You can't pull for someone then hope someone else wins. I think it's great for baseball. Dodgers won. I was pulling for the Blue Jays. I love seeing the battle. I love seeing unlikely heroes like Ernie Clement break hit records and all these dudes come through, and Gladdy played big. But the Dodgers are saving baseball. So the question in itself, are they ruining baseball or saving baseball? No, they're full of stars that come through. They're a great, great team, and I tip my Yankee hat to both teams. Congrats two in a row. They're they're starting a dynasty.

I like the Mets, but I like the Dodgers too. Dude, when I was five, I liked eating my boogers too. It doesn't matter. He's fine, He'll figure it out. Lately, got to like buy bottom of a little Mookie Bets Jersey. So we had a good time. Now we're gonna go over all the things that made you go hmmm. From the World Series from Week nine to the NFL. I don't want to be I know Jay stew from The Gottlieb Show hates when people talk about time flying, But can you believe next week we're going about to enter week ten like we're more than halfway there. We're further along than bon Jovi. We'll be broadcasting live from the Super Bowl before you know it, but before we get everybody involved on Monday. Speaker 1: And did you see what he Roberts said after the game where he found out just minutes before he hung out with Poppy A Rod Jeter and Burkhart. He was telling a story about how Rojas's wife because again props to Dave Roberts for putting in his guy, believing in him. Even Kevin Malar said, I think Rojas is gonna have a big moment tonight, Like there were so many crazy predictions about Rojas doing well. But Rojas's wife said, listen, Miho, listen, Papa to night's your night. Believe in yourself. You're gonna hit a home run tonight. And I think Rojas's response was like, I haven't hit a home run in months, Like it's not gonna happen. She's like, You're gonna hit a home run tonight.

And I think that was really cool. And that Rojas story is a sort of under the radar story where his wife was really hyping him up about it. I felt so happy for him and I love him, Dave. I love how Dave Roberts became a hip hop DJ. For a second, he was giving shout outs, some big ups. Shout out some big ups to the wife he play don't forget.

Speaker 5: After Game five, I sent you guys the story about how Rojas was the last player on the dugout steps for the Dodgers after that horrible loss, and he did not want to go into the locker room with the rest of his teammates. He was soaking it up. This is his last season and he was super upset. You could tell how much he cares about the game of baseball.

Speaker 1: Yeah, from that huge moment in Game six though, again, I feel like that fire that they all shared together with that Kyk double play in his scoop, From that moment on, they played with that same fire, and I think that really changed the entire rest of the series. That scoop he made in Game six, the infield in the home run. I mean, Miguel Rojas had a series, dude, so many huge moments we go on all day. That bare handed play to me, to me, the thing that gets under the radar. There's a I have like a few notes that we're gonna get to the NFL. Don't worry if you're a big football fan, there's plenty of time over the next two hours. If I even got some Halloween questions, some observation things that made me go, in fact, rich, why are we making the people wait? I thought that that Roja Scoop is so underrated because unless you play baseball, Mante you played softball. It wasn't a true bounce. It wasn't a scoop where you where you you know, if you play baseball, you know to catch that little scoop. That was the in between impossible, like you're sort of guessing. There is a element of guessing where it's not the short hops. It was beautiful. It's everything about it was like his eye hand coordination because again, that's not a first basement with a little scoop. It's not a one bouncer where it's a true bounce you get caught in between.

Key k going against the coach's instructions playing in caught it. Barger not thinking that he was gonna catch it. He catches that no look because he's looking at third, he's looking at second when you see it broken down, he's not even looking at the ball when he catches it, and he's ready to Yeah, he was already. He knew what he was gonna do. Game of inches. Every little thing and mattered that right there. Oh I'm sorry, did I say tough three? I have a tap four coming to a number four that was number four, number three. The ball getting stuck in the wall. Zo might be the greatest thing that ever happened to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Goes back to key K again because Key K was the first guy to signal to center field hands up. If you watch it over again, it may be lost because it all happened so fast. You see the veteran presence of a guy who's been there before and steps up in these moments. Keik her Nandez was a big time hero. Dose his hands right up. Don't toudge it, dose his hands up, and that changed everything. Bro.

Speaker 6: So we most of us have never seen that happen where the ball gets wedged between the wall and the ground. But Jonas Knox, who I worked with over the weekend, he says, this happens at Wrigley Field all the time, when the ball would go into the ivy in.

Speaker 1: But the thing is they tried to do it. Remember they found the Andre Dawson in there one time. Remember that commercial the old Hawk is in there. No, but I've never seen it wedged like that before. Well, they tried to replicate this on MLB Network. I believe, and they were like, yo, you could do it a thousand times from close distance and you can't wedge it. And that was a freaking incident that really changed the things.

Speaker 5: They have turf out there underneath that fence, and it's a tight fit with a fence and the turf, and so people that were trying to compare it to what happened to the Mets back in the day rich with the ball clearly underneath the fence, but no, this the the ball just had a dead stop.

So that was number three, number two of my top four that I just randomly made up riches Top four MLB countdown. Yeah, bro, someone broke this down and I posted on my Instagram story at Rich Davis. Now, I'm not saying no one else thought of this, but this guy was the first to bring it to my attention. This guy here, you're gonna give no credit to so Chubby GIBBRONI from you some random reporter on TikTok. I don't know who it is, but you want me to give him credit? Hall, let me say if it's still my thing? Oh saw the same click White Rose Baseball. There you go, some chubby do with a beard that seems like a nice fellow. He talks about how when Angel pegan not Angel Pagan. I'm sorry, Pius Angel Pagan, that was the first shout of that guy gotten a decade on any sports radio. Angel Pagan. That name creep into my head, PA has you know, here's the other side story. There's so many little stories. He had just gone in as a defensive replacement for Edmund. So again, this had just happened. These are little stories that go right under the radar. They just put them in great call by Roberts. But yeah, I'm not sure Edmund makes that catch up. Yeah, so probably not happen. And if that didn't happen, he does not make that this, by the way, this has nothing to do with Angel Pagan for the start, I'm not sure what happened.

Speaker 1: Now lets say, you know, it's so crazy when Jeff Kent what you know, Andy pis when he goes back for that ball and him and by the way, key K, we've all been there, whether it's Little League, when a ball is directly over your head, the angle you take, you're not you're not going left, you're not going right, like you're sort of in a no man's land. Key K is not catching that ball.

Speaker 1: What I thought was the coolest observation was that when Pies floats over like he's Carlos Beltron in his prime, like he floated from center field to left field, he makes that catch, collides with key K. Key K's down on the ground like a ton of bricks. Your instinct was, oh, is key K hurt? And then when this guy pointed out on Instagram, I was like, oh my god, yeah, key K in that moment thought I didn't get the ball. We just lost the World Series. I cost the team the World Series by colliding with pie his In this moment, when you see key K down on the ground for like five seconds, you're like, oh my god, is he hurt? And then he just pops up.

Speaker 1: So I thought that was like you got to see someone's real time reaction. But at that moment, I didn't think of that. I just thought, oh, maybe Keik got banged up. In that moment, he thought we just lost the World Series. Every one of these moments was necessary for the Dodgers to win, and they pulled it off. You know, you had to be the man to beat the man. The Dodgers proved that they're the men, they're the team, and and and the Blue Jays were great. I understand the sentiment of people thinking they might have been the better team because they have a great style, a great fight. But the Dodgers are still just a little better man because they did all those little things to combat and they did it when it mattered. Props to Rojas, Props to Will Smith. What dude came too big again? Again? You can't really put your finger Here's the best part about it. You can't really put your finger on what the best moment was. Was it the Crevis? Was it Miguel Rojas? Was it Will Smith coming through doing something that no one does coming through big game. He he embraced like his old school, like inner Japanese warrior and got out there like that is something that is admirable. Like he's he wanted that ball, but my number one, number one, number one be and and listen. He has defended himself since. And I feel like this is such a tricky moment in the World Series and will be remembered forever. You're old Yankee now Blue Jay Kiner Falaffel Isaiah k I KF good ballplayer. They put him in there for his speed. Now when you see the overhead shot of the weakest ass secondary lead, he's on that ball that's hit to Rojas, you want to immediately be like, this guy's weak ass base running cost the Blue Jays the World Series. If Max Munsey's ten feet off the bag, why is the runner? Is he only five feet off the bag. He has since spoken saying that all the managers and coaches were so adamant about not getting doubled up that they said be, you know, be cautious with your secondary leads. Think about it, guys, if you're a casual baseball fan infield in because there's a play at the plate, but if there's a line drive hit to anybody there, you got to be cautious to not get doubled up. But sat drive hit to Munsie in a later situation, I'm just glad that the coaches. I feel like the coaches have to take more accountability of Like, no, we told him not to take a secondary lead, because had he taken a secondary lead, the Blue Jays win the World Series? Just ran through it. Why did he slide? A lot of people are saying that he should have head first to a head first dive might have gotten gotten there sooner. Who knows, because you know, we from playing baseball as a kid, they always say sliding into first base is not the move you get that quicker running through. So I don't know what the right answer is. I don't think any of us do. I wonder if Ai. I wonder if Ai Son, as he knows he's going home, he has to take a bigger lead or get a bigger jump. There the fact that Rojas was able to still get his feet from under him. He stumbled and he still got him out. And again, if will will Smith could have been could have been. I want to say the goat, but the goat means greatest of all time now, but he could have been blamed for losing it if his foot was not on that base bad way to the little moment Will Smith made it such a great and memorable World Series. Honestly, my number one is the fact that you could argue that we witnessed, we were honored enough to witness and my team wasn't even in it. One of the most well played world series, most exciting World Series, Top three at least of all time. My dad's a seventy year old guy, loves baseball, loves sootball. My dad's retired. He watches sports, plays tennis, golf, doesn't you know he's my dad's traveling. He's doing an old retired guy does, but he's a retired sports fan. My dad says, we just wentness. He goes, I'm a son. I watched the hell of a lot of baseball from Mantle and Maris to you know, the eighties, nineties. He said this, He's like, it was so well played, he goes, he goes, how could you not be pulled in? Like? It really was the best the World Series? We applaud and we said it all season long? Did we not say it all season long? Baseball's popping and it ended so perfectly with the Dodgers on top. Will Smith props to a great I gotta ask if IKF gets that secondary lead slides head first, if the Dodgers lose the World Series on Will Smith's foot going up, do you guys hate Will Smith?

Things that made you go, hm, NFL that also counts NBA Halloween whatever you observe this weekend. Let's say IKF did score the Blue Jays win? Who gets the MVP? If they win? Would it have been Clement who broke the hit record? Actually like a beast would have been you savage? Would it had been Laddie? Like who would have been the MVP for that team? There were so many times where that game game six, seven, or three could have been determined by a walk, a sack, fly or something like anti climactic. Are you glad it didn't like the fact that it was, you know, a double mookie turning a double play, a one you know, essentially a sixth stepping on the bag three double play. That was a great six six three double play. Do you look at me? A broken bat? That was another thing I don't I haven't heard anyone talk about that. That was a broken bat. Yeah, I'm a moto stepping up again, but a broken bat double play from Alejandro kirk Man that could have went anyway, and somehow he.

Speaker 1: That's why we said, I remember telling you I was like, I was so happy I was rooting for you, But if Alex Call would have had a sackfly, that would have been the weakest ending to the coolest game. So anytime these games do end in dramatic fashion, you got to say, that's so much better, so much better. Well, I didn't think they could do it, rich you said they would. I didn't think the Dodgers, as great as they are, would go to Toronto and take two in a row from a team that just battles the way the Blue Jays did. That being said, the Dodgers proved that they're one of the best teams we've ever seen. Not only that they're likable, they're not really that hate heable. They're such a great cast of characters and personalities both teams. I was so impressed by both teams, the resilience of both teams, the way they both battled, and again we're privileged to have witnessed it. But they gave a warning, and I'm like, a warning you think people in Game seven of the World Series and a tight game need a warning. Motions were so high it was great. It just added more fire and fun to us as the viewer. And I do have one little I'll have one bone to pick. Okay, one small one made me say, hmm, you can't predict how you're gonna react when you win the World Series, right, But when Yamamoto gets that double play, great play by Mookie Batts, great pitch to get Kirk on a double play, I feel like his first instinct is to turn around and hug his catcher. That's the team right there, and instead he's just he's shows and give your catcher a hug man. I think that was the you know, just a little this. No, it's just an observation, that's all because I think they've got such a communication going on, and you know, that's the that's the battery there, that's the that's the team. They're they're a unit. I think when a pitcher wins or closes out the World Series, that's between you and your catcher for that moment and then the rest of it. But I'll tell you what, no one was still so great to see a minor It was relief anyone that's ever played baseball. That is one of the best feelings.
