Imaginary Friend - My Bigfoot Sighting Episode 196

My Bigfoot Sighting

When tonight’s first guest was growing up, she had a series of experiences that she didn’t understand. That is, she didn’t understand them until she came face to face with what had been behind those experiences. It was a Sasquatch. Her family thought the Sasquatch was Tara’s imaginary friend, but when you her what that Sasquatch did, you might look at it as being more of a guardian angel. It saved her life, one day.

Tonight’s second guest had his Bigfoot sightings in Gulf County Florida. His first Sasquatch-related experience happened one night when he was 10 years old. He was snake hunting with his dad. While they were driving down a back road, he and his dad saw what they thought was a snake crawl, on the side of the road. They stopped, got out, and walked over to take a closer look and realized they were looking at a giant set of hominid footprints. When he had his next experience, it didn’t involve seeing evidence. It involved a much more convincing experience. He saw a 6 ½ foot tall Sasquatch.

<v Speaker 2>streets with the songs of the South of s. Then

<v Speaker 5>My Bigfoot sighting happened about a half mile from my
<v Speaker 5>family farm. It was about one hundred and forty seven acres.
<v Speaker 5>It was about half wooded, half farmland. I just remember
<v Speaker 5>growing up I was interacting with something. My bedroom was
<v Speaker 5>on the second floor. There was a tree outside of
<v Speaker 5>my window, but it wasn't a tree that you could climb.
<v Speaker 5>There was no limbs or anything anybody could climb. It
<v Speaker 5>just went straight up and I would find rocks on
<v Speaker 5>my window seal, or a turtle, a baby squirrel that
<v Speaker 5>fell out of the nest. It was gifts all the
<v Speaker 5>time on my window seal, and I just remember getting
<v Speaker 5>in trouble from my parents, you know, because I was
<v Speaker 5>bringing wildlife into the house because I would keep them
<v Speaker 5>in pet as pets in my bedroom, and then in return,
<v Speaker 5>I would leave things on the window sill and they
<v Speaker 5>would come up missing, you know, like little trinkets legos.
<v Speaker 5>I remember leaving one of those Gi Joe Lady Jane
<v Speaker 5>figures and it would come up missing, but then I
<v Speaker 5>would find it out in the woods later on. And
<v Speaker 5>we were very strong Catholic. My parents didn't believe in
<v Speaker 5>TV or anything. I was allowed to watch a half
<v Speaker 5>hour of TV a week, so I the only thing
<v Speaker 5>I could think of that it was was a spirit
<v Speaker 5>or a ghost, because that's all I knew about. So
<v Speaker 5>it was a lot of little things like that happening.
<v Speaker 5>I have one experience that I can recall. I was
<v Speaker 5>probably around eight years old, and I had my favorite
<v Speaker 5>tree that I would go and read under. The no
<v Speaker 5>kids around for me to play with, so I spent
<v Speaker 5>a lot of time by myself out in the woods
<v Speaker 5>or around the animals that we raised. And I was
<v Speaker 5>setting under this tree and I knew something was around me,
<v Speaker 5>but I never saw anything. And then all of a sudden,
<v Speaker 5>stones were getting thrown at me, Apples were getting thrown
<v Speaker 5>at me because there was an apple tree. Then a
<v Speaker 5>large limb came at me. And that's the first time
<v Speaker 5>I ever felt aggression from whatever it was I was experiencing.
<v Speaker 5>And I remember getting all upset. You know, I was
<v Speaker 5>still a young girl, and I was crying and I
<v Speaker 5>ran to my dad and I'm like, they're being mean
<v Speaker 5>to me, and they thought I had an imaginary friend,
<v Speaker 5>you know. So of course, looking back, I don't know
<v Speaker 5>why he did this. But he grabbed a shotgun and
<v Speaker 5>he was like, well, show me where you were out
<v Speaker 5>in the woods. And when we went out there, he
<v Speaker 5>climbed that tree and it was hollow inside. And I
<v Speaker 5>lived in northern Indiana. The biggest animal we have, or
<v Speaker 5>most dangerous animal we have around here, is maybe a coyote,
<v Speaker 5>or if you counter a raccoon. There's no big animals
<v Speaker 5>around here. But I remember when he climbed that tree
<v Speaker 5>and he looked down in that tree, he looked at me.
<v Speaker 5>He came down. He looked at me and very quietly,
<v Speaker 5>he says, I want you to start running to the house,
<v Speaker 5>and he ran behind me, and we ran as fast
<v Speaker 5>as we could up to the house. And it ended
<v Speaker 5>up there was a mountain lion inside that tree. So
<v Speaker 5>whatever it was that was out in that woods was
<v Speaker 5>scaring me out way from that tree. It wanted me
<v Speaker 5>out of that woods. And thinking back, my dad grabbed
<v Speaker 5>that shotgun. There was no reason for my dad to
<v Speaker 5>grab that shotgun. And unfortunately he passed away, but I
<v Speaker 5>honestly think he knew something was out there too. I
<v Speaker 5>can't go back and I can't ask him, you know,
<v Speaker 5>did you know about you know, bigfoot being behind our house?
<v Speaker 1>Because it was just weird that he grabbed that shotgun.
<v Speaker 5>There was no reason for him because they all thought
<v Speaker 5>I was making I had an imaginary friends, you know,
<v Speaker 5>because I was so lonely, so because I would always,
<v Speaker 5>you know, be like, well, I have to take extra
<v Speaker 5>sandwiches with me to give to my friends, you know,
<v Speaker 5>because I would leave them for them.
<v Speaker 1>In that.
<v Speaker 5>The next experience that I can really think of, like
<v Speaker 5>the two that I told you about, you know, where
<v Speaker 5>I feel like they saved my life. We had a
<v Speaker 5>huge barn I'm talking to this with a big red
<v Speaker 5>you know farm barns, and it had tractors in it.
<v Speaker 5>It had a basement where we kept the cows, and
<v Speaker 5>hay loft. There was a silo attached, I mean, and
<v Speaker 5>we had pigs in there. We had chickens in there.
<v Speaker 5>And I want to say I was about eleven twelve
<v Speaker 5>years old and I was up on the second floor
<v Speaker 5>in the hayloft and of course i'm reading, you know,
<v Speaker 5>just hanging out there, and it was summer vacation, and
<v Speaker 5>all of a sudden, the gates kept opening, and like
<v Speaker 5>first it was the cows got out, and I remember
<v Speaker 5>again I didn't know what I was interacting with, but
<v Speaker 5>I remember being like, you need to stop it because
<v Speaker 5>I can't round these animals up, and my dad will
<v Speaker 5>get mad that they're out. And then all of a sudden,
<v Speaker 5>I hear another you know gate open. The pigs got out,
<v Speaker 5>and I'm like, what is going on? Then the door
<v Speaker 5>flew open and all the chickens got out, and I'm like, dude,
<v Speaker 5>I'm going to get in so much trouble. And I
<v Speaker 5>remember talking out loud to them, you know, like stop it.
<v Speaker 5>You're gonna get me in so much trouble. I was like,
<v Speaker 5>there's no way I can get these animals back in
<v Speaker 5>by myself, you know. And then I'm not going to
<v Speaker 5>say it was telepathic, because I don't know if it
<v Speaker 5>was that, but maybe I put it together that they
<v Speaker 5>wanted every animal out of that barn for some reason,
<v Speaker 5>and we had just had a mother cat that had kittens.
<v Speaker 5>So I got a bucket around and I got the
<v Speaker 5>kittens out and the cat out. So I was like,
<v Speaker 5>you know, I remember yelling out to them, are you
<v Speaker 5>happy all the animals are out? And I'm going to
<v Speaker 5>get grounded and blah blah blah. Like I remember just
<v Speaker 5>going on and on to them about it. And then
<v Speaker 5>I sat back down and started reading my book, and
<v Speaker 5>then all of a sudden, a bucket came, you know,
<v Speaker 5>flying over my head. And then I mean it got
<v Speaker 5>to the point a pitchfork came at me, but it
<v Speaker 5>didn't hit me, but it came very close to me,
<v Speaker 5>and I was like, okay, so you want me out
<v Speaker 5>of here. So I was a very sensitive child, so
<v Speaker 5>I started crying and took off running, grabbed my stuff,
<v Speaker 5>took off, run into the house did not even get
<v Speaker 5>halfway up out of the house, that whole tire barn collapsed.
<v Speaker 5>I mean the earth shook. I mean it was like
<v Speaker 5>Tanning's going off.
<v Speaker 1>It was so loud.
<v Speaker 5>And my dad he worked like maybe three miles down
<v Speaker 5>the road and he had one of those big monster
<v Speaker 5>tired trucks and you can hear the you know, on
<v Speaker 5>the pavement as it's coming. And I was on the
<v Speaker 5>other side of the house, so he didn't see me,
<v Speaker 5>and he knew I hung out in that barn a
<v Speaker 5>lot in the summer, and I remember he got out
<v Speaker 5>of that truck and all I heard him scream was Terra.
<v Speaker 1>Where is Terra?
<v Speaker 5>And I came around the house and I'm like, I'm
<v Speaker 5>right here, and he's like, oh, thank god, you weren't
<v Speaker 5>in that barn. I was like, no, no, no, and
<v Speaker 5>he was like I remember him rubbing my head, rubbing
<v Speaker 5>his head and all the animals are dead. Oh my gosh,
<v Speaker 5>all the livestock's dead. And I was like, no, they're
<v Speaker 5>all out. And I remember he'd been looked at me.
<v Speaker 5>He's like, what do you mean all out? I was like,
<v Speaker 5>I let them all out, and I said I did it,
<v Speaker 5>you know, because I knew that he wasn't gonna believe
<v Speaker 5>me that my imaginary friends that's what they called them,
<v Speaker 5>told me, you know, to let them all out and
<v Speaker 5>get the cats out and everything. But I remember he
<v Speaker 5>looked at me so strangely, and I remember he gave
<v Speaker 5>me a hugg. He was like, I'm asking no questions.
<v Speaker 5>He was like, just thank God. But I just remember,
<v Speaker 5>like those were two incidents that stuck in my head
<v Speaker 5>where they were watching over me. Probably the next experience
<v Speaker 5>after that was I had one sister and three brothers,
<v Speaker 5>and me and my brothers we did not get along,
<v Speaker 5>you know, just as brothers and sisters don't. And I
<v Speaker 5>did something to my brother that made him mad. So
<v Speaker 5>I remember he went up and took like my radio
<v Speaker 5>and like, you know, some trinkets and stuff that he
<v Speaker 5>knew that I cared about, and he took him out
<v Speaker 5>in the field and he buried him, and my mom
<v Speaker 5>told him to go dig them up. Well, he claimed
<v Speaker 5>he could not find where he buried them out in
<v Speaker 5>the field because it was out in the cornfield. In
<v Speaker 5>the corn was probably about five foot high at the time.
<v Speaker 5>And I remember the next morning getting up and on
<v Speaker 5>our patio in the middle was all the trinkets had been,
<v Speaker 5>you know, uncovered, unburied and put on our patio. And
<v Speaker 5>when I asked my brother, you know, like, oh, you
<v Speaker 5>went and got those after all, he said no, he
<v Speaker 5>did not get them. He does not know how they
<v Speaker 5>got there. And I just feel like there was a
<v Speaker 5>lot of times they looked out for me like that.
<v Speaker 5>You know, this one was kind of going back in time.
<v Speaker 5>I apologize for that. I was probably around eight nine
<v Speaker 5>years old. It was the middle of winter, I want
<v Speaker 5>to say, it was about forty degrees out, and my
<v Speaker 5>parents were gone. My brothers were baby setting me and
<v Speaker 5>they locked me out of the house. I had no
<v Speaker 5>shoes on, no socks. I was in shorts and a
<v Speaker 5>T shirt. And I was out there probably for a
<v Speaker 5>good over four hours, huddled up by our water heater
<v Speaker 5>to try to stay warm, and I remember I, you know,
<v Speaker 5>fell asleep, probably was getting hypothermia, because I remember afterwards
<v Speaker 5>my parents had to take me to the hospital and
<v Speaker 5>they almost.
<v Speaker 1>Had to take two of my toes off.
<v Speaker 5>But when I woke up around the water heater, there
<v Speaker 5>was a blue tarp covering me. But I don't I
<v Speaker 5>never got up to get a blue tarp. We had
<v Speaker 5>no neighbors around and they were older, so if they
<v Speaker 5>would have seen me, they wouldn't have put a tarp
<v Speaker 5>on me. They would have you know, taken me in.
<v Speaker 5>But I never woke up to see anything put that
<v Speaker 5>tarp on me. There was another time again I had
<v Speaker 5>no friends, loved animals, tried to collect every animal in
<v Speaker 5>the world. I had a pet squirrel for over a
<v Speaker 5>year that lived in my bedroom.
<v Speaker 1>There was many times we found.
<v Speaker 5>My parents would wake up and get me out of
<v Speaker 5>bed and tell me I need to get that dog
<v Speaker 5>out of the garage, and they were thinking, you know,
<v Speaker 5>I put it there, it'd be like a neighbor's dog.
<v Speaker 5>One time it was a doctor's saint Bernard that lived
<v Speaker 5>over eight miles away, was in our garage and someone
<v Speaker 5>would have had to open the door and put that
<v Speaker 5>animal in there. But it was never me. He was
<v Speaker 5>eight miles away. I ended up getting a hundred dollars
<v Speaker 5>from that doctor too for finding that dog. But I
<v Speaker 5>didn't find it. My parents just blamed it on me.
<v Speaker 5>I guess my next incident would probably because I grew
<v Speaker 5>up started going to high school. I was in three
<v Speaker 5>for it, so I stopped hanging out outside in that
<v Speaker 5>and so this was not really my incident. It was
<v Speaker 5>a friend was taking me home one night mccurfew was
<v Speaker 5>twelve o'clock and she had dropped me off at my
<v Speaker 5>house and had drove away. Was gone maybe ten minutes,
<v Speaker 5>and we lived so far out in the country we
<v Speaker 5>didn't lock our doors or anything like that. She came
<v Speaker 5>back about ten minutes later, busted in our house screaming
<v Speaker 5>and crying, and she just kept saying, there is a
<v Speaker 5>naked monkey out there, There is a naked monkey out there,
<v Speaker 5>and I'm not driving home. And I remember my dad
<v Speaker 5>calming her down in half an and she left her
<v Speaker 5>car at our house and he had to take her
<v Speaker 5>home because she refused to drive because she was so
<v Speaker 5>scared of whatever it is that she saw. And I
<v Speaker 5>remember I've tried to talk to her about that sighting
<v Speaker 5>refuses to talk about it. But you kept saying a
<v Speaker 5>naked monkey. So that to me tells me it was
<v Speaker 5>something in between, because I mean, of course a monkey's
<v Speaker 5>going to be naked, but I just manage say there's
<v Speaker 5>a huge naked monkey out there, I'm not driving home.
<v Speaker 5>I mean, she was pure panic, and so that leads
<v Speaker 5>up to my sighting, which I was nineteen and I
<v Speaker 5>was still living home with my parents, but I still
<v Speaker 5>had a twelve o'clock curfew, and I was coming home.
<v Speaker 5>I was about a half mile from the house, and
<v Speaker 5>the part in the road where I'm talking about that
<v Speaker 5>you have to come up to a bridge and it
<v Speaker 5>goes over a pretty large ditch. And I had my
<v Speaker 5>brights on and I saw a humanoid figure take one step,
<v Speaker 5>and it was in the middle of the road, and
<v Speaker 5>then you could see it turned toward my car. So
<v Speaker 5>of course I had to slam on my brakes, you know,
<v Speaker 5>And I was probably not even a foot away from
<v Speaker 5>it before I slowed down because I was speeding trying
<v Speaker 5>to get home before curfew.
<v Speaker 1>And it bent over.
<v Speaker 5>Because it was looking at my toward my car, toward
<v Speaker 5>my windshield. It bent over and put both its hands
<v Speaker 5>on my hood and it was looking down at my hood,
<v Speaker 5>and then it looked up at me and we just
<v Speaker 5>stared at each other, into each other's eyes. And this
<v Speaker 5>is again what I'm saying. I don't know if it
<v Speaker 5>was telepathic, I don't know what it was, or if
<v Speaker 5>I was just reading what its facial expression was looking like,
<v Speaker 5>but all I got from it it was no aggression.
<v Speaker 5>It was almost sadness, and like I just kept feeling
<v Speaker 5>like it was saying I am still here. And it
<v Speaker 5>probably lasted only probably ten seconds, but it felt like
<v Speaker 5>ten minutes because then it just stood straight up, turned
<v Speaker 5>and one step was off the road and was down
<v Speaker 5>in that ditch. And I remember, I mean I sped.
<v Speaker 5>I wasn't scared when it happened. I was in shock,
<v Speaker 5>and I remember, like I didn't like speed off. I
<v Speaker 5>went so slow that half mile or so down the
<v Speaker 5>road and it I didn't start getting scared till I
<v Speaker 5>parked my car because I would have to get out
<v Speaker 5>and walk probably like fifty paces to get inside, and
<v Speaker 5>we had no lights. It was pitch blackout. That's when
<v Speaker 5>fear hit me, because I knew something was out there.
<v Speaker 5>And I remember going in and the only thing I
<v Speaker 5>could say that was nineteen and you got to remember
<v Speaker 5>where my eye was at. I just kept saying it
<v Speaker 5>was a monster, and it had the biggest hairy butt
<v Speaker 5>I have ever seen.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, its.
<v Speaker 5>Glues were just huge and the muscle, and I was,
<v Speaker 5>of course, I was getting hysterical. My dad was trying
<v Speaker 5>to calm me down, and I mean I could see
<v Speaker 5>its private region and I was like, it was a
<v Speaker 5>man and he did not have any clothes on Dad,
<v Speaker 5>you know like, and of course that got him outraged
<v Speaker 5>because he's thinking, there's, you know, a perverted person out there.
<v Speaker 5>So he called the cops and by the time they
<v Speaker 5>got the story out of me, they wrote the you know,
<v Speaker 5>the the siding off as a bear walking across the road,
<v Speaker 5>you know, standing on its two hind feet. I live
<v Speaker 5>in northern Indiana. There is no bear. I don't think
<v Speaker 5>there's ever been a bear hair except out of zoo.
<v Speaker 5>And honestly, I know what I saw. I looked at
<v Speaker 5>right in the face, and that's why I remember being
<v Speaker 5>so upset that they wouldn't believe me. And I was
<v Speaker 5>more upset with my dad because my dad was like,
<v Speaker 5>you know, just let the police officer do his job,
<v Speaker 5>and he kept shutting.
<v Speaker 1>Me down and he wouldn't let me.
<v Speaker 5>Talk about it afterwards because he said people would think
<v Speaker 5>I was crazy. The whole face seemed pretty flat. It
<v Speaker 5>had a very short forehead, grayish skin. I could see
<v Speaker 5>the wrinkles in the forehead though, big round eyes. But
<v Speaker 5>like I said, they looked like gentle eyes. I mean,
<v Speaker 5>they weren't piercing or anything. They were big and round.
<v Speaker 5>It had a very wide nose. I didn't see the teeth.
<v Speaker 5>Its mouth was shut but straight across, but it had
<v Speaker 5>pretty big lips. It was a blackish grayish color, I
<v Speaker 5>want to say. But it was very dark out too,
<v Speaker 5>and the only lights were the car lights. But like
<v Speaker 5>I said, the car I had the brights on, so
<v Speaker 5>I could see a lot. It was probably about seven
<v Speaker 5>foot tall. It wasn't girthy. It wasn't it was tall
<v Speaker 5>and lanky. I'm not gonna say it was skinny. It
<v Speaker 5>was more like a basketball build, but it had really
<v Speaker 5>broad shoulders. It would probably be about ten years ago.
<v Speaker 5>I went to go stay with my brother for about
<v Speaker 5>a week, and he only lived probably three miles away
<v Speaker 5>from where that experience when I was nineteen happened. It
<v Speaker 5>was bit further into the country, and we had a
<v Speaker 5>bonfire at night, and he had lost his keys, and
<v Speaker 5>we looked everywhere around that bonfire for the keys. We
<v Speaker 5>looked on the porch, we looked in the house, we
<v Speaker 5>looked everywhere for his keys, and finally we gave up.
<v Speaker 5>We went to bed and when we got up the
<v Speaker 5>next morning, his keys were laying like as soon as
<v Speaker 5>you walked out of his front door, in the middle
<v Speaker 5>of his porch, his keys were just laying there perfectly
<v Speaker 5>in the middle. And of course my brother's like, things
<v Speaker 5>like this are always happening, says, it's so weird out here.
<v Speaker 5>He was like, things come are come up missing, and
<v Speaker 5>then they could just come back. And then he had
<v Speaker 5>three piples and they were digging at something in the yard,
<v Speaker 5>and when we walked over there, you could see two footprints,
<v Speaker 5>like barefoot footprints, like you can make out the toes,
<v Speaker 5>the heel, everything perfectly. And then I remember him asking me,
<v Speaker 5>He was like, why did you see that one time?
<v Speaker 6>Sis?
<v Speaker 5>You know?
<v Speaker 1>And I told him.
<v Speaker 5>He was like, I'm starting to believe the real Tara.
<v Speaker 5>He was like, there's too much weird stuff that comes
<v Speaker 5>up that goes on out here. But that's the only
<v Speaker 5>thing that I experienced at his house.
<v Speaker 7>My big foot sightings happened in Gulf County, Florida. My
<v Speaker 7>name is Derek. I'm originally from Sarasota, Florida. Kind of
<v Speaker 7>a smaller concrete jungle. I can't really say small, fairly
<v Speaker 7>large city, but a concrete jungle compared to where I
<v Speaker 7>am now in Little Weewa, Hitchka, Florida, in the Gulf County.
<v Speaker 7>I used to come up here every year with my dad.
<v Speaker 7>My dad was a snake breeder and wild collector for
<v Speaker 7>the pet trade, and I've had all kinds the reptiles
<v Speaker 7>from all around the world. We've spent most of our
<v Speaker 7>summer nights springing summer nights hunting for snakes, believe it
<v Speaker 7>or not. Once a year, usually in mid June, we
<v Speaker 7>would come up to Gulf County here to hunt particular
<v Speaker 7>snakes that you don't find otherwise in the state. We
<v Speaker 7>did all kinds of stuff while we were here. We'd
<v Speaker 7>fish on the river, hang out with friends during the
<v Speaker 7>day when we weren't hunting snakes.
<v Speaker 6>Met a lot of people, you know.
<v Speaker 7>I now own a property from some older couple that
<v Speaker 7>we had hung out with when I was younger up here.
<v Speaker 7>Started coming up here when I was eight years old.
<v Speaker 7>The first thing wasn't a physical sighting not far from
<v Speaker 7>where I live, less than a five minute drive. There's
<v Speaker 7>a road. I'm not sure that I should drop names
<v Speaker 7>or anything. I guess it doesn't matter. There's a road
<v Speaker 7>nearby me Jarrett Daniels Road, major road between my major road,
<v Speaker 7>even though we're in a very desolate area where we're at,
<v Speaker 7>and another major highway that runs into Panama City, Florida.
<v Speaker 7>Used to be the first end of it closest to
<v Speaker 7>my house was paved, but then it was a dirt
<v Speaker 7>road all the way across to the other side, not
<v Speaker 7>far beyond the lot the last house. The dirt started
<v Speaker 7>going towards Highway twenty two and one year we were
<v Speaker 7>up here snake hunting. We had just stopped not long
<v Speaker 7>before that for a small banded water snake, and we
<v Speaker 7>jumped back in the truck. And we used to stop
<v Speaker 7>for snake crawl marts occasionally to check out which direction
<v Speaker 7>they were going in. Sometimes snake hadn't moved very far
<v Speaker 7>off the road, we'd take a quick look of rounds.
<v Speaker 7>So one night we see what we think is a
<v Speaker 7>snake crawl mark, and we stop and these are sugar
<v Speaker 7>sandy roads. We jump out of the truck with the
<v Speaker 7>flashlights and whatnot. It's not really that long after dark,
<v Speaker 7>less than an hour probably, and we walk up on
<v Speaker 7>what we think is going to be a snake crawl mark,
<v Speaker 7>and it turned out to be very large footprints. I'm
<v Speaker 7>going to take a guess, fifteen to seventeen inches long,
<v Speaker 7>five six inches wide. Maybe I could see the look
<v Speaker 7>in my dad's eyes. He walked up and started studying
<v Speaker 7>what he was looking at, and very shock and awe.
<v Speaker 7>You know, a pretty interesting moment. And then when I
<v Speaker 7>finally realized, you know, why he's in this state, we're
<v Speaker 7>looking at it and realizing it's gigantic footprints. We do
<v Speaker 7>have pictures of them. They're probably somewhere here in the house.
<v Speaker 7>You know, those old film cameras come with sleeves of
<v Speaker 7>pictures after you, you know, get them developed or whatever.
<v Speaker 7>I'm sure they're in one of those sleeps somewhere. We
<v Speaker 7>had to develop them at some point or another and
<v Speaker 7>brought them up the subsequent year. Showed them to a
<v Speaker 7>friend of ours that lived in White City, Florida. Here
<v Speaker 7>old snake hunter, an antiques deealer in the area who
<v Speaker 7>no longer lives here. Older man maybe dead now moved
<v Speaker 7>to Pensacola last I knew to his sister's place, and
<v Speaker 7>he lived here his whole life. He did share some
<v Speaker 7>paranormal stories with us, which did not involve a big
<v Speaker 7>foot sighting at all, he wanted to believe that what
<v Speaker 7>the footprints were was a bear running across the road,
<v Speaker 7>because they bring their feet together as they run. I
<v Speaker 7>guess one might try to conclude that maybe he just
<v Speaker 7>wanted to write off what we had saw. Pictures don't
<v Speaker 7>do it as much justice as looking at it, you know, physically,
<v Speaker 7>especially when the pictures were taken at night under flash.
<v Speaker 7>But from what I remember staring at as a probably
<v Speaker 7>ten year old child at that time, I don't believe
<v Speaker 7>it was a bear that ran across the road where
<v Speaker 7>two feet had come together as it would have strided
<v Speaker 7>across the road, or what everyone to say. I believe,
<v Speaker 7>you know, based on what I remember seeing. The outline
<v Speaker 7>of the footprint, even in the sugar sand, wasn't broken
<v Speaker 7>on the edges or anything like that. I do believe
<v Speaker 7>it was a large, solid footprint, multiples going across the road.
<v Speaker 7>But that was my very first, you know, ever evidence
<v Speaker 7>of seeing something like that. I've always kind of been
<v Speaker 7>into aliens and ghosts and cryptids and things like that,
<v Speaker 7>even as a young child, but up until that point,
<v Speaker 7>never actually thought i'd see anything like that.
<v Speaker 6>Probably two years.
<v Speaker 7>Later, we are driving down what it is paved on
<v Speaker 7>two sides, but a dirt in the middle, very long
<v Speaker 7>road between the physical city of Wuiewa.
<v Speaker 6>Near the Chipola River.
<v Speaker 7>There's a boat ramp at the end of the main
<v Speaker 7>road that this road is off of called Gaskin. There's
<v Speaker 7>a little public park there roads called Iola. It runs
<v Speaker 7>off the way across to Scott's Ferry. It's an area
<v Speaker 7>called Scott's Ferry. Is a campground there, volunteer fire department,
<v Speaker 7>stuff like that. The road is paved more on the
<v Speaker 7>further end where this sighting had took place, but at
<v Speaker 7>that point in time, it was still dirt at that area.
<v Speaker 7>It's it's still dirt in the middle at a point,
<v Speaker 7>but it's it's paved further inward towards the middle of
<v Speaker 7>the road. Now no houses in this particular area. You're
<v Speaker 7>still two or three miles off of coming up on
<v Speaker 7>the houses on the farther end of what was the
<v Speaker 7>Bay Road at that point in time. We're coming back
<v Speaker 7>in the direction going back towards Uewa hitchkut. And you know,
<v Speaker 7>my dad doesn't have the greatest eyes in the world.
<v Speaker 7>Usually would wear glasses or contacts or whatever. But due
<v Speaker 7>to that he doesn't look out as far in front
<v Speaker 7>of the truck as I do. While we're snake hunting,
<v Speaker 7>and in this particular night, a kid that a kid
<v Speaker 7>native to the area.
<v Speaker 6>Was with us, a kid named.
<v Speaker 7>Anthony, son of a family we would befriended up here
<v Speaker 7>and hung out with all the time and stuff during
<v Speaker 7>the day while we weren't snake hunting, and late at
<v Speaker 7>night after we were done snake hunting.
<v Speaker 6>So I were cruising down the road.
<v Speaker 7>And my dad doesn't see it at all, but a
<v Speaker 7>large upright ape like creature maybe one hundred and fifty
<v Speaker 7>foot in front of the truck runs across the road.
<v Speaker 7>Very interesting looking animal, reddish brown color, possibly some gray
<v Speaker 7>if they didn't have to do with the lighting of
<v Speaker 7>the truck. Hunched over, I'm going to say in it's
<v Speaker 7>hunched over state six and a half, but tall possibly
<v Speaker 7>if it was fully you know, erect or whatever you
<v Speaker 7>want to say, maybe seven or better be tall. So
<v Speaker 7>this thing runs in front of the truck and I
<v Speaker 7>immediately go, whoa did you see that? And Anthony did
<v Speaker 7>in fact see it as well. My Dad's like, what
<v Speaker 7>are you talking about? What you see? And I was like, dude, seriously,
<v Speaker 7>a big foot just ran in front of the truck.
<v Speaker 7>He did not see that, and he, of course he
<v Speaker 7>didn't see it. So we had stopped shortly afterwards, and
<v Speaker 7>he had got out. At the time, I wasn't crazy, fearful.
<v Speaker 6>I was with my.
<v Speaker 7>Dad, you know, a man's man kind of guy. You know,
<v Speaker 7>I'm a young kid, you know, trusting in my dad's safety.
<v Speaker 7>Anthony did get out with us. His parents, I believe,
<v Speaker 7>were actually cruising kind of opposite of on the same road,
<v Speaker 7>just kind of helping us stratifying some snakes. We had
<v Speaker 7>got out to see if we could see tracks, to
<v Speaker 7>verify what I had claimed it seen. But where it
<v Speaker 7>had run across the road, it didn't leave tracks. It
<v Speaker 7>was more like a shuffle, like it didn't lift its
<v Speaker 7>feet more or less shuffled across the road, and as
<v Speaker 7>it ran hunched over. As I was saying, it had
<v Speaker 7>the very classic you know, arms longer than its knees,
<v Speaker 7>swinging back and forth pretty decently, definitely an enter.
<v Speaker 6>I didn't get a good look at its face.
<v Speaker 7>It was a total you know, side view of the
<v Speaker 7>animal or whatever you want.
<v Speaker 6>To call it. Just an awe striking moment.
<v Speaker 7>We checked out what turned out to be the scuffle
<v Speaker 7>of marchs across the road and jump back in the truck.
<v Speaker 7>Didn't go too far, maybe two three hundred yards out
<v Speaker 7>the road, and there's an eastern checkered garter snake in
<v Speaker 7>the road, and generally I would jump out to just
<v Speaker 7>grab the snakes on my own terms. And I was like,
<v Speaker 7>I want to see you catch that one. I was like,
<v Speaker 7>I don't know about that. You want to get out
<v Speaker 7>there and catch this one, dad, you know so? But
<v Speaker 7>you know, I'm not crazy, fearful or anything, but wary
<v Speaker 7>to go out there by myself, not even that far
<v Speaker 7>from the truck by any means. That's pretty much that
<v Speaker 7>particular sighting. I guess, you know, I continued to go
<v Speaker 7>out in the woods and stuff, no problem at all.
<v Speaker 7>I guess I always have that lingering thought in the
<v Speaker 7>back of my mind, you know, that I could see
<v Speaker 7>something like that again based on the second sighting, and
<v Speaker 7>I don't necessarily think they're that aggressive in all cases,
<v Speaker 7>at least, even though I was pretty scared during the
<v Speaker 7>second sighting because I was by myself, but I went
<v Speaker 7>out in the woods, you know, the swamp rather.
<v Speaker 6>Near Anthony's house.
<v Speaker 7>We looked for crawfish and turtles and snakes and stuff
<v Speaker 7>during the daytime, and other than that lingering thought in
<v Speaker 7>the back of my mind, really didn't worry about it
<v Speaker 7>a whole lot. I still go out in the swamps
<v Speaker 7>to these days. I'm now a forager and whatnot. I
<v Speaker 7>foraged wild fruits like for simmons, and then hunt chant
<v Speaker 7>rail mushrooms and boat leads and things like that, medicinal mushrooms.
<v Speaker 7>So don't let it drive me out of the woods
<v Speaker 7>by any means, still something I love to do. I've
<v Speaker 7>passed on the snake hunting tradition to my children. No,
<v Speaker 7>my daughter is still very young, but she'll hold a snake,
<v Speaker 7>and my wife still won't after eighteen years. Sun will
<v Speaker 7>catch on me sixteen and all that good stuff. But anyways,
<v Speaker 7>for the second sighting, still not very far from my house.
<v Speaker 7>There's a road not but a few miles from my
<v Speaker 7>house that cuts across between my major road, which is
<v Speaker 7>Highway three eighty six, also known as Overstreet to the locals.
<v Speaker 7>That's the main drag between Weewahitchka and Mexico Beach. The
<v Speaker 7>road's called Road twenty. It's also called Robert's Landing Road,
<v Speaker 7>a very large dirt road, takes you close to a
<v Speaker 7>half an hour to drive across to White City, where
<v Speaker 7>our friend Jack lives or lived. But one year we
<v Speaker 7>were staying at Jack's house. We used to rent at
<v Speaker 7>a hotel that no longer exists here in town. He's
<v Speaker 7>called Big B's at one point in time, switched to
<v Speaker 7>a name called Swampies at a different point in time.
<v Speaker 7>It's now a by Right drug store. And so we
<v Speaker 7>were staying at Jack's house this particular year. It was
<v Speaker 7>probably two years after that first physical sighting, maybe the
<v Speaker 7>subsequent year, probably two years after my dad had drug
<v Speaker 7>our four wheeler up here. I had a Honda four
<v Speaker 7>hundred sports Tracks, not an automatic manual. Wasn't very great
<v Speaker 7>at driving it yet the very first time it actually
<v Speaker 7>went out driving at a different location in Sarasota where
<v Speaker 7>we lived, had actually crashed into a ditch. But that
<v Speaker 7>being said, we'd brought it up here that one year,
<v Speaker 7>and we're staying at Jack's house at the far end
<v Speaker 7>of Road twenty in White City.
<v Speaker 6>I decided one day that I was going to.
<v Speaker 7>Get out on the four wheeler and ride out into
<v Speaker 7>the road during the daytime, like I said, very long road.
<v Speaker 7>Takes a good long time to travel across it. You know,
<v Speaker 7>we're usually cruising slow, you know, thirty miles an hour
<v Speaker 7>or whatever, and it takes you a good while to
<v Speaker 7>get across. So I'm riding this four wheeler maybe.
<v Speaker 6>Third to half.
<v Speaker 7>Wayish out into the woods. It was all paper pine
<v Speaker 7>plantation here. The original woods that was here probably a
<v Speaker 7>very long time ago, one hundred and fifty years ago
<v Speaker 7>or whatever, had been logged over and over again. Saint
<v Speaker 7>Joe Paper Company had owned all the land here and
<v Speaker 7>replanted you know, paper pine trees in perfect straight rows.
<v Speaker 7>So it's just a giant wilderness of paper pines. It's
<v Speaker 7>now been bought by the Mormon Church. It's converting a
<v Speaker 7>lot of the land into cow fields, and some of
<v Speaker 7>it's being replanted in paper pine. But all those years ago,
<v Speaker 7>still owned by the Saint Joe Paper Company, their facility
<v Speaker 7>wasn't operating here anymore. The paper mill had moved over
<v Speaker 7>to Panama City, Florida at.
<v Speaker 6>That point in time.
<v Speaker 7>And I'm riding down the road pretty far out there
<v Speaker 7>by myself on a four wheeler that I'm not the
<v Speaker 7>greatest at working, and I'm just staring down the perfect
<v Speaker 7>rows of trees as I cruise along, enjoying myself. Maybe
<v Speaker 7>I could run into certain snakes in the middle of
<v Speaker 7>the day, hognose snakes, black racers, rattle snakes, as opposed
<v Speaker 7>to most of the stuff we'd looked for as usually
<v Speaker 7>in the early mornings and evenings or at snakes, king snakes,
<v Speaker 7>and stuff like that. So I'm passing a particular, you know,
<v Speaker 7>a row of trees, and as I'm looking down, there's
<v Speaker 7>a massive figure standing front side to me, two hundred
<v Speaker 7>foot off the road. Maybe I would say it had
<v Speaker 7>to have been brownish, close to seven foot tall.
<v Speaker 6>It was in full shade of all these large trees, so.
<v Speaker 7>I can't get a totally accurate description of its color, height,
<v Speaker 7>and stuff.
<v Speaker 6>No problem.
<v Speaker 7>I could see it well, just in the shade, the
<v Speaker 7>darkness of the trees, but very much I could tell
<v Speaker 7>what it was for sure. So in a you know,
<v Speaker 7>almost like time stopping, you know, a wave of fear
<v Speaker 7>coming on, like holy stuff, I'm out here by myself,
<v Speaker 7>quickly try to swing the four wheeler around to go
<v Speaker 7>back to the other direction where safety would be, and
<v Speaker 7>in this period to try to do so, I in
<v Speaker 7>stall the four wheeler without hardly getting but turned around,
<v Speaker 7>and I'm shaking crazy and freaking out really mostly I
<v Speaker 7>guess due to being by myself, you know, being with
<v Speaker 7>my dad and in a vehicle and stuff.
<v Speaker 6>During the first one.
<v Speaker 7>Very interesting, but just not that level of fear by
<v Speaker 7>any means. I gave it several tries. I couldn't feather
<v Speaker 7>out the clutch, just freaking out too bad. I kept
<v Speaker 7>stalling it over and over again, not making it more.
<v Speaker 6>In a foot or do at a time.
<v Speaker 7>So I could hear the pine needles and stuff crunching
<v Speaker 7>out there in the woods, and I don't think it
<v Speaker 7>was coming towards me. I do think it was moving
<v Speaker 7>kind of parallel to the road, but in this state
<v Speaker 7>of fear, I get off the four wheeler and I'm
<v Speaker 7>trying to look between the trees and I'm not seeing it,
<v Speaker 7>but I'm still hearing it, and I couldn't lay eyes
<v Speaker 7>on it again, maybe hiding somehow from my sight. There's
<v Speaker 7>other brush and stuff grown between some of the lanes
<v Speaker 7>and whatnot of the trees. So I start screaming into
<v Speaker 7>the woods all kinds of choice words. Even as a
<v Speaker 7>probably twelve thirteen year old child, maybe fourteen, just flat
<v Speaker 7>out screaming at the woods. And after a minute or
<v Speaker 7>two of doing that, I decided I'd better try to
<v Speaker 7>get on the four wheeler and just go. So I
<v Speaker 7>got on it, and after three or four tries, I
<v Speaker 7>finally got it to go, and I bruised on out
<v Speaker 7>of there and never went back out there again by
<v Speaker 7>myself on that before we other. And that's pretty much that.
<v Speaker 7>Like I said, I'm a short, sweeten to the point
<v Speaker 7>kind of guy. Nothing paranormal at all about the Bigfoot sightings.
<v Speaker 7>You know, obviously they didn't disappear or or whatever. At
<v Speaker 7>what I saw I believed to be flesh and blood.
<v Speaker 7>I do these days, after watching many many videos, reading
<v Speaker 7>many many things, studying other cryptids and things like that,
<v Speaker 7>I do believe there is potentially some paranormal aspects to them,
<v Speaker 7>But for the little that I did get to observe them,
<v Speaker 7>absolutely no paranormal activity from my physical sightings at all.
<v Speaker 7>That said, there is a lot of sightings near Sarasota, Florida,
<v Speaker 7>particularly in the Maaca City region. As far as I know,
<v Speaker 7>my dad's girlfriend owns a property or families owned it
<v Speaker 7>for years. Getting out towards Arcadia Downstate Road seventy two
<v Speaker 7>from Sarasota, Florida, and they own a property at a
<v Speaker 7>place called Forest Creek. Throw a couple of big parties
<v Speaker 7>out there every year with all their childhood friends family.
<v Speaker 7>There could be you know, sixty to one hundred people
<v Speaker 7>there any given year, twice a year, usually riding four
<v Speaker 7>wheelers through the woods, desolate area, not far from another
<v Speaker 7>road we used to snake nut out there, called Siddale Road.
<v Speaker 7>One night, she's coming home from her property out there,
<v Speaker 7>I think, if I remember correct, is probably like eleven
<v Speaker 7>o'clock at night, and she screws in down State Road
<v Speaker 7>seventy two, pretty close to the mouth of Siddell Road,
<v Speaker 7>where I snake hunted many times as a younger man.
<v Speaker 7>And this thing's just straight walking down the road. And
<v Speaker 7>full faith and credit in this woman. If she said
<v Speaker 7>she saw that, I believe it. My dad's been with
<v Speaker 7>her for probably over twenty years.
<v Speaker 6>Good person, loving person. You know. I'm just not going
<v Speaker 6>to tell any bs.
<v Speaker 7>And I do believe she saw something out there as well,
<v Speaker 7>as I guess other people have as well.
<v Speaker 6>A different story.
<v Speaker 7>My dad and his buddy, obviously reptile collectors used to
<v Speaker 7>go down by Lake Okachovie to a place they called
<v Speaker 7>the jungle. I'm not sure why it's called that, It's
<v Speaker 7>just something they named it. I had never stepped foot
<v Speaker 7>there before. Back when they did it more often, I
<v Speaker 7>was very young, you know, talking five, six, seven years old,
<v Speaker 7>and they would go down there in the middle of
<v Speaker 7>the night and hunt through this wooded area. But like
<v Speaker 7>I said, they called the jungle, and you'd carry a box,
<v Speaker 7>you know, sealed up or whatever with a hole big
<v Speaker 7>enough to put your thumb in, and you walk through
<v Speaker 7>the woods at night, because the lizards would sleep on
<v Speaker 7>the leaves and branches of the trees, and you could
<v Speaker 7>just walk up and pluck them like there were cherries
<v Speaker 7>off the plants, and you'd pull your thumb out real quick,
<v Speaker 7>shove a lizard in the box, and keep on going.
<v Speaker 7>And then back then they'd probably get like twenty five
<v Speaker 7>cents apiece for a lizard, and you could go out
<v Speaker 7>there and screw around in the woods all night and
<v Speaker 7>come home with four hundred lizards of three different kinds,
<v Speaker 7>you know, base green and oles and the invasive brown
<v Speaker 7>and oles, skinks, things like that, and then sell them
<v Speaker 7>wholesale to different reptile dealers used to sell them to
<v Speaker 7>a place called Silver City Sercuentarium, which I have no
<v Speaker 7>idea they're still in business or not. Now I'm pretty
<v Speaker 7>sure they're not. But in recent years Allen had passed away,
<v Speaker 7>probably close to a year ago now from a heart attack,
<v Speaker 7>but maybe a year prior to that.
<v Speaker 6>My dad and him had.
<v Speaker 7>Gone down to the jungle and they'd never had any
<v Speaker 7>experiences that were out of the ordinary there before. And
<v Speaker 7>him and my dad walking through there were flashlights at night,
<v Speaker 7>collecting lizards in the occasional snake potentially yellow rat, snake,
<v Speaker 7>oorn snake or whatever you might run across there in
<v Speaker 7>the middle of night.
<v Speaker 6>You know, they're walking through there, and my dad's here
<v Speaker 6>and Brallen noises all around them, they both are. Matter
<v Speaker 6>how hard they try, they can't put a flash light on.
<v Speaker 7>It seems to be going all around them, like you'd
<v Speaker 7>hear it in front of you at one point, and
<v Speaker 7>then in the blank of an eye it's behind you,
<v Speaker 7>to the side of you. And they couldn't, for the
<v Speaker 7>life of them get a glimpse of what was going on,
<v Speaker 7>just that they did not feel welcome, They did not
<v Speaker 7>feel like they should be there and couldn't get a
<v Speaker 7>sighting at all of whatever was bothering them out there
<v Speaker 7>that night, and of course it breaks both of them
<v Speaker 7>out to some extent or another. And these are you know,
<v Speaker 7>man's man kind of guys that are used to being
<v Speaker 7>in the woods, you know, love nature on it, you know,
<v Speaker 7>things like that, and to freak them out bad enough,
<v Speaker 7>you know, that makes you question wanting to go back.
<v Speaker 6>It's pretty interesting in and of itself.
<v Speaker 7>But for whatever reason, not long after that, Allen goes
<v Speaker 7>back out there by him.
<v Speaker 6>And has an experience.
<v Speaker 7>If I remember the story correctly, and I can get
<v Speaker 7>it from my dad again.
<v Speaker 6>Since Allan's no longer around to tell the.
<v Speaker 7>Tale, he encountered three creatures, relatively face to face within
<v Speaker 7>feet of him, maybe five to ten foot, I don't know.
<v Speaker 7>They got pretty close upon him, if I remember correctly,
<v Speaker 7>burred humanoid creatures larger than him, and he's not a
<v Speaker 7>small guy. He said they had red glowing eyes, and
<v Speaker 7>he would describe them to be demons, not necessarily the
<v Speaker 7>average sasquatch by any means, but sasasquatch like an appearance
<v Speaker 7>boding him anyways, and break him out so bad that
<v Speaker 7>he had pledged she was never going back there again,
<v Speaker 7>and my dad, after having the experience they had together
<v Speaker 7>online before that, he's like, dude, no, we need to
<v Speaker 7>go out there and we need to check it out.
<v Speaker 7>But Alan refused to do it, and before he had died,
<v Speaker 7>he could not be convinced to go back out there.
<v Speaker 7>And then not long long ago, several weeks back, my
<v Speaker 7>dad and his girlfriend had drove down to the lake
<v Speaker 7>there and tried to find the jungle. Salin had always
<v Speaker 7>led the way of you know, driving or whatever to
<v Speaker 7>the spot. My dad was pretty sure he knew where
<v Speaker 7>it was, you know, by himself or whatever, but wasn't
<v Speaker 7>one hundred percent. And they're pretty sure they found the
<v Speaker 7>area where that was, but now it is under construction
<v Speaker 7>and being in torn apart, so that particular area no
<v Speaker 7>longer exists as far.
<v Speaker 6>As I know.
<v Speaker 7>But just an interesting tale from another guy. I have
<v Speaker 7>absolute fool faith and credit him, another guy I believed
<v Speaker 7>to have the proclivity to see things, though I think
<v Speaker 7>that was his only I guess I could say sasquatch
<v Speaker 7>like encounter. He's had several other interesting encounters in his day,
<v Speaker 7>UFOs and.
<v Speaker 6>Things like that.
<v Speaker 7>It's probably not the craziest stories you've ever heard, you know,
<v Speaker 7>or whatever. Just I'm here to give a testimony about
<v Speaker 7>something I saw.
<v Speaker 6>They're definitely here.
<v Speaker 7>I'm not the only one who's seen them. They're They're
<v Speaker 7>definitely out there, and I just wanted to tell my story.
<v Speaker 7>It's a bit more on the mundane side. I understand
<v Speaker 7>that it happened a long time ago as a kid.
<v Speaker 7>I'm thirty six years old now doing my own thing
<v Speaker 7>and whatever. Still in my mind, still think about it
<v Speaker 7>when I'm out there in the woods by myself. It's
<v Speaker 7>not a major bother, but I guess I could say
<v Speaker 7>I'm a bit more vigilant. But and I've now lived
<v Speaker 7>here in Leewall daily for a little over eight years
<v Speaker 7>and I haven't yet seen another one. I'm not sure
<v Speaker 7>I ever will, but I'm certainly in their territory, and
<v Speaker 7>someday I do hope to see one again. And perhaps
<v Speaker 7>i'd like to hope my children and wife were there
<v Speaker 7>to see it with me.
<v Speaker 6>I don't know what else I can say about it.
<v Speaker 8>Well, that's it for tonight's show. If you've had a
