00:00:07 Speaker 1: Welcome back to Golden Hour. I'm Kathy and I'm Joan. 00:00:12 Speaker 2: I'm back filling in this week for season. 00:00:14 Speaker 1: And we have such a special guest this week from Gen season Hakeem and his beautiful girlfriend Monica. Welcome to the podcast, you guys. 00:00:24 Speaker 2: Thanks for having us, Hockem. 00:00:27 Speaker 1: I just got to ask, how did you escort such a beautiful woman. 00:00:30 Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest with you. I don't know, tell out the time. 00:00:34 Speaker 4: I'm like, yo, I tell Monica, I'm punching for sure, meaning like she's. 00:00:39 Speaker 1: Not like batting above your batting average or something to start with that. 00:00:42 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, kicking your coverage the whole thing. 00:00:45 Speaker 6: Yeah, U K. 00:00:49 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but yeah, she's she's gorgeous. 00:00:51 Speaker 4: I want her to talk more because obviously you know me and so forth, it's all about this beautiful woman right here. 00:00:56 Speaker 5: So well, I think it's all about you guys being a couple. 00:00:59 Speaker 2: Now because news. 00:01:01 Speaker 5: I am so glad Monica's now welcomed into Bachelor World. 00:01:04 Speaker 2: We're so happy to have you. 00:01:06 Speaker 1: And before we get started, we gotta say congrats. I mean, that's the story at the hour really is welcome. Welcome Monica? 00:01:15 Speaker 5: Yeah, welcome Monica and like, we want to hear all about your love story. So I know Kathy's had a chance to talk to you, Hakeem, but now we have Monica on and we get. 00:01:25 Speaker 2: To get her perspective a little bit. I mean share how you guys met. 00:01:30 Speaker 7: Okay, yeah, it's the long I talk with my hands out, but it's a long, un twisted, I don't know, roller coaster of a story. So we actually met on Hinge back in twenty twenty one. Twenty twenty one, Hakeem was living in Milwaukee, That's where I'm originally from. We went on a first date and it was probably the longest first. 00:01:53 Speaker 6: Date in history. We spent like three days together, just like five super well. But then we kind of we were together. I don't even know how long we were together for. 00:02:03 Speaker 7: We hit some rough patches in there, some family, my family situations, so we kind of My family is not I don't speak to them anymore. We'll put them out there. I know he spoke about it on the last podcast. 00:02:18 Speaker 1: Yeah he did. 00:02:19 Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, so I don't really am not in touch with any of them, but so we kind of separated and then again he spoke about this, but my brother kind of reached out to him and said some very inappropriate things, and he used some very inappropriate words towards him. 00:02:36 Speaker 6: Which kind of did the opposite effect of I think what my brother was trying to do, and really like brought us back into each other's life because I was extremely embarrassed. 00:02:45 Speaker 7: So I was checking in on him like I'm so sorry, like you don't deserve that kind of thing. 00:02:52 Speaker 6: And that was right after you got back from. 00:02:56 Speaker 7: Filming, I think, so like he was doing his thing. I was, you know, kind of healing in my own sense and you know, going through my own traumas and doing all that. 00:03:07 Speaker 6: And then we just were like friends for a while. 00:03:09 Speaker 7: We just kind of were friends with social I needed Yeah, I was like. 00:03:14 Speaker 6: You need some help with your social media. 00:03:17 Speaker 1: So I just that is such a good pickup line, That is such a good right. 00:03:22 Speaker 7: Yeah, but no, he really was struggling just to like post whatever. So I was like, let me at least help you. I was a teacher. I was teaching elementary kids, so I didn't really know either, but I was I was willing to, you know, help him learn. And then, yeah, we were just friends. His family was super great, just like knowing kind of what was going on with my family, so like they could invite me for holidays so I wouldn't have to be alone like that. Yeah, his family's great. And then I left teaching. So I taught elementary kids for ten years, and. 00:03:56 Speaker 1: I bless you, bless you. I taught middle school Monica, and I love the school, but elementary, Oh, I don't know. 00:04:02 Speaker 5: My daughter's a third grade teacher. Oh yeah, my daughter's a third grade teacher. And my son went to Marquette in Milwaukee. I'd like, we're captain already. 00:04:12 Speaker 1: Wow. 00:04:12 Speaker 6: Yeah, I taught. 00:04:14 Speaker 7: So my first three years, I taught Milwaukee Public Schools, which was its oh beast, and I taught there was a mess, but I taught for a second and third grade there. And then I taught in West Dallas Public Schools and I taught a mix of fourth and fifth grade combination straight grade. 00:04:30 Speaker 1: Wow. 00:04:31 Speaker 6: I loved it, but my mental health was tanking. 00:04:35 Speaker 7: I like to say, I was really good at it, and I was really good with the naughty kids, and so I kept getting all of them like they're my babies. I would take them home. But my mental health was struggling. So I last year was my last year teaching, and I got a new job in like in Illinois, so I moved to Chicago, and that's kind of when we really reconnected. 00:04:59 Speaker 6: And then after Paradise we just kind of you are. 00:05:03 Speaker 1: So are you guys living together in Chicago? 00:05:06 Speaker 6: Yes? We are. 00:05:07 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:05:08 Speaker 7: No, I do have to say I'm thankful Susan was not on Paradise. 00:05:13 Speaker 1: Let me just say, Monica, I wanted to say this to our keem. First of all, Susan is so broken hearted she could not do this podcast. She was broken hearted when she heard that from the last podcast, when she heard that you were back with Monica. Now to find out that you two are expecting a beautiful baby girl, she's devastated. She is crying in her soup, and she may also be and she may also be traveling hackeen. But just want you to know you've broken out anything. 00:05:42 Speaker 2: But I got to be here and now I have a huge question on both of you, because you are the cutest couple. I love, love love. 00:05:48 Speaker 5: I want to go back a little bit to twenty twenty one if you don't mind, If you don't want to answers, you certainly don't have to, but I'm wondering if that initial breakup, when you first broke up was that was were you making an effort to try to reconcile with your family Monica, or were you and see that you could work that out and figure it out and maybe always had him still be in the back of your mind a little bit. 00:06:08 Speaker 2: I feel like that could be it. 00:06:10 Speaker 4: So let me let me I'm gonna take that one, because the first breakup was my fault, right. 00:06:14 Speaker 3: I'm a person that's big. 00:06:15 Speaker 1: On you, know what I mean, All problems are going to be your fault just right, very well. 00:06:23 Speaker 3: So I'm gonna be honest with you. 00:06:25 Speaker 4: Me getting into a relationship right after So before I met Monica, I was in a relationship wasn't the best relationship in the world, So I need a time to heal. 00:06:35 Speaker 3: But at the time, I'm going to be honest with you, I didn't know how to be alone. 00:06:39 Speaker 4: Just to be frank with you, right, So at that time, like me, I met Monica and she filled the void at the time, unfortunately, just to say that, right, But then my ex girlfriend came back, and then I got back with my ex girlfriend. But during the time I was with my ex girlfriend, I was thinking about Monica. 00:06:55 Speaker 3: All the time. 00:06:56 Speaker 4: I was like, Yeah, this, this, this is not the relationship I want to be. So then you know, I get a text message from Monica all of nowhere because we were watching this show called We're watching a random show, right, We're watching the show, and she was like, oh, what channel was that show we were watching on? And I'm like, obviously she should know that. 00:07:14 Speaker 3: It is Google. 00:07:16 Speaker 2: Good job, Monica. 00:07:18 Speaker 1: I like your pickup lines mony thank you, very creative. 00:07:21 Speaker 6: Thank you. 00:07:23 Speaker 5: It's actually a little transparent, which is kind of good because he gets what you're actually going for. You weren't actually asking a question which you gave him, like the knowledge to know that he. 00:07:31 Speaker 1: Gave him the opening. So when I want to I want to ask a question about you said Monica that you're not in touch with your family. I have to say to you, my in laws never liked me. We always had a tough relationship in my almost forty six years of marriage. Do you feel like this and again anything you don't want to answer, but do you feel like, especially being pregnant, do you feel like the door might be open for or or do you want the door to be open to No, I don't. 00:08:06 Speaker 7: There are some other things Besides that Hakim shared about like the racism whatever, there. 00:08:11 Speaker 6: Was some family secrets I've learned, okay that I didn't know from when I was. 00:08:17 Speaker 7: A baby that I found out also recently that my mother she doesn't know how to take accountability. 00:08:24 Speaker 3: Or she was also having an affair to say, say say. 00:08:27 Speaker 7: My mom was having an affair, so that I found out, And she just doesn't know how to take accountability and she always is the person who plays the victim and like will cry and things like that, so I don't really trust her. And yeah, so I I was actually kind of the other day when I wasn't feeling great. I was crying, and I was just like I miss having a mom. And Hakim is great, He's like, if you want that relationship, like you can, and I was just like, I don't want the relationship with her. 00:08:58 Speaker 6: Like I just missed that thought and that like idea I get out being a mother. 00:09:03 Speaker 1: Yeah, well, let me just say, Monica, Susan is out. We're not. That's not allowed, but Joan and I are available to be your surrogate moms. 00:09:10 Speaker 6: I would love that. I would love that. 00:09:12 Speaker 1: Count us in kind of Yeah, let's jump to something happier here. Yeah, I want to know if do you think you guys would have connected Monica if you had been on the beaches of Paradise. Do you think you two would have connected that way on Paradise, both. 00:09:29 Speaker 7: Of both of us, Like if we didn't know each other and we met on Paradise. 00:09:32 Speaker 6: Is that what you're kind of saying? 00:09:33 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, man, probably. 00:09:36 Speaker 4: I ain't gonna lie to you. I don't want to go against the competition that we got on the beach. We had dal on their got on there. I don't want to say nothing, but I'm just gonna say if she was on there, I'm for sure she's my She's my type to the te right. But I ain't gonna sit here say that I'm better looking at all that I know what I bring to the table. Yeah, those guys were tense. 00:09:56 Speaker 1: Straight you're attend two, don't yourself twos? 00:10:00 Speaker 3: But I do. 00:10:00 Speaker 7: I think our personalities vibe. We're both a little weird in a way and are weird matches each other's weird, like we it's really like we both like random things, like the houses at eighty degrees always, like the air is. 00:10:17 Speaker 6: At eighty, the heat at eighty. 00:10:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, temperatures. You have half your marriage figured out, you guys. 00:10:26 Speaker 3: Yes, girl, Yes, Kathy. I was just telling her. I was like, me and Kathy have so much in common. 00:10:31 Speaker 1: Review don't you start team? No, No, don't you start. If Susan war here, I'd be, I'd be Yesterday's news. 00:10:37 Speaker 3: Don't No, no, no, It's different with Susan. 00:10:40 Speaker 4: It's like a crush, crush all like my girl. Like you are like out there you you you, You. 00:10:51 Speaker 3: Are very transparent forward. 00:10:53 Speaker 4: That's why I love you because you don't you can't bullshit a bullshitter and you are just you, just right to the point, just like me. 00:11:01 Speaker 3: So that's what I was telling. I was like, so much like me. 00:11:04 Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I think I'm going to say thank you. 00:11:07 Speaker 3: I'm going to get there, thank you. 00:11:10 Speaker 1: I love you, Hockey Monica. When is this adorable? Because I'm all about babies, dahn and I love babies. When is this adorable? Darling? Do and have like you? 00:11:24 Speaker 7: Dated October twenty eighth O. Yeah, I'm kind of hoping for Halloween baby. 00:11:30 Speaker 5: Yeah, you're you're all about the holidays because you announced your baby on April Fool's Day, which I have to ask you about that. It's a funny thing because I'm sure everybody thought that was an April fool's I mean shock and I did something weird of like having a baby, and I can't remember what we did. He posted it and I just like collabed on it, and all of a sudden people are message, I mean, like, what's going on? So you of being to maring age. People must have thought that was a joke. 00:11:54 Speaker 7: Yeah, it was very intentional. I have gone to the doctor I think a week before even and we were just calling people and it kind of fizzled into that time and someone I think suggested like, that'd be hilarious if. 00:12:09 Speaker 6: You guys did that, and she was like, oh, yeah, we're. 00:12:13 Speaker 7: Posting it then, and I had like the few cousins who I talked to, I like one of my cousins and her kids were like, oh, I honestly thought it was a joke until like we did the gender reveal, and I think that's when people were like, oh, wait, no, that's. 00:12:30 Speaker 1: Exactly that's too far. 00:12:32 Speaker 2: Yeah, possibly still be a joke. 00:12:34 Speaker 1: So so now I'm I'm old enough to be your mother, both of your mother's and I got to ask because that's who I am, like, I know, first of all, I'm so happy for you, guys. That goes without saying that you are a lovely couple. I'm so happy. I love babies. I'll come and babiesit for you. I want to come to the baby shower, caem He'll send you my address, but I want to not like, do you guys think about this me being old fashioned? Don't you? Do you talk about getting engaged or married or any of those things? Yeah? 00:13:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well. 00:13:09 Speaker 6: You take that. 00:13:09 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, uh so, first things first, I was probably gonna do like a just like a courthouse one really quickly so she can go on to my insurance. 00:13:16 Speaker 3: That's probably the most important. 00:13:18 Speaker 1: Just like logistically, right, So romantic came out. 00:13:22 Speaker 5: And I know what, I love that practical side of you because you're having a baby and you need to think practically about that is so smart. 00:13:31 Speaker 1: I'm gonna give you wait, I'm gonna give you an option right now. I want you to listen carefully. I'm being your mother here. Yes, let's let's reframe this whole thing. Why don't you right now get on one knee on this podcast and ask that beautiful woman to marry you? Right here that as I'm deadly sorry. 00:13:48 Speaker 3: I mean, she already is gonna we're already gonna get married. Do you want me to be more romancic? 00:13:52 Speaker 7: Yes? 00:13:53 Speaker 1: I don't want to hear about insurance. I want you on your knee. I'll give you the words if you can't come up with them. 00:13:58 Speaker 2: You can't do this to that? 00:14:00 Speaker 3: Will you? 00:14:00 Speaker 6: Will you miss hand? 00:14:02 Speaker 1: Watch me? 00:14:03 Speaker 3: Will you marry me? 00:14:04 Speaker 6: I would love to y Yeah, yeah, she said. 00:14:10 Speaker 3: Yeah, she'suid. 00:14:11 Speaker 4: She's the fourth Cupid, the fourth goal humid. Right there, that works. 00:14:16 Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you this is our first proposal on on our podcast. So you guys have you yes, yeah, you're now officially engaged. 00:14:28 Speaker 3: I have what we have. 00:14:28 Speaker 4: I'm actually looking to get in a ring for her and all that. Obviously, I'm doing it more on the secret side, getting secret side, So I'm getting kind of a ring put together for her, because I also have another diamond ring as well, so we're gonna repurpose those and then we're gonna add to it as well. 00:14:44 Speaker 1: So wait, I'm sorry, you have a diamond ring already. 00:14:48 Speaker 7: So it's a I have a diamond ring from it's actually my mom for one of my graduation gifts because my parents are divorced obviously, But I mean, but she had repurposed her wedding ring and gave it to me for one of my graduation guests. So I actually have the diamonds and that. So then I've actually given it to him and I've said use it how you want, so you have. 00:15:16 Speaker 2: A starter ring, yeah, to make it even better. 00:15:19 Speaker 7: And I was like, I don't want this ring, Like, but we can use the diamonds. We can trade the diamonds in, we can whatever. 00:15:24 Speaker 1: This is so exciting. How do I love that Joan and I are available to prefer on design. Should you need help? Oh very much. Yeah. 00:15:32 Speaker 2: I've had many diamond rings in my life. 00:15:34 Speaker 5: I had a very generous husband for many years before he passed away. 00:15:37 Speaker 2: And now I have chalk and I have a vetination diamond ring. 00:15:40 Speaker 1: I have one. I have one. 00:15:43 Speaker 3: How'd you and chalk? I mean, is the man? 00:15:45 Speaker 2: Thank you? 00:15:46 Speaker 5: He's great, We're awesome. He was here for Easter and then I'll see him again. Like we have a little bit of a stretch because I'm super busy for some reason in this month. 00:15:55 Speaker 2: It's very weird. 00:15:56 Speaker 5: I'm doing press for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, and so I have a lot to do for that right this month, and then I will see him in the beginning of May. 00:16:03 Speaker 2: Yeah, so great, But thank you for asking. 00:16:05 Speaker 3: Thanks for yours? Oh sorry, go ahead, go ahead. 00:16:08 Speaker 1: I said you want to know about my love life too? 00:16:10 Speaker 3: Or is this just about to ask you about you and Keith? 00:16:14 Speaker 2: What Keith my ex boyfriend? 00:16:18 Speaker 1: Yeah, Keith and I have I'm teasing you, girl. 00:16:22 Speaker 3: You know I'm teasing you. 00:16:23 Speaker 1: You know, last time you were going to find me. Yeah, Keen, You're gonna find me somebody. Last time we talked, just saying, but you've been busy, getting engaged, having babies. I get it. You're busy. 00:16:35 Speaker 4: You're too youthful, You're too good for these guys that are out here. 00:16:38 Speaker 3: Like I've already told you, you need to. 00:16:40 Speaker 4: Be dating somebody younger than you, like I'm talking like forties, That's what I'm saying. 00:16:47 Speaker 3: I know that's crazy to say, but you are so fun. You don't want a guy, I mean from my point of view. 00:16:53 Speaker 4: Obviously I can't tell you what you want right, but in my eyes, I picture you with somebody that has like your type of energy, like you're just like you're just so bubbly like, and I don't want somebody that's on the college and needs viagora and all that stuff, you know what I mean? Like, seriously, I'm so serious my show already so I can help. 00:17:11 Speaker 7: I'm just saying, I'm you never know what's going to come out of his mouth, I promise. 00:17:15 Speaker 1: Well, that's why I love him, because you never know what's coming out of mind either exactly. All right enough in my day, I want to go back to baby. I want just real quickly, how do you feel having a girl? Did you want a boy? Did you care? We all say ten fingers, ten toes, How did you feel? 00:17:30 Speaker 7: I I mean, I think every woman secretly wants a girl, right, But I was convinced it was a boy. 00:17:36 Speaker 6: Like I was convinced Baby was going to be a boy. So when I saw. 00:17:41 Speaker 7: It was a girl, That's why my reaction was what it was because I was like, I was so convinced it was a boy. 00:17:47 Speaker 6: But I'm so happy to have our little girl come in. 00:17:51 Speaker 2: And how do you feel about being a girl? 00:17:52 Speaker 1: Dad? 00:17:54 Speaker 3: Yeah, I knew it was going to happen to me. 00:17:55 Speaker 4: I knew it was going to happen to me because all my life, when I grew up from high school to now, I'm like, yo, I want four boys. We're gonna have like a four no no, no, no relay team. 00:18:07 Speaker 3: I wanted exactly. I wanted my last one to be the you know, the anchor for us. 00:18:13 Speaker 4: So but that plan has uh obviously changed so that I knew that was gonna happen to me. 00:18:19 Speaker 3: But I'm so happy just to have a healthy baby. I don't know how I'm gonna be a girl dad. 00:18:25 Speaker 1: You're gonna do with lots of love in your heart. It's all She's gonna have you wrapped around her finger. That's exactly what you're gonna That's right. Your your world is going to be making her and Monica happy. That's gonna be your world now, yeah, I mean it's. 00:18:41 Speaker 7: Already already, that doesn't He has four sisters and grew up really with his mom and there's. 00:18:49 Speaker 2: So he knows how to do this exactly. 00:18:51 Speaker 7: Yeah, he's gonna be oh gosh, yeah, he's gonna be a great girl dad. 00:18:58 Speaker 5: I have I have two kids, expecting little girls, both in June, so my son is going to be the first time being a girl dad. 00:19:07 Speaker 2: June twenty second. 00:19:07 Speaker 5: Then my daughters also do June twenty second as well, as well as one of our producers here is also jewy. 00:19:13 Speaker 1: Everybody is. 00:19:14 Speaker 5: But I bet friends June thirty eight, So I mean that's the end and all girls so good friends. 00:19:21 Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, I'll be friends. 00:19:23 Speaker 2: But I'm watching my son. 00:19:24 Speaker 5: I'm watching my son in law, how they're stepping up, how they're being good partners to their pregnant wives. 00:19:30 Speaker 2: Tell me, how are you doing? What are you doing? What are you doing to make her feel comfortable and special and cared for? 00:19:34 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I think first things first, I mean, she never is at the toilet by herself. 00:19:38 Speaker 3: I'm with her. 00:19:39 Speaker 2: Oh, she's the beautiful hair holding her hair back. 00:19:42 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's exactly what I do. I'm misogyn watching the and then like I try to make her food. I also say, oh what I just said, uh huh oh. 00:19:53 Speaker 4: But also just like I think, just the little things that may be like kind of tedious for her, I try to make sure to make her life easier because obviously I don't know how it is to be pregnant, and I don't want to know how it feels, respectfully, But like I think at the end, of the day, Like I want my daughter to see how a man respects a woman. So like for me, it's most important for me to always set that because my sisters don't have that right. So I'm trying to break like generational shortcomings that I have in my family. So being with Monica throughout the whole entire process, with her being pregnant, watching whatever she wants, to watch her crying if she just randomly starts crying. 00:20:31 Speaker 2: Nasty. 00:20:32 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean she gets weird cravings, like she might want McDonald's, and then all of a sudden she changes her mind and she wants blowney standwich. 00:20:39 Speaker 3: Like you know what I mean, Like like like what's going on? Like you know what I mean? But whatever she wants, it's might command, you know. 00:20:44 Speaker 1: So I gotta say, Hakeem, you love you. Yeah, we love you. But I have to say, you know, since I've met you and we always joke around and have fun. But I don't know if you remember I said to you at one point there is a side of you that is that I know. I'm thankful. 00:21:13 Speaker 3: Fact hackem. 00:21:19 Speaker 2: Do you have any pregnancy cravings? And are you gaining weight a little bit too? 00:21:24 Speaker 4: Like a lot of no, no, no, I would say, the only pregnancy cravings I get. 00:21:33 Speaker 5: Let's go, let's Monica, spill the teap whatever you're about to say. 00:21:37 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's it. 00:21:40 Speaker 6: What is it? 00:21:41 Speaker 2: You heard me? 00:21:43 Speaker 6: You heard it right? 00:21:46 Speaker 1: You know why sex is so great when you're pregnant? 00:21:48 Speaker 3: Girl? 00:21:49 Speaker 1: Why she can't get pregnant? 00:21:52 Speaker 2: Pregnant? 00:21:53 Speaker 4: It's the best, but she feels so like off, so like she can't like you know what I mean, maybe him as hell, Like at two thirty pm work and she's like, well, if you want to have sex, I'm like. 00:22:03 Speaker 5: Your computer, I'm out. 00:22:09 Speaker 4: I'm sorry to be too over very okay, yeah, from being too out there graphic graphic. 00:22:16 Speaker 3: Yeah, I have that. 00:22:18 Speaker 5: You know what, It's so great that you're being honest about that, because I think that you're not the only person that had that crazy by the way, So it's. 00:22:23 Speaker 3: All good, but it's also understanding. 00:22:25 Speaker 4: While she doesn't have that limito as I have, because her loving kind of goes down doing the first trimester and second trimester. 00:22:33 Speaker 6: I just don't want to be thrown up. 00:22:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's gonna end U truly that somehow you you meet that twelve week mark and all of a sudden, you're just ravenous. Everything's great. Yeah, second morning, noon, and night, and you're good. You're good to go. 00:22:49 Speaker 7: In twelve weeks. I'll be thirteen weeks on Wednesday. So like a couple of days I've noticed, Like I even was telling Hakim, I was like, I feel more like myself, Like I don't feel as bad. 00:23:01 Speaker 1: So do you have names picked out? Are you going to share with us? Names? 00:23:05 Speaker 6: We'll share. Yes. Marley Marie. 00:23:10 Speaker 1: Love that Marley Marie. 00:23:12 Speaker 6: That is so yeah. 00:23:14 Speaker 1: Job guys, Yeah, where did that come from? How did you choose that name? 00:23:18 Speaker 2: Marlee? 00:23:19 Speaker 7: So Marley from Bob Marley Love it from him being Jamaican. So we had boy names and girls names. Actually we've talked even before I was pregnant. They're both very Jamaican influence. And then Marie is my middle name, and so it's kind of like float flowed, flowed nice. And then her middle name is going to be Bliss, which is his mom's maiden name. 00:23:45 Speaker 1: Oh wait a minute, Marley Marie is her first name. Yes, I'm going to call her Eminem's so cute. 00:23:54 Speaker 7: Yeah, so we're both eminems because my name is Monica Marie then Marley Marie, so will both be them? 00:24:00 Speaker 1: Oh what's your middle name for you? Wow? 00:24:07 Speaker 3: I'm definitely. 00:24:08 Speaker 4: If I have a boy, I would never name him the Hawkeeen. Let me tell you the struggle going through a drive through and you're like Yoen, They're like Joaquin No, hackeen, Haquen. I was like, you know what, Monica, It's all good. 00:24:21 Speaker 1: It's like Jacquellyn no, Jacqueline. Okay, are you doing natural childbirth, which I highly recommend not doing, but you are going to do. 00:24:37 Speaker 7: I was talking about this with my friends. So my two of my best friends have babies already. They're like two and one and a half and then the one is having another one and I don't know. 00:24:48 Speaker 6: I was talking about it. 00:24:49 Speaker 7: Like I may try and then you know, it may come to the point where the upple durrol is needed. But I know, like once you get it, you can't really always feel your contractions. 00:25:00 Speaker 1: Trust me, I had three. I did fine. I pushed a three four, pushed four out with epils. Thank you so much. Here's my thing, Monica. I felt like these doctors had gone to school and researchers had figured out how to push your baby without out without a lot of pain, and I wanted to make them feel that I respected. 00:25:22 Speaker 3: Can I ask you ladies this, like what is? Because she was talking to me about it, I'm like, do whatever. 00:25:26 Speaker 4: You gotta do because I don't care if it's whatever natural or I don't know, whatever you gotta do to get the Baby'll do what you gotta do, right, What is this such a thing of like a natural birth versus an epidural birth. 00:25:37 Speaker 1: Like epidural they jam you with a needle that makes you numb from basically the waist down, but you can you can feel the contractions that just don't hurt. You can push, you can do it all. It just you do it without pain. It's like, you know, well, it's like. 00:25:57 Speaker 3: It's still natural. Is coming out your veal can? 00:26:00 Speaker 1: So like, how does not come because because you're drugged instead of natural means no? No, uh uh, you know it's it's it's natural meaning you get no medication. But like I said, all those researchers, you know, Eli, Lilly, all those companies spent years figuring out how to let a woman have a baby without pain. And I wanted to reward that, so bring it on. And in fact, you guys, when I had my first child, true story, I went into labor and when I found out it was pregnant at three months, I asked my ob for for the epidural and he started laughing. I said, I'm not kidding. I'm really pain averse. And so when I got there in labor, the nurse came in and said to me, who are you? And I said, what do you mean? Who am I? Like, all I want is that epidural. And she said, well, my doctor his name, she said, he said to give you the first epidural. Like who are you? I said, he's just a smart man who knows I can scream. 00:27:01 Speaker 5: I actually tried to do my third, no, my third child, without an epidural, and I got like six or seven centimeters into it and I was like, give me the freaking needle. 00:27:14 Speaker 2: So I don't recommend it. I tried it. I don't recommend it. So I had four. I mean, do whatever you want, like you said, you can take it whenever you want. 00:27:21 Speaker 1: Just just know, Monica, if you went down so my third window, each one gets easier, right, my third one. They were inducing me although I didn't. I got to the hospital, was already in labor and I was at six centimeters, which you know is pretty and they didn't get an abiduaal I said, right now, not a second leader, because if you go too far, you know, you chake out the epidural. And it didn't hurt it six centimeters. But you know what, I am not a Vegas girl. I was not taken that bet. I wanted to make sure that easily. 00:27:50 Speaker 5: Okay, I want to I want to fast forward though to okay, baby is born. You guys like have such a really cute raport with each other, and I'm dying to see you as parents. What kind of parents do you think you're going to be. Who's going to be the strict one, who's gonna be laid back one? Is there going to be a strict one? 00:28:09 Speaker 1: That they know this? Joont But go ahead, I'm dying to hear their answers, so I will. 00:28:14 Speaker 6: Say how he will most likely be the strict one. 00:28:17 Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, but with having my education background too. 00:28:21 Speaker 6: I'm like, true, you know, like I I don't know. 00:28:24 Speaker 7: I I feel like being a mother has always been in my nature. Like everyone's like, you're going to be such a good mother, like you were born to be a mother. 00:28:32 Speaker 6: So I don't know. I think we're going to be kind of like easygoing parents to a degree. There's gonna be a lot of music in our house. 00:28:38 Speaker 1: Yeah, just hold that baby a lot. Baby, they grow so quickly. 00:28:43 Speaker 6: A lot of books, a lot of reading. 00:28:45 Speaker 7: And when I when I left teaching, I kept like six spins of books, like I'm like, I can get rid. 00:28:52 Speaker 6: Of on my kept sixty books. We actually got into a fight about. 00:28:55 Speaker 3: It because I wanted to get rid of he wanted to get rid of them. 00:28:57 Speaker 6: I said, no, I'm not going rid of these never. 00:29:00 Speaker 7: And then I got pregnant and he was like, yeah, good thing we didn't get rid of those. 00:29:05 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:29:06 Speaker 7: So it's a lot of like play, a lot of just reading reading. 00:29:11 Speaker 4: Yeah, learning, I can say though, Like for me, if I was gonna I was scared to have a boy. 00:29:17 Speaker 3: Too because I was scared I might be too hard on my boy. 00:29:20 Speaker 4: But having a daughter, I think it's going to kind of have a different shift a mindset. 00:29:26 Speaker 3: You know. 00:29:27 Speaker 4: Obviously I'm not going to be strict, but I'm going to make sure, like you know, like to be very very much on board with things. 00:29:34 Speaker 1: If that make him fun, I'm going to go with this. I think that when this beautiful Marlee Marie is oh let's call her sixteen and dad, I've got a date tonight with Hakim Junior, you are not going to be easy going about it at all. 00:29:56 Speaker 7: No, he is not going to be one boy, don't be Yeah, no, she she she's seen it, like like right, like what a week ago. 00:30:05 Speaker 4: I was this guy my sister, Oh yeah, sister was eating and I just wasn't in the pay like I was on the same what would you say? 00:30:14 Speaker 6: I was just I was realized it was like someone. 00:30:17 Speaker 3: Yeah, so like he was there. 00:30:20 Speaker 4: So I gave him a big conversation like kind of just like how everything is, like what's your plan in life? 00:30:25 Speaker 3: All those things. 00:30:26 Speaker 4: I'm very straight to the point in your face, like if you're uncomfortable with me, that means you're not for my sister, you know. So yeah, I was very much just like on it with him, and he took it very well. And he's he's twenty seven, So. 00:30:38 Speaker 1: He's really well he got the first train out of town and. 00:30:41 Speaker 3: Yeah, I love that. 00:30:43 Speaker 8: But you have some good practice now you've had with even his girlfriends too, like he has some really great girlfriends, but they have a new man in their life. 00:30:54 Speaker 3: Yes it's you. 00:30:56 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, So speaking of your family, who in Bachelor Nation besides Joan and myself, who's going to be who's going to be the official aunties and uncles for your you know, who's in. 00:31:11 Speaker 3: Take the wheel for for a little bit? 00:31:13 Speaker 6: Well, yeah, so Graham and Brandon. 00:31:16 Speaker 7: Brandon was actually the first person to know because Hakeem was not himself and like having like whatever. 00:31:24 Speaker 6: So Brandon was like, what what's wrong, dude, Like what is going on? 00:31:29 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:31:29 Speaker 7: He called Brandon right away. So Brandon having a secret. We joked that Brandon's our son, like just jokingly. He calls us like mom and dad sometimes. So brand and Brandon are like probably. 00:31:40 Speaker 6: The most excited out of all of them. Jonathan Jonathan, I would say, who else? 00:31:49 Speaker 2: Can you tell me? 00:31:50 Speaker 6: Brandon? 00:31:50 Speaker 2: Who just for Bachelination?
