<v Speaker 1>Hey everybody, it's Tuesday, July first, twenty twenty five. Welcome
<v Speaker 1>to the Giant BombCast, Episode eight hundred and ninety seven.
<v Speaker 1>That's right, folks, I'm your host gen Oh Shoah joining
<v Speaker 1>me co Captain of the Ship for this week. That's right,
<v Speaker 1>he's been promoted to co Captain of the Ship. He's
<v Speaker 1>also CPO. Is that your title? But he's also the
<v Speaker 1>title that we know the most.
<v Speaker 2>The bird boy of.
<v Speaker 1>Games Media, Mike Manati.
<v Speaker 3>Hi, it's me and I'm a bad bad boy.
<v Speaker 1>That's right. Uh uh. He's You can find him on
<v Speaker 1>the front of boats, dancing and cheering on his team
<v Speaker 1>as they paddled down the river because he is so
<v Speaker 1>fast with with with riz and charisma. He's Aura dynamic,
<v Speaker 1>Dan record.
<v Speaker 4>The hell are you talking about?
<v Speaker 2>Jan That's right, you're on a boat.
<v Speaker 1>You're dancing. We got emotes for the summer. That's what
<v Speaker 1>all the kids are into.
<v Speaker 5>IoT, you're doing a Titanic reference. But then you just
<v Speaker 5>lost me with a bunch of stuff. I decided, I
<v Speaker 5>don't know what you're going for.
<v Speaker 1>I'll send a boat.
<v Speaker 4>I was on a boat like a week ago.
<v Speaker 1>Never mind, so long, I'll send you some links later
<v Speaker 1>Dan okay okay uh and and speaking about boats, he's
<v Speaker 1>keeping us all afloat. That's right, Jeff Backler.
<v Speaker 2>What's up? I actually was on a boat this weekend?
<v Speaker 1>Was that where the podcast was? No?
<v Speaker 2>No, no, no no. That would have been way better
<v Speaker 2>than the situation I was in. But great to be here.
<v Speaker 2>I'm excited. We've got a special guest, jan don't.
<v Speaker 1>We and that special guest that's right, call the Baja
<v Speaker 1>men from nineteen ninety eight to figure out who let
<v Speaker 1>the dogs out, because we got.
<v Speaker 2>The big dog right here. That's right.
<v Speaker 1>Man, Sorry scout.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, hello everybody, Thank you for having me first video
<v Speaker 6>podcast I've been on for a while.
<v Speaker 7>Apologize for running late. It's all my faults.
<v Speaker 6>I'm like this Frankenstein collection of screens and Mike's and
<v Speaker 6>trying to get everything working.
<v Speaker 7>It's always a pleasure, man, Audio.
<v Speaker 1>Matt Rory, throw the Catholic guilt out the window, all right,
<v Speaker 1>No need to apologize for the next at least two
<v Speaker 1>and a half hours. I'm asking you to see your face.
<v Speaker 1>Happy to be around. I've used the Lord of the
<v Speaker 1>Rings deck that you gave me several times.
<v Speaker 7>Hey cool, I'm glad.
<v Speaker 1>Do I think I'm good at playing magic. No, I
<v Speaker 1>think I'm Garbo.
<v Speaker 6>Actually we gotta stream sometime. We can do little arena
<v Speaker 6>stream teach.
<v Speaker 1>How's everyone doing this week?
<v Speaker 2>Feeling good? Looking good, smelling good?
<v Speaker 3>Jen?
<v Speaker 2>Thanks for asking?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, what are you doing? Smell wise different?
<v Speaker 1>Have you not been smelling good?
<v Speaker 7>Like?
<v Speaker 1>Did you buy axe body spray?
<v Speaker 2>First of all, you know what when you live in
<v Speaker 2>New Jersey, axe body spray comes out of the faucet. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>is it that boy on?
<v Speaker 1>And now it comes like in some beaches they have
<v Speaker 1>like those sunscreen machines where you just step in and
<v Speaker 1>it like sprays. Those are six thick really like that.
<v Speaker 1>They're like an outbreak has matt situation, but sunscreen, you know, is.
<v Speaker 4>It natural where?
<v Speaker 5>You know, Like normally you go to Jersey or even
<v Speaker 5>like California or something, you go to the beach and
<v Speaker 5>it's just like water has a certain like look to it,
<v Speaker 5>you know. But then like you go to like Aruba
<v Speaker 5>or like you know, like an island or something, and
<v Speaker 5>it's like kool aid blue. It is like like is
<v Speaker 5>that just natural thing? Or is that a hey, get
<v Speaker 5>the tourist in type thing?
<v Speaker 4>Why is it that blue?
<v Speaker 2>Time? Out. Yes, you're asking two different things.
<v Speaker 1>Okay.
<v Speaker 2>The first question was meant to almost imply that, like
<v Speaker 2>these islands and Caribbean islands are like doing something special
<v Speaker 2>to attract the tourists to their water.
<v Speaker 3>That's the natural state of the watt So that's.
<v Speaker 5>The thing, is like, what what is making it so
<v Speaker 5>much more just vibrant blue when you're on like a
<v Speaker 5>Caribbean island.
<v Speaker 7>Probably less run off.
<v Speaker 6>Like you know, if you're on a coast of the US,
<v Speaker 6>you've got a lot of rivers taking alluvial soil and
<v Speaker 6>taking it out to the ocean.
<v Speaker 7>So it's probably gonna be a little more dense and darker.
<v Speaker 5>But the oblivial soil dam river doctor, what's going on?
<v Speaker 2>It's right, it's what Mike is right. It's I believe
<v Speaker 2>he's right. It's what is in the water and all
<v Speaker 2>the you know, I don't know, sediment and crap that's
<v Speaker 2>in the water needles.
<v Speaker 4>It looks a lot better than the islands on the Yes.
<v Speaker 7>The islands are going to have like big mountain ranges with.
<v Speaker 6>Water offlow for the most part, so you're probably just
<v Speaker 6>from pure ocean water.
<v Speaker 1>Matt Rory, You you read the most out of I
<v Speaker 1>think anyone I know, because I always see reading a
<v Speaker 1>newspaper of sorts, oh yeah, or like a little tiny booklet.
<v Speaker 1>How do you think you'd fare in a spelling bee?
<v Speaker 6>Honestly pretty decent, but if you've ever watched like the
<v Speaker 6>real one, they gets really tricky. I'm really good at
<v Speaker 6>like crossing puzzles and spelling in general, but the stuff
<v Speaker 6>they pick it's always like some weird medical procedure from
<v Speaker 6>like the nineteenth century. That's twenty words twenty letters long
<v Speaker 6>for the last one, So I get pretty far. I
<v Speaker 6>got really mad in high school one time because I
<v Speaker 6>got called out and uh, and they wanted to know
<v Speaker 6>how to spell click. So I just said c l
<v Speaker 6>c K and you're like, no, the other one like.
<v Speaker 5>Clean as the definition.
<v Speaker 7>Bye, it's a bad bad call.
<v Speaker 1>But still that feels like, yeah, that feels like a
<v Speaker 1>bad called bad sportsmanship.
<v Speaker 6>Celebrity hominem from thirty Rock felt like I was on
<v Speaker 6>an episode of that.
<v Speaker 7>No it's the other one, but no, i'd i'd pretty
<v Speaker 7>decent that I spelling me. I guarantee you.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, okay, all right, all right, I was a Disney
<v Speaker 3>World again. Yeah, I mean it was the week.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, no, no, no, no, before you get to that, Mike,
<v Speaker 1>you need to explain the airplane hiccup yesterday.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, well yeah this I got it here.
<v Speaker 3>Well yeah, because then I flew out on Friday. It
<v Speaker 3>was like a very early, like six am flight, So okay,
<v Speaker 3>so you know you book that, you book the return flight.
<v Speaker 3>It's like, all right, six am, yep, that's That's what
<v Speaker 3>I'm thinking about. So then the whole time one, yep,
<v Speaker 3>leaven very early on Monday morning. I'm gonna be able
<v Speaker 3>to work a full day. Don't have to worry about
<v Speaker 3>Monday morning this with Mitch or Mega man, It's all
<v Speaker 3>gonna happen. So I get up early early. Sure would
<v Speaker 3>have liked to slep more, but nope. Had to get
<v Speaker 3>out of that hotel, get to the airport, get there,
<v Speaker 3>have a nice chat with the lady taking my bag.
<v Speaker 3>Then she's like, oh, you're here twelve hours early. I
<v Speaker 3>was like what, oh no, no, so yeah that was that.
<v Speaker 3>Turns out my flight home was a six six pm situations. Yes, yes.
<v Speaker 3>The question from Jeff becklar.
<v Speaker 2>Hi first time, long time, How the fuck does this
<v Speaker 2>happen to any human on Earth?
<v Speaker 3>I guess I just I'll tell you what. I've had
<v Speaker 3>a few snaphews like this. It could be worse because
<v Speaker 3>like sometimes I go and like, oh, you're playing left yesterday,
<v Speaker 3>stupid sir. Yes, yeah, sometimes happened. That's one time. That
<v Speaker 3>was a one time.
<v Speaker 6>Do you not check in for your flights? Like I
<v Speaker 6>just checking twenty check in? Oh but how could you
<v Speaker 6>check in twenty four because you go twenty four hours ahead?
<v Speaker 7>You were twelve hours off.
<v Speaker 2>I love it because you usually.
<v Speaker 6>Checking checking twenty four hours ahead, like on the dot
<v Speaker 6>to get a good seat.
<v Speaker 7>I mostly go southwest, so that's southwest.
<v Speaker 3>It didn't I checked in, but didn't really matter. I
<v Speaker 3>had it was some smaller thing called breeze that flies
<v Speaker 3>out of cantidact Is.
<v Speaker 1>Just like one of those Disney Air airlines.
<v Speaker 5>No pretty convenient mix up though, because then that meant
<v Speaker 5>when we had our meeting midday, he got to take
<v Speaker 5>it from the et ride.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, thankfully, my my one buddy works at Universal, just
<v Speaker 3>got me a ticket to go to Universal. So at
<v Speaker 3>first I went back to the hotel because I was
<v Speaker 3>able to get back in my room and sleep a
<v Speaker 3>little bit. But I just went to the Universe. I
<v Speaker 3>went to Universal studios merely went on et Uh. It
<v Speaker 3>was in the line while we took our call and
<v Speaker 3>they had to get on the ride. I was like,
<v Speaker 3>all right, but I can still hear you, but I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna be on the ride for the that's like five minutes.
<v Speaker 2>It was how that worked.
<v Speaker 3>That was a really weird meetings.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, what kind of financial outlay would all of you
<v Speaker 6>be in for twelve hours in an airport. I I
<v Speaker 6>can't see spending less than one hundred dollars on beer
<v Speaker 6>and food in twelve hours.
<v Speaker 5>No, you gotta go to the lounge. You gotta go
<v Speaker 5>to the lounge and then pay for a lounge.
<v Speaker 1>About it?
<v Speaker 5>Crackets, crackets, crackers is a cracket?
<v Speaker 2>A cracket.
<v Speaker 4>Then like open bar and stuff, the lounges is the
<v Speaker 4>way to go.
<v Speaker 2>You gotta pay for the lounge.
<v Speaker 5>You just get a credit card that gives you priority
<v Speaker 5>pass access and then you can just go into a
<v Speaker 5>bunch of different lounges.
<v Speaker 4>And it just saves you so much money. Well, that's
<v Speaker 4>assuming account a good credit score. If you travel, play.
<v Speaker 5>You open up a credit cards, travel benefits and stuff
<v Speaker 5>like that, and then.
<v Speaker 6>Lounges, Now, I mean you do you generally those credit
<v Speaker 6>cards you do pay for yearly, so you're still yeah,
<v Speaker 6>but they.
<v Speaker 5>Come with like three hundred dollars travel credit and stuff
<v Speaker 5>like that that pays for itself like immediately.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Look, I'm not getting paid by the company, so I'm
<v Speaker 5>not gonna be, you know, showing for it. I'm just saying,
<v Speaker 5>look into some good travel credit cards. It's changed my life.
<v Speaker 3>The only think of that that really sucked. Well one,
<v Speaker 3>I felt incredibly guilty because I couldn't do the shows
<v Speaker 3>that I'm supposed to be doing on Monday.
<v Speaker 2>But don't worry.
<v Speaker 3>We got Wega Man coming up now Wednesday evening gaming
<v Speaker 3>at Mike's at night. We'll play some of that new
<v Speaker 3>Dune game. So guilty about that. But then, like you know,
<v Speaker 3>having to pay extra Uber rides was annoying.
<v Speaker 2>Do you do you.
<v Speaker 4>Own a Sony Wega CRT?
<v Speaker 3>No. No, I'm a poser, I'm a fake.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, Mike, I will say, as as the chief content
<v Speaker 5>officer here at Giant Bomb, you do have permission to
<v Speaker 5>play Mega Man games.
<v Speaker 4>Since it's Wega.
<v Speaker 3>Man, that's okay, that's okay. I'm a product person. I
<v Speaker 3>think this might be more of a product and I
<v Speaker 3>think I think we're going to stick with Dune for
<v Speaker 3>for somebody points out a chat for some reason, I
<v Speaker 3>want to do a Saturday or Sunday stream and it's
<v Speaker 3>sega man that is dreamcast or Genesis stuff or Saturn
<v Speaker 3>or something.
<v Speaker 2>You know, Manati, Yes, you know how I feel about you.
<v Speaker 3>You love me.
<v Speaker 1>I don't have any conversation that starts that way.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not sure there's anything you could do that would
<v Speaker 2>make me not like you. I mean maybe there's something
<v Speaker 2>you could have said. I don't know, let's hearsay.
<v Speaker 3>Who knows.
<v Speaker 1>That is just like mysteriously gone from the record.
<v Speaker 2>Right like who knows what you've said behind closed. I'm
<v Speaker 2>sure there's still nothing that you could have ever have
<v Speaker 2>said for me to be upset with you. But that's true.
<v Speaker 2>So you know, look, I feel bad. I feel bad
<v Speaker 2>this happened to you. Uh it boggles the mind. I
<v Speaker 2>just don't get it. But uh, you know, what do
<v Speaker 2>you what have you learned from the experience? How are
<v Speaker 2>you gonna how are you gonna approach flight the next time?
<v Speaker 3>Because I want to say, like, I'm just gonna like
<v Speaker 3>double check a triple check. But I said that before
<v Speaker 3>because I've had is like this. It really was just
<v Speaker 3>like I got there. They said it was six pm,
<v Speaker 3>and I'm like, how can.
<v Speaker 6>That be.
<v Speaker 2>A three man?
<v Speaker 3>Man? I got up so early, you're back I got
<v Speaker 3>because I get to the airport early.
<v Speaker 2>Ye yeah, yeah, fel like I'm a flight Like those
<v Speaker 2>times are sort of seared into my brain a little
<v Speaker 2>bit in a way that yeah, you know, nothing seriously
<v Speaker 2>into my brain, but like flight times do.
<v Speaker 5>Like it's like that is one thing where it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I know exactly when I need to be there, and
<v Speaker 5>I'm checking that all the time.
<v Speaker 3>They should be in military time. I've decided military tip
<v Speaker 3>all right, Yeah, just to subtract twelve from the number
<v Speaker 3>if it's over twelve, and you'll get there. It's I
<v Speaker 3>felt so smart when I learned that trick.
<v Speaker 7>What's what's doing?
<v Speaker 2>Great?
<v Speaker 1>What's going on?
<v Speaker 7>I'm doing alright?
<v Speaker 6>Been' been looking for work for a long time now.
<v Speaker 6>Games industry is kind of a mess, but I got
<v Speaker 6>some tires in the fire there. I also finally started
<v Speaker 6>up a Patreon, like you funding them on an a of
<v Speaker 6>COFIs and Patreons and everything like that. I'm mostly just
<v Speaker 6>trying to write more because I've been bored out of
<v Speaker 6>my mind looking for work, like sending out resumes.
<v Speaker 7>Into the ether. But yeah, my wife and I have
<v Speaker 7>started up a podcast. I've been doing a lot of writing.
<v Speaker 7>I need to put some more stuff up there this
<v Speaker 7>week with that's patreon.
<v Speaker 6>Dot com slash Matthew Rory And if you're a fan
<v Speaker 6>of properly petting puppies, I'm bringing it back. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 6>put it down to the dollar tier, so just sign
<v Speaker 6>up for a dollar. I need to start doing more
<v Speaker 6>than those cause even it's imagine getting back into doing that
<v Speaker 6>voice after like five years of not doing it. It's
<v Speaker 6>really tough. It's like I don't know if I have
<v Speaker 6>that kind of gene in me anymore. But I meant
<v Speaker 6>to send you a dog picture for this weekend and
<v Speaker 6>put it in a little folder. But I've met the
<v Speaker 6>cutest dog. I've one of one of the cutest dogs
<v Speaker 6>I've ever met my entire life on this weekend.
<v Speaker 1>So, Rory is something I've always been curious about with dogs,
<v Speaker 1>right with you and dogs specifically, is there like a
<v Speaker 1>top tier breed of dog or do you non discriminate?
<v Speaker 1>Is it just like the vibes alone of the.
<v Speaker 7>Dog vibes alone. Usually like all dogs are pretty cute.
<v Speaker 6>I find it's the weird inverse for personality of like
<v Speaker 6>cuteness to health, Like you know, everybody thinks plugs and
<v Speaker 6>French ball dogs are adorable, but then they're just really
<v Speaker 6>unhealthy and probably shouldn't be around.
<v Speaker 7>And then I like big dogs to love. Pippoles are great.
<v Speaker 7>I love pippoles.
<v Speaker 4>What are your thoughts on King Charles Cavaliers.
<v Speaker 2>I love them.
<v Speaker 7>Oh, I love them, trust me, I've seen pictures of dog. Yeah,
<v Speaker 7>I would. I would totally be in there.
<v Speaker 6>It's like every time I see one I had a
<v Speaker 6>girlfriend one time. Maybe watch every episode of Sex and
<v Speaker 6>the City so all I can call at King Charles
<v Speaker 6>Cavalier is Elizabeth Taylor Goldblatt and nobody gets it except
<v Speaker 6>for like get in the background.
<v Speaker 2>That's a good one though.
<v Speaker 7>No, I love them all, and I should mention before
<v Speaker 7>we move on.
<v Speaker 6>I am doing this like twenty five episode blog series
<v Speaker 6>about my favorite author. Oh, that's gonna be free on
<v Speaker 6>the Patreon. I just loved this guy, nam Kim Stanley Robinson.
<v Speaker 6>I figured it'd give me a little structure to my
<v Speaker 6>week to actually be working on something.
<v Speaker 7>Week two weeks so.
<v Speaker 6>More streams were writing I've been I've been bored as hell,
<v Speaker 6>but thanks for having me on.
<v Speaker 7>I appreciate it. I'm always I'm available anytime.
<v Speaker 2>You guys much to go. You've talked about it. Where
<v Speaker 2>where do where do people? Dot com?
<v Speaker 6>Patreon dot com, slash Matthew Rory should be there the
<v Speaker 6>Rory round Up. If anybody remembers the Rory Roundup from
<v Speaker 6>two thousand and five, I'll be very impressed. But that
<v Speaker 6>was one of the first shows I did for game
<v Speaker 6>Spot back in the day, The Lovely Oh do you know?
<v Speaker 6>I forget Tino's last name? He went on to design.
<v Speaker 6>He did the motion graphics for that show. In two
<v Speaker 6>thousand and five. He went on to make the UI
<v Speaker 6>for the character in Dead Space with the back pops out.
<v Speaker 7>He did that UI.
<v Speaker 1>You do you know? Yes? Yes?
<v Speaker 3>Uh?
<v Speaker 1>Track on every single Filipino in the video industry. If
<v Speaker 1>you're out there, I already know what is?
<v Speaker 7>What does mean?
<v Speaker 1>Panoy is just like a Filipino? Okay, Matthew Rory?
<v Speaker 2>Uh?
<v Speaker 1>This is This has been circulating the website a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Where is the Philippines geographically located? Oh?
<v Speaker 7>That is definitely South Asia. I mean, if you want
<v Speaker 7>to get more.
<v Speaker 1>Set that, you're good.
<v Speaker 2>You sh the flying colors, not.
<v Speaker 7>Your graphic oriented.
<v Speaker 1>But would you say it's anywhere near the Caribbean?
<v Speaker 7>No, No, definitely Okay.
<v Speaker 5>I was reading about something in the Mediterranean like yesterday,
<v Speaker 5>and then I was like, is it Mediterranean or Caribbean?
<v Speaker 5>That's in like the Gulf of Mexico, Like I just Mediterranean?
<v Speaker 2>Is Europe?
<v Speaker 1>Yes?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, near Greece, near Greece and all those other places.
<v Speaker 7>The Philippines.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I don't know.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know to talk about the history of American
<v Speaker 6>American and colonialism, but we have.
<v Speaker 1>A no, let's go dog, Okay, Yeah, it.
<v Speaker 6>Was one of the first American really like, how would
<v Speaker 6>you call it? Jan like the only American colony we've
<v Speaker 6>ever had.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's it's like it's yeah, Puerto Rico adjacent. My
<v Speaker 1>boy Taft was governor there. Please, oh knows problematic.
<v Speaker 2>Glazing Taft again.
<v Speaker 1>It turns out all the presidents kind of are.
<v Speaker 2>But no way, look Dan three point zero, Rory, if
<v Speaker 2>you haven't been aware, Dan has entered a new stage
<v Speaker 2>of acceptance and tolerance and learning.
<v Speaker 5>And he's like, yeah, but no, it's it's about kind
<v Speaker 5>of like also not playing up as much when I
<v Speaker 5>don't know something, but also I need to be honest
<v Speaker 5>when I don't know something. That Mediterranean was just a
<v Speaker 5>thing that happened in my real off camera life where
<v Speaker 5>it's like that Caribbean or Mediterranean.
<v Speaker 7>Right, ask questions, ask questions when people get married.
<v Speaker 2>Me. No, not three point not three point Zeros is
<v Speaker 2>the thing. Here's the thing.
<v Speaker 5>I still don't know a lot of stuff. But I'm right.
<v Speaker 2>So that's fine. You're doing, you're doing, you're doing, You're
<v Speaker 2>doing fine.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not going to stifle your curiosity, Dan, I encourage it.
<v Speaker 5>I do know the Philippines thing I stuck in my head.
<v Speaker 5>I know it's not in the Gulf Mexico.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, who knows?
<v Speaker 2>You didn't. A few other things that I would like
<v Speaker 2>to have a take up space up there. I'm margin
<v Speaker 2>on it.
<v Speaker 5>I'm I'm defragging the old noggin up there.
<v Speaker 2>We're getting there.
<v Speaker 1>I missed back to School. That was the fun show
<v Speaker 1>to edits one of us. Maybe you could do it
<v Speaker 1>one off episode one time.
<v Speaker 2>Matt about.
<v Speaker 1>Matt, thank you President.
<v Speaker 4>I think he was a big apea. Yeah, yeah, well.
<v Speaker 6>Last pamp I'll say My podcast is called Why does
<v Speaker 6>This Make Me Cry? It's about watching a ship that
<v Speaker 6>makes me cry all the time and I can't figure
<v Speaker 6>it out. So my wife is now my therapist for
<v Speaker 6>this podcast. We got to do another one, but the
<v Speaker 6>first episode is about why I cry at Air Force
<v Speaker 6>One and that's the last.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's actually really interesting. Why do you think you cry?
<v Speaker 2>We go into it, dude.
<v Speaker 6>It's a half hour long podcast where I'm talking about it.
<v Speaker 6>You the one scene that I'm talking and I don't
<v Speaker 6>want to start this off with just me pipping stuff.
<v Speaker 2>That's yeah, I do go on.
<v Speaker 7>There is a scene in that.
<v Speaker 6>Movie I can do like basically the almost line by line,
<v Speaker 6>Like you know, air Force one is run out of
<v Speaker 6>chaff and they're getting this mischell shot on the Russian
<v Speaker 6>jets and this one guy Halo two says throughout of countermeasures,
<v Speaker 6>they're not going to make it. I'm going in and
<v Speaker 6>he just flies in there and blows himself up for
<v Speaker 6>somebody he's never met. He blows himself up for Air
<v Speaker 6>Force one like a secret Service agent taking a bullet,
<v Speaker 6>which is a great thing I remember now because that
<v Speaker 6>happens in the Line of Fire by Wolf Kang Peterson,
<v Speaker 6>same director, same little motion taking a bullet.
<v Speaker 2>For the president and that made you cry.
<v Speaker 6>It does every time, dude, I get choked up. Halo two,
<v Speaker 6>he goes out, he goes out like blaze a glory.
<v Speaker 7>It's beauty.
<v Speaker 2>So what so so what is it about? Is it
<v Speaker 2>that sacrifice?
<v Speaker 7>Noble sacrifice? For sure, you listen to the whole podcast.
<v Speaker 4>Did armagedon noble sacrifice?
<v Speaker 1>Oh?
<v Speaker 7>You know, maybe he did at the time.
<v Speaker 2>Randy Quaid and Independence that we talked about that one too.
<v Speaker 6>We have a whole list We're gonna make, like, hopefully
<v Speaker 6>a lot of these. So we have another one coming
<v Speaker 6>up this week. We got to figure out a topic
<v Speaker 6>for it. But it's fun. It's called Why Does This
<v Speaker 6>Make Me Cry? Available on all major podcast platforms.
<v Speaker 1>Awesome. Now, I love it thinking of the movies that
<v Speaker 1>made me cry.
<v Speaker 6>I think I have a whole list here Man, Whale Rider,
<v Speaker 6>Whale right, Whale Rider makes sense?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I'm more interested in the things that, like typically maybe
<v Speaker 2>would not make you cry, Like I don't know anyone
<v Speaker 2>who ever cried at the end of Air Force one.
<v Speaker 6>We've got a whole list of men. I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 6>spoil too many of them.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, I'm curious to hear one more. Okay, that's
<v Speaker 2>like one more weird one.
<v Speaker 7>Okay, let's see what we got here there.
<v Speaker 6>I was reading a book called, uh, Goddamn Lonesome, and
<v Speaker 6>it just hit me like, battleship battleship dude, at the
<v Speaker 6>end of all those military Yeah, when the guys off
<v Speaker 6>the board game, Yes, when all those World War two
<v Speaker 6>guys are coming out to start up the battles pretty good.
<v Speaker 6>It is a good moment.
<v Speaker 3>It's not Okay, I'm gonna shipped. They could stick this ship.
<v Speaker 1>No way, No, I'll get wait wait, wait the one
<v Speaker 1>with Rihanna.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yeah, uh.
<v Speaker 6>The speech the speech in Star Trek Next Generation where
<v Speaker 6>the tenant Commander Data has a correct lieutenant Wharf when
<v Speaker 6>Lieutenant Commander Data is acting captain and he comes to
<v Speaker 6>and he castigates them for being like disruptive, and then
<v Speaker 6>he says, I'm sorry if I've ended our friendship every time,
<v Speaker 6>that's great, And it's kind of sufar getting into why
<v Speaker 6>am I like this because I can't afford therapy unemployed?
<v Speaker 2>Did I?
<v Speaker 1>Maybe I should just do that? Maybe I should just
<v Speaker 1>start another podcast.
<v Speaker 2>We won't guess you want to be Rory's therapist is no, no.
<v Speaker 1>No, no, let's just like Daisy Chain this, like you
<v Speaker 1>know you'll want as Rory's therapist. Rory can be mine.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, we'll all be We'll all be worse off for
<v Speaker 6>it at the end, even more damaged.
<v Speaker 5>Hear about the time I thought a movie finally made
<v Speaker 5>me cry a couple of years ago. Yeah, yeah, so no, no, no,
<v Speaker 5>it was well it's it's stupid, believe it or not.
<v Speaker 5>But it was Creed three and like I've never cried
<v Speaker 5>during movie one caveat being at the end of that
<v Speaker 5>fast seventh thing when it was like an actual touching
<v Speaker 5>the music, I actually died.
<v Speaker 4>So that's the thing.
<v Speaker 5>Fiction doesn't make me cry, and so like the real
<v Speaker 5>life circumstances cry. But anyway, fiction I think might have
<v Speaker 5>almost made me cry from excitement at the end of
<v Speaker 5>Creed three because I was very high and it was
<v Speaker 5>getting ready for the big fight against the Diamond Dame
<v Speaker 5>and he was coming out in the music and I
<v Speaker 5>was like, I'm so ready for this fight. But I
<v Speaker 5>thought my eyes were watering, and then I realized I
<v Speaker 5>had just been eating like buffalo wings and I had
<v Speaker 5>been rubbing my eyes, and so I did have this
<v Speaker 5>moment of being really high and then suddenly being really
<v Speaker 5>aware of my eyes being wet.
<v Speaker 2>Wait, am I.
<v Speaker 5>Crying during a movie for the first time? Or did
<v Speaker 5>you just get buffalo sauce?
<v Speaker 2>You fucking trap setting motherfucker? What you just It's just
<v Speaker 2>three steps forward, two steps back, man.
<v Speaker 4>Though, I think that that could have been shoot tear Dude.
<v Speaker 7>I got overwhelmed too, like I just got.
<v Speaker 6>Sometimes it's flooded with emotion and it's just like it's
<v Speaker 6>too much, and that's.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, yeah, yeah, this is about video games, right.
<v Speaker 3>I am real quick. I hate to bring things back
<v Speaker 3>to Taft. Okay, every time that came up, all chat
<v Speaker 3>Everton was that's the guy he got stuck in the bathtub,
<v Speaker 3>and that story is just not true. He was a
<v Speaker 3>big guy, but William Howard Taft never was stuck in
<v Speaker 3>a bathtub. Stop spreading that mass lie. It's a lie, Jeff.
<v Speaker 3>The truth matters.
<v Speaker 2>Sometimes, I think, Uh, I think what we've learned is
<v Speaker 2>that wrestling could probably make you cry as well. Well.
<v Speaker 5>Con No, So here's the thing, and it has, but
<v Speaker 5>again with the caveat that it's it's never the storyline.
<v Speaker 5>It's always the real circumstances, Like I have guys have
<v Speaker 5>had to retire young because they got injured, and that's
<v Speaker 5>a real moment. And so it's like, it's not like
<v Speaker 5>I didn't cry when you know, Cody finished the story,
<v Speaker 5>you know, when he beat Roman reigns a scripted outcome
<v Speaker 5>or whatever. I cry when like someone has to, like
<v Speaker 5>like Daniel Bryan has to sit in the ring and
<v Speaker 5>and talk about how you can't wrestle anymore because his.
<v Speaker 2>Neck is fucked. Yeah, that's again.
<v Speaker 5>Deaths and stuff like that will will absolutely get me
<v Speaker 5>a Letterman retiring. I cried when Letterman retired, you know,
<v Speaker 5>like that type of thing.
<v Speaker 2>Sure a good goal to reach before the end of
<v Speaker 2>the year. I would love for you to cry at fiction,
<v Speaker 2>But can that.
<v Speaker 5>Be a taught thing, Like I mean, I'm not I'm
<v Speaker 5>super not against it, and I'm.
<v Speaker 7>Not for sure. This watch of the stuff on my list,
<v Speaker 7>and you should watch it. Show him, well Rider, if
<v Speaker 7>you don't cry at that speech, and well Wrider, you're
<v Speaker 7>not a human being.
<v Speaker 2>I believe En Hanson.
<v Speaker 5>I remember yelling at me because I said iron Claw
<v Speaker 5>didn't like make me sad.
<v Speaker 4>It's like, but that's true.
<v Speaker 2>Isn't that a true story?
<v Speaker 1>It is?
<v Speaker 4>But I knew the story. I knew it was gonna
<v Speaker 4>go bad.
<v Speaker 5>And it's like, like, it's a sad story in real life,
<v Speaker 5>But I didn't like cry or feeling.
<v Speaker 2>You still can't believe people chose to make that movie. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I want you to cry at fiction.
<v Speaker 4>And I'm again not against it. I would embrace it.
<v Speaker 2>I just don't called empathy when you when you talk
<v Speaker 2>like you don't have empathy, you sound like a psychopath.
<v Speaker 4>But can you can I learn? Is that a steel
<v Speaker 4>that can be learned?
<v Speaker 2>It's living your life on the world.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, look in real life stuff, I have that like
<v Speaker 5>when tragic things happen in your life.
<v Speaker 4>I don't think it's a.
<v Speaker 3>Huge problem like that.
<v Speaker 1>You don't.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know it's troubling.
<v Speaker 3>You have a bit more of a window between fiction
<v Speaker 3>than other people. And that's fine, right, It's okay. I
<v Speaker 3>mean this is someone to get weird. But this goes
<v Speaker 3>to the whole Like you've never been attracted to a
<v Speaker 3>cartoon character, sure.
<v Speaker 2>Well, where they don't exist. I think here, here's what
<v Speaker 2>I think that there's something going on right, and this
<v Speaker 2>isn't bad. I'm not like criticizing you, but maybe an
<v Speaker 2>explanation of why you're unable to have empathy for fiction
<v Speaker 2>or to relate to characters on the screen is perhaps
<v Speaker 2>you repressing something in your own life where you've like
<v Speaker 2>not allowed yourself to feel things for like other people.
<v Speaker 5>Or perhaps absolutely it's just when I know it's fiction.
<v Speaker 2>It's like if.
<v Speaker 5>Modern mortal combat fatalities that are so gruesome and everything,
<v Speaker 5>I just think they're hilarious. If I see violence, I
<v Speaker 5>am mortified and turned white.
<v Speaker 2>You know, like, we'll get there, We'll get there, We'll
<v Speaker 2>get there.
<v Speaker 7>I feel like I've got as far off track.
<v Speaker 1>Video games. Someone mentioned a video games so I guess
<v Speaker 1>now we're a legally obligated to start talking about video
<v Speaker 1>games on this podcast. We gotta. I haven't been able
<v Speaker 1>to play too many things because of the move You notice,
<v Speaker 1>for those watching the video, it's Cardibal mes Burke here. Yo.
<v Speaker 1>The movers I was able to hire were probably the
<v Speaker 1>three most uh unique individuals in the world.
<v Speaker 2>Damn lucky.
<v Speaker 3>I also thought they were the three stooges. Damn gup
<v Speaker 3>be like it was one of them curlyer, the other
<v Speaker 3>one had the kind of both.
<v Speaker 1>One of them did have a bowl cut though.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, it was mo It sounded just like
<v Speaker 2>Dan on the on the rematch.
<v Speaker 1>But it was so funny because like one of them
<v Speaker 1>like looked like he was trying to be too handsome
<v Speaker 1>because he was wearing a dress shirt and a leather
<v Speaker 1>jacket the whole time he was moving stuff and then
<v Speaker 1>looking cool. And I'm just thinking, bro, like, you have
<v Speaker 1>no one to impress here, Like I'm already impressed that
<v Speaker 1>you're doing all this. Please do you need a shirt
<v Speaker 1>to change into? I will give you a shirt.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>And then he just like after the day is done,
<v Speaker 1>he comes to me because like I have like a
<v Speaker 1>husky tool chest here that's just full of stationary and
<v Speaker 1>he just like looks at me. He's he's like super
<v Speaker 1>duper Russian, and he goes like, uh, my friend, I have.
<v Speaker 2>One question for you.
<v Speaker 1>Why the toolbooks?
<v Speaker 2>What are you doing there?
<v Speaker 1>And I'm like, oh, it's it's just full of post
<v Speaker 1>it notes and and fun pens and cables, no tools,
<v Speaker 1>no tools? Interesting, Okay, do that you know you can
<v Speaker 1>put other stuff. It was great. It was great. And
<v Speaker 1>then like the head mover guy was just trying to
<v Speaker 1>drop knowledge darts all over the place. But he was
<v Speaker 1>one of those like big dudes that like, uh, he
<v Speaker 1>sent his like two other mover dudes to like do
<v Speaker 1>do some hard stuff. And then he pulls out like
<v Speaker 1>one of those heavy weight lifting belts out of his backpack,
<v Speaker 1>and he like floor like I don't know how to
<v Speaker 1>describe it, but it's like he was putting on a
<v Speaker 1>cape dramatically. But then he just like tucked it around
<v Speaker 1>his like tummy, and then one of those cody belts,
<v Speaker 1>one of those like cody belts, yeah, to help him
<v Speaker 1>like lift the heavy things. And then he was just
<v Speaker 1>saying the whole time. He'd go up and down and
<v Speaker 1>like he would keep talking as he'd go down the
<v Speaker 1>hallway of like you should be happy of the things
<v Speaker 1>that you have here. I'm proud. This is a good place.
<v Speaker 3>I'm proud.
<v Speaker 1>Like Okay, thanks man, all right.
<v Speaker 2>Those guys are monsters.
<v Speaker 1>Man.
<v Speaker 2>They do a lot of stuff on their back like
<v Speaker 2>with like rope. No, they.
<v Speaker 1>Exact, Mike, I was getting there. They were. They did
<v Speaker 1>the thing where they had like the big boxes and
<v Speaker 1>they'd put the small boxes in the other boxes. It
<v Speaker 1>was great, very good pack jobs. I highly recommend if
<v Speaker 1>you're moving stuff across the country, perhaps you shouldn't just
<v Speaker 1>throw it all on one guy's back. But in Death
<v Speaker 1>Stranding two they continue to do that. And Dan reichert,
<v Speaker 1>you have finished Death Stranding two.
<v Speaker 5>I did, and I'm gonna be careful because you know,
<v Speaker 5>people don't like hearing specifics, and I'm not gonna say
<v Speaker 5>specifics here. I'm just gonna say, what's that, Beckler?
<v Speaker 3>I don't think you Oh, people, people are mad at
<v Speaker 3>Dan for his very minor in fresh thank you say?
<v Speaker 5>Oh yeah, people say I'm on board everything I've said
<v Speaker 5>previously about loving this game, and everything holds true, maybe
<v Speaker 5>more so now because I really think the last three
<v Speaker 5>to four hours of that game are the most Headayo
<v Speaker 5>Kajima things I've ever seen in my life. And I'm
<v Speaker 5>you know, people, oh, what about the end of the Middle
<v Speaker 5>Year Solid two?
<v Speaker 4>Way wilder than that.
<v Speaker 5>I don't think anything rates even remotely to the end
<v Speaker 5>of a Death Straining two, And I'm not gonna go
<v Speaker 5>into specifics. I'm just gonna say it was several hours
<v Speaker 5>of me just being like smiling or laughing or just
<v Speaker 5>jaw open, just like, what are we doing? Folks like
<v Speaker 5>it is fucking great.
<v Speaker 4>What's that?
<v Speaker 1>Is it?
<v Speaker 7>Mostly cutscene?
<v Speaker 5>There is a part where the puppet tells you, like, hey, Sam,
<v Speaker 5>just so you know, there's gonna be a long cut
<v Speaker 5>scene coming out, which I love in Kagema games when
<v Speaker 5>they just straight up say like hey, press the circle button. Yeah, exactly,
<v Speaker 5>like the puppet is just like, dude, it's gonna be
<v Speaker 5>a long one. And there's a decent amount of gameplay
<v Speaker 5>after he says that, but there is a long cut
<v Speaker 5>scene after that. I don't think there's anything that's like
<v Speaker 5>three hours of straight up cutscene or even anything on
<v Speaker 5>the level of like the end of MGS four, But
<v Speaker 5>you know it's broken up by bits of gameplay, but uh,
<v Speaker 5>it really goes places.
<v Speaker 3>I guess I'm curious then, you know, like with the
<v Speaker 3>story and just the game, do you think there's room
<v Speaker 3>for it? Do you think you want a death straining
<v Speaker 3>three or you think you know he's gonna move on?
<v Speaker 3>You want to see him move on more.
<v Speaker 1>Of this world.
<v Speaker 5>You know, he did that interview in GQ recently where
<v Speaker 5>he talked about like he really has to think about
<v Speaker 5>how many more games he has in him because he's
<v Speaker 5>all take three or four years now, and you know,
<v Speaker 5>he's a certain age and everything, and he has to
<v Speaker 5>really consider every project, and like considering there's OD and
<v Speaker 5>Phisiant that have already been announced, it's like, oh, right,
<v Speaker 5>I don't know if there's room for Like it does
<v Speaker 5>leave things in a way where it's like there's an
<v Speaker 5>interesting angle for a sequel or a third one, but
<v Speaker 5>I don't know as of right now. OD and Phisiant
<v Speaker 5>both seem far enough away to where it's like I'm
<v Speaker 5>just fine with those being the next ones, you know,
<v Speaker 5>and those both being new things is very very intriguing
<v Speaker 5>to me.
<v Speaker 1>You know, I haven't gone the chance to dip back
<v Speaker 1>into death straining too, but I absolutely adore this Garay. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and like it's such a way where like I not
<v Speaker 1>that I feel like I'm immune to Kojima's bullshit. I
<v Speaker 1>think before I replayed MGS five maybe two years ago,
<v Speaker 1>and then I after replaying it, I was like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>I think I get everything now. MGS five. I regret
<v Speaker 1>leaving that off of my like top ten of the century,
<v Speaker 1>but holy smokes, he's going for stuff here and then
<v Speaker 1>rediscovering Destraating one and now playing through Destraating two. With
<v Speaker 1>like the lens that I have. It is just insane bullshit.
<v Speaker 1>And I think Kochiba is one of those people that
<v Speaker 1>revels in the fact that he probably has some vision.
<v Speaker 1>Of course, he has a vision for the story that
<v Speaker 1>he's telling and the means that he's telling it, but
<v Speaker 1>he probably revels off of the fact that there are
<v Speaker 1>so many people pulling a different strings of like, no,
<v Speaker 1>this is what this means, that's what that means, this
<v Speaker 1>is what this is. But like the gameplay, it it's
<v Speaker 1>just something so meditative to kind of just zone out
<v Speaker 1>and walk. I saw a video of someone traversing the
<v Speaker 1>environment and that death training too. And I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to spoil anything, but Dan, you talked about the the
<v Speaker 1>coffin thing. Yeah, I love the coffin skateboard thing. I
<v Speaker 1>saw someone using that in conjunction with another item that
<v Speaker 1>you get in the game UH, and they were kind
<v Speaker 1>of just flying kind of.
<v Speaker 4>What I'm very curious about this.
<v Speaker 1>They were there obviously like breaking the game in in
<v Speaker 1>uh based off of using the two items in conjunction,
<v Speaker 1>but it was like, how are you doing this? And
<v Speaker 1>I don't know if Kajima intended it, but it is
<v Speaker 1>great that it is these two items, the metal coffin
<v Speaker 1>and then the other thing where this person is just flying.
<v Speaker 5>I mean that reminds me of like, you know, when
<v Speaker 5>Breath the Wild came out, and just like people were
<v Speaker 5>figuring out ways like let's use stasis and stand on
<v Speaker 5>a tree and fly across them.
<v Speaker 4>Like I love that shit. Like I think Breath the
<v Speaker 4>Wild is probably like the.
<v Speaker 5>Ultimate with that stuff, or here's the Kingdom too, But
<v Speaker 5>like the fact that some of that exists and Death
<v Speaker 5>Straining two is awesome, and you know, I'm done with
<v Speaker 5>it now. Bianca has been working on so I've been
<v Speaker 5>watching her and talking to her about it, and it's
<v Speaker 5>just there's different ways you can approach it. Like you know,
<v Speaker 5>with me, I would find random stuff on hills and
<v Speaker 5>stuff and I would just oh and trust cargo. What
<v Speaker 5>I'll get a few likes, somebody will take that or whatever.
<v Speaker 5>She is spending hours and hours every night just everything
<v Speaker 5>she finds. She is delivering everything she told me last night,
<v Speaker 5>She's like, it doesn't matter how far it is, I'm
<v Speaker 5>gonna get my likes, I'm gonna get my stars. She
<v Speaker 5>could leave Mexico any moment, and she's like I'm staying
<v Speaker 5>in Mexico until I have five stars with everything, and
<v Speaker 5>it's I don't know, there's something meditative and very very
<v Speaker 5>satisfying about that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I am curious for grub to get into it,
<v Speaker 1>because there's aspects of death Straining two that I feel
<v Speaker 1>like is right up is Ali in terms of like
<v Speaker 1>driving and like the mud and and just like traversal
<v Speaker 1>Jesus Christ. For folks that are skeptical over death Straining
<v Speaker 1>two and may have had their reservations over Deathtraining one,
<v Speaker 1>Mike Noddy may be included, just give it. Just give
<v Speaker 1>it a shot, because it's a it's something else and Dan,
<v Speaker 1>I would love maybe next week if I can power
<v Speaker 1>through it to do some.
<v Speaker 5>Type of the spoiler cast, I'd beat it, and like
<v Speaker 5>I don't even know where I would start. It really
<v Speaker 5>reminds me of when I beat Meddle Year Solid two
<v Speaker 5>and it's like, boy, I don't know if I'd be
<v Speaker 5>able to explain this, Like now I think I can
<v Speaker 5>do it, but like you know, in two thousand and one,
<v Speaker 5>I don't think I under none of that was getting
<v Speaker 5>through the head.
<v Speaker 6>There the same way though it was just you had
<v Speaker 6>the same kind of like the last four hours, like
<v Speaker 6>the rest of the game, it's like you can kind
<v Speaker 6>of get it. The villains are over the top and
<v Speaker 6>anything like that. But then you're fighting the president on
<v Speaker 6>a fucking harrier and I'm glad he has the ability
<v Speaker 6>to stick the landing in some way.
<v Speaker 5>Well, and this is I honestly, I think the way
<v Speaker 5>they do this ending is better than MGS two's ending, because, like,
<v Speaker 5>I love what they're saying and doing with the end
<v Speaker 5>of MGS two, But the format is a lot of
<v Speaker 5>greenheads talking to each other, you know, it's a lot
<v Speaker 5>of that is like a lot of just like put
<v Speaker 5>it this way, I was taking a lot of screenshots
<v Speaker 5>on my PS five during those last few hours, like
<v Speaker 5>there is shit to look at in the last few
<v Speaker 5>hours here that you would not possibly predict.
<v Speaker 1>You highlighted this in the Quick Look Dan, and I
<v Speaker 1>didn't realize this when I was playing in my time
<v Speaker 1>with a game. But if you fail at a boss
<v Speaker 1>fight or encounter, you could just select the option pretend
<v Speaker 1>I want.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, pretend you want, Like, all right, just move on
<v Speaker 4>to the cut.
<v Speaker 3>That's cool.
<v Speaker 7>I like it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, So so that is pretty sick. You know.
<v Speaker 1>There are times with the original Death Stranding where I
<v Speaker 1>kind of feel like it was a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>a slog with some enemy encounters and I wish I
<v Speaker 1>could have just skipped it. But it's just hilarious to
<v Speaker 1>see that option.
<v Speaker 5>But there's also like way more varied boss fights in
<v Speaker 5>this one. I think, like you know, in DS one,
<v Speaker 5>there was a lot more of just like there's tar
<v Speaker 5>everywhere and there's a goofy thing that's mad at you,
<v Speaker 5>and like there's there's a few of those here, but
<v Speaker 5>there's deff only some variety for sure that I appreciated.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and uh, you know, the first game was pretty lonely,
<v Speaker 1>like a super isolated experience, and folks know me at
<v Speaker 1>this point, but like, I love a gang. I love
<v Speaker 1>having a motley crew to run around with. And the
<v Speaker 1>fact that Kachiba has convinced some top of the line
<v Speaker 1>actors to just like lend their likeness and just hang
<v Speaker 1>out in this weird ship is pretty pretty frickin' awesome.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, and they're game for it.
<v Speaker 5>Like I love seeing all these interviews and stuff where
<v Speaker 5>like Norman Rita is describing what it's like, you know,
<v Speaker 5>to to work with Kajima, and he's like yeah, Kajima
<v Speaker 5>will be like, you hold the baby and then you
<v Speaker 5>cry and be like what am I crying about?
<v Speaker 4>And Kajima will be like, well, you know the.
<v Speaker 5>Strand and you know the you know the world, and
<v Speaker 5>this guy okay, I guess like the Strand?
<v Speaker 7>Of course, don't you know about this game?
<v Speaker 6>Is like how because I've been watching a few Terrence
<v Speaker 6>Malick movies and he's you did like The Thin Red
<v Speaker 6>Line and you did you know The New World and
<v Speaker 6>Treeabli and things like that, and every movie he makes
<v Speaker 6>sometimes has some actor coming out. For the New World
<v Speaker 6>it was Chrisopher Plumber and for Tree of Life it
<v Speaker 6>was Sean Penn. They said they shot like three movies
<v Speaker 6>worth of Seanpen and he's in it for like five minutes.
<v Speaker 6>He's apparently always pissed off. I'm curious, Like, I know,
<v Speaker 6>Death Stranding is probably way more intense kind of pipe
<v Speaker 6>production pipeline than a movie is, especially with Malach just
<v Speaker 6>going off through his own thing. But I'm curious if
<v Speaker 6>that I'll leave anybody on the cutting.
<v Speaker 7>Floor like or there was a big part. Yeah, I'm curious.
<v Speaker 6>I know most of these are kind of cameos unless
<v Speaker 6>you're part of the main cast, but I'm just curious
<v Speaker 6>if everybody just didn't work out.
<v Speaker 3>There are there are.
<v Speaker 5>Without saying specifics, there are characters that wind up being
<v Speaker 5>bigger deals than I thought they would be Throughout parts
<v Speaker 5>of this game that I thought was like, okay, is
<v Speaker 5>this is a name, this is this is a fun
<v Speaker 5>cameo thing. But it's like, Okay, actually this is more
<v Speaker 5>important than okay.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>So I think I think utilized everyone in a really
<v Speaker 5>great way. And obviously there're ones like George Miller and
<v Speaker 5>stuff that's just a likeness in the same way year
<v Speaker 5>in WD del Toro where it's like they're not doing mokeap,
<v Speaker 5>they're not doing the Boys or anything, but like it is,
<v Speaker 5>we'll just be like, that's Gerymad del Toro. That's the
<v Speaker 5>director of Drive, you know.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>For uh, For as much as I'm enjoying guest Straining two,
<v Speaker 1>I can't help but have that like itch inside of
<v Speaker 1>me of like I wonder what the director's cut is
<v Speaker 1>gonna look like or be like, because it feels like
<v Speaker 1>Kojima was more sure of himself and the team had
<v Speaker 1>figured things out more of like how to formulate death
<v Speaker 1>Stranding two versus the original where it's like, Okay, here's
<v Speaker 1>all this stuff here, we can see to the weird
<v Speaker 1>things in the first one. Here's a gun if you
<v Speaker 1>want to just shoot things, there you go.
<v Speaker 5>That's a huge part of why this one, I think
<v Speaker 5>is so much more playable for someone like me. You know,
<v Speaker 5>it's like I think, you know again, watching Bianca play
<v Speaker 5>and like she's very stealthy and she's walked out. She's
<v Speaker 5>taking everyone out with the strand and all that stuff,
<v Speaker 5>and I'm like, oh boy, I'm approaching these like Fantom Pain.
<v Speaker 4>You know, I'm going in there.
<v Speaker 5>Maybe I'll make a watch tower, maybe I'll throw a
<v Speaker 5>doll man up to scope things out.
<v Speaker 4>But then I'm going in with.
<v Speaker 5>An assult rival, with an underbarrel grenade launcher, a trank
<v Speaker 5>grenade launcher. So it's, you know, it's healthy.
<v Speaker 1>That makes me like, Mike, you were so doll man coded.
<v Speaker 3>Though I know I'm going to try the game, right,
<v Speaker 3>I hope everyone knows I've dialed back the fuddy dysis
<v Speaker 3>the game actually came out, because I haven't played yet,
<v Speaker 3>so I don't know. I will get there, I'll give
<v Speaker 3>it a go, and I will give everyone a report
<v Speaker 3>on what I actually think about it.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, there's a particular ten second clip that I clipped
<v Speaker 5>from my PlayStation thing and I've been texting to friends
<v Speaker 5>that I know have beaten it, and it is just like,
<v Speaker 5>it's kind of the moment near the end of where
<v Speaker 5>it's like, okay, we're just going all the way here.
<v Speaker 4>Here's a very This won't make any.
<v Speaker 5>Sense out of context, but anyone who's beaten it, it's
<v Speaker 5>the part where it made me think of James Brown.
<v Speaker 5>That's when it was just like, oh, okay, we're off
<v Speaker 5>the rails, let's do it. There's a good god people
<v Speaker 5>would be it will know. I don't want to say
<v Speaker 5>much more, but it's a very James b oh.
<v Speaker 1>That just motivated me to get to just fast track everything.
<v Speaker 5>Billion guesses you wouldn't guess in what context the James
<v Speaker 5>Brown thing comes up.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, Okay, you know there's there's plenty of tar still
<v Speaker 1>in Death Stranding two, and it looks like a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of paint or ink on the floor and walls, which
<v Speaker 1>is appropriate because Mike Manatti, you have been playing Splatoon two.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm actually just still playing through Splatoon single player campaigns.
<v Speaker 3>It's actually been my main switch to experience right now,
<v Speaker 3>because plasuon three had a big update to like look
<v Speaker 3>a lot better on the switch to. I think Splatoon
<v Speaker 3>two quite as that, but it's still a good looking game.
<v Speaker 3>But I know these are just kind of cozy and
<v Speaker 3>fun and simple. It's what's weird. This Platoon two campaign
<v Speaker 3>definitely not quite as good as three. The levels are
<v Speaker 3>a lot longer and more straightforward. I basically I'm playing
<v Speaker 3>this so that I can then go to do this
<v Speaker 3>Platoon two expansion, the Octox match, which I hear is
<v Speaker 3>maybe the best of them. Yeah, then I could go
<v Speaker 3>try the side order for Splatoon three. Yes, it's basically
<v Speaker 3>just my killing time to Bonanza And I don't know
<v Speaker 3>if you guys seen like there's metal people doing previews, yeah.
<v Speaker 5>And glowing, glowing, they're evoking the stuff you want to hear.
<v Speaker 5>But you want to hear Mario wattas, do you want
<v Speaker 5>to hear Red Faction Gorilla? That's the stuff people are
<v Speaker 5>Red Faction?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. I saw I saw to like a two D
<v Speaker 3>section that just looked like Donkey Kong Country and they're
<v Speaker 3>just playing the music. Yes, that's cool, they're just playing
<v Speaker 3>the music. They're playing my favorite song from two, the
<v Speaker 3>uh gosh and a Sticker Bush Symphony, and I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>let's go. I'm gonna play the Heil out of this. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>so you know, but maybe meanwhile, I I enjoy being
<v Speaker 3>in the Platoon solo campaign waiting room.
<v Speaker 5>I think I did the two Platoon two single player
<v Speaker 5>stuff and thought it was really good. So that is
<v Speaker 5>on my short list of things. And like, you know,
<v Speaker 5>I'm just looking for play on the Switch too right now.
<v Speaker 5>So that's that's on the shortlist for sure. I'm glad
<v Speaker 5>to hear it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Okay, it's fine, it's fun. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about shortlist this, I feel like due to a couple,
<v Speaker 1>not a couple, but like, uh, maybe a couple of
<v Speaker 1>years ago, I may have willed this game into existence.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>I have briefly checked out Persona five the Phantom X. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>This is the gotcha Persona and mobile games blow my
<v Speaker 1>mind or games that are designed for mobile just because
<v Speaker 1>I know that gen should impact and gosh, what are
<v Speaker 1>the other means?
<v Speaker 7>Contail Skyrail, hon Kai.
<v Speaker 3>Star Rail, Star Rail and the newer ones Endless zero.
<v Speaker 3>That's right, Endless Zone zero. All disease are here.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, oh, these are full ass games. Like if
<v Speaker 1>I was not in this profession and I kind of
<v Speaker 1>just wanted like a flavor of a j RPG or
<v Speaker 1>like a hack and slash game, I could totally uh
<v Speaker 1>explore that in these these games. And in the brief
<v Speaker 1>time that are spent with Persona five the Phantom X,
<v Speaker 1>it does feel a little funky that it's like a
<v Speaker 1>supposed to be a grand sweeping Persona like story, but
<v Speaker 1>it still has gotcha elements. But in the time I've
<v Speaker 1>spent with it, I just keep thinking, Oh, this is
<v Speaker 1>just this is just a Persona game. How are they
<v Speaker 1>gonna make money off of this? That's how they got you, exactly,
<v Speaker 1>Matthew Rory. That's how they got you. And I've so
<v Speaker 1>far been not tempted to spin to win, but I
<v Speaker 1>do want to do a quick look for this this week.
<v Speaker 6>I do believe, if I'm not mistaken, that that game
<v Speaker 6>immediately went to like the top ten grossing games mobile
<v Speaker 6>games of like of the current moment. I think it
<v Speaker 6>immediately became like a billion dollar kind of revenue stream farm.
<v Speaker 6>So I could be playing that entirely out of my ass,
<v Speaker 6>but I think I saw that somewhere recently. No people
<v Speaker 6>are going to say I mean, I enjoyed a little
<v Speaker 6>of Ginchen that I played. My big problem with it
<v Speaker 6>was A and B would switched around and I couldn't
<v Speaker 6>get over that until they patch that through, and by
<v Speaker 6>that time it had already been out for a few months.
<v Speaker 6>But they seem like very high quality games for free
<v Speaker 6>if you don't want to worry about like getting your
<v Speaker 6>team super organized or anything like that.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it makes me wonder what, like how our at
<v Speaker 1>lists divided the development team if they had like a
<v Speaker 1>smaller team working on this, or this was one of
<v Speaker 1>their bigger teams. If folks are looking for another gotcha game,
<v Speaker 1>I found another one that had been playing. I didn't
<v Speaker 1>put this on the run of show, but Ricci City
<v Speaker 1>is another Gotcha mong, Gotcha Majong game. And yeah, if
<v Speaker 1>if Mike didnner a take over the Monday mornings or
<v Speaker 1>the Monday evenings, we would have had Monday Morning Majong
<v Speaker 1>with Jan So we're safe for now speaking about jerrpgs,
<v Speaker 1>this is the most exciting development folks. I tuned in
<v Speaker 1>for this whole stream. I've been seeing the Blue Sky updates.
<v Speaker 1>Dan Reiker, you have been playing and enjoying Claire Obscure
<v Speaker 1>Expedition thirty three.
<v Speaker 5>I am excited to tell the internet about this game
<v Speaker 5>I found. Did you know that turn based RPGs can
<v Speaker 5>be very, very fun?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah? I've heard.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's really really good.
<v Speaker 2>I can't believe I beat you to the punch on
<v Speaker 2>this one. I never do. So you've been playing it, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I'm like almost dumb with it?
<v Speaker 4>Oh shit, okay, yeah it's uh.
<v Speaker 5>Look, it was something like I feel like enough people
<v Speaker 5>through Osmosis. I've just like people have been like very
<v Speaker 5>positive on it. It's like, oh, Dan, if there's ever
<v Speaker 5>one you're gonna like, it's this one. Because I like
<v Speaker 5>Martin Luigi, like Paper Mario, you know Mario all that stuff. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>they're right, this is I like the story, I like
<v Speaker 5>the style, I like the combat. I like every I
<v Speaker 5>like the running around. I like the cool overworld where
<v Speaker 5>it's almost like tilt ship guys running around. If I
<v Speaker 5>can turn into a big fat guy that can run
<v Speaker 5>over rocks. I like every single thing. But I think
<v Speaker 5>I started it up and I immediately like kind of
<v Speaker 5>the setup and the story and everything, and then my
<v Speaker 5>first fight was like I knew this game was very French.
<v Speaker 5>But then a fucking mine fights me first mine and
<v Speaker 5>then when I saw the animation of him like building
<v Speaker 5>the like wall up, Oh that looks really that's cool,
<v Speaker 5>Like this game's got a cool style to it, and
<v Speaker 5>that's killed this to get out of me. Actually I've
<v Speaker 5>run into two mimes in this game.
<v Speaker 4>Out of it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but yeah, on.
<v Speaker 5>The stream I would with the VODs up on on
<v Speaker 5>the YouTube page, there was a boss I ran into there,
<v Speaker 5>uh and it whooped my ass the first time, to
<v Speaker 5>the point where it's like, man, I'm gon have to
<v Speaker 5>grind for a while here, and I think I maybe
<v Speaker 5>got one level up and I went back and I
<v Speaker 5>was like, ooh, actually, okay, I found a new way
<v Speaker 5>to kind of approach this and that's working a little better.
<v Speaker 5>And on the third time I beat them, and that
<v Speaker 5>is like that's an ideal you know, progression there, it's like, whoop,
<v Speaker 5>my ass learned a little bit beat them.
<v Speaker 3>It's so cool because like, yeah, you don't necessarily need
<v Speaker 3>to just grind little. It's not just a stats game
<v Speaker 3>because there's so much customization you do with the pictos
<v Speaker 3>and things like that, but so much of it is
<v Speaker 3>you could just proof force it if you get really
<v Speaker 3>good with the Perrys and the Dodges.
<v Speaker 5>And there's so much to learn, like everybody having their
<v Speaker 5>own systems here where it's like, okay, so I'm really
<v Speaker 5>learning that, Like with my l I want to do
<v Speaker 5>the virtuo stance that has so much fucking damage. Then
<v Speaker 5>I'm realizing like, okay, well if I use this person
<v Speaker 5>to mark them and then I'm using virtuos and then
<v Speaker 5>I'm doing shit, ten damage does not cost them much
<v Speaker 5>ap And now I've got cl in cl awesome, got
<v Speaker 5>that crazy scythe stuff and everything, and I'm like trying
<v Speaker 5>to wrap my head around like Okay, I'm certain to
<v Speaker 5>understand like the Foretel like load them up with Foretel
<v Speaker 5>and then consume it. But then it's like, okay, I
<v Speaker 5>gotta figure out the sun phase and moonface stuff and
<v Speaker 5>how to trigger twilight phase and utilize that. Like there's
<v Speaker 5>a lot of just systems that you're learning, and then
<v Speaker 5>you figure once you've learned them, it's like, well, now
<v Speaker 5>how does this playoff of this? And how am I
<v Speaker 5>gonna like And then when it all clicks, it's just
<v Speaker 5>like holy shit, it is so satisfying. I'm into every
<v Speaker 5>cut scene I am into where the story is going.
<v Speaker 5>Characters are fantastic, this growth, the counters.
<v Speaker 3>Here's the thing.
<v Speaker 5>I will never fucking dodge in this game. I will
<v Speaker 5>not die. Oh, dodge and then you'll learn the timing. No, no, no,
<v Speaker 5>I'm learning. I'm fucking parrying every fucking thing. And if
<v Speaker 5>I fail, that's fine. I'm gonna go back there and
<v Speaker 5>I'm know the timing a little better the next time.
<v Speaker 5>And if you get the bing bing bing that that
<v Speaker 5>parry and you do the everyone goes out there and
<v Speaker 5>hits it and takes a shield down or something. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's just like I'm so fucking hyped about it.
<v Speaker 2>Aren't There certain things you have to dodge.
<v Speaker 4>I will Okay, the one thing, I will die.
<v Speaker 5>Just sometimes you'll kill one of those those big fuckers
<v Speaker 5>and they'll like the fall on you.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, look he's already dead.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not gonna lie.
<v Speaker 2>I got right, But the power can give you an
<v Speaker 2>ap point.
<v Speaker 3>But if the guy's gonna drop on you.
<v Speaker 2>Right well, or he dies right either right. Yeah, this
<v Speaker 2>is great. I'm happy to hear it. I I mean,
<v Speaker 2>even for me, where I only have like a very
<v Speaker 2>surface uh comprehension of like all of their systems, where
<v Speaker 2>like the foretail stuff, I'm like, okay, it's dark out,
<v Speaker 2>it's light out whatever, Like even that stuff, you can
<v Speaker 2>kind of like, uh, you know, just sort of, I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, get your make your way through without spending
<v Speaker 2>too much time obsessing over.
<v Speaker 3>The rocket and stuff. Right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but it's great that there is that kind of
<v Speaker 2>layered complexity to it, that all these separate systems on
<v Speaker 2>top of systems, and yeah, the game fucking.
<v Speaker 6>Rules man after question, I didn't make anybody mad on
<v Speaker 6>bo guy, but I did let people know that I
<v Speaker 6>uninstalled this as soon as the first tutorial came up
<v Speaker 6>with parrying because I hate parrying so much.
<v Speaker 7>Is there a slider for making that easy?
<v Speaker 5>Or let me let me touch on that too, because
<v Speaker 5>like I per I know that's a big controversy right now,
<v Speaker 5>people talking about paying and like Perry slop I in
<v Speaker 5>like from games and especially like this is why I
<v Speaker 5>couldn't do Securo. You can't just you know, cheese it
<v Speaker 5>by leveling up, Like that's how I beat Bloodborne, That's
<v Speaker 5>how we get Eldon. The ring is I just get
<v Speaker 5>way overpowered. Second row is like you gotta fucking learn
<v Speaker 5>how to pair yeah, And I always struggle with that
<v Speaker 5>and from games, and I never was a pery guy
<v Speaker 5>in from because it's like, I think there is something
<v Speaker 5>about like there's other things to there's positioning and the
<v Speaker 5>camera and there's there's a lot more going on than
<v Speaker 5>just hitting a button at the right time, And so
<v Speaker 5>I always sucked at at.
<v Speaker 4>Parrying in those.
<v Speaker 5>This one it's literally like you're watching the thing and
<v Speaker 5>once you kind of owe the audio cue or the
<v Speaker 5>visual cue or something, all you got to do is
<v Speaker 5>hover your finger over that RB and just time it.
<v Speaker 5>It's not anything else like, And I'm just saying that
<v Speaker 5>it's one who's not great at pairing. I know, like
<v Speaker 5>people get awesome at it, and from games I struggle
<v Speaker 5>with it. I don't struggle as much. I think it's
<v Speaker 5>actually kind of a nice balance.
<v Speaker 1>That's good.
<v Speaker 6>Now I really appreciate the games that have I forget
<v Speaker 6>which game I was playing, I think I do. Maybe
<v Speaker 6>somebody's gonna talk about Doom to do Doom game, but
<v Speaker 6>that has a pairing clider like sensitivity, so you can
<v Speaker 6>just make it as big as you want, and the
<v Speaker 6>pairing is pretty easy to do.
<v Speaker 3>I can't remember there's a slider in this one, but
<v Speaker 3>there's definitely like a story I got a story mode
<v Speaker 3>where the window is much bigger.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, says here.
<v Speaker 5>They updated the game for story mode, making raising okay,
<v Speaker 5>the perry windows wider story mode.
<v Speaker 2>That's huge. I think I've noticed that when I go
<v Speaker 2>from playing on my PC to playing in the family
<v Speaker 2>room where I have a PC connected to a television,
<v Speaker 2>I have worse timing on that than I do here.
<v Speaker 2>And it's probably an input leg thing.
<v Speaker 6>That's I never got good at rock bands, Like I
<v Speaker 6>always play a guitar here too, on a CRT, and
<v Speaker 6>even with the lack adjustment, it just never clicked for me.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think like that's the I I kind of wish,
<v Speaker 2>like I thought I had convinced myself, and maybe it
<v Speaker 2>was just sort of like, you know, I'm kind of
<v Speaker 2>like you know, placebo effect, But I was convinced that,
<v Speaker 2>like you know, adding points into the luck category was
<v Speaker 2>like somehow or defense was like somehow increasing my parry juice.
<v Speaker 2>But that sort of remains to be seen. I do
<v Speaker 2>think the one issue I have with the battling and
<v Speaker 2>the parrying is that sometimes when an enemy's turn to
<v Speaker 2>attack happens, the camera angle is very sort of like
<v Speaker 2>unforgiving and maybe even awkward. You're unsure as to who
<v Speaker 2>in your team is receiving the attack. I kind of
<v Speaker 2>like don't know right away. I find that to be
<v Speaker 2>maybe more backloaded in the second half of the game
<v Speaker 2>where I find it to be an issue. But but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, god damn, I just I'm at a point
<v Speaker 2>right now where I'm like, it's like every it's I
<v Speaker 2>could tell they're just juicing me up for like the
<v Speaker 2>last thing, and I'm just I'm running into fools like
<v Speaker 2>left and right, and I'm just like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 2>Monoco's like sixty eight right now, Like what are we doing?
<v Speaker 2>We had like let me do this painter shit, like
<v Speaker 2>let me get to the to the end or whatever
<v Speaker 2>it is. I don't know, I haven't done it yet,
<v Speaker 2>but I love it. I love every second of it.
<v Speaker 2>It is tremendous.
<v Speaker 5>It's kind of incredible how how good the story is
<v Speaker 5>without being like, you know, cause I've tried to start
<v Speaker 5>way more j RPGs and turn based RPGs than i've finished,
<v Speaker 5>and a lot of times it's just like, you know,
<v Speaker 5>two hours in, it's like I don't fucking care about
<v Speaker 5>this kingdom and it's hierarchy or whatever like or what
<v Speaker 5>the magic is like this you get into it, like
<v Speaker 5>people kind of warn me, Oh, it's a little talking
<v Speaker 5>at the beginning.
<v Speaker 4>It's not even that bad. It establishes like here's the deal.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, well we're gonna die when we're this age, and
<v Speaker 5>she's gonna paint the thing, and then we send these
<v Speaker 5>expeditions out and then the other stuff like they build
<v Speaker 5>so much with like finding the diaries of the previous
<v Speaker 5>expeditions and everything, and all the conversations at the campfire
<v Speaker 5>and everything. They all just get their shit in and
<v Speaker 5>get out. And it's very economical with that, which I appreciate.
<v Speaker 3>I should not be this happy about another person liking
<v Speaker 3>a game, but my heart is full. This is good.
<v Speaker 4>It's just a great game. There's no denying.
<v Speaker 2>And he's gonna blow through it because that's the kind
<v Speaker 2>of freak he is, right, and so that means we
<v Speaker 2>can have our Yeah, there's I have so many questions
<v Speaker 2>still about like some of the things that they kind
<v Speaker 2>of established to be true in the lore and then
<v Speaker 2>you like bump into a direct contradiction to what they
<v Speaker 2>just sort of established, and I'm.
<v Speaker 8>Likewown to you guys, like you know, and I love
<v Speaker 8>everything about it, but there is stuff because you know,
<v Speaker 8>I obviously suspend my disbelief and I want to be
<v Speaker 8>up in the lore, and but then I'll see things
<v Speaker 8>that I'm just like, I don't understand why you're doing this.
<v Speaker 1>Now.
<v Speaker 2>You just told me this can't happen, uh, you know,
<v Speaker 2>and and all the Mansion ship. I just don't know
<v Speaker 2>what's happening there. Well, maybe I'm assuming I'll get there's
<v Speaker 2>gotta be some kind of narrative payoff, right, So.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff Grubson in our chat, I might refuse to play
<v Speaker 3>it now just to be a real ship during the
<v Speaker 3>Game of the Year. If he's a hardliner, like.
<v Speaker 2>Do say something where it's like guarantee this is gonna
<v Speaker 2>be uh to me?
<v Speaker 3>Because I was like I was talking about the Game
<v Speaker 3>Awards specifically where I said I think Death Training two
<v Speaker 3>is a front runner. Not because I think he Lea
<v Speaker 3>does funny business. I think like people just associate death
<v Speaker 3>strand it's the same. Do you mean what it is good?
<v Speaker 3>It takes two principle, right, were that like one Game
<v Speaker 3>of the Year at the Game Wars because it's associated
<v Speaker 3>with the game Awards and just but people are voting,
<v Speaker 3>it's kind of like seems to be my number two
<v Speaker 3>or number three pick, and it's a lot of those.
<v Speaker 2>But that's where a split fiction, right has like an
<v Speaker 2>underdog kind of chance where it's like, you know what
<v Speaker 2>I mean.
<v Speaker 4>Wins this year.
<v Speaker 2>It's not gonna win, I know, but it's funny because
<v Speaker 2>split fiction is so much better than it takes two. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>but yeah, this is this.
<v Speaker 5>Is turning out to be a very like right now,
<v Speaker 5>I think it's blueprints Destranding two and thirty three that
<v Speaker 5>are like, boy, these.
<v Speaker 3>Are all going to be still rips.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, there's still Metroid Prime for Donkey Kong, right right, gosh.
<v Speaker 1>I also want to check out more of Night Rain,
<v Speaker 1>but I don't want to team up with Randos maybe something.
<v Speaker 3>It's so weird because it seems like ours, like people
<v Speaker 3>in our circle don't talk about that game anymore, which
<v Speaker 3>also makes you feel like, oh, abust the fallen Off.
<v Speaker 3>They look at the Steam charts, it's still like one
<v Speaker 3>hundred thousand people are playing it, so it's doing really well.
<v Speaker 3>It's just kind of I don't know, I'm interesting to
<v Speaker 3>talk about as a game.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, I mean, like, you know, it's it's like the
<v Speaker 1>Battle Royal problem right where it's like, yeah, you can
<v Speaker 1>only talk about so many good rounds or wins that
<v Speaker 1>you've had based off of like night Rain. And I
<v Speaker 1>feel from my loose following of the scene or the
<v Speaker 1>meta right now is that there is kind of a
<v Speaker 1>streamlined way to go about doing going through the nights
<v Speaker 1>in night Rain now that it may just be less
<v Speaker 1>interesting for people it's been Max.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, no thinking about Game of the Year here, and
<v Speaker 5>I just mentioned Blueprints as one of my top three.
<v Speaker 5>I think something that's going to hurt Blueprints when it
<v Speaker 5>comes time to Game of the Year is that even
<v Speaker 5>the people who loved it the most, and I consider
<v Speaker 5>myself someone.
<v Speaker 4>Who love love, love that yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>It goes so so deep into like if you want to,
<v Speaker 5>like everyone has that moment kind of halfway through the game,
<v Speaker 5>or you know, you could be twenty thirty hours in
<v Speaker 5>where you're like, oh my god, I'm just discovering things
<v Speaker 5>left and right, and then you beat the game, you
<v Speaker 5>see credits and it's like, well there's so much more,
<v Speaker 5>and it goes so so deep that like, I don't
<v Speaker 5>know if I've really met anyone who's done all things
<v Speaker 5>like I need to figure out the whole history of
<v Speaker 5>this this region and put together everything, and like there,
<v Speaker 5>I don't know anyone who didn't end the game by
<v Speaker 5>just being like all right, I think I've Yeah, I've
<v Speaker 5>gone as far as I want to go with this. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>you know, and like that's kind of like a versus
<v Speaker 5>like credits roll after a big boss fight, and some
<v Speaker 5>are like Destranting two is throwing a bunch of crazy
<v Speaker 5>shit at you for hours and then you're like gay Bravo.
<v Speaker 5>Blueprints is kind of the more like Okay, I think
<v Speaker 5>I've I think I'm done. I love that game, but
<v Speaker 5>I think I'm done.
<v Speaker 3>You know, there's so many people in that kind of
<v Speaker 3>like completionist realm out right, and I think like they
<v Speaker 3>are a little weird out by blueprintces. Like you know,
<v Speaker 3>beating the game is like forty percent of the effort
<v Speaker 3>and there's like so much more beyond that. But you know,
<v Speaker 3>I it's still super high up there. Mee, I don't
<v Speaker 3>want to beat Blue Sprints at some point, Yeah, get
<v Speaker 3>a race on.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Matthew Rewery, have you been playing anything that you
<v Speaker 1>want to talk about?
<v Speaker 6>Like I said, I've've been getting back in a little streaming.
<v Speaker 6>I did US stream last week we did I did.
<v Speaker 6>I am going to beat Splunky two's secret stuff this year.
<v Speaker 7>I've made it my goal. I've anybody recalled.
<v Speaker 6>I said I was going to beat Splunky two this year,
<v Speaker 6>just the regular game, and I thought I was going
<v Speaker 6>to take me months, and I did the first time
<v Speaker 6>I tried it earlier, like March.
<v Speaker 7>You can find that I'm on a YouTube channel.
<v Speaker 6>But now there's like this seventeen step process of getting
<v Speaker 6>to the hidden Cosmic Ocean and Splunky two, and I've
<v Speaker 6>made it my goal going to do it this year.
<v Speaker 6>Twitch dot tv dot Matthew doc Phail's gesture, I guess,
<v Speaker 6>and then a lot of Division two. Still Division two.
<v Speaker 6>I still play pretty much every day. I've been a
<v Speaker 6>big resurgence and support for that game. Like Massive Games
<v Speaker 6>is Massive Machine, it's massive putting out a lot of content,
<v Speaker 6>put on a dealc not too long ago, Battle for Brooklyn,
<v Speaker 6>and this one is just kind of numbers to go
<v Speaker 6>up because I have like pretty much every exotic and
<v Speaker 6>I've done everything in the game. But I just still
<v Speaker 6>find the way that game plays to be really really fun.
<v Speaker 6>So it's kind of my meat and potatoes game still
<v Speaker 6>Magic the Gathering. I'm kind of set in my ways
<v Speaker 6>at this point, and then I do need to get
<v Speaker 6>back into Blue Blueprints as well. I have an idea
<v Speaker 6>for a weird streaming series with all these weird epic
<v Speaker 6>games that get added to my account on Epic. But yeah,
<v Speaker 6>I've been I've been sicking of the meat and potatoes lately,
<v Speaker 6>but like you said, mostly reading a lot while I've.
<v Speaker 7>Been looking for work. Like I just kind of I
<v Speaker 7>enjoy reading a lot more than video games right now.
<v Speaker 6>But still time in my heart for the old, the
<v Speaker 6>old Country.
<v Speaker 1>Matthew Rory. I need to tell you that I thought
<v Speaker 1>of you. I think last years Games Calm because I
<v Speaker 1>sat in on a demo or presentation for a Dying
<v Speaker 1>Light to update. Yeah. I couldn't folk the whole time
<v Speaker 1>because I was just thinking what what Rory would think
<v Speaker 1>of this?
<v Speaker 7>I will probably love it.
<v Speaker 6>They're doing a new Dying Light, I want to say,
<v Speaker 6>or are they still making deal c for Dying Light too?
<v Speaker 7>I think I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>There's a new one Dying Light the Beast or something.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's the one, I said. Okay, how was it yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. It reminded me of that Sonic the
<v Speaker 1>Hedgehog game where he turns into a wereg oh unleas
<v Speaker 1>unleast Yeah, yes.
<v Speaker 6>Did you and I do that stream or rebeat Dying
<v Speaker 6>Light too? And how ridiculous it was at the end
<v Speaker 6>of that game, like it was I don't know if
<v Speaker 6>it was you or just be solo with a guest
<v Speaker 6>or something like that, but that was a ridiculous ending
<v Speaker 6>to a game, like really put off the rest of
<v Speaker 6>the game, kind of a you're basically fighting like a
<v Speaker 6>Goku level of Superman or something like that.
<v Speaker 7>But it might not have in you maybe to me,
<v Speaker 7>and I guess I forget. I'm pretty sure it was
<v Speaker 7>a giant bam.
<v Speaker 1>Though I remember watching you fight off hordes of zombies.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe not in Dying Light? What was or it might
<v Speaker 1>have been Days Gone?
<v Speaker 6>Oh yeah, yeah, those were Days Gone. I also really
<v Speaker 6>enjoyed that game. I'm surprisedly remastered it for PS five,
<v Speaker 6>but if you haven't played, it's pretty decent.
<v Speaker 1>I would like God this year this year has been
<v Speaker 1>pretty good for games. H Yeah, I love that little check.
<v Speaker 3>In so I first halfway through let's go oh my.
<v Speaker 1>Gosh, okay, bets here right now before we talk about
<v Speaker 1>the last game on the list. Are we going to
<v Speaker 1>see spoon Heaven this year?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah? They said yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Today Xbox Rock ally depends on it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, this year, Matthew, we're talking about God, I don't remember.
<v Speaker 3>Of the game.
<v Speaker 1>You You enjoyed Hollow Night right, the first one?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I got really far into that on my switch.
<v Speaker 6>I didn't ever beat it. I got past the three
<v Speaker 6>dudes at the bottom of that long vertical spot, and
<v Speaker 6>I kind of lost a little.
<v Speaker 1>Bit, but I did.
<v Speaker 6>I've tried to replay it a few times. It's just
<v Speaker 6>the early game like map finding stuff is really annoying.
<v Speaker 6>We don't have a mini map. I am looking forward
<v Speaker 6>to Silk Song though, but yeah, All the Night. It's
<v Speaker 6>a great game. I wish I could go back and
<v Speaker 6>finish it, but it's kind of a lost track and
<v Speaker 6>I started all over.
<v Speaker 1>Fantastic, fantastic last game I have here on the list,
<v Speaker 1>Mike Elevator Action Invasion, Yeah, so what.
<v Speaker 3>I yeah, I know, I know. I was actually taken
<v Speaker 3>to a cool arcade in Orlando called Arcade Monsters. Uh
<v Speaker 3>so I was checking all sorts of things. One of
<v Speaker 3>the more fun games though, Is this modern? Remember Elevator Action? Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>they made they made a new one. It's just more
<v Speaker 3>of a traditional gallery shooter. You have the guns with
<v Speaker 3>a ton of kickback. I think it's supposed to actually
<v Speaker 3>have elevator doors that open it closed on the screen,
<v Speaker 3>but that wasn't working. But uh, it was basically like
<v Speaker 3>they made a House of the Dead. But with Elevator Action,
<v Speaker 3>it's always funny because you're like in a building, you're
<v Speaker 3>fighting a boss or something or something taught to you,
<v Speaker 3>and then it always like up up to the bilding
<v Speaker 3>and it's like if only there was an elevator, Like,
<v Speaker 3>how can we take care of so you get the elevator.
<v Speaker 3>It did do one dy thing though that I liked,
<v Speaker 3>where if you are both kind of shooting within the
<v Speaker 3>general area, a circle happens around your bullet spots. It's
<v Speaker 3>kind of double damage, so you're it sentitized to like
<v Speaker 3>kind of be targeting the same things in it. And
<v Speaker 3>I thought that aspect of it was pretty fun. But
<v Speaker 3>besides that, there's just all sorts of wroth, you know,
<v Speaker 3>god bless roth rills.
<v Speaker 1>Do you know what?
<v Speaker 3>People making interesting new arcade games because they had like
<v Speaker 3>the roth Rills NBA Jam. It was just NBA Jam
<v Speaker 3>and that was fun. Like the roth Rills Motorcycle game
<v Speaker 3>that's basically just cruising blast on a motorcycle and that
<v Speaker 3>was fun too. They also had god the weird Sega
<v Speaker 3>Racing series Initial D or something like that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, so it's like, you know, it looks like, you know,
<v Speaker 3>one of their Daytona things or whatever, but it's a
<v Speaker 3>story based game and it's only in Japanese. So I'm
<v Speaker 3>playing this story based Japanese racing game in like the
<v Speaker 3>full out like car Machine and everything. That was a
<v Speaker 3>fun time.
<v Speaker 5>And I didn't know they made an NBA Jam NBA Superstars.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's it. It's just an NBA Jam and it
<v Speaker 3>was super fun.
<v Speaker 4>I want to play this great.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's great. I mean I assume every Dave and
<v Speaker 3>Busters in the world is gonna buy that.
<v Speaker 1>Sure, there wou When when you all go to an
<v Speaker 1>arcade or you know, like a Dave and Busters round one,
<v Speaker 1>do the employees get weird about I don't know if
<v Speaker 1>you guys want up recording it or taking pictures, but like,
<v Speaker 1>do they get weird about that?
<v Speaker 3>For y'all? About why do they get weird about what.
<v Speaker 1>Like recording like the game, like recording a friend. I
<v Speaker 1>don't whatever think.
<v Speaker 3>No, I don't think that's happened.
<v Speaker 1>Because I went to a round one yesterday. I was
<v Speaker 1>dropping off a family member and then I was like, wow, well,
<v Speaker 1>you know, there's a couple of crane games here I
<v Speaker 1>might as well partake. And I had just like I
<v Speaker 1>had the OSMO on me, and then I was just
<v Speaker 1>like recording myself doing it. And then like an employee
<v Speaker 1>comes to me and like they're the most gen z
<v Speaker 1>person in the world. I thought they were gonna call
<v Speaker 1>me unk and then they just say like, I'm sure
<v Speaker 1>you can't. You can't record the crane games.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, I can see that, Please put it away.
<v Speaker 6>I believe that, Yeah, because it can be they can
<v Speaker 6>be manipulated of them. I have like trends because aren't
<v Speaker 6>they basically like saw machines or like.
<v Speaker 7>One out of every five designed to market.
<v Speaker 2>I think you're.
<v Speaker 6>Right, so that could be you're not allowed to recording
<v Speaker 6>a casino, and that's the most casino like game of
<v Speaker 6>you know all.
<v Speaker 2>I think Rory's right on the nose here.
<v Speaker 3>I don't want you to expose the scam.
<v Speaker 7>Yes, crane crane games are I've I've learned to stay away.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they had a lot of pinball there back lare
<v Speaker 3>on free play, so that was exciting.
<v Speaker 2>But that is exciting. I don't really get sick of that.
<v Speaker 2>I usually have to be dragged away from that kind
<v Speaker 2>of situation. So it's sort of a mixed subject for me.
<v Speaker 6>You know what, I would appreciate a place that has pinball,
<v Speaker 6>even if it's paid, but has those little screws in
<v Speaker 6>the back all the way down instead of all the
<v Speaker 6>way up, so that goes a little slower and I
<v Speaker 6>could play a little better, a little longer, because every
<v Speaker 6>every pinball machine has those little screws on the back
<v Speaker 6>that goes up and down for height, and at the
<v Speaker 6>max height there's just way too fast for me.
<v Speaker 4>I'm fortunate.
<v Speaker 2>Well, you're supposed to have it calibrated to a certain degree.
<v Speaker 2>I believe it is like seven degrees.
<v Speaker 3>I want to say, I never knew about these screws,
<v Speaker 3>just all standard.
<v Speaker 7>Look at the back of a pinball machine. Sometimes I
<v Speaker 7>see one, Yeah, that goes up.
<v Speaker 2>Now the legs they have them on all four legs.
<v Speaker 2>They're these sort of like adjustable height pillars.
<v Speaker 4>Did you make it like a forty five degree angle.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, you could be a little shallower than most of
<v Speaker 6>the way the bars have them set up.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but.
<v Speaker 2>They are. I do believe, and you know, maybe I'm
<v Speaker 2>not one hundred percent accurate here, but I do believe
<v Speaker 2>there is like a certain universally agreed upon angle that
<v Speaker 2>all pinball machines is sort of be sitting at. It
<v Speaker 2>makes sense.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that being said, no one will stop me from
<v Speaker 1>playing great games. I did win at two of them,
<v Speaker 1>and I only spent eight dollars.
<v Speaker 2>That's not bad. Yeah, and you were entertained.
<v Speaker 1>I was entertained. I was like, I'm very good at
<v Speaker 1>this and I wanted to put it up on the
<v Speaker 1>GB Socials until this young man told me I couldn't.
<v Speaker 3>So should you should have? Do you know who I
<v Speaker 3>am them?
<v Speaker 6>I was asked not to take a picture of my
<v Speaker 6>dog the other day, and I was like, do you
<v Speaker 6>know my whole deal?
<v Speaker 7>It's my whole deal, dude.
<v Speaker 6>It was really weird because we were like outside on
<v Speaker 6>the street at a bar a patio and I was
<v Speaker 6>just like, Oh, your dog's a really cute and it
<v Speaker 6>wasn't really that cute, and I was just like taking
<v Speaker 6>a picture of it, like, please, don't take the pictures
<v Speaker 6>of the dog. Likes totally fine for me to pet
<v Speaker 6>it and like say hi to it and everything else.
<v Speaker 6>And I was just like, are you worried I'm gonna
<v Speaker 6>take your ig views or something like. It wasn't like
<v Speaker 6>don't take pictures of us. It was specifically not the dog.
<v Speaker 6>And I was very weirded out by it. Very nice
<v Speaker 6>guy apart from that, but it was like, I don't
<v Speaker 6>know your dogs will have bodily autonomy?
<v Speaker 7>Do they not? The way I touch him?
<v Speaker 2>That's right, folks. And with that, we're gonna take quick breaking.
<v Speaker 1>Break and Mike Manatty will be back with the news. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>it's fine, it's fine. You know what, Matthew Rory. You
<v Speaker 1>can take all the pictures of any dog I am near,
<v Speaker 1>and we should get Yes, I'll bring my pup over
<v Speaker 1>faded to black. No, that was a that was a
<v Speaker 1>good lift. That was that was very impressive. Thoughts here, Well,
<v Speaker 1>that's the breaking news story. Penny has returned home to
<v Speaker 1>Mike Manatti's home. Uh, his mom has returned his stream deck.
<v Speaker 1>Now what do we do?
<v Speaker 2>That's what I call my dog?
<v Speaker 1>You need the news? I can look at this docum. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Dan takeaway. Start with the first news story that Mike
<v Speaker 1>has written out here.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, actually I put together the news every week and
<v Speaker 5>he reads it. But I can I can do I
<v Speaker 5>can actually read it here if we want.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Former Blizzard president and Xbox Exact says Xbox needs to
<v Speaker 5>pick their lane and stick to it. That's coming from
<v Speaker 5>Chris Scullion at VGC, that's right. Former Blizzard president Mike
<v Speaker 5>Yabara says Xbox should decide what its identity should be
<v Speaker 5>going forward instead of trying to be a jack of
<v Speaker 5>all trades. You Saie Yabarra. He served various roles in
<v Speaker 5>Microsoft for twenty years. It culminated in a role as
<v Speaker 5>corporate vice president on Xbox Live and Xbox Campas before
<v Speaker 5>becoming Blizzard president for three years. He took to x
<v Speaker 5>to give his views on Xbox's current situation. It's tough
<v Speaker 5>to see Xbox confused about who it is and what
<v Speaker 5>it should be. Youbora wrote, some great people there. Still
<v Speaker 5>they need to figure out what needs to Mike take
<v Speaker 5>it about it.
<v Speaker 4>He's back.
<v Speaker 3>They have to figure out what needs to change and fast.
<v Speaker 3>Yobar continued, I'm a big fan and will always bleed
<v Speaker 3>green checking the team off from the sidelines. Pick your
<v Speaker 3>lane and stick to it, as by Fall or what
<v Speaker 3>he thinks xboxould do should do. Your Bar said he
<v Speaker 3>felt it should focus on being a publisher rather than
<v Speaker 3>a console manufacturer. I always got weird vibes from your
<v Speaker 3>Bar during his brief stint at Blizzard Entertainment there for
<v Speaker 3>a few years. Yeah you hate him, right, No, it
<v Speaker 3>hates a strong word, but the vibes were a little
<v Speaker 3>bit with weird. Yeah. Yeah, So it's one of those things.
<v Speaker 3>It's like I don't know if he's saying anything that's
<v Speaker 3>super intry here. I don't know why he's saying anything
<v Speaker 3>at all though who asked him?
<v Speaker 2>But that's my point, Like it's like, okay, buddy, thanks
<v Speaker 2>for like the uh, you know, unique insight that only
<v Speaker 2>you could somehow provide about a thing that everyone fucking
<v Speaker 2>knows exactly.
<v Speaker 3>Like it's I don't know if it's burning bridges. But
<v Speaker 3>I can't see how this helps him at all.
<v Speaker 7>I don't know what he even means.
<v Speaker 6>Like they have so many studios and so many different
<v Speaker 6>developing teams, Like what are they supposed to focus on?
<v Speaker 7>Like one genre or something like that, Like there.
<v Speaker 3>He means I think he means uh, Because so you know,
<v Speaker 3>they are still making a new console, and they are
<v Speaker 3>partnering with rog Gley for a portable. They're putting their
<v Speaker 3>name on a quest. Now the thing is the rog
<v Speaker 3>Atli thing in that Quest thing. Those are very low
<v Speaker 3>risk investments for them, right, they aren't making those machines
<v Speaker 3>they're putting They're slapping an Xbox logo on it and
<v Speaker 3>like some software shell.
<v Speaker 1>Right when did they announce the whole Meta Quest partnership
<v Speaker 1>Because that just came out of nowhere for me, like
<v Speaker 1>last week.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I feel like that was the straw that broke
<v Speaker 2>the camel's back. Thoughfore the impetus of this conversation. Sure,
<v Speaker 2>right like after you see that happen, you're like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>they're doing Xbox, you know this kind of okay, Well
<v Speaker 2>maybe they are strangled spreading themselves a little tooth in,
<v Speaker 2>but still.
<v Speaker 7>Happened today. Like I thought today was going to be
<v Speaker 7>like a huge brown of layoffs.
<v Speaker 3>Haven't seen There are supposed to be a ton of
<v Speaker 3>layoffs at Microsoft, and we are expecting them to impact
<v Speaker 3>Xbox this time around. I haven't seen anything about those
<v Speaker 3>going happening now.
<v Speaker 6>It looks like Blue Sky today. Maybe there's a bunch
<v Speaker 6>of LinkedIn got Olino's LinkedIn. Whenever anything happens for me
<v Speaker 6>is always like oh shit, right, believe.
<v Speaker 2>It's a godless place, not fun.
<v Speaker 3>I believe the people are saying turn ten. It's looking
<v Speaker 3>like they might be shut down. Who does the votes
<v Speaker 3>forts of motorsport games? Not her Rizon the forts of Motorsports.
<v Speaker 7>There, Brian Meckburg. I don't know if he's still there
<v Speaker 7>or not.
<v Speaker 3>I think he moved on, but yeah, I mean, I
<v Speaker 3>think clearly the you know, the publishing stuff is going
<v Speaker 3>to be important for Xbox. They're not abandoning the consoles yet.
<v Speaker 3>We still none of us really know what that next
<v Speaker 3>console is going to look like. We're hearing some things
<v Speaker 3>about that. Let's see what that is and how really
<v Speaker 3>invested in it they are. Maybe it's the last Xbox
<v Speaker 3>I don't know. But they're definitely gonna be making money
<v Speaker 3>by selling Call of Duty and Halo and Gears of
<v Speaker 3>War on every console including PlayStation. All right, Ninteito nots
<v Speaker 3>to switch one price increases in Canada amid us train tension.
<v Speaker 3>This is from Andy Robinson a VGC and again this
<v Speaker 3>is concerning switch one stuff, not switch to. Nintendo is
<v Speaker 3>referred to eraise prices for many of its products and
<v Speaker 3>services in Canada due to market conditions. Affected products include
<v Speaker 3>the Nintendo Switch O end model, the normal Switch, switch light,
<v Speaker 3>physical and digital switch games, and Switch accessories. Other Nintendo products,
<v Speaker 3>including a mebo and Switch online memberships also see price increases.
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo said to switch you, along with the successor software,
<v Speaker 3>remain at their current price points. New pricing information will
<v Speaker 3>be shared on the Nintendo Canada website on August first. Gosh,
<v Speaker 3>the switch one raising prices for that thing at a
<v Speaker 3>time where it's it's it's wild because normally the old
<v Speaker 3>stuff gets cheaper when you think how it works.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, is this It is this part of Nintendo just
<v Speaker 1>wanting to increase bang for their buck of like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>we want to clear all these.
<v Speaker 2>It's because of the weird trade tension.
<v Speaker 3>Oh okay, yeah, it's real. Quicks, come down to that.
<v Speaker 1>Real quick tand away from video games.
<v Speaker 2>Jesus you get political.
<v Speaker 1>No, I've been radicalized. These motherfuckers are increasing the cost
<v Speaker 1>and lowering the quality of my fucking coffee.
<v Speaker 6>I've heard what I've heard everybody's complaining about Dutch Brothers
<v Speaker 6>and I hate coffee, but I've been hearing a lot
<v Speaker 6>of this going around, Like.
<v Speaker 2>Wait, what's happening, Jen, what's happening on the ground there?
<v Speaker 1>Well, you know, the beans are stuck on the boats
<v Speaker 1>back all are so the freshness is like the overall quality,
<v Speaker 1>it's just sitting there.
<v Speaker 2>They're getting stale.
<v Speaker 1>Note whenever I do the bloom of any bag of coffee,
<v Speaker 1>and I circulate around a bunch of different local roasters, scout,
<v Speaker 1>I know I'm getting worked up. It's okay, Daddy's okay.
<v Speaker 1>But like it's okay any of these local roasteries. Like
<v Speaker 1>I'm talking to the to the homies and they're like, yeah, man,
<v Speaker 1>like this bag of green beans, like it's just been
<v Speaker 1>sitting here, but we got a roast anyway because we
<v Speaker 1>got orders to fulfill. Wow, it's fudged up. Fuck you
<v Speaker 1>tear rips and you know Trump obviously bitch, Yes, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>dumb bitch anyway, Sorry, Mike, go ahead.
<v Speaker 3>Oh oh good, next up here. Donkey Kunk Bananza developer
<v Speaker 3>finally confirmed by Nintendo, sparking questions over when Switch twos
<v Speaker 3>three d Mile will Arrive. This is by Tom Phillips
<v Speaker 3>at IGN. The title is finally confirmed to developed the
<v Speaker 3>team behind Donkey Kunk Bananas but Bananas Bonanza, and as
<v Speaker 3>many fans had suspected, the upcoming switch to Blockbuster is
<v Speaker 3>being made by the team who previously worked on Super Mayo.
<v Speaker 3>Otists what presentation affected by a g and ahead of
<v Speaker 3>a new Donkey Kunk Bananza hands on preview and title
<v Speaker 3>said that the same staff he worked on honestly also
<v Speaker 3>developed this new DK title. The confimation comes after Nintendo
<v Speaker 3>previously held off from stating which of its teams were
<v Speaker 3>behind the game, even after Bonanza was playable publicly at
<v Speaker 3>the switch Tos global launch tour. I'm not surprised, but
<v Speaker 3>there were there were some holdouts there who uh were
<v Speaker 3>still somewhat skeptical that this could possibly be or that
<v Speaker 3>this team had to be just straight up split off
<v Speaker 3>and it was a new team with maybe some veterans
<v Speaker 3>from that Odyssey team. But no, this is the next
<v Speaker 3>game from the people who made Super Mario Odyssey. It's
<v Speaker 3>not surprising. Are any of you worried now about what
<v Speaker 3>this means for when we're going to get that three
<v Speaker 3>D Mario game?
<v Speaker 5>No, I mean, no way, they've just been it's been
<v Speaker 5>on the back burner. Oh, we'll get to that after
<v Speaker 5>Donkey Kong. Like, I'm sure it's well on the way,
<v Speaker 5>and I'm sure it's going to be great. I don't
<v Speaker 5>know how they operate with their teams or whatever, but
<v Speaker 5>they're not gonna let Mario be like some B team product.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 4>No, no, but the timing is pretty Wait another year
<v Speaker 4>or two, that's fine.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, there are some people who were like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>maybe we're still getting a three D Mario game this year.
<v Speaker 3>That seems less likely. And I will say, you know,
<v Speaker 3>some people like, well maybe next year.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe.
<v Speaker 3>I do think some people maybe need to get prepared
<v Speaker 3>for the potential of no three D Mario till twenty
<v Speaker 3>twenty seven or.
<v Speaker 2>And I do think people forget. I know, it's the
<v Speaker 2>difference between two and three D, but like there is
<v Speaker 2>maybe some sort of I don't know, reasoning of like, well,
<v Speaker 2>you got your wonder, you got your Mario fixed with
<v Speaker 2>something it wasn't the three D one.
<v Speaker 1>Sorry, I mean to.
<v Speaker 5>Me, it's like, Okay, the team is team behind Odyssey
<v Speaker 5>is making a three D platformer in like the Mario universe.
<v Speaker 5>It's like, Okay, yeah, you've replaced Mario with a monkey.
<v Speaker 5>It's it's fine, It's gonna be great and hit kind
<v Speaker 5>of the same notes and have some fun new wrinkles
<v Speaker 5>and stuff.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 3>No, I'm exactly the same. The other interesting thing here
<v Speaker 3>is that Nintendo, it's weird that they won't just tell
<v Speaker 3>us right away like so many people, so many other people,
<v Speaker 3>if they were in charge of this would at the
<v Speaker 3>very beginning of that first trailer be like from the
<v Speaker 3>team that brought to Super Mario Odyssey. But Nintendo's go
<v Speaker 3>to answer whenever they're asked who what team's making game
<v Speaker 3>is always say wait till it comes out and read
<v Speaker 3>the credits, at least alone. The fact that they answered
<v Speaker 3>this at all is something.
<v Speaker 2>Look, occasionally they exhibit like very alien behavior, you know,
<v Speaker 2>occasionally that I'm saying, they just sort of like they
<v Speaker 2>they just they are vibrating at a different frequency a
<v Speaker 2>lot of the time.
<v Speaker 6>Well, they got famous in the eighties or like not
<v Speaker 6>having credits because I didn't want people to get poached,
<v Speaker 6>if I recall correctly, that.
<v Speaker 3>Was a that was a regular video game industry practice
<v Speaker 3>at the time, honestly, But yeah, they were definitely big
<v Speaker 3>into that as well. Then they're still bad about crediting
<v Speaker 3>everybody to this day, so they're yeah, they are, just
<v Speaker 3>they want people to just think of things as being
<v Speaker 3>made by Nintendo, right, Nintendo made sure? What do you
<v Speaker 3>mean a Mario team. It's just all Nintendo, who's game freak.
<v Speaker 3>We don't know them what they're making a game for
<v Speaker 3>PlayStation or whatever, who cares. So it's a little bit weird.
<v Speaker 3>But I'm glad that they at least did come out
<v Speaker 3>and say this, even though I don't know. It seemed
<v Speaker 3>it seemed blaked int to me from the beginning.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, most importantly, Bury, the lead here chat did
<v Speaker 5>say something about wrinkle Kong is in this game, which
<v Speaker 5>I don't think has been confirmed yet. Still no funky.
<v Speaker 5>I'm looking for confirmation of Wrinkley Kong. If Jack and like,
<v Speaker 5>but she's dead, she was a ghost. But like, if
<v Speaker 5>this is back in time because Pauline's a kid, this
<v Speaker 5>could be before she died, you know that's true.
<v Speaker 3>What if this is the Kriaky Kong fails timeline that I.
<v Speaker 4>Want to get the Donkey Kong historia.
<v Speaker 3>Exactly. Actually, I think Donkey Kong Country was the Kreaky
<v Speaker 3>Kog fails timeline, you Wi being the Creaky Kongo succeeded.
<v Speaker 5>This is what This is way more interesting to me
<v Speaker 5>than the Zelda timeline.
<v Speaker 3>I am very excited for this game. This is gonna
<v Speaker 3>be dot here a couple of weeks. I cannot wait.
<v Speaker 4>Tony Hawks and Donkey Kong coming out in.
<v Speaker 1>A few weeks.
<v Speaker 4>Good July.
<v Speaker 3>I am excited for July.
<v Speaker 1>How is Skate four not out yet?
<v Speaker 3>I think skateboards miss the boat in by boat, I
<v Speaker 3>mean the cruise ship level until the ext pro Skate
<v Speaker 3>three that I'm going to be partying and all a.
<v Speaker 1>Sudden god.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>Fans slam the Altars after discovering evidence of undisclosed jen
<v Speaker 3>AI in images, text, and translation. This is by Vicky
<v Speaker 3>Blake at Eurogamer. Players have hit out at the Altars
<v Speaker 3>developer eleven Bit Studios that their AI prompts were discovered
<v Speaker 3>in both subtitles and flavor text in the game. It's
<v Speaker 3>intimating a routine use of large language models without disclosure.
<v Speaker 3>Since Jerry twenty twenty four, FALF has required games that
<v Speaker 3>use pre or live generator AI to divulge this as
<v Speaker 3>part of the Steam distribution agreement. One such example, an
<v Speaker 3>in game screen that's presumably there to look all sci
<v Speaker 3>fi and scientific begins with Sure, here's a revised version
<v Speaker 3>focusing purely on scientific and astronomical data. The studio did
<v Speaker 3>have a statement for this. They said, we've seen a
<v Speaker 3>wide range of accusations regarding the use of AI generated
<v Speaker 3>content in the Altars. We feel it's important to clarify
<v Speaker 3>our approach and give you more context. AI generated assets
<v Speaker 3>were used strictly as temporary work in progresses during the
<v Speaker 3>development process and in a very limited manner. Our team
<v Speaker 3>is always prioritized meaningful, handcrafted storytelling as one of the
<v Speaker 3>foundations of our game. Blah blah blah. This one's interesting.
<v Speaker 3>It's it both it sucks and it feels like you're
<v Speaker 3>going to use temp stuff. Maybe it should just be
<v Speaker 3>the most obvious temp stuff in the world, like just
<v Speaker 3>the right just the word temporary, don't accidentally keep it
<v Speaker 3>in your game.
<v Speaker 5>And then that's really funny because sometimes that does happen still,
<v Speaker 5>like like we've seen this temporary billboard.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I'm a feeling this happens a lot more than
<v Speaker 6>than people know, like coming from like we didn't do
<v Speaker 6>anything like that. At NOUL, But I have a feeling
<v Speaker 6>like small I don't know the team that made the alters,
<v Speaker 6>but I'm a feeling like small teams will be doing
<v Speaker 6>this a fair amount going forward and trying their best
<v Speaker 6>to yeah, take it out hopefully right.
<v Speaker 3>I can almost understand if they're frustrated, because you know,
<v Speaker 3>this is being all this AI stuff is being deliberate
<v Speaker 3>and promise to these develop persess it's going to help
<v Speaker 3>them with game development and blah blah blah, and you know,
<v Speaker 3>I guess from their perspective, like, well, that's what we're doing,
<v Speaker 3>and everybody mad and they hate us. Everyone's mad and
<v Speaker 3>hates them because it looks bad and it's a crappy
<v Speaker 3>product and it's you know, if we're going to help
<v Speaker 3>game development, it can't be at the expense of quality.
<v Speaker 3>But this shure seems like a further warning for a
<v Speaker 3>lot of these developers that this stuff is just incredibly
<v Speaker 3>toxic right now and you have to be incredibly careful
<v Speaker 3>with it.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, it reminds me of like the NFT stuff.
<v Speaker 5>It's like when yeah, everybody was trying to do that
<v Speaker 5>and gamers were just like largely roundly just like hey,
<v Speaker 5>fuck this.
<v Speaker 4>We don't want this, like they're doing it what.
<v Speaker 2>They I you know how.
<v Speaker 1>In Gmail, how it'll create create the separate tabs for like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>this is your promotion stuff, this is social blah blah blah.
<v Speaker 1>I normally just ignore the promotions, turn those off. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>but I'm scrolling through and Louis Vuitton Folks is offering
<v Speaker 1>a free NFT if you buy a bag right now.
<v Speaker 7>Oh shit, hitting right at the top of that curve,
<v Speaker 7>no doubt.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, seriously, way to stay current?
<v Speaker 3>Alrighty here next up, Square Inix will make more turn
<v Speaker 3>based games and recognizes the success of clarib Scure Expedition
<v Speaker 3>thirty three. Yes, not many salty, outrageous success coming for
<v Speaker 3>claib Scare Expedition thirty three. The game had potential, but
<v Speaker 3>it's likely exceeded all expectations in twenty twenty five. So
<v Speaker 3>much so a square Unitch investor is reportedly pushing for
<v Speaker 3>Square Nex to shift yours back to turn based games,
<v Speaker 3>using Final Fantasy and drag Quest as examples found. Fantasy
<v Speaker 3>Peerist would probably love the return of a purely turn
<v Speaker 3>based foul fantasy game, according to a translated post from
<v Speaker 3>Ganke one score Innich investor is pushing for the company
<v Speaker 3>to return to its roots. At the Square Nix chairs meeting,
<v Speaker 3>one investor said they would like the new Dragon quest
<v Speaker 3>of ful fans games to be turn based and highlighted
<v Speaker 3>Expistitition thirty three success example. Square Anks responded that they
<v Speaker 3>are aware of Expedition thirty three and believe that command
<v Speaker 3>based RPGs are the origin of Square Inx. They value
<v Speaker 3>the genre of command based RPGs and plan to continue
<v Speaker 3>delivering such games in the future. Now, the Square Enix
<v Speaker 3>does still make turn based games, but it's usually I
<v Speaker 3>don't say it's not Triple A, but you know, it's
<v Speaker 3>Bravely Default too, It's Octopath Traveler too. But you know,
<v Speaker 3>with Final Fantasy sixteen in particular, the language was very
<v Speaker 3>much like, we need this game to reach a bigger audience,
<v Speaker 3>so therefore it can't be a turn based game for nerds.
<v Speaker 3>You know, that was essentially what they're saying.
<v Speaker 4>It's not reductive.
<v Speaker 1>Well, but like, the part that doesn't make any sense
<v Speaker 1>to me is that it feels like a lot of
<v Speaker 1>other studios kind of doubled down on turn based, like
<v Speaker 1>like a Dragon switched from like a brawler to turn
<v Speaker 1>based action and got received a lot of success, and
<v Speaker 1>we saw when Square was pivoting for Final Fantasy sixteen
<v Speaker 1>to be all action RPG. I don't know personas doing
<v Speaker 1>Gangbusters or continues to do huge ass numbers, and that
<v Speaker 1>is still and has been a turn based game. I
<v Speaker 1>don't fucking understand Square.
<v Speaker 6>I was so disappointed by Final Fantasy sixteen. I hope
<v Speaker 6>they do kind of take some of this to heart.
<v Speaker 6>Like I barely got through the first like zone of sixteen.
<v Speaker 6>It was aggressively bad looking on PS five.
<v Speaker 7>Which is kind of stunnying, like it didn't run very well.
<v Speaker 6>But I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy in general,
<v Speaker 6>and I've played pretty much all those games. Man, if
<v Speaker 6>you want to see some thirsty behavior, go to a
<v Speaker 6>game shop and try to find some Final Fantasy Magic
<v Speaker 6>the gathering product. It is crazy what people are doing
<v Speaker 6>for that shit.
<v Speaker 7>So Final Fantasy has no problem being.
<v Speaker 6>A platform or you know, it still is has a
<v Speaker 6>huge amount of people very interested in what they're doing.
<v Speaker 6>But I think sixteen, especially in fifteen two, wasn't like,
<v Speaker 6>you know, they've been missfiring on their main series, So
<v Speaker 6>maybe take a take a few years off, make a
<v Speaker 6>smaller one make something like Final Fantasy ten. I'd love
<v Speaker 6>to see Final Fantasy ten three.
<v Speaker 7>How about that go back to the well, let's.
<v Speaker 3>Do it even with a Dragon Quest. They haven't said
<v Speaker 3>much about Dragon Quest twelve since announcing it a few
<v Speaker 3>years ago, but they are kind of priming us to
<v Speaker 3>get right for gameplay changes. So I think people were
<v Speaker 3>been worrying that series. But you know, stay turn based
<v Speaker 3>even longer than Final Fantasy was going to do a shift,
<v Speaker 3>and who really does want that? Yeah, I guess you know,
<v Speaker 3>when Claire Obscurer was a hit and also metaphor Refontazio
<v Speaker 3>last year and things like, you know, the like a
<v Speaker 3>Dragon series, I was hoping that this was gonna wake
<v Speaker 3>Square up a bit that. You know, I get it
<v Speaker 3>some people are going to see a very normal turn
<v Speaker 3>based system and maybe find that a little doll or
<v Speaker 3>not for them. But you can do things to make
<v Speaker 3>turn based combat more exciting and feel more modern and
<v Speaker 3>interesting to other people. And doesn't you know you don't
<v Speaker 3>have to directly copy what Claire Obscure was doing with
<v Speaker 3>parrying and things like that, but you know, you've got
<v Speaker 3>creative people working there, creatively figure out a way to
<v Speaker 3>make your system stand out and be engaging. Also, I
<v Speaker 3>definitely hope the next Final Fantasy goes back to that
<v Speaker 3>system a bit and isn't just another weird genre diversion.
<v Speaker 6>Agreed, You have to imagine seventeen is pretty well development,
<v Speaker 6>at least predevelopment. I'm curious what they can do now
<v Speaker 6>to pivot. But yeah, card based battlers put it brought,
<v Speaker 6>write it down. You know, somebody's send that note over.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Yeah, fancy Star Online episode three too. Uh? Next
<v Speaker 3>up here. Band Dynamico Summer Showcase airs this week. This
<v Speaker 3>is from Marcus Stewart at Game Informer Welcome Back. Game Informer.
<v Speaker 3>Ban dy Namco is holding a summer showcase this week
<v Speaker 3>on Wednesday, July second. The digital event will feature new
<v Speaker 3>information upcoming games, as well as a couple of exclusive reveals.
<v Speaker 3>The showcase begins at twelve pm Specific three pm Eastern.
<v Speaker 3>In terms of new announcements, a trailer teas is the
<v Speaker 3>reveal of a new My Hero Academia game and exclusive
<v Speaker 3>trailer reviewer for Toa in the Guardians of the Sacred Tree.
<v Speaker 3>The showcase will feature a gameplay deep dive for Digimont
<v Speaker 3>story Time Stranger I believe they're also going to be
<v Speaker 3>talking about coding to Shadow Labyrinth, that pac Men, metro
<v Speaker 3>Vina things, some other stuff there. But yeah, they have
<v Speaker 3>a lot of games coming. I wouldn't expect too too much. Again,
<v Speaker 3>the new announcements is probably gonna be anime gamers. I'm
<v Speaker 3>sad to say, I don't think this is where I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna get my Ridge Racer revival now. But you know,
<v Speaker 3>bandonkil they've been doing pretty good lately. I would say
<v Speaker 3>they have found a good niche for themselves, but they
<v Speaker 3>still are able to explore around that a bit. And
<v Speaker 3>obviously it's sometimes they get to publish insane bangers like
<v Speaker 3>an Elden Ring and that does pretty well for them.
<v Speaker 3>I imagine, Yeah, something may baby Gosh, that's that's tomorrow.
<v Speaker 3>Are we gonna do a watch at twelve pm? We're
<v Speaker 3>gonna do a watch over for that.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, we might be delight clubbing.
<v Speaker 3>It might be Delight clubbing. And again I'm not expecting
<v Speaker 3>too much. I'm expecting something kind of like that Capcom
<v Speaker 3>presentation that happened last week, right, I think crazy Arc
<v Speaker 3>Tempered Arc Tempered Bandy Namco Summer Showcase WW two K
<v Speaker 3>two twenty five is coming to switch to late this month.
<v Speaker 3>Chris Gollan at VGC switch You version of W two
<v Speaker 3>K twenty five is coming later this month. The game
<v Speaker 3>will be released on Switching on July twenty third, and
<v Speaker 3>we'll come in three direct editions, similar to those on
<v Speaker 3>Plastation and Xbox formats. I mean, these games do come
<v Speaker 3>to switch, but they, you know, usually kind of look
<v Speaker 3>pretty rough. I imagine this time around they might get
<v Speaker 3>a pretty decent boost by having a prettier version on there. Dann,
<v Speaker 3>are you gonna go back to the island on your
<v Speaker 3>switch to?
<v Speaker 5>I don't think I went back to the island after
<v Speaker 5>that quick look or that stream that we did. Uh,
<v Speaker 5>don't that the game? The base game is pretty good now,
<v Speaker 5>but those modes are not great.
<v Speaker 2>Say it.
<v Speaker 4>I'm kind of at a low point in terms of
<v Speaker 4>wrestling interest right now.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I say that I.
<v Speaker 7>Am because of the scen stuff I've been hearing nothing about.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, it's been the wrestlmaning was weak, the Sena
<v Speaker 5>arc has not been that interesting. Honestly, AW is kind
<v Speaker 5>of doing it and there's actually a lot of things
<v Speaker 5>that are rubbing me the wrong way about WIT are
<v Speaker 5>you this year in particular, AW, it's getting some momentum again.
<v Speaker 1>So if you pick.
<v Speaker 5>Between the two rails shifted much more.
<v Speaker 7>AW, that's healthy for the community for sure.
<v Speaker 3>Super Mario Strikers is the next GameCube title coming to
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo Switch Online plus Expansion Pack. This is also Marcus Stewart,
<v Speaker 3>a game reformer. Super Mario Strikers originally launched on the
<v Speaker 3>GameCube in two thousand and five. That makes it the
<v Speaker 3>twentieth anniversary this year. An extreme soccer game starting the
<v Speaker 3>cast of the Mushroom Kingdom and if So Plus Expitch
<v Speaker 3>Pack subscribers can play Mario Strikers when it arrives on
<v Speaker 3>July third. Hey, it joints the already available win Waker,
<v Speaker 3>Soul Coaber two, and F zero g X. I think
<v Speaker 3>that this is one a lot of people are going
<v Speaker 3>to be excited about. Definitely one of the more popular
<v Speaker 3>multiplayer offerings on the GameCube. I've enjoyed the GameCube emulation,
<v Speaker 3>even though it does have some problems input lag. The
<v Speaker 3>one that really bothers me is the analog sensitivity, especially
<v Speaker 3>in win Waker. For some reason, that one got me there.
<v Speaker 3>But maybe some of that stuff is going to be tuned,
<v Speaker 3>tuned a little bit. Maybe we'll get an update to
<v Speaker 3>the whole service when this releases. Man, And if you're
<v Speaker 3>going to play some Super Mario Strikers on your switch tes,
<v Speaker 3>I might.
<v Speaker 5>I never really played too much of it back in
<v Speaker 5>the day. Fantastic at big size, but like, I'm open
<v Speaker 5>to it.
<v Speaker 1>What's the max amount of players you can do?
<v Speaker 7>I think it's three four imagine.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, well maybe we should play soccer again against mid max.
<v Speaker 6>Strikers is fantastic to me. I think that game is
<v Speaker 6>really really good. It's one of my favorite game cube games.
<v Speaker 6>Just really tightly played and great power ups and everything
<v Speaker 6>like that. So I'm looking I would I'm not going
<v Speaker 6>to buy a switch to for this, but I would
<v Speaker 6>definitely play more of that.
<v Speaker 7>It's a great game.
<v Speaker 5>I think it's interesting like when they launch like GameCube games,
<v Speaker 5>like this is just like one game they're launching, and
<v Speaker 5>I feel like in the past, like you know, any
<v Speaker 5>Ass or Superintendo, it's like, here's twenty fucking games, and
<v Speaker 5>it's like, yeah, at this point, it's like I've heard
<v Speaker 5>of or played you know, maybe half of these. But
<v Speaker 5>now with like the gamekeep once each drop. I think
<v Speaker 5>feels like kind of like, oh, oh okay, now that's here.
<v Speaker 5>You know, it feels like more recent than a bigger deal.
<v Speaker 5>I'm excited about more game stuff.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, there's still some stuff coming that they have already
<v Speaker 3>talked about, like they announced like these games are coming,
<v Speaker 3>and this is one of them. Like I rembleming, Chip
<v Speaker 3>Robo Mario Sunshine was there. So there there there is
<v Speaker 3>more coming. I hope it's not a one one a
<v Speaker 3>month drop, right. I hope it gets something else this
<v Speaker 3>month for GameCube n S. So I hope they do
<v Speaker 3>not add Cube of War on there. I cannot afford
<v Speaker 3>to have the price of my Cube of Wore Go down.
<v Speaker 3>That's a big investment.
<v Speaker 2>Products that would that would be a big deal for you.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry, Yeah, it'd be a best bad day.
<v Speaker 1>Mikey Uh.
<v Speaker 3>Missed of Cyan Worlds lays off more staffs is from
<v Speaker 3>Rachel Caser at games Beat Sion worldsycling studio behind adventure games.
<v Speaker 3>Missed and Riven revealed today that is laid off more
<v Speaker 3>staph in the second round of job losses in twenty
<v Speaker 3>twenty five.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>It didn't disclose exactly how many staff had been laid off,
<v Speaker 3>but updated a contact sheet to reflect those of its
<v Speaker 3>staff who were still in need of work. Studio previously
<v Speaker 3>laid off twelve STAPH members in March, which amount two
<v Speaker 3>a round half of its staff. GEZ. In a statement
<v Speaker 3>issue at the time, the leadership said they were in
<v Speaker 3>a tricky spot where we were having to weigh the
<v Speaker 3>future of our studio against the month month realities of
<v Speaker 3>game development, and twenty twenty five also stated they were
<v Speaker 3>offering severnth packages to those who had been laid off.
<v Speaker 3>You know, layoffs are always terrible, I know, especially this industry.
<v Speaker 3>A lot of time it is just like people being
<v Speaker 3>greedy and trying to cut offs to increase profits elsewhere.
<v Speaker 3>I think Cyon it is sadly a case of not
<v Speaker 3>selling enough copies of Mist and Riven as they need
<v Speaker 3>to keep things going and getting work lined up for
<v Speaker 3>whatever it is they would do. Nest, I think it's
<v Speaker 3>a shame because I mean, I'm enjoying that Mystery make
<v Speaker 3>a lot. I've heard people say that the Riven remake
<v Speaker 3>that came out I believe last year is even better,
<v Speaker 3>and it's you know, it's a small studio though, so
<v Speaker 3>it's a tough time for maybe these kinds of games.
<v Speaker 6>They also had another AI kind of bungle with their
<v Speaker 6>Firmament game that came out a few years ago, which
<v Speaker 6>it has less than a thousand reviews on Steam. And
<v Speaker 6>I know that AI was a big kind of problem
<v Speaker 6>for people with that game too, So I'm not sure
<v Speaker 6>that game really hit for them in any kind of
<v Speaker 6>meaningful way.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, it sucks, Yeah it sucks. They like I said,
<v Speaker 3>they have they do kind of release this contact sheets
<v Speaker 3>with those being impacted by it for prospectible employers to
<v Speaker 3>look at at least, So I don't know. I hope, uh,
<v Speaker 3>I hope things turn out well for all in there
<v Speaker 3>and wishing them, wishing them the best.
<v Speaker 7>Based in the.
<v Speaker 3>Sion Worlds, I mean, I assume, so I assume. So
<v Speaker 3>I think that's right. Uh No, I'm trying to look
<v Speaker 3>it up because I'm a sick.
<v Speaker 1>Oh.
<v Speaker 3>Sign Worlds is headquartered in No Mead, Washington.
<v Speaker 6>So so weird they were originally British, right or from
<v Speaker 6>the UK. I want to say that original games were
<v Speaker 6>developed over there.
<v Speaker 7>Maybe I could be weird.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe you're wrong.
<v Speaker 3>I think they were from Spokane, Washington. If I'm looking
<v Speaker 3>at this correctly, it might be somebody else, somebody man.
<v Speaker 3>No worries though, but that is it for the news.
<v Speaker 3>Jan I am handing the show back over to you.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you, Mike Minatti. What a lovely news segment. I

<v Speaker 1>emails and stupor chats from YouTube if we got any.
<v Speaker 1>In a bit. These are the emails for the show. Emails,
<v Speaker 1>uh Ry, you can put it.
<v Speaker 6>This is the obviest thing I've lifted in like a
<v Speaker 6>year or two.
<v Speaker 1>That God, that that I appreciate the craftsmanship that went
<v Speaker 1>into making that sign for folk audio listeners. Matthew was
<v Speaker 1>holding up the wooden metal sign that was displayed on
<v Speaker 1>the BombCast table. God, the things you could you feel
<v Speaker 1>someone with that.
<v Speaker 6>I could probably just work out with that and have
<v Speaker 6>that be my Boddy workout that I'm desperately behind on.
<v Speaker 1>Just do some squats or some like kettle Bell Bomb
<v Speaker 1>guest John Bomb dot com is email address to send

<v Speaker 1>Cody Roads to portray Gyle in the Street Fighter movie.
<v Speaker 3>Man, that's not real.
<v Speaker 2>It's a Roman.
<v Speaker 4>And Cody is Gyle. They're gonna fight the movie, aren't they.
<v Speaker 1>Oh they're gonna and Jason Momoa is there as well.
<v Speaker 5>Oh my gods. Okay, Cody and the trailer for Naked Gun.
<v Speaker 1>Oh really cool.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't realize that movie.
<v Speaker 1>Uh that source website isn't trustworthy. Okay, all right, thank you,
<v Speaker 1>Michael O'Leary. We will. We will keep our eyes peeled
<v Speaker 1>for any new movie movie updates with Street Fighter. God
<v Speaker 1>fifty cent is going to be in that movie? What
<v Speaker 1>the hell is going on? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>It's ballarrog I believe.
<v Speaker 1>Who's directing that.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>The guy from Late Night with the Devil is Bison?
<v Speaker 2>What?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah?
<v Speaker 7>Wait David dem mash Chain, Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Yea, I saw someone post that today. I don't know
<v Speaker 5>if that's confirmed.
<v Speaker 7>I could kind of see that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I can see it.
<v Speaker 6>Murder that's really good too. He's really good on that.
<v Speaker 6>We need to catch up on murder, but it's a
<v Speaker 6>really good show.
<v Speaker 1>They should uh fire fifty cent because fifty cent is
<v Speaker 1>like trash and just make some moa Joe ballrog make
<v Speaker 1>some moojo any character.
<v Speaker 4>Put some mojo in everything?
<v Speaker 1>Yes? Please? Yeah? What a cool guy anyway? Uh podcast balls?
<v Speaker 1>What bombcasta giant bomb dot com is email a dress?
<v Speaker 1>First email comes from Aaron uh in Phoenix. Howdy bomb
<v Speaker 1>pokes cowboy emoji. I found out Jane and I share
<v Speaker 1>a birthday October eleventh. When I found out, I immediately thought, hey,
<v Speaker 1>I'm probably good at video production kung fu like he is,
<v Speaker 1>just because we share the same birthday. I have no
<v Speaker 1>skills in avy whatsoever and have never tried. We do
<v Speaker 1>share the same birthday as wrestler Rakishi, but also the
<v Speaker 1>wrestler Taz to email Jones over here in sixth grade.
<v Speaker 1>I found this out and started walking like he did
<v Speaker 1>because I thought it was cool. I still walk like him.
<v Speaker 1>If I'm ever feeling myself to this day, do you
<v Speaker 1>ever think you're just like someone for sharing something as
<v Speaker 1>inconsequential as a birthday. I'm a Yoyo person. So Jan,
<v Speaker 1>by my reasoning, you should be inherently good at yoyo.
<v Speaker 1>Let me know if you ever do want to get
<v Speaker 1>started truly. Aaron from Phoenix PS shouts out to my
<v Speaker 1>sweets and season City YadA da.
<v Speaker 7>I'm not gonna say, but this has been going on
<v Speaker 7>for like five thousand years.
<v Speaker 6>With horoscopes gues. People do believe that they are matched
<v Speaker 6>with people like them on their birthday.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, again I'm wrong.
<v Speaker 7>In general, it's going on for a long time.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm with you, but I don't believe birthday is Tupac.
<v Speaker 4>So you can start calling me the Tupac of Giant Pomp.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I have.
<v Speaker 1>I mean he's been.
<v Speaker 2>It is with no great irony that I share a
<v Speaker 2>birthday with the Undertaker.
<v Speaker 1>But no, you know that kind of makes sense.
<v Speaker 2>I guess you know what it's like, why right?
<v Speaker 1>Were?
<v Speaker 2>I guess presentationally maybe a little like not anything else
<v Speaker 2>from what I understand.
<v Speaker 4>I share one with podcast with both of you.
<v Speaker 2>It's true.
<v Speaker 3>Let's see, I've got Nicki Minaj and Lauren Phillips.
<v Speaker 1>Well, Nicki Minaj, there's no shortage of similarities.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, that's like looking into a mirror.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, absolutely, Matt. Do you share a birthday with a celebrity?
<v Speaker 7>Martin Luther apparently that was what.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, of the ten not to tend to seventy two
<v Speaker 6>things he nailed to the door of the church. That's
<v Speaker 6>a good one. I was just reading about that throughout him.
<v Speaker 6>He got called it the Vatican to to talk about
<v Speaker 6>his reformation plans, and they called it the Council of Worms,
<v Speaker 6>and I was like, I think that's what it was,
<v Speaker 6>the Council of worms, because there's a town called Council
<v Speaker 6>of Worms for worms.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, so that's my fun.
<v Speaker 6>Martin Luca Trivia, he got called to the Vatican to
<v Speaker 6>talk about reformation and they called it the Council of Worms,
<v Speaker 6>like breaking out. No, it's a town in Italy, a
<v Speaker 6>thing called worms.
<v Speaker 7>I believe could be making that right.
<v Speaker 5>I got Laurie Metcalf from Roseanne Nice. Okay, the Joiner
<v Speaker 5>from the Royals, Yeah, okay, the Sandman, Oh.
<v Speaker 3>Now there we got Actually, yeah, you are a lot
<v Speaker 3>like the Sandman.
<v Speaker 4>The Ultim Warrior and the Sandman share my birthday?
<v Speaker 2>Wow? Okay?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Minati Rory, do you share a birthday with a wrestler?
<v Speaker 1>From what you can discern here orange.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, well yeah, that's yeah. We got a we
<v Speaker 1>got a wrap group right here.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if I a wrestler. There's got to
<v Speaker 3>be some wrestlers born in December eighth, but I don't
<v Speaker 3>see it. Sammy Davis Junior. Maybe Jim Morrison. There you go, Okay, okay.
<v Speaker 1>That's pretty sick, all right. Next email comes from Matt
<v Speaker 1>in the UK High Bomb Crew. It was just on
<v Speaker 1>a long drive for work and I passed a billboard
<v Speaker 1>that was half concealed by a fallen tree. The only
<v Speaker 1>part of the billboard that was visible just had the
<v Speaker 1>words next Generation of Cheese.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know why that got. That's like some man
<v Speaker 3>great revolutions.
<v Speaker 1>On it, and it left me with questions. I feel
<v Speaker 1>only you guys can answer. What is next generation cheese?
<v Speaker 1>What features would you.
<v Speaker 4>Like to see?
<v Speaker 5>She could go a long way because I think Easy
<v Speaker 5>Cheese has been kind of just been in its wheel
<v Speaker 5>since the early nineties, and I could I could use
<v Speaker 5>an Easy Cheese renaissance right about now.
<v Speaker 1>I think you're right there, yeah, thank you.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah. What they asked, what jenn of ches are
<v Speaker 3>we in right now? I think we're in cheese two point.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, No, we got to be in like at least
<v Speaker 1>three or four cheese.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, cheese has been around for a while, okay.
<v Speaker 3>I guess okay, so like we had the first cheese
<v Speaker 3>ever was just we accidentally separated way and and and
<v Speaker 3>the you know, the milk solads all this stuff. So
<v Speaker 3>we you know, we pushed together. We had cheese, and then.
<v Speaker 1>We got back.
<v Speaker 3>That's right. Then we learned about like aging and salting
<v Speaker 3>and flavoring the cheese. More you got your two point oh,
<v Speaker 3>then like three point oh more recently is when we
<v Speaker 3>started adding. The more we're getting stuff like American cheese
<v Speaker 3>and blue cheese. I guess we had blue cheese for
<v Speaker 3>a while by accidentally. No, oh, I love blue cheese.
<v Speaker 3>Everyone's surprised by that. By oh, yeah, give you that
<v Speaker 3>moldy cheese. Put a little honey on it. They got
<v Speaker 3>something going.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, and we're gonna say, there, Jen, I was gonna
<v Speaker 2>ask Dan, have you partaken in blue cheese? Dip.
<v Speaker 5>I'm a big wing guy, and I will always ask
<v Speaker 5>for like, oh, we'll give you one thing a ranch,
<v Speaker 5>one thing in blue cheese.
<v Speaker 4>Just gip it, give me two ranches.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, give me that have.
<v Speaker 2>You tried it?
<v Speaker 1>Though?
<v Speaker 5>I have Spring Street Tavern, my favorite wings place Northeast Minneapolis.
<v Speaker 5>I tried it there and people swear by it. I
<v Speaker 5>don't think it's disgusting necessarily, but definitely I won't take
<v Speaker 5>it over.
<v Speaker 3>I don't. I don't blame people who do, because you know,
<v Speaker 3>it does have that flavor, Like I don't know why
<v Speaker 3>I like it, because it's like, yeah, this stuff tastes it's.
<v Speaker 2>Weird that it goes with wings. Yeah, I don't know
<v Speaker 2>how to put it. Yeah, it's just good.
<v Speaker 3>I put it on a cracker and I'm like, oh, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it's a weird bite to this. I don't know. Uh,
<v Speaker 3>let's say cheese four point zero right now, but what's
<v Speaker 3>cheese five point Oh? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>God shaking real risks with cheese.
<v Speaker 1>Chili's.
<v Speaker 2>Chili's is taking real risks. How triple dippers, baby.
<v Speaker 3>Triple dipperss? Is that too far?
<v Speaker 2>What does that mean? Like?
<v Speaker 1>The CEO of Chili's has revitalized the chain, franchise guy
<v Speaker 1>or the restaurant chain, and people are going crazy.
<v Speaker 2>For triple But what's a triple dipper?
<v Speaker 1>It's like an app like an appetizer play you pick
<v Speaker 1>three apps and you get those the freaks that I
<v Speaker 1>hang out with, maybe just get uh two orders of
<v Speaker 1>like their weird mozzarella sticks that are like kind of
<v Speaker 1>like Bucks.
<v Speaker 2>Oh but so they're not so they're not doing anything unique.
<v Speaker 1>No, but like it's the cheese is pretty consistent. You know.
<v Speaker 3>Let me ask you. This was the stuff crust pizza
<v Speaker 3>more of a revolution for cheese or for pizza. Pizza
<v Speaker 3>can't a pizza.
<v Speaker 2>The former, I love the latter.
<v Speaker 5>I think I love ninety eight percent of different types
<v Speaker 5>of cheese, and I love like some good age like
<v Speaker 5>are just an old fancy like going to Germany and
<v Speaker 5>going to a nice cheese shop and having all that stuff.
<v Speaker 5>But still I had to like Desert Island, you only
<v Speaker 5>get one cheese the rest of your life. Honestly, it's
<v Speaker 5>the fucking ballpark just farted into a little plastic tub.
<v Speaker 5>Like that's like the nacho ballparks or resembleslidjackle Bells is
<v Speaker 5>very very similar, and like I do think that's my
<v Speaker 5>favorite cheese.
<v Speaker 2>I would take fresh mozzarella.
<v Speaker 4>It's great, Sure, that's fantastic.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, I would go bree probably really.
<v Speaker 3>Been a bit of pepper Jack guy recently.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, yeah, you can string cheese now.
<v Speaker 4>I got a bunch of that in the front. I've
<v Speaker 4>been going nuts.
<v Speaker 3>Something good.
<v Speaker 2>You know what?
<v Speaker 1>When I worked at a different sandwichhop, have AARTI always
<v Speaker 1>made me want to party.
<v Speaker 6>Parties my go to for jan How do you feel
<v Speaker 6>about this? I usually buy like a half pound to
<v Speaker 6>a three quarter pound of turkey cracked pepper turkey breast.
<v Speaker 7>When I go to the deli.
<v Speaker 6>I had a but I never quite be able to
<v Speaker 6>finish it because that's like a good I don't like
<v Speaker 6>a huge amount of meat on my sandwiches, like a
<v Speaker 6>few slices, so I always wind up having like five
<v Speaker 6>day old slimy turkey. A friend of mine said to
<v Speaker 6>freeze it between parchment paper and just bring it out,
<v Speaker 6>serving by serving, and I'm curious.
<v Speaker 1>I tried it.
<v Speaker 7>I'll let you know how it goes. But I don't know.
<v Speaker 7>Most frozen meats don't really quite taste the same after
<v Speaker 7>you do'n freeze.
<v Speaker 4>In my find, yeah, agreed, they're cooks.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, what's the what's that Mexican cheese that's.
<v Speaker 3>Spilled real weird?
<v Speaker 4>Is weird?
<v Speaker 2>Because like the waka yeah yeah cheese that that's not
<v Speaker 2>bad that cheese slaps.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. I was. Actually I went to the the Mexico
<v Speaker 3>Restaurant in Epcot on the on.
<v Speaker 1>I don't like that it's called the Mexico Restaurant.
<v Speaker 3>I called that. It's called the Sun on hell In
<v Speaker 3>that's Mexicans in the Mexico Pavilion. It does one of
<v Speaker 3>my favorite things, which is you're inside a building, but
<v Speaker 3>it pretends like you're outside at night.
<v Speaker 2>Like the Oh yeah they do that. Oh is it?
<v Speaker 2>Oh right, I've been to that one and it's like
<v Speaker 2>in the pyramid thing.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, there's a restaurant there.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah. Oh.
<v Speaker 3>My friend's made fun of me because I kept calling
<v Speaker 3>it dinner and talk about how it was the evening
<v Speaker 3>even though it's like two o'clock, and I was just tricked,
<v Speaker 3>all yeah, exactly, Dan.
<v Speaker 1>Do you remember the cheese that we had at packs
<v Speaker 1>when we had dinner with Mary?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that was good.
<v Speaker 4>Hell yeah, hallomy cheese.
<v Speaker 5>Cheese, the grilling cheese, honey on it.
<v Speaker 2>It was.
<v Speaker 7>How do they make what is it made out of?
<v Speaker 7>How does it grill milk?
<v Speaker 5>It's like it's like it's it's like eating a pencil
<v Speaker 5>eraser and tasting pencil a lot of that in high school.
<v Speaker 2>You know what was it called? Again?
<v Speaker 6>H I believe? Yeah, I have a rack of that
<v Speaker 6>in my fridge. I don't know what to do with it.
<v Speaker 7>I got to look at grill it up.
<v Speaker 1>Question.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I have a mustard question.
<v Speaker 5>I'm going to eat a turkey sandwich right after this
<v Speaker 5>podcast is done and mustard and I'm in a mustard
<v Speaker 5>phase right now?
<v Speaker 3>Is arc is?
<v Speaker 5>Some say I also usually before the mustard arc began,
<v Speaker 5>I have this Taco Bell branded avocado ranch sauce that's
<v Speaker 5>really good to put on like a turkey sandwich. Can
<v Speaker 5>avocado ranch and mustard coexist?
<v Speaker 3>Or yeah, put ranch on the one bread and put
<v Speaker 3>some mustard on the other. But I bet that'll taste good.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, nothing weird about.
<v Speaker 2>That band your horizonspan.
<v Speaker 7>You go to TJ's and get some garlic aol and
<v Speaker 7>when you.
<v Speaker 4>Say that stuff, it's very like it is.
<v Speaker 2>People people have bounced off TJ's. I feel like in
<v Speaker 2>in in the last half decade or so saying it's
<v Speaker 2>all like mid and whatever, invating like it's super cheap.
<v Speaker 2>But there are diamonds in the rough that are still
<v Speaker 2>out there. Folks. You got to know where to look.
<v Speaker 2>Some new things have come out in the last three
<v Speaker 2>three years or so. We're going to do a rating
<v Speaker 2>of all the TJ snacks. What's TJ Trader Joe.
<v Speaker 3>See, I don't have I don't got one of those.
<v Speaker 3>I haven't a got wah the German thing that they
<v Speaker 3>did that call these all these all these what nuts.
<v Speaker 4>I had my first belt last weekend.
<v Speaker 7>Whoa branch out there? How did you like it?
<v Speaker 2>It was good?
<v Speaker 5>And so it's ordered because Bonka I had a little
<v Speaker 5>picnic by the lake and I said, let's get some
<v Speaker 5>pop Belly.
<v Speaker 4>That's a chain that's actually a really good sandwich chain.
<v Speaker 5>And they had a b l T A and so
<v Speaker 5>it's a BLT plus a Percado and and she's like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>you gotta get mayonnaise on that. That's you know, like
<v Speaker 5>that's a critical part of the BLT. I did not
<v Speaker 5>know that. This being my first and this being Dan
<v Speaker 5>three point zero, I said, yep, put that MAO right
<v Speaker 5>on there, and I did, and it was delicious. So
<v Speaker 5>it was a twofer at once, my first belt and
<v Speaker 5>my well, no, not the first time.
<v Speaker 4>I've had mayonnaise. I've had alia, but.
<v Speaker 2>It was really your first belt.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, absolutely, Dan, you just like unlocked the memory of
<v Speaker 1>this regular. This is before the Daily Gang. I worked
<v Speaker 1>at a different sandwich place that also sold a b
<v Speaker 1>L t A. But there was this one guy that
<v Speaker 1>insisted on calling it.
<v Speaker 2>The black like that.
<v Speaker 1>I am Les Mulligan and he would dap me up
<v Speaker 1>every time. He was like, what's top jad? He daped
<v Speaker 1>me up and goes like, let me get one of
<v Speaker 1>them bats.
<v Speaker 6>There's a restaurant he wrestled, does a bat which is bacon,
<v Speaker 6>arugula tomato. And I find out, Okay, the problem is
<v Speaker 6>some bots. And I hate to say this sounds sacrilegious.
<v Speaker 6>Sometimes I put way too much bacon on there, like
<v Speaker 6>it's hard to even get through a bite.
<v Speaker 3>Like that's the only thing I'm interested.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, it's interesting.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like bacon is not overly expensive in the
<v Speaker 2>point in the way that they have to be conservative
<v Speaker 2>about it.
<v Speaker 3>You know what I mean, A stomachs or pig excuse me, pig.
<v Speaker 3>I knew that that was just a slip of the tongue.
<v Speaker 3>I know where bacon comes from. Please don't make our
<v Speaker 3>for thread hunt Reddit.
<v Speaker 2>No, you're good, you're good.
<v Speaker 1>We don't have to worry about you. I mean, we
<v Speaker 1>know that spam comes from spam elopes.
<v Speaker 3>Spam elopes. I got, I got a few aging right
<v Speaker 3>now in the basement.
<v Speaker 2>Uh weird? Okay cool?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, took the bit too far. Mark from Glasgow
<v Speaker 1>writesin Hello Giant Bomb. Tenshu has come up in conversation
<v Speaker 1>a conversation a few times in recent months, and given
<v Speaker 1>the extremely high profile of Ninja's this year, I felt
<v Speaker 1>the need to express a passionate opinion of mine. The
<v Speaker 1>Tenshu franchise has been ripe for a reboot for a
<v Speaker 1>long time, given the conspicuous lull in the more traditional
<v Speaker 1>format of stealth games for a decade plus. With Ninja's
<v Speaker 1>being quite popular so in Vogue, it feels like there's
<v Speaker 1>never been a better time than now to reboot a
<v Speaker 1>candidate for best stealth franchise of all time. Furthermore, the
<v Speaker 1>Tenshu ip is currently owned by From Software, with people
<v Speaker 1>responsible for making Sekiro the game with a dude swinging
<v Speaker 1>from a grappling hook on the cover owning the franchise.
<v Speaker 1>I personally feel it is nothing short of rude that
<v Speaker 1>we have heard nothing Tenshu related for so long. The
<v Speaker 1>mechanics of Sekuro applied to a more stealth focused game
<v Speaker 1>would be absolutely fantastic. And I feel like it's a
<v Speaker 1>total no brainer to make that lateral transition. I'd love
<v Speaker 1>to hear your thoughts on the subject. It's the good
<v Speaker 1>work mark from Glasgow in Melbourne.
<v Speaker 3>Oh you know, man, you never say never, but it
<v Speaker 3>just feels like it didn't happen now, especially you know,
<v Speaker 3>it's difficult because from software, Yeah they own Tenshu, they
<v Speaker 3>also have this thing called Sekero Yeah success. Yeah, this
<v Speaker 3>boy is that good. And it's like, if they're gonna
<v Speaker 3>make a game like that again, like, why wouldn't it
<v Speaker 3>be Secoro branded and not instead of Tenchu branded. I
<v Speaker 3>don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I agree.
<v Speaker 6>I'm curious about the allegation of it being the most popular.
<v Speaker 6>It say, the most the best stealth franchise of all time?
<v Speaker 7>Okay, not the most come on now, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I mean it came out the same year as Metal
<v Speaker 3>Gear Saw.
<v Speaker 7>Too that people love.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, does not have the kind of cultural cachet that
<v Speaker 6>I think this might be. Well, that could be wrong,
<v Speaker 6>would you uh ow, there's ten lovers out there?
<v Speaker 2>What would you say?
<v Speaker 1>I would say splinter Cell probably pure stealth. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's like Cooper, does you know, I think you might
<v Speaker 1>be right? Did I think maybe more Sly Cooper heads
<v Speaker 1>out there than ten.
<v Speaker 4>Shoe Yeah definitely.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, God I love Sly Cooper.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, like cool TENU, cool game, and.
<v Speaker 3>I would like to see it come back. I would
<v Speaker 3>be surprised.
<v Speaker 6>They had they had a play based on Tenshu play
<v Speaker 6>stage play adaptation ten Tie Wow.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like uh, I feel like with Ninja's the
<v Speaker 1>interest is kind of shifted away from the stealth aspect,
<v Speaker 1>like even in like Assassin's Creed Shadows, like you don't
<v Speaker 1>have to do.
<v Speaker 5>Prefer Yeah, Ninja guid in two thousand and four, it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>there's no stealth involved there.
<v Speaker 4>You're just doing cool ship. Like that's the better Ninja
<v Speaker 4>stuff I think.
<v Speaker 2>And I mean, we should do a Mount right.
<v Speaker 1>I know we don't do BCR anymore, but we should
<v Speaker 1>find a way to do an EP on a slow,
<v Speaker 1>slow week, to do like Mount rushmore of Ninja's Oh oh.
<v Speaker 3>It's gonna be it's a big I mean I think
<v Speaker 3>that new Ninja Gaidem in the news Shnobi are coming
<v Speaker 3>out the same month or something. Like that rage and
<v Speaker 3>Batman cultural appropriation. Yeah, I don't think he's a real ninja.
<v Speaker 1>As much as I love Naruto, I don't think Naruto
<v Speaker 1>is making the mount rushmore great.
<v Speaker 3>Fox Yeah, Bab's scientist.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, gang, moving along? We did get I do want
<v Speaker 1>to check in. Did anyone do their homework and listen
<v Speaker 1>to the metal band they were recommended last week?
<v Speaker 2>Yes?
<v Speaker 1>I did. I forgot the name of it, but I
<v Speaker 1>really enjoyed it. Anything with a female lead singer that
<v Speaker 1>is adjacent to pop punk, I will eat eat it up.
<v Speaker 7>Sure.
<v Speaker 2>I also like listen to a lot of other people's
<v Speaker 2>recommendations too, So thank you email or whoever that was.
<v Speaker 2>That was very, very kind of recommention.
<v Speaker 7>Who to give you? I forget?
<v Speaker 1>No.
<v Speaker 2>The one I've been listening to is Blood Incantation sounds.
<v Speaker 1>Cool, which was pretty sick. Let me look up mine
<v Speaker 1>real quick.
<v Speaker 4>Actually remember this.
<v Speaker 3>I don't remember this either. Don't worry, Dan, I'm with you.
<v Speaker 1>Uh mine was Blood Command.
<v Speaker 2>Listen to that. I feel like Grub got Devin Townsend
<v Speaker 2>right right? No, no, no, Blood Grove got Blood Incantations.
<v Speaker 4>I think maybe Mike did.
<v Speaker 1>Mike, Yeah, Mike got Devin Townsend, Devin Towns Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>right now, oh right, let's see, let's go up up up. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>We got an email from Eric from Saint Louis. You're
<v Speaker 1>jam You may or may not be aware of this,
<v Speaker 1>but if you are in the company of two, but
<v Speaker 1>you are in the company of two weasels, allow me
<v Speaker 1>to explain. A few we weeks ago, before the launch
<v Speaker 1>of the Switch to one, Jeffrey the untrustworthy Grub looked
<v Speaker 1>straight into a camera and said that if Captain Toad's
<v Speaker 1>switched to upgrade allowed for online co op, he would
<v Speaker 1>stream it alongside Mike the accomplished Minati. Well it happened
<v Speaker 1>with the upgrade, but nary a word from these two
<v Speaker 1>weasels about the stream. So Jan, I think you just
<v Speaker 1>need to add it to the schedule without their approval.
<v Speaker 1>That'll make them show up. We must hold these villains accountable.
<v Speaker 1>Eric from Saint Louis sent from my iPhone.
<v Speaker 5>My bad.
<v Speaker 2>Now, I want to do that.
<v Speaker 3>I keep meaning to play Captain toa It just hasn't happened.
<v Speaker 3>Uh it's gotten busy. Yeah, for sure, I'm gonna hip
<v Speaker 3>the excuse for everything, But I do want to play
<v Speaker 3>some captain to maybe that can be a mega man
<v Speaker 3>some nights if I can get jeff to join me.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about recommendations, al Riley from Indiana sent in a
<v Speaker 1>lot of recommendations for other media as well. Real quick,
<v Speaker 1>good tidings, great bombinos on the latest last episode eight
<v Speaker 1>nine to six. Alex from Australia gave you a metal
<v Speaker 1>album to listen to you for homework and you just
<v Speaker 1>rolled with it. Reading that email was really opening the
<v Speaker 1>floodgates for you guys who live to recommend media. So
<v Speaker 1>I've taken the opportunity to prescribe each of you an anime.
<v Speaker 5>Oh dudes love recommending anime.
<v Speaker 7>It's only three hundred episodes.
<v Speaker 5>More than any other form of media. Anime guys will
<v Speaker 5>let you know what you need to watch.
<v Speaker 1>All right, I'm gonna try and speed through these grub
<v Speaker 1>Despite appearances, Jeffrey Michael Grubb is bit a bit of
<v Speaker 1>an enigma. A taste maker. He is known to enjoy
<v Speaker 1>some dragon Ball, but he doesn't give the impression of
<v Speaker 1>a guy who spends a lot of time with anime
<v Speaker 1>these days to you. I recommend Ping Pong the animation.
<v Speaker 1>It's got sports, it's got music, it's got an endearing
<v Speaker 1>old lady. It's got an unconventional art style atypical for anime.
<v Speaker 1>These eleven episodes are my gift to you. Okay, eleven
<v Speaker 1>episodes can do Mike, He's the Disney guy, He's the
<v Speaker 1>Mega Man guy. He likes light things and doesn't like
<v Speaker 1>dark things or being alone in them. I get the
<v Speaker 1>feeling he's dabbled in anime, but not dug deep. It
<v Speaker 1>is with that in mind that I recommend Keep your
<v Speaker 1>Hands off Isoken, following a group of young folks who
<v Speaker 1>just want to make anime. It's equal parts funny and inspirational,
<v Speaker 1>has some fascinating inside baseball. It's a real gem.
<v Speaker 3>Okay, he backled, pup your hands off of Isokin. Everyone,
<v Speaker 3>He's mine backlart. There are those who call him the coworker,
<v Speaker 3>and there are others who call him the king of anime.
<v Speaker 3>He has a whole show about it, though you might
<v Speaker 3>not know since it's been a month since the last episode.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not counting you. Are you new on this week?
<v Speaker 3>New on this week?
<v Speaker 1>You? I recommend Vinland Saga. It's got spirit, it's got metal,
<v Speaker 1>it's got deep character study, the real things to say
<v Speaker 1>about Humanity's proclivity towards violence and revenge in the challenges
<v Speaker 1>of passivism in a violent world. This, my friend, is
<v Speaker 1>for you, thank you.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of animes have metal bud Okay, just putting
<v Speaker 2>that out there, but I will check this out.
<v Speaker 1>All right, Jan, you know this, You know this one
<v Speaker 1>was actually the hardest for me. Honestly, it was downright stressful.
<v Speaker 1>Jan is a worldly man, Thank you. It has tasted
<v Speaker 1>all coffee, smoked all cigarettes, and sipped all the buzzballs.
<v Speaker 1>As the youngest of the group, I get the feeling
<v Speaker 1>you've seen the most anime and it's hard to figure
<v Speaker 1>out which would what would taste fresh to a developed
<v Speaker 1>tongue to you, I recommend mob Psycho one hundred. It's funny, said, introspective, uplifting,
<v Speaker 1>and just all around tasty stuff. You may have already
<v Speaker 1>seen this. If not, smoke it up I have. It's great.
<v Speaker 6>These are like two mixed metaphors here, like he's going
<v Speaker 6>for a somalia thing first and then smoke it up,
<v Speaker 6>like is he a bud tender for anime?
<v Speaker 7>I don't don't get the.
<v Speaker 2>A bud tender, Hey man, I love that word.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that could be awful.
<v Speaker 1>Last recommendation, Dan, what do you recommend to the man
<v Speaker 1>who hates everything? I don't think Dan hates everything.
<v Speaker 7>To you.
<v Speaker 1>I bestow the gift of Satoshi Cones paranoia agent, thrilling, surreal,
<v Speaker 1>unlike anything you have ever seen. The only naked woman
<v Speaker 1>is an adult and it's very much earned. At twelve episodes.
<v Speaker 1>Twelve episodes, it's only about four episodes long. This is
<v Speaker 1>a show for adults. If you watch four hours long.
<v Speaker 1>This is a show for adults. If you watch it,
<v Speaker 1>you can talk to Kujima about it and look cool
<v Speaker 1>with the deepest sincerity imaginable. Riley from Indiana, Thanks Riley.
<v Speaker 7>Very long, detailed email. That's a really good one. Riley,
<v Speaker 7>thank you.
<v Speaker 2>That Yeah. Last email of the show.
<v Speaker 1>This comes from I'm going to say Miko from Finland.
<v Speaker 7>Hi.
<v Speaker 2>Giint Bomb.
<v Speaker 1>Team Grub talked on game As Mornings about Charlie Cox's
<v Speaker 1>experience working on Expedition thirty three. A similar situation happened
<v Speaker 1>in Finland where two A List actors Marty so solo
<v Speaker 1>Ati in Alan Wake two in Control and Peter Franzen
<v Speaker 1>Costcola Brothers and Alan Wake two, gave interviews after the
<v Speaker 1>release of Alan Wake two s in particular, it was
<v Speaker 1>very surprised but also happy about the new fan base
<v Speaker 1>of young men he gained who previously had no interest
<v Speaker 1>in his films. He also shared how his children's friends
<v Speaker 1>suddenly became eager to meet him and asked about the
<v Speaker 1>game development process. Sossolo had no knowledge of video games
<v Speaker 1>when he joined Remedies Project and was initially very confused
<v Speaker 1>and unsure about how his performance would appear in the game.
<v Speaker 1>His face some challenges with voice acting and motion capture
<v Speaker 1>at first, but in the end he was satisfied with
<v Speaker 1>his performance. When asked if he would make take on
<v Speaker 1>more video game roles, he laughed and said he'd be
<v Speaker 1>available if he could find the time. What's Giant Bomb?
<v Speaker 1>What's the Giant Bomb team's opinion on using famous actors
<v Speaker 1>in video games? Who's your all time favorite and your
<v Speaker 1>least favorite? Thanks for the great show? Nko from Finland and.
<v Speaker 7>The Stone Sweeping Ducks.
<v Speaker 4>I forgot she was in that.
<v Speaker 7>Oh she was in there for one day and disappears.
<v Speaker 6>That's one of those disappointing Like I don't know what
<v Speaker 6>the schedules worked out, but by default.
<v Speaker 7>Emma Stone and Sleeping Ducks because she's adorable.
<v Speaker 2>No shit.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's weird because they're talking about making a movie
<v Speaker 6>of that game now, and I'm like, well, does she
<v Speaker 6>come back?
<v Speaker 7>Probably not, she's an Oscar winning actress, but yeah, but
<v Speaker 7>a fault.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I don't think she makes it back.
<v Speaker 5>I really liked it when it was a novelty, when
<v Speaker 5>it was like, yeah, Bruce Willis for Apocalypse and we
<v Speaker 5>got David Bowie for Amicron the Nomad Soul like such
<v Speaker 5>like oh, their likeness and their voice and everything like Now,
<v Speaker 5>I mean, I don't know. I think I think Kajima
<v Speaker 5>does a great job with it with deatht Randing, although
<v Speaker 5>it's like I was thinking about it with like the
<v Speaker 5>Yoji Shinkawa art and everything, where it's like, yeah, all
<v Speaker 5>the desk Randing art looks incredible, but it's like, Okay,
<v Speaker 5>that's just lay us to do. That's just Norman Readis.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, it looks awesome in his art style. But
<v Speaker 5>I kind of liked seeing his take on like here's
<v Speaker 5>revolver oslau Er Solidsing. Here's like, you know, a totally
<v Speaker 5>original character, you know, And I do feel that, like
<v Speaker 5>like with movies, I think once they started like having
<v Speaker 5>big name voice actors take over a bunch of roles
<v Speaker 5>that like he used to just be voice actors, you know,
<v Speaker 5>kind of like not well known celebrities. Then all of
<v Speaker 5>a sudden, you've got, you know, like Will Smith being
<v Speaker 5>a fish or whatever.
<v Speaker 4>You know, is he Nemo?
<v Speaker 2>No?
<v Speaker 1>No, he was U shark Tail? Was that him?
<v Speaker 4>Oh maybe that's I remember reading like an article back when.
<v Speaker 2>Not Nemo?
<v Speaker 5>No, yeah, everything like, oh yeah, that's I could see
<v Speaker 5>why they'd be frustrating for like a voice actor by trade,
<v Speaker 5>and all of a sudden, it's like, just because you're
<v Speaker 5>not that like super recognizable, you're not going to much work.
<v Speaker 4>So I see that argument.
<v Speaker 3>It's not that he Southern did a bad job as
<v Speaker 3>Snake and soft Fire, but I really disliked the cast
<v Speaker 3>change there. Even Yeah, there's some ways to justify in
<v Speaker 3>that story, but still I didn't like it.
<v Speaker 5>Narratively, you there's definitely way you could have had both.
<v Speaker 5>But yeah, they look, I get it. Twenty four is great,
<v Speaker 5>but you know.
<v Speaker 3>Solid I think the best one ever is Phil Hartman
<v Speaker 3>as Blasto.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, and what's that from.
<v Speaker 3>Blast PlayStation one game. Yeah's some big space guy named Blastom.
<v Speaker 3>It's just Phil Hartman quipping the entire time.
<v Speaker 5>It's not a likeness, but he's just like the voice,
<v Speaker 5>like a very trimic glure voice. It's yeah yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>Then the worst one is Ronda Rowsey, Sonia Blade and
<v Speaker 3>Mortal Kombat eleven. Oh yeah, it's bad. It was like
<v Speaker 3>a recast. They already had a talented voice actor doing
<v Speaker 3>that character in their games, and they just made it
<v Speaker 3>significantly worse for no reason. Nobody was like, oh I
<v Speaker 3>didn't care about more a combat, but now that Ronda
<v Speaker 3>Rowse he's involved, let me get on board.
<v Speaker 1>And I liked that story. And anytime like Ronda or
<v Speaker 1>Sonya Blade opened her mouth and like, it was just
<v Speaker 1>the abysmal performance from Ronda Rowsey.
<v Speaker 4>Jesus, it was so distracting.
<v Speaker 3>Oh they had Megan Fox be a character.
<v Speaker 4>That was pretty rough too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. I think the best job still to this day
<v Speaker 2>is JK. Simmons and Steven Merchant in Portal two.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah yeah, oh.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah that was good. Oh it makes me think of
<v Speaker 3>the Spider Man games. Yeah, Topey Maguire doing like he
<v Speaker 3>was just clearly like this isn't important whatever, like X wait,
<v Speaker 3>millions of people are gonna play this game Toby, he
<v Speaker 3>actually easy to do, a good job, didn't care. It's
<v Speaker 3>almost endearing how lazy his performances are.
<v Speaker 4>I've pretty is kind of an asshole.
<v Speaker 5>What way, there's there's a there's a pr guy in
<v Speaker 5>games has been around for a long time, and story
<v Speaker 5>about how we had to kick him out of a
<v Speaker 5>bowling alley once.
<v Speaker 6>Oh, another couple options here, I'm googling around a little bit.
<v Speaker 6>Aerosmith with Revolution X.
<v Speaker 7>Definitely that was kicks ass.
<v Speaker 6>That arcade, yeah, midway and then uh, kind of one
<v Speaker 6>name keeps on popping up.
<v Speaker 7>Fred Durst in the Fight Club game was.
<v Speaker 5>Apparently Lincoln was in that too, Abraham Lincoln good twist.
<v Speaker 1>Uh. I mostly don't have a problem with celebrities getting
<v Speaker 1>cast in games as long as you know they're taking seriously, right, Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>That's that's my point, jan is that like, for the
<v Speaker 2>most part, they all understand and how important it is
<v Speaker 2>and they take it seriously.
<v Speaker 5>Especially you get like like Samojo and ya oh, he
<v Speaker 5>plays games, he gets it, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Somo is also good in Suicide Squad.
<v Speaker 3>He's good in Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I just don't want voice actors to be put
<v Speaker 1>out of a job because like ye Triple A. Celebrities
<v Speaker 1>are like going to games as like a paycheck just
<v Speaker 1>because man, they're like, you know, Matt Shipman front of
<v Speaker 1>the site, very prolific voice actor. But like other voice actors,
<v Speaker 1>it just like they just get it in a way
<v Speaker 1>that screen actors for your normal screen actors just don't
<v Speaker 1>get that transition.
<v Speaker 6>Well, yeah, screen actors do themselves really well, like they
<v Speaker 6>usually if you have a celebrity in your game, you
<v Speaker 6>wanted to hear like this sound like a celebrity, But
<v Speaker 6>professional voice actors can change their voice and do all
<v Speaker 6>kinds of crazy stuff when they probably like they take
<v Speaker 6>it as.
<v Speaker 5>An art for him, like Ben Starr is Indiana Jones
<v Speaker 5>was way better than Harrison Ford would have been.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, hell yeah yeah, But we had her on the
<v Speaker 1>couch with Ben Star. Ben Star was more cordial when
<v Speaker 1>we had him on the couch than when Dan and
<v Speaker 1>I saw him on the red carpet. Who's weird? Jennifer English,
<v Speaker 1>she was really great and her work is my ol fantastic.
<v Speaker 1>You know shadow heeart, Mike, you still can't fix shadow Heart.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry, I did, am I I'll show you my
<v Speaker 3>savee file sometime Tuesdays.
<v Speaker 1>All right, gag, that about does it. For emails. BombCast
<v Speaker 1>at giant bomb dot com is the email address to
<v Speaker 1>send your emails to Mike Minati's throwing on the glasses. Now,
<v Speaker 1>if we have received any YouTube super chats.
<v Speaker 3>Yes we have. We got to feel here, starting from
<v Speaker 3>Canine Biscuits, who says you are forced to teleport one
<v Speaker 3>fellow Giant Bond member into a super sexy hair I'm
<v Speaker 3>anime and the rest of the crew have to watch
<v Speaker 3>that anime for twelve episodes. I think I know what
<v Speaker 3>a sexy hair anime is just from context. Uh, Like,
<v Speaker 3>I don't think it's not porn. I think it's just.
<v Speaker 6>High school It's just a bunch of high school girls.
<v Speaker 6>You're like a high school guy usually that kind.
<v Speaker 1>Of stuff, like a tenshi muyoh sure, yeah yeah, so
<v Speaker 1>I mean it would it would obviously be fine to watch.
<v Speaker 3>Dan do it, because he would suffer and like want
<v Speaker 3>no part of it.
<v Speaker 1>Right, I think, no, I I transport you, Mike, oh yeah, wow, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>just because I want to see the hijinks and I
<v Speaker 1>want to see you turn comically red.
<v Speaker 3>Like okay, it's just a lot of blushing blushing the anime.
<v Speaker 3>Ok yeah, and then like nosebleeds ye oh right, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>just bleeding everywhere. My thing is I'm going to bleed
<v Speaker 3>out of all the orifices.
<v Speaker 4>Oh christ, I don't want to see the end of
<v Speaker 4>this hair an.
<v Speaker 3>There we go. That's my bit. Uh. Last geek says
<v Speaker 3>when is jan going to get on cameo? My birthday
<v Speaker 3>is coming up and I want him to tell me
<v Speaker 3>he's proud of me.
<v Speaker 1>I thought about this the other day and I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>there's absolutely zero people that would ever want a cameo
<v Speaker 1>from me.
<v Speaker 3>No, I don't take my referral. Already got you already
<v Speaker 3>referraled me. The trade has to move on chance, the
<v Speaker 3>next bug the next little buggy behind me?
<v Speaker 1>All right? Uh okay, yeah, I guess I'll join cameo.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, sybio says Dan with a high real hustle style
<v Speaker 3>game show work and depth stranding. Also shout out to
<v Speaker 3>the big dog Matthew Rory.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think you know again.
<v Speaker 5>Like Zelda as far as open world game, Zelda has
<v Speaker 5>the most you know options for a lot of things.
<v Speaker 5>But dest Training has got a lot of weird items
<v Speaker 5>and stuff and a lot of weird interactions you could do.
<v Speaker 4>There could be something there.
<v Speaker 2>Dan, do you think you'd have to be a like
<v Speaker 2>end game.
<v Speaker 1>To do like that?
<v Speaker 5>Pard is like most of the wackier stuff is kind
<v Speaker 5>of like as you go further, Like you're not getting
<v Speaker 5>the coffin board in the first ten hours, you know, No, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 3>The last one here is from Arnold Diva Karen, Sorry
<v Speaker 3>I horribly pronounced that. Shout out to Matt for mentioning
<v Speaker 3>Brian Eckberg. Remember him being Game spots go to editor
<v Speaker 3>for reviewing all of EA sports games a long time ago.
<v Speaker 7>He was he went on to turn ten. I think
<v Speaker 7>he left for somewhere else.
<v Speaker 6>Ifull he's safe and and doing good things in the
<v Speaker 6>game industry, is a good guy who's there When I
<v Speaker 6>started a game spot in two thousand.
<v Speaker 7>And four, man, the diaspora of those little giant bomber
<v Speaker 7>game Spot editors has been really fun to watch. So
<v Speaker 7>I hope you're doing well.
<v Speaker 3>Brian.
<v Speaker 7>That name is Eckberg.
<v Speaker 6>He went by Meckberg as a social media handle, so
<v Speaker 6>that's why I got confused.
<v Speaker 5>Rory when you said he went on to turn ten,
<v Speaker 5>Like legitimate first thought was how old was he?
<v Speaker 4>When he was a game.
<v Speaker 7>Little baby does for it, right, I know?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, says he's a prodigy. Get literally turning ten years old.
<v Speaker 6>Oh okay, oh yeah, we had.
<v Speaker 7>Some young kids at game Spot. There was a guy
<v Speaker 7>named Avery who came in. He who was like nineteen
<v Speaker 7>or something like that. It was as a handful.
<v Speaker 1>Well how old was like Navarro?
<v Speaker 6>When I was just gonna say he started like sixteen. Yeah,
<v Speaker 6>you started writing really early. I was seventeen when I
<v Speaker 6>started publishing game guides to those so I can honestly
<v Speaker 6>say I've been in this business for almost thirty years.
<v Speaker 6>But given the shape of the games industry, maybe it's
<v Speaker 6>time to find something else. And you have an interview
<v Speaker 6>on Thursday, so send me good, good prayers and hopes
<v Speaker 6>something like that.
<v Speaker 7>It's really fun opportunity for me. I'm looking forward to that.
<v Speaker 6>But but yeah, all.
<v Speaker 3>Right, Well that's it for the super chats, So thank
<v Speaker 3>you so much. Everybody appreciate that.
<v Speaker 1>Back to you, Jam, thank you everyone for the YouTube
<v Speaker 1>super chats. We definitely do appreciate them and all of
<v Speaker 1>the support. Speaking about support, Matthew Rory, where can people
<v Speaker 1>go support you on the internet?
<v Speaker 7>Patreon, dot com, slash Matthew Rory.
<v Speaker 6>Like I said, I'm pretty good on cash for now,
<v Speaker 6>like to the end of the year, so it's not
<v Speaker 6>really gonna be a lot of paid stuff. But if
<v Speaker 6>you want to send me a little tip jar or
<v Speaker 6>something like that, I'm gonna put properly petting puppies down
<v Speaker 6>to the dollar tier, I think, and then we have
<v Speaker 6>some like weird podcast outtakes and higher tiers. But if
<v Speaker 6>you just want to subscribe and read what I'm putting out,
<v Speaker 6>I'm gonna do another long essay about my favorite author
<v Speaker 6>this week and do some other just kind of writing
<v Speaker 6>that comes to mind, and then the podcast will be
<v Speaker 6>every week as well.
<v Speaker 7>Hopefully my wife and I just need to sit down
<v Speaker 7>and do the second episode. But yeah, it's really fun.
<v Speaker 6>Been enjoying kind of getting back into writing, because when
<v Speaker 6>you've been unemployed for like a few months, it's kind
<v Speaker 6>of like there's only so many video games you can play,
<v Speaker 6>which is a weird thing to say on Giant Bomb,
<v Speaker 6>But yeah, I'm trying to be a little more accountable
<v Speaker 6>about writing stuff every every week and doing some more
<v Speaker 6>funny puppy stuff. I had a Holy mac ll The
<v Speaker 6>first thing I want to do when I switched this
<v Speaker 6>Patreon thing down. Is put up the most adorable pug
<v Speaker 6>I've seen in fucking years on that.
<v Speaker 7>Oh a dollar will get you in YO.
<v Speaker 2>Did you all see they patched pugs? What's like the dog? Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>they got like the fixed the breathing.
<v Speaker 7>Okay, yeah, what do.
<v Speaker 1>You mean like they don't you still have your like
<v Speaker 1>smoosh face pugs. But now yeah, shiamarrow. They put ethical
<v Speaker 1>pugs that have like a little bit of a snout.
<v Speaker 3>See.
<v Speaker 6>I would get behind gene editing to make dogs more healthy.
<v Speaker 6>I know there's all these Chrisper stuff about making people
<v Speaker 6>smarter and everything like that, but make dogs healthier and
<v Speaker 6>live longer.
<v Speaker 1>Go for it. Just put it.
<v Speaker 7>Yeah, use your Chrisper.
<v Speaker 2>I mean that's kind of what they're doing with the
<v Speaker 2>with breeding, right, like they kind of are engineering them
<v Speaker 2>in some combatis.
<v Speaker 7>Well with Christopher.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, you can actually put cells into an adult
<v Speaker 6>and have those be what's the.
<v Speaker 7>Word for it.
<v Speaker 6>There's a big long word for like inherited by the
<v Speaker 6>offspring epigenetics. You can actually do that and have the
<v Speaker 6>animal offspring. Because before gene editing you can do that,
<v Speaker 6>it would only affect the person they're putting something into
<v Speaker 6>so exciting times, I totally just go sign. It's go
<v Speaker 6>crazy right now. It's a wild world.
<v Speaker 7>Just do whatever you want, make terminators on them.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, I think athletes should take steroids. Have
<v Speaker 2>you not heard about the Enhanced Games?
<v Speaker 7>Enhanced Games?
<v Speaker 6>There's a dude trying to make steroid legal, uh the
<v Speaker 6>Olympics for steroid users in America, and he wants it
<v Speaker 6>to happen this year and he is going forward with
<v Speaker 6>it and.
<v Speaker 2>The Enhanced Games.
<v Speaker 7>It sounds just like, I mean.
<v Speaker 2>I love the thing that I'm like making a joke about.
<v Speaker 2>You're like, oh no, it's totally too crazy. Look, you know,
<v Speaker 2>if Dan's allowed to have a three point zero, a
<v Speaker 2>pug should be allowed to have a two point Oh.
<v Speaker 1>So there we go, there we go. Have y'all heard
<v Speaker 1>of banana ball? Yes?
<v Speaker 2>Is that that's like the Harlem Globe Trotters for baseball? Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>But yeah yeah yeah, man, gosh. I try, me and
<v Speaker 3>my brothers try to get tickets from the coming to
<v Speaker 3>town so we could take the kids, and like like
<v Speaker 3>five different adults in our group we're in the raffle
<v Speaker 3>or whatever it is, and none of us got in
<v Speaker 3>and it is hot.
<v Speaker 2>I I think it is, like I'm perfectly okay with
<v Speaker 2>it existing. You just don't like baseball, well, I don't
<v Speaker 2>like baseball, but they're trying to like make baseball interesting,
<v Speaker 2>so that's that's a noble effort. I just think there's
<v Speaker 2>certain things in this life, like uh, country music and
<v Speaker 2>wearing flip flops with jeans, and just there's certain things
<v Speaker 2>are just never going to be for me.
<v Speaker 4>And I think how to share that email say I'm
<v Speaker 4>the one who hates everything.
<v Speaker 2>And that's not I dislike a great deal of things.
<v Speaker 2>But look, I'm again happy it exists. It's fine, it's
<v Speaker 2>not for.
<v Speaker 1>Me, Okay, okay, Uh folks, that about does it for
<v Speaker 1>the show the rest of this week. Oh, Matt, may
<v Speaker 1>I give you a suggestion? Sure start a substack as well.
<v Speaker 6>You know that ownership of that whole place is kind
<v Speaker 6>of they're kind of like there.
<v Speaker 2>So Rory, he meant invent your own version.
<v Speaker 7>Of an engineer.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, yeah, you can look it up. It's it's it's
<v Speaker 6>not like a higher moral stands for me. But they're
<v Speaker 6>definitely like free speech absolutionists, which other people say they
<v Speaker 6>are and then or not obviously, but they they allow
<v Speaker 6>some pretty hemous stuff on.
<v Speaker 2>There's that ghost platform.
<v Speaker 6>To Yeah, that's a weird one that's based on GitHub.
<v Speaker 6>I believe I did a lot of research into like
<v Speaker 6>what to put this platform.
<v Speaker 1>Mom.
<v Speaker 6>I just kind of like Patreon has a good CMS
<v Speaker 6>and everything like that, and everybody seems I haven't have
<v Speaker 6>a thing already. But sorry, Jane, I didn't want to
<v Speaker 6>bum me out in face for putting stuff up on
<v Speaker 6>the internet, but just some of the leadership stuff they
<v Speaker 6>said about who they're gonna allow on.
<v Speaker 7>There has been a kind of patrio at least has
<v Speaker 7>all the pornography I want.
<v Speaker 1>There you gosh, Matt Matt Roger Rory, Matthew Rory.
<v Speaker 3>Folks.
<v Speaker 1>The rest of this week, it's gonna be a little
<v Speaker 1>bit of a short week because of the holidays this Friday,
<v Speaker 1>So Gay Mess Mornings popping off Wednesday and Thursday, hosted
<v Speaker 1>by Mike Minatti.
<v Speaker 3>I'm gonna keep doing the news. No one can stop me.
<v Speaker 2>I can't wait for tomorrow to watch you do it.
<v Speaker 2>I just love you a lot, Mike.
<v Speaker 3>I think is this the first time ever there's a
<v Speaker 3>Game Mess Mornings without Jeff Grubb.
<v Speaker 1>NICKI and I did like a fake Game ass Mornings
<v Speaker 1>where we wound up talking about the Food Network, Cinematic
<v Speaker 1>universitys Mornings.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, fake Meth Boys.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, tomorrow, no Blight Club and we're waiting until Grub
<v Speaker 1>is back to start DAN season, so instead we'll be
<v Speaker 1>doing a Dlight Club with Kayla sitting Shotgun I guess
<v Speaker 1>or tomorrow.
<v Speaker 5>He's the Guitar rooman expert. You know, I adore guitar Man.
<v Speaker 5>I've beat in many times. Kayla has beating on master mode.
<v Speaker 5>She can like sing all the songs word for word,
<v Speaker 5>like she's she's the one that'll that'll guide mitched through
<v Speaker 5>Guitar Rooman.
<v Speaker 2>Hell.
<v Speaker 1>Yes. And then later on Wednesday, that's right, we missed
<v Speaker 1>Mega Man, so we're gonna do Wega Man. Mike and
<v Speaker 1>I are going to check out Dune Awakening.
<v Speaker 3>That's right, some MMOs Survival. So people seem to like
<v Speaker 3>this game, so I'm curious to try it out.
<v Speaker 1>Mister Backlar s how you raise a finger?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, While we're promoting a lot of different things, we
<v Speaker 2>should send people to our discord to help Chuck Tawski
<v Speaker 2>out with the Wiki Street Team. That's right, we're rebuilding
<v Speaker 2>this wiki. Oh, I guess people don't know that whole story,
<v Speaker 2>brick by brick. If they have not, they were not
<v Speaker 2>able to tune into the premium Discord town Hall, which
<v Speaker 2>will be up in its replay form on Friday.
<v Speaker 1>Is that correct, Jam, Yes, that is correct. That's right.
<v Speaker 2>So head on over to the Discord, and I believe
<v Speaker 2>Chucksy's gonna maybe unlock that channel for everyone, not just
<v Speaker 2>premium people. But we do need some of that help
<v Speaker 2>that was offered up at the beginning of this new Journey,
<v Speaker 2>new chapter in Giant Bomb to help rebuild that part
<v Speaker 2>of the site. A lot of cool stuff happening down
<v Speaker 2>the road on the horizon, so so go do that.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about the horizons voicemail dumb Truck this.
<v Speaker 2>Week with super I Patch Wolf.
<v Speaker 1>That's right. Oh, we got all the dogs this week,
<v Speaker 1>so seven oh seven Exit flu send your voicemails in
<v Speaker 1>and we can chat about them with John later this week.
<v Speaker 1>Anything else, I'm forgetting boys.

<v Speaker 5>edit in chief of the newly announced Endless Mode. If
<v Speaker 5>you want to look that up. That is Elliest Gaming

<v Speaker 5>we will have Garrett on next week.
