It felt like every year there was a twelve over a five. Now it's the eleven seeds. You know, the sixteen seeds are long shots, but the eleven seed, it feels like they inflict some damage. Just about every tournament, six different eleven seeds have crashed the final four LSU George Mason, loyal to Chicago VCU Ucla and then most recently NC State. So it's not a coincidence, it's actually a trend. And they're not your typical underdogs normally. These are battle tested teams playing in big conferences. They get overlook for one reason or another, but they have enough talent to string together three or four wins. That's the beauty of the tournament. Only takes one game to maybe spark a run. And if you're looking for the madness to begin, history tells us the eleven seeds are pretty good place to start. And so looking back on the six number of eleven seeds to reach the final four, as I mentioned, and if you look back since twenty fourteen, the eleven seeds have been successful, going twenty three and twenty one against the number six seeds. Umbc versus Howard and Texas versus NC State coming up tonight with your first four and Dayton Ohio a couple other headlines. Yesterday. At the end of the show, the Chiefs picked up Justin Fields, which is kind of an interesting move because it signals to me that maybe Patrick is not going to be ready to go at least to start this season, or maybe you ease him in after a couple of games. But you bring in Justin Fields, and this might be the last call for Justin Fields to be a quarterback in the NFL. But I, of course I'm in the minority. I still think there's hope for Justin Fields. The Alabama Crimson Tide, they lost Aiden Holloway to a drug arrest. I guess he was caught with over a pound of pot, which would probably mean that he was going to distribute, sell, and distribute. But he is averaging just under seventeen points a game. Alabama not expected to have him in their game. They open up with Hompstra and I think, you know, if you look, this is kind of surprising here. But these teams that are the top four seeds, I don't think anybody is less than a double digit favorite in their first games. I don't know if that's ever happened before. But you got, you know, mostly chalk here and filling out your brackets. FYI, all right, Seaton poll question today, here's.

But there are analysts who are saying what is actually true when they say, well, you know they got great senior guard play, you know they got to cut down on their turnover, like all these things that could be true for that particular team. But it feels like you could be an analyst by just throwing out these generic lines. You know, they got the rint protector and the senior guard play and look they knock down their free throws, and their coach has been here before. You know, it's all of those check check check, yes, tod.

Speaker 6: It does the true experts and bracketologists a disservice when there's so many people out there just saying you got to watch the wolf Pack in transition, they're going to make things difficult for Texas.

Speaker 2: So for the first time ever, every top four seed is a double digit favorite in the round is sixty four. Now Alabama has the smallest spread. That's eleven and a half and that's against Hobster. I don't know if this is updated with Aiden Holloway not playing. And here's their second leading score. And there's a lot of talent, a lot of talent, and you know, Jay Bill has talked about this might be the most talented freshman class that we've ever had in the history of college basketball. AJ debansa with byu Cam Boozer Darren Peterson as Caleb Wilson, who's a really talented player at North Carolina, but he won't play against VCU, Darius Acuff at Arkansas, Kingston Fleming at Houston, Mike Brown mckel brown at Louisville, Braden Burry's at Arizona, LeBaron Phylon Junior, the third at Alabama. So there's a there's a lot of lot of talent here first round, a lot of repicks, especially with aj Debansa, and that I don't think BYU is a you know, a really good team. They're an old team. I do know that. I think they got a couple of twenty six year olds, but I think if you take Debansa out of the line up there, they're the oldest team in the tournament, probably by far. And you know, you get players who go on their Mormon mission for two years and come back and then you know they're married with a couple of kids, and you know, twenty six years of age. But Debansa is going to be a one and done. But we'll talk to Carlos Boozer about his two sons at Duke and John Smoltz will join us, Reggie will join us as well.
