During his trip, Braiden finds out about an unusual activity in Norway visiting military
bunkers, but a discovery during one of those explorations leaves him with something he
wasn't expecting. My name is Edwin and here is Braden's true scary story.
I grew up in California, and I've always had an interest in the supernatural.
I've always had a curiosity about spirits and just things that can't really be
explained that happened to people and personally. Up until I became an adult,
I had never had any experiences that would have confirmed my suspicions about spirituality or
the supernatural. But I did have different experiences in high school with sleep paralysis
where I would wake up and I couldn't move my body but there wasn't anything
suspicious going on. Or other times i would wake up in the middle of
the night and I'd have a sweatshirt that I had left on the ground next
to my bed, and I would see a person like curled up and then
I would blink and wake up a little bit more and realize that was just
my sweatshirt. As I got older, I went on a mission from my
church to Norway and I was there for two years. That was the start
of my experience with the supernatural. I served all along the entire west coast
of Norway, as well as near the capital, Oshlo, which is a
little it's southern and then southeast. But anyways, back in nineteen forty Germany
invaded Norway and they built a ton of bunkers all along the west coast and
they used these bunkers just in case there was an attack by America coming to
do whatever during that war. And so now all of these bunkers are public
property, so anyone's allowed to go in them, anyone's allowed to explore them.
And they're just all over the place in random places, like sometimes you'll
just be walking in a neighborhood and you get to the edge of the neighborhood
and there's a bunch of rocks near the ocean, and in those rocks,
or in the side of a mountain, there's a bunker carved out. I
was up in northern Norway in a city called Tromsa, which is the Northern
Lights capital of the world. I started off my experience in Norway in the
middle of winter, and if anyone knows anything about being above the Arctic Circle.
During the wintertime, the sun will set for the last time near the
end of October or early November, and then it won't come back up until
the spring. It gets to be about as light as twilight during midday,
and then it goes back to complete darkness. But the good part of being
up there was seeing the northern lights. So one night I was up there
with a mission companion. Both of us are just out knocking on doors talking
to people, and we get to the edge of this neighborhood. It's pitch
black outside. Up the road is like a pretty steep hill, and once
you get up that hill, there's a little mountain side that's carved out of
the mountain, so it looks like half dome in Yosemite, where there's this
flat rock face, and in the middle of that rock face there's this huge
iron door that's cracked partially open. And I've always been super curious, and
the person that I was working with at this time he was super curious too,
and so I look over and I'm like, hey, let's check out
this bunker, like it looks pretty cool. This was the first bunker that
I had ever seen or heard of. Since I got into the country.
So we head up this hill and as we're walking, feel fine, and
then suddenly I get hit with this wave of don't take another step. I've
never felt anything like that in my life before, Like I just hit this
wall. It felt like a tangible darkness, not visually, but it just
you could feel the heaviness of this darkness. I look over at the person
that I'm working with, my mission companion, and he looks back at me,
and he could feel it too, And I was like, what's going
on here? So I glance up at that iron door in the rock face
and I look down from the door and there's a little cement pad underneath,
and there was candles in the formation of a star that were burned down and
the waxes all melted all over the ground. And I don't know too much
about witchcraft or like double worship or anything like that, but I do know
that there's some type of like star symbol that people will burn candles and do
whatever rituals they do. So anyways, I see that, and I glanced
back up because I noticed motion coming from the crack of this iron door,
and I saw a hand, like a shadowy, dark hand and it slips
into the darkness because this giant door would be too heavy for one person to
open, and so it was cracked open, probably about a foot and a
half and we were still twenty feet away when I saw that hand disappear into
the darkness. And then at that point I looked over and I'm like hey,
and like we should probably get out of here. This isn't a good
idea, especially with that like star of candles that are all melted in front
of that door. This is probably a place that we shouldn't be. So
we left and went back to our apartment. And then it was months before
I had been back to a bunker, and I moved to a different part
of Norway that's about middle of the country, still on the west coast,
called Krishansund, and it's basically an island surrounded by a bunch of other islands,
and a lot of cruise ships will pass along that route when they're going
up to northern Norway. In this area, I was working with somebody else
at this time, and there was way more bunkers that you could explore,
like everywhere, and specifically there was I wouldn't say it was a national park
maybe like a state park or some type of thing where they had a lot
of different bunkers that were opened for the public, and they also had submarines
that were on display, torpedoes and different things, and mines that obviously were
deactivated, but up on little metal poles just outside that you could look at
and read little things about the Germans and what they were doing there at that
time. As we were looking around, we realized that there was one bunker
that had this huge door that was obviously built later, and it was just
these big steel bars going all the way from the floor to the top of
the little carved out part of the mountain where the door starts. The door
was welded completely shut to the metal frame, so there was no way that
you could open that door. But as we look up, there were separate
bars above the door that had been pried open and just enough to fit human
bodies through. And there was a group of six guys including me this day
that we were exploring this bunker, and so two of them, the most
staring ones, were like, hey, guys, we're going to go in
here and check this out, and so they climb up the store. The
entry way is probably about six or seven feet off the ground. So they
climb in and they disappear in the darkness, and we just have these tiny
little flashlights that we were carrying around because we knew that we were going to
be adventuring at this little state park that they have with all these different bunkers.
And so they're gone for a couple of minutes and then they come running
back and they're like, guys, you have to come and check this out.
And they wouldn't tell us what they saw, but they just told us
to come in. And at this point, I wasn't completely sure if I
had wanted to go and see what was going on in there, but all
the other bunkers that I had visited and explored previously, like, I thought
they were really cool and it was cool to feel the history. And so
all the other guys start climbing through the hole, and I'm the last one
to go through. I'm like, I put my legs in first, and
I almost snapped my back and half trying to get through the little opening.
But luckily, since a lot of the shorter guys went in first, they
were able to help me get down. So I plopped down, and the
first thing that you notice when you get into these bunkers is the smell of
mildew. So it's a really earthy, wet, moist smell, like it
just smells like you're deep underground. And this thing that hasn't, like I
ever had time to evaporate the standing water. The walls are all roughly cut,
like they were blasted with TMT to make a hole like walkway big enough
to go through. And so it goes straight back and then takes a very
sharp left and then are right and then you end up at these stairs and
there's about eight steps. They're probably about a foot long, and then six
to eight inches deep for each step. And so we go down these steps
and we're in this single hallway and to the left there's a door opening,
and then probably another twenty feet down there's another door opening. We end up
going into the first door opening, and as soon as you walk in,
right to the left, in the corner of the room, there's a bed
frame that's surrounded with barbed wire criss crossed and if you've ever looked at like
electrical lines, they have those little white caps over I don't know how to
explain it exactly, like it was made to disperse electricity across this whole thing,
and the way that it was designed, you could tell that you would
be put in between these barbed wires that had a line running to a little
wood shelf with a perfect thing to connect, like a battery or some type
of electrical thing to torture people in there. That was my first sign that
something's catchy was going on down in this bunker. And so in that room
that was the main thing. There's some empty wooden shelves that ran along the
walls as well, and obviously, back when they use that for torturing people
there, there was probably some other stuff in there, but at this time
there was just that bed frame. So we walk out of that room back
into that hallway and then walk the twenty feet to get to the next opening.
And when you walk into that room, there was a bunch of glass
panes to make a really long shower, and there was a bunch of shower
heads just coming out of the rock, and the pipe would disappear behind there,
and everywhere we looked there was no way to turn the water on.
But the creep part was all the glass was covered in water droplets, just
like it would be if you took a shower if you have a glass shower
at home, and that water accumulates and is like rolling down the glass pane.
So as soon as we walked in there was just that the water on
the glass pane. It smelled like there was some type of chemical that was
maybe covering up something or I have no idea, because up to that point,
like I said earlier, all these bunkers smelled the same, like mildew,
like old sitting water in a very like rocky, earthy smell. But
as soon as you walked into this room, it had some type of chemical
smell that I've never smelled ever in my life. We all six of us
got in there, and the guys that had jumped in previously before we went
in, they hadn't gotten into that room, and we all looked at each
other, freaked out that there's water on the panes and there's no way to
turn these faucets on and they're like these big, long, human size showers,
and we were like, we need to get out of here right now.
So we took off. We ran all the way out, didn't explore
anymore in that bunker, popped through the little hole that was opened up above
the door. That was well, that shut. We just went on with
our lives from that point. Brandon then moves to another location and that's when
he starts getting an unusual visit in the middle of the night. The rest
of his story is up next Stay with us And later on, about a
year of me being in Norway, I was paired up with a guy from
Italy and he was a really cool dude. As we got to know each
other a little bit better, he told me that he was big into airsoft
and so him and his buddies would go around and try to find different airsoft
like fields or abandoned buildings and stuff so they could have tournaments and play and
do whatever with airsoft. And so one night they were exploring this abandoned monastery
or some type of religious building that had classrooms on the bottom floor, these
big classrooms, and then on the second floor there was a bunch of rooms
and it was all just down one long hallway and the doors would just face
each other. There's probably like thirty doors on each side. It was a
big building. And he was saying they had to like sneak under this gate
because this thing had been closed off for years and people weren't supposed to be
exploring or going around and checking things out in here. So they snuck in
and they were able to find like a broken window somewhere that wasn't barred off.
They through that, and they were super excited to have found a place
where maybe they could play and do some aerosoft stuff. So there was four
of them total, and they split up just to explore, but they also
didn't want to get caught, and so they're going around. He's on his
own. He has his airsoft gun like strapped to his back, and he
decides to go and check out the second floor. When he gets up there,
like I described before, he realized that these were living quarters for whoever
was living in this abandoned religious establishment. So he walks down the hall a
little bit and decides to go into one of these rooms just to check it
out. And so he walks through the door. There's like a small,
little twin sized bed and like a little night stand next to the bed,
and besides that, the walls were bearing the little nightstand was like a writing
desk, and then you had a single window in the room. As he
is looking around the room, he walks over to the window and immediately the
door just slams shut. He turns around, thinking that one of his friends
was pranking him, and there was no one there, and he goes over
to the door. At this point, he's a little bit scared, like
wondering what happened. He tries the door handle and it's stuck. He's literally
locked in this room, and so he starts shaking it a little bit harder,
trying to pull on the door, and it's not budging at all.
He's quiet for a little bit, and he's listening around just to see if
you can hear anything, and there's nothing. There's no noise around him.
So he starts banging on the door, screaming, yelling for his friends to
come and open the door. And about after ten minutes of him yelling,
one of his friends was close enough to the stairways, the stairway up to
the second floor, and he was able to open that door and let him
out. So they're both in the hallway walking back towards the stairs, and
at the very end of the hallway, like I said earlier, the doors
were facing each other, so the farthest door is back on that hallway slam
shut at the same time, and then the next pair of doors slam shut,
and it's coming towards them, and all of a sudden, it starts
speeding up, and all these doors are slamming shut, the old doors,
so they don't have some automatic switch that would shut them, and they're just
slamming shut. And they start taking off down the hallway as these doors are
slamming shut as they're running down the hall and they just get out of there
and never go back. After he told me that story, he began telling
me that he had done some things with his friends that kind of invited a
demon to follow him. I would never seek out any demonic presence or anything
like that, but I've always been curious in the supernatural. And he didn't
really want to say anything more about the experiences that he had with all of
that kind of stuff. But a couple nights later, I was sleeping and
the apartment that we were in at this time was on the second story of
this really old house, and it had two rooms. When you walked into
the front door, immediately after opening the apartment door, you were in this
like super small kitchen, and there was a half wall splitting this room with
bunk beds on the other side. Then you had like your little hot plate
and toaster of then in microwave on the other side of this wall built into
a little table that was connected to the wall as well, so you could
literally be like laying on the top of the bunk bed stirring like food on
the hot plate. It was a weird kind of small apartment. And then
the second room just had a pair of desks for us to study and do
some work. And then there was a sofa against the back wall, and
I was on the top bunk of the in that kitchen slash bedroom. Down
in the bunk bed, I was facing the doorway to the other room,
just to give you a little bit of a mobilization of what that room looked
like. So in the middle of the night, I'm woken up with the
feeling that there's something watching me. And at first I didn't know what it
was like my eyes were closed, but I had this like sense of urgency
to open my eyes, and so I opened my eyes and at the foot
of my bunk bed there's this black figure standing over me. I can't see
any features, but I can tell that it's a male and it's a tall
lanky silhouette of a man, probably around my height, like six six something
six four six five, and it's just standing right over the edge of my
bed, and I just have chills run down my entire body. Going back
to my times in high school when I would wake up in the middle of
the night and see something, I was like, I just need to blink
my eyes and whatever I see is gonna go away. So I blink my
eyes, I rub them, and I look and it's still standing over my
bed. At this point, I jumped, but I'm also like in shock
that there's this shadow figure just standing over my bed. It's not moving.
I'm freezing up inside. I can't talk, like I can't really move,
and then all of a sudden, it takes off out the door and just
disappears. I look over at the clock the first night that this happened.
By the time I looked at the clock, it was two oh four in
the morning. And like later on in my life, I did a little
bit more research into like bewitching hour and stuff like that, and two o'clock
is like the prime time for supernatural activity to happen during the night. I
thought that was like really scary and It was a little hard for me to
sleep that night, but eventually, like I drifted off to sleep, woke
up. The next day, we did all of our work, did all
the stuff that we needed to get done. Then that night, again we
went to sleep. I didn't even think about that encounter that I had the
previous night, and again at two in the morning, I woke up feeling
like there was something watching me again. I see the shadow figure, but
he's standing in a different part of the apartment now. Now he's standing in
that doorway that's facing my bunk bed instead of standing at the foot of my
bed. He's probably another five or six feet pass that, standing on the
floor. But I can see him just as well as I could the night
before, and I do the same thing. I wipe my eyes, I
look around and look back, and it's still standing there, and then it
takes out through the window. This same pattern repeated again and again for about
a month, and I was getting really bad quality of sleep because I was
scared to go to sleep knowing that I was going to wake up in the
middle of the night having this thing standing over me, like watching me sleep,
or standing in a different part of the apartment. Some nights he would
be in the same spot that he was a couple nights before, but it
was always a different spot from night to night, and so I knew that
I wasn't just imagining something like standing like one time or standing in the same
place every night. But the interesting thing is the timing was always the So
it was always between two o'clock and two oh five in the morning, and
I would wake up like fully awake. In my heart was racing every single
time, like my body knew that there was something there, like something standing
over me, something watching me. And finally I'm like, I can't keep
this to myself anymore, and so I talked to my buddy and he was
sleeping on the bottom bunk and I was like, hey, like, I've
been waking up in the middle of the night, like and I see this
shadow figure standing in our apartment. And he's like, oh, that's crazy,
because almost every night for this past month, I keep having these out
of body experiences. So I wake up and I'm looking at my body and
I can see my body and I can see you on the bunk bed on
top of me. Then there's this black figure trying to get inside my body.
He told me that he would try to wake me up and he would
try to hit the bed or shake me, but his hands would always pass
through me because he obviously was looking at his body through some type of third
person perspective. But this shadow creature, like the demon or whatever you want
to call it, was trying to get inside of his body. And he
said, like around two ten in the morning, he would wake up and
it was like a fight trying to get the demon to go away so he
could get back into his body, but he was able to do it.
It was around that same time that I would wake up and see the shadow
figure and then it would go. It would be scared off somewhere and leave
either through the window, down through the floor, up through the ceiling.
Once it even came towards me and went through me disappeared. And this was
the first time that he admitted to like doing stuff back when he was a
teenager. And he was like, yeah, like I did some stuff and
I think I have this demon following me. And I was like, yeah,
that's pretty obvious because I'm seeing it too. I always thought, just
from like stuff that I had heard from other people, that you had to
invite those kind of things into your life to be able to see them or
communicate with them or have experiences with them. But I know firsthand from my
experience that if you're around someone who's meddled with different things, then like unwittingly,
it can manifest itself to you. We ended up talking to a counselor
because I was I talked to the person in charge of our mission, and
they referred me over to spiritual psychologists who like believes in Jesus Christ, but
also has their masters or doctorate in psychology. And so she had me do
some different things, like made sure that I was eating protein and stuff before
bed because that can help with blood sugar spikes and stuff in the middle of
the night. And so we do that and at first nothing changes. I'm
still seeing it, and so then at this point she's like, cast it
out in the name of Jesus. And we ended up doing that, and
I didn't do it while the presence was there in the room. We did
it like earlier in the evening before we went to sleep. From that point
on, while I was living in that apartment and never came back, and
so I thought it was gone for good. I thought we solved that problem.
But fast forward several months later and I'm in another area now called Sonovica,
which is really close to the capital of Norway. I'm with a different
person, I'm in a totally different apartment, a totally different place, and
I wake up in the middle of the night and I wake up paralyzed.
And I've, like I've said before, I've dealt with sleep paralysis. This
time something felt really off. I could only move my eyes so I could
blink, I could move my eyes around the room, I could look around,
but my body was completely paralyzed. It was completely frozen. I wake
up and I'm like wondering why I'm having sleep paralysis in the middle of the
night, because it hadn't happened for years. And all of a sudden,
I feel this super dark, cold feeling starting to creep up my feet and
I'm laying there. I can't scream, I can't look around, I can't
move, I can't call to anybody to come and help me. And slowly
it's creeping up my legs. It feels like I'm standing in like a tub
of water, of really cold water, and it's slowly being filled up.
So I can just feel it creeping up through my legs, and then by
the time it gets to like my waist, I realized, like I need
to do something like or something bad's gonna happen, because I've never felt anything
creep up my body like that before, and it reminded me of what my
body was experiencing with his out of body experience. It was the same thing
he described that this shadow figure was trying to get inside his body, and
it was the super dark cold that would gradually like creep up like your body.
I do the same thing that a counselor said, and I cast it
out again and it went away. But I was like really shook after that,
and I had no idea like why it chose to cam at that point,
or what it was doing if it was trying to get back at me
for casting it out. Like before, I didn't really pay attention to the
feeling of the presence, like I just knew that it felt like evil and
dark, even back when I would see it every night with that guy that
I was working with from Italy. I don't know if it was the same
presence or a different presence, but it was really scary to feel like so
out of control and have something trying to creep inside of my body. I've
never felt anything like that before that experience, and I've never felt anything like
that since then. Do you have a scary experience to share? Go to
