<v Speaker 1>Hey everybody, It's Tuesday, April twenty eight, twenty twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>Welcome to the Giant BombCast, Episode nine hundred and thirty eight.
<v Speaker 1>I am your host, jan O show A joining me
<v Speaker 1>co captain of the Ship, the spiciest newsman around, Jeff Grubb.
<v Speaker 2>We're gonna we're gonna be in Los Angeles for Summer
<v Speaker 2>Game Fest in like thirty five days.
<v Speaker 3>You shut up, You shut up at the hell of me.
<v Speaker 4>I don't like it any more than you guys do.
<v Speaker 1>He's he's coated in uh, citric acid crystals because he's
<v Speaker 1>a little on the outside, but he's full of sweet
<v Speaker 1>gummy goodness on the inside.
<v Speaker 5>Dan Rykert, if Donald Duck ate Jeff Grubb shirt, he
<v Speaker 5>would go quackers and he would get really pissed. You
<v Speaker 5>could run through enemies and really far. Mike Truman, you
<v Speaker 5>haven't introduced yet. We're talking about Donald Duck. You can't join, Mike. Yeah,
<v Speaker 5>don't you think Donald Duck? That's classic Donald, right? Jeff Grubb?
<v Speaker 4>I do, Yeah, I know everything about that guy. He's
<v Speaker 4>a duck.
<v Speaker 6>Jane, what are your thoughts on Donald Duck.
<v Speaker 1>He's the most powerful wizard in the Final Fantasy universe.
<v Speaker 1>I love that guy.
<v Speaker 2>I like when he dives into the money.
<v Speaker 4>What are his kids?
<v Speaker 6>I can't remember his kids names.
<v Speaker 4>What would the uh?
<v Speaker 3>I think it's like Weezy.
<v Speaker 2>And Walker, Austin Walker, Yeah, yeah, yeah, his nephews.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, you're a joke. Sorry, this guy, he's all quackers.
<v Speaker 1>We can't keep him off topic. He's just thinking about
<v Speaker 1>his skull hat that's just made out of bones.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff Beckal.
<v Speaker 4>And I've screw up the joke. I'm sorry. It was
<v Speaker 4>time to pull the plug on in any You know,
<v Speaker 4>sometimes I put things out of their misery. So look
<v Speaker 4>happy to be here.
<v Speaker 3>Janny, Thank you, jeffy uh and we've got the.
<v Speaker 1>Birds me, Mike Mini Dan was talking about quackshot.
<v Speaker 3>Donald Duck has three next the green one screw that
<v Speaker 3>jumps into the money, not him.
<v Speaker 1>Hey, uh, you know we're talking about dates, I said,
<v Speaker 1>to the date of this podcast. But a very important
<v Speaker 1>date that's coming up, Gang is our the anniversary of
<v Speaker 1>our independence May tenth, Gang, And to celebrate, we've got
<v Speaker 1>a couple of things in the bank for you. We're
<v Speaker 1>thanging and banging and fanging. Uh, the fangan you'll have
<v Speaker 1>to find out. Just wait, just wait, because we talked
<v Speaker 1>about this already. But again, get excited. Chuck informed us
<v Speaker 1>of this. But it's been ten years or the tenth
<v Speaker 1>anniversary of the Endurance Run?
<v Speaker 4>Is that correct? What was the math?
<v Speaker 5>What was the fact that moah, it must have been shenmuh.
<v Speaker 1>But the Bully Endurance Run is coming to your Internet
<v Speaker 1>screens soon. But it's coming sooner. If you are a
<v Speaker 1>Premium member the week of May eleventh, Monday through Friday,
<v Speaker 1>you Independence Independence Week, you get the Endurance Run a
<v Speaker 1>week sooner. But if you're a first episode, first episode,
<v Speaker 1>if you are just you know, you're hanging out, You're
<v Speaker 1>you're supporting just by being here. The Endurance Run comes
<v Speaker 1>out for everyone Monday through Friday on the week of
<v Speaker 1>May eighteenth. That's not the only thing we have prepped
<v Speaker 1>for Independence Week. You know, the bad boy of games
<v Speaker 1>media is gonna be going bananas that week. Mike Man,
<v Speaker 1>what do you got playing for the folks?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>I know you've teased this for a while. People have
<v Speaker 3>kept asking me when is it happening? But that's right.
<v Speaker 3>The Mike Minaughti Marathon Run of Donkey Kong sixty four
<v Speaker 3>will be the main event for giant bombs in Dependence
<v Speaker 3>Week and how much am I playing. That's gonna be
<v Speaker 3>up to all of you. The more you support us,
<v Speaker 3>the more I'll play in Folks, I'm ready to go
<v Speaker 3>beyond one hundred percent. I will do that one oh
<v Speaker 3>one just for baby, well not.
<v Speaker 2>Just for fun, it's for money.
<v Speaker 3>But so yes, the the Donkey Kong sixty four one
<v Speaker 3>percent run marathon buy me. I'm ready to put in
<v Speaker 3>like ten hour days. Uh, you know, whatever it takes
<v Speaker 3>man to get that thing done. It's gonna be a
<v Speaker 3>lot of this game that you all claim is so
<v Speaker 3>bad and so painful. I don't have much DK sixty
<v Speaker 3>four experience. We'll see. I have been forged in the
<v Speaker 3>flames of Blake Club. Surely some rare collectithon can't hurt me.
<v Speaker 5>I did think about calling this like a blytathon, but
<v Speaker 5>like I believe that, everyone pushed back me, like it's
<v Speaker 5>not a blight game, And you're right. I'm actually kind
<v Speaker 5>of a defender of DK sixty four. But I do
<v Speaker 5>think the like DK sixty four is an okay ride
<v Speaker 5>if you're just going through doing what you need to
<v Speaker 5>do to get to the end and beat it. Even
<v Speaker 5>then one one I've never done. I think that is
<v Speaker 5>where the blight adjacent stuff might creep in here. And
<v Speaker 5>like Mike said, he will go up to and including
<v Speaker 5>one hundred and one percent every Golden Danon stuff depending
<v Speaker 5>on the support that comes in. So it's not gonna
<v Speaker 5>be one giant stream. It is going to be TBD
<v Speaker 5>in terms of like long days, it could be ten
<v Speaker 5>hour days and then we might do you know, shifts
<v Speaker 5>of people joining him and things like that, But there
<v Speaker 5>will be a lot of donkey going sixty four going on.
<v Speaker 3>I might be joining like the BombCast in a window,
<v Speaker 3>as I still have to play this game.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know some of the logistics.
<v Speaker 1>Do yeah, move over, Dustin Hoffman. We have our own
<v Speaker 1>marathon man over here. But in the meantime, Jeff Grubb,
<v Speaker 1>how could folks also help support us before we get
<v Speaker 1>to Independence Day? Independence Week?
<v Speaker 2>You can support us and support independent games media by
<v Speaker 2>going to almost said Patreon. No, that's not where we're at.
<v Speaker 2>We're at Giant bomb dot com, slash Join, become a
<v Speaker 2>premium member. If you do that, you get at reversions
<v Speaker 2>of our shows. You're gonna get a bunch of the
<v Speaker 2>premium only shows. You're gonna get stuff like oh, early
<v Speaker 2>access to the Endurance Run. It is worth it, and
<v Speaker 2>it also gets you us good feelings of knowing that
<v Speaker 2>we hey, we get to keep doing what we're doing,
<v Speaker 2>You get to keep supporting it, and we all get
<v Speaker 2>to keep this cool community going in a really strong
<v Speaker 2>and healthy way.
<v Speaker 1>Thank you, everybody, Thank you everybody and gang. We also
<v Speaker 1>need your help in other fronts on the website, our
<v Speaker 1>own Chuck Towski needs a little bit of your help.

<v Speaker 1>off as the days in a week's progress. But if
<v Speaker 1>you've opted into keeping your account, you can request a
<v Speaker 1>password reset now giint bomb dot com slash login. And
<v Speaker 1>we are also still looking for help on the wiki.
<v Speaker 1>If you have PHP and media wiki knowers at a
<v Speaker 1>BombCast dot com slash wiki help check out, help the
<v Speaker 1>wiki out. We talk about independent games media. We're also
<v Speaker 1>talking about independent databases of fun things for people to
<v Speaker 1>latch onto. There's also a bunch of fun stuff on
<v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com. Make yourself tearless while you're there.
<v Speaker 1>They're also video player apps available using our new video
<v Speaker 1>APIs you can find on iOS and Android apps built
<v Speaker 1>by Con and Clint Eastman. Head to giint bomb dot
<v Speaker 1>com slash apps. Unfortunately, we can't give you a triple
<v Speaker 1>dipper though Chuck hasn't figured out how to do that yet,
<v Speaker 1>but who knows. The technology may be there. My friend
<v Speaker 1>showed me a video of him in China and then
<v Speaker 1>he had boba delivered to him via drone and that
<v Speaker 1>was crazy.
<v Speaker 4>What that's sick?
<v Speaker 3>It's sick?
<v Speaker 4>Right?
<v Speaker 3>What the fuck? What are we doing?
<v Speaker 1>Uh? Your patience has appreciated. Uh, but thank you for
<v Speaker 1>your continued support.
<v Speaker 3>Boys. How's everything going. What's happening?
<v Speaker 4>I'm feeling it's sicky.
<v Speaker 1>Pooh.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm like I'm started coming down with something. My
<v Speaker 2>understanding of others are feeling better. Yeah, I'm kind of swing. Yeah.
<v Speaker 6>You can't blame me for it.
<v Speaker 4>No, no, you you yet.
<v Speaker 2>We've contained you successfully, Minnesota, so now it's not your
<v Speaker 2>fault this time down.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, I share it in your voice. Then I still
<v Speaker 5>still I think I've got the post. Like you know,
<v Speaker 5>I wouldn't even like coughing a bunch. I was just
<v Speaker 5>it was like a lot of congestion, night of fever
<v Speaker 5>for a few days. I had kind of a saga.
<v Speaker 1>Before before you get to your saga, which may be
<v Speaker 1>fun and silly, Can I share something kind of morbid?
<v Speaker 6>Yes?
<v Speaker 1>Okay, all right, all right, okay, I gotta I gotta
<v Speaker 1>kind of close the door for this one.
<v Speaker 4>Close the door, pal, Oh you sit close to your door?
<v Speaker 3>Huh, very close the room, very tiny. Okay. So I
<v Speaker 3>think I've I've mentioned online and to y'all.
<v Speaker 1>You know, my my pops is in like a treatment
<v Speaker 1>facilities and like a transitional care facility as he's doing
<v Speaker 1>his rehab, and I thought like, oh, it's a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of older folks, people post surgery. And I'm just sitting
<v Speaker 1>hanging on the lobby waiting for my mom to get down.
<v Speaker 1>And then a gentleman in uh an undertaker, long leather coat,
<v Speaker 1>walks in with like a gurney. And I'm used to
<v Speaker 1>seeing people come in with gurnies and everything to transport
<v Speaker 1>patients to appointments and whatnot. I'm thinking like, oh, it's
<v Speaker 1>just another dude, but his gurney is not kitted out
<v Speaker 1>with all of the cool hydraulics like everyone else's is,
<v Speaker 1>and he just goes to the woman at the front desk.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, hey, uh, where do you keep your bodies?
<v Speaker 1>I'm with the mortuary and I'm like, wow, what oh
<v Speaker 1>there's there's dead people here. Oh no, and then she
<v Speaker 1>leads I. I see her lead him to a different hallway,
<v Speaker 1>and I decide I can't really take that energy right now.
<v Speaker 1>I don't really want to be her. I don't want
<v Speaker 1>to see them wheel out a dead person because that's
<v Speaker 1>someone's beloved unfortunately passing. And I go outside and I'm
<v Speaker 1>assuming I'm going to see a hearse, right, that's what.
<v Speaker 1>That's what Those those cars or or maybe an ambulance
<v Speaker 1>car or something like that. Uh No, I don't see
<v Speaker 1>one of those. Instead, I see with the hazard lights
<v Speaker 1>flashing with certain mortuaries. Uh company love the side. No,
<v Speaker 1>I see a Honda Odyssey.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I thought you were gonna say a cyber truck,
<v Speaker 2>and I just don't think. I didn't want to.
<v Speaker 3>So gang out there, you know.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we may hold one day to be transported to
<v Speaker 1>another rest before we get to a resting place in
<v Speaker 1>a good old Honda Odyssey.
<v Speaker 2>Ay, dead or alive, throw me in a Honda odyssey.
<v Speaker 4>I'll take it man.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's reliable. Yeah yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Taking me to the place where they're gonna birdbe so
<v Speaker 3>I could get into that desk quick powder form for you.
<v Speaker 1>It's not exactly right, very very very spaciously. Who knows,
<v Speaker 1>there may be more people.
<v Speaker 3>In there, uh any anyway.
<v Speaker 4>You could probably stack three like side by side.
<v Speaker 2>You could probably fit three, and then you can probably
<v Speaker 2>start piling them in like a.
<v Speaker 3>Pyramid machine with all the seeds down log style.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, you know, I don't know. Is there like
<v Speaker 1>a default size for like a Oh.
<v Speaker 4>No, I got a mortician friend. I'm not joking.
<v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, you of all people should yeah you would. Yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you know.
<v Speaker 4>Mine is more of the playful goth. I don't really
<v Speaker 4>want to hang out in the mortuary, but you want
<v Speaker 4>to talk to those who do. Yeah, I want to
<v Speaker 4>get to know them and see what it's what it's
<v Speaker 4>like doing all the stuff. I'll send a text and
<v Speaker 4>see see if I have any information there for you guys.
<v Speaker 3>Let's do like a quick behind the scenes of log
<v Speaker 3>or something. You know.
<v Speaker 4>There you go.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, all right, thank you everyone for letting me share
<v Speaker 1>that story. I just needed to get it out of
<v Speaker 1>my system. But Dan, you you've been getting a lot
<v Speaker 1>of stuff out of your system.
<v Speaker 5>Kind of still working on that. So this is kind
<v Speaker 5>of a three acts saga here. So I couldn't taste
<v Speaker 5>or smell for a good chunk of last week, and
<v Speaker 5>it's it's a bummer, Like it wasn't COVID.
<v Speaker 2>I new COVID test tok it.
<v Speaker 5>It was negative for that and everything, but I couldn't
<v Speaker 5>taste your smell, had a fever, congestion and everything. And
<v Speaker 5>it's just like eating is just such a stupid thing
<v Speaker 5>when you're like that, because's like I'm not going to
<v Speaker 5>drive any joy from this, So like just give me
<v Speaker 5>just a protein brick or something with vitamins or something.
<v Speaker 5>It's like, I'm not gonna enjoy it. So I was
<v Speaker 5>just eating, like peanut butter sandwich is for like every
<v Speaker 5>dinner or something. And I think I saw a commercial
<v Speaker 5>or something for grilled cheese and tomato soup and or
<v Speaker 5>I just saw an image of it or thought of it,
<v Speaker 5>and in my head, I was like, God, I haven't
<v Speaker 5>had that in so long, and I'm craving that so much.
<v Speaker 5>The second I can taste anything, I want to have
<v Speaker 5>grilled cheese and tomato soup. So I'm like getting myself
<v Speaker 5>excited for it. I'm just laying in bed all day
<v Speaker 5>and I'm like, you know what, I've always struggled with this.
<v Speaker 5>I've never really understood how to make it. I'm gonna
<v Speaker 5>learn how to make it. I'm going to order this stuff.
<v Speaker 5>So I ordered soup, I ordered bread, I already had cheese.
<v Speaker 5>I was like, all right, once i'm ready, I'm gonna
<v Speaker 5>celebrate by feeling better by making a grilled cheese and
<v Speaker 5>tomato soup. And it's like, oh, this is what everyone
<v Speaker 5>says the YouTube's good for. So I go to YouTube
<v Speaker 5>and I'm like, I just wouldn't have the most basic
<v Speaker 5>ass like how to make a grilled cheese and tomato soup. Like, actually,
<v Speaker 5>I just need the grilled cheese tomato soup. I think
<v Speaker 5>I could figure out. I've done that twenty years.
<v Speaker 4>Constructions are right on the can.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah right, Yeah, I haven't done it in twenty years,
<v Speaker 5>but honestly, I don't. Rember last i opened a can,
<v Speaker 5>it was probably twenty years ago.
<v Speaker 3>You're saying you bought a can of tomato soup.
<v Speaker 6>Yes, right, So that's I'll get to that in a second.
<v Speaker 5>I just bought, like, in my mind, just like Campbell's
<v Speaker 5>tomato soup is just that's what tomato soup is. So
<v Speaker 5>I bought a few of those on Amazon, had them delivered,
<v Speaker 5>got the bread and all that stuff, and so finally,
<v Speaker 5>oh wait, well okay, I'm doing the research.
<v Speaker 6>And everything on on the YouTube thing, and I.
<v Speaker 5>Just type how to make grilled cheese, just the most
<v Speaker 5>basic fucking for those that think it's a bit and
<v Speaker 5>all this like just no, I'm just sitting here, not
<v Speaker 5>on the air. I'm just like, how the fuck do
<v Speaker 5>you make this happen? I've been trying to figure this
<v Speaker 5>out forever. Once that floodgates open and I know how
<v Speaker 5>to make grilled cheese happen for myself, it's gonna be
<v Speaker 5>a problem.
<v Speaker 6>Because, yes, mister Backler.
<v Speaker 4>Thank you. First time, long time, I could have sworn
<v Speaker 4>that you had done the grilled cheese thing grilled cheese
<v Speaker 4>on content for this websit, but we don't have.
<v Speaker 2>Time.
<v Speaker 5>Now, I'll explain the two times just what it was
<v Speaker 5>years ago I did it. I think it's probably like
<v Speaker 5>on YouTube or something still, but I had bonked just
<v Speaker 5>off camera. That was like guiding every step of the way,
<v Speaker 5>so I had the major safety net going on there,
<v Speaker 5>so I don't even think that counts. She kind of
<v Speaker 5>like made it easy for me fair enough. The second
<v Speaker 5>time was extra life here, and I remember the deal
<v Speaker 5>was like I'm just going to go up and try
<v Speaker 5>to figure it out. And I remember watching the VOD
<v Speaker 5>later and Mike is about to have a heart attack
<v Speaker 5>in the basement, just like, oh my god, it's gonna burn.
<v Speaker 6>He needs to take that off.
<v Speaker 5>The thing, he needs to take that something about the
<v Speaker 5>so I knew there was something about my instincts led
<v Speaker 5>to almost a blaze in my house. So it's like, okay,
<v Speaker 5>well I can't follow my instincts. I need to follow
<v Speaker 5>a tutorial and just follow it to the letter. So
<v Speaker 5>it'd happened how to make a grilled cheese and uh,
<v Speaker 5>it's the first thing that pops up. It's just a
<v Speaker 5>bunch of shorts. And I don't ever see shorts, and
<v Speaker 5>so I'm like, all right, let's just this seems to
<v Speaker 5>be probably a good function for this because I have
<v Speaker 5>blocked on desktop, so I never see them. But I
<v Speaker 5>was on my phone trying to figure this out, and
<v Speaker 5>I was like, I have guess whatever, and I can't
<v Speaker 5>figure out. First of all, I can't figure out if
<v Speaker 5>you can rewind shorts. I don't know if you can
<v Speaker 5>pause shorts, so I'm just restarting it every time I
<v Speaker 5>need it, like a second. So it's like, and it's
<v Speaker 5>this guy, and it's this the most fucking I don't
<v Speaker 5>know what's the young kid generation now?
<v Speaker 6>Is gen zen al.
<v Speaker 5>His fucking voice, Hey, I'm chef Tyler, and I'm gonna
<v Speaker 5>teach you. This is like the perfect grill. It's and
<v Speaker 5>this is gonna get you the best cheese pull. And
<v Speaker 5>it's like it's like it's like he's making this for
<v Speaker 5>Instagram pictures and stuff. I'm instantly annoyed by this guy's voice,
<v Speaker 5>his whole cadence, the way he's talking about the cheese
<v Speaker 5>pole like I just wanted to taste good. I know,
<v Speaker 5>I'm not fucking posting stories about this grilled cheese. So
<v Speaker 5>I'm already mad about this fucking and I'm watching a
<v Speaker 5>YouTube short. This whole situation is bad, and so eventually
<v Speaker 5>I'm tired of trying to figure out how to rewind
<v Speaker 5>or and things like that, so I'm just fuck this.
<v Speaker 5>I'll wait for Bong to be so that's Act one
<v Speaker 5>is me attempting to learn in it failing.
<v Speaker 4>Wait, yes, why why not just why not just google it?
<v Speaker 2>I mean everyone says YouTube is good for that, and
<v Speaker 2>so I thought that would be like what you.
<v Speaker 4>Watch it short?
<v Speaker 2>Like you could have definitely scrolled down and found something
<v Speaker 2>that wasn't a short, and you.
<v Speaker 4>Hate it so much, you're I don't know why you're
<v Speaker 4>putting yourself through this, right.
<v Speaker 5>Like we don't want to geial. I just wanted to
<v Speaker 5>watch a video on how to do this, and that.
<v Speaker 2>Was definitely in that search. If you if you search
<v Speaker 2>on YouTube how to make a grilled cheese, and that
<v Speaker 2>definitely would have shown up. You probably had to scroll
<v Speaker 2>down a little bit. But hey, here we are.
<v Speaker 5>I was getty confused by shorts in my face, and
<v Speaker 5>I was just like, I got to get out of here.
<v Speaker 5>Rum okay, So I said, fuck this, I'll just wait
<v Speaker 5>for Bunk to be home. By that time, I can
<v Speaker 5>probably taste and everything, and I'm very excited. And so
<v Speaker 5>she gets home and I'm like, hey, Bunk, uh, I
<v Speaker 5>know you know how to do this. I've been craving tomato,
<v Speaker 5>soup and grilled cheese, and I can take I smelled
<v Speaker 5>peanut butter this morning, so I know I would be
<v Speaker 5>able to enjoy it. And she's like, oh, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I can. I can make it for it. I said, here,
<v Speaker 5>I got the stuff, and she's like, oh, you got
<v Speaker 5>like condensed soup, and so just I don't know if
<v Speaker 5>that's good or bad or anything, but like just illustrate
<v Speaker 5>how little I know about this. I'm just like, I
<v Speaker 5>don't know what condensed means. I don't know what different
<v Speaker 5>form factors.
<v Speaker 4>It means.
<v Speaker 2>It's candence. You just add water to make it less
<v Speaker 2>cond so.
<v Speaker 6>To that point. So she's like, yeah, this will work,
<v Speaker 6>and then she.
<v Speaker 5>She dumps it in the pot, and I'm looking at
<v Speaker 5>the can because I'm kind of wanting to like observe
<v Speaker 5>and see how this happens so I can make it
<v Speaker 5>happen for myself in the future. And it said like, oh,
<v Speaker 5>for creamier milk, for creamier soup, you can add a
<v Speaker 5>milk instead of water and ooh ooh bomp, I like
<v Speaker 5>creamy tomato soup, Can we do milk instead of water?
<v Speaker 5>And she's like, oh, you know you know what that
<v Speaker 5>we we got we got we only have vanilla almond milk,
<v Speaker 5>and it said, that's fine it because in my mind,
<v Speaker 5>all milk tastes exactly the same. I've said that before,
<v Speaker 5>skim milk, whole milk, every half and halfens, it's all
<v Speaker 5>the exact same thing. So in my mind, that's fine.
<v Speaker 5>She's like, really you want vanilla tomato soup and it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 5>it's it's it's milk, it's the same thing.
<v Speaker 2>Whatever.
<v Speaker 6>And then I was like and she she's like.
<v Speaker 5>Okay, And then I was like, oh, can you put
<v Speaker 5>can you put some Like She's like, she's like, is
<v Speaker 5>there anything else you want on the soup or anything?
<v Speaker 5>I said, can you just put like some salt and
<v Speaker 5>pepper on the on the tomato soup when it's done?
<v Speaker 5>And she's like, oh, it's gonna have tons of salt
<v Speaker 5>in the suit already. And that broke my fucking brain too,
<v Speaker 5>because like I never considered that like any food packaged
<v Speaker 5>or in a restaurant had salt inherently in it, like
<v Speaker 5>I always because sorry, I knew that was going to
<v Speaker 5>beat me first, Mike, but no, I think the last
<v Speaker 5>hang on hand, let me logic lay it on, because
<v Speaker 5>they put salt at the table. So I always assumed
<v Speaker 5>that salt like something so necessary for food that you
<v Speaker 5>also are going to want at the table. No, I
<v Speaker 5>just thought it meant that salt is something that is
<v Speaker 5>applied at the moment of consumption, Like that's where you
<v Speaker 5>administer salt, is at the table.
<v Speaker 2>I did not realize that.
<v Speaker 5>Food that you buy us could already have salt like
<v Speaker 5>baked into it.
<v Speaker 4>Well, they lost all those culinary laws in the nineteen tens,
<v Speaker 4>and you know, someone's for me please.
<v Speaker 2>So anyway, like eight things broke my brain here where
<v Speaker 2>it's like oh, okay, like.
<v Speaker 5>I didn't know you can do that. Okay, you can
<v Speaker 5>do this all right condensed. I don't know what that means.
<v Speaker 5>It's like there's already salt and the soup like why
<v Speaker 5>did they They did it? They pre salted the soup
<v Speaker 5>Like that's crazy. So anyway, I learned that and everything,
<v Speaker 5>and then uh so Act three I ate it and
<v Speaker 5>it was bad because it was vanilla tomato soup.
<v Speaker 6>And then I why did you?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah you really you really weren't concerned about putting vanilla
<v Speaker 3>in your soup?
<v Speaker 5>Nope, because Mike, that's I know, I talked about it.
<v Speaker 5>It's not a bit when I say, like all milk
<v Speaker 5>tastes the same. In my brain, every milk just tastes
<v Speaker 5>like milk.
<v Speaker 4>Even flavor.
<v Speaker 5>I know, we only have vanilla almond milk all the time.
<v Speaker 5>That's what I put in my cereal. That's what I
<v Speaker 5>put in fucking everything, you know, like a coffee or whatever,
<v Speaker 5>just milk. And so it's like it's you can put
<v Speaker 5>it in anything that needs milk, but it actually milk.
<v Speaker 6>The tomato soup tastes like vanilla, and that was gross.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think we all understand how you arrived at
<v Speaker 4>this uh silly situation.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know, I think people would probably say, hey,
<v Speaker 2>we've we've warned you about such things. You know, I'll
<v Speaker 2>say that you like, you do that to yourself, right,
<v Speaker 2>because your brain tells you that. And then when we
<v Speaker 2>put the coke and the diet coke in the diapepsy
<v Speaker 2>and everything in front of you, you could tell a
<v Speaker 2>pretty good difference, Like you were pretty accurate.
<v Speaker 5>I think that's how strong my brain is, though, is
<v Speaker 5>that it's I'm working myself to actually think I believe
<v Speaker 5>that stuff, but then when I'm confronted with it, I'm like.
<v Speaker 2>That's insane.
<v Speaker 6>That's not the case at all.
<v Speaker 4>Well, I was like, you just sort of choose what
<v Speaker 4>you want to remember, and I think that's the part
<v Speaker 4>that choice continues to kind of get you.
<v Speaker 2>You know, don't do vanilla and tomato soup. It's yeah,
<v Speaker 2>everyone ever try that. Everyone told me I shouldn't.
<v Speaker 3>Care that.
<v Speaker 2>Anybody would get I thought you'd believe her, believe her.
<v Speaker 5>But in my mind maybe it's just like I'm not
<v Speaker 5>going to notice its milk, you know, And then I noticed.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you would notice, you would notice it milk.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, the girl cheese is delicious, but that.
<v Speaker 2>The girl cheese was okay, you use it?
<v Speaker 4>Do you use mao on the girl cheese? That's that's
<v Speaker 4>another thing about the chef.
<v Speaker 2>Tyler.
<v Speaker 6>Motherfucker he's putting like is get the fuck.
<v Speaker 4>Out of here, Like, no, no, you'd love it.
<v Speaker 2>It's good nos butter.
<v Speaker 5>I'll just do the thing about grilled cheese. Everyone always
<v Speaker 5>gives me, Ah, it's the easiest thing in the world
<v Speaker 5>to make it, but it is fucking No one has
<v Speaker 5>the same way. Some people do mayonnaise, some people put
<v Speaker 5>the butter on the bread, and some people just do
<v Speaker 5>the butter and the bread and then throw in the pan.
<v Speaker 5>Some people are like melt, have the tablespoon the butter
<v Speaker 5>in the pan, and then you put the bread in there,
<v Speaker 5>and then they all clip it.
<v Speaker 2>You don't flip it.
<v Speaker 6>But then you said for four minutes and no one,
<v Speaker 6>no one knows how to make grill cheese.
<v Speaker 2>But dam here's you're like, you're just making it more complicated.
<v Speaker 2>You put fat on one side of the bed bread.
<v Speaker 2>That could be a butter or mayonnaise, it doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 2>That's the point. You get that brown, you put the
<v Speaker 2>cheese in the middle, you put the other side. You
<v Speaker 2>just flip it over.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, that and something that you put the butter in
<v Speaker 6>the pan first.
<v Speaker 2>You can't do that.
<v Speaker 4>It comfortable to you, you know, Damn yes, because you
<v Speaker 4>can't control to me.
<v Speaker 6>And Mike was having a seizure down here because he
<v Speaker 6>thought my kids was gonna catch.
<v Speaker 2>On the past.
<v Speaker 4>That's this.
<v Speaker 3>You protected this onto me. I never thought you're gonna
<v Speaker 3>bring You're get it down. I thought you were making
<v Speaker 3>a shitty grilled cheese sandwich because you emptied half a
<v Speaker 3>can of PAM into your fucking pan before you cook
<v Speaker 3>the thing.
<v Speaker 5>No, there's a part where you're like, oh, please take
<v Speaker 5>it off. It's gonna start smoking. Please take it off.
<v Speaker 3>And you thought you're gonna burn the sandwich. I didn't
<v Speaker 3>think your house was gonna burn down.
<v Speaker 5>Oh well, when I hear it's gonna start smoking, I
<v Speaker 5>think my house is gonna burn down.
<v Speaker 3>No, just you're just gonna ruin a fifty cent sandwich.
<v Speaker 3>It'll be okay.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking about starting to smoke, I think I gotta go
<v Speaker 1>to again. I think I'm starting again after this.
<v Speaker 4>No, no, I get it, Dan, You're gonna have to
<v Speaker 4>pay us back for all the subs we just lost.
<v Speaker 4>I feel like you're gonna.
<v Speaker 2>Like dan'sburd winning the Who's Weirder poll?
<v Speaker 5>That's the only one that's willing to tell the truth
<v Speaker 5>about how nobody knows that.
<v Speaker 4>You're a hero.
<v Speaker 1>So I take this that we really should go to
<v Speaker 1>Benny Hanna and take the Hibachi Chef class.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, my fun.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I want to make the volcano onion tower.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, I want to do the egg roll. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>We we all have to have one specialty in the
<v Speaker 1>the Benny Hannah Chef trick line. All right, uh bets now, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I want to do uh uh, the the zucchini train.
<v Speaker 6>Oh that's fun, that is good.
<v Speaker 2>But Ti sucks, but yeah.
<v Speaker 4>They need new tricks. I'm just gonna say. I mean,
<v Speaker 4>people kind of want to we kind of want to
<v Speaker 4>play the hits. I think back, They've been touring off
<v Speaker 4>this album for thirty years.
<v Speaker 2>It's like the Globe Try.
<v Speaker 1>Would it surprise any of you to know that my
<v Speaker 1>friends and I had like a griddle and we're like
<v Speaker 1>practicing how to juggle and flip around like the tongs, And.
<v Speaker 2>Of course that's awesome. I want to be I think
<v Speaker 2>the devil Sticks version of being a food vendor is
<v Speaker 2>uh those Turkish ice cream guys that like trying to
<v Speaker 2>give you want to keep taking away the one I
<v Speaker 2>want to.
<v Speaker 3>Go that ice cream.
<v Speaker 1>You would kill as a hip botch you chef the
<v Speaker 1>more I think about it, Oh, I would love to
<v Speaker 1>be honest.
<v Speaker 3>That's just little devil sticks.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah exactly, and you know, little juggling. I like all
<v Speaker 4>that stuff. Yeah, but it's not as uh you know,
<v Speaker 4>it's not as uh benine when you drop one of those. Okay,
<v Speaker 4>well yeah, well just not going to drop that's fine. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>well then we're then we're.
<v Speaker 3>In the clear.
<v Speaker 4>Okay. Uh.
<v Speaker 1>If you couldn't tell this is actually a video game podcast.
<v Speaker 3>Oh oh oh, thank god, I've never been so happy to.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I've been looking for a button for ten minutes.
<v Speaker 3>It was like, well, please make sure you don't let
<v Speaker 3>me forget to tell this story before we start.
<v Speaker 2>I want to get everyone the most exciting part of
<v Speaker 2>my last week.
<v Speaker 1>But you know, in order to play video games most
<v Speaker 1>of the time, you need a controller. And yesterday we
<v Speaker 1>dropped our review video and an unboxing four the Steam Controller,
<v Speaker 1>which you can use to play video games.
<v Speaker 6>You're really good, grub even spend a lot of time
<v Speaker 6>with it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love it. It's it's it's good. It's it's
<v Speaker 2>one hundred dollars. That's the thing that makes everyone kind
<v Speaker 2>of go, oh man. Yeah, But I double the outraged though.
<v Speaker 2>It because people have grown up in a world when
<v Speaker 2>they think about when they have bought controllers, they are
<v Speaker 2>still thinking of get in for fifty or sixty.
<v Speaker 4>Dollars, maybe seventy dollars.
<v Speaker 2>The all this census the RAM, I mean, got the RAM,
<v Speaker 2>and this thing's crazy. The dual sense is seventy five.
<v Speaker 2>So okay, that's kind of a tough comparison. I see that.
<v Speaker 2>But the more recently released controllers, the Joy Contwo and
<v Speaker 2>the Nintendo Switch Pro controller are one hundred and ninety
<v Speaker 2>dollars respectively. So this is where controllers are headed. I
<v Speaker 2>still think that the one hundred dollars for controller is insane,
<v Speaker 2>but having if they came and took this away from me,
<v Speaker 2>I would go out and buy one.
<v Speaker 4>I would. I would.
<v Speaker 2>I would spend the money on it because it's it
<v Speaker 2>really is that good. The dpad is fantastic, The antalog
<v Speaker 2>controls are very good as well, and it's all very
<v Speaker 2>comfortable to use, like none of it is like oh
<v Speaker 2>I got to bend my thumb or anything like that.
<v Speaker 2>It just fits into my hand and the exact way
<v Speaker 2>I went. And then it had all the feature parody
<v Speaker 2>the Steam Deck, so when you're using Steam Input and
<v Speaker 2>Steam os and Steam just on your PC, you get
<v Speaker 2>all the extra features that were already in the Steam
<v Speaker 2>Deck and all these millions of community profiles and developer
<v Speaker 2>profiles made for the Steam Deck. They'll just work on
<v Speaker 2>this thing. So it's like, oh, they have thought of
<v Speaker 2>it all. And then the puck is great, charge you
<v Speaker 2>just everything about it. Dan is really working for me.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, speaking of the profiles and stuff, Grub, I don't
<v Speaker 5>know if you've noticed this or if I saw this right,
<v Speaker 5>but like I I've been planning to slay this fire too.
<v Speaker 5>And when I play on the Steam Deck, I like
<v Speaker 5>to use the track pads because like there's stuff like
<v Speaker 5>if you hover over any of the like relics or anything,
<v Speaker 5>you see the descriptions and it's better to use a
<v Speaker 5>mouse for that to hover over stuff because the controller
<v Speaker 5>cake get to everything. So on the Steam Deck, I
<v Speaker 5>made a profile to like, okay, I'm gonna make the
<v Speaker 5>track pads act as mouse and to press it in
<v Speaker 5>is click for each and I swear when I played
<v Speaker 5>it on PC recently, I think it just translated to
<v Speaker 5>my controller, Like have you noticed that, like making a
<v Speaker 5>profile on the steam Deck and then it just works
<v Speaker 5>for this like one to one.
<v Speaker 2>Uh yeah, I yes, right, they just kind of carried
<v Speaker 2>over for me. That happened at least once.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it just kind of worked. And then like use
<v Speaker 5>cases for me, there are ones that like I didn't
<v Speaker 5>even see coming that I love, Like, for instance, I
<v Speaker 5>have a laptop, a gaming laptop hooked up to my TV,
<v Speaker 5>so when I play PC games on the TV, it's
<v Speaker 5>usually going through that.
<v Speaker 6>But I also use the laptop a lot for Like, look.
<v Speaker 5>If I'm loading up like an aw pay per view
<v Speaker 5>whatever and I'm doing like a VPN thing, and I
<v Speaker 5>bought the thing through a VPN. Like basically, I'm saying,
<v Speaker 5>I got to like click around a browser a lot
<v Speaker 5>on my TV, and that usually means I've got a
<v Speaker 5>Bluetooth keyboard and mouse flopping around on the couch and stuff,
<v Speaker 5>and it's awkward, like trying to move a mouse on
<v Speaker 5>the couch or my knee or something like that.
<v Speaker 6>But like being able to use this with the track.
<v Speaker 4>At and everything surprisingly good.
<v Speaker 5>It removed the mouse situation, so it's good for just
<v Speaker 5>browsing the computer. You know, I dock my Steam Deck
<v Speaker 5>a lot, and I just like there are certain games
<v Speaker 5>that I like to walk, like Slay the Spire, mugen X,
<v Speaker 5>a lot of like you know, turn based stuff, Vampire Crawlers.
<v Speaker 5>It's great for on the treadmill or whatever. So this
<v Speaker 5>has been fantastic. You know, just dock the Steam Deck.
<v Speaker 5>It's got on my profiles and stuff on there. Play
<v Speaker 5>with that anything that uses a mouse, Like if you
<v Speaker 5>if you play steam Deck, you know how good those
<v Speaker 5>tracks pads are, And it's just fantastic having that like
<v Speaker 5>in controller form, it just feels great. I compared to
<v Speaker 5>a Dreamcast controller in a couple of videos we've made.
<v Speaker 5>But I do think just because of how kind of
<v Speaker 5>tall it is, like just the way my hands rest
<v Speaker 5>on it reminds me of the Dreamcast controller without the
<v Speaker 5>weird chord coming out right right. I just think the
<v Speaker 5>form factor is fantastic. The back buttons here, like kind
<v Speaker 5>of the back pads, they're just these little circles here.
<v Speaker 5>They're not like I always hated the Elite controller, like
<v Speaker 5>the way that the big metal ones that would kind
<v Speaker 5>of flop around and get.
<v Speaker 3>In the way BOI.
<v Speaker 5>I preferred the Dual Sense edge ones the little nubs
<v Speaker 5>over the Elaite controller. But like this is my favorite
<v Speaker 5>like backpad situation in a controller.
<v Speaker 2>And it's like like you were talking about the ergonomics
<v Speaker 2>of it, so just like holding it with your hand
<v Speaker 2>to like hit the D pad or the stick, it
<v Speaker 2>all just kind of fits in. These nice long paddles
<v Speaker 2>make it super easy to like do either one and
<v Speaker 2>that's very natural. But then when it is time to
<v Speaker 2>go down and use the track pads, you do have
<v Speaker 2>to like bring your thumb way down here.
<v Speaker 4>But the way that the handles are set up.
<v Speaker 2>Is I just kind of like, why did my grip
<v Speaker 2>then my fingers naturally fall on the back buttons and
<v Speaker 2>this is a very comfortable way to hold it as well.
<v Speaker 2>And now it's like, oh yeah, I could set these
<v Speaker 2>back buttons to be the inputs along with the track pads,
<v Speaker 2>so when I am doing inputs for the PC or something,
<v Speaker 2>I don't have to like then reach back up hit
<v Speaker 2>the face buttons and everything remains super comfortable. It's they
<v Speaker 2>thought about everywhere, every way that people are going to
<v Speaker 2>be using this, and they didn't just like take a
<v Speaker 2>steam deck ad part, slap it back together and call
<v Speaker 2>it a controller. They really adapted it for to be
<v Speaker 2>the best controller it can be. And then that deepad
<v Speaker 2>is phenomenal.
<v Speaker 3>It is so good.
<v Speaker 1>And speaking about thinking of all the different ways people
<v Speaker 1>could use it, I'm very interested to see how like
<v Speaker 1>the community once it's out for people, and like the
<v Speaker 1>different profiles that people will make for like very specific
<v Speaker 1>games like I don't know if like the gyro aiming
<v Speaker 1>would be available for every single game, but I.
<v Speaker 4>Know that there are split open I think, so yeah, okay.
<v Speaker 1>I know that there are splittoonsick goes out there that
<v Speaker 1>insist on the gyro aiming versus you know, the the
<v Speaker 1>analog sticks. So I'm curious to see if that'll be prevalent, Dan,
<v Speaker 1>I really I remember when we checked it out at Valve,
<v Speaker 1>the thing that wowed me the most was the pointer
<v Speaker 1>feature yes in it, which is.
<v Speaker 5>So used to like you know, like pointer stuff has
<v Speaker 5>been around forever, but like you think about like a
<v Speaker 5>lot of it, like the we WE remote, you know,
<v Speaker 5>there's that lag to it. It kind of just feels
<v Speaker 5>like it's just kind of like trailing behind where your
<v Speaker 5>hand is ever so slightly.
<v Speaker 6>This is the most just like, oh man, it.
<v Speaker 5>Is just exactly the way like if you ever played
<v Speaker 5>like the Okarina Time remake on three DS and you
<v Speaker 5>could do like the Shooting Gallery games and it was
<v Speaker 5>like that was one of the first times gyro amy
<v Speaker 5>or like, oh this is just perfectly This makes it
<v Speaker 5>like much better than traditional controls, Like you kind of
<v Speaker 5>have that with everything with the Steam controller here.
<v Speaker 6>I haven't done a.
<v Speaker 5>Lot of FPS stuff with the gyro amy and grab
<v Speaker 5>have you messed around with the like fps too much
<v Speaker 5>of this.
<v Speaker 2>A little bit, But I was also trying at the
<v Speaker 2>track pad. We did that interview with them with some
<v Speaker 2>people from Steam and they were game yeah, el aren't
<v Speaker 2>Yang and they were saying like, oh yeah, I like
<v Speaker 2>to like play first person shooters and then like use
<v Speaker 2>the track pad to get even more ackerm I really am.
<v Speaker 4>I tried that.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, oh that worked too, but tried Gyro at
<v Speaker 2>that time. And yeah, so as long as you have
<v Speaker 2>Steam Open, you have the full feature set of the
<v Speaker 2>controller because you're gonna need Steam input the fully take
<v Speaker 2>advantage of everything. So that does like brace some questions
<v Speaker 2>like what is that going to look like when people
<v Speaker 2>try to use all the features on like.
<v Speaker 4>Retro arch and stuff.
<v Speaker 2>But thankfully the big part of that is the community
<v Speaker 2>has already solved a lot of those things.
<v Speaker 4>Because of the Steam Deck.
<v Speaker 2>And then once this thing gets out in the wild,
<v Speaker 2>I do think it's going to become, if not the
<v Speaker 2>default PC controller, the other default PC controller next to
<v Speaker 2>the Xbox inputs. So yeah, I think we're gonna expect
<v Speaker 2>full community support to come out of the woodwork for
<v Speaker 2>this thing, and every possible use case will be accounted for.
<v Speaker 5>I am so cool too, like the puck thing that
<v Speaker 5>like instead of like I've used a dongle on that
<v Speaker 5>laptop before, and you know, when something is shoved up
<v Speaker 5>there next to all the other things emitting Bluetooth and
<v Speaker 5>Wi Fi, all that electrical input lag, you know, all
<v Speaker 5>sorts of things right to reconnect everything, this this puck
<v Speaker 5>kind of getting it away from the PC, and then
<v Speaker 5>the way when you're done with it, the magnet just
<v Speaker 5>goes right on there. It's it's really really handy.
<v Speaker 6>I'm loving it.
<v Speaker 1>I think I talked about it and mentioned it during
<v Speaker 1>the review video, but I am genuinely curious about trying
<v Speaker 1>this for editing, right because some of some of the
<v Speaker 1>editing for our the archives of our streams is very
<v Speaker 1>light touch, just like a little bit of adjustments here
<v Speaker 1>and there. But with like the addition of the track
<v Speaker 1>pad there, it could kind of like fine tune stuff
<v Speaker 1>maybe like in Da Vinci Resolve futs around with like
<v Speaker 1>scopes and whatnot. Yeah, I'm very excited about this, and
<v Speaker 1>I normally don't get excited about controller.
<v Speaker 4>But also you should use if you're serious, you should.
<v Speaker 4>I I've heard a lot of people like those tour
<v Speaker 4>box things.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, but this reminds me of like one of those
<v Speaker 2>kiss and I think this one could easily be like
<v Speaker 2>turned into one of those with like a yes, because
<v Speaker 2>we're like with all of the abilities to build hot menus.
<v Speaker 4>And stuff like that.
<v Speaker 2>So you know, the left the left track pad already
<v Speaker 2>in Windows without like I think even Steam Open, especially
<v Speaker 2>with Steam Open, just automatically becomes a scroll wheel, so
<v Speaker 2>you just kind of go in a circle and it
<v Speaker 2>comes up and down on the menu, and you could
<v Speaker 2>just already see like, oh yeah, that could be a
<v Speaker 2>sort of one of those wheels you would have for
<v Speaker 2>a premiere pro project. But then you can make the
<v Speaker 2>other track pad like if I press this button, give
<v Speaker 2>me a menu, and then I can navigate it with
<v Speaker 2>this thing, and then when I let go of that
<v Speaker 2>button goes back to being a mouse and a clicker. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I could see it being like people building profiles in
<v Speaker 2>the Steam input for all kinds of productivity tools.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>And I don't know if we mentioned it here, but
<v Speaker 1>that puck supports four different controllers as well, right, yes, yes.
<v Speaker 2>For controllers without losing any like late, without introducing any latency,
<v Speaker 2>they said. I think I might be able to support
<v Speaker 2>even more than that, but up to four, like promised,
<v Speaker 2>and it's all going to function as well as it
<v Speaker 2>possibly can, and then you know that one hundred dollars
<v Speaker 2>price take. They try to justify it in some ways.
<v Speaker 2>I do think that the puck is pretty smart. Now
<v Speaker 2>most of these controllers come with a dongle, so making
<v Speaker 2>it like a charging thing as well. It's like, okay,
<v Speaker 2>this feels a little bit more premium. I would say
<v Speaker 2>that the build quality feels but it doesn't feel like
<v Speaker 2>one of the two hundred dollars controllers, but it certainly
<v Speaker 2>feels it feels durable. I'm always hasited to use that
<v Speaker 2>word because we just won't know until people actually get
<v Speaker 2>these things in their hands for a long period of
<v Speaker 2>time if they actually will hold up to a lot
<v Speaker 2>of use. But you know, on that end, it's repairable,
<v Speaker 2>like you give the screws or you could see them
<v Speaker 2>right in the back. They're hex screws, but they're very
<v Speaker 2>easily accessible and they they're working with I fix It
<v Speaker 2>to make sure that that is all like all the
<v Speaker 2>parts will be there and easily attained. So yeah, it
<v Speaker 2>just they've done a lot of work and then they've
<v Speaker 2>like for the analog sticks, they're not using that this
<v Speaker 2>is not one of those things where like Hey, we're
<v Speaker 2>going to sell your controller and then in the year
<v Speaker 2>later you need to buy another one because drift. They're
<v Speaker 2>they're not even using the Hall effects sensors. They're using
<v Speaker 2>TMR sensors. I believe it's what they are, which is
<v Speaker 2>even a step up from Hall effect because it has
<v Speaker 2>a really good dead zone in terms of being really tiny,
<v Speaker 2>no false inputs, and then also will not introduce drift
<v Speaker 2>over time. You know, as far as you know, in
<v Speaker 2>most circumstances, its way way better than the trade sticks.
<v Speaker 2>So they're putting the right technology in here to sort
<v Speaker 2>of say, hey, it's an investment. You're gonna get this thing.
<v Speaker 2>You're gonna be able to repair it. The battery is
<v Speaker 2>not gonna overcharge. You're gonna be able to easily replace
<v Speaker 2>the battery though when you want to. So, yeah, you're
<v Speaker 2>gonna spend a little money up front and hopefully have
<v Speaker 2>it forever. And I hope I do, because I really
<v Speaker 2>again like it a ton.
<v Speaker 5>I'm curious, like, yeah, once they get things working better
<v Speaker 5>with like retro arts and everything like that must be
<v Speaker 5>really nice for you know, all the different things you
<v Speaker 5>can do in retro artsy how do utize those track
<v Speaker 5>pads and everything in the gyro. It's it's gonna be
<v Speaker 5>really cool.
<v Speaker 1>I think this will be great whenever we have to
<v Speaker 1>go to like a PAS and like if we're playing
<v Speaker 1>a game or whatever, we just bring a Steam deck
<v Speaker 1>and then yes, all of us will probably have one.
<v Speaker 1>I want a Steam controller to bring sync it up
<v Speaker 1>with a puck. Good to go. Yep, exactly.
<v Speaker 2>It'd like be handy for any situation because I could
<v Speaker 2>just navigate my menusing Steam Deck like I had the
<v Speaker 2>Steam Deck in my hands.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, that'd be really nice.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, h A game that I would like to
<v Speaker 1>use the Steam Controller with, but unfortunately I cannot because
<v Speaker 1>it is only on the PS five is sorrows. Jeff Grubb,
<v Speaker 1>you did a review in progress for this Jimmy Jam
<v Speaker 1>that came out over the weekend. Any expanded thoughts.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm I think I'm at the final boss, and
<v Speaker 2>you know, he's hard, he's difficult. I one shot at
<v Speaker 2>the third boss, so I felt pretty proud of that.
<v Speaker 2>See yes, and and and and then I'm like a
<v Speaker 2>little bit disappoint because I'm like, man, I kind of
<v Speaker 2>like fighting against these bosses for a long time. Thankfully,
<v Speaker 2>this last boss has been pretty challenging, although I think
<v Speaker 2>I've got him understood now.
<v Speaker 4>I should beat him here pretty soon.
<v Speaker 2>It's it continues to be good, continues to be a
<v Speaker 2>very good game. I think a lot of my criticisms
<v Speaker 2>from Returnal still apply here where I think these runs
<v Speaker 2>are still very samey uh. Thankfully they do have more
<v Speaker 2>going on in terms of the depth of what what
<v Speaker 2>you can do. So the absorbing the enemy shots, I
<v Speaker 2>think that just adds enough of a layer of complexity
<v Speaker 2>to the moment to moment gameplay that it has kept
<v Speaker 2>me pretty thoroughly engaged. And then the progression and the
<v Speaker 2>metaprogression is also pretty like, oh, I want to be
<v Speaker 2>figuring this stuff out because there's this huge skill tree,
<v Speaker 2>and every time I invest in that skill tree, the
<v Speaker 2>game does become a little bit more manageable. And yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I'm so far it's been like, Okay, I'm getting near
<v Speaker 2>the end. I'm liking it more and more. I think
<v Speaker 2>it's plateaued, but I still think this is a good game.
<v Speaker 5>Now, Grub I'm curious because I'm about to beat the
<v Speaker 5>second boss in the second biome, and something I've noticed
<v Speaker 5>that I'm curious if it goes the whole game is
<v Speaker 5>that it almost feels tuned perfectly with the skill tree
<v Speaker 5>to be like, okay, once you have gotten like cause
<v Speaker 5>there are like blocks on the skill tree where it's
<v Speaker 5>like you can move up to this next part of
<v Speaker 5>the skill tree once you've beat this boss, but you
<v Speaker 5>need to be the buzz first, but you don't have
<v Speaker 5>to get every spindle of the tree to get up there.
<v Speaker 5>So like you can get to the first boss and
<v Speaker 5>only have half the skill tree up at that point,
<v Speaker 5>and I always feel like it's overpower to that point.
<v Speaker 6>And by the time I have.
<v Speaker 5>Everything all the pips up to the blocker, I feel
<v Speaker 5>like that's when I can like, oh, this is going
<v Speaker 5>to be the run where I finally take down the boss.
<v Speaker 6>It seems tuned very intentionally that way.
<v Speaker 2>Is that how you feel, Yeah, They've they definitely have
<v Speaker 2>built in a difficulty curve into this thing that like
<v Speaker 2>is a self propelling loop of I was really close
<v Speaker 2>that time. Oh god, So, I mean I got a
<v Speaker 2>bunch of lucinnite, which is the currency. If I just
<v Speaker 2>upgrade a few more things I just needed, like to
<v Speaker 2>survive ten more seconds, I could get a couple more
<v Speaker 2>I could put a couple more points in resilience, which
<v Speaker 2>is going to make me more survival, will give me
<v Speaker 2>higher right HP, and put a little bit more into command.
<v Speaker 2>There's a pip right there. I'll just go buy that
<v Speaker 2>one command is here, how much damage you do? But okay, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that should buy me ten seconds and you go back
<v Speaker 2>in there. And really, of course with these games, what's
<v Speaker 2>always happening is you're really learning the game, you're getting better,
<v Speaker 2>but it it kind of gives you this idea of like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>the game's also going to be easier, and that's the
<v Speaker 2>real reason you're getting better, and say, well, it's a
<v Speaker 2>combination of the two and they feed back into one
<v Speaker 2>another in a really strong way. So if people had
<v Speaker 2>a thing with Returnal where it was difficult to the
<v Speaker 2>point of putting them off, or that they kind of
<v Speaker 2>really didn't like the know the progression, I think all
<v Speaker 2>of that has been answered here that they have like
<v Speaker 2>tuned that they've almost overtuned it to the point where
<v Speaker 2>it's like, oh, I'm kind of just I should be
<v Speaker 2>focusing these early runs on just getting the resources so
<v Speaker 2>I can upgrade faster, because then I'll be able to
<v Speaker 2>beat the boss in the way that the game really
<v Speaker 2>expects me to beat it with the amount of power
<v Speaker 2>I should have, and so it almost to me feels
<v Speaker 2>like I'm on this this path, the set path, instead
<v Speaker 2>of sort of figuring out my own way. That's it's
<v Speaker 2>hardly a criticism because I think it's going to open
<v Speaker 2>up the game to a ton more people.
<v Speaker 6>It's definitely more accessible.
<v Speaker 5>I would hazard people to not make the mistake I made,
<v Speaker 5>where so like returnal the alt fire of each weapon
<v Speaker 5>is if you hold the trigger down halfway. If you
<v Speaker 5>hold L to you down half way and then you shoot,
<v Speaker 5>that activates the al fire, And I message Grab at
<v Speaker 5>one point is like, are you fucking up the alt
<v Speaker 5>fire a lot too? Because there are a lot of
<v Speaker 5>times it wouldn't work. And it's like, if you hold
<v Speaker 5>it down all the way, it's your power weapon, which
<v Speaker 5>you don't always have. And so like it felt like
<v Speaker 5>I was going too far and I couldn't use my
<v Speaker 5>alfire because it thought I was using my power weapon,
<v Speaker 5>if that makes sense, And Grab's like, no, not really
<v Speaker 5>having the problem, just hold it like halfway or whatever,
<v Speaker 5>and it's like, what am I doing wrong here? And
<v Speaker 5>then I watched the video grub where you were like
<v Speaker 5>talking about all the haptics and like when you absorb
<v Speaker 5>the orbs and stuff, and we're thinking, like, what the fuck,
<v Speaker 5>I'm not noticing a lot of haptics or anything here.
<v Speaker 5>And then I realize I've got the duel since Edge,
<v Speaker 5>and it's got like a separate sub menu where you
<v Speaker 5>alter like the trigger stuff.
<v Speaker 6>And the haptics and everything.
<v Speaker 5>And I had overwritten my astrobot's speed run profile, the
<v Speaker 5>one that I turned on everything just to focus on
<v Speaker 5>the speed run, and so I had to go into
<v Speaker 5>like a different sub menu and turn it. Like I've
<v Speaker 5>been playing seven or eight hours at this point, and
<v Speaker 5>then I flipped that stuff on, and it's like a
<v Speaker 5>new game now, because like you remember how good those
<v Speaker 5>like the trigger intensity things are and everything.
<v Speaker 6>Definitely turn all that stuff up all the way for
<v Speaker 6>this game.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it benefits it. It makes the game better and
<v Speaker 2>makes it more playable. Yeah, I don't know if there's
<v Speaker 2>I haven't looked in to see them. If there was
<v Speaker 2>a way to remap that secondary fire, I would say,
<v Speaker 2>just get used to it. It works and I like
<v Speaker 2>it quite a bit.
<v Speaker 5>It does have a lot of access ability options, like
<v Speaker 5>you can change because there is so much like color
<v Speaker 5>coded stuff, like, oh, the new ones are the ones
<v Speaker 5>you absorb and these are the corrupted ones, like you
<v Speaker 5>can change the color of the orbs and hid stuff
<v Speaker 5>and everything like very very good at that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think this is a game that I'm glad
<v Speaker 2>people are liking so much. It's like, I just think
<v Speaker 2>I said this during that video we made where it's
<v Speaker 2>just not the Rogue Light that I'm in the mood
<v Speaker 2>for in the moment, I was much more into something
<v Speaker 2>like Sectory. But that's like it fed my sickness in
<v Speaker 2>a very specific way for what they're going for here.
<v Speaker 2>I think this is kind of like an ideal version
<v Speaker 2>of this game that they're gonna try to charge as
<v Speaker 2>a full price premium game. You know, Housemark was a
<v Speaker 2>superstartist HD. These are are making it redzigum. They are
<v Speaker 2>making arcade style games, like PlayStation's equivalent to Xbox Live Arcade,
<v Speaker 2>and they were nailing that stuff. That's what they were
<v Speaker 2>going for for years and years and years. So them
<v Speaker 2>to have like slowly morph into being another one of
<v Speaker 2>those PlayStation studios that could do the big serious stories game.
<v Speaker 2>It always felt like weird to me. But they are
<v Speaker 2>making it work here, and I think they're making all
<v Speaker 2>the right choices in terms of building a game that
<v Speaker 2>still feels like an arcadie running gun, bullet hell experience,
<v Speaker 2>experience experience, while also being able to be this thing
<v Speaker 2>that people will be like.
<v Speaker 3>Oh of you.
<v Speaker 2>That that was worth seventy dollars on that. On that note, though,
<v Speaker 2>I'm still not into the story.
<v Speaker 5>I'm not either and say that I think the direction.
<v Speaker 5>I felt the same way with Returnal Like the direction
<v Speaker 5>and everything is very good, but the actual story itself,
<v Speaker 5>I'm not really getting super invest How.
<v Speaker 4>Is it's very familiar stuff?
<v Speaker 3>How is it doled out when it's like, you know
<v Speaker 3>this style of.
<v Speaker 2>Lies where you get done with a run and oh
<v Speaker 2>my god, I'm dead. Bang you're hitting the face with
<v Speaker 2>a big white light and some cool visual aesthetic neat
<v Speaker 2>clips of like the King in Yellow showing up for
<v Speaker 2>a second, and some bed sheets ruffling, and some like
<v Speaker 2>fire exploding in a dead tree, and all that stuff
<v Speaker 2>does a good job of building up the world and
<v Speaker 2>making feel cool. And then you get back to the
<v Speaker 2>home base and there's a handful of NPCs that you
<v Speaker 2>talk to, and again it's it's one of those stories
<v Speaker 2>one of those weird fiction stories where hey, everybody's on
<v Speaker 2>this planet and they're going insane because they're looking at
<v Speaker 2>the planet too much, but you're not because you're the
<v Speaker 2>hero and you just want to complete the mission. And
<v Speaker 2>the mission is to save the people from the previous ship,
<v Speaker 2>the people that you've never met as the player and
<v Speaker 2>don't care about. And then eventually there's one specific person
<v Speaker 2>you're trying to save and you're like, Okay, I've seen
<v Speaker 2>the story a million times and this is not doing
<v Speaker 2>anything new to like get to reinvigorate my spirits and
<v Speaker 2>toward it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's very the Yeah carkos O King Andielle like
<v Speaker 5>the True Detective Season one stuff.
<v Speaker 2>Yes on that imagery and it does it does a
<v Speaker 2>good job playing in that space visually and in terms
<v Speaker 2>of tone, just the specifics of the plot and the
<v Speaker 2>characterization of Rahukoley's character. I think he does a great job.
<v Speaker 2>He's he is like leading man material. It's awesome to
<v Speaker 2>look at. He's a cool looking dude doing cool looking
<v Speaker 2>dude stuff. And then you know he's got he's got
<v Speaker 2>to talk and the stuff, the material they give him
<v Speaker 2>is very just like, I just need to complete the mission.
<v Speaker 4>Bullet hell listen, uh, I know Eternal like went through
<v Speaker 4>some sort of uh went through like updates, like like
<v Speaker 4>pretty meaningful stuff like the tower. I mean even like
<v Speaker 4>how with like people because people can save the runway, right,
<v Speaker 4>there's like a saving home right, right? Do you think
<v Speaker 4>there's runway for for some of some of the not
<v Speaker 4>course correction stuff, but but like meaningful updates with this
<v Speaker 4>game sort of a lifeline.
<v Speaker 2>I think I think this time around that they would
<v Speaker 2>take that energy and just continue to make the game bigger,
<v Speaker 2>because I think they've nailed what they're going for here
<v Speaker 2>and all of the you know the thing with returnal
<v Speaker 2>and not being able to save. It's like, are people
<v Speaker 2>going to be cool with this? This is the game
<v Speaker 2>we're trying to make here. These are runs and things
<v Speaker 2>are supposed to feel ephemeral and like you can lose them,
<v Speaker 2>and everyone's like, we'll meet you halfway. Can you give
<v Speaker 2>us some way to like walk away and go take
<v Speaker 2>care of our kids during dan or something like that.
<v Speaker 2>This time around, they've like they know all those pitfalls,
<v Speaker 2>and you could tell that they have built a game
<v Speaker 2>that structurally can just hold itself up in all these
<v Speaker 2>different instances for all these different kinds of players.
<v Speaker 4>So I think it's sad this.
<v Speaker 2>Time around that they would anything they might do would
<v Speaker 2>be like, oh they I guess they could improve the
<v Speaker 2>story with a story drop DLC. I could instantly see
<v Speaker 2>or easily imagine that happening, but I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>Because it's a game that's already full priced.
<v Speaker 2>And people are showing up for it, I think they
<v Speaker 2>probably put everything they can into it.
<v Speaker 4>We'll see what they have in terms of updates, though.
<v Speaker 1>Lovely fantastic speaking about games that a lot of people
<v Speaker 1>definitely like, but I'm curious to see how this person
<v Speaker 1>feels about it. Mike Minatti, you've been playing through Resident
<v Speaker 1>Evil three Nemesis.
<v Speaker 3>That's right, this would be the o G Resident Evil three,
<v Speaker 3>specifically the technically a port of the original well came out,
<v Speaker 3>but the original.
<v Speaker 2>As supposed to the remake. Wow.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, go make a girl cheese. I wish I could, Mike, Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>we all list that. Yeah, you know, I've been kind
<v Speaker 3>of catching up with the resivls. I haven't played yet.
<v Speaker 3>I played the original Resivil two last weekend. This time
<v Speaker 3>made sense to do Nemesis, and I just so happened
<v Speaker 3>to own this GameCube version, and I was curious just
<v Speaker 3>like how the GameCube versions of these games feel compared
<v Speaker 3>to the places one. They actually do have a more
<v Speaker 3>noticeable like visual upgrade than I was expecting, Like the
<v Speaker 3>resolutions a bit nicer. Obviously, the character models are a
<v Speaker 3>little smoother, maybe even better models, because I think there
<v Speaker 3>was you know, a PC or Dreamcast port as well
<v Speaker 3>where they originally first kind of spruced up the model.
<v Speaker 5>So this game, Mike, I was surprised. I tuned in
<v Speaker 5>a little bit when you were playing. I was like, Okay,
<v Speaker 5>surely this is like, oh, maybe he's playing the game
<v Speaker 5>Q one. Oh maybe this is going through Dolphin or
<v Speaker 5>something like that, and you were like, no, this is
<v Speaker 5>going through retro tank.
<v Speaker 6>This is on a GameCube. Like it looked a lot
<v Speaker 6>better than I expected.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's because at the time I remember the uh
<v Speaker 3>because you know, GameCube got Resue one remake as an exclusive,
<v Speaker 3>and then Resuvil four zero were like initially exclusives as well,
<v Speaker 3>but then they just pourted two three and Codeveronica. I
<v Speaker 3>remember at the time those were looked at kind of
<v Speaker 3>like derisively, like, oh, these are cheaper. I can't remember
<v Speaker 3>if they were charging full price for them, but people
<v Speaker 3>weren't impressed then, and now I'm like, that's super.
<v Speaker 2>Neat that they did that.
<v Speaker 3>Actually, I think that's I wish we had more just
<v Speaker 3>kind of slightly upgraded ports of PS one games on
<v Speaker 3>the GameCube and Sophie people bought those back then that
<v Speaker 3>they're very expensive and hard to get. Now, like just
<v Speaker 3>recently the prices went up quite a bit. I was, look, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I got this one long enough ago that it wasn't
<v Speaker 3>too too bad. It was a little weird with the
<v Speaker 3>GameCube controller, just because, like take controls of an analog
<v Speaker 3>stick takes some getting used to, and the deep pad
<v Speaker 3>sucks on the game control, so you don't want to
<v Speaker 3>use that, But I eventually got used to all of that.
<v Speaker 3>The game was controlling just f it was looking really
<v Speaker 3>nice and I was having a good time. I definitely
<v Speaker 3>did not like it anywhere near as much as I.
<v Speaker 2>Liked OG two.
<v Speaker 3>You don't have you don't have like that strong central
<v Speaker 3>location except you know, I guess they're trying to make
<v Speaker 3>the streets of Raccoon City that and that works okay,
<v Speaker 3>but it means it's a lot of like roads and
<v Speaker 3>they're sort of narrow and there's too many enemies and
<v Speaker 3>it's kind of sometimes difficult to dodge them or shoot them. Uh,
<v Speaker 3>they're you know, you go into the RPD for a moment,
<v Speaker 3>there's other sequences like the clock tower. It's like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>these are like little mini areas and that it's feeling
<v Speaker 3>pretty good. The boss fights are driving me insane. This
<v Speaker 3>game was put giving you boss fights that should not
<v Speaker 3>be in a game with ten controls. And I defend
<v Speaker 3>tank controls, but they want you to fight Nemesis and
<v Speaker 3>you know, just with them because he's running around like
<v Speaker 3>Sonic the Hedgehog, and he has a ranged attack. He
<v Speaker 3>don't have to control, he don't have to take controls
<v Speaker 3>like it's and most of the times the fights turn
<v Speaker 3>out they have a gimmick, and it's like, all right,
<v Speaker 3>so what what is the gimmick here?
<v Speaker 2>This time?
<v Speaker 3>I have to avoid this worm for two minutes until
<v Speaker 3>the earthquake happens, and then these electrical poles get loosened
<v Speaker 3>and then I could shoot them into this lake and
<v Speaker 3>lure the lure of the worm over there. Of course,
<v Speaker 3>the first time you're just shining the fucking worm. Then
<v Speaker 3>you realize, oh, well, that's not right, I gotta die
<v Speaker 3>and restart because I just wasted all that, Ammo. But
<v Speaker 3>like every once in a while, it's like, now it
<v Speaker 3>turns out you are just in a fight, so bring
<v Speaker 3>three healing items in you know, fifty shotgun shells and
<v Speaker 3>and kind of good luck. But like Resivil two, in
<v Speaker 3>Resivol one, maybe you can say the boss fights aren't
<v Speaker 3>that interesting because it is mostly just, hey, bring your
<v Speaker 3>magna mammo or your grenade launcher and kind of stand
<v Speaker 3>your ground, maybe run around a little bit. But they
<v Speaker 3>work for that kind of game. This is trying to
<v Speaker 3>be more ambitious, and I think internally they justified it
<v Speaker 3>because they added a dodge button in this one. But
<v Speaker 3>the dodge works by pushing the same buttons that you
<v Speaker 3>push to shoot.
<v Speaker 1>So.
<v Speaker 5>Right that like I feel like with the Nemesis stuff,
<v Speaker 5>I remember rinting it back in the day, and like
<v Speaker 5>I thought, he would like break through a wall and
<v Speaker 5>then like it would like fade to kind of like white,
<v Speaker 5>and it'd be like, what do you want to do
<v Speaker 5>A or B? Doesn't it do something like that?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, So there's like that's like one of the other
<v Speaker 3>things that're really proud of is a new feature it's
<v Speaker 3>like there's these moments where it's like are you gonna
<v Speaker 3>do this?
<v Speaker 2>Are you gonna do that?
<v Speaker 3>And like I think most of the time it kind
<v Speaker 3>of just puts you on a one different path or
<v Speaker 3>the other. There's one time I was in a restaurant,
<v Speaker 3>like Nemesis showed up, like are you gonna go in
<v Speaker 3>the basement or you're gonna stay in your ground fight.
<v Speaker 3>I was like, I guess I'll go in the basement.
<v Speaker 3>Then I went down there and there's something down there
<v Speaker 3>and it's like, oh, that was just wrong. So then
<v Speaker 3>I go back up and he immediately kills me. I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>all right, I guess I got the wrong flip of
<v Speaker 3>the point there on that one, right, So oh wow.
<v Speaker 3>And then like you know something, he's at you. You're
<v Speaker 3>shooting him, and you're trying to shoot him, but then
<v Speaker 3>you accidentally dodge because he happens to attack you, and
<v Speaker 3>whenever you want a dodge, that's not gonna happen that
<v Speaker 3>then the dodge will never work and you'll just stand
<v Speaker 3>there and kind of kind of take it. So and like,
<v Speaker 3>in general, just a much harder game than two was,
<v Speaker 3>and some of it is like it's meant to be harder.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe a lot of people think two is too easy,
<v Speaker 3>so I could see maybe they're course correcting there, but
<v Speaker 3>also just sort of frustrating. But still it's classic Resident Evil.
<v Speaker 3>Jill Valentine is cool. I still love gosh the pre
<v Speaker 3>rendered backgrounds, the nemes of stuff is cool. This is
<v Speaker 3>the first time we had the lurker or like the
<v Speaker 3>stalker enemy in those moments where you are just like
<v Speaker 3>running away from him and he might show up like that,
<v Speaker 3>there's still tension there and that feels that feels nice. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I had a good time with it. I don't think
<v Speaker 3>I think it's definitely the weakest of those the PS
<v Speaker 3>one trilogy for sure.
<v Speaker 4>So would you say that.
<v Speaker 2>Any of the remikes are worse any of the remix
<v Speaker 2>are better at this point because now you've played all
<v Speaker 2>the ones that have originals and remix right, can break
<v Speaker 2>that down for me how you feel about it.
<v Speaker 3>It's funny because I think I think on all every case,
<v Speaker 3>I still like the remake more, even though like OG
<v Speaker 3>two and to remake, they both have their.
<v Speaker 2>Strengths to make you want them so good.
<v Speaker 3>To play three is weird because the remake is, you know,
<v Speaker 3>I've heard people complain like, oh, they cut this, they
<v Speaker 3>cut that, and I played it, I'm like, yeah, they
<v Speaker 3>it is weird how much that they cut, and I
<v Speaker 3>don't know why they did it. And yet also this game,
<v Speaker 3>which is too short, I do understand.
<v Speaker 2>It's really fun.
<v Speaker 3>It's kind of just a good little romp and it
<v Speaker 3>has great boss fights and it just feels better to play.
<v Speaker 3>So again, it's like, I get why people would prefer
<v Speaker 3>the original there, so it's close. And then like, where
<v Speaker 3>is Evil one? That's a classic? Brazelone remakes one of
<v Speaker 3>the best of all times? Four same thing. I think
<v Speaker 3>it's a case where all the originals are good to
<v Speaker 3>very good, to classics, and then the remakes are just all,
<v Speaker 3>you know, really good, and sometimes in very similar ways,
<v Speaker 3>sometimes in different ways. But it just feels plused up
<v Speaker 3>to me. I don't know if anybody does remakes better
<v Speaker 3>than Resident Evil just that way, I don't think so
<v Speaker 3>the way I think I'm with you, I think I'm
<v Speaker 3>with you.
<v Speaker 1>There a game that I have checked out very briefly,
<v Speaker 1>but it has set parts of the Internet on fire
<v Speaker 1>is Titanium Court. And this is not the simple game
<v Speaker 1>that I thought it was I thought this was just like, oh.
<v Speaker 2>It's easy to explain though, right, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Several lines. On its surface, it is a match three game,
<v Speaker 1>but after that it is so much more. It turns
<v Speaker 1>out because it is kind of a roguelike where if
<v Speaker 1>you fail your if you fail matching three, you start
<v Speaker 1>at the very beginning, but on top of matching three,
<v Speaker 1>depending on the tiles that you match, you're also gathering resources.
<v Speaker 1>So we're gathering food, water, rocks, I forget what they're
<v Speaker 1>actually called in the game. And then from there you
<v Speaker 1>also have to contend with these enemy castles that are
<v Speaker 1>also spawning on the map, but you can match them
<v Speaker 1>away as well. But after you a low tide has
<v Speaker 1>happened because you only have a specific number of turns
<v Speaker 1>to match three gather resources. You then enter a recruiting
<v Speaker 1>phase where it kind of becomes a little bit of
<v Speaker 1>a tower defense, a very light touch RTS I guess
<v Speaker 1>not an arts then where you build units, and then
<v Speaker 1>from there your units are either gathering more supplies or
<v Speaker 1>defending your base or attacking the enemy castles. And that's
<v Speaker 1>as far as I am now, But on top of that,
<v Speaker 1>they are doling out a new different mechanic and a
<v Speaker 1>new different thing every level or every little step of progression. Also,
<v Speaker 1>there's a story that is it seems very integral to
<v Speaker 1>the understanding everything that's going on. I think I found
<v Speaker 1>a Shakespeare guys. I think it's a Shakespeare game because
<v Speaker 1>meth h Midsummer Night's Dream, specifically because.
<v Speaker 4>Wow, like what what okay?
<v Speaker 1>And it's it's neat. I like it it is. You know,
<v Speaker 1>it's very difficult to be funny in a video game.
<v Speaker 1>Not a lot of games do not nail it, or
<v Speaker 1>the tone just doesn't mesh with everyone. But I've been
<v Speaker 1>enjoying it so far. I can easily see myself losing
<v Speaker 1>a lot of time to this game. An interesting thing though,
<v Speaker 1>that this game does with the match three mechanic is
<v Speaker 1>you have your Titanium court, which is your base. And
<v Speaker 1>normally with a match three game, right if you slide
<v Speaker 1>a tile over and it doesn't complete the three or
<v Speaker 1>match into a sequence with the other tiles, it slides
<v Speaker 1>back into place. But with your Titanium court, you can
<v Speaker 1>use that to swap places with anything and then it
<v Speaker 1>maintains that position. So if you're kind of like one
<v Speaker 1>tile away from getting like a really good match of
<v Speaker 1>like I'd hit like five tiles here if I just
<v Speaker 1>could nudge this other mountain tile two more spaces over.
<v Speaker 3>Does anyone hear that?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? Are they tearing up the ground again?
<v Speaker 4>Take care?
<v Speaker 3>No, that's not me.
<v Speaker 4>I think tearing up your ground.
<v Speaker 3>Oh it's not you. No, not me me? Me? Oh weird?
<v Speaker 3>All right? Someone was sliding into the internet pipes anyway.
<v Speaker 3>I think it was coming for Backlar. I'm just gonna
<v Speaker 3>say it. I think there's a buzzing something Backlar. Is
<v Speaker 3>there roadwork outside?
<v Speaker 4>Not currently?
<v Speaker 2>Are you okay?
<v Speaker 1>Are you morse coding someone right now?
<v Speaker 4>Perhaps? None of your business. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>This Titanium Court game I thought was like taking over
<v Speaker 2>the internet, and it only has two hundred and sixty
<v Speaker 2>four or two hundred and sixty reviews on Steam right now,
<v Speaker 2>I'm still like a little bit of a sleeper right now.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like people are going to keep talking about it.
<v Speaker 2>But like what I understand Jane, is well it people
<v Speaker 2>like resent it or like it does like hey, it's
<v Speaker 2>a rogue light. Once you start playing it, it really
<v Speaker 2>is kind of about seeing what the game can do
<v Speaker 2>and what like, but tearing out, tearing away like the
<v Speaker 2>seams of the game, right, That's what one review I
<v Speaker 2>read said, where it's like, hey, you just want to
<v Speaker 2>go in there and like kind of treat it almost
<v Speaker 2>like a sandbox and come up with an idea and see.
<v Speaker 4>Hey, will this work? Do you have any examples of
<v Speaker 4>like what that would be like or is that something
<v Speaker 4>you're not at yet.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think I'm quite at that point yet. Like
<v Speaker 1>it feels like you are also like building up relationships
<v Speaker 1>or getting to know the people actually in your court,
<v Speaker 1>and then from there you're you're getting to expand the
<v Speaker 1>different buildings within your own castle. Like I just went
<v Speaker 1>to my office for the first time and like it
<v Speaker 1>showed me like a different tower I could be in.
<v Speaker 1>I think Chuck had Yeah, Chuck had discorded me. Titanium
<v Speaker 1>Court is the whimsical twenty twenty sixth version of Blueprints
<v Speaker 1>done as a match three. That is a quote from
<v Speaker 1>Chuck himself. So I think there's a lot more underneath
<v Speaker 1>the surface. I'm definitely gonna try and spend more time
<v Speaker 1>with it, but it this is one of those games
<v Speaker 1>gang I just wish I wish it was out on
<v Speaker 1>the switch. I realized I can put it on my
<v Speaker 1>steam deck one hundred percent. But then you know I'm
<v Speaker 1>already on the switch too, because your boy, your boy
<v Speaker 1>can't stop playing Pokemon. I won't bore y'all with more
<v Speaker 1>of that, but Gang the metas fucked right now. Oh no,
<v Speaker 1>scar Guard Chump is tearing up the ladder.
<v Speaker 3>I can't get out of Ultra Paul. I feel like
<v Speaker 3>a loser anyway.
<v Speaker 1>Uh, speaking about cards and you going to scarf Guard Chump,
<v Speaker 1>I'm trying to make Scarbo fair work there, but it's not.
<v Speaker 6>I'm trying like scars Guard joke.
<v Speaker 2>But sure, okay.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, speaking about losing an obscene amount of time to
<v Speaker 1>a video game, which I've been doing with Pokemon Champions,
<v Speaker 1>Mike Manati, you spent a good chunk of time with
<v Speaker 1>Vampire Crawlers.
<v Speaker 4>I beat it.
<v Speaker 2>I got credits.
<v Speaker 4>Well you beat it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I finished the game because we did a kind
<v Speaker 3>of a little like Live Quick look just GB playing yesterday.
<v Speaker 3>I did that with Chuck It kind of did a
<v Speaker 3>late game run and then just played a couple more
<v Speaker 3>runs after that. I'm like, okay, we're done. I did
<v Speaker 3>definitely get to a point where I bought enough upgrades
<v Speaker 3>and I could do things and figure it out that
<v Speaker 3>I sort of solved the game right, like three loves
<v Speaker 3>before the end, I kind of come up with the
<v Speaker 3>combo of crawlers that I was bringing in. There's a
<v Speaker 3>point where you can bring more than one crawler, and
<v Speaker 3>each crawler kind of has like different passive abilities, and
<v Speaker 3>I basically had three of them. Each time I played
<v Speaker 3>a purple card, which is a card that gives you
<v Speaker 3>man which you need man to play cards. But like
<v Speaker 3>I'm playing those cards, which gives me mana, but also
<v Speaker 3>these other crawlers and their passive effects for making it
<v Speaker 3>like also, you're gonna draw a card, and you're gonna
<v Speaker 3>increase the number of amount of cards you draw each turn,
<v Speaker 3>and you're also gonna increase some many jectiles you use
<v Speaker 3>when you build damage. And so because like I was
<v Speaker 3>drawing cards, I was almost going infinite. Practically, it is
<v Speaker 3>like drawing every card in my deck and then redrawing
<v Speaker 3>those cards. And the game does have a mechanic built
<v Speaker 3>into it where if you draw the same card too
<v Speaker 3>many times in one turn, it starts to crack. And
<v Speaker 3>I was like, what's It's happened? During the streamers and
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, what's this chuck, It's like, oh, yeah, play it.
<v Speaker 3>Then I play it again and it summons the grim Reaper, right,
<v Speaker 3>so that's bad. And then I played another one. It's
<v Speaker 3>somebo of the second grim Reaper, and I had three.
<v Speaker 4>Grim Reapers are helping you?
<v Speaker 3>No, they want to kill me. They knew I broke
<v Speaker 3>the game, but they wanted to be dead. So there's
<v Speaker 3>like beeved still like you could before you get to
<v Speaker 3>that point, you could just go crazy in a single round,
<v Speaker 3>and there's you know, I was able to buy other
<v Speaker 3>permanent upgrades by that point, like re rolls when I
<v Speaker 3>give a choice of cards, to the point where it
<v Speaker 3>was like I know what cards I want. I know
<v Speaker 3>how to build this deck in a way that I'm
<v Speaker 3>probably gonna be indestructible. And you know, I did get
<v Speaker 3>to that point kind of the lesser of the game,
<v Speaker 3>where I was like, all right, I'm starting to the
<v Speaker 3>steam roll up, which itself was a satisfying feeling. I
<v Speaker 3>know there's a lot of people now who think that
<v Speaker 3>roguelikes have gotten two roguelike and that it often feels
<v Speaker 3>like you're mostly just rewarded for sticking with it, and
<v Speaker 3>eventually you kind of will become powerful up. There's a
<v Speaker 3>doubly a bit of that here, but it's really satisfying.
<v Speaker 3>Just the game itself out of cards feels so good,
<v Speaker 3>and also figuring out that combo system where it's like, okay,
<v Speaker 3>so play zero man card to a one man card
<v Speaker 3>to a two manut card. At first it is kind
<v Speaker 3>of that simple, but then you get things like wild cards,
<v Speaker 3>which can reset the combos. You can go zero one
<v Speaker 3>two wild card zero one two, or you can kind
<v Speaker 3>of augment cards that have lower man costs all the
<v Speaker 3>way down to like a negative one.
<v Speaker 2>I can start your combo at negative one where.
<v Speaker 5>You can raise the mane coast to be like, okay,
<v Speaker 5>well now that's going to help me do the one
<v Speaker 5>two three for you know you're right.
<v Speaker 3>So it's like at first it's like okay, like at
<v Speaker 3>times three is pretty good for combo to the end
<v Speaker 3>where I'm having turns where I'm playing like twenty cards
<v Speaker 3>and not dropping the combo, and it feels amazing. Dan,
<v Speaker 3>I know you're a little skeptical on this one at first.
<v Speaker 3>It seems like you've come around a bit at.
<v Speaker 5>First, but like that's what I was gonna say, is
<v Speaker 5>like maybe your first couple runs with this, or it's like, Okay,
<v Speaker 5>I think I see what's going on here. Okay, we're
<v Speaker 5>kind of mapping the Vampire Survivors. It's that I gone
<v Speaker 5>to this kind of basic card game cardbuilder deck builder.
<v Speaker 5>After like one or two runs, you start seeing how
<v Speaker 5>quickly that stream of unlocks happens.
<v Speaker 6>Where it's just like back of the Village.
<v Speaker 5>It feels like every time you beat a run for
<v Speaker 5>the first handful, it's like, now you have this thing.
<v Speaker 5>Now you got the blacksmith where you can do the gyms.
<v Speaker 5>Now you got this upgrade place. Now you got the
<v Speaker 5>bar where you can get different crawlers and stuff. Like
<v Speaker 5>you just constantly at each run. It's like here's ten
<v Speaker 5>different things, new cards, new features and everything, and you're
<v Speaker 5>unlocking stuff. It's got that same giant unlocked list that
<v Speaker 5>like Vampire Survivors had, so it very quickly ramps up,
<v Speaker 5>and like I do like that, like as I'm playing
<v Speaker 5>a lot of Slaves Spire too right now too, it
<v Speaker 5>doesn't feel like I'm playing two similar games concurrently. It's
<v Speaker 5>they're both deck builders and card games, but like Slayest
<v Speaker 5>Fire two is one where I'm kind of pouring over
<v Speaker 5>every effect in Buff and d Buff, and I'm really
<v Speaker 5>kind of thinking out every turn. Vampire Crawlers is not
<v Speaker 5>on autopilot, but it's it's like cruise control. You gotta
<v Speaker 5>you know, keep your hands on the wheel. But it's
<v Speaker 5>like it's a smoother, kind of easier deck builder experience,
<v Speaker 5>and just like moving around the actual levels themselves is fun,
<v Speaker 5>just kind of like you know, breaking all the torches
<v Speaker 5>and stuff, getting the bonuses, evolving weapons like you wouldn't
<v Speaker 5>Vampire Survivors, and getting more.
<v Speaker 3>Powerful the upgrade you find just as you're playing through too,
<v Speaker 3>and like there is that element of like, oh when
<v Speaker 3>am I going to get even though again I definitely
<v Speaker 3>got to a point where I can sort of force
<v Speaker 3>myself to get the things that I needed to get.
<v Speaker 1>I normally don't like this style of like dungeon crawler
<v Speaker 1>games per se, like Attrian Odyssey, I think is one.
<v Speaker 1>There's like a persona dungeon crawler.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, the dungeon crawler aspect here is pretty secondary. It's
<v Speaker 3>it's almost more of an aesthetic than the game play.
<v Speaker 3>The gameplay is definitely car it's it's a it's a
<v Speaker 3>deck builder, that's the real game. But this moves.
<v Speaker 1>It's such a rapid clip that I feel like it
<v Speaker 1>takes away like my misgivings about that style of RPG
<v Speaker 1>dungeon crawler. And also, folks should definitely check out the
<v Speaker 1>quick Look Live that Mikey and Chuck did yesterday because
<v Speaker 1>if you missed the particle effects and the visual dopamine
<v Speaker 1>of Oh the Sorry Survivors, I feel like it's times
<v Speaker 1>two here.
<v Speaker 6>It's like I was back in Vegas.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely, And you know, you know I've
<v Speaker 3>said before I always liked Vampire Survivors, just not as
<v Speaker 3>much as like a Dan or Jeff did. This was
<v Speaker 3>just a bit more my speed. And this was the
<v Speaker 3>one where I mean, you know, like, how long is
<v Speaker 3>the game been?
<v Speaker 2>Now?
<v Speaker 3>Was it? It feels like it's not just a weak
<v Speaker 3>or two and I just blaze through like that twenty
<v Speaker 3>six hours. It's according to Steam to get to those creits. God,
<v Speaker 3>look at it right now. My brother Chris is playing Chris,
<v Speaker 3>aren't you at work?
<v Speaker 4>My goodness?
<v Speaker 3>Playing video games at work?
<v Speaker 2>Can you imagine?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah? Yeah, it's very it's really good. I'm all for
<v Speaker 3>them just kind of continuing to use these sort of
<v Speaker 3>characters and sprites and abilities like, let's let's see the
<v Speaker 3>match three vampire game right, really hard. Oh, give me
<v Speaker 3>the cart, give me the cart racer, let's go, let's
<v Speaker 3>do it all vampire cart, Vampire drifters.
<v Speaker 2>Oh I what this? This wouldn't work, This couldn't work.
<v Speaker 2>But what if they did a metrade vena with these characters.
<v Speaker 3>You're silly, you're so sim sorry, they should do a mistike.
<v Speaker 2>Oh, Empire, it's just pictures. It's just JPEGs.
<v Speaker 1>Solve a puzzle, garlic explodes and everything. Great, great, great?
<v Speaker 1>Uh gang, what a week for video games. A bunch
<v Speaker 1>of stuff is coming out.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>But we're gonna go take a quick bricky break and
<v Speaker 1>we will be back with the news right after this.
<v Speaker 3>This is Jeff Grubb.
<v Speaker 4>Jeff Grub, Yeah, I have news.
<v Speaker 2>Let's do it. Let's start here with the weird one
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation digital DRM scare. Happened over the weekend and now
<v Speaker 2>it seems like it's continuing to happen.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Players and preservation focused accounts reported that newly purchased digital
<v Speaker 2>PS four slash PS five games may now require a
<v Speaker 2>thirty day online license check. So he has not publicly
<v Speaker 2>clarified whether this is an intentional drm a bug or
<v Speaker 2>a rollout mistake. VGC says that spawn Wave, a YouTuber,
<v Speaker 2>tested multiple games as part of the broader verification wave,
<v Speaker 2>while push Square says evidence is mounting but urges and
<v Speaker 2>urges caution excuse me until Sony comments. Katucky did kind
<v Speaker 2>of continue to follow up on it and said that
<v Speaker 2>they talk to people who talked to support and got
<v Speaker 2>different answers. One said that there is a thirty day timer,
<v Speaker 2>and then there was concerns that that support account was
<v Speaker 2>just an AI generated response, so who knows if that's
<v Speaker 2>telling the truth. Fun cool thing to have happened. And
<v Speaker 2>then another person for the support team said there is
<v Speaker 2>no thirty day check. So the point is no one
<v Speaker 2>still seems to know what's going on here. Now this
<v Speaker 2>thirty day check, as a reminder, is this thing where
<v Speaker 2>you buy a digital game. When you buy it, it's
<v Speaker 2>all good, it's on your system, and then if you
<v Speaker 2>don't like connect to the internet again, well that's fine
<v Speaker 2>as long as it is this is your home PlayStation
<v Speaker 2>five or home PlayStation four and you want to play
<v Speaker 2>that game you're lugged into your account. Shouldn't be a
<v Speaker 2>problem unless and now this is true, in which case,
<v Speaker 2>if you take it offline and don't check in within
<v Speaker 2>thirty days, you're going to.
<v Speaker 4>Lose access to that game.
<v Speaker 2>This is a little bit counter to the way that
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation positioned a PS four way back in the day
<v Speaker 2>versus the Xbox series, xer the Xbox One ex excuse me,
<v Speaker 2>in the Xbox one one at the time, where it's say, hey,
<v Speaker 2>we are going to have all these online check features
<v Speaker 2>and all this DRM and isn't that great in PlayStations like, well,
<v Speaker 2>we're not because we're for the gamers. A little bit
<v Speaker 2>of a backstep here potentially, although again we just don't
<v Speaker 2>know if this is some bug or not, but it
<v Speaker 2>is again people take.
<v Speaker 3>It tell us if it was right, like, and they
<v Speaker 3>have not said anything yet from for the gamers to fuck.
<v Speaker 2>The gamers apparently or player whatever they want to call them.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, uh, it's just bizarre. As again, if this
<v Speaker 3>is just some error, you know, fix it or tell
<v Speaker 3>us it's an error. The fact that they're not is concerning.
<v Speaker 4>Like why do this?
<v Speaker 3>How? How how does this move the needle that much?
<v Speaker 3>For them? It just is annoying. It's just a bad look.
<v Speaker 3>It's really obnoxious and stupid.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know, I could see one way it could
<v Speaker 2>be a bug. If it's the same check that happens
<v Speaker 2>on PlayStation Plus instant library games. You know, you have
<v Speaker 2>to have a PlayStation Plus account keep those things active
<v Speaker 2>to have them actually be in your library and functioning, right,
<v Speaker 2>So they have that there already. Maybe that got universally applied.
<v Speaker 2>Why that would be the case, who knows, But yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I could see that happening. Again, they have not said
<v Speaker 2>one word one way or the other, so everyone's sort
<v Speaker 2>of just like waiting in limbo to find out how
<v Speaker 2>PlayStation's going to address this and whether they're going to
<v Speaker 2>fix it.
<v Speaker 4>I could also see, like, you know, not that I'm
<v Speaker 4>inventing excuses for them, but I could definitely see them
<v Speaker 4>being so fragmented that they are like not in sync
<v Speaker 4>on what this is as a corporation right right.
<v Speaker 3>They might be having like a bunch of zoom meetings
<v Speaker 3>right now trying to figure trying to figure out what
<v Speaker 3>this is and what's happening and if it meant to
<v Speaker 3>happen or not exactly.
<v Speaker 1>Grub theoretically based off of if this is true, if
<v Speaker 1>I were to, like, I don't know, cash in a
<v Speaker 1>game code and I redeem it, but I don't actually
<v Speaker 1>like turn on my PS five to claim it and
<v Speaker 1>download it. I would lose access to that game.
<v Speaker 2>I mean it. Once you log back in online and reconnect,
<v Speaker 2>you would get another another thirty days of an unfettered
<v Speaker 2>access that That's the point though, is you'd have to
<v Speaker 2>check in. So if you're in some situation where you
<v Speaker 2>can't do that for more than thirty days, you're gonna
<v Speaker 2>lose your games for that time. Or if the servers
<v Speaker 2>ever go down, anything that is that is functioning this
<v Speaker 2>way would stop working. You know, these are edge case scenarios,
<v Speaker 2>but these are the exact things people have been worried
<v Speaker 2>about this whole time. And there was that moment in
<v Speaker 2>time where Sony's like, no, we hear you, and we're
<v Speaker 2>we're not going to.
<v Speaker 4>Do stuff like this.
<v Speaker 2>And now it feels like, oh, do they not care
<v Speaker 2>about that anymore? Because they've won the battle. They've won
<v Speaker 2>the battle versus Xbox, they've won the battle in digital
<v Speaker 2>versus physical. You know, the next play the PlayStation six
<v Speaker 2>who knows of that thing launches with a disk drive,
<v Speaker 2>So do they care to continue like keeping up the
<v Speaker 2>appearances on that stuff anymore, And it seems like there's
<v Speaker 2>a possibility that the answer to that question is no.
<v Speaker 2>At the very least, it seems less important to them
<v Speaker 2>because they don't have a like the face of the
<v Speaker 2>company rushing out there to make a video like like
<v Speaker 2>Adam Boyce did with Shoe Hey Yoshida or whoever was
<v Speaker 2>in that video where it's like, hey, look you can
<v Speaker 2>just borrow games. There was a team like a response
<v Speaker 2>team ready to go to hit home that they understood
<v Speaker 2>the concerns gamers. That's not happening in this moment. So
<v Speaker 2>that's that's the weirdness here. Uh, Like, do you think
<v Speaker 2>that they could bring this stuff back and people would
<v Speaker 2>like kind of throw a stink but they could still
<v Speaker 2>get away with it this time? Or is this a
<v Speaker 2>third rail issue like it was during the Xbox.
<v Speaker 3>I unfortunately think they can get away.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah this time. I hate the thing, but.
<v Speaker 3>I think they can and I think they probably will.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, Greg, when we were talking about this yesterday during
<v Speaker 1>Gamess Mornings, I did see someone say, well, this is
<v Speaker 1>what happens when one company like technically wins the race. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>where like you're in PlayStation and Nintendo's just so far
<v Speaker 1>removed in their own lane that like Xbox just is
<v Speaker 1>not a competitor kind of at this point for them.
<v Speaker 2>Yep, exactly, all right. That Steam controller did launch one
<v Speaker 2>hundred dollars. We talked about it, but it's going to
<v Speaker 2>go up for ordering for pre order. Really, you could
<v Speaker 2>just buy it that day and it'll ship right away.
<v Speaker 2>May fourth is when that begins. You can add it
<v Speaker 2>to your cart now, but you won't be able to
<v Speaker 2>check out with it until May fourth, is my understanding
<v Speaker 2>at least, I think that's the way it is in
<v Speaker 2>most of the world. It's you know, more expensive in
<v Speaker 2>other parts, like it's you one hundred and fifty Canadian dollars,
<v Speaker 2>it's it is a lot of money. But I think
<v Speaker 2>the early word now is this controller is going to
<v Speaker 2>sell very well and people are excited about it. So
<v Speaker 2>if you want to get one, I would probably show
<v Speaker 2>up and try to secure one first thing, because it
<v Speaker 2>could easily sell out.
<v Speaker 4>We'll have to wait and see.
<v Speaker 3>Mother's Day is later that week, so get your mother.
<v Speaker 2>Controller asking for Yeah, absolutely.
<v Speaker 4>What a weird gift.
<v Speaker 3>You don't want it, I guess I'll take it. Sorry,
<v Speaker 3>I'll take it back. It's a Homer bowling ball, I
<v Speaker 3>get it, yes, very They did.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of interviews as part of launching the steam Controller,
<v Speaker 2>and they talked a little bit about the steam Deck
<v Speaker 2>two and the other steam hardware. The steam Deck two
<v Speaker 2>continues to be in development, and they keep saying the
<v Speaker 2>thing where they're like, hey, we're gonna wait until we
<v Speaker 2>have a meaningful upgrade over the steam Deck two, so
<v Speaker 2>there's no new timeline there. And then the supply for
<v Speaker 2>the current steam deck, they're like, hey, yeah, we're still
<v Speaker 2>working to fix that because it's been in low supply,
<v Speaker 2>especially in the United States where RAM shortages, memories storage shortages,
<v Speaker 2>and then tariffs on top of that have made it
<v Speaker 2>kind of a tough business.
<v Speaker 4>To be in in the moment.
<v Speaker 2>But they say that they're working to address that. And
<v Speaker 2>then of course there is the other steam hardware, the
<v Speaker 2>steam machine and the steam frame that is also continuing
<v Speaker 2>to be up in the air, although they said there's
<v Speaker 2>movement happening on that side of things. So while they're
<v Speaker 2>launching the steam Controller now, it's probably not like months
<v Speaker 2>and months before we hear about the steam machine and
<v Speaker 2>steam frame, but it's also probably not going to happen
<v Speaker 2>in the next week or so, So I don't know
<v Speaker 2>where are your guys's temperatures with the in regards to
<v Speaker 2>the Steam Machine and the Steam Frame. I know we
<v Speaker 2>were all pretty excited early on for the most part.
<v Speaker 2>Has that cooled off as reality is set in on
<v Speaker 2>what these things are going to cost? Oh for sure?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I definitely need to see more about that.
<v Speaker 3>I want to see what the cost is. What I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you know, and I'm in a war where I have
<v Speaker 3>a very good gaming PC right now anyway, so like
<v Speaker 3>this probably is like Wow, new new hardware from Valve.
<v Speaker 3>That's exciting, And then I think to myself, how would
<v Speaker 3>I actually justify why I would need this thing? And
<v Speaker 3>I struggle to really think it personally.
<v Speaker 1>I also think priorities have kind of shifted since like
<v Speaker 1>that point in time and where I am in the universe,
<v Speaker 1>since when like Dan and I checked out originally because
<v Speaker 1>you know, super hot coming out of it, but then
<v Speaker 1>life continues.
<v Speaker 5>To have I'm still super out on the Steam Machine
<v Speaker 5>just because it's like I love playing piece of games
<v Speaker 5>on my TV, like I was saying.
<v Speaker 6>Earlier, but like just works when you hook up a
<v Speaker 6>laptop to it.
<v Speaker 5>But there's just dumb bullshit where it's like, oh, now
<v Speaker 5>there's a Windows update, and now if.
<v Speaker 2>I shut the laptop lid, I just can't see anything
<v Speaker 2>on the TV.
<v Speaker 5>And like, there's just a bunch of horseshit that if
<v Speaker 5>it was just a Steam OS and it was just
<v Speaker 5>playing my Steam games and that's what that box under
<v Speaker 5>my TV does and I use the Steam Controller, I
<v Speaker 5>think it would just be a much more streamlined operation.
<v Speaker 5>So I'm still very very excited for the Steam Machine.
<v Speaker 5>But I understand, well, that's.
<v Speaker 4>The that's the target audience, right, So people who are
<v Speaker 4>just like have no appetite for tinkering, right and just
<v Speaker 4>uh want to work, don't get it. That's why Apple
<v Speaker 4>is a company, right, I get it. So yeah, I
<v Speaker 4>think that makes sense. I do think it is going
<v Speaker 4>to be a very difficult threading of the needle where
<v Speaker 4>you're like, oh, this thing offered at a premium. I
<v Speaker 4>just think it's gonna really have to be a tough
<v Speaker 4>sort of overlap, like who can who's in the market
<v Speaker 4>for something like this, the cost that it is, you know,
<v Speaker 4>inevitably going to be, and just how sort of sticker
<v Speaker 4>shocking that might be. I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I'm I'm using my Steam controller to navigate the news
<v Speaker 2>right now.
<v Speaker 4>Guys, Hell yeah, wow.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, Wolverine news is still promised for spring. You might
<v Speaker 2>remember that there was questions last year but hey, when
<v Speaker 2>are you guys going to talk about it? And they
<v Speaker 2>said spring, And then there was a PlayStation State of
<v Speaker 2>Play not too long ago, and there was rumors that
<v Speaker 2>could be in there and they're like, no, we're going
<v Speaker 2>to talk about it in spring, but not not here.
<v Speaker 2>And it's like, okay, so like April ish, maybe maybe May,
<v Speaker 2>and it's like, yeah, that still seems to be the case,
<v Speaker 2>probably some time in May, because April's basically already over.
<v Speaker 2>They yeah, they're they're gonna have to start talking about
<v Speaker 2>this thing, but they all, they don't have to come
<v Speaker 2>out with even a release date yet. They could maybe
<v Speaker 2>give a release a month that they wanted to. If
<v Speaker 2>they just came back out with a gameplay trailer for
<v Speaker 2>this thing and reminded everybody, yeah, this is the big
<v Speaker 2>game this year. I think that would go a long way.
<v Speaker 2>What do you guys think, like, for sure, state though?
<v Speaker 3>For sure, I mean, you're right, they don't have to,
<v Speaker 3>but I mean we're getting we're getting to that point
<v Speaker 3>where We're almost through half of the year here, so yeah, true.
<v Speaker 3>If you're showing your games and not it it's coming
<v Speaker 3>out year and not giving me a release date, I'm
<v Speaker 3>gonna start getting a little worried about it's this year potential.
<v Speaker 1>How much do you think the actual movie Marvel movies
<v Speaker 1>play into trying to nail down a release date for
<v Speaker 1>this Wolverine game?
<v Speaker 2>I mean can't be much, that's right, That difficult?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, let mean yeah, exactly timing things and what I mean.
<v Speaker 3>The only Marvel movie this year is gonna be the
<v Speaker 3>Spider Man thing, right, there's something forgetting about.
<v Speaker 2>Is Doomsday this year?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>Oh geez? Is okay? So there's that.
<v Speaker 3>I suppose that Wolverine is or isn't showing up in
<v Speaker 3>that one. I don't know, who knows?
<v Speaker 1>I mean anymore, the rest of the X Men are
<v Speaker 1>supposed to be in there, like from the Fox Cinematic.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, we gotta get those the pop uh yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>mean either if that comes out this year, this game
<v Speaker 3>would come out around that time anyway.
<v Speaker 2>So that's fine, all right, let's keep going here. Elimination's
<v Speaker 2>next movie from Nintendo is coming in twenty twenty eight.
<v Speaker 4>Uh, there's wrote.
<v Speaker 2>I read this on Gizmoto Universal Spain's upcoming slate lists
<v Speaker 2>in untitled Illumination Slash Nintendo event film for April twelfth,
<v Speaker 2>twenty twenty eight. The article argues that this is probably
<v Speaker 2>not the next mainline Mario.
<v Speaker 4>No idea.
<v Speaker 2>I didn't mean to say that the main Mario sequel,
<v Speaker 2>because they turnaround would be very fast after the Super
<v Speaker 2>Mario Galaxy movie, and because Nintendo Slash Illumination may be
<v Speaker 2>expanded beyond the Mushroom Kingdom. So then the question is
<v Speaker 2>what would it be. It's probably that Donkey Kong movie
<v Speaker 2>that was always rumored. We still have not had confirmed,
<v Speaker 2>but it could be Star Fox, could be any number
<v Speaker 2>of things. It's probably Donkey Kong, though, I think, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>go ahead.
<v Speaker 3>Luigi's Mansion maybe.
<v Speaker 2>I think you know that's possible as well.
<v Speaker 6>I think should make a hard rated R Luigi's Mansion.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, heredits are.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, exactly, Yes, Topless ghosts rest.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, okay, Mikey the Poulter Gust three thousands gonna suck
<v Speaker 2>in this one, guys.
<v Speaker 4>I think that we.
<v Speaker 2>Are probably in store for a lot of stuff that's
<v Speaker 2>gonna stay pretty close to that Mario core. I think
<v Speaker 2>opportunity cost because if they were gonna spend all this
<v Speaker 2>time and money to make one of these things, they're
<v Speaker 2>probably gonna want something that's gonna have the shine of
<v Speaker 2>the Mario movies.
<v Speaker 4>That's the safest thing.
<v Speaker 2>But then we get the reports that hey, the Universal
<v Speaker 2>which owns illumination right and Sony are fighting over the
<v Speaker 2>rights for Metroid, that Nintendo shopping those around. In those
<v Speaker 2>two companies, Universal on Sony are both trying to make
<v Speaker 2>Metroid happen in their camps, so there is appetite to
<v Speaker 2>get far afield for Mario. I just think early on
<v Speaker 2>we're probably sticking pretty close. So I think it's probably
<v Speaker 2>that Donkey Kong movie. I don't know, and both for
<v Speaker 2>Universe on Sony when it comes to the Metroid movie,
<v Speaker 2>they both say that they're interested in doing live action.
<v Speaker 3>That oh both both places?
<v Speaker 2>Yes, okay, yes, what do you guys make of that?
<v Speaker 3>I mean part of me wish as we could see
<v Speaker 3>what Sony does with the ze A movie first, right,
<v Speaker 3>Like I'm feeling pretty good about right now for some reason,
<v Speaker 3>Like the vibes are surprisingly nice on that Zelda movie, right,
<v Speaker 3>Just I don't know, just the set photos. Just honestly,
<v Speaker 3>that art on the Clapper that we saw was pretty good.
<v Speaker 6>On the clapper.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's some art on the clapper looked like Princess
<v Speaker 2>Link and I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I thought maybe I'm mixing it, but I heard, like,
<v Speaker 3>you know, they wrap filming and they're like the work
<v Speaker 3>coming out from that is like they were feeling pretty good.
<v Speaker 4>Art on the clapper.
<v Speaker 2>Mommy on it.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's for the movie, but I could tell it
<v Speaker 5>Zelda Blue Harvest.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yes, yes, they can't fool you.
<v Speaker 2>Dan Man.
<v Speaker 6>It's got a Triforce and Link on it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, see, I would like to see it. I
<v Speaker 3>don't know, Uh, I'm just I'd be happy to see
<v Speaker 3>a Metro. That's an that's kind of in the realm
<v Speaker 3>of BioShock in Metal Gear movies where we've been hearing
<v Speaker 3>about Metroid movies.
<v Speaker 2>Like this.
<v Speaker 3>But but because of all the Nintendo stuff happening where
<v Speaker 3>you know, if somebody said we're making one now, I
<v Speaker 3>would take them seriously.
<v Speaker 1>I think I would prefer for it to not go
<v Speaker 1>to Sony. And I know Sony has made a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of good bunches, maybe too much, a couple of good films,
<v Speaker 1>but They're also responsible for Craven and Morbius.
<v Speaker 3>So right, I.
<v Speaker 2>Think Aria Rod and Avia Rod like be involved in this.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, maybelved in Zelda.
<v Speaker 2>I think they are.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, right, yucky. I mean it's always a dice roll
<v Speaker 3>with these things, honestly, Honestly, I don't know if it
<v Speaker 3>really matters if it goes to Sonny your universal.
<v Speaker 6>You've detroyed to Bowie's kid, the one that made Moon.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, Warcraft, Yeah, he made World of Warcraft. Yeah movie, Okay,
<v Speaker 4>who is fine? I got to go to the premiere
<v Speaker 4>of it at the.
<v Speaker 2>Source Code one of his other movies is one of
<v Speaker 2>my favorites. I love so oh my god.
<v Speaker 4>I remember that.
<v Speaker 6>Yeah, I'm thinking a time Code that was all at
<v Speaker 6>the same time.
<v Speaker 2>Source Code. Source Code is the one with Jake John
<v Speaker 2>Hall on the train and he's he's like a soldier
<v Speaker 2>that's been like they're using his brain to like explore
<v Speaker 2>these simulated realities or are they are?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we should be invited to more films, and yeah.
<v Speaker 4>It's true. I don't think DK's got the juice to
<v Speaker 4>carry a feature. I'll say it.
<v Speaker 6>I just wait till, well, wait till you see Mike stream.
<v Speaker 4>That's not I'm talking, but I don't forget.
<v Speaker 3>We're getting seth Rogan DK right.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I think that they my prasition stands. I think
<v Speaker 4>I just think, like, yeah, I don't know. Certainly they
<v Speaker 4>can't expect whatever offshoot to match the success of the
<v Speaker 4>main thing.
<v Speaker 2>You've never seen the Crystal coca do That's yeah? Different
<v Speaker 2>for the Crystal code at Dan's house three times in
<v Speaker 2>a row.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, God, you didn't see the part where they have
<v Speaker 3>a flashback to something that hadn't happened yet in the movie.
<v Speaker 2>My brain broke when that happened. I was so bad.
<v Speaker 2>I was so badn ow dare they fuck? I mean,
<v Speaker 2>it's one thing if it does, if it hasn't happened,
<v Speaker 2>it's like, okay, this is a flash.
<v Speaker 4>But then when it does.
<v Speaker 6>Happen, Yeah, it happens later in that movie.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, happens later.
<v Speaker 5>That's that's like sepiotone the first time. Remember when this happened. No,
<v Speaker 5>that's twenty minutes from now.
<v Speaker 2>All right, let's we'll stick to the Nintendo. You know
<v Speaker 2>that Star Fox game that keeps getting rumored. One of
<v Speaker 2>the people responsible for the rumors Need the Hate says
<v Speaker 2>that it is supposed to come out in June, and
<v Speaker 2>if it doesn't get announced in April, then there is
<v Speaker 2>some change to the marketing plan at least. Well it's
<v Speaker 2>April twenty eight, so the clock is sticking, but April's
<v Speaker 2>not over yet.
<v Speaker 6>I'm so stupid.
<v Speaker 5>It's like, I feel like it's been like two or
<v Speaker 5>three Star Fox games now where I've played it, and
<v Speaker 5>then I've been like, what what do you likening at?
<v Speaker 2>Back lart?
<v Speaker 3>What are you look at?
<v Speaker 7>That?
<v Speaker 6>Are you looking at a fun.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, look, this is a reactionary podcast. Yeah, I saw.
<v Speaker 3>I took Jan's lead.
<v Speaker 4>Jan starts smiling because I looked at you first.
<v Speaker 2>Playing each other.
<v Speaker 6>And Jeffy the left a couple of Starbucks games.
<v Speaker 5>I beat it, and then I'm like, well, I'm done
<v Speaker 5>getting excited about this fucking series that only has two good.
<v Speaker 6>Now Mike's going, look, we can't.
<v Speaker 3>Stop, Mike. We know this.
<v Speaker 5>Mike's telephone shoulders are shaking like heartily, he's got the giggles,
<v Speaker 5>he's rubbing his eyes like a character.
<v Speaker 4>Look, so so you.
<v Speaker 2>Play them, but then you think they're not that good,
<v Speaker 2>but you get.
<v Speaker 5>You getting excited about fucking star fucks. And now I
<v Speaker 5>see this I'm like, yeah, star Fox in a couple
<v Speaker 5>of months.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, come on, it'll be good.
<v Speaker 4>Stop doing He's star fucks' star fuck already.
<v Speaker 3>You already that he beat it fucking star full Wow. Wow,
<v Speaker 3>holy shove it up your ass.
<v Speaker 2>All right, Well we'll keep going here, have mini game
<v Speaker 2>DLC maybe imminent. Basically people think Mercenaries is coming, and uh,
<v Speaker 2>the producer Asato Kumuzawa basically said, hey, you should have
<v Speaker 2>finished the game so you could be ready for some
<v Speaker 2>stuff that's happening here pretty soon. They I think they
<v Speaker 2>also cond learned that there will be story DLC separate
<v Speaker 2>from an imminent Mercenaries up.
<v Speaker 1>You know, after seeing you guys on the d Light
<v Speaker 1>Club play that uh swamp robot arm DLC for our seven,
<v Speaker 1>I I didn't know that existed.
<v Speaker 3>I need more zany DLC.
<v Speaker 5>Yeah, we're gonna be outside the strains. But I think
<v Speaker 5>that one was actually cannon. But like make stuff that's
<v Speaker 5>not cannon and just make it weird as hell with
<v Speaker 5>these like good engines.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I think I saw that, like raise their
<v Speaker 3>financial forecast because rucky they.
<v Speaker 2>Did in selling so wow.
<v Speaker 3>And now Pragmatic back Games and now pragmat us, so
<v Speaker 3>selling will Yeah, did a million in two days? Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I send it.
<v Speaker 2>So they are they're doing well.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they they always do DLC for like the new
<v Speaker 3>games specifically, so seven eight at DLC.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>So, yeah, something's gonna happen with nine, and I'm curious
<v Speaker 3>if it's gonna be an excuse for them to bring
<v Speaker 3>back a character. And then Yeah, some kind of mercenaries
<v Speaker 3>mode probably fun, especially with Nigause, like the combat did
<v Speaker 3>feel so good, having a good excuse to run around again.
<v Speaker 3>I kind of hope you have mercenary modes focus on
<v Speaker 3>the kind of Leon stuff, and then the DLC kind
<v Speaker 3>of feels more like the Grace stuff again.
<v Speaker 2>Actually, that'd be pretty good.
<v Speaker 4>All right.
<v Speaker 2>Last handful of stories here, the last of US online
<v Speaker 2>director says he will never let one of his projects
<v Speaker 2>disappear again. If you're wondering how developers feel when they
<v Speaker 2>spend years of their life, I was working on something
<v Speaker 2>only for it to get scrapped and put away and
<v Speaker 2>never to see the light of day. Vinette Agarwall basically
<v Speaker 2>makes it sound like a nightmare, and he vows to
<v Speaker 2>never let that happen again. I gotta imagine it's a
<v Speaker 2>little traumatizing, right, years of your life down the drain.
<v Speaker 1>Effectively, Yeah, I mean any traumatic experience, right, Like it's
<v Speaker 1>just gonna stick with you. But also this word five
<v Speaker 1>years of your life is gone, and like, right, how
<v Speaker 1>do you put that on a resume?
<v Speaker 3>Right? And you have to think you're working on us
<v Speaker 3>like such a sure thing, like oh yeah, the multiplayer
<v Speaker 3>for the Last of Us, this giant thing, and Soundy's
<v Speaker 3>pivoting to live service games, like how could this be
<v Speaker 3>more of us?
<v Speaker 2>Slam duck.
<v Speaker 3>I'm still a little shocked that they were just straight
<v Speaker 3>up like just cancel it, right? How do you go
<v Speaker 3>from this is the idea to funding it for multiple
<v Speaker 3>years to be like, let's just.
<v Speaker 7>Not This industry is wild man, because like also like
<v Speaker 7>The Last of Us, despite like us maybe feeling some
<v Speaker 7>fatigue with the series, I feel like it still hits
<v Speaker 7>with like the general gaming audience.
<v Speaker 2>People made it a mode in that game with like
<v Speaker 2>some like DLC cosmetics or something. It would have been fine.
<v Speaker 2>It have been like a completely people would have been
<v Speaker 2>very excited about it. They'd still be playing it today.
<v Speaker 2>But because it couldn't exist to some massive standalone games
<v Speaker 2>as a service without a ton of support from the studio.
<v Speaker 2>They're like, this just won't make any sense, and it's like,
<v Speaker 2>oh well, just don't make games that way. There are
<v Speaker 2>other ways to do what we've seen it ourselves in
<v Speaker 2>the past. Hackler, did a bomb go off at your house?
<v Speaker 2>Why was it so right there? For?
<v Speaker 4>I don't know. The camera got a little excited.
<v Speaker 1>Sorry, Backler looked into a mirror and then flashbaged himself.
<v Speaker 3>I'm sorry, guys, I'll go.
<v Speaker 2>It's nice to your white friends. There's success.
<v Speaker 4>I mean, please, Mike. Uh, the proper word is clear.
<v Speaker 2>Trans co owners.
<v Speaker 4>It's an open challenge to every camera manufacturer find the
<v Speaker 4>technology that to keep up with my paleness, because you can't.
<v Speaker 2>No one's been able to do. We get star from
<v Speaker 2>the Game Awards.
<v Speaker 4>That's what it looked like. That would that looks like me?
<v Speaker 2>Ten?
<v Speaker 4>Okay, see what they're week at the beach?
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>Sega released the teaser for Alien Isolation too. Uh not
<v Speaker 2>not like a ton in there. There was just like
<v Speaker 2>some references to the first game and like how you
<v Speaker 2>saved in there. But uh yeah that things still happening.
<v Speaker 2>People are pretty excited about it. We probably see this
<v Speaker 2>game in some real way before the end of this year,
<v Speaker 2>maybe even at Summer Game Festival Summer Game where I
<v Speaker 2>would guess, I would guess, oh ship uh And then
<v Speaker 2>fair Games struggles to quote find the fun in latest pretests.
<v Speaker 2>I know, Dan, the number one torch carrier for fair
<v Speaker 2>Games stand.
<v Speaker 6>They lost the fun when they got rid of that
<v Speaker 6>dollar sign in the I.
<v Speaker 3>Maybe they just need to add this dollar side back
<v Speaker 3>and it'll be fun.
<v Speaker 4>Yes, this is a recent.
<v Speaker 3>It looks like oh no, the I looks like an
<v Speaker 3>l now.
<v Speaker 2>Uh yeah, a fair Game has just had a recent test,
<v Speaker 2>so they're they're still making this and trying to find
<v Speaker 2>the fun.
<v Speaker 4>Do you guys think this game ever comes out?
<v Speaker 3>I mean, the fact that they actually did a test
<v Speaker 3>is surprising, right, So at this point, maybe they're gonna
<v Speaker 3>just like fuck around see what happens.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, yeah, I mean it seems that way.
<v Speaker 2>This is U Haven Studios. It was founded by Jade Raymond.
<v Speaker 4>She's left.
<v Speaker 2>The studio seems to have gone through a lot except
<v Speaker 2>for a game cancelation because they're keeping this one around.
<v Speaker 2>So while other stuff has been getting canceled, this one surviving.
<v Speaker 3>I don't get it because uh whoa it just looks
<v Speaker 3>like scribbles mostly when I put the dollar side on
<v Speaker 3>every leg.
<v Speaker 4>Pretty cool, that's very pretty fun.
<v Speaker 1>That looks like you look like you're a Wickan or
<v Speaker 1>really into pagan stuff the way you wrote it like that.
<v Speaker 2>The Wickan just firing today about it.
<v Speaker 1>It is gonna say the Fair Games trailer because I
<v Speaker 1>booted it up after we talked about it, Greb.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, they're just.
<v Speaker 1>Doing the finals, and the finals is fun. So I
<v Speaker 1>don't know what their problem is. Four a time, not
<v Speaker 1>enough AI, that's the problem.
<v Speaker 4>That's why.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean, and they're trying to make like a
<v Speaker 2>Payday Like I think the concerning thing there is like
<v Speaker 2>even the Payday people couldn't figure out what made Payday funks.
<v Speaker 2>They put out pay Day three and no one wanted that,
<v Speaker 2>Like we're all going back to Payday three.
<v Speaker 3>It's no crime. Boss rock a City though, exactly where's
<v Speaker 3>Michael Madson is one of the games you say that,
<v Speaker 3>Babe admitted.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's funny.
<v Speaker 6>Absurd kimas in that game, That's what I remember.
<v Speaker 2>I remember Kim basing her like for some reason, like
<v Speaker 2>having rendered like a fully rendered chest, and so when
<v Speaker 2>they bugged out, you could see her entire breath. It's like,
<v Speaker 2>why is that even in the game, Like, why did
<v Speaker 2>you do that? Made weird? Weird game.
<v Speaker 3>I could never get it to happen. I'm so sorry.
<v Speaker 3>I got a clip for you if you need it.
<v Speaker 4>Bud Uh.
<v Speaker 2>That does it for the news.
<v Speaker 4>I'm ending this. I'm I'm starting to feel way more sick.
<v Speaker 4>If that was.
<v Speaker 2>OK, that was just news. Jeff, come on, read that,
<v Speaker 2>but he gotta play mine. You're gonna forget girl cheese
<v Speaker 2>if you get sucker. Be careful.
<v Speaker 1>All right, folks, We're gonna take a quick bricky break.
<v Speaker 1>We'll see if greb ass the ski dadd'll after this
<v Speaker 1>and we'll get the emails. We'll get the super chats.
<v Speaker 1>I don't think we're gonna guess anything because grub might
<v Speaker 1>just go away and the Honda Odyssey of our lives.
<v Speaker 3>Uh, we'll see you.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, guess or I should do that.
<v Speaker 1>These are the emails or the show emails. Bombcastagiant bomb
<v Speaker 1>dot com is the email address to send your emails to.
<v Speaker 1>You can write in about any and everything. You got
<v Speaker 1>fun quizzes, you got questions, you need recommendations, you have
<v Speaker 1>nice things to say, or just I don't know. You're
<v Speaker 1>trying to avoid an awkward social interaction and want to
<v Speaker 1>pretend to type a texty text or an email if
<v Speaker 1>someone send it us BombCast a giant bomb dot com.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>First email comes from Tyler from Australia, Hey Bombers. Over
<v Speaker 1>the last few weeks, I've been having this reoccurring video
<v Speaker 1>game dream and I wanted to get your opinion, both
<v Speaker 1>as experts and video games and pointing out odd quirks
<v Speaker 1>and people, so please help me out. Starts out as
<v Speaker 1>a typical high school dream slash nightmare where I'm sitting
<v Speaker 1>in class when the teacher tells me we are going
<v Speaker 1>to have a surprise exam. Naturally, I start to panic. However,
<v Speaker 1>instead of giving me exam papers, they instead hand me
<v Speaker 1>a we U game pad running Ninja Guiden for the
<v Speaker 1>original Xbox. He gives me two hours to beat the game.
<v Speaker 1>I've never really played Ninja Guiden before, so naturally I
<v Speaker 1>fumble and make a little progress. However, right before the
<v Speaker 1>exam runs out of time is when I normally wake up.
<v Speaker 1>I've had a variation of this dream at least three
<v Speaker 1>times in the last month, so what's going on? Is
<v Speaker 1>there any deeper meaning to what is happening or is
<v Speaker 1>my subconscious just telling me to get good? Thanks Tyler
<v Speaker 1>from Australia.
<v Speaker 6>What does everyone have that dream that specific.
<v Speaker 4>One the playing a video game under the clock.
<v Speaker 6>Specifically like being back in school and then it turns
<v Speaker 6>out graduate.
<v Speaker 3>Turns out high school must have been really stressful the
<v Speaker 3>ways that I think we've like actually blocked out, so
<v Speaker 3>our brain just keeps braying it back yeah, because like
<v Speaker 3>it's yes.
<v Speaker 1>Still to this.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, I'm gonna be forty soon, and a third
<v Speaker 3>of my dreams are still taking place in high school,
<v Speaker 3>like braying get oh really school or school related and
<v Speaker 3>it's it's some variation of oh, it's the last day
<v Speaker 3>of school and it turns out I forgot about a
<v Speaker 3>class and never went to it, and what's gonna happen
<v Speaker 3>to me? Like it's constantly stuff like that, or like
<v Speaker 3>I'm naked, or my teeth are falling out, like all
<v Speaker 3>these generic ones that we all share.
<v Speaker 6>The tooth really, I don't have the tooth one.
<v Speaker 5>That's really heard in reading my dreams and stuff like that,
<v Speaker 5>I heard the tooth thing is a vanity thing where
<v Speaker 5>it's a fear of like losing and stuff like that.
<v Speaker 4>Oh I've never had I'm not I'm not vain.
<v Speaker 2>I've never had I've never had the tooth either. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I've definitely.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, the school I mean, you know, I don't know.
<v Speaker 4>I think a lot of dream analysis is a bit
<v Speaker 4>of a snake oil mysticism kind of crap. I think
<v Speaker 4>I just think it's like, what the so, But you know,
<v Speaker 4>I think on paper, the high school thing makes sense
<v Speaker 4>certainly a traumatic part in adolescents, and you know, for
<v Speaker 4>for my money, the time and your life where you're
<v Speaker 4>exposed to like the most horrific, terrible people and the
<v Speaker 4>worst versions of people. So I think I get it.
<v Speaker 4>What I'm not getting Emailer is the whole like, finish
<v Speaker 4>this video game or you'll fail to collect. Like I
<v Speaker 4>want your problems. I want I want to have that
<v Speaker 4>kind of stuff going on, where like I just feel
<v Speaker 4>like the stakes are just so low.
<v Speaker 6>I mean, but you're not beaten into guide in two hours.
<v Speaker 4>That's I just think it's I think it's like a
<v Speaker 4>wild I don't know, maybe it's some sort of other
<v Speaker 4>like reinterpretation of an issue you're having, but that's uh, Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>the high school thing, I hear all the time. I
<v Speaker 4>don't think I've don't ever had that, you know what,
<v Speaker 4>I get a lot about. I'll just turn this around
<v Speaker 4>on me. I get a situation where I'm like, it's
<v Speaker 4>kind of cool and it's not a nightmare. It's just
<v Speaker 4>like a weird thing that I dream a lot. And
<v Speaker 4>Stacey just had this dream last night. Also, I dream
<v Speaker 4>that I'm discovering like a totally unknown part of my basement.
<v Speaker 2>Oh.
<v Speaker 3>I dream that I like back rooms, adjacent style back rooms.
<v Speaker 4>It's total back rooms type of ship and it's awesome
<v Speaker 4>and it's like there's a killer in there or anything.
<v Speaker 4>I will look, we know about the murder room in
<v Speaker 4>my basement that we sorry, that's not the new room. Okay,
<v Speaker 4>that's that's documented in right, it's part of the floor plant.
<v Speaker 1>Uh I.
<v Speaker 4>It's like you discover a door and it's like there's
<v Speaker 4>a whole other fucking wing here and you're like, what,
<v Speaker 4>how do we not know about this? It's awesome?
<v Speaker 2>I love that? Is it?
<v Speaker 4>It's some back rooms bullshit?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know is it generally furnished, Jeff, or is
<v Speaker 1>it just like empty.
<v Speaker 4>Furnished and like uninhabited for a long period of time.
<v Speaker 2>Cobb Cob.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, it's basically like a resident evil castle is just
<v Speaker 4>sort of like in my basement somehow. Yeah, it's like
<v Speaker 4>adjacent to an impossible room kind of thing. Uh yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I love it.
<v Speaker 5>Instead my weird recurring one, the theme is always I
<v Speaker 5>have either one or found a ton of money. Like
<v Speaker 5>I'm just like, suddenly, here's a ship ton of money.
<v Speaker 5>But I know I'm dreaming, and so I have enough
<v Speaker 5>logic in my dream where I'm loose and I'm like, look,
<v Speaker 5>I know i'm dreaming. I know this isn't real right now,
<v Speaker 5>but I need to figure out how to wire this
<v Speaker 5>to the real world on an app on my phone.
<v Speaker 5>I need to go to my bank app. And if
<v Speaker 5>I just wire it, it's confirmed. It's good, it's real.
<v Speaker 5>And then I wake up and I'm like, that's not
<v Speaker 5>how it works.
<v Speaker 3>Like that, I know I'm dreaming, and I'm like, but
<v Speaker 3>it's okay, because I'll figure this out.
<v Speaker 2>I know how to do this.
<v Speaker 6>I got the confirmation on the app right here, right,
<v Speaker 6>that's very good.
<v Speaker 3>I have a lot of I'm driving really poorly dreams.
<v Speaker 3>A lot of times I have oh no, I'm driving
<v Speaker 3>from the back row.
<v Speaker 8>This this is really m feeling like not saying at all,
<v Speaker 8>and I'm like, I can't it's going it's.
<v Speaker 2>Going so fast, there's a hill coming up. I'm going
<v Speaker 2>to go off the edge and I can't. I can't sleep.
<v Speaker 2>This one that one I attribute to like you should
<v Speaker 2>it be driving?
<v Speaker 3>It's stressed, but also like our brains actually don't know
<v Speaker 3>what to copperhead this weird social construct we've created of
<v Speaker 3>driving cars and now at night it's like, what was
<v Speaker 3>that about? That was scary?
<v Speaker 2>Why'd you do that?
<v Speaker 4>That's cool? Well, not cool, but interesting. I don't have
<v Speaker 4>the naked dream out of the school. I don't. I
<v Speaker 4>don't know I've ever had a dream.
<v Speaker 5>Was always so annoying because it's just like you're just
<v Speaker 5>somewhere and you're like, why don't I have pants on?
<v Speaker 5>Like I'm not wearing shoes, I'm not having panting. This
<v Speaker 5>is like can I borrow a towel? Like why did
<v Speaker 5>I plan for this? This shouldn't be right.
<v Speaker 3>It's like it's not even so much like it's a
<v Speaker 3>little bit like, oh my bear, some nakeds Mostly I'm
<v Speaker 3>going to be in trouble.
<v Speaker 2>I can't just behavior.
<v Speaker 3>I can't be okayeah yeah, like, uh, got good for me?
<v Speaker 4>All right?
<v Speaker 1>Well, Tyler is still what your dream means? Who knows, Bud.
<v Speaker 1>We just talked about our own.
<v Speaker 3>Scow playing Ninja guide in and you'll be fine. Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, go practice in real life and then that'll equate
<v Speaker 1>in your dream life. Ryan writes in Hi everyone, Ryan
<v Speaker 1>from Pleasanton here. I'm curious to know your preferences regarding
<v Speaker 1>Resident Evil campaigns. Do you prefer campaigns with dual protagonists
<v Speaker 1>such as Ari one in three or do you prefer
<v Speaker 1>campaigns with a single protagonist like four, seven and eight. Well,
<v Speaker 1>having multiple protagonists can add more story in case. In
<v Speaker 1>some cases, you can also be a hassle to play
<v Speaker 1>a campaign multiple times just to complete everything. I'd love
<v Speaker 1>to hear your thoughts on this, thanks, Ryan. I mean
<v Speaker 1>they can make it work anyway. Like there's been good
<v Speaker 1>ones with two, there's been good ones with with one.
<v Speaker 1>I do think og Resident Evil two and the remake
<v Speaker 1>to us extent where you pick between one or two
<v Speaker 1>characters and then when you beat the one campaign, you
<v Speaker 1>do the second campaign. It's like a little bit different,
<v Speaker 1>so you have like that a b route to pay
<v Speaker 1>which character.
<v Speaker 4>It's like you could just play the game with.
<v Speaker 3>The A rounds that you beat it, but then you
<v Speaker 3>play the game with the B route, then it really
<v Speaker 3>feels like you finish a thing. But then if you
<v Speaker 3>want it a little, you know even more, you could
<v Speaker 3>start the A route with the other character this time,
<v Speaker 3>then do the B route with the other character. But
<v Speaker 3>I think I think that's the best they've done it.
<v Speaker 3>I think I like that even more than Requiem, where
<v Speaker 3>it's just there's two characters you just kind of switch
<v Speaker 3>between them when the story tells you to. Although that
<v Speaker 3>was fine, I'm glad that they did that, but I
<v Speaker 3>would like it best if we went back to pick
<v Speaker 3>Claire Leon kind of a thing from the beginning and
<v Speaker 3>then play through the other characters see their perspective.
<v Speaker 6>Sure, yeah, I don'tmember what I played two.
<v Speaker 5>I only played through two remake once and I've never
<v Speaker 5>done the ab thing. I think it's a cool idea.
<v Speaker 5>I'd like to go back and do that. But yeah,
<v Speaker 5>I think I lean towards like single, like four seven eight,
<v Speaker 5>I think I prefer that think.
<v Speaker 3>The two, especially because like rest Evil one, it doesn't
<v Speaker 3>really matter, like the campaign doesn't change if you played
<v Speaker 3>with the other one. But two is the one where
<v Speaker 3>you should play with both of them to kind of
<v Speaker 3>really see everything.
<v Speaker 5>Like Requiem was so good with two. But like I
<v Speaker 5>did keep thinking that, like, man, I would love just
<v Speaker 5>the whole Grace game like this, you know, yeah, yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Nothing but Grace and then just like the horizontal skyscraper.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's just that's it.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah that should that's let that be the DLC minigame stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah for that, you know, right, moving on along,
<v Speaker 1>Devin Rights and hey there, first time, long time. I
<v Speaker 1>started listening to you guys back in twenty twenty. And
<v Speaker 1>don't ask me who the members were.
<v Speaker 3>At that time.
<v Speaker 1>I wasn't my coffee roasting job in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
<v Speaker 1>Oh hey, son, some beans when I came across this
<v Speaker 1>delightful pod whilst being on some Ethiopia gouji.
<v Speaker 3>Oh shit.
<v Speaker 1>Fast forward to Minatti's first appearance.
<v Speaker 3>I cannot stand the guy.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah that's a fast forward to today. He might be
<v Speaker 1>my favorite person on the podcast. Yes, same parentheses. Sorry, Dan,
<v Speaker 1>Mike's arc will forever be my favorite plotline in media.
<v Speaker 3>Just thought, you guys know, like.
<v Speaker 2>Darth Vader, like some mythical beasts, right, he's yeah, he's
<v Speaker 2>magic and you can do anything.
<v Speaker 3>If I came in this first time, I was really
<v Speaker 3>obnoxious with my wallet, condoms and everything. It was a
<v Speaker 3>bad look.
<v Speaker 2>I get it.
<v Speaker 3>That wasn't the first look, Mikey.
<v Speaker 1>My original reason for emailing you was to recommend an
<v Speaker 1>album that came out a month ago. Cave Story, a
<v Speaker 1>lyrical walk through on YouTube. I'm not sure you guys
<v Speaker 1>have seen it, but it's fantastic. Keep doing God's work,
<v Speaker 1>whoever that may be, Devin, uh shouts out of you.
<v Speaker 3>Thanks. Uh yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Game story a lyrical walk through.
<v Speaker 3>Cave story.
<v Speaker 1>Like that.
<v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, the game. Yeah, someone did all wrap. They
<v Speaker 2>wrapped the entire walk through.
<v Speaker 3>It's what the heck?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah?
<v Speaker 1>But yo, Devin, send some beans over dog or give
<v Speaker 1>me some res I would love to get some some.
<v Speaker 2>Coffee beats A mine acquired taste.
<v Speaker 1>In Middle Georgia writes in Hey, Gang, I recently finished
<v Speaker 1>your scam line stream and had a couple of questions.
<v Speaker 1>Jan said Grub has weaponized his ADHD. Can you teach
<v Speaker 1>me these secrets? As a fellow enjoyer, all I've ever
<v Speaker 1>gotten out of mind is disappointment and mystery bruises. Although
<v Speaker 1>I'm trying to figure out how to unlock the ADHD superpowers.
<v Speaker 1>We're supposed to have any advice, and one thing I
<v Speaker 1>did notice is how uncomfortable everyone was getting to have
<v Speaker 1>to deceive your friends. Having grown up with a manipulative parent.
<v Speaker 1>I avoid these types of games because I dislike that
<v Speaker 1>kind of behavior. It brings out in me. Do any
<v Speaker 1>of y'all have cool reasons why you avoid entire games?
<v Speaker 3>Thanks? I love you, Paully and Middle Georgia.
<v Speaker 2>To OK great. I used to be a coward the
<v Speaker 2>ADHD thing real quick, No, I have no way, Like
<v Speaker 2>you just have to like ride the red line. You
<v Speaker 2>have to just go and go and go, and then
<v Speaker 2>occasionally some good things will happen and then you look
<v Speaker 2>behind you and there's a wake of destruction and that's bad.
<v Speaker 2>So no no advice.
<v Speaker 1>I think of this is parentheses positive grub, don't worry.
<v Speaker 1>I think of Grub as like uh, a eighteen wheeler
<v Speaker 1>heading downhill, but not in a destructive manner, but like
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna fucking make.
<v Speaker 3>It to this destination.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, that momentum is real.
<v Speaker 4>It's like as and if it stops, it takes a
<v Speaker 4>lot to get me going again.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, exactly, because.
<v Speaker 1>Once Grubb started going in scam lines. He was the scared,
<v Speaker 1>one of the scarier people to.
<v Speaker 2>Deal with him.
<v Speaker 1>And that's why and that's why Will had to take
<v Speaker 1>him down all on his own, accord British.
<v Speaker 2>That's why we'll have to come up with the idea
<v Speaker 2>on his own.
<v Speaker 3>Sure that mustache contains multitudes, Just skip believe white friends. Also,
<v Speaker 3>all these people, all these strangers on lights.
<v Speaker 2>Say I'm an acquired days.
<v Speaker 4>I think there's some truth to that.
<v Speaker 2>I mean.
<v Speaker 4>When I met you. You know, I usually take a
<v Speaker 4>lot of pride in sizing up someone the first time
<v Speaker 4>I meet them. I think first impressions and to some degree,
<v Speaker 4>like a second pression really kind of tell the whole
<v Speaker 4>story for me. I kind of don't need to see
<v Speaker 4>anything else after that. And I think, I think you're
<v Speaker 4>you're an acquired taste. But it's like almost it's very
<v Speaker 4>close to instantaneous, yeah, right, like because I think if
<v Speaker 4>you because I had watched you for a while and
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, who's this fucking guy? Right, and then when
<v Speaker 4>I got to meet you, it's very very quick. So
<v Speaker 4>it's like one of those like really exotic foods that
<v Speaker 4>you're meaning to try for so long. Everyone loves it,
<v Speaker 4>and he's like, I just got to try it once
<v Speaker 4>and I know I like it, and that's what happened.
<v Speaker 5>It's much better than the alternative, where it's like the
<v Speaker 5>more you learn, the more you get to know someone,
<v Speaker 5>the more you don't like them, where it's like mid
<v Speaker 5>the same thing. When I first like heard of you,
<v Speaker 5>I think a lot of times people lead with the
<v Speaker 5>like he's like a big Disney adult thing, and so
<v Speaker 5>my first impression of you was like, oh, this guy's
<v Speaker 5>no good, but then it's a bad apple yeah, and
<v Speaker 5>then I got very quickly.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, Okay, I love this guy.
<v Speaker 4>So okay, I don't think I knew the Disney thing before,
<v Speaker 4>which is fine.
<v Speaker 2>Three seconds later, like.
<v Speaker 3>My calendar right now, it's just my annual pass order
<v Speaker 3>counter Disney wold. It has been this mini mouse one
<v Speaker 3>even I almost feel a little ridiculous with this mini
<v Speaker 3>mouse picture constantly hovering above me and everything.
<v Speaker 2>I do this I don't even notice it anymore, just
<v Speaker 2>blurs in.
<v Speaker 1>Now that you pointed it out, well, it's gonna go
<v Speaker 1>away soon because of may.
<v Speaker 6>This guy's no good.
<v Speaker 4>That this guy is no good came back around.
<v Speaker 2>Finally you were ahead of the game.
<v Speaker 3>There the boomerang like went and bopped me in the
<v Speaker 3>back of the head. Just then my wants.
<v Speaker 4>To start over where the condom?
<v Speaker 2>I love this right the condo?
<v Speaker 3>Just like.
<v Speaker 1>It was last week's podcast. Bad that we we used
<v Speaker 1>their token because I think we need it now I
<v Speaker 1>think we used it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Shoot, did they offer a stamp card or something?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 2>Got a rain check?
<v Speaker 3>All right?
<v Speaker 1>Travis and Fargo writes in with five questions every week.
<v Speaker 3>I choose one of them.
<v Speaker 1>This week, Travis asks, how are your New Year's resolutions going?
<v Speaker 3>I hope?
<v Speaker 2>Well? What the fuck is that?
<v Speaker 3>Yo?
<v Speaker 2>Yo yo, yo yo?
<v Speaker 1>Here, okay, folks at home, here it is. Here's the
<v Speaker 1>Janitchow inspiration that you all have been asking for.
<v Speaker 3>Here's the jail smoke more what, here's the jui all right,
<v Speaker 3>it's only well, there's twelve months of the year. There's plenty.
<v Speaker 3>Only way, baby, get back on the horse. Anyway.
<v Speaker 2>What that's your inspiration, because.
<v Speaker 3>Don't get these scourage. Don't get discouraged that like you
<v Speaker 3>may have dropped the ball. It's only April, y'all. Like
<v Speaker 3>Mikey said, it's gonna be mad.
<v Speaker 2>It's gonna be mad.
<v Speaker 4>The inspiration is that you don't need the changing of
<v Speaker 4>a year to do something meaningful. Right.
<v Speaker 5>It's very true, but it can be like a nice incentive.
<v Speaker 5>I get it, Like I Mine was like, Okay, I'm
<v Speaker 5>gonna get back in running shape and do the marathon
<v Speaker 5>and stuff. I'm down twenty two pounds. The other one
<v Speaker 5>is to be on a game show this year. We
<v Speaker 5>got plenty of time this year, so.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I like, And hey, who the fuck is making
<v Speaker 1>the calendar if we're going off of like Chinese New Year?
<v Speaker 2>The year just started exactly?
<v Speaker 4>Good point, There we go, There we go? All right?
<v Speaker 1>Uh, I don't have this user's name written down, but
<v Speaker 1>they email every other day. They treat us as their
<v Speaker 1>Twitter or their ex and they wrote in an actual
<v Speaker 1>question this time, Hi, I want to hear about the
<v Speaker 1>jan Dan shoe rotation. What do you guys go with
<v Speaker 1>for your easy runs? Anything in particular for tempo? What's
<v Speaker 1>for the race day.
<v Speaker 5>I'm a big Hoka guy because I got big fat
<v Speaker 5>feet and I've had a lot of trouble with with
<v Speaker 5>feet and planner for chitas and stuff like that, and
<v Speaker 5>I found Hokahs to be a shout out. Alex Boniello
<v Speaker 5>who turned me onto these, But I just have a
<v Speaker 5>rotation of hokahs. I've got the Gaviotas for long runs.
<v Speaker 5>I just got the Mock the Mock five or whatever
<v Speaker 5>they run now or whatever for like my short, lighter runs,
<v Speaker 5>and then the Bondi Nines I've got as just kind
<v Speaker 5>of a every day, you know, any purpose run.
<v Speaker 1>So I'm a Hope, I'm a I'm a big hoe
<v Speaker 1>as well, big big on that brand. But the only
<v Speaker 1>thing is that some of the other brands dan they
<v Speaker 1>just look so cool and like gaudy. But my feet
<v Speaker 1>are also too wide. They just don't fit.
<v Speaker 5>It's a fun part about like running stuff though, because
<v Speaker 5>like running shorts, running shoes, everything is just like neon crazy.
<v Speaker 6>Just get weird with it.
<v Speaker 5>Like I like that because it's like, well, you're just
<v Speaker 5>wearing this when you're running around outside. Mine helps to
<v Speaker 5>be you know, very visible and everything. So Yeah'm just
<v Speaker 5>gonna get whacky with it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Also, damn running tights. Wow right, I love keeping everything
<v Speaker 1>in place.
<v Speaker 2>Holding it all, holding it all down, staple it down.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely exactly exactly, just tuck it in all right. Let's see,
<v Speaker 1>uh one more email and then we'll get to super
<v Speaker 1>chats or or grub guesser grub if you haven't ad prepared,
<v Speaker 1>I got it all right?
<v Speaker 3>Fine? Great?
<v Speaker 1>Uh?
<v Speaker 3>Chris writes in Hey.
<v Speaker 1>Duders, How fucking sick would it be if Housemark made
<v Speaker 1>an Edge of Tomorrow game with short little Tom Cruise
<v Speaker 1>running around killing all the sick freaks of that movie
<v Speaker 1>and we lift, I repeat, and uh what what would
<v Speaker 1>be your other nuts super obvious game studio movie pairings?
<v Speaker 1>I just want Emily Blunt's character in that game. We
<v Speaker 1>don't need Tom Cruce respectfully, respectfully, Yes, that push up
<v Speaker 1>thing cinema anyway, any any other pairings y'all can think of?
<v Speaker 3>I mean, I don't know, maybe it is obvious, but
<v Speaker 3>like I think I think Naughty Dog should forget about
<v Speaker 3>all these like sad space or apocalypse people and just
<v Speaker 3>make a National Treasure movie that if I can find
<v Speaker 3>out page they can make a movie too. Yes, but
<v Speaker 3>like I mean literally, I don't mean like it's like similar.
<v Speaker 3>I want them to get Nick Cage, and I want
<v Speaker 3>there to be a lot of weird American history involved.
<v Speaker 3>I want him to steal the but he stole the
<v Speaker 3>decorations of Independence, then he kidnapped the President. What's the
<v Speaker 3>escalation gonna be gonna bomb the Lincoln Memorial something like that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, he's gonna kind of Lincoln Memorial.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah yeah, and he's not gonna kill anyone really, but
<v Speaker 4>he'll he'll punch him though a lot. They'll punch him
<v Speaker 4>and knock them out. Yeah, it's gonna be.
<v Speaker 3>It won't be as shooty a game for sure, which
<v Speaker 3>you know, it could be a little bit l like,
<v Speaker 3>it won't have the Luto narrative dissonance that chart it
<v Speaker 3>has because he's like a plucky.
<v Speaker 2>Exactly finally right in the world.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah, yeah, maybe somehow less racist than those games too, right,
<v Speaker 3>it's all about American history.
<v Speaker 2>Get the Seafood Team to make a raid game.
<v Speaker 4>Oh yeah, that'd be good.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that'd be fantastic.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I want I want the Tomadacci Life Team to
<v Speaker 2>retell the story of the Godfather trilogy.
<v Speaker 3>You're right, yeah, punch out Creed.
<v Speaker 2>Sure, Oh sure, sure, sure yeah.
<v Speaker 6>I mean seeing the clips what people are doing Dodgy
<v Speaker 6>Life is so fucking funny.
<v Speaker 4>It rules.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, Greb, you need to send me that doc so
<v Speaker 1>I can just constantly capture because I learned the hard
<v Speaker 1>way that the switch to has a thirty second capture
<v Speaker 1>limit and that's stupid.
<v Speaker 3>All right, That does it.
<v Speaker 1>For emails, BombCast John bomb dot com is email address.
<v Speaker 1>Send your emails to thank you everyone for writing in.
<v Speaker 1>I say this every week, but for the past couple
<v Speaker 1>of months we've been getting flooded with emails, and if
<v Speaker 1>your email does make it onto the show, apologies, but
<v Speaker 1>please continue to write in. Jeff, Grub guess what what?
<v Speaker 1>It's time to guess an ad it grub guess.
<v Speaker 3>Close the chats.
<v Speaker 4>It's time for grub guess or Jen.
<v Speaker 2>I've put a couple of these images into and they're
<v Speaker 2>safe for you to look at, but they're in the
<v Speaker 2>stream elements if you want to show them to everybody
<v Speaker 2>at home, let's start. I think they're both going to
<v Speaker 2>be relatively easy. Let's start with the one. Yes, I
<v Speaker 2>think this one. I think you guys will recognize this
<v Speaker 2>one for the most part. Uh, we'll see if you
<v Speaker 2>remember what it's advertising. So I'm putting it in our
<v Speaker 2>chat hero real quick. For audio listeners, let's go ahead and.
<v Speaker 4>Break it down.
<v Speaker 2>It is a stylized drawing illustration of a child's face
<v Speaker 2>and he's got big grinning teeth. And he's like looking
<v Speaker 2>at the camera and he's got a shitty grin and
<v Speaker 2>he's looking right at it. That is all I'm showing
<v Speaker 2>them here. But what is this an advertisement for?
<v Speaker 7>Man?
<v Speaker 4>Yes?
<v Speaker 2>Is this a hardware ad?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, I would say it's a hardware.
<v Speaker 2>It is not the worm Light. Is it game Boy adjacent? Though? Right?
<v Speaker 4>It is not game Boy?
<v Speaker 3>Is the game your TV taking show gear or something?
<v Speaker 4>This is a little bit weirder like it's it's for
<v Speaker 4>a peripheral.
<v Speaker 2>Is it a first party peripheral? I don't think so.
<v Speaker 6>No, the game Boy magnifier screen.
<v Speaker 4>It is not the game Boy not game Is it
<v Speaker 4>made by mad cats? Uh No, I can't tell you
<v Speaker 4>who it's made by because that it really narrows it down.
<v Speaker 2>Your TV. It is not the game Boy TV tuner
<v Speaker 2>you got. I'm sorry, which one did you say?
<v Speaker 4>Gear TV? It is not the game Gear TV tuner.
<v Speaker 4>It's not.
<v Speaker 2>Or ex band X. It is not X band Like
<v Speaker 2>you guys are like in a territory with peripheral. It's
<v Speaker 2>a little bit like second you but off.
<v Speaker 4>It is not the saga. No, Mad, But you're kind
<v Speaker 4>of getting back, You're getting a little bit closer again.
<v Speaker 1>It's not it predates a game shark, Oh.
<v Speaker 4>A game Genie.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, it is not the game g is the I'm
<v Speaker 2>it is not the thirty two X. Now I'll give
<v Speaker 2>you uh no, okay, I'll give.
<v Speaker 4>You guys a clue.
<v Speaker 2>The So you see, uh, the image that I've shared
<v Speaker 2>with you guys, Yeah, you'll notice that there's like an
<v Speaker 2>angle across the side of his face where I had
<v Speaker 2>to kind of like chop it off so you couldn't
<v Speaker 2>see the thing that he's holding. Yeah, it.
<v Speaker 4>Is a type of controller.
<v Speaker 6>Okay, it's too early for the air conditioner controllers.
<v Speaker 2>Tell me about the controller. That is what we're trying
<v Speaker 2>to do, is the six damn?
<v Speaker 1>What was it?
<v Speaker 6>A six button seca controller?
<v Speaker 2>It is not the six button, is it? It is
<v Speaker 2>not the power gets. I think we're getting closer way,
<v Speaker 2>what bird? What is this fucker holding?
<v Speaker 4>Yeah, because like so you had a let's guys, let's
<v Speaker 4>do the jit. Let's try and like yeah, let's take
<v Speaker 4>your time.
<v Speaker 2>Wait is it one of the guns?
<v Speaker 4>It is not one of them.
<v Speaker 6>Controller.
<v Speaker 2>It's not that thing.
<v Speaker 4>No, Look how he cropped it.
<v Speaker 1>It's this diagonal So he's holding it like this right
<v Speaker 1>like against him the diagonal was the way you help
<v Speaker 1>things cool back then.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it is both Super Genesis and Super Nintendo Super Genesis.
<v Speaker 4>Hell yeah, Genesis different.
<v Speaker 6>It's not a different version. It's like you could buy
<v Speaker 6>and it's you can use it on either.
<v Speaker 4>It's no like there is one freach.
<v Speaker 2>You're right, okay, yes, different plug.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it just has such strong worm light vibes. I
<v Speaker 1>can't does it's not isn't it's not wireless?
<v Speaker 3>Right?
<v Speaker 1>It was?
<v Speaker 2>It is not wired.
<v Speaker 4>I think I can see a wire.
<v Speaker 2>It's umb that it's wired. It's dumb that it's wired
<v Speaker 2>to Maybe it would be really annoying.
<v Speaker 6>It's not the activator.
<v Speaker 1>It's a peripheral, right, it's some kind of like it's
<v Speaker 1>not that the Olympics pad thing. The power pad is
<v Speaker 1>not the Olympics power But he is holding something in
<v Speaker 1>his hands, and that is the thing. You guys got
<v Speaker 1>to tell me what is held?
<v Speaker 2>What did they? No guitar controllers at this point, it's
<v Speaker 2>not related.
<v Speaker 3>It's not a guitar, and it's not like what games.
<v Speaker 3>It's not gun man. The fact that's not a gun.
<v Speaker 6>Wasn't there a stick, wasn't like a turbo cons something.
<v Speaker 3>Lacky it's something really weird in nineties.
<v Speaker 2>Is it like like one of those track ball ones.
<v Speaker 2>It's not one of the track ball ones. It is
<v Speaker 2>a little bit more active than that.
<v Speaker 6>Is it's not that interactive or it's not the octagon
<v Speaker 6>you stand in and punk the U.
<v Speaker 4>Force or whatever. Oh that thing.
<v Speaker 2>No, the enforced wasn't the activator and then yes, right,
<v Speaker 2>it is not that. But you know it's a motion
<v Speaker 2>controller motion got a gun.
<v Speaker 3>It is a baseball base of course, it's a baseball bat.
<v Speaker 2>What it is it's a hit from sports. Look at
<v Speaker 2>asshole kid.
<v Speaker 4>Look at this asshole kid holding their baseball.
<v Speaker 2>Perfect their zero recollection of this. I remember this thing.
<v Speaker 3>I think I sort of got I used one of
<v Speaker 3>these at some point or another, like a friends something.
<v Speaker 3>This looks like this looks like it's a device that
<v Speaker 3>children should not use.
<v Speaker 6>Control the bat.
<v Speaker 4>They don't, All right, what's weird about this is like
<v Speaker 4>what the kid's face was so familiar to me?
<v Speaker 3>Is this fish eye lands face and a million of
<v Speaker 3>these illustrated kid's face up close fish islands just a
<v Speaker 3>style that they stylized like the enamel and his teeth
<v Speaker 3>in a weird way.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, for sure.
<v Speaker 4>It looks weird as hell.
<v Speaker 2>All right, I have won more for you. It's in
<v Speaker 2>there now for audio listeners. This is another grub guesser.
<v Speaker 2>It's time to hit the road again and again and
<v Speaker 2>again and again. And there's tire tread in the background.
<v Speaker 4>What game is?
<v Speaker 7>This?
<v Speaker 2>Strikes me?
<v Speaker 6>Is PS one car game.
<v Speaker 5>I'm gonna go destruction derby a twisted metal a Karmageddon
<v Speaker 5>like I'm thinking this is like ninety seven ninety eight, Am,
<v Speaker 5>I is.
<v Speaker 2>Not twisted metal Karmageddon or whatever else you said.
<v Speaker 6>Interstate je we're felling eleven seventy nine.
<v Speaker 3>It is not interstate whatever is this? Is this a
<v Speaker 3>road Rash game, Jeff?
<v Speaker 4>It is a road Rash game?
<v Speaker 2>Oh, Rash three? It is road Rash three. Oh, come on,
<v Speaker 2>good job.
<v Speaker 3>Microphone, excellent jobs, going so fast?
<v Speaker 2>I think I have the full one here, hangout me
<v Speaker 2>share it with you guys.
<v Speaker 4>You guys got again that.
<v Speaker 3>I just honestly, if I the game, uh, magazine, I
<v Speaker 3>see a tire, I'm thinking road Rash First, the nastiest.
<v Speaker 2>No holds barred motorcycle combat game returns to Genesis.
<v Speaker 6>You know, nice word.
<v Speaker 3>I've been thinking about road Rash. I think when I
<v Speaker 3>had the three d O emulator going for Virtuoso. I
<v Speaker 3>tried road Rash on that system and that's still a
<v Speaker 3>good game. Actually, read Rash is great.
<v Speaker 4>Well, thanks for playing grub guesser, guys, good job. I'm
<v Speaker 4>very proud of you boys.
<v Speaker 1>Fan job, good job team. Uh Mike Minatti, please hit
<v Speaker 1>me with some YouTube super chats.
<v Speaker 3>If we have, we do, we do? We got one
<v Speaker 3>here from Big Fresh thirty seven says, did any of
<v Speaker 3>you manage to sneak in and buy the Boredom before
<v Speaker 3>Steam pulled it to buy Boredom?
<v Speaker 2>What's is? They're very good though. The guy that new
<v Speaker 2>road around through Washington, d C this past weekend, Uh,
<v Speaker 2>that's his game.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, okay, oh big frustrat. Also, i'd buy the Steam
<v Speaker 3>controler if the sticks were offset, I can't play Wardostyo.
<v Speaker 2>Why doesn't a company like Steam so to models.
<v Speaker 4>Worry about that? So, yeah, I know what you mean.
<v Speaker 2>But if you're thinking it's gonna feel like a dual
<v Speaker 2>shock controller, it doesn't because the sticks are just way
<v Speaker 2>up higher on the face.
<v Speaker 4>It does.
<v Speaker 2>It feels like they're in the right position. So if
<v Speaker 2>you need them offset so that your thumbs in a
<v Speaker 2>different position. Okay, yeah, but if you just need it
<v Speaker 2>to be sort of in that error area where your
<v Speaker 2>thumb naturally naturally falls. To me, this is exactly where
<v Speaker 2>I want them. And I'm someone who prefers offset sticks
<v Speaker 2>for Xbox compared to PlayStation.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>There you go.
<v Speaker 3>Then MiGs says, pour one out for spiders. Uh side
<v Speaker 3>face emoji, what happened to spiders? Spiders? Just capitalizes there
<v Speaker 3>is there a proper spiders? What happened to the spiders?
<v Speaker 3>Or went out for the company of the company. What
<v Speaker 3>there's a company called, oh the toplisher okay, the de
<v Speaker 3>Fountain Studio for greed Fall.
<v Speaker 2>Oh right, got it?
<v Speaker 3>We thought you met the bug I know makes He says,
<v Speaker 3>when my Xbox one controller dies, will get the Steam controller.
<v Speaker 3>Uh yeah, sure, that'll If you get a Steam controller,
<v Speaker 3>that'll be an investment that will mostly pay off. Yeah yeah,
<v Speaker 3>Maxy says Jeff Backlar is the expert. Should we watch
<v Speaker 3>boiler Room?
<v Speaker 4>Oh the oh? I get okay, because I was on
<v Speaker 4>that next Lander a boiler Room podcast maybe.
<v Speaker 2>Seems to be like you're the expert.
<v Speaker 4>Boiler Room is a great film. I think I think
<v Speaker 4>it kind of does. I think it's very much a
<v Speaker 4>time capsule of like early early two thousands. I think
<v Speaker 4>it's a fairly decent, like not New York City movie,
<v Speaker 4>but like surrounding general suburban Borough area movie. Uh yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I think it's well done. It's got a killer soundtrack
<v Speaker 4>for the time. Uh and I think as far as
<v Speaker 4>like you know a lot of those actors and actors
<v Speaker 4>just kind of coming up. It's it's a decent watch.
<v Speaker 4>I enjoyed the most recent watch I did of it.
<v Speaker 4>I just watch it sort of over the top, but
<v Speaker 4>I think it works for the most part.
<v Speaker 2>I won't watch it unless it starts as Scientologist does
<v Speaker 2>the Star of Scientologists.
<v Speaker 3>It does right, Ah man, it's.
<v Speaker 4>Just you know, Geovirabisi and his like a very classic
<v Speaker 4>sad bastard face that he cannot remove or erase from
<v Speaker 4>his body. It's God's it. I think it's it's watchable. Yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I would check that out. I think it's a good watch.
<v Speaker 4>It's just it's quick too.
<v Speaker 3>Stacy Zacy Zacy says, so glad the steam controller is
<v Speaker 3>magneto resistant. Have you seen that guy? Scary? But you
<v Speaker 3>know he's also right.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I mean yeah, he tore out, he tore out
<v Speaker 2>Wolverring's bones once and traumatized me. I don't like that.
<v Speaker 1>Whoa, No, I'm all about Magnetos. Ill He's doing the
<v Speaker 1>work that fucking bitch ass Charles Xavier doesn't want to do.
<v Speaker 4>That's true.
<v Speaker 7>Whoa.
<v Speaker 3>Jamee Man says, how much do I have to give
<v Speaker 3>you all to stream that new Mind's Eye campaign? This
<v Speaker 3>is the one where he supposedly names the saboteurs.
<v Speaker 6>We're all gonna feel like fools for doubting.
<v Speaker 2>Then, yeah, we'll try to figure it out.
<v Speaker 3>J Jeff, who is the most h you would you know,
<v Speaker 3>you would think would play this sick right now? So
<v Speaker 3>we're not gonna force him to. I think Dan's afraid
<v Speaker 3>of stealth, and I don't have the game, or I
<v Speaker 3>don't know if anyone else does, so we got to
<v Speaker 3>We'll try to figure something out here. Uh you know,
<v Speaker 3>Illino says, hoping you can help boost a signal for
<v Speaker 3>an issue the new Xbox Series X owners are having,
<v Speaker 3>can't play three sixty games, profile won't download, use red
<v Speaker 3>thread link incoming, je Jeff, maybe something you can look into.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I've heard this going around, like the backward compatibility broke,
<v Speaker 2>and I thought they were looking into it? Did they
<v Speaker 2>not say publicly if they were looking into or now
<v Speaker 2>they gotta fix that. That's like one of the futures
<v Speaker 2>you get an Xbox.
<v Speaker 3>For makes he says, Jeff Grubb does valve Se replacement sticks.
<v Speaker 2>I don't.
<v Speaker 4>I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I would imagine that they because they said they work
<v Speaker 2>with I fix It on repairing stuff. So I'm sure
<v Speaker 2>those parts are out there and you could buy them
<v Speaker 2>one way or the other.
<v Speaker 3>Zombie Porn says who has the best hack collection at
<v Speaker 3>Giant Bombs?
<v Speaker 4>I mean give this guy's money back?
<v Speaker 3>No, sorry, those two dollars are staying with me. Uh
<v Speaker 3>Bigsi's backs the Steam Controller plus Star Wars combo for
<v Speaker 3>May for you guys believe that's Monday is May, May
<v Speaker 3>the fourth.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I was gonna stream some were kind of a
<v Speaker 2>busy Monday, but I was gonna find some time. I'm
<v Speaker 2>gonna stream some rogue broke what's the Rebel Alliance or
<v Speaker 2>the what's the one for PC? The old one the
<v Speaker 2>one with that FMV Yes, oh, on my personal stream.
<v Speaker 2>Like we're just talking like is there any blight worthy
<v Speaker 2>Star Wars games? And I was like, I don't really
<v Speaker 2>think so there's like some mediocre try to say Rebel
<v Speaker 2>Salt and I yelled at yes, rebel, Yes that'd be
<v Speaker 2>I'd love to watch you play some Rebel assault.
<v Speaker 3>Then we get put Rebels sault in and watch the
<v Speaker 3>Mystery Signs Theater three thousand, which is incredible.
<v Speaker 2>God exactly.
<v Speaker 3>I think personally I might finally start playing kote or
<v Speaker 3>two kind of around me fourth and.
<v Speaker 4>One should should?
<v Speaker 1>I just she just pulled out to her and yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you need to play. Do we need to play one first?
<v Speaker 3>Or should I can?
<v Speaker 2>I want to absolutely play one first.
<v Speaker 4>One.
<v Speaker 3>I mean I know a lot of people have two ones. Okay,
<v Speaker 3>I think if you did a poll across the world,
<v Speaker 3>one would win.
<v Speaker 1>Uh hey if you if anyone donates a bunch of money,
<v Speaker 1>we'll do uh A script reading of Revenge of the Sith.
<v Speaker 4>Yeah okay, Kelly, Yeah, I love it.
<v Speaker 3>Sure, a table reading. Do you want to be able to.
<v Speaker 4>Get to you?
<v Speaker 3>I'll be in the choir basement.
<v Speaker 4>I'll do it.
<v Speaker 2>At TODYO.
<v Speaker 3>Braass is getting a pc AM stupid m too or
<v Speaker 3>AMD explain like I'm five thanks.
<v Speaker 2>AMDCPUS still right now, just because they're the safer bet.
<v Speaker 2>Intel had had some issues with a couple of generations ago,
<v Speaker 2>but even without those problems, AMD has just been really
<v Speaker 2>really good in terms of power performance and yeah and efficiency.
<v Speaker 2>So yeah, I would go with the AMD right now.
<v Speaker 4>I feel like there, I don't know what Intel kind
<v Speaker 4>of has to do to earn a little bit of
<v Speaker 4>that trust back, right, I mean, I think it's been
<v Speaker 4>a while, but.
<v Speaker 2>It's amazing performance upgrades, Like, yeah, we gotta have a
<v Speaker 2>couple of generations where it's like they are eating the
<v Speaker 2>cost to give us thirty percent improvement. Yeah.
<v Speaker 4>Uh, And Antonio, while we have you and you're asking
<v Speaker 4>questions about buying a PC, I mean, why don't you
<v Speaker 4>hit up our friends at main Gear. Yeah, and support
<v Speaker 4>the site by using giant bomb when you check out,
<v Speaker 4>or just go to main gear dot com slash giant bomb.

<v Speaker 4>a new version of the case that we have. It's
<v Speaker 4>got all the fancy bells and whistles. I'm actually gonna
<v Speaker 4>go there and see it soon, So keep in eyef
<v Speaker 4>for that. But yeah, that that helps us, That helps
<v Speaker 4>support us. So I would agree with grub a MD
<v Speaker 4>for now for sure?
<v Speaker 3>Uh and Toto Ross is asking how much for the
<v Speaker 3>table reading? Also for Joe Tour. That's a that's a
<v Speaker 3>fun goof Well, a table read would be funny to
<v Speaker 3>do with this crew. We should do a table We
<v Speaker 3>should do a table reading of a script sometimes, that
<v Speaker 3>would Yeah, that'd be good.
<v Speaker 1>All right, Well we'll enlist some of our friends as well.

<v Speaker 4>time or just be hard?
<v Speaker 3>To do? Too hard?
<v Speaker 2>From the script.
<v Speaker 4>It's too hard.
<v Speaker 3>I want to read stage directions. Okay, Yes, I've got
<v Speaker 3>to have a stage manager. It would be Bailey or something. Uh,

<v Speaker 3>remember something.
<v Speaker 4>Jar Jar and Master Shake. We'll just have to fight.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Yeah, we'll get Greg Moore to come in and
<v Speaker 3>be even though he's not in that movie, the least
<v Speaker 3>offensive impression.
<v Speaker 1>Let's go. We'll we'll also be doing live Foley as well.
<v Speaker 4>Hell, just like the Monsters soundstage the meat baby.
