<v Speaker 1>Hey everybody, it's Tuesday, February third, twenty twenty six.
<v Speaker 2>Welcome to the Giant BombCast, Episode nine hundred and twenty six.
<v Speaker 2>I am your host, Jan Oshowa joining me co captain
<v Speaker 2>of the ship, fresh off a successful charity stream. Jeff
<v Speaker 2>Grub I'm back.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, thanks for having me, Jan.
<v Speaker 2>He himself is almost the perfect weapon when it comes
<v Speaker 2>to organization and content. We got Dan Reichert.
<v Speaker 3>I'll take half of that equation, Jan person, what about that.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know about the organization part.
<v Speaker 2>What are you talking about? We were we're putting stuff
<v Speaker 2>on calendars and everything sec dates. There we go.
<v Speaker 4>That's true. Yeah, it's crazy here.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's speaking about crazy here.
<v Speaker 4>We got the bird boy of games media. My like, oh,
<v Speaker 4>I slept poorly and woke up very late and didn't
<v Speaker 4>get to eat before this, so I'm going to be cranky.
<v Speaker 2>Look ow Moody, Mikey, everybody.
<v Speaker 1>That's one of my faves. Moody fair you showed up
<v Speaker 1>on time. You're not even the bad boy this week.
<v Speaker 1>The bad boys clearly, Jeff, Jeff Backlar.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, down, I can't say I can't be mean.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, oh.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I bet he's thrilled.
<v Speaker 2>He's probably going he's watching anime somewhere. I mean, do
<v Speaker 2>you need internet to three D print? I don't know anymore.
<v Speaker 4>No, not what he's three D printing?
<v Speaker 1>All that comes from a USB and the mail You don't.
<v Speaker 4>I do want an update about a dragon situation because
<v Speaker 4>it seemed like the school was shutting it down. The
<v Speaker 4>last we heard.
<v Speaker 2>Right for folks that met loud the Discord town Hall.
<v Speaker 2>We had an abrupt update near the end where Dibb
<v Speaker 2>said that someone had reported him for selling the three
<v Speaker 2>D dragons. We got.
<v Speaker 4>You said, you really liked it, you respected it.
<v Speaker 3>It was a kid, but still the kids got to
<v Speaker 3>learn some hard lessons once in a while. It was
<v Speaker 3>a kid named Daniel.
<v Speaker 1>I wanted to be back of ours. Internet's not really down.
<v Speaker 1>He's just traveling to Minneapolis with div to like with
<v Speaker 1>baseball backs to get your knee.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, wow, likely story showing your room.
<v Speaker 4>With burglar masks.
<v Speaker 1>It's obviously them, but yeah, there's obviously different.
<v Speaker 4>He's wearing that hockey stick by a man and a child,
<v Speaker 4>still wearing a baseball cat over the ski mask, a.
<v Speaker 2>Ghostbusters shirt, and then they just throw a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>three D printed dragons at you.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, of course. What's great about back Laura is like,
<v Speaker 4>like he's a very different sort but like me, he's
<v Speaker 4>kind of a cartoon character brought to life. Right, Oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I mean yeah, yeah, all of us are right, We're
<v Speaker 4>all various different tropes and characters. Yeah, he's a bit
<v Speaker 4>more of like a Fox Blocks animation like cartoon dad
<v Speaker 4>type r.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, okay, that's fair, that's fair. Now, he's a rent
<v Speaker 3>and stimpy cartoon.
<v Speaker 1>He's very particular the way that like, yeah TV Dad
<v Speaker 1>would be.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, like Bob's Burgers, which I don't watch, but how
<v Speaker 4>I assume that he's not and Jeff ba some things
<v Speaker 4>in common.
<v Speaker 2>He is the.
<v Speaker 4>Opposite of Bob's Burgers. Actually, what are Bob? What is
<v Speaker 4>Bob's defining characterizations?
<v Speaker 2>He's a family man, His children are little weirdos that
<v Speaker 2>he still adores, and he's constantly in debt.
<v Speaker 4>Oh okay, is the Burger restaurant not doing well in
<v Speaker 4>the show.
<v Speaker 2>It does. It's up and down. It's a very whole
<v Speaker 2>shit show. I will say, I'm just Bob's.
<v Speaker 4>Doing all right, all right. The people not like the
<v Speaker 4>Bob Bergers movie because that thing came and I didn't
<v Speaker 4>know people thought of it, And just yesterday I saw
<v Speaker 4>something that made me think, oh, no, one liked that
<v Speaker 4>movie apparently. I think I didn't know there was a movie.
<v Speaker 2>I think it was one of those delios where the
<v Speaker 2>people that really liked the show liked the movie, and
<v Speaker 2>maybe the movie is perhaps made for that audience.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, yeah, because somebody was doing like a chart on
<v Speaker 4>right out of like Simpson's Family Guy Kings Brodberger is
<v Speaker 4>like best episode, worst episode, funniest episode, and for worst
<v Speaker 4>episode of that, it was the movie, Like, oh, I
<v Speaker 4>thought people like that. Now chat saying people liked it too.
<v Speaker 4>It's a full on musical. Oh I would like it.
<v Speaker 4>Maybe that's what threw people off, probably although south Park
<v Speaker 4>was at musical and that was great. Yeah, but yeah,
<v Speaker 4>south Park is often a musical though. Yeah, I'll tell
<v Speaker 4>you what. That's another one of those then where they
<v Speaker 4>hit the fact it was a musical because I had
<v Speaker 4>no idea from the trailers. That and Willie Wonka, just
<v Speaker 4>those two believies to not want you to know about music.
<v Speaker 2>For sure, folks. Shout out to our friends over there
<v Speaker 2>at main Gear. Go to main gear dot com. Slash
<v Speaker 2>Giant Bomb, get yourself a PC, get yourself a faceplate,
<v Speaker 2>Jeff Grub. How can folks support us though at home?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, they can show up for us. Because we're independent
<v Speaker 1>games media. We need all the back and we can
<v Speaker 1>get from the community. That means go to GiantBomb dot com,
<v Speaker 1>slash join, become a premium member. It goes a long
<v Speaker 1>way toward ensuring we can continue doing what we do
<v Speaker 1>over here. All the fun stuff we make, all the
<v Speaker 1>events we attend, all the stuff that we put on
<v Speaker 1>ourselves happens because you all are passionate and show up
<v Speaker 1>and we don't have corporate backers. That's not how this
<v Speaker 1>works anymore. It works because you all still want it
<v Speaker 1>and we've seen a huge response. People have shown up
<v Speaker 1>for us before us. It means the world to us.
<v Speaker 1>Let's keep it going through the rest of this year.
<v Speaker 1>Thanks everyone.
<v Speaker 2>Speaking about Premium Grub Minati Dan not immediately after this podcast,
<v Speaker 2>but later in the afternoon, Little Lunch Break, Little Lunch Break,
<v Speaker 2>a new Oh season of This is the Run is starting,
<v Speaker 2>and folks at home, it's not a contra, It's not
<v Speaker 2>an absolom Dan, can you it's way harder. It's way harder. Actually,
<v Speaker 2>can you tell me? Can you inform the folks at
<v Speaker 2>home what this season of This Is The Run is
<v Speaker 2>gonna be.
<v Speaker 3>Well, it's gonna be a little different here because there
<v Speaker 3>will be one winner. It is not a co op game,
<v Speaker 3>but one of us will leave the season of This
<v Speaker 3>Is the Run a millionaire because we will be taking turns,
<v Speaker 3>each of us, of the Black Boys here, taking a
<v Speaker 3>turn on each episode of This is the Run, trying
<v Speaker 3>to see who becomes a millionaire on PlayStation one?
<v Speaker 2>Who wants to be a millionaire?
<v Speaker 4>Now?
<v Speaker 1>In no Irish edition for us?
<v Speaker 4>Right, No, we're doing an America version all right, darn it.
<v Speaker 2>And for folks at home that will be streamed live
<v Speaker 2>for free but then immediately deleted. You have to be
<v Speaker 2>a Premium member to go watch the archive of that.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, speaking about Premium boyos, some other things cooking
<v Speaker 2>up in the background that will be soon announced, so
<v Speaker 2>keep your papers peeped over there gang numerous numerous shows,
<v Speaker 2>eminently eminent, perhaps some guests helping us run those shows
<v Speaker 2>and appearing on those shows.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and details very very like like this month you
<v Speaker 3>will be hearing about and watching them right like now
<v Speaker 3>is the.
<v Speaker 4>Time to like to go to job bomb dot com
<v Speaker 4>slash win yeh like right now, it's gonna pay off
<v Speaker 4>very soon.
<v Speaker 2>You know this isn't me sniffing our own farts, but
<v Speaker 2>I am very excited for all of these shows that
<v Speaker 2>we have Cooking in the pipeline grub Dan, congratsu y'all
<v Speaker 2>for a successful event with our friends over at Minmax.
<v Speaker 2>For the Ice Out charity stream, I think you people
<v Speaker 2>can still donate. Last time I checked in on the totals,
<v Speaker 2>it was two hundred and seventy thousand dollars raised for VEEP,
<v Speaker 2>which is.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, let me get that. I'll get the ex.
<v Speaker 3>Two hundred and seventy six four and thirty nine dollars
<v Speaker 3>as of this moment for VP. Yes, that's delivering food
<v Speaker 3>deliveries to families who are afraid to leave their houses
<v Speaker 3>right now in the Twin Cities and also rent assistance
<v Speaker 3>because they are not able to get out and work
<v Speaker 3>and make money.
<v Speaker 4>So there's a lot of stress going on right now.
<v Speaker 3>And yeah, that's why we did the charity stream on Friday,
<v Speaker 3>And a huge shout out to Hanson for hosting it
<v Speaker 3>the Minmax studio, Jacob Geller for flying out grub flying
<v Speaker 3>out here. I know we all appreciate it, and I
<v Speaker 3>know all those families definitely appreciate over quarter of a
<v Speaker 3>million dollars we raised in one night.
<v Speaker 4>Hell yeah, yep.
<v Speaker 1>I think the industry showed up. I think all the
<v Speaker 1>obviously the audience community showed up. Hanson mentioned that he
<v Speaker 1>sent out a few like donated and you were expecting
<v Speaker 1>a code he's sent out. I think most of them
<v Speaker 1>so far, if not all of them that I'm not
<v Speaker 1>sure if that continues if you continue to donate, But
<v Speaker 1>so far, I think he's delivered everything that was due.
<v Speaker 1>So check your inboxes, everybody, if you did donate, yes.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, and bummer timing. Bruce Springsteen showed up right after
<v Speaker 3>we were off there.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, we were.
<v Speaker 3>We were signing all the posters. He didn't sign any,
<v Speaker 3>but he was helping kind of like, you know, pass
<v Speaker 3>it to Bruce.
<v Speaker 4>Was awesome.
<v Speaker 1>He offered to like run the stream himself. He understands
<v Speaker 1>the working man.
<v Speaker 3>Uh yeah, yes, yeah, Tom Morello was working the audio board.
<v Speaker 4>He Springsteen. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>No, Actually, Bruce is a big stream Labs guy, so
<v Speaker 2>that's around. He would have fights around with Hanson's whole setup.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't want to do that. So yeah, I'm just thinking
<v Speaker 2>that that's a I'm just picturing his schedule. Streamer Bruce
<v Speaker 2>Springsteen is a Honey Contra something there and Tom.
<v Speaker 1>Morello streaming but refusing to use a computer, and it's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh okay, acoustics streaming from Tom Morello.
<v Speaker 3>He's streaming on a guitar with a screwdriver.
<v Speaker 4>Somehow he made it work. He has like wild pedals
<v Speaker 4>or levers, I don't know, his.
<v Speaker 1>Guitar against making fifty six K modem dial up sounds.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you could probably do that on a guitar. Round
<v Speaker 2>he could actually a talented enough guitarist. But yeah, special
<v Speaker 2>shouts out to everyone that donated or hung out and
<v Speaker 2>watched the whole time. Your support is seriously going to
<v Speaker 2>put food on families, So thank you for that, very literally.
<v Speaker 2>Also shouts out to again cannot be said enough to
<v Speaker 2>the whole min Max team, especially Ben Hansen, and to
<v Speaker 2>our friends in the industry that provided codes, miscllaneous giveaways
<v Speaker 2>and goodies for folks that donated. It means a bunch
<v Speaker 2>and yeah, we see it. It means the world to
<v Speaker 2>us for real. Thanks.
<v Speaker 4>Just seeing that over and over again, it was like
<v Speaker 4>Oh my god, this means so much. Thank you everybody.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, honestly, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, folks, anyone else, We've got stuff to talk
<v Speaker 2>about before we get to games real quick.
<v Speaker 1>We did have the thing with Jacob Geller doing a
<v Speaker 1>Blake club. We're figuring that out. It'll happen on the
<v Speaker 1>site and probably like a month after the blataning round everybody,
<v Speaker 1>we'll get the details.
<v Speaker 3>I graciously will sit mine out for a little bit
<v Speaker 3>to get after Dan, after Mike's down with Virtuo, so
<v Speaker 3>we can get.
<v Speaker 2>Get five months. Yeah, yeah, oh boy, yeah. I I
<v Speaker 2>was looking more into Virtuoso and maybe y'all need to
<v Speaker 2>check games a little bit more.
<v Speaker 4>I'm just it's it's not like there wasn't even info
<v Speaker 4>on the internet about how long the game was. That's
<v Speaker 4>what's incredible to me. Everybody else found it very quickly.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, wait, what can I go off of
<v Speaker 3>If there's no how long to beat and there's a
<v Speaker 3>certain length.
<v Speaker 4>I would want to spoil myself. Oh my god.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like it'd be bad for the content if
<v Speaker 3>I knew what was coming up. So I can only
<v Speaker 3>research so much, you know, three levels you know, three levels,
<v Speaker 3>one haunted house, one underwater.
<v Speaker 4>You know, so many people want me to like come
<v Speaker 4>at you. They want they want to see blood, and
<v Speaker 4>it's hard for me. It goes against my nature. Dan,
<v Speaker 4>I don't really care. I don't have it any image.
<v Speaker 2>He's poking, he's poking.
<v Speaker 4>The biding around is a blinding round. It's sent out.
<v Speaker 4>But your next actual game, there's gonna have to there
<v Speaker 4>will be some special deliberations for sure. That's for sure.
<v Speaker 4>You know if I have to, like, you don't have
<v Speaker 4>to tell Jeff. Jeff be mean for me, got it?
<v Speaker 4>We should just change it up now I am afraid
<v Speaker 4>of him. Yeah, that's all you have to say, Mike,
<v Speaker 4>I might just take this over and do it, okay.
<v Speaker 4>Oh no, Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Sometimes I feel like maybe you guys should have like
<v Speaker 2>a blight reconnaissance squad.
<v Speaker 1>I think we need to be asking our more responsible
<v Speaker 1>members of our team to maybe double check our work
<v Speaker 1>a little bit.
<v Speaker 4>Here.
<v Speaker 1>I think Chuck looked in like thirty seconds and was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this thing is twenty five hours.
<v Speaker 4>Long or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>So okay, well it's not that yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Right, It's like Michelle Tomorrow, I'm right now, I've beaten
<v Speaker 4>one level of the same file.
<v Speaker 2>Of like thirty oh boy, No, no, no, it's twenty.
<v Speaker 4>It might be twenty five, but yeah, twenty four to okay,
<v Speaker 4>my bad?
<v Speaker 2>Uh Any any any other housekeeping or other life stuff
<v Speaker 2>you guys want to chat about.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I'm so hungry.
<v Speaker 1>I think I think my Virtual Boy might be getting
<v Speaker 1>delivered today already happening. I don't get into I have
<v Speaker 1>like one of those like you know, the the ups
<v Speaker 1>my track or the Shopify thing that's like, hey, we
<v Speaker 1>were spying on your email and we could see when
<v Speaker 1>something's getting delivered and say, hey, yeah, there's a package
<v Speaker 1>from Nintendo coming today. So I can't imagine. I can't
<v Speaker 1>remember what else that would be. You know, there's always
<v Speaker 1>the possibility that I was falling asleep and bought something
<v Speaker 1>from Nintendo, but I haven't done that in a while,
<v Speaker 1>so I don't know. I'm pretty sure this is the
<v Speaker 1>virtual boy.
<v Speaker 4>Platinum points on something stupid recently, you know, that's possible,
<v Speaker 4>like I was, like I did, but I don't. I
<v Speaker 4>don't think so. But so the virtual Boy should be
<v Speaker 4>coming soon, right, I don't know. People and chestin those
<v Speaker 4>should not be bailed.
<v Speaker 1>Well, I guess one person said that I don't. I
<v Speaker 1>will probably find out what it is during this show,
<v Speaker 1>and I'll report back to everybody, and it's something.
<v Speaker 2>Stupid, then we'll all know speaking about something stupid. I
<v Speaker 2>did make a bad purchase on the internet, potentially a
<v Speaker 2>bad purchase. I uh, I bought an old TV camera lens.
<v Speaker 4>Oh it's like a sniper scope.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, so I already feel weird filming in public, and
<v Speaker 2>this is not going to make that any easier. And
<v Speaker 2>it has like these little connector do dads to hook
<v Speaker 2>up to a proper camera or TV camera, not mine,
<v Speaker 2>And now I have to buy like at least three
<v Speaker 2>different adapters to get this to hook up to mine.
<v Speaker 2>And what I'm gonna use it for I don't fucking know.
<v Speaker 2>But these normally go for like six hundred to like
<v Speaker 2>three thousand dollars and I got it for fifty bucks. WHOA,
<v Speaker 2>that's awesome. It's nice. Yeah, so look forward to Shenanigans.
<v Speaker 2>This is supposed to be like a power zoom. Oh okay, no,
<v Speaker 2>there are buns there, but I don't know how to
<v Speaker 2>power it.
<v Speaker 4>I do.
<v Speaker 1>I do associate lenses that look like that with purpose
<v Speaker 1>its chance, so just be careful when you're out there.
<v Speaker 4>It is a real rear window ass.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you know, call a spade a spade. You know,
<v Speaker 2>I've watch a rear window remake.
<v Speaker 4>With how many rear window and remix have there been?
<v Speaker 4>There was that one? Did the Christopher?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's the one that pops in my head first,
<v Speaker 1>which is fun.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, yes, that's the only one I know of. And
<v Speaker 3>well the Simpsons, you know with the Platers and Barts
<v Speaker 3>home with.
<v Speaker 4>The only one I know. I was about to say,
<v Speaker 4>is this like the Simpsons Sega Bart with legs or whatever? Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>All right, ye speaking about the charity stream y'all did
<v Speaker 2>over our last week. One of the games that I
<v Speaker 2>saw grub play for an extended period of time was
<v Speaker 2>Perfect Weapon.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, so man, this game is real rough now. As
<v Speaker 1>I started playing it, I did remember seeing this in
<v Speaker 1>a video at one point, being like, we're going to
<v Speaker 1>play that eventually, not knowing, uh what what game facts
<v Speaker 1>happened to say about its length. So this was Ben
<v Speaker 1>Hansen's Blake Club game for me. I started it up,
<v Speaker 1>and it is. It is what it says on the
<v Speaker 1>box where it's like it's trying to be an action
<v Speaker 1>game mixed with tech In. The problem is is when
<v Speaker 1>it switches from the tank controls for moving around into
<v Speaker 1>the combat controls that control like tech In, it is
<v Speaker 1>so different that it's very hard to get used to
<v Speaker 1>the idea of like, wait, how do I move forward
<v Speaker 1>during combat? Like I can't even get this character to
<v Speaker 1>move forward in a straight line because the controls are
<v Speaker 1>just so completely different and it's pretty threatening, like the
<v Speaker 1>enemies could kill you very fast, so it's hard to
<v Speaker 1>like take the time to figure that stuff out. And
<v Speaker 1>of course, like with all Blake Club games, it might
<v Speaker 1>it has this robust combat system that's not like a
<v Speaker 1>lot of Blake Club games. But what's like like a
<v Speaker 1>lot of these games is, of course, the cheapest move
<v Speaker 1>is the safest thing to do. So I just started
<v Speaker 1>doing leg sweeps NonStop, and like we eventually saw in
<v Speaker 1>the guide, like the game fact thing was like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>the leg sweep is the thing to do. That's pretty
<v Speaker 1>useful in all combat scenarios. Uh that was like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>I can at least I could see myself being able
<v Speaker 1>to defeat this game. Take it on, But moving the
<v Speaker 1>character around is so frustrating, so bad. If you try
<v Speaker 1>to start running and you get anywhere near the walls,
<v Speaker 1>he comes to a complete stop and it's so hard
<v Speaker 1>to get your momentum going again that it was one
<v Speaker 1>of the most frustrating games I've played for anything like
<v Speaker 1>club related so far.
<v Speaker 4>It's bad, bad, bad.
<v Speaker 2>I love that.
<v Speaker 3>Initially he was thinking like, oh, yeah, we can definitely
<v Speaker 3>will play through the whole thing. It's like four hours long.
<v Speaker 3>I think personally it was irresponsible of Ben Hansen to
<v Speaker 3>a sign of doing proper research on the length. Everybody
<v Speaker 3>listen the long plays on YouTube. Are not a good
<v Speaker 3>guy for the length of a video game. Yeah, it
<v Speaker 3>turns out they all just do the thing where they
<v Speaker 3>just cut together. This is the parts of the gameplay
<v Speaker 3>where they got through it, and they don't know the
<v Speaker 3>hours of figuring it out.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, and also probably yes use cheets. Yes, So that
<v Speaker 1>game was real bad. I'm still pretty like curious about it.
<v Speaker 1>So I did buy it on gog and I'm thinking
<v Speaker 1>I might see this thing through. People donated so much money.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, yeah, I just don't know when and where,
<v Speaker 1>so I might have to see it through on my
<v Speaker 1>own time, but we'll see.
<v Speaker 4>I want to finish this game.
<v Speaker 2>Greb, I will say, you look very menacing wearing fingerless gloves.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, thank you appreciate that. That's kind of all I
<v Speaker 1>ever want to hear. Yeah, the pecks were first, That
<v Speaker 1>is what I showed up like.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I didn't want to objectify grub or anything,
<v Speaker 2>you know, so I didn't bring up.
<v Speaker 1>The peas full permission objectify away.
<v Speaker 2>That goes for all of us here at GB. I'm
<v Speaker 2>just gonna blank a statement that h well, Greb, going
<v Speaker 2>from one bad game to potentially another. You also put
<v Speaker 2>on the document here. Terminator two d No Fate.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Dan talked about this one and I always meant to
<v Speaker 1>check it out myself.
<v Speaker 5>It is.
<v Speaker 1>It's doing exactly what I would want from this game.
<v Speaker 1>It has the variety of gameplay. Everything feels really snappy,
<v Speaker 1>It feels fun to punch. The characters have just enough
<v Speaker 1>abilities to keep it interesting for the length length of
<v Speaker 1>the levels, which is usually pretty short, and you're going
<v Speaker 1>from one thing to the next pretty fast, and it's
<v Speaker 1>hitting all like the beats of the movie where it's like,
<v Speaker 1>oh man, it's I feel like I'm getting the same
<v Speaker 1>sensations I get watching Terminator two. A huge part of
<v Speaker 1>that is the music that they do have a lot
<v Speaker 1>of really great remixes of the soundtrack, and then yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it has enough going on in the gameplay level to
<v Speaker 1>level to keep me pretty entertained to you punch the
<v Speaker 1>juke box. I punched the jukebox. That's that's like a
<v Speaker 1>moment of the year kind of thing.
<v Speaker 3>That's like, so is that was the moment where it's like,
<v Speaker 3>I want to make clear I don't think it's a
<v Speaker 3>bad game.
<v Speaker 2>I argued it.
<v Speaker 3>I gave it two out of five. Like there were
<v Speaker 3>other issues with that. We'll talk about that in a second,
<v Speaker 3>like the length and the costs and everything, but like
<v Speaker 3>there are those little moments there where it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you walk into the bar from that scene at the
<v Speaker 3>beginning of T two and it's doing that Dwight Yogam's
<v Speaker 3>on guitars and cattle of that one, and then if
<v Speaker 3>you fucking punched the jukebox, we're like throwing it into it.
<v Speaker 3>It like record scratch bad to the bone, right, Ye,
<v Speaker 3>this is made by T two fans excellent yep.
<v Speaker 1>And it's not like it's uh, it doesn't feel contrived.
<v Speaker 1>All just feels like, no, they had the tools of
<v Speaker 1>this two D action game, and they used all of
<v Speaker 1>those tools to do the most Terminator two stuff they
<v Speaker 1>could do to an extent, because yeah, it clearly is
<v Speaker 1>pretty short. And I just kind of went halfway through
<v Speaker 1>and then uh, Jacob Geller beat my secretory score, so
<v Speaker 1>I went.
<v Speaker 4>Back to play that.
<v Speaker 1>But so I didn't even finish this, but I could
<v Speaker 1>tell I was going through it really fast because I
<v Speaker 1>was getting into sort of the end parts of the
<v Speaker 1>Terminator to Film story. So I think I might have
<v Speaker 1>like a couple levels left. And it's like, yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>think if you are talking about this game from a
<v Speaker 1>value perspective, it is very difficult to recommend, and yet
<v Speaker 1>as the thing I wanted it to be, it is
<v Speaker 1>that sort of without caveat. So take the price out
<v Speaker 1>of it, I'm very happy with it consider the price
<v Speaker 1>versus the content. I'm I'm not going to go back
<v Speaker 1>and play through these levels and try to s rank them, so, uh,
<v Speaker 1>you know, s ranking quite a few of them out
<v Speaker 1>of the gate wouldn't be that difficult, But it's just
<v Speaker 1>I'm not even going to replay it like one and
<v Speaker 1>a half times.
<v Speaker 4>So I have to kind of I thought you said
<v Speaker 4>ass ranking. Yeah, I did I got an ass fucking
<v Speaker 4>assdo that?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? Does you have them like labeled out?
<v Speaker 4>Never mind?
<v Speaker 1>Either way, I'm enjoying it. I just I could see
<v Speaker 1>like the problem being that price, which is like it's
<v Speaker 1>forty dollars.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, thirty for like you know, you can beat it
<v Speaker 3>in forty five minutes, yeah, very very short. And the
<v Speaker 3>stuff it tries to do to increase the replay value
<v Speaker 3>is there's like a decision you can make in the
<v Speaker 3>campaign basically, and it basically swaps up like a level
<v Speaker 3>or two, not to significant degree. So it's not like
<v Speaker 3>like I do love this modern thing where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>we're taking the old beat them up style of like
<v Speaker 3>oh Turtles and Simpson's Arcade game, and we're giving it
<v Speaker 3>Roguelid elements, or we're doing things to give you a reason.
<v Speaker 3>Absolom is probably the best example that I've ever seen.
<v Speaker 3>And this is like, Okay, they tried to do something
<v Speaker 3>to increase the replay and it's just not enough right now.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, Like the big thing I'm seeing is like those
<v Speaker 4>choices where and like they're.
<v Speaker 1>Some of them are locked. I think all of them
<v Speaker 1>you can only lock into one choice your first play through,
<v Speaker 1>so It's like, obviously if you wanted to try the
<v Speaker 1>other thing where it's instead of maybe kill Dyson, you
<v Speaker 1>you like let them live or someone maybe kill them.
<v Speaker 3>It's when when Lenna Hamilton goes to his place and
<v Speaker 3>like with the gun and everything, and like Arnold shows up,
<v Speaker 3>want to kill him or spare him?
<v Speaker 1>Base you spare him the first time, and then that
<v Speaker 1>maybe the next time it unlocks this so you can
<v Speaker 1>actually kill him this time and see how that changes things.
<v Speaker 1>There's a couple of those that I've seen that's not
<v Speaker 1>quite enough to get me over the hump to be
<v Speaker 1>like I need to replay this. I would be like, no,
<v Speaker 1>I kind of just wanted the movie and that's what
<v Speaker 1>you gave me out of the gates, so I'm good here.
<v Speaker 1>But boy, it's just like I would like more of these,
<v Speaker 1>So I hope they can find a way to keep
<v Speaker 1>and like make this work. If they need to be
<v Speaker 1>thirty dollars to exist, I'm sort of ready to accept
<v Speaker 1>that and be like, oh, okay, as long as this
<v Speaker 1>is something we can get more of.
<v Speaker 2>Was there like another nineties action movie you have in
<v Speaker 2>mind that you want to see?
<v Speaker 4>Get this Rock Blood? Yeah? A co Comando would be
<v Speaker 4>like Cando is like an eighties I wouldn't Admado game
<v Speaker 4>is basically Commando du literally Commando. I want to be
<v Speaker 4>John Matrix. I always I have a soft.
<v Speaker 1>Spot for under Siege. It's the one like, can't be
<v Speaker 1>fun steven Sagall movie. I would take that. That would
<v Speaker 1>be a lot of fun Gary Busey in two D
<v Speaker 1>pixels in a drag dancing around.
<v Speaker 4>Come on, you got to see.
<v Speaker 3>I was just saying, no, the rock would be so
<v Speaker 3>cool because it could be the thing where you, like,
<v Speaker 3>you know, you infiltrade you go up from under the
<v Speaker 3>water and you're seeking aroun. Oh that's called Metal Year Solid.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not that game, Okay, Yeah, fantastic. I didn't mean
<v Speaker 2>to say it was a bad game. I think I
<v Speaker 2>just remember initial reaction being mixed because of the price.
<v Speaker 2>So sorry, terminator.
<v Speaker 4>That's most of the conversation is the price.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, still looks like it is at least thirty dollars
<v Speaker 2>on Steam over there. All right, Well, going from something
<v Speaker 2>that is kind of a reimagining of the movie to
<v Speaker 2>another reimagined thing, Mike Manatta, you've been playing Dragon Quest
<v Speaker 2>seven reimagined?
<v Speaker 4>Yes, I have spent a lot of time with this game.
<v Speaker 4>I have not finished it, but over twenty hours in,
<v Speaker 4>so pretty deep into the experience here. What's funny is
<v Speaker 4>if this was the original Drago seven, that would be
<v Speaker 4>like nothing for this game. The game was infamously long.
<v Speaker 4>This one, they've sort of sped up the pace, even
<v Speaker 4>cut some content as it were, which for some people
<v Speaker 4>like how dare they? For other people like that's smart editing.
<v Speaker 4>Actually that game was really long, so something like this
<v Speaker 4>one might be closer like fifty sixty or seventy hours,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not sure. Yeah, twenty hours in. It feels like
<v Speaker 4>it's pretty substantial. I'm liking at a lot.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 4>It is a very cozy turn based RPG, right, Like,
<v Speaker 4>you know, it's colorful. The new graphics look very pretty.
<v Speaker 4>It's very vignette based, where you know. The whole kind
<v Speaker 4>of thing is you're going to these different islands and
<v Speaker 4>each island sort of has its problem, and a lot
<v Speaker 4>of them are kind of basically just fairy tails, like, oh,
<v Speaker 4>we've got some bad robots running around, can you help
<v Speaker 4>us with that? Like, ah, no, there's a flood, what
<v Speaker 4>can you do up?
<v Speaker 2>Not?
<v Speaker 4>This volcano is angry, so it's almost episodic in a
<v Speaker 4>sense like that, so each it's like each thing's its
<v Speaker 4>own many two or three hour adventure. You go through that,
<v Speaker 4>and that was you know, the format we had before,
<v Speaker 4>of course, but here some of the other stuff with
<v Speaker 4>a pacing, like you know, you have map markers that
<v Speaker 4>just kind of tell you where to go. And some
<v Speaker 4>people would be like, well, that's ruining the spirit of
<v Speaker 4>these things supposed to explore, and I would be like, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>that's kind of nice just to go where the thing says.
<v Speaker 4>There's this a whole Mecantus game where to unlock the
<v Speaker 4>elands yet to find these different stone fragments, and you know,
<v Speaker 4>in order versus the game, it would be kind of
<v Speaker 4>hard to find these things or sort of hit in.
<v Speaker 4>And then even once you get them and you put
<v Speaker 4>them into pedestals are kind of like puzzle pieces here. Again,
<v Speaker 4>like it's pretty easy to find them. The map will
<v Speaker 4>often just tell you and then you don't have to
<v Speaker 4>like turn them and place them exactly, just does it.
<v Speaker 4>The game might almost be too easy in some ways.
<v Speaker 4>It is very very even compared to the HG two
<v Speaker 4>D remix they've done recently, which can be pretty hard.
<v Speaker 4>You know, I've been just blazing through this. I don't
<v Speaker 4>think I've had a single like game over death or
<v Speaker 4>anything like that. A lot of rpeaches early on will
<v Speaker 4>do the thing where like here's here's a statue or
<v Speaker 4>a pool that will you can say that and it
<v Speaker 4>will refill your health and manna. Again, twenty hours into
<v Speaker 4>this game, I'm still getting those in the middle of dungeons.
<v Speaker 4>It's just incredibly just. And this is on normal difficulty. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>just playing on normal. I don't know if that stuff
<v Speaker 4>ever turns off, even though when you're in battles, like
<v Speaker 4>the game will just tell you right away if a
<v Speaker 4>spell or an attack is like strong against the enemy
<v Speaker 4>is ineffective against an enemy. You know, some games will
<v Speaker 4>be like, we won't tell you that at all ever,
<v Speaker 4>but most of them some will be like, we'll tell
<v Speaker 4>you once you figure it out, you know, the first
<v Speaker 4>time on your own. This one just right away is
<v Speaker 4>like this guy's walked the fire, you should probably just
<v Speaker 4>use your fire attacks like okay, And like part of
<v Speaker 4>me is I'm having a hard time deciding if I
<v Speaker 4>like or dislike this stuff, because on one hand, it's
<v Speaker 4>kind of easy. I'm just sort of breezing through this thing.
<v Speaker 4>On the other hand, it like does contribute to this
<v Speaker 4>being a very chill well of these games, and I
<v Speaker 4>am liking that aspect of it. It's kind of being
<v Speaker 4>cozy in my bed and going going through this thing,
<v Speaker 4>not stressing out about it too much. Even the grinding
<v Speaker 4>is pretty easy because it does that thing where after
<v Speaker 4>a while you just sort of automatically killed the enemies
<v Speaker 4>on the map if you're a higher level than them,
<v Speaker 4>and that still gets you decent XP and pretty good
<v Speaker 4>job points. So just running around the map and kind
<v Speaker 4>of attacking people you get you get strong pretty pretty fast. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>even though you know there are some options like individual
<v Speaker 4>difficulty options, like you could just you know, turn off
<v Speaker 4>you know, monsters even attacking you things like that. I
<v Speaker 4>didn't see options to turn off this stuff where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 4>Auto Macley, show me the weaknesses or the healing statues.
<v Speaker 4>Maybe I missed it. I don't know. So, Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 4>it's breezy in a good way, in a way that
<v Speaker 4>I think might turn off some hardcore series fans. I
<v Speaker 4>don't know. I think I played the three D S version,
<v Speaker 4>which was slightly edited from the original PS one even
<v Speaker 4>that's still kind of felt like a bit of a slog,
<v Speaker 4>definitely too long, and this one is just it definitely
<v Speaker 4>feels much snappier. I am certainly enjoying it more than
<v Speaker 4>that three ds.
<v Speaker 2>Are you enjoying the story at all? I know that
<v Speaker 2>you mentioned that they're kind of vignette styled little tails,
<v Speaker 2>but is that.
<v Speaker 4>Gripping you in aignificant way? Mic, It's not a very
<v Speaker 4>it's not a super grippy story. It's it is very
<v Speaker 4>much these vignettes, and there's kind of an overarching story
<v Speaker 4>and that especially at this point, is uh, there's a
<v Speaker 4>very bad guy out there and no, yeah, right, it's yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I can't remember his name. It is something like the
<v Speaker 4>evil One or something, right, and he thought the Almighty
<v Speaker 4>in the past and the Almighty lost and now we
<v Speaker 4>got to help the Almighty. It's very basic stuff there,
<v Speaker 4>and from what I remember, so I don't remember getting
<v Speaker 4>too much more complicated than any of that. You know,
<v Speaker 4>the Dragon's games in general, they don't have the biggest
<v Speaker 4>narrative stuff. Maybe eight and eleven are kind of the
<v Speaker 4>exceptions to that rule a little bit. There are the
<v Speaker 4>characters are fun, though here there's not a ton of
<v Speaker 4>character moments early on you get more of it. I
<v Speaker 4>kind of miss when you lose that stuff with Mira
<v Speaker 4>Bon and Keefer kind of clipping constantly things like that. So, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>it's not a final Fantasy like seven or eight or
<v Speaker 4>you know, or nice or something like that, right, or
<v Speaker 4>like I sweak it into certainly not You're not really
<v Speaker 4>here for the story. You are kind of just here
<v Speaker 4>for the cozy turn based RPG fantasy fairytale vibes that
<v Speaker 4>that was the.
<v Speaker 1>Case with like dragon Quest in this time, right, because
<v Speaker 1>I remember people talked about dragon Quest eight, which was
<v Speaker 1>a PS two game, right level fa but people are like,
<v Speaker 1>it's hey, if you have this on on one screen
<v Speaker 1>and then like, let's say you have another screen in
<v Speaker 1>your family, like that's playing sports, you could do both
<v Speaker 1>those things at the same time. Kind of no problem,
<v Speaker 1>and it's kind of perfect for that, And I just wondered, like,
<v Speaker 1>that's not always what dragon Quest is, right, dragon Quest
<v Speaker 1>eleven gets a lick a.
<v Speaker 2>Little bit more involved, and yeah, yeah, like yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Eleven is a bit more story focused, but in general, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>a lot of dragon Quest games are kind of second
<v Speaker 4>screen things for me for sure. Every time I am
<v Speaker 4>playing this game. I am definitely watching something on YouTube. Absolutely,
<v Speaker 4>you know, sometimes I've just been playing it and fine
<v Speaker 4>and it's fun, but like I can't handle just looking
<v Speaker 4>at this. It's still pretty, it still has nice music.
<v Speaker 4>I still do enjoy the combat and things like that.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, it's.
<v Speaker 4>Definitely it's it's one of the easier one of these. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>especially like you know, even even even RPGs that have
<v Speaker 4>the word Mario in it have been harder than this, sure, Greb,
<v Speaker 4>you mentioned this yesterday during Monday Mornings Missed with Mitch.
<v Speaker 2>I suggest that we're gonna go check it out. It's
<v Speaker 2>one of my favorite shows that missed or I missed.
<v Speaker 2>Kind of feels like it is a game made by
<v Speaker 2>or for PBS. Yes, And after we did that quick
<v Speaker 2>look of dragon Quest a couple of weeks ago, Mike.
<v Speaker 4>Oh, I can't I got that. I cannot wait to
<v Speaker 4>hear what you're gonna say. This is like, okay, go.
<v Speaker 2>It feels like this reimagining of Dragon Quest seven is
<v Speaker 2>kind of like a PBS where it is an easy,
<v Speaker 2>breezy adventures, not Arthur vibes. I wouldn't say Arthur vibes.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe like Wishbone Vibes Gaming's Yachtlag is.
<v Speaker 4>What I was thinking.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's like the yacht Rocket Gaming. It goes
<v Speaker 1>down smooth, it's not complicated, but it's still got some emotion.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah. One Contact. Anyone watched that? No, No, I'm old.
<v Speaker 3>Three is my favorite PBS show. I think it was
<v Speaker 3>about science and stuff. It's your favorite academic child. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>there's a rocket ship in the beginning, and so I
<v Speaker 3>think it was about science.
<v Speaker 4>I'm going to look up the intro to this to
<v Speaker 4>see if I recognize it. And I don't mean that
<v Speaker 4>in a derogatory way at all.
<v Speaker 2>I just I don't think I've been hungry for JRPG
<v Speaker 2>after finishing Clare Obscure, and I don't think this is
<v Speaker 2>going to say.
<v Speaker 1>Shit, are you one hundred?
<v Speaker 2>Sorry, I just looked.
<v Speaker 1>I looked up three two one Contact. It's from like
<v Speaker 1>the it's like World War two stuff.
<v Speaker 4>Come on, it was the late eighties. That's when I
<v Speaker 4>was a child. Yeah. It's interesting because I think drag
<v Speaker 4>Wo SEVN used to be the last one of these
<v Speaker 4>games in this series that I would recommend to new people,
<v Speaker 4>and now it's like, yeah, this is a pretty easy
<v Speaker 4>recommend unless you're I don't know, kind of very familiar
<v Speaker 4>with j Rpyge's already and maybe want something more substantial.
<v Speaker 4>But even then, I think a lot of fans of
<v Speaker 4>the genre will be down with the kind of the
<v Speaker 4>chill vibes sure of this one. I'm twenty hours in.
<v Speaker 4>There's a lot of game left. Maybe there's some big
<v Speaker 4>difficulty curve, although for what I'm seeing from other reviews,
<v Speaker 4>I think that seems to be I don't know if
<v Speaker 4>i'd say a complaint, but the lack of difficulty is
<v Speaker 4>brought up quite often. I don't mind them cutting some
<v Speaker 4>of the cut. Like I said, it's vignettes, So some
<v Speaker 4>of the vignettes have just been cut, and Frank, I
<v Speaker 4>played this game, I couldn't tell you which ones they were.
<v Speaker 4>Some of it even it's weird because I played this game,
<v Speaker 4>but sometimes I get to it and I'm like I
<v Speaker 4>remember this or something like, I don't really remember this
<v Speaker 4>because it was such a long game that was just
<v Speaker 4>sort of seen after seeing the scene that some some
<v Speaker 4>of it just went over me.
<v Speaker 1>I'm almost absorbing it better this time. Uh, real quick,
<v Speaker 1>can I ask you're our JARPG guy?
<v Speaker 6>Right?
<v Speaker 1>Like I can come to you, and like I have
<v Speaker 1>questions about this genre concerns, I can bring them to
<v Speaker 1>you absolutely.
<v Speaker 4>What's what's going on with Kimko?
<v Speaker 1>They've got like Kimko they I was on my phone
<v Speaker 1>yesterday and they have every single one of their RPGs,
<v Speaker 1>which are all kind of sixteen bit throwback RPGs that
<v Speaker 1>they've released in like the last two years. And there's
<v Speaker 1>like fifty of them. And they're all on play Pass,
<v Speaker 1>which is like Google's a play Store subscription thing that
<v Speaker 1>I paid like four bucks a month for and I
<v Speaker 1>get a bunch of free apps and games. They're also
<v Speaker 1>all on Steam. And like this Hero Seekers rpg from
<v Speaker 1>Kimco came out last month and it has one user review.
<v Speaker 1>Are these Is this some sort of money laundering scheme?
<v Speaker 6>Like?
<v Speaker 1>Are any is anyone playing these JRPGs from Kimco?
<v Speaker 4>But here's alter Age from mart six, twenty twenty five,
<v Speaker 4>with two user reviews, and it looks like, shit, yeah, what.
<v Speaker 2>The hell is this?
<v Speaker 1>I I kind of want to, like look at one
<v Speaker 1>of these.
<v Speaker 4>Dad Dragons from February thirteen, twenty twenty five. One user review.
<v Speaker 4>It looks like shit, Yeah, what the hell's going on here?
<v Speaker 3>What about egg Mania Eggstream Madness for the PS.
<v Speaker 4>Two, Well, that's just the Kimco Classic of course, yes,
<v Speaker 4>of course a toil from November Night Towy twenty three
<v Speaker 4>three user. Because they all look exactly, they all have
<v Speaker 4>the same impact set up. They must all be made
<v Speaker 4>an RPG maker, right.
<v Speaker 1>That's what I happen. Like, are they legit made an
<v Speaker 1>RPG maker? That's not a joke, right, they are probably
<v Speaker 1>just yeah, what the hell?
<v Speaker 3>I'm looking at Kimko's games and looking at the Wikipedia
<v Speaker 3>page for egg Mania Extreme Madness. The composer is listed
<v Speaker 3>as Alistair Brimble, which if I were to write the
<v Speaker 3>name of a British parody character, that would seem.
<v Speaker 2>Me ye two yeah, Alistair prim.
<v Speaker 4>These middles three it's it's it's like messing me up
<v Speaker 4>that I could if I wanted to play this Campco
<v Speaker 4>RPG called Glorious Saver with no user reviews from twenty
<v Speaker 4>twenty four, and like, I could just play through this game.
<v Speaker 4>It's fifteen bucks, are you insane?
<v Speaker 1>So on play Store they all have like a thousand
<v Speaker 1>downloads because they tell you how many downloads these games
<v Speaker 1>have on that store. But again, like they're all part
<v Speaker 1>of the playstore subscription thing, so I think people just
<v Speaker 1>don't buy them and just play them on there. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, man, it's weird and.
<v Speaker 2>Grub to the best of your knowledge, this is just
<v Speaker 2>like the straight up JRPG. They haven't added any like
<v Speaker 2>gotcha elements or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>I think the No, they're all premium price games, so
<v Speaker 1>they're all like I think they are all. That's why
<v Speaker 1>I think they are RPG maker because it just looks
<v Speaker 1>like a classic RPG stuff. I think they have visual
<v Speaker 1>novels and stuff as well, And I guess it's like
<v Speaker 1>the target audience actually might be on Switch. They think
<v Speaker 1>these games all come out on Switch as well, but
<v Speaker 1>I bet not a lot of people are playing them
<v Speaker 1>on there either.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Again, I kind of want to just pick one of
<v Speaker 1>these Mike can look at just like, yeah, like you
<v Speaker 1>do a Marble raceist.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah oh boy, oh yeah yeah yes, hook fire up
<v Speaker 2>all of them at the same time. Grub hook them
<v Speaker 2>up to one controller and see how far you can
<v Speaker 2>get in all of them. That's weird.
<v Speaker 4>I like that there's one here from twenty twenty two
<v Speaker 4>RP Golf Lessons. It's like RPG and I can't. I
<v Speaker 4>don't even think is it a golf game. I think
<v Speaker 4>it's just an action RPG. Oh, there's a golf mechanic.
<v Speaker 4>This one has twenty three reviews. This one, this one
<v Speaker 4>did things. How about that?
<v Speaker 2>I good for it. I see a Chemco RPG Selection
<v Speaker 2>Volume three on Amazon, and uh, the box art is
<v Speaker 2>probably the lowest resolution image I've seen in quite a while,
<v Speaker 2>especially promoting a product that's that's wild. All right, cool,
<v Speaker 2>I guess u grub you can. You're free to announce
<v Speaker 2>Chemco week now.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, welcome everybody.
<v Speaker 4>It's It's kim Ko Year at Giant Bomb Regular seven reimagines.
<v Speaker 4>It's good. I like it. I'm gonna keep I didn't
<v Speaker 4>think I would play this game when they announced it.
<v Speaker 4>I was like, I've had my Field Dragon Quest seven.
<v Speaker 4>This has just been very pleasant, so I'm probably gonna
<v Speaker 4>see it through.
<v Speaker 2>To the folks out there. I know that I've mentioned
<v Speaker 2>this yearning for a JRPG, but I also don't want
<v Speaker 2>one that is going to be forty hours. I want
<v Speaker 2>one in the Goldilock zone that is maybe twenty to thirty.
<v Speaker 2>And I also don't want to play as children anymore.
<v Speaker 4>Oh okay, but consider, what if the children are really
<v Speaker 4>kind of quirky and weird and they don't even talk
<v Speaker 4>that much anyways, what if you played Earthbound?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, oh, I'll tell you what.
<v Speaker 4>I finally played earth Bound like last year, the year before,
<v Speaker 4>and I was so like, I don't.
<v Speaker 2>Get earth Bound.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know. And now I'm like a big earth
<v Speaker 4>Bound freak. I'm really I think about Earthbound constantly and
<v Speaker 4>how good it is. That's where PK fire Kid is from, right,
<v Speaker 4>That's where that's where ness is from. Okay, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>you know. Uh, it's a good game on SNS Classic
<v Speaker 4>because it can be sometimes it's difficult sometimes just rewindering
<v Speaker 4>and safe staying a little bit here and there. Not
<v Speaker 4>the worst thing in the world with that one, especially
<v Speaker 4>while you're sort of learning things.
<v Speaker 2>It's very good, all right, I may I may give
<v Speaker 2>that a look at lou Well. Going from one very chill,
<v Speaker 2>relaxing game to another one. We have updates from our
<v Speaker 2>own dam On seci Row.
<v Speaker 6>Game.
<v Speaker 4>It's yeah, Sei, yeah, it's it's perfect. It's perfect.
<v Speaker 3>I played again last night for a few hours and
<v Speaker 3>it's like I'm just getting mad or I'm feeling like
<v Speaker 3>a god. It's just just like everything I want, what
<v Speaker 3>I want a fucking video game to be.
<v Speaker 4>There are so many emotions when you're playing. Sometimes I'm like,
<v Speaker 4>I gotta take a break from watching dam for a moment.
<v Speaker 3>Because I will get legitimately pissed on, like this is bullshit.
<v Speaker 3>I can't see anything, I can't do, there's no way
<v Speaker 3>to block that attack, there's no anything. And then I'll
<v Speaker 3>go in the next time and I just feel like
<v Speaker 3>Neo and it's like, oh, okay, okay, So I assumed
<v Speaker 3>like spoilers are not a thing for seci Row at this.
<v Speaker 4>Point, you can stop listening right now.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay.
<v Speaker 3>So there's the monkey gimmick, which I did last time
<v Speaker 3>I played, which was the time before yesterday, and it's.
<v Speaker 4>Like, okay, everyone I know about the whole deal.
<v Speaker 3>I think I know the big spoilers for sec hero Hi,
<v Speaker 3>he puts his head back on, it's not gonna get me.
<v Speaker 3>And then I didn't know that you go back into
<v Speaker 3>a fucking cave and headless monkey has a wife and
<v Speaker 3>they both fight you.
<v Speaker 4>You come back to life and fights you with his wife.
<v Speaker 4>It's so perfectly designed because if first you're just fighting
<v Speaker 4>the one monkey and you like get his first health
<v Speaker 4>piped down, and then the second monkey shows two things.
<v Speaker 4>You get the death blow.
<v Speaker 3>Its like ha ha, I got you again, and oh
<v Speaker 3>fuck he's coming back to life. Oh fuck his wife.
<v Speaker 4>It's so funny because like chat was to beat, like
<v Speaker 4>oh Dad, go here, because you know you're on the
<v Speaker 4>bucky for a bit. You finally beat that, like we
<v Speaker 4>go to this cave, Dad, go to this cave.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, yeah, Dad, go to the cave.
<v Speaker 3>So last night, I think I'm done with the monkeys.
<v Speaker 3>I killed both the monkeys, the man and his wife
<v Speaker 3>and what else is going on there now? So I
<v Speaker 3>got the puppet ability, which is cool, like you can
<v Speaker 3>do that death blow thing and turn enemies into puppets,
<v Speaker 3>which yes, introduces a whole fun element of you know,
<v Speaker 3>different ways you can approach like hard bosses and stuff.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm pushing right up against this fight with Owl. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>An told my father, Yeah it's I I tried it twice,
<v Speaker 3>just like okay, what's the deal here, because it's like
<v Speaker 3>it's not a thing where it's like if you're almost
<v Speaker 3>done playing that game, it's like all right, if I
<v Speaker 3>want to give a real run at this boss, this
<v Speaker 3>could be a couple hours of learning his moves and
<v Speaker 3>having the muscle memory and stuff like, I'm not gonna
<v Speaker 3>wait a few days and come back with this, So like,
<v Speaker 3>next time I play, I'm gonna fight Owl. But uh, like, Mike,
<v Speaker 3>would you say that, is is that harder than the
<v Speaker 3>Ganchiro fight or is that kind of on the same
<v Speaker 3>It's in the.
<v Speaker 4>Same same, it's the same level, I would say, I
<v Speaker 4>think it. Yeah, I bet there's some people who struggle
<v Speaker 4>more in that one or more in Gneture. I think
<v Speaker 4>for me those two are pretty similar. Okay, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>So you know, it's hard to say because different people
<v Speaker 4>struggle with different bosses. Like Madam Butterfly was absolutely, you know,
<v Speaker 4>super rough for me that one. That one like took
<v Speaker 4>me a long time. And then I did really go
<v Speaker 4>on the bull for example, which I think took you
<v Speaker 4>a few more tries, I'll tell you what.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, And then there are ones two wheres like I
<v Speaker 3>just fought that orin that like a lady that plays
<v Speaker 3>a guitar in a mouth, or she gets pissed off
<v Speaker 3>and tries to kill you, and uh, like the first
<v Speaker 3>few times I fought her, I was like, this sucks.
<v Speaker 3>I'm just gonna my ass kicked, and then it's just
<v Speaker 3>like something just clicks in your brain and I just
<v Speaker 3>destroyed her. And then there's the thing later where there's
<v Speaker 3>the two purple guys as you're heading up to the
<v Speaker 3>owl fight and it's like first time, it's like this
<v Speaker 3>is insane. They're both overwhelming me. And then it's like, okay, wait,
<v Speaker 3>I can sneak in and I can kill one of
<v Speaker 3>them's stealth before I fight the other, and I realized that, like,
<v Speaker 3>oh shit, I can do the puppet thing to him
<v Speaker 3>and he can help me in the fight. And it's
<v Speaker 3>like I got to remember to do that next time.
<v Speaker 3>But I just fought the other guy perfectly and killed
<v Speaker 3>him and I didn't need to and it's like like
<v Speaker 3>oh shit, Like it is all just skill based, it's
<v Speaker 3>all pattern recognition, it's all timing. It's just like everything
<v Speaker 3>I want out of a game.
<v Speaker 4>I love it so like it is.
<v Speaker 3>I think I think Eldon Ree is one of the
<v Speaker 3>best games of all time, like ever ever, Like I
<v Speaker 3>put it up there with like Breath the Wild, I
<v Speaker 3>think I like this more.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I was the same the way like once I played,
<v Speaker 4>I'm like this is this is the best. This is
<v Speaker 4>gonna be the best action game of all time, you know. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>it keeps you very honest sort of like little things
<v Speaker 4>you can do to help, Like like you know, you
<v Speaker 4>have those tools which are like the secondary attacks, and
<v Speaker 4>some of them are just strong against certain bosses, the scalies. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>like the Headless Monkey. You can use the sphere. I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 4>this this helps a lot. So you can go get
<v Speaker 4>the sphere, you can go fight a different boss a
<v Speaker 4>different path, and that's gonna give you the one of
<v Speaker 4>the permanent attack upgrades or things like that. So there
<v Speaker 4>are things you can do, but it's not like an
<v Speaker 4>outer Ring or a doxl. So you could just go
<v Speaker 4>level up a ton and invite three friends and you
<v Speaker 4>know you can't chease it.
<v Speaker 2>You just can't, which is how I did it.
<v Speaker 3>Like I always talk about how I over level myself
<v Speaker 3>and those other games, I think I neglect to mention
<v Speaker 3>I also summon as many actual people as possible, and
<v Speaker 3>then I hide in a corner. So it's like, this
<v Speaker 3>is the first time I've had to confront my fears
<v Speaker 3>of these bosses, and it turns out that's a way
<v Speaker 3>more fun way to play fine.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think I had a go ahead, Jeff good,
<v Speaker 1>I was gonna say I had such a similar thing
<v Speaker 1>with this and Breadth of the Wild, not that the
<v Speaker 1>games are similar, but like when I was playing them,
<v Speaker 1>I played Breath of the Wild right when I had.
<v Speaker 4>Emmy and she would like lay next to me. Oh,
<v Speaker 4>I played that.
<v Speaker 1>And I played this right as Addie was born, and
<v Speaker 1>I have a video on my YouTube page of me
<v Speaker 1>holding her. You can't actually see the video, but during
<v Speaker 1>the video that I recorded, I'm holding Addie while playing
<v Speaker 1>Genichiro and I actually beat him while she was sitting
<v Speaker 1>in my lap, and I was so proud of this.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, look, I'm not gonna once shot many of
<v Speaker 1>these things, but this one I beat with this kind
<v Speaker 1>of my lap, and I think that's pretty pretty fun.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it doesn't have.
<v Speaker 3>Me thinking I want to look up some stuff of
<v Speaker 3>like people that like really love from and I'm curious
<v Speaker 3>what the general feeling is if there was like a
<v Speaker 3>tier list or ranking, like is Securo and elden Ring
<v Speaker 3>typically the top two?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean a lot of people like a lot
<v Speaker 4>a lot of the real from Sikous I think are
<v Speaker 4>gonna like Bloodborn like Darksels one, maybe there's three even
<v Speaker 4>more the lore especially, I think that, Yeah, what a
<v Speaker 4>lot of them will are honestly danelon them like it's
<v Speaker 4>real even really a Soul's like because it's so different.
<v Speaker 4>So a lot of people who are like super from
<v Speaker 4>soft fans because of the Dark Soul style, maybe they're
<v Speaker 4>not playing as much seker unecessary. Not not all the time.
<v Speaker 4>It's not a lot of times. It's all the same.
<v Speaker 3>But do you do you think if I were to
<v Speaker 3>go back and play Bloodborne now after using it the
<v Speaker 3>hell the first time, do you think I would enjoy
<v Speaker 3>it and appreciate it on a different level now that
<v Speaker 3>I did?
<v Speaker 4>Very curious? Yeah, I think so, even like Dark Souls
<v Speaker 4>like three, which kind of has that faster paced combat again.
<v Speaker 4>Uh yeah, Bloodborne Dark Souls three especially, I I kind
<v Speaker 4>of want to go back to Elden Ring and be like,
<v Speaker 4>I don't I want to try to beat this game
<v Speaker 4>without using any summons, even my little like ring buddy thing,
<v Speaker 4>And I think it that might just be a fun
<v Speaker 4>little challenge.
<v Speaker 3>Just a lot of people mentions blood Borne on PC,
<v Speaker 3>what's the deal there is? It's just runs sixty frames
<v Speaker 3>per second now on PC easily. Well not with your
<v Speaker 3>fan God, that's so sorry, Oh my god.
<v Speaker 2>I think that.
<v Speaker 4>I think that ape is my favorite boss fight in
<v Speaker 4>any of the Soul's game. Actually, I love fighting that
<v Speaker 4>Ape's incredible. That one just slipped with me so well,
<v Speaker 4>it's a good gimmick. I like it.
<v Speaker 3>But it's like I think I definitely prefer the ones
<v Speaker 3>that are kind of like I've always liked boss fights
<v Speaker 3>where it's someone that's like kind of roughly your size,
<v Speaker 3>roughly your size, very nimble with cool attacks or like
<v Speaker 3>skyscraper sized, you know, but they have.
<v Speaker 1>Your abilities if you have the same basically, they have
<v Speaker 1>the same abilities essentially. That's why I like the Guinea
<v Speaker 1>Chero fight so much.
<v Speaker 4>It's like, no, this is just me.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, And the Owl fight is very interesting to me
<v Speaker 3>from just the two I tried to he throws the
<v Speaker 3>little ball out the mix so you can't heal, and things.
<v Speaker 4>Like yeah, yeah, avoid that at all costs. Boy.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, y'all are just reminding me of the Lady Maria
<v Speaker 2>fight and Bloodborne and Jesus Christ, I think that's like
<v Speaker 2>a top ten boss battle because that's another person that
<v Speaker 2>is just your size. She has abilities that you could have,
<v Speaker 2>has a weapon that you could eventually equip. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>she's from the DLC. I liked that fight a ton.
<v Speaker 4>Gosh. Yeah, I appreciated blood Borne so much more when
<v Speaker 4>I recently replayed it than when I played it the
<v Speaker 4>first time back then. And I was still kind of like,
<v Speaker 4>I was like, I kind of was figuring out what
<v Speaker 4>a soul's game was like, but I don't know. It
<v Speaker 4>is a genre, and they are games that just kind
<v Speaker 4>of click better when something happens. I don't know what
<v Speaker 4>it is.
<v Speaker 3>Wisdom some patients, you know, accepting the game on its
<v Speaker 3>own terms and not wanting it to be something and yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I mean this isn't God of War.
<v Speaker 2>I'm I'm very curious if and when y'all eventually decide
<v Speaker 2>to check out Wise of P because I do consider
<v Speaker 2>it a good one of those that isn't from from.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I'm gonna do it soon. I am actually kind
<v Speaker 4>of like feeling with Dross a little bit of like
<v Speaker 4>I gotta need to play one of these problem I'm
<v Speaker 4>becoming one of the Sikos.
<v Speaker 2>Same thing.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, I was like, oh, I actually marked my
<v Speaker 1>calendar from Neo three. I'm like, I'm just going to
<v Speaker 1>hop into that one that's out, So.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I'm going to try that.
<v Speaker 2>Fantastic, fantastic. Well, happy to hear the updates, Dan when
<v Speaker 2>you eventually finished Securo. I'd love to go through your
<v Speaker 2>twenty nineteen Game of the Year list to see where
<v Speaker 2>you think you would rank at this point.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, because I think I had Outer Wild at number one,
<v Speaker 3>which I do adore Outer Wild, but I don't know
<v Speaker 3>if anything makes me feel the way secure it is. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>so I'm pretty sure they'd be number one with the Bullet.
<v Speaker 4>When I reconsidered it recently, I'm like, yeah, Secro's number one.
<v Speaker 4>It's just too good.
<v Speaker 2>Well, I'm glad that it has reignited a flame for
<v Speaker 2>from software games, just like Spiro Regnited Trilogy has that
<v Speaker 2>brought the Purple Dragon back to Mikey.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>I was just in a three D platformer mood this
<v Speaker 4>past weekend, and when the Ring My Trilogy came out,
<v Speaker 4>I played Spiral one and really enjoyed it. Then I
<v Speaker 4>think I started to and then got distracted once somewhere else.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, I want to finally play through Spiro two
<v Speaker 4>on this thing. It just in Joe, I never played.
<v Speaker 4>I never played too much of the Spiral games on
<v Speaker 4>PS one for whatever reason, so I never actually played
<v Speaker 4>through Spiral two. So yeah, I just jumped in there.
<v Speaker 4>It is just a very simple not simple but again
<v Speaker 4>chill simple, but it's straightforward. Yeah, it in a way
<v Speaker 4>that I want, like, yeah, give me a game where
<v Speaker 4>I just kind of go and jump around and there's
<v Speaker 4>a little hub world that takes me to other levels.
<v Speaker 4>It Spiral feels very good to control, especially in this one,
<v Speaker 4>because you actually have you have a good degree of
<v Speaker 4>control when he's doing that charge attack you at that
<v Speaker 4>little like flutter you can do at the end of
<v Speaker 4>a glide to give you just a little bit more
<v Speaker 4>vertical movement to get onto some ledges. It's very colorful.
<v Speaker 4>They did a very good job with that remake at
<v Speaker 4>twice a Bob, so it's still a very good looking game.
<v Speaker 4>But it's funny because the cut scenes already look a
<v Speaker 4>little dated because those were pre rendered at like, you know,
<v Speaker 4>ten eighty p and maybe not sixty frames per second.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, oh, it's weird that these already look a
<v Speaker 4>little bad. Now this remake is like twenty eighteen. Wow,
<v Speaker 4>how long ago that is? Comparatively already, but I think
<v Speaker 4>itself still looks fantastic, still plays fantastic. There is something
<v Speaker 4>still very pswey about it, just the kind of format
<v Speaker 4>of it all, Like, yeah, go these portals, go these
<v Speaker 4>relatively small levels, go through the main objective, and there's
<v Speaker 4>a few side things you can do to get the collectibles.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, yeah, give me the collectibles. I like collecting things.
<v Speaker 4>Isn't that nice.
<v Speaker 3>I do think it's out of all the like Mario
<v Speaker 3>sixty four, you know, inspired three D platformers of the
<v Speaker 3>late nineties, I do think Spiro is probably the one
<v Speaker 3>that aged the best.
<v Speaker 1>I agree, that's exactly what I was going to say.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's right there. It's very very fun.
<v Speaker 2>Is Ratchet and Clink past that? That's like, that's these
<v Speaker 2>people that's.
<v Speaker 4>As omniac, So the Spier people would become the Ratchet
<v Speaker 4>and Clink people, right, they know what they're doing. Yeah. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>And I like the Crash ban Accouts. I like Banjo Kazui.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I definitely I think because this has the
<v Speaker 4>more wide been exploration, it's not as linear as the
<v Speaker 4>Crash Batycoot games. It's not quite as Benja Kazuois almost
<v Speaker 4>it's pretty gimmicky. I don't want to say gimmicky in
<v Speaker 4>a battle, but you know, it's a lot of go
<v Speaker 4>talk to this guy and become a bee and I'll
<v Speaker 4>go soft puzzle here. And it's a game show, right,
<v Speaker 4>It's a lot of vignettes and kind of silly things.
<v Speaker 4>It's not so much about platforming. There's a lot of
<v Speaker 4>collect it's a collecting thing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's a good one. It's a really good one.
<v Speaker 4>A lot. Yeah, I prefer Banjo to Spiro, but they're
<v Speaker 4>right there. The rare Where does the three D ray
<v Speaker 4>Man game rank for you? All two is great fantasy too. Specifically,
<v Speaker 4>it was pretty beloved, especially at the time. I do
<v Speaker 4>want to play it again, although I'm I don't want
<v Speaker 4>to play the D sixty four version because I'm a
<v Speaker 4>brat who played it on Dreamcast first and now like
<v Speaker 4>I can't. I can't handle the blurry before. I can't.
<v Speaker 4>I'm sorry. Yeah, yeah, it's right there for me as well.
<v Speaker 4>That game kind of maybe right behind Spiro?
<v Speaker 2>Is this, uh this collection new? When did this come out?
<v Speaker 4>Twenty eighteen, twenty eighteen, it's been out for a while. Okay,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not until this trilogy.
<v Speaker 2>It is.
<v Speaker 4>It is an excellent trilogy. I think a lot about
<v Speaker 4>in the Spiral one remake. They did so in the
<v Speaker 4>original Spiral game you get the rest of all the dragons,
<v Speaker 4>and every dragon is just this one kind of you know,
<v Speaker 4>model of the dragon, and they're just palette swaps. And
<v Speaker 4>then the remake, every dragon has a very very unique
<v Speaker 4>design and this filled with character like one's clearly a clockmaker,
<v Speaker 4>they' the one's an artist. And to me, this is
<v Speaker 4>one of most impressive things I've ever seen a video
<v Speaker 4>game developer do. Was how much attention they put into
<v Speaker 4>giving each of these eighty dragons this distinct design and
<v Speaker 4>personality when you know it would have been quote unquote
<v Speaker 4>more you know, true to the original to just make
<v Speaker 4>them palette swaps of the same generic adult dragon. So yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I don't know. I just think they did such an
<v Speaker 4>incredible job with this. I know they're working on something
<v Speaker 4>new at Twys for Bob. I kind of hope it
<v Speaker 4>is just a new Spiral. I would love to see
<v Speaker 4>them make a new one like they did they made
<v Speaker 4>Crash four and I loved the Crash bandicoot for so
<v Speaker 4>I'd be super into anything they do the Spiral games.
<v Speaker 1>This Ignited trilogy is one of the few sort of
<v Speaker 1>plastic three D platformers that I could sit in front
<v Speaker 1>of my very young kids when it came out and
<v Speaker 1>they were just like, no, we get it, Like we
<v Speaker 1>could play this.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It's kind of super playable in that way as well,
<v Speaker 1>where it's like even very young audiences you get it immediately.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, even when the originals came out. I remember I
<v Speaker 4>like cousins that were a few years younger than me,
<v Speaker 4>and they really like Spiral, and I was baby, just
<v Speaker 4>you know, this is like my I'm playing half life time, right,
<v Speaker 4>I didn have two I didn't have much of an
<v Speaker 4>edgy mic window, but perhaps existed for just a moment
<v Speaker 4>in the late nineties where I was yeah, happened.
<v Speaker 2>To everybody then yeah yeah, uh well, going from one
<v Speaker 2>game that I didn't realize was out to another game
<v Speaker 2>that I'm confused why it isn't completely out deadlock Mike
<v Speaker 2>and I check this out on UPF last week. No,
<v Speaker 2>this isn't the lovable Wholigan's talking about old wrestling. This
<v Speaker 2>is the Valve first person, not first person shooter, a
<v Speaker 2>character shooter, third person Moba like and Mike and I
<v Speaker 2>and Christian check this out last week. Mike, what did
<v Speaker 2>you think of Deadlock?
<v Speaker 4>Well, I played it a bit when it first sort
<v Speaker 4>of came out right and it was more weird hush hut.
<v Speaker 4>So it's been a bit. It is impressive how far
<v Speaker 4>it has come now. It feels like a complete game already. Really.
<v Speaker 4>I know there's some maybe art stuff in the world
<v Speaker 4>they're working on, but there are a ton of characters.
<v Speaker 4>This is kind of hub world in this mansion that
<v Speaker 4>you hang out with in between matches. It feels it
<v Speaker 4>feels a crowd we put together to the point where
<v Speaker 4>this could easily be a one point oh release to me,
<v Speaker 4>And it was fun just messing around with all the
<v Speaker 4>different characters and jumping in there. I think the art
<v Speaker 4>style looks really good. It like this. It's doing the
<v Speaker 4>kind of somewhat sci fi noir thing here in an
<v Speaker 4>interesting way that helps it stand out from all the
<v Speaker 4>other hero shooters a lot of those that are just
<v Speaker 4>more straight up sci fi or superhero inspired. So yeah,
<v Speaker 4>artistically definitely is standing out there. My cop points of
<v Speaker 4>the game are just basically my complaints for movas where
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, oh, why is there a shop? Why do
<v Speaker 4>I have to make all of these decisions? I don't know,
<v Speaker 4>Just do that for me. Look, I don't know if
<v Speaker 4>I need more health regent or plus fifty to kinetic shields.
<v Speaker 4>I don't want to be that in the weeds. Some
<v Speaker 4>people do. I get it, but that's you know, not
<v Speaker 4>necessarily for me. And just you know, matches are very long,
<v Speaker 4>even though within ten minutes you usually know who's gonna win.
<v Speaker 4>So then it just kind of becomes this weird march
<v Speaker 4>to defeat that last forever there was that other mode
<v Speaker 4>does more fast street all yeah, and it's just like
<v Speaker 4>the a Ram, like okay, everybody on one lane, and
<v Speaker 4>I definitely like the pace of that more, even though
<v Speaker 4>there's sill some questions there of like okay, like certain
<v Speaker 4>characters are better at this because everybody starts with their ultimate.
<v Speaker 4>In general, these games have big learning curves. This one
<v Speaker 4>doesn't feel as insurmountable as a DODA two does, where
<v Speaker 4>I played that one time, I was like, Nope, don't
<v Speaker 4>don't want to invest in this. With Deadlock, I do
<v Speaker 4>feel pool where it would be fun to invest some
<v Speaker 4>more time into it.
<v Speaker 2>How about you, Jam, This is probably the worst thing
<v Speaker 2>to happen to me this year Deadlock, because I played
<v Speaker 2>nothing but this over the weekend, and it is this
<v Speaker 2>game Deadlock and Pokemon Unite, which I feel like are
<v Speaker 2>good twists on the mobile formula that kind of speeds
<v Speaker 2>up the pace because, like you said, Mike, a game
<v Speaker 2>of League or a game of DoD To two can
<v Speaker 2>take upwards to like forty fifty minutes, and like when
<v Speaker 2>you're generally at the twenty minute mark, you kind of
<v Speaker 2>do kind of know where the game is headed, and
<v Speaker 2>you don't want to quit out because you might be
<v Speaker 2>cued up with friends or you don't want that to
<v Speaker 2>affect your general standings as a player. But the games
<v Speaker 2>of Pokemon Unite are I think they're just like three
<v Speaker 2>five minutes, and the street Ball street Brawl mode games
<v Speaker 2>here in Deadlock last maybe at most fifteen to twenty minutes.
<v Speaker 2>It depends on, like how the rounds go back and forth.
<v Speaker 4>It is the first win three rounds, right, so it's
<v Speaker 4>sometimes you can go to round five.
<v Speaker 2>But this specifically Deadlock has kind of reignited and reminded
<v Speaker 2>me why I do like MOBA's and that is the
<v Speaker 2>dangerous aspect of it, because I was only doing street
<v Speaker 2>brawl because it kind of has a roguelike element where
<v Speaker 2>instead of visiting a shop as each round starts, you
<v Speaker 2>get the option to pick three different power ups, and
<v Speaker 2>like Mike said that, you can affect your HPU regeneration,
<v Speaker 2>bullet resistance, spirit damage.
<v Speaker 4>Right, some even consumables rights yeah, bound to like x
<v Speaker 4>Z and C things like that.
<v Speaker 2>And then I started learning more about the different heroes
<v Speaker 2>they have Mike, and then I started learning about proper
<v Speaker 2>build orders that you can kind of fudge around, and
<v Speaker 2>then I started feeling like I was becoming a sicko,
<v Speaker 2>and then I just fully embraced it and just decide
<v Speaker 2>to go for the full on mode, which is six
<v Speaker 2>v six and it is just a straight up mobia
<v Speaker 2>and the thing that just because it was mine and
<v Speaker 2>Mike and Christians like first time in the game, well,
<v Speaker 2>Mike played previously, but in its current iteration, there is
<v Speaker 2>so much that we were missing.
<v Speaker 4>In sure trying to say that there was pairying, and
<v Speaker 4>I still don't really understand what they mean by that.
<v Speaker 4>Oh God, I have made a chant. What do you
<v Speaker 4>mean there's pairing? I'm shooting people.
<v Speaker 5>This is probably the sickest fucking game in the world,
<v Speaker 5>y'all become man. You have pairing, and then you have
<v Speaker 5>different skills for characters. And then if you got a
<v Speaker 5>lane going at like maybe the five to eight minute
<v Speaker 5>I hate it. My internal clock is starting to like
<v Speaker 5>go because at the five to eight minute round, if
<v Speaker 5>you win your lane, go explore the city, baby, Go
<v Speaker 5>hit the boxes, get the statues, Go get.
<v Speaker 2>Them souls, Go get that money, and then hit up
<v Speaker 2>the shop. And then the neat thing and I think
<v Speaker 2>most mobiles do this at this point, but you can
<v Speaker 2>set a build order, so you just visit the shop.
<v Speaker 2>If you have enough money, you'll just start getting the
<v Speaker 2>stuff that you've predefined on your like little wish list.
<v Speaker 2>And also the neat thing that Deadlock does is it
<v Speaker 2>lets users put up their own shopping lists or recommended
<v Speaker 2>builds of like, hey, this is how I play this character,
<v Speaker 2>and then you could just take that on. It's fucking
<v Speaker 2>a banger. That does help the But the I think
<v Speaker 2>the most crucial part that Mike and I didn't quite
<v Speaker 2>explore when we were playing last Friday during UPF that
<v Speaker 2>have come to learn is this Deadlock has rocket League
<v Speaker 2>like movement in terms of how satisfying and how mobile
<v Speaker 2>you can be, because I was.
<v Speaker 4>Getting a sense of that too, and like that did
<v Speaker 4>feel like you can kind of like roll and like
<v Speaker 4>jump out of the roll and then hit a wall
<v Speaker 4>and jump off that, And I was a gain a
<v Speaker 4>small sense of that while we were playing.
<v Speaker 2>And then since then, I've become a little freak and
<v Speaker 2>I will just go into the training grounds, pick the
<v Speaker 2>character I like, and then practice doing all these complicated
<v Speaker 2>movements of like doing your dash for to a jump
<v Speaker 2>into a slide, canceling that and then jumping off of
<v Speaker 2>another wall. And then the thing is, when you were
<v Speaker 2>playing at the lower rankings like I am, everyone is
<v Speaker 2>treating it like it's more of a character shooter and
<v Speaker 2>not using any of the movement abilities, like they'll just
<v Speaker 2>use it to like dash in, dash out. There's so
<v Speaker 2>many other ways to engage and disengage. It's I absolutely
<v Speaker 2>adore this game, and I need to delete it from
<v Speaker 2>my computer or else it'll consume me. One of the
<v Speaker 2>heroes I really like is Pocket. He is a dude
<v Speaker 2>with a briefcase. He shoots out of my ghost. It's
<v Speaker 2>fucking great. I was initially turned off because I'd come
<v Speaker 2>to really like close combat Melee characters because of my
<v Speaker 2>time playing Marvel Rivals. This actually has a lot of that.
<v Speaker 2>Abrams is voiced by or Deer for Samoa Joe, So
<v Speaker 2>it's just funny hearing him just like rat along off
<v Speaker 2>in the background talking about solving cases and shit. This
<v Speaker 2>this guy kind of looks like hell Boy, right, yes, yes,
<v Speaker 2>blue hell Boy. And the interesting thing is they have
<v Speaker 2>this voting system where the users themselves can vote on
<v Speaker 2>which character do you want to come out next? We
<v Speaker 2>got four available and now this were Wolf Lady's available
<v Speaker 2>in the game. She's messing up my shit. I also
<v Speaker 2>started playing as like this little owl thing that throws
<v Speaker 2>pillows and makes people sleepy.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, the characters are very good. Yeah, Like this
<v Speaker 4>little owl guy is kind of more of a a
<v Speaker 4>zoner if that's the correct term, and don't don't don't
<v Speaker 4>yell at me if it's not. But yeah, they can
<v Speaker 4>put people to sleep things like that. Just there are
<v Speaker 4>so many interesting characters and that that's what might well
<v Speaker 4>meet back in Like I don't know if they're any good,
<v Speaker 4>but there's this personally just looks like a like a
<v Speaker 4>stage magician and just as like shooting magic spells and
<v Speaker 4>like one the abilities, he summons his assistant and then
<v Speaker 4>like she's shooting to a little bit like Loki and
<v Speaker 4>Marvel Rivals. You can tell report to the assistant. Oh,
<v Speaker 4>I don't know. I like this specific flavor going on
<v Speaker 4>over here, like something's a bit more, particularly a robot
<v Speaker 4>and they can you know, shoot people for a lightning
<v Speaker 4>gun thing kind of. But even then the design is
<v Speaker 4>very good. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Also, why isn't this game out? Who knows Valve does
<v Speaker 2>what Valve wants to do?
<v Speaker 4>That's coat I think I heard like they're still finalizing
<v Speaker 4>art assets in the map itself. Now maybe maybe that's
<v Speaker 4>practically it.
<v Speaker 2>There's no way we go through this year.
<v Speaker 4>This game doesn't get a one point over release if
<v Speaker 4>it's looking the way it was looking to me. But
<v Speaker 4>who knows. Some things are just technically and breathe Alpha forever.
<v Speaker 4>But I mean, you still need to be invited to
<v Speaker 4>play this game. Not getting invited is very easy. Anybody
<v Speaker 4>who owns the who is in the game right now
<v Speaker 4>can invite you, so if you want to play, you can't.
<v Speaker 4>But it's still not as easy as going to the
<v Speaker 4>store page and just clicking a button. There is still
<v Speaker 4>a barrier right now, and god, I can't.
<v Speaker 2>I actually can't stop playing this game. I meant to
<v Speaker 2>check out the next game we'll talk about, but then
<v Speaker 2>I just fired up a game of street Brawl instead Deadlock.
<v Speaker 2>If you are at all curious, I don't know, maybe
<v Speaker 2>if High Guard wasn't for you. Like Mike said, it
<v Speaker 2>is fairly easy to get an invite to go play Deadlock.
<v Speaker 2>Highly recommend it.
<v Speaker 4>I see a cratics and guys being like, uh, you
<v Speaker 4>know it's not done. You know it got one more year.
<v Speaker 4>There's still a way for jungle creeps, towers, and a
<v Speaker 4>lot of the artists placeholder. Probably there's one character whose
<v Speaker 4>textures is just green, so I guess there's more stuff.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, it just at a first glance in me,
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, well, this thing's ready to go practically.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I love early access.
<v Speaker 4>I'm glad you guys got in there and reported on this.
<v Speaker 4>That's awesome.
<v Speaker 2>That being said, I have in a fugue state yesterday
<v Speaker 2>thought what if I bring back Daily Doda?
<v Speaker 4>But it's just dead look, and then I want to.
<v Speaker 1>Play some more of this, so maybe sir of me
<v Speaker 1>through it here in the next Yeah, we let's just.
<v Speaker 2>Do a game of street brawl, very fun, very easy.
<v Speaker 4>Now I do want to play more Shin. Yeah, let's go.
<v Speaker 2>I know a certain individual that used to work at
<v Speaker 2>this website that plays a good chunk of it, and
<v Speaker 2>I want to play with him. Yeah, folks, last game
<v Speaker 2>we have here on the list has been climbing up
<v Speaker 2>the review charts because it's been doing fairly well. And
<v Speaker 2>I meant to play this earlier, but Jeff Grub, you've
<v Speaker 2>been playing it, and I feel like this is a
<v Speaker 2>very odd name for a game because everyone says it differently.
<v Speaker 1>Karen, Yeah, it's one syllable. I think that's the thing
<v Speaker 1>to keep in mind that that's throwing people off. Cairen
<v Speaker 1>Karen is just like a pile of rocks that people
<v Speaker 1>use as like a marker when they're hiking or something
<v Speaker 1>like that. It is a climbing game. I like games
<v Speaker 1>about moving objects, cars, bodies, people, things through three D space.
<v Speaker 1>I like when the game is like, let's make that
<v Speaker 1>something you have to think about a huge baby steps fan.
<v Speaker 1>This is a more traditional climbing game where you're playing
<v Speaker 1>as someone who's very capable. They know how to climb,
<v Speaker 1>and it does a thing where it's like, okay, you
<v Speaker 1>were going to move one limbit a time. As you
<v Speaker 1>move these limbs, you sort of lock them in place,
<v Speaker 1>and you want to lock them in place by looking
<v Speaker 1>visually at the rocks themselves and seeing if they have
<v Speaker 1>an obvious ledge, if there's a divot, if there's a
<v Speaker 1>crack in the wall, anything you could sort of lock
<v Speaker 1>your hand into to get a secure grip, and then
<v Speaker 1>you want to do that with the other hand and
<v Speaker 1>both feet as well. And as long as you have
<v Speaker 1>a firm placement for each of these limbs, your character
<v Speaker 1>should be good. You shouldn't lose enough, shouldn't lose a
<v Speaker 1>ton of stamina, should be able to continue to climb.
<v Speaker 1>But there's not always a ton of great stuff on
<v Speaker 1>the wall, or it takes a while to begin to
<v Speaker 1>visually understand it. And it does the thing where if
<v Speaker 1>you press the left trigger or left bumper I can't remember,
<v Speaker 1>I think it's left bumper, it zooms out and you
<v Speaker 1>could kind of get a good view of the rock
<v Speaker 1>wall in front of or ahead of you, so you're like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>I could start to plan a path. And that's been
<v Speaker 1>very useful, and it's something I like as well about
<v Speaker 1>this game. It's very much about visualizing how you're gonna
<v Speaker 1>get this character character up the wall, and then executing
<v Speaker 1>on that vision, and then dealing with any of the
<v Speaker 1>setbacks that come from. Oh, I didn't foresee this being
<v Speaker 1>a problem.
<v Speaker 2>I got to figure this out.
<v Speaker 1>If one of your limbs is not like securely on
<v Speaker 1>one of these ledges or in a crack or something
<v Speaker 1>like that, they do begin to experience stamina a little
<v Speaker 1>bit faster.
<v Speaker 4>Not so much so that you're gonna immediately fall.
<v Speaker 1>Or anything like that, but enough so that if like
<v Speaker 1>another limb is not well supported, then you're gonna begin
<v Speaker 1>to see your character shake. And that's the visual feedback
<v Speaker 1>of Okay, the limp, the right leg is shaking. I
<v Speaker 1>need to like do a couple of things here. Either
<v Speaker 1>find a secure hold or I could take a pitt
<v Speaker 1>a paton that one. I shall know how to say,
<v Speaker 1>pete pulm. Probably yeah. And it's like a little minigame.
<v Speaker 1>It's active reload. You're like, Okay, I'm gonna hold up
<v Speaker 1>on the dep head. I'm gonna take my piton out
<v Speaker 1>and as long as I hit X right in the
<v Speaker 1>time it's in the meaty part of the graph, I
<v Speaker 1>will get be able to secure it and then I
<v Speaker 1>can just hang on it on the wall and rest
<v Speaker 1>and recover. You have a certain number of those, and
<v Speaker 1>if you don't get it in the middle part of
<v Speaker 1>the bar when you are doing the active reload to
<v Speaker 1>actually put it into the into the wall, you'll likely
<v Speaker 1>break it and then you'll you won't have enough you
<v Speaker 1>can recover those. You can build new ones once you
<v Speaker 1>get the camp, so you've got to half rely on that,
<v Speaker 1>But mostly you just want to be looking at the
<v Speaker 1>wall and working your way up and occasionally hitting occasionally
<v Speaker 1>getting all lambs secure and then hitting y on the
<v Speaker 1>on the Xbox controller to sort of shake your arms
<v Speaker 1>out and reset the stamina a little bit. It's really
<v Speaker 1>good in terms of what it's going for of trying
<v Speaker 1>to make it feel like you are thinking about climbing deeply,
<v Speaker 1>and then also getting a really awesome view of this
<v Speaker 1>great landscape and looking back down at where you came from,
<v Speaker 1>and like continuing to look up at the mountain and
<v Speaker 1>be like, how am I ever going to get to
<v Speaker 1>the top of there? But then every time you look
<v Speaker 1>back you're like, look how far I've come. These are
<v Speaker 1>all really cool feelings to have in a game.
<v Speaker 4>It nails it.
<v Speaker 1>I think there's some story stuff happening that I'm just
<v Speaker 1>beginning to kind of suss out a little bit, but
<v Speaker 1>people seem really into that stuff general.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, right, yeah, exactly.
<v Speaker 1>That's where I'm like, OK, I want to pay attention
<v Speaker 1>to that.
<v Speaker 3>When I was first hearing about this, I thought it
<v Speaker 3>sounded kind of like Jussant, But I think I brought
<v Speaker 3>it up during the charity stream and I think you
<v Speaker 3>and Geller were like, no, it's not like Jusant.
<v Speaker 4>It sounds like a.
<v Speaker 3>Little more demanding on like the gameplay, it's less of
<v Speaker 3>a kind of chill, cozy game.
<v Speaker 1>So I think it's got a similar sort of tone
<v Speaker 1>to Jussant, Like it presents itself similar to Jussant, playing
<v Speaker 1>it is very different, like you just move your character by,
<v Speaker 1>you know, moving the stick in Jussant, and that there's
<v Speaker 1>still some like planning the climb and looking where you're
<v Speaker 1>supposed to go, but then they make it very clear
<v Speaker 1>it's like this is the way to go.
<v Speaker 4>I hear it is.
<v Speaker 2>It's more a little bit more analog. It's not as analog.
<v Speaker 4>Baby Steps, where it's just all about moving this wobbly
<v Speaker 4>boy around, but it's still like, Okay, we have a
<v Speaker 4>surface here, and your character has these rules attached to
<v Speaker 4>all their physics objects.
<v Speaker 1>Just deal with that. Figure that out yourself. And that
<v Speaker 1>is a very unlike you son.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I see.
<v Speaker 1>There's also some slight light survival mechanics. You got to
<v Speaker 1>you gotta drink water, you gotta eat. There's a chalk
<v Speaker 1>system for your hands. Oh yes, you's got to have
<v Speaker 1>half a coconut, bitch. Absolutely, there is when you get
<v Speaker 1>to your camp, like there's these little kind of doorways
<v Speaker 1>painted on the mountain and you can it could be
<v Speaker 1>on the side of the wall or it could be
<v Speaker 1>up on a plateau surface. Either way, you set up
<v Speaker 1>a camp at these things. You go in the tent
<v Speaker 1>and there's cooking so you can cook up some food,
<v Speaker 1>Like if you collected a bunch of dandelions, you can
<v Speaker 1>make some dandylion tea that will give you a little
<v Speaker 1>bit more oomph as you're climbing.
<v Speaker 4>Things like that.
<v Speaker 1>And then this is where you can repair your patons
<v Speaker 1>and things like that. And then it seems like there
<v Speaker 1>is potential for there to be uh like, some very
<v Speaker 1>hard hitting character moments, but again I've not seen that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yet I'm pretty early as far as the climbing game goes.
<v Speaker 1>That my kind of thing.
<v Speaker 4>I think.
<v Speaker 1>I think this is going to hit pretty hard. I
<v Speaker 1>might stream a little bit of it in the morning's here,
<v Speaker 1>kind of like I did baby steps as I get
<v Speaker 1>to some of the more difficult stuff.
<v Speaker 2>I know that climbing, bouldering and everything is like really
<v Speaker 2>skyrocketed in terms of popularity. Do you all think climbing games,
<v Speaker 2>because we have so much of them now, are the
<v Speaker 2>new fishing games?
<v Speaker 4>It seems like there's more of them. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>that makes sense to me. Too bad, I mean, not
<v Speaker 4>too bad. I could go for a fishing game, honestly
<v Speaker 4>right now. I would love.
<v Speaker 2>Fishing specifically.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Do you all see another kind of like hobbyist sport
<v Speaker 2>or whatever kind of taking over being the next wave
<v Speaker 2>video game more?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, kayaking is gonna get big pretty soon. I think
<v Speaker 4>that Tomorrow game in VR a little bit ago. So yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I like that game there, Stealthy Stealth Kayak gamest Kayak
<v Speaker 4>game was the better V games I ever played.
<v Speaker 2>Pickle it was, Yeah, Mario Pickleball. Actually, that'd be funny.
<v Speaker 2>I'd play that.
<v Speaker 4>All right. Well, that about does it for among the
<v Speaker 4>Born of Fantasy. Credit everybody. I got the first one
<v Speaker 4>here because Dragon Quest seven eighty five.
<v Speaker 2>Scores so far.
<v Speaker 4>That's pretty good. Yeah yeah. Also I picked up Fable
<v Speaker 4>pretty cheap over the weekend too, So there's some pickups.
<v Speaker 1>I tried to look and see if someone made any bit.
<v Speaker 1>So I think maybe I just looked too late, or
<v Speaker 1>maybe that no, I was traveling. I was looking the
<v Speaker 1>week before that. Okay, never mind, and look just real quicker.
<v Speaker 1>Sean picked up dangon Rampa two by two and Crashout
<v Speaker 1>Crew and Chuck picked Chuck went crazy, Chuck picked up Titanium,
<v Speaker 1>Court entered the Gudget two and Persona four revival. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>all right, big big moves happening, everybody, the critic is happening.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm I'm I'm gonna go the indie route this year. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>I'm scoping some things out, folks. That about does it
<v Speaker 2>for video game talk. We're gonna take a quick bricky
<v Speaker 2>break and we will be back with.
<v Speaker 4>The news right after this breaking news. Ladies and gentlemen.
<v Speaker 2>We got him.
<v Speaker 4>We got him, shared and compromised to a permanent end.
<v Speaker 4>Are you doing jerfy?
<v Speaker 2>Okay? Not great, Jen, Do you want me to intro you?
<v Speaker 4>Yes?
<v Speaker 2>Please? Okay, normally after Jeff Grubb and the man who's
<v Speaker 2>laying down pipe in Jersey because the Internet won't let him,
<v Speaker 2>so he's gonna just Jerry rig his own situation. That's right.
<v Speaker 2>He's gonna run the longest Ethernet through a series of
<v Speaker 2>complicated tubes. Forget five G. He's here now.
<v Speaker 6>Jeff Beckler, Hey, thanks for that very warm and realistic welcome.
<v Speaker 6>I I know there's a lot going on in the
<v Speaker 6>world right.
<v Speaker 4>Now, and I say, what considered, how bad you have it?
<v Speaker 2>And my little problems are not real problems.
<v Speaker 1>You're under like hit lists because all the ship you
<v Speaker 1>say about five G. Maybe they're like, we're just molding
<v Speaker 1>us up as internet.
<v Speaker 2>For some it's unrelated. It's not the same thing, right,
<v Speaker 2>is it? Like what t mobile is your guy or whatever? No,
<v Speaker 2>this is just my fucking isp, that's it.
<v Speaker 4>It's not related to the dragons.
<v Speaker 2>It's not related to Oh, it could be the dragons,
<v Speaker 2>the machinelves. Oh, the dragons are a touchy subject.
<v Speaker 4>We need an update. I need to know what's going
<v Speaker 4>on with the dragons.
<v Speaker 2>Are you ship down underground?
<v Speaker 4>Right? Crowd.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, we went underground on the dragons. It's the dark web. Okay,
<v Speaker 2>we're on the dark Web now.
<v Speaker 1>I could buy some dragons.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's a touchy subject. They got to keep my
<v Speaker 6>voice down, Like I said, I I just I kind
<v Speaker 6>of don't know what to do aside from move like
<v Speaker 6>that's kind of where I'm at. Nope, that's kind of
<v Speaker 6>where I'm at right now. You know, it was funny
<v Speaker 6>when I was looking at when we were buying this house,
<v Speaker 6>like it occurred to me.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, oh, that's weird.
<v Speaker 6>They don't have FiOS just in this neighborhood. And you know,
<v Speaker 6>it was like a fleeting thought. And then you know,
<v Speaker 6>all these years later, it's coming back to bite me
<v Speaker 6>in the butthole. And I I just like, yes, L like,
<v Speaker 6>what's the Like, it's it's like coax cable Internet.
<v Speaker 1>It's like it's not though.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I understand you got to get it where
<v Speaker 2>you can get it, but like it's just insane.
<v Speaker 6>And I call these people and and then I just
<v Speaker 6>I don't want to talk to anyone anymore.
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to talk to anybody.
<v Speaker 6>I don't want them to ask me how the weather
<v Speaker 6>is where I am because I'm not in the mood
<v Speaker 6>to talk about the weather.
<v Speaker 2>I don't even know any more. Guys, if I'm talking
<v Speaker 2>to a.
<v Speaker 6>Person, oh no, you know, I mean, like you're real right,
<v Speaker 6>And it'll be like, what do you mean? And I'll
<v Speaker 6>be like, what time is it right now? And then
<v Speaker 6>they tell me like the whole time, but also the
<v Speaker 6>time zone, and I'm like, that's not a human answer.
<v Speaker 1>What's going on?
<v Speaker 2>I'm not happy? Could you actually run like a really
<v Speaker 2>long cable to like a different neighborhood, are you? Is
<v Speaker 2>that a joke?
<v Speaker 4>What you could do?
<v Speaker 1>You could do the microwave thing, where like you build
<v Speaker 1>a huge tower off the top of your house and
<v Speaker 1>it's a direct microwave line and you can just point
<v Speaker 1>it at your friend's house across town who's got FiOS,
<v Speaker 1>and as long as they have direct line of sight,
<v Speaker 1>you can get wireless internet that way.
<v Speaker 6>It's no, there's no hoa's here. Listen, it's so much more.
<v Speaker 6>Don't worry exactly. HOA stands for something else. Let me
<v Speaker 6>tell you.
<v Speaker 2>Also, it's not even that I can see a house
<v Speaker 2>from my backyard that has.
<v Speaker 6>FiOS and I don't. It's just it's so fucking stupid.
<v Speaker 6>It's so fucking stupid. I understand these are these are
<v Speaker 6>champagne problems. I'm very self.
<v Speaker 4>Aware of that.
<v Speaker 6>But it's also my livelihood a bit, folks, and it's frustrating,
<v Speaker 6>and my my ISP is optimum. They're the worst ISP
<v Speaker 6>in the country. I have no doubts about it. But
<v Speaker 6>if you work for them, please help me. I'm calling
<v Speaker 6>in the favors. I'm ringing the bell. I'm calling in
<v Speaker 6>the favors the favorite. These are favorite beeps, also known
<v Speaker 6>as me being high. But I'm not high right now.
<v Speaker 4>It's too early.
<v Speaker 1>Favorite beat.
<v Speaker 6>I'm calling in every Internet favorite beep I can possibly
<v Speaker 6>call on.
<v Speaker 2>Fucking help me. Oh my god, it's like Paul going
<v Speaker 2>door to door in the streets like that.
<v Speaker 3>Can see the back of our signalside, it's just a
<v Speaker 3>frowning glasses.
<v Speaker 2>It's fine, it's fine. It looks like the Pringles logo.
<v Speaker 2>It's fine.
<v Speaker 4>It doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, it doesn't matter. We got a full blown six
<v Speaker 6>alarm Internet favor call out.
<v Speaker 2>Call for help. Please please.
<v Speaker 1>When I was a kid, you could just like give
<v Speaker 1>the cable guy fifty bucks and he would do everything
<v Speaker 1>to your.
<v Speaker 4>Cable right, that was what.
<v Speaker 1>It used to be about.
<v Speaker 2>Collusion.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, used to be like a hot fifty and you
<v Speaker 1>get the skin channel.
<v Speaker 4>But no, now it's now a lot of table guy. Uh,
<v Speaker 4>there's more going on there.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, and now it's just like whoever decided to, you know,
<v Speaker 6>like pick up the call request right at the daily
<v Speaker 6>counter was like I'll see, I'll see if I can
<v Speaker 6>solve this problem. Never makes eye contact, just looking at
<v Speaker 6>the tablet, being like, well have you reset your modem?
<v Speaker 6>And I just I just want to burst into flames
<v Speaker 6>because I just I can't.
<v Speaker 2>I can't. I we we are the worst. We are
<v Speaker 2>the worst.
<v Speaker 4>I can't, I can't we in context, speak yourself, that's great,
<v Speaker 4>I got It's cool.
<v Speaker 2>I should have it. I need I just need help. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>I've tried rebooting the modem. How dare you at home?
<v Speaker 6>Suggest that there should also be like a fork that
<v Speaker 6>you can kind of like choose to go one way
<v Speaker 6>or the other when you first engage with customer support,
<v Speaker 6>where it's like I'm under fifty, so I know stuff
<v Speaker 6>and you don't have to tell me stuff that you
<v Speaker 6>would tell a geriatric person.
<v Speaker 4>You're you're under your you're under fifty. But over twenty
<v Speaker 4>five because probably doesn't know any of this anymore either.
<v Speaker 4>They don't know how shit works at all. They're they're
<v Speaker 4>not cooked.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, but I do hate it when you like you're
<v Speaker 3>going through a customer support nightmare and you've had numerous
<v Speaker 3>calls with different people and then like, oh, one person
<v Speaker 3>you've been working with like twenty minutes has to transfer you,
<v Speaker 3>and then you have to do the whole spieling like listen,
<v Speaker 3>I've done this, I've reset this, I've done this, I
<v Speaker 3>tried this, I talked to this person bout this.
<v Speaker 4>We confirmed it's not this, Like that's a huge pain
<v Speaker 4>of the ass, Yeah, it's And.
<v Speaker 2>Then and then it's like the first thing they say
<v Speaker 2>is like, you want to.
<v Speaker 6>Spend more money first, which do you offer you with
<v Speaker 6>a chance to spend more money with your broken fucking service?
<v Speaker 2>Are you in the mood to put down more money
<v Speaker 2>because we could offer you that. I I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>That's nice of them.
<v Speaker 6>We're yeah, right, oh man, oh man, it's And it's
<v Speaker 6>all And you can't get mad at these people because
<v Speaker 6>they just work for this face.
<v Speaker 4>If you have to remind yourself. I have to remind
<v Speaker 4>myself constantly don't get mad at them. Don't get mad
<v Speaker 4>because you're very frustrated and they are your point of contact. Like,
<v Speaker 4>don't get mad at them, don't get So.
<v Speaker 3>We start those calls with like, by the way, I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna be frustrated here, you're gonna hear it my voice,
<v Speaker 3>but just know it's not directly but you.
<v Speaker 4>I feel like that goes a long way. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>No, I'm I'm I'm way more cordial when I'm talking
<v Speaker 6>to them. I'm just at I'm at the I'm at
<v Speaker 6>the ceiling here, folks. I've reached the end. I'm at
<v Speaker 6>the end of my wits. It's it's happening. It's happening
<v Speaker 6>live streaming on the Internet. It's happening right now, you're
<v Speaker 6>all witnessing it.
<v Speaker 4>I've reached the end where this too shall pass.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know it might pass. I'm still not gonna
<v Speaker 6>have internet when it passes, though.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, no promises on the Internet front.
<v Speaker 6>But yeah, I won't be able to reach out for
<v Speaker 6>help because I'll just be in a Faraday cage of
<v Speaker 6>not my own creation.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, it's funny you mentioned Faraday cage. We we mentioned
<v Speaker 2>that earlier.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, we thought it might be some hockey puck interference.
<v Speaker 4>Oh that's a great solution, guys. That's yeah, Sandlers audio listeners.
<v Speaker 2>He's playing an obo with his hands right, nailed it.
<v Speaker 4>I haven't seen this as we made him play mythology.
<v Speaker 2>What was I doing all along? Thinking with some ghost
<v Speaker 2>in the wires. It's all hockey related. A hockey related
<v Speaker 2>Internet outage.
<v Speaker 4>Of course, is the p l A maybe blocking radio.
<v Speaker 6>You don't want this, bud, you don't want any of this, man,
<v Speaker 6>you don't want this right now?
<v Speaker 1>Hi, everybody, I have the news.
<v Speaker 4>Let's see here.
<v Speaker 1>A Nintendo director is supposed to happen this week. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>it's apparently it's going to be a dedicated partner direct like.
<v Speaker 4>It's to the partners.
<v Speaker 1>It's probably gonna happen on Thursday. That's what the rumors
<v Speaker 1>are saying. People are a little antsy about this because
<v Speaker 1>everyone's wondering what Nintendo's plans are to fill out the
<v Speaker 1>rest of its annual schedule with first party games. Probably
<v Speaker 1>not going to get that information here, Although I do
<v Speaker 1>think this is probably an important director for Nintendo because
<v Speaker 1>now is the chance for them to kind of make
<v Speaker 1>it clear what third party support is going to look
<v Speaker 1>like on the switch to developers. Publishers have all the
<v Speaker 1>information about what kind of system this is and what
<v Speaker 1>kind of people are buying it, so let's see if
<v Speaker 1>they decide to show up. What are your guys' expectations
<v Speaker 1>on that front, Like you think it's like this is
<v Speaker 1>a full third party supported system or kind of somewhere between.
<v Speaker 4>This and the WEU better than that. I mean, if
<v Speaker 4>there are some things that are seem pretty obvious to
<v Speaker 4>show up here, there's a couple of fronts offt things,
<v Speaker 4>dust bluds. I still want to see more of that.
<v Speaker 4>I want to be sold on it a bit more
<v Speaker 4>as somebody who finds the PvP elements of those games
<v Speaker 4>the least interesting part. I hope there's more to it
<v Speaker 4>than that. I still want to see like fun bosses
<v Speaker 4>and a world to explore and things like that. And
<v Speaker 4>you know, there's the the elden Ring port that was
<v Speaker 4>supposed to come out last year and everyone said look terrible.
<v Speaker 4>I would like to see signs of life of that
<v Speaker 4>maybe come back around. A few really big third party
<v Speaker 4>games from recent years that maybe could show up on
<v Speaker 4>the system now, like your Clare Obscure Exposion thirty three
<v Speaker 4>metaphor Fantasio, some of the some of the recent sound hills,
<v Speaker 4>maybe even more Resident Evils things like that.
<v Speaker 3>I saw stuff was coming out about Resident Evil today
<v Speaker 3>on Switch to Anyone, see if it's positive, Like is
<v Speaker 3>it run well like Requiem on.
<v Speaker 4>No, I didn't see any of this yet. There's the
<v Speaker 4>previous for that version.
<v Speaker 1>I haven't seen any of the new like sort of
<v Speaker 1>hands on impressions. But look for a while there people
<v Speaker 1>had tried it on there and said it was running
<v Speaker 1>surprisingly well, like it's going to be the least version
<v Speaker 1>of that game, and I think most people are saying
<v Speaker 1>it's perfectly scele if it's your especially if it's your
<v Speaker 1>only way to play or your preferred way to play.
<v Speaker 1>Uh yeah, I think that I'll be curious to see
<v Speaker 1>if EA does anything more than like Madden and FIFA.
<v Speaker 1>I think if I think they're a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>a bell weather for me, if they have Jedi Survivor
<v Speaker 1>like that, that'll be interesting.
<v Speaker 4>It almost would be weird to me if not, because again,
<v Speaker 4>they downpoarded that game to PS four at the time, like,
<v Speaker 4>well they're doing that to get ready for the switch
<v Speaker 4>to I don't know why else you're doing that. Of course,
<v Speaker 4>there's a reason a lot of people have PS fours still,
<v Speaker 4>so sure, but you know, if you do that work,
<v Speaker 4>why not see it through put on more things? But yeah,
<v Speaker 4>you know, I certainly answered that first question, Jep. I
<v Speaker 4>expect to see a good mouth third party support here, especially,
<v Speaker 4>you know, it seems like some of the stuff has
<v Speaker 4>been doing well, like Fantasy seven remake on Switch to
<v Speaker 4>It seems like that's being received really well and maybe
<v Speaker 4>also selling really well. And it's like, well, okay, if
<v Speaker 4>that one's doing well, then why can't a lot of
<v Speaker 4>these other things find success on Switch Too.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I wouldn't even be surprised if it's like a
<v Speaker 1>spin from the Boulder Skates Studio shows up and it's like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>since the last time we talked and said this isn't
<v Speaker 1>coming to Switch Too, We've had the conversations with Asbro
<v Speaker 1>and whoever the hell else at Wizards of the Coast,
<v Speaker 1>and we got to figure it out and we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>get the game on the switch to just hang tight.
<v Speaker 1>That sort of thing could happen here, but I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>If it doesn't, then that game is probably not gonna
<v Speaker 1>happen anytime soon.
<v Speaker 4>On the switch too.
<v Speaker 1>All right, speaking of switch to, Nintendo comments on that
<v Speaker 1>whole thing that's going on with dispatch and censorship on
<v Speaker 1>the switch to. The game came out and if you
<v Speaker 1>saw me stream it or saw anyone streaming it, you
<v Speaker 1>probably saw the censored version, which is an option for
<v Speaker 1>this game on all platforms on switch to, though it
<v Speaker 1>is the only option. You cannot see the wieners and
<v Speaker 1>the breasts and the other private parts or water the
<v Speaker 1>middle fingers. Yeah, all the the wieners are are.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>The Toxicity guy they took out his penis, they.
<v Speaker 1>Didn't take out they covered it with giant black bars.
<v Speaker 1>So it's like, get, we're aware of this size exactly. No,
<v Speaker 1>it's it's just these big blocks. Now, there's some humor
<v Speaker 1>to that, especially as an option. When this was happening,
<v Speaker 1>there was some back and forth. A lot of people
<v Speaker 1>are like, hey, Nintendo, you allow penises and games like
<v Speaker 1>Cyberpunk and that's on switch switch to, So what's the
<v Speaker 1>difference here, Why are you treating this game differently? And
<v Speaker 1>it turned out that it's not Nintendo treating it differently.
<v Speaker 1>Cyberpunk had multiple skews and it was it got one
<v Speaker 1>rating for one of the skews in Japan and a
<v Speaker 1>different rating for different skews in the rest of the
<v Speaker 1>world because the Japanese rating board, if you get that
<v Speaker 1>Sarah z it's basically a sales death sentence in Japan. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>Sarah zuh. And it's something that is something you could
<v Speaker 1>do if you are a studio that has the resources
<v Speaker 1>to make multiple versions of your game, something that ad
<v Speaker 1>Hoc did not do. But both companies kind of were like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>we're just it's mostly on the other guy to figure
<v Speaker 1>this out, and it sounds like there could be some
<v Speaker 1>improvement here where they're going to have an update that
<v Speaker 1>gets rid of some of the censorship. I don't think
<v Speaker 1>that's going to be what people want, though A lot
<v Speaker 1>of people are getting this game, seeing this and getting
<v Speaker 1>a refund, so I think it's still a question about, like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>Ken ad Hoc figure out this thing with the multiple skws.
<v Speaker 1>Can Nintendo step up and make that easier. I think
<v Speaker 1>that's what a lot of people are asking for at
<v Speaker 1>this point, and I think that's probably fair.
<v Speaker 2>Some folks are pointing out in Chad Danny Beki. Usually
<v Speaker 2>in Japan you just download a patch for the sarah
<v Speaker 2>z content after the fact. I don't know if that's
<v Speaker 2>a path that ad hoc can pursue.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's definitely something I've seen a lot of games
<v Speaker 4>talk about doing.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I don't know. I think that this is something
<v Speaker 1>where studio wanted to get it out on switch to
<v Speaker 1>and there's a pathway to do that. But if you
<v Speaker 1>kind of take the path of least resistance, you end
<v Speaker 1>up in a situation like this where there's not a
<v Speaker 1>lot of leeway to treat the game different based on
<v Speaker 1>region because there's one copy for all regions. And that
<v Speaker 1>caused some headaches, all right. Numerous video game company share
<v Speaker 1>prices dropped over the weekend because of Google's Project Genie
<v Speaker 1>AI rollout.
<v Speaker 4>Did you guys see this project Genie stuffy?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it is a tool in.
<v Speaker 4>A real quick man. People with hell of money like that,
<v Speaker 4>dumb as fuck.
<v Speaker 1>Huh, it's not a meritocracy. Just here's the evidence for you, everybody.
<v Speaker 1>Google's Project Genie AI is the thing where you put
<v Speaker 1>in a prompt or you put in some pictures and
<v Speaker 1>you're like, hey, make me a video game based on this,
<v Speaker 1>and they're like, they basically can make something that looks
<v Speaker 1>like right of the wild if you squint.
<v Speaker 4>Or Super Mario sixty four if you are.
<v Speaker 1>Stupid, and it's it's like, okay, yeah, I kind of
<v Speaker 1>I see it, but like, obviously none of the fun
<v Speaker 1>is there people play it. I'm like, no, yeah, none
<v Speaker 1>of the fun is there whatsoever.
<v Speaker 4>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe this is a problem for video game companies at
<v Speaker 1>some point. Maybe I can tell you who it's not
<v Speaker 1>going to be a problem for right now or anytime soon.
<v Speaker 1>Is Take two, Who's one of the companies that got
<v Speaker 1>banged real hard here in terms of their stock price,
<v Speaker 1>it dropped something like ten percent based on this. The
<v Speaker 1>company that's going to release likely Grand Theft Auto six
<v Speaker 1>later this year is not going to take any damage
<v Speaker 1>because someone can make something that's going to be several
<v Speaker 1>magnitudes of order worse than the worst Ubisoft slop that
<v Speaker 1>people already can't stand. So this was a wild thing
<v Speaker 1>to see. But it's just investors not knowing what they're
<v Speaker 1>looking at and having no idea what it means to
<v Speaker 1>have their money invested in any of this stuff.
<v Speaker 4>It's not just that there's no fun there. I mean
<v Speaker 4>there's almost nothing except moving in a three D space poorly.
<v Speaker 4>There's no interacting with a there's no level designed, there's
<v Speaker 4>no mechanics, there's nothing.
<v Speaker 1>Even if it did work though, right, like, even if
<v Speaker 1>it worked to create something, it's like, make me something
<v Speaker 1>like Super Mario sixty four, and it's like, okay, but
<v Speaker 1>it's going to be like sort of I think the
<v Speaker 1>average of Mario sixty four always and it's not going
<v Speaker 1>to have fun new novel ideas. And we already get
<v Speaker 1>a ton of slop all the time from like you
<v Speaker 1>can go on all these platforms and find stuff that's
<v Speaker 1>trying to just be like Mario sixty four, but and
<v Speaker 1>people don't show up for that stuff. So I don't
<v Speaker 1>I just don't think that this is going to have
<v Speaker 1>that effect on the big companies that spend millions of dollars.
<v Speaker 4>To make their games. They're always going to be able
<v Speaker 4>to make their games stand apart just through sheer force of.
<v Speaker 1>Will, at least for the next couple of years. Maybe
<v Speaker 1>there's a time where you just say make me Grand
<v Speaker 1>Theft Auto seven and something happens, But I just still
<v Speaker 1>think people are not going to want that compared to
<v Speaker 1>the one that people put a lot of effort into.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Sorry, just see those stock prices plummet, and
<v Speaker 2>it's almost like a straight downfall for for some of
<v Speaker 2>these companies. Besides Take two just really uh is disheartening
<v Speaker 2>to see that some people that are calling the shots
<v Speaker 2>or have power in affecting a studio are that.
<v Speaker 4>Fucking dumb.
<v Speaker 1>It's I mean just if you like looked, if they
<v Speaker 1>turned their head, you would be able to see right
<v Speaker 1>through because there's just no brains.
<v Speaker 2>The think video games that they make for TA TV
<v Speaker 2>shows look better and probably put yeah, well those are
<v Speaker 2>just videos.
<v Speaker 6>Those are just like yeah, but but yes, I also
<v Speaker 6>don't think you should put a lot of like I
<v Speaker 6>don't know, just put a lot on like the machinations
<v Speaker 6>of like what a stock price does?
<v Speaker 1>That does that doesn't know exactly. This is saying exactly
<v Speaker 1>that exactly. People, the people that move the money and
<v Speaker 1>move the market have no idea what's going on. They
<v Speaker 1>don't know anything. So yeah, I mean it matters like
<v Speaker 1>you should go take money from these people. They just
<v Speaker 1>gave you a discount to go buy Take two stock.
<v Speaker 1>Now get into financial advice. But when that game comes
<v Speaker 1>out Grand Theft Auto six, there's gonna be headlines everywhere
<v Speaker 1>about how it's made several like multiple billions of dollars
<v Speaker 1>in a day, and that that stock price they're going
<v Speaker 1>to see that like, oh that's a good thing, and
<v Speaker 1>the stock price is going to shoot back up and
<v Speaker 1>they will have lost all that money because being panicked.
<v Speaker 1>Right now, so you've been an opportunity to take advantage
<v Speaker 1>of them. That's all that really is about.
<v Speaker 6>And the bigger like problem is that there just is
<v Speaker 6>never any like even zooming out from all this. There's
<v Speaker 6>just never any consequences for any of this sort of stuff,
<v Speaker 6>right like, regardless of the sort of like irresponsible investment
<v Speaker 6>in all of these things, Like, no one is ever
<v Speaker 6>going to be held accountable for the reckless behavior.
<v Speaker 2>Of all this stuff in any.
<v Speaker 6>In all likelihood, they will be bailed out for their mouthfeasons,
<v Speaker 6>right So, like it's just that's the problem, right And
<v Speaker 6>this is how it trickles down and manifests into our
<v Speaker 6>corner of entertainment.
<v Speaker 1>It sucks, it sucks, but fuck them if anyone can
<v Speaker 1>make them pay, though, it's gonna be. Hey, why why
<v Speaker 1>do these games that you keep you saying make it
<v Speaker 1>like a Nintendo game? Why is it keep coming on
<v Speaker 1>looking at like our games we're gonna.
<v Speaker 2>Sue you and kill you.
<v Speaker 4>Could make that happen. Yeah, yeah, please tend to go
<v Speaker 4>after this instead of fan dmakes of okeringa of time.
<v Speaker 4>Both are still gonna happen. Yeah, that's the reality. I
<v Speaker 4>have enough lawyers to go around.
<v Speaker 6>I also think at this point I've talked to enough
<v Speaker 6>people that anecdotally I could say that no one understands
<v Speaker 6>anything right. And I do think the branding that AI
<v Speaker 6>has benefited from is this lack of education and the
<v Speaker 6>lack of understanding of what all this stuff actually is.
<v Speaker 6>And when you meet someone like this in the real
<v Speaker 6>world and they're just like, Wow, AI is going to like,
<v Speaker 6>you know, feed my next child or whatever it is
<v Speaker 6>and solve all the problems. And it's like it's that
<v Speaker 6>sort of like insanity that that that the sort of
<v Speaker 6>like rosed colored lenses that everyone views this entire industry
<v Speaker 6>industry through is to our detriment and that you know,
<v Speaker 6>and it's just that speculative sort of like how can I,
<v Speaker 6>you know, quickly turn this around into a sort of
<v Speaker 6>you know, a beneficial investment is the reason why we
<v Speaker 6>have all these issues. So I don't, you know, I
<v Speaker 6>just I don't trust anyone who can't explain what it
<v Speaker 6>is that they are funding to me, right, Oh.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, and that is what's happened most investors. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>This is also a fun example of like the you know,
<v Speaker 1>capitalists will sell you the rope used to hang them with. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>all these companies selling, like selling to investors, not really
<v Speaker 1>selling to us, but selling to investors that they're going
<v Speaker 1>to make the future built on AI. And they did that,
<v Speaker 1>and then the second Ai was like, and now we
<v Speaker 1>don't need those publishers anymore.
<v Speaker 2>Investors are like, yay, let's go.
<v Speaker 1>Over there and spend all our money over there instead
<v Speaker 1>of at Take two. And Take two's got to be
<v Speaker 1>looking around being like, oh, no, going to do to us.
<v Speaker 4>Remember when a Pokemon Go was a big immediate hit,
<v Speaker 4>Nintendo's stock price shot up and Nintendo had to be like, hey,
<v Speaker 4>that's not.
<v Speaker 1>Us, that's the Pokemon company.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Even the most charitable, even those charitable like uh, you know,
<v Speaker 2>understanding of like to what end? Right with all this stuff?
<v Speaker 4>Right? To what end?
<v Speaker 6>Putting every person who touches a creative thing out of business,
<v Speaker 6>out of work, and then they don't have money to
<v Speaker 6>spend on this thing that you've made so like, don't
<v Speaker 6>give me this fucking Oh it's gonna it's the second Coming.
<v Speaker 6>It's gonna Unless there's some sort of like UBI or something.
<v Speaker 6>You need to be able to have people making money
<v Speaker 6>to buy the thing that you are making automatedly, right, So, like,
<v Speaker 6>what what's the fucking endgame?
<v Speaker 4>Boys? What are we doing?
<v Speaker 2>The game is.
<v Speaker 4>Darren aaron Ovsky's AI generated American Revolution series?
<v Speaker 2>Is that there is this the wrestler guy for a
<v Speaker 2>dream guy.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, remember when you respected him. We'll forget about that.
<v Speaker 4>Here's this.
<v Speaker 2>I mean maybe he's just been like in a cave
<v Speaker 2>for thirty years.
<v Speaker 3>Iealing kind of sucked too, so he's not really on
<v Speaker 3>a great run right now.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he's always been kind of up and down.
<v Speaker 4>He's weird. Uh Yeah. The Whale the Fountain Wrestler was
<v Speaker 4>very good. I like, just like his movies. Noah.
<v Speaker 1>Still I've still not watched Noah. I kind of want
<v Speaker 1>to watch that. He's got those Noah's Ark the movie.
<v Speaker 1>But he did that, Yeah, he didn't know what with
<v Speaker 1>with what's his name, Russell Crowe?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, what he did the thing at the Sphere. I
<v Speaker 3>went to the Sphere in Vegas and watched his like
<v Speaker 3>world nature documentary thing.
<v Speaker 4>I bet he loves the sphere.
<v Speaker 2>Oh his first thing was pie, right, yeah, the first one.
<v Speaker 4>But yeah, I did not like caught stealing at all.
<v Speaker 4>It sucked. Yeah I didn't realize that was even him. Okay, hey,
<v Speaker 4>but grub.
<v Speaker 2>At least we can rest assured that Google's AI is
<v Speaker 2>not capable of replicating the brilliance of any of the
<v Speaker 2>Keemco games.
<v Speaker 1>No, of course, yes, that's Kim is safe.
<v Speaker 4>That one. I was so worried you're gonna do a
<v Speaker 4>fucking bundle of nerves joke there that's still yet to come. Like, No, no,
<v Speaker 4>that's that's Backler today with the Internet situation. He shakes
<v Speaker 4>when these talk and to it support.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's see here. Subsidian isn't making Outer Worlds three,
<v Speaker 1>but will work on more games in the Avowed universe
<v Speaker 1>despite quote disappointing sales. Ubcity and Entertainment will not make
<v Speaker 1>the Outer Worlds three, but plans to develop more games
<v Speaker 1>in the Avowed universe, despite both the Outer Worlds two
<v Speaker 1>and Avowed reportedly underperforming financially. Subsidian head Fergus Required implied
<v Speaker 1>that Grounded Too was a success, but the other two
<v Speaker 1>games had disappointing results, leading the studio to focus on
<v Speaker 1>shorter development cycles three to four years instead of six plus.
<v Speaker 1>Websidian is working on content for the Outer Worlds two
<v Speaker 1>and Grounded two. A sequel to Outer Worlds two is
<v Speaker 1>not planned. Avowed is set to be released on PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>five five on February seventeenth, alongside anniversary updates for all platforms.
<v Speaker 1>Studio design director Josh Sawyer also noted that releasing three
<v Speaker 1>games in one year was not intentional and stretched.
<v Speaker 4>The studio's resource hands.
<v Speaker 1>Gusse I thought all those games were pretty good from
<v Speaker 1>them last year, and I really like the Outer Worlds too.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like Outer Worlds two is gonna be one
<v Speaker 1>of those games that, like, maybe even like six months
<v Speaker 1>from now, you're going to hear people going back to
<v Speaker 1>it and be like, oh, why did we ignore this game.
<v Speaker 1>It's way better than we realized. Most people just didn't
<v Speaker 1>play it.
<v Speaker 4>I liked a Vowed in Outer Worlds too. I wish
<v Speaker 4>I played had time to play more of them. I
<v Speaker 4>was pretty shocked at the indifference that the community that
<v Speaker 4>like loves the Fallout games and loves older scrolls showed
<v Speaker 4>toward these I'm like, you guys always go on about
<v Speaker 4>how New Vegas is the best one. These guys kind
<v Speaker 4>of made a new one of these, and everyone's like
<v Speaker 4>it's not as good.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, is it not really?
<v Speaker 4>And maybe there's something I'm not seeing there be like, oh,
<v Speaker 4>the writing's not as good. This seems pretty similar to
<v Speaker 4>the Fallout writing to me. I don't know if it's
<v Speaker 4>rose colored glasses looking at the pass or there's something
<v Speaker 4>there I'm just not quite seeing. But yeah, you know,
<v Speaker 4>maybe it's just you. You need that Fallout in this
<v Speaker 4>for people. There's something about that world specifically, and Outer
<v Speaker 4>Scrolls as well. I'm not sure, but yeah, like you know,
<v Speaker 4>especially I get it. Yeah. Maybe the RPG stuff wasn't
<v Speaker 4>quite as deep, but it made up for it in
<v Speaker 4>other ways. The combat was much better. I think the
<v Speaker 4>art design was much better. Characters even I think are
<v Speaker 4>weren't just any of your typical Elder Scrolls character.
<v Speaker 1>And I thought the RPG stuff was pretty good, like
<v Speaker 1>getting the flaw those character flaws and stuff like that
<v Speaker 1>is always fun. And then you have this very specialized,
<v Speaker 1>weird character and that shows up in the dialogue options
<v Speaker 1>pretty frequently, to the point where I felt like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>I'm think I'm getting a pretty unique experience here. I'm
<v Speaker 1>playing my version of Outer Worlds too, and yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>mean right, I feel like I'm missing something Mike with
<v Speaker 1>the people that weren't vibing with it too hard. But
<v Speaker 1>there's no accounting for everyone's personal taste on some of
<v Speaker 1>that stuff. I do think though, this game is due
<v Speaker 1>for a reckoning that's gonna happen pretty soon and people
<v Speaker 1>will be like, it is better than its reputation, but
<v Speaker 1>we'll see Obsidian though. It feels like they probably like
<v Speaker 1>if this is what happened here, this is the time
<v Speaker 1>where it's like, hey, all that talk about we need
<v Speaker 1>someone working on Fallout, working on Fallout, maybe they do
<v Speaker 1>just go back to work on Fallout now, if they
<v Speaker 1>haven't already started.
<v Speaker 2>It's the most surprising thing with how much the Amazon
<v Speaker 2>show has taken off, and I mean the the most
<v Speaker 2>they've done with the games is kind of like gosh,
<v Speaker 2>which which Fallout game is like the Survival one seventy
<v Speaker 2>seventy seventy six. The most they've done is just kind
<v Speaker 2>of like repackaged that and kind of show that they
<v Speaker 2>put the.
<v Speaker 1>Google in that game, right, So, like they are doing
<v Speaker 1>stuff like that. One's like that Universus Elder Scrolls Online
<v Speaker 1>where it just continues off to the side and there's
<v Speaker 1>actually quite a few people enjoying it, but it's not
<v Speaker 1>accomplishing like what that serious that franchise that IP could
<v Speaker 1>accomplish if it had a new Fallout game or relatively
<v Speaker 1>recent Fallout game. Well out, well Out four does very
<v Speaker 1>well every time that like that second season came out
<v Speaker 1>Fall of four to very well again, so they're capturing
<v Speaker 1>some of that excitement, but they obviously want to make
<v Speaker 1>a new game, and Elder Scroll six is gonna to
<v Speaker 1>take a very long time.
<v Speaker 4>So yeah, City should just get on that. I know.
<v Speaker 4>The only thing that I guess stop that is for
<v Speaker 4>some reason Bethesda still has enough like actual legal ability
<v Speaker 4>or just clouts to be like no, you uh, you
<v Speaker 4>can't do that, and I side of City and I'm
<v Speaker 4>you know, Bethesda is like gonna be like, no, you
<v Speaker 4>can't let up City make that. We want to make that.
<v Speaker 4>We're still going to do that. You can't do that
<v Speaker 4>to us because of X y Z and the purchase
<v Speaker 4>contract agreement. I don't know, but it's a certain point
<v Speaker 4>it is shocking to me that you don't just have
<v Speaker 4>a city and make Fallout now while yeah, I mean, gosh,
<v Speaker 4>they're still working on freaking Starfield at Bethesda right now,
<v Speaker 4>technically right like that, like that that they're developing. That's though,
<v Speaker 4>it's an expansion coming up in updates. Yeah, our School
<v Speaker 4>six gonna take forever? Is there even, Like I guess
<v Speaker 4>there's probably some team there that is in a room
<v Speaker 4>thinking about Fallout five, but that is that's again coming
<v Speaker 4>out in the thirties, the thirties. Don't say that.
<v Speaker 6>Stop stop, you're right, yeah, all right, I guess I'll
<v Speaker 6>shut up. It's never told me that before. I guess
<v Speaker 6>I just you scared the group. You scared the group.
<v Speaker 6>We'd never heard of a number like that.
<v Speaker 4>You're just scared.
<v Speaker 2>We weren't ready for it. It's not you, Mikey, it's the.
<v Speaker 4>One wants time is terrifying.
<v Speaker 2>Walton Goggins. If there's ever been any actor alive that
<v Speaker 2>man is made to be in a video game hamming
<v Speaker 2>it up? Yeah, I mean.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I want to see like a PS two Walton Goggins,
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, I just feel like he.
<v Speaker 4>Would look good on PS two.
<v Speaker 1>He's been acting a long time is there a possibility
<v Speaker 1>he's in a PS two game?
<v Speaker 3>He has he been like the I saw in the
<v Speaker 3>Boorn movies fairly recently?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah? Game was there? Yeah, okay, yeah, three sixty a little.
<v Speaker 2>Because I was gonna I was gonna say, has he
<v Speaker 2>been in a bond? I could see him being in
<v Speaker 2>a bond, but maybe I was thinking of the two.
<v Speaker 4>It was all like original games, something based off of
<v Speaker 4>any of the movies. Then at that point, all right,
<v Speaker 4>let's see here. Sorry I got distracted.
<v Speaker 1>Okay. Three is going to be on PS five only
<v Speaker 1>for consoles here when it launches, but it sounds like
<v Speaker 1>it's going to be on other devices as soon as August. This,
<v Speaker 1>according to the reporting, suggested that the game could appear
<v Speaker 1>on systems like Xbox Series X and S, but also
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch to after August sixth.
<v Speaker 4>The game is PlayStation. It's also on PC though, as
<v Speaker 4>it's launching. I I'm in the mood for this. I'm hopeful.
<v Speaker 4>I'm really hopeful this game is going to hit.
<v Speaker 1>But you know, I guess I didn't even realize it's
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation publishing this game. Is that why it's exclusive at
<v Speaker 1>least for a little bit. Maybe they're not publishing there,
<v Speaker 1>but they definitely were like co co marketing the game.
<v Speaker 1>I didn't really realize the relationship was so close so
<v Speaker 1>that it wasn't even launching on Xbox when it came
<v Speaker 1>out out. I didn't like to put that two two
<v Speaker 1>and two together with this series. Are you guys ready
<v Speaker 1>to show up for Neo three or or what is
<v Speaker 1>it something?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, wait, here's here's the thing before. I know everyone
<v Speaker 2>actually has a history with Neo, but my one association
<v Speaker 2>with the Neo franchise is I think I read somewhere
<v Speaker 2>that that team also helped make Strangers Stranger of Paradise,
<v Speaker 2>So I can't get that out of my head. So
<v Speaker 2>I hope there's a Fedora in this game.
<v Speaker 3>I've never touched it or seen it, and I'm gonna
<v Speaker 3>start with three now that I'm second real brained. Uh,
<v Speaker 3>So we might uh a little video and put it
<v Speaker 3>up this with, you know, maybe maybe bring in a bit.
<v Speaker 4>Of a ringer to be with us on that. I'm
<v Speaker 4>not a bad idea, No, Jan, it's not you. I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 4>I know. I know it's tough to answer your question, Greb.
<v Speaker 4>There is actually a Shield video game for PS two
<v Speaker 4>that has Walter Gogginsay, ah, just that guy there you
<v Speaker 4>go before.
<v Speaker 2>Not the most likable character.
<v Speaker 4>And I tell you somebody never played any the Neils again. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I also played Stranger of Para and that's my point
<v Speaker 4>of comparison. But you know there's something that's kind of
<v Speaker 4>like that, but more melee combaty focus Deana Strader parad
<v Speaker 4>I said to remember mostly just using the ultimates spell
<v Speaker 4>if I can, and that's how I beat everything, right,
<v Speaker 4>So it's I think a bit more honest. I suppose
<v Speaker 4>you know, give me some Perry slap, give me some
<v Speaker 4>Dodge slap. I'll be a happy boy.
<v Speaker 6>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Sony is Paton Walton.
<v Speaker 4>Sorry, I know it's not Walter. I know, I know
<v Speaker 4>ye better than that. Everyone. I'm sorry. We appreciate your apology,
<v Speaker 4>he said Walter Golgoggins.
<v Speaker 2>I know, Walter Goggins, Yeah totally.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Sony has a path in for a touch screen PlayStation controller.
<v Speaker 1>They began filing this way back in February twenty twenty three,
<v Speaker 1>but it just they just the we're able to Uh.
<v Speaker 1>It was awarded to them recently. According to the diagram,
<v Speaker 1>it's a controller with a flat surface for a screen.
<v Speaker 1>And then you can customize like where the buttons go,
<v Speaker 1>what they're labeled, all kinds of stuff. I guess you
<v Speaker 1>can have one big wind button or something like that. This,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, do you guys think we ever see
<v Speaker 1>this thing? This is like it's certainly not the dual
<v Speaker 1>sense too write.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe for like accessibility options, right, Like that's the first
<v Speaker 2>thing that pops up in my head because I don't
<v Speaker 2>think I would use this myself.
<v Speaker 4>But I don't know, maybe you want to.
<v Speaker 2>Map everything to like one side versus like everything being equal, right,
<v Speaker 2>this is not like not what the kids are asking
<v Speaker 2>for right.
<v Speaker 1>Back of the are like if they wanted to use
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. I'm just like, are gonna like suddenly
<v Speaker 1>play more video games because there's a touchscreen controller. It's like,
<v Speaker 1>even if they're used to a touch screen on phone,
<v Speaker 1>they'll just play on the phone. That's not the thing
<v Speaker 1>that's stopping them from getting on console.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I'm this makes me a little a little nervous.
<v Speaker 6>If it's for accessibility, that's great. People should have the option.
<v Speaker 1>To you know, they have not announced it whatsoever, so
<v Speaker 1>right now, it's just a sure I don't believe ever
<v Speaker 1>since I got burned by not getting the McDonald's ads
<v Speaker 1>or I have to yell McDonald's Dan, that's probably exactly what.
<v Speaker 4>This is just a patent and it will never be
<v Speaker 4>true that.
<v Speaker 6>Yes, I also don't think like, uh, yeah, I guess
<v Speaker 6>there is a world where like this is cheaper to
<v Speaker 6>manufacture than.
<v Speaker 2>You know, like a physical analog controller. But yeah, I did.
<v Speaker 2>It frightens me that like this could be a way
<v Speaker 2>where like they're like, oh, we're just switching to touchscreen
<v Speaker 2>controllers now, folks.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, no one wants that. Yeah, that's the thing.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>So I mean, but the tolerance for people to play
<v Speaker 6>with touch controls only, I think, as you know obviously
<v Speaker 6>has grown substantially. So that's I guess where my in
<v Speaker 6>trepidation is coming from.
<v Speaker 4>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>There is a Division Definitive edition appearing on Xbox Store.
<v Speaker 1>So this is not a remaster collection of like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>we're going to take the first Division and like really
<v Speaker 1>rework it. Instead, it's just kind of a collection of
<v Speaker 1>all the content in one package. So that's kind of
<v Speaker 1>just an update on that story where people are thinking like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>the Division's going to get a big update before they
<v Speaker 1>go back to Division III. No, that's not really the
<v Speaker 1>case there. Instead it's just a collection. And then finally,
<v Speaker 1>Switch is officially Nintendo's best selling console ever, overtaking DS.
<v Speaker 1>The Switch officially became Nintendo's best selling console ever, surpassing
<v Speaker 1>the DS with one hundred and fifty five point three
<v Speaker 1>seven million units sold as of December thirty first, it
<v Speaker 1>is now second overall to the PlayStation two, which, if
<v Speaker 1>you'll recall, it wasn't that at one hundred and fifty
<v Speaker 1>five million as well, or one hundred and fifty six
<v Speaker 1>million it was. And then as the Switch got closer
<v Speaker 1>and Nintendo or Sony was like, we found five more
<v Speaker 1>million that we sold, it's actually one hundred and sixty million.
<v Speaker 1>That happened in like the last year. So now the
<v Speaker 1>Switch will have to get past one hundred and sixty
<v Speaker 1>million if it's going to be the best selling console
<v Speaker 1>of all time. I I don't know, like if it
<v Speaker 1>sells another five million to do that, But you know,
<v Speaker 1>selling more than the DS is kind of crazy, all
<v Speaker 1>things considered, because the DS was still in a time
<v Speaker 1>when there wasn't like iPhones and tablets to give to kids,
<v Speaker 1>so everyone was getting these things, and then the world
<v Speaker 1>sort of changed pretty quickly after that, where it's like
<v Speaker 1>you don't really need a handheld for your kids unless
<v Speaker 1>they're asking for it. And now the switch, you know,
<v Speaker 1>by finding the handheld in the home console, was able
<v Speaker 1>to recreate that a little bit.
<v Speaker 4>Yes too, we're usually not super expensive.
<v Speaker 2>Yep.
<v Speaker 4>Is does that include the three DS or is just
<v Speaker 4>the original?
<v Speaker 3>Which I was really surprised because I feel like I
<v Speaker 3>prefer the three DS to the d s's library. I
<v Speaker 3>love both, but I think what you said about like
<v Speaker 3>smartphones weren't a thing during most of the that completely.
<v Speaker 1>Changed things to the three DS, which still what the
<v Speaker 1>DS did, it was still huge, it was still three
<v Speaker 1>DS was still very successful.
<v Speaker 4>I think it's about the library. Yeah, but it's like
<v Speaker 4>eighty million units or something like that. Yeah, already, I
<v Speaker 4>don't know where I would fall on that. Sorry, And
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, yeah, we need to do a d S
<v Speaker 4>three DS debate at some point here.
<v Speaker 1>We can build like one of those those spreadsheet things
<v Speaker 1>that someone makes for us, be Joicy did it where
<v Speaker 1>it's like we select which game.
<v Speaker 3>The one that proved that N sixty four is better
<v Speaker 3>than the Superintendo? Right, that's right, Dan, that's good science.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, Uh, that's just good clean science.
<v Speaker 2>How many of those d s's that are are in
<v Speaker 2>that gigantic total? Do you think we're bought by the
<v Speaker 2>Seattle Mariners so you could order stuff off of them?
<v Speaker 4>Four million of them?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>Them and the Louver were big.
<v Speaker 1>All right, that does it for the headlines.
<v Speaker 4>Jam. The show's back over.
<v Speaker 2>To you, folks. We're gonna take a quick bricky break
<v Speaker 2>and we will be back with emails and YouTube superchants.
<v Speaker 2>If we got honey, we'll see you right after the
<v Speaker 2>we got them, I got.
<v Speaker 4>Give me more.
<v Speaker 2>Pomcast giant bomb dot com is email. Just send all
<v Speaker 2>of your emails to You can write in about any
<v Speaker 2>and everything and we'll try try and read it on
<v Speaker 2>the show if we have enough time. Hey, special shouts
<v Speaker 2>out to all y'all for all the emails. We've actually
<v Speaker 2>foreshoot have been getting a bunch of emails that is
<v Speaker 2>hard to narrow it down to include them onto the show.
<v Speaker 2>So thank you Ray for writing in about any and
<v Speaker 2>everything and avoiding awkward social interactions by emailing us at
<v Speaker 2>BombCast at giant bomb dot com. Grub Dan a lot
<v Speaker 2>of congrats and hell yeahs for the amazing charity stream
<v Speaker 2>from last Friday congression.
<v Speaker 4>Once again, really proud, proud of this community absolutely, yes.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, Like I know that there's some crossover between ours
<v Speaker 2>and like the Menmax community, but like, just it's fucking
<v Speaker 2>great to see both communities collectively individually show up and
<v Speaker 2>show out.
<v Speaker 3>And shout out to Men Max and their community. Like
<v Speaker 3>if you like giant bomb stuff, you know they are.
<v Speaker 3>I would say, check them out. They are scrappy, independent,
<v Speaker 3>big personalities and know their shit like Men Max, like Hanson.
<v Speaker 3>I can't say enough how good that guy is at
<v Speaker 3>what he does.
<v Speaker 4>They're also just as weird as we are. Just give
<v Speaker 4>them a naw time might be weirder in some aspects. Yes, yeah, I.
<v Speaker 2>Also enjoy how there is continuity amongst all the giant
<v Speaker 2>bomb shows in our email inbox because we have an
<v Speaker 2>update from someone that cut a vasectomy that called in
<v Speaker 2>from the dump Truck.
<v Speaker 4>Oh cool.
<v Speaker 2>Hey dudes, thanks for all the well wishes on the
<v Speaker 2>dumb truck regarding my vasectomy since you all were discussing it.
<v Speaker 2>I got no scalpel version. The no scalpel version. They
<v Speaker 2>numbed me with some spray and I didn't feel a thing.
<v Speaker 2>Although I have definitely been sore after and can't lift
<v Speaker 2>more than ten pounds.
<v Speaker 4>For a week.
<v Speaker 2>I also got some special visectomy underwear with a pouch
<v Speaker 2>that came with these very amusing ice packs. I figured
<v Speaker 2>you'd get a kick out of I attached the picture.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, document, Greg, what am I looking at?
<v Speaker 3>What is?
<v Speaker 4>What is? Well? Thank you Manati Nutsuckles. You got me thinking.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe you guys can sell ice packs yourselves, perhaps one
<v Speaker 2>shaped with the bomb logo or maybe one with y'all's faces.
<v Speaker 2>That way, Dan can cure as many headaches as he
<v Speaker 2>causes a huge If you do make him get a
<v Speaker 2>visectomy for a goal for the next bomb with on,
<v Speaker 2>you better believe I'll be donating. Just let him know
<v Speaker 2>it won't hurt unless he sees the one after.
<v Speaker 6>I stand behind this uh stretch goal ice pad.
<v Speaker 3>I have like like twenty different ice packs and a
<v Speaker 3>freezer upstairs for various causes. I frequently sleep with them
<v Speaker 3>on my face or on my head. I got any
<v Speaker 3>nuts sickles? I do I have any nuts skulls? No,
<v Speaker 3>it's usually these ankles.
<v Speaker 1>I would recreationally use a nutsickle.
<v Speaker 2>Face on it with Dan's face on it. That'd be
<v Speaker 2>sell them in the store. I thought that was the
<v Speaker 2>idea that the manifested.
<v Speaker 6>Money other money, and we're gonna sell these, Dan, It's
<v Speaker 6>not for recreation on their nuts for money.
<v Speaker 2>Of course, your.
<v Speaker 4>Balls get cold, Jeff, no, no, no, this is these
<v Speaker 4>These will make them cold. They get high.
<v Speaker 2>Right right right right right right, notsicles of course, mosten
<v Speaker 2>if but my.
<v Speaker 1>Balls got cold.
<v Speaker 4>I cold, Doctor Manatti be likes of course.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, your business freezing there though, because there's sub slashing
<v Speaker 3>around in there, liquid adjacent things.
<v Speaker 4>Your body runs at ninety eight point six degrees and
<v Speaker 4>the reason that those are outside of your body, so
<v Speaker 4>they could be a little bit cooler, which is good
<v Speaker 4>for you.
<v Speaker 1>But they're not gonna but yeah they could they if
<v Speaker 1>warm blood is running through Yeah, I mean not from
<v Speaker 1>this thing though, not from the not single maybe no
<v Speaker 1>scared of it.
<v Speaker 4>What temperature you're doing it at?
<v Speaker 2>Like yeah, totally all right?
<v Speaker 4>Moving on.
<v Speaker 2>I was like in my mind, I was like, turtle
<v Speaker 2>bet is going to contribute or move on?
<v Speaker 4>I'm bet move on.
<v Speaker 2>I was gonna say that I don't think either of
<v Speaker 2>our faces are like the right shape to cool off.
<v Speaker 2>A pair of test nuts packed.
<v Speaker 4>Does kind of have Dan's beard on it shaped a
<v Speaker 4>little bit like his beard.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, glasses and eyeballs on that nuts that and it's
<v Speaker 3>me honestly, okay.
<v Speaker 2>Uh Kevin from Tennessee. Right. So, sometime last year Dan
<v Speaker 2>talked about Pitcross and got me to try it fell
<v Speaker 2>in love with it. It also led me to Sudoku Puzzles. Recently,
<v Speaker 2>I was looking for something new that scratched that same
<v Speaker 2>itch and came across Cockerrow, which is basically Sidoku mixed
<v Speaker 2>with crosswords. I've become addicted. There's an excellent version for
<v Speaker 2>the switch titled Puzzles by Nikolae s Cockerou has anyone
<v Speaker 2>on the podcast tried it? What are some other games
<v Speaker 2>that are in the same vein as Pitcross? I love
<v Speaker 2>Cam from Tennessee sent from my future iPhone. Puzzles by
<v Speaker 2>David s Cockerro like cocker here.
<v Speaker 3>Oh, it's like it's like spikey Sidoku spikey. Yeah, it's
<v Speaker 3>got like spikes on it if you look at it.
<v Speaker 4>Triangles. Uh, I don't really say. I'm not seeing triangles
<v Speaker 4>in the one I'm looking at k K U R O.
<v Speaker 4>I think.
<v Speaker 2>It's also not David s Cockrow, it's Nikolai.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, well I was asking and I needed that help.
<v Speaker 4>Thank you. That looks interesting.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, yeah, I wonder where the crossword element comes in.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's grids tiles. I'm buying it for sweat right now.
<v Speaker 4>I'm well hang out. Let me see at the prices.
<v Speaker 1>It's under ten dollars, so it's five bucks.
<v Speaker 4>I'm getting it.
<v Speaker 2>I developed by Keemco.
<v Speaker 6>What.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, stuff like this. I've seen this. It's interesting.
<v Speaker 4>I'll try this. Yeah, I like I like puzzles.
<v Speaker 2>Well, we'll report back.
<v Speaker 4>Anything else in the vein of this or a pitcross
<v Speaker 4>that you would recommend.
<v Speaker 2>I just do.
<v Speaker 1>I do Puzzmo every day. I have a Pusmo subscription.
<v Speaker 1>And this is just a website, pusmo dot com I
<v Speaker 1>think it is. And they have all kinds of different
<v Speaker 1>word games and brain to users, and they have a
<v Speaker 1>different crossword every day. And it's a little bit more
<v Speaker 1>playful than the New York Times a crossword, and.
<v Speaker 4>You don't have to feel bad about giving.
<v Speaker 1>Money the New York Times when they do their latest
<v Speaker 1>dumbest shit they've ever done, which is constant at this point.
<v Speaker 1>Uh So, yeah, Pusmo is my recommendation. I just played
<v Speaker 1>on my tablet pretty much every day.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, Pusmo's cool. Good endorsement. I play a game that
<v Speaker 6>is not what the emailer is asking for, and I'm
<v Speaker 6>still going to suggest it.
<v Speaker 2>Uh, it's rattle. Have you guys heard of rattle?
<v Speaker 4>Rattle? Rattle?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>Are a D D L E.
<v Speaker 2>Rattle is like a wordle?
<v Speaker 4>Is that what I should from that?
<v Speaker 2>It's so boggle?
<v Speaker 6>So go to Rattle dot Quest and it's basically a
<v Speaker 6>word sort of game where you are given I want
<v Speaker 6>to say, like ten clues. Uh, but you and then you,
<v Speaker 6>but you don't know which word is the like you
<v Speaker 6>don't know which word is the right answer for which clue,
<v Speaker 6>so you are not only trying to solve the riddles
<v Speaker 6>for what word to enter, you also don't know what
<v Speaker 6>which clue it sort of links up to and part
<v Speaker 6>of the so it's a bit of multi dimensional sort
<v Speaker 6>of gameplay there. You do get hints of like, oh,
<v Speaker 6>the next answer has four letters, or it's two words,
<v Speaker 6>or it's this many letters. You always know how many
<v Speaker 6>words and letters the next word has to be, but
<v Speaker 6>you don't know which clue is the matching.
<v Speaker 2>Is matching, So you're basically kind of like juggling those
<v Speaker 2>two things at once.
<v Speaker 1>What's what's the logic to the order of them? Is
<v Speaker 1>it sinding difficulty or I'm just trying. I'm looking at difficult.
<v Speaker 6>It gets easier the more you go right, because it's
<v Speaker 6>inverted right, because at first you have, you know, twelve
<v Speaker 6>possible clues.
<v Speaker 4>That you're a make sense.
<v Speaker 6>And then the further you go down you can get
<v Speaker 6>through it through a bit of process of elimination. But
<v Speaker 6>you're still meaning to guess which word is the answer now.
<v Speaker 6>Some of them are just like pints in the in
<v Speaker 6>the same vein of a crossword. Some of them are
<v Speaker 6>like word and letter swapping games like that. Uh, you
<v Speaker 6>kind of have to figure that out. Oh wait, Chad
<v Speaker 6>just said you can flip the ladder if you get stuck.
<v Speaker 2>Is that real?
<v Speaker 4>My god? You can?
<v Speaker 2>So you can start from the top down or the
<v Speaker 2>bottom up? Holy ship? What an asshole?
<v Speaker 1>I feel like.
<v Speaker 2>And there's a new one every day, there's a new one.
<v Speaker 4>Everything that is really fun. I like that rattle down
<v Speaker 4>in South.
<v Speaker 3>As to him, his mouth contains, the tongue is on
<v Speaker 3>a shoe contains, it's.
<v Speaker 4>Coming over, kick your sand castle.
<v Speaker 2>Different ones, all ones.
<v Speaker 6>What do you mean, oh god, different boy, the worlds
<v Speaker 6>You get the same one, dude.
<v Speaker 2>We were all doing the New York Times.
<v Speaker 4>That was the tutorial today.
<v Speaker 3>It's unsullied that it's from ground to Hog is today's
<v Speaker 3>I won't say it, mom, he said.
<v Speaker 1>He's like, you ever see this illusion?
<v Speaker 3>Here's how it works, Like, come on, man, Magic's greatest
<v Speaker 3>secrets revealed with me.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, oh man, I thought that guy.
<v Speaker 2>We didn't see the beard sticking out.
<v Speaker 5>Of course.
<v Speaker 2>It was all right, all right. Moving along with emails,
<v Speaker 2>I forget who wrote this one in. They merely write
<v Speaker 2>in Paul Giamatti as Warrior and they ended the email
<v Speaker 2>with fuck ice.
<v Speaker 4>None of this is wrong.
<v Speaker 6>No, I think Paulama's Warriors a fucking insult to Paul Giamatti.
<v Speaker 4>You know, he would have so much fun with that.
<v Speaker 3>Do you remember what he said about like wanting to
<v Speaker 3>be a monkey in that Planet of the Apes thing,
<v Speaker 3>and he said him up monkey, he would show up
<v Speaker 3>and kill everyone. Yeah, because he was early in his
<v Speaker 3>career and his agent was like, listen, you want this movie,
<v Speaker 3>but you need to be a human because like you
<v Speaker 3>need to show your face. And he said, if I'm
<v Speaker 3>not a fucking monkey, in this movie. I will show
<v Speaker 3>up and burn the entire set down. I will kill everyone.
<v Speaker 2>Where has he been? What's he doing?
<v Speaker 4>Star Trek? He's in Star Trek right now. You always
<v Speaker 4>want to be in Star Trek. He's in that starkly
<v Speaker 4>the Academy show. I can't bring myself to watch he was.
<v Speaker 4>He was on that Billions show for like, yeah, he's
<v Speaker 4>not for a bunch of stuff for a movie.
<v Speaker 2>Holdovers last year. Yeeah, Holdovers was great.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, he's a Cleveland adopted son after doing American Splendor,
<v Speaker 1>American Splendor, yeah, repeak, Yeah yeah, yeah yeah John Adams
<v Speaker 1>and I think he'd.
<v Speaker 2>Be better as Wart than Warrior.
<v Speaker 4>Okay, but he would have a lot of fun. He
<v Speaker 4>could do Warrior, he absolutely could.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah. Sideways good movie as well. All right, Travis Andfargo
<v Speaker 2>always writes in has five questions. I just choose one
<v Speaker 2>of them this week. I chose if you had to
<v Speaker 2>write a book in one month and it couldn't just
<v Speaker 2>be some dumb children's picture book, what would you write.
<v Speaker 3>I've done it and it was about an alligator that
<v Speaker 3>joins the Air Force.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, oh man, I don't know. It was always like very.
<v Speaker 6>Heavily influenced by all those like George Carlin books that
<v Speaker 6>came out in the I guess it was like nineties,
<v Speaker 6>early two thousands where it was just like a series
<v Speaker 6>of essays.
<v Speaker 2>Complaining about stuff. And I feel like that would kind
<v Speaker 2>of just flow.
<v Speaker 4>Out of me in a very organic way.
<v Speaker 3>Barry, do you know Dave Berry, He did a bunch
<v Speaker 3>of those. My dad always had so many Dave Barry
<v Speaker 3>comedy books growing up, and it was all just like
<v Speaker 3>wacky stuff like that. Man, Yeah, look, Barry talks back.
<v Speaker 3>Look at the cover of that.
<v Speaker 4>I just want to remake that cover. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>I would just have to like draw from a personal
<v Speaker 6>experience for everything, right, Like, uh so I would try
<v Speaker 6>and do my best George Carlin story to style of that.
<v Speaker 2>I would write a book of quotes that are false
<v Speaker 2>falsely attributed.
<v Speaker 4>Good. That's nice. Yeah, Like you could have a lot
<v Speaker 4>of fun with that. I would. I would, just I would.
<v Speaker 4>I've thought about it for a while.
<v Speaker 1>The history of Silicon graphics from like the time Jurassic
<v Speaker 1>part comes out to like the N sixty four and
<v Speaker 1>how they got that deal and there was a bidding
<v Speaker 1>war and they were maybe going to work with Sega
<v Speaker 1>and Tom Kolensky really wanted to work with them, and
<v Speaker 1>Sega Span was like, yeah, we'll do that, and then
<v Speaker 1>kind of pulled the rug out from underneath them and
<v Speaker 1>they ended up making the N sixty four instead.
<v Speaker 4>I think there's a cool history that's been untold.
<v Speaker 2>There a lot of research there, I mean, yeah, a lot.
<v Speaker 1>I've read a lot of interviews already, and it's Oh,
<v Speaker 1>I could talk to like these fifteen people.
<v Speaker 4>And probably have a book in no time.
<v Speaker 1>But I guess that would be the first half of
<v Speaker 1>the month, and then writing it would be the second
<v Speaker 1>half of the month.
<v Speaker 6>All right, bombthon twenty twenty six, stretch goals everyone, that's
<v Speaker 6>why any more demands on my time?
<v Speaker 4>Ar that'd be funny. We all have to write a book.
<v Speaker 1>We're on the hook for books now, Yeah, gross, what
<v Speaker 1>about you?
<v Speaker 4>Manati? Ohiety, I think I'll just be like, oh, you
<v Speaker 4>should all stop oh worrying so much.
<v Speaker 2>Stop drinking water and sleep.
<v Speaker 1>I'm drinking.
<v Speaker 4>You thought about just going to Disney World.
<v Speaker 6>Your book is about telling people who are anxious to
<v Speaker 6>stop worrying.
<v Speaker 4>Is a terrible thing. Up had to be really easy
<v Speaker 4>right soon.
<v Speaker 2>It's funny we talk about the Mike Manatti method because
<v Speaker 2>Valerie from Denver, Colorado wrote in High A Bombers, this
<v Speaker 2>one is for Mikey. Mike, we do not negotiate with terrorists.
<v Speaker 2>You're not a lesser person for waking up at noon.
<v Speaker 2>Some people have later sleep schedules, and there's nothing wrong
<v Speaker 2>with that. If we all woke up at the same
<v Speaker 2>time every day, emergency rooms would be shut down overnight.
<v Speaker 2>Don't let these fun hating fuddy duddies tell you what
<v Speaker 2>you can and can't do. You're the bad boy of
<v Speaker 2>games media, act like it. Lots of love for all
<v Speaker 2>of you, even if you all are a bunch of
<v Speaker 2>sun worshiping daytime dorks. So let's not kid ourselves here.
<v Speaker 2>It is not just waking up at noon. That's the
<v Speaker 2>weird part here. It's not just that fuck the sun,
<v Speaker 2>fuck the sun like schedule.
<v Speaker 3>It's insane like four hour naps right that started like
<v Speaker 3>five pm.
<v Speaker 4>Like, it's not just waking up at noon, right.
<v Speaker 2>Mike, No, keep gone, keep going, damn.
<v Speaker 4>Let's hear the well. The nas naps lately have been
<v Speaker 4>a little bad, but like it has have been a
<v Speaker 4>little yeah, I mean, but I've not been sleeping great lately, said,
<v Speaker 4>I'm just I'm still mostly on my side about this, Mike.
<v Speaker 4>What time do you take the naps after? As like
<v Speaker 4>six pm?
<v Speaker 1>Like sunset?
<v Speaker 4>Right?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>Wait, that's like a totally normal time to get sleepy.
<v Speaker 1>And there used to be a bifurcated sleep where people
<v Speaker 1>would they would sleep for four to seven hours, get
<v Speaker 1>up in the middle of the night, do a lot
<v Speaker 1>of productive stuff, and then go back to bed at
<v Speaker 1>like seven and sleep until like two pm. Well, this
<v Speaker 1>is a well decked in normal sleeper. Sure, I think
<v Speaker 1>he's just like got demands that keeps him from doing
<v Speaker 1>what he would naturally fall into otherwise, and so it
<v Speaker 1>looks a little bit strange compared to that. Let's try and.
<v Speaker 6>Understand it, though, because I'm not I'm more of just
<v Speaker 6>an educational outsider here. I'm just trying to understand the
<v Speaker 6>way this guy ticks. How many waking hours would you
<v Speaker 6>say you.
<v Speaker 2>Have in a day?
<v Speaker 4>Thinks, I don't know, I'll probably sleep for nine hours,
<v Speaker 4>So what's twenty four? Mice, nine, thirteen, fifteen, maybe fifteen
<v Speaker 4>waking hours a day and.
<v Speaker 2>That includes the nap. No, No, okay, so you've you've
<v Speaker 2>not answered the question.
<v Speaker 4>I've done seven hours for night and then like maybe
<v Speaker 4>I'm napping an hour or two. That's what I'm saying.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm sleeping for nine hours.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, seriously for nine which is above average, i'd say,
<v Speaker 6>but okay, crazy, not crazy.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like in the past you've said though that
<v Speaker 3>like it's like sometimes three or four hour naps in
<v Speaker 3>the evening.
<v Speaker 4>I mean that's pretty extreme. Yeah, sure, that's like that's
<v Speaker 4>a special weekend treat. Maybe lately, yeah, yeah, I mean
<v Speaker 4>there's Winter's always winter always gets worse with the naps.
<v Speaker 4>I'm a little bit of a teddy. Yeah, exactly. I
<v Speaker 4>need a hibernate and it's cold. It's kind of I
<v Speaker 4>don't know, seasonal depression or something. I don't know what
<v Speaker 4>it is.
<v Speaker 1>I am the most snuggable, that's for sure. I do
<v Speaker 1>not get seven hours to sleep. Uh when I'm like
<v Speaker 1>go to bed at night and then have to get up, like,
<v Speaker 1>that's not happening for me.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm envious. I'd say I get eight to nine
<v Speaker 4>a night. I would all love that. I get early,
<v Speaker 4>get those kids to school, and it just it's just
<v Speaker 4>getting the way, Like nine last night, that feels good.
<v Speaker 4>Last night was Last night was bad. I didn't know
<v Speaker 4>fall asleep till six am. I tried. I just it
<v Speaker 4>was rough. It was rough, and of course gets to
<v Speaker 4>the point where you just you're you're just now every
<v Speaker 4>ten minutes recalculating how much sleep am I gonna get
<v Speaker 4>if I can manage to fall asleep now knowing that
<v Speaker 4>you won't, and then you know, it was just it
<v Speaker 4>was a rough night, but I got there. Eventually I
<v Speaker 4>got a little sleep. So here I am. I've been pleasant.
<v Speaker 4>I haven't been I haven't been mean, testy.
<v Speaker 2>Good time, give me the best. Yeah, I agree, I'm
<v Speaker 2>a hero. Thank thank you for for controlling all the
<v Speaker 2>rage bubbling underneath you.
<v Speaker 4>Mike.
<v Speaker 2>It's really app And that's the book he's writing.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, gets screens out of the out of the bedroom. See,
<v Speaker 4>I do get that.
<v Speaker 2>I but it works.
<v Speaker 4>But I don't know. I have a lot of memories
<v Speaker 4>of being a kid and just kind of laying in
<v Speaker 4>bed for hours and just being miserable and not able
<v Speaker 4>to fall asleep. At least now I do things and
<v Speaker 4>I'm not able to fall asleep. So I mean, I've
<v Speaker 4>though as far as fall maybe you know, I just
<v Speaker 4>I've never been a good sleeper. My mom said to you,
<v Speaker 4>I just have always struggled getting this.
<v Speaker 2>It's just reason four hundred and eighty of why Mike
<v Speaker 2>just start doing drugs?
<v Speaker 4>You know, no kidding, we.
<v Speaker 3>Sleep does not work for me at lean Oppose, I
<v Speaker 3>will just be in my head just a million thoughts
<v Speaker 3>bounds around like crazy.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe you might just have to lower your dostage there.
<v Speaker 3>Now that I understand, I am reading. Anxiety sometimes don't
<v Speaker 3>work well together.
<v Speaker 2>Next email comes from Chris and Colorado. Hey, bros. I'm
<v Speaker 2>not a wrestling fan, but the two thousand and one
<v Speaker 2>Royal Rumble showed up in my YouTube recommendations and I
<v Speaker 2>watched it. It's a truly incredible match, with Caine surviving
<v Speaker 2>over fifty minutes and eliminating eleven people, the Rock coming
<v Speaker 2>back from being dropped on the announcer's table in stone
<v Speaker 2>cold face, dripping blood, finally winning. While I recognize those guys,
<v Speaker 2>plus a few other famous wrestlers, most people I'd never
<v Speaker 2>heard of, can Dan please give a one sentence description
<v Speaker 2>of them and whether or not fans like them.
<v Speaker 3>I can't promise one sentence, but yes, I'll give you
<v Speaker 3>the quick rundown.
<v Speaker 2>I'll name the rest and then you give the sentence. Okay, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>Harry Saturn.
<v Speaker 3>The lesser of the radicals, but still had some cool,
<v Speaker 3>had a great elbow, drop crazy tattoos, and fell in
<v Speaker 3>love with the mop Bari.
<v Speaker 1>The lesser is what they called him.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, uh, the good Father.
<v Speaker 3>So that was the Godfather who was a pimp and
<v Speaker 3>also a voodoo guy and a UFC fighter. And then eventually,
<v Speaker 3>while he was a pimp, a group called the Right
<v Speaker 3>to Censor, who was a play on the Parents Television
<v Speaker 3>Council all the time. Then they wanted to censor all
<v Speaker 3>the section and violence and cursing on whatever. So the
<v Speaker 3>Godfather became the good Father, and suddenly he hated pimping
<v Speaker 3>hose and Valvenus hated pornography.
<v Speaker 4>So wow, yes, yes, yes, right, yes, he's also not.
<v Speaker 2>If any of these people are are have moved on.
<v Speaker 4>Both are alive, okay, I believe live near me. Okay. Unfortunately,
<v Speaker 4>I think the next one is the only one that
<v Speaker 4>has passed test.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, he's definitely.
<v Speaker 3>The test's character was he was a bodyguard for Motley Crue,
<v Speaker 3>who was huge, had a great look, great elbow, great
<v Speaker 3>big boot, and so they wanted them to be a big,
<v Speaker 3>big star, and so they said, oh, we're gonna a
<v Speaker 3>storyline where you marry Stephanie McMahon, Vince mcmann's daughter, and
<v Speaker 3>then you're gonna have a big feud with Triple H,
<v Speaker 3>big star, big heel. So uh, but I don't think
<v Speaker 3>Triple Ah liked him too much, so it buried him
<v Speaker 3>pretty hard.
<v Speaker 6>Wow, I just you just it's amazing. You just everything's
<v Speaker 6>coming back to me. I can't believe you remember all
<v Speaker 6>of this stuff that you choose to remember.
<v Speaker 2>It's amazing.
<v Speaker 3>It's not a conscious thing. It's just my brain refuses
<v Speaker 3>to remember anything that's not.
<v Speaker 4>This or video games.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's also reassuring that your brain can do it.
<v Speaker 6>I think it's just very narrow focuses. Yes, yeah, shouts
<v Speaker 6>out to the testicles out there. Wasn't it wasn't his song.
<v Speaker 6>Wasn't his theme song?
<v Speaker 4>Just like the test Yes, I hated.
<v Speaker 2>Stacy Keebler was his valet for a hot second.
<v Speaker 3>Ye remember, wow, TNA it was Testing Albert managed by Tristratus.
<v Speaker 3>That was TNA was the tag team? Yes, yes, I
<v Speaker 3>don't get it, test than Albert. Yeah, oh that's the
<v Speaker 3>third initials got.
<v Speaker 4>On, I get two more. Dan K Quick k Quick.
<v Speaker 3>Is Ron Killings, also known as Our Truth. He is timeless.
<v Speaker 3>He has been a tremendous performer since the nineties. Great
<v Speaker 3>in the ring, great comedy performer. Maybe underappreciated in a
<v Speaker 3>lot of ways, but is a one of the most
<v Speaker 3>beloved guys backstage. Yeah, no one, No one has anything
<v Speaker 3>bad to say about Our Truth.
<v Speaker 4>He's he's awesome.
<v Speaker 2>I don't understand how the guy is like fifty plus
<v Speaker 2>and he looks the way he does.
<v Speaker 3>A little genuinely hilarious, like outside of the realm of
<v Speaker 3>television and playing a character.
<v Speaker 4>He's just NonStop entertainment. And last on the list Scotty
<v Speaker 4>Too Hotty, Scott Tty w Scotty too Hotty.
<v Speaker 3>He was an the tag team Too Cool or Too
<v Speaker 3>Much before that, Who are a couple of dancing goobers
<v Speaker 3>who teamed up with Rakishi, who was a man with
<v Speaker 3>a large ass that put people's faces in his ass.
<v Speaker 3>Their distinc face was his move, and they would dance
<v Speaker 3>and put on sunglasses at the end of their things.
<v Speaker 3>Scotty in particular was known for his signature hairstyle that
<v Speaker 3>stuck up out of his bucket. Hat and he would
<v Speaker 3>do the worm. He would do a big like little
<v Speaker 3>hop around on one foot and people would go w
<v Speaker 3>or m. He would do the worm and then he
<v Speaker 3>would do a stupid chop thing on you.
<v Speaker 2>All right?
<v Speaker 4>Thank you Dan.
<v Speaker 2>Chris Ferry is off the email by saying thanks fuck
<v Speaker 2>Ice Trains writes smoke Weed every day. Thank you Chris
<v Speaker 2>and Colorado. Last email for the show, and once again,
<v Speaker 2>thank you everyone for writing in emails. I have a
<v Speaker 2>bunch here that we don't have the time to read out,
<v Speaker 2>but this one comes from Mike in Portland. Hey, fellas,
<v Speaker 2>I got a bone to pick with Backlar. Now correct
<v Speaker 2>me if I'm wrong or has this been asked before?
<v Speaker 2>But why are you so against being bald? Dan and
<v Speaker 2>Mike seem to be all for it in some regard,
<v Speaker 2>and as a fellow bald man myself, I can't tell
<v Speaker 2>you how freeing it is to be bald. I no
<v Speaker 2>longer have to worry about doing my hair in the morning.
<v Speaker 2>I no longer have to worry about getting hat hair
<v Speaker 2>if I do wear a hat, or just overall feel
<v Speaker 2>better about my appearance. Is it because you just miss
<v Speaker 2>having lush's hair like Jan and Grub or are you
<v Speaker 2>just against bald people? With love, Mike from Portland.
<v Speaker 4>Thanks for your email. Mike.
<v Speaker 1>For the record, I don't worry about doing my hair, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I do want that out there, want that out there.
<v Speaker 2>Listen.
<v Speaker 4>I know that Backler's gonna cook whenever he starts sentenced
<v Speaker 4>with listen.
<v Speaker 6>So I just think, like, is the is the question
<v Speaker 6>why I'm not against bald people. I'm against myself being
<v Speaker 6>bald because it's terrible.
<v Speaker 1>I hate how I look bald.
<v Speaker 2>I don't like it. I think every time I don't
<v Speaker 2>wear a hat, I look seventy nine years old.
<v Speaker 3>Have you considered growing a giant beard?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, I'm not sure that's gonna help, considering my beard
<v Speaker 2>is also rapidly graying.
<v Speaker 4>And if I shave my beard, as have just for
<v Speaker 4>men that I could give you myke mention better than mine.
<v Speaker 6>I think if I shave my beard, I will look
<v Speaker 6>I'm just not it's it ain't gonna look even though
<v Speaker 6>it's it's gray now. And for the most part, I
<v Speaker 6>also like. That's how I feel. I can't help you
<v Speaker 6>understand what my position is on being bald email or
<v Speaker 6>I just think you have to allow me to be
<v Speaker 6>upset with the fact that I've got no hair. I
<v Speaker 6>also take umbrage with your analysis about it being less work.
<v Speaker 6>I would argue, it's more work. There's more maintenance. You
<v Speaker 6>gotta worry about it being like always fucking shaved the
<v Speaker 6>right way.
<v Speaker 4>It's on and now the hair all stop, like it's
<v Speaker 4>they're still patches coming in. Now we're constantly doing with
<v Speaker 4>these patches. One of those people shaved like twice twice
<v Speaker 4>a week in the shower.
<v Speaker 2>You just I can't do that. My skin is gross.
<v Speaker 6>Everything about my head is gross. I can't get away
<v Speaker 6>with it. Dan, You're in a much better situation than
<v Speaker 6>I am.
<v Speaker 2>With what do you do? I use clippers.
<v Speaker 6>I can't if I if I shave it to the
<v Speaker 6>like if I bick it, I'll like break out. My
<v Speaker 6>skin is too Yeah, I understand what you're saying. But
<v Speaker 6>you use that that pip thing it really Yeah, I
<v Speaker 6>can if I do that, I also look a little
<v Speaker 6>weird like doing it.
<v Speaker 4>I don't like doing it down to the nub. I
<v Speaker 4>like have like I have, like the little the lowest setting.
<v Speaker 4>I still like a little bit.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know, but but even the nub down to
<v Speaker 6>the nub is more Uh, maintenance also because you got
<v Speaker 6>to keep that going.
<v Speaker 4>Right, grow and grown hair has become can be become
<v Speaker 4>up depending on your scalp. I get I get it back. Oh, look,
<v Speaker 4>I think you look completely I think you'll completely find bald.
<v Speaker 4>The hit the hat looks good. I think you looked
<v Speaker 4>much better with hair than than Dan or I ever did.
<v Speaker 4>So I understand why you're upset.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, you actually lost something.
<v Speaker 6>Yes, yeah, I lost something that was taken from me.
<v Speaker 6>Something was taken from me, and it was hair. And look,
<v Speaker 6>did I ever I'd never had the thickest hair. I
<v Speaker 6>never had the fullest hair, but god damn it, what
<v Speaker 6>I had I liked and uh and it sucks, but
<v Speaker 6>that I that that So that's why I'm like, I'm
<v Speaker 6>not against being bald. I'm personally upset that I you
<v Speaker 6>just you don't do.
<v Speaker 4>Not enjoy you being bald?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I have no you've never seen another bald man
<v Speaker 1>and like, how dare you?
<v Speaker 4>I hate looking at you? You don't care?
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, And I also don't like I don't have this
<v Speaker 6>sort of like, uh, camaraderie with other bald people.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not like we're in the same club. It's like, no,
<v Speaker 2>I don't want to be in there.
<v Speaker 3>Now.
<v Speaker 2>This is a problem. Problem. Isn't there a hair club
<v Speaker 2>for men?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>And guess what they have hair?
<v Speaker 3>I had long, luscious hair at some point, so I
<v Speaker 3>did lose that. I just posted a link in the
<v Speaker 3>chat there. It was luxurious.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, look at that.
<v Speaker 2>You know you look like a criminal, Dan, Like, let
<v Speaker 2>me take care.
<v Speaker 3>I was probably breaking the law in that picture because
<v Speaker 3>I am pretending to work at the bar and carting
<v Speaker 3>everyone as a brink like, I.
<v Speaker 2>Don't remember you working at a bar.
<v Speaker 4>No, I just pulled up a stool and everybody that
<v Speaker 4>came in.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, ID, and I've just been way too
<v Speaker 3>long looking back and forth at the idea and then
<v Speaker 3>until the bar came out.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, the last line in this unhinged email, is
<v Speaker 6>it because you just miss having luscious hair? You are
<v Speaker 6>telling me to my face why I'm upset about being
<v Speaker 6>ball just exactly.
<v Speaker 2>You just did it at the bear.
<v Speaker 1>You're poking the bear.
<v Speaker 6>You're smacking the bee hive with a baseball bat, And
<v Speaker 6>that's what's happening, not because of the interne.
<v Speaker 2>Come on, Mike, I'm not mad at you.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not mad at you.
<v Speaker 1>This is just two places that will give you fiber. Sorry,
<v Speaker 1>I'm still looking at that map. I'm not going to
<v Speaker 1>dox you.
<v Speaker 6>But no, not Mike Manatti, Mike from Portland. I'm not
<v Speaker 6>mad at you, Mike from Portland. I can never get
<v Speaker 6>mad at Mike Manatti. Obviously, come on, obviously.
<v Speaker 2>No, it's so that's the story. It sucks. I wish
<v Speaker 2>I had hair. I don't you know. I look at
<v Speaker 2>DIBB and I'm like, brother, you got maybe twenty years.
<v Speaker 6>If you're lock not even I'm sorry, maybe ten to
<v Speaker 6>fifteen if you're lucky.
<v Speaker 1>Your uncle.
<v Speaker 2>Hold that thought, Mike, your uncle Johnny B. Johnny B
<v Speaker 2>went ball at nineteen you got wow? Okay, I almost.
<v Speaker 2>I basically doubled his ass up, which is insane, which
<v Speaker 2>I had no right to do whatsoever.
<v Speaker 6>Let's be honest. It's called spades. I was holding onto
<v Speaker 6>those last fibers with with the jaws of life for fuck.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, it was bad news for you know, thirty
<v Speaker 6>seven there for a long time.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, let's let's say.
<v Speaker 6>What it was out loud, folks. It was pathetic. It
<v Speaker 6>was just pathetic, Okay, but yeah, I miss it. So
<v Speaker 6>that's why I hope this answer satisfied the question. Thank you,
<v Speaker 6>Mike from Portland.
<v Speaker 2>I see a lot of people saying that, oh, hair
<v Speaker 2>comes from your mother's side, so maybe dip has a chance.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know if that's bull completely true. Grandfather did not, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>because like genetic so it's just like any other genetic things.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, both sides a right.
<v Speaker 2>And in that category he's got zero percent.
<v Speaker 4>Like there's just no chance it would be any bold
<v Speaker 4>men in my family.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, Well, no one asked that we were. You could
<v Speaker 2>have thought the thought in the mind, not for the body.
<v Speaker 1>You're right.
<v Speaker 2>I was about to say, like, yeah, my hair texture
<v Speaker 2>is too sick and it's not like my mom's at all.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, that's how you know, Like we really can't figure
<v Speaker 6>out the baldness thing because it because like you, every
<v Speaker 6>other like male issue is so disproportionately addressed in your society, right,
<v Speaker 6>Like that's the true mystery box that we cannot figure out.
<v Speaker 1>They figured out wiener stuff before they figured that out, which.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think they did.
<v Speaker 4>I don't think.
<v Speaker 1>Like you, you've never known a world without viagra. There
<v Speaker 1>was a time before where that was like a deep
<v Speaker 1>concern for men of a certain age. So yeah, and
<v Speaker 1>then they like never really. I guess recently the hair
<v Speaker 1>stuff has gotten quite a bit better, but I don't
<v Speaker 1>know compared to what. Yeah, but apparently the chemical stuff
<v Speaker 1>is also better. The medicine stuff is also better.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 6>I've I expect there's a chance in my lifetime where
<v Speaker 6>it will be super easy, where it maybe the price
<v Speaker 6>of whatever comes down, you don't have to go to Turkey,
<v Speaker 6>you know, whatever it is, and I'll do it. And
<v Speaker 6>if there's some like easy to go thing, I will
<v Speaker 6>absolutely do because that's what I want. Dan, that sounds
<v Speaker 6>like you're about to say, like I love being bald
<v Speaker 6>and people.
<v Speaker 3>Because I got that offer from that place in Turkey. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>then fly me out and all that.
<v Speaker 4>They'll do it.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know if I want to do that, even
<v Speaker 6>though I guess it would be a bit of the
<v Speaker 6>Motherland trip for me because I have Turkish blood in
<v Speaker 6>my family.
<v Speaker 4>That cool.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah coffee, yeah right, I don't.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I would.
<v Speaker 6>I would do something else I would do I would,
<v Speaker 6>I would, Yeah, I would do something else. I just
<v Speaker 6>don't want to get cut, you know.
<v Speaker 4>What I mean? Surgery cut me, you gotta cut me.
<v Speaker 4>You know, I think you got to like follow up appointments, right,
<v Speaker 4>so it's like you got to go back there with
<v Speaker 4>the hair kind of looking a little. And I don't know,
<v Speaker 4>I don't know a lot of the guys I see
<v Speaker 4>on those flights of turkey that'll end up on social media,
<v Speaker 4>they aren't wearing hats. And I guess would be like,
<v Speaker 4>you can't wear a hat just because it's gonna mess
<v Speaker 4>up the things growing and.
<v Speaker 1>Would completely undo my entire your whole, your whole Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>And I was always a hack guy, even when I
<v Speaker 2>had hair. I was always a big hack guy.
<v Speaker 4>So yeah, so you know what, subscribe to it because
<v Speaker 4>I know some people who are like the hats, what
<v Speaker 4>did it? It's wearing hats that makes you go bald.
<v Speaker 4>Seems like a big, weird super conspiracy to me.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean that's to me, that's just like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>did you walk under a ladder? That's why you're bald.
<v Speaker 4>I am glad I started going. I'm glad I went
<v Speaker 4>bald early because I've had plenty of time to accept it.
<v Speaker 4>Like I post a picture of twenty fifteen with me
<v Speaker 4>and Jeff at E three at the Star Wars. You
<v Speaker 4>got weird with care. Now when I where is that?
<v Speaker 4>I want to see it? I put it in chat here.
<v Speaker 4>I'll put it in our chat here right now, and
<v Speaker 4>it's already going. I'm already coming it over like the
<v Speaker 4>way to see it, to cover the bald spot. So yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I've had a long time to come to terms with it.
<v Speaker 2>Dan, every picture you post, it's just telling a different
<v Speaker 2>story of something. Look.
<v Speaker 4>College, there's a lot of study and what can I.
<v Speaker 2>Say, fantastic, fantastic. Oh that does look like a completely
<v Speaker 2>different person.
<v Speaker 4>Mike Minatti. Yeah, yeah that was me for I feel
<v Speaker 4>like i'd even wear my hair that long. For most
<v Speaker 4>of my life with hair, it was just unkempt. I
<v Speaker 4>did nothing with it. I didn't deserve hair, so I
<v Speaker 4>kind of also accept.
<v Speaker 2>It as because it was.
<v Speaker 4>It was thick and it was luscious, and I did
<v Speaker 4>I did nothing with it. It was just a mop
<v Speaker 4>on my head. I could not be bothered. I did
<v Speaker 4>not care. So yeah, I understood why the universe took
<v Speaker 4>it away from me.
<v Speaker 1>All right, Okay, Chuck sharing this picture of Bacalar at
<v Speaker 1>the end is mean, Chuck, It's just me.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, what what are we doing?
<v Speaker 4>Chuck?
<v Speaker 1>In our in our crew talk here in the chat here,
<v Speaker 1>Chuck's got a picture like zoomed in.
<v Speaker 2>You know what, Chuck's glad.
<v Speaker 6>I didn't give you any credit for helping me with
<v Speaker 6>the Internet earlier, because I would have taken it back
<v Speaker 6>with that.
<v Speaker 4>Oh my lord, God, I'm so I'm looking at twenty
<v Speaker 4>fourteen pictures of my hair is so thin. When was
<v Speaker 4>the last time, I mean, I high school? I did?
<v Speaker 2>God, God, my hair was? It was rough?
<v Speaker 4>I nose shot?
<v Speaker 1>Oh oh did you say nose job or no shot?
<v Speaker 2>I can I show you?
<v Speaker 4>Okay, I want I want to show you all this
<v Speaker 4>picture from twenty eleven.
<v Speaker 2>I am is this fifteen years ago?
<v Speaker 4>Fifteen years ago? So I am in my mid twenties.
<v Speaker 4>I'm gonna go this baby up. Mid twenties is where
<v Speaker 4>I am in this picture. And it is really bad.
<v Speaker 4>One second it's from the infinite thing. Okay.
<v Speaker 6>I'm assuming you had the awareness though, right Like did
<v Speaker 6>you you had the awareness?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah? I kind of did. This was before I started
<v Speaker 4>coming it upwards. At least here you go. Chat. Oh, buddy, Dan,
<v Speaker 4>you look like mid twenty Kansas is answered to Florida
<v Speaker 4>man in these pictures, like you just you're just Kansas man. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>Kansas man.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, look I understand. Look in the moment, Manai.
<v Speaker 6>And for for people who are just listening to the podcast, Manatis,
<v Speaker 6>just posting these just so reporting.
<v Speaker 1>Effect that it was my ever good. Can we put
<v Speaker 1>these pictures into the description?
<v Speaker 4>Sure people can see? Can they can look along? All right?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, look it's it happens, man, I get it. Hair thins.
<v Speaker 2>It's just that it all kind of just you know.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, even the year before this, this picture of me
<v Speaker 4>with some guy that damn might recognize, the hair looks
<v Speaker 4>a bit better. This is what my hair looked like
<v Speaker 4>most of my life in this picture of me Chris Jericho.
<v Speaker 4>Then you went down after that in twenty ten.
<v Speaker 2>Do you guys ever do any like fun hairstyles when when.
<v Speaker 4>You had him, I didn't do anything.
<v Speaker 1>I bleached my hair once. It looked like it looked orange.
<v Speaker 4>It was weird. I cut you Harris the one time. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I remember that. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I had a really long rat tail for a hot minute.
<v Speaker 2>Oh that's all right.
<v Speaker 6>Oh yeah, they got to bring that back, the rat
<v Speaker 6>tail something something are no you know why we are
<v Speaker 6>having the conversation with them about the mall it.
<v Speaker 2>Oh the you're having to talk yeah very much. Now,
<v Speaker 2>look I like it. I just I don't know. It's
<v Speaker 2>supposed to be a phase, kid, get over it right
<v Speaker 2>like this is this is a this has gone from
<v Speaker 2>phase to a lifestyle. So we're seeing what happens here.
<v Speaker 4>We'll see.
<v Speaker 2>I did want to try and get a perm one time,
<v Speaker 2>but I couldn't take the phase of my hair growing up.
<v Speaker 4>It was weird. Oh, I'd love to see photos.
<v Speaker 1>Of I picked my hair out before that time. I
<v Speaker 1>was on Attack of the Show when I was talking
<v Speaker 1>to Olivia Munn and then she commented on my hair
<v Speaker 1>so that I specifically picked it out and made it
<v Speaker 1>as big as I possibly couldn't.
<v Speaker 2>How many Attack of the shows did you do?
<v Speaker 4>I just that was.
<v Speaker 1>I was on there just as like a caller, like a.
<v Speaker 4>That was once.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I wasn't like you with actually showing up a
<v Speaker 1>scenet man.
<v Speaker 2>Oh my god, they're like scene a man, Jeff.
<v Speaker 4>But collar all right?
<v Speaker 2>That does it for emails, bombcaster John bomb dot com
<v Speaker 2>is the email. Just send your emails too, mister Minati
<v Speaker 2>hit me with some YouTube super chats.
<v Speaker 4>Please absolutely, thank you so much everybody from Big Fresh
<v Speaker 4>thirty seven. There's a Karma Geddon rogue light out this
<v Speaker 4>week question mark like actual Karma Geddon branded I think so, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I keep seeing that I don't know, okay, looking to that,
<v Speaker 4>Antoyo Moral says, just got chewed up by my boss's boss.
<v Speaker 4>How's your Tuesday going. I also received my copy of Virtuoso.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm just a bund of nerves. Yes, sounds good. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I haven't had a I haven't had a job in
<v Speaker 4>a while where like somebody would chew me out. Sometimes
<v Speaker 4>I'm grateful for that. I've always really hated that. I
<v Speaker 4>get very nervous, and then I get indignant. I get
<v Speaker 4>I get way too emotional about getting chewed out.
<v Speaker 1>I loved it because it's like, oh, wonderful an opportunity
<v Speaker 1>to talk about this list of problems I have with
<v Speaker 1>the way you're doing your job and would just be like,
<v Speaker 1>here's why everything sucks, bang bag back, and they'd always
<v Speaker 1>come out of that with like, we can't ever chew
<v Speaker 1>him out again. It was I was, uh huh, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I was like, no, you listen, you don't bother me.
<v Speaker 1>I don't bother you. But if you're gonna have a
<v Speaker 1>problem with what I'm doing. Here's all the ways. This
<v Speaker 1>store is the worst.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, a lot of fun.
<v Speaker 5>Uh.
<v Speaker 4>Kamakazie Lemmings says, a few months back, while listening to
<v Speaker 4>the Bonkast, I thought to myself, Bacalar is so cool.
<v Speaker 4>I wish he was my dad. Two questions, What is
<v Speaker 4>wrong with me? Should I consider seeing a therapist?
<v Speaker 2>A cool dad?
<v Speaker 4>I get it. He's got pimp all machines in his home.
<v Speaker 4>How cool is that he's making dragons for his son.
<v Speaker 4>He's very supportive at local sporting events. I mean, come on,
<v Speaker 4>he's a great thing.
<v Speaker 2>Are you trying to get adopted right now? Is that
<v Speaker 2>what's happening?
<v Speaker 6>Oh?
<v Speaker 4>He wishes he would would have thought me so fast.
<v Speaker 2>I just feel like your.
<v Speaker 6>Number two, move on over. That's I don't know how
<v Speaker 6>to take that. I'll take it as a compliment. I'll
<v Speaker 6>choose it as a compliment. I'm curious how old chatter is.
<v Speaker 4>That'd be weird if you we're similar in age.
<v Speaker 1>But we have to take that out.
<v Speaker 4>That's fine. Uh. Lewis Krad says, here's some breaking question
<v Speaker 4>Mark news. The director of the new Resumo nine live
<v Speaker 4>action promo is reportedly ritually director of Amazon's hit film
<v Speaker 4>War of the World. Yes, I think about that War
<v Speaker 4>of the World's movie. It's like the most fun I've
<v Speaker 4>had watching a movie in a long time.
<v Speaker 1>I think if I had not gone to Minneapolis, I
<v Speaker 1>would have watched that Chris Pratt sitting around in my
<v Speaker 1>movie Zoom call AI movie by now. Apparently that's even
<v Speaker 1>worse corporate propaganda. War of the World Amazon again, it's yeah,
<v Speaker 1>it's Amazon made it, It's for AI.
<v Speaker 4>It's like they're like and like, you know, I don't know,
<v Speaker 4>I haven't seen it. People say it's the moral movie,
<v Speaker 4>not that AI is bad. Apparently it's that it's good.
<v Speaker 2>I hope, I hope she got paid major mula for that.
<v Speaker 4>Yes please? Oh yeah, incredible? Uh all right, Rio roque
<v Speaker 4>Sa has just had a Physics down, Phoenix down moment
<v Speaker 4>and realized Mike is the bad boy games media because
<v Speaker 4>he's been naughty, like naughty. I don't know if that's
<v Speaker 4>why you.
<v Speaker 1>Call me that, jam No, clearly just your behavior. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>so so despicable.
<v Speaker 2>Asses, cultivated reputations and yeah, people don't know this, but
<v Speaker 2>he's beat all of us up before.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it hurts me.
<v Speaker 3>Actually, he is the one out of this group that
<v Speaker 3>has assaulted me the most.
<v Speaker 4>That's true.
<v Speaker 2>I was it self defense, noat.
<v Speaker 4>Literally playing with marbles and he attacks me.
<v Speaker 2>Literally just played with in my mind.
<v Speaker 4>If I was in that grim suit for another ten
<v Speaker 4>minutes longer than I had to, I would not have
<v Speaker 4>walked out of there. So yes, it was self even
<v Speaker 4>I'm impressed with how fast I move in that clip
<v Speaker 4>when I got so terrible shot me in the face.
<v Speaker 6>So maybe than you, because I was asking, I was like,
<v Speaker 6>are you are you discounting that? Because it wasn't like
<v Speaker 6>actual physical content.
<v Speaker 3>Grubb did cause the most physical use a weapon. Grubb
<v Speaker 3>also did protect me from getting murdered, So I think
<v Speaker 3>it cancels. Yeah, maybe from anything.
<v Speaker 4>He's only maybe you reckon that all right, tick Wid
<v Speaker 4>says requesting Mike, you give me the strength to get
<v Speaker 4>into Megan Man specifically the X series collection for PS
<v Speaker 4>two me your ways.
<v Speaker 2>I'm bad at games, yeah, Megan Man X.
<v Speaker 4>Uh look up the boss order. Just do that, especially
<v Speaker 4>you know, go to chilpeng Win first. There's no yeah,
<v Speaker 4>there's no arm and just learning where you're supposed to go.
<v Speaker 4>Even look at the guy. Find out where the health
<v Speaker 4>containers are, in fact for Mecan man X one the
<v Speaker 4>first playthroughs, learn how to get the dope in. It's
<v Speaker 4>gonna make some of the final bosses a lot easier,
<v Speaker 4>and it's fun to get the hood dope in. It's
<v Speaker 4>a weird thing to get the do to unlock it.
<v Speaker 4>The guys will tell you I forget the PS two
<v Speaker 4>version as safe states, But don't be afraid of using
<v Speaker 4>safe states when you're playing those games for the first
<v Speaker 4>time and learning them, because they think a lot of
<v Speaker 4>people when they get frustrating quits because I ran out
<v Speaker 4>of lives and I was at the boss and I
<v Speaker 4>I have to play that level over again. So make
<v Speaker 4>yourself a little safe state when you get to the boss.
<v Speaker 4>You can learn the patterns and what you need to
<v Speaker 4>do there. And yeah, yeah, I mean even even me
<v Speaker 4>as much a love in the memo games, I'm sure
<v Speaker 4>the first time I beat all of them, I was
<v Speaker 4>using safe states to help learn things. And you know,
<v Speaker 4>now it's the point where I don't have to do
<v Speaker 4>that stuff anymore.
<v Speaker 2>Uh.
<v Speaker 4>Next up is from a Migsy just backl Art. If
<v Speaker 4>Mike Naughty said no to the Giant Bomb partner invite
<v Speaker 4>who else would be next in line. He has an
<v Speaker 4>order of succession for these things.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, crisis like next of kinds, Like someone's right
<v Speaker 2>in a will.
<v Speaker 4>They suggest div as a potential one. Yeah yeah. How
<v Speaker 4>many people say no before div was brought in hard no,
<v Speaker 4>I think, yeah, well, hey walked away.
<v Speaker 6>You came around on deb But I thought in the
<v Speaker 6>last couple of months, I mean, honestly, the dragon I
<v Speaker 6>have to respect, I do.
<v Speaker 2>There was more like you were doing things all right?
<v Speaker 4>Cool?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you like that he like like fights and does
<v Speaker 2>ddts and stuff.
<v Speaker 4>You're you're a fan all around.
<v Speaker 6>He's doing stunners in the hallways in school.
<v Speaker 3>He's moving in the right direction. Okay, I want to
<v Speaker 3>watch a couple more decades and he'll be yourself.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, you're like, as soon as once he starts doing
<v Speaker 4>the whole being a kid thing, I think he's got
<v Speaker 4>something there. Oh that's a huge plus for any human.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah yeah, and then uh Connor Echo Sama says ask
<v Speaker 4>this a few years back, but New Crew New answers
<v Speaker 4>if hot dogs could be cooked by cracking them like
<v Speaker 4>a glow stick, would.
<v Speaker 1>You eat one?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>More fu Yeah, yeah I would eat one now even
<v Speaker 2>just normal styles.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, I like the blistered skin on a hot
<v Speaker 4>talk though, and I feel like I'm not gonna get that.
<v Speaker 2>Now. You know, why haven't we made this? This is
<v Speaker 2>what you mean?
<v Speaker 4>How do you think you could? You can't do this.
<v Speaker 4>You would need chemicals that are.
<v Speaker 3>Probably just imagine because I've been thinking about Costco hot
<v Speaker 3>dogs a lot lately. I've really been craving one.
<v Speaker 4>You know, you're a good American. Yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And instead of going up through a kiosk and having
<v Speaker 3>to pick it up from a window, what if you
<v Speaker 3>want up to a vending machine at Costco? You just
<v Speaker 3>put on a dollar fifty, uh, dispenses your drink and
<v Speaker 3>then just bo, it just comes down a little tube,
<v Speaker 3>your crack walk out like you're eating like a slim gym.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah. You know, I'm saying it. If it could happen,
<v Speaker 4>it would be terrible, But it can't happen. About how
<v Speaker 4>yeah the hot dog gets. The hot dog gets does
<v Speaker 4>not concern himself with how Mike Manatti, I was gonna say,
<v Speaker 4>the hot dog itself is a is an abomination of
<v Speaker 4>genetic engineering and awful practices.
<v Speaker 2>And that's delicious exactly.
<v Speaker 6>In no way would like it being glow stick adjacent
<v Speaker 6>changed the sort of like toxicity of it.
<v Speaker 4>I feel they said they glow normally healthy. He's my favorite.
<v Speaker 2>New sun, New sun in the house.
<v Speaker 3>You know, here's the thing cracking it like a gloss
<v Speaker 3>to I feel like that would break it in half.
<v Speaker 3>I'm thinking like either like the way the confetti cannons
<v Speaker 3>or like when you open up a thing of like
<v Speaker 3>dough for Simon rolls like a little twists.
<v Speaker 6>You know, like there are you can there are like
<v Speaker 6>edible instant hot things, like there's a wey Yeah, no,
<v Speaker 6>there is.
<v Speaker 2>If you go to some Asian grocery stores, instead of
<v Speaker 2>like instant noodles, they will have like kind of like
<v Speaker 2>a d i y hot pot thing where you just
<v Speaker 2>put some you just crack open the little silica gel
<v Speaker 2>looking thing and then we'll start heating it up.
<v Speaker 4>It's crazy, right.
<v Speaker 1>Then there's like potassium and stuff like that's what Mr
<v Speaker 1>e s where it's like just add water and then
<v Speaker 1>sang and put potassium in there, and I can't remember
<v Speaker 1>something happened, So I.
<v Speaker 6>Think it would have to be in some sort of
<v Speaker 6>plastic encasement. I don't think you could do it with
<v Speaker 6>like the hot dog itself. Sure, right in the way
<v Speaker 6>that like handwarmers work right where these two things mixing.
<v Speaker 6>Uh so, maybe it's like in the outer sort.
<v Speaker 4>Of pocket of it are fully cooked. It just needs
<v Speaker 4>to be heated a bit on the vending machine. Even
<v Speaker 4>what about the we have technology Die Hard with a Vengeance.
<v Speaker 3>Remember there's the like the twos that if they touch
<v Speaker 3>each other like tiny little bits of it will cause
<v Speaker 3>like a tiny.
<v Speaker 4>Like like what if we just put those.
<v Speaker 2>We're talking talking about those.
<v Speaker 1>Things all the time, and that is.
<v Speaker 4>Well, what what if dollars were candy?
<v Speaker 5>Right?
<v Speaker 1>I mean, that's just not the world we live in.
<v Speaker 1>We do weat potassium. Potassium does heat that you've seen
<v Speaker 1>Die Hard three and you're like, yep.
<v Speaker 6>Put that in my mouth like that, I mean, make
<v Speaker 6>it save right, But even when they even when the
<v Speaker 6>clip the example.
<v Speaker 3>Remember in the beginning with you just got to make
<v Speaker 3>it smaller like instead of like if that's like twenty atoms,
<v Speaker 3>make it like two atoms.
<v Speaker 2>Got it? Man? If that makes sense? I mean now
<v Speaker 2>I just want a hot dog every So, like I
<v Speaker 2>started that feeling, I started to count calories and y'all
<v Speaker 2>know there's hella calories and fucking everything.
<v Speaker 4>Oh once you start counting everything, like using lose it Jan.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, it's great app like tracking my macros and
<v Speaker 2>ship how many how many calories? And a hot dog?
<v Speaker 2>Hot dog? I bet like five hundred, but I would
<v Speaker 2>get fifty three.
<v Speaker 1>Fifty's like if you start putting ketchup and stuff on there.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's my problem is like I'm not I'm never
<v Speaker 4>considering I like in my mind, sauces don't count, and
<v Speaker 4>they definitely count, like.
<v Speaker 3>Ranch from McDonald's that's probably like one hundred right there.
<v Speaker 2>You know, tell that the salad.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I do.
<v Speaker 1>I do appreciate how serious Dan is about measuring things.
<v Speaker 1>Who saying like two atoms instead of twelve. When he
<v Speaker 1>was making us drinks at Ben Hanson's house, he demanded
<v Speaker 1>to have like a measuring cup for mixing drinks. I'm like, day,
<v Speaker 1>you could just do like one second he goes one
<v Speaker 1>ounce and you laughed at me like that was a
<v Speaker 1>crazy idea. But that's how every bartender does it.
<v Speaker 3>And I'm like, but I'm not a I need like
<v Speaker 3>that's the thing that's a skill like a bartender does.
<v Speaker 3>I'm not as talented as a bartender doing.
<v Speaker 1>It for a while now, so it's like like I
<v Speaker 1>was like, did you do you feel like you're begin
<v Speaker 1>to get a feel for it? Like or do you
<v Speaker 1>just like the act of measuring things?
<v Speaker 2>Cause I like that.
<v Speaker 4>I don't like to be I don't like to make
<v Speaker 4>it loose.
<v Speaker 3>If there's like if I need two point five ounces
<v Speaker 3>or something I want two point five ounces, I'm the
<v Speaker 3>opposite there.
<v Speaker 4>I hate measuring. I like to cook and I will
<v Speaker 4>almost never want to measure anything. I just kind of
<v Speaker 4>do it by feel or I'll taste it and likes.
<v Speaker 4>That's fun to me. It's yeah, yeah, it's it's an
<v Speaker 4>r like and usually for things you could get away
<v Speaker 4>with that. If it's like baking and it's like very
<v Speaker 4>specific ratios.
<v Speaker 2>That needs to be baking different.
<v Speaker 4>That's if I'm like, if you're making like a stew,
<v Speaker 4>like whatever, just throw shit in there. It'll be fine.
<v Speaker 4>We did get one more super chat in here from
<v Speaker 4>Aggy three three three. Would did get top bunk since
<v Speaker 4>he was there first, or Mike since he's older. I
<v Speaker 4>don't want the top bunk. It's scary and I don't
<v Speaker 4>want you listen. Whenever I think about me as a
<v Speaker 4>grown man sleeping in a top bunk. All I see
<v Speaker 4>is it stepped and crushing whoever's underneath.
<v Speaker 2>Yea, the way to go.
<v Speaker 3>I was always like in college and stuff in the
<v Speaker 3>dorms of top bunk all the time.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, but I'm twenty pounds. You get to climb the
<v Speaker 4>fun ladder every night. It's great. My kid does have
<v Speaker 4>a slide on her top bunk bed. Yeah, ooh that's cool.
<v Speaker 4>That's cool.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think, uh, Mikey on the bottom bunk.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, okay, I was our bottom. We did have a
<v Speaker 4>bunk bed. I don't even know why because nobody really
<v Speaker 4>used the top bunk there, so uh and I just
<v Speaker 4>remember the boards were cracked on the top bunks and
<v Speaker 4>want anymore good like under it. I would just kind
<v Speaker 4>of stare at the crack the cracked boards while I slept.
<v Speaker 4>I never really was too concerned about it for some reason.
<v Speaker 4>Then we bounce on the top bunk like idiots.
<v Speaker 1>That's the track. Yeah, there's a lot.
<v Speaker 2>There's always like a couple of friends from my child
<v Speaker 2>who had bunk beds, but no one on the top bunk.
<v Speaker 2>And it's like, is this just for like sleepovers?
<v Speaker 3>Is that I had my younger brother I had that
<v Speaker 3>in my room because it was like the top bunk
<v Speaker 3>is where I would sleep and the bottom one folded
<v Speaker 3>into a food like a couch. I would sit on
<v Speaker 3>the bottom to play video games, and I would sleep
<v Speaker 3>on the top one.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, the bottom bunks for nap, and we know that
<v Speaker 2>top bunks is for sleep and.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, hey backward to stip to like sleepovers.
<v Speaker 2>And he's there now yep.
<v Speaker 4>Interesting when did that start?
<v Speaker 2>That started around like eight nine asking about it.
<v Speaker 4>Because I started doing sleepovers really young. I feel like
<v Speaker 4>like almost like five or six, and I feel like
<v Speaker 4>it's completely different. Are doing anymore? Yeah?
<v Speaker 6>They They started out really bad because you know, I'd
<v Speaker 6>be like, oh boy, this is going to be a
<v Speaker 6>terrible night of sleep because these two assholes are just
<v Speaker 6>going to be up to like one am making fart noise.
<v Speaker 6>Hell ya, Okay, he's getting cool and yeah, seriously stock rising.
<v Speaker 6>Now it's more normal. Now they're just like in you
<v Speaker 6>know that playroom we have until like you know, midnight
<v Speaker 6>and then they.
<v Speaker 4>Just go to bed.
<v Speaker 2>So it's way more management.
<v Speaker 3>Mine was always just yeah, you go to Blockbuster, pick
<v Speaker 3>a game or two out, get a bunch of.
<v Speaker 4>Candy, and just yeah, that's the whole night. Yeah, usually
<v Speaker 4>a movie was evolved, for sure. Yeah, just a lot
<v Speaker 4>of movies they still asso shit with. Like I saw
<v Speaker 4>that movie for the first time. I had a sleepover,
<v Speaker 4>like Spaceballs. Spaceballs is still Will Hanlin's house when I was,
<v Speaker 4>you know, seven, at the sleepover. Mind's event.
<v Speaker 3>Horizon was one, and it's scared of the shit because
<v Speaker 3>I was in the woods too, and the end not
<v Speaker 3>sleeping all after that.
<v Speaker 4>God, I remember being at Will Hanlon's house when The
<v Speaker 4>Triosa Horror was new with the Aliens impersonating Bob Dolan
<v Speaker 4>Bill Clinton. I was like, this is the greatest piece
<v Speaker 4>of entertainment I'd ever seen in my life.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, probably the world. My friend Greg had Mario Paint.
<v Speaker 1>That's where REALI was playing around making songs over there.
<v Speaker 1>It's the only place so I ever played Mario Paint.
<v Speaker 1>And that's also where I first saw a gun. I
<v Speaker 1>was like, Okay, instant that I have kids, I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>I gotta find out if the people want cinema to
<v Speaker 1>like if they.
<v Speaker 4>Have a gun. Yeah, I figure, now, yeah, yeah it is.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's it's definitely. The vibes are different now for sure.
<v Speaker 6>I think I just remember my first sleep. But maybe
<v Speaker 6>it was like fourth grade and the the dad showed
<v Speaker 6>the five of us animal house.
<v Speaker 2>Oh wow, yeah, hell yeah, awesome.
<v Speaker 1>I had that's what it was like then, That's what
<v Speaker 1>it was.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And I was like probably ten, and I would stay
<v Speaker 3>over my friend Larry's house and he had his brother,
<v Speaker 3>Heath was sixteen, and would I would peek in his
<v Speaker 3>room and every inch of the floor or not the floor,
<v Speaker 3>the walls and the ceiling were just like fold outs
<v Speaker 3>and posters of just naked women, and I'd be like, man,
<v Speaker 3>this is the coolest family.
<v Speaker 2>Like, I just don't know.
<v Speaker 4>Why didn't I like this?
<v Speaker 2>This is a shame that I have such a Maybe
<v Speaker 2>that's weird for sixteen year old A little, a little,
<v Speaker 2>all right, Mike any more? Super Chets looks like we
<v Speaker 2>are good there. Thank you so much, everybody, Thank thank
<v Speaker 2>you everyone. And that about does it for the show boys.

<v Speaker 3>Two of us become millionaires. We had to figure out
<v Speaker 3>who becomes the real millionaire, so they definitely off at
<v Speaker 3>that pointe over time. But sun and death, Yeah, important distinction.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
