This week: Phases of Motherhood

  • Baby Phase: you are learning how to keep a tiny human alive- diapers, feedings, sleepless nights.
  • Preschool: adjusting to having your child away from and immediate family- can they make it without you?!
  • Elementary school- learning about your new community of parents and kids and teachers, maybe navigating returning to work.
  • Middle school- don’t underestimate your kids’ ability to handle this change and the challenges that come with it.
  • High school- activities can kick into high-gear! They are beginning to test the waters of independence; remember your child’s experience is not your experience. Do not put your past upon them. Driving and jobs are major milestones, too.
  • College- learning to let go. The range of motions is intense- excitement, fear, sadness, and joy. Your child is now able to make bigger decisions about how they want to live their lives.
  • Allow yourself to have all the feelings! Allow yourself grace as you figure it all out and how to juggle everything
