Had fun with coach Kauer and he said that he wouldn't be upset with his defense because he said there were some pivotal plays there that could have gone Pittsburgh's way. And I thought that maybe if he was still the head coach, he might be a little upset with his defense that hasn't been formidable like we've expected with Pittsburgh. We saw the Dallas Cowboys, PAULI came up with a great idea to trade for Miles Garrett.

Speaker 2: From what I'm told and what's been reported, they reached out to the Raiders for Max Crosby and the Bengals for Trey Hendrickson. It makes sense, but Jerry Jones finally got around to saying, you know what, maybe my defense isn't that good. If you don't have a pass rusher, those defensive backs even more exposed, and they have not been good at all. Offense has been really good, except for yesterday when they went up against a real good Broncos defense. The Broncos lead the NFL with thirty six sacks. They've allowed a league low eight sacks, so they're the first team in NFL history with those numbers through the first eight games of a season.

That defense gives up thirty points every single game. You got a backup quarterback and you guys have been playing well and then you guys get shut down. Those are the games you just have to win. Them might not be pretty. Hey, they didn't have Lamar Jackson. Who cares. When's the last time somebody said, hey, I won all these golf tournaments, but Tiger didn't play in all but two of them. Like nobody tells you, hey, I won. How many PGA tour wins do you have? I'd like to know how many wins guys got when Tiger wasn't in the field or Jack Nicholas wasn't in the field.

They are now. This game on Thursday against Miami is really interesting from this perspective. If you're the Ravens, can you hold Lamar Jackson out one more game and give him even you know, two weeks to get healthy. Or but the Dolphins looked impressive. Could they get back to back wins here? Maybe you're saving Mike McDaniel's job, and that's what happens. I think LSU might have been concerned. If they keep Brian Kelly on for the Alabama game and he wins the Alabama game, can you fire him after that? There's a lot of suggestions here on who LSU might go after, including James Franklin. Lane Kiffin is high on that list. Joe brad who was the quarterbacks coach when they had Joe Burrow there. He's now in Buffalo. He might get a head coaching job in the NFL. Eli Drinkwitz at Missouri, Jeff Brahm at Louisville. So you got some guys. Now, I don't know John Sumraw. Where does John sumrall coach? Because right now he is the favorite Tulane Oh okay, Andy Staples talked about that. Okay, the oddsmakers say LSU will stay in state to hire Tulane's John Sumraw.

But you know, when you start to think about what's going on in college football, so there's more money, there's less caution, and the days of long rebuilds and second chances are fading fast. You know, you go back to nil. It didn't just change recruiting, It changed the powers structure of the sport. And if you know the early signs or any indication, you know, the coaching carousel, the football carousel is picking up speed and is not slowing down. All right, We'll get to best and worst of the weekend. What you saw that you liked, you didn't like. How about worse loss of the weekend. I'm going to put the Bengals there because you're at home. It's been a good story with Joe Flacco, You're playing the Jets, and all you got to do is be a five hundred team. Hold on for dear life. Maybe Joe Burrow comes back and you can squeak into the playoffs. The Bears, maybe they are who we think they are. Maybe they're just a middling team right now. Steelers at home against green Bay. You can get away with those losses with a bad division, but at some point you're gonna have to win these games or a game like this. The Packers are a really good team, and Jordan Love played really well, but you're the Steelers at home, and it wasn't a home field advantage because Aaron Rodgers said they had to go on a silent count because there were so many green Bay fans there. But I would say the Bengals best win of the weekend, I'd say the Jets. Would you say anybody else comes close to the Jets? Doing what they did on the road. Given what happened this, Yeah, Paulie, I.

Check your local listings or you can stream both games on Peacock. Nothing really stood out, jumped down any further news out of the investigation with the poker game. You also had the gambling on games and prop bets. But the NFL, it washes everything away. It's the great car wash. Just just get into the weekend and the NFL the great car wash, and all of a sudden that car comes out and looks okay, all right, Hey, Wembley's playing great, Shay Gilgers playing great Austin Reeves at fifty one. Luke is going to be out. I guess for least a week, maybe two weeks. But yeah, thank thank goodness for the NFL, with all these sports. That's why you get that news dump on a Friday. And if you can get to a Friday at five o'clock and all of a sudden put something out, you go into the weekend, that story's gone by Monday, or at least that's the hope.

So you see fifty million for Brian Kelly, fifty three million for James Franklin. But the reality is almost all these contracts have these duty to mitigate clauses where they have to go look for another job, and if they get one, then LSU and Penn State are not going to have to pay them all that money. So it's like every national head reports it as that how could you pay this guy this much money? Not to coach. There's so many jobs open, they're almost definitely not going to pay him that because Brian Kelly and James Franklin are going to get other major jobs that are going to offset whatever LSU and Penn State hold.

Speaker 2: Away Cam Scoutaboo injury. I was a bummer bummer for everybody there. It was a good story, but you know, the giants were trying to hang in there. And I don't know what happens to the body when you have an injury like that, because Scoutaboo knew that he had maybe broken his ankle or just located it and it would be painful. But it's almost as if like he stopped and he just was pointing at hey, something's up with my ankle there. And I don't know if just their shock or something happens where the body protects you in some way. But man, you knew right away. You know there's certain injuries. And then when the network isn't showing you replays of it, which is good, I get it, but understanding you know the severity of that, you didn't have to go. I think it might be it felt like you knew right away. But that's a serious ankle injury, dislocated I think having surgery today in Philadelphia, and you know you lose Malik Neighbors. So the Giants have something there like this is a story that could play out where maybe Brian Dable keeps his job. Maybe scout Aboo is going to be one of those man. He's going to be Marshawn Lynch two point zero, Milik Neighbors, who I think can be a great wide receiver. Defense has some players. It's about finding your quarterback. If they found their quarterback in Jackson Dart, now you can really begin the process of we can compete in the NFC East. Maybe next year.

By the way, the Ravens were all over the place with Lamar Jackson's injury designation, so he was listed as a full participant in practice, but Pauli did some research on this, and full participant is taking all the reps. First team reps is full participant. Lamar Jackson was participantating in practice, but he wasn't taking the first team reps. That's the difference. So the betting line was swinging wildly. The Ravens were favored by six and a half. It went down to two two and a half. They said, it's an honest mistake. Now maybe it's you know, people on the staff in pr their job is to keep an eye on this. I didn't think that it was let's get a competitive advantage on the Bears, where we're not going to let them know if if a snoop Huntley is going to be playing instead of Lamar Jackson. But this comes back to gambling. So in the same week you have this investigation into the NBA and they're looking at exploiting injury information. Lebron James he's not going to play, or if Chauncey Phillips told somebody, hey, I'm going to sit in my first three starters or four starters, and you know, bet accordingly, it's all about gambling and I just think that mistake, Mike, an honest mistake, might cost the Ravens some draft picks. I was looking for you worst laws was waiting forty five minutes for the damn movie to start. Too many ads. The comments last week about Baltimore possibly winning the division I think are right. The Steelers I think are going to lose six or seven of their next games because they got Indie, San Diego, Cincy, Buffalo, Detroit, and they still got Baltimore twice. So I think they're in huge trouble. And quick stat with them, I believe over the last two games they the team in the second half scored on every possession on both those games.

In the Freddie Mercury biopic, I thought it was good, but it didn't You're right, probably opened a lot of people's eyes to go Lee, I got to get that music. I got to download that and you know, they end up selling their music catalog for over a billion dollars, you know, by comparison, you know, Springsteen and some of the Neil Young and Dylan I think they were five hundred million. Queen went for maybe one point two billion for their catalog.

That's my worst, but my best as a Virginia fan. We still found a way to win. It's our third overtime win of the season, two on the road line in Louisville, and then of course the big one at home against Florida State.
