Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio.

00:00:04
Speaker 2: Well, it was eight days after the anniversary of Chamberlain's one hundred points in a game that nobody saw on TV. There were eyewitnesses and radio witnesses, and last night with Bam out of Bio scoring eighty three, I couldn't find the game. And I think late in the game Peacock did bring that game in so you could see the final seconds. But Bam out of Bio scores eighty three. And I'm not surprised somebody has scored that many points, because we've brought it up numerous times. Somebody's going to get there. With the volume of threes, somebody's going to get there. And we've had a couple of players getting over seventy. If you said, hey, who's the guy who's going to break the record? I would have said, now, I would say Kobe's record Wilts is not going to be broken, probably in our lifetime and another lifetime. I would have thought, Devin Booker, maybe you would have Luca. I mean, you gotta have high volume guys. You gotta have guys who can shoot threes. But Bam an underrated superstar. His previous high was forty three, and I think he had forty one at halftime, but towards the end they let him shoot. He had a lot of threes. He took twenty two threes, and he's not a good shooter, but went to the free throw line and ended up with eighty three. Here's the call when he surpassed Kobe Bryant's eighty one points last night.

00:01:37
Speaker 3: And quickly in the band he's got space, head down, spins, puts it up and BAM's going to the line again. Bam on a bio is a complete monster, and really get the ball into BAM's hand the right way. Only Wilt Chamberlain has more. It's in an NBA game in association history. The bam Adebayo who has eighty two.

00:02:09
Speaker 2: That's Jason Jackson with the call. He'll join us next hour about the honor of calling the second highest individual scoring performance in league history. So eighty three. He went twenty of forty three from the floor. He shot twenty two threes, he made seven, but going to the free throw line, that's an all time record thirty six of forty three. Wilt had twenty eight made free throws. I think he was twenty eight of thirty two. But you know, you're looking at that many free throws and you throw in twenty some vehic goals, you're going to put up a big number there. Dwight Howard had the previous free throw attempts record at thirty nine, and that was back in twenty twelve and also twenty thirteen. But congrats, pretty incredible night. You're playing against the Wizards, which that helps, but towards the end, it felt like maybe the strategy was, let's just let him go for the record, and that's exactly what his coach did. The Wizards were trying to foul other people to keep him away from getting the record against them. But bam out o bio. Now, I don't know if because we didn't get to see it. Now we saw highlights, but you know, Wilts was did he really score one hundred? That was in Hershey, Pennsylvania, back in what nineteen sixty two and no video, there's pictures. But we're like, and I've said this before numerous times, we really don't welcome Wilt's numbers, Like Babe Ruth, we do Wilt averaged fifty points in a season. We're like, yeah, but who was he playing against Well, we can say that about Babe Ruth too in some regards, but we don't. We're like, yeah, the babe. But with Wilt, it's like these numbers don't really matter. They're like, well they didn't. You know, those aren't real. He didn't play against real guys. Check his numbers. When he played against Bill Russell. I think he had fifty five rebounds in one game against him, Yes, Mark, but you could say that about Bam. He's playing against the Wizards, right, doesn't really count? Uh yeah. And then you go back to Kobe's eighty one and Kobe did that on a game in January. But he said, you know, we were down big at halftime and so we had to stay in the game. You know, that's the thing. Will I think won by a what one sixty nine to one thirty seven or something like, there was a blowout there, and even last night with Bam Outebayo. You know you're winning by twenty five points, but Kobe said, hey, I had to stay in there. In fact, let's go back to do we have that Marvin? Do we have Kobe yet? What Marvin? We got him? Okay, now you did both of these But if I said you could only have one on your resume, you could get the eighty eighty one or you could get the sixty in your last game, you have to pick between those two. You only get one.

00:05:14
Speaker 4: Oh, man, I'd probably go with the eighty one because we were like one game out of making the playoffs that year, so we needed literally needed every single game to get into the postseason. So if we had dropped that one, I think we would have been in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs that year. So I'll go with the eighty one.

00:05:39
Speaker 2: Reggie Miller and I got into a heated discussion, like he kept saying, you're gonna end your career with sixty, and then he put exclamation points on his text message, and I said, but eighty one exclamation points. That's come on, eighty one. And Reg goes, no, sixty on your last game.

00:05:59
Speaker 4: I'm just I'm enjoying the fantasy that actually happened. That's pretty cool.

00:06:05
Speaker 2: So that's Kobe after his eighty one point performance. Reg and I still argue about that because I'm like, man, I got a Now that Bams there passed Kobe, then I might go, well, all right, I'll take sixty in my final regular season game, final game that I ever played. All Right, we'll come up with the pole question, play of the day, stat of the day, all of that forthcoming. The Max Crosby trade reversed, and I don't think I can overstate how devastating I think this is for the Raiders. They were going to get two first round draft picks, one this year one next year. Plus their philosophy and free agency probably was, you know, banking on the fact they were getting rid of Max Crosby and his contract and going to the Ravens. So they had a different philosophy here, who they were going after, how much money they were going to spend. But the Ravens said, hey, didn't pass our physical and we're sending him back. This has happened before, now, It's happened in other sports. Remember Carlos Korea with the Mets, Mark Williams the Hornets. He was going to go to the Lakers. But in the Ravens have done this before. Now, these weren't big names. Ryan Grant in twenty eighteen failed a physical. Twenty twenty, Michael Brockers had an agreement with the Ravens, but they were concerned about his left ankle, and that deal fell through as well. I'm just surprised that the Ravens said, oh, you know, upon further examination, you know, maybe there's long term damage in that knee because it was a torn meniscus. And then they said, because it's going to take time for that to heal. That was what was surprising. Now, I'm sure the Raiders doctors said, you know, he's good to go, and then you trade him, and then the Ravens doctors said, no, we don't like looks like there's more damage in there. So now the Ravens could be in the for Trey Hendrickson. Now what do they do? And then the Raiders are you gonna get dollar for dollar from Max Crosby? Now if he's damaged goods? I mean, this is devastating, I think for the Raiders because Max Crosby is making over thirty million dollars for this year and next year. Can you trade him? But what are you going to get in return? And I think that's the interesting part of this. If he's viewed as damaged goods, then you're not going to get two first round draft picks. But Max Crosby headed back to the Raiders. Yes, Paulie.

00:08:38
Speaker 5: Boy right on. Cue Dan from Adam Schefter. Moments ago, the Ravens and Trey Hendrickson reached an agreement on a four year, one hundred and twelve million dollar contraend just came through minuts ago from Adam Schefter.

00:08:54
Speaker 2: That's a pivot. Yeah, I thought this was going to happen. Diana Roussini, who's covering the NFL for the Athletic she'll join us a little later on. Yeah, that one's devastating for the Raiders because it felt like, Okay, we can move on. Max can go play for a team that can compete for a Super Bowl. We're not ready. We got a couple more years here. We can get our center, we got Mendoza, get a couple more offensive linemen, get a couple of wide receivers. We can be respectable this year. But now you have the Max Crosby. Now I have to, you know, probably walk back my words of the Raiders tanking if it's true that you know this knee injury was far more serious than what we're leading on. But Max Crosby did have surgery. I think he knew he had to have surgery. But it's a torn meniscus, you can play through that. He can, but that's where you had this falling out between him and the Raiders front office because he wanted to play those last two games, and then it felt like, we're gonna sit you down because the last thing we want to do is win another game. Now, looking at that knee, and I don't know how many knee surgeries he's had, but if they're saying that, you know, could be long term damage in there, then it doesn't sound right. But you know, the Ravens have every right to be able to do it. It's like, yeah, we're bringing him in and that change. Look at free agency, it felt like a lot of dominoes fell after Max Crosby went to the Ravens. Yeah, Paul, I'd really love to know the timeline of this. Did the Raider did the Ravens when did they know they were going to move on from Crosby? And when did they kick the tires on Hendrickson? Did they think maybe a buyer's remorse situation where oh, we can get Hendrickson for the same price and not give up draft picks. I'm curious how the timeline played out in the past twenty four hours. With all that, Oh, I understand what the Ravens did makes more sense knowing the Ravens with their draft picks, they don't give up draft picks. Certainly won in the top fifteen. And you're going to get Trey Hendrickson, Okay, he's not Max Crosby, and you're gonna bring him in. You're gonna have to pay him and it's a longer you know contract there, but you get to keep your draft picks. Yeah.

00:11:11
Speaker 6: Man, that is a tough situation for Max Crosby though, now, I mean his value has plummeted.

00:11:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, because I would lowball the Raiders. Now, now I give you a first and maybe I give you a third or something if that. Now, I don't know if the Cowboys see I don't know how this works with Rashawn Gary who came over from Green Bay to Dallas. Now it's not official yet. Could they then say, hey, you know what, uh, we're going to rescind that trade, Like it's not official yet, you're just agreeing to a trade. I don't think there's anything in writing, but can you until after like four o'clock today, could they then go, hey, let's go after Max Crosby. I mean, if I'm Dallas, I would do that if I thought Max Crosby was going to be healthy enough. But the fact that now the Ravens have put that out there that you know, he could have long term durability concerns, that's the language that I was given, long term durability concerns. All right, Seaton poll question today, what are we going to go with? First hour?

00:12:21
Speaker 6: I appreciate their concern on long term, you know, their concerns about how he's going to hold up over the long term, because that's one thing that NFL teams do, is they really hold on to their players for a long time.

00:12:34
Speaker 7: Yeah.

00:12:36
Speaker 2: Are they worried about him in his fifties.

00:12:38
Speaker 6: We're not sure because we're planning on cutting him after the third year, but now it looks more like a year two cut to save money.

00:12:44
Speaker 2: So that's a little too long.

00:12:45
Speaker 8: Term for us.

00:12:46
Speaker 2: Yeah, we're concerned about how he's going to be walking in his fifties.

00:12:50
Speaker 6: Long term, you know, durability here?

00:12:54
Speaker 2: What is long term? Is it three years? Two years, two and a half? Yeah? Yeah, all right, So what's the first hour poll question? I think you're gonna find that out after the break. Oh, okay, Alrighty Paully, famous for the after the break poll question.

00:13:10
Speaker 6: I got the dolphin symbol from him, just the oh, it's like a dolphin jumping out of the water.

00:13:16
Speaker 2: Over after the break, After the break, we'll jump the shark. After the break, we'll get to your phone calls. Coming up. Jason Jackson, he is the voice of the Miami Heat, and he'll join his top of next hour, Dian and Russini. More on the Max Crosby situation. Our good buddy Ross Tucker has some thoughts on the Max Crosby situation as well. And Team USA. Team USA is gonna be an anxious spectator watching Italy and Mexico coming up tonight and their hopes of moving on in the WBC. We'll hinge on that. We'll talk about that coming up back after this Dan Patrick Show.

00:15:09
Speaker 2: Italy helps out USA Basketball Baseball as they advanced. By the way, the breakdown of players on Team Italy who were born in Italy. Todd, do you want to guess how many of Team Italy were born in Italy?

00:15:27
Speaker 7: I'm gonna say six, all right, Seaton.

00:15:33
Speaker 2: I'll be more optimistic, I'll say ten.

00:15:35
Speaker 7: All right, Marvin four all right, Paul seven, three, three stat of.

00:15:45
Speaker 2: The Day, the day of the day, stat of the day. It comes that what what they brought to you by Panini America, the official trading card to the DP show twenty four from the United States, three from Italy, two from Venezuela, and one from Canada. And Team USA benefits because now you have the elimination round. You have Team USA facing Canada tomorrow night. Italy plays Puerto Rico in the quarterfinals on Saturday.

00:16:20
Speaker 5: Yes, Paul Dan, just to be balanced, I've got USA's baseball roster here. Zero players from Italy born out of our roster.

00:16:28
Speaker 2: Zero? Yeah.

00:16:30
Speaker 6: Does it take away from the World Baseball Classic that it's basically just Americans going by their nationalities?

00:16:40
Speaker 2: Where's Ireland out there? Can we get it?

00:16:41
Speaker 6: Can we field a team of irishmen?

00:16:45
Speaker 2: Soccer? Does this? Doesn't it? With the World Cup? I guess I think you have to be a citizen.

00:16:51
Speaker 6: So I'm guessing that everybody is a citizen of the teams that they're playing for, like you could have dual citizen dual citizenship, right right. I'm assuming that that's the case. But I don't know.

00:17:01
Speaker 2: If I was from the United States and I played for Italy. I would demand that I get dual citizenship. I think you got to give me something other than the opportunity to play in the World Baseball Classic. But it's been fun. I've watched a whole lot more than I thought I was going to, and watched Italy. Now i'd have to go to my twenty three and me and look at that and see who I would play for. How many options would you have? Well, I think I've got a great Britain. I could probably play for Great Britain, Ireland, Wales, Scotland. They're not playing baseball. I got the one and a half percent Esconazi so team Israel, all right, there's like one percent West Africa. So I don't do they did they have a team? I'm not quite sure. You start to look at your twenty three and me, and you go, I got some questions about, you know, whatever happened down through the years here, how do we get you know, some of these countries in there? The one percent two percent, yes see.

00:18:17
Speaker 6: That's my twenty three and meter was arguably it was simultaneously great and the most boring of all time, because it was like ninety nine point nine percent, you know, English or you know, Irish, UK, British like whatever. It was all concentrated right there, but.

00:18:33
Speaker 2: You'll get those stragglers like that one and a half percent. You're like, what happened here? But mine was a little more interesting than I thought it was going to be, because I thought it was going to be all, you know, the Emerald Isle. But turns out that there were some some rogue percentages in there. All right, So Team USA gets Canada on Friday night and Italy moves on to take on Puerto Rico. A couple of college basketball notes. You had McNeice, not McNee state anymore. Lehigh and Idaho they get their tournament bids. Bobby Hurley's out at Arizona State. Syracuse has a job opening, and I'm thinking Jerry McNamara. Now he's got a tournament bid with Sienna and then after that then he takes the two hour and fifteen minute drive from Siana College to Syracuse to take over its alma matern What about Bobby Hurley joining Danny Hurley at Yukon? Could you imagine him as an assistant coach there? They were on the same team, right, Marvin, Does that sound right? It was correct? Bobby and Danny Yeah, yep, years ago. I think they were both coaches on the same same team. But was Danny with Bobby at Buffalo or was it Wagner.

00:19:54
Speaker 5: Bobby Hurley was with Danny Hurley for two seasons at Wagner College and one season at University of Rhode Oh, okay, yeah.

00:20:03
Speaker 2: So Bobby Hurley is out at Arizona State. Here's another thing. The same year Indiana football wins the national title, the basketball team goes eighteen and fourteen lost to Northwestern yesterday by thirteen to get knocked out of the Big Ten Tournament. Indiana's a football school, much to the chagrin of the state that's a basketball state. But for Indiana basketball, like fifteen twenty years ago, this would be a huge deal if this happened to Indiana basketball. Now, when's the last time you talked about Indiana basketball. When's the last time they had a player that you talked about with Indiana basketball. That's what's pretty surprising here. NFL free agency slowing down, although you still have Kyler Murray. Kyler Murray is going to be probably visiting Minnesota or might be a zoom call based on what Ross Tucker was talking about that. Kyler Murray wants to know after this season if I have you know, if I'm correctly reading what Ross Tucker was saying that, Hey, I'm going to go and play for one year. I want to know who's going to be interested in me after this If that's what Ross Tucker was actually describing, that, maybe I go to Minnesota. I want to know is somebody you know looking at me long term? That he has three to five zoom calls that coming up this week, which is kind of surprising. I don't know why I would tip my hand and say, hey, we'll be interested in you in a year from now. In the NFL. At that position, things change. Daniel Jones got paid forty four million dollars a year, the new Kirk Cousins in the NFL, and good for him. I was surprised at that amount, but Daniel Jones was a thing there for about ten games and then not a thing after that.

00:22:05
Speaker 6: Yeah, he's gonna end up making just an unbelievable amount of money.

00:22:10
Speaker 2: Yeah, can we do career salary game with Daniel Jones? You can with this contract or without with this contract.

00:22:20
Speaker 10: Salbery salary, salary, salary, salary, salary, salary, salary, salary.

00:22:48
Speaker 5: There we go two part game, Daniel Jones, how much has he made and will he make after this contract? Based off the minimum he can make? What has he made already?

00:22:59
Speaker 2: A hint?

00:23:01
Speaker 5: In twenty twenty three he made forty six million dollars with the Giants?

00:23:07
Speaker 2: What has he made so far? Let's just combine it, Okay, yeah, let's make it easier. I don't know if it's easier, but make it just one total todd You want to throw out Daniel Jones will make after this contract? How many millions of dollars? Two hundred and twenty seven million, Seaton. I'm gonna say two fifty three Marvin to eighty one. I'm gonna go two thirty nine to five.

00:23:37
Speaker 5: Thrown in the five five, two hundred and fifty eight million dollars.

00:23:42
Speaker 2: Oh dang, I was close. Yes, all right, congratulations, congratulations Seaton, thank you. Let me see the NFL.

00:23:50
Speaker 6: Get that five million difference that I was off by the fire. I get then that you win that. Daniel Jones on what was that to me?

00:23:56
Speaker 8: Uh?

00:23:56
Speaker 2: NFL is looking at the night before Thanksgiving, the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving when there's three games on Thanksgiving and why not cram another one in there?

00:24:07
Speaker 1: Now.

00:24:08
Speaker 2: Social media was like, oh, you know, I don't like this at all, and but you're still gonna watch it. I get the NFL. You can't deny like there's other sports or other events where you go, I'm not gonna watch it. It's the NFL. You'll watch what else is going to be on. You're going to be maybe going to the bar u see people on that Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, coming back home and you get together with former classmates. But you're gonna have a game on and that's what they're looking at Wednesday night, the night before Thanksgiving. I keep wondering, what is the downside. I don't know if there is, because you're going to they have you. It'll be fantasy, it'll be gambling, and it'll be nothing else is on, and you'll watch. Yes, Todd, wasn't Isn't that something to be said?

00:24:59
Speaker 11: Remember the days of like you're waiting once a week your favorite TV show is on and that's that's the big day and you can't wait, and they have a tease at the end and you and there's something that builds up as opposed to, you know, just having it every day. Wouldn't that take away some.

00:25:11
Speaker 2: Of these time? Would you want to go back to nineteen eighty five when there's two games, maybe three games available.

00:25:18
Speaker 11: I'd like a few more than that. But I think we're getting to an oversaturating point. I think I think that hurts the NBA. It's definitely hurting MLB, and I just it's there is such thing as too much of something.

00:25:28
Speaker 2: I believe that, okay, but how much is too much?

00:25:32
Speaker 11: That's what has to be figured out. But I don't think we need the NFL every single day. As much as we all love the NFL, you know, I wouldn't mind like a day or two break between trying to keep trackable.

00:25:41
Speaker 2: The game are there's no Tuesday games once they.

00:25:44
Speaker 11: Do, once they get Thursday, and they just they keep pushing the envelope. And you know, I don't see a need for like trying to see if every day of the week that could be at least one NFL game.

00:25:53
Speaker 2: So if the if the Broncos play Wednesday night, it's the Broncos, I'll watch that.

00:25:57
Speaker 11: I don't know if I'm necessarily watching Saints Falcons game on Wednesday night, but if that's the only game that's on. That's how they get you. They have the standalone game, so you end up watching anyway.

00:26:07
Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think people tune out or turn away. It's the NFL. You know, as long as the product is good, entertaining, interesting, then people are going to watch. Even if you don't you don't bet on the game, or you don't have fantasy attached to this.

00:26:25
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:26:25
Speaker 8: See.

00:26:26
Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean I'm kind of along the same lines as Todd where I do. I do think that we don't need the NFL almost every night. I think that there's probably room for everything else. And I think it's I'll always watch my team, and I'll always watch what the important games are, but it becomes less likely on that, Yes, say that we add a Tuesday game, a Wednesday game, whatever, even Thursdays. I'm kind of like, unless it's a team or a game that I'm really interested in, I'm not watching.

00:26:54
Speaker 8: Yeah.

00:26:54
Speaker 2: But I think we're different because you know, I think younger fans probably are betting the game, and they probably are doing fantasy. We're not doing either. Therefore, you're watching these games. And the number of people that I'm around younger people who say, hey, I got to have a reason to watch this game, and they want to put money on it. That's not us. I just think that you know they have you, you'll watch the game for the most part, I'm with you on Thursday night. It's like, I don't like Thursday night football. I don't think the quality has been good. I don't think it's fair to the players. I hope they don't do Friday. I hope they don't do Saturday, but they they The NFL wants to push that. They want to push it out to the world, and it's like they take us for granted. Now the expansion is you know global, everybody's going to be playing a game outside the United States. Yeah, Paul.

00:27:45
Speaker 5: I went back and looked at the Thanksgiving Eves schedule for last year twenty twenty five. There is no football on college or pro obviously, but there was a triple header of NBA games, three games between five and ten PM, and the NBA started this. The first ever ever NBA tripleheader was last year on Thanksgiving Eve. I looked at the networks and it was all like package shows, not traditional network shows, like pre Thanksgiving type shows, holiday type fair Man.

00:28:15
Speaker 2: The NBA every time they must turn around, they go, wait, what's the NFL doing to us?

00:28:20
Speaker 4: Yeah?

00:28:21
Speaker 2: Christmas Day, the night before Thanksgiving? Yeah, Seaton, Yeah.

00:28:25
Speaker 6: I think it's interesting that you're just talking about how young people need a reason to watch the game, and that reason, more often than not, currently is gambling. That would be the sign of not having a good product, though, if you need a reason to watch the game other than it's just a good game. But oh well, I have money riding on the game, so now I have to watch the game. That would indicate to me that the NFL product is not good because unless you're gambling, then you're less likely to watch it.

00:28:51
Speaker 2: Well, if they don't grow up as fans of teams nowadays you grow up as fans of players because you're in fantasy. I don't know loyalty wise, if you're watching games, how many games you watch? I just know in my family with my kids, it's I'll watch the Packers game all. They don't gamble, but they have fantasy, so you might be watching it that way. But for us it's different. I mean, I probably watch more football because I'm not gambling or not doing fantasy, because I had a hard time when I was gambling watching those games and I watch I watched Red Zone. Man, I'll watch the Big Game, a full game, and then I'll watch Red Zone. But I think you know kids nowadays, you know tension span. Hey, I got something on it my fantasy team. It's just different than us.

Speaker 2: Joining us now the man of the hour or hours. He is the man who is the second most points an NBA history in a game. Bam out of bio joining us on the program, Bam, thanks for joining us. What part of your body hurt the most after the eighty three point game?

00:30:10
Speaker 8: Ooh uh the arms for sure. Just the shoulder.

00:30:16
Speaker 2: From shooting. Yes, you got to ice down the shoulder like a pitcher does after you know, throwing seven innings.

00:30:25
Speaker 8: Yeah.

00:30:26
Speaker 12: I had to get in the ice bath and it really Uh.

00:30:30
Speaker 2: What did you think pre game? Did you think anything pre game differently than any other game you've had in your career?

00:30:39
Speaker 8: Uh? I knew we needed to win that game.

00:30:43
Speaker 12: Uh, because we've we've been in this playing situation for the last three four years and uh, going into the game, you know, we got most of our starters out Andrew Wiggins, Norman Powell, Tyler hero Khalil Whare, so it's only two starters in our bench mob basically. And we know how those games can get because with the Miami Heat, we've beaten the number one teams in both conferences, but we've also lost to both of the worst teams in both conferences. So you can see how that game can be tricky for us, and we just needed to win.

00:31:31
Speaker 2: Why does it feel like people want you to apologize for scoring eighty three points?

00:31:40
Speaker 8: Probably because I wasn't part of the agenda.

00:31:44
Speaker 12: You know, it wasn't it shocked the world because it wasn't somebody who they glorify as a score, as somebody who can get that record. And I feel like that's what shook the world. And also they're gonna say that I shot X amount of free throws.

00:32:06
Speaker 2: But once you realized that they were going to foul you, that that became the offense. You're just like, they're gonna fail me, so I'm I'm going to take advantage of this.

00:32:19
Speaker 8: It wasn't even they were gonna fil me.

00:32:21
Speaker 12: It was more so like I'm being aggressive, I'm trying to get I'm.

00:32:27
Speaker 8: Trying to I'm trying to score buckets. That's what I'm trying to. I'm trying to get buckets.

00:32:31
Speaker 12: It's not uh And they just kept filing me. Like I said, there were no other of my starters out there, so it was just me.

00:32:45
Speaker 2: When you got to eighty one, what were you thinking.

00:32:49
Speaker 12: I gotta make these next two free throws because if I'm missing myself.

00:32:55
Speaker 2: But no thought of Kobe, who was one of your idols. Did you Did you ever think of stopping at eighty one?

00:33:03
Speaker 12: No, because I know if it was the other way around, Kobe would have been like, I'm shooting or whatever I can. I And to be in that conversation as your idol is what to me makes it.

00:33:24
Speaker 8: It gives me.

00:33:25
Speaker 12: One of those things where I'm appreciative of it because it's my idol.

00:33:30
Speaker 8: It's somebody who.

00:33:30
Speaker 12: I grew up watching the game like I grew up watching him, like understanding what he's still for and that man was he will tell you I'm chasing Jordan, whatever record he's trying to get, I'm trying to break it.

00:33:49
Speaker 8: And obviously you know I got the opportunity to do that.

00:33:55
Speaker 2: And I think because people love Kobe so much, that bothered them more that who were you to do that to our Kobe? And here he is your idol, and I just and you're right, there's no way Kobe would say, hey, you got to eighty one. Stop. He'd be like, no, keep going, go for ninety if you can. I mean that was his mentality exactly.

00:34:21
Speaker 12: And like I said, if the dead could talk, I would I firmly believe he'd be like, congratulations, young fella, like you did something I thought nobody could could even reach for the next forty fifty years.

00:34:41
Speaker 2: You remember the first time you met Kobe?

00:34:44
Speaker 8: Never met him? That is the other thing.

00:34:47
Speaker 2: Never met him?

00:34:48
Speaker 8: Never met him? Oh that is.

00:34:52
Speaker 12: That is another reason why it's so special to me because I never got to meet him. Like the one time I thought I was gonna meet him was it was my first All Star. I was like, if I make All Star this year, I might get to meet Kobe. And obviously the tragedy happened, and I remember where I was. I remember just sitting there and just started crying because I was like.

00:35:18
Speaker 8: I was like, bro, like.

00:35:21
Speaker 12: You know from a from player standpoint, you know how we all appreciate that man for what he's done for the game, for what he's done for people's mentality to him creating a mama mentality was like keep pushing forward. So I was heartbroken because I was like, I really wanted to meet my idol at some.

00:35:43
Speaker 2: Point talking to Bam out of bio fresh off of eighty three point per port, well, I mean last night you only got twenty one. I mean, what happened.

00:35:57
Speaker 8: Trying to figure out.

00:36:00
Speaker 12: How you can redoce something like that.

00:36:04
Speaker 8: That's hard.

00:36:05
Speaker 12: It's hard to keep up, and nobody talks about the next game because it's funny because when I go back and look at what he did afterwards, he also had.

00:36:16
Speaker 8: The same type of game, Like it was like, it wasn't.

00:36:19
Speaker 2: Eighty one, Yeah you had thirty. How important was it to have your mom there.

00:36:29
Speaker 12: Man, To have my mom there, to have my people there, to do it at home in front of our home crowd.

00:36:39
Speaker 8: It's a moment none of us will ever forget.

00:36:42
Speaker 12: And to be there, to be in the building, to have my mom there, like I said, like she's my pride and Doug, a lot of this I do for her and for her to you know, see that her son put itself in history. I know she's full of joy and that's something she'll always talk about.

00:37:06
Speaker 2: What does your girlfriend do better than you on the basketball floor? Asia Wilson everything.

00:37:16
Speaker 8: Everything, you know, she can do literally anything.

00:37:20
Speaker 12: And also having her in the building was special because she was mad because I got my ten thousand points while she was on her tour and obviously to do that while she's sitting in courts, I was.

00:37:34
Speaker 8: It was a special moment for us.

00:37:36
Speaker 2: I think her career highs fifty three.

00:37:41
Speaker 8: That's a lot of buckets still, but.

00:37:45
Speaker 2: Let's be honest. I think I could get I think I get ten points off the Wizards.

00:37:50
Speaker 12: Oh listen, Like I said it, everybody wants to be mad at me, be mad at that coach for not doubling me when I had thirty in a quarter.

00:38:06
Speaker 2: You know my problem with this, And I keep telling people in my audience, you had sixty after three quarters, nobody was complaining about how you were playing or they were playing. Then all of a sudden, it's like, oh, you know, he's embarrassing or they're embarrassing the game. I said, what happened the first three quarters? When you put up what sixty four points. I mean, that's what people have to you know, let's look at the entire game, not just the last five minutes where it got a little silly or got out of hand. How do you respond?

00:38:38
Speaker 12: So and also their coach started filing my teammates, so I couldn't I couldn't shoot free throws. So it wasn't like it was just like all the Miami Heat are just shitt in the game away.

00:38:53
Speaker 8: That's not what it was.

00:38:54
Speaker 12: It was also them being like, in order for Bam not to get this record, we're just to file his other teammates when they touched the ball. That's unethical basketball. To me, It's like whatever y'all want to call it, but yeah, people are going to try. What I did out there was special to me and everybody who knows, like how hard I work behind the scenes, like to see me put on that type of performance. To have sixty four and three quarters is insane. And the thing that people forget, like they cut the lead to like eleven in the fourth quarter, So it wasn't like we were up thirty the whole quarter where everybody's just saying, oh, they were up thirty.

00:39:38
Speaker 8: No, they cut the lead to like thirteen.

00:39:39
Speaker 12: To eleven as at one point in the fourth quarter, so I had to play and because nobody watches us until that moment, we've had twenty point leads in the fourth quarter and lost the game. Like, what do y'all want us to do?

00:40:02
Speaker 4: Uh?

00:40:02
Speaker 2: The uniform go to the Hall of Fame?

00:40:05
Speaker 6: Uh?

00:40:06
Speaker 12: Not yet it's on the way though, it hasn't got there yet.

00:40:11
Speaker 2: Wait what are you? What are you waiting for?

00:40:14
Speaker 12: I mean, I got I gotta ship it, man, I mean what you want me to do?

00:40:20
Speaker 8: You still got like.

00:40:24
Speaker 2: You can. That's not a big deal. You got people, You got people who have people who can do this for you.

00:40:29
Speaker 8: Don't give it back, right, It's just a special moment.

00:40:34
Speaker 2: By the way, I have Kobe autograph Jersey, and I have your autograph Jersey, right yeah, yeah, yep, even yours. What you didn't know if I knew who you were?

00:40:52
Speaker 8: Yeah? Man, you know is this.

00:40:56
Speaker 2: Bam? I'm a baller?

00:40:59
Speaker 8: What's your career ID.

00:41:03
Speaker 2: Thirty six?

00:41:05
Speaker 12: Listen, it's a lot of people. I credit that. It's a lot of people that's done score thirty six before.

00:41:11
Speaker 2: But that was before the three point shots. So let's tackle on fourteen more so probably a fifty burger.

00:41:20
Speaker 8: I respect it.

00:41:21
Speaker 2: I'm kind of I was kind of like Tyler Hero before Tyler Hero, m Oh.

00:41:27
Speaker 8: You were a bucket getter.

00:41:29
Speaker 2: Huh, Yep that's what I was. Yep, that's what the ladies called me. Bucket getter.

00:41:35
Speaker 8: Bucket getter. Al Right, okay, Dad.

00:41:40
Speaker 2: Don't leave me open, man, That's all I'm going to say. Do not leave me open. Problem is I couldn't get open. But if you did leave me open, I was gonna make it. I'm not going to pass. I'm not playing defense. I'm just letting you know.

00:41:53
Speaker 8: Okay, okay, just like Tyler.

00:41:59
Speaker 2: Yes, that's it. It's all I'm gonna do. How mad is Tyler Hero? That you got the record and you know that seemed like he would be a guy who would be able to get eighty three. He's going to be upset, honestly, man.

00:42:14
Speaker 12: I think all my teammates was happy for me, because, like I said, performance is that we as the Miami he haven't seen like as much as we want to talk about all the greats that's been there, Like it was something that like people weren't prepared for. Yeah, and that's why I think a lot of Like I said, I think a lot of people are shocked by it because I wasn't the quote unquote anointed one where it was like he can be the.

00:42:46
Speaker 8: One to do it.

00:42:49
Speaker 2: By the way you play the Wizard April fourth, I.

00:42:56
Speaker 12: Probably would get trouble team when I touched the ball, all right, I probably I probably will happen.

00:43:04
Speaker 2: You know what, You could get fifty against the Wizards the next time, and it might be a subpar performance.

00:43:10
Speaker 12: Yeah, people are gonna call me trash if I get fifty.

00:43:16
Speaker 2: Proud, man, I be proud. You have every right to be proud. And uh, it's an incredible performance. And I don't care who you surpassed. You still put up eighty three and you're right. Kobe'd probably say, you go, man, you go. Don't stop at eighty three. But congrats.

00:43:37
Speaker 8: I appreciate that. Damn man.

00:43:39
Speaker 12: Congrats on your thirty six too, with no three point line. Three point line is a lot of butts.

00:43:47
Speaker 8: Yeah, that's that's tough.

00:43:50
Speaker 2: A thirty two minute game, so I'm basically at more than a point a minute.

00:43:57
Speaker 8: Listen, you're in the history books, Dan, Listen. I'm rooting for your.

00:44:02
Speaker 2: Next This this is about you. It's not about me any other day, any other week, it's about me. This, this is about you. But uh, congratulations us, thank you, bam, thank you. That's BAM out of Bayo.
