Now Here's Matt Jones quarterback. 00:01:05 Speaker 2: I remember two ks R Radio if I'm nine, twenty two eighty seven. 00:01:10 Speaker 5: A lot of strong reactions to that last segment. We'll just, uh, what's it? 00:01:14 Speaker 3: The best call you've ever had? Not that wasn't the call of the day. 00:01:18 Speaker 5: But that's all right. 00:01:19 Speaker 2: You know, people, it's I'm amazing how many people call and say they're band directors yelled at him. Really, I have a lot of people going mad. I was in a very competitive high school band. Our director would yell at us constantly. If we played the wrong note, he would scream at us. It was like the movie with what's the name of that movie with the drum Are you rushing? 00:01:40 Speaker 6: Or are you draggon? 00:01:41 Speaker 2: What is what's the name they had? Jd It's one word? JK Rowling? Or what what's the name? You know that Harry Potter. What's the guy? He's the ball guy? 00:01:51 Speaker 6: Oh my goodness, I've seen this movie. 00:01:53 Speaker 4: You know the drummer movie drum line. 00:01:55 Speaker 3: That's not the drummer. 00:01:58 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a bad drummer's J k Rowling? 00:02:01 Speaker 7: Right? 00:02:03 Speaker 5: What's movie? 00:02:04 Speaker 2: He's like, Yeah, he's a great great whip. 00:02:10 Speaker 3: That is it? 00:02:11 Speaker 5: This guy just said the drummer movie. But it's whiplast. Yeah that's right. 00:02:14 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I guess so I didn't realize people. Uh uh the band thing. One woman writes, I'm tougher than my husband. If you if a coach yelled at my husband, my husband would cry. I'd smack the coach right in the face. 00:02:26 Speaker 6: But there's a lot of that. 00:02:29 Speaker 5: That's my whiskey thief text of the day. These women don't need they don't need you. They got it. 00:02:35 Speaker 3: That's why the colera he may not know a whole lot of women from the six o six. They're a lot tougher than most of the men. 00:02:40 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:02:40 Speaker 2: Well, uh that was quite I didn't see any of this going in that dress. Did you watch the World series? 00:02:47 Speaker 3: Loved it? I watched it. It was a great game. I've watched most of Everything's. 00:02:51 Speaker 5: That guy not cover? 00:02:52 Speaker 2: First? I mean, Garret is like one of the best players. How does he not cover? Is it just a brain fart? Like you just like in the moment, don't think about it. 00:03:00 Speaker 3: Yeah you do. I think you're even late in the game. They you know, had two pickoff attempts at first base. The guy did the third. We automatically get second, it's these mental lapses. 00:03:09 Speaker 2: Aaron Judges dropped, like what happened? 00:03:12 Speaker 6: Comedy of errors for a team with their back against the wall in the World Series, I was happy for the Dodgers, for Freddie Freeman, for a guy Lonnie we lost last week, and then Walker Bueller coming in to end. 00:03:23 Speaker 2: It was the first of all price two big things. I'm glad you said that. First of all, Lonnie Dimmery was a lifelong Dodgers fan, passed passed away just a couple of weeks ago. He started liking them in Brooklyn. He did help of Jackie Robinson. He liked him because of Jackie Robinson. And he passes away and then they win. So I was thinking about Lonnie. He's gotta be happy up in heaven watching and then listen, I love a little Kentucky Louisville rivalry. 00:03:49 Speaker 8: I like it. 00:03:50 Speaker 2: You know, they they they they are arrivals. And not only that, I want him to lose every game. With that said, the World Series ended with a dude from Lexington pitching to a dude catching from Louisville. 00:04:02 Speaker 5: That's kind of cool, right, That's kind of cool. 00:04:04 Speaker 2: Dude from Lexington throws a strike to a dude from Louisville. Uh, to win the to win the World Series. 00:04:11 Speaker 5: That's kind of neat. 00:04:11 Speaker 3: I love that what happened. I mean Walker Bieler's Eastern Little League Ecton Park right over here on the other side of Kroger Field, and Will Smith is from Kentucky Country Day High School and they end up as the pitcher and the catcher for the final out of the World Series. 00:04:27 Speaker 2: How cool? 00:04:28 Speaker 7: Is that? 00:04:28 Speaker 5: Very cool? I thought that was really really neat. Where do did Will Smith play at Louisville? 00:04:32 Speaker 3: Yes? He did, Okay, so first round draft pick? 00:04:35 Speaker 5: Yeah, So anyway, that was that was really really neat. 00:04:39 Speaker 2: It was a good World Series and only five games, but still I think it was good for record ratings. 00:04:43 Speaker 3: Yes, because it was the Yankees and the Dodgers. 00:04:46 Speaker 5: Yankees and the Dodgers. 00:04:47 Speaker 2: You want to have the For all the talk about whatever Yankees Dodgers, that's still kind of a cool thing. We didn't really talk about the guy, the fan that reached into the Dodgers up. He was banned from Game five of the World Series and the but he has season tickets there right on the line, and the Yankees are going to decide whether or not they let him back in. Do you think they should let the guys shan him back in? Who reached into Mookie bets glove? Those two dudes. 00:05:16 Speaker 4: No, I mean, that wasn't just an accident. He went all in on it, and his buddy tried to grab uh, Mookie bets other arm and pull him up into the stand. So no, both those guys, you're out of there. 00:05:25 Speaker 2: He said, I was protecting my territory. He was basically like, as a Yankees fan, it was my duty to keep Mookie Betts from catching that. Do you do you agree with what he said? 00:05:34 Speaker 6: We've always talked about if it comes our way, we got a d up for the team, like play defense. 00:05:39 Speaker 2: No, you don't. 00:05:40 Speaker 6: Your hot dog can drink your beer and watch. 00:05:42 Speaker 4: It's not a game. You don't get to catch the ball on they're out. 00:05:46 Speaker 6: You know, not to overreact, but if he had, like snap Mookie's wrists or something, you cannot I can't believe ESPN is kind of celebrating him a little bit because you cannot encourage him. 00:05:56 Speaker 2: Kind of celebrated him in the moment that they can't play by play guy and John Smolts quickly shot him down. But the play by play guy was kind of like, oh my dudes, you know you can't grab a player, And of course didn't surprise you that he was Gronk's high school friend. 00:06:11 Speaker 3: Oh, I didn't see that part of the story. 00:06:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, so Gronk was on some television show. This tells you how much Gronk prepares to go on TV. Gronk was on a television show yesterday and they were like, hey, Gronk, what do you think about this thing that happened in New York? And he's watching. He goes, wait a minute, this first I've ever seen it. I went to high school with that dude. 00:06:29 Speaker 7: He was like, that dude's crazy. 00:06:31 Speaker 6: He's like, that's exactly what I would expect him to do. That dude's wild. 00:06:35 Speaker 2: First of all, clearly he just goes on TV and they're like, just have at it. But secondly ended up going to high school with the guy. 00:06:42 Speaker 3: You know those guys knew. You know the rules. You can't interfere with a ball in play. You can't sure grab an opposing player. So I would not I would take his season tickets away, maybe sit him up in the upper deck if he wants to take But you cannot let him sit back in that spot again. 00:06:58 Speaker 2: You can't. 00:06:58 Speaker 6: Yeah, he showed no remorse. 00:06:59 Speaker 2: He would do it again. 00:07:01 Speaker 5: I show no remorse whatsoever at all. 00:07:04 Speaker 2: If I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven before I go to the phones quickly, Bronnie scored his first points last night? 00:07:10 Speaker 5: Do you care? 00:07:12 Speaker 3: I got him a little bit, and I'm just because, like it's just a cool story that dad and son get to play a little bit. But okay, you got your photo off, you got your two points, get him knocked down, out, get out. 00:07:22 Speaker 2: Yeah, let's just do a little UK Rookies update. Dillingham has n't played, like just not play. 00:07:28 Speaker 5: Is he hurt? 00:07:28 Speaker 2: Is there something going on? He's had them, He's just not They're not putting him in. Reeves got sent to the G League. Yeah, played a couple of games, got sent to the G League. That's normal. I think they kind of said that was gonna happen. Probably the surprise is that Reed Shepherd hasn't played quite as much as people thought. I mean, he's like four for twelve, but he's getting like eight minutes a game. He played a lot in the first game, but then less as it goes. They got a ton of players. I assume his injuries and stuff happened. Reid, I'll get in more, but a little slower start for our UK rookies. 00:07:59 Speaker 7: Yeah. 00:07:59 Speaker 6: I think the Carl trade where they ended up getting Dante Divino, I think that hurt Rob a little bit. I think it took a lot of his minutes. Uh, because he's playing well for the Bucks Reid. I don't know that rosters well and haven't watched to know what's keeping him out. 00:08:14 Speaker 5: But I still have sing goon dude. 00:08:17 Speaker 6: Yeah, I still We're still gonna see plenty of Reid as the year goes on. 00:08:20 Speaker 2: They really Yeah, he's uh, you know, we'll see with all of them. I think they'll all end up playing some as the year goes on. But uh, Dalley, him not getting in at all, I will say, has surprised me a little bit. 00:08:31 Speaker 5: I thought he'd at least get somebody. 00:08:33 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the biggest surprise to me, because he played so well, you know in their Summer League game, like, well, you're gonna get him on the floor a little bit, given a little bit of run. 00:08:39 Speaker 4: Who's up next, Shit, let's go to Travis. 00:08:41 Speaker 5: Travis. 00:08:42 Speaker 9: Go ahead, Travis, Hey, Matt, you heard from retired ref which was an awful take. By the way, I'm retired principal, so I'm dealt with these these coaching this year. You know, in the past, I have always been adamant that the coach is a higher professional, just like any other teacher or employee in our building. You and I agree wholeheartedly on this. I have said many many times, we would not allow that from a math teacher, from a science teacher. We would not allow a custodian to talk to a kid like that. We would allow a lunch room worker to talk to a kid like that, or a group of kids, and it's just completely unacceptable in you know, in a high school setting. Now, I could live with maybe you know, meeting with the teacher or the coach and saying, you know, this is unacceptable, and the futures that came out happen again, and if things improved, you know, I don't think he has to be fired, you know, for that one time. But it's just it's their coaches are no different than any other employee in the district. That is unacceptable in a setting like that. 00:09:54 Speaker 5: I'm with you. 00:09:55 Speaker 2: I appreciate the call, and I don't and I feel like. 00:10:00 Speaker 5: You don't listen. 00:10:00 Speaker 2: All right, So let's take a professional environment, Like, do I think that people can get angry and yell at each other in a professional environment? 00:10:10 Speaker 7: Yes? 00:10:11 Speaker 5: Do I think that, Like, you know, can it happen? Yes? 00:10:14 Speaker 2: Should it? 00:10:15 Speaker 7: Know? 00:10:16 Speaker 5: If it's regular? I think you can't do that. 00:10:19 Speaker 2: And I know that's changed, but I don't think that's the worst thing in the world that it's changed, right, Like, the problem for me is not so much the yelling, because I've yelled. The problem is the power discrepancy. It's somebody with all the power screaming at somebody without the without the power, and I just don't. I know, this is what it's always been like. But if you just take it outside of the world, there is nowhere else on earth we let people treat each other like we let coaches treat not just players, but refs, the media. Coaches are like the only people on earth that you're allowed to be the biggest obnoxious person in the world, and everyone's just supposed to take. 00:11:07 Speaker 3: It because there's the word coach in front of your name. Yeah, I mean, you're just you can't, like, you can't do that, like you said, you do it in the corporate world. 00:11:16 Speaker 2: You go, you get sit the HRT world. Unless you're the CEO, you're fired. And even with the CEO you might get in trouble. Right like that. You you just can't do that. 00:11:27 Speaker 6: I hear you when you lay it out like that. It does sound crazy, but it's our society. We've had a long time. I mean, coaches have been cussing and yelling since we've had sports. 00:11:36 Speaker 2: One person rites, Matt And you think part of it is because people like the presidents now cuss. Yeah, I think that's part of it. Not just now Trump's the worst defender, but Biden cusses, Walls cusses. When did that start happen? Like when I you know, people didn't like presidents and didn't used to cuss. 00:11:56 Speaker 3: You couldn't cuss on TV. You couldn't cuss on songs on the rate. Now you can't turn on a show on. 00:12:02 Speaker 2: Trump said the F word once, but the S word A lot of them say like, and they'll just say it like it's normal. That didn't use It didn't used to. 00:12:11 Speaker 3: Be like that. 00:12:12 Speaker 2: No, And I'm not a puritan, don't get me wrong. I don't care what people do, but I do think, like when you're in a setting like we can't cuss on here, why should the rules for random radio host be harder than what the president should do? 00:12:30 Speaker 6: You know, I know when you say it all that, it all makes sense. It's just the world we live in. 00:12:34 Speaker 5: Though. 00:12:34 Speaker 2: Yeah, I know it's next weird answer, But cam, Cam, go ahead, Cam, what's up? 00:12:41 Speaker 7: Guys? 00:12:41 Speaker 10: I am running out of time here on my lunch break at school, but I just want to talk to you guys. Man, these kids nowadays, they are I'm only thirty three, but they are a lot different even from when I was in high school, just you know, fifteen to twenty years. 00:12:57 Speaker 2: Ago, meaning like what. 00:13:01 Speaker 10: And so my dad, he was in the military. He was a coach, very hard nos man. A lot of my coaches from sports were similar to him. But I noticed when I was in high school, like I graduated in two thousand and eight, I could see the shift when I was in high school of kids not being able to accept that type of hard nosed coaching. Which is strange that I could see that, but I saw it up and when I got into college, thought in the underclassmen, and it just slowly has gotten worse over the last decade. 00:13:31 Speaker 5: But go ahead. 00:13:36 Speaker 7: To marry. Like being hard, but. 00:13:39 Speaker 10: Like not being as loud because they will just immediately shut down. So you have to like blend being assertive and not be as aggressive. It's really weird, man. It's you kind of feel like a little mental sometimes because you want to yell, but you like to look like you're in control. 00:14:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I get I appreciate it. And that's another thing. I don't think yelling. I think that's a good point by him. I appreciate you. I don't think yelling is as effective now, not even close, because I think like when you were a kid, if somebody yelled at you, it either scared you or maybe motivated you. 00:14:17 Speaker 3: Would say people, yes, sir. 00:14:18 Speaker 5: Yeah, A lot of people now would be like, well blank you I. 00:14:22 Speaker 3: Thought my middle name was damn it because all I heard was Ryan, Dammit, Ryan, dammit. 00:14:27 Speaker 5: You thought your middle name was damn it? Yep, all right, I remember. I mean you say if you said damn like you that that was bad. 00:14:34 Speaker 3: You couldn't say it on the radio. 00:14:35 Speaker 2: There's still a couple of words that I now say that I when my mom's around. 00:14:40 Speaker 5: I feel bad. 00:14:41 Speaker 3: Yeah, like that's that respect you feel for her. 00:14:45 Speaker 2: My mom doesn't like when I say sucks like she she will. I can see on her face. She doesn't like him to say. 00:14:52 Speaker 6: That I had a seventh grade teacher. Now, he wouldn't do it to many people. He would do it to me, usually because I was cutting up, but he would custom me. But it was we had a great relationship. Maybe it's with certain kids. Maybe like I can still hear some of the things he'd do and I'd smile and get back to my work. Didn't bother me at all. But you know, maybe people just handle it differently. 00:15:10 Speaker 2: UK Federal Credit Union is the official credit union the University of Kentucky. We'll take a break and be right back SKSR. Welcome back, Turkey Sports Radio. If I had nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven four five two five four uh one person rights, Matt. I think I've heard you yell at Ryan. Shouldn't you heed your own advice? Yes, I I've gotten in trouble for yelling at Ryan, and I shouldn't yell at him. I always end up apologizing because it's like not it's not appropriate, and I don't think I've done that in a while. But but yeah, one time when I yelled at Ryan, I got in trouble and I should you shouldn't like you shouldn't do that. 00:16:20 Speaker 3: You always apologize. We're brothers. It happens. Sometimes it's different with you. 00:16:25 Speaker 2: Yeah, of course you shouldn't. 00:16:26 Speaker 5: It's it's acceptable. 00:16:30 Speaker 4: Rationalization here Ryan, he's a tough guy. 00:16:33 Speaker 5: Can no. 00:16:34 Speaker 2: No, I mean you shouldn't do it like you. I think there's a. 00:16:39 Speaker 5: People shouldn't do that. I screw up as much as anybody. 00:16:42 Speaker 2: So what are your thoughts? People are going to screw up? The question is do you accept responsibility? You act like you didn't do anything wrong. 00:16:48 Speaker 3: Right, I tell my boys all the time, everybody makes. 00:16:50 Speaker 5: Me miss Everybody's gonna make mistakes. 00:16:52 Speaker 2: My thing is when you make a mistake, can you apologize and accept responsibility. What I don't like are people who will never apologize and never responsibility. 00:17:01 Speaker 5: That to me is because everybody's gonna mess. 00:17:03 Speaker 3: Up that happens, apologize except responsibility, and then just don't make that same mistake again. 00:17:07 Speaker 2: Did you see what the Vanderbilt coach did, Shannon, your new basketball coach Byington? 00:17:13 Speaker 5: What's his name? 00:17:14 Speaker 4: I think it's I don't even I've even heard his name pronounced. It looks like Byington to me. 00:17:18 Speaker 2: So whoever, Vandy has a basketball coach now named Byington, which I didn't even know was a name mark, but Byington coach. Byington has said that he on the roster has listed every player for Vanderbilt as a point guard because he said, I want all of our players playing like point guards. So he has seven footers their point guard, the six to one people their point guard. Everyone on the roster, Drew is a point guard because he says we're gonna all play like point guards. 00:17:48 Speaker 7: Do you like that? 00:17:50 Speaker 6: I had a good laugh at at yesterday because I mean, if you go to Vanderbilt's official website and their official roster, it's not like something he said a press conference. The game notes have them listed all his point guards. It's a little gimmicky, but I guess if you're Vandy, I mean it is a point guard. 00:18:09 Speaker 4: Everybody's point Guard's almost like it's almost like a team that all shoots three pointers. 00:18:13 Speaker 2: You know, Yeah, it's almost like a cheesy group though it feels like a very bandying let's all take our nerdy glasses out and be point guards. 00:18:23 Speaker 6: Four years ago, when Tom Crean was still at Georgia, he listed everybody as a basketball player. I don't know if y'all ender that that's good a team, a team that included Anthony Edwards and Savir Wheeler. 00:18:35 Speaker 5: So you shan'ton what your coach to be compared to Tom Crean. 00:18:38 Speaker 4: No that you guys comparing him to Tom Crean. But I mean a team that can shoot three point shots and all make that's different. 00:18:45 Speaker 5: I mean people can shoot threes that aren't point guards. 00:18:47 Speaker 4: Well, if you're a center, you're playing underneath the basket. 00:18:49 Speaker 2: If you're a five, okay, Cal, A lot ofers are shoot. 00:18:53 Speaker 4: Now point guard, then you're if you're a. 00:18:55 Speaker 2: Good So everybody's either a point guard if you're shooting, if you're shooting threes, Yeah, you're a point guard. 00:19:00 Speaker 5: All right. Well, it sounds like he's bought into the babe, I'm buying an end. 00:19:06 Speaker 2: Market. 00:19:06 Speaker 3: I'm offended. It's like it's taken away what a point guard is. 00:19:10 Speaker 2: And this is what offends you. 00:19:12 Speaker 5: Kids. 00:19:13 Speaker 2: He's sewing fine with but calling everybody a point guard now crossed. 00:19:17 Speaker 3: I'm a little offended that he thinks the demeaning my position that anybody can be a point guard. No, you can't. Takes a special person to be a point guard. 00:19:25 Speaker 6: I guess if I am the starting point guard, I'm like, what he takes a special person, takes a special. 00:19:32 Speaker 2: Takes a very special human being. Who's up next, ship, Kyle, Kyle, Go ahead, Kyle. 00:19:40 Speaker 11: Hey, good morning. Retired ref becomes retired caller starting today. 00:19:44 Speaker 7: My advice. 00:19:48 Speaker 11: Yeah, And I think the best example of this, we've talked about this for years is I think we saw it maybe right right before COVID, but definitely post COVID. Uh of the kids not responding to Cal when he yelled at them. 00:20:00 Speaker 2: I think that's right. 00:20:01 Speaker 11: Yeah, I think, And we see now the gradual shift to Pope. And we've seen through the videos they've put out now he's carried himself through the first couple exhibition games on the sideline. That's not his style, I think, because he knows and he's adapted to how kids respond to coaching nowadays, and it's okay for times to change. 00:20:20 Speaker 2: I totally agree with you. Let me give you a couple and I appreciate the call. Let's use a couple of examples, not just I mean Cal and Pope could not do it different more differently. Pope is mister positivity. Cal was mister screaming. I think both were good guys. I think both the players really liked but they did it differently. Go back in time, Phil Jackson barely talked. 00:20:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, Scotty, he won a lot, didn't he one of the greatest coaches ever? 00:20:47 Speaker 2: A lot? I mean, you know, Bobby Knight couldn't stop screaming. John Wooden barely spoke too. 00:20:54 Speaker 3: Huh. 00:20:54 Speaker 2: Like, there's a lot of different ways to do it, but maybe in today's world, right more people are gonna have to learn to do it. 00:21:01 Speaker 5: The Phil Jackson, John Wooden, Mark Pope way than the other one. 00:21:05 Speaker 3: I think that's exactly the way the world has changed. And I love how Pope and when somebody messes up, instead of yelling at him, he goes up, looks him in the eves face to face and talks to him about it and kind of, you know, help. It's a teaching moment at that time. 00:21:20 Speaker 5: Taylor Swift is in Indianapolis this weekend. Now normally I wouldn't bring that up, but. 00:21:26 Speaker 2: The mayor of Indianapolis says, Taylor Swift is going to bring the city one billion dollars over the course of the three days, one billion dollars. I want you to think about that three days of shows. This is our last shows in America. I want you to look at what the tickets are on Sunday night, which is her last thing. 00:21:51 Speaker 5: There are some rumors that people think like something. 00:21:54 Speaker 2: Might happen that last night, maybe maybe Harris shows up, something like that. But the tickets are unbelievable, Like we're talking like ten thousand dollars for seats not even on the floor left. 00:22:15 Speaker 5: Wow. 00:22:16 Speaker 2: Wow, I mean, it's it's absolutely crazy. But think about that one billion dollars for. 00:22:25 Speaker 5: The city, Ryan for three knots. 00:22:29 Speaker 3: That's that's a big number for people coming in, all the hotel rooms, all the money, all the parking, all the tickets, everything, ad of merchandise sales. That's a that's a big number. 00:22:38 Speaker 2: That's a crazy number. 00:22:40 Speaker 6: I reserve this week at India a year and a half ago, hoping we'd look into a lottery. So I tried to get up there. It's it's impossible. You can't just go see Taylor Swift. 00:22:49 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean you honest, and. 00:22:51 Speaker 6: I believe the billion. That's first of all, how big is that? 00:22:55 Speaker 2: That's like sixty five seventy thousand people in that place and they sold it out for three straight nines. I saw in Toronto, which is where she finishes the tour, that has like seventy five thousand people in the SkyDome and they sold out seven straight nines. That is that is like five hundred thousand people. 00:23:21 Speaker 6: People fly across the world because it's easier to get tickets at random. 00:23:24 Speaker 5: Here, we'll take a break. Be right Back's KSR. 00:23:28 Speaker 2: TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay now. 00:23:32 Speaker 4: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:37 Speaker 2: Welcome back Kentucky Sports Radio eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text Machine seven seven two seven to seven four five two five four. 00:23:46 Speaker 5: Uh, what person rights? Matt? 00:23:48 Speaker 2: My wife asked me this the other day. We've been listening to you for ten years. She said, what do you think Matt will do on election night? He doesn't like to wait for things. Do you think he'll watch the results? First of all, look at that Guarrett there, Uh, Calbran. I so I'll probably do the same thing I did the last two times. I stayed off. Then I didn't watch the returns, didn't get on social media, and then at eleven o'clock I got on. And in both cases I felt like at eleven o'clock, by just looking at what I knew to look at, I knew what the result was gonna be. So I remember in twenty sixteen I went down to Glasgow because Gabe was running. Yes, we went to his party, which we thought was a losing party and then found out the next day was a victory party. In one of the craziest things of all time, where they had a change in the in the results overnight, and on the drive back, I looked at the early. 00:24:50 Speaker 5: Returns and I said, Trump's gonna win. 00:24:52 Speaker 2: Then in twenty twenty, when the Philadelphia returns came in, I was like, Biden's gonna gonna win this time, turning it all off. I'm gonna do something else that night, and about eleven o'clock I'm gonna check in, and then whatever happens, I'm staying off my phone because people people will be awful that night regardless no matter who wins. And then but we might not know. I mean, I think there's a really good chance, like in twenty sixteen, Trump won by more than people think, and in twenty twenty Biden one by more than people think. I think this is gonna be like right in the middle of both that either the polls are completely wrong and one of them is gonna run away with it, or it's gonna be like insanely close, and we might not know for days. So I'll look at like eleven o'clock and then I'll probably say, yeah, whatever we can do to occupy your expression, I might go to a movie, because movies are like the one place you can get on Earth where like nobody, Like you get your people with their phones off and they're not going to talk to you about it or something like that. You know, my neighborhood. The problem is my neighborhood in Louisville. It's a very liberal neighborhood, so they're gonna care. My neighbor in Lexington probably wouldn't. 00:26:17 Speaker 6: But you know, just to the Halloween move, turned your porch let off and utter down, don't answer the door. 00:26:23 Speaker 2: Yeah, But so my view is you'll either know by eleven or eleven thirty or we won't know for weeks. 00:26:30 Speaker 3: Well, what year was it the hanging chads with Bush and Gore? 00:26:34 Speaker 2: That nobody in two thousand? I remember after you guized that in hindsight that came down to like eight hundred votes. The president of the United States came down to like literally eight hundred votes. 00:26:44 Speaker 3: We uh, you know, we did the late news that night and left the TV station and still didn't know who won the. 00:26:49 Speaker 2: Present that night in two thousand, they declared both of them the winner. They declared Bush the winner, then they declared Gore the winner, and then they came back and said, no one is the win. 00:27:00 Speaker 3: Yeah, had the recount? 00:27:02 Speaker 2: Yeah, really the videos of the guys like looking hold the ballants up to the light to see where the where the chad was. 00:27:09 Speaker 3: I've never heard of hanging chad before or since. I think that that scenario. 00:27:14 Speaker 2: So yeah, So my my prediction is either the polls. The polls are either missing the women that are gonna vote for Harris or they're missing the rural people that will vote for Trump. I don't know which one it is, or they're right, and if they're right, it's gonna be stupid close. 00:27:34 Speaker 5: So we'll see. 00:27:37 Speaker 3: And you're gonna keep your phone off. 00:27:39 Speaker 5: No I am. 00:27:40 Speaker 2: I'm not gonna do you think I will say this. I was off my phone in twenty sixteen and twenty twenty two, and I was much more addicted to my phone in those years than I am now I'm off. People are gonna be awful. They will. People are gonna be awful to each other next day will They're gonna be absolutely That's one of the things that makes me sad about it. People are going to be absolutely awful to each other. And and Twitter is gonna be full of misinformation, like you're not gonna know what to believe, You're gonna have no idea so what good does it do. 00:28:11 Speaker 5: To be online? 00:28:13 Speaker 3: It doesn't. 00:28:14 Speaker 2: I just will you do? Will you watch it? 00:28:17 Speaker 5: Oh? 00:28:17 Speaker 3: I have the TV on, I'll do other stuff, right, doing other stuff. I'll mean, you know, we're doing laundry and I'll have it on. 00:28:23 Speaker 2: You'll probably like have your own dog costume contests at your house or something like that. 00:28:28 Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll tune in. 00:28:29 Speaker 6: Yeah, No, I mean everybody, I haven't seen ten minutes of anything into. I don't watch any of it, but on election night I'll watch it. 00:28:36 Speaker 7: Yeah. 00:28:37 Speaker 5: I think that's how most people probably are. Who's next, Rob? 00:28:40 Speaker 7: Rob? 00:28:41 Speaker 5: Go ahead? Rob? 00:28:43 Speaker 7: Oh? 00:28:43 Speaker 8: Yeah, I was calling about the coaching. I coached boys and girls basketball in high school. Yes, and I don't. We didn't cuss two the kids period, either girls or boys. Now, you might slip and say a cuss word and you apologize for that, but you don't cuss the kids. 00:29:04 Speaker 5: I'm with you. 00:29:06 Speaker 2: I appreciate you. 00:29:07 Speaker 5: Oh, I'm sorry, go ahead, go ahead. 00:29:12 Speaker 2: He hung up. 00:29:12 Speaker 5: All right, Sorry about that. I didn't mean. I didn't that was a preemptive appreciate the call. 00:29:17 Speaker 3: You did say that. There's more parts of that video that. 00:29:21 Speaker 2: Apparently there's a phrase he says that Apparently I don't know this. Apparently there's two videos and they deleted the second video, and in the second video it's still just cussing, but maybe a little more graphic. We don't need to say what it was, but there was more than just cussing. 00:29:36 Speaker 5: It was like kind of a. 00:29:39 Speaker 2: A very cussing extreme something that would get you in trouble. Yeah, yeah, maybe a little bit more detailed, a little bit too too graphic. Go ahead, who's next, Mason, Mason? 00:29:51 Speaker 12: Go ahead, Mason, Hey, good morning, fellas you weren't playing Devil's an get your because you know, I have to agree it is probably not the right thing to do. But as a coach for a twenty plus years, I feel like the differences between a classroom teacher and a coach is like you have the kids have to be there in the classroom. They choose to be in an extracurrical activity in these other things, band, softball, football, all those things. 00:30:22 Speaker 2: Well, the Supreme Court just like I said this a minute ago. I'll let you finish, but I said this in a minute ago in the about law. The Supreme Court over the years has made a distinction on everything from free speech to prayer, to all of these things between what you're saying, the difference between you have to go to school, but you don't have to play these sports. So what you're saying is not ridiculous. There are legal precedents based on that. 00:30:48 Speaker 7: But go ahead, what I was going to tell you. 00:30:51 Speaker 12: So, you have coaches as good as Nick Saban, who is kind of in your face yeo guy, all the way down to people who you would barely say boot, and both of them are really you know, people are really good coaches. So as I was saying, I think you have to know your kids and you have to know if you can say those type of things to them or not. Like the guy was saying earlier, like now, you probably can't do that as much as you could back in the past. When I first started twenty years ago, it was, you know, not as big a thing now. Like the guy said, kids will shut down on you in a heartbeat for whatever reason. So that's why I was getting too with that and real quick, Hey, I would just take the popcorn money from whatever Taylor Swift goes in Indianapolis. 00:31:37 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's unbelievable to think I appreciate the call just about you know, the amount of money. Okay, so that's just the tickets. Think about the merchandise she makes. Yeah, I mean the tickets were five hundred dollars each face value. Okay, so just think about how much that is and then the merchandise ice money. Somebody wrote me and said, me and my daughters are going. We don't have tickets. We're just going to buy merchandise and come home. I know people have done that. 00:32:09 Speaker 6: Yeah, gone to wherever she was, to the city, No tickets, just set somewhere nearby where you could hear. 00:32:15 Speaker 3: It because all the all the bars around them will have pre parties and post parties after her concert. 00:32:19 Speaker 6: Also, concerts have gotten very smart with merchandise her especially. They'll get there two days early. 00:32:24 Speaker 2: And yeah they're there now. 00:32:25 Speaker 6: Yes, so they have days of making it before she even lands in Indianapolis. 00:32:31 Speaker 2: It's really like, she. 00:32:35 Speaker 5: Where does she rank in the biggest musical artist of all time? 00:32:38 Speaker 2: Like for real? Like not not where? What you think is her level of good or whatever? Is she the biggest female artist of all time? She is? 00:32:48 Speaker 3: I used to think it was probably Madonna. She's been passed that music guy. 00:32:52 Speaker 5: Do you think he's She's the biggest music artist of all time. 00:32:55 Speaker 4: Yeah, based on these numbers, yeah, you probably have to say she. 00:32:58 Speaker 2: Is, so I would argue the only people in her stratosphere the Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis, anyone else. 00:33:10 Speaker 3: For the females, it's just yeah. 00:33:12 Speaker 5: Well, well none of those are females I just mentioned. 00:33:14 Speaker 3: But we're gonna try to compare to females Madonna, Lady Gaga, and her that she's bigger than Yeah. 00:33:21 Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think the only people that you could put in her stratosphere, and even Elvis was more of an American thing. I think you're probably looking at like Beatles, Michael Jackson, her. 00:33:34 Speaker 3: I think that's the three. 00:33:35 Speaker 6: I don't want to get the beehive on me. Beyonce thinks she's in that category, but she's not. 00:33:40 Speaker 7: I know. 00:33:41 Speaker 6: Taylor Swift is her own stratosphere right now. With these numbers she's doing. 00:33:45 Speaker 5: Yeah, prices are following it. 00:33:46 Speaker 2: Don Franklin's Family Dealershipsfordable doesn't need to be impossible no matter your situation. For those of you that are in the Lexington or Louisville area, if you're trying to early. 00:34:31 Speaker 5: Vote, don't. 00:34:35 Speaker 2: It's like crowds everywhere everywhere. Like I'd wait maybe at least till tomorrow or Saturday, or even on election day because the crowds are insane. Traffic is backed up on Tates Creek Road. I saw pictures from out in bowman Field, Shendon, where iurly votes sometimes. My goodness like that. It's crazy how many people are out there. 00:34:56 Speaker 4: I was considering doing it today, but if you're telling me. 00:34:59 Speaker 2: Today, I'd wait election day maybe quicker. No, I think election day will be quicker because when you go to early voting, they have to find your precinct first, which takes forever, and then you vote, whereas when you go to your precinct, you're good. 00:35:14 Speaker 3: Yeah, so I actually think we've got two different guys. Step up here. You mentioned Tate Creek grow the gentleman was just here, said the North Side Library. The back pustures of the traffic in these places is absolutely wid Yoga girl was late to get to work today because she couldn't get into where she worked. They were voting. 00:35:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, so to be like, all right, DraftKings are pick of the night. Texans Jets. Aaron Rodgers is a two point favorite against the Texans. Give me Houston, the Jet stink. What do you got? 00:35:41 Speaker 6: I like Houston, but I am recently the touchdown god. Davante Adams scores tonight. He hasn't scored yet since he's been there. He's been targeted a million times but doesn't have one yet. So I like the Texans and the Adams touchdown. 00:35:54 Speaker 3: I will never bet for Aaron Rodgers, so I've taken whoever playing against him. Give me the Texans. 00:35:59 Speaker 5: What about you? With three Texans? You're gonna where you going? 00:36:02 Speaker 2: Shannon? You know what? 00:36:02 Speaker 4: Okay, I'll be the guy I'll take the Jets Aaron Rodgers finally gets a win tonight over the tex I Final. 00:36:07 Speaker 5: Will he finally get a win? 00:36:09 Speaker 2: We did this thing on ESPN where we went through the quarterbacks to figure out where we think Aaron Rodgers is right now, and Myron and I have ended up putting him as the eighteenth best quarterback right now. 00:36:19 Speaker 3: He's not played well, the team is not played. 00:36:21 Speaker 5: You have never thought that he was one of the three best quarterbacks like his entire career. 00:36:26 Speaker 6: And he's got some weapons too. I guess they're not blocking for him, but he's got the receivers and still not. 00:36:30 Speaker 2: Getting it done. Remember we had the conversation about helmet communications and I said, how do they keep their signals from getting crossed? The Big twelve KSR cursed. The Big Twelve announced yesterday they are reviewing the possibility of teams finding the other streams of their other coaches and that they are investigating. I just this week asked about it, and now the Big Twelve seems to act like maybe it's gotten hacked. 00:36:58 Speaker 3: When the one guy came on here and acted like any you're talking about. So it's kind of an honor system. We all look at each other. Maybe he was right and people don't honor it. Well, I'm shocking. 00:37:09 Speaker 6: Something with as much at stake as college football. I think most coaches would go against that honor system. 00:37:15 Speaker 2: But how about that? So like they're investigating it saying there they think that the it's always been secure. But this is exactly what I said, from the from the coach to the player they think might have gotten might be insecure. 00:37:31 Speaker 3: It seems like if you know what you're doing, you could hack into that every single game. 00:37:35 Speaker 5: Because he's not wired. Although I don't know if that makes a difference. I don't really know what I'm talking about, but. 00:37:41 Speaker 6: I did see clearly you do because the Big twelve you like, you. 00:37:45 Speaker 2: Know, sometimes you'll be I don't know, you get a walkie talkie and then you hear other people talking and you're like, what's happening here? 00:37:54 Speaker 6: Or like middle school girlfriend and you think your mom's on the line, or a sibling you're like, wait a minute, someone else. 00:38:00 Speaker 2: Well, back in the early cell phone days, you would sometimes get other people's call. Yes, like you kind of hear it. You could sometimes hear do you remember that, Shannon? Like when cell phones first started, you could sometimes hear occasionally another person's. 00:38:14 Speaker 5: Call to you. 00:38:16 Speaker 4: No, I didn't know you can do that. 00:38:18 Speaker 3: I've had that happen. 00:38:19 Speaker 2: I mean it's a long time ago, but in the early days, you could sometimes like another person's call would kind of bleed through. 00:38:27 Speaker 3: I got this is kind of along this topic, but as a little different. You know the little ear holes in your helmets. Now that you can have the speaker in your helmet. 00:38:36 Speaker 5: Okay, this is gonna be. 00:38:40 Speaker 2: Ready for it yesterday. 00:38:42 Speaker 5: I already know what's coming and I can't wait to hear it. Go ahead. 00:38:45 Speaker 3: There's like there's a guy we all know him, doctor Klosterman. Doctor K's with a company. They make little plastic inserts to plug up the hole so you can hear your coach better talking to you. All the SEC schools did it except for Kentucky. Kentucky finally hooked up with him. And now for like the guys that have the speakers in their headphone, they got these little plugs that plug into those little ear holes in your helmet. 00:39:07 Speaker 5: I thought you were going to say something else. 00:39:09 Speaker 2: I thought you were going to say that you were worried that people could hear it through the holes and would eves dropped. I thought that's where you were going with that. They would put their ear to the helmet, so that was different. I thought that's where you were going with that. And I was gonna be I was gonna be happy. Who's next, Andrew? 00:39:31 Speaker 5: Go ahead, Andrew. 00:39:34 Speaker 7: So going back on the Taylor Swift tickets, my daughter is really big in Taylors Swift and last Christmas, I was just looking at tickets for in Indianapolis this weekend, and I was trying to see how much the tickets would just be. Yeah, and when I got to the final stages on stuff Hub, my phone cliffs and the next screen that popped up and said thank you for your purchase, and it was forty seven hundred dollars for Nosebleed. 00:40:06 Speaker 5: But well, first of all, your daughter's going to be happy, right. 00:40:11 Speaker 7: I sold the tickets. I sold the tickets to next. 00:40:15 Speaker 5: I hope your daughter down here. 00:40:17 Speaker 2: For how much a piece? 00:40:20 Speaker 7: Two thousand dollars apiece? 00:40:21 Speaker 5: So you did lose money on it. 00:40:24 Speaker 7: I lost seven hundred. 00:40:26 Speaker 5: But but you know what. 00:40:28 Speaker 2: But you know what's crazy, though, sir, is if you had kept it, you would have gotten more than that. Now. 00:40:35 Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, But at the time, I was just trying to lose. 00:40:39 Speaker 5: You needed to move away. You understand, Well that that does suck. I mean that sucks. I hate that. It's well, I'm sorry, I wish I could help your daughter go. 00:40:51 Speaker 7: Well, what stuff up does too, is so even though I sold the tickets, you didn't get that money. 00:40:58 Speaker 5: Yeah, they take four third. 00:41:00 Speaker 7: Well you don't. You don't get the money for thirty days after the event. 00:41:04 Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that happens with the RADS tickets with me, you don't get them. You don't get the money for a long time after you Yeah, it takes I don't know about thirty days, but it takes a couple of weeks. 00:41:14 Speaker 4: You should have sold sold the tickets to your daughter. 00:41:16 Speaker 3: She would. 00:41:18 Speaker 2: Well I'm sorry your daughter didn't get to go and that you lost that money. But uh, but you know at least you tried, right, Yeah, all right, I appreciate the call. 00:41:29 Speaker 5: I don't know if that helps. I don't know if. I don't know if I made it feel any better. 00:41:32 Speaker 3: But uh, yeah, if he'd have hung onto him and sold him like right, oh. 00:41:36 Speaker 5: Yeah, he'd have gotten more than that. 00:41:37 Speaker 2: Now. 00:41:37 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I think that's probably right. 00:41:39 Speaker 2: Uh, serve Pro. You know, our national storm team is responding to all the unfortunate accidents all over the country and serve Pro helps hopefully come in and make it like it never even happened. Gave me a couple of stipulations, no kid under three and last year I scared a kid, it was on an oxygen tank. Tank. No, no kids that have medical disabilities, and no kids under three. 00:42:30 Speaker 2: Three. 00:42:30 Speaker 6: I'm gonna be higher than three. 00:42:32 Speaker 2: You scared a kid on an oxygen tank. 00:42:35 Speaker 3: You want him to get the full Halloween experience. 00:42:39 Speaker 6: He's so, You're gonna scare four year olds? 00:42:42 Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, four year olds? You would see a four year old with an oxygen tank. I'm coming at that's and think that's who. You're worse than the ref all right, see it wild, the
