00:01:06
Speaker 5: I remember two takey sports Radio A five nine twenty two eighty seven. Just look at this.

00:01:11
Speaker 2: Look at that.

00:01:12
Speaker 5: Now I'm Middlesbrough High School alumni. Hoodie that I can wear. How about that? I'm established in eighteen eighty nine after the crater. Well, the crater was a long time ago. It's you. I think he keeps acting like the crater happened like eighteen seventy. This was you know this, This is the town Ryan where Daniel Boone, like the whole westward expansion came right through here, right through there.

00:01:39
Speaker 2: They had the oldest golf course in the state. Don't they oldest golf course in the country, in the country, my mistake.

00:01:44
Speaker 6: Older Boone shot a seventy five.

00:01:46
Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly, Daniel Boone. Get this used to be a honky tonk town back in the day.

00:01:52
Speaker 2: I remember I told you when you guys open up that tunnel, that was big news. That was huge news. And opened the tunnel. Yes, you came down here right well L eighteen did I just started there. It was a debut of our Sat truck che eighteen Sat truck first. Everything it ever did was the opening.

00:02:07
Speaker 5: We had the very first thing the sat truck ever did was the middles of Pearl Teacher was yep. Well, you know they're in the news. They bought yesterday w l e X bought w tvq D. They are only three, well four stations in Lexington. And now the Fox and the CBS station were already paired, and now the ABC and the CBS station are paired.

00:02:30
Speaker 6: It's like the media battle. We have like factions. Now they're teaming up in a little n W over So what does that mean?

00:02:37
Speaker 5: Like Jeff Picicoro now will be hand to hand, used to hand to hand fight Keith Farmer, Now they'll be friends, back to.

00:02:44
Speaker 2: Back, same owner. That's gonna be kind of weird how they handle all that.

00:02:47
Speaker 5: Yeah, that's scripts right. Yeah, they were the one that fired me, so that's good.

00:02:51
Speaker 2: Oh, we don't like him.

00:02:52
Speaker 5: Then they were the ones that got rid of me because of the thing. So so now they'll have another station Ry Kentucky. That's right. A couple of things. And I want to talk about Mitch, but there there's a new reality show that involves Kentucky. Are you ready ready? It is gonna be on HBO. It starts the Sunday of the Brackets, and it's supposed to be you know how they have the F one series that shows you behind F one and golf and all that. They're doing it for bowling. Okay, And there is a guy on the show from Kentucky. They're following five professional bowlers.

00:03:29
Speaker 6: The first second of the trailer is his Kentucky T shirt.

00:03:32
Speaker 5: He's swearing a Kentucky starts. First thing, right, He's swearing a Kentucky T shirt at the beginning of the trailer. The show is called Born to Bowl, Born to Bowl, and one of the guys lives in Kentucky. His name is Kyle Troop and they call him the Bob Ross of bowling. Now, Shannon, I don't know what that means, the Bob Ross of bowling. Does he just have Bob Ross hair?

00:03:58
Speaker 7: I gotta see what that means.

00:04:00
Speaker 6: Wow, that is the Bobs familiar with Kyle Troop. Happy you see the Bob Bob Ross right away.

00:04:05
Speaker 5: And so he in the opening scene he's wearing a Kentucky T shirt. He is a Kentucky fan that lives in Kentucky and he is apparently the centerpiece of Born to Bowl on on Netflix. So he's a person be Hbo I think it's on HBO.

00:04:21
Speaker 2: He's a professional bowler.

00:04:22
Speaker 5: He's a professional bowler from Kentucky. Now, I didn't know we had one of the best professional bowlers in Kentucky. Did you know that?

00:04:31
Speaker 6: Uh? Well, I was gonna add Yeah, his bio, I'm confirming list is from Mount Washington.

00:04:37
Speaker 4: Also, he's bullet He's a bullet can Mount Washington.

00:04:42
Speaker 7: Wow, I've alreadven heard of this guy.

00:04:44
Speaker 5: So this Bob Ross bowler is from your town ship.

00:04:48
Speaker 7: Never was bowling profile, never heard of the guy.

00:04:51
Speaker 5: So he doesn't.

00:04:53
Speaker 7: Know Ross to me?

00:04:54
Speaker 5: What does he look like to you?

00:04:56
Speaker 7: Just a normal dude.

00:04:59
Speaker 5: You're looking at afros and you're not gonna a white guy with an afro like that does not look like a like. It's not a normal look. You must be looking at a problem. Kyle trup tro o up.

00:05:11
Speaker 7: Okay.

00:05:11
Speaker 6: And they're following these guys, I guess they make no money unless they win, so you're just watching them Slummett and hotel rooms over.

00:05:18
Speaker 5: Yeah, yea, yeah, that's a different guy.

00:05:19
Speaker 7: Yeah, that's a different guy that I can see the Bob Ross comparison.

00:05:22
Speaker 5: Okay, Now, another show that's coming on. I have three shows that are coming on is called Age of Attraction, and they have people age twenty two to sixty five, men and women, and they're on an island. Everything's always on an island. Yeah, why they always put everybody on an isle, cheap set.

00:05:43
Speaker 6: They just go.

00:05:43
Speaker 5: Everybody's they're on an island and they pair them up. But then they don't tell you how old the people you are with, and then you have to decide if you fall in love, and then you'll say so apparently that there's a twenty seven year old guy who falls in love with like a few eight year old woman and all of that, and it's forty people, and there's someone from Kentucky and no two, of course there is. There's a there's a woman from northern Kentucky. Uh, that's in it. But of course they don't tell you what their age is because you don't know the premise of the show is they're all people who aren't the age they looked so like the guy we saw last night, he could be on.

00:06:18
Speaker 2: It, easily be on it, mister Ferguson.

00:06:21
Speaker 5: Mister Ferguson certainly could be on it because no one would think he's sixty five.

00:06:25
Speaker 2: Look thirty five?

00:06:26
Speaker 5: Yeah, easy, so are you gonna watch that one? Yeah?

00:06:29
Speaker 6: I watched Love is Blind last night. I'm kind of dipping my toe into these terrible reality dating shows, and this one just looks like the next.

00:06:36
Speaker 5: One I heard. On Love is Blind. There's like the worst guy ever.

00:06:38
Speaker 6: He tells the bad there's a couple of them.

00:06:40
Speaker 5: There's a woman and she's like a doctor and really impressive, and then he tells her she he kind of like her because she doesn't go to Pilate's. Yeah, I mean this woman, he is bad. The whole country seems to hate that guy.

00:06:51
Speaker 6: He has like terrible credit card death that he's never gonna get out of. And then he has this doctor that loves him and she's good looking and he just treats her like crap.

00:06:58
Speaker 5: And he's like, you, my wife needs to go to pilates.

00:07:02
Speaker 6: And he's like, I can take you to the four season.

00:07:04
Speaker 5: And he's also like five to four right.

00:07:06
Speaker 6: Yeah.

00:07:07
Speaker 5: Yeah, the world hates him. Yeah, Chris, if you he's from Cincinnati. Everybody on that show's from from Cincinnati.

00:07:14
Speaker 2: People hate him.

00:07:15
Speaker 6: Yeah, he's he's I don't mean to connect him to Billy, but he's also and they look alike. Game A lot of people who said he looks like Billy. It's all he looks on that bridge. I'm not making it up. You think he looks like Billy. When I heard someone say it, I thought no. And then when I saw the guy looking side, I was like, Okay, I can see how you can Chris. Chris looks like well, Billy has that kind of confidence. Billy is the kind of person who would look at someone and say that, yeah, someone to decide by side on bond that bridge, I'll pull it up. Guy definitely should not have gone on the show. He became a villain.

00:07:46
Speaker 5: He became a villain quick. And then finally Shannon Guy Fieri.

00:07:49
Speaker 2: Oh he does look like Billy.

00:07:51
Speaker 5: Does he look like Billy? Oh? He does look like Billy.

00:07:54
Speaker 6: Yeah, sorry, Billy clip.

00:07:57
Speaker 5: I saw he didn't look back. He does look like right there? Wow, all right, Maybe Billy will get mistaken for him when we go somewhere. And then I finally, Guy Fieri, Shannon is starting on espn U the World Food Fighting League.

00:08:15
Speaker 7: What this is the real thing?

00:08:18
Speaker 5: I think so. I mean they had a segment on Sports Center, so unless it was like a face, I think it's part of their whole espno show thing.

00:08:26
Speaker 7: He decide who wins a food fight knocked.

00:08:29
Speaker 6: Out, knockout count.

00:08:32
Speaker 5: I would think, though, if you're a restaurant owner, like if you're a chef, is that what you want your food used for? Is fighting? See?

00:08:39
Speaker 2: My brain immediately went to that wrestler last night that he had to shoot the pizza dough at somebody's face and the guy that fell down because he threw pizza dough at him. Yeah, is that what the food Fight's all about?

00:08:47
Speaker 6: The Flavortown Food Fight.

00:08:48
Speaker 5: The Flavortown Food Fight.

00:08:49
Speaker 2: They're gonna throw food at each other.

00:08:51
Speaker 5: And their teams. When I saw it, I just thought if there was ever a professional sport that Ryan could go pro with, Yeah.

00:08:58
Speaker 7: How do you know you're good at that? Throw a turkey leg at somebody?

00:09:02
Speaker 5: And THANKSG. I don't know, So I don't know any of the details. I just saw the announcement that the flavor Town Food Fighting League. So these are three shows that are all coming on in the next two weeks.

00:09:12
Speaker 6: This is a good way to fight world hunger and just have a show where we throw food at each and.

00:09:15
Speaker 5: That is a very decadent thing to do. Hey, the world is starving, we throw our food at each other. Oh God, which of those three? The bowling show, the Age of Attraction or the food fighting are you most likely to watching for me?

00:09:32
Speaker 6: The moment the bowling bowling out?

00:09:34
Speaker 5: What about you?

00:09:34
Speaker 2: I would not watch bowling until you said the dudes from Kentucky. I would watch it just for him. I think so bowling, yeah.

00:09:39
Speaker 5: Mario, Age of attraction, See we split all of them. I think I would go. I think I'll go bowling because the guy.

00:09:48
Speaker 2: Yeah.

00:09:49
Speaker 5: But I think food fighting is the least interesting. I would do Age of Attraction next food fighting. I don't. I don't. I don't think I need to see people food fight.

00:09:56
Speaker 6: I'm really interested seeing how these bowlers live with no money and just travel together. And I hope they get a check at the end.

00:10:01
Speaker 5: Well, Kyle Trup from Mount Washington will be a star. All right, Let's talk for a second about the news that came out yesterday. So let me let's go through the timeline. It gets announced via email that Mitch Barnhardt is going. So his original contract said if he stayed through January first, he would get eight hundred thousand dollars a year for three years to be an ambassador for UK Athletics. He stayed through January first. Now he's leaving June thirtieth. Then he had to give six months notice, which tells me he gave his notice on January first, because six months from that is June thirty, so that's a reasonable in that a reasonable gas. He came in on January first for reasons that are not clear because they announced this via email and did not do a press conference. They raised his eight hundred thousand to nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars, which over the course they added a year. So it was supposed to be three years, they added year, it's four. So just in the added one hundred and fifty thousand dollars years, they added six hundred thousand dollars of salary that they were not contractually obliged to do. Okay, then they threw in a six hundred and fifty thousand dollars bonus. So I just want people to understand we were not contractually but obligated. They added a year, so that's nine hundred and fifty thousand dollars. They added one hundred and fifty thousand a year for the first three years. That's four hundred and fifty, So I added nine to fifty four hundred and fifty. That's fourteen one million, four hundred thousand dollars they added. And then they gave him a six hundred and fifty thousand dollar bonus. So, for reasons that are unclear to me, they added two million dollars in money to Mitch Barnhardt when he is retiring. Okay, they added two million dollars that they were not contractually bligated to give. No one has explained that two million dollars. We keep hearing there's a budget crisis with athletics. Two million dollars. So then I called the university on or text at the university on Tuesday night. I was like, by the way, is he gonna be overseeing in athletics? And the spokesman, Jay Blanton, who's a great guy who have talked too many times. I believe him when he says it. So this is part of what I'm saying. I like Jay Blanton so much. I do not believe Jay Blenton would lie to me at all. I think he's a great person. Jay Blanton writes and says this has nothing to do with athletics, and says the money will come from the general Fund. Well, that made people a little upset at UK because the same day they announced this, they send an email to the entire university saying budget cuts are coming. Now. I want you to think, if you're a professor or even just like in the service staff at UK, you get an email that says budget cuts are coming, be ready from Eli Cappeludo. And the same day they announce that they're paying this guy a million dollars a year to quit and to lead an initiative that is not even on their website that they are creating out of thin air. Linda Blackford of The Hair Leader writes an article where she goes what is going on at UK and she points out other times that they've given people like a million dollars to go away, some guy in healthcare, all this stuff, and she says, on the same day that they do this, they're gonna announce they're giving away of this money a million dollars a year to Mitch Barnhart. Six hours later, UK calls her and says, no, no, it's not from the general Fund. It's from UK Athletics, which by the way, is the opposite of what they had said. To both me and to her. Now, either Jay Blanton UK was mistake, which I guess is possible, or they switched it, which.

00:14:05
Speaker 2: Is the more likely.

00:14:06
Speaker 5: They got the outrage and then the money went back into athletics. Here's my point, whichever one it is, is a disaster. If it's from the general fund and we are paying, over the course of four years, four and a half million dollars to a person to run a career center while telling everyone else at the university there's gonna be budget cuts. That's crazy. But maybe equally as crazy would be having someone in an academics position for the university and paying for it via athletics. If he's not gonna have anything to do with athletics, why in the world are you paying for it through athletics. It does not pass the Matt Jones smell test at all. It just doesn't. And I'm not saying that you shouldn't have mentioned some role. I don't even care that he's doing this, and it has nothing to do with how he's performed as an ad But from a smell test perspective, if you're gonna pay a man four and a half million dollars paying two million, that you didn't even owe him, just seemingly as like a parting gift. Yeah, you know what it says to me. This is just my opinion. I have no fact. This is Matt's opinion. I have no basis for it. I think you don't give a man two million extra dollars unless you're pushing him out the door. I don't Why are you giving him two million dollars You don't owe him.

00:15:36
Speaker 2: That is not on the contract, that's not in the contract.

00:15:39
Speaker 6: Why and then why would you do that and then turn around and ask people in Middlesbrough for fifty bucks because you need money to stay?

00:15:49
Speaker 5: Why would you do that? I Something isn't right about it. There's something going on. There's no way. Jay Blanton, who I've for twenty years interacted with and he's never one time told me something that didn't ended up being the case.

00:16:06
Speaker 2: He's very well respected about it, very well respect.

00:16:09
Speaker 5: You cannot tell me that he just got wrong the source of the fund.

00:16:13
Speaker 2: I don't think he did.

00:16:14
Speaker 5: I don't think he did.

00:16:15
Speaker 2: I think the information he had to have flipped it.

00:16:17
Speaker 5: Yep, they had to have what because he didn't just give it to me, He gave it to The Harold Leader too, And then when Linda Blackford writes this article and shout out to Linda Blackford, and this is why the Harold Leader and those entities still matters. Somebody's got to write stuff like that. Ye she writes it, and then six hours later it's coming from athletics, and athletics is paying for something that's not even in athletics. Why is u K athletics paying for an academic thing because it was never it was supposed to come from academics. And that's that's my take. And either way, why did they give Mitch Barnhardt two million dollars that they weren't obligated to do just like bonus money and bonus money they The only way they could have done that is if they wanted him to go. In my opinion, unless somebody has another explanation, and I'm willing to hear it, it does not pass the smell test for me, does it you all? Oh?

00:17:12
Speaker 6: Not at all. I think it's been crazy since the beginning. I just tell you the next four years, I might even be on the beat of this initiative because I want to find out if we're getting our nine to fifty worth a year. I want to I can't wait to see the results. That's an expensive job. We're gonna get some awesome stuff out of there. And the thing is, U can't. Mitch is doing a press conference tomorrow and he'll be asked about this. But the person that needs to answer this is actually not him. He didn't give it to himself. Who gave it to him?

00:17:39
Speaker 8: We don't even know.

00:17:41
Speaker 2: He's not gonna turn it down.

00:17:42
Speaker 5: And the Blackford says in her article it could be like Capaluto, it could be Eric Monday. Most people don't even know who Eric Monday is. It does not pass the smell test. And I hope Lenda Blackford and those folks keep asking. I'm gonna keep asking. I don't get it. You cannot. The same time, tell the university they're in a budget crisis. The athletics department says, we don't have enough money, and then all of a sudden, just give two million dollars. You're not even contractually obligated to give. What gets me?

00:18:15
Speaker 6: I mean, this is a stupid What gets me? I'm fan first, and I already know they're gonna go ask everybody for money, and we're gonna have to come up with nine hundred and fifty thousand before we can even get to paying athletes. I mean, that's gonna be in the budget, and they're gonna tell fans we need you to rally around big Blue, we need the money, and all of this are gonna be like, why are we paying him? Go get us a shooting guard with that money.

00:18:34
Speaker 5: So I'm not GM. I'm not accusing anyone of anything. I am saying though it does not pass the smell test, and at the very least Uko's people and explanation. You do not announce the end of a twenty four year a D tenure that has been by all accounts good by email. Do you know.

00:19:01
Speaker 2: He deserves more respect than that.

00:19:02
Speaker 6: An initiative that has no mention anywhere on the internet until yesterday.

00:19:05
Speaker 5: I mean, when you're when you when people leave, iHeart they at least get cake.

00:19:11
Speaker 2: Well, like you said, it's an important position. This initiative is very important.

00:19:13
Speaker 5: You can't wait to see all these I am interested in in uh in? What that answer is? A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. We'll take a break. Very back, Skazar, welcome back. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. One person writes, Matt, I agree with you. It smells very bad, but this is what happens in corporate America. This isn't corporate America. It's a public university. That's different. I mean, I don't like when it happens in corporate America. They give people CEOs like millions of dollars to go away and whatever. And look, he's owed by the original contract like two and a half million dollars. Now, you could argue that that's a bad contract. I may do that, but unfortunately we did it for Stoops and we did it for cow whatever. But what I'm talking about is they gave him two million dollars. They didn't have to give him. That wasn't in the contract. That's what smells to me. It's not the original amount of money that was in his original deal, but it was that they just gave him two extra million dollars and then didn't seem to know where the money was coming from and announced it be in an email to me.

00:20:31
Speaker 2: That's that's disrespectful too. That give the Manny's flowers have a chance to you know, he's done, he's done great things here. But I guess they couldn't give him a house in the Bahamas, so the Many're just gonna give him cash.

00:20:42
Speaker 5: I can't. But if I had been on the air when they give seehim Newton a house in the Bahamas.

00:20:46
Speaker 6: I think that's better than this. He's at least out of the way in the room telling people what to do when they take over his job.

00:20:54
Speaker 5: That's true.

00:20:55
Speaker 6: Well, I'm gonna tell y'all, I am launching the UK Sports and Workforce Initiative Initiative, where every month I will ask you k what Mitch Barnhert did, and we will make sure the initiatives are each much. We'll have the Initiative Initiative where we track Mitch Barnhart's contributions and if it adds up, we're getting a good value on that nine to fifty k.

00:21:15
Speaker 5: You know, I this act. Like I said, I'm more frustrated with the University than Mitch on this. I mean, if you're Mitch Barnhart, somebody gives you two million dollars, You're probably not gonna say no no. But I do want to know why that happened, and I will say to you, someone needs to explain to me why they gave it to him. That doesn't involve them getting something back, which would have to be him leaving. People don't just universities in a financial crisis don't just give a two million dollar thank.

00:21:48
Speaker 2: You, at least they shouldn't, which kind of what this looks like, right, But those ten lower level basketball tickets ain't exactly cheap either.

00:21:57
Speaker 5: So why are we paying for his country club membership? I'm serious? Why are we paying for his country club membership?

00:22:04
Speaker 6: I mean, he probably made close to thirty million over his career, I think, which.

00:22:11
Speaker 5: Does smell And I'm not you know, I don't. I don't think I'm wrong about that. Who's next? Jack, Jack? Go ahead, Jack?

00:22:21
Speaker 9: Hey, I just wanted to call. I have a bone to pick with the City of Lexington.

00:22:27
Speaker 5: Potholes.

00:22:28
Speaker 9: Oh my gosh, I'm so sick of him. I got a call last night from my friend. He hit his third pothole because he commutes, and popped his third tire on his way to Lexington. I went to go help him take it off. While we were at the gas station, another guy pulled in popped his tire on the same one. Then another guy pulled in popped both his front and back tire on the same pothole.

00:22:52
Speaker 10: He called a tow truck.

00:22:54
Speaker 9: He called a tow truck on the way here the tow truck popped his tire.

00:22:58
Speaker 11: On that same pothole.

00:23:00
Speaker 10: There's a couple of like it was nuts, like I couldn't.

00:23:06
Speaker 9: Oh, okay, Newtown Pike, right between the East and West.

00:23:13
Speaker 5: It's a horrible one. It's they're they're they're right.

00:23:18
Speaker 6: I know, I appreciate the com There was one on Harry's Burg. It's a little far from me, but it has a big reputation. And then there's one Carls will just disappear in front of you into the ground and never come out again.

00:23:29
Speaker 5: There's we'll do anything on this show. We'll do basketball and potholes. Very back.

00:23:40
Speaker 1: T J Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll make them pay.

00:23:44
Speaker 4: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage.

00:23:47
Speaker 7: Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:49
Speaker 5: Welcome back Tukey Sports Radio. So, I mean, you know, this is an awesome look at it.

00:23:55
Speaker 2: They're bringing more, oh my goshon.

00:23:57
Speaker 5: They the local coke bottling come to hear Middlesborough has brought me eight twelve packs of mister Pibbs zero.

00:24:05
Speaker 7: You should be stocked up for the rest of the year.

00:24:07
Speaker 5: I don't. I'm not, thank you very much.

00:24:09
Speaker 7: I did drink that much. I mean, how much do you drink in a week?

00:24:12
Speaker 5: Well, I mean I don't drink that in a week. But like this will say, you know, they don't have it in Lexington, so this is the only time I can get it. So now I can take this on. Eight twelve packs of mister Pibs zero. Thank you very much. How about that?

00:24:26
Speaker 2: Hey?

00:24:26
Speaker 8: Different?

00:24:27
Speaker 5: How much that? Like this is better than anything you could get me because I can't get this.

00:24:31
Speaker 2: Yes, this is the one thing that you actually get excited about, and they bring you mister Pibs zero. They brought in three cases, so that's very nice. They brought in three more. Well that's something. They just brought in three more.

00:24:40
Speaker 5: And then they've got water, cummeling gap water and Fresco for mom and Larry.

00:24:47
Speaker 2: Cherry Dyke Coke come on to steal one of those. Well, how about that's awesome. Welcome back to Middlesborough.

00:24:52
Speaker 5: How many is that? So there are hang on? Hang on, there's eight twelve packs of mister Pibbs zero. How many mister pipsy rose do I have? I mean, you've been working on your well. Exactly where did we stay last night?

00:25:13
Speaker 6: He's gonna we.

00:25:15
Speaker 5: Actually did stay in the holiday?

00:25:16
Speaker 8: Thank you, thank you.

00:25:20
Speaker 5: I did that on purpose so that he could We did stay in a holiday inexpres Did.

00:25:25
Speaker 6: I heard Mario really enjoyed it?

00:25:26
Speaker 5: Yeah, Mario, real quick, jump on the thing here. I want Mario take these. I want Mario to uh there you go, talk about real quick before we go to the phones. What it's like to spend the night in a room with Ridling.

00:25:39
Speaker 8: Well, it starts off, you know, me and Ryan we have our conversations and then Ryan gets a phone call from his lady and then they talk to about an hour and you know, their conversations are very what words should I put? Very flirty?

00:25:55
Speaker 5: Like give us an example of something.

00:25:57
Speaker 8: So they talk about like their dates so that they have coming up, like he has a big date on.

00:26:01
Speaker 5: Saturday, and where where's he going on Satura?

00:26:03
Speaker 8: He's going a summerset. He's on the for what is it the Edgar Edgar Allan Poe concert.

00:26:11
Speaker 5: Yeah, Poe is kind of Dad. Yeah, it's an acoustic set Edgar. He's going to the Edgar Allan Poe concert. Yeah, in Summerset, in Somerset.

00:26:24
Speaker 8: It's at the Virginia where we had the show in the summer.

00:26:27
Speaker 5: So okay, and so then you said so so you said they were very lovely, dub you uncomfortable, very uncomfortable.

00:26:34
Speaker 8: I was very uncomfortable. He's very flirty. You know the his what are the cameos that you make, it's very similar to that.

00:26:40
Speaker 5: Like, it's very very flirty. And then what happens when he goes to sleep. That's the worst part. He goes to sleep, it's the worst part.

00:26:47
Speaker 8: Like, I got probably one hour of sleep last night and it was just non stop snoring.

00:26:52
Speaker 5: I got threw my pillow at him.

00:26:54
Speaker 2: I did.

00:26:54
Speaker 8: He stopped for fifteen minutes, and then he started back up again and he he was talking in his sleep this time.

00:27:00
Speaker 5: What did he say?

00:27:00
Speaker 8: It just gibberish, like yeah, yeah, yeah.

00:27:02
Speaker 5: That was when I lost it. I was just like, now, you said, you yelled at it. I did. I was upset.

00:27:08
Speaker 8: I'm trying to get sleeping. I'm just hearing him talk in gibberish.

00:27:13
Speaker 6: I remember with Ryan many times. The talking in his sleep is new to me. The storing of that, of course.

00:27:19
Speaker 5: So if you were to put on a scale of like one to one hundred, how difficult is it to sleep in a room with Ron.

00:27:26
Speaker 8: I'd probably say ninety. I probably say ninety ninety.

00:27:31
Speaker 5: Yeah, it was.

00:27:31
Speaker 8: It was bad. It was NonStop, like he just kept snoring and you hit him with a pillow. I had to hit him with a pillow. He'd stopped for like ten minutes and then start back up again. Sometimes I'd like, uh, I'd make a noise just to know that I'm letting remind him that I'm here, And he'd stopped for like ten minutes. So I had different methods. I used to stay in his room.

00:27:50
Speaker 5: I would get I would stand up and get right above his ear and then go and clap and he would jump, and then I would jump right back in bed and act like it wasn't me.

00:28:00
Speaker 8: But it worked.

00:28:01
Speaker 5: It worked for ten minutes, and it ain't be right back to it. There you go, But I try to sleep in those ten minutes. All right, Well, Mario, sorry you had to deal with that. It took twenty two So the Guy Fieri Food Fight Competition Uh, people are telling me he's not a fight. It's like they're cooking.

00:28:18
Speaker 2: The competing against each other.

00:28:21
Speaker 5: But it's not. When I saw I was on ESPN it was called a food fight, I assumed it was a fight.

00:28:25
Speaker 6: Yeah, we got plenty of options to watch people cook against each other. That's not nearly as exciting.

00:28:29
Speaker 5: Well, but that guy fier On, I'm not even much less likely to watch it. It now is definitely third. Who's next, Kevin? Go ahead, Kevin? Hi, Matt for some caller, who what what's up?

00:28:43
Speaker 2: Hey?

00:28:44
Speaker 10: The Marios post about the celebrity doppelgangers for you all on Tuesday. Yes, I'm gonna say something that made that's gonna make everybody feel a little uncomfortable. But I think Ryan resembles bread Pit a lot more than anyone would care to admit.

00:28:59
Speaker 2: I got I get mistaken for that all the time, So you're not far.

00:29:02
Speaker 5: He does not resemble Brad pitt in an. There's no.

00:29:07
Speaker 10: Or like Douglas and ye a little bit like that. But yeah, it was not a crazy thread.

00:29:14
Speaker 5: I agree.

00:29:15
Speaker 2: Yeah, you're dead on.

00:29:16
Speaker 5: I think it's pretty crazy.

00:29:17
Speaker 6: Call to day.

00:29:17
Speaker 2: It is our call to day.

00:29:18
Speaker 5: We got right here appreciate the call. Lou Holtz died saw that. Yeah. One of the great fake callers to this show of all time, maybe the best fake Lou Holts Fake Lou Holtz was.

00:29:29
Speaker 2: An awesome caller. Lou Holtz is a football coach who I first realized when he was at Notre Dame and he was a superstar. And then he goes to the TV announcing and just his list made him great.

00:29:41
Speaker 5: He and Mark May were on. They were college football for a long time. That's right, he and Mark May. Yep, we watched a video yesterday. I showed it to Ryan and Mario. If you have not seen this video, it's a pretty amazing video. Drew. He is giving a speech to the South Carolina A football team, and he's like talking about I don't even know what the point of the speech is. But as he's doing it, Shannon, he has a newspaper, that day's newspaper and he's ripping it in half. So as he talks, he rips it in half multiple times, and he gets it down into this little ball and he finalizes the speech by then taking it opening and it's all together. It's back together. After you've watched him rip it in Halfician, I'm sure it's a magic trick, and I'm sure there's a way to do it. I looked under it and everybody was like, ask Grog, how do you do it? And I kind of don't want to know.

00:30:40
Speaker 2: I just don't want it.

00:30:41
Speaker 5: I just thought it was kind of amazing. He takes a newspaper and he rips it in half, over and over and over and it ends up all together.

00:30:48
Speaker 7: Have you seen this, I've seen that trick a lot.

00:30:52
Speaker 6: That's he probably got a magic stuff the night before.

00:30:57
Speaker 5: So you're saying it's a trick, Well, obviously.

00:30:59
Speaker 6: I don't want to play. You're excited. That's a pretty common trick.

00:31:01
Speaker 5: I can't do it. It's a common trick.

00:31:04
Speaker 6: I'd say that's one of the beginning to magic tricks, is that news So you can't do it with a regular newspaper. I don't know how they do it. I'm not trying to downplay it to I'm just saying I have acting like it's not impressed if I've seen it. I've seen it several times. I don't have the move, but I bet he got a magic set the night before, and that was one of the first tricks that taught him.

00:31:22
Speaker 5: I was impressed.

00:31:25
Speaker 2: How do you do that?

00:31:26
Speaker 5: Shannon? You're watching it, isn't that impressed? Yeah?

00:31:29
Speaker 7: I mean he's just a head coach and ambagician.

00:31:32
Speaker 5: Apparently in front he does in front of his whole team.

00:31:37
Speaker 7: Impress them or motivate them or what was the point?

00:31:39
Speaker 5: Think it worked. They're all excited about it because in the speech he's saying, you know, people will try to, I guess, rip you in half or whatever, and then you come together.

00:31:47
Speaker 6: I like the speech. I've seen it in just little magic shows, but doing it for a team maybe so.

00:31:53
Speaker 3: R P.

00:31:53
Speaker 5: Lou Holtz, Notre Dame South Carolina and TV announcer, he was at Arkansas. You're right?

00:32:01
Speaker 6: What As soon as I got the news just said he died. My brain went to fake Lou holds.

00:32:06
Speaker 5: I was hoping, I don't I don't know what's happened with him. I was hoping he might call today. I'd like to hear one more face.

00:32:12
Speaker 2: He's not called it forever. Today's to day. He needs to call it.

00:32:15
Speaker 5: So if you're if you're out there or tomorrow, let's go just do it. Who's up next?

00:32:19
Speaker 7: Wentucky Lee?

00:32:20
Speaker 5: Wkentucky Lee? How are you.

00:32:23
Speaker 11: Good morning, guys. It's good to talk to you. Man, it's been a long time.

00:32:26
Speaker 5: Good to talk to you. Sir.

00:32:29
Speaker 11: Yes, sir uh am. I the only person that thinks Sannon sounds like the voice on Scream, the prank caller on Scream.

00:32:39
Speaker 5: I've never heard that scream on Scream. Scream seven just came out. Got horrific.

00:32:45
Speaker 11: Yeah, but anyway, I just want to stay out frustrated. I am with the fans and the media because Mark Polpe, he's our coach. The players love Mark Mark Pope, and it's obvious that he can coach. It's just we might not turn around this year. I hope we do, but I guarantee well I'm not guarantee it, but I feel it in my heart that we will win the national championship very soon.

00:33:17
Speaker 5: So let me ask you a question with Tucky Lee. If if next year, let's say, if next year we have a year very similar to this year, would that make you question it at all?

00:33:31
Speaker 11: Matt, We've got to get some recruits in here, and we got to use the transfer portal, and uh, I think he just needs to get a GM and this is all new to him. But of course, I mean he's got it. We gotta do better next year. But I feel it, man, I'm telling you we're gonna do better next year, all right.

00:33:52
Speaker 5: I like that.

00:33:54
Speaker 11: We're gonna win it all in the next two or three years. And I want to say, go big boo and thank you all.

00:33:59
Speaker 5: Some no big Blue. I appreciate it. I like the confidence there.

00:34:04
Speaker 6: You gotta have that a little bit. I will say at some point for all fans, we all have a line of you know, what's not good enough. If this continues, we're having Wednesday conversations and losing games, we shouldn't. I feel like all fans would get an agreement at some point. Yeah, two years is early.

00:34:18
Speaker 5: So by the way, if Kentucky plays on Wednesday, you know that game, if it's seven o'clock, you think fans would would make the trip down there so early.

00:34:27
Speaker 2: I talked to a guy yesterday. He goes man, I bought my tickets. Didn't even buy Wednesday tickets. I bought Thursday Friday tickets. I don't have a hotel room till Thursday night. I think a lot of fans have already made their plans set that does not include Wednesday.

00:34:41
Speaker 5: Well it should. It better because if we don't win. Now with all of that set, if we were to beat Florida and a couple things were to go the other way, Vandy were to beat Tennessee, I think it's Vandy beats Tennessee and Missouri loses toever they play. If we beat Florida, we could end up the double bar.

00:35:00
Speaker 2: That's that's insane, crazy, huh.

00:35:03
Speaker 6: Just the last weekend could change from a four seed and a ten seed. It's different narratives around the different day based on Saturday's outcomes.

00:35:12
Speaker 2: And we play at four o'clock. All the other games night games, maybe like.

00:35:15
Speaker 5: We it's all day, all day, could be any wow. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we will take a break and come back. Final segment here in Middlesbrough's KSR. Welcome back, Teke you Sports Radio. If I'm nine twenty two a cent, Missouri plays Arkansas, so they could lose, they could definitely. Look if you're to beat Florida and then Missouri loses to Arkansas and Vandy beats Tennessee, or excuse me, Tennessee beats Vandy because we have the time breaker on we would have a chance it just embarrassing.

00:35:45
Speaker 2: We're sitting here talking about the fact trying not to play on Wednesday in the SEC tournament.

00:35:49
Speaker 5: One person rights, Matt, I think it's so sweet that your mom cooked you and your friend's food. Tell her. I think that's so nice for a mother to do. Isn't that nice?

00:35:59
Speaker 2: Very sweet? And I'm gonna tear into it again and have it for lunch.

00:36:03
Speaker 5: Tear into it, Yes, I am dam I mean you could just say you're gonna eat it.

00:36:07
Speaker 2: I'm wanna tear it up.

00:36:08
Speaker 6: Have seconds thirds.

00:36:10
Speaker 5: Yeah, Well, I mean she will like that. She wants you. She gets a mad like if you don't eat enough, she'll she'll be like, what's wrong with you? I'll go you know, maybe I just trying to not gain ten pounds on this trip. But but for mom, you need you, We need to What are you? What are you looking at?

00:36:27
Speaker 8: Mom?

00:36:27
Speaker 10: What is that?

00:36:27
Speaker 5: I don't want to say? All right? Two eight of My mom's being very emotional this morning, which is which is very nice. Oh that's her great kids. Okay, well the listeners don't know who that is. But seven seven seven four five two five four, Uh, tomorrow we're at Paul Miller.

00:36:43
Speaker 6: Four.

00:36:44
Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, East New Circle Road.

00:36:46
Speaker 5: Yes, So what's the address?

00:36:48
Speaker 2: It is truck there at the corner of Winchester Road in New Circle and.

00:36:52
Speaker 5: Eighty one Beasley Street. And if they don't have parking there, they have it right across the street and they'll shuttle you overs News Circle. We're gonna have sissy cakes there, yes, and then Malachai Moreno and Jasper Johnson. So the key is just just pull your kids out of school, you know, why not. There's no reason for them to go to school tomorrow. It's March madness. It's March madness. And getting ready for the Florida game. How are we feeling any chance to feel like we could pull off the upset Saturday?

00:37:20
Speaker 6: I will say there's a chance because you played them well. I mean, we don't do moral victories, but you were at least competitive. You know, you can hang with them and then rupperying on a Saturday. Sometimes things just happen. I mean the Tennessee Denim game a little while ago, Florida last year when it was at like eleven am. I think they can win it. I'm unlikely to bet that or predicted, but I'm not completely ruling it out.

00:37:41
Speaker 5: I don't think it's crazy that they could win. I mean, I think they can.

00:37:44
Speaker 2: I mean it is walker Horn Senior Day. They don't lose a walker Horn Senior Day.

00:37:49
Speaker 6: You've been waiting to say that. Go ahead and make your joke.

00:37:52
Speaker 5: You're gonna I know you do this every year on Senior Day. It's like one of those.

00:37:56
Speaker 2: Well, especially this year since it's walker Horn Senior Day, it won't be a eye in the house.

00:38:01
Speaker 6: What about Otago Away.

00:38:02
Speaker 5: That's Otaga Away and that's a nice senior Day.

00:38:06
Speaker 2: But Walker's a Kentucky kid. It means more. With that Kentucky on his chest. I think it's from Texas well, he's originally from from Kentucky.

00:38:14
Speaker 5: Okay, Yeah, Kentucky women are losing thirty six thirty five at halftime, so one point game at halftime in the SEC.

00:38:21
Speaker 2: And Georgia beat him and that during the regular season, so it's gonna be a battle.

00:38:24
Speaker 5: Who's up next, Shannon Richard, Richard, go ahead, Richard.

00:38:28
Speaker 10: Good morning, Matt the first time long time. Like the native Fort Myers, Florida snowbird. Blessings to your father, Larry. It's great news.

00:38:37
Speaker 5: Thanks.

00:38:38
Speaker 10: Question is yes, The question is the smell at the UK office over there. Is it public record who signed that updated contract and that the board have to approve it.

00:38:52
Speaker 5: It's a great question. So here's the thing. This is complicated. Yes, if it were unif versity money, it's public record and would have to go through the board, et cetera. However, they've now made the athletics into this Champion's Blue LLC that the university says they will release all the information, but it is not clear legally whether they have to or not, and so far I don't think anyone's challenged it. We'll know in the next year or so. But the short answer to the question is yes they should, but we'll see if they do, and then we'll see, honestly, if media outlets will sue to get it. I mean, this all could have been handled if they had just had an announcement and told people to answer to these questions.

00:39:42
Speaker 10: Just a quick comment on the current team. I was a UK attendee from seventy four to seventy eight, so I've seen a lot of the basketball over my years, and it seems like this late in the season we're getting into foul trouble early in the game, which is preventing us from our bigs or the guards out on the floor, which I think is upsetting NAFPL cart. Do you think we should do anything more to try and stay with five and just sub to occasionally, Yeah, I mean I do.

00:40:15
Speaker 5: But then the foul things can be an issue. I appreciate the call. I mean, I'll use the example of Aberdeen. He got two fouls early, but then he only had one foul the rest of the game. So, especially the guards, I feel like Ryan, if you're a guard, you can play in a way where you will not commit fouls. Now it's tougher for bigs because guys can sometimes run into them and there's really not a lot they can do. But guards, especially, I feel like you can say just stop reaching and don't get and don't barrel to the bat. I mean, we think about one thing that's changed in college basketball is how many fewer charges are called. Hardly ever, almost never.

00:40:50
Speaker 6: Now they don't reward that's sliding in like.

00:40:53
Speaker 5: They use that goodness. That's actually something that's really made the college game better. You rarely rarely see charges.

00:41:00
Speaker 2: And with about the backcourt guards, abready got two fouls early, took him out. He only got one foul the rest of the game. He knew, he knows what he needs you to stay on the floor.

00:41:09
Speaker 5: Yeah, so I think you, I think you should be able to stay on especially if you're a card. Who's next to Jake Shake, go ahead, Jake.

00:41:17
Speaker 12: Hey man, I quick comment, free, then a question, and then I'll just hang up and listen. So the the pr nightmare yesterday, that was the whole Barnhart situation. But I also kind of want to talk about Buzz Baker.

00:41:28
Speaker 10: A little bit.

00:41:29
Speaker 12: I know, I saw a sweet this morning from Oscar Combe saying.

00:41:32
Speaker 5: That him over.

00:41:36
Speaker 12: Yeah, you know, it's just kind of emblematic of that day yesterday. But my question is, you know, with the whole Barnhardt, uh, you know kind of retirement package, is there actually any legal standing for somebody to like hire a private investigator or whatnot to actually understand if there's been like fraud committed from taxpayers.

00:42:00
Speaker 5: I mean you can, you could. I don't know that people. I appreciate the call. Really, this is what your state legislature is for, is to find stuff like this out. I mean, that's who ultimately has the oversight over all these entities, the Board of Trustees, and the state legislature. So that's who should should know. And then I think, if you believe what Linda Blackford says, and she says, Eric Monday is a big part of this. He needs to speak. No one even knows who this person is. Yeah, Oscar comes, by the way, tweeted out to those who have bombarded me with text overnight. Yes, you're one hundred percent correct. My buddy buzz Baker got screwed by JMI. No other way to explain his departure. There's such a mess on UK's campus nowadays, especially in athletics. Jmi's name keeps popping up. Not good just my opinion. So there you go, Oscar very well respected.

00:42:51
Speaker 6: It's just us know, lots of people believe.

00:42:53
Speaker 5: This not a good not a good day yesterday in the PR world for the UK folks. Thanks to my parents for a hosting. Thanks great for Larry to get to see him. We're gonna eat some more food and we'll see tomorrow at Paul miller Ford. This has been ks R
