We'll talk about that. In fact, let me start there with the combine. You got players who are going to be arriving today or yesterday. Coaches and GMS are still talking. The media gets an opportunity. This is this is sort of the woodstock of you know, off season where you get local reporters. Everybody gets a chance, and it's just, you know, a massive media there to be able to ask coaches in GMS questions, and then of course the players are going to be there at the combine. And you know, when you look at college football, it's amazing. I looked at Mel Kuiper's latest mock draft, and you go, man, Ohio State had more talent than anybody else in the country, at least according to Mells draft. So he's got Caleb Downs, a safety, going number two to the Jets. I think he's got five Ohio State players who could go in the top fifteen. Carnell Tait is a wide receiver, he could be going. Sonny Styles a linebacker, he could be going. They got an offensive lineman who could be going first round. And what did Ohio State have to show for this? I'm looking at the schools that are most represented at Combine Texas A and m thirteen players, Alabama twelve, Ohio State eleven, LSU eleven, Georgia ten, Oklahoma ten, Miami ten, Clemson nine, Indiana nine. And that's the unique part of this is you can have individual talent, but a team will carry you through the playoffs. And you saw that with the Indiana Hoosiers winning the national title. Because blue chain depth a premium positions great. A few programs can match the ceiling. But Ohio State didn't win the Big Ten, got man handled by Miami in the playoffs. But they're still sending eleven players to the Combine and you're probably going to have five of those players drafted in the first round. Last year, the spike was Will Campbell, the former LSU offensive lineman. I think he was taking f worth overall, but at the combine his arms measured Sit down, if you're ready to hear this, thirty two and five eighth inches.

So as we're unveiling this and the smallest hands and seatans ready to go al, it's obviously me. I know that I have tiny hands. I'm aware. And then all of a sudden, Marvin as the smallest hands. Yes, Mark, I knew it was bad. When we measured the hands back with Ray. Your Ray just kind of looked at me, Oh, not as big as I thought. So arm length is going to be a big deal and we'll be all over that, you know, once the results come rolling in here, I'm still I'm focusing on hand size here. Uh of course that yeah, I know, PAULI said, you're you know, you got to get up, you know, caught up with Uh, you're in the dark ages here. I still care about the hand size. And then here's another thing. Why don't we measure fingers not your hand size? Because if I'm a quarterback, I got to put my fingers around a football. Because you can have a big palm. What do you have against palms? What do you have against palms? Hey? When I was in Panama. When I was in Panama, I Palm Sunday went got my you know, I went to Salo and I got my ashes down there in Palo Yeah, I walked into a church there got the ashes.

So it's been a two way street of support and reminders of what got us to where we are here today.

Speaker 2: Okay, Now, he wasn't asked would you like to have Aj Brown on the Patriots, because then if he answers that and says of course, that would probably be viewed as tampering. But to have a relationship where you're texting another player, and I don't know how many coaches do this with players who played for them, or you just become friendly with somebody, but here's AJ Brown who has made no secret of the fact that he probably would like to play someplace else, And all of a sudden, you ask Mike Rabel about your relationship with AJ Brown. Now, I don't know if anybody followed up and said, hey, would you be open to trading for AJ Brown? And you can't answer that. It's like, you know, coaches are and gms are asked about Max Crosby. Well, you can't say anything about it because that would be tampering. But that's why they're all gathered here. Well for other reasons, but there's transactions that are going to be happening because of conversations that are happening at the combine because you have everybody there. So if a GM goes, hey, once you come over to this room and let's talk. I want to talk to you about a couple of things there, and you could hopefully do that in privacy and maybe hammer out something. So maybe Max Crosby gets moved with a conversation. Although there were two reports yesterday saying the Raiders aren't going to move on from Max Crosby, I would only because I need a whole lot of help and I don't think we're going to be good when Max Crosby is playing at a peak level, and that's the next two years. He's twenty eight, and you could probably get you a pretty good haul for Max Crosby. The Eagles with Aj Brown, do I think he's playing someplace else? I'd certainly get that feeling. If I'm Buffalo, I would be interested. Well, there's a lot of teams that would be interested. Patriots could certainly use a talent like AJ Brown. I just don't know why he's unhappy with the Eagles. If you won a Super Bowl and he didn't seem like that made him happy. The number of targets that you get you're still the go to wide receiver there, but just felt like there's a disconnect between him and coach him and or quarterback, and plus he seems to be a different kind of guy. But you just signed a contract extension. I think the previous year I would have thought that, you know, you're going to play the next three or four years there the Texans. The Texans basically said, are you kidding me? Their GM met with the media at the combine. We're not trading c. J. Stroud. I didn't think you'd be trading him. I'd be curious if you're signing him to a long term deal or are you going to make him prove it this next year Because normally when you have your franchise quarterback, you know by year three, you know, but you kind of have to all right, I'm gonna give you that contract because I'm going to give it to you early because it's gonna go up even higher if we wait another year or two years. But Miami thought they had their franchise quarterback in Tua, and I kept saying, do not extend him. Arizona, I said, do not extend Kyler Murray. I gotta have I gotta see more and we saw what happened with the Dolphins. They got ninety nine million dollars a cap hit. And I don't know what you do with him Arizona, with Kyler Murray, I don't know what you do with him. Is anybody gonna trade for those guys? You just release them. But that's where you get to that third year and you go, all right, we found our guy. There was nothing that suggested that Tua and Kyler and I view them kind of sick similarly, that they can be good quarterbacks. I think Kyler could be great. I just don't know if he wants to be great. And you know that is a big issue. You get paid. Hey, I'm good, I can still play, But do you want to be great? Because I think he should be a Lamar Jackson kind of player, you know, a right handed Michael Vick like he puts pressure on the defense and gives you a weapon. Very few players in the league half with Tua doesn't have a strong arm. I think he can be accurate, but you know, there was a health concerns and you know, just didn't think he had a strong enough arm. You know, he had wide receivers that hey, that was a seventy five yard touchdown. How far did he throw it? Seven yards? And then they took it sixty eight yards. You know, when you have two of the fastest guys in the league, you can have a quarterback like that. But now you're on the hook. But you didn't need to be. But you know, Buffalo did this, the Ravens, Mahomes with the Chiefs Herbert. We've seen quarterbacks get taken care of after three years. We see j Stroud, I'm not giving you two hundred and fifty million dollars, prove it, go out there and play again. But also it's incumbent upon the Texans to give him the tools in the offensive line. They had some injuries. Joe Mixon was out to see if like, what kind of quarterback is he because we've seen that oh my gosh, and then we've seen the oh my gosh.

Speaker 6: Yes, Pauling, like you said, a number of guys did get it after the third season. Brock Purdy, after his third proseason, got the big contract. His third season, he was six and nine as a starter, twenty touchdowns, twelve picks. But that was the year they gave it to it. I know, Josh Allen obviously, Deshaun Watson got it after his third year, got a big contract. Jared Goff got it.

Speaker 2: The Browns said that their quarterbacking situation it's open competition, and front office said, you know, why wouldn't it be. Historically it's been an open competition. It feels like, you know, if Deshaun Watson's healthy, I put him in. I mean, you've already taken the pr hit because you signed the guy and everything that happened off the field. If he's your best option and you've got a couple of first round draft picks, like the Browns could really be a quality team. They had a good draft, They've had a couple of good drafts, and all of a sudden, if you fortify the offense, the defense is pretty good and maybe, you know, maybe Baltimore isn't as good, or Cincinnati's not as good, Pittsburgh's not as good, so maybe you know, granted they're over under a six and a half, but this is before the draft, before we find out what they're going to do with their quarterbacking situation. But I still think Malik Willis is the big target. If I'm looking at a quarterback and I can get him for thirty million dollars, and I'm the Minnesota Vikings. I say to Malik Willis, come on in here you go, job's yours. Well the Steelers Now all of a sudden, I'm not year to year. You know, this may last one more year with Aaron Rodgers. You still got to get your quarterback for the future. And if I could get Malik Willis, who I think is twenty seven, and I can pay him three years, one hundred million dollars. And look, I am all in on Malik Willis, but I've been all in on Justin Fields as well, So damn it, he's going to prove that he can play in the NFL. It might be the UFL that he's going to play, but Malik Willis, I think would be a really valuable upgrade for them. I don't want to see him go to Arizona. Uh. I don't want to see him go to Miami. But he's going to go where he can start. But I'm just saying I want to I want to see him succeed. And I you know, he didn't get a long shelf life in Tennessee because they were like, no, we've seen enough. Now we're moving on what I saw in Green Bay when he filled in for Jordan Love. I'm like, Hey, that guy could be a starter in the league. Yeah, where do you think Malik Willis ends up? Do you have any thoughts on that? Read? On that hm stealer? Are we playing the game?
