For The Dads is for every guy who needs a place to talk, vent, and laugh about all the insane, hilarious, and chaotic sh** (sometimes literal) that comes with being a dad.

Hosted by Will Compton–NFL Vet, creator of Bussin' With the Boys, and proud dad of two. This show isn’t about expert advice and how fatherhood is the greatest thing on earth—it’s about embracing the love and suck of parenthood every day. From balancing work and family to battling the mental load, fears, and the moments that wreck you in the best way, we dive into it all with honesty, vulnerability, and a sense of humor. Cause at the end of the day... us dads have no idea what we're doing.

Alongside Will is his producer Sherman Young, a recently new father who’s currently deep in the trenches of Fatherhood and loving every minute of it. Together, they’ll break down everything that can go right and wrong (...usually wrong) when you bring tiny humans into this world.

Expect funny parenting stories, laughs, call-ins, advice, weekly themes, and the kind of conversations you’d have over a cold beer in the garage. Whether you’re raising teens or still Googling “how to install a car seat”, For the Dads is the ultimate podcast for dads who are in it, about to be in it, or just trying to do their best while screwing it up along the way.

If you want to listen to for the Dads automated AD free, be sure to head over to the for the Dad's channel. And wherever you listen to us on audio, enjoy this episode Afore the Dads, Papa Team six Welcome, Welcome to another episode A for the Dads. You might be thinking to yourself, Willie boy, why is you sound a little down right now? I'm doing that to anchor the emotion for the severity of a situation that we need to address. A few things happened a few episodes ago that we need to handle and before we do anything else and get into this episode, I just urge you guys to listen to this message.

00:00:53
Speaker 3: Thank you, my fellow Americans and PT sixers. A few weeks ago, I was on this incredible podcast and I confidently announced to the world that my next child would be a boy. The ultrasound supported these claims, and like many leaders before me, I spoke with great confidence, but perhaps a bit too early. After further review, including a blood sample in the official anatomy scan. New information has come across my desk, and tonight I sit before you to say we are in fact having a girl. Now listen, I'm not going to lie to you. I was extremely excited about having the possibility of a boy, but as a father of girls, I also know there is nothing better than raising strong, hilarious, sweet little girls who completely run my household. So while the administration briefly believed it was entering in its boy dad era, we are proudly continuing the current policy of girl dad dominance. The science is in, the decision is final, and I cannot be more grateful to my beautiful daughters. When Rebel Lawan, my oldest, I will say, your beauty is unmatched, your confidence is unreal. You've never met a stranger in your entire life. You keep us guessing with your profound thoughts, and I love being your dad each and every single day. To my youngest, Willow Rose Lawan, your bravery and knowing who you are and what you want at all times keeps us on our toes, and I have no doubt later in life you will be one of the extremely successful women this world has ever seen. I am so gratefully honored to be your father, and I know that both of you are going to be amazing older sisters to our youngest daughter. I want to say thank you. I want to say God bless my wife, God bless these United States of America, God bless these proud girl dads out there, and God bless for the dads. This hat is now available on Wednesday. Please enjoy this episode with Sherman Young and William Earl Compton.

00:09:23
Speaker 2: We have Look, my little brother Wyatt head coach coach Compton. Yeah, yeah, yeah, came to town over the weekend. We talked about it a little bit on busting with the boys, but him and his girlfriend Morgan, they came and visited this weekend. Phenomenal, phenomenal. I texted him yesterday, reflecting on the weekend. I said, love seeing you this weekend. It was awesome having you guys up.

00:09:46
Speaker 1: Yeah. I know you're laughing, but I was.

00:09:47
Speaker 5: I was being very you know, I love the idea of you sending a reminiscent text.

00:09:52
Speaker 1: It was the only reason why.

00:09:53
Speaker 2: I laugh I was driving home and I was like, we haven't really said anything to you. You know, we're a couple. We're a couple of Compton brothers. We don't we don't don't like talk about emotions a whole lot. Yeah, And I'm like, I really enjoyed having him up, Uncle Wyatt, having Uncle Wyatt up, like they were awesome with the kiddos, seeing whyitet and Morgan engaging with Rue was on ten the entire time because they came Friday night and they got in late, so they probably got in around ten o'clock.

00:10:18
Speaker 1: Kids were already in bed. Yeah.

00:10:20
Speaker 2: And I'm telling my wife, I'm telling Charles, my sweetart, sit up, stand up, Like this isn't little brother Wyatt coming to town. This is head coach of North County High School football. Yeah yeah, I love this is his first head coaching job. Like this is we're here and this is the alma mater.

00:10:36
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:10:37
Speaker 2: And they come in, we do the greeting, we show them the house. I'm kind of fired up to show them the house. I'm like, come chuck out this room.

00:10:43
Speaker 1: That's sick.

00:10:44
Speaker 2: You see there's a pool back there. When I get sunny out tomorrow, you'll be able to see it.

00:10:47
Speaker 1: Tomorrow.

00:10:47
Speaker 2: We're gonna be in it. Did you bring your swimming drunks swimming trunks. He's like, is it heated him? Of course it's heated.

00:10:54
Speaker 1: And uh.

00:10:55
Speaker 2: But as we're all kind of winding down having some conversation, I'm like, dude, who is going to be so hype's?

00:11:03
Speaker 1: She was asking about sleep because it's ten o'clock. Yeah, yeah, you know.

00:11:06
Speaker 2: I was like, I just know when we wake up the morning, because you know, why can they can sleep in?

00:11:11
Speaker 1: Why he can sleep in?

00:11:12
Speaker 2: He might be a nine or ten guy at times eight he does teach, so he's got to get up throughout the week to be a teacher.

00:11:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, but on weekends.

00:11:21
Speaker 2: I know my boy, I know my little bro likes to sleep as eight am at the latest.

00:11:26
Speaker 1: Because I'm telling you right now, you told him that. Yeah, because I'm telling you right now, ru is gonna want to go in your room and wake you up?

00:11:33
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but he was operating. He was ready to go showered up. But it was around eight o'clock and Rue, what do you know? It god done eating breakfast. She's like, can I go wake up Uncle Wyatt. I'm like, sure, you can go back there and wake up Uncle Wyatt because I didn't know what he was doing. He's like getting ready or if he was up and going. But uh, Rue and Scotty loved having him around, especially Ru's got somebody new to boss around and watch her do things. And hey, whyatt, uncle whya? Let me tell you something, Uncle White, Let me tell you something. Let me show you this. Here's how you do it, Uncle White. You gotta watch. You can't get any sidebar conversations. No, uncle, whyatt?

00:12:09
Speaker 1: I need you to watch how much she was Morgan? Watch?

00:12:11
Speaker 2: Yeah, you loved Morgan. Love Morgan. We went to so Saturday, we went to the Farmer's Market. I shot a couple of photos to Derek because I was holding I was holding a nice burrito from Yeah Yo's OMG food truck and it goes to Franklin Farmer's Market every weekend and I love it. Yeah yeah, but Derek is the food food kind of saw himself.

00:12:30
Speaker 1: Yes, mad respect for Derek and his food game.

00:12:33
Speaker 2: I'm sending him photos of these the burritos that I've had around town, or the food truck sitting around. We're having a little picnic on the grass. We don't have a blanket, rather than picnic on the grass.

00:12:42
Speaker 1: Food pictures. Have you gotten from Will just enough, not enough, but maybe two total right now.

00:12:49
Speaker 6: Burrito though, had this cheese crust on that just like I audibly gasped, and Kat was like, what's wrong? And I was like, this is what's wrong? And I showed her and she's like, well, where's that? And then we got the picture of the whole. It was a vibe. It looked like a completely It.

00:13:00
Speaker 2: Was a good vibe because Frunkle Farmer's Market just moved. Now they're operating wherever that was, and it was fun. So we went to the Farmer's Market. We did some grocery shopping to get ready for like a little cookout because the in laws were coming over. But it's just so nice having family around it in town. I know, you have your parents in town, your family in town quite a bit, but it's so nice because you're standing in line, you're doing all these things, but you know, whether it's Uncle Wyatt or Morgan, like you can kind of divide and conquer. Kids want to go out and play in that massive field. We got done getting the burritos and you turn around and look and the kids are just out there in the middle of the field.

00:13:34
Speaker 1: Just Boston. Uncle Wyatt around Boston, Morgan around and you probably can't hear anything, you just see it. Yeah, And I'm just just smiling as I'm just watching, just having a great time.

00:13:46
Speaker 5: Lord knows what Ruth's spouting off to Wyatt. Yeah, telling them what to do.

00:13:50
Speaker 1: We got these and Charlotte's to get these.

00:13:53
Speaker 2: Man, I hate that I can't shout them out because I can't think of their name. But these donuts, He's like, uh not powdered donuts.

00:14:01
Speaker 1: Damn. Anyway, Charlo's getting these donuts, some pretty good donuts and good farmers Franklin Farmer's markets, cash only, and we bring it back back to the house and whoa, wouldn't you know it? My father in law, Lola and Opa, they come over.

00:14:19
Speaker 2: But my father in law, without asking, without asking any question, takes my chocolate covered donut that I wanted.

00:14:32
Speaker 1: Well, he is German.

00:14:33
Speaker 5: They're for their for their strudles, for their baking, but what's the low donuts?

00:14:39
Speaker 2: The in law's coming over your parents or whatever and just thinking they have access to everything without asking permission.

00:14:47
Speaker 1: Did he have like a little bit on the mouth to when you're looking around.

00:14:50
Speaker 2: I didn't know it until I went looking for it because I started to prep the meat, get ready for steaking, you know, steaking.

00:14:57
Speaker 1: Or joke and blow march warts. I had some nice steaks. But I go in and I'm like, I know it's gonna take a little bit, and I'm kind of hungry. I want a little snack. We've been swimming in the pool all day.

00:15:08
Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just gonna provide for your family tonight, and yeah, cook the whole damn the kah.

00:15:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just gonna do everything. Well, you're welcome right now. It's running through my mind and what's stuff to charge do?

00:15:18
Speaker 1: So I can at least right he's open, he's OPA.

00:15:22
Speaker 2: But I go and I'm like, oh, yeah, those donuts. I forgot about the donuts. And I go and I see the bag of donuts and I open it up and look and there's only two left. It's like a cinnamon one and then another one like another sugar donut, and my chocolate one's not in there. And so I go out to the pool area out back like charlo, hey, where's my donut?

00:15:42
Speaker 1: And then when you know it, opah, Oh, I'm sorry, I ate it. And I'm thinking on my head, what what the fuck? Bro oh, opah, you sprecking my Deutsche at my house. I hit it with just a laugh and like, oh, it's all good. But I'm thinking in my head, use on afu. Hey, opah, Hey, that reminds you. Come here, let's take a walk. Hey, come here, Hey, you know what olpah, come here.

00:16:11
Speaker 2: Yeah he might he might come into the pantry with me and having a word. But I sat on it. But I'm thinking, what the fuck, why are you just taking you?

00:16:21
Speaker 1: Did you just not?

00:16:22
Speaker 2: Are you just opening the bag? And like he loves sweets. He loves the sweets, he loves his snacks. I'm sure there's there's pt sixers out there, empty sixers thinking of their dad or thinking of their father, and oh yeah, they love coming over and getting in the snack job.

00:16:33
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they'll getting in the cabinets. But I sat on it, and I saved it.

00:16:39
Speaker 2: For rosen Thorn when we had dinner and we go around and Rue wants everybody. Rue wants everybody to do rosen Thorn because he was apologetic, and I was like, I should have asked, because I'm thinking Charles has got like a half dozen they're six she she mama likes a couple. I just wanted a chocolate cover one, sweetheart, just give me one chocolate cover one. So we bring them home. There's four left in the bag. But it's a fresh bag that's on the island, you know what I mean. It's not like he goes in a cabinet and see something. It's like, oh, here's some snacks. I'll get some sacks. It's a fresh bag sitting on the island.

00:17:07
Speaker 1: Four left. He eats two of them, one being my chocolate covered donut. So we're sitting down there at dinner time.

00:17:14
Speaker 2: You're in the cookout and we go around us making everybody do rose and thorn my roses. Uncle Wyatt Morgan coming to the talent, seeing my little brother and getting to spend time and seeing him spend time and play with you guys, and seeing the family together, having our in laws over it, just having a squad again.

00:17:29
Speaker 1: Seeing some new fresh faces around. Yeah, what's your thorn? My thorn?

00:17:37
Speaker 2: My thorn is Opa eating my chocolate donut. Everybody starts laughing.

00:17:41
Speaker 1: He's laughing, but you can tell he's laughing, but also like I can tell, yeah, yeah, whill are you also? Man?

00:17:49
Speaker 2: I'm thinking, yeah, yeah, Opa, eating my chocolate donut. I just kind of leave it at that. I'm more so venting now that I have for the dads. Yeah, Opa might even be out there listening right now.

00:17:58
Speaker 5: So y'all haven't had y'all have how to follow up on the chocolate donut experience.

00:18:02
Speaker 7: I don't.

00:18:03
Speaker 1: To me.

00:18:03
Speaker 2: It's one of those situations where the energy being exchanged is very family friendly fun. Yeah, but also in the same breath, and I think men can attest to this in the same breath. What's understood doesn't need to be said. Yeah, So I do think that we solved a problem without talking about it.

00:18:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, he learned something that day. That's what men assume anyway.

00:18:29
Speaker 2: You assume that if I just give off a certain body language or energy, problem's gonna get solved.

00:18:34
Speaker 1: Yeah. Then if it comes back up, it's like, what do you mean I kind of posture like this.

00:18:37
Speaker 2: You shouldn't. You saw the look in my face. Everybody else laughed with thorn. I smiled, but I wasn't laughing. I was looking at that extra little WinCE in your eyes. It was that that linger and little look. Is that I da you to do it again?

00:18:54
Speaker 1: What was Olpu's rose I wasn't listening to nobody. I was just waiting for Mike to go on the Rose and Thorn. Great Family Today shows. What are they called Ellie's Old Fashioned Donut?

00:19:08
Speaker 2: Yes, Ellie's Ellie's Old Fashioned Donuts. Shout out pool, shout out Ellie's no free shoutouts.

00:19:14
Speaker 1: God. It's good family fun over the weekend.

00:19:17
Speaker 5: The one note I would give to Opah has just come clean about it, miss Amy my mom did?

00:19:23
Speaker 1: He came clean?

00:19:24
Speaker 4: Well?

00:19:25
Speaker 1: When I came out to charl I was like, Charle, where's my chocolate donut? Yeah?

00:19:28
Speaker 2: She's like it should be in the bag, And I was like, oh, I ate it on that he might have sat on accident, I can't remember.

00:19:34
Speaker 1: That's apologizing because you got caught, not because you did it. You know what I mean? You slice on a little bit, Oprah. My mom has come in town twice.

00:19:43
Speaker 5: You know those little Valgue packs of the vanilla and chocolate ice.

00:19:47
Speaker 1: Cream hit the Bluebell. Yeah, she's completely gutted us twice when she's come in town and apologized profusely about it.

00:19:59
Speaker 5: I'm not a sweet to so it doesn't affect me. I'm not worried about it. Jill wasn't worried about it, because miss Amy's like, hey, I'm gonna You're never.

00:20:08
Speaker 2: Worried about it until you're going to the freezer to get some ice cream and it's all gone and you're like, honey, what happened to the ice cream? It's like, oh, oh yeah, my mom was in town, and so you know, I bet your mom made it.

00:20:17
Speaker 1: I bet her ass did eat it.

00:20:19
Speaker 5: If for any listeners of the pod, they're probably sitting there thinking, Oh, Reese's peanut Buttercup, Valentine's Day, four times hard Box, miss Amy.

00:20:28
Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like, are we talking about the same mom Is that the same mom? Us is over and over and over? Apologize profusely if he continued to eat it over and over and again.

00:20:41
Speaker 5: Maybe I've grown callous in numb to it at this point because I'm I'm used to that behavior and it deterred me from having a sweet tooth.

00:20:48
Speaker 1: Maybe a good thing.

00:20:50
Speaker 5: But I did get some follow up phone calls for miss Amy buying ice cream for us to like replenish.

00:20:56
Speaker 2: I should just randomly text over right now, like we don't. It's not like we're texting all the time. Would you send them just a random text, I can't believe you ate my chocolate donut. We're usually just talking, like if somebody's out of town or something to work at the house.

00:21:13
Speaker 1: You know, you're kind of having that exchange and back and yeah, so you have a right now you have a joking relationship with your father. Yes, okay, I guess like I'm not.

00:21:26
Speaker 2: Mad per se, but I felt some type of way about that particular situation.

00:21:30
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm like, hey, I listen, I love you. I know you got a sweet tooth.

00:21:35
Speaker 2: But we got to have some awareness and ask a couple of questions.

00:21:41
Speaker 1: Especially if you say you look in a.

00:21:42
Speaker 2: Donut bag and say they're all glazed, or say they're all the same kind, and you grab one or two, you know you're just grabbing part of the part of the flock. But you see one solo chocolate covered doughnut in there.

00:21:55
Speaker 5: Oh, that might be there for a reason. Somebody might have speciactically ordered that.

00:21:59
Speaker 1: That's all I'm asking, Yeah, it's all I'm asking. And no, no for dads. I think a dad hack unlocked in that moment.

00:22:05
Speaker 5: Is just get a little paper towel action, go ahead and snack that will and hide it. I know it's your house and you don't need to be hiding in your house.

00:22:15
Speaker 1: Yeah, what are we talking? What are we talking about? But we're outnumbered. We're outnumbered. The girls are gonna be growing up, stuff's gonna be vanishing, and maybe you gotta fight for yourself a little bit. Yeah, I see what you're saying there.

00:22:30
Speaker 2: To me, I would think of that dad hack of more of a with your kids, because they're not.

00:22:36
Speaker 1: They're not they're not growing kids. That was for kids. We're talking about mature adults.

00:22:40
Speaker 5: Yeah, we're talking about father in laws. Yeah, yeah, we're talking about father in law. Were talking about We're not even talking about a game. We're talking about practice with father in laws. Great weekends, like a fantastic weekend. I had an incredible weekend, incredible weekend. I had a lot of fun stuff. I did have my APR that I thought.

00:23:04
Speaker 1: We could go over APR, Dad brain, I forgot my APR. No, you're fine, go ahead hit.

00:23:08
Speaker 5: Your and this is just our after pod report. I got some notes from wifey this weekend. Yeah, got some notes from wifey.

00:23:19
Speaker 1: One. We're moving, Oh you're moving, We're moving. I thought you were talking about Hey, you're talking about continuing to run or maybe you buy the house.

00:23:28
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll pour into it and no rehabilitate the house.

00:23:33
Speaker 1: Great news, we're moving. My wife broke the great news to me that we're done with this rent house.

00:23:40
Speaker 5: We're looking for a new rent house. Our leases up in June, so it's perfect timing here in March to start looking for some new houses.

00:23:48
Speaker 1: I'm very excited.

00:23:49
Speaker 2: So your tone and your body language is telling me. This is the vibe I'm getting. You're saying we're moving, like you're all happy, Yeah, happy, go lucky. Yeah, my wife said we're moving. I'm feeling that you just got told that you're moving.

00:24:09
Speaker 1: I certainly got told by my wonderful, beautiful wife that were moving. That's your Yeah, you didn't miss anything. But some of the audience might be thinking, all, was this a team? Was this a team? Ever?

00:24:20
Speaker 2: Like you guys are both wanting to move, or it's just all of a sudden something happened. We're getting out of this guy.

00:24:25
Speaker 5: I don't think when it's a great idea like that, I don't think there needs to be a whole lot of like discussion.

00:24:33
Speaker 1: I think she had a great idea and we're going with it. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. How did it happen? How did this come to be?

00:24:41
Speaker 5: I got a text of some mouse poop on the kitchen counter and uh, it followed up by a text of we're moving, which was phenomenal news.

00:24:52
Speaker 1: I was very excited. How did you respond to say? Oh, yeah, it's a great win, you know what.

00:25:00
Speaker 5: Let me get on zillo And then she beat me to it and started sending me Zillow stuff of the new houses that we'll be moving into, which is great.

00:25:09
Speaker 1: Oh she already did the work. Yeah.

00:25:12
Speaker 5: And some of these houses are up to thirty five forty five minutes away, so I'll have a lot of time on the road self reflection.

00:25:20
Speaker 2: Thirty five to forty five minutes away, Like right now, you're a couple of minutes away from the shop.

00:25:24
Speaker 1: Yeah, a little too close if you, if you ask me, a little too close. You could walk each day here? I know, But why do that?

00:25:31
Speaker 5: Why run to work like Dan Gable when you can drive thirty five to forty five minutes?

00:25:39
Speaker 1: But I'm very excited for that, I can tell Yeah, I could she segue too.

00:25:43
Speaker 5: She's thinking a lot about child number two, maybe potentially trying for child number two, which I think is another great idea from the WiFi, because we didn't have any plans to like wait or anything like that, like any type of agreed on.

00:25:58
Speaker 1: Schedule or anything. So we'll drive for baby number two and then hopefully she what I'm aiming for is she's pregnant during the move would be ideal. Third trimester.

00:26:09
Speaker 5: Damn, it may be nesting stage, maybe like late second trimester, when the anxiety's like at its peak.

00:26:16
Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll try and time it out.

00:26:18
Speaker 2: But when their hormones have been completely hijacked, Yeah, that's the time to move.

00:26:23
Speaker 1: That's the time to move. So I'm out. But hey, baby number two, new house, baby number two and new house homeowner. Yep, sherman, what are you gonna do about the mice? Don't worry. I caught it, and I did take a picture this morning.

00:26:35
Speaker 5: But then I was like, that's a little it's a little gruesome to show on the live. But long live the king. I'm the king of my domicile. Yet again, the mouse has been defeated. That's this morning. That's that's all off the press.

00:26:49
Speaker 1: Back to APR though, I got another great note from my wife that I need to work on the three piece, Sherman, what are the three peas?

00:26:59
Speaker 5: The three piece A pubes, poop and p And Jill made a great she made a fantastic note that whenever's.

00:27:07
Speaker 2: Poop and pee, pubes poop and pee. And I'm thinking this is scarlet. But then you say pubes so that I'm like.

00:27:13
Speaker 5: God, it's not our eight month old. So I'm like, oh, that must yeah, that must be she's talking to me. But whenever Jill goes to the bathroom, there's always one of those three p's, like just a little hint of it.

00:27:28
Speaker 1: Maybe sometimes there's a hint of two of them, and God forbid three. So, uh, I'm working on my she calls it house hygiene. She said, I have great hygiene body hygiene, but I need to work on my house hygiene. And so we're working on getting the three p's taken care of.

00:27:46
Speaker 2: Okay, I have questions. I don't know if you guys have questions. Yeah, please go ahead poop, pee and pubes.

00:27:55
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:27:55
Speaker 2: Yeah, So you're telling me that wifey whenever she's going to the baths that you guys use together.

00:28:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, or the guest room or the guest room bathroom.

00:28:05
Speaker 2: There's always one of those three little hint that is still around the toilet. Yes, sir, I can wrap my head around pubes out of the three like a couple of strays. You're trimming up, you're grooming. Yeah, you're trying to make it nicy for wifey.

00:28:24
Speaker 1: Yeah. Poop and pee.

00:28:28
Speaker 5: Yeah, you get a streak here, you get a holding scarlet while peeing there, and you chalk it up.

00:28:35
Speaker 1: I need to tighten the screws. I need to tighten the screws.

00:28:39
Speaker 2: You don't sound like a cat like me. Whenever I get done going to the bathroom, I'm always somebody who just checks.

00:28:45
Speaker 1: I check the rim yep. If I have a blowout, God forbid, God forbid I have a blowout.

00:28:51
Speaker 2: Yeah, the back of the bowl up underneath the seat, I always lift and kind of see what's going on.

00:28:58
Speaker 1: Because I'm personally like i'd be side with Jill on this one. Oh, certainly this.

00:29:05
Speaker 5: You remember that note that you gave on my first news of the moving and you're like, you look this way, but you sound this way. Remind me look this way but sound this When I when I was jokingly excited about moving. Oh yeah, okay, just a few minutes ago, just a few minutes. Ok, this one's actually a good note. This one's actually a good note that I should work on.

00:29:28
Speaker 1: Oh, on the APR. This is feedback you've gotten and you're like, yeah.

00:29:32
Speaker 5: You know what you're write And in the note I told myself and maybe this could help a.

00:29:37
Speaker 1: Dad out there.

00:29:38
Speaker 5: Is when I'm at work or I am at someone's house, someone else's house, and I go to the bathroom, I do have like a very O C D nature about myself of I do not want to be because I also have the reputation around here of oh, Sherman blows it up.

00:29:58
Speaker 1: Sherman blows it up.

00:30:00
Speaker 2: When Decat went yesterday and he had to go, all he was trying to do is find the plunger. But in that time of finding the plunger, somebody came in. There was like, oh, who didn't flush the toilet?

00:30:09
Speaker 1: The fuck? But everybody's immediate that reaction was who do you think it was? I bet it was sureman. Oh, And they would have yeah, like, yeah, there's no notes there. Now Do I leave my stuff around, absolutely not. Do I blow it up? For sure?

00:30:26
Speaker 5: But now I need to get in the mental mind space of hey, when I'm pooping and pen at my house, I'm actually at somebody else's house.

00:30:35
Speaker 2: Yeah, because if there was poop peer pubes in the guest bathroom and I knew you just used it.

00:30:42
Speaker 1: You'd think I'm a psychopath. I would never get an invite. No, no, no, you'd get invited back. But there'd be a nice we'd have a nice laugh, maybe a tweet, yeah, yeah, maybe a walk and talk and walking talking, laugh a little bit. Opah, Sherman, Come here for sure you just use the toilet? Yeah, I thought so. Hey, let's go take a walk. As you're flipping the steaks from the ground. Hey, sure, did you use the guests room forty five minutes ago? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I thought so. Put your hand over this grill. Yeah you like that? You felt hot? That is imagine your face on it, Sherman.

00:31:24
Speaker 5: Do you know how to test the uh internal temperature of a steak without even touching it? Give me your hand, put your pointer finger in your thumb together, feel that squeeze that it's medium rare.

00:31:37
Speaker 1: Nice dad, hack right there, nice grill hack. You get all the way to the pinky.

00:31:41
Speaker 2: Yeah, that's well done. Tell the dads. Tell any new young dads out there that might not be savvy on the grill. What you're talking about.

00:31:47
Speaker 1: Uh, I believe medium will work on. Yeah, I gotta work through it too. I don't think it's rare medium, rare, medium, well done.

00:31:58
Speaker 7: Pointer finger rare, Yeah, this is this is rare. Second finger middle medium, rare.

00:32:04
Speaker 1: Medium, rare medium medium, well well, another good thing for medium rare.

00:32:07
Speaker 7: When the juices start to come out of this steak, that's a good, very very good tailtale sign that you have a medium rare steak.

00:32:14
Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, great, call the chef. His name is, his nickname isn't chef for no reason.

00:32:19
Speaker 1: It's a literally chef. But that right there, rare.

00:32:23
Speaker 2: Yep index finger, middle finger medium rare medium, rare medium, medium, pinky is well done. So you're grabbing and you feel the toughness on on this little pad right here on your thumb.

00:32:35
Speaker 1: That's what you should be feeling if you grab the steak.

00:32:38
Speaker 7: And then if it's a fl ay, you need to be it's gonna be a little more tender. You need to be a little more careful on using the touch. I would give much more in a look for the juices to rise. Yeah, just a small thing.

00:32:49
Speaker 2: But if you don't have that foundational education, you shouldn't be getting around to fill a You're going to full a you know, a thing or two about some steaks.

00:32:57
Speaker 1: And as you have me leaned over the grill, you get to a well done you go, And that's what you're gonna be. If my fucking guest bath ever has another pew on it again, you put a little shit stain, you're gonna be well done. Good APR good, A good, good feedback from my wife.

00:33:18
Speaker 2: I'm glad you communicated that with is communications key Will So I had a couple APR dad brain moments last week pretty much immediately within the hour of the episode releasing, oh, not an hour, within the first two hours of the episode releasing last week. Yeah, I got a I got a phone call. It wasn't just feedback through a text. It was a phone call.

00:33:41
Speaker 1: Yeah. And the first question was because.

00:33:43
Speaker 2: What we do last week we celebrated Scottie turning six months old. I forget if I said the day you're listening, or if itels the day we're recording the tenth or eleventh.

00:33:53
Speaker 1: It was six months, right, six months? Okay, I'm just helping you. I thought it was not.

00:33:58
Speaker 2: Wife calls me in first thing he said, I'm like, hey, sweetheart, She goes, do you know your daughter's birthday?

00:34:03
Speaker 1: Oh? And I was like, which daughter? But yeah, I was like, uh, oh shit, I got that wrong, didn't I. She's like, how do you not know? You? Like, you only have two kids and they're young. It's early.

00:34:21
Speaker 2: It's not like they're grown up, and you kind of forget when their birthday could be. How do you forget when Scotty's birthday is? Oh, sweetheart, it ain't even like that, Like in my brain, it's like a waterfall system. Rue is April third, twenty twenty two, so four three two, And then with Scotty, I go eleven. I think it's eleven ten, but I need to flip it. Rue is descending, Scotty is uscending. So Scotty turned six months on November twelve or March twelfth, great, not March tenth or I forget it? Look, dad, brain, I forget what I even want?

00:34:56
Speaker 1: Hold on hold on the twelfth. Okay, the twelfth day Instagram November is her birthday is her day of birth. March March twelfth is when she turned sixteen months old. Sixteen months. I just confused everybody because I think I said six, and I was like, she's just really good at dinner for a six month old.

00:35:13
Speaker 6: And I just was that's why I asked you six, and you look back at me and said you get six.

00:35:18
Speaker 1: Dad, brain, that brain, that birth six APR report.

00:35:21
Speaker 5: I gotta be completely honest, after everything you just went over, I do not know, after everything that you just said, what your daughter's birthday is or how old she is.

00:35:35
Speaker 2: Scottie is sixteen months old. She turned sixteen months old on March twelfth, Okay, her birthday, her day of birth when she came into this world and dead and Mama were smiling at her. That was on November twelfth. Okay, So I gott the I got the day off. APR number two. This is an interesting one because we open up every episode. I hope your trash is taken out. Big trash day guy. We are in a new house, so we're in a new area, We're in a new environment.

00:36:06
Speaker 1: Oh, I forgot about this.

00:36:07
Speaker 2: I missed trash a couple of week are a few weeks ago listening now, and I know this mailman is out there listening.

00:36:12
Speaker 1: He's a pet sico.

00:36:16
Speaker 2: But you know how a few weeks ago I stood in solidarity with a gentleman who called in and said, I forgot to take out the trash. Like, fuck me. Yeah, So I stood in soolidating with him. Like the next time I had to take out trash, I stood in solidary. I forgot to take out the trash, but I stood in solid area.

00:36:32
Speaker 5: Yeah, shortest voice failing before the that's history.

00:36:36
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah. Yeah.

00:36:37
Speaker 2: So the next week I take out the trash. Remember I did a little walk and talk videos. I'm walking down to the driveway. It was kind of night time out walk, the trash bens out, trash is taken out. Yeah, so that trash day happens. The next week, my wife takes out the trash. This is we are now at last week when I'm getting this APR report. Yeah, because trash Day for us is on Wednesdays. Episode drops on Wednesdays. Mailman comes on Wednesday. Mailman comes every day, but he comes. He comes on Wednesdays. He comes up to the door.

00:37:15
Speaker 5: Yeah, because your mailbox isn't at your door, wells down at the bottom of the driveway.

00:37:22
Speaker 1: He comes up to the door.

00:37:24
Speaker 2: And I could butcher the details here, but essentially knocks charro answers and he delivers our mails, so he know when he sees he sees old Willie one chelf on there. Yeah, he's a PT sixer, he's a PT sicko. And he goes, I can tell your husband. I can tell your husband is having trouble setting up the trash outside. And he goes, basically, you know how I knew that.

00:37:53
Speaker 1: You did it today? Oh my god, because I didn't do it last week either. My wife did it because you texted me someth about the trash, something like that's why we're a tea baby.

00:38:11
Speaker 2: And he goes, because I knew it was your husband because when he put out the trash bins, he had them both right next to each other, touching, which is a no note if you wanted him to be able to lift the bins up and put him in the trash note, Yep, it's a good note. Need to separate him for you know, a few inches whatever it is. And this is the mailman. This is not the trash man giving game right, correct.

00:38:33
Speaker 1: This is the mailman.

00:38:34
Speaker 2: And he put the trash cans in front of the mailbox, so technically he might not be allowed to put the mail into where he's got to come up to the door. He's like, but just wanted to give that note. I knew it was you today because everything was placed perfectly at the end of the driveway. So I have some work to do. Shout out the mailman that runs through our area. He's a pt sick.

00:38:58
Speaker 1: Oh, yes he is. He's looking out for his boy. Does he have a first name? Do we want to shout out? I don't know his first name? Oh, okay, well I don't know. I don't know if he gave it to Jarrow, we'll get on that, ba.

00:39:07
Speaker 2: If he gave it to jar and Shrot didn't tell me his first name, maybe I need to keep an eye on the mail man at home.

00:39:11
Speaker 1: My dream, when you initially told the very brief story because you didn't want to spoil it for the pod, my dream is that your mailman is a guest on for the dads eventually one day, Buddy, I've been having these thoughts on guests because I know people love when we have guests. What we've only had Taylor on, but I know people would love to hear from other guests. We do want to do that.

00:39:36
Speaker 2: We thought it was very We love the whole, the community, the language, everything.

00:39:41
Speaker 1: That we're doing on for the day.

00:39:42
Speaker 2: It's a lot of fun. We've also been in talks for months now about having a guest list. Yeah, we don't want it to go consecutive guests rolling out week after week after week to where it becomes a guest centric show. But when we do have guests on, like, who are the guests going to be? We want uh Chicago Ups, Anthony riz we want, we want Dan Gable. We love with Greg Olsen, greg Olsen, sal for Sella.

00:40:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, he was the first friend there.

00:40:12
Speaker 2: Matt Staff, Matt Staff for Luke Comb's like these are Bob Odenkirk, Yeah, these are bigger, Yes, Bro, he would be phenomenal. Would love that any dad that I've seen doing podcasts to where it's like a dad clip for content. I want the I love people who want to just talk that life.

00:40:32
Speaker 1: Yeah.

00:40:32
Speaker 2: However, another part of me was like the male man, there's a there's a there's a there's a PT sixer. Yeah, that operates the this flower farm we went to over the weekend, And you can pull up the Instagram so that way the photo the screenshot can be on the screen cover shot coming to mind farmer Sean.

00:40:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, but just salt of the earth. Dad could not agree more. I want I want some dads on here. Yeah, some dads. I don't want this.

00:41:05
Speaker 2: A dad show doesn't have to be some name of some status. No, and a siko that's out there that we sit there and communicate with all the time, that writes in, that does all these things.

00:41:14
Speaker 5: Like we'd love to have just dads, yes on the pod. No one you just named fits this category. I just want to throw that out there. But like we're we don't want like pretty perfect picture of dad for every single guess.

00:41:32
Speaker 1: We want some dads. Yeah, I want a guy in the trenches. It's got a little blood and a little dirt on his face because he's he's got four under four at.

00:41:41
Speaker 2: Home, and he's just got some good stories. Like, we're not out here chasing numbers. We do encourage everybody to subscribe. If you have a subscribe, please make sure you subscribe following all of our audience channels. But it's not like when we look at guests, we don't want to just chase what numbers could be. Yeah, we just want some good old fashioned dad combos where Dad's can men have an ollipop with us?

00:42:02
Speaker 1: Here? Man?

00:42:02
Speaker 2: They're co hosting the show with us. They're not We're not sitting here and they're sitting on the other side and we're interviewing them. It's like Taylor Reiner where he was a co host, a guest host for the Dads.

00:42:12
Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that would be awesome.

00:42:14
Speaker 5: I want some guys that they deep grunt when they get up out of a chair. Yeah, any question you asked them, no matter how easy to answer, there's always a ball cap off and scratch ahead and go as shit.

00:42:28
Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, you know what, Let me call my wife and make sure this story's right. Yeah, let me, Hey, what'd you do this weekend? Whatever? Like whatever, whatever my wife told me to you, I just shut my mouth. Yeah, I go where she wants to.

00:42:43
Speaker 5: Also, I just I just unlocked a memory from yesterday because I tried to block it out.

00:42:49
Speaker 1: We're talking about APR.

00:42:51
Speaker 5: Got a nice little phone call from my wife that I love I love you Jilly Bean around five point fifteen or no, no, it was five twenty six. It was five twenty six, and she said, are you still at the office.

00:43:09
Speaker 1: I say, I sure am. We had a late recording.

00:43:11
Speaker 5: She said, who's picking up Scarlet? I said, that is a great note, honey, I'll go do that. I'll go pick up our daughter. Great question. Great question, because oh yeah, Monday, Wednesday, Friday is my days. I go pick up our daughter. And if I don't do it before six o'clock, we get hit with the fee. That was a great note by my wife forgot, forgot to go pick up Scarlett. I did get there before six though, five p fifty eight. If not, you get a fee.

00:43:43
Speaker 2: Just you just tell them charge it to the four of the day.

00:43:46
Speaker 1: On the dead. Put it on the dead.

00:43:51
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and yes also future future note. I was not being held at gunpoint here at the office was more so we just had a late recording day and I like, literally for guy.

00:44:06
Speaker 1: And that happens to me because we were doing George Kittle. Yes it was George Kittle, and it's like, this is a huge pod. This is fine. It ran late because of RAM late, Like it wasn't like right right when Luke comes was on. I had to get that on.

00:44:21
Speaker 2: I was like, hey, I hate to do this, I have to leave. So I got to get home by a certain time and I was running late and I'm sitting there texting. That's when I was vin mowing my name just Venmotor one hundred dollars. Yeah, I'm sorry.

00:44:33
Speaker 5: But on the death Yeah, and uh yeah, that was a bone chilling phone call. Jill actually went very easy on me. But at the hospital she cannot leave like that. There's actual like rules and parameters around that living during a shift, so it's literally up to me.

00:44:53
Speaker 1: And uh, that's how we wanted though, Papa team, That's how we won it. Good.

00:44:57
Speaker 5: Yes, but that phone call was so funny. Dude, just who's picking up our daughter?

00:45:02
Speaker 1: Good question? Crazy? I think it's been today? It is you today? Good? I forgot and even better APR.

00:45:09
Speaker 5: We had a fantastic episode last week where we talked about steak and blow job Day multiple times. Found out from our lovely women at daycare and shout out Miss Angela and Miss Crystal because they're great. Miss Crystal found our podcast last week when she was she was on Spotify.

00:46:38
Speaker 2: That's a tough spot to be in, Yeah, especially any new listener that came in last week. Yeah, interesting one to come fun. I hope you all laughed and had a great time.

00:46:48
Speaker 5: How did do we want to recap? Really quick before we get into all this stuff? Do you want to touch on your March fourteenth? Because I saw the stakes that you cooked. I'm saying plural. You cooked enough to feed an army. You had an army at your house. Yeah, so you came through with the steaks. How Sake Day was a plus. Stake Day was a plus. Steak Day, Yeah, buddy, I'm not even gonna sit here and act and pretend Steak Day was good for me too.

00:47:21
Speaker 1: Steak Day was good for me too. I thought it was a joke. I mean, it is a joke, but but I don't know.

00:47:33
Speaker 5: I just cook up the steak and then, you know, we're watching the movie, and then the movie ends, and then the lights are off and I'm sitting there like, Okay.

00:47:41
Speaker 1: She's really milking it now, she's really Did you have a great day today? Yeah?

00:47:49
Speaker 9: I did.

00:47:50
Speaker 1: It feels incomplete. I did have a good days about to get better. I don't know. We're about to go to bed, Yeah we are. Let's just say fluff the sheet just a little bit. Let's just say it ended, and.

00:48:20
Speaker 2: I had my mouth tape on and I was just facing I was facing Waffle, Waffle the bulldog just in the corner.

00:48:34
Speaker 1: We tried. Hey, we had fun. We did our best and we had fun. You guys got people. That's what I'm saying today. I you know, I still think we impact it.

00:48:45
Speaker 6: End a lot of people's lives that day that we got emails and comments about good you did the lord's work.

00:48:50
Speaker 1: We impacted others.

00:48:52
Speaker 5: I'm being so serious because like this is a joke, but that did. Thank you for that silver lining, because if anybody did get their pipe smoked.

00:49:01
Speaker 1: Vi FTD, hell yeah, hell yeah. I wanted to do like videos on it.

00:49:11
Speaker 2: I was like prepping my steak and I want to do a video of how to prep the meat.

00:49:15
Speaker 1: Poor joking joke. Your post barrinated, well did.

00:49:21
Speaker 6: I don't know the name, and this is not a bit, but while going through the four the D's phone, your post did get reposted and shared to the story of a female movie star of that category. Then champion it. I'll see if I can find it. I did not recognize the name off first gas, but there was a story attachment of your post into a a porn stars.

00:49:41
Speaker 1: Instagram storl who was saying, well, I guess it is official.

00:49:46
Speaker 6: I was thinking, like, Hollywood movie star, that's a different part of Hollywood.

00:49:50
Speaker 1: It's like a different angle. Yeah, they make shows. I'm legitimately just gonna be like, we gotta find out. Oh yeah, maybe it's like anathany Armis or something.

00:50:04
Speaker 10: Fausday's funneled. Boys, am I see you, Ego, Tobby.

00:50:18
Speaker 2: I did see that the post had way more shares than it did likes. Just the secret work.

00:50:26
Speaker 1: Was being done. Some absolute goom Beret demon the goom Berets and seeming Team six's were on net. They're like, finally, these guys just sit there and grind. They're like, oh, I love my gid, my gid, oh my god.

00:50:44
Speaker 6: Just for reference, the post has uh, I mean, it did well and has one hundred and sixty three k views, okay, four thousand likes, thirty one comments, forty three reposts, twelve thousand cents.

00:50:54
Speaker 1: Oh good, oh good. We made an impact. So that's how my March fourteenth.

00:51:00
Speaker 5: We have daughters, we have wives, and we think women are absolutely incredible.

00:51:08
Speaker 1: We do, and we celebrate them. We do celebrate them. And to the twelve twelve point twelve point six, I tell you this, we ain't running on April fourteenth. Yeah, we're holding the line, buddy. If you think PT six is going to retreat on April April fourteenth.

00:51:36
Speaker 2: If it did, if it didn't happen for you, April fourteenth is a time to show the example of what the celebration looks like.

00:51:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, show them what March fourteenth is all about, and hopefully the you know, most of our house will be boxed up by then. That'll be perfect. Yeah.

00:51:54
Speaker 2: I hope you're no, no, no, no. I hope you extend your lease and Jill is pushing third trimester, and then that's when you decide to move. Okay, first, I think that's optimal. Yeah, that's optimal moving when your wife is going on a third trimester.

00:52:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, So we'll just be celebrating the news of I hope.

00:52:14
Speaker 2: That you're closing date and do date are the exact same day? Oh, that would be good. Yeah, that would be good.

00:52:21
Speaker 1: Yeah. We gotta find a way to time that out. Go month to month? Should we shout out some comments? Got a lot of comments? We gotta get through. We have a lot we get to do. Not get through that we get to do. And fucking talking about do we want to hit our recap ones first recap comments? We should have probably hit those at the top.

00:52:42
Speaker 2: Will's apr Scotty's birthday is not eleven eleven all right? Josh Nelson on Spotify submitted steak and bjday. This is Josh Nelson on Spotify submitted Steak and BJDA to the joint calendar. Wife conducted a tactical edit to Peanut Noodles and Pa Noodles and pussy.

00:53:07
Speaker 1: There you go, not the mission we planned, but the mission we got. Kay, Hey, there we go. There we go. A little shock wave. Never hurt you never Uh.

00:53:16
Speaker 5: I've Jonah Kerns, who's riding in uh from our wonderful empty Siko and I forget her name, Caitlin a bear.

00:53:26
Speaker 1: See that's why we put it on the shelf. Let's go. Caitlin rode in and said, you want to have a boy? No eye contact? Okay? Jonah? How to follow up on that?

00:53:38
Speaker 5: Jonah Kerns on Spotify said, I think when she says don't look me in the eyes, she means a certain position named after a can nine. Yeah yeah from Jonah good note new dads, New dads.

00:53:54
Speaker 1: Go on here.

00:53:55
Speaker 2: From Lyle Styler on Spotify, what's up? Boy's wife He has been in due for the past twenty four hours. Hopefully we meet our little girl soon to.

00:54:03
Speaker 1: Pray for us.

00:54:04
Speaker 2: Also, the pull out recliner bed has a bar in the middle of my back. Oh good glove, y'all boys, Lyle, congratulations. I hope everything went well. I hope mom and baby are healthy. I love that you went through I love that you went through the suck with the recliner.

00:54:22
Speaker 1: And I got to hear that first and last game because it was superb. Lyle Styler Lyle. It's either Lyle Styler or Lyle's Tyler. Oh, I see mess, there's no space. Oh okay, you just taking a guest.

00:54:35
Speaker 7: No.

00:54:35
Speaker 1: I just thought the last name Styler was so sick. If it if it's maybe it's Tyler. So now it seems like he's gonna be fuck. What do you do? Also, dad pad? Did you see the dad pad? It's getting kicked around the dad pad.

00:54:51
Speaker 5: It's just like travel mattress built specifically to the measurement of a hospital pullout couch.

00:55:00
Speaker 1: No shit, Yeah dude, why didn't we think of that? I know, because we're idiots. Well here's the good we are. Here's this.

00:55:08
Speaker 5: Hey, we are dumb. We are dumb, but we're smart enough to see that product. And Jeremy Glump said, maybe a collab.

00:55:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I have this room.

00:55:24
Speaker 5: Jordan Minkoff on Spotify This is New Dad's Boys been listening to for the dads since my wife and I found out she was pregnant with our.

00:55:35
Speaker 1: Baby boy last July. Oh, let's go.

00:55:39
Speaker 5: Jordan's listening to the new episode in the hospital as we just welcome in our little guy yesterday and have officially joined PT.

00:55:47
Speaker 1: Six.

00:55:48
Speaker 5: I also have an elite dad hack from our stay I ordered.

00:55:53
Speaker 1: I ordered a product called the dad Pad. I really did not mean to do that.

00:55:58
Speaker 5: I only read the first portion of you in super I swear to God, I only read your transition that was that's unreal, great transition like we like we said natural.

00:56:06
Speaker 1: We're idiots, so we're still before fall. For me, that's fear luck.

00:56:12
Speaker 5: The Dad Bad, which is a sleeping bad, got to fit hospital couches two nights in and my new dad back is feeling good, excited to take everything I've learned from this pod into dad life.

00:56:25
Speaker 1: Let's go, Jordan.

00:56:26
Speaker 2: Jordan, congratulations. Rue is turning four next month and I said it on the recent episodes. I'm gonna say it every week until she turns four, and I'm say it.

00:56:36
Speaker 1: It makes me sad do it. But here's what I want to tell Jordan. The new Dad's Lyle or Lyle's enjoy every moment. Yeah, dude, it's going to be hard, it's going.

00:56:51
Speaker 2: To suck a lot, yep, but it is the greatest responsibility you can ever have in your life. And enjoy every moment. And I'll break more of this down when Rude does turn four, because I just I like to reflect on I like to reflect on all that stuff.

00:57:07
Speaker 1: Yeah, but they're here for us in this early phase, man, They're here for us to enjoy, to lay a foundation to five through eight, then nine through fifteen, and so on and so on.

00:57:22
Speaker 2: And there's a new iteration. We read that little lesson last week, there's a new iteration of your child when it's that young every day. Then it's week to week. It's a new kid a month to month. Don't think of it in terms of years, especially before in those first two years. Man, every month there's a different version of your kid. Every month. You have four weekends. Four weekends to make the most of in the first two years, two summers, two falls, two winters, two of each holiday. Dude, enjoy everything that you can as much as you can.

00:58:01
Speaker 1: Man. Take a lot of photos and videos, yes, because time flies. Lyles styles a little spoiler for any non parents out there. Spoiler spoiler at the.

00:58:12
Speaker 5: Eight month mark, dude, I went back and looked at like first week videos and all that stuff, and I cried, you're just gonna get your lyles.

00:58:19
Speaker 1: You're gonna do it. You're gonna cry.

00:58:20
Speaker 2: Scotty when she didn't have hair for those photos pop up on her little digital frame. Always a great gift to have a great product to have around the house. It's one of those digital frames that kind of runs through your album and you just look at it and I just see little Scotty Joe. She's sixteen months. She still our little She's still our little baby. She's our youngest baby right now. And you just see those old photos, bro, and it's just it's such a reminder that everything is so fleeting. Yeah, Like we're having full conversations with Rue, Like her curiosity is off the charts. The thing she wants to do, she wants to operate more and more independently every.

00:58:54
Speaker 1: Day she is. She's a little girl. Yeah, she's a little girl now for sure.

00:59:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, she's getting heavier as I'm holding her, like the mortality of she's not gonna want me to hold her soon.

00:59:08
Speaker 1: I don't know when that.

00:59:09
Speaker 2: Happens, like I was gonna google it, but I'm sure parents out there probably have their own stories, and when they're maybe their last time that they remember or what age, it kind of stops happening. But I can just tell, like, as I pick her up, she's getting heavier. One day she's gonna not want me to hold her. And that day now is so much sooner than what I thought. And when I'm in the suck and you're thinking, fuck, she can't walk, I have to pick her up or she can't you know, she can't stand up, she's only crawling, or she can walk a little bit. I kind of gotta be around her all the time. Let me just pick her up here. And it feels in those moments that it's like a nuisance that you're picking them up. Those those moments are gonna happen. But just dude, enjoyed as much as you can. And like our buddy said when he called in when Taylor was on, like fuck the people that say wait until they wait, hey, just wait, just wait, dude, no be there now, and fucking love it.

00:59:59
Speaker 1: Bro.

01:00:00
Speaker 5: Can I show you a picture really quick that kind of ties into this. Yeah, I won't go into like a full fledged story. But we had our first big thunderstorm over was it Monday night or no Sunday night, Yeah, a couple of nights ago, and dude, Scarlett was scared and she was crying and it was so cute, dude. The lightning would strike, like you would see the lightning flash and then you would just hear on the monitor. Yeah, and Jill was like, go get her, go get her, or maybe she got her. I can't remember, but I took a chef I sent it to you. I took that picture in the morning of what I woke up to you, dude, and I was just.

01:00:40
Speaker 1: Like, God, I love this man, because that's the best.

01:00:44
Speaker 2: Like, even when the storm has happened, part of me the other night I was wondering if Scottie or R was gonna wake up and we'd have to get him, get him to the bed, because part of me is kind of like loves it.

01:00:54
Speaker 1: Oh the gold I'm sleeping in the bed with us because we don't do the bed a hold lot at this age. Yeah, yeah, we don't either.

01:01:00
Speaker 2: Yeah, we don't either, And just like sleeping independent, like that's the route we chose to go. Yeah, And so when we do sleepovers and everything else. Like I'm just obsessed when I got thinking when I got Ru in the bed, because they're obviously young, Like even with Scotty now we haven't done a sleepover anything with Scotty because she's still operating, Like moving around you get a little nervous obviously, the safe sleeping same yeah, yeah, but I'm always excited, Like when Ru was coming up, I'm just like, hey, when when can we start to where she's like sleeps in her bed, Like I.

01:01:29
Speaker 1: Just want to cuddle them, dude.

01:01:32
Speaker 5: The little there was one point in the night to that she had right hand hooked around mom's pinky and left hand hooked around dad's thumb, just just both of them up like this and and just passed out, dude, and the little Binkie's going, it's the cutest way possible, dude, And you just want to squish him and you want to suffocate them, you want to subthing, like yeah, the love that urges inside your body is almost like it's crazy primal where you're like I could kill you.

01:02:06
Speaker 1: I love you so badly.

01:02:07
Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, yeah, And dude, she's starting to giggle too on the neck. Kisses I don't even do neck kisses. Really, I just with my tongue just got like on her neck and just that little Oh, dude, play it on repeat. Yeah, I just need a playlist. Make sure you get some.

01:02:26
Speaker 1: Recordings of that, oh, whether it's voice recordings or video. Buddy Bud Jill's on that game. Jills on that game. God dude being the dad one, I know.

01:02:39
Speaker 5: Yeah, I as far as we kind of touched on our dad losses already, do we want to go into our favorite segment, crack a cold one?

01:02:49
Speaker 2: I do before we get off the dead losses. I do have a dead loss here, Oh from autism Miller. This is an email of a dad loss. Thank y'all so much. I finally got my PT six shirts second from the left. We do have a photo of the dad's PT six ers repping the Papa Team six shirts again BWTV dot com. I have an amazing village now that I'm the last of our group to have a little one. I have a baby boy on the way and all the way on the left. Him and his wife are having twin boys shortly after me and my wife.

01:03:22
Speaker 1: I am blessed with my PT six shirt.

01:03:24
Speaker 2: I had my paper party on March fourteenth, Oo and my friend group came through with plenty of diapers and gifts, and I'm super grateful. This podcast has been a blessing for all four of us and we were just having a great time supporting each other.

01:03:40
Speaker 1: Brothers for life.

01:03:41
Speaker 2: Tommy is a girl dad with twin boys on the way, Austin boy on the way. That's me, Darren, two girl dads, JP girl dad love you guys, keep up the great work.

01:03:50
Speaker 1: This was under the dad lost one.

01:03:52
Speaker 6: So his dad loss and dad wins. You should have said dead win. And also it should just be Austin Miller. That is a typo. I apologize, Sure, what does your say dad lost or dad win?

01:04:00
Speaker 5: Dad dad waynet covered by dad loss. I have a dad loss here to that.

01:04:04
Speaker 6: I apologize, That's okay, it is it is Austin Miller.

01:04:07
Speaker 1: That is the type.

01:04:08
Speaker 6: I want to put out an apology because well, you are Rod Burgundy.

01:04:12
Speaker 1: You read the note about Scarscar.

01:04:14
Speaker 6: After talking about the story of Scarscar, you read autism Miller instead of instead of Austin.

01:04:19
Speaker 1: I'm sorry to you, Will. I just confidently I saw it, and I'm like, hey, if that's his name, if it makes you feel any better. I truly like, but it's not like one letter. It does say autism Miller. It does. And I thought I was reading the Dad loss. We got a dad loss here? Read the Dallas. This sounds like a pretty good story. He's got the boys together, they're all having kids. That's a crack of cold one. That's a I okay, really quick note for Darren Derek. Come ahead and just hey, I'm sorry.

01:05:07
Speaker 5: I just put to put a nice piece of bread on the ship sandwich that his aunt is a Miller. Every time when I get in drop box there and I go to the voice smails every single time. In my head, I'm like, I know they're gonna be there, there's no question, and they're all gonna rip. And I just never questioned that. So I just wanted you to hear that I have that thought this morning.

01:05:33
Speaker 1: Oh I'm sorry.

01:05:35
Speaker 5: No, you rip, you rip? I have a dad lost here. Well, it's a it's an air an email.

01:05:43
Speaker 1: Willy Burgundy, Willie old Willie Burgundy. You put all the prompter read literally Wait, oh, Scotty's birthday was wrong? Okay, yeah, passed that one up. Who wrote that one? There's no name on it. I think that's just a reminder. Takes sip a lollipop.

01:06:11
Speaker 5: Fellas, for the first time in my adult life, I forgot to take out the trash. Oh, this is Aaron's first time, so first time offender.

01:06:19
Speaker 1: Let's see.

01:06:20
Speaker 5: Let's see what he says to make matters worse. It was also a recycling week. Ours only comes and picks up every other week. Bro, that's two weeks or what four weeks of recycling month?

01:06:33
Speaker 1: Miss one? Yeah, recycling is every other week.

01:06:38
Speaker 5: Yeah, he said, biggest dad fail for me in recent memory.

01:06:42
Speaker 1: But guess what he said at the end? Good? Good, So Aaron style, you fuck up good, you get the food back, and you try to get better. Yeah.

01:06:54
Speaker 5: Pt sickos, empty sickos, and goom berets alike.

01:06:58
Speaker 1: Welcome to the.

01:07:01
Speaker 5: One and Only ad read that we are going to break away from the episode to talk to you about lollipop. They send in these hats we talked about a little bit on the sode they sent in Shirley Temps. We're talking about the O G. Mocktel Shirley Temple. Okay, it's got the hiss, it's got the crack, doesn't have the punch, which is a question you should never ask yourself before you take a sip lollipop, because it's a given. It packs a punch every single sip, every single flavor. Ollipop knocked out of the park with the Shirley Temple. It's been a minute since I've had the Shirley Temple. I've been sipping on some other flavors of late, and that sip may have just brought me back. Guys, you can get a Shirley Temple. You can buy two cans of lollipop. Go drink some Ollipop and if they sell them, go get one of these hats, because I honestly love it, and Ollipop Thank you so much for sending these hats. These are really dope and they came at the perfect time because it is Saint Patrick's today and we got a little green going on back to the episode. Also, we mentioned it before and I'm wearing a hat currently right now, you are.

01:09:02
Speaker 1: I love that hat.

01:09:03
Speaker 5: Ollipop was kind enough to send our office some hatch chef ass one as well, and uh crack a cold one as always brought to us by Allipop. We got some tasty treats here, some tasty snacks, absolutely prebiotic and just listen to it, dude, And this is one of my favorites, orange cream. Willie, do you want to kick us off for Kracker cold one?

01:09:28
Speaker 2: My Cracker cold one? I was alluding to it. It was basically my rowse of the weekend send out at dinner. It was my brother coming to town. Joy bro Joy was in my heart the whole time.

01:09:38
Speaker 5: Can you can you break down? Uh, just really quick. It's Wyatt more of your personality. It's just a little different from you. What what is that? Brotherly or Chip? We're different? Why it is just so.

01:09:53
Speaker 1: Easy to hang out with? Yeah?

01:09:56
Speaker 2: Not that like my dad and Cody, aren't they are as well, but Wyat him just being the youngest, I guess, I don't know.

01:10:06
Speaker 1: I feel like he uh, he's got that air about him that interview.

01:10:09
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, like we both we always have like good conversations. I'm never nervous to ask him any question about like what's going on. I always feel like I'm trying to give him advice, but I'm also trying to keep myself from giving too much advice, you know what I mean, because I care about him and he's just easy to be around.

01:10:28
Speaker 1: I don't know.

01:10:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like everybody in my family would say that about Wyatt, like he's just he's easy to go with the flow. Yeah, he loves anything like that he's involved with and he's doing.

01:10:39
Speaker 1: He like loves what he does.

01:10:40
Speaker 2: Now that he's the head football coach of North County, I can tell he takes a lot of great pride in being the head coach of North Like he's very excited and me like, I'm like, you know, trying to get in the weeds of like what are you thinking, Like do you have a plan?

01:10:53
Speaker 1: What's the vision? Like you're still big brother.

01:10:57
Speaker 2: I'm still like big bro, and I'll feel myself when I'm being too much of big bro. And then just like watching them around my girl, like around my daughters, you know what I mean, Like operating with the family conversations that me Troy, him and Morgan will sit there late at night, like we were playing games one night where we were playing clue and code names. We're having conversations because they're both teachers. We're asking about like the school system and how it is now, like what are the kids like all the drama that goes on in their world in school and teaching. Just easy to be around man. And again I don't see them often. Yeah, Like it always feels like I'm We're all connected because I know White, like White watches this show.

01:11:40
Speaker 1: Shout out White, who is listening to this show right now? Come on, Wyatt?

01:11:43
Speaker 2: And he's even said like this has become like his favorite show to listen to in the Busting Verse, and even all of the other pods that he listens to, he loves watching this one or listening to this one.

01:11:52
Speaker 1: Can I speak to Wyatt really quickly, speak to him? Whytt I do want to apologize?

01:11:57
Speaker 5: When Jill and I put Scarlett down for her morning nap, we also we call it rerack, like you put yourself back in the oven. We got back in bed and took a morning nap as well. And I missed Will's invite to join y'all at the farmer's market.

01:12:14
Speaker 2: I think yours was the Santos breakfast. Bro, I just know what I'm going over in that neck of the woods. I'm just thinking like.

01:12:20
Speaker 1: He would have been there though, right, Yeah, yeah, yeah he was. I apologize.

01:12:23
Speaker 5: I very much would have loved to meet you and give him hell this first season.

01:12:29
Speaker 1: Why it's a stud, bro, He's going to good soul. Just love him.

01:12:34
Speaker 5: Yeah, the more confidence I meet, the better. Yeah, and like your childhood friends and stuff like Nick Rips Rips.

01:12:42
Speaker 1: You know Nick's listening right now. He's a sick go he is.

01:12:47
Speaker 2: But yeah, because I shot him all a message, my dad and my brother's in a group check. Because I want to get him out to the house. I want to get him out to see the new spot. We haven't seen each other, Like we didn't do Christmas, because if you've listened to this show throughout since the incubation of it, yep, we had to cancel Christmas with him because everybody basically got the flu mega sick. Yeah, Mega six. So we did Christmas presents. But it was fun to see him because I just I feel like I don't get to see him often.

01:13:12
Speaker 1: And what I was saying is.

01:13:13
Speaker 2: It feels like we're all tied to each other all the time because they might consume they consume what I do on social media. They consume the podcast and everything else. But as far as like getting on the phone, checking in, having like deeper conversations.

01:13:25
Speaker 1: We don't get to do that often.

01:13:27
Speaker 2: And knowing how fragile life is and knowing how quick time moves. It's just like when he's there, the perspective I'm starting to have watching him engage with the family and be at the house and all of that is like it's like a special moment.

01:13:44
Speaker 5: Yeah, dude, and you're building a family. Yeah, he is the uncle to your kids. Yeah, and he operates like a great uncle. Like when he's he's going around the flower farm with Rue, is him Morgan and Ru going around the flower farm And I'm kind of watching him stapping photos and everything else. But I'm with Mom and Scottie because we had our own bucket and just seeing whyatt help her and teach her how to use the like the cutters, like the scissors to cut the stems at the bottom, and then at the end, Rue's operating all of it.

01:14:11
Speaker 2: She's cutting all the stems. It's just a wide mixture range of flowers in this bucket. And why he's like a craftsman, Like he can build things. He can do a lot of stuff working on the house. He can do a lot of that stuff. And in my brain I start thinking, I didn't tell why at this, but I'm like, wouldn't it be cool if every year there's a like almost an annual thing that happens to where he helps Rue build something that like Whyett brainstorms off thinks up. Yeah, like the way my grandpa would do with us, like when he's building us a dog house or that rifle that was a wooden rifle or something something new to tinker with to where we're out in the garage around him. I'm envisioning, like why it would be that uncle to where Rude know's and why it comes like they're going to do something in the crafts world.

01:14:51
Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm very close with my mom's sister, my aunt Arden or Auntie Arlieu.

01:14:58
Speaker 1: Yeah, and yeah, dude.

01:15:00
Speaker 5: Every single year Thanksgiving is always with Auntie Arlou every single year, and that, yeah, it just cemented that relationship.

01:15:11
Speaker 1: And she calls us her fuse for her nephews.

01:15:15
Speaker 5: Yeah, and she always secretly tells Jordan and myself but behind each other's back, that were her favorite fee of course, of course.

01:15:24
Speaker 1: But dude, I love that, and I love the dynamic of the siblings.

01:15:28
Speaker 5: And like Ruth's probably looking at Wyatt and going, he kind of looks like my dad. Yeah, he kind of acts like my dad, Like I really like this guy. And Scarlet when she was much younger, when Jordan and my dad came out to see us, and I don't know how many weeks old she was, but she was young. She would really only kind of react to Jilla and I's faces, and then Jordan because he had a beard and a hat on when he held her at that pumpkin patch that we love was like tree farms. Yeah, shout out, no, free shout out. Gave the biggest smile to my brother, and she probably totally thought, oh, i'm a that's dad.

01:16:08
Speaker 1: Uh yeah, yeah, were there something familiar or something this safe? Yeah this feels safe. Dude.

01:16:14
Speaker 2: It's so funny because Rue was when we were down in the living room one of the days, she was on the us looking similar, and I'm like, yeah, that's my brother, that's my brother, Wyatt. So you're trying to break down your little toddler because you know, as parents when you remember it now when you're coming up, but when they're getting on you about something, they're like, I was your age once, but you can never just picture because they are your parents.

01:16:37
Speaker 1: Yes, so you never put.

01:16:38
Speaker 2: Them in the world like, okay, I doubt you. You're going through what I went through. Yeah, And so I'm trying to break.

01:16:44
Speaker 1: Down the room.

01:16:45
Speaker 2: I'm like Wyatt and dad, Dad, like we were brothers, Like we were small, just like you. So when you when you were gonna be six, that's when Whyatt was born. So like the way you and Scotti are are sisters, Like Whyatt was my baby brother, the same way that Scotty's your baby sister. And we were little just like you guys growing up and everything else. So him being my brother, that is why he is your uncle Wyatt.

01:17:07
Speaker 1: Yeah. And she'll be like can you hey, daddd, let me tell you something. I'm like, okay, tell me and she's like can you can you look at way and say.

01:17:16
Speaker 2: Hi, brother Wyatt, and I'm like sure, I'm like hi, brother Wyatt. And he's like hello, Hello, and I look at room and I'm like.

01:17:27
Speaker 1: Did that do it? Yeah? I did that? Far you up.

01:17:30
Speaker 7: She's like yeah, Will on the On the Man the Pod yesterday when you were talking about him taking the head football coaching job. Yeah, and you were kind of giving your whole speech and telling him like you got to get into it. And Taylor asks you and goes, what was his response, and you said he just went.

01:17:47
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I hope we win. Yeah, it'd be awesome.

01:17:50
Speaker 7: That made me laugh so hard, and that was one of the most relatable. I just immediately went, yeah, if I was same combo with my brother, exact same what exactly?

01:17:59
Speaker 1: Wait, yeah, and I hope. So I'm like, are you excited? Yeah?

01:18:03
Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, it's like that dynamic is there no matter what, Like he's not gonna show like he's it's like he's gonna walk through all of his cards, Like there's just the brother dynamic that's happening in real time.

01:18:14
Speaker 1: So yeah, it'd be awesome. I'm like, yeah, are you pumped? You like, are you excited? Yeah? Yeah, I just.

01:18:21
Speaker 5: Know what a coach will is even this morning with chef of you being like chef, hey, pick pick Jared's brain. You can you can learn a lot from from Jared. And there was a moment that I thought, laughing super hard when you asked me because you have these like coachesms that literally remind me of my middle school and.

01:18:44
Speaker 1: High school coaches.

01:18:47
Speaker 5: When I was at your house and you broke something down for me that was like lengthy. It wasn't like a monologue, but it was lengthy. And at the end of it, you looked at me and you were cutting tangerines for Scotty and you go, so tell me what you heard. And I said, like summarize it or verbatim, and you go, just what you heard? Go okay.

01:19:14
Speaker 1: In my head, I'm like, dude, I am in my eighth grade locker room right now, and Coach Scott's like going over for them because when you give them something what you need, if you're whether you're teaching somebody or anything else, you want them to be able to regurgitate it back to you because you want to know too. Am I being clear? Like I could be like I can.

01:19:34
Speaker 2: Be long win, but I can go all over the mat, which I know I'll be as a parent, But it's like, you want them to recite it back to you.

01:19:41
Speaker 1: Number one.

01:19:42
Speaker 2: You want to know if they're listening to paying attention, but also trying to get feedback on Did I explain that clearly in the.

01:19:47
Speaker 5: Future, Should I give this advice to Sherman is even receptive to this when I get advised in Yeah, no, I there was no like I loved it.

01:19:56
Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that world of I just.

01:19:59
Speaker 5: Envision head coach Wyatt now it is that yeah to a lot of kids.

01:20:04
Speaker 1: And now older brother Will It just makes me giggle.

01:20:10
Speaker 2: Because he'll tell me how he's got great trust. He's because he's a younger coach. Yeah, he's got great relationships with guys. And I'm sitting there and I'm not and I'm thinking in my head, you don't want that to be a point to where they can take advantage because you're so close with them. And I'm my response to friends, and I'm yeah, yeah, I don't like. You gotta be hard on them. Yeah, I'm telling you right now, you gotta be tough on them. It's good that you have trust and great relationships with your team and they love you, probably because you're fun and all these things, but you gotta be fucking you gotta be able to crack the whip.

01:20:42
Speaker 1: Why I want them showing the little guty snapchats at this ending to each other with the TikTok dancersre you shouldn't be laughing with them if they're showing you something on their phone, unless it's an unappropriate time and place. They talk about Dojah Cat, you ask who's that? I don't care if you even know who Thoja Cat you said, who the hell is that?

01:21:00
Speaker 2: You just think of all the coaches and the mentors and leaders who have been hard on you in the past, and you look back now, like Bo Polini comes in my mind. Yeah, and you look back now, or my dad, you look back now and you appreciate them being hard on you. You feel like some things could have been explained in a better way to where you get on the same page. Like Bo made a comment when we were on Busting, He's like, I knew I could be hard on you because you'd be receptive and you would help me. If I'm hard on you, then it's shown that I can be hard on the others. And I'm thinking man, if I would have known that, if you would have told me kind of like, hey, I'm gonna fucking rip your ass. But here's how we're kind of solving both things. Number One, I think you're very receptive to it. You respond well, and it helps me get on others ass. That is seeing if you're an example.

01:21:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, and I'm thinking, dude, I like lived in my head like, yeah, I might have been receptive, like I'm always like I want to please, I want to make you guys, like I want to be as good as I can. And when you're ripping into my ass some like in my head like there'd be nice ll, I'm thinking I'm failing you. But if I knew that you're also trying to solve another problem with the team at large, then I would have known. We would have been on a much different wavelength.

01:22:16
Speaker 2: But I still look back on all that stuff and I'm like, Okay, you just appreciate those people who were hard on you, that could see farther down the road that you could see, because we're very short sighted as younger kids, younger athletes, whatever it is, to where you now have perspective being older, And I just think the same thing like with Wyatt, like I was staying it on bust and I'm like, you are growing men like they're in high school, but you want them to feel that you were hard on them. And then one day they respect you enough because you were hard on them, because they're going to go out into the world and they might see a loosey goosey structure of everything else and then they think that, oh, this is why my coach was like this on me.

01:22:54
Speaker 1: Back in the day. Coach Comptent would be pissed if he saw this operation like this, and you're thinking, these guys don't get it. Yeah, they don't get it. Coach Compton be chewing their ass.

01:23:04
Speaker 5: Yeah, and it does make the out of boys that much better when you do have that kid. Yeah, that never not never gives out of boys. But you know, in eighth grade we had that like drill Sergeant Coach Alito is like a hardcore program. And I mean that dude was a snake And I only got one helmet hit.

01:23:26
Speaker 1: After a touchdown. That was it.

01:23:29
Speaker 5: But that meant Dude, when he hit the side of my helmet as I was coming to the sideline, Yeah, I was like yeah.

01:23:36
Speaker 1: Like he liked Yeah, it's like parenthood as well.

01:23:39
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you want to be on a level with him where they trust you enough that they can talk to you about anything. But there's also that dynamic of the you're not their friend. Yeah, there's also the dynamic of respect that it's a respect, it's maybe like a healthy fear, but that respect of I trust the direction he's going to guide me, yeah, versus like I'm scared to approach him because he is so hard.

01:24:02
Speaker 5: On Yes, dude, finding the balance of hey, I don't want to do the wrong thing because I know that he wants the best for me and wants the right thing, not because I like, oh here comes the assche and yeah, that's what I've been trying to avoid for the last couple of months.

01:24:20
Speaker 2: Yeah, that would be a fear I would have with my dad at times growing up, because he was very hard on us. He was like a tough love. Like now, our relationship is incredible because we look back and I do feel so comfortable talking to him about a lot of these things, yeah, or a lot of like shortcomings we can call them. But our relationship now is much different from when I was growing up because he was more like a not like Dan Gables this way, but he was like a he.

01:24:49
Speaker 1: Was hard on us, Yes, sick of mindset. Yeah, like don't don't.

01:24:53
Speaker 2: Be tiptoe around the house, or don't don't be heavy foot around the house. You're not on your toes, You're not being that's not like you know, fast or whatever. Yeah, it seems like you're lazy. We had type of it would be kind of like it'd be like Friday night lights. Yes, you drop the lamp. Yeah, can't hold on a lamp, can't hold on the football. At times, this wasn't all the time. I didn't abuse the shit.

01:25:15
Speaker 1: That's a great scene by the way.

01:25:17
Speaker 5: Yeah, we also just did another idiot segue, a perfect idiot segue, because my crack a cold one is being a coach at.

01:25:25
Speaker 1: The First Tea Fall forward, man.

01:25:29
Speaker 5: I know which Actually this is a great conversation as far as my crack a cold one. This week, I'm volunteering at First Tea, which is a nonprofit golf thing. You basically give free golf lessons to kids in a in and around a community.

01:25:47
Speaker 1: So I'm doing it here in Nashville.

01:25:49
Speaker 5: I just wanted something to get my mind off of work, get my mind off of the house, a little something for me. But that's also kind of giving back and I'm.

01:25:58
Speaker 1: Very excited for it.

01:26:00
Speaker 5: But I have like the ten to twelve year olds, So these kids are actual, like they can golf and they're like little dudes.

01:26:07
Speaker 1: You know what I mean. And you're going in to just like volunteer. Yeah, volunteering as like a coach. But I'm so excited.

01:26:14
Speaker 5: I don't have like, dude, I'm like a twenty two to twenty four handicap.

01:26:18
Speaker 1: Like I'm not some stud golfer.

01:26:20
Speaker 5: There's some little things I could, little nuggets here and there, but I am excited to see where that like mentor ship or you know whatever, because that's part of the program too, is they have all these pillars of like life lessons the kids are being taught as well.

01:26:37
Speaker 1: I you know, I love that. Yeah, and I'm excited for it.

01:26:42
Speaker 5: But it's a good reminder too of like you can't be too you know, too much of friends with them from the standpoint, but also being able to be this guide and this friendly like you know whatever in their life.

01:26:55
Speaker 1: It'll be fun. Dude. I haven't done something like this in a long time, so I'm I'm actually like really excited.

01:27:00
Speaker 2: I think you're gonna get a lot of value out of it. Yeah, dude, there's this cool philosophy on no matter what stage you're in, like having a mentor somebody that is like you know, third party, they're disconnected from your day to day operating.

01:27:15
Speaker 1: Inside of your circle. Yes, but you have a mentor that you lean on. Yep.

01:27:18
Speaker 2: You have somebody that you're doing it with. So it would be in our case anybody at work that you were say, say you have a workout buddyut accountabil a buddy. Yeah, somebody that you're doing things with. And also somebody that you are you are mentoring or giving back to that is a quote unquote below you.

01:27:34
Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, to like.

01:27:35
Speaker 2: Kind of feed your soul like those are like that was like a like a philosophy. I was reading it about and like uh at Nebraska and then I saw Rex Burkhead as like my equals somebody that I looked up to, but that you almost don't know that you're looking up to. So and so, like if I'm looking up to you or looking up to Derek or looking up to Chef, like you guys don't know that I'm getting stuff that you got are adding value to my life and we're kind of doing this thing together.

01:28:03
Speaker 1: Yeah, then I can have a guy.

01:28:04
Speaker 2: Who I'll like lean on for any you know, you have like different mentors, whether it's parenthood, business, work, relationships, spiritual, financial anything, right, yes, yes, and then you have the one where you're giving back. So I love, dude. I love that you're doing that.

01:28:21
Speaker 5: I've desperately needed it and it'll be a lot of fun and just to get to be outside, dude.

01:28:26
Speaker 1: Golf such a fun sport. I just love the game of golf.

01:28:30
Speaker 5: I'd love if there's any sport where you can get away with it, it's golf of cheating.

01:28:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, and like just the we were talking about that at the zoo. Oh really remember we were walking in talking about golf.

01:28:45
Speaker 2: But like committing to golf and then you and your boys go and do aight and holes, but it takes out, it carves out, like all these hours on a weekday.

01:28:53
Speaker 1: Or weekend, six hours honey. Yeah, so we know you got kids. Yeah, yeah, yeah, how is golf on it good?

01:29:00
Speaker 2: You're getting drunk with the boys of the golf course. You're going for like how long would do eighteen holes.

01:29:05
Speaker 1: Last four, five, six, Yeah, I mean yeah, really he can last that long? Like that is crazy. If it's a packed day.

01:29:12
Speaker 5: And everybody's in foursomes, yeah, it could be that long. It's it's nuts, but uh yeah, to get to like teach those kids accountability and like why you don't tell your friend that you got a birdie when you part it, you know, and like what that what that deeper meaning is, and how that's applied to life of like doing the right thing when nobody's looking. And so I just think golf has Every sport has lessons in it, but golf has some particularly fun ones with like what are you doing when nobody's watching you?

01:29:44
Speaker 8: Yeah?

01:29:44
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and uh kind of any solo sport like tennis track kind of that self accountability, self coaching, self talk, self speak of hey, don't lose your cool because you missed a putt. You know, guess what, Look up, there's a tea box right there. There's another hole where you can go make that putt next time. We learned our mistake here, let's go apply to this next one. We're moving we're moving on, we're failing forward. We're gonna grow from this.

01:30:16
Speaker 2: I love that dynamic too, because then in time, you you're gonna you're gonna build trust with these kids that you're messing with it to where you'll start getting to connect with the money. But like, hey, what's going on, Like.

01:30:27
Speaker 1: What's going on you? Oh, dude, for sure, what's going on in your life? For sure? Look like little moments of opportunities like that seem cool and.

01:30:36
Speaker 5: It it means way more now because Scarlett is so young, and I know that like these times are quote unquote easier to be a dad in those ways, and I really want to hone in those skills of the preteen like and so I'm really excited for that because I know that that's like an age where some of that can be difficult, there can be some disconnect in the preteen ages and the teenager ages. And like, I'm just excited for those reps. It feels like practice reps for my own daughter of communication, et cetera. I like that, man, It'll be fine, love that for you.

01:31:22
Speaker 1: We've just been riffing.

01:31:24
Speaker 5: We've been riffing, and how are we on time? Should we jump into some Yeah? Yeah, okay, we're not too bad.

01:31:34
Speaker 2: I am staring at a pt Oh yeah, Yeah, we have pt fit updates. We have pt fit updates Lily cut Cuddy Lily Cutty on Spotify. I'm thinking we do a fundraiser for pt fit where Charlie leaves a bar three class in Nashville. Question Mark, question Mark. Oh, that's a phenomenal idea. I did some bar three last Friday. Charros ten am class. Yeah, over off of the one, the one in Paddock of a white Bridge. Yeah, teaches a ten am class on Fridays that I might start frequenting more. I do feel like my body responds really well to it, to where I'm like feeling good. Yeah, because you know, I've had a lot of low back issues, just a lot of wear and tear from playing football.

01:32:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's okay ten minute, I would tell you, Charles hearing this for the first time, but kind of nice. It's a kind of nice vibe because I'm taking many a water breaks like these women. There's a there's a there's a guy that walked in and she was like thirty something weeks pregnant and she's you know, there's always these modifications for all the movements that you're doing.

01:32:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, but she's in there ripping and so young, old doesn't matter. All body types like they're in there and they're dominating. Yeah, And I'm like, my legs, bro, you'll get up on like your toes and some movies where you're doing like these wall shits and you pick up your toes. You're doing these pulsing squads and you're trying to hold these fucking poses and I'm shaking. One of my dad's favorite lines, I'm shaking like a dog shitting peach seeds, and you like, I'm taking many of breaks right, So in my head, I'm like, I tell you. She was like, hey, how do you feel from the class?

01:33:11
Speaker 1: Like?

01:33:11
Speaker 2: I feel like it was a phenomenal like rehab, a very intense rehab session for myself because my body feels great. I feel like my body respondable real well like glose Er, everything's activated core, Like I don't feel my low back pain that much. So I'm like, man, I need to kind of put I need to frequent. I need to have this in my toolbox because it does make me feel really good. But I also feel like I failed because I had to take so many breaks.

01:33:33
Speaker 1: You didn't fail, you did great.

01:33:36
Speaker 2: And the environment vibe is like you're around a bunch of dudes and you fail a lot.

01:33:42
Speaker 1: You're getting poured on. Yeah, yeah, you.

01:33:45
Speaker 2: Did kind of push out you did this? Did they'd pat me on the ass. You're doing a great job.

01:33:50
Speaker 1: I don't feel like I stepped away.

01:33:53
Speaker 2: Yeah no, you crushed it, and you're just like, oh, I can be around this.

01:33:57
Speaker 5: I would hate to turn one of her classes into a circus, but I think that that would be a really fun vlog opportunity us.

01:34:05
Speaker 2: Just going and doing the Bar three classes that too, That's what I'm saying. And maybe the Milk Team sixers that out there that might be familiar with Bar three, are they taking a Bar three class? Like what an opportunity to do, like a for the Dad's collab or it's.

01:34:18
Speaker 1: You're bringing in your husband because we're gonna do it.

01:34:21
Speaker 5: Yeah, and do you give a shout out? No, free shout out because it's from an unbiased third party. One of Jill's very good friends, Grace here in Nashville, takes uh one of charros led Bar three classes and raves about it.

01:34:39
Speaker 1: Dude, she loves it. They they vibe with char that's your white shout out at rubber band, Like, yeah, she just does hey, come on, man, come hey, man, you talk about my wife. Yes, she kind of got it.

01:34:53
Speaker 2: I popped one of the balls. No, I was like hitting the wall sitter. I was leaning on and all of a sudden the air is.

01:35:01
Speaker 1: Coming out, and I look back and I kind of like put it down and I just grab another ball. Charles just at the front of the glass. Okay, this happens, right. I don't see anybody else's ball popped like they're good.

01:35:13
Speaker 11: Yeah.

01:35:13
Speaker 1: Yeah, Margaret's ball popped too. I just want to put that out there, Margaret, I saw that sneak the ball behind an old lady.

01:35:21
Speaker 10: Hey, what she just popped the ball. Hey, Betty's ball just popped.

01:35:31
Speaker 1: Although it was.

01:35:32
Speaker 10: All that.

01:35:34
Speaker 1: Put it on. Put it behind the pregnant lady. He put it behind the pregnant lady. Jesus, I think I think of water broke. Oh, whoa, whoa. I'm I'm not trying to make a big deal about this. We're anty in my water bottle arounder his spot, and we got to get her out of here.

01:35:52
Speaker 5: Hey, this is such a wild note. By the way, a fun empty six fact. The latest natural birth in the United States was a fifty year old fifty eight year old woman.

01:36:04
Speaker 1: She did a pilates class of the day she delivered some of them there them women, Bro.

01:36:09
Speaker 2: Sick goes out there, Dude, keep the fitness and exercise going all the way up.

01:36:13
Speaker 1: Until some sick goes out there. Some Dan gablesit, guy.

01:36:17
Speaker 5: Yes, I have vents on Spotify. This is pet Fit Boys. Seventy five hard is perfect for dads. It will change you both physically and mentally. I've become such a better dad since I've started the program. I structure my day around not missing time with the kids and wife. I quickly realized that there was so much waste of time in a day. Would love to be a part of a seventy five hard pt fit group, which PET seventy.

01:36:46
Speaker 2: Five hard Hard. I'm not against it. No, no, no, that's true. Discipline that is seventy five hard is true. It's almost like I look where I'm at now, because again, the whole game is structuring right. Like I was writing, I was writing down some of my updates to share talk about my pet fit journey so far, and a lot of this urgency has come up. Number One, I was very disappointed myself over the last several months It's kind of my worst stretch post career of football, of not being in the weight room, not exercising, eating okay, but not like holiday season destroys me. I'm very much I indulge in holiday season and you go and get blood work. I go to this like health three Health three point oh spot called Paradigm awesome spot, basically like a concierge service of everything. Think of it as like you have somebody who's going through a true financial advisor who goes through everything, walks with you everything else. They do this like for your body through blood work Texas scans your body movement. They tag an age to it, like how are you moving everything? Stuff that's going on old MRIs take everything all encompassing and work with you because they think longevity. They think fifty years down the road, not us wanting to get jacked.

01:38:07
Speaker 1: In twenty twenty.

01:38:08
Speaker 2: Six, yep, and my blood work in June or July, I think it was June. And then my blood work at the end of the year or seven months later, my blood work has gotten worse. My DEXA scan has gotten worse, which I knew was going to happen. I joke about and you know, talk about the body fat. It was like twenty seven percent the visceral grams of fat. How much Charro was buying into it and got so much better, Like Charles almost like in a superior range of working with the group and like diving into her fitness and everything.

01:38:39
Speaker 5: Her numbers sounded like Olympic athlete type number.

01:38:44
Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean crazy.

01:38:46
Speaker 2: So just my wife and seeing her feedback and everything else, it's almost just like a I am sick and tired of being sick and tired about it, and it's almost like a not like a wake up call. I'm not in like an emergency situation. But my cholesterol has been high, it's even higher. My vitamin levels are not that good. My blood pressure has been high every time I've went in. Some things could be stress inducing, some things could be genetic. You kind of look at the entire picture of the entire scope, and my man's been We've been working with each other almost weekly now because he's like, dude, just start right now until your sore. Next weight room gets put in the garage. Because some of it was the excuse, this is an excuse coming out of my mouth. More I'm going to say some of it was moving. I was moving garages and set up. So it's just an excuse that I'm giving myself because there's a fucking weight room that we have on our shop. But it truly is structuring. It's like we've joked about our late goon nights and everything else, but staying up late does hurt if you're wanting to be somebody who dominates your morning, because our mornings is waking up. Being up at seven from seven to eight fifteen is all kid related or seven thirty to eight thirties all kid related. Before we get rue out of the house to school car line, I'm making our lunch, I'm making breakfast, trial getting ready. But we have like I have been waking up earlier. In between the six and six thirty mark, I've been doing So two. He's like, just start Zone two, get on your assault bike. You have you have your garment Zone two five sessions of thirty minutes. You need to get one hundred and fifty minutes of Zone two cardio. So things I've been doing is the Zone two cardio, the atge or knees over TOAs guy. I love their Instagram. I've bought into their program. I've had their program for years, but they have They have workout structures for people who want to be shredded, for people, this all the way down to old people. They have body weight stuff everything. Yeah, but I hit that stuff. Sauna and cold water. I do twelve minutes of cold water every week, four days of three minutes each, sauna eighty minutes, four sessions of twenty minutes each. I'm giving this information to anybody that anyone listen that wants any direction and more of like I want to say it out louds because it gives me like an accountability factor. I've hat seal for Sell in my ear because seventy five hard comes from first form eighty for Sell, the Forcella Brothers y. Yeah, and he challenged me to do like a half marathon. I haven't responded to him on April eleventh because I'm like, you ain't getting my ass out there running that far that quickly. All that stuff. The seventy five hard is awesome. This say they have a seventy five soft. They have all of these different regiments, but I am from what our boy's saying, that's seventy five hard rips. We should do a seventy five hard pet fit. I am on board with that, but part of it myself is stacking some of these small wins to build momentum. Because I do. It's like my goals for the end of the year. I'm writing them down. I want to get under a bar. I haven't been under a bar because of my low back in years. This states back to like twenty twenty or twenty twenty one, while I was still playing football because I was having back issues.

01:41:43
Speaker 1: And that's for upper and lower body workouts like squat And when.

01:41:48
Speaker 2: I'm talking about getting under a bar, I'm talking about back squatting. I have a back squatted in years. I would love to because it like loads your spine and everything else. But there are healthy there are progressions to where I can have a healthy enough back to load my back again.

01:42:03
Speaker 1: I would love to do that. That is a goal for myself.

01:42:06
Speaker 2: I'm somebody who again within my first couple hours of waking up, fifty grams of protein, and my breakfast thirty grams of protein at every meal, a massive glass of water when I wake up, with lemon and salt to get electrolytes.

01:42:18
Speaker 1: All of that fun stuff you can look up all this stuff.

01:42:21
Speaker 2: This is like my own walk, my own journey communicating to PT six PT fit. As we're going on this, a part of me does one is like flip the switch when the sore next gym gets put in.

01:42:31
Speaker 1: I do want to flip the switch.

01:42:33
Speaker 2: I would love to fucking challenge myself to a seventy five hard because that shit does seem awesome and seems very very good for you. Because a lot of the rules, I think we went over them last week. But it's like a five step, five boxes checked in the day where you're getting a couple of workouts in one of them's outdoors, you're getting a gallon of water, You're reading ten minutes of a personal development book I would love in the PT fit universe. Maybe it's a book in the personal development phase, but also more Taylor to Parenthood, a parenting book. What else I aim for my body weight in grams of protein, but blood work, decks of scans. I have bar three last Friday, shouting out Bar three and giving my wife's love because I did enjoy doing the class. I do think the bar three for the dad's clap would be fun. But I'm very much invested in this pet fit idea. And I do feel like step one is being vulnerable talking about my shortcomings where I'm at.

01:43:31
Speaker 1: I need to.

01:43:31
Speaker 2: Fucking take a photo myself, because it's like I'll look in the mirror and I'm like, dude.

01:43:35
Speaker 1: You were I'll look at old photos.

01:43:38
Speaker 5: My man, you were looking at that one the other day with George at Taylor's wedding.

01:43:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, and he was talking.

01:43:44
Speaker 2: About my neck and like, well used to look. I'm like, I know, and I'm laughing. But it's also like, dude, we give ourselves. I'll speak for myself. I give myself the reasoning of I'm thirty six, I'm still young.

01:43:55
Speaker 1: I have time.

01:43:56
Speaker 2: You got a lot going on, Yeah, you have family dynamic, you have work, you have a lot of moving parts, and so I give myself those outs, right, Or I'll stay up late and play video games, like it's my time to be social, it's my time to have fun. I'm gonna say up a little later because I can sleep till seven instead of like, Bro, Willie Boy, you know, man, you want to get up earlier. You have to nix this off the fucking docket. Or if you do want to play video games, bro structure it out from like eight thirty to ten. Yeah, if you're dying to play video games or you're dying to watch TV shows. Yeah, these are like the conversations I'm having with myself. All to say, beat fit, I'm fucking on board. I don't even know what I'm trying to say. I'm more just you're in word vomiting. I am feeling inspired.

01:44:48
Speaker 5: Jill and I also inspired with the ptfit movement just from I don't want to speak too much on Jill's stuff.

01:44:59
Speaker 1: I feel like I could share it with Jill stuff.

01:45:01
Speaker 5: She's basically wanting to get fit to try and avoid some of those just stational diabetes, some of the high blood pressure stuff with our next pregnancy. So she has a weight goal that I basically matched thirty pounds by the end of this year as just our goal of what we're going to work towards for kid number two, if we are to try and move towards kid number two. She wants to get into a healthy arrange. I obviously want to get into a healthy arrange because you know, we joked about me being at the doctor or we both went to the doctor and they took our blood pressure. Yeah, more than twice yep, and you're sitting there like, oh, it might be the wrong coff and my different coughs this and that. Yeah, and do you have coffee this morning? Did not have coffee this morning?

01:45:57
Speaker 1: Oh?

01:45:58
Speaker 5: And like seeing her face to the answer of no, I didn't have any caffeine but yeah, and having the goal of running a four hundred meter in under sixty seconds, A lot needs to happen for that, A regiment needs to happen for that. So I haven't implemented anything like you're talking about, but I'm excited for it.

01:46:23
Speaker 1: Yeah.

01:46:24
Speaker 2: There's like because now my wife is on me about stuff and she's been an awesome like accountability like we were. We got up this morning and went through like a flow session that bar three offers online, like yoga, stretching out against getting some mobility and the joints and everything else.

01:46:39
Speaker 1: And it's awesome.

01:46:41
Speaker 2: But it's like my dog hit me up like on a Sunday night, or maybe it was wait, what's what's the day?

01:46:48
Speaker 1: Tuesday? Tuesday?

01:46:49
Speaker 2: So Sunday night, hit me up at like eight thirty pm in an email. It's like, Hey, going through your blood work that I most recently took. Nothing is an emergency, but would love to get on the phone this weekend. I keep through some things because you're cholesterol over things involving your cholesterol and your vitamin levels, and so I tell that to charro hers go up because it's like, you know, you think about the kids, you think about the family, like, hey, there's nothing that is pressing, but you can just tell by the tone and the intention and him following up and everything else, because I've worked with him now for I'll be coming up on a year here in a few months, but you want to start sacking some progress after seven months. You don't want to see the meter go the other way, which I knew was going to happen.

01:47:36
Speaker 1: And I was telling him.

01:47:37
Speaker 2: I was being frank with him because he's like, tell me, like, what's on your mind? And I word vomited in a lot of stuff and kind of recapped our year, our season, all the things we did, all the things with family, all that kind of stuff, and him just wanting to kind of walk with me more on. He's like, how do we get some structure in place to where some of the things maybe you might be working, but you can accomplish some of these things at work. Yeah, and I ultimately tell him I'm like, part of me coming in is almost ashamed of coming in because you feel like you disappoint the you disappoint the authority. The authority in my brain is you. I feel like a lot of that has to do with being in a performance based world with football and everything else, because you never want to let your coach down, You never want to let your family down, you never want to let yourself done.

01:48:32
Speaker 1: And when I know I'm doing that, part.

01:48:35
Speaker 2: Of me punts the meetings and calling back and text because I know I'm not putting in the work that I'm proud of. So if that's happening with me, it's not anything against them. It's like I'm just being vulnerable and just saying, like part of me gets ashamed to come in and talk about all this stuff.

01:48:54
Speaker 5: Yeah, you have a humongous external force of being an ex NFL football player on yours, whereas like somebody sees a picture of me and they're not gonna be like, oh, Sherman kind of let himself go, if that makes sense. Yeah, Like because I wasn't that like level of peak athleticism, So like that external pressure isn't there as much for me, but the internal pressure is very much there for me of like, yeah, even as it means to happen. Yeah, and I get.

01:49:29
Speaker 2: That that stuff can be quote unquote real, but some of the external stuff that we're talking about is truly just assumptive.

01:49:37
Speaker 1: It's just what we're telling ourselves.

01:49:40
Speaker 7: A quote I just saw online that I really love dealing with that kind of stuff is being healthy and getting in shape is not an obstacle.

01:49:49
Speaker 1: It's actually the solution.

01:49:51
Speaker 7: So I've been telling myself that would just like with external stresses and whatever may come up, is like, hey, when you go work out or when you're eating, well, you make a good decision, Like that is not an obstac well, you're actually you're working towards the solution. And that's one that I've been kind of the last two weeks been going at. It's been really nice.

01:50:07
Speaker 1: Yeah.

01:50:08
Speaker 2: It reminds you of the Book of Atomic Habits. I know that's like a massive bestseller, but it's like strioping yourself of the idea of an outcome, and it really just comes down to what your daily habits are. You change your daily habits, you change everything.

01:50:22
Speaker 1: Yeah, but share with you, guys, Share with the audience. I love that.

01:50:28
Speaker 5: I know I need to get a full breakdown of daily regimen and daily routine that I'll apply for myself. One starter is just non negotiable and one that I've been kicking myself is walking the dogs every morning, every night, because that needs to happen, and I'll just do the lazy freight yard. Hey, go get them. Yeah, but it's easy that like when you're talking about like eating the elephant, one by day at a time, stacking wins the easiest win to stat because I need to be doing it. And then on the weekends too, of Jill and I prioritizing doing walks with Scarlet, getting outside, not just sitting around the.

01:51:09
Speaker 1: House watching movies. But yeah, I'm excited. Yeah, yeah, it all correlates too.

01:51:17
Speaker 2: We're obviously talking about fitness, but this is to me in every area that you have, every bucket that you have with fitness, self, of work, marriage, parenthood, we all have the idea. We all know you know what I mean, Like, we know the answers. We just we get scared to look that close in the mirror. Yeah, because we get disappointed in ourselves.

01:51:45
Speaker 5: Yeah, and there's always the excuse of tomorrow is like the big excuse for me of like couple therapy. Like I'm a huge believer in couples therapy. It's like, why hasn't been established? Jill's a huge believer in that. Yeah, sitting down and having like a full Excel spreadsheet breakdown of finances, Jill and I getting a joint account, a joint savings account, like all those little things where it's like, well, it's been a really it's been a really busy month and we've been there's a lot going on.

01:52:23
Speaker 1: We'll get to it. It's gonna get done.

01:52:25
Speaker 5: Yeah, there's wrap boop on the thing, Like I'll go get traps tomorrow at home depot and I'll set the traps out. Like everything starts stacking on each other. But it's everybody says like make your bed is like because that's the very first thing you do when it's you know, catch a small dove.

01:52:44
Speaker 1: Catch a small dove. I told you when I was.

01:52:48
Speaker 5: In bed for like a month depressed and we touched on this like at the very I think this was like pre Derek, like one of our very first episodes. That was what my thrapists told me when I was just like literally trapped in my own head and laying in bed not getting out of bed for a full month. He's like, get up, make your bed, shower, and put a nice outfit on that that somebody's gonna see you in, because then you might as well just leave the house if you look nice, you might as well, you know, go apply for that job that you've been wanting to apply for.

01:53:25
Speaker 1: You might as well like all the big goals. Yeah, it's not a dan Gable but an Apollo Creed. There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow. There is no tomorrow. Tomorrow, tomorrow. No, that's what you're wrong, man, Fuck you get the pist just follow the echo of the little basement gym that they're yeah tomorrow. And he's hitting the walls and he looks up in the mirror. Hmhm uh Do we want to right?

01:54:05
Speaker 7: Do?

01:54:06
Speaker 1: We don't want to lose what I got? Yes? Yeah, let's hit the voice. We're still under an hour. We're still under an hour.

01:54:14
Speaker 5: Six on one of the dads for a reminder, and then you can write in six on one of the dads at gmail dot com.

01:54:21
Speaker 1: This is our first one. It is dating advice for for PT. Six what's going on?

01:54:31
Speaker 8: Boys love the show. Just got a quick question. My son just finished with his rugby season and it's co ed. One of the girls came up to him and asked him for his number.

01:54:44
Speaker 9: Mind you, he's only eleven.

01:54:46
Speaker 1: What do I do?

01:54:49
Speaker 8: That advice would help?

01:54:51
Speaker 1: All right, guys, have a blessed day. He wrapped up what he just finished the He said, it's the rugby season. The rugby season. Okay. Co ed team.

01:55:02
Speaker 5: Teammate comes up to him, says, hey, you mind if I get those ten digits?

01:55:10
Speaker 1: Kids got game? Sons got game, kids got game. No, we're talking about an eleven year old.

01:55:15
Speaker 5: We are talking about someone's sweet little eleven year old little boy. First off, huge w that a girl is approaching your son to ask him for his number.

01:55:32
Speaker 1: What confidence? I think that's a huge w for both of those parents.

01:55:38
Speaker 2: What advice would you go? Okay, eleven years old, that's what fifth grade?

01:55:43
Speaker 1: Yeah, fifth I will ish I doing at eleven, because.

01:55:48
Speaker 2: Dude, it's like the phone game is kind of out of my wheelhouse right now because I'm not going through it, obviously, I'm doing whatever I can to kind of prepare for it. I come across a lot of stuff with technology and when should they have a phone?

01:56:01
Speaker 1: When they should not? All of these there's there's there's a massive there's a lot of opinions on it. Yeah, so I want to be careful there.

01:56:10
Speaker 5: Also, I know that there's like the romantic side of this, but like she did, just ask for his number, could mean nothing exactly because again, there were they're young, I mean there were you.

01:56:23
Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, but if I had a crush Tricia Hartrup was her name, was fifth or sixth grade, I might have been a fifth grader. She was a sixth grader, and you know, you want to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend at that age. What my parents would do because that was landline back then. Yeah, but if we wanted to like hang out or anything, it would be at the movies with a parent.

01:56:52
Speaker 1: Yeah you know what I mean, Like, okay, at the mall with a parent. Yeah.

01:56:58
Speaker 2: Yes, if they want to hang out outside of school or rugby parental supervision. Yeah, dude, the girl wants his number. I don't know what the intention is, like, wants his number.

01:57:08
Speaker 1: To hang out? Uh huh? Are they the same age? Is she a year older? She's a couple of years older.

01:57:14
Speaker 2: Yeah, But it's like both of the parents of the two kids being on the same page to a do they want to go see a movie? Yeah, which one of us wants to go chaperon them, pick them up, drive them, go to the movie, sit in the movie with them.

01:57:31
Speaker 1: And just if you're allowing that to even happen.

01:57:34
Speaker 2: So like I had friends were you know, friends that were girls and their parents wouldn't let them date or anything until they were like a certain age.

01:57:42
Speaker 1: Yeah.

01:57:43
Speaker 2: So again, this is a this is a topic that has a lot of different opinions. My own experience when I was a fifth birder and it had a crush and wanted a girlfriend. If we were going to hang out outside of exchanging notes in the hallway at school, it would be one of our parents picking us up to go sit at the movie with us.

01:58:01
Speaker 1: Yeah.

01:58:01
Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, So I my addition to your like how to.

01:58:07
Speaker 1: Do it, it would be.

01:58:09
Speaker 5: The awesome opportunity that this boy dad has of that pregame talk and some other conversations with son about respecting women. Yeah, making you say, making it a fun environment. Things we don't say, things we do say, things that we do when we're hanging out with girls. How we treat girls, how we court them, how we court them. Because as crazy.

01:58:35
Speaker 1: As this sounds, Jill, my now wife, who's thirty, I know from her talking about this guy that her little fifth and sixth grade boyfriend crush was the quote unquote sweetest guy ever.

01:58:49
Speaker 5: Sherman, you would have loved him. And that guy was just the little fifth and sixth grade boyfriend. But look at the impact that that had on Jill of a picture of that's a good that's a bottle of a good man. How I should be treated. Was my fifth and sixth grade boyfriend that never tried anything, never inappropriate, always sweet. And I now you know she thinks highly of me because I'm her husband, but she equates me to him. Is like, y'all would be besties. Like y'all Like he's such a great guy. Da da da, And that's really cool. The little opportunity that, as small as it seems.

01:59:25
Speaker 2: That is a great point, honestly, because again, we don't know the full Yeah, number one, we don't know the full context of this situation. Yeah, they're just trying to play video games, Like is it exactly friend? Do they like each other? Do they have a crush? If they do and you're cool with them going to do the movie example, or any of the examples, but to your level, which I think is phenomenal. The opportunity of teaching your son the manners, the courtship, the game of how we respect women.

01:59:54
Speaker 5: Howat yeah, how you treat your friends there are women, so that when you know that she's all fit college, she can't think back and go.

02:00:03
Speaker 1: My friend Brandon would never do that. Yeah, never say yeah, good shit, bro, let's go.

02:00:09
Speaker 5: Oh speaking of uh, steak and BJ Buddy is our second voice.

02:00:15
Speaker 1: There we go talk about all that. Let's get back to the old job. What up?

02:00:26
Speaker 11: Fellas Caleb from Montana here not a dad, but a twenty two year old listener, loved the show last night. As I'm sitting here getting ready for church, I'm realizing it's uh the fifteenth. If you guys know, yesterday, hopefully you guys cashed in on steak and blowjob day.

02:00:44
Speaker 8: Well.

02:00:44
Speaker 11: As a single fella, I didn't really have any expectations for this day, but then last night I got a random text from one of my best friends saying, Hey, you want to come over for sam Antelope Steaks? Of course? Any good guy friend. Yeah, I'm there for some steaks. Luckily the old job done, so I didn't come with it because it was just me and him. There mistakes that would have been a little weird. But I'm not sure if he's hitting at anything. I don't know if he's a listener of the pod. So I just thought it was pretty funny this morning, going shit, I just went over to my best friend's house. That's a guy, just us two for steak and blow job day. Hopefull The neighbors didn't think anything of it, see you boys.

02:01:23
Speaker 5: And it's all you know, it's all about optics in a situation like that, it's all about optics.

02:01:29
Speaker 2: I love that this st six are called in Yeah, dude, and the assumption, like hope, the neighbors didn't think anything.

02:01:35
Speaker 1: Like the neighbors are also big fans of the pod.

02:01:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, you're looking at the wind. Oh but you see Tim going over to John's house. I see him grilling steaks in the backyard. You think, no, Tim, There's no way.

02:01:50
Speaker 1: I see Tim wearing a BT six shirt. No, not Tim. Not in Montana was the most Montana thing in the entire world. And hey, if you we ain't against anything, we ain't. No, no, no, no, no, we aint John No. If they did, you know, a happy steak day? Yeah, if they had been a happy Steak and BJ day, Happy steak and b J. Look look, buddy, listen on this side of the mountain. You know I hear you in Montana. Yeah, broke back, broke back mountain. I love that our brain. Thank you. That was a.

02:02:30
Speaker 6: Beautiful night that he thought of this on the way to church. That was my favorite party.

02:02:35
Speaker 2: Excuse me, father, can I get a confession? Can I get you in the confession room?

02:02:40
Speaker 1: Yes? My son going do nothing, but just the sin was weighing on me. How many ounces was the antelope steak? My son, I don't know. It was like a tenderloin. It was probably like eight ounces. Daniel Mary's.

02:03:00
Speaker 5: Thank you father. That's incredible. I get to take a road trip is our third and last voice.

02:03:09
Speaker 9: Now, Hey, what's up boys? Joe Philadelphia? First time, long time. I'm calling on a road trip to get my road trip badge. Today taking my daughter three months old and my dog, my Puffy Bo two years old, from Philadelphia to New Hampshire. I get to stop every two hours to feed her with a bottle. I get to turn a five hour drive into a seven hour drive. I get to do all of this just so that way my wife she has to she has to take some sacrifices. She has to go into the office.

02:03:44
Speaker 1: So today she's.

02:03:46
Speaker 9: Probably gonna have to go to brunch with the girls. She's probably gonna have to eat ice cream tonight without me on the couch before bed.

02:03:56
Speaker 1: She's gonna have to do those things. She's gonna have to make those sacrifices.

02:04:00
Speaker 9: Yeah, but I get to go on a road trip with my three month old daughter. Stop every two hours on a drive that I normally can just do straight through without stopping for gas. But I get to peter that bottle every two hours. I give you guys an updates. A fie managed to stay this positive for the rest of the ride, Thank you, and stays m Stay hard, man.

02:04:24
Speaker 1: Stay hard.

02:04:25
Speaker 5: He gets to clean the poop that seeps out of the diaper because you forgot to change it at the last bottle feed.

02:04:31
Speaker 2: You get to listen on the same song on repeat if you have a lullaby go to and you need the little one to fall.

02:04:39
Speaker 5: Asleep, yeah, or the shusher will. Have you ever had the pleasure of a road trip with the shusher.

02:04:46
Speaker 1: Tell me more s oh with the white non, Oh, it's actually going or you're the susher.

02:04:55
Speaker 5: No, it's a nice little it's on repeat. It's a nice little ten hour shusher.

02:05:00
Speaker 1: That is. It's great for any road traveling. You get to listen to that. If the kiddo's in the back, good news, who knows. I hope everything went well. Yeah yeah, but getting to with the three month old compared to one a little bit older when it gets harder to travel, yeah, you do. There there's some silver lining there. I was about to say, if he because I've been on some sicko road trips and I'm looking at you, Scotty. If you can time it with sleep, that's we've talked about this, Dad hack. You're right, you are one thousand percent. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but sometimes ship hits the ship hits the fan and it doesn't go according to plan. Yeah yeah, yeah, and Scotty's one of them. Scotty's got her dad in her. He got that competent, but you got that a get mentality when she's strapped in that car seat.

02:05:55
Speaker 7: Bro.

02:05:56
Speaker 2: Matter of fact, you just fucking it wasn't five hours or seven hours. It was thirty minutes. We went to Parenne down in Franklin last Thursday, I believe, maybe it was a Thursday, maybe.

02:06:11
Speaker 1: It was a Wednesday.

02:06:13
Speaker 2: And had a wonderful dinner, had a wonderful meal, Parenne great food. Went there for dinner, Yeah, got me some steak and fries, and on the way home, I had the obviously drove ruined Scotti there to me mom. Mama was doing her her I think paradigm check in, so her health check in, and met her at the restaurant. Restaurant was great. On the way home, we were gonna split both kiddos. We were wonder to have Mama. I'll take Scotty. Scotti is such a mama's girl right now. She is such a mama's girl. Loves Mama, dude. She loves her dad too, But it's I'm talking glued to him. Mama is the answer. Mam is the safe space. Mam is the salution. She missed Mom the entire thirty minutes. I'm talking screaming bloody murder in the truck, dude, and I'm throwing all seven different kinds of smoke yeah to her. Eventually I lost my shit.

02:07:16
Speaker 1: Scotty, you gotta shut up. Might not have been shut up, but it's like, you gotta stop crying. Come on, man, work with me.

02:07:30
Speaker 2: Ah, dude, I couldn't take it, of course, pulling my phone text a wife, Scotty's losing it.

02:07:36
Speaker 1: Yeah.

02:07:38
Speaker 2: I hold the entire way home. Then I get out, park, truck goes off. She stops crying when the truck goes off another car. I look back at her. She's got, you know, the tears, her welted eyes, the saddest thing in the world. Pull her out, kind of like a jerk motion to get her out, and like just set her on the ground while I get the backpack and everything else.

02:08:00
Speaker 1: I'm pissed. Yeah, yeah, because I'm like, dude, what the fuck are we doing? Man? Like I'm dropped delivery apparently. Yeah, dude, we're gonna get home. You're gonna see mom again. Yeah, pick her up, going, set her on the kitchen counter. I sit on the kitchen counter. It's silent in the house. Feel waffle down on my feet, and I'm just looking at Scotty. I'm like, dude, what was that? What are you doing? We're home?

02:08:21
Speaker 2: I told you we're coming home. Yeah, like, dude, we're beefing right now. Yeah, told her straight up. I'm like, when mom gets home, I'm telling this to Scotti. When Mom gets home, I'm giving her the bottle, and I'm like, you got Scotti because I'm done with you. Yeah, I can't talk to you right now. I don't negotiate with Terry. Yeah, guess what you're being right now.

02:08:44
Speaker 5: Also, I don't I don't say this to pick on you. I say this because it was really fun to get to see it. I've never seen you lose yourself ever, like upset wise, and I saw a hint of it at the zoo when you were trying to hand Rude the beef jerky stick the beefstick.

02:09:04
Speaker 1: Do you remember that? Were we about to get on the train? You know?

02:09:07
Speaker 5: Wait, it was actually right after the train and you had said like four times in a row, rue beefstick, beastick, rue beefstick. And I think she may have been talking to me.

02:09:20
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think she's probably telling you the story she told me a story. You just go after the fourth one, you go for the love of God, and she finally took it from me, and you go and just hearing that tone in your voice made giggle. Dude, it was so funny. I lost in the trunk.

02:09:43
Speaker 2: It was like a sling. It was like a five second moment. You do the thing, you turn up the music. You'll want to try and beat you with this music. I can't do it. I'm just like Scottie. I'm like reaching back, trying to like rock right to stop, Like sweetheart, you got lama, you need wa for the love of God, talk to me.

02:10:03
Speaker 1: Let's going. We're going to be home in twenty minutes.

02:10:09
Speaker 5: The closest I come is just that beat, the drum story that I told you of. Oh my god, the grip that I had on the steering wheel, and I was in some sour mood.

02:10:20
Speaker 1: Would to get back there and shake me? I did? I grab her seat a scarlet. Let's quit hitting that fucking button. What are we doing? You've hit it thirty times.

02:10:35
Speaker 5: Not to change the mead too much, but I do have it says on here, sad, sad sad warning. Oh are you okay with that? I'm good with a sad warning. Okay, I'll walk in here, fellas. I'm writing to you too, as fellow dads, and to all the other dads out there.

02:10:58
Speaker 1: Listening.

02:10:59
Speaker 5: Some of you may know what I'm going through and some may not. From those who have been through this before, I asked for sympathy. For those who haven't, I simply asked for prayers. There's no easy way to put this, but my wife is leaving me. It certainly is a shock to see the sentence written out, but I can't say I didn't know that this was coming. It's something I've dreaded, but my wife and I have been talking about it for months, and the day has finally come. The worst part about all of this is she's taking my eighteen month old daughter and my unborn daughter in parentheses. My wife is pregnant with our second She's taking them with her. I pleaded and begged with my wife that my daughter could stay with me, but it was a fight I was never going to win. And now flights are booked, bags are packed, and I'm watching the three biggest loves of my life leave out my door while tears stream down my face. I'm not sure what to do with myself. I'm not sure how I'll survive. These four days are going to be the hardest of my life. I should probably give more context. My wife is flying with my daughters to go see her best friend's baby shower out of town.

02:12:14
Speaker 1: I begged her to let.

02:12:15
Speaker 5: Me come along, but she kept telling me things like it's only four days and it's an all girls shower, and stop lying. There's a zero percent chance you actually want to come. Maybe the first part of my email was a bit dramatic, but I'm obviously still stressed about what I'm going to do this coming weekend. She's a great cook, so I'll be missing out on her cooking, so I'll probably have to order a pizza and wings just to survive.

02:12:39
Speaker 1: And I'll probably be lonely, so.

02:12:41
Speaker 5: I'll probably have to go out to the bar and watch college basketball with boys just to distract myself. And the house is probably going to be really, really peaceful and quiet, and that's probably going to be devastating. Anyways, this coming weekend is going to be absolutely brutal on me this weekend, So any and all prayers you can send.

02:13:02
Speaker 1: My way love the pod. It makes it so.

02:13:06
Speaker 5: Comforting knowing that there's other dads out there going through the same little struggles and that we're not alone. Wishing you guys the best from a very lonely and depressing and not at all awesome home this weekend, dom.

02:13:21
Speaker 1: Can I say something? Yeah, fuck you, bro, that's an April First, that's an April First show.

02:13:43
Speaker 2: No, I didn't start to transition until you said beats and wings. Yeah, it took me along. Dudes, like I'm trying to put some stuff together, Like I'm thinking.

02:13:58
Speaker 1: Wheels going in your head. I was sad for him.

02:14:01
Speaker 2: I'm like, damn, we you know this, dude wrote in Yeah, he's talking about his wife leaving him. Yeah, like I'm thinking divorce, like leaving a lot of us did. And the four day thing. I started to get confused. I'm like, so wait a minute, like im think getting divorced. And he's wanted to go on this baby shower. It's an all girls one. It's an all girls one stop one. You don't even want to come. And I'm thinking, is she cheating on him? Wish not letting him come? If this is his last hurrah with seeing the kids, Like, let me come to the dude.

02:14:31
Speaker 5: Maybe even worse than cheating you, bro, She's taking the kids to a baby shower out of town.

02:14:37
Speaker 6: The worst part about it all was Sureon was talking earlier about how like I don't even look at the voicemails, I trust you. He got halfway through that and he's like, should we add this to the show, Like this is fucking sad?

02:14:46
Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I don't listen to the voicemails, but I read.

02:14:48
Speaker 5: I read the emails, and that one had me for like the first half, and then once he got to the the four days part, I'm like, wait, hold.

02:14:57
Speaker 2: On, Yeah, I started to get confused. I'm like, is it's just like there, she's leaving him. Excuse me, She's just going on the weekend baby shower. But is she coming back? I'm only gonna be going four days And I'm like, okay, so what's that. That's kind of a weird way to separate. And then maybe he just wanted to last, like just be around the family one last time, and then she doesn't want him to come. I'm like, okay, maybe she's she's got some other motive. And then when you hit the pizza and wings, I'm thinking, oh, that's kind of a maybe he's just trying to jive with the brand while he's telling us something really deep and serious, and I'm sitting here thinking like, man, I don't have words for him other than just a beck I'm really sorry you're going through that.

02:15:41
Speaker 1: We'll sit with you in this. I probably still don't have words for him now that I have the full picture. But but the whole turn or it's just he's sad because he's living for a weekend that we will. Is that not a big deal? Yeah, I'm sorry, a huge deal. But the sad alerts we cry every week, we all these this dude's be a vulnerable comeou, his wife's leaving him for this on board Chok, Well now it's for now. It's a joke. Now it's it's a joke.

02:16:09
Speaker 2: What No, anybody that's been listening to pod for this long and got to that moment. The sad alert, everything that goes on with us each week, the tears. A main cream was sad alert written on the sheet.

02:16:23
Speaker 1: There wasn't actually saddlert written.

02:16:26
Speaker 6: Just for the record, I added that that's a Sherman Young original.

02:16:29
Speaker 1: I did it great, that was great. Thank you. He had me. You had me the whole way until I'm like these motherfuckers, bro, he has to get the whole you know, if if you've gone through this, I asked for some sympathy if you haven't pray for me, and then leading with the my she's leaving me. Yeah, for four days during March. This is March, this is this is Mars March.

02:16:52
Speaker 5: There goes my bracket. Bracket busted. Who wrote that in Dominic Rosa dominic Rosa?

02:17:03
Speaker 2: Well gratitud yes great, yeah, because you also was fluffing it as well.

02:17:08
Speaker 1: I'm thinking I'm about to tear up. I'm supposed to tear it up.

02:17:12
Speaker 2: I'm thinking, how do I sit in this moment with him versus just like giving him. I hope he's not like wanting us to give advice because I'm thinking, dude, I don't know.

02:17:19
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's brutal. It's still very serious. That's still it's still joke. That run that is it's not very serious, well crafted, well written. Siran was on board, I.

02:17:32
Speaker 5: Was well on air. I do want to say I am sorry if if that.

02:17:37
Speaker 1: If that did gut you. I thought we we thought she was leaving him. Then I thought she's cheating on him. We often he's just writing to us like he's like, I'm going to write into the boys. Yeah.

02:17:51
Speaker 5: When we do have sad stuff on here, we we try to celebrate like somebody in their sadness for anybody that does write actual sad things into the podcast, because we do often read that, and we do love coming around our brothers, So for.

02:18:09
Speaker 1: Sure, we love putting arms around our guys.

02:18:11
Speaker 5: We love putting our arms around our guys, so we will put that out there. But I could, I could see why you'd be a little sad boy on that, and I apologize if that hit.

02:18:23
Speaker 1: Too those great you got me good, domb got us?

02:18:28
Speaker 5: Yeah, and like obviously best wishes to Dom yeah best, yeah, yeah, did you have something else?

02:18:38
Speaker 1: My comments are kind of everywhere. I think they're right here next to our Dan Gable. Oh, bobble Head, it's hide and mind the the rabbit. Okay, I got a couple, I'll rip these. Where are we at two fifteen? Should we just rip these? In rock?

02:19:11
Speaker 5: I have a lesson of the week. Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, one of those.

02:19:15
Speaker 1: And then.

02:19:17
Speaker 2: Okay, here we go. What's up boys? Cube here Evan Coop tier one with the boys. Coob, you gotta give our boy Cooper comstock graphic credit.

02:19:31

02:19:54
Speaker 2: Been rocked with for the dads and busting for a long time. Now he has He's again this This is a certified SICCO for the boys. And I've learned a ton from watching you guys build what you've built. It's honestly helped shape how I think about fatherhood, work ethic and showing up every day. One thing I'm excited to teach my son or daughter is to always bring value, but also know your worth.

02:20:14
Speaker 1: Work hard, be loyal, bet.

02:20:16
Speaker 2: On yourself, and when the time comes, don't be afraid to build your own table if a seat never opens up.

02:20:21
Speaker 1: I love that.

02:20:22
Speaker 2: Grateful for the inspiration you guys have given me over the years. Fatherhood's the biggest contract I'll ever sign. Appreciate you boys, Thank you for writing in man. This is awesome and congratulations to you and why he congratulations Bud's training complete.

02:20:37
Speaker 1: It's become a Ptsiko. I hope you had a good March fourteen. I hope you had a good march forward. You come on, come on, come on, I do have one.

02:20:47
Speaker 2: I want to hear it here because I saw something in here that I'm curious to read.

02:20:52
Speaker 1: Is from Timothy Callahan, Pt. Sixers. I wanted to tell you.

02:20:55
Speaker 2: The incredible story of what I like to think has led me to believe that everything does happen for a reason. For the last ten years, I've been a high functioning alcoholic from being the life of the party in college, so realizing as I prepared to leave my twenties that the party never stopped. I was the only one still partying this year. On my thirtieth birthday in September, something higher than me, something higher than me, told me that I'm done partying. I've tried to cut back on drinking in the past, but under my own power, I never succeeded.

02:21:23
Speaker 1: That this was different. It felt like a call. It felt like a calling.

02:21:28
Speaker 2: As months went by, staying dry and hitting the weights, my wife we got married in June last year, decided it was time to start trying. Was this because I was finally stepping up and being the man she always knew I could be? Was it my newfound motivation and success at work. Was it that I was in the best shape that I've been in since college? I'm still not sure, but nonetheless, nonetheless budge training was sick. Come on, I stress. I stress was eight weeks ago. I stress was eight weeks ago. I wonder, what do you mean.

02:22:04
Speaker 1: To go with? I stressed because eight weeks ago we okay, I was stressed.

02:22:08
Speaker 2: There we go that was probably I was stressed because eight weeks ago we found out that we're expecting. Eight weeks ago is also the week that my friend Austin introduced me to the pod, just days before learning the news. As as I near my six months sobriety milestone, listening and learning weekly, I've learned that it's a boy. The due date September twelfth, my thirty first birthday, and what will be exactly one year from making the best decision of my life, taking my life back. My wife Sarah has supported me through everything. She was there when I was struggling and celebrates all my successes.

02:22:42
Speaker 1: Even the small ones.

02:22:43
Speaker 2: Listening to the pod makes me feel ready to be there for her for what I'm sure will be our hardest, most rewarding journey yet. Garbages are out dishes are done, the dog is walked, steaks are dry. Aging for steak and blowjob Day this Saturday, March fourteenth. Can't wait to crack a celebratory ollipop this September, Tim, Tim, thank you for writing in.

02:23:04
Speaker 5: My friend tim very humbling email. Yeah, that canna keep a humbling category, dude.

02:23:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, And thank you for sharing the high functioning alcoholic all of that, dude.

02:23:15
Speaker 1: Thank you for sharing that story. Thank you for sharing why you felt like.

02:23:24
Speaker 2: Those are the reasons that you turned everything around and now you're about to be a dad. Yeah, which you're right is the best thing in the world, the hardest thing in the world. So congratulations man. That is awesome.

02:23:33
Speaker 5: It makes this this podcast is really fun and cool because we are currently wearing robes from a seance that we conducted earlier to you know ward Off the girl Dad.

02:23:49
Speaker 1: Or the curl Man, the girl on the Curse, rid ourselves of the curse. Also a pt Siko that introduced himself.

02:23:59
Speaker 5: I went to that Pokemon ripping packs thing with Taylor the expo and there was a pet Sico talking to him and he actually said he listened before the dads and he was trying to explain to me why he liked it.

02:24:13
Speaker 1: He was like, you know, I like the genuine, like the.

02:24:16
Speaker 5: Really genuine moments and how you like.

02:24:20
Speaker 1: You you guys, I go the shipheadedness.

02:24:22
Speaker 5: He goes, yeah, it's the coupled with the shipheadedness, and I think that's what makes the show so great. And I was like, well, dude, thank you, Like that's that's a very like I love hearing that review. But that is what I love about this show is you can have emails like that that. It's like, man, I just I love that you are loving life, finding purpose, joy, joy, all perspective and that listen to our podcast is a part of that.

02:24:57
Speaker 1: Your journey, Yeah, your journey that's in your I was short wiring there for a second. Yeah that you know, with the ship headedness. Yeah, yeah, this is it. This is March. Yeah. Well that that was how he was.

02:25:11
Speaker 5: He was trying to get the word ship aheadedness, and I had to I had to jump in there feed the word because he he.

02:25:18
Speaker 1: Didn't want to be insulting. I was like, you're not. Yeah, that's the vibe.

02:25:22
Speaker 5: We just talked about steaking blood jobs for a long time. Speaking of I have our like a nice little lesson on.

02:25:28
Speaker 1: This great lesson followed the stake of blow Day.

02:25:31
Speaker 5: And before I go into it, I do uh. We got some comments that maybe the Dan Gable quotes were too much, that we were doing too many of them.

02:25:40
Speaker 1: Really yeah, And I don't want to like yeah, no we didn't. Yeah. I didn't want to make a big deal about it.

02:25:46
Speaker 5: But there were a couple like, hey, Dan Gable quote every week, like is this really what we're gonna do?

02:25:53
Speaker 1: Oh, that's ogs we get the actually, and so I switched it up. I switched it up.

02:25:59
Speaker 5: This one comes from them, uh Gandable. Success is earned in the hours nobody sees. And that's from coach Gandable.

02:26:10
Speaker 1: Just to switch it up right now. Yeah yeah.

02:26:20
Speaker 5: My topic quote lesson of the week is intentional time with the wifey uh, Jill and I have been putting our phones down slash, turning off the TV, and setting and setting down her kindle for a mandatory ten minute cuddle session every night.

02:26:38
Speaker 1: I know that doesn't sound very long, and it's like, wait, that's mandatory, like total cuddle, like snuggle ord.

02:26:46
Speaker 5: Snuggle, snuggle, no shockwave where okay, yeah yeah, yeah, we're just we're literally talking ten minutes of cuddling in bed, no shockwab, no pun uh, every night, and it's been unreal. The pillow talk that we've been having during these times is something that's been lacking in our relationship for months. It's been awesome from a connection standpoint, but also extremely calming and relaxing. It's been helping us fall asleep faster. That's when you know it's a good convo when you fall asleep mid conversation, which is something that we hadn't had in months, which is honestly kind of sad that like the screens had done that to us. In general, I've been trying to emphasize dating my WiFi, flirting with her, joking with WiFi, asking wify her opinion on things, kissing her, hugging her respectfully, grabbing cheek while she's on the stepstool, reaching for the nice bulls that we keep in the higher kitchen cabinets, and hitting her with a little eh. In parentheses, I wrote, she loves that, but yes, ten minute of mandatory cuddle sash, it's fire and it's very easy to implement. I love that, and I know that that sounds like a bit like oh man, that's kind of sad, Gruman like ten minutes a cuttlep bit just with everything with the baby and stuff, like you kind of lose you a little bit and you got to get back into that, like, hey, we're we're lovey dovey, like.

02:28:18
Speaker 1: Back into the courtship.

02:28:19
Speaker 5: Yeah, we're lovey dove boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, wifey, Like that's my girl. It's been really great. That's Bee, that's Bee. You on a date or in all good lesson? Thank you did, great sod, great sod. You want to sign us off?

02:28:40
