I'm not even really that sick, but I lost my voice. 00:00:52 Speaker 5: To game day. 00:00:52 Speaker 4: You gotta get gone, And I learned my lesson a few years ago. Don't drink six gallons water shinning to try to make it happen. 00:01:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, and also, don't give all your topics to Ryan because he'll blow through them. 00:01:03 Speaker 3: In the first five minutes. 00:01:04 Speaker 4: That's exactly right. It just sounds like I don't. 00:01:29 Speaker 4: Really feel bad. But I I lost my voice. I could. I couldn't even talk last night. It's actually an improvement. Yeah, I don't know what it was. 00:01:36 Speaker 5: Well, it's that time of year. My mama used to say the croup and the crud kind of gets in your chest and your lungs and your sinuses and just kind of stays there. 00:01:44 Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know if that's it. I just don't have a voice, so that this happens to me about once a year. When you talk as much as I do, Drew, at some point your voice says, all right, I need a break, So I'm taking a break this evening. But I thought would try to get through, get through this show. 00:02:02 Speaker 6: Yeah, such an exciting time playing South Carolina. They're one of the teams in the conference. Can't miss a show like this. Four games left, This is our second to last Tuesday of the season. An important game, very important, very important. I'm gonna lose four to row. We haven't done that in like a billion years. 00:02:18 Speaker 4: And like to make the tournament a big game. I mean, I I think if they win this game, they're in the tournament. 00:02:28 Speaker 5: But if they don't, it's on the table that they're not gonna make it. 00:02:32 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's it's that they might still make it even if they lose. But I think if you were to, let's say, go into the tournament with seven straight losses, you think the NCAA is gonna be gonna look favorable. You think they're gonna want to reward that. No, not at all. 00:02:49 Speaker 6: They say they don't consider the recency bias there, But they would, and we just wouldn't have not that. We're just loaded with excitement and optimism as it is. I mean, how could we even get up off the mat if we lost seven in a row going into March? 00:03:01 Speaker 4: Are you worried about this game? I'm worried about every game. To be honest, me too. That's what stinks. 00:03:08 Speaker 6: This used to be like you wake up, You're like, all right, let's go kick their teeth in and have a fun night. Now, even as a seven point favorite, you're kind of like, oh, this could go wrong. Yeah, like you got your guard up at all times, which is new for Kentucky fans. 00:03:22 Speaker 4: Yeah. I mean, it's an interesting question. Have you had any game this year in the SEC that you've come into one hundred confident we were gonna win the SEC? 00:03:34 Speaker 5: Probably the answer is no. I thought this might be the game. It tell South Carolina put ninety seven on Mississippi State on Saturday, Like. 00:03:41 Speaker 4: Probably the only one I was like that for was Mississippi State at home and then they got up a dozen yes in the first half. 00:03:49 Speaker 5: That was supposed to be the easiest game out. 00:03:51 Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't, I don't think. I mean, I remember I whle miss specifically, you were nervous about that game. 00:03:55 Speaker 6: I was very nervous about that game, and you know, he played his close for some of it. I feel good about Auburn. It's the first time I bet the UK money line in a while that didn't work out for him. 00:04:04 Speaker 4: Now this one's night. 00:04:05 Speaker 6: I mean, they should win, but it's just in the back of your mind how bad it would look if they don't. 00:04:10 Speaker 4: Yeah, well, the game is at seven o'clock. Pregame show will be at four thirty. Kentucky is a five and a half point favorite. Kind of a small number. 00:04:21 Speaker 3: But jumped. What is it now seven and a half? 00:04:25 Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, that feels more right to me. So maybe some people got the early Kentucky pool because I mean South Carolina, who have they beaten in conference? They'd beat Missippi State, only got three wins. 00:04:37 Speaker 3: I think Oklahoma also bad. 00:04:40 Speaker 4: Three bad team, so they haven't beaten anybody good, which is all the more reason we have to win. I mean, if you were to say who are the four worst teams in the conference, those would be the four and that's who they've beaten. 00:04:52 Speaker 5: You know, we went down to LSU, thought that was going to be a road win. Took a last second shot from Malaki to get that one. I just think this one all what kind of smells of a trap game. 00:05:01 Speaker 4: It's not there's no trap. We're down like trap is when you win three or four. 00:05:08 Speaker 5: Trap, there's no reverse trip. 00:05:09 Speaker 4: It's not a trap when you are on a three game losing streak, it is a you've got to win. 00:05:16 Speaker 6: And any team in the conference that has a pulse has destroyed South Carolina. When they lose, they lose big. Florida almost beat them by fifty, that's right. I know Kentucky's not Florida, but I mean South Carolina has some horrible loss There's a lot of like ten to fifteen points in the SEC games they couldn't win. So they're fortunate to have three wins against the very bottom of the standings. But any team that's you know, decent has put it on in pretty good eight five nine two eight Ozho twenty two eighty seven. Text Machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. 00:05:43 Speaker 4: All right, so Kat's gotta win. I'm nervous about it, but I still feel relatively optimistic. Yesterday during this show, we did a poll where I said pro or con Mark popes postgame right about the refs, And during the show, I think I said it was like sixty forty pro. That probably moved a little bit, and I would say it was like fifty to fifty in the end. Was it maybe fifty five forty five pro in the in the end, which was interesting to me because most of the reaction online was con but I think there were a lot of people who liked it. Now going forward, you know, he made some strong comments about the officials, et cetera. Do you think it has any resonating impact. 00:06:39 Speaker 6: That's clearly the message you had behind the scenes, because we heard the players mention it post on Instagram. You know, I wish, you know, he would also focus on a lot of their flaws in the game, but maybe that attitude of we got hosed on the road and now you're going right back on the road. They've got a little anger and it really felt they got cheated and we'll use that as motivation tonight. 00:06:58 Speaker 4: Overall, though, but what about with officials. I don't I don't don't think they do that. 00:07:03 Speaker 6: I think it will impact with I think the team will use it as fuel, But overall, I still think that's just putting a band aid on Kentucky's bigger issues here. 00:07:12 Speaker 5: If it's talking about officials, officials don't try to cheat the other team. They meant bad calls. 00:07:17 Speaker 4: You don't think there's any way in which certain officials have biases towards certain teams, individuals, coaches, players, You don't think that's possible. 00:07:31 Speaker 5: I think they're definitely some bias. But he's not got that. Guy isn't not gonna make that call just to try to get Kentucky to win. He just made a bad call. 00:07:39 Speaker 4: You mean try to get Auburn. 00:07:41 Speaker 5: Yeah, I just think you just think he made a bad call and that in that situation. 00:07:45 Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't. 00:07:46 Speaker 6: I think that exists places. I don't think that will linger from Auburn to this. 00:07:49 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:07:49 Speaker 6: I mean if anything in the raps are like this is Kentucky out South Carolina playing for like Wednesday conversations here sitting carried a lot of weight for the conference overall. So I don't know how much bad blood will be on their site. 00:08:00 Speaker 4: Well, that led to a conversation when we talked about that yesterday. You remember the one guy wrote I think his name was Jonathan and said that it was ksr's fault that there were bad calls, which has continued the theme of about three years that there are people who blame KSR for stuff. But then we actually got Shennon yesterday some blame for something non basketball related, Oh really, which was our conversation about gout and shingles. 00:08:34 Speaker 3: That's our fault that people have gout and shingles. 00:08:36 Speaker 4: No, not our fault that they have them. I don't have gout, but how we discussed it. So I think it's worth noting because some people wrote me actually really nice criticisms, not like you stink in liberal, you and your commy friends should move to Massachusetts, not that kind of stuff, but like, Matt, I love you, but think about this, And their general theme was when you all talk about stuff, you should know what you're talking about, and so these people were, like you were asking if shingles was contagious, you should know before you talk about it. Well, I just want to explain for a second the premise of this show. All Right. I don't know about you all, but I kind of hate radio TV shows where the host acts like they know everything. I get accused of that sometimes, but I don't really think that's fair because I don't even know how to like change my oil, or change an airfield, or hang a picture or hang a picture. Like literally, I don't know any of that, and I acknowledge that. But one of the things I've learned is that when you have a show. When you don't know something, this audience collectively knows a lot. Yes, almost anything we talk about. There are going to be experts out there. So if I throw out a topic and we don't know, right, and we talk about what we don't know, inevitably someone writes in and explains what it is. 00:10:17 Speaker 5: Has the answer right. Happens all the time. 00:10:20 Speaker 4: And I think that's good. Yes, I think that's good radio. So when the shingles and Gout conversation, I said what I think is objectively true. Those are words that sound. 00:10:39 Speaker 5: Ikey, very ikey. 00:10:41 Speaker 4: But there are diseases that people may have, and I genuinely did not know what they are. Right. 00:10:47 Speaker 5: We had an open form about open discussion, so. 00:10:49 Speaker 4: We got a bunch of conversations. One of the things I learned, Drew, I didn't realize how many people I knew have had shingles. Okay, people you knew, Oh yeah, people you I'm not gonna I saw one in three people will eventually deal with it. According to the Internet, one in three people will have shingles. Case is going to have if you throw the five of us and Billy and two of us are gonna have who's most likely to have it Ryan without questions. 00:11:17 Speaker 5: I'm probably the leading candidate. 00:11:19 Speaker 6: I will say he's older though, and has already passed. You know, he's got a few years where he ain't had it yet past fifty. When it really starts ramping up, he's at an advantage, or it doesn't start. It does, but you're more likely as you get older, and Ryan's older, who's already you know he's he's beat it a few years already. 00:11:34 Speaker 2: Drink frappuccino every morning? Does that give you like more the record? 00:11:37 Speaker 4: I got to see Ryan's breakfast this morning, Shannon thousand calories at. 00:11:44 Speaker 3: Least like there's some galp mixed in there somewhere. 00:11:46 Speaker 4: Oh no, you should see he got a chocolate croissant for breakfast. Yeah, Ryan, chocolate croissant. What about that is breakfast. 00:11:57 Speaker 5: Breakfast of champions right there? Got you started on the right. 00:12:00 Speaker 4: And that's pure sugar. You're drinking just chi and soy milk sugar? Is that chi sugar free? 00:12:10 Speaker 5: Probably not, but I don't think it has many carries. 00:12:14 Speaker 2: According to Google, sugar causes gallut flare ups. 00:12:18 Speaker 5: So I don't have it, yeah, back of my sugar. 00:12:22 Speaker 4: So we would say Ryan is most likely probably. 00:12:24 Speaker 3: So, meaning candidate he probably has it right now, doesn't even know it. 00:12:29 Speaker 6: That's a that's a VENTI. The regular size has forty two grams of sugar, so a little more than. 00:12:37 Speaker 4: Sixty to seventy grams of sugar. And then your chocolate croissant probably sugar free sugar. It is a Tuesday. 00:12:47 Speaker 6: I don't know if the calendar matters, but like, that's one of the days you try to really most people. 00:12:51 Speaker 4: Don't see Tuesday as the day they really packed sugar. 00:12:55 Speaker 6: Weekends get a little out of control early week you try to get back on track for you listen. 00:12:59 Speaker 4: Anyway, my point was in having that conversation, I think the audience went and learned more about I did. I did too. I was shocked how many people wrote me and said they had had shingles. Yes, and now I know it's more common. So my point about the shingles in the gout is just to say there were people like writing me, many of which were nice, saying, you know, you all need to not discuss things you don't know. If we do that, Shannon, there's no show. 00:13:32 Speaker 3: We'll just sit in silence and look at each other for two hours. 00:13:35 Speaker 4: You'll just be listening to me recite the law. Yeah, nobody wants that. 00:13:42 Speaker 5: That's the only thing I love about this show. We're just like four guys sitting around on a table just discussing whatever comes up that day. We were just discussing it. 00:13:48 Speaker 4: And also just so I'm just trying to let you in on my When I put something on the sheet, I know that some of the time it's going to make Ryan looks stupid, and some of the time it's might make Shannon angry, or it might make me look stupid because I can't do basic things. That's the entertainment. Yeah right, that's why we're doing it, So there's no reason to get upset about it. Like, that's why we're doing it. And now we know that Tyre's Halliburton has shingles. Yeah, we know. I didn't realize how many people had gout. And we also know that you can look up and learn more about it and try to keep it from it. One in three people having shingles A lot of thing. 00:14:37 Speaker 6: It's a lot according to the Internet, which doesn't tell lies. I always tell people because we do zero show prip. I mean a lot of times it's. 00:14:43 Speaker 4: You do zy, I do show prip. No. But I mean like we. 00:14:46 Speaker 6: Don't sit down as a group and plan the show. No, No, we hused to do our individual stay on topics. I mean we don't sit down and talk about the show. I always say sometimes it's like a game show when you take something that's not an obvious topic and I don't even know you know, you throw out someone. We're live on the We got to react. 00:15:00 Speaker 4: That's a goal. So anyway, so if I, if we, if we upset you about one of those, I promise it's not intentional. It's just how we kind. 00:15:10 Speaker 3: Of imagine getting upset over gout. 00:15:14 Speaker 4: There's not a topic we can discuss that someone is not mad at me about your liberal liberal Thank you. We'll take a break and we'll be right back. Chaos. That's the only way people are age. Shannon knows. 00:15:28 Speaker 3: I've never even heard a gallut until this song. 00:15:30 Speaker 4: Yes, but this is an excellent song. When's the last time a comedy album? Everyone our age had this album? Right? Did you have it? 00:15:43 Speaker 3: Che I didn't have it, but I was well aware of it. But I didn't have it. 00:15:47 Speaker 4: Well, I felt like everyone but Shannon had. They still do those They still put out comedy albums or is it all like Netflix specials? 00:15:57 Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like it's all Netflix stuff. It probably streaming. It's a little bit different. 00:16:00 Speaker 4: You know. 00:16:00 Speaker 2: It's not the same versus having a physical copy of a CD. 00:16:04 Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, I guess that doesn't happen as much anyway. One person writes, mad, it's nice for you to do a tribute show today to Robert F. Kennedy Junior with your voice. That's not very nice. 00:16:14 Speaker 3: Did you see his workout video with Kid Rock? 00:16:17 Speaker 4: Most ridiculous video in an administration that can that every day does something weird? The workout video of Kid Rock in RFK is top three. 00:16:29 Speaker 2: I didn't know you were supposed to wear blue jeans when you work out. I've been doing it wrong all these years. 00:16:32 Speaker 4: How about he jumped into a cold plunge in blue jeans? 00:16:35 Speaker 5: Who wore blue jeans? 00:16:36 Speaker 4: Robert Kennedy? 00:16:37 Speaker 3: Have you not seen this? 00:16:38 Speaker 4: Have you not seen this video? They're like in a cave. 00:16:41 Speaker 3: You know, we're doing a workout, workout and milk together. 00:16:44 Speaker 4: Robert Kennedy is clearly like he's buff, but Kid Rock's not. I'm kid Rock. I leave my shirt on with Robert Kennedy. 00:16:51 Speaker 5: So they both had their shirts off, and. 00:16:53 Speaker 4: So Robert Kennedy has his shirt off in jeans and work and then he does a cold plunge in the gene. 00:17:00 Speaker 2: At one point they're in the sauna. They bring the exercise bike in the sauna. One of them is planking, one of them is on the bike. 00:17:06 Speaker 4: I mean, it was very chaos. Was that heated rivalry the TV show. It's very like homoerotic in the way that they did it. It was very strange, didn't you think. 00:17:18 Speaker 6: I actually thought it was fake for the longest time because I couldn't believe that they would put that out there. I'm like looking real closely to see if the AI messes up at any point, then nope. I just surrendered to the fact that it was. 00:17:29 Speaker 4: Working out in jeans. When I go to a gym, which grading doesn't happen a lot, when I see somebody working out in jeans, my thought is that person might murder someone if you work out in jeans. I can't chug the milk was really bizarre too, Yeah, yeah they did. They chugged milk. Like if you want to have some whome milk ive had, I might have a glass. I'm with you, Shannon, that was one of those like, whoa, why did they do this? I don't know. Maha, Maha. Make America jeans again. Jerry, go ahead, Jerry. 00:18:05 Speaker 7: Hey man. 00:18:05 Speaker 8: You know, you guys are talking about people not being able to begin to Canada. And one of the things I used to do I work for the airlines and Operations, is I had to go over the Canda list every night with all the crew members that couldn't go to Canada, make sure they have somebody an augible going to Canada. And that's a real deal. I mean, it'll be amazed what they won't let people in. 00:18:22 Speaker 4: Somebody told me they will not let you go to Canada if you've had a d UI. Is that correct? 00:18:28 Speaker 9: Yeah? 00:18:28 Speaker 8: Do you? 00:18:30 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:18:31 Speaker 8: I don't know how many crazy. 00:18:33 Speaker 4: People listening to us right now who probably at some point in their life had a DUI, which is awful, But like people make mistakes. I don't I don't know if they know they can't ever go to Canada. But from what I understand, unless you get an exception, you can't go. 00:18:56 Speaker 8: It's it's called rehabilitation, and you got to pay for Katie attorney. It's about five grand and then you pay a scene where from like two hundred and eighty to twelve hundred dollars based on the crime. But the funniest crime I ever heard of is Suddy kild got candid for was we had this one Fly attendant who was a real rebel back on her college days at Berkeley in the sixties, who got arrested friend east exposure at a protest and they wouldn't let her into Canada for that. 00:19:19 Speaker 4: Wow, well, thank you, Jerry, I appreciate it. I mean I didn't realize Canaan could be like that. I mean I got detained at the Canadian Board, Yes she did. 00:19:28 Speaker 3: Oh, they're so well behaved there. Everybody in Canada. 00:19:31 Speaker 4: They detained for laughing at a fart. I don't blame That's not a joke, it's true. Drew was there. Yeah, that's I got yelled at for two and a half hours by a Canadian Mounty Mountains Part two apparently not Jo don't do it at the border what We've talked about that before. But Drew, that was a crazy couple hours. They're strict. 00:19:57 Speaker 6: Yeah, they do it for fart. I believe the d I think, Yeah, imagine you're it's been many many years. You're taking your family to see Niagara Falls. You just have no idea. You get to the border and they're like, nineteen ninety four out shows you did this. 00:20:09 Speaker 4: Honey, why can't we go to Canada? Dad, Well, your mom exposed her breast in nineteen ninety seven, and so you're not gonna be going turn around and going home. That's all right, Joey, go ahead, Joey. 00:20:23 Speaker 5: Hey man, how y'all doing doing good? 00:20:27 Speaker 9: Uh? 00:20:27 Speaker 7: I was just calling in, man. I was gonna say, I've had shingles and it's horrible. It's absolutely miserable. 00:20:33 Speaker 9: That's what i'd Anyways. 00:20:36 Speaker 7: I like Pope, dude, but do you think at the end of this season he's gonna have to let some assistance go and hurt some feelings. I mean, obviously it's not working out great form, and I get the injuries and everything, but I mean. 00:20:47 Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, somebody asked that on the postgame show, and I appreciate the call about you know, sometimes when things haven't gone great, people want to change the staff. In football, that's something that always happens. People want to change the offensive coordinated even's coordinator. My problem, Drue is I don't know what this on this staff, what these guys do. I know Cody Figer is big on on game plan I think Michael McClain is too, but I don't know what they all do. So I don't have strong feelings about the staff because I'm not really sure what each of their job responsibilities is. I'm kind of kind of the same way. 00:21:23 Speaker 6: We don't really get any access, don't see a practice, I don't really talk to anyone. We know something needs to be corrected in the game planning and how they get these starts, But as far as they need to make changes, I wouldn't know who'd even point a finger at because I don't have I don't know what each of their assignments are. 00:21:38 Speaker 4: I mean, the change needs to be a GM. That's the change, first change, and if he does not get a GM, he and Mitch deserve a ton of criticism. I tend to think they will, but I think if they're gonna do it, it's got to be in the next couple of weeks. You know, we had heard there was this job posting. It's now not online anymore. Does that mean they've hired somebody I don't know, you know? Or does that mean they decided not to hire someone I don't know, or promote one other thing. They did at one point have a job posting online, but I don't know what became of that. 00:22:19 Speaker 6: So well, even though the portal is not really until April, in two weeks, the regular season ends, and that's when people are really having a lot of conversations. Maybe it's not official, I'm in the portal, but people know at the end of the regular season what their intentions are, at least whether they want to leave or look at somewhere else. 00:22:34 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I feel like they have to. They for me, they have to more than anything else, to get a different voice in the room because it's clear what they're doing is not working. Yeah, in recruiting. So even if you end up just having a different voice that's outside of his circle, I feel like that would be positive, very positive. Yeah. If I'm nine two eight h twenty twenty seven, We'll take a break, very back KSR. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:02 Speaker 2: Now more Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:06 Speaker 3: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:07 Speaker 4: It wasn't just that he was wearing gene shit it was also jeans with a shirt off. Yeah, well he's kind of I mean, how old is he like? Is he like seventy? 00:23:18 Speaker 9: Yeah? 00:23:18 Speaker 4: I mean he's he's an amazing shape to be seventy years old. 00:23:22 Speaker 2: Maybe I need to start drinking more milk. Looking out in the sauna, I'd rather be unhealthy. 00:23:30 Speaker 4: I do like saunas, though you ever spend any time in the sauna? Right? 00:23:34 Speaker 5: I hate it? Why I can't breathe in there? 00:23:36 Speaker 4: You don't? I mean, but you don't feel better at the end, like you've sweated out all the toxins. 00:23:41 Speaker 5: I'm not stayed in long enough to sweat out any toxins. I can't breathe. I get out of there. I don't like it, not at all. With my asthma and stuff. I can't do it, can't do it, can't do it? 00:23:49 Speaker 4: What what? What health like? What sort of healthy things do you like to do? Yoga? 00:23:55 Speaker 5: TV did a lot of yoga? 00:23:57 Speaker 4: Yeah? Have you done yoga? 00:23:58 Speaker 5: Well, she's trying to get me to do some. 00:24:00 Speaker 4: Do you like it? 00:24:01 Speaker 5: I can't hardly. I'm so stiff. It's hard. 00:24:03 Speaker 4: But that's why you do is it? Overtime? It will get better? Like when I started doing it a few years ago. I could barely do anything. And then like a year later, the woman was like, look at how much better you are now that. 00:24:16 Speaker 5: You could see it. 00:24:17 Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I mean you could. She had a video of my first day and then shew it. The first day it was That was when I was like in the worst shape of my life, and I was like, I look like a beached whale trying to do it. But then I got a lot. But I haven't done it recently. I got to get back to it. But yeah, So you don't like yoga. Do you like lifting weight? Oh? No, definitely not running. No, walking, walked. 00:24:43 Speaker 5: I walked the dogs in the spring in the summer some. 00:24:46 Speaker 4: But that's just like to use the bathroom. That's not exercise. 00:24:49 Speaker 5: We make a little loop. 00:24:50 Speaker 2: You need to get serious about it, though, I mean, you need to start something. 00:24:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean. The flexibility is I mean, like they they have studies that say one of the biggest things that determines life expectancy is your flexibility. Because the more flexible you are, the likely you more likely you are to keep moving and to keep doing things. And if you become inflexible, and it starts to hurt to move, then you will do it less, which will of course hurt you. 00:25:17 Speaker 5: Yeah, I was. I guess I probably should have known this, But after a like a yoga thing one time, the next day I was couldn't believe how so I was. 00:25:23 Speaker 4: But that's the point. Yeah, and then you do it the next time and it won't be as bad, I hope, well, and you can find like I mean, it's probably as big a deal for you, but I find it peaceful. You like distract, like you're not on your phone and there's no outside you. I mean, you can just stare out in the space. That's one thing you are good. 00:25:40 Speaker 5: Goat yoga or something one time, or hot yoga. 00:25:43 Speaker 4: Goat yoga. It was hot yoga, very different. Goat yoga is goats crawling on you. I don't even get that dru To me, that seems like the stupidest thing in the world. It's very popular. 00:25:53 Speaker 6: I don't know if we haven't likened in, but I've seen Itsville, did you guys? 00:25:58 Speaker 4: Bet Kansas? Like I told you, yes, I did too much. I think Shannon and Drew picked Houston. It was on the koogs. What now it feels like Shannon, I've been saying for a year and a half, don't bet against Bill self Kansas Monday Night at home, and it felt like yesterday that became a thing all night. You heard it everywhere. 00:26:22 Speaker 5: Yep, I had a big graphic they popped up there. 00:26:25 Speaker 4: Have you ever seen that before? And that was just my internal thought. I didn't realize it was a whole thing. 00:26:30 Speaker 3: Shannon, Well, I should have been betting it. I would have won a lot of money. 00:26:33 Speaker 4: Oh and it was over quick, like Houston got up like eleven three and then Kansas just blew them out. Yeah, they it was. 00:26:41 Speaker 5: They're forty one and oh now on big Monday n your bills. 00:26:45 Speaker 4: They have not lost on Monday Night at home since two thousand and one, and they play three or four games a year on Monday Night at home. They haven't lost Drew since two thousand and one. I think they're abusing the system here. We got to stop this. 00:26:59 Speaker 6: They've figured out that teams just cannot turn around from a Saturday game, get to Lawrence and be ready. They already have the whistle and the crowd. Adding that travel aspect is just too much to overcome and it needs to be stopped. They shouldn't be allowed to go to Houston. I'd be really upset about that schedule. 00:27:16 Speaker 4: Yes, because they played at Arizona on Saturday and then had to play at Kansas on Monday. 00:27:23 Speaker 5: Now, well, arizonagain, they were at Iowa State. 00:27:26 Speaker 4: That feels unfair, doesn't it. 00:27:28 Speaker 5: Yeah? Iowa State, Arizona Kansas back to back to back on the road. 00:27:32 Speaker 6: Do teams ever just have if they're on a road swing, just have to go straight to Lawrence from wherever they were. That's gotta happen occasionally. 00:27:38 Speaker 4: But that seems I mean, I'm that's unfair to make them play at Arizona and at Kansas, which even at the beginning of the year they had to know that was would be like their two hardest games. 00:27:47 Speaker 5: At Arizona game maybe any Houston. 00:27:50 Speaker 4: Okay, but then that's less unfair. The point still stands, though. 00:27:53 Speaker 6: You got to, you know, shut off from a Saturday, potentially a late night game, and the very next morning you're off to Lawrence to get cheated by referees. 00:28:02 Speaker 4: Cheated. 00:28:02 Speaker 2: I made the mistake of betting on Kansas on a Saturday instead of a Monday. 00:28:07 Speaker 4: And a half. 00:28:07 Speaker 10: They only play well on Monday, by the way, ks R parlay Saturday, half point from hitting and it was BS. 00:28:19 Speaker 4: It was the Alabama l s U. Alabama was up nine. LSU got a meaningless layup at the buzzer and it was a seven and a half point spread and they won by seven. 00:28:28 Speaker 6: I also remember the same game UK parlay I cooked up the News would have won another winner. That's Kentucky covering the three and a half Chandler ten points in the under. 00:28:40 Speaker 4: Wow, that's crazy Chandler did cut. It feels like Chandler played awful and he still had ten points. Yeah, Lou, go ahead, Lou. Yeah. 00:28:48 Speaker 11: Man, long time listener up in Indiana called basketball for a long time. Can you hear me? Okay, yes, okay, just a couple of comments. I'm really losing I'm not alone. I'm sure I'm kind of losing interest in the current state of UK basketball. A couple of comments in regards to that. I was thinking the other day as a long time listener, as a listener and a fan, I'm not sure which would be a worst ending for UK basketball this year. If they don't make the tournament, the NCAA tournament, if they don't make the NCAA tournament, or if they get in the tournament and they lose the first game. 00:29:36 Speaker 4: No, they got to make it. There's nothing better about missing the tournament. I mean, like, what, what's what good's going to happen from missing the tournament. I mean we've only missed the tournament historically like three times in fifty years, so right, yeah, so I mean year that is not I mean I can see you saying, well, if we lose in the first round, I mean, what did we really get? What my answer would be, we got another NCAA tournament because I hav ingrained in my head the years we didn't make the tournament. And if you think about it, two of the three years we didn't make the tournament. One was the COVID year, one was the year we were going on probation, right, so you're really the year the Neurlands, and one we had a devastating injury, yeah, with Neurlands. So this would be the first year that we wouldn't have made the tournament with literally like no excuse. I mean, I guess we have a couple of smaller injuries. But so I want to make the tournament and a preseason top ten ranking. Two. Yeah, I mean I want to make the tournament, right. 00:30:45 Speaker 11: Well, yeah, I mean too. I'm just saying from a steiling standpoint as a fan, is again to feel worse any worse two. 00:30:57 Speaker 4: Like, I think the thing is if we get to the tournament, and I appreciate the call, Star, thanks for listening. If we get to the tournament, Drew, I think we can win a game or two. Like, I don't think it's crazy if we're a ten seed that we could beat the seven and give the two a game. Right now, that's all we want is a chance, something to look forward to. I mean, I do think this is a team that has the ability to punch up and beat a team that's better than that. We also could play the seven to ten game and lose by fifteen. 00:31:28 Speaker 5: You know, they could lose to night at South Carolina and then come back and beat Vandy or Florida home. 00:31:32 Speaker 4: You're exactly right. They could lose tonight at South Carolina and then come and win Saturday at home. 00:31:37 Speaker 5: Yep, against a vanity team that smoked him last time. 00:31:40 Speaker 4: That could happen. Will go ahead, will. 00:31:43 Speaker 12: Hey, guys, thank you for taking my call. I gotta get cross to Shannon. He is the man I think I had to call him four separate times because I was having phone issues. So I appreciate you, Shannon. 00:31:54 Speaker 13: I was just gonna say. 00:31:56 Speaker 12: One thing I did want to comment on. You guys were talking about a few minutes ago, have been denied entry from Canada. They are very picky on who. 00:32:05 Speaker 13: Yeah, I had. 00:32:07 Speaker 12: I believe that that. I think all I had was maybe a shop lifting on my record, my car was not in the best shape, but they denied me because said I would break down and they didn't want me trapped in their country. Now I broke down and. 00:32:25 Speaker 4: That's a bad car, would they say, probably worried you will break down in our country. That is a bad car, sir. 00:32:33 Speaker 13: Yeah, well I've had one of them. Actually, I have one that's been in the shop for about thirteen months, so you know my Well, anyway, I want to say something about this game. I think the Cats are gonna win, but I don't know if we cover. It's gonna happens a lot of play. I think we're gonna win, probably close, and all of a. 00:32:53 Speaker 4: Sudden, just want to say one thing that you get to keep bad things all right? 00:33:01 Speaker 12: It ties everything into my last call. So I believe Auburn and South Carolina are slowly becoming bigger rivals than basketball Auburn be. 00:33:11 Speaker 4: I appreciate the call. I'm not South Carolina is not a rival in basketball. It's not no name your most wonderful South Carolina basketball. 00:33:23 Speaker 6: It's actually uh sad how close they've played it lately. But that doesn't make the rivalry. They've won more than they should. 00:33:29 Speaker 4: What is our biggest win over South I remember losing some games in South Cala. That's the thing. We don't even think about the wins, expect it. The only game I can remember that was a good win against South Carolina was on the road when cow got kicked out the very beginning of the game and Tyler you listen, Kenny Payne coach, and. 00:33:47 Speaker 5: We won, and Tyler, you listen, threw a lob off the glass from Marcus Leita's stuff it. 00:33:52 Speaker 6: And after the game he's like, I would not have done that if cal had been sitting on the down. 00:33:55 Speaker 4: That's the only real South Carolina game I could even remember that we won. Maybe other people can remember others. Clark's Pumping Shop get mobile coupons and in store benefits from Clark's Pumping Shop. They got fresh beans ground for great coffee. Welcome back, TUCKI Sports Radio eight five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven texta machine seven seven two seven to seven four five two five four. One person rights, Matt, you're gonna watch the State of the Union tonight to hear your boy? No, it's during the Kentucky game. I feel like that's happened a few times years. Me very happy. I like it. I like the counter programming. 00:34:51 Speaker 6: But let's say Kentucky weren't playing. I mean, there's no distraction. I want to do some cleaning, Yeah, some tidying up. 00:34:59 Speaker 4: Yeah, got to get that chair out of your kitchen. 00:35:01 Speaker 2: I think they should show it on ESPN and put the game like in a little box on the corner. 00:35:08 Speaker 4: One person rights, Matt, what do you think about the women's team hockey team not going to the White House. Well, you know, I've always been consistent on this I would go to the White House either way, but I also understand why the women's team's not by what he said in the locker room where he was like said to the men's team, well, he didn't call the women's team when they won, and then the men's team he said like, well, I guess I have to invite the women too, So I can see why they'd be like, I don't want to go. I don't blame the men's team for going. There's people saying they shouldn't go in solidarity with the women, they ought to go. I mean a lot of these dudes, this is their best moment of their life. So I'm fine with them going. I would I would go if I was on the men's team, but I understand why the women wouldn't want to after he kind of made that remark, So. 00:35:54 Speaker 5: Yeah, I can see why they're standing up for the rights of he ate treated it that way. 00:35:58 Speaker 4: I mean, he was just he was trying to be fun. But when you didn't call them and they won first, and they won first, and then you say like, oh, I guess I got to invite the women's team, I can see why they'd be like, well, we don't have to go. I would go if I were them, but I understand why they wouldn't. 00:36:12 Speaker 6: Yeah, whoever is in office, I don't see the teams, whether Super Bowl incident or whatever. I don't see that as any political endorsement or anything. That's just part of you win in something big in America, you get the White House trip. 00:36:23 Speaker 4: Yeah, Shannon, I hate to tell you this, but uh, Fazoli's no, no, no, The two longest open, Fazoli's and Lexington are both closing. The Richmond Road. 00:36:41 Speaker 5: One which was the original. 00:36:43 Speaker 4: Was that the original, that was the original. 00:36:44 Speaker 5: That's where Greg punk Gorm was the first ever Bretchtick. 00:36:46 Speaker 4: Boy, you always tow that at the end, uh part of history. It is hanging up that it's closing. And then the one on Nicholsville Road in Zandale closing. I think those were the first too. 00:37:01 Speaker 6: The one on campus has been closed a while, the one on Broadway has been closed. 00:37:05 Speaker 3: Well, luckily I live in Louisville. We still have a. 00:37:09 Speaker 12: Rig. 00:37:11 Speaker 4: Like you should close the original one. I mean when I think of I think of that one on Richmond Row. Yes, that was the one that was the one with the breadsticks and the happiness and the joy. 00:37:21 Speaker 2: I tried to help them platter. Hey, I would have endorsed them years ago. We could have stopped this from happening. We could have brought them on the show. You would have I think, my voice on this show spreading the joy of Fazoli's to everybody would have saved their company. 00:37:35 Speaker 4: By the way, Mario got his first endorsement. Have you heard about this? 00:37:38 Speaker 11: No? 00:37:38 Speaker 3: What do you get? 00:37:39 Speaker 4: Mario got his first endorsement. As he described it to me, it's it's a goat farm, a goat festival. So Mario is doing ads for a goat festival. 00:37:52 Speaker 3: In Louisville, the goat man festival. 00:37:54 Speaker 4: Is that is it called goat man festival? 00:37:56 Speaker 3: There is a goat man festival, the. 00:38:00 Speaker 4: New lou Bakfest. So what's that have to do with goats? 00:38:03 Speaker 3: They have goat races there. Okay, so they do have goat races, Yeah, I think so. 00:38:08 Speaker 4: So the New lou Bach Festival. I don't know what that means. But Mario's cutting his first ad today. He's very nervous. He wore his glasses, he's dressed up. You don't seem very excited. What's wrong? Okay? This is like this is gonna be This is the start of a whole new life for you. Look what it's done for Ryan. 00:38:32 Speaker 3: Mario is gonna be running with the goats. 00:38:33 Speaker 4: Mario gets the Goat Festival New lou Bak. 00:38:38 Speaker 3: They are running with the goats. 00:38:39 Speaker 4: I know you do run with the goat. 00:38:41 Speaker 6: Yes, there's a big history there, the whiskey thiefs on Nanny Goat Strut his name of the street. 00:38:47 Speaker 4: Explain to me what happens. Do people run with goats? Yeah? 00:38:50 Speaker 2: I think they have goat races, but the people kind of I think encourage the goats and run alongside them. 00:38:55 Speaker 4: Oh that's great, Mario, you can run with the goat on Nanny Goat Strut. 00:39:00 Speaker 5: I you're gonna be the endorser. You've got to go all in and make step. 00:39:04 Speaker 4: If you do a good job on this next thing, you know. 00:39:07 Speaker 3: You'll be doing horse racing. 00:39:09 Speaker 4: You're going to be doing dude wipes. 00:39:10 Speaker 3: I mean, you're going to be doing all that should be me, dude, Actually you. 00:39:14 Speaker 4: Should do it. Well, good luck. I'm excited. It's your first endorsement, Very very exciting. Let's go to Jacob. 00:39:21 Speaker 9: Go ahead, Jacob, Hi, good morning, Matt, I hope he's no better soon. I wasn't expecting to talk about gouch day post an incredibly painful disease. I've had broken bones that are less painful. But I have a two good questions. How concerned argue that the Jami deal, which may have contributed to the struggles with high story recruiting, well that possably have similar harpeful effects on the team's ability to bring in players to the transport portal. And then, secondly, given the popes like apparent dissatisfaction with Nil and the current recruiting environment, I think it might be possible that you might decide to leave to go after an NBA job. We're gonna just focus solely on coaching and player development. 00:39:58 Speaker 4: Uh No, to the second one, I don't think he would get an NBA job even if he did on the first one. Yeah, I'm concerned about it. Let's see what happens. That's my view, you know, see what happens. 00:40:14 Speaker 5: I think you have to be concerned. 00:40:15 Speaker 4: The way it's played out, I mean, the way it's played out, you have to be concerned. But let's see what happens. I mean, I think I appreciate the call. This is the this Transfer Portal season to me is the ultimate test of can Mark Pope recruit in this new environment? Remember this is the first official complete rev Share Yeah right, So let's take a step back. The portal's been open for a few years, and in aisle's been a few years. But before you could just sort of blank check it and you could get one donor to write a check. Now this is the year where getting real Nile deals and having companies on board and all of this. This is the first year that really matters. This year with this high school class and this transfer portal. We've already struck out on the high school class and it has been at best awful. Yeah, we live zero people and at worst a complete disaster. All right, now here comes the portal. People who want to defend what's happened so far will go, look, we're focused on the portal. I don't believe that because they tried to recruit these people. But nevertheless, now you get the judgment. Can Kentucky and Mark Pope recruit in the revshare era? 00:41:49 Speaker 5: That's the million dollar question. Haven't proved it yet. 00:41:53 Speaker 4: And this is the first test, and we have failed step one high school kids. Now it's transfer portal. And if we get to June and we miss all our top targets again, well then the question has been answered. Yes, and it's just who deserves the blame, which we'll have to wait and see. But yes, April and May for me is huge about the future of Kentucky basketball. We'll take a break.
