I would be super interested to do that. Like a long time ago. I mean it's been fifteen years at this point. When Twitter first started, I would buy my friends a bunch of followers on Twitter because and this is when nobody had any followers, because I'd pay fifty bucks and all these people start following them. But I wouldn't tell them, and they'd wake up and the would just have like five thousand followers. They'd be like, what just happened? Why am I being followed? And I thought it was the funniest thing, like overnight, they thought they had gone viral? 00:19:12 Speaker 3: Wait, did you do that for either of us? 00:19:14 Speaker 1: No, this is way before. Okay, this is living in Texas for a day. Yeah. So, and now they clean boughts so much off. Also, Twitter sucks now, But how do you buy bots? 00:19:26 Speaker 3: I've never had to do it, so I'm not really sure. I have heard, which I'm scared to say this out loud, but I did overhear a label person once talking. 00:19:37 Speaker 1: About it about lifting streams. M hmmm. It does. 00:19:42 Speaker 3: It does happen, especially with those newer artists they're trying to launch. I'm not a pro in the field. 00:19:48 Speaker 1: But you don't know how to buy bots. 00:19:50 Speaker 3: No, I can look into it for you'll, I'll tell you by closing. 00:19:52 Speaker 1: Business so interesting. I'm sure it costs way too much to actually do it, as like you made a song farting the national anthem and then you bought did it up to go number one? Like that would be a funny joke, but I'm sure that would cost one hundred thousand dollars more than that. 00:20:05 Speaker 3: Yeah, i'd be very expensive, and for. 00:20:06 Speaker 1: It to go number one. I have a bunch of questions here, I said, we were doing a Q and A, and so I think a lot of these that I picked are questions that I think it's fun for everybody to answer. Let's go with what's the one thing you wish you were better at in your personal life right now? 00:20:24 Speaker 2: Mike talking to people? Like I am terrible at making just conversation with somebody. 00:20:30 Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not terrible. 00:20:31 Speaker 2: Oh, I am like with you guys, I'm comfortable with But even then sometimes I'm like, I don't know, I really know what to say right now? I am so comfortable in silence like that That's what I thrive in, Like going into a room just like I don't want to say anything. 00:20:42 Speaker 1: I was at foot therapy today and so I go before and I still wearing a boot for my surgery. I suck at small talk, like I just haven't trained myself enough for it to just be passable without it being awkward. And so I have a main therapist that come starts doing stuff with me, and then after that it's like when youut your haircut, somebody new comes along and start washing her hair. But it's like that, but in therapy. And so this other therapist comes along. She's like, how's Thanksgiving? And I think the proper thing to say, now that I'm removed from it, is it was great, Thanks for asking how's yours? And I said, I'm dairy free. It sucks couldn't eat anything. Well, I've heard. 00:21:21 Speaker 3: You mentioned being dairy free so many times. 00:21:24 Speaker 1: But that was what came to my mind when she said how was Thanksgiving? And so I said that and she's like oh, And then I didn't ask her anything back. 00:21:31 Speaker 3: Oh no. 00:21:32 Speaker 1: So it's just like We're sitting there and it's awkward. And I realized I'm not good at small talk. And this was only a moment for small talk. This wasn't actually a time to get to know somebody because she's going to be in my life for about seven minutes max. And she's like, oh yeah, yeah, And so she's struggling now. She like, did you have a favorite dish? And I said, well, we had turkey, and then I had some some dressing and then there's some pumpkin pie. Of it was dairy free pump goodbye. So that sucked. She's like, oh boys, And there was no question back. And again that really wasn't meant for us to. I just should have said it was a great thanks for asking, how's yours. And on a different level, Arkansas, I was hired a new football coach and by the time this comes out, he may have been on one of the sports shows. I'm not sure, but I don't know him at all. And so I do have a friend that knows him pretty well. I have two friends I know him pretty well. But one of them puts me on a group text with my friend, the new Arkansas football coach and me, and so he texts it all and he says Ryan because that's the coach's name. He says, Ryan, it's my friend Bobby, like biggest Razorbake fan. I know, Booster, you should probably know him because he's a great guy and I and the coach Ryan Silerfield replies back, Hey, it's awesome, like just started the job, got a lot going on, overwhelmed, but loved to meet you. You know some something. I never replied to that for like two days. I he didn't ask me a question, and then my friend hit me up and goes, you never replied to that, like I've put you on the text and you never I said, Well, there wasn't a question asked. And also what am I supposed to say? Hey, thanks, good luck? 00:23:21 Speaker 3: You got to give it the thumbs up or something. 00:23:23 Speaker 1: That's what he said he said. 00:23:24 Speaker 3: At least I just acknowledge that. 00:23:26 Speaker 1: He literally said that exact thing. And Mike, so I feel you. Whenever you said that he said, maybe just a thumbs. 00:23:40 Speaker 2: Up, That thumbs up has changed my life. 00:23:44 Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't. I didn't thumbs it up. Though. 00:23:47 Speaker 2: My problem is I just absorb information and if, like you said, if there's not a question like, that's it. That's the end for me. I'm like, I heard what you said. I take it in. I have nothing to say. 00:23:56 Speaker 1: My wife gets really annoyed with me because she will say something and not ask a question, but expect an answer to a statement. Statements aren't meant for me to answer. If I have something to add to it, I do. But she's like, you have a reply to that. I didn't ask a question. I'm thumb up, like, you're not a robot, Like I heard what you I heard what you said. 00:24:17 Speaker 3: You interview for a living. You can keep a conversation alive. 00:24:20 Speaker 1: But I don't feel like I was supposed to keep a conversation alive. It's not my job to be the life preserver of every like real life conversation. I'm bad at small talk too, so I understand. But I had two instances in the last two days where I realized that it is not my strength. Now, if you put me on a text thread and you're like, hey, this is Sean Ryan, you need to convince them to come on the show, I'm be freaking hilarious. I'm beyond I'm a reply. I'm gonna do like just a right amount of gifts, you know, maybe a couple of emojis in the right places, like I'm going to be extremely charismatic in the text. But if it's like real life, I do not have sharpened small talk skills where somebody like Eddie is that's what he lives for. He doesn't want to go deep with anybody. He'd rather just have small talk. Just weather, weather, in traffic. That's all he cares to talk about. Like he's good, Morgan, what do you wish you were better at? 00:25:15 Speaker 3: I wish I was better at caring to date? Is that too deep? 00:25:20 Speaker 1: But I wish I was better caring to date. 00:25:22 Speaker 3: Caring to date like I've been a real homebody lately, which I feel like is relatable to some of what Mike was saying of just you know, I'm good. I'm like, dang, I probably should get out there in date, but I don't feel like it. Can you imagine right now in your lives if you had to go on a dating app? 00:25:41 Speaker 2: I die alone at this point, I got very lucky. I found my wife, Like, I can't imagine going back to that. I was terrible at dating, Like I said, I can't talk to people. I went on so many first dates, never a second date till I met my wife. 00:25:52 Speaker 1: I was an assassin on a dating app though, or just tech? What's that game? Well, once you get to a point, the human part is what I would kind of suck at unless it was a performance. But it doesn't matter if it's dating app or talking with somebody that's in a non romantic like on a phone or on a computer, like in a text. Like again, I'm knocking them down. I'm freaking hilarious because it's all strategy and execution. But yeah, do you worry? Hell? 00:26:20 Speaker 3: Are you thirty three? 00:26:22 Speaker 1: Do you care about that? 00:26:24 Speaker 3: I feel like I'm starting to because the people around me I'm noticing, are bringing it up more. So I'm thinking more about it. 00:26:32 Speaker 1: I just saw that Cana Miller had her third kid or she got pregnant forty three again. Wow, not only that, there's there's been a couple of like forty years, like celebrities. 00:26:41 Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm at that point where I see Kelly Kelly, Oh yeah. 00:26:45 Speaker 1: I think they were told they couldn't have another kid and it just happened she got pregnant. 00:26:50 Speaker 3: I'm thinking about freezing some egs, but that sounds like a lot of work, and I know some people who have done it and they get really emotionally haywire, and I really don't want to do that. 00:27:01 Speaker 1: You know why they get emotionally haywire. 00:27:02 Speaker 3: Because all those hormones are all the hormones. Yeah, yeah, exactly. I'm not really interested in that. So I'm kind of at a point where I'm like, if that happens, it happens. If it doesn't, I have two nephews that are biologically half me. 00:27:14 Speaker 1: So, but you've had dudes you dated? 00:27:17 Speaker 3: Mm hmmm. I had a college ex boyfriend circle the block and asked me on a date recently. 00:27:24 Speaker 1: Define circle the block. 00:27:25 Speaker 3: Dm me on Instagram responded to a picture and said we should go on a date. 00:27:30 Speaker 1: I thought he drove by your house. 00:27:32 Speaker 3: He circled the metaphorical digital block. 00:27:36 Speaker 1: Does he live in your hometown he lives. 00:27:39 Speaker 3: No, he we met in West Tennessee at college, but he lives in Nashville, like half a block from where my office is. 00:27:48 Speaker 1: Do you have any interest or you're not? Are you not interested because you're just not interested in dating? Or are you not interested because you're not interested in him? 00:27:58 Speaker 3: I I told him, and I was like, I'd be down until I get together and catch up on you know, how you're doing. But I don't want it to be romantic. I don't think I'm in. 00:28:06 Speaker 1: Said that I don't want to. 00:28:07 Speaker 3: I didn't say I don't want it to be romantic, but I was like, I'm basically a none at this point. I made some sort of joke about it, like, I'm basically a none at this point, but we can get together and you know, catch up on the old days. 00:28:17 Speaker 1: If I'm him, I still take that opportunity. 00:28:19 Speaker 3: Because I was really trying to walk that line of being like this wouldn't be a date, but not being bratty about it. 00:28:26 Speaker 1: It's still a small door open, though. If I'm him, I'm going great, I'm down, because then it's just a crack. All you need is a crack. 00:28:35 Speaker 3: All you need is a crack. But I'm a bumper sticker. 00:28:38 Speaker 1: I think it's fine, so that may happen. We'll see when you try to date. 00:28:44 Speaker 3: I really don't. That's the problem. I haven't tried to date. 00:28:48 Speaker 1: You were dating? 00:28:50 Speaker 3: Yeah, I dated a guy for six months in. 00:28:52 Speaker 1: Texas, which when they live far it is probably easier and harder, easier because you don't have the obligation to be together a whole lot. 00:29:00 Speaker 3: What's bad is I liked the distance. I liked that I could like plug into my life and then go out there and yeah, it's a me problem. I'm working. 00:29:08 Speaker 1: We need is another COVID to come along? 00:29:11 Speaker 3: Yeah, I need the whole world to shut down again. 00:29:13 Speaker 1: I mean whenever Caitlyn and I were dating, because she was living in California and it was back and forth every other weekend, she would come here and COVID hit and she was like, hey, I'm just gonna or I was like, hey, come here just for a couple of weeks, this thing will be over. And it lickety split, and two weeks turned into two months or so because California they shut down before we did, right, Like California was a ghost town, and. 00:29:39 Speaker 3: So she kind of caught the last flight out. 00:29:41 Speaker 1: Yeah, she left and they came here, and then it turned into a couple of few months and then from that because I had never lived with anybody. I mean I had, like Mike lived with me for a little bit, but I but I didn't. I never had like any sort of real roommate situation, never romantically ever, like not even close there. But that put us in that situation where it kind of accelerated the relationship because we had just been going back and forth for a long time. We would have just kept doing that. 00:30:11 Speaker 3: I don't think so I think you say that. 00:30:14 Speaker 1: No, I'm saying it wouldn't have happened like it did, because it happened where we had been dating for months, three or four months or so, and she came and stayed for a couple of weeks, but then she never left. She probably would have moved here in a year, in a year and a half, whatever it was. I don't think it would have happened like it was then, where it was like, hey, come for two weeks and then she ends up staying. But then it got to the point where it was her lease was up on her apartment, and then I was like, well, we got to make a decision, and she was like I can go back or not, and I was like, no, don't go back. I think it was the timeline was just accelerated because of COVID. So what you need to do is have a guy you're dating, have COVID Hitka Part two accelerated, and then there. 00:30:52 Speaker 3: You go, we gotta find some bats or something. 00:30:54 Speaker 1: It would have also been I would have also known quicker that it wasn't her as my which as I did that it was her because we just forced together. 00:31:03 Speaker 3: I've never lived with the guy before. 00:31:05 Speaker 1: Oh, I never lived with a girl. 00:31:07 Speaker 3: Until you say it would have taken a year. You were so locked in on her. 00:31:12 Speaker 1: I agree. 00:31:12 Speaker 3: I think everyone around you I was like, oh, this is this is it. 00:31:16 Speaker 1: I agree with everything you're saying. I'm just saying the moving part because she had a really great job. She was she had gone back to school to get her master's, she was finishing up her there. There were just all these things that would have kept us from doing that, that were a part of normal life that we're blocking it at the time. But because of COVID, her job got very easy to do from a remote location because it had to be done. And secondly, she went because she went back to grad school to get her masters while she had this job, and they shut down school, but they just did it remotely like everybody else, So that allowed it to be easier for her to stay here. 00:31:59 Speaker 5: The Bobby Cat We'll be right back. This is the Bobby cast. 00:32:13 Speaker 2: You remember the moment where reality kind of set in because the same thing kind of happened with my wife and I. We were long distance. COVID shut everything down and she moved here, and for the first month it was like awesome, like. 00:32:22 Speaker 1: You're finally living here. 00:32:23 Speaker 2: Everything's great. And there was like a moment where I remember we had like an argument over the dishwasher where it went from like, oh, we're not playing house anymore, this is like real life. Did you have that moment? 00:32:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, because she was like, you you played video games a lot, Like, oh my god, I work all day because that was my reintroduction to PlayStation because I hadn't played in ten years, and so I ordered PS five and it's when our little football league with all my friends we started playing together. And I would work all day and then I would play PlayStation for like three hours or so. And she was like, you got it. I get off the video game a little bit, and I was like you, like, I just did. I never had that consideration of I need to think about somebody else all the time. So for me, I think that's when the reality of it set in where I have to actually be aware that there's somebody else in the house that I need to be thoughtful about. 00:33:18 Speaker 3: Quality time is major. 00:33:20 Speaker 1: It's for sure. Mine's gifts. Here's his gifts. 00:33:25 Speaker 3: I've never met one person who's loved language top level language as gifts. 00:33:29 Speaker 1: Giving and receiving gifts. 00:33:32 Speaker 3: You give great gifts. 00:33:34 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm much easier now that. 00:33:35 Speaker 3: It's hard to get gifts for you though, Well. 00:33:37 Speaker 1: Again, because I have money, I think it was easier when I was poor. Yeah, you could get me one of those little basketball hoop keep on top of the door. Not good, good for like five hours. But you know, I because and it's not always just a money thing, but it's single And when I had an okay amount of money, I would just buy whatever I wanted. If I wanted someone, I'll just get it. Because I didn't have kids, didn't have a girlfriend, didn't have a wife, did't have anything like that. So if some thing interest me, I just got it. 00:34:02 Speaker 3: And do you also feel bad now having money, like expecting when people are like, what do you want for Christmas? Are you kind of like don't worry about me? Are you still like I. 00:34:10 Speaker 1: Think I hold some people to unfair standards, okay, to still like make me feel warm? And for those people, Caitlin, Yeah, And she's told me before, She's like, I can't and I can't live up to like whatever standards you have, it's really hard for me to meet them. And I'm like, I'm not telling you what to get me, And she's like, but give me an idea, and I'm like, no, because you have to drop hend. No, that's that's the thing we got into, and not in a bad way. But we talked about it for like three months because she would go, I know that your love language is gifts and that means a lot too, and I think it's rooted. And I didn't get a bunch of gifts growing up, Like we didn't really have good Christmases. Why, I don't think any of us three did. And so we're like to triangle a poor here, and it's likely that's our superhero group. 00:34:58 Speaker 3: Uh. 00:34:59 Speaker 1: And so I didn't get a lot of gifts growing up, and when I did, it blew my mind. And I was so grateful because it wasn't that nobody wanted to get me anything, but like in our small circle, people were in and out, and also we'd have any money, so there weren't a lot of gifts to go around, and so when people get me something now, I'm like, oh, this is awesome, like something to mean something. And I would just put this high expectation on my wife, who's supposed to know me better than anybody, to get me something that blows me away, but. 00:35:24 Speaker 3: You're very hard to blow away. You stay very even keeled on all things. 00:35:30 Speaker 1: But you're not my wife. I expect her would be very hard and it was unfair. And I understand your point, because she would go, hey, there's a few things I would like. I'll send you some links. She would send me links to things that she would like for Christmas, and where she would she would send me like a link to like eleven different things. She's like, here's some gift ideas. You want to get a couple of these. That'd be awesome. I'd go buy all eleven of them. 00:35:58 Speaker 3: Damn. 00:35:59 Speaker 1: I would just like, Okay, Well, if she wants, I'm gonna get it all clear the list? Yes it was teachers. Yeah, uh so I get her all the gifts. Where I got myself in trouble doing that though, is I would get her all the gifts. But her birthday is like two weeks after Christmas. Oh yes, so then I get her all eleven gifts. I'm like, well, now what the craft I do for a birthday? 00:36:18 Speaker 3: Mike's wife is the same exact way. 00:36:21 Speaker 2: I just like kind of get a bunch of things and then split them up. 00:36:23 Speaker 1: Even the smart person it took me a couple of Christmas. 00:36:25 Speaker 2: It's a good thing I found, like right now, since it is around the holidays, like there's so many holiday deals, I'm like, I get kind of a better deal. 00:36:31 Speaker 1: Well, Valentine's Days right after that, and not even that Valentine's Day is like super important what you've been uh together or married for a long time. But there's still some importance to acknowledging that. And so and I that's my love language. I like to get and give gifts. So it's really murderers row for me, Birthday, Christmas, Valentine'sday, all right there, bam, bam bam. 00:36:52 Speaker 3: Is it like an experience? Is the thing you look for? Something tangible and physical? 00:36:57 Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, yeah, like it'll treat street. And so what she would say is point me a direction, and I would go, I shouldn't. 00:37:04 Speaker 3: Have to, you should know me enough. 00:37:07 Speaker 1: That's exactly what it was. It was totally unfair, And I realize now that I don't like that that I put her in that position. 00:37:15 Speaker 3: It's a little self sabotage. Oh yeah, very much so, because she can't read your mind and she does know you, but I've known you for over ten years and when your birthday comes up. 00:37:27 Speaker 1: I go, well, yeah, Bobby, So I put her in a place not to succeed. And we had the conversation a few times over a few birthdays, because I would just be have my guts ripped out if I didn't get exactly what. A couple of times she did. She nailed it. She got me an Andy Kaufman note he wrote to himself, Andy Kaufman is like a comedian performance artist from the eighties, late seventies, eighties that died and I think he's yea super funny but transcendent in that world. Or did he die? Or did he die? Is right? Not Diddy but not the rapper in prison? Is he did? But yeah, yeah, yeah, so she got So she's done really great. But I've had to at least point her in a direction because it. 00:38:11 Speaker 3: Was unfair not to Yeah, give her a bone? 00:38:16 Speaker 1: Pun. Okay, so did you you answered yours? Not dating? I think what was the question again? We've gone around the room. What do you wish you're better at? That's it. I think now I'll do a short term. I've been in this boot for now a month and a half, taking showers, bad. 00:38:37 Speaker 3: High tiene over there, huh. How often are you in the day. 00:38:40 Speaker 1: My wife's like, your armpits and not like crap, And I'm like, I can't get him a footwet. She's like, you can, but you gotta put the bag on it. I get to take this thing off, hopefully in like three weeks. I've not been good at I don't smell. I don't I don't want I smell myself. I smell fine. 00:38:54 Speaker 3: Yeah, but I think an outsider should be giving you that insight. 00:38:58 Speaker 1: Yeah, they do. 00:38:58 Speaker 3: How often are you showering right now? 00:39:00 Speaker 1: Now? Every day? But for a while I I was not getting out of bed. Why do I have to shower if I don't get out of bed because I was just laying there all day? And I understand the answer to that as well. 00:39:10 Speaker 2: And then in the cold, it's like, why don't working out? 00:39:13 Speaker 1: I haven't worked out in freaking five. 00:39:15 Speaker 3: Weeks, but your hair gets greasy and your pits gets no. 00:39:18 Speaker 1: No, I understand the actual answer to it. 00:39:20 Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I just want to what's. 00:39:22 Speaker 1: The step after the boot? Just the step after the boot is a brace, a laced up brace that I have to wear for like two or three weeks. And then I get to start walking on a treadmill and then I'll do you know, cuts and pivots and jogs. But I've really been focused on my therapy, like going and but doing it every day, three times a day, and so I think I'm actually ahead of schedule. I hope I'm a had a schedule. What's a purchase you regret, Mike? I get stuff. 00:39:53 Speaker 2: There was this thing on TikTok that I thought was the coolest thing ever that it would reseal bags for you, and as the only thing I've been tricked on TikTok where you would like open a bag of chips and you want to seal it so it stays. 00:40:04 Speaker 1: Fresh, I bought it. Never worked, really, Yeah, TikTok shock kind of is awesome. Man sucks. I do a lot of cool stuff, but it's never good, Like it's never quality. 00:40:14 Speaker 2: I assume it's never good at work because they make it look awesome, like, oh, that's going to change my life, and then I just don't think you can live up to expectations. 00:40:20 Speaker 3: I've done some pretty great stuff off of TikTok shop, like what hair extensions, curling wands. 00:40:26 Speaker 1: Mike and I are trying to buy, like technology stuff, though, I do want a flamethrower. Oh those are awesome, the ones they sell on TikTok. 00:40:33 Speaker 3: Yeah, Kaitlin, are you hearing this? 00:40:36 Speaker 1: Yeah, Morgan? 00:40:38 Speaker 3: What was the question? Something I bought that I regret. I'm the new apartment I'm running. 00:40:44 Speaker 1: You regret it? 00:40:45 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:40:46 Speaker 1: So far away. 00:40:46 Speaker 3: It's so far away, and I thought it would be fine, but it's really a headache. It's nice to live closer to family, but man, that drive in and home sucks. 00:40:59 Speaker 1: After we finished it to be five o'clock, I. 00:41:01 Speaker 3: Know, and I'm getting dinner with my dad, so he's probably gonna be texting me being like, where are you at? 00:41:06 Speaker 1: He'll be there at eight down there. He lives down there too. 00:41:10 Speaker 3: We're five minutes store to door. That's a good part about it. 00:41:13 Speaker 2: I bought one of those Apple Oh the Vision. 00:41:17 Speaker 1: I spent thousands of dollars on the thing, and you I usually like seven times I thought that was the future. Man, I think it's still the future. I think this. 00:41:27 Speaker 2: Version is virtual reality in the future. 00:41:30 Speaker 1: It's too cumbersome. I don't know that. I think a version what is virtual reality that's also within real augmented reality? Yeah, I think augmented reality to the future, meaning we're sitting here now, I can still see all you guys. Everybody's normal. There are elements that can be added, like in my glasses. Like in my glasses, I wanted to see the time, or there was a game on that I can see like in this room, but you guys don't see it. I think I think augmented reality is the future. 00:41:57 Speaker 2: Because I think the new meadow ones where it's like you can see somebody, you're talking to them, but then all these messages are popping up and I just can't see that working and catching on. 00:42:07 Speaker 1: Like it's too fancy. 00:42:08 Speaker 3: I'm so old school. We need to like teck it down a little bit and get back to like good old fashioned face to face. 00:42:15 Speaker 1: That's the next question. Do you think social media is making people happier or more anxious? Oh? 00:42:19 Speaker 3: Definitely more anxious, terribly anxious. 00:42:22 Speaker 1: Yeah, I can agree with that, but I think both. It makes me happier and it makes me more anxious. 00:42:27 Speaker 3: How does it make you happier? 00:42:30 Speaker 1: I have friends that I only really know on social media. 00:42:33 Speaker 3: And that brings you joy. 00:42:34 Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I have friends and I've met some of them, but whenever we went to Chicago. We went to barstool. I didn't know Brandon Walker. We DM and text and football game. Like I feel like I know that dude, I met him one time, but we did hugged you on the way out. Yeah that was a disaster. I thought that was real. But like I have those type of friends that have turned into a bit of human relationship. Okay, solid, that's good, but I am. I'm four days sober from social media, no from looking at any apt replies or comments of anything. It makes me so much happier. I don't go like on Twitter, I don't go to my at that replies at all. You just posted my post and let it leave the bo and I post on Instagram, I don't look into the comments. I go to YouTube, I'll check out some analytics. I never I don't even look out a comment as singer. YouTube is the worst. Facebook. 00:43:35 Speaker 3: Facebook is brutal. 00:43:36 Speaker 1: I haven't been on Facebook in a while, like the Bobby Bone Show Facebook page, and I might be wrong because I guess I haven't really been Like this YouTube for at Bobby Bone' channel doesn't have enough that people. It's so toxic. But are you talking about it's like general YouTube. 00:43:53 Speaker 2: I feel like general YouTube users are the most brutal because they'll go after your physical attributes to most out of any other social media platform. Like the only time I really felt bad about myself was reading YouTube comments. 00:44:03 Speaker 3: Oh I'll go beat them up for you, Mike. That's so nice. 00:44:07 Speaker 1: I haven't looked at a single comment or at reply, and who knows who's trying to get in touch with me. And I feel like, if you message me on Twitter, if you're not in the DMS, I'm not going to see it. But it's felt great because I don't go over because I get triggered pretty easily, and then I'll just fight with people. 00:44:21 Speaker 3: You I'll get anytime I get on Twitter, which is rare or ex whatever we're calling it, I don't call it X. I see your reply to someone, I'm like, oh god. 00:44:29 Speaker 2: Look at any account going after this. Oh that's actually it. 00:44:33 Speaker 3: Don't engage. 00:44:34 Speaker 1: I'll get triggered by something, and especially on Twitter, like I don't care. I don't fight people on Instagram. I don't fight people on TikTok like I don't care. But Twitter, that's right, that's right for one on one. But I'm four days sober where I haven't looked at a single comment to anything, and it makes me so much happier because it's always net loss. 00:44:54 Speaker 3: Do you have a number of days you're trying to get to? 00:44:56 Speaker 1: No, but I was thinking, like only on Tuesdays we'll ever look at anything something. 00:45:00 Speaker 3: Like that that she will treat on Tuesdays as a little. 00:45:03 Speaker 1: Well it said, I can't. I don't want to just stay completely disconnected. 00:45:06 Speaker 3: M M. 00:45:09 Speaker 1: But if I just give myself like a Tuesday, that'd be fighting day. So that would be probably what it's going to be. But yeah, no, it's it's tough because I get in the habit too on Twitter. I'm on Twitter the most. I also hate it the most, so it's a lot of hate scrolling. I like it because it gives me the things that I want in the for you page, because it's sports, politics, it's music stuff. And then all of a sudden, it'll it'll put something in that it knows is going to fire me up, and I'll reply to it and they'll come back at me, and here we go. Because that's how they're making their money. Engagement, and how do you get the most engagement is enragement in arrangements engagement. So they want you being upset and fighting with people more than anything else. That's what they want. 00:45:55 Speaker 3: We're doing it. 00:45:56 Speaker 4: Let's take a quick pause for a message from our sponsor, Wow, and we're back on the Bobby Cast. 00:46:11 Speaker 1: Next up, what's the best concert you've ever seen? Mike. 00:46:20 Speaker 2: I'd say the best concert I ever seen was a couple of years ago. I got to see Blanklin eighty two for the first time. And I've been a fan since I was probably in like third or fourth grade. And they've changed a lot over the years, have switched out original members, and this was them coming back with the original lineup, and it was the only time I ever got emotional at a concert, Like they played one of my favorite songs, Adams song, and like I just felt like this overwhelming amount of joy and I just kind of started crying a little bit because I was like, Wow, Like, never in my life that I ever think I would see them live, because as a kid, couldn't afford it, Like going to a concert just never entered my brain. Like I would see bands touring, I'm like, there's no way I would ever go see my favorite band in concert. And here I was finally in like in my thirties getting to see my favorite band of all time, and it was an amazing show. 00:47:04 Speaker 1: So that was more about the experience than it was them being sonically amazing. 00:47:12 Speaker 2: They're not historically a great live band, Like if you like Blanklin eighty two, you like the humor of it, you like the recordings of it, but them live, it's not like you're going to watch some really great musicians. But it's a fun environment. They're funny on stage, and it's just overall it's a fun show. 00:47:27 Speaker 1: Be'st concert, Morgan. 00:47:29 Speaker 3: I have two that are coming to mind. The first one is kind of in line with You. Mike is like one of my first big shows. I went to Memphis in May. Is big and West. 00:47:38 Speaker 1: Good of Memphis main Market. We drive over from Arkansas. 00:47:41 Speaker 3: Florence in the Machine. I saw her set and I was like, oh my gosh, this is I mean, her vocal and she's like a little faery up on stage, hard to top. And then Tyler Childers at the Raymen would be my backup. 00:47:57 Speaker 1: I think mine's probably and Man festivals are kind of cop outs. But John Mayer at acl in Austin, I was still living there and I don't like festival. I don't like all the people, but I think that's probably the best concert I've ever been to. I'm a massive John Mayer fan, so that's probably why I think we've all you loved Tyler Childers Florence on the Machine probably weren't a huge fan of but then we're blown away. 00:48:21 Speaker 3: Became a fan. 00:48:22 Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I'm gonna go John Mayer at acl way back in the day. Something I've been thinking about something that triggers me. If we ask someone to be a guest and they say no, I get so irritated and in my mind I blackballed in forever. 00:48:38 Speaker 3: You can't do that a guest on any of your shows. 00:48:46 Speaker 1: Yeah, pretty much. But like we've asked people to come on the podcast and I have a whole list of no's And in my mind. 00:48:55 Speaker 3: Do you keep that list? 00:48:56 Speaker 1: Well, I have it on my computer. In my mind, I think they're gonna ask me for something and you're gonna go back to them and I'm going to not give it to them. 00:49:04 Speaker 2: Is it any know or is it like not right now or maybe later or anything? Just them saying not no. 00:49:13 Speaker 1: If someone says they politely decline, that's just them sad too. 00:49:17 Speaker 3: Oh man A politely decline, but I see the list because Morgan sends me the list. Well, now I'm not going to like, I'm going to be upfront with you. 00:49:25 Speaker 1: I have no yeah, yeah, keep sending me the list. Like I have in my mind like three or four people that I'm like, screw them. Eventually they're gonna ask me for something, and am I gonna give it to them? And who knows? They may have something going on in life? They don't. But then I see them doing other press. I can see that, and I take personal offense and I understand how it's extremely petty. But there's like three or four specifically where I'm so confused, but yeah, I basically blackballed them in my mind. I'm twelve. 00:49:59 Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't advice. I get the mentality because sometimes I see those emails come in and I'm like, I think they think they're too good. 00:50:07 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's exactly, like, who do they think they are? 00:50:13 Speaker 2: Especially when it's one you probably don't even really like, you're not like the most excited about. 00:50:16 Speaker 1: There's one specifically that I was like, oh, this would be interesting and here's why not a massive celebrity, but somebody famous enough and not even have to do it in person. You can do it virtual. And it was like politely declined, I'm like, gosh, I'm. 00:50:37 Speaker 3: So curious which one you're talking about. Some people though I'm playing Devil's advocate here. I don't like doing shows. They don't. 00:50:46 Speaker 1: But I've seen this person doing shows like I started scrolling through TikTok. 00:50:50 Speaker 3: But maybe that's the one show that they're tending them to do. 00:50:55 Speaker 1: It's like seven shows. 00:50:57 Speaker 3: Oh, I'm trying to help here. I know you can't take it personal. 00:51:01 Speaker 1: I do. I take everything personal, and it's the opposite of the four agreements, take nothing personal in business? 00:51:06 Speaker 3: How many things do we pass on politely? 00:51:10 Speaker 1: Some? But for example, I'll give you one specifically, but there's a reason and I and we do pass on things, but not substantial things. And if we do, it's based on I didn't do Nick Viles podcasts because I feel like I'd have anything to offer, Like. 00:51:26 Speaker 3: They talk a lot about pop culture and. 00:51:29 Speaker 1: And like television, and I was like, man, I'm gonna go on, I'm not gonna have anything to offer that show. And that was literally the reason it wasn't because he has a massive show. They have a great following. But I was like, I don't. I don't think I'm going to do a good job on that podcast because they want to talk about shows. I don't watch shows. 00:51:46 Speaker 3: Yeah, so they probably appreciate that. 00:51:48 Speaker 1: I don't know what got back to them, but so there are things like that. But I didn't say politely decline. 00:51:54 Speaker 3: Well, you didn't send the email, but I wouldn't. That's a thing. I hate getting those emails. So I try and find ways to word my passing emails to let them know that we did take it into consideration. 00:52:08 Speaker 1: Even that into consideration feels like, well. 00:52:10 Speaker 3: I don't say that, but I try and make it a human response. 00:52:13 Speaker 1: I'm doing a podcast soon as a guest, and also I don't. I don't do a lot of be a guest on podcasts like interviews. I have like seven podcasts. 00:52:26 Speaker 3: I wanna say you host four or five of them. 00:52:28 Speaker 1: So but I'm doing one, and I was I'm not even say what it is, but I wasn't super familiar with it, and but I just did a couple of clicks. I was like, Okay, this looks interesting, so yeah, sign me up. I just can't believe this one person. 00:52:42 Speaker 3: You will let it go. 00:52:43 Speaker 1: It was like four, but one specifically really fires me up. I wanted to do a segment where I would come on and say who turned us down, but then also weld on I kind of love that. 00:52:55 Speaker 3: Well, just watch the world burn, Bobby. 00:52:57 Speaker 1: It's not it's not just that. But I want to do a segment. I want to look at the camera here so we can click this. I want to do a segment where people that turn down being a guest on the show. I reveal who said no, and then I tell you their story, like something really good about them, so then I don't hate them. Like my goal is to find out like what makes them awesome? Like I share really great things about people that say no to being on our show because I have a black heart now towards that person because they said they didn't want to be on our show. Even though it's unfair for me to feel that way. 00:53:33 Speaker 3: You know what we should do. We should get there all of their moms on. 00:53:38 Speaker 1: And that's creepy to find somebody's mom. Yeah, so I don't know, Well, probably won't do that. Some of them don't offend me though, because I don't even ask Some people they just go out and we said, if I can find one of the emails here. 00:53:54 Speaker 3: They just the people that will please not ready your names, the. 00:53:58 Speaker 1: People that we used to book our show. They just go out and we'll ask certain people on press tours, like for example, I wasn't offended, I do not even know, but unavailable or revisit. Let me find a good one here, Billy Bob Thornton, this won't work with the schedule at the moment. You know what, It's probably true. He seemed like a busy guy or a weird guy both. I'm sure wasn't offended by that at all. I didn't personally ask that. And he's very, very very famous, so he's not on the list. 00:54:27 Speaker 3: No, we love you, Billy Bob. 00:54:31 Speaker 1: Another one, Morgan Freeman unavailable. You know what, I'm sure he's not available very often. Can't get upset at Morgan Freeman for not going on the show. I didn't ask him to be on the show, but he was doing press and they were like, hey, we'll reach out to him. Like great, I'm not going to do a whole bunch more. But Morgan Freeman said, no, there's a weird one. I had a really like great conversation with Ted Danson and Ted Danson app for the show after he came to Redging Idiots like a million dollars show and I was with him and his wife and they said Ted Dancing unavailable and that was probably because he was doing his Netflix show and that's going to remind them, remember me. We had that talk. That's all I do. Have a not available here from somebody that I'm just like, what do you mean? Not available? So all right, that's it? Maybe God, maybe God? And that made you uncomfortable. 00:55:27 Speaker 3: Slightly. 00:55:29 Speaker 1: I thought we were gonna get pul McCartney for a little bit because he came to town. Yeah, And I wasn't even upset at that, but it's like, if you come to town, you're doing a show, your days are pretty jam packed, and also you're freaking Paul McCartney. 00:55:40 Speaker 3: That's what it came down to. 00:55:41 Speaker 1: So I'm not mad everybody that says no. But they did say, hey, we might have Paul McCartney. He's coming to town. There's a good shot. And I was like, Oh, that'd be really great if so. But when that was in Noil, I was like, I get it's Paul McCartney. 00:55:53 Speaker 3: I feel like I'm going to start sending you no information until something's fully one confirmed. That's the last I've learned here. 00:56:00 Speaker 1: I got a politely pass from Johnny Knoxville. Oh you did day that sucked. 00:56:08 Speaker 3: Let's get his momm That ers. 00:56:12 Speaker 1: I feel like that'd be a really good one, and mostly because people now think I'm him. Yeah. 00:56:18 Speaker 2: Imagine you two sitting across from each other. 00:56:20 Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's what's Can you guess the one that irritates me? 00:56:27 Speaker 3: I have an idea in mind. You couldn't torture it out of me on this mic, though. 00:56:33 Speaker 1: Give me one letter of their name V. 00:56:39 Speaker 3: No, okay V. 00:56:41 Speaker 1: Now I'm curious. Oh that one. No, that one just that was just confusing. 00:56:46 Speaker 3: It is a little confusing. 00:56:47 Speaker 1: That was just confusing. You won't know this one. Yeah, but when I get I don't even want it anymore. 00:56:54 Speaker 3: Now, can you give us like I get like a musician or actor? Actor? Yeah? Actor, Yeah, I'm not going to get it. 00:57:10 Speaker 1: No, no, b No, that's not it in the name. 00:57:15 Speaker 3: To pull up this this email chain. 00:57:17 Speaker 1: I'll do this late or just nineties nineties television, nineties, two thousand, let me see when the show was on. I guess I know I'm being petty too. But now we're in it. Oh, early nineties, early to mid nineties. 00:57:42 Speaker 3: Bobby, we were we were babies then. So let's see. 00:57:51 Speaker 1: You for sure know who it is. You for sure know who it is because I told you first, you told me. I was like, can we get the person? It would make sense to get this person? 00:58:06 Speaker 3: Oh are. 00:58:10 Speaker 1: Huh No, there's no art. Uh, there's no art in their name. 00:58:19 Speaker 3: I'm thinking of people who fit that, but they're not men, that's correct. Oh d Yeah, I don't know why I was thinking you were locked in on a guy. 00:58:34 Speaker 1: Oh I think I got it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:58:38 Speaker 3: I do have more information on why that didn't work out, but I'm not going to share it here. We've talked about it after. 00:58:45 Speaker 1: Now I'm already in the hard flag. One day I'm gonna be needed and I'm gonna be like, sorry, you weren't there for me. I'm not there for you. Uh okay. So one of the episodes coming up soon, we're gonna have Sean Ryan on maybe later on, maybe later on this week. Right, that can't even be it? 00:59:02 Speaker 2: Yeah, now we literally moved another interview to make that work too. 00:59:08 Speaker 3: I feel like my job is riding on us getting the real Sean Ryan. Sean if you're out there. 00:59:14 Speaker 1: Oh, real Sean Ryan. I was so surprised that he said yes so quickly and so easily turns out. Okay, So thank you guys. Uh we got to like four questions.
