Regarding Margie (S17E20)

Four Finger Discount (Simpsons Podcast)

Marge loses her memory and no longer recognises Homer, leaving him trying to help her fall in love with him all over again. Almost a fantastic, heartfelt ending, however they shit the bed in the last 30 seconds.

You idiot. Yah, do you know what you just gave up? Who
the hell are you the wisest, wettest man you'll ever meet? Go On,
you just walked away from the sweetest, most beautiful woman a guy could
want. In ten years, she never had the last slice of pizza,
and she's never complained every election. She wishes she could vote for both guys
because they both seem nice and there's a light inside her that makes everyone else
look better. And you blew her off, dude, She's got three kids.
Really well, she's still great. Four finger discount due. Welcome to
Fourthing your Discounts where this week we're going to be reviewing the episode regarding Maggie,
I'm at It and I Am Guy. Welcome to the episode. A
very season seventeen episode. One might say I liked this one up until the
point at the end, like I didn't. I actually thought, in my
nose, this was actually the best version of Himer we've had this season until
the last twenty seconds, Like they just couldn't help themselves, like Tummy at
one point in this episode where Hammer was a bad husband. Look, you've
got a good point. For some reason that it felt to me like him
trying to win Marge back was not necessarily out of love, was more sort
of like out of wounded pride or something like that, which makes sense.
I guess what makes you say that because because everyone else, everyone else was
remembered and you felt like, oh, I'm being left out, you know,
and he sort of he was doing all his various things to try and
win her back. But I don't know, none of it felt sincere.
Maybe I am just sort of tainted by a lot of recent episodes we've had
where Homer has just been a dick. I mean maybe, and this episode
to some degree felt like, you know, the Simpsons stuff, recognizing that
and pointing out and messing around with it and having a bit of fun with
it and maybe saying, well, yeah, maybe we maybe we could break
them up or something along those lines. What did Homer do to win Marge
back that you feel like you wouldn't have done? Just say, Louise lost
her memory and you couldn't and she wanted her to remember you to grab for
a nice dinner, took her back to their first date, treat her to
flowers and gifts, and then gave her the space she needed when she wasn't
quite ready. Okay, yes that's true. I don't know yet. I'm
not saying I wish I had to explained why this episode sort of rubbed me
the wrong way. It's just I don't know why I did. I mean,
it's not one that I hated, and it's not one that I even
kind of like, oh, this feels lazy, although I mean one of
my notes is is this going anywhere? Because I think it took a very
long time for them to sort of reach the even if it didn't actually take
that long in actual time, if we're like this first bit is going on
forever and it's kind of like a whole bunch of oven. I've really enjoyed
the opening act. I thought it was a believable and really simple home as
scheme that I could buy into, like he's getting in the mail of somebody
else and and he's just not telling anybody about it. It reminded me of
when we had the last one, where we had The Frozen mail Man,
where the opening act was just like it could have been a story in or
something. I thought that the idea of Homer getting someone else's mail and living
their life and then Marge I thought Marge joining in eventually, and then them
trying to keep it a secret from the kids that they're living this double life
on the side as this other couple could have been a story in itself.
I actually didn't mind that you're reading a lot more into it than I did.
To me, it just felt like, Okay, yeah, they're getting
someone else's mail and occasionally taking advantage of it. But oh no, No,
it just felt like it was spinning its wheels for the longest time until
the inciting incident of Marge losing her memory. Because that happened like the four
minute mark, the Marge losing her memory. Wow, because it felt a
lot longer to me. No, yeah, because she because she had lost
her memory before the end the first act. Okay, because it ends with
Homer one of my favorite moments. I'll get to that, but it ends
with her in hospital. But yeah, I've got to go here. I'm
really enjoying his opening acts and feel like they could have stretched this out.
They really wanted to two more of like an a plot for an episode and
have a beplot sort of as filler as well. But I just think the
idea of Homer and Marge living this double life and the side by getting by
getting the incorrect mail and not telling them about it is. I was all
for it. I liked it. I liked that idea in theory, I
really don't, I mean the whole Okay, yeah, we've got we've got
the Yeah, I'm better blow one of my trivia questions. We've got their
mail. We got the wine coolers mail. It's like, oh wow,
they're getting nice steakes and oh they read they read these fancy magazines. Oh
they got invited to a wedding and all this kind of suthings like yeah,
maybe the grass is green on the other side, and you know this kind
of stuff. You pitched it very well. Say now I'm thinking about it's
like, oh yeah, because my theory is that's like you could have Lisa
saying you can't I've been doing this, and all of a sudden, this
extra couple that they've been getting the mail of has a daughter who gets like
pony writes subscription or something. Lisa's like, but you know, I couldn't
enjoy writing ponies, and Lisa buys in as well, and all of a
sudden, the Simpson's family living this double life as this winegarten. There's the
answer question, wine gun. They become and you have the wine gardens and
they're living their own life as the wine guns. Well I wish, yeah,
I wish they'd done that. Now, I wish I wish they'd been
the whole episode. I think, I think another thing that kind of rubbed
me the wrong way. And this is this is very much a my problem,
not the show's problem, everyone else's problem. Marge losing a memory by
way of of a bit of a shadowt to Million Dollar Baby, the Clinicswood
movie where Hillary Swank is the boxer. I mean, do you lose a
memory by clonking her head on the on the stool. If you've seen Million
Dollar Baby, it's maybe from two thousand and four. Hillary Swanks a boxer.
She's, you know, one of the Best Actress Award for that film.
She won the best actually one of the Best Actress oscar for that absolutely
spoiler, but she's in the ring. She gets king hit from behind,
falls down, hits her head, hits her neck on a stool, ends
up quarter replegic. It's it's a really good movie, but it's so fucking
depressing. I mean, I remember I remember watching it not long agoing,
oh my god, this is just bumming out for the rest of the day.
So yeah, for for March to sort of lose her memory in that
way, I'm like, not exactly, yucks. But anyway, as I
said, my problem, I think I will say that I had here his
little a little nippick for this episode was that it seemed a little off that
Marge would be throwing Home out of his own house because she doesn't remember him.
But then my defense for it was maybe they're sort of pitching a Homer
is just willing to give us some space until she remembers him. But you
know, the kids, they clearly are sort of saying too much, No,
he is dad, Like you know it's yeah, and there would be
proof, there would be photos and there would be histories. Like just because
you don't remember it doesn't mean that he's not your husband. I do get
the fact that you don't might not love him anymore, but you don't really
remember him. But it's like, clearly here is the father of these children.
Another thing too, I wanted to touch on we mentioned it earlier,
was the ending here, So you had Homer coming to Marge's defense, which
I think is honestly one of the better Homer moments we've had in a very
long time, because he did all of that defending Marge to this stranger without
any idea that she was even listening, just doing it because he's just like,
she is the best woman in the whole fucking world. How could you
possibly do this to her? And then they ruin that by having that last
twenty seconds of her remembering me. Because you get drunk all the time and
you're own enabler. Of course I am, and that's why we're a perfect
couple. I'm like your letter the plane. And then you started to get
a crushed into the ball, like what are you doing? Like you had
you had your ending, You had it right there, you just had to
reach for it and you kicked it away. Why why? That's when that's
when you put up the active abuse of credits, and that's when you started
running the closing credits. That's when you have the doo doo doo doo doo
year because we don't need that last Yeah what was it ten fifteen seconds?
Yeah, well, actually close to the thirty seconds of yeah, all there,
you get drunk all the time. You enabled me I'm now we're driving,
you're drunk right now? Sure I am? It's oh man, so
yeah, it's like I forgot it was season seventeen for a saying you had
me, you had me? Why you're you lost us? Like, oh
boy, just can't help yourself. You're fucking just cannot help yourself. You
have a perfect fucking ending for the story and you fucked it. Why?
God, I was angry. I was so fucking angry. I got to
the end. I was like, what a lovely little sentiment, sentimental endingy
flat. We haven't had these for a long Oh wait a minute, I'm
was drunk driving in Margins the Enablo Okaya? Was this episode codependent da because
you wouldn't fock know the difference between these two endings. Horrors. Honestly,
I was really angry, and you shouldn't get this angry an animated show.
But when you're reviewing this show every single week, and very rarely do you
get the moments for success when it comes to like a truly sentimental ending that
felt well earned, and then they fucked it? Why? And maybe that's
why I know you said, yeh didn't like the story throughout, but I
feel like that ending would have left like a full stop on your negative thoughts
in the episode, because it would have left you with a bad frame of
mind. If I had ended with the sentimental ending, you may have gone,
oh no, it wasn't that great, but at least we had the
ending at the end. But because it ended with that shit, you're just
like, oh, well, fuck this episode. You know that's true.
Yeah, when you stick the landing, it's it's easy to forgive anything or
not anything, but many of the faults and have come before it. And
you're right. I mean, that was a touching sentiment and a very nice
way to sort of wrap things up and to you know, get back into
the status quo. But it seems like there's a lot of meanness in some
of these recent episodes, like yeah, just a bit of a bit of
a mean spirited feel to them in some parts, and that ending there right
to me, I'm just thinking about this right now. How would you end
it? Because Margine needs to get her memory back, she needs to remember
home before the end of episode ends. You could go of what they went
with and have the fact that she admits that she's an enabler and that's why
she's the perfect wife for Homer because he's an idiot. Or you could have
her over listening in on him talking to this guy without him realizing, and
her going, I remember you now because you're the only person who truly understands
me. Fucking that's it. Done and yeah and it all walk off into
the sunset with the fucking sea breeze and a nice little song in the background.
Done. Fuck me, it's not that hard, guys, as as
he as Marge hears him saying these nice things about it. Cut in a
few flashback bits. Cut cut to them in high school. Cut to them,
you know, being all lovey dovey and all that kind of play the
get close to you, that that their song is close to you, play
that like, fuck you has it right there? You could you could see
it, and it looks it's it's an easy lab and it's and it's very
uh. Yeah, it touches us when we want to be touched, so
to speak. Yeah, but no, you did it another way and the
wrong way. There was a it was a fifteen centimeter part and you pulled
out your driver. Honestly, just like, fuck me, I was just
like, what is happening of all the things to have done. You did
it, like, I just didn't get it. I was just like,
the fuck. But the episode up to that point I really enjoyed. Honestly,
I really really enjoyed it. But man, they screwed that ending.
My favorite What were your favorite moments from regarding margin, mister, mister Simpson,
mister Davis, that's Simpson. My goodness. Look, I did have
one, but I didn't enjoy. It's when Homer is basically being kicked out
of the house and he's got the speaking. That's about like classics, classic
Simpsons to me. It really did like that works with hiccups, not have
kneed, still keeps trying regardless, and at the end I got a bit
of a kick out of that. Yeah, you got a kick out of
Mode answering you around in the sewich. Should we tell him? Let him
enjoy the man? I think he struck oil and Homer, what have you
done to my face? Next question? You're there eating the paste, all
right? Hit me with your first question. Oh, I've already sort of
blind one like who's ma were they getting? And the mistaken name that Homer
gives them? So what kind of hair does the maid find? Not not
not a nice straight one. What is the curly one? She had a
particular name for it. I thought she said it curly here, I know
what what did she say? Did she did have a name for it?
What was it? It was a curly whirly, A curly whirly? Yes,
okay, delicious che But you know, also, you don't want to
find a pube. I feel like pubic hair and pube like they're so different,
Like if I found a pubic hair, but okay, if I've had
a puber, like, yeah, a pube. You do think anyone outside
Astray uses the term pubes? Let us know, listeners Simpson's mailbag at gmail
dot com, do you guys use pubs as well? Pubes is our term
for pubic care. We don't say pubic. We shortened everything. I know
many countries shortened things, but we like to shorten everything, So public care
is just pubes. I've heard Nicholas ay pubs, but she's also lived in
Australia for a decade, so maybe that's what she's I just can't imagine our
American friends saying, oh, yeah, pubes us. We'd love to we'd
love to hear from you, guys. Tell us. How do you define
how do you define pubic hair? What is your remember it? It doesn't
really seem to be all that popular these days. People are getting rid of
it. Yeah, it's all gone. Yeah, laser surgery, bam,
see you later. My first question is what transformer was our homer in the
opening couch gag? This would proclude my knowledge of transformers. I'm going to
say Optimist Prime. No, no, Megatron, you idiot, there's Optimist
Prime. I put the easy one for you. I'm like, this response
will be I don't know transformers, but I only know Optimus Prime. And
if you did that, and just like the Simpsons, you fucked it.
Well, here's a much in my notes. I'm like, I've written down,
Okay, the title is this the board gag? Is this couch Voltron
question mark? Oh man? All right, what's your next question? Ned's
cat's birthdays on the same days as who's ah Patty LaBelle some thing of Patty
LaBelle? M. My next one is the stakes are from? Where?
Oh omahu m correct? What on? Hey? Nice one. I'm not
sure if we've got any more questions. I've gone on point in case you
can find one more. I've got who when side show malon, who is
he even talking to its sea captain? Sea captain, that's right, yes,
I've got my notes. But for that part, okay, I feel
like feels like Sea Captain's becoming like another side show Malle. It's like the
shoehorning him into everything. Now yeah, okay, So Sarcha mel is on
whose shoulders? That's my question, Disco disco stew No, no, I
think of channel six. I think of Channel six. I think of the
episode we just record a sexual frishman pander or a whacky mascot or a wacky
character. Oh oh oh, bumblebee man, bumblebee man. Yes, oh,
because yeah, the sea Captain is on death man shoulders. Yes,
correct, yes, because death men bet on the wrong horse or something says
something on those lines. Yeah. All right, what's your next question?
If you have any other ones for me, I've got one more. I
don't have any more, so give me yours. What were the three little
products that are Marge used to create a little concoction that coursed her to pass
out? Oh gosh. One was called zug lemon centered zud zud, a
bramo or a brazo, a braise it, a braise it and oh gosh,
what was the third one? Was mop and brag, Mop and brag,
that's right and brag. I'm just reading to Wikipedia page here too,
by the way, So apparently it guest starred sal Bando and Gene Tennis or
Tennis as themselves and they are part of the seventy four Oakland Tenland. A's
all right. So the chop all gag was I will not leak the plot
of the movie, which no timey little chalk gag then, because the movie
was soon to come out in two thousand and seven, so I still a
year away though, but I guess by this time they're already announced that they
were working on the movie. And I remember at the time it was very,
very exciting. It's very exciting for a Simptons fan, despite the fact
that it was well past the point of peak Simpsons, still felt excited that
we're finally gonna get the Simpsons on the big screen. But the catch gag
was the Transformer one we were mentioning earlier as well with Homer as I think
I think it means Vultron, which one came first, Vultron Orld Transformers.
I wonder which no idea. Let's got a Vultron. I'm gonna google this,
Vultron or Transformers. Which came first? Vultron or Transformers first? The
answer is Vultron was the first, premiering in nineteen eighty one as Beast King
Go Lion. Transformers Series one premier in American syndication in nineteen eighty four after
the release of the toy line. They've both continued in one form or another
between the late twentieth and early twenty first century. There's a great episode of
the Toys That Made Us brought to you by our man Brian vock White.
So we interviewed on the podcast late last year, so if you haven't listen
to the interview, make sure we do. So. The toys that made
us in the movies that made us just like simple almost like pop up video
TV, isn't it. But it's a really good episode, but very informative.
Yeah, there's a really good episode about the Transformers actionline, and it's
good one about poweringeres as well, the Powrangeress ones. It's incredible the story
behind that. But yeah, check out the Toys that made Us. The

the description of this podcast. Yeah So. The episode was written by Mark
Wilmore and directed by Mark Mike Frank Polcino. The episode kicks off with Bart
Millhouse and Nelson spray painting the addresses on the gutters of people around Springfield.
I remember this specifically happening to us, where a guy came to our door
and he was like, I've just painted your number. Is when I lived
with my mum, when I was like a teenager, just painted the number
of the house on your gutter. It's it's ten dollars. And I was
like, did mum and dad say you could do that? No, No,
it's just the thing we do, and you just pay the ten dollars.
And I was like, why don't have ten dollars? He goes,
okay, he's my dad home. I'm like, no, okay, then
do you know what time they're going to be home? I'm like no.
I'm like, you can't just come to someone's house paint something on their fucking
property, which is not I guess the gutter is not technically our property.
It's the cancels. But it's like you gotta just paint something there and say,
all right, now you're going to pay me money. It's like me,
what, yeah, but this literally happened to me. The guy was
like, okay, well, do you know where theyre going home? I'll
come back And I was like, no, you fucking won't. No,
you won't. If that if you're a bonaparte, leave an invoice, yeah,
yeah, and your contact details so we can come to your place.
Mo rocks out the front with a gun that he thinks he's firing, but
it actually goes off on its own and he thinks the classes up and joint
having the number there, and he shoots into the ground by accident strikes our
sewage but looks like oil. They say, just let him have his moment.
Ned then offers some honest work for honest pay by painting his garage,
like no, we don't want that, and he tries to hand him from
Christian comics as well. I didn't get the names of the comic books.
I apologize. Then Homer reforms called pious something like that. Yeah. Hammer
refuses to pay, so they said we're gonna leave you one digit short,
and Hommer then screws it up because it says seven to four and should have
written two. He put zero. But he turned into Oakland A's best team
ever and listens like what are you doing? Does like what one number?
And then the Oakland A's come pass and give him a honk, but then
he rubs it off and the post lady, she's very confused. She delivers
a package of mail order stakes from Omaha to Scott and Brenda Winegarten and as
Homer calls him, Brendan Wine call Brenda wine cooler. Yes, by then
questions in shorts, I think I want to be eating or going through other
lippers mail, and it justifies, you know, all this time we're getting
all this ship mail. I'm finally getting which people mail and Home in bart
no one can rationalize, like you Dad. Then mart Ufer's Marge an invitation
to a wedding. So at this point Marge isn't aware that it's not their
invitation, is not their not their wedding, which I guess kind of dumbs
it down a little bit. But anywhare they go to the wedding for Mark
and Tracy and Marks Like I thought he's blind, but he's so confident with
these movements. This is Kent Brackman and the Springfield Keys reporting to you from
the middle of a hurricane. The lid from my coffee cup is long gone.
Girl. I'm scared, people, truly scared. Take that liberal media.
Then Marge wins in it what she gets the mail for the cleanup Clean
for a Day contest, And I was like, the only thing here is
well Marge got the mail she would have seen on the front that has said
Brenda Winegarten list. See. I thought when Home was talking about the wedding
invitation that Marge was a sort of already in on it. It seemed that
way, didn't it. Yeah, yeah, it's a better way to get
to where they got to by having Marge sort of no, and then go,
but look at this. Cool things we're getting, much like ooh,
that's how that's I think the story of that episode should have been everyone's saying,
you can't do this, but look at this. You might like this,
right, I would like that. Actually, let's go, let's go
along with this, and one by one each family member gets hooked on it,
you know, because yeah, it's very relatable everyone. Everyone's kind of
susceptible to, you know, the grass being greener on the other side,
and you know, here's a nice way to roll around in that sweet green
grass. Did you have you ever received the rom mail? And how tempted
were you to open it? I've received the numerous times because we have a
nineteen like the street over and they're constantly because our side of street, the
way it works is sort of like a block, but in between the block,
there's like a road that goes in from one side to the other,
so it's like a square, and then like houses around the outside of the
where but through the middle of it is. There's a light street that goes
through which also has a nineteen, so we're constantly get in the nineteenth for
that house. I'm just like, so I'm constantly like delivering it to the
point I regon once every three weeks we get in their mail. Here's the
thing. Here are two separate stories sort of related, okay, ones and
anecdote and wants the story. The thing it is. I live at seventeen
such and such street. I just don't want you all the fans of four
kinge oh no. But I'm on the corner of these two streets. So
I'm number seventeen of this street, but there's number seventeen of the other street
that's right next to me. It's fucked, You're it's honestly fucked. It's
it's kind of fucked. So it's real like it's guys on the corner.
Yet the house next door to him is the same night as fucked it is.
And now there have been many occasions when it's like, I didn't order
this, U breeds, but oh man, should I have it? Oh
God, that smells so good. But no, I'm always going, but
yeah, have you hadst delivered to your house by accident. Oh yeah,
the next doors. And I'm like, I didn't order this, but no,
it smells so good. No, no, it's it's next door.
You have to go that way, okay, f I No, Well,
so there we go. I've got I've received mail occasionally and he has popped
in the mailbox next door or whatever. But the other thing is, if
we're talking about the wrong person's mail, different story. Listen to the show.
I'm not sure if Danda kept this in. He's pretty good with the
editing. He probably just said this is boring, I'm cutting it out.
But during a recent recording, the problem with poplars and I left that in.
The delivery man arrived and I'm like, oh, this is that thing
I ordered. It's in a package. It's I mean I ordered a pair
of socks. This is a bit bigger than a pair of socks. Being
very wasteful with the packaging. If you want to hear that shit, it's
available right now on our Patreon for Taylor the Future. I'm it's hilarious.
So like basically ends with me saying, all right, keep it. I'll
give you fifty percent of what it's worth. I'll give it nickel for a
boat paid person. Here's the thing, Hyeah, did you actually do it?
It's a woman's shirt and a pair of leggings. I'm like with these,
may says the color was very nice. The lovely Luise has been going
gang buses on the eBay recently, you know, selling items for clothing and
that kind of Well, honey, I received these these items, you know,
by mistake. How about you put on my knee bay if we sell
on make a lot of money. Then I got an email from the organization
that I that I bought the stuff from, saying we believe there has been
some mistake with delivery because yeah, the outside envelope had my address on it.
The inside receipt had the person's name on it. So the person who
never heard of a company doing it before, like the follow up. Usually
it's just like I said him another one. They said, you a follow
up, and what happened? They send me the follow up? Yeah,
and I'm like worries. I went to lu and I said, I've think
I think the jig is up. I think this is pre emptive calma,
you know, so I'm gonna have to get these We couldn't find them.
Oh shit, I've taken the I've taken the clothes over to lose and she
you know, we're going over see she's doing a big clean up. It's
a bit like this. It's a bit like this episode as well, because
you know she's got a house that are coming over. The house has got
to be immaculate before, you know, the stranger clean the house with the
cleaner. Yeah, so you know, everything had been put away and we're
looking all over that we we eventually found it was like, oh my god,
if their last we're so screwed. Not so squad, but this thing.
What are they going to do? They it's not none of this is
your fault. I know it. If you do have it with your my
seeing it back, they can't actually threaten you with anything like they sent you
the wrong thing. That's their fucking problem. It's a their problem. Exactly.
In the end, we found them. I took them into the store
and geelong, I said, it's your problem now shipping back to thing.
Come out of this, Lead me out of this. And the girl behind
the canna put it in her bag and took her home and she's currently wearing
them on the first date that is career and I'm still screwed. They're gonna
take my thumbs. The thing is, though, if you hadn't done anything
about it, it's like you said, karma, you would have got to
the airport and would have gone, oh, we're really sorry, so but
we actually accidentally feeled your seat. We have no room on this plane for
you. Would you mind wedding another couple of weeks? Like that's that's karma
would have got you back somehow. It would have been some Final Destination ship
or something. They should totally do you reckon. Final Destination is available on
planes as a movie to watch, Oh my god, what's the episode?
If you'll look it over and seeing someone watch Final Destination on the plane,
don't have In the episode of The Simpsons when I think when oh, you
know, it's like, hey, here all these movies you could watch,
and was like Alive, We're a plane clashes or Feelers, We're a plane
crashes. That maybe like check out these got their fear of flying, they'll
check out these great movies. It's probably when Marge is a fear of flying
that might have been the one. Yeah, I think so they've all got
these inspirational titles like Alive and fearless. Maybe the homely Likes buys rents movies
for Marge to watch to overcome a fear of flying. That's probably what the
game I think. Yeah, I don't know. They go there's been somebody
who's just being an idiot who's watched Fine Ones the Nation or what's another airplane
crash movie, like a big one? Oh gosh, oh die had to
die? Had to Yeah, okay, Conair catching a flight to Las Vegas.
But anyway, so Marge is cleaning up the house because she gets the
clean for a Day contest. She's going to get someone to come to the
house and clean that the house. Homer denies that that they's actually getting the
fake mail, and then we get Brenda at the door, and that's the
end of that basically, And isn't it. It's just feels like there was
so much more to explore there and they just didn't do it. But Marge
then cleans before the cleaner arrives, and she's a vision of what she thinks
the cleaners talk about when when they're working. Then she sees a spill on
the law, which is a combination of maple syrup baby spit, and I
believe shoes scuff or something on those lines, and there's a ring at the
door. She don't let that judgment or bitch in my house. And then
she creates a little concoction the fumes of course her to pass out. She
hits her head on the chair, which is the Million Dollar Baby reference.
She wakes up in the hospital and she feels like she's being punched by a
boxing man, which was in case you didn't get the reference before. And
but the thing is, though, if you hadn't seen Million Dollar Baby,
even with March saying that, you still wouldn't get the joke. Like,
I don't think so, no, I mean, I mean it was a
popular movie at the time, but I mean, yeah, Hillary's hitting her
head on the hitting her neck on the stool is not necessarily it's like,
wow, a magic movie moment. It's not necessarily something that everybody remembers.
And in case you weren't aware, Hibot is officially doctor Nick now holding up
the fingers in a jar. I'm just like, this is not the Hibot
from the night here is long as Rogman says, doctor Hibott from the Golden
Area is long gone. Marge has lost her memory. She's opening her eyes.
Oh, my head feels like it was punched by a boxing man.
How many fingers are my hole to go? Oh? Very good, Now
I'll put them back in the jar. Now I have a question. Who
are you people? She doesn't recognize us, You munster? What have you
done to my face? We cut after commercial. Marge is reading Amnesia monthly
with tips on finding your way home on the back pages, has a brain
with a question mark over it, and he explains that Marge has retro grade
amnesia and you need to jog her memory, oh jugging, and then something
to turn your amnesia too. I'll make it so your amniia go scramnesia and
private private room for her, come as the man who's sleeping, and she
thinks of Hummers, her uncle. And she said, how like there's so
much more ravage than I am. And the kids like explain who they are?
And I'm your favorite. I don't think I could never have a favorite.
And he talked to me in a week and bart what's across bike?
And she says, even though I'm quite amnesia, I'm got an idiot.
Then there was time to go home though, because the insurance company they said
you're as well as we're gonna pay for but then talks down their house and
home starts choking. I think you can almost put the choking to bed now,
right, It's almost like they're acknowledging how silly it was. I mean,
in the nineties it felt it fits the show, but now it doesn't
anymore. Yeah. I think when the show first started, like, oh,
this family is just like you, and you know, you'd never have
a family on TV that would be like, oh, I got a corporal
punishment this kid. Yeah yeah, And of course the Simpson took it to
extremes, but yeah, now and now it does feel kind of played out.
It's like it's almost like see the Lane or Choke the Sun. We
now have a tour of the town, almost driving her around, choke her
memory again. We get side show Mela McAlister on top of the shoulders,
a deaf man and bumblebee man and I'll just go here, what mccallister's here?
Now we're going on here, And of course these sides show mail moment
for the episode. I can't record the last episode We've gone without him having
a piece of dialogue. But they're fighting over what was the best type of
Cherry, I think, and they're March points out, why is it drugs?
Maraschino, yes, and then March points out why is it drug add
it driving a school bus? And I'm like, it's almost like it's a
Frank Grimes scene here, where it's just like someone in the real world going
to Spriver and going what the fuck, like pointing out how absurd this town
actually is in all. Honestly, I think you only need a Frank Grimes
episode once in the show's entire run. But the thing is, though,
by the time season seventeen to come around, there would have been a generation
who may not even remember the Frank Grimes episode. That's that's nearly ten years
prior. Okay, if you put it that way, because it's honestly,
I put The Simpsons on and it pains me at the moment because the kids
aren't quite old enough to really understand it. But when we were a kids
growing up the nine, it's the Simpsons were appealing. Some of it was
a lot of it was the humor, but most of all, it was
just these this cartoon on television. They know they're yellows. They looked different.
It was like you looked at the visuals and you found that funny.
But kids in twenty twenty three, like Home Holly and an Alliott. They
don't want to watch a show that has ninetient emotions. They want to have
a show that it was crisp and clean and HD. So they enjoy watching
the new ones because they look better. When they get older, they'll appreciate
the old ones more, but at the moment, they like these new ones.
So it's it's made me. It's made me sort of see these new
episodes and the different likes. I'm just like, Okay, there would have
been kids who grew up with these episodes that we're currently reviewing season seventeen,
and they have that nostalgia for them as well. Just because we didn't grow
up with them and we didn't like it because it wasn't the way we grew
up with doesn't necessarily mean they're bad. I mean, we've gone back and
they're are. They're not great, but they're also maybe not necessarily for meat.
Because I'm comparing it to what I grew up with. You, You've
got to really see it from both sides. It's not just they're bad because
I don't like it. It's I don't like it for these reasons as opposed
through they're bad doesn't mean just because I didn't like it doesn't mean they're bad.
As what I'm trying to say, You're exactly right. I mean,
and it's a tough one, you know. Was he you know, get
a little older, it's like, oh yeah, I mean, well the
sentence did it perfectly? It was like, am I wrong? No?
The children are out of touch? And I mean, yeah, you've got
to recognize that. No, nothing's going to be as enjoyable as you know
the first time you saw it, or you know, the first time that
you encounter something. I mean. I mentioned that with Mitch on our latist
of Reviews talking about Temple of Doom. How I mentioned, with your Temple
of Doom and I didn't really enjoy it as much as I did when I
was a kid. And he mentioned Superman four and he's like, Superman four
will always be his favorite Superman because it was the first Superman that he saw.
And it's true, the first one you see of a kind of That's
why Temple of Doom will always be my favorite, regardless of what I think
of it now, is because it was my introduction to Indiana Jones. You
know, yeah, absolutely. I wonder if there's people out there who like
Return of the Jedi more than the first two Star Wars films, because that
was the first one they saw. Possibly. I mean that last one was
really targeted towards kids, with the ewaks and stuff very much. So,
I mean, this is this year is the fortieth anniversary of Return of the
Jedi, and there are a lot of restrospective pieces, and yeah, more
than a feel of them were saying this is my favorite Star Wars movie.
And of course, you know, yeah, you know Star Wars heads going,
this person's a full But Nicola liked it the most. When when we
watched Star Wars the first time, she walked out and she goes, I
think the last one was the best one. I was like really and she's
like yeah, yeah, she's like the most fun and the good guys won,
and I was like, oh, put it that way, I guess
to reach their own man. Yeah. But they get home the Simpsons and
Hen points out the sun and never touch it and then they hear Maggie and
I've just got here. So who was watching Maggie? Oh boy? But
it was ned there at that stage, ned was outside the window. Oh
okay, Maggie just walks in from the living area and there's no oh boy,
there's no one sort of reference to who was watching her. But she
hears Maggie the sucking sound, and she remembers Maggie. Then Lisa a little
know it all, and she hears Millhouse is like tost tolerant, tolerant,
and she remembers that as Bar's best friends, he's not a who was Bart's
friend or something? Anyway, You're not my best friend? Now who's got
amnesia? And I'm like, why is Bar so cruel to Meal House?
But he's been crueled the entire run when we reviewed Summer A four four two,
and he was meaning that as well. There must have seen you remember,
like he's always been mean to Meal House? He really has. And
then Homer thinks that he's next, as you would be. You know,
it's time for time to remember. But but she does not remember him at
all. And it must be something unpleasant blocking my memory of you. That's
a pretty unique distinct ideology to come to. It must be something unpleasant blocking
my memory of you. Why would you, why would you ever think that
it must be something unpleasant blocking my memory of you, but that Flanders arrives
and his cat's birthday same day as Patty LaBelle. Homer is now using the
photo album to try and rejeeg those memories as you would get the photos of
him fighting President Bush and the current President Bush, which apparently is the only
time the George W. Bush appears on The Simpsons as himself. He also
appeared in the one with his dad, but he was the cutout. It's
your son, Jeb and jog Pus Junior and also showing that bag your appels
who's boss in the photos as well, and Home suggests them snuggling and she
has no snuggling means. And now we've discussed this, I think, but
did the Simpsons come up with the term snuggling for sex? You were of
a mind that they did? If I feel like I hadn't, well,
I hadn't seen it beforehand anywhere snuggling? Can you call anyone else saying snuggling?
Want a snuggle? It feels like a word that's been around forever,
But then so was the Simpsons. Then it's actually quite good. Oh,
how about any whispers? You describe me? Had a parallel park? You
used to love my non sacredness. Why can I remember everyone in town except
my husband? Simple? Your brain is trying to save you from your backed
up toilet of a marriage. Have you been talking like this from my entire
marriage? Oh no, no, We've always honored your choice. I don't
know I should give home or a chance. But on the other hand,
I feel nothing for this is horrible. We've got to tell Dan. Oh
no, Burton, lie, They're gonna tell me something horrible. What by
the police department? A hang glider? You said, fright? Crime from
above? You said? You said, you're only one hundred and eighty pounds,
Shut up and look for crime. Homer then arrives home with gifts because
heart is a symbol for love. He's trying to win Marge over. Were
getting fifty first dates vibes in this? Yes, that as well? Absolutely?
And I mean there was also a movie made after this. Certainly what
year was fifty first dates? Don't yees? So? Okay, they're probably
paying tribute to that. There was a movie a few years after this called
The Vow One Yeah movie though, isn't it a bit? Yeah? Sort
of based on a true story apparently about a woman who woke up from Kama
with yeah, like retrograd Anesia and liked didn't recall her husband, and so
he sort of, well, we're meant to be together forever. I'm going
to win you over all over again. I think they eventually did end up
together, which was nice. So two thousand and four was fifty first Dates,
and apparently the film was remade in India as Satha Yah Bahama in two
thousand and seven, and there's another one in two and fourteen they got remadeers
and then in Japan they got remade to fifty First Kisses and twenty eighteen in
Iran you got made in two thousand and five in Mexico had his own version,
so very six. I really enjoyed fifty first Dates. Oh, I
mean I loved Drew Barrenmore and Drew Roan Sand the two of my favorite actors
actresses of all time. They've just got that connection, don't they. Those
two were just like, how are you guys not in love forever? Like
how are you guys so much Travolta and living in Newton John It's like how
did it never happen? You know, you feel like at some point in
their lives they've gotten down and dirty, right, they had to have like
like how can you not do It's it's just it's like magic every time you're
together. I look at the budget of fifty first day, it's seventy five
million box office one ninety eight. Oh my gosh. But there was a
portion of astonished that it cost seventy five million to make. But yeah,
there was a portion of time though where it just felt like Sunda could really
do no wrong, couldn't it. And then he sort of started getting it
and you really started released a few films. You're like, oh, I'm
not too sure about this, but they still fucking made money. That's the
thing. Oh yeah, we are very pro sand Man here at the four
Finger discn network, And yeah, he seems to have got it. Sassed
you know, Sad do you have a listening to this? I would gladly
have you come on this podcast and just do four hours of her. Bother
man I Sandlon just doing the tire interview, just oh I love Itam Sandler
just seems like such a guy like looks after his mates. Just yeah,
yeah, don't come and talk to us about it. Yes, we'd appreciate
it. You'd have fun too. I'm sure you like the Simpsons, Adam
Sandler. You must have a favor an episode out there. And I don't
think the Simpsons ever hung shit on Adam Sandler. They have, I've blocked
it out of my memory. Indeed. Well, when we get a little
busy with the socials in a little while, let's add Adam Sandler on this.
I mean that, I'm sure he checks his Twitter on the regular.
Let's do that, indeed. But then, as we said that the police
are stuck in the tree, Home arrives with a gift. That's right,
and he takes it to dinner at Luigis. He's paid Luigi to sing a
song. Luisa says, my many truly hates. I'm like, why what
is home every done? To Luigi? Yeah, he wish he's understood Italian
and he takes it disturb Putter lots merry old play Center where they had their
first little down and dirty moment in the in the old windmill there, and
Marsh's I'm not that kind of girl, and he says, well, you
know you loved it when the windmill tapped your button. It's like, no,
you genuinely wear that kind of girl. March like like, that's the
one thing we've enjoyed about this couple is that they're they're willingness to just go
for it like that. They seem not kinky, but like a very active
sex life. Yeah, uninhibited, shall we say. And look, if
I can offer any advice to the people out there, it's like, find
yourself a partner who will do it on the put put course. And then
that's not euphemism. The best thing that ever happened to her was forgetting about
him, and it feels a little much felt. It was like, yes,
you've got a family of three. This story, yeah, this particular
story has to go along a certain path. You know. Well they've got
a break up or they've got it. You know, she there's got to
be an obstacle where she doesn't want to get back with this guy. And
okay, yeah they've done that, but they've gone about it in I don't
know a way that just feels not right. I mean it should have been
just like I know you're trying, Homer, but no, I'm not feeling
it. I don't know who you are. I can't live this way.
You just haven't like that as opposed to I'm insulted and you're just the worst
and blah blah blah. Yeah, I don't know. Maybe that's why this
sort of didn't bring true to me. I don't know. I do think
Homer trying to lay the moves on her before she remembered him was probably a
little bit much like I was like, ease up, mate, that there's
time for that, probably trying to Yeah, he's trying both the character and
the stick. So speaking. Then we get Skinner and Edna. Unfortunately for
Seymour, his birthday is over. We're coming from commercial and Marge has kicked
at home and now she's kicking him out or he's given us some space anyway.
The kids don't want him to leave. Bart says, you know,
I've got this garden of fs on my report card. You planted them all
and a Homer tries the spooking method, which was very funny. Boot Marge,
I realized you've made up your mind, and I want you to know
that I deeply respect You're boo that watch my hiccups not amnesia, I know,
I just thought maybe boo oo. So he moves him with Grandpa until
Marge remembers him again. Let me get Marge, Patty and some on their
way to Showy Field. They're taking her to a single mixer. Patty in
someone not very horrible in this episode, horrible, very unsupportive, Yeah exactly.
I mean it fits the character, I guess, but still, I
don't know. I feel like someone and Patty have turned someone to a corner.
I feel like the whole we hate Homer angles kind of gone out because
I've had the moment of Homer helping someone get the baby and Homer helping Patty
marry her wife, and I'm just like what, I get the feeling they
could still be kind of they could be Marge can do better, yeah,
and you not take them to the single mixer and things like that. Well,
I mean they're taking Marge's lead, heer. I mean, Marge's kicked
home around of the house, so you know, I can I can kind
of buy them going, oh, well, she's single, now let's you
know quick, let's fix this up before she comes to her senses and you
know, hook her up with someone else. I can buy that. It
makes sense to me. It makes sense that Patty and someone would do that,
and I can see them doing it in a way that's not like we
hate Homer, but more like time for Marge to do it right, time
for you know, time for a do over, if you know what I
mean. Yeah, could you ever do speed dating? I don't think I
could do it. I just too awkward for me. No, I feel
like I played the long game. I couldn't win someone over in five minutes
precisely. Yeah, the way I see people down over time, you know,
this is just ten chances for me to make ten bad first impressions.
Man actually refers to with exciting only people. Just how you met your husband.
Oh no, I met my three friends like normal people. But then
we have marched on a date, so that the killer husband. What time
did what you did? Forty old version come out? That would have been
after this, wouldn't it because we had a speed dating scene and that didn't
we Yeah, two four was twenty seven forty year old versions. In no
way, that movie is nearly twenty years old. Surely two five, Holy
fuck, it's eighteen years old that movie. That's madness. I can't believe
the movie came out eighteen years ago. So this that came out a year
before this episode came out. Yeah, so it wouldn't have been a reference
to that movie. But I'm just surprised that movie came out that long ago.
I can't believe it's really two decades. Two decades, father Time just
here to make fools of us. All. It's one of those films where
ever, since I've watched that movie, I can't look at Kelly Clarkson and
not laugh. All Right, So basically, yeah, Marge, they're going
to the speed dating scene, but the killer husband Marge pushes the horn with
the nice man, decent living. It's just he's very Georgia stands and the
nice member, the decent living isn't he got the chip on his shoulder.
Yep. And then we got the guy who she thinks is a male gay.
I was like, that was an odd lion. I think he's a
male gay. I'm like what. But then she she finds a guy who
is similar brothers to Patty and Summer. They you know, they took they
brought him here and he's suggesting that we're adults, let's go get a cup
of coffee. I feel like I watched it and I was like, I
feel like that's how Guy would when Guy I found the right person, he'd
go, we're adults here. Let's just go have a cup of coffee.
Like, I feel like this is what you would do. That's very nice.
Like I do like to think I would behave this way under that circumstances.
I smell romance. It's a perfect night for love. Would you pretty
ladies care to join us for some champagne? Go suck a rat ass and
over. Then the phone rings at Grandpa's and Paul Grandpa is so lonely,
he tells him to savor the sound of the phone ringing and turns out it's
Lenny and Carl. And then has happened to see Marge on a date.
He's touching her arm and they're both very quiet, and it's not the awkward
quiet either, so that needs to be said silence, yeah, but yeah,
but it's not an awkward silence. Homer then arrives. He's hanging out
by the rocks and he sees the guy and oh my god, he's Marge
add my dream man. And he said they're gonna make a play to try
and win a back. When he gets a whole over him, get swamped
by over the seaweed and everything, and he's just thankful that she's finally found
someone that makes her happy, and I was like, this is too good
of Homer, is too nice? Is something's happening. I don't understand what's
happening here. And then Marge comes clean. She goes, okay, I
feel like we're both you know, we'd be honest here, and this guy
just walks out on her and Hommer confronts the guy, and I was like,
I've got my notes here. This may be the best Homer moment we've
had in the seasons. It honestly is like this felt like like classic Homer
because I like the most about it was that he wasn't aware that she was
listening. He was just making that guy aware, like you always like you
idiot. You know, in ten years, she's never had the last last
of pizza, and she's never complained. You know, she wants to vote
for both people because she what was the reason? I know that she thinks
they're both nice. There's got to be something good about each of them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, and she's a lighting side of her that makes
everyone else look better. And I was just like, that's actually like so
lovely And the fact that he didn't know margin was listening to that it's just
like, this is the Homer that we love. If you can produce this,
do this more often. I know I've said that a lot lately,
but it's like, if you can do this, why not. But I
do like the dude. She's got three kids. Really, but that's fine.
That that's slimness. But Margin really appreciates it. And this is where
the episode should have ended. So let's end it here. You know,
something else happens. We already mentioned that, So let's just say Margin Homer
get back together and live happily ever after. No, I'm going to do
I'm going to get out man Jaden Lebron, who can do a good personation
of Simpsons for characters, and I'm going to get him to read doub what
March has in this scene, and then cut it to them walking off into
the sunset with a nice little like you said that the flashbacks were birds and
walking off happily hand in hand together. That's what this needed. I don't
want to go on a rantic game, but my goodness, that last scene
it triggers me. It really like it just I just don't The thing is,
I just don't understand why they felt a need to do it. Why
do they need to remind you? I know you think there's guy's getting back
on tracking is pretty cool, but really is a dirt bag, and she's
an idiot for allowing him to do it. She's the third problem. She's
the enabler. It's all March's fault. Like what, they don't blame his
guet. You think they would have recognized by now that you know, Yes,
the Simpsons is a comedy, but you know it's a comedy with heart,
and that's why we tune in. You know, we don't need you
to undercut Sometimes you don't need to undercut the good emotional payoff with Oh,
by the way, these are the jokes. Folks, don't do it sometimes
just go go for the sap be saba. What do we learn Balmer?
What'd you learn from the episode? Mister Davis? Speed dating would not be
my forte. I would just be I would cut out two dates in say
let's go get a cup of coffee. I learned that three I learned that
from you. I'll let that three kids as one too many. From forward,
your name be all right, it's time for the Guy Davis New Name
Championship. Now we didn't have one last week because last week was the episode
that we're Mitch and I reviewed many many moons ago, so we wapped it
up on the feed. So we've skipped a week. So the current leader
board still stands at this In our first position, we have Luke mccon sixteen
points. In second position, Kyle muldoon and Heath apple Be both on twelve,
and in third position we have Adam Moorehouse on ten points. All right,
hey me, mister Davis, what do we got this week? Okay,
one point goes to Huma. That's pretty good. That's very good whom
with a question mark. That's our man, Luke McKay. He's done it
again. He's now in seventeen point spot on. So that's a very good
title. I really appreciate that. That's a pretty good one. It's not
quite as good as the one that gets two points. She's momnesia. Oh
not bad, not bad, that's all. It's our man, Mark Boston
Burgess. I'll tell you what. Mark is climbing that leaderboard. He's now
on that two points gets him on eight points. He's probably not going to
win it, but he's like he's getting up there. He's doing well.
Mark boston Burgess there with it with a two point. He's now at eight
points one on, so some good dark horse stuff from Mark boston Burgess.
Three points goes to don't you forget about me? That's a winner, It
really is, isn't it? That is hot dog? That is our David
Mott. So David Mott. Wow, David Moss now at ten points.
Look out, Luke, they're coming boy you buddy, Yeah, alright buddy,
But that's very good. New leaderboard currently Luke McKay on seventeen and first
Kyle Molding Heat that will be still in second on twelve and now David Mott
is tied with Adam Woohouse in third on ten points. Remember I want to
be a part of this is going to be part of the Fourth Finger Discount
Patreon group on Facebook where you can be in there for a little as two
dollary dues. We can support the show and help keep the lights on here
at the Fourth Finger Discount Network. But now, mister Davis, it's time
for some mail bag questions. Mailbagail demail is here. First question here Andrew
JP, the top contributor. If you go buy this Facebook little thinking,
I says here. Why do you think the teen season has so many Marge
Homer marriage and turmoil plots where the writers going for shock value by splitting Homer
in Marge up all the time, or they just run out of ideas.
I don't know if it's a case if they ran out of idea das,
but they seem to have some sort of infatuation with splitting them up, don't
they. And it's just rinse and repeat a lot of the case, isn't
it. I'd like to know the ages and marital statuses of the writers in
the Simpsons writers room at this time. I mean, I'm wondering if there
were sort of like a lot of divorce youngsters or who were you know,
middle aged and maybe feeling that seven year rich and you know, acting out
there marital drum and bringing their marital dramas to work bad and the fantasies.
But the thing is, it's like the last few times where they've split them
up, you're almost on Homer side. It's like, I wouldn't actually do
anything all that wrong. I mean there's one recently where Marge is like get
out and I was like, I wouldn't do anything. Well, why are
you kicking him out for so it's like they're breaking him up now to where
home like it used to be a case of Homer does something ridiculous and Marge
splits up with him, and but she takes him back because you know that's
what she does. But now it's like Homer does something that's like kind of
annoying, but it's Marge like, get out. It's like what and your
your marriage is so thin now that you're throwing him out over that? Yeah,
it was. It was the one where it was the one where they
found the bra That's right, it's like, why are you throwing what the
fuck? All of which feels kind of immature, Yeah, for one of
a better term in terms of like, oh there's marital discord. The immediate
sort of option is the nuclear option. Let's let's split them up. I
say, I don't think our marriage can survive this. It's a little bit
more worldly, mature, smart, emotional to admit that marriages go through problems
and have these and have the couples work them out, you know. I
mean I think they had that in earlier episodes where it's like, you know,
sometimes your partner is going to disappoint you. Sometimes you're not going to
be you know, in the honeymoon phase. Sometimes it's like, oh,
I believe it's this person. I'm here too. Even among the happiest couples,
I mean, you know they're gonna be times like sometimes they're a bit
of a dog. I'm sure they lovely always thinks this on the regular.
Nicola right now at that work like I'm running the state of this business,
like I'm gonna manager of Victorian Tasmania. He's at home talking about the Simpsons
in an hoodie lucky head. Next question here from Andrew Swan. What's your
thoughts on having a cleaner. Do you like the idea of paying someone to
clean up your mess or you like margin that you'd feel too shameful. I
laughed at margin is, but I'm just like, more I think about it,
I would actually clean the house a bit first, because I wouldn't want
people to see my shame. The house is a mess. But sometimes I'm
watching the kids and Nicola knocks off work and I'm like, I'm sorry,
I haven't cleaned up yet. But my motto, I explained to it yesterday.
I'm like, I could spend the day cleaning, but they just mess
it up again straight away. So it's like it's easier to just let it
get to the end of the day and clean it up at the end of
the day and let them destroy it tomorrow, because it was driving me crazy.
Every Tuesday's Daddy daycare day, and every Tuesday's like I clean up in
the morning. Kids make a mess, I clean up the mess, they
make another mess. Ip that mess is make the original mess again. It's
like I was going insane cleaning up mess after mess after mess. I'd prefer
to just like, just make a fucking mess and I would clean it once,
because cleaning up all day drives you bananas. Correct correct now, Look,
I'm lucky one that if I was to have a clean I don't think
I've ever had a cleaner in Well, my Mary's coming over to the cleaning
house, isn't she. You didn't ask you too to clean it, because
she was like, this is deplorable, Like calm down, Margaret, Mary.
But at the same time, yes, I'm flying out as we recall
this, I'll be leaving on a jet plane with lovely Louise Man for California
tonight. The fun Yeah, you please make sure you played that over your
phone when you walk off, just so you really Louise. Kids coming on,
just Louise. No, they're going to Europe with their dad. Oh
that's right. Wow, it's like a honeymoon. It is indeed. Uh
yeah, yes, we'll be walking through San Francisco Airport in slow motion with
that on the speakers. But no, I mean I'll be probably be spending
much of tonight just cleaning up the house. So when Mum comes over to
feed Basie the cat, she'd be like, oh, guys, living like
a human being. But I would be very much a cleaner before the cleaner
comes. Camp Basic clings on to it that He's like, take me with
you, Rachel McLean. If your significant other had amnesia and forgot who you
were, what would you do or mention to make them remember? You?
Play this like some of our songs. We have songs that we sing together.
You know that we both enjoy it, Like one of our songs that
we just both love ap Peel because of the nostalgia, like growing Up is
Wanted that all we Backstreet Boys, it's like our like nineties song together,
So we could play that, like playing I feel like playing songs that are
like our songs would really have because music, and I feel is like the
best memory jogger, don't you smells and music very much? So, Yeah,
you're exactly right in that regard. I think another thing that I would
do, because it tends to make low laugh, is put on some kind
of put on, some kind of accent, put on because when if we're
watching TV shows and there's yeah, particularly ninety fiance, there's a variety of
accents, and I tend the goal was the German because it's gonna be German,
right, It's always Germans. It's got to be German. And oh
no, I think I fell a loue because I made her love to a
good German accent, which is one of my fun don't thing I love to
do when the fact that she was on the same wavelength or maybe just pitying
me, Yeah, it was a connection. So I'd probably do that.
Harrison McClure, if you were to try speed dating, what would be your
opening line? Yeah, you're right, I probably wouldn't date me either,
now I know what you're thinking. I'm only speedy in this part. Ryan
King, if you could raise your memory of seeing a certain film so you
can watch it for the first time again, what's a good question, What
would it be? What would what would like to revisit for the first time
about any prior knowledge? That's a good one. You can't choose one film
if I it'd be great to not know anything about either and buy strikes Back.
No, the Terminator, because yeah, if you don't know anything at
all. I mean, they sort of signal that Arnold is the really bad
guy, but you know, you're what I mean to think, well,
is the terminat of the band one or is Carl raise the band one?
They both look kind of sketchy, and then you know it's revealed, Oh
my god, it's the Terminator and the terminate as a robot. What the
fuck? So that's pretty good. Or Predator and not know anything about you
know, it's like, oh wow, okay, you know Arnold and and
his and his buddies on this rescue mission or whatever. Oh it's a nasty
shit going on, but you know, that's life in the jungle for you.
And then all of a sudden, wait a minute, there's a predator.
What the hell? I love how to added that sent at the start
of that film, just to remind you don't worry there will be a monster
in this at some point, by the way, says fiction. But I
mean if they didn't have that scene and he went to the movies to watch
it, you would have gone the fuck you honestly would have thought if wanted
the wrong movie? Right, Yeah, it's like, okay, so is
there a predator in this movie? What's going on? The predator? Can
you think of a twist that you would love to relive, like Empire strikes
back twist? Can you think a twist that you would love to relive?
Actually, I think it'd be good to sort of go into pulp fiction and
really, oh, you've got the bit in the middle. I mean,
can we can spoil pulp fiction? We mean, yeah, it's like,
holy Shad Travolta doesn't make it the end, gets killed by Bruce Willis what's
going on? Yeah? I thought he was the hero or not the hero,
but I thought he was a central character. Now he's dead. Wait
a minute, he's alive again? Have they told these stories out of order?
Holy moly? What a genius? A good good question ranking. I
really enjoyed that one. Okay, that was indeed a good one. This
one was just actually just comments to ryans who Andrew JP says Batman returns.
He was so hype for that movie as a kid, but I was,
says, but I was such a whimp as the penguin scared me. I
spent most of the movie hiding my eyes. Now it's one of my favorite
movies and nostalgic as one of the last movies I saw whilst I was still
living in Canberra. I'd love to go back and just appreciate it properly.
And Jesse J says Jrassic World. It's not exactly art, but I've never
been so delighted in a theater really Drassic huh, Jurassic World of my Jurassic
World. It's no Jurassic Park, but you know, the first one,
at least I was like, it's okay, it's getting the job done.
Characters aren't that interesting, but the kids were starrections pretty good. Kids were
so annoying in that. Yeah. True, they didn't get eaten at least
one of them. Alrighty guys, well that is mailbag for regarding Margie.
